2 Year old washer. First the actuator was replaced. A 150.00 charge. Two months later the pump is shot. Another 200,00 to replace the pump. This is worst piece of ** washer I have owned. I would not recommend to anyone. Stay away. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

This washer ( MHW3505FW) leaks, is crazy loud, water wont drain, clothes smell bad after washing, defective drain pump, defective mother board. Only had 2 1/2 months and it broke. Maytag refused to refund me and Lowes refused as well. Thankfully I paid by credit card. Am disputing the charge. Terrible washer should be recalled. Many complaints on this washer. Very disappointed and upset.

I purchased a set of Bravos 4 months ago and what a bad purchase! I wish I would have researched here first. Being environmentally concerned, I bought it because it was supposed to be high efficiency and low water usage. My clothes are being destroyed by this machine. They come out in a massive tangled ball, covered in ink and animal hair (after a wash or two, they are completely embedded into the fibers). Sometimes there are dry spots after I take a load out of the washing machine. No idea how that could happen. It torn my favorite sweater, ripped sheets, bore a hole in a towel, ripped pillows, and DOESNT EVEN CLEAN! I have to wash my clothes twice MANY times to get the dirt out which doesnt bode well for energy efficiency. Im calling them again today to try and get them returned for advertising that they will save me money. Not even close! They are a rip off! I gave my 35 year old set away and wish I had it back! Maytag is JUNK!!!

Bought this stove in 2011. 9 months ago I had a 300$ repair for fuses to two out of the five stove top burners. Several days ago the ovens were not lighting and I called for repair again. Well the ignition switch in the lower oven had a frayed wire from the factory which created an issue with the control panel. Today I was quoted 600$ to repair the ignition switch and the main control board. PARTS ONLY. I am not repairing this stove. Called Maytag due to the issue of a defective ignition switch wire and got nowhere. Very poor quality product.

I bought a Maytag washer expecting To get the best and have already had Service on it three times and it still isn’t working. I innocently purchased cash from BrandsMart a Maytag French refrigerator MF12665XEM 7, serial #K22311026 in 06/30/2012 in Boca Raton, FL. I assumed I had bought the last fridge I would ever need because it was supposed to be a product that never needs servicing, according to the wide advertising of the bored Maytag repairmen. So I did not buy a warranty. This fridge is completely useless 3.5 years later and I do not have a leg to stand on, Maytag assures me. The only part thats still working is the compressor, which is also the only part that is warranted! Coincidence? What do you think? I cannot afford to replace it. Neither can I afford to fix it.It started with water from the lower freezer pouring out on the kitchen floor. The next few days the cooling element in the upper fridge went, followed by the inability of the fridge to make ice. Then the freezer at the bottom went completely. This appliance was well cared for by me, personally, ever since I bought it. In a week, it was totally gone (with the exception of the compressor). It has been inspected by accredited appliance repairmen who have told me it is gone! Gone? $2200 gone? I am a widow living on SS, now with no fridge. I bought this appliance with what I made from the sale of my house, when they couldnt give them away in 2012. I need a fridge! This is South Florida and temps even now are in the 90s F. We bought a Maytag French Door 21 cu. ft. refrigerator in 2008. 2010, 3 repairs later, the ice machine went out, we went back to ice trays. Now the compressor died. The old ad of bored Maytag repairmen cause they never need repairs is bogus.

I purchased a floor model Maytag Dishwasher from Abt electronics about a year and a half ago. 2 months ago, various light started flashing. Somehow I managed to get it going. Some blogs reported it might be a drainage problem. Others suggested pressing a certain sequence of buttons. After Each time I got it to work, it became harder the next. I bought Maytag because my old dishwasher lasted 13 years. What is interesting is that a company whose name Ive forgotten sent me bimonthly requests to purchase a warranty from them. Now they have stopped. I am a single mom of 3 with an unemployed ex. I work and support my family without any assistance. I count every penny. I cannot afford repairs nor a replacement now or any time soon. This is a travesty.My door says 10-year limited warranty and the delineates stainless steel tub and racks and chopper blade, but not the panel. I do not understand how Maytags denial of the problem and their unwillingness to correct the problem can improve their image. I will never purchase from Maytag or its associated companies ever again. What a scam! To be honest though, I have not contacted the company since it is not under warranty and all the blogs have relayed the same message: Maytag denies there is a problem.

I purchased an Atlantis washer in 2005 and assumed that Maytag was still one of the better manufacturers. How naive of me! What genius at Maytag thought it was a good idea to place the water filter inside the washer? Not only can you not keep the filter clean so that cold water will flow properly, even worse, if the filter completely clogs, the water will not stop filling into the tub which could, of course cause an overfill and flood. I narrowly escaped this scenario once. No one should have to stand and watch their machine fill with water to insure it stops. Now the machine is causing a grinding noise when agitating. I expect it to stop working any day. I will not buy another Maytag or Whirlpool, who of course now owns Maytag. And I will not pay another repair bill for the filter or any other part. The brand was once considered the best in America, now its just another brand thats a piece of junk produced in another country.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos XL last month and within two weeks, we were noticing a BAD odor every time we used the machine. In fact, I just walked back into our house from outside and the entire house smells like old dirty dishwater and the smell is coming from the laundry room! This is a very expensive washing machine and we bought it because we thought that a Maytag would be better than the Whirlpool that just died after many years of repairs and aggravation. After reading these reviews, I wish I had bought a Speed Queen.

Maytag Bravos XL Washer & Dryer - After a long 45-year use of our old GE W./D. that were still working fine when we decided it was finally time to upgrade. Big mistake. Nothing but dissatisfaction on every level of complaints by those who registered here before us and then some. This all was noticed almost immediately after purchase, but we lived with it trying not to believe our worse fears. That is until we both started breaking out with skin rashes. Just logged on this site after a Google search... We were shocked and disappointed in our purchase decision. We will join in a class action lawsuit if ever one is initiated... We purchased this brand new Maytag dishwasher (Model MDB7749) from Home Depot July 30, 2013. Now a little more than 18 months after purchase the control panel is out. Some lights blink, several go on at the same time. Tried resetting by removing then reinserting power plug (that worked once before, a couple of months ago,) but nothing works. Pretty much the same defect and problem I am seeing with other folks with these Maytag dishwashers. I saw online that a Sears outlet was selling these same model Maytag units for 48% off...Well, now I know why. My older Maytag appliances lasted many years. My Maytag washing machine was replaced two years ago, and it had lasted 14 years. I guess they simply do not build them like they used to. I should of just bought a cheaper model for 3-400 bucks, would of got the same use out of it. Does anybody know of a brand and model dishwasher today that is reasonably priced, dependable and has some longevity to it? I will call for service on this, but Im not spending hundreds of dollars on a defective engineering flaw, throwing good money after bad. Besides, the repair would probably only give me a 30-90 day warranty anyway. Learned my lesson. I will never buy another Maytag product again...Ever. Also I see now that they are part of Whirlpool, so they are out too. Anybody have any suggestions on a good replacement unit? Thanks...

The problem with this dryer (MGD7230HW) is the sensors for drying time dont work. The dryer keeps going even when the contents are dry. Have to use manual timer to conserve energy. Not worth the cost.

Maytag may have pay to replace defective controls. 1-866-931-7384 is the number to call. I have owned my maytag dishwasher for about 18 months. Its control panel was never great, but now my dishwasher wont work at all. Apparently, the tiny inside the control panel rust away because they arent sealed.

The Maytag Centennial is the worst washer ever. Not only doesnt get the clothes clean but it does not spin out properly either so your clothes have to be run through a 2nd time after washing. The water fill level is so low that the clothes are not covered in water at all, even midway through the wash.

I have been reading the recent comments about the Maytag Bravo I purchased in 2011, and is sitting in my laundry room broken down. The timer wont advance past 18 minutes. I have reset it to factory default a number of times to no avail. I am very frustrated that the customer service offered an extended warranty for $319 to cover the service repair and another 1 years warranty. My washer is three years old! The warranty they offer is half the cost of the purchase price! The quality of this machine is very poor. I am truly disappointed with Maytag, who used to be a company you could trust. They have lost my trust along with my business.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer with Commercial Technology, front loader in April 2012. Since then, the repair guy has been at my house three times in six months. This last repair is going to be just $800 in parts, not including any labor yet. So, I called Customer Service, and told them I was not satisfied with the repair job again, because I obviously have a lemon of a machine. Needless to say, I lost, and was told the warranty is only for repair, and not replacement. Well what happened to customer service? Its more like customer bend over, shut up and take it. So, I will get my repair at a cost of at least 1,200 bucks paid for by Maytag. Im not a business person, but if I were the company, I would think replacement of the unit would be a lot cheaper in the long run for this company and a happy customer for the future of me buying brands. Needless to say, I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product again, and you can thank your useless Customer Service department in Canada for that. P.S. Leaked and leaked, spent hundreds on never ending problems from day one. No support from Maytag. I was told by Sears salesman it was the best you could buy. Our old washer lasted 30 years. This one never worked right - dead at 5 years. Shame on Maytag.

I bought this machine a year and a half ago. The entire drum and spin motor need to be replaced. Maytags warranty only lasted 1 year. I bought it at Home Depot, and also purchased the extended 5 year warranty. The extended warranty is as bad as the washing machine. I am now just 2 days shy of 4 weeks of trying to deal with both parties. Ive had to take my laundry in to have it done. The cost of the laundry, the cost of the machine, and the cost of the warranty is more than $200 more than what Home Depots Extended Protection Plan is willing to reimburse/refund. Home Depot does as much as Maytag when it comes to standing behind what they sell. An $800 washing machine only good for 18 months, really???

Absolutely the worst washer we have ever had. Clothes come out smelling and look like they havent been washed. I should have bought a cheap washer, I bet my clothes would have been cleaner. I purchased a Maytag commercial residential washer in late 2018, supposed to have a warranty for at least 5 years. We are in California and I was told that there was only one facility that could come two weeks later. I removed the front panel to have it ready for service tech, who on the first visit kept saying he did not know what the problem was, and left telling me he would order parts. After Christmas, I could not get in touch with service so again called Maytag. Service was supposed to come out on the 30th.After waiting almost 3 hours, he called to tell me he did not have the parts. Also, this repair tech treated me very bad since I removed the front panel which I thought I was being nice. He called me back on the 30th, said someone gave him a part, and came. All he did was remove control panel, lost the start button and told me it worked without checking it at all. He was rushing to another appointment so I tried to start it and it still had the original issue, which was slow agitator and a rubbing/grinding sound. Now, after he did something with control panel it had a clicking sound. I immediately called corporate and was told when he came back, which has now been over a month with no washer, that he would be with a senior technician.January 5th I waited all afternoon and he called and said he was not coming and that my whole washer would have to be rebuilt. He never replaced the parts on previous invoices I received, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Now they are completely lying. Technician trying to say I had the control panel apart which is not true, and does not match up with the invoices I received. They are telling me my warranty is voided! Its been a month and a half. I was treated rudely from the beginning and now I am obviously being retaliated against. I have 3 kids, two with severe medical problems and have put so many hours into calling with all these issues.I had another service place come out and he removed the agitator and the transmission shaft/drive motor is rusted out, as well as the parts he said he replaced are worn and definitely not new. For this company to come back after all this time and say I did this, when I have the original invoice that clearly states otherwise is absolutely the worst service ever.I bought this machine thinking it would last, and now have to deal with all this. I have nerve damage and it is very difficult to take all the laundry for a family of 5 to do at laundromat. They refused to send someone else out, where they could easily have seen this repair tech never did what he said, and was unable to diagnose and fix the issue. I bought this POS and paid almost 1000. Out the door with tax, hoses, delivery, etc. And it is by far the worst most useless pile of crap I have ever purchased. It just does not work!!! Its a washer that does not wash. It uses enough water to wash one sock and that still comes out stinky.. All my clothes no matter what cycle I use including deep fill power wash or if I add my own buckets full of water to the 1.5 hour wash cycle still come out dirty, stinky, stained and caked with detergent...Hey Maytag heres a hint. You need water to wash clothes and you need agitation to get out the soil, the dirt, the sweat, the stains, the stink and your washer does none of that. In fact I could get my clothes cleaner if I out them in the bath tub and swished them around with a broom stick for 3 mins. Ive used Maytag Dishwashers since the 1980s, from Alabama to California. And I wouldnt change a thing. In fact my entire family (well the folks that can afford it) uses maytag dishwashers. Extremely satisfied we are.

I PURCHASED A WALL OVEN ABOUT 4 months ago. Used the self cleaning, oven blew fuse and some other part, had to wait for almost 2 weeks for repair because of self cleaning liner is now peeling and leaving fine particles. Maytag said it was ok, they would not replace, the liner doesnt have a replacement part so Im going to have to buy a new oven to feel safe for my family meal.

Love my Maytag washer! It is great to have a clear lid so I can see the clothes being washed. Not only the features, it really cleans my clothes. I was surprised at the stains that are removed just from washing them!

I just got the washer 2 days ago! Its horrible! What type of quality assurance dept are running? Or is there even a QA team?? I put a big load and selected Hot & Power wash. There was hardly any water. It was cold. The detergent nor softener never dispensed. This is the worst washer ever!!!

We purchased this Maytag Centennial washer in 2009 (model # mvwc6esw/Wd; type 849-05; ser # cy1741855) and I have hated it ever since. I had an old 406 Maytag washer that was worth its weight in gold - repaired it as long as possible. I bought this new one because it was a Maytag and that was a mistake. The way it agitates my clothes get tangled and they never did that in the other original Maytag. We had to have it fixed not long after we got it and now every time I turn it on, it immediately starts to agitate on every cycle except hand wash, which it never did before. If I knew it agitated the way it did, I never would have got it. Good thing we bought an extended warranty for this machine. We have used it once already and it looks like we may have to use it again. I am very disappointed in this machine and your workmanship. The old machines were much better and more dependable.

I bought the Maytag Bravos XL HE washing machine because I needed a machine that could handle large loads to save me time doing multiple loads for everyday items like jeans to towels, blankets as well as delicates. This machine is a COMPLETE disappointment. It does NOT get anything clean unless I wash it 4 times with bleach and pre-stain 4 times. You know what bleach does to your clothes! The water level is so low I can only wash 4 things at a time and I still have to wash additional times. It doesnt get the smell or food stains out. Not a good choice for an active family or person. Ive had clothes come out with suds still on them after washing three times. I use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent. There was a $250 agitator washer by GE at Lowes but it was smaller - how I wish I bought it. These impeller HE machines dont work. My advice steer clear of this Maytag product unless you like to waste your time re-doing loads of laundry.

Maytag Dryer MED6000XR2 - Purchased in Sept. 2012 - first service call 1/13/14; 2nd service call 2/20/2015 and less than one month on 3/14/15 it goes out again. It takes one week to get service company out and then another week for the part to be ordered and put in. This means I am without a dryer for over 2 weeks. An $1,100 dryer goes out every year and sometimes within one month?! According to the service company, it just is the way this dryer works. Really? If Maytag ever wants my business again, I better get a more justified reason and better than 2 weeks service call. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Back a couple years ago, Dec. 29, 1983, I purchased a Maytag washer, model A209, and a Maytag Dryer, model DG110. Im still using them daily. The washer has given NO problems, other than the brake has taken to squealing. This causes nothing more than a notice that the load is done, so no repair is necessary. The dryer has proven more problematic, as I have had to replace the ignitor three times, the blower fan twice, and the motor (and belt) once. I still think I have gotten my moneys worth.

I have a Maytag Performa washing machine (model no. PAVT234AWW) and called the Maytag parts department to order a plastic pulley for the main drive motor. I was told I would have to purchase the 189 dollar motor just to get the plastic pulley. After two days web searching and calling local appliance stores I found that Whirlpool who uses the same drive motor sells the pulley (part no. 21001108) for 9 dollars. The Whirlpool pulley is even made out of stronger plastic. I just wonder how many Maytag customers have had to purchase a drive motor like I was told I had to by Maytag just to fix a 9 dollar pulley. I got lucky and my problem was solved, but only because a local store happened to have this particular problem so frequently that they were able to help me out when Maytag should be the ones helping out their customers better. My fairly new Maytag dishwasher took a break and stopped working. No lights on the control panel although there was power to the appliance. First repair call, I needed a new computer board. Then when the part arrived and was replaced, no lights on the control panel! Fuse checked out ok and now waiting for a control panel replacement. Really??? Dependable Maytag? No way and never again to purchase from this company (Whirlpool).

After reading all the reviews I realize this is a wide spread complaint. After 2 1/2 years the control panel on my Maytag Dishwasher will not work. You press the keys and hope for the best. I am thinking of going to the media with my complaint. Maybe we will all get some sort of refund or upgrade.

My first experience with the washer was as many in has stated - It Doesnt Clean, the clothes, also I have trouble with the fact that is there is a string loose, it become worst. Purchased this machine to replace the recalled Samsung washer that was exploding. I should have kept my Samsung. I loved it and had no complaints, but since there were reports of it exploding I took the rebate and purchased the Maytag Bravo Nightmare. Everything you have read or will read here is true. I would spend hours, I mean hours trying to do a load of laundry. If the cycle would complete itself, the clothes would be soaking wet, and they never smelled clean. I would try rinsing again and the cycle would start out with 18 minutes and I would return to the machine 1 hour later and it would be still running water and still have 18 minutes or more left. I watched it complete the spin cycle and start the rinse cycle again. We had the service guy out several times - he would call the techs and they would test the machine and say nothing was wrong other than it was off balance. They said I was using the wrong detergent - when proving that I was using an HE detergent, they counseled me on how to lay the laundry into the machine, and said I was using too much laundry detergent. After babysitting this machine for more than a year, and being told by Lowes Customer Service that the techs say there is nothing wrong with the it, I was fed up. I called Lowes and told them to send their techs to my house to do the laundry. I threatened to call for service every week until my extended warranty was exhausted. They finally gave me a merchandise card valued worth the purchase of the machine. Now, I have the painful decision of deciding what to buy next - It wont be a Maytag!

I have a Maytag MFI2665XEW6. Im getting water on the floor by the bottom draw. It looks like the coil in the back is freezing up and then melting down to the bottom of the freezer and out to the floor. I dont know how to lower the temp on the door panel.

I purchased my Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology MVWC200XW in May 2012. This is the second time in almost 3 years that it breaks down. The basket decided to drop today and by the time I realized that it did, my whole bathroom had flooded, the water spread down the hall into my spare bedroom and soaked through the floor, also flooding my basement. I called customer service. They are sending a repair man next week, but as for all my ceramic tiles that are now cracked in my bathroom and my hardwood in the hall and bedroom that is full of water and are lifting off the ground. Its my responsibility to call my insurances to fix it. Yet it was their washing machine that caused the damage in the first place. When I purchased the washer I didnt expect to have to repair it every year. Not impressed! I do not recommend this washer.

I bought this washer in November of 2012 thinking it’s one of the best because it is a Maytag. Five months later, the wash machine needed a new gear case because it was making this horrible loud noise when it was washing and spinning. The service guy came over and replaced this part. Now, the washer does not want to spin. The clothes are soaked, and I have to stand there and manually turn the knob to spin it; and it still doesnt spin right. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washing machine, and I regret ever buying this Maytag. They should recall this series of washers because there is something really wrong when you have to have it repaired twice, and it is not even a year old!

Maytag dishwasher model MDBH979SAM1 purchased December 2012 From Home Depot. After only 14 months of usage the front panel ceased to work. Contacted maytag about issue and they responded THERE ARE NO KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS MODEL. After doing some research (5 seconds), I have found thousands of people with the exact same issue. Maytag has stuck their head in the sand. Either they are ignoring this issue or just dont care due to excessive cost of replacement. This is obviously a design flaw due to poor engineering and Maytag needs to stand behind their product and fix this issue. Personally we had to save up for 1 1/2 years in order to afford a dishwasher. Now we are stuck. Some people have replaced this part costing $200 2-3 times. I cannot afford to take the chance on a repair. I will have to start saving again for a new dishwasher and this one will not be a Maytag. (Less)

This Bravos 300 washer has never cleaned clothes adequately. I have 3 sons who are athletic and this washer does not clean sweaty or dirty clothes even with extra rinse. Now my machine is 4 years and 3 months old and it needs a new bearing which will cost me $385. The repairman said this is a common repair in this machine. Maytag should be ashamed of the poor quality of this machine. I am now looking to by a new traditional top loader. These HE machines are a joke. I am contacting them to make a complaint and see if anything can be done.

I purchased Maytag washer/dryer set in Feb 2021. In June the washer broke. It took 2 weeks to get repair person to look at it. During the appt no faulty product was identified so they dont know what to replace. No parts were available. A follow-up appt was set for 1 month later. No parts are available to make the repair so a follow-up appt would be futile. . The only communications other than No Parts is that they want me to purchased an extended warranty. I will never purchase another Maytag product or recommend them to anyone. Meanwhile my warranty continues to time-out and they dont have any parts or idea when they will be available. Im not sure how a company can sell products that they do not have some level of support for those products. Beware of purchasing Maytag Products.

Purchased a new Maytag washer top load/Dryer set on April 1, 2016. Having trouble uploading receipt but I paid 1,145.83 for set. It took 2 weeks to get it delivered on April 15. 1st use it shook and wobbled even though the load was balanced but Ive read that is a problem with these machines. 1st load of clothes, washer didnt fill with enough water to wash properly - 3-4 inches of water for a full load of jeans. Top 2/3 of clothes hardly got wet! Changed the setting, same problem. Changed the setting again, same problem. I had to stand at washing machine and keep lifting the lid to get more water in the machine. Clothes didnt rotate in machine so all the clothes on top half didnt get cleaned. The spin cycle is scary! You could hear clunking noises and it had nothing to do with load being balanced. Did a small load and same thing with water level and spin cycle. Called Home Depot to pick up both machines on next business day. The dryer lint trap is so long, it made a mess trying to remove the lint even after only 1 load. NEVER AGAIN MAYTAG! Ive never regretted an appliance purchase like I do now. Maytag and April Fools day are a perfect match. Only its for real and not a joke.

I had to replace a washer & dryer which was destroyed in a fire. We lost everything. I was hoping a new set would last me many years. Boy, I was wrong. Maytag Bravo washer is the worst by far. I havent even had it 4 years. I had a plumber in 4 times already. The pump keeps breaking; it doesnt drain properly. It appears that dirt is entering the clean laundry and the laundry has to be washed again. It looks like I have to research for a new washer. It wont be a Maytag. They are thieves!

I purchased this range from a Maytag outlet in Nov. 2006. No problems with it until Nov 2015. The oven igniter failed. This was serviced locally and replaced in an efficient manner by the local service tech. All is good until 2 days later when I decided it is time for an oven cleaning cycle. I set the cycle for Medium Soil (3hrs). After the conclusion of the clean cycle, the oven (bake) would not work. Called Maytag service, the service tech replaced burned up oven wiring as well as the igniter again. However, the cleaning cycle had taken out the gas safety valve control as well. I am now told there is no replacement oven gas safety valve unit available anywhere. I even called Maytags 1-800 number and searched online only to find the part on backorder and not available.I find this particularly frustrating in light that I spent over $1200 on a Maytag product I thought would bring way more than 9 years of service before it is deemed unrepairable. The average gas range lifetime is 18 years. In my opinion, not a good return for the investment. Its a shame because the rest of the range works and looks fine, which is now destined for the dump. I am replacing the Maytag with a $550. Frigidaire with manual cleaning. Will never buy another Maytag appliance or a self cleaning oven again. If the self cleaning feature has the potential to fry the controls, why would they offer such a feature, or why couldnt they warn one of the potential failure.

First, the machine is a wrinkle monster no matter what I try. I wash my clothes on delicate cycle to keep the colors longer and so my clothes last longer. This has never been a problem with previous washers. I take them out IMMEDIATELY as soon as the door unlocks and shake them out and hang everything to dry. This worked great previously and I never had to iron anything or put anything in the dryer to get wrinkles out. Now, this washer wrinkles my clothing to an unbelievable extent so that they need to be ironed or a round in the dryer to relax them. This is true on Wrinkle Guard and using the delicate setting, set between medium and none on the spin cycle. Wrinkle Guard? I don’t think so. This thing wrinkles my No Iron shirts so they will have to be ironed or steamed.The washer leaves lint like residue most all of the time on dark clothing from day one. I most recently did a load of black only clothes that I did on delicate, soil level between med to extra heavy, spin speed between med and none, and, because of the dirty clothes issue, I had the extra rinse on. The clothes came out dirtier looking than they went in and looked like I washed them with a box of tissues and too much soap. They looked dirtier than before I washed them and had a whitish and lint like residue on everything. So I ran them through the same cycle/extra rinse again but WITHOUT any soap. Unfortunately I didn’t watch to see how much water the machine sensed that these loads needed and I didn’t see how much water was there - but I did for other loads after - see the next problem below. After the second identical cycle, the clothes had the same residue which I photographed and have enclosed below. (And still a wrinkled mess.)We have found that the water sensor can’t sense the proper water level needed and is likely not functional. Sometimes it seems like it might almost be be appropriate and sometimes not at all. Specifically, after I ran the black load through, I decided to try a small red load before my usual large blue load just to see how much water there was. Same settings as above, 6 small items that barely covered the bottom of the drum and the washer sensed a medium load. Certainly by volume of clothing this was not a medium sized load and if it goes by weight, it was the smallest load possible! Medium water level… These clothes seemed to agitate ok because they were completely submerged in water and came out clean. Then I did the much larger blue load that filled the drummer then halfway. This had so many more items than the red load and weighed way more. I tried the same settings as above and this time the machine sensed a SMALL load and the water level was barely halfway up the clothes, if even that much. So half of the clothes were out of the water and we watched and witnessed that the clothes did not agitate properly. This load came out like the black load so I ran the whole cycle again including the double rinse. This time, the same load was sensed to be a MEDIUM load although NOTHING changed except that the clothes were damp and lower in the tub as they were compressed from having gone through the entire wash cycle. They came out mostly clean, after the second wash, again, likely because this time they were almost covered by the water (2/3rds or so) and could move around a little better but still not great agitation.There almost never seems to be quite enough water so that the clothes are not able to move by the agitator and sometimes we watch and can see that the clothes above the waters never get pulled into the water. I understand that this machine may not completely cover the clothes but this seems way short on water and the fact that things usually come out dirty means something is wrong. There is often so little water that the agitator can’t possibly work the clothes into the water. So, next I ran an Oxi cycle and witnessed that about half of the items were not in any water and were only wet because of the filling cycle not because they were moved around by the agitator. How can the oxi do its job if the clothes aren’t in the solution of at least wet from the solution which I didn’t see as likely as the clothes didn’t seem to move through much if at all?Along with the same water sensing problem, why on earth isn’t there a manual water adjustment? If the water sensor doesn’t work, the other option is only the high fill setting. After finding my clothes still dirty when we first got it, I tried the high fill setting to see if this would help but the clothes still came out with that residue. This was the very first few loads I ran and was assuming it was just user error so I studied the manual and tried everything as recommended. Since reading that residue can result from too much water, I use the recommended sensing feature now. So, we can either have too much water or barely any at all…

I bought my Maytag Refrigerator about 7 years ago and the night mares have not stopped. The ice maker has broken down so many times, I forgot to count. The drip from the ice maker lands on the floor of the freezer and drips out to the floor. The cold part of refrigerator end up freezing the fruits and veggie and milk.

Purchased a new Maytag washer from a local Hardware store chain. Waited 3 days for delivery. Old washer was hauled away. Started using new Maytag Centurion the same night it was received. There was a funny odor coming from the washer that was discounted as new equipment smell. Saturday the Maytag Centurion washer was leaking some odd lubricant that had the same odor as the mentioned new equipment smell. Since this lube had been leaking out in close proximity as the liquid detergent my wife used a towel to clean it up. This towel went into the laundry with other clothes.Now Im concerned that whatever this oily stuff is, it’s in all of the clothing that was washed with the towel. Since I live on the West Coast and Maytag only answers the phone during the week Eastern Daylight Time I will call (2 days) after the fact. You might do well by finding out what this lube stuff is before you take it home and how youll have to deal with it once it leaks.

We purchased this set 6 months ago. The store we purchased it from is unwilling to help us. Maytag insists there is nothing wrong with the washing machine. The machine doesnt clean the clothes. After a wash cycle there is pet fur and lint all over the clothes, even after it comes out of the dryer. The clothes are all twisted in tight knots when the load is done. The washing Machine doesnt dispense enough water to wash. I have taken clothes out of the washer and the items are dry in spots, most times you can smell the mustiness of a dish towel after its been washed.I used the steam clean dryer to fresh in up the curtains and the panels came out different lengths. Not eager to try that feature again. This is our 2nd dryer set purchase, the last set was 10 yrs old. I couldnt find anyone willing to repair it. I was told they dont make machines like they used to and they are all designed to last 10 yrs and you’re lucky if it lasts 15 yrs. Yes, we contacted Maytag and yes, like the many other folks who have shared their stories we also got the run around. Sad to say we are going to do our research and will be looking for a new machine. Im going to shamefully donate the set to a charitable organization and use the receipt as a tax write off. IF you’re doing your research, DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG.

I bought a Maytag Bravos washer in March 2015. Over the summer I had two items, both cotton t-shirts come out of the washer badly stretched and torn. Other items have come out badly stretched, but not destroyed. After the second shirt was destroyed, I called Maytag (Sept. 2015). A young man was sent over. He ran the diagnostic, finding nothing wrong. He did not check the agitator. He reported back that it must be the way I loaded the machine. I use the Normal and Active Wear settings, leaving the center clear. My loads are very small. Under these conditions items should not get caught. Maytag stands by their claim that it is my fault. I only figured out what was actually happening when I saw an item caught.

It was alright for a while. Then it started ripping up my clothes. The machine is not overloaded, enough water has been added but, when I take the clothes out they are torn. Not a good experience. I have seen several reviews on the Centennials, none of them good. What is the problem. I am hoping my experience gets resolved.

We can do nothing at the control panel even though the drum light will come on when the door is opened, we cannot turn it from the control panel. After a varying length of time, a fault code of F70 is displayed (which is not covered in the owners manual), the dryer can then be started by depressing the power button and all functions seem to be restored.

I dont know where to start. This machine (Bravo XL Top Load Washer) is ridiculous! When I finally figured out how to start it, it did not rinse or spin clothes. I cannot figure out how to get it to do that so Im stuck with a washer full of wet clothes. To add insult to injury, I cannot reach into the washer to retrieve them. I am 52 and all washers are designed by freakishly tall people with NO REGARD FOR WOMEN apparently! Poorly designed! Poorly engineered! What a piece of junk!

We owned the washer for 2 years and 2 days when we got a code F70. After searching online, I found hundreds, if not thousands, of reviews and self-help forums that show this product is in dire need of a recall. The problem I had is the motor control unit (MCU), which is a $225 to $275 part online. However, Maytag will only replace the board under extended warranty with a refurbished board that they say costs $330, whereas they say the new one is over $600. Why is it that Maytag charges double what everyone else charges? If so many people are having these problems, it is obviously a defect and should not be the consumer’s responsibility. It is obvious that this is too common of a problem.

The $1,100 Maytag Bravo XL does not have a dedicated spin cycle. Its rinse and spin. When out of balance, you rearrange and it rinses AGAIN - 15 minutes - before you know whether its balanced. By rinsing again, it can redistribute to be out of balance. Repairmen (w/ extra warranty) said you cant wash bath mats, bedspreads or pillows though it had giant capacity! They would charge me if I called again about it (3 strikes). So bought a used Kenmore with no computer panel... Its great! My dealer had the Maytag hauled to a dump, he would not sell it to anybody as he had integrity.

Fridge model mff2055drm00 - Purchased 2 years ago. Upon delivery and working water leaked from bottom. Called recommended service. Result took out fridge and brought in another new one. Today the fridge/freezer ices up, ends up sounding like a rocket ship. Not working efficiently. Called for authorized service. Was told needed a new thermostat... after TWO Years? Service call price $125, quote to purchase, replace and install thermostat $550. Almost $700. Big mistake buying Maytag- who knew? But never again! We are quite angry and very disappointed with the mediocre performance of this product.

I inherited this Maytag washer, so it has been around a very long time (I have had it for 18 years). It still runs quite well, has 3 levels of wash/rinse, 3 cycles to wash in. Both of us...me and the washer are still kickin together. Highly recommend Maytag.

I purchased an emerald green washing and dryer (MHW4200BW) by Maytag. Unfortunately, my washing machine broke and I bought the extended warranty. After many visits from the repair company, it was determined that one of the parts needed was on back order indefinitely. Maytag decided that they would replace the washing machine. Sounds like a fair and good deal, however, the washing machine that they are going to replace my unit with is of a different color. Apparently someone in upper management at Maytag made a business decision to stop selling this particular color unit with little to no regards to the customers that had already purchase their product in that color. Had I known that they were going to discontinue the color, then I would have stuck with a standard color like white. At least I would not be faced with having a mismatch unit now because Maytag will not replace both units. To make matters worse, my washing machine and dryer is on the first floor right off my kitchen. It is not stuck in the basement way from company, etc. I am so disappointed in Maytag and their lack of consideration for their customers.

I bought this range Nov 2019, beautiful range that’s it. Stove top scratches very easily and hard to clean. Oven racks rust, got them replaced on the guaranty they still rust. Oven dirty never gets clean, If I could afford it I would on the curbside. I wouldn’t even give it away. 3 oven in 48 years of marriage, worst oven ever.... Sure would like a full refund, I mean 1500. What a ripoff.

I bought my maytag stove model MGR7662WS on January 30, 2011 and have had it serviced 3 times... same problem. I set oven to 350 degrees, put food in oven and later check on food only to find the temperature reads 350 but the oven is cold. Food is not cooked and it smells like gas. I turn it off and turn it back on and it does not turn on most of the time. Service guy keeps replacing parts and says he will replace the same part he just replaced last week. He says sometimes the part comes out defective. I think the stove is defective and I have thrown away so much food because it does not finish cooking and smells like gas. Its so frustrating because my Thanksgiving was ruined two years in a row due to turkey not cooking.

It is not worth the money. I paid $2500.00 for a Maytag refrigerator that I had for two months. Two service calls were made to Maytag as of 07/07/2014, the problem no ice and the refrigerator stays warm. The problem has not been resolve and Maytag refuses to replace the item.

We had a house built in 2007 and bought all new Maytag appliances - washer, dryer, oven/range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Consequently, we spent many thousands of $ and Maytag made much money from our purchases. In the 7.5 years since we have been using these appliances, the dishwasher already had to be replaced, as fixing it would have cost just as much as buying a new one. But its the range that I am so angry about. I have replaced the igniter 3 times since 2007, and last night, it went out again. I have spent $494 so far to keep replacing the igniter and once I make the service call to replace it AGAIN, it means I will have spent approx. $700 to keep fixing an appliance that is only 7.5 years old. Maytag says the warranty on the appliance is only for 1 year and will not budge on giving me a break on cost of parts and/or service. I will NEVER AGAIN purchase anything Maytag or recommend Maytag to anyone.

We bought our Maytag washer and dryer a bit over 5 years ago. Now the UL warning comes on. Found out it will be over $400 to fix it. It only cost $500 new. Repairman says it is very common and not to pay him to fix it. Our GE went 20 years. Lesson learned, wife is out looking at new GE.

Maytag Neptune Washer Drum Bearings have once again failed. Last time, I replace the whole drum via diy, cost was about $160 for the part. Now I see that outer drum is $500 +/-. I just may only replace the Seals & Bearings this time OR just part this thing out and buy a real machine without the Maytag name.

Purchased our Maytag in October 2009. From the beginning it would make loud, popping noises occasionally but seemed to work just fine. At the time of purchase, we opted to buy the 5 year extended warranty for $125.00 (just in case). Here we are at seven months after that warranty is no longer any good and the freezer leaks all over the floor and we have to keep a towel at the bottom to soak it up.This morning I wake up to the panel being completely out and fridge is not running at all!!! We thought when we purchased our Maytag that we were buying the best of the best... not even close! We just paid for an expensive piece of junk! Who has the extra money just lying around to go buy a new fridge? Not us! This is unacceptable!!! I have read other reviews that sound pretty much exact to our experience with this refrigerator. I hope somehow they can and will be held responsible for putting this product on the market knowing full well it is an over-priced piece of junk.

Maytag Dishwasher Model # MDB7809AWB2. Part = Console Keypad. We have lived in this home for approximately 4 1/2 years. We purchased a Maytag Dishwasher and had to replace the motherboard in it about 2 months after the warranty ran out. We paid 1/4 of the cost of the dishwasher to get it fixed and I am having the same problem again. I am very dissatisfied with the appliance and I will not pay another $200 to get it fixed. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. Dont buy Maytag!!!

I had six service calls, one was a few months after purchase when under warranty for loud noise. I bought it in 08 and since then during the last 6 months, its freezing in the refrigerator. Service person is upset. I contacted corporate and they do not care and told me I should have bought their warranty. Yes, they had to be here when it was under warranty. Still freezing, they played with air hoses, replaced the temp panel and did everything they can, with no results. Theyre giving it one more try and it is going to be hooked up to the Silverado and put on I-75 with a sign on it. Do not buy from this company. Terrible service. I emailed CEO and no response. I just tossed a tomato and strawberry on the tile floor. Yes, buy American. They moved their plant from Indiana (union) to I think TN for non-union. Well, get what you pay for and the employees get what they are paid for. I work in the building business and everyone knows not to buy this product! Just throwing your money away. One good thing is if you like frozen beverages, this is the product to buy! Never again! Receipts in hand! Romney probably owns the stock! LOL

Under class action suit in 8/2005, Maytag repaired my Neptune washer by replacing motor conversion kit. 6 yrs later the washer is having same problems as had originally; we asked Maytag just to replace the motor drive again ($190.00 part). They refuse, although this motor drive had identical life span to the one they replaced. It seems the replacement part was not new and improved, it only lasted as long as the original. Only now, we are past the class action suit deadline by years.

I have owned this dishwasher about four years. After about three years the control panel malfunctioned and had to be replaced. Six months later I had to replace the controller. After another six months the control panel has again failed. Rather than invest more money in this beast, I have decided to replace it with what I hope is a more reliable machine. This experience has definitely put a bad taste in my mouth about Maytag products. I’m afraid this will be my last purchase of a Maytag product.

I have had this washer (top loading washer model MVWX550XW0) almost 2 years. It has ruined some of my clothes. It does not properly wash anything. I have tried every possible solution. I cannot use the HE powder detergent - it will not rinse out. I tried using less than required and double rinse, absolutely did not overload. Even using the HE liquid still did not get clothes clean. I used the number one detergent to the cheaper brand - it makes no difference. I still have to double rinse everything. Small throw rugs will not even get totally wet or clean. I took clothes to the laundromat just to make sure it was the washer. It is this washer. I know I have waited too long to register my complaint, but I have basically thrown away $1200. Also, loads of clothes would take up to 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours to wash. Now that is definitely not energy efficient. I would love for you to pick it up and bring me a standard washer and dryer. I work for a research firm and know when companies really care about their customers. I will be interested to see if the Maytag Man really cares. The only reason I did not check angry is because of my delayed response.

The washer I bought brand new has never worked well. The clothes end up all bunched and twisted up together. The bleach is not distributed properly, I have big blotches of white spots. It is leveled, still shakes and everything is on one side

I have a self cleaning Maytag electric stove. I discovered the self cleaning starts after so many times of using the oven. But the stove didnt give me warning of this when I put my Thanksgiving turkey in the oven. Halfway through cooking, the oven door locked and went into cleaning mode which scorched my turkey and could have possibly caused a house fire. Also, my top burners have a mind of their own, while cooking they turn up on their own. This stove is very dangerous.

Ran washer with extra rinse and clothes came out with dry spots. The only way to get clean wash is to wash everything on bulky/sheets. We lost every appliance in Sandy. If I had known the machine was so-called water saver I never would have purchased it. I was in a hurry. I hate the machine.

We purchased a bottom freezer refrigerator from the Home Depot in 2013 and I am sorry to say this refrigerator does not deserve any stars. Immediately after the warranty was up our refrigerator started leaking all over the floor. The drain clogged and freezes up on the bottom under the freezer. When it becomes full, it leaks all over my hardwood floor. I have now become a slave to this refrigerator. Each week I have to open the freezer and get down on my hands and knees to break up the ice, scoop it out, toss it in the sink. I have spread the word and I hope anyone who reads this does as well. Never buy a Maytag product because not only do they make defective products, they wont own up to it and recall it.

Less than 2 yrs old and starts giving UL error on spin cycle. I try replacing the springs. No relief. Notice dark brown fluid under dryer. Thing sound like a plane taking off. A little more research and Im thinking its the bearings. Looks like an expensive repair, now I have to decide whether to cut my losses. Seriously? The reviews on here are just horrible, not like this was an dl hell machine.

We bought a Maytag dryer from Lowes on 4.23.20 for $567.87. From Day 1, it required us to dry even medium loads at least 2 times and sometimes even 3 times. I have been complaining to my husband since we got it. The clothes come out smelling almost burnt. But if you dry it once, the clothes are wet. And if you try to dry it the 2nd time for less time, its still not dry. So, it takes forever to do laundry. This morning, it sounded like a lot of metal was rattling around. So, I looked inside to see if change was in there, and nothing was in there but t-shirts and socks. It had been drying for less than a minute, but when I opened the door a wave of extreme heat hit my face. Now Im afraid to use it because I think it will eventually burn our house down. And with COVID-19, we do tons of laundry. We cant afford another dryer but may have no choice.

I purchased a beautiful Maytag dishwasher for $700+ and it died after a year of use. I called Maytag to complain and they dont care. Pay $350 for a tech to come fix its warranted for a year or fix it yourself. I fixed it myself for $180 and am hoping the very same key panel wont fail again. I know it will. I wrote to Maytag about the issue and have not gotten a response. Im hopeful that they will make this right or that they get sued and the consumers get their money back.

Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are junk dealers. We bought a Maytag Bravo topload washer in April 2011. Shortly after the first year, after using it once weekly, it began to stop draining. Clothes were soaked, meaning lots of wringing out by hand and using the dryer double time to get them dry. There are no clogs or kinks in the line. The machine is junk! It should have lasted much longer than this. I am not going to spend more money to have a repair person come and check on it. Its not worth it. Im going to buy a GE washer, the old-fashioned kind that gets clothes clean. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are much worse-off breeds these days. They are off the list for good. Their products are a joke. Unfortunately, Im not laughing, but close to tears. Enjoy my money, you **.

I bought this washer (Bravos Washer Model MVWX655DW) in June 2017. My wife and I did plenty of research and only complaint at that time was that it made load clicking noises. We bought it and it worked fine but never really filled with water to a level which would cover the clothes. Today I ran a load and brownish water was seeping out from underneath. When I lifted the machine my floor was covered with old stains which looked like oil or grease. I called a local service company and when they found out which model I had they refused to look at it. They said that particular model was known for having issues and when they fixed it, something else would go. They recommended looking online for reviews and calling Maytag.I did so and after explaining the situation to Maytag, they offered to send a technician to look at it to diagnose, not free of charge of course. While I cannot tell you avoid a particular company, I can say MY family will never buy Maytag again. If a washer is well known for having issues within its first 3 years and a company will not try to make it right simply because theres no recall on it I will spend my money elsewhere. Seems fishy that this machine has a ton of 1 star reviews within the last two months and Maytag does not want to eat the cost of servicing their junk.

These are the issues, Water level is ridiculous, clothes often have dry spots, I use only the high water level which is a joke. The tub bottom is very hard to reach because it is too deep even for a man with a long reach. The tub itself is about 16” deep but never fills more than 4” of water on the high water setting. Why such a deep wide tub when you can only put 4” of water? Cleaning is poor, the machine is very noisy, very. The worst machines we have ever purchased with ridiculous sensors, bells and whistles. The dryer takes forever to dry clothes and again the sensors are a joke. The high efficiency of the units means you work much longer for clothes that are wrinkled, spotted, less clean looking and sometimes damaged. Where is the savings? And don’t say hydro and water as the washer cleaner cost, wipes that out and more. We gave our 26 year old machines to Habitat, neither machine was ever serviced and were in perfect condition, they were Maytag. They have destroyed their name. So sorry we decided to modernize our laundry room.

Not long after dishwasher MDB7609AWB2 was out of warranty the START switch on the keyboard would not work. Called dealer and they sent someone out to check for a charge not quite $100. Could not fix it so said it needed a new control panel which with labor was almost $200. Doesnt work so get it fixed. Now less than 3 years later the same thing has happened - wont start. Lousy engineering and part probably made in China to save Maytag money, I feel is the cause. This is happening over and over to those of us who purchased in good faith what used to be a reliable product from a reliable company.

After 16 months my Maytag dishwasher control panel went bad. The company told me they could not help me. I asked for a new control panel to install myself, no luck. I bit the bullet and bought one online for 110 dollars. 2 months later... you guessed it, its bad. Now I have to send it back under warranty. It was a Maytag name brand OEM part. I thought Maytag was a reliable name, I thought wrong. Never again.

Theres always a problem with this thing. It doesnt clean the clothes, its always off balance, and now it leaks from the bottom side of the machine in the clean washer cycle. Its only 2 1/2 years old. Should of listened to the guy who fixed my old machine. Dont get a Maytag!

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher in January of 2011. Two years later the entire machine stopped working. We had purchased the extended warranty and the control board and panel were replaced. Now two years later it happens again. Maytag/Whirlpool is of no help nor do they care. DO NOT purchase their product!! Multiple complaints and issues with faulty control panels and the cost to replace one is the same as buying a new dishwasher so they cant lose. I will never again own a Maytag or Whirlpool product.

Bought this machine with the intention of having at LEAST 10 problem free years with it. Its a Maytag after all. Not an unreasonable expectation. Within the first 2 years, the machine sounded like the bearings were going out (heavy, grinding noises when it shifted gears). Repairman came, replaced the entire drum (only way to get to the gears, I guess). Didnt fix a thing. Then the rinse and spin cycle on ANY wash cycle randomly quits. Just stops. Full load of wet, soapy clothes, sitting in the tub while an LD error code quietly flashes.Its not uncommon for it to take two full days of screwing around with this machine to get one load of clothes done. Have to UNPLUG the machine, let it sit for about an hour, and try again. It is the biggest waste of money ever and I will NEVER buy another Maytag nothing. Contacted Maytag and they recommended I call a repairman...REALLY? REALLY? Gee, I wish I had thought of that. Repair guy has been to my house so damn many times for this machine, we are now friends on Facebook. Dont waste your money on this machine.

I purchased a new washer and dryer from Lowes a few months ago. I had my former washer and dryer for nearly 20 years and although the dryer started to have some issues, the washer worked wonderfully. To have a matching set, I decided to purchase both a new washer and dryer. I was told the Maytag Bravos XL model was the top of the line and could handle large loads. After just a few washes I realized this machine does not add enough water to get the top clothes wet and there is no agitator to pull the clothes into the water. I returned to Lowes and was told to use the deep water wash. I tried that and still had clothes coming out from the wash still dry and dirty. Unfortunately Lowes would not take the machines back and I was told to call Maytag. Maytag said there was nothing they could do except send out a technician for a service fee of $98 to help me determine if the machine is functioning correctly. I could not dislike a washer and dryer more! The dryer catches clothes on one of the screws inside and pulls fabric pieces out. This is in my opinion the worst washer dryer set I could imagine having. I will share my experience with as many people as I can to help others avoid making the costly mistake of purchasing a Maytag product. Maytag does not seem to care they have designed and sold a dysfunctional product!

I purchased my Maytag side by side Model No. MSB27C2XAM00 in August of 2013. Within a 2 Weeks the lettering was gone on the control panel for the ice and water dispenser. I contacted Maytag and they replaced it, but the next one did the same thing, and the next one! They replaced it three times and they have all done the same thing. Now they are refusing to do anything more because they say I must be using cleaner or something on the panel because I am the only one having an issue with this! I assure you I have not used any cleaner and there are only three people in my household so it doesnt even experience excessive usage! I know this problem isnt as extreme as some, but when you pay this much money for an appliance you would like to think it should last longer than this!

The Maytag Bravos XL low water washing machine is very disappointing. About 20% of the time it needs a second rinse because there isnt enough water released to rinse clothing. Forget washing anything large. It just doesnt do it. Waste of money. The matching dryer is just fine - no complaints.

WOW! I cant believe I bought a Maytag MDB7749AWM1 Dishwasher without reading any reviews. Paid $650 for it a couple of years ago and the control panel is bad. $390 to repair it, unbelievable! Sounds like Maytag has a major customer service problem because I will NEVER BUY A MAYTAG DISHWASHER again! Spent $5000 grand on new Maytag appliances thinking they were the best to replace the outdated ones. Not the same, not sure what youre doing Maytag but youre losing a lot of loyal customers. What a shame! My old dishwasher lasted over 18 years and I didnt have any problems. 2 years? Come on!!! Same problem as the other 5000 people, someone needs a career change!

I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher model MDB7609AWB1 approximately 2yrs ago from Sears. We purchased quite a few new appliances from them and they are always helpful. Within the first year, right after the warranty was up, it stopped working. No lights on the power panel. I called Sears, out of warranty, sorry. Said they would give me a deal on the repair. Sears came out, replaced the computer. $230.00. 6 months later, it stops working again. I go on line to look up these models and sure enough a lot of people are having the same issues. I did some of the checks that they said to do and found my plastic door latch was broken. A little plastic arm that actuates the switches broke. Should have been made of metal. I replace it myself, very easy, by the way. So I figure, in another 8 months it will prob break again. They run anywhere from $19.00-$30.00. 2 days ago power panel and light, not working again. I called Sears and asked them if they were having issues with the power panels that this was the second time in less than 2 years, and if there were any recalls, they said no. I guess they dont follow their reviews, but according to google reviews, its a major problem with most of them. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amanda. Ordered a new panel today, again they are $141 from Sears but if you shop, you can get a new one for less than $85.00. If you have any kind of mechanical skills, you can replace it in less than 20 mins. It just seems to me that this big companies have let their quality control go and are more concerned about the profit. There should be a recall on these. Do Not buy a Maytag/Whirlpool dishwasher, they are total junk. Sorry Maytag, you lost another customer.

Maytag has always been my favorite lasts forever no problems at all till something perforated the pump but was fixed promptly. I had my maytag till I moved and left it with my son so I do not have it now but I'd buy another maytag as long as it's not one of those water savers. Do not like those because it doesn't use enough water to rinse out the soap properly like the older original machines. Maytag is strong, durable and worth every penny. If I was buying another washer It would definitely be a maytag. They wash clothes thoroughly. Of all household appliances if have to have a maytag washing machine and my favorite vacuum cleaner. Maytag washing machines are by far a ten next everything else I've tried.

My Maytag washing machine is rusting out at less than three years! [Photos included]. I have called customer service twice, spoken to two different women and have been told that it is a cosmetic issue [Model MTW2541240; Serial CW2541240 ]. The last e-mail with photos was sent to Gwendolyn **. I indicated that the rust has ruined very expensive sheets, other clothing, towels. It took me a long time to figure out what was causing the spots on the clothes. There is rust on the outside of the machine, the lid and inside the actual drum which holds the water. The machine is a lemon. You have me registered in your system with the date of purchase.My question to you, since when is rust in the inside of a washing machine a cosmetic issue? Are you aware of this issue? Do you as the CEO believe this is what is acceptable for a Maytag washing machine? I firmly suspect this issue is beyond my washer based on my research with various stores and sales people. They are telling me I am not the first with this issue, non-Lowes stores. I purchased the machine at Lowes and because no one at Whirlpool was responsive to him or to Lowes, he is offering to apply the refund to a new Lowes washing machine. I am now in the process of searching my credit card records from Sept-Oct 2008 which is when I bought the machine.I would like not to be restricted to Lowes for another washing machine. I will notify Rick ** (at the Lowes Turtle Creek, Coconut Creek store in Florida, telephone 954 346-3993) of this letter to you so that you and Rick dont think I am trying to obtain a double refund. I just want the full value of the washer back so that I will have a choice in the replacement. The selection at Lowes is limiting. I will upgrade to more of a commercial washer and pay the difference. I wanted you to be made aware of this issue.

We had a three-year warranty which expired. We used a repair once for a rusting Clorox basin. Now, the tub swings wildly on every wash and will not complete because we get the UL warning. Weve tried making sure the washer was balanced but confirming that nothing helped. Most expensive washing machine ever and shortest life apparently.

This is a Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW. This machine has been repaired a couple of times already and it has a will of its own. When it goes into that fast spin cycle that will kicks in and it starts moving. I wonder if someday its going to attack me. So, last Friday night we put a load in and it went into that fast spin cycle. It was making a noise like an elephant in labor so I looked in the laundry room.... Clouds of smoke were billowing out of the top of the machine. Our house will filling up with washing machine smoke! My husband stopped it, but I think it was a gnats hair close to bursting into flames. He looked into the front of the machine when the smoke dissipated and the entire gasket was in shreds. No more Maytag. Never. Im done.

After researching the top-rated washing machine in consumer reports, we decided to spend the extra cash ($930) and buy the top-rated machine. Spending almost double on a high end machine, you would expect this machine to last longer than three years. The motherboard needs to be replaced because it gets stuck on a UL code near the end of the cycle. Now, we have had two people come try to fix it, and they said to trash it and buy a new one. Only three years! If I had paid $300, I wouldnt be so upset, but that was a total waste of money for it to last less than any machine Ive ever had. How is a consumer supposed to know what a good washing machine is if they spend extra cash for the top-rated machine and that one is still bad? The company should replace something like a motherboard that goes faulty when it had nothing to do with use. So unfair and frustrating.

Control panel on front of dishwasher quit. Unit is 15 months old. Bought extended warranty through Home Depot. Took two hours on the phone to finally get to the correct department, they set an appt. for the following Wednesday between 10-2. Had to take a vacation day. Get a call from the appliance repair co. the night before stating they cant live by Depots schedule, they wont be out til the following Monday between 9-1. Schedule a vacation day. They come out then have to order parts, they wont be in for 7-10 business days. After 12 business days, I call back and they set appt. between 10-2. Schedule vacation day. They come out and the control panel the warranty company sent is the wrong one. Now I have to start the whole process over again. DONT BUY MAYTAG AND DONT BUY WARRANTY OR APPLIANCE THROUGH HOME DEPOT.

Purchased 4 Maytag kitchen appliances - stove, double oven, fridge, dishwasher - was told that they were all made in the USA. WRONG. The microwave comes from China - not sure why Maytag is not being honest. Not happy with my purchases - even though we spent $4000 to buy American. Warranty service is awful - even extended warranty is a joke. Would never purchase Maytag again.

We bought a top load washer and the matching dryer. A thermal switch (I think it’s called) blew in the dryer at about two years. Luckily my husband is an electrician, so he took care of that. WASHER-A little after 2 years the plastic “driver hub” stripped And the agitator has stopped working, the door is having trouble locking and it won’t spin fast enough to get the water out of the clothes. I’ve ordered a new “driver hub” for $53! It is a cheap plastic part. Probably 1 cent to make in China. Robbery. This will hopefully resolve all 3 issues I’m having with the washer. They even charged me 9.99 shipping. $2000 later Maytag/Whirlpool should treat their customers like royalty. I will never ever buy another Maytag or other brands associated with Whirlpool ever again.

Bought a Maytag HD top load washing 11/4/17. Within the first month the machine began to make a loud squealing noise during the wash cycle. A repairman came out 2 times before finally replacing the gearbox and tub. Within the last month or so the problem began again, another repairman came out twice, and once again, had to replace the gearbox and tub. When he left I ran a load and the machine sounded like a war was occurring inside of it. Very loud banging and grinding... heck I was wishing for just the squealing back! Maytag refuses to replace the machine and just keeps sending out repair people. The Maytag name once stood for quality but that was long ago.
