Purchased Maytag washer Centennial Econoserve washer. It was 2 years old Aug 2013. Washer stopped working Sept 16, 2013. Of course since it had Maytag name brand, I did not purchase extended warranty due to thinking it would at least last more than several years. I called Maytag/Whirlpool. They gave me name of authorized repair in our area. So far they have come out 2 times. $560.00 later, it is still not working and they have no answer as to how or what to do. We are now into $1300.00 between purchase and repairs and still no washer. We are retired hard working people and this is really a bad way to treat consumers. Maytag customer service could care less about the situation. They just say we should have purchased extended warranty.

Had a brand new Maytag MDB4949 dishwasher installed on 10/20/15. Noticed an acrid smell of burning plastic coming from the pull handle. After going to the reviews I see a pattern of shorting control panel boards melting the ribbon cable. Having repaired Xerox copy machines for 17 years, I recognized the smell of an electronics short and melting plastic. There are 600+ complaints for the same thing. Going to call the store we purchased it from and will escalate from there.

Purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 6 years ago and everything was fine until 3 weeks ago when the washer stopped spinning. We knew we were out of the 1 year warranty and contacted a repair service, who told us the bearing was no good. Contacted Maytag who offered in goodwill to pay for the parts and we would pay for the labor. A different repair person came in and told us the washer has no bearings but a transmission, which went bad. They ordered the transmission and today the repair person was in to install it. He installed the transmission, but while trying to take out the old one he dented the drum. According to my husband the repair person banged so hard that it sounded as if something could have been damaged, sure enough it was the drum. Contacted Maytag to see if anything can be done as now we still have no washer, and the repair person was their selection not ours. All we got from Maytag was they are not responsible and there is not much more they can do. I cannot believe the last Maytag product we had lasted over 20 years and this one is less than 6 years with problems. Will not purchase another of their products again.

My refrigerator is several years old, and I would buy the same brand when I need a new one, although I would hopefully buy a counter depth one because my kitchen is so small, and the one I have now is kind of big for the space.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher (model mdb4709aww1) from our local appliance store. A little over one year after purchase, the control panel (part w10254834) stopped working. Our appliance store replaced it. They charged us for the part but not for a service call. Its been two years since the new control panel was replaced and it just stopped working. Now, we have to pay $275.00 for the new part and service call. My previous dishwasher lasted twenty years and we never had a problem. I thought Maytag was a quality product. Sadly mistaken!!

Maytag Bravos Quiet series 300 washer - I purchased this washer 14 months ago from LOWES. After having a huge issue with a Kenmore Oasis machine. $$$. Anyway, this machine started a week ago with F1 code and Ld code. This is getting to be a financial strain buying washers every year or two. This is my third in 5 years. Looks like I will need to get another one, again. It makes no sense to repair it at a high cost when the replacement parts are the same as the failed parts. Everyone seems to have the same problem with this washer. Get better electronics guys. The rest of the machine is in fantastic shape. My two cents.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer mid November 2013. Less than six weeks later it leaked water. The repair person has been to repair it four times. The last visit was yesterday. It now has more problems than it originally had. It still leaked water. Maytag does not stand by what they sell. All they say is they will repair it. My caution to anyone reading this is never buy a Maytag appliance. I hope this review helps someone in their decision making process.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher May 2019 Model# MDB4949SDE3 Serial# F80446835. It has to be one of the worst purchases I have made in a long time. In fact, I wish I could return it and start over with another brand. My glasses come out of the cycle with film and silverware is spotted. I have tried everything from scrubbing and rinsing before I put into the dishwasher, every product on the market, making sure my hot water heater is on high to settings for the longest most powerful cycle and it still continues to disappoint. My warning is DO NOT buy this dishwasher.

The unit has an ice maker. On a regular basis, water would accumulate at the bottom of the freezer pan. When the bottom pan got filled up, water would run out on to my hardwood floor. I related the problem to the ice maker. Researching the problem, I learned that the ice maker has an adjustment for timing the on cycle for filling the ice tray. After several adjustments nothing changed. I ordered a water control valve and installed it. The problem persisted. I installed a water pressure regulator but the problem persisted. I installed a water filter, the problem persisted. I turned off the entire ice maker and the problem persisted. The problem wasnt the ice maker. The real problem was the defrost cycle of the evaporator. The drain for the water was plugged with ice. I made modifications to the design so I could monitor the drain hole in the back of the freezer. Will I purchase another Maytag… probably not?

I HATE this washer. It had such good reviews before I bought it, but I have never been so disappointed. Doesnt use NEARLY enough water to get anything clean, even when I try deep water wash, bedding, or power wash. You cant switch modes in the middle of a load, and if you leave it paused too long, it drains on you. Ive tried balling everything up as the manufacturer advised. I tried using less detergent, again as advised. Nothing works. Sometimes the clothes on top dont even get wet. Dont waste your money!! If I can find a way to fix my old washer, Im going to do that and throw this thing to the junk heap.

Maytag MCT Washer & Dryer - I bought the largest capacity to save time. However even my 6ft tall husband has problems reaching the bottom to remove clothes. Even worse is the lack of water to clean clothes, washes so long it wears clothes and they are still dirty. I tried to improve on my old Neptune and Id love to have it back. I may have to junk this washer. The dryer is very slow. Buying this set was tossing my hard earned money in the trash.

We purchased our washer Model # MHWE450WW01 and Serial # CS10502122 on March 30, 2011 along with a front loaded dryer and refrigerator on March 30, 2011 from a local store Appliance Outlet in Duncansville, PA. As with most new purchases we were excited as all three of these appliances being replaced were 20 years old. All were installed and worked great. My wife and I would often comment that in the spin cycle the washer sounded like a jet engine readying for take off. At some time in early 2014 we had Appliance Outlet come out and inspect the washer and told us that the washer was not to be that noisy and they would authorize replacement parts under warranty. In calling Maytag we were treated well and the parts came. Rear tub W10772619, Basket W10283352, Front tub W102823352.One of the parts was in fact cracked when it came in and had to be reordered. It was and several weeks later it arrived and Appliance Outlet fixed the washer. It ran so quiet we could not believe it was the same machine. In late spring of this year the noise was back. Appliance Outlet confirmed that indeed the same issue was happening and we would need to replace the parts again. In early June 2105 I called customer service and explained the situation and the rep took the notes and stated that we could indeed get these parts replaced and we as homeowners would pay for the labor. As YOU would I tried to get the labor paid for and was given the company line policy and told that there was NO way Maytag paid for the labor and the parts would be shipped. I accepted these terms.Yesterday my wife called to find out the status of the parts shipment and was taken for all intent and purpose right back thru the initial call routine. NO record of my call in early June existed and the best she got was that if Appliance Outlet would call and order the parts that they would be reimbursed. Appliance Outlet said that is NOT normal warranty procedure. Normal warranty goes from Maytag to the appliance Owner. They only confirm the issues/problems and do the labor. I am now stuck. I am also CEO of a company and while it pales in size the buck stops at my desk.

Big mistake. Worst purchase ever!! These high-efficiency washers (Maytag Washer Bravos XL) are the worst especially this one! I wash and wipe down the washer drum more than I was my clothes. I purchased it because it had a huge drum so I can wash my blankets and comforters. This washer leaves soap scum marks/residue on clothes and leaves it on the drum as well. I basically have to wash my clothes twice once with soap and then run again with just wash and rinse without soap, you tell me how efficient is that! Why not make a washer that put more water so the clothes can get washed properly. Dont worry about my water and electric bill. MAKE A WASHER THAT WORKS!I called customer service she asked me if I use the deep water, now you tell me why am I going to use the deep water, if that is the only way the washer is going to clean the clothes then do NOT give me 11 other options the washer to use. ONLY HAVE DEEP WASH OPTION. I dont care about the bells and whistles, I do not need a different tune when I turn it on and a different tune when its done washing my clothes. Make the washer the way it used to be WASHES CLOTHES WITH WATER AND LOTS OF IT. I will pay my bill not to worry. So I called customer service all they said was they will document my call! Well... like thats going to do me any good while I am stuck with your POS washer!

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator back in 2005; right around the time Whirlpool was making a play for Maytag. What a mistake! I had previously owned a GE that lasted 19 years! I even selected a model that did not have any ice in door or water in door that are prone to problems. In the 8 years I owned it, I had a serviceman to my place at least 4 times and dumped around $600 into it! Today the final straw... the compressor went! I will NEVER buy a Maytag again!

Maytag French Door Fridge Model MFT267AEW10 - Not even 1 month out of warranty and the water line solenoid is leaking. It seems the water line installed at the factory was pulled so tightly that it has caused the solenoid inlet to start leaking. My husband and I bought a Maytag dishwasher, Stove and Fridge. We were very reluctant because at our prior home we had Maytag appliances and they kept going out. Against our better judgement when we moved into our new home we decided to go with Maytag once again. First the dishwasher front panel stopped working. We had it replaced and it cost over 250.00 with replacement part and labor. Not a week later went by when our Fridge went out, that cost us another 300.00 plus to fix. Keep in mind we had only had these appliances for about 14 months. Less than a year of replacing the dishwasher panel it has gone out again. This is very frustrating and expensive. I dont usually write comments, but felt the public needed to know that Maytag has poorly made appliances. I recommend you spend the extra couple of hundred bucks and buy the better brands and warranties. Thank you.

Maytag never fails to please me. My dishwasher is so quiet I sometimes have to put my ear next to it to make sure it’s actually working. The inside is stainless steel (those are the quietest) and it has a child lock so my 2 yo grandson can push all the buttons he wants and he still can’t mess things up. I love the high temp and sanitize features and everything is always clean and dry when done. It seems like it takes a long time to run through all the cycles, though. That and no adjustable top rack are the only two things I miss with my previous dishwasher.

Bought a Maytag Washer & Dryer and after only 4 years the front panel went...cost to replace part only $653.55. After expressing concern about the price Maytag cut the cost of the part in half - now installed $475.00. Disposable dryer. Choked on it and decided to go ahead with the repair. Part was to be in in a week and it is now been a month. Maytag/Parts supplier no idea where the part is and doesnt return phone calls. Have to use the laundromat (family of 5). More money out of pocket. Not to mention time. Called Maytag again to complain about the service and having to pay more money out of pocket to use the laundromat. They basically told me, Too bad. Have used Maytag appliances over the years and always been satisfied but the company is clearly going downhill.

Maytag Bravos MCT washer not good - Owned this since June 2017. This thing has never worked properly. Every time after a cycle is complete we have to wring the soaked clothes by hand. Even after doing this the drying time ends up being double what it should be because the clothes are so wet. Not only time wasted on hand wringing clothes but also wasted energy in drying them afterwards. Also this thing is supposed to auto-detect how much water it should use but half of the time it uses too little water and doesn’t actually wash all of the clothes. Some clothes stay totally dry when this happens.

I have had this washer for a few years now and it is the WORST washing machine ever. I cant even wash a lightweight cotton blanket. It continually unlevels even with me rearranging the blanket over and over. Ill add some, take some out, whatever. It still wont work. The blanket fully wet is also HEAVY and with my arthritis, is very hard to pick up. I dont think enough water goes into the drum to actually clean the clothes either. The clothes at the end of the cycle come out in a weird mushroom form. And when the clothes do get through a complete cycle, they are twisted so tightly it is hard to get the wrinkles out in the dryer. Why would they sell a machine like this without having testing it more first? Dont get suckered into the Maytag name. Terrible washer!

Unbeknownst to us, our Maytag Refrigerators (MFD2561KES) ice maker developed a problem with the fill hose which connects to the back of the refrigerator, causing it to pop off. The hose had been leaking water onto our wood floor causing all of the boards under the refrigerator and 6 feet in front to buckle. I cannot see why Maytag did not use a compression fitting instead of using a squeeze type hose clamp. Plus the ice maker has left a large sheet inside the freezer on the bottom. I use the ice maker daily to fill my cooler for work.We also have a Maytag Dishwasher which has a push button panel in front which has decided to give out as well. Not to mention our Maytag Double Oven which has never been able to close properly since we have had it. (The service man said that there is nothing wrong with it). We bought our house 7 years ago and my wife wanted nothing but Maytag because of our experience in the past. I gave up buying american automobiles years ago and I guess the same will happen when I replace these appliances (after I finish paying for my new floor).

We purchased this Maytag Centennial washer in 2009 (model # mvwc6esw/Wd; type 849-05; ser # cy1741855) and I have hated it ever since. I had an old 406 Maytag washer that was worth its weight in gold - repaired it as long as possible. I bought this new one because it was a Maytag and that was a mistake. The way it agitates my clothes get tangled and they never did that in the other original Maytag. We had to have it fixed not long after we got it and now every time I turn it on, it immediately starts to agitate on every cycle except hand wash, which it never did before. If I knew it agitated the way it did, I never would have got it. Good thing we bought an extended warranty for this machine. We have used it once already and it looks like we may have to use it again. I am very disappointed in this machine and your workmanship. The old machines were much better and more dependable.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer at Lowe’s on sale spending almost $2000. Loved both of them until the washer stopped with a load of laundry in it. No power to unit. Called for service. Could not provide serial number as locked in washer. Service company able to order parts without the serial number but part put on back order. Washer needs a master board. After 1 week of wet laundry stuck in the washer called store manager at Lowe’s. I contacted Maytag Service and had a rude customer service clerk who finally listened to me after I got angry with her. She contacted the appliance repair company and got the back ordered part sent to the appliance repair company. We are now 10 days out. Still do not have the part; just talked to appliance repair company supervisor. The appliance repair company supervisor said he would schedule installation as soon as he had the part. It will probably be 14 days when I get the washer fixed. I am dreading opening the washer to get the load out that I will have to throw away. When I called for service at Lowe’s the representative said, We have had a lot of issues with this. A 2 month old new washer should not have the control board go out. Shame on Maytag.

I purchased the matching Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2010 at Lowes. I also purchased the extended warranty to have coverage for 4 years after purchase date. I noticed the dryer sensor is not very accurate. The purpose of the sensor is to detect when clothes are dry and then end the drying cycle automatically. However, it fails in both ways. When the dryer stops on its own, the clothes are still damp. I have the setting on NORMAL>LOW HEAT>NORMAL DRYNESS (the reason for the low heat is not to fade/shrink clothes) and even though the heat is on low, it should still keep running until the clothes are dry. So when I open the door and feel the clothes, they are still damp; I turn it back on to run again. If I dont check on it every 10 minutes, the dryer just keeps running and the clothes are bone dry. The sensor should detect this. Once, I decided to test it to see how long it would run with dry clothes and it ran for an HOUR before it shut off. Talk about a waste of electricity. The washer also has issues. First is the SHEETS setting. This setting is supposed to prevent sheets from tangling/balling up. Every time I use the sheets setting, my washer stops with the UL error - uneven load. Meaning, I have to babysit the washer because otherwise, it will stop and wait until I pull out the sheets and loosen them up. I am only washing 1 fitted full size sheet, 2 flat full size sheets, and 4 pillow cases. The reason I bought this machine was because it is supposed to handle king size bedding. Apparently, this washer cannot even handle full size bedding and I refuse to wash each item individually - the machine is supposed to save energy, not require extra loads. The second issue I am having, which resulted in me calling to utilize my extended warranty, is tiny rust dots on my clothes! About 3 months ago, I noticed one of my t-shirts had 4 tan spots smaller than the size of a dime. I assumed I spilled something on myself. About a month later, I noticed it was on another top. Then I assumed it was something on the back of my chair at work causing the spots. It seems to happen every couple of weeks because another article of clothing had these mysterious dots on them. Once, it appeared on my towels and sheets. I realized it was not me spilling anything on myself, nor was it from anything on my chairs. Now, I wasnt sure whether it was the washer or dryer, but I noticed when I pulled out a white sweater from the washer, there were 3 dots on it in the front, and I definitely would have noticed these before, which is how I came to the conclusion it’s from the washer. I cannot see any rust inside of the washer basket so I dont know where its coming from, but I am certain it is not from other articles of clothing (such as zippers or snaps); and the reason I know this is because I do not wash towels with clothes and also, I am 8 months pregnant and have been wearing maternity clothes for the past 5 months and they do NOT contain any zippers or snaps. I took pictures of the rust stains on various items and combined to 1 image. Now, I called my extended warranty to have a service technician come assess these three problems. Well see what happens.

It wont turn on, not a single light. It is fried. When Googling the issue I found that we are 1 of MANY with faulty control panels not only on our particular model but on many Maytag dishwashers. They all seem to have the same problem, right around to 2-3 year old mark. One would think dishwashers would last, like before. A dishwasher shouldnt need to be replaced or need a major repair so soon. The one our new dishwasher replaced was 12 years old and was working just fine. We just wanted to upgrade to stainless steel. Wow what an upgrade haha! Maytag should be recalling these control panels. Their name is no longer a trusted name in our home.

If there was a zero star rating available, that is what I would select! We purchased this range along with a complete kitchen ensemble for a remodel of our kitchen in December of 2011. Within a few months of purchase the enamel finish started blistering, flaking and peeling. Upon contacting Whirlpool Corp about the problem through their online chatline, email, regular mail and phone, we were informed (quite rudely I might add) that Whirlpool does not warranty cosmetic deficiencies over 30 days after product purchase. This is American Quality?? Since this has occurred the retirement home we are building will have no Whirlpool Corp products in it which includes: Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, Jenn-Air, Brastemp, Consul, Bauknecht, Gladiator, or any of the product lineup from the Chinese company Hefei Sanyo which they are buying. The attached photos were taken in May of 2012 and since that time the product finish has only exponentially deteriorated.

We bought this brand new washing machine just 6 years ago. Went with a Maytag because they are supposed to “last forever”. Ha! Last weekend it stopped spinning. Water would drain but no spin cycle. Had a recommended repair person come out and he said it was unfixable. The bearings were shot. This is crazy. There are only two of us using this machine how could it be totally unfixable 6 after only 6 years. The average washing machine life is supposed to be 14 years. No more Maytag for us.

I cant warn you enough NOT to buy this design flawed machine. Ive only owned mine two months from Home Depot, the install was a nightmare and now due to a poor design flaw, if you miss loose coins or anything in pockets it will get trapped between the drum and the tub causing rattling and noise during spin cycle. Guess what? Service calls EACH time this happens. This is nothing more than a $750 piece of junk. I feel like its marring the whole feel of my new house. I hate hate hate this washer and am trying to get Home Depot to take it back, Maytag to refund me or sell it at a huge loss. This is NOT getting anything you pay for and I vow to NEVER EVER buy Maytag again.

Repairman came out and said it would be a 3 to 4 hundred dollar repair. What happened to the great 10 year Warranty? Oh yeah, its a limited warranty which does not include wiring. I purchased Maytag dishwasher (model # MDBH979AWW3) in June of 2010. Trouble started on washer after 18 months. Touch pad buttons dont all seem to be working. Occasionally gets to run after slamming door multiple times, but dispenser doesnt function properly. After trying to diagnose myself with door switches, connectors, etc., I caved in and called service. Service quoted $470 parts and labor to fix the problems, including control touch panel, dispenser, and control board (seems common from what I read here). Wish I had seen this string of posts before I called Maytag/Whirlpool customer service to see if they would help before I did any repairs. The responses I got from the service rep were rigid and scripted. Only time she varied from the script was to explain that modern high-efficiency appliances dont tend to last as long as ones 20 years ago. 18 months? Really? I might buy that if it was a mechanical durability design issue. Supervisors responses were also scripted, pointing back to the 12-month warranty. She said she did a warranty search on my model and that there was no warranty concern for this problem (really?). If there was, she might be able to help me. I guess there is no warranty history because most failures are between 12-24 months and the consumer has to pay for replacement outside of warranty. No semblance of customer service or customer care, just repeating what is on their website. Response was: I am sorry you are dissatisfied with the product and my response, but there is nothing I am authorized do. Sent an email to Maytag customer service regarding the problem and customer service interaction. They called back saying they stand by the original customer reps response, but offered to have someone else come out to give a second opinion on the problem. From what I read here, that doesnt seem necessary. Wish Maytag/Whirlpool would at least acknowledge that there is a problem, even the auto industry seems to have figured out a way to equip the service industry with known recurring problem history (TSB) and offer token help to keep customer loyalty. Apparently another quality organization fallen victim to short-sighted methods of maintaining shareholder value.

Purchased a Maytag MDB4949SHZ dishwasher new from Home Depot in January 2018 as part of an extensive home remodel and addition. Did not move back in permanently until late June 2019, so the unit was not used at all until then. It quit working in January 2021 and our local (Sandpoint, ID) appliance repairman diagnosed a bad motor and pump assembly (the main functional component of the dishwasher). The unit was marketed as having a 10 year warranty and based on past experience with older Maytag appliances we purchased it. The fine print reveals that the 10 year warranty applies only to components that are unlikely to ever wear out or fail; all the rest are covered by a one year warranty. Part cost is over $200 and does not include installation. Maytag customer service (45+ minute hold to speak to a live human) of no help. No way are we throwing good money after bad to fix it. Lesson learned; just purchased a Bosch.

So far after 5 calls and over two hours spent on calls IMPOSSIBLE to get an answer from Maytag about the correct fill levels of detergent. Consumer support simply do not know and refuse to direct me to anyone or have anyone call that does know answer. WHY SO IMPORTANT? Either you do not get clothes clean OR you damage machine and leave residue on clothes! Neither is acceptable. Using the fill level indicator on Bravos XL dispenser is in direct contradiction to any recommended levels on lids of high efficiency detergent manufacturers like Tide. Per Maytag manual only fill detergent to max fill LINE which is literally about two or three tablespoons of detergent. The lowest possible quantity of Tide per the lines on lid even for smallest load is two or three times the recommended fill level on the dispenser. No one has to be an engineer to know two tablespoons of HE detergent in dispense is going to do same effective cleaning for one shirt or towel as it will with a queen size comforter or very large full capacity load. CORRECT ANSWER DETERMINES IF YOU DAMAGE WASHER OR IF YOU HAVE DIRTY CLOTHES. Googling online there is also no answer. Such a critical answer for Maytag washer to work and clean clothes that is simply not available and documentation is wrong is a huge concern about the viability of this machine and worse their support. Our machine is less than two months old but is obviously over-engineered to the point of just being silly. Tip to Maytag: start selling washboards. More energy efficient, more green except for red and blue bruised knuckles, uses one tenth as much water and users do not need to spend their nest egg savings to buy. Not the first but will be the last Maytag product we will buy. Name may be same but the company is definitely not the company that used to enjoy that name with pride. SUMMARY: Maytag is adamant about using the correct amount of HE detergent OR damage and bad performance by washer and dirty clothes with a detergent residue. With all our best efforts we cannot get what that quantity of detergents is supposed to be. The user manual at best has ambiguous answer. The manual suggest horizontal measure of detergent in tray to max fill level which cannot be right. IF you instead use a vertical measure of how high detergent level comes up to the max fill line the quantity is radically different. It says dispenser holds 3 oz which would be beyond max fill level but nowhere near a vertical fill level.

My husband and I called both Maytag and Lowe’s, (the store we purchased the washer from). We have been given the runaround. After talking with several managers in the Lowe’s warranty department, we were told that we had to contact Maytag directly about that particular problem. Okay, no big deal. We called and every single time we were put on hold for at least 30 minutes before we were hung up on. Not once did we even get to speak to a person. We bought the Maytag Aqualift cooktop about a year ago & are continuously dissatisfied with it, for several reasons: 1) the cooktop is a huge nuisance to cook on. The burners are either raging hot (causing boil-overs), or too cool to simmer. The boil-overs then require much cleaning with an expensive cleaning agent. 2) the oven, whether you use regular or convection, underheats - so you can’t tell how long the cooking or baking process will take, & you have to monitor the cooking process. 3) the so-called self-clean is a joke; the oven will not be clean unless you crawl inside & clean it manually. Overall, I’d prefer to toss this range in the trash. I’m a good cook, but I get angry every time I use this expensive, poorly- designed product.

Ive had the dishwasher model MDBH979SAB0 for about 3 years now. A few months ago I noticed the faceplate would pop out when you opened the dishwasher. I would have to pop it back in. The dishwasher was out of warranty so I decided to attempt to fix it. I took the faceplate off to realize all of the plastic tabs that screws go in to were snapped off. The only fix for this is a complete new panel from Whirlpool Parts Online to the tune of $194.17 (W10811169).The wheels also fall off the bottom rack. The push pin plastic becomes brittle over time and does not stay in the assembly. To replace the wheel assembly (there are 4 in total) is $38.18 each (W10195416V). The wheels or push pins cant be purchased separately. Both of these items are not covered under warranty past 1 year. Maytags 10 year warranty only covers the upper and Lower Racks (excludes cup shelf and silverware basket), chopper blade and stainless steel tub and inner door liner. So only a small percentage of the parts. The design of the faceplate is defective in that too much force is applied to the faceplate when opening the unit. The handle is integrated in to the faceplate. The plastic used becomes brittle over time and breaks. The panel unit (W10811169) must be replaced in entirety rather than just its housing increasing the cost of repair. To have this failure occur within the first 3 years of use is very premature. I can only assume if I repair the dishwasher I will have the same problem again. I am considering buying a new model that is designed better and comes with a longer warranty on such parts.

My daughter purchased this washer and matching dryer as a set from Lowes about 4 years ago. It was one of the few with an agitator and that is what she wanted. After using the washer for the first time she was very disappointed to find that the shortest cycle took over an hour and that the locking lid feature couldnt be bypassed. A few weeks ago the washer began gushing water onto the floor which flooded the basement below. She had purchased an extended warranty which was due to expire the following week. She called Lowes and scheduled a repairman. He finally came 2 weeks later and used the Internet to help him diagnose the problem!!! We could have done that. He decided that the control panel was only allowing the agitator to turn in one direction during the wash cycle. So essentially it was spinning a tub full of clothes and water causing lots of water to overflow the tub onto the floor. Needless-to-say he had to order a part and cant return for over 2 weeks to install it. IF this is even the problem! He also said he couldnt disable the locking lid feature! If my daughter had been able to open the lid when the problem started she would have known more about it.We are thankful her machine was under warranty but she will have been without a machine for almost 2 months when and if it is fixed. This is completely unsatisfactory for a gently used 4 year old washer. The dryer takes forever to dry also. If you are buying Maytag based on how long your grandmothers machine lasted, you will be disappointed! This washer caused so much damage we had to file a homeowners insurance claim!

You cant put additional items in once its started, you cant adjust a load thats uneven and get it to complete a cycle, it takes forever to do one wash and it often rinses multiple times and theres no way to stop it. I HATE THIS MACHINE. HATE IT. LIKE ITS A PERSON. HATE. Is that clear enough?

Well I must say I concur with all previous posts. I just replaced my Bravos with a Samsung after my jet plane of a washer died. My repair guy said it was not worth it to fix it. I had already replaced the shocks two years ago but I did have mine for 8 years. I have had the same problems as previous posts - rust, smell, holes, broken, too expensive! Hello to Samsung!!

I have been on the chatline with Maytag customer service for two days, trying to enforce my warranty, which expires next week. My washer flooded my kitchen over the weekend, and I contacted Maytag to schedule the repair under the warranty. First, the woman, Aisha, looked up my registration, and confirmed that I was who I said I was, that my address and phone number had not changed, and told me that according to the records, the washer was purchased on 2/7/2011. Whats the problem? First, they wanted the model and serial numbers. I realized that this is important information in determining what machine needs what repairs, except there was not one sticker anywhere on my washer! Aisha said that the technician would not perform the repair, if the manufacturer did not install the model information properly on the machine. As if I had any control over the placement, or lack thereof, of proper ID for the washer. This was followed by a request for proof of purchase. I explained that I moved, and misplaced it, but I would have it emailed to me from the original purchaser. I was told that unless she could verify the proof of purchase, and the date of purchase, she could not schedule the repair under the warranty. This is despite the fact that not 5 minutes ago, she had just read this information from her computer! I asked her why would I register someone elses washer under my name and address? She didnt care. I told her I would have the receipt emailed the next day, and she stated that regardless of the date I requested, and scheduled the repair, if the actual repair took place after the expiration date of the warranty, it still would not be covered! I told her that makes no sense. I have no control over your scheduling issues. If you cant honor the warranty if the repair is made after the expiration date, then I need a date prior to that. I am entitled to the terms of the warranty, and intend to use them. Aisha said again that, without proper proof of purchase and purchase date, without proper tags on the washer, and if the repair takes after the expiration date, it would not be covered. I disconnected from her, and reconnected with another rep, who told me that some of the information Aisha gave was incorrect. I can schedule the repair, get the receipt and email it, or submit it through the chat, and regardless of when the repair was actually done, the warranty would still be honored. This person couldnt be sure what effect the lack of proper tags would have on that. My third re-entry into the chat was no better. I located a copy of the receipt in my email, and contacted the chat again. An almost amazing thing happened! This woman again confirmed all of the information Aisha recited last night, and was prepared to schedule the repair, without even asking about proof of purchase. This woman, Jennifer, was willing to schedule the repair, verify that it would be covered under the warranty, even if it was after the expiration date, because I had called and arranged the appointment before the expiration date, and she was willing to have the missing manufacture tags replaced. I had to ask her three times to review the email, and confirm that I had the correct receipt for the technician. I asked if the technician in the course of repairing the washer, had to remove the drainage hose, could he either replace it with a longer one, or add an extension, because according to Lowes at the time of installation, the hose they installed was supplied by the manufacturer, not them. Jennifer stated that since he was only there to repair the leak, and installation is not covered under the warranty, I would have to pay for him to replace the wrong hose, with the correct hose myself, even if he removes it! I told her that she needed to ensure that the technician absolutely did not remove the drainage hose from the back of the washer during his repair, because if he removes a part that is obviously the wrong part, and then replaces the wrong part after his repair, I would file a complaint every single place I possibly could. Why would a repair technician remove a part, determine that it is the wrong part, and then put it back! That is like a mechanic repairing the axle of a car, and discovering the brakes are bad, but since he is only there to repair the axle, he replaces the bad brakes after fixing the axle! He was going to be able to replace the missing manufacturer tags, though! This entire process took at least 3 hours and two days. To date, Maytag/Whirlpool is absolutely the worst company I have had to deal with, right after Sears, and ahead of AT&T. The consequences are that so far, Maytag refuses to have the technician replace the wrong hose with the correct hose, if he removes it in the course of repairing my washer.

I own a Maytag MDB9150AWB dishwasher which isnt covered under current recalls. Yesterday, I heard a loud pop sound, and it stopped working (also popped the circuit breaker). After taking the door apart, we found burnt wires at the bottom of the door close to where they bend to go under the dishwasher.I called Maytag to find out if they would do anything, since this seemed like a defect in the materials used. They wont offer anything!

We have had our Maytag double oven for about 5 years. 18 months ago two of the burner knobs froze off. You cannot turn them. We had oven repaired - they replaced part WPW 10204705 - it cost us approx. $400 to repair. Here we are today and ANOTHER burner know has frozen in the off position. I will have to pay again to have this repaired. We are super disappointed with this over and with Maytag. We would never purchase from them again.

Purchased this unit back in November 2011. Sometime this year it started leaking water just like many others from the freezer unit onto the floor (many times large puddles). Im tired of the permanent towel on the floor to absorb the water to prevent a potential slipping hazard. I too went online and found a very nice video on youtube which showed how to disassemble the freezer compartment. Took everything apart and noticed that there was water frozen on the supply line. Melted this and put everything back together, for about a week there was no water leaking so I figured all was well. About a week later the puddle was back so I sent an inquiry to Maytag and let them know I had an image of the issue and asked if it was covered through manufacture warranty. Here is their response: Your email is extremely important to us here at the Customer experience Center and we sincerely apologize for any delays in responding to your email. We are working diligently to respond over the telephone and through email to all of our customers. We are sorry to learn of the problem you are experiencing with water leaking from the bottom of the freezer. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine from this location the exact cause of the problem. We recommend that you contact a certified technician for an accurate diagnosis. Once the problem has been diagnosed, please contact us back so that we can review the concern further to determine if assistance is available. For your convenience, we have provided below service providers in your area that you may contact for service. Aries Appliance Service (925)367-7708, Vigil Appliance Service (925)371-7701. You are a valued customer and we do apologize for any inconvenience this concern has caused. We invite you to contact Maytag again either by calling (800) 344-1274 between 8:00am to 8:00pm EST weekdays or by emailing whenever the need arises. When calling please press the available option or stay on the line to reach a representative.Frustrated I went online and found this forum where hundreds of other people had the same issue and that many of them were resolved by the new P Trap. So I watched another video by the same guy on youtube that showed how to replace the P Trap. I went online and found the replacement P Trap Manufacturer model # w10619951. One of the comments there actually said to call Maytag first as they were able to get a replacement P Trap for free. I believe if it was under a year old they would also pay for the labor to have it replaced. So this morning I called Maytag, the first guy Jim said I would have to have a certified Tech come out (76 dollar service fee, plus whatever the labor would cost) and Maytag would cover the cost of the part. I asked Jim if he could just send me the part and Ill do it myself, he reassured me that he could NOT do this and that the system was very specific. I told him I did not understand that a bad design and known quality defect, why should I have to pay several hundred dollars to fix? He told me that was the way it is. I asked to speak to his supervisor and put me on hold. Not only was the hold music extremely obnoxious but there was a loud humming noise as well, I waited for 10 minutes hung up and called back. I spoke with Maggie this time. I told her I wanted the part sent to me and if she couldnt help me I wanted to speak to a manager. She said she did not have the authority to ship me the part without approval. She said she could ask for approval and after waiting for about 3 minutes she came back on the line and said she spoke with her supervisor and that they would be sending me the replacement P trap today via FedEx. Had they not sent me the part my next stop was going to be the better business bureau..

I bought this range (Gemini Double gas range) in 2010 but was not installed
I bought this range (Gemini Double gas range) in 2010 but was not installed in my house until 2011 due to time delays in kitchen re-model. I paid $1310.00. It was serviced 3 times once under warranty. About a year ago the igniter went in one of the ovens for the second time and one of the stove burners wouldnt light. Since the other oven and 3 other burners worked we didnt call for repair, then a second burner stopped working and we called our Maytag dealer. 2 different service techs came one with more experience and both said the same thing the stove wasnt worth fixing due to cost of parts. One of the problems was the screws in the burners couldnt be removed due to rust and deterioration of the screws. They would break and cost other components also to be needed. So after 7 years of use and already having repairs done I have to buy a new stove. It will not be a Maytag. I also bought a top of the line Maytag dishwasher and one month past the 5 year warranty the electronic panel burned out. After calling Maytag and complaining they did agree to pay for the part close to $300 but I still paid for labor. When I looked at reviews for the oven before purchasing they werent too good but wanted a double oven at the time and always had good luck with Maytag in the past. I thought buying a higher priced model would be better quality. Not so. After calling Maytag today the best they could offer was to buy an extended warranty for $380, I declined. My advice - Listen to the reviews. The Maytag repairman isnt sitting around idly anymore!

I tried emailing Maytag but from what I read on consumer reports I doubt Ill get an email back. After our 20 plus year old Kenmore fridge was taken by hurricane Sandy I decided to try Maytag. What junk! We have a bottom freezer and were getting water build up on the bottom under the basket. In order to keep the water from leaking on floor I had to chop the ice out of the bottom every 2 days. My husband got frustrated and took the whole freezer apart only to find all the coils were covered in ice. Soon after that the ice maker stopped working. Tried different things to get it working. We finally took it apart and found the factory did not screw in all the screws on the inside so they fell out on the circuit board and shorted the thing out. Lucky it didnt burn the house down. All I can say is junk! Do not buy!

I am renting to own a Maytag refrigerator and it is leaking water on my floor. Runt my floor already - had to replace the floor once. Sent it back to the place where I got it for them to fix it. Paying insurance by the way that isnt worth a crap either cause they wanting to tell me that I left it open at some point or the lights was off at some point. Anyway to make a long story short they gave me the run around and didnt want to fix it. But how do you fight big companies? This was a rental company by the way rent to own so now I have 4 payments left out of 24 at 180.00 each and they still dont want to fix it. I dont know who to be madder at - the rental company or Maytag from selling this piece of junk. But by me renting to own it if any problems occurred they were suppose to fix it. Youre already paying twice the amount to get one cause of credit issues. But thats no reason to double screw someone or should I say triple cause you getting doubled the rental company alone. They need to recall this refrigerator. It has been a lot of complaint and they want to tell you to go behind the refrigerator unstop a line. Well I didnt buy this refrigerator to have to work on pulling it out from the wall every two days to do this procedure. This is crazy. Any one out there looking to buy a refrigerator my advice to you would be do your research and stay away from rental places whatever you do because you will pay twice the amount and they wont stand behind their promise either to fix it as long as you renting from them! And stay away from Maytag!!!

Just when you think that youre able to do laundry. First, comes the musty smell. So, you clean cycle your HE machine using only the cleaning product directed by the manufacturer. Then, comes the pump being stuck on. Like it still have to drain yet your clothes are soaked but you heard full force of a good drain. Poof. Unplug and kick it. Look on YouTube and discover you should take it apart and clean out some obscure puddle holder & look! You discovered where the sock monster lives...its gross. Going to start my own business (125.00) to clean these things out. Hopefully not get some kind of fungus from the grossest mold ever. Its Maytag not a Home Depot issue.

I purchased a Maytag stainless steel French door model the middle of 2006. While cleaning the French doors with the cleaning product given to me with the purchase of the new fridge, I notice what looked like coffee on the doors. It wasnt, it was rust on the stainless steel doors. I called the service tech and they came out. Rubbing the fridge, he told me it wasnt rust. He took a closer look and found that it was in fact rust. He called his office; they told him that rusting on the doors has been an issue lately. He charged me $65.00 for what I already knew. I called Maytag and it took a while, but they decided to send new doors. However, I had to have a Maytag rep install it, which would cost me. I didnt have it done. Two years later in 2010, the French doors felt hot to the touch and the inside was warm and not cooling. The freezer was fine. I called for a tech to come out and it’s another $65.00 to fix a fan motor that blows cool air from the bottom to the top. Oh, it’s not under warranty because it wasnt inside with the motor. Total cost: $235.00. In 2010, I woke up and opened the fridge to get milk out. It was warm and so was the inside of the fridge. I thought it was the same problem, but the freezer also was warm. Upset and not wanting to pay for this again, I unplugged the thing and started using a little fridge that I have stored in the basement. It has no freezer. Today, I finally got over being pissed and decided that I would have a tech come out and find out and finally fix it. The tech said that the compressor has failed and it would cost $790.00 to fix. Im not having it fixed, so it’s another $65.00 gone. The tech said that the compressor in Maytags/Whirlpools has been a pretty big issue lately. All I can say is that I will not ever purchase Whirlpool products again. From inside to the outside, this product has been unsatisfactory. I just noticed that the rubber is failing on one of the French doors. Wake up, Whirlpool. Model number is MFD2561HES.

I have read numerous complaints about the Bravo washer very similar to ours. Elder abuse should protect us from Maytag’s thievery and lack of help in repairs and replacement. 25 months ago, I bought a brand new Maytag stainless steel microwave. We had upgraded all of our appliances except the microwave when we moved in our home. Our first purchase was the Maytag refrigerator. Should have learned my lesson from that because after less than a year, the freezer on the bottom went out twice! We bought this new microwave to replace an old one that didnt match the other appliances and was worn out. Two months ago, the code SE started appearing and then would go away after a few minutes. Now it doesnt go away and you cant use the microwave. I finally called a repair person since its out of warranty and was told that it would cost over $300 to fix it. Really! After having had Maytag Highlander washer and dryer for 28 years in our ear
After having had Maytag Highlander washer and dryer for 28 years in our early married life, and continuing to think that Maytag was a quality product, we purchased the Neptune front load washer MAH6700AWW. Let me tell you this IS NOT your mothers washer, nor is this Maytag a quality product. First it was necessary to install water pipe shock arrestors because of the water valve on washer causing shock in the waterline when it closed. The automatic Softener/detergent dispenser didnt work from day one.Coins and etc. constantly kept getting under flippers and couldnt be easily removed. I found that it was impossible to remove the plastic flipper without breaking a plastic mounting tab. On my first call to customer the Maytag Customer Loyalty Team, aka Customer Service (CS), I was told that the plastic flippers were not available as a separate part, and that the entire tub assembly with plastic flippers would need to be replaced. WHAT???????? THATS LUDICROUS. After temporarily securing the broken flipper to the tub, I thought Id call again about a week later to see if the previous answer was correct. On this call, the customer service lady (whose name I have), said the flippers are available and that she would send two at no charge. A few days later two flippers arrived, but were not the correct ones. I then decided to drill two holes in the tub and remounted the broken flipper with two stainless screws as a permanent solution. Two pumps needed to be replaced. One was replaced under warranty and one by myself. The one replaced by me was damaged by a coin that made its way from the tub to the pump. Other washer manufacturers provide a means of trapping such objects before they get to the pump. The wash cycle stopped unexpectedly numerous times without reason, after which the code 5d was displayed. I called Maytag Customer service. The representative didnt know what 5d code meant. Her suggestion was to call a service man. Again, I called later to ask and was told 5d meant excessive suds which wasnt the cause. Might this have been a control problem? There were three incidents of water discharging onto the floor from under the washer over the last two months, which caused water to cover an area of approximately 5 by 12 resulting in extensive cleanup in addition to damage to stored items. Since these occurrences were weeks apart and unpredictable, I knew the problem would be difficult, if not impossible, to diagnose, even by a serviceman. I concluded that it was probably a problem with the control; either filling too long or not emptying the tub before refilling for the next cycle. Thats when I decided to send this troublesome Maytag piece of junk to the landfill.

I purchased the gas stove in June of 2012 from Home Depot, along with a Maytag microwave (Model MGR7662WB4). Home Depot installed both items. After trying to reach into the microwave about the stove, the knob would turn itself on with me brushing up against it. This happened several times, and one time the flame shot up and I almost got burned. The last time it happened, I did not realize that the knob was turned very slightly and gas was coming out of the burner for several hours. If it were not for a friend stopping over, I would not have considered the odor being from the stove. I assumed that the drains were probably backed up and started to add cleaners to the toilet bowls. I had to open the windows for several hours to get the smell out. So I called customer service 2 times. The first person said I would have to pay for the call if the problem was not Maytag and I said, “Forget it.” Then I went into Home Depot and the salesperson in there gave me another number to call for service. They came last Friday and said that he had seen at least 10-15 calls about this and since the unit was working as designed and no recalls, there was nothing they could do. “Just wait and see if a recall would be put into place and I would be on the list to fix it. In the meantime just keep the knobs off (which I was doing already out of fear).” My sister just bought a Whirlpool gas range this summer as well and asked if I could try her knob and it worked perfectly. Again I called CS and was told they could not send me those at no charge and that it would cancel out the warranty. So I asked her what I have to do before I or someone else gets injured and she said that until there was a recall, there was nothing they could do. I told her I was going to contact Consumer Report as well as Pam Zekman on Channel 2 news in Chicago. End of story; I still have the problem and no knobs on the new stove. Anything you can do to help please contact me, and thank you in advance.

In May of 2009, my husband and I bought a new Maytag refrigerator side-by-side, model MSD-2572VEW. The day we bought it, pieces started breaking. The shelves started cracking, and now they are completely falling apart. There are also cracks in the inside walls of the refrigerator. Every single door shelf, inside shelf and wall is falling apart. I have fixed the ice-maker myself several times. I am now going to design and build some new shelves so that we can get as much use out if it as possible before it is unusable. I am angry that a company can make such a horrible product and not have to take responsibility. If my employer ever provided a client anything but the best, we would all be out a job.

Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins. The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

I have a Maytag refrigerator that is about 6 years old. I like the fridge, but the icemaker no longer works and water constantly drips from the door. They will not fix it, even though we have an extended warranty that they have provided. I have waited for months and I am told an icemaker is not important and the fridge is still working, so why am I complaining? When you pay for a fridge with an icemaker and water dispenser, I believe it is part of the refrigerator I paid for and it should be fixed, but Maytag doesnt seem to think so.

Electronic control board fried after 3 yrs on Maytag Gemini range - certain buttons on control board would not set for ovens. Called Maytag, said was not covered, past 1 year warranty. Recommended repair shops, all overpriced. The piece cost between $300-500 for a 3 year old stove. Cheapest repairman wanted 90 to install piece. Ordered piece online and replaced it myself with help from YouTube video. Maytag has lousy repair records lately. Of 4 Maytag appliances purchased in 3 yr kitchen remodeling… already had issues with 3 of them. Do not recommend Maytag anymore!

We bought our beautiful Maytag refrigerator model MFI2568AES at our local Home Depot approx. 4 to 5 years ago. The refrigerator stopped cooling last week and we had just renewed the warranty for 3 years. The service repair stated that the problem was not covered (internal corrosion) and they could not do anything for us. Is this how long Maytag refrigerators last? Home Depot was also not willing to do anything for us. Were very upset and disappointed and using ice chests for now.
