Maytag Refrigerador Garantia
Maytag home products include a range of powerful kitchen and laundry appliances and HVAC systems that are built to last. On the rare occasion that a broken machine derails your daily routine, you need a warranty to cover your Maytag product.
Manufacturer€s warranty € This warranty only covers appliances and electronics manufactured under a specific brand. For example, Maytag appliances or parts may be covered for several years under a Maytag manufacturer€s warranty.
Extended warranty € Manufacturers and third-party providers often offer extended warranties, which are extended service contracts that protect you after the Maytag appliance warranty expires.
Home warranty € This is a service contract that covers regular wear and tear of major home appliances regardless of brand name or age. It€s different than home insurance, as it doesn€t cover events that may damage an appliance. Instead, it€s meant to help pay for repairs that are anticipated in the long term.
Homeowners insurance € Homeowners insurance is a required form of insurance coverage that is specific to structural damage or property loss caused by theft, natural disasters, and specific occurrences.
LIMITED WARRANTY
For one year from the date of purchase, when this major appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, the Maytag brand of Whirlpool Corporation or Whirlpool Canada LP (hereafter €Maytag€) will pay for factory specified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service must be provided by a Maytag designated service company. This limited warranty is valid only in the United States or Canada and applies only when the major appliance is used in the country in which it was purchased. Outside the 50 United States and Canada, this limited warranty does not apply. Proof of original purchase date is required to obtain service under this limited warranty.
ITEMS EXCLUDED FROM WARRANTY
This limited warranty does not cover:
1. Service calls to correct the installation of your major appliance, to instruct you on how to use your major appliance, to replace or repair house fuses, or to correct house wiring or plumbing.
2. Service calls to repair or replace appliance light bulbs, air filters, or water filters. Consumable parts are excluded from warranty coverage.
3. Repairs when your major appliance is used for other than normal, single-family household use or when it is used in a manner that is contrary to published user or operator instructions and/or installation instructions.
4. Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, flood, acts of God, improper installation, installation not in accordance with electrical or plumbing codes, or use of consumables or cleaning products not approved by Maytag.
5. Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, chips, or other damage to the finish of your major appliance, unless such damage results from defects in materials or workmanship and is reported to Maytag within 30 days from the date of purchase.
6. Any food loss due to refrigerator or freezer product failures.
7. Costs associated with the removal from the home of your major appliance for repairs. This major appliance is designed to be repaired in the home and only in-home service is covered by this warranty.
8. Repairs to parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to the appliance.
9. Expenses for travel and transportation for product service if your major appliance is located in a remote area where service by an authorized Maytag servicer is not available.
10. The removal and reinstallation of your major appliance if it is installed in an inaccessible location or is not installed in accordance with published installation instructions.
11. Major appliances with original model/serial numbers that have been removed, altered, or cannot be easily determined. This warranty is void if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from your major appliance. The cost of repair or replacement under these excluded circumstances shall be borne by the customer

I purchased model number MF12067AEW in 10/07. Motherboard has been ordered to be replaced. I have been waiting 2 weeks for the board--all over the Xmas holidays without a refrigerator! We bought this model and paid $2,800 to have a counter-depth refrigerator. I will never by anything from Maytag again. We are holding our breath to see what the cost will be and if it will it break down again. We lost all the food in the top. Ice machine flap continued to pound open and shut all the time.

I have had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. It recently started leaking water on the floor and all over the bottom of the freezer. Repairman said it is a flaw with the defrost drain design. He thinks Maytag MIGHT have changed it since I purchased mine, but I dont know. Originally they used this small rubber valve;repairman said they get clogged very easily (even though I vacuum around it regularly and dont have any pets). He replaced that part with something sturdy that looks like a p trap. I looked online and there are loads of complaints about this exact issue with the defrost drain clogging. It cost $250 to have it repaired. I called Maytag to ask to be reimbursed and of course they will not do anything since it is out of warranty. Its a shame Maytag wont stand behind their products. Since there are so many of us with this issue, cant something be done?

I just want everyone to be aware that Maytag went bankrupt several years ago. They were bought out by another company that still puts the little Maytag sticker on, and all the products are made in Mexico. Apparently all the lawsuits wiped out the company. I did not know this when spent several thousand dollars on one of the best Maytag refrigerators a few years ago. I had nothing but problems with it, and literally had to fight with customer service while it was still under warranty. Needless to say, it only lasted 7 years before the compressor went out, which is roughly $1000 to fix. Kenmore here come...

Just got off the phone with Whirlpool Customer Care after getting the run around between parts and customer service for most of the morning. My issue is with the shelving on my MSF25D2EAS01 Maytag side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic surrounding the glass shelving is disintegrating and they are not admitting to a defective design only that the original part has been obsoleted and a new one is available for purchase (an over $300 expense to replace three shelves) on a unit that is just over 2 years old. I am willing to bet the old part has been replaced with a different design after they realized a substantial number of customer complaints. As an engineer, it is obvious to me that these shelves are poorly designed for their intended purpose, furthermore my work allows me to recommend appliance brands for large projects so I see no reason to recommend Whirlpool or any of its subsidiary brands (Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air) to any of our clients. Whirlpool quality and customer service is substandard and no better than any imported brand of appliances.

Bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in November 2012 for a cost of $1,647.48. In August 2013 it stops making ice day 1, stops cooling & it is running nonstop, all lights on display go out day 2. Called Home Depot & was given another number to call, called that number was told someone would be out next day to look at it. Also told my warranty would expire in November & I needed to buy another warranty. Maytag customer service was very rude. If their product was any good why do I have to pay extra for another warranty. A $1,647.48 refrigerator that only lasts 9 months, REALLY!!! Do not purchase Maytag appliances if you dont want to lose your money. Shame on Home Depot for not standing behind their merchandise. If you have a problem while warranty is in effect, Home Depot should replace product.

Bought a nice looking Maytag fridge 2 years ago. For the past 6 months it has been leaking all over the kitchen floor. Most recently it has started leaking every 2 days. It is so frustrating as well as extremely dangerous! Both my younger kids have slipped and fell because of the slippery floor. We now have to keep a towel there all the time.Please let me know if there is a product recall. Not the Maytag we used to have. My parents bought all their Maytag appliances when they got married and they lasted over 30 years! This is why I bought the Maytag fridge... not sure of the quality now.

I purchased my Maytag side by side Model No. MSB27C2XAM00 in August of 2013. Within a 2 Weeks the lettering was gone on the control panel for the ice and water dispenser. I contacted Maytag and they replaced it, but the next one did the same thing, and the next one! They replaced it three times and they have all done the same thing. Now they are refusing to do anything more because they say I must be using cleaner or something on the panel because I am the only one having an issue with this! I assure you I have not used any cleaner and there are only three people in my household so it doesnt even experience excessive usage! I know this problem isnt as extreme as some, but when you pay this much money for an appliance you would like to think it should last longer than this!

Shame on Maytag! Customer Service is appalling! Paid 2500 for one of their top of the line refrigerator/freezer and had the repair people 5 times in one year. It was determined that it is a bad model number that Maytag wont recall but knows it is faulty. Started with ice build up in freezer making it sound like a plane taking off. It kept running trying to defrost (energy efficient-right). The repairman put in a request to have the product replaced based on symptoms and freezer being at 26 degrees. We had to wait five business days for Maytag to review it. I have a family and was having guests. They told me to buy a dorm refrigerator and they would send me a small credit towards it in 4 to 6 weeks. They finally agreed to replace the known faulty model, but I have to wait for the exchange team to contact me (2 weeks later). I keep calling and leaving messages but cant get the exchange team to even return my calls. I have my sons graduation this weekend and I dont have a freezer and my refrigerator is faulty with all my vegetables rotting within two days. It also took two days to originally get someone in management to call me back (even though it did no good - she cant help me). You cannot talk to management if you call customer service. They downright refuse! What a company!

It is now the first week of June 2017 and the ice dispenser no longer works and the door alarm goes off incessantly and intermittently all day and all night. I am so sick of being woken up by the alarm in the middle of the night. I reread the manual and ran through the limited troubleshooting to no avail. I called customer service, sat on hold for a half hour, and scheduled a service call. As an interim stopgap for the pull-my-hair-out alarm issue, the operator suggested I disconnect some wires, as there is no off button for the door alarm. I wasnt dumb enough to do that and void my warranty. Best part of the call was when the operator offered to sell me an extended warranty. Well see how the service appointment goes, but I have a feeling this is the last Maytag product I will ever get. I am very curious about the lack of product recall as my research unveiled hundreds of complaints about the exact same issues I am having. He checked it out and said its not serviceable because theres a leak somewhere in the casing. Had to call KYW 3, On Your Side, they helped me get some progress. Jacqueline from corporate called and said they would replace it. It started on July 3 and now August 13 and still no fridge. Had my Maytag washer fixed, small problem. Parts came in a box marked Whirlpool for a Maytag washer from a Sears Warehouse. Plus the mechanic said my Maytag refrigerator is made by Amana. Buy American?

In February 2014, the ice maker stopped working again. I contacted Maytag and was told the refrigerator was no longer in warranty. I told them that since the ice maker was replaced in September the warranty should have covered me for a year from that date. The Maytag representative told me that was not had it worked and asked if I wanted them to repair the item for a fee. I bought a non-Maytag ice maker and replaced it myself. It is now July 2015 and the ice maker is still working fine. I am not a repairman.

This product should be on recall. Maytag fridge. Freezer door on bottom filling up with water. We have 2 of them doing this. One about 15 years old. Other one is 3 yrs old. Maytag knows of the problem but wont fix it. Wont recall their default product.

Maytag French door, bottom freezer - Water accumulating on the freezer drawer gasket. After a short period of time, mold forms which is a potential health hazard. We asked Maytag to look at the problem. So far, 3 service people have come around - each one with a solution, but none have been successful. I called Maytag again and left messages on two different occasions, and they have yet to get back to me. Am I on the blacklist? This I know for sure - this is the last Maytag product to ever get in to my house again. If anyone has a solution to our problem, we would love to hear from you.

Weve had 2 Maytag washers that lasted a combined 41 years. Five years ago we purchased a Bravos XL top load washing machine directly from Whirlpool. Like many other reviews, it is impossible to keep the machine from going out of balance and trying to tear the laundry room apart. I called Maytag and of course they want to make sure the machine is level in at least 3 dimensional space as well as 2 parallel dimensions per String Theory. As far as the 3 dimensions, I assured them I had already thought of this (as an aside, ever try to find any flat metal on one of these machines? Kind of helps when using a level.)So after more exciting conversation, they offered me a Warranty for $437. While trying to control my laughter, I said I could trash the Bravos and buy a new machine for that price. As far as repairing it, it cost $120 for a repairman to grace my door step plus $35 every 15 minutes plus parts -- again, the decision is to trash it and buy a new machine. In case I was too subtle in my comments, I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Im too frustrated to tell you about my KitchenAid fridge. As much as I detest it, I am forced to join the buy and trash 5 year club . Sometimes the good old days were really better.

Fridge model mff2055drm00 - Purchased 2 years ago. Upon delivery and working water leaked from bottom. Called recommended service. Result took out fridge and brought in another new one. Today the fridge/freezer ices up, ends up sounding like a rocket ship. Not working efficiently. Called for authorized service. Was told needed a new thermostat... after TWO Years? Service call price $125, quote to purchase, replace and install thermostat $550. Almost $700. Big mistake buying Maytag- who knew? But never again! We are quite angry and very disappointed with the mediocre performance of this product.

We bought a bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator a little over a year ago and have nothing but problems with it. It leaks and has ruined my hardwood floors. The lift lid for the meat and cheese broke. I have had other refrigerators with kids at home for 10-12 years and never had these problems. It is just my husband and me now so I know it does not get the abuse other refrigerator that were different brands received. I would never buy another Maytag refrigerator. I have been so disappointed with the product and the service. I read some other reviews and have to agree that Maytag could care less about their customers. I now notice that there is such a build-up of ice under the freezer drawer that it wont even close properly. I, like all the other consumers that have complained am fuming mad. I purchased the Maytag brand because of its great reputation for quality products. However, this is totally unacceptable that I should be having issues with this refrigerator less than 3 years later. M1BXXLZYB00 - This is the worst appliance I have ever owned and I am 56 years old. Very noisy, freezes my produce and actually anything in the refrigerator. Yet the freezer wont freeze popsicles. Had 2 service calls on the fan and or fan motor in the first 6 months. Now 2 years later we have replaced 2 compressors and had to pay 200.00 labor to have installed. Now the compressor is out again not even 30 days after the first 2. Whirlpool wants to send another compressor and the poor repair guys are suppose to do it for free now because it is within the 30days. The offered me to buy another refrigerator with prices of 699.00 and 519.00. My fridge in the garage is way more dependable than this one and I have had for 10 plus years with no problem.

Is a very common problem with these refrigerators and Maytag is happy to pay for the new part to fix it, but will not pay for any person to fix it. They have known this is a problem for a while, but will do nothing to fix it. They clearly do not stand behind their product with a known ongoing problem. The Maytag repairman is no longer not busy. Maytag has been aware of this for over 1yr from customer reviews. I went to consumer affairs.com and there are numerous complaints on products/customer service. I have been asking for a replacement door since Feb. On Sept. 7th I cut the palm of my hand on sharp edge, drew blood, no stitches but I was very upset. Called Maytag, transferred to the safety dept. sent out service tech. He reported that it was a safety issue, very sharp edge, he had to put duct tape on corner to prevent any more injuries! He requested that new doors(freezer&refrigerator door) only be sent, I do not want/need the whole unit replaced. Freezer door has sharp edge also. I have numerous emails to/from corporate office begging since Feb. for a new doors so that this would not happen! Maytags solution is to buy back refrigerator or I should pick another model. Neither is a solution for me. I picked this model for a reason. I asked them to provide me with the simplest solution which is to contact factory where it is made, red flag it, talk to manager, quality control check to see that there are no sharp edges before it is shipped to me. They refuse to do that 1 simple common courtesy, customer service request! They cannot guarantee that door will come without a sharp edge! My model is not the only 1 with this problem. I talked to salesman & model in store has sharp edge & in the reviews the same model had sharp edge which was submitted over 1yr ago! So Maytag has been aware of this safety issue for some time now but chooses to do nothing about it! I chose Whirlpool because of the name, I thought it stood for quality & above all excellent customer service. Was I wrong, found that out thru numerous phone/email conversations. They just dont care! Is it too much to ask Maytag to give me a refrigerator with no safety issues?!!! I have talked to Aaron in the corporate office, he was no help at all. His # 866-817-5404 ext **. I have all the emails to/from him. Please help, I want this same refrigerator, only model that would work for me. Now that I have had personal injury & have spent so much time/effort, aggravation since Feb. trying to have them do the right thing I feel that I am due monetary compensation. Bottom line this complaint is concerning a safety issue & horrible customer service from the call center to corporate offices! The Maytag name isnt what it used to be known for, quality & service.

Had a problem with the control circuit board on my 6 year old refrigerator. Had it serviced and found that the problem was common, the main circuit board needed to be replaced. The service person advised me it wasnt currently available from his supplier. I call Maytag and they said it was back ordered from their parts source. When asked for an availability date, I was told the date was unknown? I started a search for the circuit board and found it was indeed a problem for many many other consumers who owned this model refrigerator. Lesson learned: Maytag is no longer a good brand to own.

He ended up telling me what exactly the problem was, & there were about 5 people ahead of me with the same fridge, & same problem... all main compressor problems. Check this out. Then in May 2011, we had to replace another control board for about $400. Then in July 2011, the compressor went out at a cost of $300 for the compressor, $350 for labor. I called to Maytag, Gwen agreed to pay for the compressor but not the labor to put it in. So we now have about $1400 invested in our $2200 refrigerator. I have an MSD2542VEB01 model refrigerator purchased slightly over two years ago. I have the same problem as many others, which is the plastic breaking on the shelves. The first time, it was within a year and the part was under warranty. It is now a year and a half later and one is broken beyond use and another is cracking again. Maytag refuses to help me as there is no “recall and the plastic is not available separately from the easily removable glass of the shelf. The least expensive price that I can find for the shelf is $107 and I need two of them. $214 (plus shipping) when all I need is two pieces of plastic? Be very careful when selecting your appliances.

Every week I have to get out large beach towel to lay under the pull out drawer, break up the built up ice and then pull it out onto the towel. I too called Maytag who said it was out of warranty. Now today I notice a significant temperature drop in the refrigerator and freezer. Whats odd is that the day before yesterday the freezer was so cold the ice cream was solid as a rock. I purchased a French Door, Bottom Freezer refrigerator in the summer of 2006. Less than 3 years later, the ice maker door kept opening and closing and the lights on the door panel kept flashing. I called Maytag and found out there was a problem with the circuit board, and that it was under recall. The refrigerator was fixed at no charge and I was happy. Approximately 2-1/2 months ago, less than 7 years after I bought the fridge, it started getting too cold inside and then too warm and then too cold, etc. Then it stopped cooling altogether. From what I read, it was either a problem with the compressor or the relay on the compressor. There was a recall on the relay on some models, but not on mine. I cant even afford a service call. Let alone a repair charge. If the compressor is the problem, Im looking at a repair bill in the hundreds of dollars. The online price for a compressor is over $300. I dont have the money. So the beautiful refrigerator that I paid $2,000 for sits in the kitchen, unplugged. I never figured that Id pay that kind of money for a refrigerator and have 2 major problems with it in less than 7 years. I just got off the phone with Maytag and, of course, they cant do anything to help me. I was hoping to never buy another refrigerator, but if I have to or if I have to buy any other appliance, I will never ever buy another Maytag or Whirlpool. I will post everywhere I can about my experiences with this refrigerator.

I called to get it serviced and it took 4 months to get a repairman to check it out. He fixed one part and then ordered another part that he needed which took 3 months to get. After he replaced that part the refrigerator continued to have problems. The serviceman has been out to repair my unit 6 times so far. He has no confidence in the Service Engineers from Maytag. They recommended yet another part be replaced, however now Maytag will not cover the parts cost.They offered to let me buy a new fridge at a discount. After spending about $2700 in August 2013, I dont have the $ to spend again for a refrigerator. My refrigerator is so loud it has been waking me up for about a month now and I am sick and tired of it. Shame on Maytag for having such terrible customer service! I will never ever ever recommend a Maytag because this has been a nightmare!

Not even 3 months later I was using my warranty to stop the leak from my freezer now. Mind you, I paid $1500 so I got it fixed. 3 months later I called for repair again... Getting annoyed because this time the freezer came off track. 6 months later were chopping ice chunks up to stop the leaking on the floor. This lasted until last October keeping towels and old clothes around the fridge to soak up the water. This is so embarrassing especially if you have company over. I called Maytag and they offered me a Repair Plus One package of $302.73! Are you kidding? We paid $400.00 for fridge. Then of course, only one-year warranty and have to pay at least $75 for a service call, labor plus parts! If it’s the compressor, the charge is $326.20, plus shipping and handling! What a joke! They called service repair. 1-8-20 - Service Repair here and ordered 2 thermostats: 1 for freezer and 1 for refrigerator. 1-15-20 - Service Repair here to install 2 thermostats - At this time I purchased the extended warranty for $119.30 for 3 years.3-1-21 - Control Panel completely went out again. I called Whirlpool - on hold exactly 1 hour before they answer phone. I am so pissed. They call Service Repair. 3-3-21 - Service Repair here. They order new Control Panel. States these panels are continuously going out and they are having to replace them everywhere. 3-12-21 - I called Service Repair since we havent heard anything. ETA on control panel from Whirlpool is not scheduled until 3-19. I am really pissed by now.In the meantime I have been on hold with Whirlpool for 47 minutes. At exactly 1 hour being on hold, they answer my call. Im told I have to wait. There is nothing they can do. I told her we were buying ice every other day at $10.07 for 2 20# bags and they wont replace money. Told me to throw my items away and they would replace all the food for $250.00 one time during the 3 year contract period. The service is Customer service on their contract is terrible. Waiting for parts is even worse. This is a piece of crap appliance and we will never buy another Maytag.

We were told that it would take 3 weeks to get the replacement part, which was only 45 days old. Home Depot, where I had bought it, has been great; and they pushed Maytag/Whirlpool to agree to replace it. But Home Depot cannot not get us a new one until the paperwork comes from Maytag. We were told by their customer service that it would take 4 working days just to process the paperwork! Thats working days, and this is a Friday! So now, theyve all left for the weekend, and I still have no refrigerator and no idea when I will get one! They said no to getting the part faster, no to speeding up the paperwork, no to me returning it and getting a refund, and no to providing me with a rental. Please consider this when making any new appliance purchase.

After another Freon charge 7 days later, the fridge will freeze ice only in a manual ice tray. The water in the ice maker for whatever reason will not freeze? To make matters even worse, the freezer fan has been noisy for the last year. Maytags solution is to purchase extended warranty for $300 plus or hire repair person at $100 for first hour. A 36 month old refrigerator is in essence a disposable item. Basically for a $700 fridge… that breaks down to about $20.00 per month service charge and then it’s time to replace!

The engineers at Maytag saved a few pennies by only using one thermistor for temperature control. It is in the box. There is nothing monitoring the temperature in the freezer. If you put your fridge in the garage where the temp is 40 degrees, the motor will never come on, and your frozen foods will melt! In my new MRT118FFFZ01 unit, the temperature in the box varies by plus or minus 3 degrees F, but the freezer varies from minus1 1 to plus 25 degrees F. 36 degrees difference! Lousy design. Have had two service calls, and they both said that this was the way it was designed and there is no fix for it.

Last night, I get ready to make dinner and there is this blizzard of frost all over the freezer. It looks like a winter wonderland. The ice partially melts for some reason, and then water leaks out at both bottom corners, usually once a day. Others have reported the same problem. Contact with a repair person is yet to be done. This must represent a factory defect.

Regular repairs, low quality construction and a cheap finish which looks tacky and is also difficult to clean would each be deal breakers. We purchased our full-sized, side by side Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer gently used from a private party who needed to obtain different models due to a remodel of their laundry/utility room. We paid about $600 for the pair.

He then told me everything was perfectly alright, the noise was normal for a Maytag, and that I was going to get used to it.Needless to say, he had a totally condescending attitude. Its the first time I ever bought a Maytag. Previously, I had a General Electric that was noisy but not as much as the new Maytag. Prior to that, I had a good old Kenmore that was perfectly alright but that I had to give away for other reasons. We spent more money to get a good product and ended up with junk. We are getting rid of it and buying one that is made by a company that knows what they are doing.

I was told that the vent/chute between the freezer and fridge ices up and prevents the cold air from the freezer to go through the fridge. The tech said that Maytag was sending him a tube of silicone to apply all around freezer and fridge and that this will probably fix the problem. So in other words, because of a design flaw, the refrigerator cannot function without adding silicone (maybe). I believe I purchased a lemon with a design flaw and they want me to accept a permanent band-aid as the solution. Shouldnt I have right to demand another model instead of having to accept a cheap alternative (silicone)? Now, if factory installed parts break off, can you imagine silicone tubed in after the fact where there was no silicone crevasse? I cant imagine it staying on - permanently.

I bought my first Maytag French Door fridge about 7 years ago. When it was two it started running water on the floor. I paid a service guy to tell me a tiny little drain in the back clogged up and stopped coil defrost water from draining out. He fixed it. A year later, the fridge stopped cooling but the freezer was cold. I hired another service man who charged me a mint to diagnose that a fan that blows cold air up into the refrigerator failed. Rather than pay him again, I ordered the part. Heres the joke--the part wasnt available. An older part was substituted. Why? The first fan motor was small to make the energy start requirements--but it was too weak to be reliable. The new motor was an earlier model--almost twice as large and powerful. So much for Energy Start. At exactly 5 years and six months, the compressor went out. Im on year two with the new one. I said to myself they cant all be that bad. Now it is leaking on the floor. I have to disassemble the freezer, remove the inner wall, defrost the coils and clean out the drain hole. Wouldnt smart engineers make an easy way to do that from the back? Seems simple.

Our 26 month old Maytag fridge (Model MFF2258VEM8) was the french door freezer on bottom modern style fridge. The freezer stopped working. The repair shop took the fridge away and repaired a leak (quality control issue) and then the compressor failed in a test. They wanted $700 to make a repair that would have a 90 day warranty about 1/2 the cost of the fridge. Maytag was contacted at multiple levels and they would not even provide a free compressor or provide a substantial discount on a new fridge. What a way to treat a customer who once had all major Maytag appliances in our home. We decided to get a GE Profile fridge and are very happy with it. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. I dont think it is the great company it once was years ago.

We have a model MF12269VEMS. Approx 3 years old. Ice maker and water dispenser work great. Fridge works well. We have experienced over the last 6 months a buildup of ice that forms inside the freezer under the drawers. If we dont catch it every 4-5 days we cannot open the drawers as the ice catches the bottom plastic drawers. I called Maytag directly and the pleasant young lady told me after checking that it did not seem to be an issue...clearly after looking into the internet I am not alone! Maybe someone can email me a fix?

I even selected a model that did not have any ice in door or water in door that are prone to problems. In the 8 years I owned it, I had a serviceman to my place at least 4 times and dumped around $600 into it! Today the final straw... the compressor went! I will NEVER buy a Maytag again!

Side by side refrigerator model #msd255oveu01. I bought this refrigerator Apr. 2011... The 1st year, the ice kept sticking in machine or freezing up. Now they have had to replace the modules 3 times. Once fall of 2012 and and again yesterday, 3/19/14 and they had to come back today to replace that one. I have called Maytag and they wont stand behind it since the warranty is over. I have told them that this is an ongoing thing with the ice maker and I have had to have it serviced ever since I have bought it. I told them from the git go that the ice maker needed replace. The ice dispenser also drops an ice cube on the floor on occasion and if I use crushed ice it jams up. This product is defective and is not a good product.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator (freezer on top) model m1txegmyw00 in May 2012 and the compressor recently failed roughly 3 months from the two-year mark. We first noticed the issue this winter when the bottom level of the fridge start freezing our food. We adjusted the internal temperature setting down, but this did nothing. Then the compressor started cycling on/off for roughly 5 minutes at a time. After we noticed that, the freezer no longer kept things frozen. We called the Maytag repairman ($80 including taxes just to visit). He said the compressor is gone and that They dont make them like they used to. - I thought he was joking. He also recommended getting a servicing contract on a new fridge (but I would expect that from a serviceman). The cost to replace the compressor was over $600 and their work is only guaranteed on that part for 3 months (so anything else in the fridge could go wrong). I asked if we could have avoided this - he said it was possible that if we had unplugged the fridge for 10 minutes when we noticed the on/off cycling, it might have given the fridge time to reset (so take that for what it is worth). Our previous fridge lasted over 8 years - I dont understand how Maytag (owned by Whirlpool) can sell a high ticket item that will work for less than two years. I will not be purchasing another one.

MBL2258XES1 - Like most of the other reviewers, we have a Maytag refrigerator just 3 years old with a lower freezer that leaks water onto the floor -- and has been doing it for the last two years. We have to take the freezer apart (NOT easy), defrost it, take the back panel off, and clear the drain tube. Obviously a defective design! Cant believe Maytag hasnt done something about this!

We bought a new Maytag fridge in 2013, french doors, ice maker on the bottom. In 2 years we have replaced the control panel on the front door 3 times. Each time the plastic panel cracks and breaks free. The last time they replaced the entire door, all on warranty. Well 3 months later it does the exact same thing. I call Maytag and they say, fridge is past its warranty period so no coverage. It will cost me about $600 to replace this control panel.

On Saturday 12/9/17 freezer wasnt freezing, then fridge was clicking on and off. Unplugged it, called repair service, it was the compressor. $800.00 to fix it, the same amount as when we purchased it. Repair service told us to call Maytag, he said, Maybe they will help you, would not help at all. Talked to Lori, all she said was warranty is up after a year, I then said, I think a refrigerator should last longer than 3 years! Will never buy anything Maytag again! Yes Maytag does SUCK!!!

We have been cleaning up puddles of water at least several times a day. I see that this is not an isolated problem, as others have complained about this defect doing the same thing with their Maytag refs. Why hasnt ConsumerAffairs demanded a recall on these expensive defective refrigerators to date? I am truly disgusted.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # MSF25D2EAS on 10-22-2012 at the Home Depot in Tracy, CA. On 2-2-2014 (15 months) we noticed a puddle on the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, we noticed that the refrigerator was not working. Went over to Home Depot and were given the name and number of the authorized Maytag repair dealer (A and E). The technician arrived on 2-5-2014 and replaced the compressor on-off /overload relay and charged $243.82. On 2-16-2014 (11 days later), the same thing happened again. The technician came on 2-19-2014. This time, it was the compressor at a cost of $800.00 plus the $75.00 service call. One can purchase the compressor online for $300.00 and I am sure that A and E buys it for a lot less. We thought about it and decided not to get it fixed because we did not know what else would go wrong and how long would the second compressor last. We talked to the Appliance Departments assistant manager and were told that Home Depot does not give any kind of consideration and she had worked there for 11 years and had not heard of any problems. She was not telling the truth or she was not aware of the numerous negative customer reviews online. She also informed me that I should have bought a warranty. We have bought quite a few refrigerators in 50 years and they lasted for many years. Home Depot sells inferior products. Maytag must sell these inferior products at discounted prices and of course, some stores are looking for larger profits. I do not trust Home Depot any longer and will not purchase appliances there anymore. It was a very expensive lesson - the price of the refrigerator, loss of food (twice) and the stress it caused. We bought a new refrigerator at Sears and it was not a MAYTAG.

My refrigerator is a lemon! We bought a Maytag bottom freezer French door refrigerator model #MFD2561HEW in May of 2007. Less than a year later, it stopped working and ruined all the food inside. I cant remember the problem that time, but it was fixed by Maytag and we were reimbursed for a portion of the food we lost. Two years later, the temperature got warm in the refrigerator and freezer sections, and we were gone for a couple of days, so when we got home, all of our food was spoiled. This time we had an extended warranty in effect and they replaced a circuit board, but we were out the food. A few months later, the same thing happened. This time we were home and saved most of the food. The compressor was replaced, again under warranty, but it took 2 weeks to get the part. Now, less than a year later, the freezer and refrigerator compartments are getting too warm and frost is forming in the back of the freezer. When it finally does get cool, it freezes the food in the refrigerator section. It also makes loud bumping sounds. I paid $80 to a repairman today to tell me that theres nothing wrong with it, thats just the way it runs! He suggested I put a gallon of milk jugs filled with water in the freezer to hold the temperature when it starts to rise! This piece of junk is just 5 years old! When I complained, I was told to call Maytag and discuss it with them. This refrigerator was not cheap and I see that many others have had similar problems. How do they get away with selling an inferior product?

This is about my model MFI2569VEB2 refrigerator. It has French doors with bottom pull-out freezer, refrigerator door ice and filtered water dispenser. The delivery person installed the fridge and took off outside plastic and left inside plastic in. It froze everything until I took out the inside plastic. Within the first year, water started shooting out of the top of the fridge. A rubber connector for the icemaker, which was on top of the fridge, had broken. Within 18 months, it freezes everything in the refrigerator, even on the warmest setting. I have to leave it unplugged each night. The icemaker gets big chunks of ice stuck to it and wont let ice out. On top of all of that, the water from the fridge door pours out extremely slowly, this just how they are built.I will have to fix the thing myself and eat the expenses, so to speak. I bought the Maytag because Samsung had poor reviews. No matter how fancy you want your refrigerator to be, and how nice you want it to look in your kitchen, stick to the basics. The fewer bells and whistles, the more reliable.

We have not even fully paid it off, as we bought with credit at Home Depot, and it continuously leaks water from freezer! I have taken everything out, defrosted, spent about two hours pushing hot water through the freezer drain with a turkey baster and it was only about four days before I had a puddle on my floor again! I bought this Maytag refrigerator model MF 12269FRB00. It is not, user friendly, meaning that condiments and small bottles just dont fit conveniently in any space, The biggest issue is the ice maker. The ice maker shoots ice out on each and every attempt. Every time you want ice you are guaranteed to have ice shoot out of your glass on to the floor. I often challenge my guests to get ice without the cubes shooting out of the glass. No one has ever won. Dont buy this piece of crap, unless you find humor in having ice on your floor every time. Shout out to Grays Appliance in Melrose for selling crap! I will never buy from them or Maytag again. To the engineers who designed this product, you suck too!

My freezer has been leaking from the bottom for a few months and now the icemaker has quit working as well. The refrigerator has been purchased less than two years ago. The warranty is expired. I will not fix this refrigerator, as it is a gigantic piece of junk. However I would like to be compensated by Maytag at least 1/3 of the price so I can have it removed from my house before it creates more damage to my floors and subfloors.
