At two different times today I was left on hold for thirty minutes each. I was told the compressor only had a year warranty on it, cant do anything about it. I then went online to Maytag web page and it read only on compressor the warranty had ten years. I called them after a very long wait and was told that was just started with the ten year warranty. I have owned many different refrigerators never heard of compressor only lasting 5 years. The serviceman who came out to tell me compressor was bad said the name Maytag used to stand for something but now stands for junk. Worse customer service, worse product.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher on Oct. 12, 2013. The control panel failed in July 2013 and had to be replaced. I was unable to program a wash cycle and the lights would move all around the front. After the first failure, I was told that the control panel would only be covered for 3 months - the original purchase date for the washer, NOT the date of the NEW control panel. I was then talked into an extended service plan. Now, four months later, the control panel has failed again and I am unable to program a normal wash. A repair man is not scheduled to come for another 9 days. As a single homeowner, this product is not used even on a daily basis. I will never purchase another Maytag washer. They do not back their product with appropriate repairs.

We bought our beautiful Maytag refrigerator model MFI2568AES at our local Home Depot approx. 4 to 5 years ago. The refrigerator stopped cooling last week and we had just renewed the warranty for 3 years. The service repair stated that the problem was not covered (internal corrosion) and they could not do anything for us. Is this how long Maytag refrigerators last? Home Depot was also not willing to do anything for us. Were very upset and disappointed and using ice chests for now.

First of all, I had a Maytag for many years and could not have been happier. When it came time to replace, I did not even consider other brands. I have had my dryer for less than a month and the interior already looks dirty. I contacted Home Depot where I purchased it and reported the problem I was having and would like to return this model and purchase a higher end model assuming that it would not have the same problems. Home Depot said all appliances are special orders and can not be returned. I could contact Maytag and have someone come out and look at it for no charge. I contacted Maytag and they told me that they could have someone come out but if they decided it was just cosmetic, there would be nothing that could be done and I would be charged. I said, I am telling you it is cosmetic! Why would I pay someone to tell me that? The guy suggested I take a damp rag to clean it. I said think about all clothes that are being dried are damp!! I will never buy a Maytag again and will not buy any appliances from Home Depot!

It does not matter what mode you select, every single piece of clothing comes out a scrunched up wrinkled mess. I have to wash all clothing in bulky sheets mode because it is the only mode where the clothing actually gets submerged in the water. This washing machine is extremely loud and it is without a doubt, the worst purchase I have ever made. I have never written a review before, but this product is so horrible and frustrating. If I can persuade one person not to purchase one, I feel that I have done a good deed.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher four years ago and it has been serviced six times in those four years. Not just small things, main parts. Control board twice, control panel twice, and cleaning terribly the other two. They replaced the control board once and then would not do anything after that. I just got it replaced four years into this nightmare only because I bought a Sears home warranty plan and they are replacing it. I would never buy a Maytag appliance ever again.

We purchased this Maytag washer. My wife liked it at first, but after a few months she kept complaining the wash stinks, and I can also say that. I complained to my wife about the smell of our wash, especially the wash towels. The wash was turning colors and some we threw away. My wife has been complaining about all this for months and years and said she will never buy another washer like this. Then about two years ago, she was having trouble with codes coming up. We called service, but didnt get any help, so I looked on internet and found the problem with the code. I took the washer apart and cleaned the tube out and the washer worked, but every now and then my wife needs to climb over washer and unplug, let sit, then replug back in and start it to get rid of code. My wife and I are very upset with this washer!

Maytag Bravos XL - I am having the same problem as everyone else with this washer. My clothes do not get clean and they smell. Maytag advertises tumbling, rubbing action to get clothes clean but my washer does neither. The clothes lay in the bottom of the tub and never move except when in the spin cycle. I am going to file a complaint with Maytag and if they do not refund my money am going to file a DTPA claim against them for false, misleading and deceptive advertisement. They will have to pay up to three (3) times the purchase price of the washer. Maybe everyone else should consider the same.

Recently the lid lock light has been blinking with 11 minutes left in the cycle. I thought maybe it was off balance, so I stopped the cycle and rearranged everything. We bought ALL new Maytag appliances for our home when we rebuilt after it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We got the top of the line of every appliance. Our Maytag dryer model MDE2706AYW has broke for the 2nd time and cost to repair this time forces me to replace it. The dryer felts, idler pulley and belt went out several weeks ago. Used it about a week and the drum quit turning. The repair tech said the aluminum pulley for the belt on the motor is broke. The pulley is not serviced/available and you have to buy a new motor assembly. This puts repair price on up there where replacing the dryer is the only option. We are going shopping for a new dryer today. It wont be a Maytag.2 years ago, our Maytag washer broke. The repair tech said the transmission went out and it would cost less to replace the washer than to try and repair the Maytag washer. We bought a new washer, different brand. About 3 years ago, we had to have our Maytag dishwasher control panel replaced and 2 months later the pump housing broke. Repair tech said cost more to repair than new. Replaced with different brand.Shortly out of warranty, our Maytag Microwave broke. Everything worked except it would not heat anything. The repair tech said cost more to fix than new. Replaced with different brand. All we have left is the refrigerator which has had 2 expensive repairs done on it and the stove which has had the control board and several heating elements changed. I will never buy another Maytag product.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer in July 2007. As with any appliance, we always purchase the extended warranty as it usually runs about $100 on appliance. My first experience with problems was in February 2010 when the control panel went out. If I had not purchased the extended warranty, I would have been in trouble. It ran out in July 2008. It was downhill from there. In September 2010, it quit spinning; and the fabric dispenser would not work. I called again in September 2010. The tub was out of balance. In June 2011, the panel control went out again. In November 2011, it would not spin. In June 2012, the panel for control had to be changed out again. In July 2012, now the pump is leaking. And guess what, my extended warranty is up 8/1/2012. I contacted Customer Service, which said unless there was the same problem within 12 months, there was nothing they could do. Well, Im fired up. I intend on making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and anyone else who will listen to me. I paid over $2000 for the washer and dryer, and it should last more than 5 years. This is ridiculous! When Whirlpool bought out Maytag, then the product went to crap! Dont tell me the Maytag repairman does not have anything to do now, because I know I keep him real busy. I am so tired of the companys just blowing you off when you work hard for your money and purchase a product for your family that should last at least 10 years. I am a principled person, and this is not going to go away easy. The repairman is coming next week to fix it again. I am going to give him an earful as well. The last one who came to change out the panel board (3rd time) said they had nothing but problems with this unit. Well maybe they made it that way, so when the warranty runs out, they can charge you an arm and a leg for the part and the labor to repair. I will never buy a Maytag product ever again. My next one will be the new LG washer and dryer. Talk about the lemon law. This product from what I am reading here should very well fall within that category.

I received my Maytag dishwasher in November of 2013 from Home Depot (It was a month overdue the expected delivery date). It was installed by a certified electrician/contractor. By February of 2014, the control panel had to have its first replacement. It is now July 2014 and we are having the repairman come out to replace the third control panel this Monday. Supposedly there was a recall on the control panel and the one replaced less than a month ago was the improved/repaired one. We are beyond frustrated. I too sought Home Depot for help after the first repairman they suggested charged us almost half the cost of the dishwasher for his repair. I have already sunk over the price of the product into repairs. My Maytag dryer broke last week as well. Someone needs to get involved with this situation, perhaps a contact to the media? I think we are all being scammed and deserve refunds by Maytag for the dishwashers and our repair costs.

VERY disappointed in Maytag for not correcting known issue. My dishwasher is only 3.5 years old and there are only 2 adults in our home. I purchased this washer on 5-25-15. It was delivered on 6-2-15. It worked for 11 days. On the 13th, I called Maytag and made an appointment for it to be fixed. They said a technician would be out on the 16th to fix it. I got a call on the 15th saying the part they needed was not released yet so they would be out on the 23rd. The guy comes on the 23rd and diagnoses the problem. He says the machine has a bad motor and shock of all shocks. He doesnt have the part to repair it. They originally assumed it was something else and were wrong. Fantastic. He said he would be back on the 30th. I got a call on the 29th saying that, once again, the part needed to fix it was not released and that they would call me to make another appointment when it was available. I had enough. I originally purchased with Home Depot and called my original salesman. He told me he would replace the washer with any brand I wanted (I paid the difference in cost of course) but I was still relieved that he was willing to work with me. I ended up going with an LG. Lets hope that one works. I have 2 kids and have been having to go to the laundromat. I have to say that I loved the machine for the 11 days it worked! I purchased the Bravos X washer approximately 13 mos ago. Washer was noisy and has deteriorated since installation. I questioned the ability of a non agitator appliance getting close clean but was assured it would. Not the best if clothes are just moving against clothes. The machine had a difficult time in between adjusting to wash balancing a 3x event upon starting. It leaked intermittently during spin cycles and stopped due to unbalanced loads, sometimes refilling and stopping again. Now it wont spin at all, circuit board problems! This is my first and last Maytag. The company will most likely not balance/compensate on the purchase price (like the Bravos X) because it is beyond the 12 mos warranty.

Purchased a Maytag side by side MSB27C2XAM00 in June 2014 to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. After 14 months the fridge stopped keeping things cold in the food compartment and in the freezer. And, the water and ice dispensers stopped working. Called Maytag and they confirmed the fridge was 2 months past the warranty and the best they could do was offer an extended one-year warranty for $325 and set up an appointment. I declined and called a local repair company. They responded promptly and discovered the problem was a bad board. Had to replace the board at a cost of $475 (parts and labor). It was $150 more than the extended warranty but I was already in the hole for $100 service call and I was able to get the fridge repaired on the spot. I had the Kenmore for 20+ years without one repair. Maytag was good for one year and 2 months. Dont know how this company will last with a $2000 product that lasts a year. I can not recommend this product and advise anyone in the market for any appliance to avoid Maytag products.Updated on 11/20/2015: After the board was replaced, the fridge worked but was not keeping either of the side by side compartments cold. They were cool but not cold. Repairman returned. Said it was the compressor which needed to be repaired/replaced. Maytag said the compressor was under a 10 year warranty unlike the other parts of the fridge. Good news, Maytag covered the cost of the part / but bad news that it broke after 14 months of use. However, the service people told me the cost of the compressor was the smallest part of the repair. Labor and service would be costly and Id be better off getting a new fridge with a 5 year warranty contact. After I got over the initial shock of having to toss a 14 month old fridge that cost $1500 and complaining to Maytag, I went to Lowes and found a replacement fridge. This time it was not a Maytag. Moral of the story stay away from Maytag. Dont be fooled by the brand. Avoid them at all costs. And purchase a fridge with a 5yr+ warranty contact!

I bought my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set about 3.5 years ago when I moved into my home. There was a 20-year old set here that did work, but I wanted something newer and more efficient, so I donated the old set and bought these. Performance of the washer has always seemed mediocre, clothes dont get as clean as I think they should, whites are dingy, despite using hard-water additives and the correct HE products.A few months ago, the washer started a new behavior: stopping during the initial fill cycle and displaying an F1 error. I soon figured out if I hit cancel then start again, it would resume filling and proceed with the cycle. Over time, I had to repeat it more and more. Its now up to ten F1 errors both at the beginning and end of the cycle. I dont have that kind of time to babysit my washer. I already have a full-time job.I have called Maytag/Whirlpool twice now, both times getting unsatisfactory answers. Even after escalating to the customer service supervisor, I was basically told that it is most likely the control board that is the problem and since Im no longer under warranty (that washer ‘is’ almost 4 years old, maam), Id either have to order the part myself from their supplier (total cost $250 + the risk of DIY), or buy their service package for about $350 which included fixing that problem plus one additional years warranty.I pointed out that for a major household appliance that I (over) paid for, I expect a life of more than 4 years, especially since I had a working 20-year old washer when I moved in here. Since when is this acceptable? I could understand if it were a wear-and-tear part, like a rubber seal or something that moved constantly and would eventually need replaced. But this is the electronics module, something that cant (or at least, shouldnt) be worn down or broken by use or even user error. This is an integral part of the machine, and if it has a fault (which it clearly does), the manufacturer needs to stand behind it and help the consumer. What angered me even further is that the customer service manager even admitted that models similar to mine had had similar problems, and a free control board was sent to those customers. But my model was not in that range of production, so clearly they have no fault, in their eyes. Apparently, its not even remotely possible that maybe when they determined the range of models they believed to be faulty, mine hadnt been in use long enough to display the same behavior? Maybe the range they selected is too restrictive and they missed some. From the volume of complaints Ive seen online, Id bet that to be the case.I asked to be transferred to their legal department, and was refused because we just dont transfer customers to the legal department. Well, I just dont buy Maytag or Whirlpool anymore, and Im going to do my best to make sure nobody else does either. Im replacing this ** with a different brand, one Ill be sure has tremendous reviews and a manufacturer that will stand behind it.

Bravos x - Ok so I was checking on my washing machine balance which is off. I came across the reviews and find how horrible the machine is! Grinding at last cycle, and not wringing out clothes on some loads. I thought grinding and wringing out was to be that way since it did it from day one. We purchased a new Maytag french door refrigerator and from day one had issues with the ice maker. After three replacements Maytag informed me that this was an inherent issues and no fix available. So we had a $2000+ refrigerator with a non-functioning ice maker. Our 20 year old Frigidaire continues to make ice with no issues. Then the control panel lights started blinking and evidently this is also a known problem and when I called Maytag to buy the part, they said SORRY we dont offer parts on our appliances over 6 years old. This is the worst piece of ** I have ever owned coupled with the lousiest customer service in the world. I will never buy another Maytag.

We bought a brand new Maytag refrigerator online model # MSD2660KES and it arrived dead. The first Maytag tech that was sent said he does not recommend us fixing the problem because refrigerant leaking will happen every few years. We were not able to return the refrigerator, so we opted to let Maytag fix it. Here we are 2 years later and sure enough, the refrigerator has stopped cooling. We are out of warranty period, so the service call cost us $65.00. The tech told us this time its the compressor and replacement would cost $650.00 to fix. We are not wasting any more money on this piece of junk.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher 2011! Use it 2 weeks, digital board went down had it replaced! Now 2013, the board is down as well as the motor!! Can you imagine I use it once a day, at most 2 people in this house, and it completely breaks down! Thank goodness I have a Home Depot warranty. I would strongly advise against this product that I spent over $500 for 2 years ago!! How they could sell this dishwasher is a mystery.

MHW60X - I experienced a problem in May of 2015, and the repairman told me it was the master board, and he has seen this many times. He said that the MCU board goes out after 3.0 - 3.5 years!! This is exactly how old my machine was! The cost to repair this was almost what the machine cost, and this is unacceptable. I have had Maytag washers my entire adult life, and my prior one lasted approximately 20 years, but after this I am not sure I will consider another one in the future. To have a major part burn out soon after the warranty expires should not happen. I contacted customer service to find out the experience and reported problems on this model, but could not obtain any information, other than they have received calls about this model. I asked Maytag to reimburse me for the part - at a minimum, and they refused stating it was out of warranty and they could do nothing. Apparently they do not care about their reputation anymore, which is sad, since they used to be so well regarded!

We bought this Maytag dishwasher two years ago with a two year warranty. We paid close to $700. Six months after we bought it, it started having problems on and off. They are including: leaking water, lights going on and off, cycles are not completed. We changed the console once, and soon after that it broke down again, and this time is out of warranty. Total repair times are: 6 times in two years. My husband call the company, asked them if there is a recall for this model? They told that there is no recall. Then the repair person came. According to his repair experience he said this is the common problem and he got a lot of calls for the same problem. If he told the truth about this, then the company was lying to its consumers!!

We bought a new Maytag Bravo XL washer in 2015 under the understanding it has a 10 year warranty. Well it’s 2020 and it starting leaking. Called customer service and lost 3hours of my life waiting for a person. Keep in mind I’m pretty handy and work on spa, and pools. And can troubleshoot things like this. I found the problem on our washer looked up the part and number. When I finally got a person on the phone they wanted to send a technician out to verify what is wrong with it. I was all for that but then they said it would cost $100. I said no because I already know what’s wrong and just need the part so I could fix it. I knew the labor would not be covered under warranty so that’s why I didn’t really need the tech to come. After a few minutes Maytag finally says the unit is. It covered under warranty at all. I asked yes it is because it’s literally written all over the washer it has a 10year warranty. So then Maytag goes to say they only cover the drum and motor for 10 years. So now I’m stuck with a washer that leaks that was sold to us under the pretense of a 10year warranty for parts. And now having to buy $280 worth of parts and shipping to fix it. Maytag advertises that they have the best warranty and they never break as their commercials imply. So they represent themselves And their warranty falsely. Buyer beware. Maytag is shady. I’m guessing Whirlpool is part of them so please do your research before you buy. 1. Customer service doesn’t exist with them. (3hrs hold times.) 2. Misleading warranty coverage. 3. Will not call you back.4. Try to extort more money from you. ($100 to send a tech out to confirm what you already know.)DO NOT BUY!!! Learn from our mistake.

Got the dryer free when we moved into our townhouse. We had been doing 2-3 loads a day for almost 8 years. The dryer was old when we got it. No complaints. Just wish there was some way to fix it. But mechanic said, No way. Almost a valued member of the family. Say 2 loads a day, 7 days a week, 52 days a year. This is a lot of loads. Remarkable. New machines cant do that today says our mechanic, they are not built to be fixed. Now, when broke, replace, don t fix.

I Hate this machine. It does an inferior job and I wish I never bought it. Our Bravos XL washer was purchased in spring. It left white residue constantly on my clothes. Even WORSE, the machine wrinkled the permanent press so the clothes had to be ironed before wearing. (I rarely had this with my last washer). I used the machine settings correctly and I called the company and basically...was told, Youre out of luck. I hoped that it would improve but No Way! Dont purchase this machine, dont waste your $$$.

I bought a set of 4 Maytag kitchen appliances. Terrible quality. Dishwasher racks poorly designed for anything except standard size dishes. Microwave has a hotspot and explodes whatever Im reheating. But refrigerator is the worst. According to my service man, Maytag is aware of known issue with poor quality evaporator coils that erode quickly, leaking freon. Causes problems with ice buildup in freezer, poor ice production until it loses enough freon to stop chilling correctly causing food spoilage. Im to that point now. This fridge is only good for offshore fishing site. Whirlpool is aware but will stall as long as possible, then refuse replacement, but they will offer to help you replace the appliance. HA! This one of the worst purchases I have ever made! Paid over $850 in March, 2015 for the Maytag Bravos XL. At first, we experienced leaking and now there is a terrible banging and clanging noise! Had an appliance repairman come to see what was going on. Apparently it needs a hub replacement and bearing replacement. Was told by two companies that it is not cost effective to fix it due to the amount of parts and labor.Aside from this major issue, I never felt that the clothes came out clean. Many times, the clothes would come out with detergent all stuck to the clothes and had to be rewashed. The softener and bleach dispensers are not removable and it is nearly impossible to get all the way into the cup in order to clean the mildew that builds up. The fabric softener dispenser always had gummed up chunks.Called Maytag several times to no avail. Was basically told - too bad its out of warranty. I have never heard of a washer giving out after 3 years! The worst part is that I have searched many places on the Internet and apparently the bearing problem seems to be a common issue with this washer. I purposely bought an American made product and am extremely disappointed in not only this product, but the company as a whole. The customer service department is awful. I will NEVER purchase Maytag or Whirlpool ever again. They lost my business for putting a terrible product on the market and refusing to acknowledge flaws. Interesting that this model is now discontinued, but they refuse to acknowledge the problems. Stay away from Maytag and/or Whirlpool!

In the winter of 2007, we remodeled our kitchen and bought all new Maytag appliances. They cost a little more but we felt that we were getting a good quality product. Within months, the handle on the freezer became loose and I had to call for a repairman to tighten it. He told me we should buy the extended warranty because only a trained repairman could fix the handle. That turned out to be untrue thankfully because if it was true, I would have to call for repair at least once a month. The handle is constantly coming loose. A few months later, the microwave would turn on when the door was closed. I called repair as it was still under warranty. After he removed and replaced the door, I was told that we have to be careful when we close the microwave. There was nothing he could do to stop the problem. Approximately three years after we purchased the appliances, we had a problem with the dishwasher. We could only use one function; the others would not work. We were told by the technician that we got water into the door where the controls are and ruined the motherboard. I never heard anything so absurd. I have had a dishwasher in the same place for 25 years with no mishap. The cost of repair was $800. A few months later, we had a problem with the large burner on our cooktop. The outer coils heat up but the inner coils do not. I have yet to call for repair because I do not trust Maytag. Now, our microwave does not work. My husband used it to make popcorn with no problem. A little while later, I tried to heat a cup of coffee and it would not heat. The keypad works, the light comes on in the microwave but the motor does not run. Needless to say, we are very unhappy and will never buy another Maytag appliance. I wish I would have read the reviews before we purchased the appliances. Two of our friends had their kitchens remodeled at the same time we did and they have not had any problems with their appliances. But they didnt buy Maytag. I guess thats why.

Internet stated refrigerators should last a minimum of 13 yrs and up. Mine is less than 5 yrs. old, a Maytag 25 cu. ft. French Door Bottom Mount Ref. with freezer on the bottom (MFF2558VEW). Had to replace upper gasket in less than 1 yr. of purchase and needs another now (not affecting the sealing aspect on doors, more aesthetic on upper door thin flap that tears easily).Drain plug & configuration for drain was a known manufacturers defect, but cost me money to replace as 3 yr. extended warranty expired. Lower gasket had to be replaced in yr. 4 of ownership, bottom of freezer was producing a sheet of ice that needed removal every week. Normal settings is #3 for both top and bottom, worked fine for 4 yrs at this setting.Last month irregular cooling started to occur- top down to 52 degrees and bottom freezer below -20 degrees - ice cream hard as rock, have to defrost each time in microwave. Maytag repairman said could find nothing wrong, but try emptying entire contents and unplug for 24 hrs. I could hear pieces of ice melting and dropping throughout the evening. Next morning towels I had put around frig were saturated with water. Restarted frig after 24 hrs. and was working fine for 5 wks. This week same exact problem returned so I did the same thing only this time I had to go out and buy a small chest freezer as I had a full one in my Maytag and no place to put frozen food. It is nearing 24 hrs. and no water has appeared on the floor nor did I hear any ice melting and dropping - so dont know what to do. Will call repair man again and see what he suggests. As soon as I can afford another $1400 frig (this was on sale for $1,002 after discounts, but I will buy a less expensive one this time) I will purchase another brand with NO French doors and no bottom freezer. I loved my frig the first 3 yrs. under warranty, but now causing me too much physical problems having to empty and restock frig for repairs. I have a Tappan Frigidaire in the garage that is from 1998 - I bought from a neighbor who was moving and it has been working fine for 16 yrs. with no repairs. They dont make them like they used to!

Have owned Maytags (washer and dryers) for 40 years. I bought a Bravos top load washer and matching dryer because we gave our old set to a daughter leaving for college. That was less than four years ago! We bought this because it conserved water and there would only be my husband and myself home. So laundry needs would be minimal. The washer quit draining and starting making a terrible noise several days ago. Immediately called repair service - I knew from the onset this was going to be a big problem because when I told them the model, they responded - uh oh! Two days later service man comes to assess repair and lifts machine up and tells me bad seal has leaked to gear box and ruined it. Soooo for a machine that is less than 4 years old, I will have to pay $280 for part, $79 for service call, $60 for labor and $35 to have them pick it up and redeliver (because the repair is too big to be made in my home). $454 for a machine that gets minimal use!!!! I can add another $100 plus and buy a brand new machine. Why should I have to??? In doing some research, I found out this is a common issue with this model and Maytag has paid for the repair of other washers because it is a common problem. Even the serviceman said that and recommended I get a hold of Maytag. Their response - sorry mam you dont gave an extended warranty. (NOW I HAVE A LEMON!) Guess my next step is to write a letter to Maytag Corporate Office. I will keep going up the ladder until they address this flawed machine problem! One thing is for certain - I will never ever buy another Maytag product of any kind or will I ever recommend it. They are just not reliable. Guess, nowadays they are considered throw away products - keep them a few years and throw them away because its not worth your money and effort to repair them :-(

One month after warranty we had our first issue which cost us $380. Kinda my fault I was told by repair guy... My bra underwire came out during wash and destroyed the part we had to replace. Then a year later during spin cycle it sounds like an airplane taking off for about 10 minutes. Its so loud we cant even hear our TV! So guessing its bearings gone bad now? Which is a very difficult part to replace. And pricey. So guessing a new washer is in our future. We previously owned a Maytag washer and had it for 15 years and it still worked fine, we just wanted to upgrade. Big mistake! I wouldnt wish this washer on my enemies. I think the repair guys sets it to mess up when they do this reset thingy. Lol. Cause within a month of the renewed warranty we purchased was expired is when the 2nd issue began. We purchased our Maytag dishwasher from Nebraska Furniture Mart in February 2013. The touch panel on our Maytag dishwasher quit working in December 2014, several lights would come on or flash or not work at all. The first repairman that we had come out took the panel apart, cleaned it up and put it back together ($100). It started working again but a few days later it started doing the same thing again. So I called the repairman back and he said the touch panel would need to be replaced. He called all over Omaha and no one had the part in stock. He called the Chicago Maytag warehouse and was told by them that they were out of them because there were so many defective dishwashers that they used them all. Now they are trying to find a new manufacturer to make them. It could be months before they get them in. So I contacted Maytag and of course they said that is not true and put me through to a parts company that they said has all the parts available. When I told that company that it was the touch panel, I was told by them that you only replace the touch panel for cosmetic reasons! So we got a second opinion from another Maytag repair company and he spent about 10 minutes looking at the dishwasher and said its a defective touch panel. He said he has replaced a lot of them in Maytag dishwashers. He recommended that I contact Maytag customer service and try to get them to pay for the part. I did call them and of course they refused because it is out of warranty. The supervisor even told me that they have not had any complaints about the touchpad malfunctioning! They do not stand behind their products anymore. I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product ever again. I told them exactly how I felt and their only reply was Im sorry you feel that way. I am surprised they continue to stay in business. I dont understand how major stores can continue to sell their products when they are garbage. Based on the other reviews Ive read, Im not even sure we should fix this for $250.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 9/2006. I was happy with it until 12/10 when it smoked and almost caught fire in the middle of the night! Luckily, I have a GFI circuit breaker and it shut the dishwasher off before it burned my house down. After researching on Google, I found out that my dishwasher had been recalled as a fire hazard, and I was never notified by Maytag. I called Maytag from my house phone and the automated system knew my name and address immediately just by me calling -- so they could have easily notified me but they chose not to.I ended up getting a voucher to purchase a new dishwasher (model: MDB7709AWB2). The one year warranty has literally just expired, and the Start/Resume, and the Cancel/Drain buttons no longer work. The replacement parts from Maytag cost $212.37, and that price does not include the price to get it installed from a service technician -- add on another $100-$200 depending on where you live. This is a known problem, and seems to repeat yearly! Another annoying thing about this dishwasher is the wheels on the racks. They dont glide easily and they constantly get off the track. I hate this dishwasher and I will never purchase another product from Maytag/Whirlpool/Jenn-Air again!

Front load washer is four years old. Approximately two years after owning the washing machine it started burning and ripping our clothes. Maytag sent someone out to repair at no cost. The problem stopped. However, approximately two years later it is happening all over again. Thus, there is either a deficiency in the Maytag product or the repair has failed. Maytag will only repair at our cost. True, the washer is four years old but the same problem keeps happening. Plus, that is not a long time in the life of a washing machine. The customer should not be held responsible for a recurring problem with their product. The front load washer and dryer were very expensive. We will NEVER buy Maytag and we will continue to share our disappointment to whoever will listen. It is shameful that Maytag says they stand by their product but when its put to the test Maytag completely fail. Double thumbs down for Maytag and customer service!!!

Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins. The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

I have read all the complaints. I have similar issues with Maytag Bravos. I’m frustrated that modern tech products stink to high heaven, especially when we refer to clean clothes not being cleaned well. The specific issues I keep getting are the following: the LF codes appear and the cold water does not fill so that it wont rinse or drain. I have replaced the defective washers and that helped for one load. I refuse to fix it. Why throw good money out for the same bad product? I’m looking for a no bells and whistles washer or dryer that works. I have issues with the dryer, too. No more Maytag products in the future. Question: Who truly makes a good reliable product nowadays?

Only 2 months after purchasing the Neptune Washer I required a service call as the washer was not draining. Technician replaced the pump and cleaned the drain filter. 4 months later the same issue happened. 3 months later the computer board was replaced and filter cleaned. Since purchasing this washer I have had to have 5 service calls to have it fixed. I called Maytag and they told me it is my fault the filter is clogged. Although the things in the filter are from my familys laundry the filter is located in the middle of the machine which requires the machine to be torn apart to clean the filter. This is a TERRIBLE design flaw which is NOT covered under the maintenance agreement as the service technician said this problem was caused by us. Maytag was the absolute worse to deal with as I have spoken to two levels of customer support managers and all of them said its my fault.

Because I cannot afford another washing machine I have to bring them to the laundromat. The best we can tell, we got our Maytag in 1991. This was because the repairman told us that was the last year they made parts for it. It ran wonderfully until 2018. The water valve broke, but a repairman easily fixed it. In 2019, it stopped running. The repairman fixed it, temporarily, he said. He refused to charge us for his work because he said we might get a few more loads done before it completely pooped out. Were still using it. I love this machine. It has gone WAY past the expected life span of a washing machine. Weve had it for 29 years!

I wrote the below to Maytag on their FaceBook page, of course havent heard anything back from them. Adding this on since I forgot about it, I have dogs and wash their blankets often, not that theyre dirty just for the dog smell. I have to wash them on the sanitize cycle which is an 1.5 hours long because if I use the normal cycle which is only 43 minutes they come out smelling exactly the same way they went in. I saw someone else post that their mothers front loader doesnt put in enough water so Im wondering if thats what happens to mine. So wish I would have checked the reviews before buying, thought I was getting a great washer buying Maytag. This is what I wrote on their FB page: I bought a Maytag front loading washer on 5/10/16 which was delivered and set up on 5/13/16. On Wednesday 10/19/16 it stopped working, so just over 5 months from the day it was installed. I called your company on 10/20/16 for repairs, they couldnt get here until today, 10/24, so 5 days with no washer. The customer service rep had all the details on what happened and Im sure passed them along to the repair company. He ran diagnostics, said it was the drain pump which was obvious even to me, but claimed to not have one with him even though they were in stock. Cant make it back until Wednesday, so two more days with no washer. He then proceeded to tell me that the dryer had to come off (stacked on top since the washer is a front loader) before he got back, that the warranty wouldnt cover two people coming out. So Im supposed to spend more money to hire someone to come out, take off the dryer and then pay them again to come back and put it back on. I called the customer service department again and was told they dont cover installation which stacking is. She said the warranty doesnt cover stacked units, as far as I can find that isnt stated in the warranty so please let me know where that is stated in writing. So I have a just over 5-month-old washer that needs repair already (bodes well for the future doesnt it??), will be without a washer for almost a week because the repairman didnt bring the most obvious part with him (maybe wanted to be paid for two calls?) and have to pay someone else for installation so it can be fixed. So wheres the Maytag man? I am not a happy customer and will be letting as many people know as possible. Ill be in the market for other new appliances soon, will sure as hell make sure theyre not made by Maytag, Whirlpool et all.

I purchased the Bravos washer and dryer suite. Since I was a small child I had heard my parents and others alike say that Maytag always had superior products as this is the reason when I was fortunate enough to purchase a new set I chose a Maytag brand. We that was the past and the present products et washers /dryers as the worst ever. I have had my set less than 2 years and today had to go out and buy a used one again. I have had nothing but trouble with these 2 and will never buy their brand of anything again. From the amount of poor reviews it appears I am not alone. I tried several times to no avail to have someone from the company contact me as I was put on hold too many times!

In my owners manual, the description to replace the oven light shows a simple process of removing a glass bulb cover within the oven itself and then unscrewing the ordinary looking light bulb. However, Maytag made a design change and now uses a complete unit that combines the bulb, the glass cover and the bulb holder. This requires you to pull the stove out from the wall, open up the back of the oven, bend some retaining tabs around the light unit and then remove the whole unit. The killer is, Maytag has made this disgusting, usurious design change in order to force you to pay over $50 US plus taxes and shipping for the replacement unit, instead of $6 CDN ($4.50 US) for a light bulb that you can buy anywhere and can easily change yourself in a couple of minutes within the oven itself. But now you will probably have to call in a repair guy to make this replacement for you. When manufacturers start doing things like that, its time to stop buying their products. I will certainly never use Maytag again, and Ill make sure any other oven manufacturer Ill consider is not doing anything similar.

We had purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local appliance store in May
We had purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local appliance store in May 2012. The fridge was delivered in June and come August 5, 2013, it does not work. First, the temperature of the refrigerator declined drastically causing us to lose over $500 worth of food. Items that were even unopened had to be thrown down the drain. The first call was made to Maytag customer service. They decided to send a technician. Great. The technician came and informed us that it was the refrigerant. WRONG. The second technician comes and states that the compressor is shot and that is why it is not staying cold. Time to order the compressor that is on back order. Shocking. Another week goes by without a fridge. Cut to the third technician who comes and installs the new compressor. Fridge is cool and at about 32 degrees for probably 4 hours. The food goes back in the fridge and the temperature climbs to 70 within minutes. Strike two. Contact Customer Service and demand answers on what can be done. Speak with the first representative named Melinda. If you get her good luck. She states she doesnt care and hangs up. Call back to speak with another representative who is very sweet and compassionate and tries her best to help. Unfortunately, she was unable to do so. Asked to speak with a supervisor and had the displeasure of speaking with Scott. For all the trouble that we have been going through, time wasted, food thrown away, Scott can offer $100. Yeah, okay, nice try. The more we speak with Scott, he ups the ante to $150 and the final offer of $200. I advised Scott that there is someone higher than him that needs to be involved after he told me that he was the highest I could go. Wrong again. Time goes by and nothing happens. We receive a call from Yvette ** that was missed and call her back in the corporate executive office. We have contacted her and left her 4 voice mails and the response has been nothing. Actually, calling her you get her message that she is not available. This is over the span of a week. Nothing. ANOTHER technician is sent to look at the fridge and what was supposed to be a brand new compressor that was installed and states that the fridge is condemned. Well isnt that lovely?! Of course because the parts are made in Brazil and Maytag is charged $15 for them and they charge the consumer $200. There is no reason why they should work. We got in touch with the appliance store who told us that we need to speak with Maytag to ask for our money back because we are NOT taking the same fridge as a replacement. Now, we are plagued with the appliance store not taking our calls, the corporate executives not taking our calls, and a $1300 stainless steel french door paperweight. With a call in to our attorney and the phone poised to be dialing our local news stations, I am not sure of what the next move for Maytag will be. Im sitting here after 21 days of not having a refrigerator hoping that a call and resolution comes soon. My family will NEVER EVER purchase a Maytag appliance again. I wouldnt even purchase Maytag brand toilet paper because Im sure that it would need to have one function and even that function as easy as it is would not work. People, please save yourself the headache and the money and the time of dealing with Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amana. Their customer service does not care about you, their products are crap, and they will swindle you and leave you high and dry. I hope to have some good news about this issue but I can guarantee that nothing good is going to come of this, well, at least for Maytag. Get on your social media and let people know how TERRIBLE this company is. STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. Sorry Maytag, the buck stops here.

Maytag Bravos Washer 300 Quiet Series Model MVWB700VQ0 - Nothing about it is quiet. Worked pretty well the first year. Spin cycle works too well. It twists and rips. The second year it needed a new pump because a dime got into it and cracked the pump. When you wash anything bulky you better sit and watch it because it will almost certainly go off balance. Year three Sd (suds or slow) code started flashing and washer stopped half way through. Not sure why suds because I only use HE Tide, no perfumes or dyes due to my daughters sensitivity. I use Affresh as directed and on schedule. Was told it was a slow drain, found two dimes in the filter and a lot of lint. Still not working and flashing Sd... stops half way, agitator moves left to right doesnt spin. When the diagnostic was performed, the basket spun but when it stopped it made a grinding noise. Now it might be that it needs new bearings! So much for the Maytag reputation. Its junk and I will not be buying another Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore or any other product from their affiliates. Not purchasing anything from Sears again either. Also I will be canceling my subscription to Consumer Reports because they highly recommended this product. Shame on Maytag. How do we start a class action suit?

I purchased the Bravos Washer and Dryer from an elderly couple who didnt have it more than 6 months. About a year went by and the washer started making a noise when the water extracted and finally flooded my laundry room. I found that a penny had gotten into the plastic housing that extracts the water. This has happened on 2 different occasions. I have replaced the extraction unit 2 times and it now cracked again. Then I started getting F1 error codes and having to restart as much as 6 times so it would start the cycle. This washer has been a royal pain. It is frustrating when you think you are getting a quality product and have nothing but problems. I previously had a Kenmore washer and dryer that lasted me 15 years and was still functioning when we sold the set after buying the Maytag Monster. We only ever replaced the heating element in the dryer once. That was it. I will not consider a Maytag again and possibly not another HE at all. Glad I did not buy them new!

This Maytag Bravos HE machine has the poorest design! It doesnt use enough water on the normal cycle so I always have to use the bulky load just to get the clothes wet. The old washers used to spin the water out thus keeping the load even. This machine drains the water first and then tries to spin an uneven load! When this happens the machine bangs loudly from side to side, stops, refills with more water and starts the whole process again until it fixes its problem or until you go shake out the entire load and reposition everything. Then it uses more water to start the process all over again. It takes twice as long to do a load of laundry.Every time I use it I say I hate this machine! This machine should have never been released without extensive testing. Maytag could have figured out all of their own problems and fixed them so we wouldnt be writing all of these bad reviews. A recall should have been done years ago and the problems all fixed. I will never buy Maytag again!

I too bought the brand name Maytag due to a good reputation that Maytag had. I never received a recall notice or anything from Maytag. I will never buy Maytag products again. I found out from a salesperson at Sears that Maytag was sold to Whirlpool. The salesperson said the reviews are terrible for Maytag products especially for my models. Maytag dishwasher mdb7749awm2 - It appears that everybody who bought one of these dishwashers has run into this issue at one time or another, and it usually takes one full year of use before the control panel goes out on these units, and in most cases, it has to do with moisture getting on the thin strip of wires leading from the control board to the control panel. It usually occurs right where the strip enters the control panel... There is nice little gap for moisture to rest right on the wires, which will eventually lead to corrosion. I included an image of what to look for (see the nice black rust areas on the wires? That was my problem, and probably yours, too). If you have some very, very fine sandpaper, and have patience, then you can get the rust off the wire, but be very, very careful, or you could take the small thin wire off in the process! Ive made this repair myself to my unit, and I did it for one my friends machines (it was a Maytag, and his lasted two years, but had the same problem, too), and both had similar problems and right in the same spot! After removing the corrosion, the system worked great again. However, before hooking the unit up again, I sealed the area with some silicone to hopefully prevent this from happening again. Now, Im not saying that this is the problem that you are having, but its worth investigating, and dont be afraid to pull-off the front panel...its just held on with an adhesive and will go back on with no issues. Anyway, this could save one hundreds of dollars in repair costs. I hope that this helps.

I purchased this Maytag washer/dryer set in February 2017 and I am very, very happy with it. This is a brand that has proven dependable for more than 80+ years. This is a low water washer that saves money on energy bills. I love the extra large capacity and was very concerned how well it would clean without an agitator. But having confidence in the name, which is why I purchased this set, I was very pleased with the cleaning power. The only disadvantage I see is with the soak cycle which is timed. I would like to have an option to soak indefinitely. So if you are trying to remove blood stains, you may have to use the soak cycle a few times before all the blood is removed. (Assuming that you are only using cold water and no additives.)

Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes. I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Codes appear on the face of the washer better. Nowhere in the manual that I had to personally download myself because it didn’t come with one. And oh did I mention that I need a step ladder to reach into the bottom of the tub? This washer should come yellow because it is definitely a lemon!
