I have had Maytags for 20 years and never have been disappointed before I bought the Centennial and it is junk. It doesnt even put enough water in to wash the clothes. After it breaks, I will never buy Maytag again. When did you guys start going down the drain literally? My clothes do not get cleaned. I live in the country and we all get dirty. We need a dependable washer and dont even get me started on the dryer. I thought maybe you would care enough to know.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Maytag stove purchased 15 years ago for about $500. Replaced mother board about 5 years ago which wasnt cheap, but otherwise, stove has performed with no problems and still looks and behaves like a new stove.Original review: Our 6-7 year old well cared for Maytag range oven recently stopped working. After a service call for diagnostics, it was determined the electronic module controlling the clock and all oven functions was dead. We were told by the Maytag service tech the module cost was 300$. That cost plus labor for less than an hour, plus the 60$ diagnostic visit came to almost 500$ which is close to cost of a new stove. The technician answered yes to my question, Do you replace a lot of these? He also said the cause may be power fluctuations making me think that surely there is a way to prevent this kind of failure. So, since the price seemed exorbitant, I wrote Maytag to inquire about causation/prevention, etc. I received a fairly prompt and polite reply with totally no explanation. I wrote another email with relatively the same results. I dont recommend buying an electronically controlled Maytag stove.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot on 5/17/11. It would run, then not run. It spoiled all the food not in the freezer and most of the food in the freezer. This happened early November, being less than six months old. My wife called on 11/8/11, they repaired it on 11/18/11. Ten days of no refrigerator and a lost of about $200 in spoiled food. The company would not pay for any of the money I lost for the spoiled food!

I purchased a washer & dryer from Lowes on December 3rd. On February 20th, my washer stopped filling up. I called customer service and had someone come out a few days later. The repairman said the sensor broke & it would take 10 days for part to come in. After 2 weeks, I tried calling repair company and they would not answer phone for Maytag, or me. Maytag called another service provider, and it will be another week before part comes in. Never could get in touch with anyone who was helpful! Now it’s been a month, and still not fixed!

I purchased a Maxima washer and dryer set, along with the pedestals. I had the set delivered to the new house the kids and I are moving into, but didnt use it for 2 weeks as we had not moved in yet. Guess what? I used the dryer 1 time and the drum stopped working. I called and got tech out. Motor is not working. They had to order a replacement, then back again to replace. Guess what? Less than a year later, same thing happened and another two visits from tech, motor was replaced. Get the pattern? And now, less than 2 years after purchasing and another two visits, motor drive and control board were ordered. They have not been installed yet. I have sent emails to Maytag and on the second one, they actually called me. The lady didnt think there was anything wrong with the fact that it broke after the FIRST use. Her reply to me was, But we fixed it... At this point, 2 years and 6 tech visits, three new motors and a control board, not to mention my time taking off from work and being held hostage waiting for the tech, they could have replaced it and saved themselves some money. They have lost all credibility. I am about to try regular mail to a supervisor. Wish me luck.

We purchased a new Maytag french door refrigerator and from day one had issues with the ice maker. After three replacements Maytag informed me that this was an inherent issues and no fix available. So we had a $2000+ refrigerator with a non-functioning ice maker. Our 20 year old Frigidaire continues to make ice with no issues. Then the control panel lights started blinking and evidently this is also a known problem and when I called Maytag to buy the part, they said SORRY we dont offer parts on our appliances over 6 years old. This is the worst piece of ** I have ever owned coupled with the lousiest customer service in the world. I will never buy another Maytag.

Back in late 2017 we paid over $800 to purchase a front loader Maytag washing machine from Lowes. Before the year long warranty was up, the control board/motherboard stopped functioning. Maytag sent a repairman who tried to blame the problem on us even though he appeared well aware of the problems with Maytag/Whirlpool. After appealing to Lowes, they intervened and Maytag agreed to replace the washer with a higher model. (This process took many phone calls and a great deal of frustration). One year later, shortly after the warranty expired on the second washer, the control board again stopped functioning properly on the second Maytag washer. Since then, I have been rebooting the machine, starting the cycle over again numerous times and doing everything within my power to keep the washer going. The cost of replacing the control board is outrageous. Soon I will replace this machine with an LG with an extended service warranty. No more Maytag or Whirlpool products for me! They are once great American corporations that have fallen apart and are riddled with dishonesty and greed. I guess these corporations only mirror what is going on in this country and government.

Internet stated refrigerators should last a minimum of 13 yrs and up. Mine is less than 5 yrs. old, a Maytag 25 cu. ft. French Door Bottom Mount Ref. with freezer on the bottom (MFF2558VEW). Had to replace upper gasket in less than 1 yr. of purchase and needs another now (not affecting the sealing aspect on doors, more aesthetic on upper door thin flap that tears easily).Drain plug & configuration for drain was a known manufacturers defect, but cost me money to replace as 3 yr. extended warranty expired. Lower gasket had to be replaced in yr. 4 of ownership, bottom of freezer was producing a sheet of ice that needed removal every week. Normal settings is #3 for both top and bottom, worked fine for 4 yrs at this setting.Last month irregular cooling started to occur- top down to 52 degrees and bottom freezer below -20 degrees - ice cream hard as rock, have to defrost each time in microwave. Maytag repairman said could find nothing wrong, but try emptying entire contents and unplug for 24 hrs. I could hear pieces of ice melting and dropping throughout the evening. Next morning towels I had put around frig were saturated with water. Restarted frig after 24 hrs. and was working fine for 5 wks. This week same exact problem returned so I did the same thing only this time I had to go out and buy a small chest freezer as I had a full one in my Maytag and no place to put frozen food. It is nearing 24 hrs. and no water has appeared on the floor nor did I hear any ice melting and dropping - so dont know what to do. Will call repair man again and see what he suggests. As soon as I can afford another $1400 frig (this was on sale for $1,002 after discounts, but I will buy a less expensive one this time) I will purchase another brand with NO French doors and no bottom freezer. I loved my frig the first 3 yrs. under warranty, but now causing me too much physical problems having to empty and restock frig for repairs. I have a Tappan Frigidaire in the garage that is from 1998 - I bought from a neighbor who was moving and it has been working fine for 16 yrs. with no repairs. They dont make them like they used to!

I purchased a Maytag made by Whirlpool in China about two years ago. The timer went out about nine months later. It went out again about 3 months after that and I paid to replace two sensors in addition. The washer still stops during a cycle at various times; it might be pausing or spinning or filling. When it finishes washing, sometimes it refills and leaves everything wet. I purchased from Deweys in San Clemente and they have tried to service but this is a real lemon. I will never buy anything again made by Whirlpool. I will research and find out what companies have been bought by them so as to avoid this. I note online that there are several hundred complaint problems about Whirlpool so they had to buy a company with a good reputation and ruin their product.

The Maytag Bravo Washing Machine was sold as the top of the line. In reality it is very difficult to work with for three specific reasons. First, the spin speed is too high causing the clothes to be wound into tight balls causing pilling and the need to iron everything from t-shirts to workout pants. Second, the spin speed is so high that you can only put a few towels in the washer at a time or the machine goes off kilter several times a cycle. Finally, if you lower the spin speed the items take forever to dry. I used this for less than 30 days and tried to return it but Maytag would not take it back. The only cycle type I can use is the rapid wash unless I want to spend all day washing and drying one load. I hate this washer more than I can describe and will NEVER purchase another Maytag product. It absolutely ruins your clothes and Maytag takes no responsibility for making a very bad product.

I purchased my first Maytag dishwasher and it was recalled as being a fire
I purchased my first Maytag dishwasher and it was recalled as being a fire hazard. I was offered to have it repaired or pay for an upgrade (approximately $200). I chose to pay and upgrade because I dont want a fire hazard in my home. After my paid replacement, I received a recall on the new dishwasher regarding the same issue (different model) and I chose once again to pay and upgrade (thinking that if I spent $700, I wouldnt have a problem). In less than two months of installation, the dishwasher died in the middle of a cycle. Filled with water, I bailed it out and called Maytag. I told them that I wanted a new one and they told me that I was past the replacement period. They sent a service man out and he stated that it was a problem with model # MDB7709AWB2 and serial # F03002958. He said that it was easy to fix and said he had done it several times. So now, within less than 1 month before my warranty is expired, the dishwasher did the same thing--it died in the middle of the cycle and wont turn on. I called Maytag and they told me that they would send out a third party repair company (JD Appliance) but I would have to wait for four days. I contacted Maytag and said that I was concerned about the dishwasher breaking down again for the same problem (bi metal unit blew). This is the second time it happened. Jeremy, the repair man, said that the first replacement was not installed properly and they should have replaced the entire unit. He stated that it was a common problem with that model, as did the first repairman in Dec 2010. When I spoke to a supervisor named Kia at 800-344-1274, she stated that they had no known issues with this model. I said that it was not what the repairman told me as well as the Maytag dispatcher. They both said that the heat sensor (Bi Metal Thermal Unit Part No. W10258275) goes up and has to be replaced because it is overly sensitive. If you are out of warranty, it costs around $200 to have it fixed. I told Kia and she said that it was not documented in her file, therefore, it never happened. I want to know my consumer rights to address this issue. I have paid for (on 3 occasions) a new dishwasher and have continuous issues that cost me money. I want an assurance like an extended warranty, free of charge, for the dishwasher that has already been repaired twice for the same exact problem. I have the original part that was improperly replaced to prove that it wasnt replaced to specifications, therefore, blowing it again. I was told by Kia that Maytag does not compensate or replace their products unless deemed not repairable by the technician. It doesnt matter how many time the same problem occurs. I would appreciate your attention to this matter.

In May 2007, I bought a matching Maytag Neptune washer Model MAH5500 and dryer. I also bought the 3-year extended warranty. Approximately 4 years later, actually 1 month after the warranty had expired, the washer started to get very loud and sounded like a jet engine taking off. I called Brennen Repair Service in Midland, Michigan. The repair man came out and said he did not even have to look at the washer. He knew what was wrong. The bearings were going in the machine. He said I could fix it for approximately $600 or just run it till it quits. I was furious. I called Maytag and explained my issue and was told that there was not a recall and they could do nothing to help me. They even told me that they had not had any complaints of this nature regarding this model. I told them they were full of it. I know of at least 4 people in my family and workplace that have had to replace the Maytag front loader piece of ** washing machine. I think Maytag should stick behind their product with all the complaints out there. I would like to shove my washer through their front window. I previously owned a Maytag washer for 25 years and had not one issue. It ran perfectly. I will never buy another Maytag product nor will anyone in my family. Maytag, you suck. Your service and reputation is appalling.

If you have a second floor laundry room, DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT acquire this washing machine!!! The Bravo MCT model washer is TOO loud (during spinning cycle), and for some reason, the clothes come out all tangled up. Some cycles are a waste of a cycle, and most cycles take a bit longer than my former washer. I miss the cycle choices I used to have on my former GE Profile washer (GE does not make that model anymore hence my changing brands). For the most part, clothes come out clean; thats why I give it a two-star rating instead of one. The dryer: Must dry every load in low heat so it doesnt come out extra crispy and wrinkled up. Although I generally have to run a second drying cycle, low heat does work great and the clothes come out ready to be folded/put away.

Bought a Maytag Washer & Dryer and after only 4 years the front panel went...cost to replace part only $653.55. After expressing concern about the price Maytag cut the cost of the part in half - now installed $475.00. Disposable dryer. Choked on it and decided to go ahead with the repair. Part was to be in in a week and it is now been a month. Maytag/Parts supplier no idea where the part is and doesnt return phone calls. Have to use the laundromat (family of 5). More money out of pocket. Not to mention time. Called Maytag again to complain about the service and having to pay more money out of pocket to use the laundromat. They basically told me, Too bad. Have used Maytag appliances over the years and always been satisfied but the company is clearly going downhill.

From the beginning, the blower motor (for the control panel? never needed one before) was too noisy. I just bought the oven from Lowe’s. They sent out a repairman. He replaced the motor, but has exactly the same level of noise. It is bad design/engineering. Im going to try some other brand. One problem is that you cant listen to the fan noise before you buy the oven and install it. And there are no decibel requirements or ratings. Industry regulations need improvement. Model #MFI2670XEM0, Maytag fridge top French doors, bottom freezer. Purchased fridge in May 2011 from Lowes, with a matching microwave. A couple months ago, I noticed puddle of water on wood floor in front of fridge, so I opened freezer to find ice on bottom with a sheet of fresh water on top. Call to Maytag was useless, also tried to sell us warranty. Guess that $300+ warranty would cover one year, so after the warranty runs out, would we have to buy another when it plugs again. Our kitchen floor is ruined, and the warping is coming close to our dining room. Googled problem online to see if there was an easy fix since it was out of warranty. I tried to defrost as described online, only to have it leaking again a couple weeks later. Will never buy a Maytag again. Guess that repairman in commercial is never busy because Maytag wont stand behind their products.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos top load washer and the matching dryer at Home Depot back in 2009 after giving my son my very old Maytag washer and dryer that was running just fine. I liked the top load energy efficiency idea of the new Bravos and the large capacity of both the washer and dryer. Also, the Maytag name sold me, gave me confidence I was purchasing a quality product... WRONG. When it was delivered, there was damage to the dryer door, so a new one was ordered and mailed directly to me. Once it came in, I called to have someone come put it on. First issue, not a really big deal but disappointing.About one month into using the dryer, the top of it became so hot it could literally burn your hand. There was also an error message. I had purchased a one-year warranty, even though technically there is a manufacturers warranty on the product. A part had to be replaced in the panel. This happened twice. We then moved out of state for one year and the washer and dryer stayed in storage unused during that time.Fast forward to 2014 and the washer will not complete any cycle except the spin cycle. I keep getting an error message of OL which means overload. The machine is NOT overloaded. It literally takes me hours to get through one cycle of washing clothes. And they dont even come out clean. I called Maytag repair and they offered me a one-year warranty for $363.75 since the washer is having issues. They explained to me if its the control panel the cost alone for that is $383.00 not including labor. Also, the dryer take forever to dry. I have to run each load through a cycle twice to dry everything. So much for the energy efficiency of these machines. At this point, I am considering just buying another washer, something cheaper without all the fancy bells and whistles. I am terribly disappointed in Maytag.

The first problem happened a month after we bought the horrible product. I had biscuits baking in the oven and the oven door locked itself like when in self-clean mode. Maytag sent out a repairman that had the part in his truck because they knew there was a problem with that models door. I pointed out that the door does not shut properly, causing inaccurate heating and scorching on the outside of the oven door. The repairman insisted that it was shut properly, and that it was designed at the angle the door sits. He replaced the scorched part of the door, but it immediately scorched again. I have had the part replaced 3 times, and will not do so again until we sell the house. I have spent over money over and over again to make the repair, because it makes the stove look like it is filthy with grease. Now, all the dots painted on the glass top are coming off, and the remaining black glass behind it also looks like burnt grease. It is so embarrassing when entertaining; but the stove is clean. I spent a lot of money for this, and it has been junk from day one. Avoid purchasing.

The Maytag Bravos Washer we bought had a stinky odor we couldnt get rid of. We found that clothes had gone over the basket and lodged in the filter above the pump; end of stinky smell. Later, we found that pennies and other small items had slipped into the fins of the drain pump and ground them off. The filter does not keep out of the pump and is not made right to stop damage. I called a local Maytag dealer who said he had a lot of similar complaints. I called Maytag who stated they have no registered complaints of this type and had no fix for it. Avoid the Bravos line of washers - they are not made right and Maytag will not admit it or help you. Bravo for Maytag who are obviously not going to act on it. Make a formal complaint and find if someone has a lawsuit you can join!

I purchased a Maytag double door refrigerator in 2012. So far the deli drawer has broken 3 times in the same way. There is a plastic peg attached to a side panel on the refrigerator. This pin breaks off after a few months of use. To repair it, you have to replace the entire side panel. The parts and labor costs are about $200 each time. It is obviously a design flaw that Maytag should fix. If you repair it every time it breaks, in about 8 years your repair costs are more than your original purchase price for the refrigerator. Dont buy Maytag products. They are inferior.

This Maytag Centennial with commercial technology washer has ruined a couple of thousand of dollars of clothing, maybe 10 to 12 of my favorite shirts (ripped holes around the top of the pockets), bath towels and sheets and comforters and hand knitted small blankets that can never be replaced. It tore holes in nearly everything that was made out of cotton, I was doing spring cleaning and I normally wash most of my summer clothing, but this time this washing machine destroyed nearly all my summer clothing. This washing machine came with the house I just purchased. (I gave my older Maytag washer and dryer to some needy folks which worked great when I moved here). Disappointed in MAYTAG. Please do not buy a Maytag washer top loader. It does not get enough water and it does not clean your clothes. It is the noisiest cheapest made machine out there. If you have kids you really need to bypass this one. I have had this for 10 months and its only me. Please especially if you have children stay away from it. Im the most unhappiest camper Maytag ever had.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer in late 2007. We had a one-year warranty on the set. At just over 2 years, we started having problems with the washer. It started making a loud noise when spinning and started beeping all the time during the cycles. We contacted Maytag and they said the only thing they could do for us was to sell us an extended/repair warranty for $320.00. If the cost of fixing the machine was too much, they had the option to replace it with another machine equal to the value of the machine in todays market, or cash, or a gift card equal to that.We were angry about the cost of the warranty and we were unemployed at the time and couldnt afford that so we just had to let it go. The machine progressively got worse where only two of the cycles would work, but not without beeping several times where you had to fix the load, and the sound got so loud it sounded like you had a jet plane just overhead. Just the other day it completely quit working. We have been in contact with Maytag several times but their only answer is their repair warranty. Weve talked to numerous appliance repairman, who all knew exactly what was wrong because they have seen it so many times, and they told us that we have several things going wrong with the machine we would probably need a new drum, a new drain pump and a new control board. We were told that it would cost more to just buy the parts than it would be to buy a new machine. In the course of our phone calls to Maytag, they have continually told us that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do, in fact they only have record of two of our calls (how convenient!). Since experiencing the issues with the machine, we have researched it online and found that scores of consumers are dealing with the exact same problems we are having which shows that there are defects in the manufacturing of these machines. Maytag should be forced to fix these problems. They are well aware of them and they should have to back up their products. There should be a class action lawsuit out against them. We were told by an appliance repairman that Whirlpool (who bought out Maytag) has a washer called Cabrio that is the exact same model as the Bravo and that they do have a class action lawsuit out against this model. Consumers that purchased the Bravo should be included in that lawsuit. I am stuck with a broken down washer, mildewing clothes and dont know where to turn outside of paying out the money for the extended warranty with no guarantee of what we would get out of it, purchasing a used set with no guarantee, or putting out the expense for a new set. This set was an expense set and we went with Maytag because they used to have a good reputation, but we feel like we have been totally cheated. If the appliance companies were forced to offer a longer warranty on their products, they would have to manufacture them at a higher standard. For the cost of these new machines this is exactly what we as consumers should expect. Please help us to know which direction to go. Even with purchasing a new machine we are apprehensive!

I built a new house in 2006. As part of a builders package, we had all new stainless steel Maytag appliances installed. The side by side refrigerator compressor stopped after 26 months (of course, passed any warranty). No customer support through Maytag and as previously posted very scripted responses. Maytag microwave handle has broken off several times, the glass seal in the oven door was compromised and the inside glass is stained - most recently the on-going issue with my Maytag dishwasher model mdb5601. Ive already replaced the handle /door latch assembly twice and am confronted with the current dilemma if I should replace the control panel that now appears not to be working. It goes without saying that I will never purchase Maytag products again. However, I am not in a position to replace what are fairly new products. That being said, I am reluctant to purchase costly replacement parts given their poor performance and ratings as mentioned in this thread.

Do NOT buy a Magtag washer. I purchased a brand new washer from Lowes in 2017. The washer gets stuck in the wash cycle. When I called Lowes, they said to call Maytag, who sent a service person out. The service person recalibrated the machine never ran a cycle and left. We had to call two more times after this for the same reason with the same result where the serviceman left without running a cycle. This was all while the product was under warranty. Since I had three service calls, I called Maytag frustrated that this kept happening to a new product. I was told there was nothing they could do, but if it happens again to have the service guy come back out. When the warranty runs out, I will have to pay for the service tech. Unbelievable. Save your time, money and frustration and buy a Whirlpool! I dont know how Maytag gets away with selling defective products.

Oven racks falling down and theres appears to be no solution because the interior liner of the oven has warped. The 3rd party repair guys tell me the interior liner needs to be replaced, its not worth the repair cost, Im better off shopping for a new set. Its so unfortunately that this happened (we moved into this house with existing appliances that we cannot use...) and it seems to be a common problem, yet Maytag claims they have NOT received any complaints about this.

Must be replaced, unfortunately they dont have any, so I was quoted 6 weeks for a new door, that has turned into 12 weeks and they cant guarantee me a date. It still happens and I have to jiggle it all around to activate it. Clothes are never clean, dog hair is never washed out... My broken old agitator machine was taken to the dump & I wish I had it back! How do the stores give this machine a good rating?? I cant do light quick washes, I have to wait forever... MDB7609AWB1 - I purchased this dishwasher about 14 months ago. Power on button will not light up. It seems this is a big problem with 100% of the Maytags and Im sure the Whirlpools. These cheap companies are having their products made in China to make bigger profits. The years of keeping your appliances for 10-15 is gone. Spend $650 and it doesnt even last 2 years before it breaks is totally ridiculous. Of course they wont fix it but they DO know about the problem. If enough people complain maybe consumers affairs will make them recall them. Send them letters, emails, flood their inbox, tell them youre pissed and will never buy a Maytag again. I hope they go out of business.

Well, after I called my repair man (who I purchased the set from), they said that a back bearing is faulty. They suggested calling Maytag because the cost of the repair is $500. I bought this MMV4205BAB microwave thinking Maytag was a good brand and I wanted an over the range type. Problems began when it would stop in the middle of a cooking cycle. I called the repairman as it was under warranty. It was decided by the repairman that the weight of thing was too great for its thin frame, not letting the door close correctly. I got a new one and it, from day one, would make a shorting sound every time anything was cooked, on the stove top, under it, while it was on. It finally just shorted out. We have had our oven for seven years this past October 2015 and has now been down for three weeks. Last February 2015 (8 months ago) we had to replace the bake igniter because the oven would not get up to temperature. The most recent incident happened a few days after Thanksgiving (2015), I was cooking dinner and noticed that the oven was not reaching desired temperature. I then opened the door to see if it was hot inside the oven and when I did it must have ignited making a huge poof and flames came out at me! Thank God my 12-year-old daughter had walked away from cooking with me to answer the telephone because the flames came out exactly where she had been standing!!!I contacted Maytag and explained what had happened and how we could have had an explosion or someone couldve burned. The first questions they did ask me was if anyone was injured or any damage to our house?!?! I was happy for that however, it also told me that this has happened before! They called the Maytag repairman in my area and supposedly made it a priority call in which he could not come until 12/10 which was two weeks after this happened. Therefore, my husband and I contacted a different appliance man who came out and told us it was the temperature sensor. Since fixing it, the oven works ok and cooks properly however, when initially lighting/igniting it is extremely loud and makes a very large/huge poof! Its as if the oven is filling up with gas and eventually lighting! The other night when I lit it to show my husband it was so loud that it rattled the door and he immediately turned off the gas to it. I googled this and it said that its basically a mini explosion where the oven is filling with gas and then igniting! Its to the point that we could lose everything we have worked for just to make a meal! We spend over a thousand dollars on our beautiful stainless steel convect oven. Its gorgeous and when working works great however, Im petrified to use it now because Im scared to being burned or exploding! Now we start over and yesterday on Sunday I contacted the original Maytag repairman who said to call back Maytag again and hell come immediately. Maytag originally told me on the phone that they would cover labor and the service call however, ironically enough they did not write that in the dispatch order! Im outraged! What will it take before its safe for our family and home! My husband is ready to junk it and buy a GE however, we do not have the money especially before Christmas to do so. Oh and let me add that the first week we had the oven we had to call them for the window seal to be replaced because it was hanging. So now seven years after owning it and 10 months apart we are having major issues. What happens if its fixed and a year later it happens again? It could explode in our home!!! SCARED & IRATE WITH MAYTAG & WHIRLPOOL.

I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything beside Maytag. Our old Maytag refrigerator broke. Would cost too much to fix. So, we decided to buy new. We had the old white, which I was perfectly fine in buying again, however, white was super expensive. So, the salesperson persuaded us to purchase stainless steel. We got a pkg for close to $4000 all in June of 2016. Needless to say, these items have been called for repair within the 1 year warranty over half a dozen times, and have had to replace pieces that have just broken. My worst experience is the stove. I really do not like it at all. I feel the product is misleading. We wanted a self cleaning oven. It is the newest brand out there for what I consider a joke. It is the AquaLift Technology that does not clean anything. My old Maytag self cleaning oven cleaned far better than this. The same spots are in the oven. It just is worthless. I have addressed my frustration with Maytag where I was told that the oven is for the light user. Well, then you need to educate the people who sell your stuff, because I have a family I cook a lot. If this product was made for an apartment single person who does not cook then we should have been informed. Your product states Self Cleaning. Its not self cleaning!!! My frustration went up to the main office of Maytag where their resolution was to give me a discount on a new stove. What do I do with the one I have, and I was told I could sell it!!!! Really Maytag wow from a consumer that has always been a valued customer this is the level of service I get. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty on all Maytag products, because of my fear of something just breaking again. My advice to all is either buy a no named brand or buy something cheaper. Please folks if you have a family do not purchase these products. Its for people that just need a pretty display of appliances!!!

MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR SAFETY ISSUE SHARP EDGE Maytag refrigerator model MRT11
MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR SAFETY ISSUE SHARP EDGE Maytag refrigerator model MRT118FFZ01 purchased Feb.2018. There is a safety issue, sharp edges. Maytag has been aware of this for over 1yr from customer reviews. I went to consumer affairs.com and there are numerous complaints on products/customer service. I have been asking for a replacement door since Feb. On Sept. 7th I cut the palm of my hand on sharp edge, drew blood, no stitches but I was very upset. Called Maytag, transferred to the safety dept. sent out service tech. He reported that it was a safety issue, very sharp edge, he had to put duct tape on corner to prevent any more injuries! He requested that new doors(freezer&refrigerator door) only be sent, I do not want/need the whole unit replaced. Freezer door has sharp edge also. I have numerous emails to/from corporate office begging since Feb. for a new doors so that this would not happen! Maytags solution is to buy back refrigerator or I should pick another model. Neither is a solution for me. I picked this model for a reason. I asked them to provide me with the simplest solution which is to contact factory where it is made, red flag it, talk to manager, quality control check to see that there are no sharp edges before it is shipped to me. They refuse to do that 1 simple common courtesy, customer service request! They cannot guarantee that door will come without a sharp edge! My model is not the only 1 with this problem. I talked to salesman & model in store has sharp edge & in the reviews the same model had sharp edge which was submitted over 1yr ago! So Maytag has been aware of this safety issue for some time now but chooses to do nothing about it! I chose Whirlpool because of the name, I thought it stood for quality & above all excellent customer service. Was I wrong, found that out thru numerous phone/email conversations. They just dont care! Is it too much to ask Maytag to give me a refrigerator with no safety issues?!!! I have talked to Aaron in the corporate office, he was no help at all. His # 866-817-5404 ext **. I have all the emails to/from him. Please help, I want this same refrigerator, only model that would work for me. Now that I have had personal injury & have spent so much time/effort, aggravation since Feb. trying to have them do the right thing I feel that I am due monetary compensation. Bottom line this complaint is concerning a safety issue & horrible customer service from the call center to corporate offices! The Maytag name isnt what it used to be known for, quality & service.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in February 2012, $700. After a few months, the buttons stopped working and the machine was unresponsive. I called Home Depot and they fixed it under the warranty. This continued to happen every 2-3 months. After a year of dealing with this, the warranty expired and I had to purchase the manufacturer extended warranty with Maytag, $240 for 5-years of coverage. The problem continued, and every few months, the thing would stop working and I would have to call for service - 2 to 4 weeks without a dishwasher waiting for service appointment then parts and another appointment for the repair.Perhaps my machine was just a lemon. I dont think they make that model anymore. Heres the number so that you can avoid a three year headache of a machine, MD87749 AWM2. I have always hated soft touch control panels so I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher with old style push buttons. IT DID NOT CLEAN THE DISHES, so Lowes took it back and I was convinced to UPGRADE to an MDB7749SBB0 and was told this machine was top of the line, although it was VERY temperamental from the start. I guess I should have done my homework. I see now several complaints about the control panels not working. I was told that MAYTAG was a very reputable company and that they stand behind their product. WRONG!. The company KNOWS these panels have problems and should replace them free of charge as it is obviously a defect. Nope, first they offer to send someone out (In a week) to repair it at $80 just to look at it and the panel is over $100 to replace, and when I complained they tried to sell me extra coverage for $250. REALLY? What is the purpose of purchasing a QUALITY dishwasher? I might as well purchase a cheap dishwasher and replace it when it breaks. I think you should be responsible for your product when you have several complaints on a specific part.

Maytag Centennial - It came with the house. I think its a line made special for rent-to-own kind of places. I cannot stand the washer. It will not take fabric softener unless its in the ball and if you use extra rinse you dont get to use fab softener at all. (I like liquid fab softener on some things). Why it doesnt have a dispenser is beyond me. And the bleach dispenser is poorly designed, too close to the tub and splashes every time. Ive had this six months and would get rid of it in a heartbeat if I could afford to. Plus it snags towels. The washer is crap. And its a Maytag. I wish it would break so I could justify buying one that has some decent features like fab soft dispenser, bleach dispenser that doesnt splash, drum that doesnt snag.

I tried restarting it, made sure there was not a leak that somehow was getting to the internal electrical components in the panel. I actually know the Maytag repairman by name. Its nothing like those old commercials where the Maytag repairman sits around and has all the time in the world because their products never break. Those days are over and these guys are busy working to fix these devices they label as dishwashers. Since my warranty is now expired, it was an unexpected $96 service call to tell me what I already knew - Its your panel again sir, it needs to be replaced. Well have to order one for you and itll be $265 for parts and labor plus the $96 service call = $361 repair for something that will likely break again in a few months. Never am I buying a Maytag product again.

Bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in November 2012 for a cost of $1,647.48. In August 2013 it stops making ice day 1, stops cooling & it is running nonstop, all lights on display go out day 2. Called Home Depot & was given another number to call, called that number was told someone would be out next day to look at it. Also told my warranty would expire in November & I needed to buy another warranty. Maytag customer service was very rude. If their product was any good why do I have to pay extra for another warranty. A $1,647.48 refrigerator that only lasts 9 months, REALLY!!! Do not purchase Maytag appliances if you dont want to lose your money. Shame on Home Depot for not standing behind their merchandise. If you have a problem while warranty is in effect, Home Depot should replace product.

Its frustrating the way the bottom of the dishwasher has curves making wasted space. Second, the tracks for the trays are such that often the tray comes off the track and makes it difficult to get back on without unloading dirty dishes to do so. Finally, I really dont get the lighting system for dishwashing on the outside of the machine.

I purchased this set 7 years ago and the washer started stopping mid-cycle and the dryer sensor doesnt work. I called the Maytag service number and after several phone calls (they had my name spelled incorrectly and the wrong address), was able to schedule an authorized servicer. He said the motor and motor controller needed to be replaced and it would cost over $900. When I said I expected my $1,200 washer to last more than 7 years, the service person informed me that the machines were made by Samsung (not Maytag) and just carried the Maytag label. He said the Maytag Neptune washers and dryers were the reason Maytag went into bankruptcy and was bought out by Whirlpool. I am disappointed Whirlpool/Maytag does not stand behind this product and will not buy this brand again.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos in October 2015 and a month and a half later the machine began to make a tweeting sound and the clothes were coming out incredibly wrinkled no matter what spin cycle I put it on. There were also times when the clothes came out totally dripping wet like they hadnt spun at all. I called Maytag and they sent out a technician from a local store which was not a Maytag store. When I told him what was going on, his response to the machine turning out very wrinkly clothes was, Well, why dont you just chose no spin. I said to him, So the clothes wont spin and I have to take out my clothes dripping wet? Doesnt that defeat the purpose of having a washing machine that spins? He didnt say anything to me.It turned out the machine needed a new gasket motor... after two and a half months... and it would take a week - minimum - before he would come back. Maytag sent me a survey which I filled out and they called a day later. They offered me a six month extended warranty for free. I explained to them that I didnt understand why something mechanical would break after two and a half months but the woman just kept apologizing.

Maytag HE Top Loader Washing Machine: I have regretted buying this piece of garbage since my first wash. This washing machine is complete waste of money and a piece of garbage. The Auto Sensing doesnt work and doesnt cover the clothes with enough water. When the deep water wash is chosen the clothes just float around but the agitator doesnt get them clean. Dont waste your money hoping it will work, because it wont. Maytag used to signify quality that is no longer the case. I am going to also give a bad review to the place I purchased this piece of garbage because all stores need to discontinue selling this junk.

I bought my fridge (Maytag French Door Fridge MFF2258VEW) in September 2009. It took forever to get it and when it was delivered, the door was dented so I had to wait for a new door to be replaced. The fridge stopped cooling just before Thanksgiving 2011. I had to throw out a lot of food. It was the circuit board and that was covered under the warranty. I noticed a couple of months later that the freezer was freezing up again and was worried that the fridge would go out again and in February 2012, they came out again and it turned out that the freezer had been put back incorrectly and the freezer gasket didnt fit right and thus, the freezing up on the circuit board. Now it is May 21, 2012, and I came home for lunch to find the fridge not working again! I cant get anyone out to fix it until Wednesday, the 23rd. Now we are in warm weather and I just went to the store and had a full fridge. I still have the warranty and will for another 14 months. I think if this continues to happen and when the warranty is up, we will have to replace this fridge. I can tell you for sure that it will not be another Maytag! What a piece of junk!

I purchased the top model Maytag dishwasher, and within four uses, I noticed major water damage to the side of my cabinetry. I pulled out the dishwasher and realized it was coming from the side unit where water enters the tub. These things happen, and I phoned their customer service department expecting this unit to simply be replaced, being that it was less than a week old, and that I would have been left a satisfied customer. They were willing to send a technician over to try to fix the problem, but not replace it. I now have to replace my cabinets, and maybe even my granite as it may be damaged in the removal process. I am not asking them to fix that even though the damage was caused by their dishwasher, but a new dishwasher, I did expect them to cover. Their customer service stinks, and I suggest to anyone that if you have any problems with a new unit, the best thing to do is return it to where you bought it. Im sure they will gladly give you a new unit and send the bad one back to Maytag. Dealing with Maytags customer service is the worst thing you can do. They do everything in their power to not replace it. Instead, theyd rather lose a customer for life. Whats sad for them is that Im a builder, and I usually build approximately three houses per year. Thats a lot of units theyve lost sales on over a simple replacement of a dishwasher. Its not a good way to do business. The bottom line is, stay away from Maytag.

Purchased a Maytag Centennial top load washer that will not fill with enough water to wash clothes. The washer was purchased from Lowes on August 17, 2016 and we tried to return but Lowes refused because we were passed the required 30 day return period. We contacted the Maytag company and they sent out service people who reported that there was nothing we could do other than wash small loads. The company also reported that if we tried any of the solutions on the web we would violate our Warranty. Since we find ourselves in this spot (we should have read all the bad reviews here before the purchase) we have decided to place the machine in a very visible spot across from a new 100 store shopping center on a truck with a 4x8 sign warning the public not to purchase this product.

Prior to purchase, I did my due diligence and read reviews about this washing machine. Apparently, they were written by Maytag employees, because this washing machine has been a major disappointment. Yes, it tangles clothes and sheets, but I feel that is to be expected since it is HE and uses less water. I will give it that and I dont have to dry nearly as long. But that is where my positivity ends. Clothes dont always come out totally clean. And then there is the issue with the horrific grinding noise. The machine has been making a progressively louder, angry, grinding noise with a high-pitch end note. And as of today, a horn type noise has started. Lovely.I anticipate the machine is on its last legs and I have only had it a few years. I spent too much money on this and feel like I have been misguided and, quite honestly, ripped off by Maytag.

Purchased a Maytag side by side MSB27C2XAM00 in June 2014 to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. After 14 months the fridge stopped keeping things cold in the food compartment and in the freezer. And, the water and ice dispensers stopped working. Called Maytag and they confirmed the fridge was 2 months past the warranty and the best they could do was offer an extended one-year warranty for $325 and set up an appointment. I declined and called a local repair company. They responded promptly and discovered the problem was a bad board. Had to replace the board at a cost of $475 (parts and labor). It was $150 more than the extended warranty but I was already in the hole for $100 service call and I was able to get the fridge repaired on the spot. I had the Kenmore for 20+ years without one repair. Maytag was good for one year and 2 months. Dont know how this company will last with a $2000 product that lasts a year. I can not recommend this product and advise anyone in the market for any appliance to avoid Maytag products.Updated on 11/20/2015: After the board was replaced, the fridge worked but was not keeping either of the side by side compartments cold. They were cool but not cold. Repairman returned. Said it was the compressor which needed to be repaired/replaced. Maytag said the compressor was under a 10 year warranty unlike the other parts of the fridge. Good news, Maytag covered the cost of the part / but bad news that it broke after 14 months of use. However, the service people told me the cost of the compressor was the smallest part of the repair. Labor and service would be costly and Id be better off getting a new fridge with a 5 year warranty contact. After I got over the initial shock of having to toss a 14 month old fridge that cost $1500 and complaining to Maytag, I went to Lowes and found a replacement fridge. This time it was not a Maytag. Moral of the story stay away from Maytag. Dont be fooled by the brand. Avoid them at all costs. And purchase a fridge with a 5yr+ warranty contact!

I, too, have had major problems with this Maytag refrigerator! We have experienced everything from a malfunctioning ice maker, flashing control panel, overloaded compressor, erratic freezer (freezes much of the fridge contents), and doors not staying closed/inadvertently popping open. We have owned this fridge since 2007 and have repaired the ice maker and the freezing problems on our own dime. When the clicking sound woke the entire house up at 5 am, I finally decided to post! I realize that appliances are not perfect, and that Maytag had the best of intentions when designing and producing this product, but what really infuriates me is that Maytag has known about this widespread inherent problem since late 2006! Why no recall? Why no notice? Why no assistance? When I called the customer service line this morning, the representative acted like shed never even heard of this fridge having problems - yeah, right. All you have to do is Google the model number or just Maytag fridge panel flashing and clicking problem to discover thousands of similar complaints. I do not fault Maytag for manufacturing a less than perfect appliance, but I do hold them accountable for adequately repairing/replacing such a rampant and unsafe (compressor overload) product! Maybe it is time for a class action. Something needs to be done to protect the consumer from a company that is so slow to correct a long-standing and potentially dangerous problem!

I unfortunately just had the same issue concerning my unit. The unit went berserk, stopped cooling and ruined all my food. I managed to get it outside after leaking spoiled food all over my floor. I washed it out and contacted Maytag after reading the hundreds of complaints. They sent someone out to fix the panel but he couldnt get it to cool. He said many times when a unit goes down that the acidity from produce along with moisture can eat through the aluminum components causing a freon leak. Obviously, this happened to me. I contacted Maytag and they said they would fix that too but once I called back, they said that it was a separate issue. Then I spoke with another person who said they would send a tech to inspect. I took off work and finally got a courtesy call from tech saying he was told not to come. I was amazed I missed work waiting and got no call from Maytag saying they changed their mind. I called back in and was told flat out I would not be covered, even though the fridge was fine before this happened. I suggest everyone read over the Consumer Protection Act which covers defective equipment causing issues by both injury and property damage. A class action lawsuit needs to be organized concerning this also. In the meantime, I implore each of you to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in your state along with Michigan where Maytag is headquartered. This will guarantee a response from corporate. Also, make copies of this forum and send it to your State Attorney General explaining how you have been sold a defective item. They say ABC news once did a segment on this fridge issue also, so I suggest contacting them asking for a follow-up story. For those that use social media, go onto their Facebook and Twitter page to post a link to this site and the way you have been treated after spending over $2,000 and a fridge that has lasted 7 years or less. Its time for small voices to unite to form one that is much larger.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL MVWB725W washing machine and dryer pair in August of 2015. 2 months after I bought the pair the thermostat went out on the dryer. It was under warranty so it was fixed and no problems after that. In July of 2016 I have my first stainless steel hose break at the fitting because of corrosion flooding my laundry room. I thought it was a fluke so I put another one. The next hose started to corrode in September 2016. We thought there was some weird chemical reaction going on between the hose and the filter on the back of the machine. So we changed to rubber hoses in September. Since then we have gone through 6 sets of rubber hoses. We have had the water company out, they say our water is fine. A plumber out, our new water heater is fine as is our plumbing. An electrician, who changed an outlet and put a grounding wire on our house water line. And an appliance repair man, he found the problem so he called Whirlpool who makes Maytag. There is corrosion on the water temp control. However nobody has EVER seen this problem and doesnt know how to fix it. Not even Whirlpool. And Whirlpool says its my house. Im at a dead end with a washer that is constantly going through hoses. It really doesnt wash clothes very well either unless you put a lot of stain remover on the clothing before and wash it in hot water. And yes it is noisy. Dont buy this product.

The unit has an ice maker. On a regular basis, water would accumulate at the bottom of the freezer pan. When the bottom pan got filled up, water would run out on to my hardwood floor. I related the problem to the ice maker. Researching the problem, I learned that the ice maker has an adjustment for timing the on cycle for filling the ice tray. After several adjustments nothing changed. I ordered a water control valve and installed it. The problem persisted. I installed a water pressure regulator but the problem persisted. I installed a water filter, the problem persisted. I turned off the entire ice maker and the problem persisted. The problem wasnt the ice maker. The real problem was the defrost cycle of the evaporator. The drain for the water was plugged with ice. Purchased a new Maytag washer top load/Dryer set on April 1, 2016. Having trouble uploading receipt but I paid 1,145.83 for set. It took 2 weeks to get it delivered on April 15. 1st use it shook and wobbled even though the load was balanced but Ive read that is a problem with these machines. 1st load of clothes, washer didnt fill with enough water to wash properly - 3-4 inches of water for a full load of jeans. Top 2/3 of clothes hardly got wet! Changed the setting, same problem. Changed the setting again, same problem. I had to stand at washing machine and keep lifting the lid to get more water in the machine. Clothes didnt rotate in machine so all the clothes on top half didnt get cleaned. The spin cycle is scary! You could hear clunking noises and it had nothing to do with load being balanced. Did a small load and same thing with water level and spin cycle. Called Home Depot to pick up both machines on next business day. The dryer lint trap is so long, it made a mess trying to remove the lint even after only 1 load. NEVER AGAIN MAYTAG! The functionality of this machine is so awful. I had the dealer replace it only to find that the awful noises that the machine makes, the fact that the clothes don’t get covered by the water and the clothes are so knotted after the spin cycle you have to untie them is normal for this awful appliance. In the sensing stage the machine groans like a laboring motor around 30 times, then stops with a jolt. My machine is next to the bedrooms and the noise wakes people up. Even in the “deep water” setting, the clothes are not covered by the water. The wash cycle is short and noisy and the spin cycle goes on forever. In the end I have to untie the legs of pants. Every appliance in my kitchen is Maytag. I went with Maytag because its made in America and now Im annoyed. The microwave died after about 5 years and since I had a spare, I have yet to repair it. I am just now removing the panel to see whats going on in the inside so I can replace whatever broken part is broken. The double oven I have Ive had to repair twice. Once I had to replace a capacitor on the board because it blew. It cost me zero to replace it as I have an old home theater system I part out. The next item was the control pad itself which I tried to repair but had to replace for $200. The dishwasher died after 6 years of use and after replacing the control pad (couldnt be repaired), it still didnt work. And I got a replacement from my wifes dad who was moving and had to get rid of his. Ultimate timing. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator instead of a Samsung like an idiot (which I suppose I am at this point). The fridge leaks water because the drain plug is jammed and it will take a lot of work to get back there to unjam it. I think Maytag wants to sell you expensive parts that are doomed to break after a couple years of normal use. They want to send repair guys out to your house to charge you to fix their junk. I cant wait to move and buy all Samsung products and do away with this Maytag relationship once and for all.

I have been very disappointed with the 2017 model of Maytag washer and dryer as the washer does not clean the clothes as it should. There is the inner part taken out with no agitator and I believe that is the reason that the clothes comes out not white or cleans as I am use to it being before with my other machines. I think they need to reinstall the agitator to clean the clothing thoroughly. SO SO disappointed. I thought by purchasing a Maytag washer and dryer that I was purchasing quality products. Not so. After only 3 yrs, the dryer is broken. It needs a new heating element assembly at $139 plus a visit from the technician and installation. In total, it will cost about $300 to repair. The washer is slowly going also. It takes about 2 minutes before it starts. Never used to do that. The technician told me that these do not last and that the computer is likely to go in another couple of years which will cost $400 to repair. I called Maytag to see what they could do for me. They offered the part at 1/2 price but insisted on another diagnosis even though Ive already had one. That along with their labor cost was going to cost more than anyone else.
