We bought a Maytag refrigerator. Big big mistake. It bangs, makes all kinds of noises. The bottom freezer has ice that builds up once in a while, has to be unloaded and thawed out. We have had several service calls and they do not know whats wrong. Trouble started about a month out of warranty. Called Maytag and they would not do anything. WE are very disappointed in Maytag. We spent more money to get a good product and ended up with junk. We are getting rid of it and buying one that is made by a company that knows what they are doing.

Our 26 month old Maytag fridge (Model MFF2258VEM8) was the french door freezer on bottom modern style fridge. The freezer stopped working. The repair shop took the fridge away and repaired a leak (quality control issue) and then the compressor failed in a test. They wanted $700 to make a repair that would have a 90 day warranty about 1/2 the cost of the fridge. Maytag was contacted at multiple levels and they would not even provide a free compressor or provide a substantial discount on a new fridge. What a way to treat a customer who once had all major Maytag appliances in our home. We decided to get a GE Profile fridge and are very happy with it. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. I dont think it is the great company it once was years ago.

I have a Maytag refrigerator that I bought 20 years ago when I moved into my new house. It’s still going strong and haven’t had any problems with it. The only thing that has been replaced is the filter. Knock on wood!!

Ive had my Maytag refrigerator for 19 years and it still performs well. I keep it clean both inside and underneath. The lighting is one aspect I really appreciate as there are two bulbs in the interior so theres never a problem seeing all the contents. Also appreciated are the movable shelves on the door and the ability to raise or lower the main shelves in the body of the fridge.

I purchased model number MF12067AEW in 10/07. Motherboard has been ordered to be replaced. I have been waiting 2 weeks for the board--all over the Xmas holidays without a refrigerator! We bought this model and paid $2,800 to have a counter-depth refrigerator. I will never by anything from Maytag again. We are holding our breath to see what the cost will be and if it will it break down again. We lost all the food in the top. Ice machine flap continued to pound open and shut all the time.

Was very happy with choice when it arrived. Bought October of 2010. Now, this summer, nothing but problems. Honestly weekly cleaning of vents underneath, sheets of ice in freezer, refrigerator not staying cool, constant frost plugging areas, and no more ideas of how to make it work. I already quit with Kenmore after terrible problems with their appliances and now when Maytag doesnt stand up for years what are we supposed to buy? OUTRAGED with American quality of products and disposables. UGH!!!

I purchased a stainless steel (freezer bottom) Maytag refrigerator Model # MFI2670XEM0 in Oct 2012. Since then its been a nightmare. The repairman has been out four times, once being a week after I purchased it. It leaked and ruined my kitchen floor. Call Maytag, they didnt want to hear about it. As of this moment, I have three more things broken on the unit. My ice maker literally takes 3 days to make ice, the alarm on the door is broken, and the plastic crisper cracked and now will not stay in. Called Maytag again and they stated that they will not replace the item with one of equal value. They just keep repairing it. I will NEVER EVER buy another Maytag product again. I spent $1700 on this product and had faith in the Maytag product. That will never happen again. Shame on Maytag for not standing behind their products.

Built a new house, bought new appliances for the kitchen. Like others, did all the research, wanted to buy American made. Wow, did we ever make a mistake. Refrigerator is just over 2 years old. It is worthless. Repairman, Maytag Certified, says that it appears to be internal problems and probably come from the factory that way. He suggested I contact Maytag directly and they should be able to make things right for me and my family.So, I called, sat on hold for 10-15 minutes, and was finally connected to a customer service employee. I explained all that I knew about the problem, she pulled the repairmans notes and the notes of the technician that had spoken with the repairman. After reviewing the file, she informed me that my 2-year-old refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing that could be done.What ever happened to American Made companies standing behind their product? I didnt spend $2000 on a refrigerator that would last me 2 years. I expected 7-10 years, AT LEAST! I expected a company with the name MAYTAG to show some shame for creating a piece of junk and charging a customer this much money for something they know is obviously flawed from the factory. Shame? No. Guilt? None whatsoever.Caution to those considering a Maytag product. Run away! Go find a more reputable company. Go find a company who views customer service and quality products as a priority. I didnt purchase the cheapest refrigerator on purpose. I paid extra for American made and what I thought was a quality product sold by a quality company. Reality has now set in.

Food stored next to the ice dispenser freezes. Freezer floor builds up with 1 1/2 to 2 of ice every couple of weeks, door wont close and water leaks on floor.

We bought a Maytag Refrigerator, Model MSB27C2XAMSS from BrandsMart on 2/4/2015. Today, I made my 4th Service Call for the Ice Maker not making ice. The service department has replaced the icemaker, repaired it and still does not work. When I call for service I usually have to wait 5-7 days before I can have a technician come to my home. Also, the refrigerator door does not close unless you push it completely to the refrigerator, unlike most refrigerators that I have had. I would never buy another Maytag refrigerator and certainly will make an informed and researched decision before buying another refrigerator. I am truly dissatisfied with this refrigerator and would suggest looking for other brands.

Our Maytag refrigerator was about a year old when we noticed rust on the edge of the stainless steel doors. I called Maytag and they were nice enough to replace the doors even though the warranty had expired by their standards. Keep in mind, the warranty starts when you purchase the product, not when you install it. We ordered our appliances from Lowes well in advance of our kitchen remodel so we would have them when we needed them. The time our appliances sat in Lowes warehouse used up two months of our warranty.Now, the new stainless steel doors are rusting and they are refusing to do any thing about it. Should stainless steel rust? Maytag doesnt seem to care whether their product performs the way they should. Its all about the warranty. Once the warranty lapses, they could care less whether their product blows up. Thats the customers problem. Whatever happened to building a quality product that lasted and customers bought for generations? Obviously, thats a thing of the past.My goal in writing this is to make consumers aware of appliance warranties. When I spoke to Lucas, a Maytag customer service supervisor, he informed me their products offered no warranty on the finish of the product. So, according to Lucas, the finish on your brand new Maytag appliance could flake off like dandruff and its your problem regardless whether its a manufacturing defect or not. Remember, buyer beware!

I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

Every 3 months, the freezer compartment needs to be dismantled to unclog the defrost drain hole. When this occurs, it dumps all the defrost all over the base of the freezer which then leaks water out of the freezer door all over the floor. Clearly a design flaw and Maytag will not acknowledge this but appliance repairman says these are notorious for this. A $1700 fridge shouldnt do this. Never will I buy a Maytag again, a complete POS.

Warranty dept. will not help you! I have been told by technicians sent to service my refrigerator after it spoiled food multiple times from not staying cold. The technician flat out told me that this refrigerator cannot be fixed but they are not allowed to say that it cannot be fixed. They will not return your calls and are just flat out rude. After asking to escalate a call, the rep said the manager will call me right back in a few minutes. Hours went by and I called again five minutes before they closed to speak to someone in management at that moment. This manager told me with no hesitation that they dont always believe what their technicians say because they send out techs that are good, okay, and not good. My first question is why is Maytag confident in the people they are sending to my house time and time again that stay for three hours?! She began to get rude and disrespectful and said, Well, if you had cancer, you wouldnt believe the first thing they say... I am in awe of these remarks. How do you compare a refrigerator to cancer?! I asked for a business address and stated that I would like the address to file with the Better Business Bureau and she told me that they have all the info I need. She refused to let me speak to anyone else. This situation is uncalled for when I have the technician telling me, This refrigerator is not repairable but they wont allow me to say that and Maytag will not make this an easy process for you. Unbelievable!

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEW) less than 6 weeks ago, and the compressor has already failed! Its not good, but the reason I am writing is their customer service (or lack of it)! We were told that it would take 3 weeks to get the replacement part, which was only 45 days old. Home Depot, where I had bought it, has been great; and they pushed Maytag/Whirlpool to agree to replace it. But Home Depot cannot not get us a new one until the paperwork comes from Maytag. We were told by their customer service that it would take 4 working days just to process the paperwork! Thats working days, and this is a Friday! So now, theyve all left for the weekend, and I still have no refrigerator and no idea when I will get one! They said no to getting the part faster, no to speeding up the paperwork, no to me returning it and getting a refund, and no to providing me with a rental. Please consider this when making any new appliance purchase.

We have had our side by side Kenmore for years and it hasnt let us down! We eat mostly fresh food since we cook a lot and we always have plenty of space for our food. We are only a family of 2 though. They say the ice maker is the first to fail and it has not given us any issues for nearly 10 years now! Love Kenmore!

I purchased a new Maytag refrigerator on September 21, 2007. The refrigerator compressor went out on July 19, 2011, three years and ten months. The repairman said that the compressor developed a pin hole leak and all the freon leaked out. The repair cost appear to be around $300 when completed, hopefully. What a crappy refrigerator. It seems that this is a regular problem with all types of Maytag appliances. Maytag is no longer a premium appliance. Stay clear from purchasing one!

Our new refrigerator was pissing all over the kitchen floor. We had to disconnect the ice maker after an alleged repair part was supplied. (We had to pay a plumber to install it.) It didnt work, so we finally had to disconnect all the parts related to the ice maker. Here it is July, and ice cubes would really be appreciated right now. I get angry when I see all the Maytag commercials that pop up on the internet!

My Maytag refrigerator, french door freezer on bottom MFT2976AEMOO has had problems since I bought it. It is with the icemaker in the refrigerator door and freezer. My icemaker has been leaking since we have gotten it dripping water into the refrigerator. The freezer now is not working and all my frozen food thawed out. I am so tired of having workmen coming out to try to repair it. They even took the refrigerator back to the shop and had it for 3 weeks and said it was repaired and told me it was working fine. NOT frozen food, again thawed.

I purchased a small (14.5 cubic feet) refrigerator for my basement from Home Depot on January 26, 2013. It was delivered on January 30, 2013. On February 14, 2013, we found that it was not cooling like it was supposed to. The soft drinks in it were not cold. I called Home Depot and was told I had to call Maytag for a repairman to come out. Since it was so new, I felt it should be replaced. They disagree. The warranty only calls for repair. So a repairman came out on Feb. 19th. He said that it has no freon. He doesnt know why. It could have a leak. It could have leaked out in the warehouse. There is no way to know this. He said another repairman would be out to fix it on the 20th. On the 20th, no one showed up or called. I called the repair company, S & S Appliance of Bessemer. I was told the repairman that I needed is in Montgomery today and the repairman yesterday was told to tell me he would call me. He was told to not tell me someone would be out today. So now, I have to wait until tomorrow for someone else to call me and see when he can fit me in his schedule. I think Maytag has a problem with their refrigerators. I think Home Depot has a problem not standing behind what they sell. I think S & S has a problem with their servicemen. I am not happy with any of these companies and will never buy another Maytag refrigerator or washer, but thats another story.

I purchased Maytag refrigerator (model # MSD2572VES). The fridge side stopped working. I was told that the vent/chute between the freezer and fridge ices up and prevents the cold air from the freezer to go through the fridge. The tech said that Maytag was sending him a tube of silicone to apply all around freezer and fridge and that this will probably fix the problem. So in other words, because of a design flaw, the refrigerator cannot function without adding silicone (maybe). I believe I purchased a lemon with a design flaw and they want me to accept a permanent band-aid as the solution. Shouldnt I have right to demand another model instead of having to accept a cheap alternative (silicone)? Now, if factory installed parts break off, can you imagine silicone tubed in after the fact where there was no silicone crevasse? I cant imagine it staying on - permanently.

Refrigerator (Model Mff2558vems) purchased end of November 2011. Early in 2013 notice refrigerator first forming ice all over freezer, including an ice sheet on bottom of freezer. Then noticed water around refrigerator. Called maytag and they sent repairman even though a little over year and out of warranty. Their service people seemed to know exactly what was causing the leak as they came in with the correct replacement part. Worked fine however, there was damage to my newly refinished hardwood floors which Maytag did pay to repair. A couple of days ago I opened the freezer and again noticed ice all over freezer. The next day, water all around freezer. I cleaned everything up, so I thought. The day after, we noticed the hardwood in kitchen buckling up far from refrigerator and the laminate in dining room bubbling, even though there was no visible sign of water. Called Maytag repair company but they couldnt come out for a couple of days. Called another local repair service familiar with Maytag refrigerators and he couldnt find anything wrong with refrigerator even though he knows leaking caused by refrigerator. Called insurance co. and they sent over service master. Leak is definitely coming from refrigerator. They had to pull up hardwood floor, part of walls, the dining room. They now have five large fans going and a defroster to dry things up. This is upsetting, as my daughters wedding is next month, my husband is currently laid off and I dont need this kind of aggravation again. I love the french door idea, so roomy for my large family, but I am now afraid of this refrigerator. I dont want it but think it is ridiculous I have to shell out more money when the refrigerator is less than 3 years old. I talked with a higher level supervisor at Maytag and they are only willing to give a 100.00 rebate towards a new refrigerator since the refrigerator is out of warranty. This is ridiculous. I thought by buying American I was helping our economy but what I got in return is heartache and crappy merchandise. If there is a lawsuit in California against Maytag about these refrigerators I want to join. My friend in N. CA who bought her Maytag refrigerator the same time I did is also experiencing leaking. So frustrating.

After many phone calls to Maytag they replaced the parts (compressor) - my cost for labor (aprox $300.00). 30 days later, the service company had to repair a leak and recharge the system. March of 2015 the compressor failed again. Have spoken to Maytag (case # **) - they will provide no help what so ever. I was told I should have purchased an extended warranty.

I had purchased a brand new Maytag refrigerator and in less than a year, the ice dispenser stopped working. I had called Maytag warranty department in regards to this matter and they flat out said, There is nothing we can do about it. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator in November 2016. It is now the first week of June 2017 and the ice dispenser no longer works and the door alarm goes off incessantly and intermittently all day and all night. I am so sick of being woken up by the alarm in the middle of the night. I reread the manual and ran through the limited troubleshooting to no avail. I called customer service, sat on hold for a half hour, and scheduled a service call. As an interim stopgap for the pull-my-hair-out alarm issue, the operator suggested I disconnect some wires, as there is no off button for the door alarm. I wasnt dumb enough to do that and void my warranty. Best part of the call was when the operator offered to sell me an extended warranty. Well see how the service appointment goes, but I have a feeling this is the last Maytag product I will ever get. I am very curious about the lack of product recall as my research unveiled hundreds of complaints about the exact same issues I am having. Why does it seem to take a class action lawsuit before a company fulfills the promises in their advertising? Model number: MFI2570FEZ01 Purchased from Home Depot in Nov 2016 for $1,230.

We bought this refrigerator one year & 3 months ago & we have had various issues that are now no longer covered under the warranty. The pantry drawer has a peg on the side that is plastic & broke off on the right side. Will have to replace the whole right side panel. One of the door handles is coming loose which should be an easy fix, but its just annoying that it happened at all. Now the control panel is reading OFF/OFF & isnt responding at all. Tried unplugging for 10 secs, then plug it back in, but no luck. I cannot find any info online regarding this issue, so we will have to call Maytag. Hopefully, there is an easy resolution to this problem & we wont have to buy a new motherboard.

I purchased a Maytag 4-door model, a little over three years ago. A little over a year ago, I noticed small puddles of water around the bottom of my refrigerator on the floor. I blamed the dog for having accidents and shrugged it off. Well, after months of putting up with this I came to the realization that it wasnt my dog, so I started looking for leaks on the seal, etc. Thats when I realized that the entire floor of the freezer was one solid block of ice! So, I looked online for people that might be having the same problem. Sure enough, there are A LOT of us!!! Now to add insult to injury, I have to have a MAYTAG certified repairman come and look at what needs to be done! He only charges $85.00 just to come to my house!!!! Thanks MAYTAG, I spend $2500.00 for a refrigerator thats obviously defective, and still have to pay more to have it repaired!!!

The Deli drawer randomly falls, shelves in general do not fit well. Rough edges on door corners are a hazard especially for children. Service call line was extremely poor with a total disregard to customer concerns. It has been a very bad decision!

Our experience with our Maytag refrigerator has been anything but good! It has the model # and serial # of the ones that have been recalled, only we have just found out about this. We bought this new at Sears. Soon after, it started having troubles with the freezer, would freeze up and the whole thing would stop working. Over the years, we have had repair after repair, money after money. Just for the record, my husband and I about every two weeks spend about one hour defrosting this monster! It looks nice on the outside.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator less than two years ago because... its Maytag. Less than a year later we had five service calls. The refrigerator wasnt cold, the freezer was the temperature of the refrigerator and it took two months and two different repair companies to fix it. And now... yes, the same problem seems to be occurring. It was a leak that was supposed fix. Cant bear the idea of going through this all over again. NEVER again Maytag!!!

Purchased a Maytag MSD2553WEW00 refrigerator on 2/27/2011 from Home Depot. Began using it in July 2012 upon completion of home construction. In February 2014, after less than two years of service, the refrigerator was running but no longer cooling. After the expense of several part replacements and a service call, it was determined that the compressor had failed. Unlike most manufacturers, Maytag did not warrant the compressor and closed system beyond 12 months. The refrigerator looks like new but the cost of repair is prohibitive relative to purchasing another new refrigerator. Maytag was contacted but was not helpful.

My washing machine was noisy from the start. We had recently purchased a new fridge and were told when we questioned its noise thats just the way they are. So we didnt question the noisy washer as we should have. The noise got louder as time went on and at the 18 month mark, it was so bad, we had someone look at it. The washer had never cleaned as well as expected, but again, we were too busy to follow up. The repairman advised that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced! Augh! $450 for parts $300 for labour! I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and was advised they would go good for the parts, I would have to pay labour. Not being terribly impressed, did a bit of research and was told it was worth fixing. As it was technically out of warranty, I was lucky to have them pay for parts. Took 6 weeks to get part. In that time, had questions about delay, etc... at one point was yelled at on the phone by Melissa from Whirlpool as I asked to speak to a supervisor. So fun :( First part comes and it is defective, luckily there was another one in Vancouver, so only an additional 4 day wait. My machine is now fixed. It is extremely quiet and cleans very well. Suffice to say, it was defective from the start. So, Ive gotten to pay an extra $300 over retail to have a working machine! Lucky me! Repairman also advised that he recommends everyone to purchase the additional 5 year warranty as the manufacturers are now only making machines with a 7 year life expectancy and I was VERY lucky in the beginning to get someone to even talk to me after the 1 year mark.

Ive had this Maytag for more than 15 years and it still works well. Its a basic fridge, no special features. Just keeps food cold or frozen. Freezer at top, fruit & veggie bins at bottom, cheese bin. No problems, good performance.

I wish I had never bought a Maytag refrigerator! Nothing but problems. The ice maker does not work, water leaked 3 times onto our wood floor. Finally, I disconnected the control panel so I have an ice/water dispenser that is useless just like the refrigerator. I dont think the Maytag man is sitting around from lack of work, maybe laziness. Dont buy a Maytag.

Bought a 2400.00 refrigerator 1 year and 4 months ago. The freezer quit working and we lost everything in the freezer. We called and were out of warranty. The commercial on tv shows the bored repairman who never has any work because Maytag is so reliable. What a crock! We are going to have to pay for the labor which could be as high as 800.00. This is so wrong. This is a high end refrigerator and the fact that it only lasted a little over 1 year is unbelievable. I would dump it if I could afford to. It is a piece of junk. I will never ever buy Maytag again. Make a new commercial, one where the repairman is so busy he works 24/7. We got screwed by Maytag. They do not stand behind their product, they rob you blind.

Frigidaire makes a good fridge. It works good. It has an alarm when you leave as door open. Great appliance. If I could afford it Id get another one when this old model I have gives up on me.

MFI2670XEMS - I bought a Maytag Fridge MFI2670XEMS in 2012. I dont remember how long it took to start leaking but it wasnt long. Same thing as what most people are complaining about - I also have hardwood floors that are ruined. I just had a kitchen remodel and now I wish the floors werent new. Warped badly under the fridge. It is a constant pain. I have to break up the ice with a blunt object to get it out. I was so excited to get a new fridge. Of course it was on sale, now I know why. I wish I had just kept the old one, at least my floors would look great. Lame.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag!On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

We purchased a new Maytag french door refrigerator and from day one had issues with the ice maker. After three replacements Maytag informed me that this was an inherent issues and no fix available. So we had a $2000+ refrigerator with a non-functioning ice maker. Our 20 year old Frigidaire continues to make ice with no issues. Then the control panel lights started blinking and evidently this is also a known problem and when I called Maytag to buy the part, they said SORRY we dont offer parts on our appliances over 6 years old. This is the worst piece of ** I have ever owned coupled with the lousiest customer service in the world. I will never buy another Maytag.

I just bought this refrigerator a bit more than 2 years ago. I have to change electronic module for $300 CAD including labor. Home Depot advised me to contact directly Maytag and to express my dissatisfaction about this unreliable product.

It is not worth the money. I paid $2500.00 for a Maytag refrigerator that I had for two months. Two service calls were made to Maytag as of 07/07/2014, the problem no ice and the refrigerator stays warm. The problem has not been resolve and Maytag refuses to replace the item.

I tried emailing Maytag but from what I read on consumer reports I doubt Ill get an email back. After our 20 plus year old Kenmore fridge was taken by hurricane Sandy I decided to try Maytag. What junk! We have a bottom freezer and were getting water build up on the bottom under the basket. In order to keep the water from leaking on floor I had to chop the ice out of the bottom every 2 days. My husband got frustrated and took the whole freezer apart only to find all the coils were covered in ice. Soon after that the ice maker stopped working. Tried different things to get it working. We finally took it apart and found the factory did not screw in all the screws on the inside so they fell out on the circuit board and shorted the thing out. Lucky it didnt burn the house down. All I can say is junk! Do not buy!

On Thurs. Sept 25 at noon the alarms and lights started flashing on my refrigerator when I tried to get some water. I called Maytag, told them what was happening and told them to bring a motherboard when they came as nothing was working but the lights and alarms. I was told it was too close to the weekend so they would be out Mon. the 29th and I should just to get some dry ice. They came and the order said nothing about a motherboard, which is what the tech person who came also said it needed. Now they will be here on the 7th of Oct - maybe. 12 days is highly unsatisfactory for refrigerator repair. They had 4 days to see that the provider had a motherboard before the serviceman wasted a trip. Ive spent $102 on dry ice and now Im going to lose the food anyhow. I like the refrigerator but the service is really terrible so I wont be buying another Maytag appliance. The person at the call center ignored my diagnosis and it will be even worse now as over the weekend Maytag switched their call service to India!

My 14 month old Refrigerator made a popping noise and quit working. I called Maytag and I had to pay $299.00 for a Service Plan so the repairs would be covered under a warranty and A&E Factory Service came out to do the repair. The repairman told me the Circuit Board and Compressor were melted and he was surprised it didnt cause a fire. The repairman had to get authorization to order the parts for this repair because they were so expensive and he is not even sure if the repair will fix the refrigerator. It is going to take 2 weeks for the parts to come in which means I will be without a refrigerator for a total of 3 weeks and were not sure if this will fix the problem. I am being told by Assurance (the warranty company) that they have to replace the parts 3 times before they will replace the refrigerator. I asked them, Exactly how long do you expect me to go without a refrigerator before I get mine fixed or replaced? When I called customer service and spoke to Brittany she gave me her standard robotic answers. I asked to speak to a manager and she sent me to the never-ending hold zone. I called back and non manager was available but they took my name and number and assured me that someone would call me back. I am still waiting for that call.

My husband and I purchased a Maytag stainless steel French door/freezer bottom ice making fridge from Hhgregg in Brown Deer, WI and 8 months later (now), Ive been told that my food that is spoiled, cant be replaced and my service for the fridge wont be done until next week! I have 5 kids and a husband. This has turned our world upside down. I called them and spoke to a Nicole and she said they cant do anything for us, but we can try to contact the diamond repair service at 269-927-2519 to see if they can get us in sooner. I asked for a refund for the fridge and she said no, the 10 warranty only counts for repairs... I am so angry that I didnt research Maytag before now. I gave the Whirlpool fridge to the delivery guys of Hhgregg and I had that for 18 years and it never went out on me. If anyone is reading this and is upset as well, let us get together and start a class action suit!

Duck bill valve for defrost water from freezer malfunctions, water flows into freezer freezes, then eventually overflows onto floor. Huge problem for folks with wood floors. Also a slip/fall danger especially for the elderly. When the repair line is contacted, they deny the problem and say you are the only one. But if you do your research, you find there are hundreds of complaints and in November 2013 they issue a service bulletin, but its internal, not meant for consumers to find out. So if you have this problem, go to the Consumer Product Safety Commission and fill out a complaint. Maybe then something may come of it.

I am online now because we have the same problem. Our refrigerator is less than 2 years old. Watched a video on YouTube how to fix problem and repairman said engineers who created design must have been on drugs. I think hes right. Very common problem. Have to call repairman!!

We are having the same problems with the drain clogging and bottom of the freezer filling with ice and then water all over the floor. We currently de-ice the freezer once a week. After paying top dollar for what is advertised as a top product, we expect better service. Especially when Maytag is fully aware of this problem. We sent an email of complaint to Maytag. Heard from them today. They would pay for the replacement part but not the labor. Most places around here charge $250.00 just to walk in the door!!! Is Maytag kidding?!?! NEVER AGAIN. Will also tell anyone who will listen to stay away from Maytag. No wonder they dont belong to the Consumer Resources group!!

Part on fridge is defective. They have sent the part but tell me they dont have anyone in the area to work on it. Nor will they pay for someone to come out. We must replace it ourselves. This product should be on recall. Maytag fridge. Freezer door on bottom filling up with water. We have 2 of them doing this. One about 15 years old. Other one is 3 yrs old. Maytag knows of the problem but wont fix it. Wont recall their default product.

I have had this refrigerator for a few years and never have had a problem. It keeps food uniformly cold, and is frost free. While appearance is attractive, it doesnt look like a $3,000 refrigerator. However, black pebbled-surface exterior is easy to clean and scratch-resistant. Plastic and glass interior fittings also have held up very well. I originally thought it would be too small because I was buying it to fit a certain space in the kitchen. But it has turned out to be just the right size because there is no wasted space inside. I bought this at Home Depot on sale for about $400.00 and it has turned out to be an excellent buy. Delivery was on time, efficient, and people were polite and helpful. Refrigerator was ready to be used about 15 minutes after delivery arrived. I have found Maytag appliances to be extremely reliable and made to last. They have never disappointed me. I will continue to buy them. I highly recommend it.

I bought a French door refrigerator on May 23, 2012. It is now July 9, 2014 and the repairman has told me the compressor is bad. Maytag will do nothing about it because it is out of the 1 year warranty. I am very disappointed because I thought I was buying a quality appliance. I will never purchase another Maytag appliance!

Purchased a refrigerator freezer in 2012. It freezes the refrigerator contents, ruins vegetables....freezer doesnt freeze the contents....stopped making ice. Clicks on and off every two seconds sometimes for twenty minutes......

My home has all Maytag appliances, all just over 2.5 years and I have had no issues with any of the other equipment excepting the fridge. The fridge itself works very well when it does, but some things are just wrong/flawed with the French door fridge.1. The Evaporator mechanism is flawed and keeps accumulating frost over the Thermistor sensor, which in turn shuts off the fan and the fridge itself stops cooling rendering all the produce bad within hours of purchase. The freezer and icemaker works fine during this time. The first time a tech came in during Warranty period and put come Aluminum foil over the thermostat and zip tied it and told us that the issue is resolved. Fast forward 18 months or so, same issue. This time they want to replace all parts since the last time it did not fix it. How convenient isnt it? So now I have to shell 500 plus bucks to solve what was not fixed the last time. Flawed design is all it is; do not purchase any of the French door fridge from Maytag/Whirlpool or be prepared to buy an extended warranty and a down fridge every 12-15 months at the minimum. In my case shell out 500 bucks every 15 months I guess.2. Sloppy icemaker: Ever heard of an icemaker that thinks and drops 4-5 cubes when requested and thinks again before giving another 4-5 cubes? We see it all the time at Soda fountains. This is what to expect off a Maytag ice maker. And lord knows if you have guests, they will run through the batch of ice by the very first meal and then the princess ice maker needs 12 hours to make another batch of ice.3. I bought a refrig from Home Depot on 10-16-2012 two years ago and it doesnt work, but they only put one year warranty on. So had to go out and buy another. My complaint a refrig should last more than two years but they were going to send repairman out on my expense and more than likely would of cost me the price of a new one.

The refrigerator has been very dependable for over 14 years. The biggest problem we have had is failure of plastic tracks on drawers that break and had to replace drawers and other problems with plastic components like deli drawer coverlet, and door shelf door plastic. Recently we have problems with the touch control panel on front of door. Not working properly for ice dispensing and temp. control although temp is maintaining what we had set prior to failure of control panel.

We bought the fridge (MFF2258VEW2) about 5 years ago. We have had nothing but problems. First it was the water leaking all over the floor. The repair man said the drain tube in the back was too small. That was replaced. Then the door gaskets were replaced. The doors still do not stay closed. Again water leaking all over the floor. The bottom of freezer had ice all over it. I had to take the back of the fridge and freezer. For 2 days I had a fan blowing on to defrost it. The door shelves are cracked and falling off. I had to pay for the hooks that hold up the bottom shelf 5 times and again they are broken. The long narrow slide out shelf is broken. Food in the back of the fridge are freezing. I have contacted Maytag a lot and they will not fix the problems. At the same time I bought the fridge I bought a Maytag top load HE washer and a drier. I had to throw out the washing machine last year. It would have cost me too much money to fix it. I will never EVER buy Maytag again.

Purchased new Maytag Refrigerator from Mannys in Western MA. Top freezer, over $900.00. Never has worked correctly. We need to turn the freezer way up to freeze the ice cream and it forms frost all around the freezer with mini icicles hanging! But even worse... no matter what setting you put the refrigerator on it ruins your food by freezing everything. The only safe spot is in the deli drawer. I have thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of food that is destroyed because it froze in the refrigerator.A service man from Mannys came and ordered parts. He came back and said they were the wrong parts. Now he says that the refrigerator has a problem and Maytag is trying to come out with a plan on how to fix it. I talked with Maytag (took 44 minutes to get someone on the phone). The manager in service was rude, said they dont replace food and they would work on fixing it. 2 weeks later... no calls from either place. I called Mannys and they said they should have some news by next week. In the meantime I dont have a refrigerator that works! NEVER BUY A MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR!!! It is still under warranty and I asked for a new refrigerator... both Mannys and Maytag said no way.

I just want everyone to be aware that Maytag went bankrupt several years ago. They were bought out by another company that still puts the little Maytag sticker on, and all the products are made in Mexico. Apparently all the lawsuits wiped out the company. I did not know this when spent several thousand dollars on one of the best Maytag refrigerators a few years ago. I had nothing but problems with it, and literally had to fight with customer service while it was still under warranty. Needless to say, it only lasted 7 years before the compressor went out, which is roughly $1000 to fix. Kenmore here come...

Im told even though my fridge is leaking water and making sizzling sound nothing can be done and my model number and serial number match the recall for this product and I was told that if my fridge catches fire then, Call us but to me thats ridiculous.

I bought a new stainless steel Maytag refrigerator last year. It had a one-year warranty. Wouldnt you know, 14 months after my purchase, the icemaker stopped working. Did not take out the extended warranty, as I thought I had purchased a quality appliance. I contacted the store where I purchased it. Was told it would cost $150 to replace. I have a feeling this appliance wont last very long. Suffice it to say, I will never purchase another Maytag appliance.

Just after a year the bottom freezer began to build up frost. I had to thaw it every day. A repairman changed part and ran well for about 5 months when it started to frost up again. Again, I had to call a repairman in. $500.00 later, my fridge is working again. I am done with Maytag appliances. Never again!

This product was purchased in March. In September, the agitator broke off. Thats a new one on me with a washer. Every other one Ive bought tended to last 10 years or so, then something like a motor wore out. It was an obvious design flaw on a topheavy agitator held on by a flimsy plastic sleeve. To make matters worse, their warranty service seems mostly geared to selling extended warranties, necessitated by the poor quality and bad design of their products. So, for a mere $182, I can have it covered for the next six or seven times the agitator breaks. No thanks, Ill figure out how to fix it myself when its no longer under warranty, or just cut my losses by buying another machine, and never another Maytag or Whirlpool product. I had a similar experience with a Whirlpool refrigerator purchased in April 2017, which had a defective module that went fortunately just before it was out of warranty.

I have a Model MBF 1958XES4 which I bought from Home Depot in June of 2012. It has leaked repeatedly onto my wood floor. The water also collects and freezes on the floor of the freezer. I already have warped floor boards as a result. I just got it fixed. The repair person said he has done over 200 of these repairs in the last year. He also said Maytag knows its a defect and has supplied them with replacement parts. The company apparently tells its repair companies not to discuss this with their customers. I have yet to contact Maytag, although apparently from others experiences that will be futile. Im willing to join others in pursuing this. I had a 40 year old Kelvinator which was still working well which I replaced with this refrigerator when I redid my kitchen.

After my divorce, I bought a new house for my youngest son and me. It came without a fridge, so I used some of my settlement money to buy one I had been dying to get - stainless, French door, with bottom drawer freezer! It worked fine for the first 9 months or so. Then, water started pouring through the ceiling of my downstairs master bedroom. Turns out it was coming from the freezer water line. Ceiling tiles ruined, carpet stained. Then it started making this god awful noise. It starts, rumbles for a while (long enough to wake everyone up or give the dog a coronary), then is quiet for a while. Next, I open the freezer to find a sheet of ice across the bottom of the drawer. I assumed I had done something, so I got rid of it and thought nothing else of it. Last night, I get ready to make dinner and there is this blizzard of frost all over the freezer. It looks like a winter wonderland. I am afraid to see what is there when I go home and even more fearful to attempt to use my warranty.

Was coerced into purchasing this fridge three years ago. Told how Maytag is the highest quality fridge etc. From day one it was noisy and seemed to be running half the time. I had asked for a quieter fridge, partially why I paid $2000 for it. Now there is something wrong with it. Not sure what yet. But for $2000 it should not be failing three years later. My Samsung was quieter, 1/3 of the price and lasted at least 8 years. Thought about calling customer service but read too many bad experiences here in regard to that. Will never use Maytag again.

We purchased a bottom freezer refrigerator from the Home Depot in 2013 and I am sorry to say this refrigerator does not deserve any stars. Immediately after the warranty was up our refrigerator started leaking all over the floor. The drain clogged and freezes up on the bottom under the freezer. When it becomes full, it leaks all over my hardwood floor. I have now become a slave to this refrigerator. Each week I have to open the freezer and get down on my hands and knees to break up the ice, scoop it out, toss it in the sink. I have spread the word and I hope anyone who reads this does as well. Never buy a Maytag product because not only do they make defective products, they wont own up to it and recall it.

My Maytag Refrigerator Freezer model MFI2569VEM4 started leaking water into base under bottom freezer door. It then fills up and freezes into solid sheet of ice and overflows and leaks into floor. Paid $900 for this side by side stainless steel model 15 years ago. Pros: performance, appearance, simplicity. Cons: none. Only 1 minor repair, and the repairman said this is 1 of only 2 makes he recommends.

Have used for several years, no problems. Not even with ice maker. The black color is good and matches other appliances. I like the pull out drawer for freezer items. However, the filter is very hard to change but other than that everything ok.

On May 23, 2009, I purchased a Maytag bottom mount refrigerator even though I knew that Maytag had many problems with this product and others. I innocently thought that by the year 2009, all their problems would have been taken care of - I was wrong. On April 2, 2011, the freezer part of the refrigerator was not defrosting. I had to make a service call to replace the control board. On March 3, 2013, the regular part of the refrigerator was not cooling. I had to make a service call to replace the control board.Complaining to Whirlpool is a waste of time. The best answer I have received is, I am sorry. There is no end to the garbage Whirlpool is manufacturing and by my experience they dont care. Why dont we, the consumers, hire a lawyer and start a class action suit to let Whirlpool know we are fed up with being ripped off?

Maytag MFD2561 - The metal piece between our French doors is also rusting. It is a design flaw. We also have a GE French door refrigerator and that piece on it is not metal!

In August of 2009, we had an opportunity to remodel our kitchen plus add new windows and doors. How exciting! SO we had put down new flooring in our kitchen that matched our oak cabinets and since we had a little money saved, we wanted to purchase new appliances to match. We purchased a Maytag side by side with ice and water in the door. It also had the fingerprint resistant stuff on the outside. It cost about $1300. You buy name brand so they will last a while but here we are November 12, 2014, 7 years later and the compressor goes out. If repaired, it will cost $8090 to fix. Why do I want another Maytag. I purchased a Maytag side-by-side refrigerator in May 2010 to replace a 20-month-old Whirlpool fridge with a dead compressor. The now 14-month-old Maytag has a dead compressor. I have been told by the repairmen that I have come to know that the compressors used in these units are of poor quality and do not last. That must work out well for the appliance industry if consumers must replace a $1,000 + unit every year or two.To Maytags credit, I spoke to customer service and they agreed to cover the parts and labor for the repair even though it is two months past warranty. Maybe I can get another year out of this reliable appliance. I am told that all of the major brand appliances use the same compressor.

We purchased a Maytag Refrigerator-Freezer from Home Depot, in July, 2014. The first two months we had this appliance, it would not make ice (we purchased one that had an ice maker it the freezer!). After numerous calls to Home Depot and about 7 service visits, the service company gave up trying to get the ice maker to work, and instructed Home Depot to give us a replacement refrigerator. The new one came with an ice maker that works some better, but still very slow in making ice, and the new refrig makes a grinding noise every time we open the door. The Maytag Company, whose service people never have anything to do, say this is a cosmetic problem, and they refuse to fix it.Have been in consultation with Whirlpool Company (who bought out Maytag I assume), trying to get the appliance repaired... or at least put an end to the grinding noise. We paid a lot of money for this refrigerator freezer, and have had nothing but trouble and issues with it. If you are thinking about buying a Maytag refrigerator -- Dont!!

After a year or so my Maytag fridge is leaking, I followed instructions on how to remove ice clogging the drain pipe and fixed the problem. I see that this problem is going to repeat over and over again for the life of this unit, because of a poor design.The design fix will be to add a small heater (at the location where the ice creates the clog) actuated periodically by the control board, or at least with a manual push button for the user can easily remove press the button to melt the ice clogging the pipe. This is a cheap design which did not go through design validation and qualification.

We like the refrigerator and we have had it several years. But the thing the top freezer conceals much of the top rack of refrigerator. We must duck and almost kneel to get to food inside. Next fridge will have drawers and doors that open on both sides.

This will be the third repair of this refrigerator in one year, the same issue of the refrigerator warming up. Water all over the floor due to ice thaw. Also food spoilage. I want another refrigerator at this point. The Maytag repairman is definitely not lonely. He has more business than he can handle with this defective refrigerator. Terrible. Do Not Buy!!

We bought a Maytag refrigerator two years ago with the front french doors and bottom pull out drawer. We chose Maytag because we thought it was a name we could trust, a good quality merchandise. However, in the last two months, we started having problems when the fridge wouldnt stay cold, the freezer worked fine. We removed everything from the freezer and my husband found the freezer needed defrosting as the back of the unit was a solid sheet of ice. It took hours to defrost and we thought that we had the problem taken care of.. and that we wouldnt have to worry about this happening again. However, we have now had to do this three times in the last two months!! I love the style of this fridge..but am getting SO ANNOYED with having to rip everything out of the freezer and spending HOURS to defrost it! I have NEVER had this problem with any other fridge!! Im ready to replace it, but weve only had it for two years, and I shouldnt have to be spending a fortune on ANOTHER fridge after TWO years!!

Bought a Maytag bottom door refrigerator/freezer about 3 years ago and within 6 months had the bottom drawer ice freeze issue that is so common all over the internet. Today is the THIRD ** time Ive had to take this piece of crap product apart and clear the ice. For all of you who have contacted Maytag in the past... Ill bet you got the same response I did when the fridge was new. They claim there are NO KNOWN ISSUES. They actually told me they had NO RECORD of previous complaints with this issue. MAYTAG SUCKS! I wouldnt take a free appliance from them. Worst customer service possible and they take no responsibility for their ** design and problems. There should be a class action suit for this issue. IF ANYONE IS EVEN CONSIDERING A MAYTAG APPLIANCE... Do yourself a favor and think twice.

I bought a new refrigerator and when I plugged it in would not cool. I called and the authorized tech came and said the compressor was bad and the evaporator was rusted and hoses were greased up. I have now been informed that the warranty was void because it was put in a dental office and not a single home. I said since it was never used I would put it in a house. They said it was void and I was out of luck. I always thought maytag sold good products but this has convinced me to never buy a product from them again. It never worked and the tech said it should be replaced but they said he should never had told us this.

I bought a new refrigerator 6 weeks ago and it is not cooling or freezing anymore. I lost all my food. I spent 50 minutes on the phone to be told that the earliest they can fix it is in three days! Our Maytag refrigerator that is two years old has been nothing but issues just after the warranty expired. Ice maker is broken and it started having the temp alarm go off every few weeks and now every few days. It was a 1800 dollar purchase and no one has been helpful where we bought it nor has Maytag. Maytag has really gone downhill. Had trouble with a factory defect in a new French door Maytag refrigerator within a few months (had it returned) and now the Maytag Centennial EcoConserve Top Load Washer no longer spins after only just barely 2 years of use... I will NEVER buy Maytag again. That is a promise. I will put more money and buy more expensive products from your rivals if it means avoiding Maytag products. That is my advice to anyone reading this review. The washer was used for MAYBE 10 loads of laundry per month... Yes, just for two people who have desk jobs so It was never stressed out. Used HE laundry detergent. Quality is a thing of the past for this company. Your reputation is in the doghouse.

Very poor quality. Vegetables freeze at the back of the fridge I have tried everything. The vegetable drawer constantly comes off its track and the freezer door slide jams and stops the door from closing. It leaves about 1/2 inch gap. Now the Whirlpool/Maytag company changed their corporate policy and wont allow an appliance store that to come out and fix the fridge I have to go back to the manufacturer. Their website wouldnt take my email address when I tried to sign up for an account and they wont answer the phone. What a hassle. Ill buy another brand next time but never GE or Whirlpool again!

I bought my first Maytag French Door fridge about 7 years ago. When it was two it started running water on the floor. I paid a service guy to tell me a tiny little drain in the back clogged up and stopped coil defrost water from draining out. He fixed it. A year later, the fridge stopped cooling but the freezer was cold. I hired another service man who charged me a mint to diagnose that a fan that blows cold air up into the refrigerator failed. Rather than pay him again, I ordered the part. Heres the joke--the part wasnt available. An older part was substituted. Why? The first fan motor was small to make the energy start requirements--but it was too weak to be reliable. The new motor was an earlier model--almost twice as large and powerful. So much for Energy Start. At exactly 5 years and six months, the compressor went out. Im on year two with the new one. I said to myself they cant all be that bad. Now it is leaking on the floor. I have to disassemble the freezer, remove the inner wall, defrost the coils and clean out the drain hole. Wouldnt smart engineers make an easy way to do that from the back? Seems simple.

I innocently purchased cash from BrandsMart a Maytag French refrigerator MF12665XEM 7, serial #K22311026 in 06/30/2012 in Boca Raton, FL. I assumed I had bought the last fridge I would ever need because it was supposed to be a product that never needs servicing, according to the wide advertising of the bored Maytag repairmen. So I did not buy a warranty. This fridge is completely useless 3.5 years later and I do not have a leg to stand on, Maytag assures me. The only part thats still working is the compressor, which is also the only part that is warranted! Coincidence? What do you think? I cannot afford to replace it. I purchased my Maytag side by side refrigerator 11/2011 and by 3/2012 the compressor went out flooding my pool house floor. Maytag replaced the entire fridge because I was only a few months old. I bought the 2 year extended warranty, went down to the pool house (which has central heat and air) and the compressor has gone out again! The results leaving my baseboards molded! My warranty went out 3/17/2015 and Maytag is helping NONE! The only thing they have to say is you can buy a new repair one warranty for $363 to repair for one year. I have had this refrigerator for 3.5 years and now this is the second time its gone out! Customer service said, pool house is different than a regular kitchen. I told her that the pool house is 1,000 sq heated/cooled kitchen, bathroom, sitting room. Thats no different than some houses. Why would that make a difference?? My parents have a 30 year old fridge on the back porch thats still running! I will NEVER purchase another MAYTAG product! Stainless side by side with ice maker.

I also bought a Maytag refrigerator in 2013. Right after the warranty expired it was forming ice on the bottom and back of the freezer and was not making ice. I called Maytag and they told me they have no complaints on this type of refrigerator. It was also always making a lot of noise. Maytag was supposed to be the quiet one. I will never buy another Maytag product and I will do anything to make sure nobody else does either.

MTB2656DEB - Well my fridge is now about 12 years old and from the beginning it was horrible ice as always forming under freezer door. The cold cut draw broke 3 times with its cheap junkie plastic. I hated it from the beginning. I have owned a GE double door with ice maker for 26 years. Wish I had kept it.

1 year 4 month old fridge went out. Waited a month for part/repair. No help from customer service. $1200 fridge, $700, lots of angry calls, no luck. Customer service is horrible. Will never buy Maytag again. Someone suggested to take it to small claims court. Has anyone successfully done this? Any advice how to get my $700 back? Please email me **. Thanks.

Has anyone talked to an attorney to see if a class action can be filed? My fridge is leaking, sheets of ice on floor of freezer, and ice maker doesn’t work. Looks like it’s the norm for these. Please post if you have spoken with an attorney. If no one has, I am going to.

The circuit board on my seven year old Maytag French door refrigerator died. I called a repair company out to see if it could be repaired. He went to order the part and said that it was not available. Now I read a review from someone else saying that Maytag does not have parts for appliances that are over 6 years old. Thats ridiculous that after spending so much money on an appliance that parts are not available. I will never buy another Maytag appliance.

I love the functionality of this Maytag refrigerator. The inside is so nice and big, I can almost fit anything into it. When I need to make a lot of food for a lot of people, this refrigerator really foots the bill.

Its the worst experience I have ever had with any product. I grew up watching the Maytag man as a child and thinking that must be a top of the line product. Boy was I wrong. I went out six years ago when I purchased my new home and purchased for 1,550.00 a brand new refrigerator with side by side, and ice maker on the bottom, silver in color. It looked great, the quality was and is terrible. The freezer stopped freezing a couple of days after the first year was up. The Service department at Maytag is terrible, I called them for assistance and they were anything but helpful rude is a better word. Its been a nightmare! How could they ruin that good, or even great name of that product. Never will I buy a Maytag appliance again. I tell all of my friends as well. Oh yes so far as the leaking is concerned, my floor is damaged as well.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator (single-door) with a top-loading freezer that failed after four years. The freezer began to ice up and two repairmen from the company that does the extended warranty repairs in the Ottawa area were unable to figure out the problem. After the second visit, the freezer iced up again and the thermostat appeared to be failing. Even though we had an extended warranty, we just gave up and went to a different dealer to buy a new refrigerator that could be delivered within three days - and it wasnt a Maytag or any other of Whirlpools brands. If youre thinking of buying a Maytag refrigerator, you should reconsider. In fact, you should twice before buying anything made by Whirlpool.
