In July 2012 I purchased a Maytag BTM standard door refrigerator from Home Depot. Approx. 2 weeks from the 1 yr. Standard warranty July 2013, my refrigerator started cycling like every 20 minutes and loud popping noises started occurring. 1st service tech would only stay 15 minutes & did not want to stick around to hear the noise. Ran the standard tests and said everything was fine. That was around Aug. 2013. So I put up with it for a few more months and finally the popping noise was getting louder. 2nd service guy (Jan. 24, 2014) got to hear my video recording of the refrigerator cycling and loud popping noise. He replaced a bad dul part (Note: they all wanted to blame it on our ice maker that we never ever hooked up). Oops...wrong diagnosis. Whatever he replaced stopped the constant cycling pattern but now the popping noise is getting even louder like a shotgun going off. 3rd repair guy (Feb. 20, 2014) tells us that is normal and recycle product material is not that good nowadays?? I pay a $1000.00 for a noisy refrigerator and they say it is a normal sound. I dont think so. The refrigerator is now popping so hard that the right side of my refrigerator that faces the open is now buckling due to the compression of the heating and cooling which is causing the loud popping noise. If you rub your hand down the side of refrigerator you can feel the waves forming on the side of the refrigerator. Trying to get a Maytag rep out here. Something needs to be done about the production of these bad appliances.

Maytag, you left me disillusioned and disappointed. I used to believe you, trust you. How am I going to feed my kids without a fridge? I bought our side-by-side French door refrigerator a few years ago and even bought the extended warranty (which no longer is in effect, unfortunately). Yesterday, the refrigerator failed, We called a small local repair person who could be at my home in a couple of hours. He listened and said my compressor was out, a leak was probably in there too, and that it would cost about 900 dollars or more to repair. When I called Maytag to see what they thought, they said that because I called a non-Maytag assigned repair person (even though this small-business repair guy didnt even take apart the refrigerator), I could no longer get their repair plus one year warranty offer which runs 400 dollars. But there is nothing I see on their warranty page that says this. Here I was trying to help our local economy by calling a small mom-and-pop repair person who is known in our town and has a good reputation, but I guess that by doing that minor well-intentioned act, it goes against Maytag corporate policy. Wow, how foolish do I feel now? I feel ashamed to admit this, but I actually started crying when I was on the phone with their customer help rep and asked, Isnt there something that can be done? I was thinking to myself that two months after Christmas with three kids is a tough time to replace a 1300-dollar refrigerator. I offered to pay the 400 dollars to get the refrigerator fixed by a sanctioned Maytag official with their warranty, but that I didnt know that I wasnt supposed to call anyone else besides Maytag if my appliances broke down. I would have never called our small local guy if I had known that Maytag corporate had such a policy. She said that no, there was nothing that she could do, and that is what happens to customers who call a non-Maytag assigned repair person. I guess when this happens to your fridge, you ask your neighbors if they can keep some milk, lunch meat and cheese for you, at least until you can save up for another fridge. Thank goodness that dried pasta and Ragu sauce dont have to be refrigerated. There are also cans of peas and corn and dry cereal, so it should be okay.I cant express how absolutely disappointed I am with myself and with my purchase, and how this has soured me on everything Maytag. I feel like an idiot. Can you believe that I had actually scrimped and saved up for months to buy this Maytag refrigerator and the extended warranty (hah, just to be safe)? I had bought it because I thought Maytag was a reputable company and because it was supposed to help the environment with its energy saving technology. But dont you think that a $1300 refrigerator should last more than 7 years (Believe it or not, this newer Maytag fridge was replacing a 20-year-old fridge that I gave to my cousins and which is still running to this day!)? And to add insult to injury, I already had a major repair done 4 years ago on this same French door Maytag fridge when it was only 3 years old. Maytag should offer to come out and fix their mess, but all I received when I called Robin, the supervisor, at their Tennessee call center was a, Sorry, there is nothing that I can do and there is no one else that you can speak to, and Nope, there is no one at corporate that you can call for help either and I have no advice to offer you. I can give you a mailing address though, if you like. I think I did hear pity in her voice, so that was some comfort. Pity from a call center supervisor, think about that! How awful it must be for her if that is all that she can offer to the desperate people who look to her for guidance! I actually felt sorry for her after I hung up the phone. It must be terrible to know that the company that you work for is probably mistreating its customers and all that you can offer is an Im sorry. I wonder how often someone says a rosary for her and her workers taking on those endless calls for help. How often does she cry herself to sleep after a day of that?I really dont like complaining online and I rarely do it, but this experience was just so awful and hopeless that I feel I had to say something to save other people pain and money. I hope that everyone learns from my miserable Maytag mistakes and please pass on my experiences to all of your friends and family. Those big tax refund checks will be coming soon, and I know that a lot of people upgrade their appliances with that money. Please, please think twice before you buy anything Maytag. I would feel better if I knew that people could learn from my stupidity. Remarkably, I was once gullible enough to trust and believe in American-made Maytag - goodness, was I wrong to do that. I am considering Facebooking my friends and family to let them know what happened and save them the heartache too. I hope that everyone who reads this can learn from my own mistakes and misguided trust in a company. In a world where so many companies throw away or roll over on their loyal customers, all I can say is something that I learned from a wise high school English teacher - Et tu, Maytag? .

I purchased this dryer in September 2011. By August 2012, one month before the warranty expires, the thermo fuse blew and the dryer would not dry; no heat. I replaced fuse and 30 days later, it blew again. I replaced it again and now, March 2013, 6 months later, the same thing; the thermo fuse blew, no heat. The vent is clean and air flow is very good. Maytag will not admit a problem. This is not an inexpensive dryer; it may be cheap, but not inexpensive. Maytag quality appears to have vanished. I have Maytag throughout the house but will think twice before purchasing Maytag again. Chinese produced parts/products are inferior. Maybe Ill look at Bosch or LG from now on.

Bought the Maytag MDSH969AWS1 in Dec. 2010, and it quit after 4 and 1/2 years. Ironically, replaced a perfectly good 20 year old GE model that ran great for this piece of junk. I tried to diagnose the problem: the washer fills, but when the cycle is supposed to start it just hums. Then you have to drain it. So I think the problem is the motor or capacitor. The parts are stupidly overpriced, and Im not even sure if that is the problem. It could also be the electronics board (Ive heard of the problems with these on this brand). So instead of risking wasted time and parts Im junking this, er, piece of junk. The stainless steel door was rusting on the bottom too. American made crap! Bought a fancy Samsung to replace it, and will NEVER buy Maytag again. Im old enough to recall the lonely Maytag repairman -- Itd give him a swift kick in the rear for being associated with such a shoddy brand. Maytag, its the Dodge-Jeep of appliances.

We purchased the washer and dryer combo brand new from Lowe’s, had them delivered and hooked up together when we first purchased our house in the summer of 2016. 3 years later, both (expensive!!!) machines are having problems. The timer had to be replaced on the dryer, and the entire electrical panel on the washer has gone out and needs to be replaced. So disappointing. Model number MVWX655DW (washer), MEDX655DW (dryer).

This dryer ripped a gaping hole with sharp shards of metal exposed. It was working fine, and then it made a weird noise. It stopped and I assumed my laundry was done. We go to remove clothing and cut hand open on exposed metal. As if that wasnt bad enough, several hundreds of dollars in clothing had cuts in them. This dryer worked great for years, and out of the blue this happened. Im a widowed disabled mother, and cant afford a new dryer.

This is the worse washer... As many other have complained I have the same problems. This washer it will not fill with water ever. It doesn’t rinse clothes or clean them as I’m use to the old washers doing. From day one I noticed the water does not fill in the tub and wondered how can the clothes be getting cleaned properly. Getting a F51 code and after going on YouTube and checking for problems it seems to say the same code after it works for a bit. This is the worse appliance I have ever purchased. I am so frustrated and will never purchase a Maytag anything again. Never did in the past up to this one and never will after this one.

One month after warranty we had our first issue which cost us $380. Kinda my fault I was told by repair guy... My bra underwire came out during wash and destroyed the part we had to replace. Then a year later during spin cycle it sounds like an airplane taking off for about 10 minutes. Its so loud we cant even hear our TV! So guessing its bearings gone bad now? Which is a very difficult part to replace. And pricey. So guessing a new washer is in our future. We previously owned a Maytag washer and had it for 15 years and it still worked fine, we just wanted to upgrade. Big mistake! I wouldnt wish this washer on my enemies. I think the repair guys sets it to mess up when they do this reset thingy. Lol. Cause within a month of the renewed warranty we purchased was expired is when the 2nd issue began. I think the older washer are better because all this newer technology stuff is crap!! My advice do not buy Maytag Bravos series washer unless youve got lots of cash for repairs!!

I have had two Maytag washing machines in the past. Both lasted 20 years. Three years ago I purchased my first Maytag front loader washer and dryer. The washer is terrible. Although I clean it regularly plus spend money buying Affresh tablets and leave both the door and the soap dispenser open, the washer smells and builds up tons of mold. Cleaning out the heavy mold in the soap dispenser area is almost impossible. I spray bleach in there and then try to stick my arm into the back where most of the mold accumulates. Cant really get it all. Also, there is a problem with the softener dispenser. It gunks up and gets clogged. Had to keep pouring hot water and vinegar into it. Contacted customer service who was no help - they simply wrote to clean the machine. Huh? The dryer turns sheets into a tight roll with the inside not drying.

I bought a brand-new dryer Maytag Bravos. It broke after 3 weeks. They came to fix. A few months later, same thing happened, but I have 6 people in my house. They told me someone would be here the next day, and then that person canceled. They called someone else. He came and said I have to wait 3 days for parts. I called at least 6x and waited 30 minutes each time. They kept telling me theyd call back, and theres absolutely no call back. Then I called corporate Yvette, who was totally cocky and rude (866 817 5404). She said she would try to get back to me another day because she had meetings! Then, I was irate. I mean how rude. So she called me back and said, I ordered you the parts. Now you call Dan Marc, the service company, and make the appointment. Is this woman kidding? Then she went on about how Maytag has a 13% rating (They are Maytag.) and how their product is so wonderful. Now this woman is competent cocky and rude, and shes the presidents secretary! So whatever I call Dan Marc, they have no appointments Tom and wont make me an appointment. This is how a new product should work? I asked her what I do when it breaks again and again and the warranty is up. She told me they dont work on what ifs and if that time comes, it will be her decision. I am disgusted and have a house full of kids with no dryer? And I have given them another chance after that Neptune disaster. Im appalled and dont even know what to do.

We purchased a Maytag Refrigerator-Freezer from Home Depot, in July, 2014. The first two months we had this appliance, it would not make ice (we purchased one that had an ice maker it the freezer!). After numerous calls to Home Depot and about 7 service visits, the service company gave up trying to get the ice maker to work, and instructed Home Depot to give us a replacement refrigerator. The new one came with an ice maker that works some better, but still very slow in making ice, and the new refrig makes a grinding noise every time we open the door. The Maytag Company, whose service people never have anything to do, say this is a cosmetic problem, and they refuse to fix it.Have been in consultation with Whirlpool Company (who bought out Maytag I assume), trying to get the appliance repaired... or at least put an end to the grinding noise. We paid a lot of money for this refrigerator freezer, and have had nothing but trouble and issues with it. If you are thinking about buying a Maytag refrigerator -- Dont!!

We purchased our Maytag Bravos washer/dryer in January of 2012. In October of 2013, I noticed that the lid would not close properly. In examining the lid, we discovered that the screws were in tact but the information panel on the inside of the lid had come unglued causing the lid to be obstructed from closing properly. After calling Maytag we were told that they make a quality product and, in what I consider to be a condescending reply, could not help us. Replacement of the lid with the service call would cost almost the cost of this expensive washer. So disappointed in what we thought was a wise purchase!

Our new washing machine (Maytag Maxima XTLM Front Load Steam Washer & Dryer w/ Pedestals) has developed a loud knocking while running which the authorized whirlpool repair provider said was due to internal ball bearings. He said that the washing machine caused the pedestal to become warped and the only way to stop the knocking was to replace the pedestal. Whirlpool refuses to replace the pedestal saying that the pedestal must have come that way or was installed incorrectly or was overloaded. There are only two of us and we never overloaded at all. The knocking started several months after the installation. If the pedestal was defective (came that way), why wont Whirlpool replace it under their warranty?

My Maytag Refrigerator Freezer model MFI2569VEM4 started leaking water into base under bottom freezer door. It then fills up and freezes into solid sheet of ice and overflows and leaks into floor. Ruins Hardwood Floor. BEWARE!!!!! I have now seen several similar complaints online. Mine started doing this less than 2 years old!!!!!

Bought in July 2015, brand new from Lowe’s or Sears. When working to its full potential it never cleaned clothing very well, had no designated spot for detergent or softener, just bleach. Just last 3 years and it’s a piece of crap that has to be replaced. Going to argue with the company to tomorrow to get them to replace the broken transmission which may or may not be considered part of the drive motor - all **. This is a very expensive machine that didn’t last a month beyond 3 years! The 10 year warranty covers the 2 most rugged parts of any washer... the agitator never truly cleaned my clothes and now it is fused to the wash basket and cannot even be replaced without being chiseled off. Worst machine, purchase, and brand ever???

The engineers at Maytag saved a few pennies by only using one thermistor for temperature control. It is in the box. There is nothing monitoring the temperature in the freezer. If you put your fridge in the garage where the temp is 40 degrees, the motor will never come on, and your frozen foods will melt! In my new MRT118FFFZ01 unit, the temperature in the box varies by plus or minus 3 degrees F, but the freezer varies from minus1 1 to plus 25 degrees F. 36 degrees difference! Lousy design. Have had two service calls, and they both said that this was the way it was designed and there is no fix for it.

I was sooo excited to get this very very very expensive washer and dryer only to have the worst disappointment and let down...the washer in particular is horrible!!! It doesn’t wash!!! I thought I was crazy until I started reading all of these other reviews and found that many more people have had the same experience as I have... The tub never fills with water and the clothing never gets clean. I would love to start a class action against Maytag and get my money back or get a replacement.

We had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 24 years, and when it was time to purchase a new one, I did a lot of research before choosing our Maytag. Reviews by other consumers who had purchased dishwashers was very helpful in making our decision, and we have had no problems in the almost 18 months that we have had this dishwasher. It is very quiet. It washes and dries the dishes with no streaks, although I wash off the dishes before loading them. It provides 5 cycles and 4 options and lights blink, when the washing and drying cycles are complete. I would recommend the Maytag, Model #MDB4949SHBO wholeheartedly.

Horrible machine. Purchased on 02/28/2014. I am 63 y/o retired housewife now. Machine used only for light washing, occasional king size sheets and weekly towels. I bought into the Maytag name, am so very angry that I did. Started a load at 1215 pm today... it is still sensing, washing, rinsing, spinning and then it starts all over again. Just unplugged from the power source, hopefully I can get the clothes spun out enough to dry!! Call and live chats to Maytag were frustrating to say the least. $400 plus Maytag service call to check out the machine not fix check out repairing would be extra. (I do not live in rural area, live 5 minutes from downtown Jacksonville FL!!!) Independent Repairmen will not touch this Maytag Model (cannot say I blame them!!). DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG PRODUCT. This is a horrible company lacking in integrity, honesty and fairness. They sell shoddy, inferior products based upon past history.

Do not buy a Maytag Washer. I had a Maytag for 25 yrs with only 1 repair in its 23rd yr. When it finally retired at age 25, we replaced it with another Maytag assuming it would also last long. No chance. We had only 2 good yrs. Now, at 2 yrs old, it is so so loud during the spin cycle that it sounds like an airplane (757) is flying overhead at 50 ft above the roof... No way can we possibly use the washer if anyone in the house is sleeping. Repairs cost more than the initial price of the washer. Please do yourself a huge favor and buy another brand. There are too many complaints about Maytag to even consider purchasing one. Not worth the aggravation!!

Replaced a Maytag Bravos xl washer and dryer in 2015. First year was fine but almost right after the warranty period, the spinning cycle was loud. You cant even have a conversation near the washer. I put up with it after calling the repair department. Because I was told that it will cost as much to repair than buy a new washer. Now the washer does not drain when a small amount of cloth are in the washer. Dont buy this washer and dryer. Maytag is not as good as it once claim.

I thought washers are supposed to last 10 years or something. 3 years and I have to replace it. I dont know who Im more dissatisfied with - Maytag or Direct Appliance where I purchased it. Model MDB7749SBM1, Complete FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and GARBAGE. Let me explain. Maytag clearly claims this dishwasher is stainless steel on the inside and out... FALSE, BOGUS CLAIM. Please check for yourself, tried a magnet to it everywhere and the magnet stuck everywhere. I have had this dishwasher for 15 months. The keypad frequently stuck. When I called Maytag, they told me if its usable, there is no defect. 15 months after purchase and 3 months after WARRANTY ran OUT on Thanksgiving Day with 25 guest. The keypad finally quit for good. I called the Friday afterward and was told no service for a week. I called and received local service but they told me it would need a keypad, which I waited to call on Monday since Maytag is closed on weekends how ironic. I was told they wont cover anything since a certified person didnt come out even though nothing was ever fixed and they blatantly lied to the consumer. Tried to sell me an extended service plan. I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE AND WHEN IM IN LOWES OR HOME DEPOT, I WILL TELL EVERYONE IN THERE SHOPPING THE SAME THING, DONT BUY MAYTAG IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU.

Major issues with the Aqua Lift Range. Takes forever to preheat the oven, 15-20 minutes to reach 375 f- 400 f. Aqua clean cycle not efficient and does not clean at all. The stove top is impossible to select and keep the heat consistent. When adjusting the heat up or down when you slightly move the dial it overreacts. When moved the heat sways may more than selected. The fridge works well but the bottom drawer is way too flimsy and it wont last a long time as it will crack. This is our first purchase of Maytag appliances and it will be our last. I purchased a Maytag dishwasher at Home Depot in October 2009. Recently, it made noises for a few months of laboring, and finally would not start.Maytag said it’s out of warranty and wanted $125 just to diagnose. Took it to my shop for $60 to diagnose and they found a faulty control panel.

I almost didnt write this review because it is just a repetitive representation of this machine. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED with this machine! I had a Neptune and after a few years, it started to spew oil onto the laundry WHILE it was washing! It ruined so much clothing before I figured out what was happening. Came to find out, it was a glitch with the machine that the company SUPPOSEDLY, sent out notices about but I never received. Now the Bravos X... Bought to replace the Neptune, as it was advertised to replace Front loaders. Would accommodate a KING SIZE COMFORTER with no problem... Got out of one problem to get into another!!!From the beginning, I wondered how does this machine get the clothes clean? How would it was a king size comforter? It doesnt agitate like the other top loaders. I figured it was a new top of the line kind of technology. My clothes started to tangle up really bad even though I was not filling the machine over excessively. The clothes were staying dripping wet over and over again. It doesnt matter how much clothing is being washed, they stay super wet. I have to go through the Drain & Spin cycle to finish the cycle. IT GETS OLD!!!! I HATE THIS MACHINE!!!! Doing laundry is a HORRIFIC CHORE for me. This machine is TERRIBLE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I CANNOT WASH ANY SIZE COMFORTER!!!After reading all these reviews, seeing how Im NOT the only one who is going through all these problems with this machine, I refuse to call any repair company! I wont spend another penny on this monster!!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG ANYTHING AGAIN!!! Reason for this review... So anyone who is considering buying a Bravos X washer, think again. Food freezes in the refrigerator. If I turn it down, the freezer does not freeze. What has happened to the quality of Maytag? This unit is so new. I think I am going to take it back and buy a better brand!

Bought used and still performs like a champ. It's old. Have the matching dryer but that quit working some time ago so I hang dry clothes.

I bought a new Maytag dryer model # MEDC555DW2 18 months ago. Prior I had owned a Whirlpool for 22 years and the only expense on maintenance was that I replaced 3 belts. This new Maytag started making a terrible noise so I called the store where I bought and they sent out a tech. $76.77 they charged me to...remove a penny from where it got lodged in the edge of the drum somehow. Maytag refuses to do anything about it and I feel like Ive gotten the shaft because I bought an inferior product. In 22 years Id guess I dried on accident over 100 dollars in change since I have kids. Should have bought a Whirlpool again and so should you. Ill never buy another Maytag product. Ever.

Maytag Dishwasher MDB8959AWS6, S#F15006566 purchased 12/28/2011. Here is a record of the product repairs done by All Tech Appliance Service in Portland. 1/12/2014 - Thermal Fuse and Control Board. 10/15/2015 - Thermal Fuse. 9/2/2015 - Thermal Fuse. 12/5/2015 - Unit stopped working again, strong electrical smell, probably Thermal Fuse again. This dishwasher product has a design defect. It should be recalled.

Do NOT buy a Magtag washer. I purchased a brand new washer from Lowes in 2017. The washer gets stuck in the wash cycle. When I called Lowes, they said to call Maytag, who sent a service person out. The service person recalibrated the machine never ran a cycle and left. We had to call two more times after this for the same reason with the same result where the serviceman left without running a cycle. This was all while the product was under warranty. Since I had three service calls, I called Maytag frustrated that this kept happening to a new product. I was told there was nothing they could do, but if it happens again to have the service guy come back out. When the warranty runs out, I will have to pay for the service tech. Unbelievable. Save your time, money and frustration and buy a Whirlpool! I dont know how Maytag gets away with selling defective products.

After buying this dishwasher model MDB6759WWW3 in Jan. 2010, I fully expected it to work longer than it did! So far, the control panel has been replaced 5 times. The last time was Sept. 17, 2012 and already it is out again. I talked with Customer Service, since Georgia has a lemon law. After 4 times it is to be replaced.They had no record of the part that was replaced, just that a technician had come and repaired (by ordering the same part they had no knowledge of). This time they will either replace or instead of me calling, my lawyer will call. I will never buy another Maytag product and will encourage anyone else not to buy either. My daughter had the same experience with a refrigerator, a piece of junk they did nothing about. By the way, I have an extended warranty plan, which should not even be necessary!

Maytag refrigerator model MFF2558VEM9 purchased in November 2012 from Home Depot for $1329 suddenly would not maintain freezer temperature under high 20s in April 2017 (4 years, 5 months). Repairman says it has coolant leak, probably due to corrosion within the sealed system. Cost to repair - $1500. Repairman says this is a common problem.

The whole Control Panel lights are turned off for several minutes. Then they return on. Frequency? Few times per day. Reason? We dont know. No water or ice are dispensed when this happens. No water pipe is kinked, water pressure is OK, no problem with cooling system and nothing happens with food inside refrigerator or freezer. There are no mention made in trouble-shooting section of customer manual. What should we do? In spite of this, we are satisfied with the product so far, after 3 years of use.

In August of 2009, we had an opportunity to remodel our kitchen plus add new windows and doors. How exciting! SO we had put down new flooring in our kitchen that matched our oak cabinets and since we had a little money saved, we wanted to purchase new appliances to match. We purchased a Maytag side by side with ice and water in the door. It also had the fingerprint resistant stuff on the outside. It cost about $1300. You buy name brand so they will last a while but here we are November 12, 2014, 7 years later and the compressor goes out. If repaired, it will cost $8090 to fix. Why do I want another Maytag. This washer has a fault with certain types of blankets. Parts of these blankets come out shredded. We end up replacing these blankets. Other than this problem, the washer has worked fine.

My 2.5 year old hood range microwave stopped heating. I called repair guy, he charged $115.00 for barely a half hour and said he tightened a part and it should be fine OR the part would need to be replaced. Guess what!... That night microwave is still not heating anything. Dinos Appliance Repair is responsible to repair but Maytag doesnt stand behind its product. How do I get my money back when a repair doesnt repair anything? I wont buy Maytag again or GE.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

The washer and dryer were purchased together as a set 4 years ago in 2010. There have been times where I actually had clothes come from the washer completely and partially dry due to lack of water inside the washer! It fills based on how many clothes are in the washer or capacity that it senses. I have had so many clothes dry washed and torn up due to its use! If you set the washer to the wrinkle control position it does not go through the last rinse and spin cycle, you must reset it to the rinse, drain, spin cycle again in order to finish processing that load.It has already thrown its belt 2 times! Which my husband had to fix since we could not get in touch with anyone at Maytag who knew what we were talking about! If change gets stuck inside the washer bin in the little groove in the tank it is very difficult to get out, Im sure everyone has washed a pair of pants with the change still in the pockets, yes I know this is user error but if you dont know the change is in the little grooves because you cant see them, it stops the washer! So be sure to search this every time you do laundry!The dryer has a mind of its own! Sometimes it will finish drying your clothes, sometimes it wont finish the time set! Theres no reason just doesnt finish! There is so many reasons I will never purchase this brand again. Ive run out of room and patience. My clothes look like Im homeless!

Bought the xl about 14 months ago. NO LIE! Exactly 2 days after the 1-year warranty was up, the xl went down. Drive shaft and bearings. Did Maytag honor the warranty since it was only 48 hours past the expiration? Not just a no but a why are you bothering attitude. My brother and I are above average machine builders. Well fix it ourselves because we could buy a new one to have it repaired. After many hours scouring the web we found the parts. Maytag didnt make a repair kit available to the public. 7 hours plus over $200 to tear it down and to clean the muck trapped at the drain. Then sand-smooth the burnt on metal where the bearings sit. All for a washing machine that sucks at washing clothes in the first place. Never ever again will I buy a Maytag.

Bought this (Maytag Washer MVWB955FC1) on 1/8/18, was delivered late in January as it was on back-order. On 4/30/18, during a cycle, the washer made a pop sound. There was glass everywhere. The glass had shattered and exploded onto the floor and washer. The glass is on the inside of the drum and all over the clothes. Contacted Maytag and they sent out a repairman the next day. Repair said there is a point of impact indicated I dropped something on it. NOTHING was dropped on it. There is a point of impact, from the inside. The glass is pushed up and out indicating pressure from INSIDE the washer.Repairman says its not covered under warranty and that I had to pay for his time as well. He also said there are no known issues with this lid and washer. The lid is out of stock and wont be available for a while. I called Maytag and they gave me the same response, never heard of this.. and lid is out of stock. I found SEVERAL reviews/complaints in which, for the exact same model, this has happened to other people. This glass lid is dangerous and poses a serious safety risk to households that contain it. If they replace the lid, there is no guarantee this will not happen again. A child could walk by the washer and at any moment the glass lid could explode, send tiny shards of glass everywhere. I want a refund for this dangerous washer.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in July 2016. In August 2016 it broke for the first time. I was just passed my 30 day moneyback guarantee, so Sears would not take the washer back. I have had more than 10 service calls on this washer in one year. I live in a rural area, so Maytag told me I was in a non-serviceable area and would have to wait WEEKS until they found a repair person willing to come to me. I only live 40 miles from Richmond VA, where I purchased the washing machine, so imagine my shock when they told me they couldnt fix it because of my location! Ive had countless people in and out of my house, and it still does not work right. You can only do very small loads, so the perk of having an XL machine is none. But even at that, it does not properly clean anything, tangles clothes, and will leave even the cleanest items looking terrible when they come out.Ive had a new circuit board, new transmission, new bearings and gears, new balancing rods, and still, Im left with a machine that does not wash and makes terrible grinding noises. I bought the washer and matching dryer as a set, and even the dryer had to get a new circuit board put in it in the 1st 60 days! After thousands of dollars in repairs on a $1000 washer, Maytag will not admit I have a defective machine and replace it! I just ran a load of laundry and have to call Maytag yet again, because the grinding noise gets louder with every run. Do not waste your money!I would give anything to have the 29 year old set I gave away when I bought this garbage back! I have literally been on the phone with Maytag in tears because it doesnt work properly, Ive had to throw away items that would not come clean because there is not a laundromat available in the town I live in. All I want is to be able to keep my family in clean clothing and linens, doesnt seem like too much to ask.

After two years of light use of Maytag Washer 300 Series (MHWE300VW13), it stopped working. I bought Maytag Repair Plan Plus One on Oct. 8, 2012. I scheduled a service appointment on the 9th of October and was told the broken part needed to be backordered and that I should get the parts on November 5th. I have waited for almost one month. Today is November 6th and I received an email and was told I will have to wait another month! Am I in America? There are so many complaints about Maytag washers online. Can the consumer be protected? Am I complaining to the air here?!

Seems a little ** one of a small child crawled into the washer and a sibling turned it on. We have been married 35 years and seen a lot of washers and this is by far the worst wash machine Ive ever seen. How would you rather do my wash in an old fashioned mangler? Very unsatisfied customer.

Back a couple years ago, Dec. 29, 1983, I purchased a Maytag washer, model A209, and a Maytag Dryer, model DG110. Im still using them daily. The washer has given NO problems, other than the brake has taken to squealing. This causes nothing more than a notice that the load is done, so no repair is necessary. The dryer has proven more problematic, as I have had to replace the ignitor three times, the blower fan twice, and the motor (and belt) once. I still think I have gotten my moneys worth.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set one year ago, and have asked myself why ever since. The oversized laundry tub is what attracted me to the model, but it sure doesnt deliver for the money it cost. On normal settings, it doesnt use enough water for all the clothes to even get wet. After the load was complete, there were areas of my clothes bone dry, and obviously still dirty. I soon learned that the only way the washer uses enough water to get all the clothes wet and clean, was to set the machine on the bulky setting. This is the only setting I use now, but all of my clothes winds up twisted together, sometimes in one big ball. As for efficiency, that statement folks is a joke! Because I use the bulky setting, it uses much more water than a traditional washer ever did, and when the load is off balanced, it will go through another rinse cycle to try to even it out. This machine uses far more water and electricity than my old school set! I suppose if you dont get your clothes dirty, you may not need to use the bulky setting, but thats the only way I can wash my laundry with this machine. The old style set I had before this was Maytag also, and lasted about 20 years. I was more than happy to purchase Maytag again, but this set has been nothing but a disappointment. I dont plan to buy another energy efficient machine again, nor would I recommend this product to anyone!

I bought the largest Maytag top load washer. From day 1 clothes come out with laundry detergent left all over them. I have to take a washcloth and wash off every piece of clothing coming out of the washer. Had a technician come out. He said he gets this complaint every day. His suggestion, put less clothes in and use less detergent. This washer is programmed to use minimal water and it just doesn’t have enough water to clean all the detergent off. So, I bought the biggest washer to wash bigger loads and now you are telling me that just doesn’t work.Spoke with Maytag customer service. They said very rudely if there is no problem found when the technician came out, there is nothing they will do. She told me it was user error. My dryer also stopped working. Sometimes it would turn on, sometimes not. The technician said the lint screen error code came up. He would try to get Maytag to replace the whole board but usually they don’t do that unless the whole board has a problem. Called Maytag the next day. The technician documented he fixed a connection problem and closed the ticket. What???? So, now I guess I need to schedule another service visit. Very unhappy with 5 month old appliances. Paid $1700 for the pair, you expect quality products.

Have owned Maytags (washer and dryers) for 40 years. I bought a Bravos top load washer and matching dryer because we gave our old set to a daughter leaving for college. That was less than four years ago! We bought this because it conserved water and there would only be my husband and myself home. So laundry needs would be minimal. The washer quit draining and starting making a terrible noise several days ago. Immediately called repair service - I knew from the onset this was going to be a big problem because when I told them the model, they responded - uh oh! Two days later service man comes to assess repair and lifts machine up and tells me bad seal has leaked to gear box and ruined it. Soooo for a machine that is less than 4 years old, I will have to pay $280 for part, $79 for service call, $60 for labor and $35 to have them pick it up and redeliver (because the repair is too big to be made in my home). $454 for a machine that gets minimal use!!!! I can add another $100 plus and buy a brand new machine. Why should I have to??? In doing some research, I found out this is a common issue with this model and Maytag has paid for the repair of other washers because it is a common problem. Even the serviceman said that and recommended I get a hold of Maytag. Their response - sorry mam you dont gave an extended warranty. (NOW I HAVE A LEMON!) Guess my next step is to write a letter to Maytag Corporate Office. I will keep going up the ladder until they address this flawed machine problem! One thing is for certain - I will never ever buy another Maytag product of any kind or will I ever recommend it. They are just not reliable. Guess, nowadays they are considered throw away products - keep them a few years and throw them away because its not worth your money and effort to repair them :-(

As with most other owners I am dissatisfied with the cleaning action of the machine. I suspect, that in an attempt to garner green bonus points, the engineers have tweaked the cleaning water amount to the absolute minimum that may do the job and lengthened the wash cycle to the point that laundry for two average adults is an all day affair. Only get a decent washing job if you make very small loads. If you put a set of king cotton sheet in the machine, you will find that the machine manipulates them into the shape of your compact spare tire, and when you take them out... you will find many sections where the water did not reach... bone dry! Reload, rewash, ground hog day with each load. Cant wait for it to throw a bearing so I can get something else.

Recently I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer. These two items are the single worst appliances I have ever purchased. They are loud, ball the clothes into a knot and run forever. I plan to sell them on Craigslist and buy a Speed Queen.

I have had it (Model MDB6000AWB) for a few years now. It had to have the door replaced per recall. This dishwasher does not wash dishes well at all; need to rewash many items after going through normal wash cycle. Also, all spokes are burning and falling off, along with pans getting burn marks. I am not sure how safe this is anymore. I am going to purchase another dishwasher, but not a Maytag!

My Bravos Washer and Gas dryer are only a few years old, and they have both been problematic to say the least! Neither Home Depot nor Maytag have been helpful. My washer has had the shocks replaced already, because it would constantly go off balance and shut down and they cant grease the bearings because they are sealed. So, now it sounds like an airport is in my laundry room! The gas dryer takes an entire day to half dry a load and its burnt on the inside!

Maytag Bravos XL he Washing Machine - Having owned several Maytag washers in the past, I thought this would be perfect, instead, it is the worst washing machine I have ever had. This machine does not clean well at all, spots on clothes stay put. I have tried different amounts of HE detergent and clothes are twisted and wrinkled terribly and have remaining soap residue on them, even when I use less soap than recommended. I wish I would have returned this machine immediately after a few loads. It doesnt get better with time. It is very loud, but that is the least of its problems.

Can not wash 4 pairs of pants or 2 sheets because they get out of balance when the spin cycle begins. I had to take the clothes out and move them around to keep the balance. Very unhappy. Would not recommend this washer.

I purchased a french door Maytag refrigerator in Dec. 2009. We have never had decent ice. Icemaker is in the door and the seal does not keep the ice cavity cold enough. After many, many service calls and a replacement refrigerator, I was told to dump the ice twice a week and get ice out of the dispenser all day long. Really? All day long? It is model #bmft2771web1. They will not take care of this problem. It is a defect but they will not take responsibility for it. I now have a problem with my Maytag double oven! The temp on the bottom oven is 25 to 50 degrees off. I am waiting for my dishwasher and microwave to be next. I will never buy another Maytag. Buyer beware. I have to buy my ice from 7-Eleven. Thats why I bought a $ 2,100 refrigerator, so I can get my ice elsewhere!

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher 15 months ago and was told the control panel is bad. It would cost me $120 to have someone look at it. I might as well buy a new one by the time the parts are added. I called Maytag and they said that there was nothing they could do for me since I was three months past my warranty. Meanwhile, I see all of these complaints about the same problem and Im wondering why there has not been a recall on this. What does it take for that to happen? I will never purchase a Maytag again! MODEL: MFI2265XEM1 - ice maker dispenser leaked water while under warranty; took two separate technician trips to repair. Several months later, called Maytag regarding leak and ice at bottom. Technician replaced w/ grommet w/ larger dia drain tube extension; smaller dia causing backup of water & ice. Now, ice maker quit working completely, ice buildup in bottom part of refrigerator and freezer building up frost which means air is getting into the freezer, and yes, the freezer door is completely shut! Please advise if there is a class action suit. Will contact California Attorney Generals office.

I purchased a 2011 Bravos top loader washer machine. Doing a minimal amount of laundry for 2 persons, the Bravos is in disrepair needing bearings and an inner and outer tub. I was told to purchase a prepaid service call for $350 that will cover repairs plus a mere 1 year additional warranty. The washer sounds like a jet plane, gives off fouls odors, has black tar like residue after each wash and clothes never smell clean. Maytag has no complaint process, except an online chat that tells you to buy the prepay. Maytag has dumped a lemon on consumers and arrogantly expects us to pay for their garbage. They are disrespectful, dishonest and greedy and dont deserve anyones hard earned money for their ill made products.

I remodeled my kitchen last year. I purchased a stove, a dishwasher and a built-in microwave. Two days ago, I was trying to cook rice in the microwave. I changed the heat to 50% to cook the rice, started to cook and I heard this awful noise like a shot gun went off in the kitchen but the microwave was still going, I opened the microwave door and then I turned on the microwave again. At that time, it started to rattle on top of the microwave and shorted out. Black smoke was come out and I saw fire coming from the same area on the right upper corner. I got up on a step that I have and blew away the flames which were not big but if I were not in the kitchen, it may have caused a fire. I got the microwave from Lowes. Since it is almost to the year that I bought this microwave, they offered to replace it at no cost to me. Im getting the same model but Im purchasing the 2-year warranty just in case. I was told by the Lowes salesperson that this was unusual and should not happen again. We will see; its very dangerous. I had microwaves that lasted more than 10 years and had no problems. Maytag, where are you building your appliances and what about your product reliability? If I knew this site before I bought my appliances, I would not have purchased Maytag.

Purchased new about 3 years ago, doesnt clean, ties clothes in knots, leaves white spots from softener that doesnt get wet sometimes after cycle, some areas are still dry after untying. Now error code 51 keeps appearing, service man 4 times replaced rps sensor as directed, nothing changes. Need a chain to drag behind truck, no technical support from Maytag or whirlpool. Old ones of 20 years still worked good, gave to niece. Lucky her.

I have a Maytag refrigerator, Model #MBR 2256KES6, that is only 18 months old. It has totally stopped working. First, there was a large puddle of water on the kitchen floor and then a loud clicking noise in the middle of the night. It does not cool the fridge or the freezer. I cannot believe that a $1300 product is done working at 18 months. I cannot afford a new refrigerator. They should be arrested for selling such junk to the public.

We Purchased a Maytag gas oven/stove three years ago believing it to be the quality of the Maytag of yesteryear, Boy have we been disappointed! When Whirlpool Corp. bought out Maytag several years ago they continued using the Maytag name only.. The quality is now less than substandard, It is a cheaply built piece of crap.. We would sell it in a garage sale and replace it with a quality stove/oven but we dont want anyone else to have to deal with this piece of junk! It will soon go to the landfill!!!

I was told to at first to just leave the door open, then when that did not work I was told that I should bleach my machine at least once a week which I did. That did not work either. Then I was told to buy the product REFRESH and that would take care of the smell. That did not work either. So I am at my wits end with the stench of my clothes.

I bought this over the range Maytag microwave model MMV4205DH-1 5 months ago and today a hairline crack appeared alongside the door handle. I called Maytag to find out how I can get this repaired since, as time progresses, it will become worse due to using the handle to open and close the microwave. I was told this was a cosmetic warranty which expired after 30 days. They would fix it only if the microwave couldnt be opened. Apparently, the handle can become loose but as long as the door opens, they wont do anything.I bought Maytag because of their supposed reputation. Im so glad this happened with my $300 microwave as we were getting ready to replace our washer and dryer and were looking at Maytags. Good to know they dont back their products before I spend several thousand dollars on a washer and dryer. I will NEVER purchase another Maytag. My $120 generic microwave lasted 10 years and I gave it to my son and it is still going strong.

My refrigerator temperature control panel started flashing lights and the ice maker flap started opening and closing over and over. I checked online and there are numerous model #s doing the same thing, most all contacted Maytag, some were fixed for no charge. Some were not even though they admitted there was a defect in the electronic control panel. I was one of the ones they refused to fix because they said it was an older model but they fixed a 2006 model, a defective part is a defective part no matter the age especially if they know and admit there is a problem with the control panel.I cant understand why they wont take care of their problem, so now I have to spend over $300.00 to fix a problem that they made in manufacturing, that is not an outrageous amount, thank goodness, but I just dont understand why they wont stand behind their product when they can fix out for probably half that cost to take care of their problem. I didnt make the refrigerator, they did.

We purchased the Bravos X washing machine on Feb. 9, 2012. I had a Maytag for 30 years before this one and did not have any problems. My model # is MVWX700X. I have given it sufficient time to get used to it. I have tried all cycles for my whites and am not satisfied. I use Clorox in the receptacle and I have only used Tide HE. I spot treat all of our underwear, which is changed every day, and it always comes out unacceptable. I am so disappointed since I was so fond of my old one and only thought I wanted another Maytag. At this point, I would never recommend this machine.

I got no help whatsoever. I will never buy in Maytag again. My washer has had 3 problems in 1 year. They tell you that they will send someone out the next day but they dont come until 4-5 days later.

Nice refrigerator, but cheaply made. I paid 1800 with tax for my french door Maytag and expected higher durability. It operates well but one worries about breaking drawers made of such thin plastic.

I wish that I had looked up reviews before purchasing my washer 6 months ago! No matter which setting I use, the washer never fills up with enough water!! I have pulled clothes out that havent even gotten wet, due to not enough water in machine! All due to the government regulated water levels on the sensors!!!! So, I had my plumber put in hot and cold water faucets, then he put a short Y hose on, so this way I can add water to the machine.... The only thing is, you have to wait for the machine to fill with what it thinks is enough water to get your load clean.... stop the washer, then add the water you need. But if it reaches a certain point, it will automatically start draining. So you have to watch and make sure you stop adding the water, before reaching that point!

Maytag Bravo model MVWB750WQO. Bought this washer in 2009 for 1300 thinking it would last at least 10 years! Wrong! I loved it until a few months ago when it started making VERY LOUD noises during final spins. Sounded like the house was going to take off. Then today it started leaking water. Repairman said it needed a drum, seal and gasket. Would have cost 700-800 to fix. Needless to say we bought a new washer today, and it wasnt a Maytag!! For that much money I was expecting the washer to last a long time!

Purchased the Maytag Bravo Nov 2010 and had to replace it after just 5 years. In the five years we owned it, it required a new water pump and the stabilizers had to be repaired. Its motor burned up and I was not able to find a replacement. I was quoted $224 (parts only) for a replacement motor and 10 weeks delivery. My wife never liked the machine as it was not able to clean clothes that well. We did not find much difference in any of the settings. We tended to put very few clothes in each load in order to get them clean. We were dissatisfied that it did not have a soak cycle and the lid lock was particularly annoying.

Maytag MFD2561 - The metal piece between our French doors is also rusting. It is a design flaw. We also have a GE French door refrigerator and that piece on it is not metal!

I bought a Maytag dishwasher MDB7749AWM1 in May of 2011. Yesterday, the on button would not work, so I called a serviceman out from Maytag. He said the whole panel needs to be replaced, parts and service will cost me $240.00. What a shame. 2 months out of warranty. I had two previous Maytag dishwashers, lasted for years with no problem. The newer models are junk, do not buy them! I can see by the other complaints that they had the same problem. They do not stand behind their product. I wonder how long the new panel will last? Im done with Maytag products!

I purchased a Maytag gas dryer in November 2011. This is January 2012. I have got to use mine maybe 2 weeks altogether since I had it. It is to be repaired for the 4th time tomorrow. In the meantime, I have to go to the laundry mat to dry clothes, Maytag refuses to do anything about this. They say they are helping me by getting it repaired each time it breaks down. I want a new dryer. The retailer I bought it from will not stand behind this product either. You see these commercials on TV where the Maytag guy is sitting back and waiting on a call. Thats a bunch of ***! I have never purchased a product from anyone that they would not stand behind it especially for the 4th time in two months. I will never buy another Maytag product as long as I live and I will tell everyone that I know not to buy one either.

My Maytag dishwasher which is less than 2 yrs old had its control panel and board gone bad. It took almost $400 to fix it. It seems like an ongoing problem and Maytag does not do anything. I would have bought a new dishwasher for that price, but I was already in for almost $200.00. They dont give you prices upfront.

Purchased this double oven back in 2012 and have had to have the control valves replaced twice because of them jamming and snapping. The burners are undersized for cooking and it takes forever to get water to a rolling boil. The broiler in the upper oven needs constant attention when using it because food cooks unevenly and burns quickly. The lower oven is great, convection is awesome. I have seen the Maytag repairman more from my stove than I have for any of the other appliances I owe combined. Maytag should stick to appliances that only use water.

This Maytag dishwasher works great if you are using as a sanitizer for your dishes so long as the dishes were soaked already. It stinks if you do not use it often and requires a lot of bleaching.

We bought our Maytag washer and dryer a bit over 5 years ago. Now the UL warning comes on. Found out it will be over $400 to fix it. It only cost $500 new. Repairman says it is very common and not to pay him to fix it. Our GE went 20 years. Lesson learned, wife is out looking at new GE.

Maytag Centennial eco conserve clothes washer - I purchased a Maytag (non-agitating) washer, (model MVWC400XW) just about a year ago and I cant tell you how dissatisfied I am with this product. It does not clean the simplest of soil from garments. I have actually had clothes come out of the washer after a complete wash cycle, with dry clothes. They recommend putting soap in first, at the bottom of the washer and then load clothes; I have had clothes come out stained as a result the clothes sitting on top of the soap. I am requesting that I be able to return (have this washer picked up) from my home and replaced with a washer with an agitator or a compatible washer that actually washes clothes. I believe that this may qualify as a lemon with regards to California lemon laws.

RE: 5.2 CU Ft Top Load Washer, Model # MVWB865GW0, Serial # C84370937 - Purchased Jan 2019. The clothes come out terribly tangled and severely wrinkled, even when using the Wrinkle Control or Delicate cycle and occurs in every load size. Ive tried every cycle, including the deep fill and low spin speed but items are so wrinkled that whether I lay flat or hang or put them in the dryer, I have to iron them, which I never did before.

Purchased standard Maytag refrigerator w/ freezer on top in 2012. Freezer has never been able to keep ice cream. Never called for repair because after reading several of these complaints, mine seemed to be a minor frustration. However, I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I purchased a Maytag Microwave Oven MMV5208 WS 1 from Home Depot less than two years ago. Mine was actually manufactured in April 2013 according to the ID tag. A couple of months ago it started acting up because a switch when the door closes began to malfunction and you had to open and close the door several times to get the microwave started. Then all of a sudden when you set the timer and pushed the start button it would flash on and immediately shut off. This is extremely frustrating because I paid more than $400.00 and purchased it less than two years ago. I am disappointed because Maytag advertises its reliability and this microwave is anything but reliable.

I purchased a Maytag gas stove. Right away I noticed the oven racks would sag in the middle pulling the back corners to pull away from sides dropping the rack down on top of rack below. I got a hold of Maytag and they sent me out a set of 3 new oven racks that were exactly the same as the ones I had. I have been fighting with them for years. I called Whirlpool today who make Maytag and was told its off warranty and that I can order another set of oven racks at a cost to me. They would be the same as I have. The racks are so cheaply made and cannot stand even a few pounds. The finish on the stove also chips very easily. You rub a pan up against it and it scratches the white porcelain off. I spent a lot of money buying the dream gas stove I had thought, but only to be unsatisfied with my purchase. Buyer beware of Maytag products.

We have had this refrigerator since January 2011. All was OK for 18 months. Then the lid to the deli drawer fell off, the plastic bar that holds the two drawers up broke (weve had to use roof shingles to prop them up) and another one of the plastic pieces crumbled. Now the ice maker wont work and the refrigerator makes a loud ticking noise. There are only two older adults here and we have not treated this appliance roughly. After reading all the complaints on this site, Im wondering if any of it is worth fixing. My GE refrigerator worked for almost 20 years.

Didnt even want to put 1 star but that is the lowest you can give. Maytag microwave less than a year old paid $350. Door clasp broke. Took two weeks to send a repairman out, he came out and of course did not have the part -- took another week to get it. Fixed the door and then he crashed and burned the microwave shorted it out and now it is totally dead. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago. Maytag refuses to replace the microwave and insists that the same incompetent service company come out and fix it. Meanwhile I have to call Maytag every other day to find out when the correct part to repair the microwave will be in. Was told it would be in two days ago. Never got a call to schedule the repair, called today to find out they never even ordered the part. Here goes another week without my microwave. Not only does Maytag have horrible customer service, they manage to find unskilled repair techs with equally horrible customer service! Will never ever buy another May useless Tag appliance again.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher in July 2013. In October 2014 it stopped working. None of the buttons on the control panel would light up. The service technician diagnosis was that it needs a new control panel at a cost of about $200.00. We chose not to do the repair since the technician recommended against it.

We bought this washer in 2009. It has only been 5 years and we had a problem with the lid, now it leaks on the floor and most of all it has been rusting on the lid, the sides and rusting around the bleach port. Rusting on the top edge of the outside metal skin. I am not happy with this product at all. The serial number CV0870202. Model number is MVWB800VQZ. It is a quiet series purchased on 2009. I am not happy with the quality of this washer and I will not buy another Maytag.

I just found this website & do not have my model info with me. But we have bought 2 Maytag refrigerators since 2001. We still have the 2nd refrigerator but I want to replace it as soon as we can. They were different models but had/have the exact same problem. They freeze up into sheets of ice and then leak puddles of water on to the floor. Makes me mad when I see their ad about how great their product is - what a load of crap! My first refrigerator was a General Electric; it was still running after 19 years when I left the farm. I still have my 2nd General Electric refrigerator (18 years old) down in my family room - running like a top! NOT EVER GOING TO BUY MAYTAG AGAIN!

Dryer delivered nonfunctional. Tech showed up the following Tuesday. Diagnosis main board and one sensor dead. Tech returns following Thursday. Replacement board DOA. New dryer still nonfunctional. Awaiting new board with no functional $1100 dryer. This dryer replaced my three year old Maximus which was deemed too expensive to repair after three repairs. Please do not buy a Maytag/Whirlpool product.

My washing machine was noisy from the start. We had recently purchased a new fridge and were told when we questioned its noise thats just the way they are. So we didnt question the noisy washer as we should have. The noise got louder as time went on and at the 18 month mark, it was so bad, we had someone look at it. The washer had never cleaned as well as expected, but again, we were too busy to follow up. The repairman advised that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced! Augh! $450 for parts $300 for labour! I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and was advised they would go good for the parts, I would have to pay labour. Not being terribly impressed, did a bit of research and was told it was worth fixing. As it was technically out of warranty, I was lucky to have them pay for parts. Took 6 weeks to get part. In that time, had questions about delay, etc... at one point was yelled at on the phone by Melissa from Whirlpool as I asked to speak to a supervisor. So fun :( First part comes and it is defective, luckily there was another one in Vancouver, so only an additional 4 day wait. My machine is now fixed. It is extremely quiet and cleans very well. Suffice to say, it was defective from the start. So, Ive gotten to pay an extra $300 over retail to have a working machine! Lucky me! Repairman also advised that he recommends everyone to purchase the additional 5 year warranty as the manufacturers are now only making machines with a 7 year life expectancy and I was VERY lucky in the beginning to get someone to even talk to me after the 1 year mark.

7 years is all I got from these appliances. The Maytag Washer started making a horrible noise when washing then smoke and shut off. Dryer would not shut off. We have taken excellent care with these appliances servicing them as we had an extended warranty on both. They cost us over $600 for the washer and $589 for the dryer, a big rip off! I purchased them in hopes I would at least get 15-20 years of service as Maytag is to be one of the best. Do not purchase any products from this company, they also have sister companies. Make sure when you need an appliance, you ask who makes them.

Maytag Centennial Washer MVWC400XW2 - Bought this washer Fall 2011 -- first 6 months had to be serviced and now (February 2016) needs to be serviced again - has not cleaned my clothes for the last 3 months. Now, I have had to order a new washer - you can bet it wasnt a Maytag. My new washer will not be delivered for another 3 weeks. Past the part of not cleaning clothes, now it wont even empty the water, or pump out the water. It makes a horrible noise! Before it wouldnt use any water, now, it fills completely up. I do not know if it will make it through this current load much less another 3 weeks. Always bought Maytag before BUT WILL NOT AGAIN - after what I have been through with this washer!

Whos up for a class action lawsuit against Maytag? I believe Maytag is making claims that are NOT true. I bought a new Maytag Bravos XL in Nov 2015. I asked the salesperson to point me to a deep water washing machine for Large loads. Salesperson sold me the Maytag Bravos XL MCT and made claims I would have 30% more water than the other washers. The sales pitch (according to Manufacture) is these smart machines have sensors that can detect how much water is needed. THIS IS NOT TRUE. My Maytag machine only gives me 1-2 inches of water on the normal and rinse cycles and maybe 4-5 inches on deep water cycle!!! Certainly not enough to cover clothes, towels or sheets. I immediately called Sears. Tech is basically being trained to tell consumers thats the way it is. This is the new future in washing machines. So, My recommendation - hire an attorney to get your money back!

I bought my fridge (Maytag French Door Fridge MFF2258VEW) in September 2009. It took forever to get it and when it was delivered, the door was dented so I had to wait for a new door to be replaced. The fridge stopped cooling just before Thanksgiving 2011. I had to throw out a lot of food. It was the circuit board and that was covered under the warranty. I noticed a couple of months later that the freezer was freezing up again and was worried that the fridge would go out again and in February 2012, they came out again and it turned out that the freezer had been put back incorrectly and the freezer gasket didnt fit right and thus, the freezing up on the circuit board. Now it is May 21, 2012, and I came home for lunch to find the fridge not working again! I cant get anyone out to fix it until Wednesday, the 23rd. Now we are in warm weather and I just went to the store and had a full fridge. I still have the warranty and will for another 14 months. I think if this continues to happen and when the warranty is up, we will have to replace this fridge. I can tell you for sure that it will not be another Maytag! What a piece of junk!

This machine that I bought 2 1/2 years ago is very loud. Sounds like a helicopter that is going to hit the house. Last week the machine did not empty and would not spin. What a mess. We had to take the clothes out and try to wring them out by hand. Then we had to scoop all the water out. Had to call a repairman to fix it. $187 which included two trips to the house and a new pump. The pump was $56. Just the last year my grandson came to live with us, but before that there were just two of us in the house to do laundry for.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo washing machine and dryer from Home Depot so needless to say, it was not an inexpensive purchase. I absolutely will NEVER purchase another Maytag ANYTHING! The washer will not spin and when it does, it sounds like it is coming through the washroom doors. The heating element has had to be replaced in the dryer and has always had a sour smell inside. I have nothing nice to say about these products and would absolutely NOT recommend them to even my worst enemy!

I have NEVER written a review however I am compelled to write up and if I can save at least 1 family from making the mistake I did then my review will be worth it so just before Christmas last year I treated myself to a new washer. I looked at so many. Only 2 things on my wish list were 1) American Made and 2) have a large capacity for blankets and bedding. Well, I was so excited about my Maytag Bravos XL Washer but my excitement didnt last long. 4. There is a major design flaw in this machine. I have given it plenty of time and have tried to talk myself to liking it but when you have to wash the white loads at least 3 times to get them clean and still not getting the results expected then its time to admit to yourself that I made a mistake.The large capacity drum is an irrelevant because once the clothes are wet they become too heavy for the drum base to actually agitate the clothes. What ends up actually happening is your wet clothes sit in a pile. The user tends to scale the loads back to help the machine. The above problem is partly due to the fact that the machine NEVER fills up the drum with enough water to submerge the clothes where perhaps they would be able to move freely with the base agitator and the drum rotating. This model was marketed as water conserving however we find ourselves washing loads 2-4 times to achieve the desired outcome. Conserving water at this point is a joke... we end up using more water and energy to get a load of clothes clean.Bleach dispenser does not empty completely during the white cycle even when less than recommended measurements are used. If a load of whites needs to be washed we have to wash with bleach on the 1st go, and then 2 more cycles without bleach. Otherwise anything washed after the whites gets spots of bleach on them. For these and many more reasons this machine should NOT be on the market and especially not for over $800 USD! And I would not want this product to represent US production. It does not deliver on any of its selling points and is overpriced.

Fire Hazard - poorly designed with vent at bottom of oven, Warped Drawer and Melted cabinet surface. Nowhere in the install instructions does it say not to mount above drawers. Whirlpool tried to blame dealer. Buyer beware.
