Maytag is a reputable brand name for a washer & dryer. However, they have done very well in the oven/range industry as well! I own a oven/range for over 4 years now and it works great???! Food is cooked to perfection and cleaning???? And self-cleaning is a snap!

I bought a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer two years ago. A week after the one year warranty was up, my dryer broke. That was in October. It took me until February to get it fixed, but within two months it broke again. It has taken me until now to get it fixed again and they found the same problem; the thermal fuse blew. Both times it has cost me over $100 to get fixed, but I still cant use every part of the top panel; I can only use timed dry cycle. I’m expecting the dryer to go again. The repair man had to re-glue the seal that went around the drum. The vents were all clean and were blowing fine, so we’re not sure why this keeps happening. Our family have always owned Maytags and they have always lasted for 20+ years. I am so disappointed with Maytag at this point and will never buy another again. Go back to the old days, Maytag! By the way, has anyone noticed they dont run the Maytag commercials anymore, because I have!

MBD7709AWB2 - Bottom line, every 1.5 years (18 months) you will have to buy a control panel. Number 3 for me cost me $149.00. Now my wash cycle will not kick on. Do I have to tell you what dishwasher not to buy!

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model MDB7809AWWI) in Sept. of 2009. In 2010 and 2011, it had dead control panels. The first time, it was under warranty. The second time, it was not, and I purchased a costly service plan to have it repaired. Now, 2012, its dead a third time. Maytag tried to tell me that I could purchase another plan for $289. I informed them that for that cost, I can replace it with a dishwasher that doesnt require costly service plans and yearly repairs. They informed me that their parts only have a 30-day warranty. If theyre not willing to stand behind their products enough to admit that one is faulty, then Im not willing to stand behind them as a company.

We have had a Maytag dishwasher for just over a year. The control panel acts up randomly and has finally quit altogether. The design of the handle is very poor as it pulls the control panel away from the door. Will never buy a Maytag product again. This is a very clear design flaw and when we called Maytag they offered no help as we are passed the guarantee.

Last year we replaced a Maytag dishwasher which had a faulty control panel after just a few years of light use (There are just the two of us). It was going to cost almost as much to repair it as to buy a new dishwasher, so we opted for an $800 model (MDB8959AWW6) with a control panel across the top of the door. There had been a recall on that first Maytag for the heating element or something, so we decided to put the credit towards a machine that would last us for years, we hoped!We have been in this house for 18 years and the original cheap builder-installed dishwasher lasted for 12 years. In fact, there was nothing wrong with it when we replaced it with the last one. Whatever happened to the lonely Maytag repair man? We did not buy an extended warranty, but I can see now that probably these things are only meant to last the lifetime of the warranty.We are semi-retired and cannot afford to have the dishwasher repaired, so it will be a decoration in the kitchen from on. Never ever will I recommend Maytag to anyone! One bad experience should have been enough, and we probably would not have bought a Maytag again had it not been for the credit we got for the product recall on the last one!

I purchased a set of Bravos 4 months ago and what a bad purchase! I wish I would have researched here first. Being environmentally concerned, I bought it because it was supposed to be high efficiency and low water usage. My clothes are being destroyed by this machine. They come out in a massive tangled ball, covered in ink and animal hair (after a wash or two, they are completely embedded into the fibers). Sometimes there are dry spots after I take a load out of the washing machine. No idea how that could happen. It torn my favorite sweater, ripped sheets, bore a hole in a towel, ripped pillows, and DOESNT EVEN CLEAN! I have to wash my clothes twice MANY times to get the dirt out which doesnt bode well for energy efficiency. Im calling them again today to try and get them returned for advertising that they will save me money. Not even close! They are a rip off! I gave my 35 year old set away and wish I had it back! Maytag is JUNK!!!

I bought this after having a Frigidaire for 40 years and was immediately disappointed upon installation. This OVEN, not a range, was smaller inside and a lot of new pans would not fit! I have replaced the burners and the bulb wiring several times. Would not buy another one!

I am writing for your assistance with an ongoing problem that I am having with my Maytag Series 2000 front-loading clothes washing machine. I am, frankly, astonished and frustrated beyond any means of coping with the response I have gotten from Maytag about the lemon washing machine that was sold to me. As I have never before had any sort of reason to complain about any major appliance purchase (nor about any car or house purchase), I’m not yet sure of what avenues are available to me. It seems prudent to inquire of your office before getting a private attorney to help me with this. The following is my situation:First of all, I am asking for a replacement washing machine. I am clearly saddled with a lemon.On or around December 2010, we purchased the Maytag Series 2000 washing machine from Cedar Appliance of Medford, MA. Within the first several months, the washer started ripping, shredding, and putting holes in our clothes. This did not happen during every wash cycle, just sometimes. At the time, we didn’t know if it was the washer or the (also new) Maytag dryer that was causing it. After living with this for some time, we decided to call Cedar Appliance for service. Cedar came out several times to look at the machines and they couldn’t tell what machine was causing the holes. Eventually, I started examining every article coming out of the washer to determine which machine was causing the problem. Over time and many visits later, Cedar Appliance referred us to L.A.R. Service of Wakefield MA, which they called Maytag service.L.A.R. Service came out and looked at it. They said that we were missing a part. They ordered the part and installed it and said everything should be fine. They also sold us an extended service contract. I am still having the exact same problem with the machine. Today I called L.A.R. and they told me that I had to call Cedar to get an authorization for service. I called Cedar and they told me to call Maytag. I called Maytag and after spending an inordinate amount of time recalling the details, the service representative told me that I could pay up front for an extended warranty and they would send someone out. I asked for a supervisor. I got Kitty. Kitty told me that Maytag would not replace my machine, which is clearly a lemon because I hadn’t yet had enough service done on it. I explained that I have spent hours calling for service, scheduling service, waiting for service, supervising service, and paying for service. She explained that on only one service call did they install new parts, so I needed more service. So, I should have demanded new parts on each of these service calls so that I would have earned some credibility for my lemon machine?The fact is that my family and I have lost hundreds of dollars on torn and ruined clothing caused by a new washing machine! After the boot was installed, or replaced (I’m not sure exactly what was done), we are experiencing the exact same problem. When the L.A.R. Service people left last time, they told me the problem was solved. It wasn’t. This is not normal. This is a lemon machine.Its one thing to have clothes destroyed, but what is extra frustrating is that I never know when the machine is going to destroy an article of clothing. This past Friday, we were preparing to go out of town for our daughter’s basketball tournament. I took the clothes out of the washer on Friday evening to discover that one of the blue uniforms was destroyed. There was no time to replace the uniform and my daughter was out of luck. This means that I cannot put an article of clothing into the washer that I absolutely have to have. I can’t live this way. This is a relatively new washer that should last 20 years. Right now, I can’t wash any important article of clothing. I’ve been told before that it was all set. Kitty has L.A.R. coming again this Wednesday to repair the machine. What am I supposed to do when it’s repaired? Put a uniform jersey in it? This is a very brief description of the experience I have had over the past 1.5 years with this new machine. The hours, money, disappointment, and utter frustration is more than I can describe in an email. I have attached three photos of recently destroyed items. Unfortunately, I threw away tens of items several months ago when L.A.R. fixed it.Is this unbelievable? Or are my expectations too high? Is this really what Maytag/Whirlpool has in mind for customer service? Is this really what they mean by standing behind their products? Why wouldn’t or why shouldn’t Maytag replace this machine? How much more time, money, and tears is a customer expected to spend and endure? How do I regain peace of mind and quality of running a household? Am I supposed to toss this machine and buy a new one? Believe me, that’s what I will have to do if I can’t get relief on this problem. There is no way that I can go many more months with this headache. In many ways, buying a brand new machine would be worth the peace of mind, but I am trying to make sure that my family, as consumers, are treated properly. It is also the principle of the thing. We purchased a Maytag Bravo washing machine and dryer from Home Depot so needless to say, it was not an inexpensive purchase. I absolutely will NEVER purchase another Maytag ANYTHING! The washer will not spin and when it does, it sounds like it is coming through the washroom doors. The heating element has had to be replaced in the dryer and has always had a sour smell inside. I have nothing nice to say about these products and would absolutely NOT recommend them to even my worst enemy!

We bought a Maytag refrigerator around 2 yrs ago. Ive had repair out a couple and tried to take care of this myself. I am being told by repair men that it is a design flaw that the line gets plugged and water pours out all over my floor. We recently purchased a Maytag Washer/Dryer set, but shortly after it arrived, we realized it was way too big for our needs, so traded it in for a smaller model (Model #MVWB765FC3). After a few washes, it developed a loud clicking noise during the entire wash cycle. Inquired about it at the retailer we purchased it from (showed them video of it) and was told it was not supposed to make that noise. Subsequently the Maytag Repairman paid us a visit and told us theres nothing wrong with the machine and that the retailer should not have told us what they did.#1). The machine did not make that noise initially. It started after a few loads of laundry. #2). The first machine we brought home was the same model (only larger) and that one didnt make that noise. To add insult to injury, the repairman has the audacity to tell my husband, Well, this visit didnt cost you anything. Really?! It cost him 4 hours of pay while he sat home waiting for you! In addition, we were delivered two cosmetically defective dryers that had to be returned. Furthermore, when I was washer/dryer shopping, I sent Maytags Customer Service Dept. an e-mail through their website asking questions about the product. To this day, I have still not received a response. I had a bad experience about 20 years ago with Maytag, but thought Id give them a second chance. I tell you...there will not be a 3rd time.

First front loader washer and love it. Saving on water, less tangling of clothes. So far they are quieter than others that I have had. The dryer is almost 10 years old and the washer less than a year. The machine I had previous to this was top loader that had to be replaced, would no longer spin.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot 2 years ago and the first year I already had problems. The second year there was ice on the bottom freezer I called Maytag. They claim a technician needs to come out but cant tell me how much it is to come out for an estimate. After they come out they tell me how much it was. Everyday I have ice or water from the freezer. I had also purchased my stove which very easily has been all scratched and considering that I hardly ever cook, I figured it would look new for years. I will never buy another Maytag appliance!!!

Buyer beware. This machine has received several complaints. Not long after purchase, the washer started to stop during the fill cycle and give an error code no. This is supposed to be sure to overloading the machine. The other reason they give is something stuck item the baskets. Again not the case. Supposedly it must be a motor issue. Maytag was my trusted band. Our last Maytag lasted us almost twenty five years.I was excited to get this machine but disappointed with the lack of clean clothes, error codes, and noisy operation. My first clue should have been the one year only warranty. Thats how much they believe in their products. Ill never trust Maytag again. So sad that whirlpool should sabotage the Maytag brand and turn an otherwise great washer manufacturer into a piece of junk manufacturer. Dont buy whirlpool either as thats how much they care for customers.

We bought the Maytag Bravos washer & dryer combo from box store. I wanted an extra large capacity washer to accommodate king sized bedding, and having fewer wash loads in general. Cons: 1 - This machine is not energy efficient when each wash load takes 1:30 to 1:50 each load. 2 - The detergent/fabric softener/oxi dispensers are a joke. Water dumps into every compartment at once. And if there’s still detergent left by the rinse cycle, well you get the picture.3 - The “Bedding” setting is the only one which will provide enough water in the tub to get anything wet. Since there isn’t any type of agitator the clothing/bedding just floats on the surface in dirty perfumed water. 4 - With any of the other settings the water level is so low it doesn’t always get everything wet so items are not being washed properly. At most maybe 2 pairs of jeans or just a few t-shirts can be washed on the “Normal” or “Power Wash” settings. 5 - Because there isn’t an agitator, clothing gets knotted up. Dress shirts, dress pants, jeans, towels, you name it, everything comes out of the washer in a knotted mess.The Bravos XL Dryer: My only complaint with the dryer is that it allows a good amount of lint to pass through into the machine. Then it’s difficult to get any type of lint brush into the vent area to remove the lint. Dampened lint in the machine can make clothing smell musty and nasty. I had to call a service to remove lint from the dryer & ducting because of the odor lingering from the inside the dryer.

This dishwasher is at 10 years old, but is a real workhorse. This machine cleans like no other! Never worry about our dishes being clean. But we have replaced the seal once.

I purchased a Maytag Dryer Model MEDC200XW1 Electric Dryer in November of 2011. Along with a Maytag Washer from Home Depot. This week the dryer stopped heating for no apparent reason. I use it about three times a week. I tried to speak to Maytag customer service, they were very rude and did not care I spent thousands of dollars in kitchen appliances as well. They would not even cover the service call or diagnostic or half the repair cost. Supervisor Brian @ Maytag Customer Service was rude and unprofessional. I will never buy their product again.

The oven hasn’t caused any issues. It’s beautiful stainless steel and black finish creates a shiny but modest finish to my kitchen. It’s self cleaning power is also useful and saves time and where I come from time is money. It cooks food evenly just as an oven should.

Just passed warranty period and Maytag dishwasher broke. It would not start. Called and was allowed to purchase extended warranty for $135.00. A new panel was shipped and dishwasher lasted just under one more year with same issue. Another extended warranty was offered for $199.00. Needless to say we are buying a new dishwasher and not a Maytag or Whirlpool. The panels are notorious for rusting out. Hmmm moisture of a dishwasher and parts easily corrode.

Dryers been installed for 3 months, 3 service calls to date. Heat unit failure. 1st service call no show, no call. 2nd service call fixed the problem 50%, the dryer would heat on timed dry but no other modes. A week after that call heat unit failed again on all modes. Awaiting 3rd service call. Customer Service Department at Whirlpool Canada could care less. Avoid this product, Maytag 2000 series dryer - do not buy.

Gas double oven - range that has performed well over 12 years old with only one service call for thermostat. Very inexpensive to repair and parts are readily available. Easily cleaned inside and out.

Ive only had my Maytag Bravos XL Washer for two years and I HATE it. It constantly gets off balance during the rinse and spin cycle. What should take 30 minutes takes triple the amount of time. My washer is in the basement and I constantly have to run up and down the steps to readjust the clothes in the washer. Ive started to just stand by the washer now during the rinse and spin cycle. What a waste of time. I would not recommend this washer to anyone. Also, it does an awful job of rinsing out the detergent and softener. All of my dark colored pants have detergent and softener residue on them after they come out of the washer. Ridiculous!

I bought this MMV4205BAB microwave thinking Maytag was a good brand and I wanted an over the range type. Problems began when it would stop in the middle of a cooking cycle. I called the repairman as it was under warranty. It was decided by the repairman that the weight of thing was too great for its thin frame, not letting the door close correctly. I got a new one and it, from day one, would make a shorting sound every time anything was cooked, on the stove top, under it, while it was on. It finally just shorted out. I have a Maytag washer and dryer that are also junk. So, needless to say, Maytag, 3 strikes and youre out. I will never have another Maytag product and I let others know what a great product it is.

I like my fridge. Its a old one and still works. Its been very reliable and have never had a problem with. I dont think I would ever purchase a different brand for Maytag is the brand for me. They last for years.

I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I will now take the repair money and go buy a new washer. You can be sure that it absolutely will not have the Maytag/Whirlpool brand!

I purchased my first Maytag dishwasher and it was recalled as being a fire hazard. I was offered to have it repaired or pay for an upgrade (approximately $200). I chose to pay and upgrade because I dont want a fire hazard in my home. After my paid replacement, I received a recall on the new dishwasher regarding the same issue (different model) and I chose once again to pay and upgrade (thinking that if I spent $700, I wouldnt have a problem). In less than two months of installation, the dishwasher died in the middle of a cycle. Filled with water, I bailed it out and called Maytag. I told them that I wanted a new one and they told me that I was past the replacement period. They sent a service man out and he stated that it was a problem with model # MDB7709AWB2 and serial # F03002958. He said that it was easy to fix and said he had done it several times. So now, within less than 1 month before my warranty is expired, the dishwasher did the same thing--it died in the middle of the cycle and wont turn on. I called Maytag and they told me that they would send out a third party repair company (JD Appliance) but I would have to wait for four days. I contacted Maytag and said that I was concerned about the dishwasher breaking down again for the same problem (bi metal unit blew). This is the second time it happened. Jeremy, the repair man, said that the first replacement was not installed properly and they should have replaced the entire unit. He stated that it was a common problem with that model, as did the first repairman in Dec 2010. When I spoke to a supervisor named Kia at 800-344-1274, she stated that they had no known issues with this model. I said that it was not what the repairman told me as well as the Maytag dispatcher. They both said that the heat sensor (Bi Metal Thermal Unit Part No. W10258275) goes up and has to be replaced because it is overly sensitive. If you are out of warranty, it costs around $200 to have it fixed. I told Kia and she said that it was not documented in her file, therefore, it never happened. I want to know my consumer rights to address this issue. I have paid for (on 3 occasions) a new dishwasher and have continuous issues that cost me money. I want an assurance like an extended warranty, free of charge, for the dishwasher that has already been repaired twice for the same exact problem. I have the original part that was improperly replaced to prove that it wasnt replaced to specifications, therefore, blowing it again. I was told by Kia that Maytag does not compensate or replace their products unless deemed not repairable by the technician. It doesnt matter how many time the same problem occurs. I would appreciate your attention to this matter.

Refrigerator failed in less than 7 years. In August 2005, I purchased a new Maytag side-by-side refrigerator to match the Maytag appliances (stove, microwave and dishwasher) in the new house provided by builder. In October 2011, I called a repairman because of noise. The relay switch was replaced for $179. Now, I am told the compressor and defrost circuit board need to be replaced for over $700. I will never buy another Maytag appliance or Whirlpool. They make and sell crap and dont stand behind their crappy products.

Maytag WASHING MACHINE MVWC200XW - Will not clean our clothing. We have been tolerant of Maytags disregard for the people who have trusted their product and name over many years. No longer will we purchase a new Maytag or Whirlpool product. They say third time is the charm but I can not afford to take the chance. I wish them luck, they will need it.

We have a Maytag Neptune washer we purchased new in 2001. The Neptune was useless on My mechanic clothes, but good for delicates and blankets so we have an old style washer to clean my regular clothes. The Neptune was at work on a blanket when we smelled it burning. With it unplugged, I got around to investigating the situation and found the motor control was shorted and burned. I tried calling Maytag. I was asking about an upgraded part or recall. They didnt want to help. The representative was condescending and after I listened to her attitude, she said someone would be in touch. NOTHING. Now I see these suits and I guess I understand. My house could have burned down - they dont care. Maytag is garbage and Im sorry I ever thought otherwise.

My husband bought a washing machine in August 2019 and now it broke down a month ago. There is a sticker on it that the warranty is 10 years, but this warranty is for the motor and not for everything else. I read on the Internet what kind of error the machine gives me, it turned out to be either the motherboard or the front panel. I did not order the parts myself, called the service, in 5 minutes I had to pay 130 $ to he told me the same thing that I read in Google.... And he said that the repair would cost another 500$ part - 250$ and service fees to replace the front panel or the motherboard. Its ridiculous prices, so I find parts lil cheaper and ordered the motherboard myself, my husband installed it (there is nothing hard to do it) and the machine still gave the same error, I ordered the front panel for 220$ and the machine still gives the same error. Now front panel didnt respond at all, and this brand new panel... So I bet after I will pay to service they will tells me there is something else broken... Maytag??? NEVER AGAIN!So I send all part to the store, save money this way and now I buying a new one, when a year and a half ago I spent 1000$ on Maytag and the service is trying to rob me at the cost of a new machine, and no one gives me a guarantee after the service, I will not have a new one. The way out is possible to read more reviews and take a protective plan for 5 or more years so this is not your problem.

I have always loved Maytag but this top load washer is a bust. I purchased this higher dollar energy efficient washing machine to hopefully get the value out of it for years to come. Model MVWC565F. 4.2 Cu Ft. I use good quality liquid laundry detergent. I launder adult clothing (including business casual wear), sheets, towels and pet blankets. Occasionally the 20+ something children do their laundry while home. I often have dry spots on my clothes where they never got actually wet. I switched to only using the deep water cycle; however, this does not immerse the load in water. The smaller my load the less likely to get clean. Ive adapted to only have large loads but I still do not feel my clothes are getting clean. I often have to run the load a second time to not only remove ordinary day-of-wearing smells (very noticeable in socks for example) but to get them all wet and free of soapy/linty-like spots left on the clothes from the washer (most notable on black leggings, dress pants, etc). I always do my towels and bedding separate from daily clothing, so this is not coming from having a mixed load. I have also noticed that the load takes much longer (up to 2 hours) for my washing cycle. How is this energy efficient? It uses less water but more electricity? I miss my old fully-immerse-in-water washing machine that washed in under an hour! Love the dry that I bought with this but not the washing machine!! I do not recommend this washing machine!!

I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

Bought a Maytag front load washer and dryer, it rattled and shook from day 1, they have come out 3 times in 1 month to fix that, now it wont even spin. This will be the 4th day of work I have had to miss, and all they say is, We have to send someone out to repair. Sorry. Do not purchase their products!! They dont care.

We purchased both a new Maytag washer & dryer in 2011. Our dryer, Model #7000XG1 all of the sudden started thumping when we were drying our laundry. After we called a technician to come out, he stated we had a crack in our drum. How in the heck does that happen in 4 years time and only laundering for 2 people? Of course this steel drum should not wear out before the other parts, but it did. Since there is a backorder on the replacement drum, it makes you wonder if this problem is wider than it seems. Also, Maytag would do nothing for us other than offer us the purchase of a new dryer at a discounted rate good for only 7 days of their offer. Seriously, how about standing behind your product? And, then again, why would we be enticed to spend that kind of money on the same type of product that has flaws? Uh, duh Maytag or Whirlpool. Silly fools you are.

Our Maytag dryer is only, maybe, 3 years old. I do not dry towels, jeans or heavy sweatshirts in it (I line dry and then soften up in dryer). I clean the lint filter each time. Our heating element has gone for the second time. The first time it cost $200-250 to repair. It is so sad that our appliances are not made to last as they did. Or is it just Maytag? You can be sure we will not buy another Maytag item. I am looking into recalls at this time.

Freezer does not freeze well. Causes most our food to get freezer burned. We tried turning it up and down but made no difference. Actually went and bought a separate freezer for meats.

We purchased our home five years ago. We bought a new Maytag oven and fridge/freezer. Within one year, the oven control went out. Then a few months later, the heating element went out. Within two years, our fridge/freezer went out. I purchased Maytag products because of the commercial where the Maytag repairman is doing nothing. I will never purchase a Maytag product again.

We bought a Maytag washer in 1987. It worked beautifully for years. The Maytag Centennial Washer we have now is sub-standard. It takes a full hour or more to wash one load. No quick wash feature. Today I filled the washer with soap, clothes, and pushed the button to fill it. It filled and inexplicably drained, wasting my time, water, and laundry soap. I regret buying this washer.

We purchased the washing machine (MVWB400VQO) on July 9, 2009. Now we must buy a new washing machine as this one is apparently beyond repair, or else the repair costs will far exceed what it would cost to purchase a new machine. We are completely disgusted with its failure, as we paid $822.36, with the delivery fee and the tax. We expected that this machine would last for years, but here we are, 42 months later, having to again invest in a washer. Now that we have a computer and are able to browse your performance reports, we wish we had been able to read them before, in which case we never ever would have bought it at all.Yesterday it spewed water all over our basement, flooding things that should not get wet, providing an atmosphere for encouragement of mold and rust. The motor is gone as the housing is cracked, which was caused by debris getting into it, something that we could not have known or prevented. This is very poor design by your company, in our opinion. We called some repairmen, all useless as apparently the whole machine would have had to be completely dismantled at a rate of $84.00 per hour, and he could not tell us how many hours that would take, to say nothing of finding a new motor for the thing.We will never again buy a Maytag product as they are expensive with a too-short shelf life and there’s nobody who cares when you need help for something that should not have happened at all. I understand Maytag is really not the good old dependable Maytag we used to know and love at all, but rather is now owned by the Whirlpool Corporation, whose products we will never purchase either.I know why that lovable old Maytag repairman we used to see on TV is retired. Its because he could no longer stand the quality (or lack thereof) of the appliances that you are now producing. He is probably home, hiding his head somewhere and hoping nobody will recognize him. I love it. It has a big tub. It has no agitator. It uses a lot less water. Many cycles.perfect machine. I would recommend this to everyone. Also top loading. Would never get another front loader. They arent worth it.

Maytag Dryer is a complete piece of junk. First repair at 13 months, second repair at 15 months. I would throw it away but like a fool I bought the washer. Fingers crossed. Stay away from Maytag, total junk.

We bought the fridge (MFF2258VEW2) about 5 years ago. We have had nothing but problems. First it was the water leaking all over the floor. The repair man said the drain tube in the back was too small. That was replaced. Then the door gaskets were replaced. The doors still do not stay closed. Again water leaking all over the floor. The bottom of freezer had ice all over it. I had to take the back of the fridge and freezer. For 2 days I had a fan blowing on to defrost it. The door shelves are cracked and falling off. I had to pay for the hooks that hold up the bottom shelf 5 times and again they are broken. The long narrow slide out shelf is broken. Food in the back of the fridge are freezing. I have contacted Maytag a lot and they will not fix the problems. At the same time I bought the fridge I bought a Maytag top load HE washer and a drier. I had to throw out the washing machine last year. It would have cost me too much money to fix it. I will never EVER buy Maytag again.

Purchased the very top of the line Maytag Washer and dryer.. Top loader MVWB955FC1 washer. I got this huge washer and dryer because I was tired of paying $20 to have my Cal King comforter laundered. Bad idea.. Yes the comforter fits easily in the drum of the washer but it does not even come close to clean.. Why no agitator..? It leaves soap all over it in addition to the dirty laundry smell.. The dryer is better but it takes at least 3 cycles of taking it out and un-wadding it to get it all the way dry. Now my wife just hangs it on the line.It has been just over 3 years Feb 2017 since I bought both units from HH Gregg.. Now the top of the washer around the soap dispensing orifice has rust bubbling up worse than my 25 year old unit I put by the curb.. Maytag support is no help.. “Sorry rust is normal and it your unit is out of warranty”. I asked If this would have been covered under warranty.. NO!.. Not unless you report it within 30 days.. We only use it once or twice a week.. What terrible service..

I bought a full kitchen of Maytag appliances when I bought a new house in 2009. I thought it was a reliable company. Id always gone with GE before. I couldnt get the packing sticker off the oven after trying everything to remove it, so the oven bottom is virtually ruined. The timer on the oven dings once and stops; dinner burns if Im not right there to hear it. I was told by customer service thats the way it works, so I had to buy a separate timer. I am now replacing my 2 ½-year-old dishwasher because the control panel has once again stopped working. It cost me $275 to fix the first time and it lasted less than 3 months. I will never buy Maytag again! I got over 20 years of service from my GE appliances.

I purchased the Maytag metal interior two years ago, the very first year I had to replace the control panel board... Now, the panel went out again, after calling the Maytag executive office, they finally sent me the part, telling me I had to pay to get it fixed. That was just three months ago... Front load washer unit does not respond to control inputs. I have called Maytag service and support. One can find a repair or maintenance manual. Im in a smaller market so there is limited service. Maytag service and online support is terrible. Maytag stores are fronts for independent service companies. Its probably okay, but misleading. Everyone wants to order the main controller board. It would be good to have a maintenance manual.

I have had this range (Maytag MER8775AS electric range) for 36 days. The hot surface indicator light doesnt come on (bulb is fine) and the heat elements turn on and off on their own when I am cooking. 36 days! This thing is junk! I am going to see if I can return it, even though it is outside the 30-day window.

When purchasing a microwave for our kitchen the Maytag MMV4203DB00 had all the functions I wanted. Just after a year its quite cooking. The fan would still run but not heat anything. I called Maytag and was told basically, tough luck. I said something about Maytag, that it was supposed to be a great brand and should last longer than 1 year. The part to fix it plus labor was going to cost nearly as much as a new microwave to replace it. Now, the microwave has started to turn on by itself. Customer service was very rude and came off with a we dont really care attitude. I will never buy Maytag again.

We purchased this dryer a Maytag Model MEDC200XW3 about 10 months ago. The dryer slowly over time began to take longer to dry our clothes. After watching it work and seeing that the airflow in the tube was not flowing well, I noticed the lint trap was not functioning well enough and over 50% of the lint was escaping the lint trap and plugging up the exhaust vent. I asked Maytag for a service to repair my dryer and explained my findings. The service person on the phone wanted to send me a lint brush. I told her to send a repairman. The repairman said that all lint traps let lint by and said it was my problem. Well today theyre closed and I cant even leave a message. Now I know why the Maytag repairman is the loneliest man in town...

I purchased an over the range microwave (OTR), boxing day 2018. It failed January 2021. It worked great before failing. The issue with Maytag/Whirlpool is their service. I told them before they came out that I was only interested in having it fixed if it could be done that day. They checked that they had the parts and said they could do it, so I moved forward with the appointment. Well they didnt fix it, and said that they need to order a part, which they said would take several weeks. They are trying to bill me the service fee $167, and expect me to wait a month or possibly more to get the part and fix the microwave. Now Im faced with having to pay a service fee for something not fixed and buying a new microwave. Lesson: Never try to repair, cheaper to buy a new product. Other lesson, never buy Maytag or Whirlpool product again. Despite what is on their website and advertising, they have terrible customer service.

Maytag French Door Refrigerator (Counter depth) #MFC2061KES14 which cost over $2,500 dollars is a DUD and the company is EVIL. The freezer leaks all over the floor and the company will not stand by their product. When I called the company they said they have had to upgrade a part called the drain tube kit because of this problem but did not put a recall. They know that this problem will occur just about the time the warranty runs out. I bet the wife of the CEO of this company has a very expensive good brand of refrigerator. Stand by your product and pay for the repairs and labor to get it fixed and put out a recall. LIFE IN AMERICA!!!

Purchased dishwasher Mod # MDB7749SBM1 thinking it was Maytag (lonely repairman) in June 2013 from Home Depot. Cost new over $1,000. As of March 2016, three service calls, two of which required replacement of the control panel. Now the control panel has failed a third time and we are told by Whirlpool (parent company of Maytag dishwashers) they will not cover the repair. They have offered a discount for a new dishwasher. Since that did not seem like a very good option to me, they offered to let me pay for current service plus a year for over $350.00. I was sad to discover that they are the manufacturer of most dishwashers available at your local home store dealer (Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Roper, Amana). VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

I bought a new Maytag stove and it is less than two years old and the oven has already quit working. It only has a one year warranty and will cost about $200 to fix. I am very dissatisfied with what I thought was a good product.

I have had a number of Maytag washing machines in my life and have never disliked a machine as much as the last one I purchased! The bleach dispenser is awful and any bleach that happens to land on the outer rim has ruined many clothes. I took them to my dealer to show him the ruined clothes and was told bleach does not evaporate do must be wiped off each time. With no soap dispenser I find I have to put the soap in first and keep trying to fill the machine some before I add the clothes. This takes forever but if dont do this my clothes are stained. I purchased this machine on April 11, 2017 and can not afford to go buy another washer at this time. The Dealer can not help me and when I called Maytag they were not interested! Buyer beware!

I inherited the Maytag Bravo washing machine when I got married... should have stuck with my LG! The Bravo does not clean clothes properly, I have to wash fewer items in each wash and wash them on the power cycle! Wasting time, water, and electricity! Will be purchasing a different brand!

Approx. 3 year old Maytag Dishwasher Control Panel lights blinking with Dishwasher inoperable. Repair part (new Control Panel) costs approx. $180 plus tax. When you add the cost of a service repairman you are nearly at the price of a new dishwasher. I am completely unhappy with this Maytag Product and will never buy another Maytag Product again.

I bought the washer dryer combo. Dryer already broken. Washer is very loud when it changes gears. Would not recommend the washer or dryer.

Terrible! First and last frontload washer I will ever have. Seems like every other load will not spin clothes dry no matter how many times you rebalance. You have to add more clothes or take some out dripping wet to finish the cycle. Most annoying appliance I have ever owned.

Not only did I buy a Maytag washer for the brand name and trusted longevity, but because they were always a good product in the past. When my Maytag EZ-Epic washer drum failed after only owning it for two years, there was no effort made by any associate to cover this under any sort of warranty at all. To replace this part, I was quoted so much money that I could go out and buy a brand new one for the cost of the repair for this faulty part. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way I was treated because the so called product was out of warranty and I will never buy a Maytag product again. Shame on Maytag for ever selling off to such a fraudster of a company.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher July 2013, installed August 2013. Stopped working Oct 2, 2014. Called Maytag and they offered to let me buy a service pan for around $300. No thanks, stupid Im not. I also sent an email. Have not heard back but Im sure Im still out of luck. According to the California class action suit regarding the Maytag control panels, Maytag is saying there are no problems with them. Wish we all had some power to make them see otherwise. Will I ever buy a Maytag product again. No. They would be much better off keeping their customers happy rather than spending tons of money on ads trying to get new customers. Since Maytag is owned by Whirlpool, they will not get my money either.

6 week old High Efficiency Washer leaves lint and soap lines. Ive tried deep water wash plus the 2 rinse settings and I still have to wash the load twice to get rid of the lint lines and soap lines. Ive also tried every combination of settings to no avail and I follow the guide to a tee because this machine actually weighs the clothes to determine the water level. Maytag customer service was polite but useless. Im assuming its the poor design but customer service says I will be charge for the warranty service call if no problem is found. Maytag, another fine company down the drain. PS, parts are made in China.

This Maytag refrigerator is very nice.. Sleek black with double doors and ice two ways and filtered water on the door which is very convenient. The filters are expensive but they last up to six months so that part isn’t too bad.

Purchased in 2013, they have replaced the control panel twice in 2014 and AGAIN 2015, now WAITING for the replacement control panel AGAIN. Maytag claims there are no recalls on this dishwasher model number. But after reading all these reviews why is there not a recall. Maytag is of no help when you call. They claim as long as they keep replacing the control panel it still can be repaired. This can be extremely costly WHEN THE CONTROL CONSOLE PANEL keeps breaking. Obviously there is a major problem with this part and why is Maytag not recognizing this issue.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher (model mdb4709aww1) from our local appliance store. A little over one year after purchase, the control panel (part w10254834) stopped working. Our appliance store replaced it. They charged us for the part but not for a service call. Its been two years since the new control panel was replaced and it just stopped working. Now, we have to pay $275.00 for the new part and service call. My previous dishwasher lasted twenty years and we never had a problem. I thought Maytag was a quality product. Sadly mistaken!!

Dishwasher worked fine for the first 12.5 months, and lo and behold 1 month after the warranty expired, I had my first repair, a new motor. A few months later, I had my second problem, the thermostat. A few months later, I called Maytag because I thought that the control panel was probably shot (based on my previous Maytag for which I replaced the control panel 4 times, before Maytag finally agreed to get me a new dishwasher). At that point they sold me an extended warranty which for 300 they would make this repair, and any other repairs for the next year. They have been out 7, yes 7 times, in 4 months. They would probably be out more often, but since it has been difficult to get a repair person out here, more time than not Im washing dishes by hand. Their customer service is horrible, their products worse. Still waiting for the dishwasher to be repaired. They wont send out a different company, even though they have been out here 7 times, and keep coming back. Even when it is repaired, they will not cover the cost to replace the soap bin, the racks, the wheels on the rack, and all the little pieces made out of the same quality plastic as the stuff I buy at the Dollar Store (except when that stuff breaks, it doesnt ruin my hardwood floors). Dont buy a Maytag, roll up some $100 bills and light a match, because you can look at a pretty flame and wont raise your blood pressure dealing with their customer service.

Received this Maytag dishwasher model MDW7749SBW1 as a gift from my son in June 2013 when my old dishwasher finally quit. January 2014, the soap/rinse aid dispenser did not work. Called Maytag and they sent repairman who replaced the part. Still did not work so repairman said another part was not communicating with the dispenser so he replaced that part. Worked fine. No charge since it was under warranty. Now its July 2014 and the touch panel doesnt work. Called for repair and was told since it is out of warranty, it will cost about $350 to repair. I called Maytag about this and said that I had a defective appliance. I was told that since I didnt buy the extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. I mentioned my last Maytag lasted 25 years and had only two minor repairs so I didnt see any reason to buy an extended warranty. I thought I was buying a good product. I was told shed register my complaint. Waiting for my repairman to come out tomorrow and see what he can do. I also have a Maytag stove. Wonder how long that will last?

For families where people work in gardens, work on vehicles and get just plain dirty doing things anywhere outdoors these agitator-less machines are not for you or me. Ive had mine for two years and I truly dislike it (Model MVWC425BW1). With different products I scrub dirt and grease stains on pants before they are put into the washer, scrub again when they come out of the wash and then scrub and wash again a few more times but I cannot get all the dirt out. I now work more on laundry and harder since I got this machine.This agitator-less machine is designed for people who dont get really dirty - just remove everyday perspiration and household grime. I think this machine was designed by engineers who have never done daily laundry for any length of time and theoretically thought it would clean really dirty clothes. They were really wrong! Having done laundry for 50 years, I now know that an agitator cleans better. It would be nice if other women and I, who have done laundry for years, could be on focus groups about developing new washing machines.

The glass shelves stop 2 1/2 inches from the back of the refrigerator. Things keep falling down in back. I have a counter depth. Cant afford to lose any space. Freezer poorly designed for space compared to one I had before.

We purchased a $945 Maytag 6.4 Cu. ft. self-cleaning freestanding electric convection range which was part of the stainless-steel package for $3600 + a $600-dollar 5 warranty. I did the research and found a solid 4.0 rating, so I went for it. Now I wish I never wasted my money and time. My 5-year warranty for all 4 appliances expired on 8/17 and now everything starts failing, how convenient. The oven will not heat past 340-350 degrees which won’t work with 90% of the stuff I bake. I called Maytag to see if it can be fixed and was quoted $400 for the issue but nothing else. I can pick up a new stainless-steel oven with the save features on a holiday sale for $500. Don’t waste your money on warranties!

I am so sorry to see so many people having the same problem. Maytag Dishwasher Model #MDB7749AWM2 purchased 12-10-11. Control Panel needs replaced (260.00...service call, part and labor). Writing this as Ive spent the last 20 mins on hold with Maytag. Im demanding them to make this right. Ive been told by Trisha at Maytag not to believe all these post as people tend to exaggerate the problems. Anybody have info on class action lawsuit? ?

I wish I had never bought a Maytag refrigerator! Nothing but problems. The ice maker does not work, water leaked 3 times onto our wood floor. Finally, I disconnected the control panel so I have an ice/water dispenser that is useless just like the refrigerator. I dont think the Maytag man is sitting around from lack of work, maybe laziness. Dont buy a Maytag.

This oven has been used so very seldom that I didnt feel I could rate it until now. We use the oven 1-2 times a week since purchasing it in March of 2018. There hadnt been any reason to use the Self Cleaning part of the oven until last week. I have had a oven with self-cleaning for 20 years and the oven went out so we purchased this one because of its sleek look and features. However last week I decided to use the self-cleaning setting on it and came home after being gone all day to find that the house smelled like it had a fire burning in it. I ran to the oven to find the whole inside cover in a white powdery substance. It looked like a snow blizzard had gone on inside of it. I was use to a small amount of white residue being inside the oven after it finished and it just wiped right up. We spent hours vacuuming it out then scrubbing it down with vinegar water and a sponge with a scouring pad on it. The casserole spill was still on the bottom, most of the enamel is gone and the glass will not clean off. I did not use any chemicals in the oven prior to turning it to the self-clean mode, I believe that it overheated and burnt the enamel off and distorted the glass. Whirlpool offered to send me a cleaning kit. I told them that would do no good. I had already scrubbed and used a razor blade to try and clean the bottom and the glass and them sending me different cleaning supplies would not fix the fact that 80% of the inside protective coating on the oven is gone. Now it is a porous surface. A Serviceman was scheduled and he called prior to arrival today and asked me to explain what was going on with my oven. I explained and he said I can almost guarantee that Whirlpool will say that it is cosmetic and they only cover cosmetic for 3 months and that I will have to pay for a $100.00 service call. This is a load of crap. This coating is part of the oven to keep it clean and protect the metal from the high heat of baking in it. This is not cosmetic feature like the outside stainless steel finish or the black trim decor. The inside doesnt look pretty. It is a function. See the photos below. Whirlpool Range Item # 805150. I purchased Maytag gas range in March 2011 at Home Depot, Model No. MGR5605WWO. I received the product in May 2011. The porcelain on the grates chips away leaving large grooves in grate, which affects cooking efficiency, (the fire burns erratically). First, I called 1-800-688-9900. The grates were replaced. And then same problem, it was replaced again, and again the same problem. The warranty to cover stove was extended by 6 months. The enamel on the round magnetic cover for the burner is also chipping away. I was told that this chipping of the enamel is a cosmetic problem and does not affect the functionality of the stove problem.A repair technician was sent out at my request to see firsthand the problem grates. I was told by him that if it occurred again, the manufacturer needs to be made aware of the defective grates. He noted that the enamel covering on the grates was not uniform. I have been told by Maytag supervisor today that she will get back to me within 3-5 days and let me know what is going to be done. I have had gas ranges before, but this is the first time this problem has occurred and its continuation is unacceptable. Is there anything further I can do to ensure I have stove grates that do not chip continuously?

I feel its kind of cheap. The interior is all plastic which doesnt look shiny and clean as it use to be when it was new. Not efficient in cleaning. Can see still dirt spots in some of the washed dishes.

Bought a Maytag refrigerator/freezer 18 months ago. The freezer went bad. The first repair guy said it needed a new computer board which wasnt covered. Called Maytag, they wanted another repair service to look at it. He said it needed a new evaporator. We have now spent $250 to be told the repair will cost another $500. Maytag will make a goodwill gesture because we are a nonprofit business to cover the part only so we will still be out another $300. This is unacceptable for a relatively new Maytag. Obviously they can no longer be counted on to back their equipment. Very disappointing.

This happens to be a commercial one - I dont know why; the landlord bought it. It will not do just 1 or 2 items. I would need this for when I have a very muddy towel from the dog & dont want to put anything else in with it; or with a newly purchased item that I want to wash by itself. It gets stuck on the wash cycle & will not continue. Then I have an item(s) that is soaking wet, which I dont want to put into the dryer. And in the winter, I cant put it outside. I did an online chat about this & was told not to just put one or 2 items in the washer. What??? Im 68 years old; have been doing wash for well over 50 years & have NEVER had this problem. I dont know if this applies to all Maytags since this is the only one Ive ever had, but I would definitely not recommend this product!!!

Replaced an old Glenwood gas stove with this Consumer reports top rated Maytag. The boiler doesn’t work as well as we’d like, but after more than 20 years, no major issues. My wife & I both cook, & as with most things, I’m happier with it than she is.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher (model MDB7609AWW1) from Sears on 09/11/2009. Its control panel failed twice in 3 years. In 02/2011, after just 17 months, the dishwasher wouldnt work. Nothing happened when I pressed the start button. I paid $294.39 ($129 for a new control panel plus labor) to have it fixed. Now, 17 months after the control panel was replaced, it has again crapped out with the same problem. I see by all the complaints here that this is a common problem. I wish I had read all these complaints before I had the control panel replaced the first time. Maytag, shame on you! Never again! I called Maytag and Sears, and as you would expect, they said, Sorry, its past the warranty period. When I buy my next dishwasher, it will not be a Maytag and it will not be from Sears.

I purchased a top load Maytag washer the spring of 2019. My clothes come out partially dry, with a film/residue, and debris left on them. I was told that they use considerably less water; however there is not sufficient water to wash away small amounts of anything left on clothes. I have contacted Maytag 3 different times. Each time my concerns have been dismissed. The only solid advice they gave me was to use less soap, which hasnt changed anything. They also told me to clean my clothes before I put them in the washer (we have no children at home; Im not talking about really dirty loads). They told me there was nothing they could do, and I was just stuck with the washer. I am completely dissatisfied with this product and the Maytag service. I would not recommend their washer or their service. The dryer works just fine.

Bought a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot about 2 years ago. Like everyone else we are having leaking problems from the freezer drawers. I wonder if anyone has had it repaired and whether it was repaired

It doesnt agitate enough to move clothes around. Doesnt put enough water in tub, even on deep fill just barely gets to the top of clothes. Washed a shirt 3 times by myself to get dried mud off of it. 3 time it was washed bumy its self. Clothes do not to get as clean as they did in the old style washers that had good agitation and the agitator that was bigger than whats in these new ones. And water. Need water. We arent trying to dry clean. And even thats done with a liquid that totally covers clothes and moves around better than this garbage I have right now... Looking for an old washer to replace this one... HATE HATE HATE THIS WASHER.

Maytag Commercial # MVWB765FW0: My husband and I wanted to get rid of our GE front load. It was horrible. Even constant cleaning and leaving the door open all the time, our clothes still smelled like mildew and musty. My hubby wanted an LG and I said no way. As a little girl my mom had an old wringer washer and her first electric washer was a Maytag in the late 50s. She passed away in 2001 and in her lifetime she had 2 electric washing machines both were Maytags. They were so dependable and built to last so naturally I wanted a Maytag. Wrong! I am so disappointed. We purchased it in Sept of 2017 for $695. I was so excited the first time we used it. It was a little noisy, but living in the county and having a well we were glad it was an energy/water saver. The first couple of months it was so refreshing to have clothes that did not smell musty and mildewy. I noticed they were really wrinkled but I still iron anyway so it was not a big deal. However ironing over and over again on some items did not get rid of the wrinkles and the past 2 months I have been going thru lint rollers like crazy and it still does not come off. I have to use a slightly damp lint brush or go over the clothing with packing tape to get the lint off. It is horrible! I dont want my GE back but I dont want this one either! I wish I would have read reviews first and listened to my hubby. I wont ever have another Maytag and when this one goes I will certainly read reviews and go with something more dependable. Unfortunately for now we have wasted the money and it is ruining our clothes! I agree that we should all do the class action. There are just too many of us experiencing the same issues. Maytag should do right by the consumer! We have learned our lesson, review before you buy!

I do not like this Maytag Centennial Washer at all, I have had it for a year and a half and it just does not perform good at all. Most of the time the clothes still come out with dirt on them but what I am most mad about is the fact that it keeps leaving bleach spots on my clothes, several washes after I use the bleach. I will definitely not recommend this washer to anyone.

We purchased this model from Home Depot in February 2011. In July 2011, I found it full of water and dirty dishes after running a wash cycle. It was completely dead like it wasnt getting any power. I checked the fuses, etc. - nothing was wrong that I could find with the power supply. I called for a service tech that day and they sent someone out to check it. It was the control panel. They shipped me a new control panel and the tech came back to replace it under warranty. It worked great until July 2013. Again, it is full of water and dirty dishes, wont turn on and has no lights on the front panel. I called Maytag to get a service tech. The warranty is expired of course. They offered to sell me a replacement dishwasher at a discount for $409, Model # MDB7749SBW. Or I can buy an additional 1 year of warranty for $269. I also could buy a control board for about $150 online. None of these options is attractive right now, but hopefully if I get the new model, it will not have any issues... I wish they would just tell me it was a crap unit instead of giving me the option to either get a new one or pay for a useless warranty. I am fed up with this dishwasher. 2 control boards in 2 1/2 years is unacceptable and indicative of a defective unit or design. After reading the reviews here it appears to be a defective design.

My Maytag french door has worked steadily for 12 + years. It’s a basic model, ice maker in freezer. No door dispensers or electronics. I would buy it again.

We purchase a matching Maytag washer and dryer set and within the first three months our washer began to give us error codes and would not wash our clothes completely on any cycle. It was repaired and we began to have the same issues within the next couple of months. This all happened within the first year. We called customer service about extending our service warranty due to the multiple malfunctions of this washer. We were given the run around and, quite frankly, the attitude that this was not their problem. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT! Thank you customer service for ensuring that I will not be a repeat customer!

I bought a Maytag washer 3 years ago. Maytag gave me a number for one of their warranty service repair shops in my area. The first repair service doesnt even respond to my calls. The second repair service is a total ripoff. So in summary, Im stuck with a 3 year old washer that has a broken drive assembly that the warranty wont cover.

We purchased this new set of Neptune Washer and dryer at Lowes, in Yakima Washington in 2004, and now discover that there is a class action lawsuit due to the problems associated with mold, the pump, the motherboard, etc. Our washer is making horrendous noises when it spins, and the motherboard barely works at all. I trusted Maytag and bought this set and a stackable set at the same time. Yes, I am angry and will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool again.

Every 3 months, the freezer compartment needs to be dismantled to unclog the defrost drain hole. When this occurs, it dumps all the defrost all over the base of the freezer which then leaks water out of the freezer door all over the floor. Clearly a design flaw and Maytag will not acknowledge this but appliance repairman says these are notorious for this. A $1700 fridge shouldnt do this. Never will I buy a Maytag again, a complete POS.

I bought this dryer 3 years ago and the fuse has blown three times. The dryer gets really hot and blows a fuse. The entire back of the dryer is clean and free of lint, the hose on the back, and the ventilation pipe running out of the house are completely clear, but the dryer continues breaking down. The Whirlpool NC folks have been out here three times yet it has broken down once again. I should not have to purchase another dryer after only three years!

This Maytag (1979 model) is about as good as other dishwashers (I always rinse before placing in machine). It does have a lot more buttons that are not used than the last one I used (installed in the 1950s). Delayed start, choice of preheating water or not, choice of drying. Not big enough to do everything when have company and too big to use when no visitors present. When I am alone it takes 3 months to get enough to fill the machine and by that time they are getting moldy so most of the time I wash by hand. Black glass front with imposing row of controls across the top. I normally do not generate enough dirty dishes to warrant having a dishwasher. Since my wife died I have used the dishwasher two to three times a year.

Washer has plenty of functions for me to was even my work clothes. These saves me money and time. Washer leaves clothes clean and you can even wash your blankets.

Purchase in April 2010 on 12/31, motor and computer panel went out, not washing. I do not recommend this dishwasher cost to repair. Too expensive.

Yesterday I was using my washer (small load of clothes), I was with my baby in the laundry room when suddenly there was a horrible noise and the door of the washer opened, he hit my back, something fatal could have happened. I do not know how it happened but a piece of concrete was inside the drum. I do not want to imagine what would have happened if that piece came out and hurt my baby. I spoke to the company and explained what had happened to me, but they do not want to be responsible for what happened because the washer is in Tijuana (border with San Diego), I bought the washer in Pirch San Diego California in 2015. Maytag United States is responsible for this defect. Dont buy this model:mhw8100dc extra large capacity washer with steam and powerwash® system-4.5 cu. Ft.

I have a Maytag fridge/freezer model number MFF2557 10403089ER. The freezer keeps going out. The repairman replaced the computer board called a jazz board stating that the bulbs in the fridge part are too close to the board and the heat can cause the board to short out. He suggested switching bulbs to 25 watts which cannot be found for fridges. The freezer continues to go out and sometimes restarts itself or by flipping the breaker switch, brings it back. In the meantime, food is ruined. Yesterday, he put a new starter relay on the compressor stating that this series of fridge/ freezer has had a problem with the compressor and Maytag will not take responsibility for this. There is no recall at this time and we are waiting to see if this corrects the problem or if the freezer will continue to go out. Thank you for your help in this matter.

We purchased a high-end stainless steel interior/exterior unit in January 15. It is now July 15 and we have not been able to get any use out of it. Day 1 washer leaked. Full day off for service. Guy told us we were using the wrong soap. It leaked on the very next wash. Called again. They forgot to check the soap dispenser. Another service/day off. Leaked again! Another service call/day off. They replace the dispenser & seal. Now washer no longer leaks but the dishes are dirty and wet even days later. Another service call. Another new part. And now we are waiting for our 5th service call. We paid for a new unit and have a refurbished cobbled together piece of junk. Maytag stubbornly refuse to replace this unit.

On April 8, 2017 I was sitting in my Dining room with Dishwasher in the kitchen in cycle cleaning. All of a sudden I heard electrical sizzling and turned to see my Dishwasher was on fire. I got up and opened the door and my Husband shut off the circuit breaker for the Dishwasher. He raced to turn off water under sink and went to disconnect the dishwasher when all of a sudden hot water was shooting all over the place. I tried to catch in a bucket but it was so hot and shooting out hose fast. Kitchen and Dining room were then filled with water. He realized the turnoff under sink was installed at time of house built and cant be fixed without a lot of chopping up under cement.Well finally we cleaned up the mess with mop and towels and relieved neither one of us fell at our age. He unconnected the Dishwasher and secured outside. About 2010 there was a recall on this model Maytag. I reported it and a repair man came to change the cycle panel and said it would be fine, not. Yes almost 7 years later a fire occurred. Just glad we caught it in time without losing our lives or my house. Never, never again will I purchase a Maytag.
