Maytag MDBH979SAM1 w/ Steam - I purchased this dishwasher Jan 2014 as a scratch or dent at the Sears Outlet. The dishwasher worked great until 4-5-2015. About 3 months after the warranty ran out I called Sears and asked if there was any extended warranty coverage since I used the Sears card. They said No, but recommended I call MasterCard since my card had the MC emblem. MC says that they do extend the warranty up to 12 months. I just filed a claim and hopefully will get a paid for repair. So, if you used a credit card, you may have a warranty extension like me. Check it out. 2 stars because the dishwater is a great unit except for the control board. What a shame Maytag.

Bought a Maytag Bravo washer, suppose to be the best of its kind from Home Depot. Should of known I was in trouble when it took them over four months to deliver it. It lasted two years before the bearing went on the machine. Whirlpool/Maytag was of no help. Ironically, the machine Im using today is my old Maytag I bought 17 years ago. The repair cost for the new machine was about 50% of the cost of the machine purchase.

I do not know how long we have had the Maytag but, it has been a long time and has run without any problems. Still looks good and does the job! The features of the Maytag are: pots & pans, temperature sense, sani heat, light wash, regular wash, pots & pans prewash, quick wash, rinse & hold, delay start and heat, fan dry, heat or air. This dishwasher has always been plenty big enough for our family of four including guests. This Maytag had a choice of black or white front so, it fits in. My next dishwasher will probably be a Maytag!

I purchased Maytag refrigerator (model # MSD2572VES). The fridge side stopped working. I was told that the vent/chute between the freezer and fridge ices up and prevents the cold air from the freezer to go through the fridge. The tech said that Maytag was sending him a tube of silicone to apply all around freezer and fridge and that this will probably fix the problem. So in other words, because of a design flaw, the refrigerator cannot function without adding silicone (maybe). I believe I purchased a lemon with a design flaw and they want me to accept a permanent band-aid as the solution. Shouldnt I have right to demand another model instead of having to accept a cheap alternative (silicone)? Now, if factory installed parts break off, can you imagine silicone tubed in after the fact where there was no silicone crevasse? I cant imagine it staying on - permanently.

I purchased a Maytag commercial residential washer in late 2018, supposed to have a warranty for at least 5 years. We are in California and I was told that there was only one facility that could come two weeks later. I removed the front panel to have it ready for service tech, who on the first visit kept saying he did not know what the problem was, and left telling me he would order parts. After Christmas, I could not get in touch with service so again called Maytag. Service was supposed to come out on the 30th.After waiting almost 3 hours, he called to tell me he did not have the parts. Also, this repair tech treated me very bad since I removed the front panel which I thought I was being nice. He called me back on the 30th, said someone gave him a part, and came. All he did was remove control panel, lost the start button and told me it worked without checking it at all. He was rushing to another appointment so I tried to start it and it still had the original issue, which was slow agitator and a rubbing/grinding sound. Now, after he did something with control panel it had a clicking sound. I immediately called corporate and was told when he came back, which has now been over a month with no washer, that he would be with a senior technician.January 5th I waited all afternoon and he called and said he was not coming and that my whole washer would have to be rebuilt. He never replaced the parts on previous invoices I received, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Now they are completely lying. Technician trying to say I had the control panel apart which is not true, and does not match up with the invoices I received. They are telling me my warranty is voided! Its been a month and a half. I was treated rudely from the beginning and now I am obviously being retaliated against. I have 3 kids, two with severe medical problems and have put so many hours into calling with all these issues.I had another service place come out and he removed the agitator and the transmission shaft/drive motor is rusted out, as well as the parts he said he replaced are worn and definitely not new. For this company to come back after all this time and say I did this, when I have the original invoice that clearly states otherwise is absolutely the worst service ever.I bought this machine thinking it would last, and now have to deal with all this. I have nerve damage and it is very difficult to take all the laundry for a family of 5 to do at laundromat. They refused to send someone else out, where they could easily have seen this repair tech never did what he said, and was unable to diagnose and fix the issue. Its appalling to me that this is how they treat customers. Laura ** at corporate is the one saying warranty is voided. The machine looks brand new as it has always been taken care of. They should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently, this is the standard a lot of times with people trying to get things serviced under a Manufacturer warranty!

I have had the set of Maytag Bravos for about 5 years now. In the 3rd year, the bearings went out. Just recently, leaking water pump. This washer easily eats clothing. I have to disassemble every so often just to get the missing socks etc. out. The only good thing, Maytag should be ashamed I know this, is that the machine is easy to fix. I imagine since they made it so cheaply. Really nothing to the machine.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology washer in September 2010 which is less than two years ago. It decides to stop spinning correctly in the Spin cycles. Clothes come out sopping wet so I contacted Maytag to have a tech come out. On the day that the tech came out from A&E Factory Service, he stated it was a switch. He changed the switch and still, it did not spin correctly. He then proceeds to state that it is another part, which again, it did not do the function correctly. He then proceeded to state that it is the clutch, then the transmission. The cost was raising to $519.00.I stated that I did not want to proceed because I would be purchasing a new washer with that quote. I stated to place all the original parts back onto the washer. He did so, but did not place them on correctly. The casing of the washer no longer is secured to the drum - bolts and plastic pieces are still on the side. He left my house with finger prints of grease on the walls. If this is the workmanship that Maytag recommends, then my business deserves to go elsewhere.A complaint was filed with the A&E Factory Service. However, no one has contacted me about the complaint as was requested. All I want is for my washer to be fixed or to have a tech who is knowledgeable to come out and fix it. I contacted Maytag to inform then of the situation and they stated that all their techs are certified. I do not believe that my washer of less than two years old could possibly have so many parts that are faulty. I hope that this may, in turn, help another consumer to avoid purchasing washers through Maytag and their parent company, Whirlpool.

Washer was purchased at Lowes under direction from staff... Great washer, environmentally better, less water consumption... Well washer is piece of crap. Activator is out, door stays locked, have to unplug to release every time used, water does not drain and cycles do not function or start. Lowes no longer carries product and all other review on spot as to cost to repair... Piece of crap, loss of $600.00+. Could be used as target practice, best case scenario.

For families where people work in gardens, work on vehicles and get just plain dirty doing things anywhere outdoors these agitator-less machines are not for you or me. Ive had mine for two years and I truly dislike it (Model MVWC425BW1). With different products I scrub dirt and grease stains on pants before they are put into the washer, scrub again when they come out of the wash and then scrub and wash again a few more times but I cannot get all the dirt out. I now work more on laundry and harder since I got this machine. This agitator-less machine is designed for people who dont get really dirty - just remove everyday perspiration and household grime. I think this machine was designed by engineers who have never done daily laundry for any length of time and theoretically thought it would clean really dirty clothes. They were really wrong! Having done laundry for 50 years, I now know that an agitator cleans better. It would be nice if other women and I, who have done laundry for years, could be on focus groups about developing new washing machines.

Discovered that thousands of others are having problems with the control panel on their dishwasher. Mine is Model # MDB7749SBM2. Looks as if I should just junk this horrible product and buy a new one (another brand, of course). My biggest concern is that I purchased other Maytag products along with this dishwasher, ie, a refrigerator-freezer, a built-in stove top/oven and a microwave. I have had a service call on the fridge (water line), the oven (gas) will indicate a set temperature (400 degrees for example) sometimes it will only be abt 200 degrees via a portable thermometer... Sometimes it doesnt ignite at all (have to reset it 3 or 4 times, the microwave has issues with the digital readouts, and on and on and on.I have only had these appliances about two years (after warranty expired) when each unit started exhibiting problems. I paid $175 for the fridge repair and am now considering biting the bullet & replacing everything as MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL apparently isnt going to take responsibility for any defect on ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS! Im 75 years of age, retired and cannot afford the replacement route but it looks like I dont have a choice unless someone has a better suggestion. I dont have the skills or energy to attempt the repairs myself.

My model has 2 ovens which I love. A smaller one & a regular sized one. It also has a cooktop. The cooktop always has “marks” on it from the pots & pans. No matter how careful we are, the pots leave marks. We even bought new pots & they leave marks. Something that we do like is that 2 of the burners have “select a size” so these burners can be used for small or larger pots.

I purchased a new washer and dryer from Lowes a few months ago. I had my former washer and dryer for nearly 20 years and although the dryer started to have some issues, the washer worked wonderfully. To have a matching set, I decided to purchase both a new washer and dryer. I was told the Maytag Bravos XL model was the top of the line and could handle large loads. After just a few washes I realized this machine does not add enough water to get the top clothes wet and there is no agitator to pull the clothes into the water. I returned to Lowes and was told to use the deep water wash. I tried that and still had clothes coming out from the wash still dry and dirty. Unfortunately Lowes would not take the machines back and I was told to call Maytag. Maytag said there was nothing they could do except send out a technician for a service fee of $98 to help me determine if the machine is functioning correctly. I could not dislike a washer and dryer more! The dryer catches clothes on one of the screws inside and pulls fabric pieces out. This is in my opinion the worst washer dryer set I could imagine having. I will share my experience with as many people as I can to help others avoid making the costly mistake of purchasing a Maytag product. Maytag does not seem to care they have designed and sold a dysfunctional product!

We bought the Maytag set of dryer and washer just over 5 years ago with ex. war. The dryer now doesnt heat up but the drum does turn. To fix it would cost about $500 maybe more and the parts may only last a few months. I believe that dryer should last longer when only used about once a week. I am now looking at Speed Queen. Cost more but am told they last longer.

I made the mistake of buying a Maytag 2 years ago, this machine would not wash clothes even when using the deep water wash. I should have looked at it closer, it is so full of modern computer garbage that I was having to wash clothes twice so the water saving was negative. I own a business across from a major shopping center so what we did was we loaded it up in one of our trucks and parked it in front of our business with a giant sign and invited people to take a look before buying one. In 6 months we must have had at least a 1000 people inquire.

This review is for a Maytag dishwasher. I do not know the Make/Model. It did a very poor job of washing the dishes. It may have been the city water, but no matter what I put into the machine to keep the dishes from being cloudy it never worked. It became disabled about a year after we moved in, and it was only about 6 years old. However, there were two families before me that used it and I have no idea how they used it. It was the first and last Maytag dishwasher I will ever use.

We bought our washer/dryer from Home Depot and felt Maytag was a good bet. Guess again. Washer is running fine for now but after light use (about 3 loads per week) dryer failed. With no warning, I heard a loud pop about 3 min into a cycle and overheating. If I hadnt been home might have caught on fire. Good for us we live close to a coin laundry so in no rush to replace but can bet when I do it wont be Maytag and thats too bad. One of the few makers still building in the USA but thinking Samsung is looking good. This is the Maytag 2000 series btw.

Our 26 month old Maytag fridge (Model MFF2258VEM8) was the french door freezer on bottom modern style fridge. The freezer stopped working. The repair shop took the fridge away and repaired a leak (quality control issue) and then the compressor failed in a test. They wanted $700 to make a repair that would have a 90 day warranty about 1/2 the cost of the fridge. Maytag was contacted at multiple levels and they would not even provide a free compressor or provide a substantial discount on a new fridge. What a way to treat a customer who once had all major Maytag appliances in our home. We decided to get a GE Profile fridge and are very happy with it. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. I dont think it is the great company it once was years ago.

I purchased our Maytag dishwasher last November. Last week, the control panel went out. I called customer service and they were actually polite and helpful, except for the fact that I had to wait an entire week to have a technician come to my house. Being that I live in the Balt/DC Metro area, I would have thought they would have enough people in the area to come over faster. Anyhow, we finally had the technician come today and tell us that the control panel needs replaced and that he highly recommends an extended warranty, which costs $200 for 5 years. He let my husband know that the repair itself would cost $500 if not covered by warranty!!! What a ripoff! I purchased this dishwasher because I grew up believing in the Maytag brand. Sounds like this is an extremely common issue and if Maytag wants to make things right, they should discontinue sale of their crap product and provide those of us who are stuck with it, a complimentary 5 year warranty. I shouldnt have to pay $200 in extended warranty to make up for the fact that my control panel is likely to go out again in another year, when Ill be forced to buy a new dishwasher.

My washer is 3 years old, it sounds as though an earthquake is rocking my laundry room during the addition of water, rinse, and spin cycles. Cleanliness only when washed twice, along with the washer stopping at 12 minutes because of UL signal (unbalanced) - this happens even when I have a small load. The dryer does dry clothes however along with tons of Lint stuck to my clothes. I empty the lint screen after EVERY dry cycle. If you are looking for the Maytag repairman he will be at my house Tues fixing my barely 1 yrs old dishwasher. The control panel of our Maytag dishwasher stopped working when it was approximately 14 months old. We repaired it ourselves by following a reset directions we found online (push rinse button 5 times and then the cancel button twice). Also we cut the power to reset. Im not sure which of those two tasks reset it, but it worked until last week - now 28 months old. We are not able to reset the panel using any information that we can find. In trying to find repair options, we discover that there are a lot of complaints about the Maytag dishwashers control panels not working within just a couple of years. In speaking with Maytag, they tell me theres a class action law suit for this problem - meaning they do realize there is an obvious problem with their control panels, but are not acknowledging they have any responsibility to repair it. The law suit only covers the cost of the part but not the labor. The labor can cost between $100 - at the lowest - and up. Our Maytag dishwasher model # is MDB8949SAM1. Also noteworthy, our Maytag clothes washer gave out at less than 5 years. Maytag is no longer the company we all thought they were. Additionally, their faulty machines are costing their customers a lot of extra money. Not exactly what I would call a company with good customer service or even any ethics. We will never buy Maytag again.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749AWB2 in Dec. 2011 from Home Depot after a major flood destroyed my entire first floor of my house. I had replaced a previous dishwasher only a short time before the flood. This dishwasher is JUNK. I was lucky I bought a five year extended warranty on it which actually gave me 6 years. I needed it. Within a year the control panel went. Then water started spraying out the side of door. Then it sounded like it was crushing ice every time I ran it. Then the control panel went out again. Ice noise came back again. Control panel a 3rd time. It runs for hours as it is.Now the warranty is expired and last time I ran it the start light was blinking a few hours later. We were having high winds on and off so I thought maybe the power went on and off and that’s why it was blinking. Today I turned it on and after about 45 minutes I realized I didn’t hear it running anymore so I got up and looked and sure enough it wasn’t on. Normally the clean light is lit when done. I opened the dishwasher to see it filled with water still. I tried to hit cancel/drain but nothing works yet again. Wonderful news for a single mom that can’t afford to fix this over and over! Maytag is the worse company. Their dishwashers are horrible and they should be doing something about this as I’m not the only one that has had this issue. Home Depot was just as useless. Will NEVER buy again.

We purchased the Bravos X washing machine on Feb. 9, 2012. I had a Maytag for 30 years before this one and did not have any problems. My model # is MVWX700X. I have given it sufficient time to get used to it. I have tried all cycles for my whites and am not satisfied. I use Clorox in the receptacle and I have only used Tide HE. I spot treat all of our underwear, which is changed every day, and it always comes out unacceptable. I am so disappointed since I was so fond of my old one and only thought I wanted another Maytag. At this point, I would never recommend this machine.

The bearings and motor went out in less than 3 years. The warranty good - the dealer I purchased from Siano Appliance gave me credit to purchase another Maytag washer - which I had to purchase an additional warranty for $320. The new Maytag is less than 5 months old - the motor has been replaced and waiting on a tech now to fix it. It would not come on. SO in warranties I have paid over $640 and am still having issues with the new washer. The first time I purchased a warranty for 10 year - when the machine was replaced I had to purchase another warranty for that machine - now if I have to replaced this one that will be an additional $320. IS this legal?

Mine is a Maytag wall oven and I purchased it because I had a Maytag Range in the house before this and loved it. It is a very accurate oven. I would rate its accuracy with the Thermador wall oven which is one of the most expensive ovens. It heats quickly and stays within the range of temperature you are using. Everything comes out just right. I like going to a Maytag dealer who knows a particular brand or brands not a large dealer of many brands. Always do some homework since brands can change over time with who owns them and who is manufacturing them.

We have had our Maytag dishwasher for more than two years. Heres how it stacks up: Energy Star rated-Yes; Noise-Almost inaudible except when water runs; Length of Cycles-long except for quick wash 59 minutes; Interior design and loading - 10 out of 10. This is the easiest dishwasher to load and it holds an enormous amount of dishes of all sizes and shapes. Adjustable and removable racks-Yes both. Everything fits including my barbecue and oven racks! Amazing. Stainless interior-Yes including silverware rack. Cleaning- 10 out of 10. Even on a quick wash (59 min) cycle this dishwasher cleans everything! I run a longer cycle just to sanitize if we have sickness in the house. Otherwise it is 59 minutes to finish. Drying-Like most dishwashers this one is only so-so in the drying department, especially on the short cycle. Without plastic containers or utensils the machine dries more completely. However, the amount of moisture remaining after a quick or regular cycle is minimal. The water tends to pool on bottoms of glasses and plastics mostly. Easy to dry by laying a cloth across top rack. Dries in just a few minutes. My only suggestion to Maytag is to work on drying technology to make the machines more efficient and effective. However, that being said, I wouldnt trade this machine for any other. It has every feature I love and a 10-year warranty on parts as well! My machine cost around $600.00. It was neither the top nor the bottom of the line.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

Bought a 4-year extended warranty when I purchased and two weeks after warranty expired, my heating element went out on the dryer. This repair cost over 300 bucks. Six months later the washer was making some crazy noise and service guy could not find the cause...another $120 bucks. A few months later the same noise...this time a coin had slid under the bottom plate and caused damage to the machine...another service charge of over $200 bucks plus I purchased an extended one year warranty at $189 bucks. Thank goodness, because now it is throwing an LD code and will not drain. Oh and I forgot about the service call for the latch breaking on the dryer door...another $119 bucks. The repair guy felt sorry for me and didnt charge me for the part. Tangled clothes when washed and forever to dry. Next time I will buy an inexpensive set like I had before that lasted 16 years with no problems! This stuff is junk!

I have had this refrigerator for a few years and never have had a problem. It keeps food uniformly cold, and is frost free. While appearance is attractive, it doesnt look like a $3,000 refrigerator. However, black pebbled-surface exterior is easy to clean and scratch-resistant. Plastic and glass interior fittings also have held up very well. I originally thought it would be too small because I was buying it to fit a certain space in the kitchen. But it has turned out to be just the right size because there is no wasted space inside. I bought this at Home Depot on sale for about $400.00 and it has turned out to be an excellent buy. Delivery was on time, efficient, and people were polite and helpful. Refrigerator was ready to be used about 15 minutes after delivery arrived. I have found Maytag appliances to be extremely reliable and made to last. They have never disappointed me. I will continue to buy them. I highly recommend it.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher 2011! Use it 2 weeks, digital board went down had it replaced! Now 2013, the board is down as well as the motor!! Can you imagine I use it once a day, at most 2 people in this house, and it completely breaks down! Thank goodness I have a Home Depot warranty. I would strongly advise against this product that I spent over $500 for 2 years ago!! How they could sell this dishwasher is a mystery.

In my owners manual, the description to replace the oven light shows a simple process of removing a glass bulb cover within the oven itself and then unscrewing the ordinary looking light bulb. However, Maytag made a design change and now uses a complete unit that combines the bulb, the glass cover and the bulb holder. This requires you to pull the stove out from the wall, open up the back of the oven, bend some retaining tabs around the light unit and then remove the whole unit. The killer is, Maytag has made this disgusting, usurious design change in order to force you to pay over $50 US plus taxes and shipping for the replacement unit, instead of $6 CDN ($4.50 US) for a light bulb that you can buy anywhere and can easily change yourself in a couple of minutes within the oven itself. But now you will probably have to call in a repair guy to make this replacement for you. When manufacturers start doing things like that, its time to stop buying their products. I will certainly never use Maytag again, and Ill make sure any other oven manufacturer Ill consider is not doing anything similar.

Having issues with my mothers refrigerator, simple enough huh? She had misplaced my owners manual. NOW you buy the fridge, but like everything else, once they get your money youre basically on your own! I call to have a owners manual sent to her, she doesnt interact with the internet. I mean, there are still your older ones that doesnt even get on a computer. BUT I was told I couldnt get one! But when I bought it, I had one. Instead, I think its ridiculous how once, like any other major company, they get your money, and threw to the wind after that, something as simply as getting an owners manual for my fridge!!!! Last time I do business with MAYTAG!!!

This dishwasher has an electronic control panel that is faulty. Within one year of purchase, the control panel shorted out. It was replaced under warranty. Almost exactly a year after that, the same part failed for the same reason. This time, Maytag refused to replace it for free since it was out of warranty. A new control panel would have cost over $250. Disappointed with this Maytag product and their refusal to replace an obviously defective part, I decided to buy a new dishwasher from another manufacturer. Also, it did not make sense to me to spend that kind of money to replace a part that would continue breaking every year. AVOID Maytag dishwashers with electronic control panels!

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher Model # MDB4949SDE1 from Home Depot April 30th 2015. This dishwasher does not clean the dishes no matter what cycle you use. After 4 hours and 29 minutes I open the dishwasher to find residue on my so-called clean dishes. Every time I use it I have to re-wash or rinse the dishes by hand before I can put them away.I have spoken with Maytag on several occasions concerning this matter. I have used every detergent on the market. Maytag says you have to use jetdry, and liquid detergent which I did and it made no difference. The latest suggestion was that the water from my water heater was not hot enough which is set on 140 degrees. The customer service rep. ask me how far the water heater is from the dishwasher and I replied approximately 14 foot. She suggested I turn the faucet to my sink on before I turn the dishwasher on so that the hot water is present as soon as I turn it on. This also did not work. They sent a kid out today that turn the dishwasher on for five minutes empty and said well everything seems to be working properly. I dont know what to tell you, yet there is soap residue in the bottom of the dishwasher right now. Do not purchase this dishwasher. It does not clean the dishes. It just uses power and water.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL MVWB725W washing machine and dryer pair in August of 2015. 2 months after I bought the pair the thermostat went out on the dryer. It was under warranty so it was fixed and no problems after that. In July of 2016 I have my first stainless steel hose break at the fitting because of corrosion flooding my laundry room. I thought it was a fluke so I put another one. The next hose started to corrode in September 2016. We thought there was some weird chemical reaction going on between the hose and the filter on the back of the machine. So we changed to rubber hoses in September. Since then we have gone through 6 sets of rubber hoses. We have had the water company out, they say our water is fine. A plumber out, our new water heater is fine as is our plumbing. An electrician, who changed an outlet and put a grounding wire on our house water line. And an appliance repair man, he found the problem so he called Whirlpool who makes Maytag. There is corrosion on the water temp control. However nobody has EVER seen this problem and doesnt know how to fix it. Not even Whirlpool. And Whirlpool says its my house. Im at a dead end with a washer that is constantly going through hoses. It really doesnt wash clothes very well either unless you put a lot of stain remover on the clothing before and wash it in hot water. And yes it is noisy. Dont buy this product.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos 5 months ago. I had trouble at first with unbalanced loads. The repair man came to look at it twice. One thing that can unbalance your loads is if small pieces of laundry such as a sock gets outside the basket. Sometimes the basket has to be taken all the way out because small pieces can be lodged under the basket. This happens when you fill the machine too full and those small pieces float to the top.The suspension on my machine ended up needing to be replaced. I have read lots of reviews about soap rings in the clothes. That happens from using too much soap. Make sure you are using HE detergent for one. I cut way back on my soap and my laundry gets clean and no problems with residual soap on my clothes. I was very unhappy with my machine at first but now I absolutely love it!

First, the machine is a wrinkle monster no matter what I try. I wash my clothes on delicate cycle to keep the colors longer and so my clothes last longer. This has never been a problem with previous washers. I take them out IMMEDIATELY as soon as the door unlocks and shake them out and hang everything to dry. This worked great previously and I never had to iron anything or put anything in the dryer to get wrinkles out. Now, this washer wrinkles my clothing to an unbelievable extent so that they need to be ironed or a round in the dryer to relax them. This is true on Wrinkle Guard and using the delicate setting, set between medium and none on the spin cycle. Wrinkle Guard? I don’t think so. This thing wrinkles my No Iron shirts so they will have to be ironed or steamed. The washer leaves lint like residue most all of the time on dark clothing from day one. I most recently did a load of black only clothes that I did on delicate, soil level between med to extra heavy, spin speed between med and none, and, because of the dirty clothes issue, I had the extra rinse on. The clothes came out dirtier looking than they went in and looked like I washed them with a box of tissues and too much soap. They looked dirtier than before I washed them and had a whitish and lint like residue on everything. So I ran them through the same cycle/extra rinse again but WITHOUT any soap. Unfortunately I didn’t watch to see how much water the machine sensed that these loads needed and I didn’t see how much water was there - but I did for other loads after - see the next problem below. After the second identical cycle, the clothes had the same residue which I photographed and have enclosed below. (And still a wrinkled mess.)We have found that the water sensor can’t sense the proper water level needed and is likely not functional. Sometimes it seems like it might almost be be appropriate and sometimes not at all. Specifically, after I ran the black load through, I decided to try a small red load before my usual large blue load just to see how much water there was. Same settings as above, 6 small items that barely covered the bottom of the drum and the washer sensed a medium load. Certainly by volume of clothing this was not a medium sized load and if it goes by weight, it was the smallest load possible! Medium water level… These clothes seemed to agitate ok because they were completely submerged in water and came out clean. Then I did the much larger blue load that filled the drummer then halfway. This had so many more items than the red load and weighed way more. I tried the same settings as above and this time the machine sensed a SMALL load and the water level was barely halfway up the clothes, if even that much. So half of the clothes were out of the water and we watched and witnessed that the clothes did not agitate properly. This load came out like the black load so I ran the whole cycle again including the double rinse. This time, the same load was sensed to be a MEDIUM load although NOTHING changed except that the clothes were damp and lower in the tub as they were compressed from having gone through the entire wash cycle. They came out mostly clean, after the second wash, again, likely because this time they were almost covered by the water (2/3rds or so) and could move around a little better but still not great agitation. There almost never seems to be quite enough water so that the clothes are not able to move by the agitator and sometimes we watch and can see that the clothes above the waters never get pulled into the water. I understand that this machine may not completely cover the clothes but this seems way short on water and the fact that things usually come out dirty means something is wrong. There is often so little water that the agitator can’t possibly work the clothes into the water. So, next I ran an Oxi cycle and witnessed that about half of the items were not in any water and were only wet because of the filling cycle not because they were moved around by the agitator. How can the oxi do its job if the clothes aren’t in the solution of at least wet from the solution which I didn’t see as likely as the clothes didn’t seem to move through much if at all?Along with the same water sensing problem, why on earth isn’t there a manual water adjustment? If the water sensor doesn’t work, the other option is only the high fill setting. After finding my clothes still dirty when we first got it, I tried the high fill setting to see if this would help but the clothes still came out with that residue. This was the very first few loads I ran and was assuming it was just user error so I studied the manual and tried everything as recommended. Since reading that residue can result from too much water, I use the recommended sensing feature now. So, we can either have too much water or barely any at all…

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator in November 2016. It is now the first week of June 2017 and the ice dispenser no longer works and the door alarm goes off incessantly and intermittently all day and all night. I am so sick of being woken up by the alarm in the middle of the night. I reread the manual and ran through the limited troubleshooting to no avail. I called customer service, sat on hold for a half hour, and scheduled a service call. As an interim stopgap for the pull-my-hair-out alarm issue, the operator suggested I disconnect some wires, as there is no off button for the door alarm. I wasnt dumb enough to do that and void my warranty. Best part of the call was when the operator offered to sell me an extended warranty. Well see how the service appointment goes, but I have a feeling this is the last Maytag product I will ever get. I am very curious about the lack of product recall as my research unveiled hundreds of complaints about the exact same issues I am having. Why does it seem to take a class action lawsuit before a company fulfills the promises in their advertising? Model number: MFI2570FEZ01 Purchased from Home Depot in Nov 2016 for $1,230.

Ive read a few reviews and would have to agree. This is the worse washer I have ever purchased. I agree clothes go in dirty and come out dirty. I have to hand wash clothes to get them clean and wont even mention how long it takes a white t shirt to start looking like it was placed in mud vs being placed in a washer. Called Maytag and they said I was loading it wrong even though I was loading it as suggested by the manual. Then they suggested it needed service. I think not after reading these reviews. The irony is that I had called for service on a front loader due to prolonged washing cycles, the repairman was as useful as this MayTag washer. Come to find out I replaced a perfectly functioning washer, intake screen on cold water needed to be cleaned, for this piece of useless metal. I guess since reading that Maytag doesnt value its customers by offering some type of consideration I will replace this piece of crap. Please dont buy the Bravo series. Since, it seems that this washer was never tested nor perfected but just put on the market to sell to us, the consumers, the company does not care that this washer breaks down constantly. First the pump had to be replaced, then the tub was replaced. These were nothing compared to coins falling through to get caught in the pump and cause the washer not to drain. When I bought my washer, I also purchased an extended warranty not knowing that if the washer were to breakdown to many times, Maytag would refuse to repair under the service plan that I purchased because now they are telling me that by letting the coins fall through is abuse of the washer. Received new washer & dryer on Oct 2nd, 2015. The dryer has been acceptable, but the washer has been one problem after another. First of all the washer is so noisy beyond belief. The engineering is one dreadful design. At first attempted use, washer would not begin cycle. Sensor would say lock, unlock, lock, unlock for so long, I would cancel & begin again. It became such an annoyance that I placed start of cycle on a timer (it sat at sensor mode for 20 min.) then I restarted next time sat for 15 minutes without starting. After beginning from start position it would start OR NOT. First repairmen told me timer might be off a bit. As days passed with same issue, second repairmen arrived and found that door was off (not completely closing). Repairmen would place an order for new seal. Upon repairmen arriving for third time (new seal did not solve issue) he believes that lid is uneven, & he will order a new lid & return in a few days to repair. I must admit that service has been quick, but the issue is still a headache. I would NEVER recommend this model to anyone and would like for Maytag to replace washer with a different model. The noise is a factor that no one should have to endure. The grinding noise can be heard from three rooms away from laundry area with laundry room door closed! Im absolutely a very very unhappy customer.

I bought a Maytag front load washing machine. We paid $1,100 for this machine. About a month ago, it was making a loud noise. I called them and they said were going to come out and fix it. However, our washing machine did not have a serial number. It had the model number/purchase date, etc, but no serial number. Our drier had it, but not our washing machine. All Appliances stated they could not help us until we had a serial number. We spent around 3 hours on the phone with Maytag, trying to get a serial number. Melinda informed us that we were out of luck, and that there was nothing they could do for us. She stated to call Nebraska Furniture Mart, to get the serial number. We did. NFM does not keep serial numbers. They keep model numbers, and purchase dates, but not the serial number. I called Maytag back, and spoke with Arthur. Within 10 minutes, he gave me a serial number to use. Interesting. In the meantime, I have been without a washing machine for 2 days. I have a load of wash in the machine, because now the wash machine has gotten so bad it is shorting the breaker, and not allowing electricity to the machine. This caused the front door to lock and shut down. Inside the washing machine is a load of clothes. All Appliances now has the serial number to order the parts. The parts were supposed to be here yesterday, Jan. 9th. Surprise, they are on back order until Jan. 13th. I called Maytag to see what they could do regarding me without a washing machine for over 5 days, which could turn into 2 weeks. They simply replied that it takes time to order parts, and there is nothing they can do and apologized. I asked what about me having to go to a laundromat and sit for hours, doing laundry. What about sending me out a loaner, to do laundry until you can get the parts. They again replied; there is nothing they can do.I also stated I spent $1,100 for this front load top of the line, Maytag washing machine, because of its name, and supposedly good quality. They again said there was nothing they could do. They did tell me that the washing tub, the part that we needed, was on back order until January 28th. This puts me at about a month without a washing machine. They stated they would try and locate the part, and have it sent out to my house, not the appliance company that is supposed to fix it, but my house, so that once I did receive it, I could call All Appliances, and set up the time/fixing of the machine. This has been pure hell! Maytag is a joke. I paid a good price for a supposedly good company/machine. They are doing nothing to expedite the parts. They are doing nothing to back their products. They are not even offering compensation for my inconvenience of having to go to a laundromat, or being without a washing machine for over a week, and potentially up to a month.I have been without a washing machine for over a week. I have had a load of laundry locked in the washing machine. I have had to drive to a laundromat to do laundry, which includes time and mileage. I have been informed that the parts are on back order, and now could be up to a month without a washing machine. Maytag is not offering any compensation, no loaner machine, no replacement. Instead, they are just saying, sorry, you have to wait for the parts. I would really like the VPs. and Presidents of Maytag to go without a washing machine for a week, or their families to go without a washing machine for a week, possibly a month, and see what they have to say about that company.

Back a couple years ago, Dec. 29, 1983, I purchased a Maytag washer, model A209, and a Maytag Dryer, model DG110. Im still using them daily. The washer has given NO problems, other than the brake has taken to squealing. This causes nothing more than a notice that the load is done, so no repair is necessary. The dryer has proven more problematic, as I have had to replace the ignitor three times, the blower fan twice, and the motor (and belt) once. I still think I have gotten my moneys worth.

I purchased the Centennial Commercial Technology washer in June of 2013. In the last 2 1/2 years it has been repaired 3 times. The transmission had to be replaced twice. My household consist of two adults and definitely it is not overused or overloaded. The washer currently is not working. Consumer service cannot schedule an appointment for repair for 2 weeks. Previous repairs took approximately 2 weeks to schedule a service appointment and it took another week to two weeks to get the part in and washer repaired. I have decided to consider this an expensive learning experience and will not purchase Maytag products in the future!

We ordered a new Bravos washer and dryer at the end of November but due to delivery snafus, we did not have both until the second week of December. Just yesterday, both failed. Part of the drum on the washer ripped off, and the dryer just stopped running an hour later. I am used to getting a long life out of appliances. The old dryer was over 20 years old, and while the old washer was only 17 years old, I thought it would be nice to get a matched set.

I purchased the Bravos X washer approximately 13 mos ago. Washer was noisy and has deteriorated since installation. I questioned the ability of a non agitator appliance getting close clean but was assured it would. Not the best if clothes are just moving against clothes. The machine had a difficult time in between adjusting to wash balancing a 3x event upon starting. It leaked intermittently during spin cycles and stopped due to unbalanced loads, sometimes refilling and stopping again. Now it wont spin at all, circuit board problems! This is my first and last Maytag. The company will most likely not balance/compensate on the purchase price (like the Bravos X) because it is beyond the 12 mos warranty.

I bought this washing machine approximately two and a half years ago. I replaced the agitating wash plate three times. After several months, the wash plate will start free spinning from the gear and will spin like a top. It has to be replaced at $140.00 plus the service call. When it was working, it doesnt clean the clothes well. I contacted Maytag numerous times about this problem and they basically gave me a tough luck answer. I just went purchased a old style machine with a tall agitator that will clean like its suppose to. Its a shame Maytag has no compassion to try and compensate customers for the expenses. I also contacted Whirlpool which took over Maytag. My rating is a negative five.

Gave up a very good old washing machine to update to a newer one and so we got the Maytag bravos 300. I thought Maytag was a very dependable name and product. The warranty went out. 2 weeks later, the water pump went out. I had to pay to have it replaced. Then after that it started making noise that got louder and louder and now it sounds like a thrashing machine. And now it has started leaking water out of the bottom. So its going in the scrap pile. What a loss of money - the worst investment I have made. For what I paid for this machine, it should have lasted for many years to come. The washer I had before this Maytag I had for 16 years - no problems at and it still worked great when I gave it away. Maytag use to be a brand you could count on. Great craftsmanship has been taken away and monetary gain has taken over. I hope no one else has to go through this nightmare that I have. Maytag they should have to give peoples money back that we all worked hard for. Going with a LG now, hope its a good machine.

I had my kitchen remodeled less than 4 years ago with a Maytag refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, and GE stove. I had a 1 year warranty, and purchased additional 2 years. The warranty ran out last year, and the refrigerator is not working. Maytag customer service said all they could offer was 1 year extended warranty for $300. I told them a refrigerator should last longer than 4 years. They agreed, but that is all they did. Ive read other online reviews, and it appears a lot of people are in the same situation (however my fridge is not on a recall list). I will never buy another Maytag product ever! Bought a Maytag HE top load washing machine (Model MVWB765FW) in Jan of 2019. As I write this the repairman is banging away on the machine to replace the gearbox that had gone bad. This is the second time a repairman has been out to work on the machine. The first time was to replace a bad water pump, which was when the machine was about six months old. Maytag would have you believe that Power and Durability Come Standard. So too, apparently, are visits from the repairman. To its credit it does a good job cleaning clothes - when its working. If youre going to buy this machine, I recommend purchasing an extended warranty - youre going to need it.

In October of 2011, I purchased a $1,199 Maytag Bravos Washing Machine. It recently started making a really loud noise during the spin cycle (REALLY loud). I had a local appliance repair guy come and he told me the main tub bearings are bad, sealer is defective and that it would not be cost effective to fix it.I called Maytag and they offered to sell me another one for $839. I am very dissatisfied that I only got 4 years out of a $1,199 machine!!! Ridiculous!! I wouldnt mind a minor repair that cost a few hundred to fix... I get that. But for it to be junk in 4 years... I have a hard time with that for the price. My appliance guy said it was junk when I bought it. Year ago, you got 15 to 20 years out of a good washing machine. Now... I buy a high end machine and it lasts 4 years. And why would I spend another $839 for the same piece of junk!!! That would be throwing good money after bad. It is not going to happen. I promised Maytag that I would post as many reviews about their product as possible... so everyone can know that they make a lousy, defective product and charge a very high price for something that will not last. Dont buy it!!

I purchased this washer in Oct. of 2017. From the beginning, it has not cleaned clothing properly and leaves a white residue on clothing. To get the residue off, I must wash the clothing again or sometimes it will come off in the dryer. The water level is too low to efficiently clean. I thought I would save water getting this but not at the price of multiple washes... What good is that? I have owned my Bravos XL for over a year. Loads of wash have come out with rust marks. These marks do not show up on all items, only one article of clothing/sheet/towel seems to pick up the rust marks (usually a couple of dots near each other surrounded by a circle). They are always the same. They have shown up on sheets which were washed in a white cycle and on other clothes of various colors.I have ruined numerous new clothes and must accept the fact that these random but frequent rust-colored dots are part of my life. I expected more. Im getting ready to purchase a W/D for our home up North and believe its necessary to return to a basic model, probably a GE. Maytag seems to have jumped the gun on this one… putting new product out there, aware these unresolved issues remain.

We purchased a Maytag MVWX655DW1 Bravos MCT washer in 2017 and I recall a sloshing sound during agitation. Its a high efficiency model and was okay for several months, I think. It began to make something of a clunking sound during agitation that was similar to the deceleration sounds when the spin cycle completes. It seems that is an indication that something is wrong. Clothes arent clean after washing - another reason to suspect a problem. I observed the wash cycles and noticed that some items dont even get wet during the wash cycle. The clunking is probably an indication of the type of failure but I couldnt find anything other than someone else asking the same question when I did an internet search. Expected performance is shown in a company video with water sloshing during agitation. Thats the key take-away. My basket moves back and forth an inch or two during agitation and makes a clunking sound at each direction change. Water isnt sloshing through clothing and some of the garage rags that were once my clothes probably just needed a good washing. I suppose that even cleaning the washer isnt accomplishing much. The spin cycle is actually impressive. I load the washer evenly and find the completed loads with a towel or shirt evenly covering the clothes pulled to the basket below. Unfortunately, thats probably the only part of the process cleaning anything. The enclosure says its designed and assembled in U.S.A. and, unfortunately, speaks to our manufacturing ability. Some of the engineers Ive worked with over the years suggested areas to inspect. I was able to use my phone camera to look under the unit and noted that it is controlled by a main drive motor and a little synchronous motor with a linkage that Im guessing changes agitation direction. Both are made in China. Ive considered repairing it and just pulled the wash plate for inspection and found nothing beyond the difficulty of pulling the wash plate. Probably an issue with the drive assembly and a few hundred dollars in parts to fix. Ive also had input from someone about the cost of replacing the control board. I grew up with TV commercials of the Maytag repairman with nothing to repair in the world of reliable, American products. Its disappointing to find that is no longer the case. The low tech GE washers weve used all our lives were old and ugly when they left our house. Not defective, a few drops of oil below or worn finish but still working. It really is a disappointment to look at where we are today. It didnt have to collect samples on Mars or deliver orders in a self-driving vehicle. A reliable washer to clean dirty clothes is all we hoped for.

After using my GE Profile to death we replaced it with a Maytag; mostly for the cost. Although I hate to admit this, remember the old saying you get what you paid for - Well its true at least in the case of this Maytag oven. The cakes are over done, underdone, cookies burnt, not cooked enough; my time frame for recipes is so off! We bought a Maytag Neptune Washer and from day one in 7/10/2004, we have had trouble with the washer and Sears. First, it stopped working within eight months after we paid over 1300 for washer and master protection agreement. We called over and over from that day and was told we didnt show in their system as owning one and that we didnt get the master protection agreement. This went on and on until they finally told us on 8/2010 that they finally did find us in the system and that the agreement had ended a year before and would send someone (that was on 8/31/10) to do the washer. After having sat for almost six years, it reset itself and worked that day. I told the guy from A&E that it was the computer but that wasnt what he replaced so the washer went right back on in a month. So we had to save to have someone else come out from A&E to charge us 143.10 to say it would cost a total of 310.51 for the computer and that it probably wouldnt work for too long.

Similar to dozens of others, we purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in March 2011. Recently, it stopped working, dead - no lights, no action. Called Maytag and they referred me to a Maytag Repairman: Coastline Appliance Service of Huntington Beach, CA. The serviceman came out and spent 20 minutes, checked the door switch for continuity, and declared the control panel bad. How do you know its the control panel, I asked. Its my gut feel, based on experience, he said! He charged me $129 for the visit and said a new control panel would cost $380! After reading other posts online, I can only conclude that a new control panel (if that is, indeed, the problem) will also go bad in the next year or two. So, like so many others, were off to buy a new dishwasher - and we will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again.

The problem continued, and every few months, the thing would stop working and I would have to call for service - 2 to 4 weeks without a dishwasher waiting for service appointment then parts and another appointment for the repair.Perhaps my machine was just a lemon.
