We recently purchased a Maytag refrigerator, love it, no problems until the mystery person in my house accidentally broke the slide out door for bottom drawer. So I called Maytag, and with no questions asked they sent me a new part by Purolator! Great customer service makes everything better! Thanks Maytag.

I bought a new refrigerator and when I plugged it in would not cool. I called and the authorized tech came and said the compressor was bad and the evaporator was rusted and hoses were greased up. I have now been informed that the warranty was void because it was put in a dental office and not a single home. I said since it was never used I would put it in a house. They said it was void and I was out of luck. I always thought maytag sold good products but this has convinced me to never buy a product from them again. It never worked and the tech said it should be replaced but they said he should never had told us this.

This product was purchased in March. In September, the agitator broke off. Thats a new one on me with a washer. Every other one Ive bought tended to last 10 years or so, then something like a motor wore out. It was an obvious design flaw on a topheavy agitator held on by a flimsy plastic sleeve. To make matters worse, their warranty service seems mostly geared to selling extended warranties, necessitated by the poor quality and bad design of their products. So, for a mere $182, I can have it covered for the next six or seven times the agitator breaks. No thanks, Ill figure out how to fix it myself when its no longer under warranty, or just cut my losses by buying another machine, and never another Maytag or Whirlpool product. I had a similar experience with a Whirlpool refrigerator purchased in April 2017, which had a defective module that went fortunately just before it was out of warranty.

A refrigerator we have had for just two years has been leaking water from the freezer and damaged our hardwood floor. We thought it was someone dropping ice or leaving the freezer drawer open but no, there is an admitted problem with the mechanism. No coverage from Maytag for the cost of fixing THEIR MISTAKE. The company doesnt seem to care. Got the run around from their management.

Horrible Refrigerator MSB27C2XAM00. I bought this refrigerator November 2013. Over the past 5 months I have made over 10 calls to Maytag customer service. Each phone call averages 30-45 minutes in length. In total I have and have had 6 service repair visits. Within 4 weeks of acquiring the unit, the letters on the ice/water dispenser wore off. They replaced the panel and within 4 weeks the letters wore off on the replacement panel. The subsequent calls made to customer service were regarding slow water dispensing and shrinking ice cubes. I was advised in order to maintain water speed and decent sized ice cube production I would have to replace the filter every time the water dispensing slows, which is on average every 4 to 6 weeks (each filter costs $40).When I asked why I would have to change the filter so frequently when the packaging instructions with the water filter states you can expect an average of 6 months use or 200 gallons, (mind you we are a family of 2 adults and one child under the age of 10 surely not consuming 200 gallons of water within 4 weeks), Maytag advised me to attain a whole house water filtration system. I was told that the water supply to my home must require extra filtration which is why the filters are not lasting. I asked if other NYC residents have made such complaints. Maytag advised they cannot share this information for confidentiality reasons. I told the rep that I did not want specific names/address of the complainants. I just wanted to know if there were any other similar complaints! If its the NYC water supply I would have to believe there would be similar complaints. Maytag would not advise. They will not budge in replacing the unit. After spending $1,400 on this refrigerator I am now expected to invest $500 annually on water filters in order for the refrigerator to work properly. I was also advised that if another service tech came to my home and the issue was found to be the same I would be responsible for payment of the service call. I did my research before purchasing this Maytag product. I ultimately selected Maytag for their reputation. I am so disappointed with this unit and with the company that I will never purchase another Maytag appliance and I will advise everyone I know to never purchase from this company again. Such a disappointment!

I purchased a French Door, Bottom Freezer refrigerator in the summer of 200
I purchased a French Door, Bottom Freezer refrigerator in the summer of 2006. Less than 3 years later, the ice maker door kept opening and closing and the lights on the door panel kept flashing. I called Maytag and found out there was a problem with the circuit board, and that it was under recall. The refrigerator was fixed at no charge and I was happy. Approximately 2-1/2 months ago, less than 7 years after I bought the fridge, it started getting too cold inside and then too warm and then too cold, etc. Then it stopped cooling altogether. From what I read, it was either a problem with the compressor or the relay on the compressor. There was a recall on the relay on some models, but not on mine. I cant even afford a service call. Let alone a repair charge. If the compressor is the problem, Im looking at a repair bill in the hundreds of dollars. The online price for a compressor is over $300. I dont have the money. So the beautiful refrigerator that I paid $2,000 for sits in the kitchen, unplugged. I never figured that Id pay that kind of money for a refrigerator and have 2 major problems with it in less than 7 years. I just got off the phone with Maytag and, of course, they cant do anything to help me. I was hoping to never buy another refrigerator, but if I have to or if I have to buy any other appliance, I will never ever buy another Maytag or Whirlpool. I will post everywhere I can about my experiences with this refrigerator.

My Maytag refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot less than 3 years ago. It is a French door, bottom freezer draw model #MFI2569VEA1. Every four days, there is a huge puddle of water at the base of the unit and it is starting to ruin my ceramic tiles. I tried the online video solutions to no avail. Home Depot wont repair it, they told me to contact Maytag. Maytag wants me to purchase a $375 warranty, which is 30% of what I paid for the refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again, or any Maytag product for that matter. They once stood for solid reliability and peace of mind, now you get a piece of junk instead. I cant even sell it on Craigslist if I wanted to because who would want it? If a class action suit is ever initiated, Ill be on board. I hope Consumer Affairs contacts me.

At 36 months old, my Maytag refrigerator has already suffered from a Freon leak. After repair, the leak continued causing the fridge not to produce ice. After another Freon charge 7 days later, the fridge will freeze ice only in a manual ice tray. The water in the ice maker for whatever reason will not freeze? To make matters even worse, the freezer fan has been noisy for the last year. Maytags solution is to purchase extended warranty for $300 plus or hire repair person at $100 for first hour. A 36 month old refrigerator is in essence a disposable item. Basically for a $700 fridge… that breaks down to about $20.00 per month service charge and then it’s time to replace!

We purchased a Maytag stainless steel French door refrigerator from Home Depot in 2011. The thermostat control (a circuit board made in China) broke and was replaced in 2012 by a certified repair person. He reminded me to dust underneath regularly, which Ive done. A couple of weeks ago I noticed some darkening of my wood floor to the left of the refrigerator and so I pulled it out from the wall a bit. What I saw was that my entire floor was wet and falling apart under the left side and when I looked into the freezer, I pulled out the bottom basket and the bottom was covered in about an inch of ice.I called, posted on Facebook and was put on hold several times for as long as 20 minutes before I hung up. I called Home Depot and asked them to intervene and speak to a rep from Maytag. I have heard nothing. There is black mold in the corner of my kitchen and a soaked floor that may go way beyond. I googled the leak and apparently this is very common with Maytag French Door refrigerators. I have a meeting with an attorney. Getting through to Maytag is seemingly impossible unless you have hours to wait on the phone. We have been getting sick for months and not knowing the cause.

The way the side by side fridge/freezer is built contributed to several injuries. I am 60 tall and of normal size, and accessing anything in the side doors lower down always results in smashed head, near bleeding injuries. I am so sick and tired of it. No other fridge has done this to me. Add that to the shelves being near razor sharp. One of these days this fridge is going to land me in the hospital with a lawsuit. Most people are not 3 feet tall or 8 feet tall, thats the only way to use this fridge safely!

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot on 5/17/11. It would run, then not run. It spoiled all the food not in the freezer and most of the food in the freezer. This happened early November, being less than six months old. My wife called on 11/8/11, they repaired it on 11/18/11. Ten days of no refrigerator and a lost of about $200 in spoiled food. The company would not pay for any of the money I lost for the spoiled food!

I already have warped floor boards as a result. I just got it fixed. The repair person said he has done over 200 of these repairs in the last year. He also said Maytag knows its a defect and has supplied them with replacement parts. The company apparently tells its repair companies not to discuss this with their customers. I have yet to contact Maytag, although apparently from others experiences that will be futile. Im willing to join others in pursuing this. We have had the same problem as everyone else. We have the freezer on the bottom model. It started when the fridge was less than a year old, with water on the floor and ice buildup on the bottom of the freezer. Since then we have needed to have same repairman come at least 4 times because the top part suddenly gets very warm, food spoils, and water accumulates under the produce drawers. I bought my fridge (Maytag French Door Fridge MFF2258VEW) in September 2009. It took forever to get it and when it was delivered, the door was dented so I had to wait for a new door to be replaced. The fridge stopped cooling just before Thanksgiving 2011. I had to throw out a lot of food. It was the circuit board and that was covered under the warranty. I noticed a couple of months later that the freezer was freezing up again and was worried that the fridge would go out again and in February 2012, they came out again and it turned out that the freezer had been put back incorrectly and the freezer gasket didnt fit right and thus, the freezing up on the circuit board. Now it is May 21, 2012, and I came home for lunch to find the fridge not working again! I cant get anyone out to fix it until Wednesday, the 23rd. Now we are in warm weather and I just went to the store and had a full fridge. I still have the warranty and will for another 14 months. I think if this continues to happen and when the warranty is up, we will have to replace this fridge. I can tell you for sure that it will not be another Maytag! What a piece of junk!

I purchased your refrigerator (model #mfd2561heb) in 2005. I bought a Maytag, because I thought it would last me a lifetime. I came to find out it will not. I called Maytag, and got Repair Plus One. The repairman came out without a compressor or capacitor. Now, I have to wait 4 days or more. I have a 3 year olds birthday party, of which we will be working out of our 19 year old Kenmore in the garage, which has worked flawlessly. To make it short, you lost me as a customer, because of this product! I just wanted to let you know. It is sad too, as we enjoyed the refrigerator. Its been making noise for awhile. I thought it was just part of the ice maker. Now, it cost me another $299, plus all the food I had to throw out! There was a big recall of refrigerators from Maytag around the time mine was made. I think that this model should be part of that recall as well. Dont buy a Maytag! They may have had quality at one time, but I just think those days are gone. Thank God for our Kenmore in the garage. I dont know what I wouldve done without it.

We bought the fridge (MFF2258VEW2) about 5 years ago. We have had nothing but problems. First it was the water leaking all over the floor. The repair man said the drain tube in the back was too small. That was replaced. Then the door gaskets were replaced. The doors still do not stay closed. Again water leaking all over the floor. The bottom of freezer had ice all over it. I had to take the back of the fridge and freezer. For 2 days I had a fan blowing on to defrost it. The door shelves are cracked and falling off. I had to pay for the hooks that hold up the bottom shelf 5 times and again they are broken. The long narrow slide out shelf is broken. Food in the back of the fridge are freezing. I have contacted Maytag a lot and they will not fix the problems. At the same time I bought the fridge I bought a Maytag top load HE washer and a drier. I had to throw out the washing machine last year. It would have cost me too much money to fix it. I will never EVER buy Maytag again.

Our prior fridge died on a hot long weekend in July 2020. Desperate for a fridge, I ordered any fridge that could be delivered the same day. Received a Maytag which totally died 3 months later! Now I am waiting for a part (which apparently the Manufacturer has 100 in their inventory but havent distributed them to the source that ordered them). I was told it was too close to the weekend so they would be out Mon. the 29th and I should just to get some dry ice. They came and the order said nothing about a motherboard, which is what the tech person who came also said it needed. Now they will be here on the 7th of Oct - maybe. 12 days is highly unsatisfactory for refrigerator repair. They had 4 days to see that the provider had a motherboard before the serviceman wasted a trip. Ive spent $102 on dry ice and now Im going to lose the food anyhow. I like the refrigerator but the service is really terrible so I wont be buying another Maytag appliance. We bought a Maytag refrigerator serial # K11101146 and model # MBL2258XES1 on 5/7/2011. We started seeing puddles on the floor about a month ago coming from the bottom freezer. The warranty on the refrigerator was only good for a year. We investigated it further online and saw that a lot of other people were having the same problem. We found a video on Youtube on the solution, which was to tear the bottom frig apart (which is a pain and takes about 3 hours to complete) and to thaw out all the ice accumulated on the coils and run hot water down the drain until that thaws out. It makes a real mess. Now we see that this will probably have to be done again and again from others online who are having the same problem. We never had this problem with any of our refrigerators or any problem with them for that matter. Our last one was a 15-year old Amana and we wanted a more energy efficient refrigerator. We bought this one at Home Depot thinking that this one would last us for the rest of our lives. We are in our mid 60s now. This should not be happening at all especially as much as we paid for the refrigerator. I contacted Maytag and they more or less said, “Sorry about your luck.” I hope something can be done about this, especially for the amount of complaints filed. Unfortunately I did not take pictures but if it happens again, which I understand from other complaints that it will. Thank you.

The unit has an ice maker. On a regular basis, water would accumulate at the bottom of the freezer pan. When the bottom pan got filled up, water would run out on to my hardwood floor. I related the problem to the ice maker. Researching the problem, I learned that the ice maker has an adjustment for timing the on cycle for filling the ice tray. After several adjustments nothing changed. I ordered a water control valve and installed it. The problem persisted. I installed a water pressure regulator but the problem persisted. I installed a water filter, the problem persisted. I turned off the entire ice maker and the problem persisted. The problem wasnt the ice maker. The real problem was the defrost cycle of the evaporator. The drain for the water was plugged with ice. I made modifications to the design so I could monitor the drain hole in the back of the freezer. Will I purchase another Maytag… probably not?

April 26, 2011, I purchased a Maytag top and bottom fridge from Home Depot. After a few days, I noticed frost starting to form in my frost-free freezer and the fridge wasnt really that cold. I adjusted the dials thinking that may do the trick. Nothing changed, it was all the same and instead, frost was thicker. I contacted Maytag, which by the way was taken over by Whirlpool. I told them my situation and since I had just bought the fridge, I wanted a new replacement. They told me things didnt work that way, that I had to honor the warranty. Fine, we are almost entering October now. I have had several services calls, I have written to the Better Business Bureau, I have lost a few hundred dollars worth of food for it would be full of ice and had to be thrown out, I have contacted the executive offices of Whirlpool but they, along with the Better Business Bureau are not doing a thing. Tomorrow, once again, I am having a service call and once again, I know the issue will not be fixed. All I wanted was to either get my money back, along with extra for the loss of food or for them to just exchange it for another one, since this one was purchased with a problem. I really dont think that its right that they are able to get away with this. Just looking at this page, I see that there are plenty of people with this same issue. What is being done about it? If it were them with this issue instead of us, you know ** well they would have had a new fridge the following day. Here is my model# M1TXEMMWQ and serial# VS04658359 for this fridge. Please, I would really appreciate some help here.

After owning my refrigerator for about six months, it started to reek, the smell permeating all of the food in the fridge. After cleaning and disinfecting the fridge and throwing out all of the food I found that the smell was just as bad as before. When I checked online I found that Maytag owners have been complaining about the smell for over a decade now. It is caused by a poorly installed drain pan. The fridges design directs air flow so that the smell enters the fridge and distributes it evenly throughout the fridge.

Whirlpool was absolutely disrespectful and only offered me to the option to buy another discounted $8K unit for a with ~ $2K discount. So far approx. $6K unit + approx. $1K extended warranty (not honored) + approx. $1K parts and service out of my pocket (Whirlpool continued to tell me it was not warranted). Although the operator’s manual said it was covered. While under warranty Whirlpool doesnt have replacement parts to service it. Multiple service tech are telling me there are many known issues with this unit. Found out there’s class action law for the same issues Im experiencing. Whirlpool only offered a new unit at approx. $6K. So total for me to date if I choose to take the discounted unit would be $12K. Dont buy this unless you have a good lawyer. Hardly seems reasonable. We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator Model # MBF2258DEHM on 12/21/2015. Just a couple of issues I would like to bring to your attention before you purchase your Maytag. The single refrigerator door does not close automatically. You have to close the door. The metal handle is metal and has a metal smell and feel to it. The stainless steel door and the handles are not the same finish. Although this might not be a problem for some who like the industrial look I prefer my hands to be free of chemicals while I am preparing food. The ice maker takes up too much room. The ice maker should have been an option, not a standard item. I had a Kitchen Aid for 10 years and loved it. I thought I was going to have my Kitchen Aid for 15 years or more. I would have purchased another Kitchen Aid, but the reviews were not good.

Model MBF 2258XEW3. I am very annoyed with this fridge. Never will buy a Maytag again. I went to this site to see what the problem with my fridge was and read that I am not the only one with this problem. From the beginning it never worked right. Often the food in the fridge got ice crystals in them so I had to up the temp. This made the freezer not cold enough so I had to lower the temp again. This is a constant affair. Now the bottom of the freezer is collecting an ice sheet or a water bath that has to be removed every other day so that it doesnt built up or leak out. Will have to buy a new fridge. But now I am worried that I might buy another lemon.

Maytag bottom freezer / refrigerator: What a low-quality operation these guys are operating. We have a 5-year-old double door unit, which is not a cheap ticket item; and we thought that Maytag was from the days of old. The compressor failed along with ice makers and some high-use parts inside. I can understand the plastic lids and guides wearing out with heavy use, but not the compressor. I called Maytag and was directed to their proud Tennessee Service Location. It might as well be in China, where the real owners are located. She said, Oh well, we build quality units that are to last 12 years. However, they are man-made, and you cant count on that being a positive thing. What arrogance. I might get stuck with another brand from Asia. But it will never be a Maytag or any other in their family of products. The repairman is really busy these days.

Im writing in reference to Model # MF12569YEM2. Bought this 3 years ago for close to 3k. Since then it forms a sheet of ice under the bottom freezer and leaks water onto the floor. It has ruined my hardwood floor and leaked through the floor to my basement and now need to re-sheetrock the ceiling. Its a bad design and should have been recalled because I see everyone else with this model is having the same issue.

Every 3 months, the freezer compartment needs to be dismantled to unclog the defrost drain hole. When this occurs, it dumps all the defrost all over the base of the freezer which then leaks water out of the freezer door all over the floor. Clearly a design flaw and Maytag will not acknowledge this but appliance repairman says these are notorious for this. A $1700 fridge shouldnt do this. Never will I buy a Maytag again, a complete POS.

Unbeknownst to us, our Maytag Refrigerators (MFD2561KES) ice maker developed a problem with the fill hose which connects to the back of the refrigerator, causing it to pop off. The hose had been leaking water onto our wood floor causing all of the boards under the refrigerator and 6 feet in front to buckle. I cannot see why Maytag did not use a compression fitting instead of using a squeeze type hose clamp. Plus the ice maker has left a large sheet inside the freezer on the bottom. I use the ice maker daily to fill my cooler for work.We also have a Maytag Dishwasher which has a push button panel in front which has decided to give out as well. Not to mention our Maytag Double Oven which has never been able to close properly since we have had it. (The service man said that there is nothing wrong with it). We bought our house 7 years ago and my wife wanted nothing but Maytag because of our experience in the past. I gave up buying american automobiles years ago and I guess the same will happen when I replace these appliances (after I finish paying for my new floor).

We bought our refrigerator 14 months ago and it has a 10 yr limited parts warranty. Both the freezer and refrigerator quit working, right after we spent $600 in groceries. I called the warranty dept and the soonest they could get here to service it, was 9 days later cause they only go thru Diamond Preferred, to do the repairs. Then on the 9th day, Diamond Preferred calls to let us know that unfortunately, they cant get here to fix it until another 5 DAYS!! Two weeks with NO refrigerator and freezer, is ridiculous. They should pay another repair place to come out instead of just relying on the ONE!! Our food is now ruined, $600 worth. And to top it off, weve had to eat out costing us more money, and then once its finally fixed, we have to go buy more groceries. I will NEVER buy a Maytag appliance, ever again!

Our 26 month old Maytag fridge (Model MFF2258VEM8) was the french door freezer on bottom modern style fridge. The freezer stopped working. The repair shop took the fridge away and repaired a leak (quality control issue) and then the compressor failed in a test. They wanted $700 to make a repair that would have a 90 day warranty about 1/2 the cost of the fridge. Maytag was contacted at multiple levels and they would not even provide a free compressor or provide a substantial discount on a new fridge. What a way to treat a customer who once had all major Maytag appliances in our home. We decided to get a GE Profile fridge and are very happy with it. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. I dont think it is the great company it once was years ago.

We purchased a French door Maytag refrigerator model MFD2561HEB in November
We purchased a French door Maytag refrigerator model MFD2561HEB in November 2007. In August 2008, the unit stopped working suddenly. The high voltage control board was replaced under warranty, but the tech could not determine why the board failed. I called Maytag to demand a new refrigerator. The best they would do was to extend the warranty for 6 months, no charge. The unit quit twice more in September. A tech was summoned (paid service call), nothing found. It started working again. Since then, the thing has quit several times. We unplug, move all food to a second refrigerator, wait a day, plug it in, and move the food back. The useless box quit completely this week, not quite 5 years of service life. The tech said the board must be replaced again, no guarantee. We declined. I called Maytag again to demand a new replacement and escalated the complaint. They are to call back, ha! In the 5 years of poor service (and poor customer service) from Maytag, the 30-year old second refrigerator has been up to the task of preserving our food. This experience has made me vow never to do business with a Whirlpool-affiliated brand again.

Bought a brand new Maytag French Door Bottom Mount refrigerator in 2014 to simply upgrade to stainless steel. Put my old refrigerator that I have had for 17 years in the garage. Never EVER had an issue with it and it still runs perfectly. Well, just out of warranty in May of 2015, the ice maker stopped working in the new Maytag. Called and got service. Learned there was a recalled part. Service man fixed. 2 days later, it broke again. They came back out and fixed again. This time, the motor was REALLY LOUD. They came out to replace that. Now, both the freezer and refrigerator are not properly cooling. Cannot keep ice cream and cannot make ice. Called again. I was told these dual fan systems simply do not work. I am out of warranty and too bad for me. A wasted $2500!!!

Bought a Maytag French door refrigerator MFT2976AEM01 in August 2013. Started having problems before the refrigerator was a year old. I called to get it serviced and it took 4 months to get a repairman to check it out. He fixed one part and then ordered another part that he needed which took 3 months to get. After he replaced that part the refrigerator continued to have problems. The serviceman has been out to repair my unit 6 times so far. He has no confidence in the Service Engineers from Maytag. They recommended yet another part be replaced, however now Maytag will not cover the parts cost. They offered to let me buy a new fridge at a discount. After spending about $2700 in August 2013, I dont have the $ to spend again for a refrigerator. My refrigerator is so loud it has been waking me up for about a month now and I am sick and tired of it. Shame on Maytag for having such terrible customer service! I will never ever ever recommend a Maytag because this has been a nightmare!

Built a new house, bought new appliances for the kitchen. Like others, did all the research, wanted to buy American made. Wow, did we ever make a mistake. Refrigerator is just over 2 years old. It is worthless. Repairman, Maytag Certified, says that it appears to be internal problems and probably come from the factory that way. He suggested I contact Maytag directly and they should be able to make things right for me and my family. So, I called, sat on hold for 10-15 minutes, and was finally connected to a customer service employee. I explained all that I knew about the problem, she pulled the repairmans notes and the notes of the technician that had spoken with the repairman. After reviewing the file, she informed me that my 2-year-old refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing that could be done. What ever happened to American Made companies standing behind their product? I didnt spend $2000 on a refrigerator that would last me 2 years. I expected 7-10 years, AT LEAST! I expected a company with the name MAYTAG to show some shame for creating a piece of junk and charging a customer this much money for something they know is obviously flawed from the factory. Shame? No. Guilt? None whatsoever.Caution to those considering a Maytag product. Run away! Go find a more reputable company. Go find a company who views customer service and quality products as a priority. I didnt purchase the cheapest refrigerator on purpose. I paid extra for American made and what I thought was a quality product sold by a quality company. Reality has now set in.

I purchased a bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator two years ago. It recently began leaking water onto the floor from the freezer compartment. I just had it serviced and the serviceman told me that it was a common problem. The duck-billed check valve gets plugged. This is a problem with Maytag, Jenn-Air, Whirlpool, Amana, and KitchenAid refrigerators as they all share the same manufacturer. There is a service bulletin out on this that lists hundreds of model numbers affected by the problem (Technical Service Pointer #: W10632338). I think it is criminal that consumers are expected to pay hundreds of dollars to have this manufacturers defect repaired. I tried to find a place with the government to file a complaint, but wasnt clear who had jurisdiction. Perhaps a class action suit is in order. There have to be millions of consumers potentially facing this problem. Anyone with any knowledge of how to further pursue this defect, please comment.

I need a new circuit board for a $2500 refrigerator. It was Saturday night of a holiday weekend when the ice chute started opening and closing and lights on door panel flashed like crazy. I called Maytag, who set up a service appointment for me for Monday. The tech came at 6pm and said there was nothing he could do without a part from Maytag and left. I proceeded to throw out all spoiled food and load a cooler with ice. I called Maytag, and they said it will take about a week to receive the part and have service. I have children in the house, and we live in Miami. I said that I would pay for overnight delivery of the part, and they told me it couldnt be done. I called this morning for a tracking number of the part, and they told me that it wasnt sent out as of yet. Product: Maytag MFI2665XEM Ice2O 25.5. Bought this refrigerator on Feb. 2013 at Home Depot. Maytag cannot repair the heat exchanger as it is a discontinued model. Our only option: Purchase another comparable current model refrigerator with a full price of $2,199.00. It will be sold to us for a discount price of $1,308.00 with free delivery. NJ tax and installation not included. This is a two year old refrigerator with orig over $2000. We had requested for a repair since August 2015. We had spoiled food expenses and rented a temporary refrigerator. Numerous attempts to repair and order the parts to no avail. The excuse is either they ordered the wrong part and eventually was told its been discontinued. Our warranty was automatically canceled. We have spent numerous hours with the Maytag customer service and was given a promise to find the part overseas as well to get the appliance fixed. Finally, this morning of November 2, 2015, we were given the final Im sorry and this is all we can offer you, to buy another refrigerator from us. It appears that this is a defective model but we have not received any recall letters or warning about it. This needs to be addressed as this is an unacceptable practice and deceiving to the consumers, and certainly unfair for people like us who work very hard to pay for this appliances. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator about two years ago because of the Maytag quality hype. The ice maker has been leaking almost from day one and I need to clear out the ice from the bottom of the freezer every few weeks. Now the thing has quit cooling all together. I contacted the Maytag website and they recommended a local authorized repair firm. I took a day off work to meet the service provider. After checking the fridge they informed me that the problem was with the sealed system and that they could not work on it, and that I would need to contact Maytag to get a real Maytag repair person to come and fix the thing (right back where I started). They were however more than happy to charge me $70.00 for a service call. I tried the Maytag 1 800 number which was a nightmare and it finally hung up on me. I then went back to the website and managed to get a service appointment in two weeks (had to wait for a Saturday appointment because I cant afford to take another day off work). I just hope that this time it will actually be someone who can fix the thing and not charge me just to refer me back to Maytag again. I am not happy with the so called Maytag quality or their BS methods for providing service. Caveat Emptor if you are contemplating a Maytag appliance.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen
Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag! On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

Perfect for me. It would be better if I had a space to put it without adjacent walls. Mine sits with the refrigerator door against a wall and I have to pull it out to the door space to open it wide enough to pull out the drawers to take them out for cleaning. Otherwise, it has worked very well for me by myself, for me and my husband when he was alive and for my son and his family and myself, and he has 5 children.

Purchased a Maytag side by side MSB27C2XAM00 in June 2014 to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. After 14 months the fridge stopped keeping things cold in the food compartment and in the freezer. And, the water and ice dispensers stopped working. Called Maytag and they confirmed the fridge was 2 months past the warranty and the best they could do was offer an extended one-year warranty for $325 and set up an appointment. I declined and called a local repair company. They responded promptly and discovered the problem was a bad board. Had to replace the board at a cost of $475 (parts and labor). It was $150 more than the extended warranty but I was already in the hole for $100 service call and I was able to get the fridge repaired on the spot. I had the Kenmore for 20+ years without one repair. Maytag was good for one year and 2 months. Dont know how this company will last with a $2000 product that lasts a year. I can not recommend this product and advise anyone in the market for any appliance to avoid Maytag products.Updated on 11/20/2015: After the board was replaced, the fridge worked but was not keeping either of the side by side compartments cold. They were cool but not cold. Repairman returned. Said it was the compressor which needed to be repaired/replaced. Maytag said the compressor was under a 10 year warranty unlike the other parts of the fridge. Good news, Maytag covered the cost of the part / but bad news that it broke after 14 months of use. However, the service people told me the cost of the compressor was the smallest part of the repair. Labor and service would be costly and Id be better off getting a new fridge with a 5 year warranty contact. After I got over the initial shock of having to toss a 14 month old fridge that cost $1500 and complaining to Maytag, I went to Lowes and found a replacement fridge. This time it was not a Maytag. Moral of the story stay away from Maytag. Dont be fooled by the brand. Avoid them at all costs. And purchase a fridge with a 5yr+ warranty contact!

We purchased a bottom freezer refrigerator from the Home Depot in 2013 and I am sorry to say this refrigerator does not deserve any stars. Immediately after the warranty was up our refrigerator started leaking all over the floor. The drain clogged and freezes up on the bottom under the freezer. When it becomes full, it leaks all over my hardwood floor. I have now become a slave to this refrigerator. Each week I have to open the freezer and get down on my hands and knees to break up the ice, scoop it out, toss it in the sink. I have spread the word and I hope anyone who reads this does as well. Never buy a Maytag product because not only do they make defective products, they wont own up to it and recall it.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # MSF25D2EAS on 10-22-2012 at the Home Depot in Tracy, CA. On 2-2-2014 (15 months) we noticed a puddle on the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, we noticed that the refrigerator was not working. Went over to Home Depot and were given the name and number of the authorized Maytag repair dealer (A and E). The technician arrived on 2-5-2014 and replaced the compressor on-off /overload relay and charged $243.82. On 2-16-2014 (11 days later), the same thing happened again. The technician came on 2-19-2014. This time, it was the compressor at a cost of $800.00 plus the $75.00 service call. One can purchase the compressor online for $300.00 and I am sure that A and E buys it for a lot less. We thought about it and decided not to get it fixed because we did not know what else would go wrong and how long would the second compressor last. We talked to the Appliance Departments assistant manager and were told that Home Depot does not give any kind of consideration and she had worked there for 11 years and had not heard of any problems. She was not telling the truth or she was not aware of the numerous negative customer reviews online. She also informed me that I should have bought a warranty. We have bought quite a few refrigerators in 50 years and they lasted for many years. Home Depot sells inferior products. Maytag must sell these inferior products at discounted prices and of course, some stores are looking for larger profits. I do not trust Home Depot any longer and will not purchase appliances there anymore. It was a very expensive lesson - the price of the refrigerator, loss of food (twice) and the stress it caused. We bought a new refrigerator at Sears and it was not a MAYTAG.

Maytag 18.5 cu ft Bottom Freezer Refrigerator purchased 12/10/12. 1/12/16 the bottom of the freezer had an inch of ice that leaked onto the floor. My plumber chipped away ice and unclogged drains $97.50. 4/19/18) the same $97.50. 5/22/18 an appliance repair business installed a drain kit $148.40. This was his 25th Maytag with the same problem. A whole website has complaints about this problem. I sent a letter to Maytag and they wanted to send out their technician to find out the problem (with a service cost to me). With all these complaints, and a kit to fix it, they already know the problem but refuse to do anything about it. Maytag used to be a reputable company. No more. The customer service said I should have bought an extended warranty. I said a $1400 refrigerator should last longer than 3 years (the first leaking occurrence). I will never buy a Maytag product (nor Whirlpool that makes it).

Purchased new Maytag Refrigerator from Mannys in Western MA. Top freezer, over $900.00. Never has worked correctly. We need to turn the freezer way up to freeze the ice cream and it forms frost all around the freezer with mini icicles hanging! But even worse... no matter what setting you put the refrigerator on it ruins your food by freezing everything. The only safe spot is in the deli drawer. I have thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of food that is destroyed because it froze in the refrigerator.A service man from Mannys came and ordered parts. He came back and said they were the wrong parts. Now he says that the refrigerator has a problem and Maytag is trying to come out with a plan on how to fix it. I talked with Maytag (took 44 minutes to get someone on the phone). The manager in service was rude, said they dont replace food and they would work on fixing it. 2 weeks later... no calls from either place. I called Mannys and they said they should have some news by next week. In the meantime I dont have a refrigerator that works! NEVER BUY A MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR!!! It is still under warranty and I asked for a new refrigerator... both Mannys and Maytag said no way.

I have a warranty on my Maytag refrigerator. My icemaker has been broken for six months. I have had repair people show up frequently to try and fix it. Six months and six icemakers later, it still cant be fixed. Remember, I take off work to meet these repair people who sometimes show and sometimes dont. They elevated it to the manufacturer who was going to come out and look at it on Friday, November 23 between 8 and 12. (This is day after Thanksgiving is my only day off.) He doesnt show up nor does he call. So, I called and he is running behind. I should wait until he gets here. Evidently, he doesnt have a phone. These people are totally disrespectful of other peoples time. I didnt mind waiting for it to be fixed but I do mind people who have no consideration or respect for other peoples time.

I have waited for months and I am told an icemaker is not important and the fridge is still working, so why am I complaining? The part was free but I had to pay for the service. Its still leaking on the floor because the drip pan got fried from having no water in it to evaporate so it melted my drip pan, now it needs more service that I have to pay for. I have no faith that this will fix it. I will never buy Maytag again it feels like cheap plastic. I would love to start a claim against them for taking our money knowing the refrigerator has missing parts. Now Im part of the towel on the floor club group.

I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. My washing machine was noisy from the start. We had recently purchased a new fridge and were told when we questioned its noise thats just the way they are. So we didnt question the noisy washer as we should have. The noise got louder as time went on and at the 18 month mark, it was so bad, we had someone look at it. The washer had never cleaned as well as expected, but again, we were too busy to follow up. The repairman advised that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced! Augh! $450 for parts $300 for labour! I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and was advised they would go good for the parts, I would have to pay labour. Not being terribly impressed, did a bit of research and was told it was worth fixing. As it was technically out of warranty, I was lucky to have them pay for parts. Took 6 weeks to get part. In that time, had questions about delay, etc... at one point was yelled at on the phone by Melissa from Whirlpool as I asked to speak to a supervisor. So fun :( First part comes and it is defective, luckily there was another one in Vancouver, so only an additional 4 day wait. My machine is now fixed. It is extremely quiet and cleans very well. Suffice to say, it was defective from the start. So, Ive gotten to pay an extra $300 over retail to have a working machine! Lucky me! Repairman also advised that he recommends everyone to purchase the additional 5 year warranty as the manufacturers are now only making machines with a 7 year life expectancy and I was VERY lucky in the beginning to get someone to even talk to me after the 1 year mark.

We purchased a new Maytag side-by-side refrigerator back in 2011 and for the last several months it has been leaking water into the bottom of the freezer unit when it goes through the automatic defrost process. The water freezes and after a few of these cycles causing the ice to accumulate and build up, it starts to leak out onto our kitchen floor. About every 10 days we have to open the freezer door, break up the accumulated ice on the bottom of the freezer and remove the ice chunks by hand. What a pain in the neck! Most of the time we can prevent the water from escaping, but not always. This is going to damage our kitchen floor, not to mention its a safety hazard for slip and falls, and/or fire or shock hazards. We have contacted Maytag directly, but nothing will be done as they say its beyond the 12 month standard warranty. They said one option is for us to purchase an extended warranty plan from them for only $359. Really? Are you kidding me?? They dont seem to care about a potential product liability property damage claim/suit, nor an exposure for a potential bodily injury claim. As Ive tried to explain, this is NOT a warranty situation, its a product defect situation and one probably worth a class action lawsuit based on the number of complaints Im aware of. They know its a product defect problem, but choose to ignore it at the expense of numerous innocent consumers. The only resolution seems to be filing your own lawsuit against them for some kind of remedy to this very aggravating situation that occurs every 10 days or so. Maytag used to be very good appliances, ones that were made of high quality materials, and lasted for years without any problems. Thats why I became a Maytag fan in the first place, but ever since they were purchased by Whirlpool Corporation, its not the same old Maytag we used to know and love. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG APPLIANCES - you will regret it!!

3 years ago, we purchased all new Maytag appliances for our home. Within one year, we had issues with the top load refrigerator getting warm and the bottom load freezer getting extremely cold. After calling Maytag and getting horrible customer service (long wait on the phone, no supportive/suggestive advice, rude representative), we were given a phone number for a local Maytag repair man who charged $300 just to walk into the house. He was literally in and then out of our house within 10 minutes. His advice was to unplug and defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours. Thankfully, his suggestion worked, but should have been given to us as a troubleshooter by the representative on the phone with Maytag. We have had to unplug and defrost the refrigerator about every 3 weeks since. It has become very annoying and stressful. There is obviously a defect in the refrigerator that should be replaced by Maytag! I will never buy a Maytag product again.

I want to document my experience with Maytag refrigerator model # 1958XEW1 and serial # K12947360. I purchase this refrigerator several years ago as a result of a recommendation of a general contractor who was doing kitchen remodeling work for me. After doing a brief online research on Maytag I went to Yale Electric a store in Boston to purchase a Maytag refrigerator. Worst mistake I ever made and I will never buy a Maytag product again (sad to say). This refrigerator has been leaking since the day it arrived from the store. Unfortunately for me I didnt notice the fridge leaking until after the warranty had expired (my bad). The leak was such as I could not isolate or say it was the fridge because the water would pool in an area that was away from the frig on my kitchen floor. One day by coincidence I actually saw the fridge leak so then I knew the water on my floor was coming from the fridge. I contacted Maytag who mentioned by that time my warranty had expired, however other people who had purchase this fridge model were experiencing the same problem. Maytag said that this leak problem could be fixed by changing the tubing located in the freezer section of the refrigerator to what they called a duckbill type of tubing. So I had that part sent to me and it was installed in the refrigerator freezer area. As you can imagine because I am writing this negative review that the water leak problem was not corrected and there is still water pooling on my floor from this refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag product again and I wanted to share this experience with other potential buyers of Maytag products.

Like many others Ive read about online, our Maytag fridge model MFI2269VEW5 with bottom mount freezer has ice forming at the bottom of the freezer compartment. The ice then melts and runs onto the kitchen floor. At this point, I am able to prevent this leakage problem by removing the 1/2-inch layer of ice that builds up about once a week. Using a stiff plastic spatula, I am sometimes able to remove the ice in one large sheet but usually it breaks up and has to be removed in pieces. I have seen several videos online showing how this problem can be fixed but as a pensioner with limited income, I am sure the expense of a repairman would be prohibitive. I could likely make the suggested repairs myself but because of a knee replacement, I am not able to kneel for any length of time so that is out of the question. Besides, when we purchased this fridge 3 years ago, we expected it to run trouble free for the rest of our days. This is obviously a design problem and Maytag should be covering the cost for all repairs. However, it is a sad reality that Maytag and their owner, the Whirlpool Corporation is only interested in making a profit to satisfy their stock holders. They apparently only pay lip service to making quality products that last and customer satisfaction seems to be a thing of the past.

The problem now is that the Extended warranty company refuse to repair it now that they know that it was a pre-existing condition that should have been taken care of under the Mfg. warranty. Washer Bravo MVWX655DW0 - Maytag has shipped the wrong part twice, sent me the right part which is faulty and the 4th one arrived today. I have not had a washer since 9-16 October 9, 2017. I am writing to tell you about my experience that Ive had with Maytag over the last 30 days. I have owned several Maytag and Amana appliances in the past; along with owning several currently. Over the years, weve had a wonderful experience owning these appliances however the last 30 days is one that has been unbelievable. On September 18 on a Monday early in the morning I called Maytag service line. I spoke to a young lady who had difficulties finding me in the system and did not know how to make an appointment to have a Maytag repairman come to my house to look at my washer. I did not take down her name as I thought and trusted that the company was acting on my behalf and would take care of me.I spent several minutes explaining to her that I did not live in Indiana that I lived in Iowa and that I would need a repairman who is close to my hometown. She continued to give me phone numbers with area code 407 in Indiana and then kept repeating some type of a ZIP Code 49 something for Indiana. I explained to her four different times that the zip codes in Iowa start with a five and the area code would be a 515 number in the area she was looking at. She finally gave me two phone numbers, one that did not work. I asked for a repairperson out of Jefferson. She told me Cranston Repair and gave me the phone number. She told me to call him. I told her that I would go with the Cranston repair since Jefferson with my hometown and it was close to where I lived.I then asked her if she would make the appointment. She told me she didnt know how to make the appointment and she kept messing up with the system. Not sure if it was her first day or not but that was fine so I said “never mind I will set the appointment up myself. I then asked her to double-check to see if our new Maytag refrigerator that we just purchased was registered. She told me she did not see it but all I needed to do was call back the next day with the model and serial number and anybody I spoke to on the phone could go ahead and get that registered. I thought I had registered online; I only wanted to double-check but she didnt see it so I assumed I did something wrong and then would make the call back the next day.I called Cranston repair and scheduled an appointment with the repairperson for the next day Tuesday, September 19. Repairman came the next day on time, looked at the washer and found that the transmission had gone out. I had purchased the washer just shy of two years ago. The repairman said that he would have to order the part and would let me know how long it would take and would return to fix the washing machine. He called from my house and was told that the part was on backorder until October 5. After the repairman left the house I decided to call Maytag back and express my disappointment in the product as Maytag says they stand behind their products and the fact that it was not even two years old and that a transmission would go out. The individual I spoke to this time, Antcwaniqua? Not sure about spelling, listened to my story. She also told me the part the repairman ordered was not correct.I needed part W1 1132267. She said that was a substitute part for the correct part that I needed which was W11035204. I told her that the part number ending in 204 we were told was on backorder until October 5. She said no, the part may show that in the system for repairmen but Maytag can locate the part in a warehouse, it would be shipped in 3 to 5 days. I told her that he had called a place in Davenport, Iowa. What she would do because of all the issues I was having was she would go ahead and ship the part out to me at no cost in 3 to 5 days.I wasnt sure about that warehouse thing. It didnt sound convincing but at that point I had to go along with it. What was shipped out to me was the substitute part W1 113-2267. At this point she told me that I would have to pay to have the part put in; I agreed to that on I want a new washer or I want my washer repaired within 72 hours at no cost. I have not had a washer for 3 weeks plus. Repairman in coming Friday and I am not confident that the 4th gearcase part that came today will work either.

Its the worst experience I have ever had with any product. I grew up watching the Maytag man as a child and thinking that must be a top of the line product. Boy was I wrong. I went out six years ago when I purchased my new home and purchased for 1,550.00 a brand new refrigerator with side by side, and ice maker on the bottom, silver in color. It looked great, the quality was and is terrible. The freezer stopped freezing a couple of days after the first year was up. The Service department at Maytag is terrible, I called them for assistance and they were anything but helpful rude is a better word. Its been a nightmare! How could they ruin that good, or even great name of that product. Never will I buy a Maytag appliance again. I tell all of my friends as well. Oh yes so far as the leaking is concerned, my floor is damaged as well.

Re: refrigerator model # MBF2258XEB1. The above-referenced refrigerator was purchased in 2011 from Home Depot. We paid over $1,000.00 thinking we were buying a good product. Right now the bottom freezer is working but the refrigerator is not cooling. An appliance repairman cleaned out the defroster part, but that did not resolve the problem. He said it was a compressor/valve gas line problem. I cannot afford to spend hundreds of dollars to have this repaired. Even though the warranty has expired, I believe that Maytag should pay the cost of the repair. This is VERY inconvenient and frustrating.

I also have water building up on bottom of freezer drawer. It turns into ice and if I dont clean it out in time, it leaks onto my hardwood. I am very disappointed that Maytag has not reached out to its customers to resolve. My fridge is only a few years old and its frustrating taking the ice out of the bottom. I dont have the funds to have it fixed. I thought I was buying a reputable Maytag fridge! IF there is any class action suit please let me know.
