CODE: F001, F002, F004 or F005
PROBLEM: Touch panel failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and wait 30 seconds then restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and replace the touch panel.

CODE: F003
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and replace the user interface board. The user interface control board may have more than one version. Use the latest revision of the user interface control board.

CODE: F010
PROBLEM: Runaway temperature (oven temperature is over 600 degrees and increasing)
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe.

CODE: F011
PROBLEM: Stuck key on the keypad
FIX: The control detects a key has been pressed for 30 seconds or more. Make sure nothing is pushing against the keypad. Press the Stop key to clear the display. If the code won't clear, disconnect electrical power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board.

CODE: F012
PROBLEM: Touch panel and user interface control board mismatch
FIX: This code appears when you replace the touch panel or the user interface control board using the wrong part. Use your range model number to check the part number and install the correct replacement part.

CODE: F013
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, replace the user interface control board.

CODE: F015
PROBLEM: Touch panel failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If error code returns, replace the touch panel.

CODE: F017
PROBLEM: User interface board is unable to configure the touch panel
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part.

CODE: F018
PROBLEM: Relay control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power to the range and replace the relay control board.

CODE: F019
PROBLEM: User interface control board is unable to configure the relay control board
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the relay control board, you may have used the wrong part.

CODE: F022
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the relay control board
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged.

CODE: F023
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the touch panel
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the touch panel. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring harness is okay, replace the touch panel. If the problem continues, replace the user interface control board.

CODE: F025 or F027
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the relay board can't be initiated

CODE: F028 or F029
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the touch panel can't be initiated
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the touch. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part.

CODE: F030 or F031
PROBLEM: Oven temperature sensor probe failure
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms of resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe.

CODE: F033
PROBLEM: Meat probe temperature sensor shorted or too hot
FIX: The control triggers this code if the meat probe detects temperature above 392 degrees F. Make sure you fully insert the meat probe into the meat. The meat probe will detect oven cavity temperature higher than 392 degrees if you don't fully insert the meat probe tip into the meat. Also, make sure that you insert the meat probe jack into the receptacle. A partially inserted meat probe jack can short the contacts in the receptacle, causing this error code.

CODE: F050
PROBLEM: Oven relay board can't detect the status of the door lock switches
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the wire harness connections between the door lock switches and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. Check to see if the door lock switches work properly using a multimeter. Replace the door lock assembly if the switches don't work. Replace the relay control board if the wires and switches are all okay.

CODE: F090
PROBLEM: Door lock error
FIX: The relay control board doesn't detect the door lock motor operating. Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds, then restore power. Try again to lock the oven door by initiating the Oven Lockout or starting a Clean Cycle. If the door lock motor doesn't run, disconnect power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the door lock assembly and the relay control board.

CODE: F095
PROBLEM: Door lock motor doesn't stop running
FIX: If the door lock motor is constantly running, replace the relay control board because the relay on the circuit board is stuck. If the motor isn't running constantly when this code appears, replace the door lock assembly.

CODE: F096
PROBLEM: Oven door has been detected open during a self-clean cycle.
FIX: Make sure the oven door closes fully and pushes the door switch plunger in. Adjust the oven door hinges or replace the door hinges if damaged. Disconnect electrical power to the range and test the door switch for continuity with the door switch plunger pressed in. Replace the door switch if you don't measure continuity during that test.

We purchased our house from the original owner and have had nothing but problems with the oven racks. They never used the oven, so were unaware of the problem. It is Model # C 970-418232, Serial # NF70817966. We have had the racks fall in the middle of baking something NUMEROUS times, finally with one incidence causing a serious burn. This is unacceptable! I have read that others have had the same issues, but there have been no resolutions as of yet. It is not under warranty anymore, and I dont think that this should be called a warranty issue, but should be recalled due to the risk of VERY SERIOUS burns, items breaking when rack falls, etc!!! We should be able to SAFELY use ANY of our oven racks on ANY of the shelf levels! My mother has also been burned by our oven, and my children are forbidden to use it! Has ANYONE been compensated for this problem? Has Sears ever replaced any of the racks and given the owner the correct size? I look forward to hearing more about this from other owners, and would love to hear back from Sears! This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS problem that needs to be fixed!

Keeps the items I need for food cold enough but it sometimes builds ice in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. The freezer could be larger also. Too small especially in freezer section. Light sometimes gets in way of the food too. I am not sure whether is large as they claim it to be. It is all white and no different than any other refrigerator from Sears or any other store. Kenmore is ok. Depending on the sale prices at Sears, you may need to pay more for a stainless steel finish. Also, temperatures in the right door ran slightly warm. This is a very well-rounded high-end fridge that you can get at a mid-range price. If stainless steel is a must, upgrade to the 72483 (or to the LG model its based on). Otherwise, the 72482 offers the best value in its class.

Both ovens, clock, all electrical components are out. Range hood keeps blowing lightbulbs. We bought the appliances new in November 2014, and thankfully have an extended warranty which we bought through our builder. Sears initially refused to admit we had a warranty and wanted to charge us a 75.00 service fee plus parts and labor. After pulling out all paperwork and calling back to Sears they admitted we purchased the 5 year warranty. We are still waiting to see how the repair service goes. But really - 1.5 year old ProSeries Double Oven & Convection - out completely. POOR QUALITY, I will never buy Kenmore again... Buyer beware.

Kenmore oven Model 790.9745 - We purchased our house in July 2014 and didnt notice at the time that the front glass of the oven was missing. We ordered a new glass front, installed it and a few months later, the front glass exploded and went all over the kitchen. Then we realized that must have been why the glass was missing when we bought the house. We replaced the glass again and the other day the same thing happened. Three times in three years. Each time someone was standing near the oven while it was baking at 350 degrees when the glass exploded. We were lucky no one got hurt.It was unusual that the dogs or kids werent in the kitchen with us at the time as they usually are! In addition to the glass exploding three times that we know of, the control panel had a F-10 error which is run away temperature. The smoke detectors went off in the house to alert us to that problem due to the extreme heat coming from the oven. This oven needs to be recalled. It seems like this is a problem many people have had in reading the reviews!

I used the self cleaning on the bottom oven. I did it according to the instructions in the manual. The walls in the bottom oven expanded so much that the racks will not stay up. It is not under warranty! This has never happened before to the other ranges we have owned and we have spent a lot more money on this range! Its a hazard when the racks fall I have to prop them up on empty pans to use the oven. We have been loyal Sears customers for years but now we will never purchase from Sears again!

My husband and I went to Sears appliance in Clifton March 6, 2014. The salesperson was rushing to make a sale, but we insisted on asking questions like, Can the microwave be used with the rack that is inside it? He told us they sell them with the rack because it can be used with the rack. We paid $400 for the Kenmore over the range microwave oven. We even purchased the extended warranty. With both the manufacturers warranty and the extended warranty we felt safe. Well, the microwave caught on fire and when we called we got a royal run-around for 3 hours. Sears blamed the manufacturer, the manufacturer blamed Sears, then Sears blamed me for using the microwave. The consumer is now blamed for using the appliance as the sales person said it could be used. This microwave has a rack to be used when cooking. It worked well for 6 months, then it caught on fire. When we asked about the warranty and manual, it turns out that the consumer is at fault no matter what happens. My house could have caught on fire. I have a microwave oven that should not be sold because of its tendency to catch on fire or blow up. The techs used the words blow up, not me. It is a fire hazard. Sears will neither replace nor will they repair the microwave. The people at Sears dont know that Kenmore is a part of that company and that they have the same numbers. Its ridiculous. I took pictures of the charred section. I thought Sears was better than that. I guess the best suggestion is dont buy microwave ovens from Sears. I checked other reviews and they all give terrible reviews. I should have read those first.

On opening the Kenmore convection wall oven door, the handle was loose and when I pulled on it, the entire glass door shattered, cutting my hand, ruining food on the counter, spraying glass as far as 12 from the oven. Using a whisk broom, regular broom and the vacuum, we were able to get most of the glass up and then we washed all of the kitchen rugs. If a small child or one of our pets had been next to me, some serious harm may have resulted. I have read about other customers having this problem and that replacing the door is not a safe option - it can happen again. Its a serious design flaw.I have spent at least an hour or two so far on the phone with Sears and Kenmore, last night immediately after the explosion and then again this morning. They are willing to send a repair tech to assess the problem at a cost to me of $99 because I have no extended warranty. NOT FAIR! This is their problem and they should offer ways to replace the oven with a better design or recompense me so that I can get a safe oven.

I own a Kenmore Range Model # 790.97453804. Its about 5 years old. Last night just after dinner the glass on the front of the door exploded! Shattering into pieces all over our kitchen for no apparent reason. I contacted two numbers, one for Sears, and one for Kenmore. Neither customer service person would do anything to listen to my problem or what happened. Like little programmed robots they repeated over and over it is out of warranty and they will send a technician out to assess what needs to be fixed at which time I can pay them for the repairs plus labor or pay for the service call. I decided to go online and order the parts myself. During the course of conversation with the repair specialist I find out: 1) This is a known issue. 2) The stove was manufactured by Frigidaire. 3) Its an issue with insulation in the door frame (part #7 on the diagram of the door). 4) The manufacturer recommends you replace it every 18 months. To which I responded, and how are we supposed to know that? Technician responded I am the parts specialist and we have the resources from the manufacturer. Its extremely sad that something as dangerous as this can continue and nobody is doing anything about the defective product.

I have always purchased Kenmore appliances and I am terribly sorry they are defunct. My Kenmore washer is 35 years old, drier 30 years old... fridge 15 years old. I had to purchase a new stove two years ago and bought a Maytag for $2100. It lasted just two years and the computer system had to be replaced. $900 repair bill. Not happy about that.

The performance is to die for, just a bug load. It clean so deep you can smell even if its just water. But the performance is one of a kind and will stick to Kenmore product from now on. I have had plenty of Whirlpool washers and dryers but this Kenmore is one of a kind machine. I have had it for a couple years where my Whirlpool pool last less than a year. The appearance comes to mind when you get home and have extra space. Looks small but the big deep drum holds a lot of clothes for that big load you got just sitting around. The values of the washer and dryer is outstanding. I prefer Kenmore over any other companies. The value of the performance and the price range is up anyones alley.

I turned my oven on to warm up leftovers. 20 minutes later, after I have taken the food out and turned the oven off, I smelled burning odor. My oven burners were red hot and I could not turn it off. My husband had to cut it off by throwing the breaker. Had I walked out after turning the oven off thinking it was off, my house would have burned down. This has happened so much. After reading all the incidents online, I’m afraid to buy another Kenmore. Several models are being recalled for some reason. Mine is not.

2 years ago we bought a Kenmore oven. After several months of having it, I decided to use the self cleaning option. Our oven had no built up grease, and it really wasnt dirty because I take really good care of my things. I read the directions and proceeded. I have done this many times before with other stoves and no problems. After an hour I started smelling an odd odor. My husband said, that is normal, that is the cleaning odor you are smelling from the burn off of the cleaning process. I said I know that smell you are talking about and this seems different. It smells like burning wires or rubber. He said dont worry. After 1 1/2 hours it looked like there was smoke in the kitchen and I said I was too scared to leave the oven on, and the smell just got worse. I shut the stove off and waited until you were allowed to open it. The very top of door turned a yellow brown and the seal around the glass on the inside oven door melted. I am horrified to think what would of happened if I kept the stove on the time the manual said to? I have never used the self cleaning option again. Sears refused to do anything about it. We wanted the door replaced and they suggested a fifty dollar gift card instead! We are now having to replace this stove because I am afraid to use it. Several times after that sometimes when you would turn it on, there would be an unexplained smell, like burning. I was really scared the other day, I turned it on to my normal cooking temp. of 350 and it smelled like wires burning. I quickly turned it off and will now never buy a Kenmore or a stove from Sears again!!!

Just bought a new Kenmore Elite Oven along with a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator & a Bosch Dishwasher from local Sears store 8/2/2013. 4 1/2 months later as I am preheating the oven I hear the little fans inside making terrible noises. Then, BOOM. All lights go out on oven & top eyes. It threw my 50 amp breaker. My husband said do not touch it! It had to have been strong to flip that breaker. Has anyone else had problems with their ovens? I called Sears & they said 2 weeks before a repairman could come! So, I cannot cook for my family for over 2 weeks not counting how long it will take for them to get the parts!!!

Whenever I bake something in the oven about 1/2 hour into the cooking process, the screen lights up with F10 and the oven beeps. The only way to stop the beeping is to turn the oven off. When I turn it on again, it beeps 10 minutes later. It is impossible to cook anything, very frustrating and not normal. The stove is approximately 5 years old.

For some time this has been happening, the stove top range says hot and it even stays on when it is suppose to be off. One night, I passed by the stove and noticed that the range was high orange-having been for some time. I know I have to take the plug out in order for it to turn off and stay off.

Love this ice maker and cold water. Very economical also. Has shelves that you can move to suit your needs and easy to clean. The side of the refrigerator has so much room for milk, soda. They can fit any size soda bottle. Its 25 cubic. It is fantastic and meets all my family needs. You can arrange the shelves for height to fit your family needs. It has 2 drawers on the bottom for vegetables and cold cuts. Its freezer has loads of shelves and a huge slide out bin on the bottom. It freezes excellent, nothing is ever soft. I own the stainless steel one. It is very attractive and easy to clean with Windex and paper towels. I love the sleek modern look in my kitchen. It goes with any color on any other appliances you might own. It really looks like an expensive appliance but it was very reasonable price at my Sears store. It freezes very fast so food is not ruined and nothing has to be thrown out which saves you lots of money in the long run.

This range has a vent in the rear area of the burners. When I run the oven, very hot air blows out into the room from the oven. It is so hot that I cannot use the oven at all during the summer months and have burned my fingers by touching this unused part of the range too. I live in the CA central valley and have good air conditioning but it heats up my whole kitchen, running for up to 30 minutes after the oven/broiler has shut off. The manual confirms that heat from the oven comes thru the vent. I have never had a gas oven that does this. I paid $1274.99 plus tax & delivery for the stove in December of 2011 when remodeling. I had hoped for a good stove to last for a long time. Secondly, when you set the oven for 350 Degrees, it runs so cold that I have to set it up to at least 375 to complete the baking. I am so disappointed with my purchase that I have decided not to buy any more from Sears.

Very good product. The refrigerator was a plain Jane white and it looked clean. It was just right for our little family but our family got larger and it started to get cramped and thats part of the reason we bought another one. But its performance stood up. For over 6 years it was time for an upgrade but it has done a good job. It was a fair value for the time most refrigerators were in that price range at the time and it was a reputable company with a good name.

I tried to contact customer service and was transferred 6 times, then hung up on! The Kenmore Elite Range of 5 years almost burned my home down this morning. When I called to ask for assistance to determine if the range was safe to be in my home, they wanted to charge me $25 to just talk to someone! Then, they wanted to charge me $89.99 to send some to my home! Yes, I am furious that this company just wanted to collect money and would not help. Last year I purchased the Kenmore 73059 fridge from Sears to replace the 6 year old Kenmore French door fridge that I purchased from Sears that died. First of all, the water dispenser leaked. The tech blamed it on low water pressure in my home, but the old (6 year old) fridge didnt leak. Now, mere weeks out of warranty, the new fridge is dead. All customer service could say was, You know its out of warranty. You should have purchased one of our home warranties. Do NOT purchase Kenmore appliances. They are unreliable pieces of junk!!! And they do NOT stand behind their products. Oh, and the microhood (over-the-range microwave) I purchased 7 years ago needed a new magnetron at 51 weeks old (at least it was covered under the warranty). Note it has a bad humidity sensor (at 7 years old).

Kenmore Model 790.92202014 Oven Control Meltdown - I bought this range in early 2011 as an upgrade to my old Whirlpool range. Just shortly after it went out of warranty, the oven control unit failed. I called a repairman and a new one was ordered and replaced by him. Less than a year later, the unit failed again, so I sent the defective unit back to the provider and they sent me a replacement. This lasted less than a year again until 3-2013, only this time it blew the breaker (it never had done that before). Upon removing the back cover, I was horrified to find the oven plug that plugs into the control unit melted! I only can say Im glad it didnt start a fire. Im writing this complaint to warn people of a possible fire hazard. Im junking this range.

I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago with no response, so I contacted Kenmore yesterday regarding the self-cleaning of the gas range which left spots on the bottom of my oven. I did everything the manual stated to do and also took out the racks and self cleaned them myself. The representative on the phone told me to put a hot cloth with white vinegar over the area, and then I may have to rub the area, if that didnt work to take a razor blade and lightly go over area and the spots would be removed. After trying both methods neither worked. I phoned again and another representative told me she could have a tech come out the following day but it would cost me $75.00 or $39.00 a month to cover all appliances in the house. I told her absolutely not and informed her that I would not be purchasing anymore Kenmore products. Then out of curiosity I wondered how much the part would cost just to replace it and after researching on the internet the part was $60.00. So therefore I would have had a tech come out for $75.00 then probably charge me at least $100.00 for the part and to replace it, what a rip-off. Other customers please do research before falling for this scam.

Had it for several years. Has worked perfectly. Mother bought and now I have it. Has been clean many times. I remember many holidays and family get togethers. It cleans up easily and has been in many a picture as our family gathered in Moms kitchen. I have also owned a Kenmore stove. It lasted so long I could no longer find parts for it.

Well the plastic disk in the roof of my oven is melting and has burn marks. We dont have a warranty or service contract with Sears so they want to charge us $249 to come and LOOK at it. Hello, our microwave is melting and burning inside and this is OUR issue? Sounds like a serious defect. Someone wrote in the Sears website with the same question and it was never answered. So I know I cant be alone in this melting disk microwave issue. Kenmore, WTH!? Will NOT buy from Sears or Kenmore.

I have loved my Kenmore Elite range model 79098023802 made by Electrolux for 6 years until this weekend. The range expands when cooking and the racks fall to the bottom causing everything to spill. I contacted Sears and was told that this happens after using the self cleaning feature which apparently damages the oven walls, the oven will now expand when using the oven making the racks fall. I would have to have the whole interior replaced for $300.00. When I asked if this would happen again after replacing the interior I was told it was possible. This is clearly a manufacturer defect and Sears/Electrolux should stand by their product regardless if it is under warranty. My husband is recently unemployed and we are unable to fix the problem which Sears/Electrolux should take responsibility for a faulty product!!

It is big enough to put all my dishes and pots and pans silver wares, glasses. It very good on doing the complete job so I would recommend this dishwasher to family and friends. This machine has a sleek color that goes with all your appliances, stove, refrigerator, microwave, even tile. It would be a very good choice for anyone. The value is money well spent. All the extras you will need, so dont hesitate get one. Best value.

We had both the washer and dryer and they were, although basic, very efficient. The pair was relatively quiet, and the washer had an automatic bleach dispenser. The dryer did a fair job. I believe these were near bottom of the cost curve. Even though we replaced both units, they were both in good operating condition after ten years. We gave them to a neighbor who had rental properties and they are still going strong there. There were some options that we did not have, and that we wanted, so we upgraded and looked quite awhile before deciding. We wanted an HE unit, and we wanted the bells and whistles that tell you when stuff is done. We wanted more settings on the dryer. So we went to Sears and actually found something that suited us very well. We ended up, however, purchasing Whirlpool, because of the customer service at Lowes. The units were white. Dirt tended to accumulate under the lid of the washer and it needed wiped out regularly (which probably should be done at any rate). They were, as I said, pretty basic. White, utilitarian. Kenmore appliances, of any type (and weve had several so I can say this from first-hand experience) are some of the best appliances available anywhere. The units range from basic to sophisticated, and the price tag increases as the options are added. In the long run the value is, in my opinion, excellent. I would highly recommend any Kenmore appliance.

Kenmore appliances used to be reliable but have gone down so much that my husband as a builder, after using them for over 15+ years finally had to recently switch brand/distributors. Where to begin?! Less than one month after installation the refrigerator ice maker broke. Fixed it and it broke again. Now we just buy ice. We are so sick of dealing with appts etc. Its loud and seems to always be making all kinds of crazy noises. Our double oven also new - from the get go convection fan wasnt and still isnt working properly even after being “fixed”. Top element rattles loud even though screwed in tight, service tells us its because the inside is made so cheap they all rattle even if tightened - nothing they can do about it. So every time we cook we have to listen to a loud rattle. Every day I am reminded how much I despise Sears and Kenmore appliances for the garbage they sold us, wasted our money, and didnt stand behind. Our flat top stove is the only thing I love.

New stove < 7 months old, on 07/26/2014 @ 0300 cold and unused for days, the lower oven front door glass exploded all over my kitchen like a small bomb. Terrified my wife, and we had glass over everything in the kitchen even well above the level of the door... counters, pictures on the wall, etc... Sears-Kenmore personnel most unhelpful in regards to servicing the warranty and providing corrective action. This company is a dead-man walking in regard to customer service... When you google this Kenmore exploding oven door, there are thousands of cases on the net. I wish I had been bright enough to google it thusly before the purchase. The stove was not cheap. An expensive lesson...

I purchased a Kenmore Electric Smoothtop Range Model #79092302014 in May 2012. In February this year (2016) the baking element stopped working. I called Sears (where I had purchased it) and they told me I needed a new baking element for $118.25 plus $10 shipping (!), so I ordered it. The repairman suspected the problem might not really be the baking element at all, but since Sears was so positive that was it, he installed the new baking element. It did not work! So I called to Sears to ask how to return it and they told me it was not returnable since it had been installed. They went on to say that if I hadnt installed it, they would take it back! This made no sense at all -- how on earth would one know it didnt work if one did not install it?The rep told me it was just too bad, that I was stuck with the new $130 part, and that Id just have to buy a new range. Unless I wanted to pay Sears to send out a repairman for a flat fee of $120 before making any repairs, but since it was out of warranty it was unlikely that whatever the problem really was would be covered. After only 2-1/2 years! Kenmore used to be the best! Now, theyve slipped so far that I will never buy another Kenmore appliance. I will definitely report this to the CEO of Sears.

I built a new home and upgraded all my kitchen appliances to Kenmore Elite. The glass top electric stove has a defective part and Kenmore will not stand behind it. The smallest burner stopped working 13 months after installation. I was told to buy the extended warranty and they replaced the part. Now, three years later, the same part is not working again. I cannot believe that this part is broken twice in five years. There is certainly something wrong with this stove and Kenmore should stand behind their merchandise. As a result, I have half a stove-top and that is it. Sears and Kenmore refused to admit that they are responsible for fixing this.

I bought my Kenmore Elite Slide in then end of March 2010. It was beautiful. I had it about 2 or 3 weeks and made a lasagna. The rack fell down. It made a mess. I wiped it up as best I could and waited a couple of weeks to run the clean cycle. Our oldest was graduating and I wanted to show off my new kitchen with a clean oven. The clean cycle worked fine but afterwards it would not heat. It took the repairman over six weeks to come out and then another three months to put in a new part. This happened two more times since then. The last time I told the repairman I was going to run a clean cycle as soon as he left, I did and afterward it worked. Yeah! We replaced two of the racks also. My turkey fell out at Thanksgiving, my primerib at Christmas. I cleaned the oven again Dec 27,2011 and the repairman is supposed to come today. I paid over $2300 for this oven. I thought I was purchasing a top of the line product. I feel I should be able to clean it everyday if I want and I shouldnt have to worry about myself or my family being severely burned and maimed making a meal.

My husband and I purchased a Sears Kenmore Stove 15 months ago. Starting in January we had problems with the electronics. We called and it took a repairman 3 weeks to evaluate the stove as he had no idea what was wrong with it. He ordered parts and we called to make another appt when the parts arrived. That took two weeks. He came to install the new parts and found out they were the wrong parts. Another two weeks went by and repairman came and installed new electronic system in stove. We had inquired about another stove but they refused and said this one could be fixed. Within an hour of him leaving the electronics went out again.Called and made another appt in two weeks time. He came out again and just rewired the original parts and from then on it seemed fine till tonight. We used the oven last night it was fine and came home today and the entire display on the stove is out. No lights to use the oven whatsoever. We had not taken the extended warranty because our parents had Kenmores for years. We are on a fixed income and do NOT have the money $90 service call and replacement parts of $360 - to spend on the stove. It would be more than we paid for the stove in the first place. I have tried every Sears # I can find and no one is willing to help me - they just say what do u want me to do. I want my stove fixed the right way and so it lasts.

Sears Kenmore Elite Convection Microwave Hood - Paid over $600 on sale for this item in July, 2012. Was installed about three months later. Now, as of April 2016, the microwave no longer works. For about the last three months, the microwave would work if I jiggled the door a couple of times after setting the time - however, randomly, it would turn itself off in the middle of the cooking cycle. Now, no matter what I try to do to get the oven to work, nothing! This is the last Kenmore appliance I ever buy. Remodeled the kitchen in 2012 and purchased all new Kenmore Elite appliances. After the experience with this microwave, I am done with Kenmore. I would hope that a microwave which retails for over $900 would last a little more than a few years!

We purchased Kenmore washing machine 110.26132410 in March 2016. It has been the “washing machine from hell.” First I noticed the huge amount of lint in the filter of the dryer (same dryer I had with the old washer) when I laundered towels, and these towels were becoming frayed and worn. Then I noticed that there were holes in some towels, as if eaten out by bleach. I had used only as much bleach as indicated in the manual and put it in the bleach dispenser. Finally before my one year warranty ran out, I called for a technician. He found nothing wrong, but noticed that the bleach on my shelf was the “splash-less” type. He said that the bleach just goes to the bottom of the tub and could just stay there and not mix with the water enough and therefore get on the towels. He suggested that I use the “liquid” type bleach. There was no mention in the manual to use only the liquid bleach. I will say that there have been no new holes in my towels, but my towels have continued to wear out at an unusually high rate, and the lint filter on the dryer is still completely full after each load. I also noticed that this washer did not clean well and sometimes noticed that some clothes were not even wet. When I bought this, I had thought that the feature of “deep fill” would be useful, but found that it could only be used with “heavy duty” setting or above, not for “normal” or below. This washer has proven to be very unsatisfactory, and I will buy a new washer when I can afford to do so.

We purchased the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range Model 790 in Nov. 2011
We purchased the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range Model 790 in Nov. 2011 & contrary to our usual approach, bought the 3-year extended warranty in part because the stove was expensive, being on sale for almost $1800. On Oct 30, 2014, the oven would not heat & a technician replaced the upper oven bake ignitor. Whew!...we thought. Lucky for us we had the extended warranty. But wait...on Feb. 9, 2015, with the extended warranty expired by about 2 1/2 months, the oven was turned on for use. While waiting for it to pre-heat, the oven started beeping wildly, then a terrible electrical burning smell flooded the house. My husband raced to the kitchen to see flames shooting out of the vents in the back. He managed to get the fire out and the gas turned off. The entire backside of wires was charred. We took photos & went to Sears where the Manager told us there was nothing he could do. He said it was up to the Service (1-800-4-MY HOME). We were incredulous that Sears does not have its own managers making these types of customer service decisions, but rather that the repair service to which they contact has that authority! I reminded him this was not a user error in that we did not set off a grease fire, but that the stove CAUGHT ON FIRE! We suggested that we thought Sears should take that very seriously, as a house fire could have resulted. He went on to repeat that Service would charge us to come out to verify & assess the damage & likely offer us no satisfaction. We previously bought appliances from Sears, but no longer. All our friends are incredulous that Sears is not replacing this stove.

Amazing. The dishes came out very clean and no water spots. Even takes off caked on food. Very fast washing and quiet. I would recommend to anyone who needs a new one. Compact but very roomy inside. It fit well in my kitchen and my kitchen is definitely on the smaller side. I have dinner parties often and it can hold all of the dishes. The washer is beautiful. Water spots dont stick and fingerprints are easily wiped off with a wet rag. I prefer the black because it looks sleek and fits in with the kitchen. It was a great price. I am always looking for a bargain and after comparing models and prices this one was the best option and easily within my price range.

I have always trusted Kenmore appliances to deliver value, performance and reliability. The fact that they are readily available in most areas in America matters since I move a lot. Its nice to know a dealer is nearby for necessary repairs, or more likely, to buy a newer version. There were many models to choose from so I could get the one that fit my apartment situation perfectly. I had a basic model and it was a size good there but also transitioned to my first house with no problem. It was very easy to clean, and keep clean. However its always a battle to chose between amount of features versus price. And more variety in shelving arrangements would have been nice. Gallon milk jugs and 2 liter soda bottles are a challenge in smaller fridges.

I did choose the slide-in model not realizing that there is an oven size compromise, so it is no fault of Kenmore. The programming features are too many to understand, too. But oven and warming drawer work great and the placement of top burners is good, however, I wish there was a medium-size burner for saucepans and also wish I could use cast iron on the smooth top. After 20 yrs with my old Kenmore I just bought a new machine through Sears Can...I deliberately did not buy an HE. I am a weaver and when I finish things Ive woven, I need to control the washing process. I did not realize that the lid-lock is continually in effect. Stop the lock and I cant watch the washing process. Then I discover there is no soak cycle. (I also run a small guest house and towels frequently need to soak before a wash cycle.) What designer/programmer, in his infinite idiocy, chose to set the default at empty?! This is moronic! Fill the machine and get distracted and leave the lid up--it empties. Realize I set the wrong cycle and change the dial--it empties. Close the lid and let it sit--it empties.Add to this the fact that the towels are NOT coming out clean. I have tried different cycles, more detergent, hotter water. I have washed twice. I have let things soak. (Put the drain hose into the machine, let it drain back into the drum, pull the electrical plug. Let sit. Put hose into clean garbage can, insert electrical plug and now, even if I want to wash, it drains--into the can. Start from beginning and bucket soapy water into drum as it begins to fill. Start wash. For this I paid nearly $700 CAD tax included. Im putting it on Kijiji as soon as I can find a Speed Queen replacement. And am trying to get my old machine back in service until then. Never again, Kenmore.

The value of this washer and dryer is very least expensive but is stylish enough to look like youre not poor and cant afford a nice washer. I love these models of washers and dryers. It took me 2 years to get my oven fixed after I moved into my new house. I put up with what I now call customer abuse from Sears which included the franchise owner calling me a idiot for calling the 800 number in case of malfunction to the oven. Sent off for repairs 3 times for weeks. A young repair boy came to the house and told me it could not be fixed and when I slapped papers that I was holding down on the kitchen table he claimed I had assaulted him. And when Sears finally sent out another repairman a year later, it was the same boy and I refused him entry into my house! Finally a local repairman replaced the motherboard and it has worked well until it simply blew up today.I will never ever again in my life buy anything... absolutely nothing! From Sears ever again! It is overpriced junk made in a foreign country. They are bleeding every penny they can get from a name that use to mean quality, workmanship, and service. They cannot even be civil to customers anymore. I would not buy a speck of dust from them. If there was. Rating lower than one dot, that is the rating I would give Sears for anything! Kenmore Elite dual oven Electric Range Model 790. Purchased this stove in late 2009. Within months, the touch sensors on the back panel would work only intermittently. Called Sears to have repairs made to my new stove and they walked us through pressing lots of buttons on the display board to reset it. Problem persisted, but didnt have the time/energy to look into it further. Months later, the top oven stopped working correctly. Not sure what happened, but anything we cooked was raw on top and burned to a crisp on the bottom. A few more calls later to their service department where, once again, they walked us through the process of turning the top oven on to as hot as it would go. Recording the temperature using a thermometer we had to place in the oven, turn the oven down, wait for it to cool down, record the temp, etc., etc.Again, we gave up and decided my time is more valuable than a working top oven and had already spent HOURS on the phone being shuffled around from department to department (Warranty Dept, Customer Service, Customer Solutions, Home Warranty, back to customer Service where I was transferred incorrectly back to Home Warranty...). So, we lived with an intermittently working board and now a clearly improperly heating top oven. BUT - we didnt buy the extended warranty so we were now out of luck since a year has since passed.Fast forward three blissful (not) years with this piece of crap oven and we start to notice that the racks in the bottom oven seem to be very loose. Hmmmm. Take all racks out, rearrange them thinking that perhaps they have designated slots in which each rack fits, but they all seem to have the same problem. On the phone to Customer Service we go... And again we are transferred all over the organization until finally we land upon a person that might be able to help me. IF we are willing to pay $280 for a service contract upon which they will send a tech out to make repairs up to $500. If I dont want to go that route, I could always sign up for a Home Warranty ($55/month for 1yr contract or $35/month for 1yr contract for appliances) OR a Service Smart Agreement - again for repairs UP TO $500. After that, I pay for it... Oh yeah, I had to pay either a $90 or $60 service call each time a tech came out.At this point, my life is getting shorter and shorter and I decide I cant spent any more time being dragged around by the nose by Sears any longer and wave the white flag - until one day, I leaned down (to the floor, because this is where the bottom oven is) to lift a roast out of the oven and the racks suddenly collapse spraying bubbling, scalding juice all over the front of my arms, chest and legs. The oven walls seem to be expanding every time we turn this thing ON! Im now down to ONE rack in the bottom oven, a non-functional top oven (unless you like your cookies and biscuits raw on the top and charred on the bottom) and an intermittently working sensor - that, by the way, I rely on to use the top burners. If I could give this stove - and Sears Customer Service (Im looking at you, Cheryl) negative stars, I would.I tried today to give it one more go at getting this thing serviced by Sears since the aluminum foil that Ive had to wrap around the sides of the racks in the oven (so that they will take up some space and not collapse on me under the weight of a casserole dish) is going to need to be beefed up soon, but it was once again fruitless. I spent HOURS on the phone going through the merry-go-round of transfers from one department to another and in the end, spoke with NINE different people in different departments until I ended with the above esteemed Cheryl in Customer Solutions who listened patiently to my story (which, by this time I had been a little sick and tired of reiterating) and went on to tell me that since I hadnt purchased an extended warranty through them that I was out of luck.Really? Even though my first call to complain about this happened within months of owning it - when it was under the one year warranty? Again, she called to my attention that I never even had a service person out to my house. Yeah, no kidding Cheryl, because they had ME to do the work for them - which I did, by spending hours over the phone pressing this button, relaying the info to the tech on the phone, pressing that button, relaying the info. etc, etc. Sears did a really good job of stringing me along long enough that I was out of warranty and they could wash their hands of the whole thing. For generations, my family has been die-hard Sears appliance customers and have always had excellent products and service. That is a thing of the past. Get you in, sell you the appliance, and get you to spend even MORE money on a warranty. God knows one shouldnt expect a $2000 stove to last longer than a year... Ill be buying my appliances locally from here on out.

My mom has had this model stove for a while but after the first year the racks started falling down. The oven expands and the racks fall down. Last thanksgiving I lost the bird and was pissed, almost burnt my entire arm. Now its an everyday occurrence these days to the point that anyone that tries to use the oven lose rack of items. Ive burn my hand twice, and my nieces and nephews are not allowed to use the oven. MY mother is 75 and had not had a new stove ever and she saved up years to buy this piece of **!!! VERY DANGEROUS OVEN. HOW COULD THEY NOT RECALL THIS DANGEROUS OVEN???? IT is a BIG safety hazard. Last year we called Sears and they would not help in any way. WHY would a company wait for LAWSUIT before they correct a problem. THIS IS SO VERY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE TO USE. NEVER BUY KENMORE stoves. I will be posting this on my several twitter feeds and Facebook profiles. This is a terrible way to treat a senior citizen!!!!

This range has given us problems since the beginning. The racks dont slide well and can cause burning because they get stuck when trying to move them in and out. The range was almost brand new and I had to have the panel with controls replaced because it cracked, then a year later we had to have the whole cook top & burners replaced. Every time I use the self-cleaning feature, the top of the oven door gets a burn mark on it so now it is all brown making it look terrible in our new kitchen. It even melted the whole side of our microwave on the counter nearby in the self-cleaning mode. I had a tech out and he said it was safe and just to keep using it. I dont feel safe and it looks like trash. I called the resolution hotline and got a person who was from another country and I couldnt understand him so I asked for the corporate office. I was put on hold then disconnected immediately.I called right back and again, got a person I could not understand... She refused to give me the corporate number but transferred me. Now they tell me it should be safe and the burned top of the oven door is just cosmetic and they will not replace the door or the range. This is unacceptable and no consumer should have to accept having a range in their new kitchen that is brown and burned. The fact that it also melted the microwave nearby on the counter, does NOT make me feel safe in any way. The representative said I had to have 4 documented service calls for this problem and that the tech that was out to check it, stated it was safe. It is the most frustrating thing & I will not purchase any Sears products in the future, nor should you!

I purchased a custom home a few years ago and the microwave and oven combo were installed. The paint has peeled inside my microwave and is now rusted. I have called customer service and they advise purchasing a whole new set, although this is almost new or very gently used. Customer service is not helpful (extended wait hold time; ignorant product sales representatives who transfer to other departments with ignorant personnel). When I asked to speak to a supervisor the call was dropped...This has happened on numerous occasions, so it is not just a fluke. I will NOT purchase ANY KENMORE product ever! I advise others to consider purchasing any other brand but KENMORE.

Have had no problem with it and seems to be very efficient. Last year the power went out for two days and the food was still cold. We had not opened the door. 24 cubic foot, held everything we needed and more with this side by side. Eggs milk and other things with plenty of room to spare. When we bought a birthday cake last year that fit also. I really liked the stainless steel, was not only easy to clean but matched the dishwasher and the cook top. The black water dispenser also was a good match with the range hood. It was definitely worth what we paid for it and they took the old one with them after they installed this. It looked really nice there especially with the stainless steel.

Kenmore glass top electric stove model 790 purchased 2011 - I used the broiler to cook a burger. When it was done, I turned off the oven and left the door ajar. After 15 minutes I heard the oven door fall off, first one side then the other. While screwing the handle screw back on, the whole tempered glass oven window exploded. Thank goodness I had glasses on, a thick shirt, pants and socks or I would have been cut up. My little dog was just behind me but I blocked the flying glass that flew onto counters and into the next room. When I checked the model no. online I found out that so many of this model have had the glass door explode, that pressure was put on Sears to recall this model. Those who got new glass doors had them explode again and some people had them explode a third time. Also luckily the oven had cooled down when it exploded but many people had hot glass shot at them. This model shouldnt even be on a showroom anymore.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite Oven Model #790 980 23800 about 4 years ago. Cost over $1,600.00. In the past several months I have noticed the oven racks will fall down. This can be a hazard because of the heat of the pan and possible spilling of contents. I logged onto the web and found a Kenmore site that had a few complaints on this oven. I reached out to a rep there who did have a repair man come out. He stated that it would cost $600.00 to fix, which is unacceptable.Went back to Kenmore and they advised me that since I do not have an extended warranty I would need to pay. They would negotiate the price. I think this is a defect, not something that the consumer should be responsible to fix. According to Kenmore rep if it is a defect then the manufacturer, Frigidaire would be responsible.Today I called Frigidaire and was told once the name Kenmore is on the product and it is sold by Kenmore the liability and rights are Kenmore. Waiting to hear back from Kenmore on Frigidaire’s response. The issue is I as a consumer bought a costly product from Kenmore and unless I buy an extended warranty they do not stand behind the product. Not to mention this issue is a hazard. Someone could get burnt very easily when a hot pan falls in an oven. Please let me know if there is any other steps I can take. Thank you.

Model: Kenmore Stove Model 970-687131. The stoves finish was sold as a stainless steel model, but really its just a stainless steel coated finishing not at all stainless steel at all.. I feel duped of course, because the FINISH is so terribly done its wearing out fast... (see picture attached). The proof in the pudding is that the VENT hole from the oven on the left hand side has caused the finishing to come right off. One day i was cleaning the stove and bam the finish right above the venting area washed right off... Not exactly what I call QUALITY...Next time I intend to take my trusty super magnet with me anywhere I intend to buy stainless appliances and ensure that they product is exactly that, stainless steel. Magnets dont stick to stainless steel 18/10 or higher far as I know and that should be proof enough, plus I can always ask more questions and check demo models more closer. I am definitely not planning on another KENMORE forever here after. Thats for sure...

We purchased Kenmore 790.80332310 in April, 2018. We upgraded all of our appliances. We had our original Kenmore appliances for 20 years. On New Years Day, 2019 I cooked on top of our Kenmore range and in the oven. While cooking the fan from the Kenmore over-range microwave automatically came on as usual. After a period, it stopped. I had not used the microwave at all that day. I completed cooking on the range top but the food in the oven continued to bake. I walked in the adjacent Family Room to watch the Rose Bowl parade. While sitting watching the parade, I began smelling a strange odor. While walking into kitchen, my husband and I heard a loud boom. I walked to the microwave, there was a flame inside the cabinet and the glass turn table was totally shattered. We moved into action to smother the fire to prevent the flame from accessing the magnetron. The next day, we called Sears Service. The technician was scheduled for a 12:00 PM to 5 PM window of time. At 6:19 PM, I received a text that technician was on the way. At 7:00 PM I called, dispatcher could not locate technician. A technician was rescheduled for Monday. The technical arrived on Monday and said that he came on Friday but could not see an address (our address is located on our mailbox). When the technician viewed the cabinet of the microwave and he stated that he had never seen anything like that. He called his senior team but stated that he was having difficulty in cell phone service. He could forward photos of the cabinet to the Senior Team. The exterior of the microwave looks brand new. The technician departed. We received an email stating that the fire was caused by customer negligence. Therefore, the warranty was cancelled and no further action would be taken. We called Service. We were told that the microwave was totally burned by us. We explained that this microwave is setting in our cabinet. It is totally burned. If you walked into our kitchen you would never know about the damage within the cabinet. Of course, my husband disconnected the microwave from electricity to prevent another fire from happening. We asked for another technician to make an assessment of the damage. We were told that we would have to pay a service charge for a technician to come out again. We consented to pay the charge for an assessment. Sears then proceeded to attempt to send the same technician again. My husband called in protest. He was told that the particular technician was the technician for this area. We are totally disappointed in this defective product and the Customer Service rendered by Sears. They have no regard for the customers who purchase their products.

We have a Sears Kenmore self-cleaning oven. Last week the broiler came on, when the oven was off! I thought I smelled something hot in the house and found the oven extremely hot, on the verge of being on fire. After shutting off the breaker and allowing the oven to cool, my husband turned the breaker back on. Oven is still off. The broiler came on. We allowed the oven to cool again. My husband removed the back panel and disconnected the broiler. However, we are not comfortable with the stove and will be replacing it - but Not with a Sears product. My daughter had the same range. Two years ago my granddaughter (age 16) was baking cookies. She put a tray of cookies in the oven, left the room and the self-cleaning came on. The cookies started on fire and she could not open the oven because the self-cleaning lock was on. Stove was a total loss. Lousy product.

We purchased a new Kenmore electric range. Within 4 years, the oven box had expanded from the oven heat so that the oven racks no longer fit but fall out of the grooves. When I contacted Sears, they refused to accept responsibility but said they could supply racks that fit at $106.00 + tax and shipping each. I ordered the racks, but they are the same size as the original and Sears said that they cannot help me. I am not alone. Many other consumers have had this same experience. This should never happen. Sears should recall these stoves due to the safety factor alone or at the least, provide wider racks even if we must pay for them to address the problem. I will never purchase another Sears appliance.

My mother is a veteran of WWII but may be defeated by her Sears Kenmore oven. She has a model 790 in wall oven which is an obvious lemon. It will frequently fail to complete a cycle (shuts off before cooking is done) and has ruined several batches of food. The problem appears to be a computer control module. While I was there over the thanksgiving holiday it abruptly locked up (as though about to go into self clean mode) with the holiday turkey inside. Fortunately we were able to locate the plug and unplug the thing (which still did not unlock the oven, but at least the dinner was not incinerated). We were worried about a fire and are grateful that it did not happen while we were out of the room. She has had at least four failures in the last year, but since the problem is intermittent (only once was it still malfunctioning when the tech arrived) it cant be verified for warranty replacement. The available service calls are limited to two days a week by the company Sears contracted with, so almost impossible to get the problem solved. Calls to Sears for repairs are often unreturned. Parts are apparently hard to come by (the control module was replaced, for example, but the part was ordered in February, arrived in August). Really disappointed in Sears... I was raised as a Sears customer, but am alienated by the way they treated my mom and disgusted by the drop in reliability. Used to think I could count on them, but no more.

We purchased this 40 range from Sears & Roebuck brand new with other appliances. They have had problems too & are all too expensive for what you get any more with too many digital, sensitive, & failing parts. We have been purchasing Kenmore products for over 35 years before purchasing these new products. The problems started after the range was less than three years old, but out of warranty. The bake element melted & burned out & melted. The cost of the part alone was over $60.00 for the element. Then three months later the range caught on fire again & the element burned again (the oven was not even turned on), this time the control board & some wiring between the element & the control board also burned. Now in addition to the element needing replacement again, the control board & wiring needs replacement. The cost of the control board alone is nearly $500.00. That is more than the last oven even cost. This oven was over $2000.00 & burning out in less than 10 years with the cost of repairs ridiculous. Something is just not right.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite 790.48883.110 built-in microwave to match my Elite built-in oven. The Elite microwave electronics fried within a few months while still under warranty. The electronics were replaced but fried again a year later while out of warranty. This microwave is a LEMON. There is a design or manufacturing defect in this unit. Sears is retailing the microwave for $2,000 (I paid $1,300). I have a Hamilton Beach microwave that I purchase at Walmart for $65 at it works like a charm. Why cant Sears make a $2,000 microwave that lasts for a year? The fun begins when you contact Sears Customer Care. The first thing that the non-English speaking person told me was that I needed to contact Electrolux because they were the ones who actually made the microwave. Duh? I bought the microwave at Sears and it has Kenmore labeled on the front door! I really dont care which company in China made the unit, Sears is the responsible party! But this is what Sears Customer Care operators are trained to do. After much complaining, I was finally turned over to an English-speaking operator. His job was to sell me a $500 per year insurance policy. I told him, Thanks but no thanks! If I have to spend $500 it will go toward yanking out the Kenmore unit and replacing it with another brand!By the way, the microwave (when actually working) gives off an ear-piercing beep every 15 seconds that is extremely obnoxious. This beep cannot be turned off or adjusted. DONT BUY THIS LEMON OR ANY OTHER APPLIANCES FROM SEARS...!!! Sears used to be a good company but has turned into a pile of horse manure!

Kenmore microwave oven purchased June 16, 2013. Also purchased 2 year extended service agreement. Yesterday, just about 1 year AFTER the extended service agreement expired the oven malfunctioned. When the door is opened to place food inside, the glass tray begins to rotate all by itself, even before any cooking selection is made on the touch pad. There is also the sound of the fan running but the oven itself is off. Once the door is closed, it stops. After food cooks, I open the door to take out food and the glass tray and fan do the same thing. Tried unplugging the unit to see if that would reset it, didnt work. Still malfunctions. This is more Chinese junk with the Kenmore name! Sears makes huge profits by cheating its loyal customers and almost forcing us to purchase expensive service contracts. Ive been a Sears customer since 1992; now that will end. By the time I pay for repair of the 3 year old microwave, it would cost much more than the $160, that included the 2 year service agreement. You cant simply throw it away or place it in the recycle bin. Its only 3 years old! The Panasonic oven it replaced was 23 years old! What does that tell you about the quality of Kenmore products? We are making the Chinese rich while WE are forced to keep buying inferior products made by them.

I purchased a Kenmore stove in September of 2013. The other night after baking a pizza, I turned the stove off by pressing the Stop button on the control panel. The panel started to spark, and then caught on FIRE! I was able to put the fire out, pulled the stove away from the wall, and removed the back panel. The control panel was completely burnt. Sears informed me that I should have bought the Master Protection Agreement for circumstances like this. It is 2 years old. Sears refused to stand behind their product and Vanessa, the company rep, informed me that I should have had it serviced yearly like it states in the manual. Nowhere in the manual does it recommend removing the back panel and checking the motherboard to see if it might potentially catch fire. Sears only attempt to make this right was to try and sell me a protection plan in case it happened again. An internet search showed that Kenmore stoves are known for this problem, but nothing is being done to correct it. I caution any buyer, DO NOT PURCHASE A KENMORE STOVE, and I would highly recommend that due to Sears lack of concern, do not purchase anything from this company.

Purchased a Kenmore Electric Range in March 2017. Last Monday night 11/06, while using the oven at 450 degrees, the glass in the oven door exploded and shattered. 3rd party technician arrived today for service appointment. Opened the door and confirmed the window was shattered (nice work genius) and informed me that it would take two additional weeks for the parts to arrive. In my opinion, if something this violent happens to a product, then I would say its defective. I want my defective stove to be replaced!I have spoke with exactly 10 Sears and Kenmore representatives today and have not received any assistance on the replacement of my defective stove. Even drove down to the store I purchased it from to seek some assistance... That was a useless waste of time! I have even had two representatives tell me that it usually takes seven or eight occurrences or service calls before they deem a product un-repairable and would consider replacing it. So... Kenmore and Sears would rather keep an appliance in service with risk to my family if the window decides to fully explode and shatter, rather than just replacing a range??? I have never experienced such a poor level of customer service as I have today. This is a perfect example of why the Sears Holding stock is only at $4.50 per share this morning and the fact that they are closing another 100+ stores. They treated me like I was some sort of thieve and all I was trying to do is replace a defective range to keep my family safe. What really blew me away!!! I told the last customer service person that Kenmore does NOT stand behind their quality or product! Freddies response was that Kenmore doesnt even produce or manufacture the ranges. They are made by Whirlpool and Kenmore slaps their brand name on the product. Freddie wasnt even fazed, almost like he didnt even care. Guess I wouldnt care either if I was working for a sinking ship!

This was a brand new unit in my brand new house. From day one I had problems with both the oven and microwave. First-after using the microwave for a couple weeks, I noticed the handle had become loose. No problem I thought, Ill just tighten the screws-nope. The screws are not accessible. They are hidden under the plastic frame and are not able to get to. I called Sears authorized service, they came out, and because of the poor design flaw, they had to replace the entire door=$500.00, which was covered. Now the oven, it never has heated properly and when I went to use it, it made a loud humming noise, then when I went to use the broiler, the cooling fan you could hear, was scraping against the sides of something inside. Once again, Sears service was called, came out, had to order a new fan/motor. To access the fan/motor, they had to pull the unit from the wall, and in doing so, tore my wall up a little bit. When they sat it on the floor to work on it, they didnt put anything under it and there were major dents in my new luxury vinyl flooring. They got it repaired, re-installed it and it worked fine until yesterday. The microwave door handle is loose again also. I called Sears service yesterday and explained to them its doing the exact same thing it was when they were here before. The representative informed me it would be a service charge of something like $250.00/hr. I couldnt believe it-I told him its doing the same thing it did before. Their response- their repairs only have a 90 day warranty. I told him I wasnt paying for what obviously is a poorly designed appliance. I informed him I would contact my attorney. Bottom line- every mechanical and electrical device will have its issues over time, to me, its about how the manufacturer stands behind their product. Will not buy a Sears product again.

Their warranty literature says it will be fixed or replaced but thats not how it works out. Most of the issues were with the design of the door latch. This I find is a common issue with microwave ovens. The servicer took over 5 months to figure it out and repair. Now the microwave oven is blowing circuit breaker again but its out of warranty so Sears refuses to cover repairs or replace. Doesnt matter to them they they manufactured a faulty product. Once out of warranty its screw you.

I have had no problems with the refrigerator I bought at Sears. I have had the refrigerator for over 2 years now, and am very satisfied with its operation. It is the three-door model with the freezer on the bottom. I will have to say if you are older, like myself, you would probably do better by getting one with the freezer located in a different place. I find it difficult to bend over or kneel for a period of time to locate something in the freezer. Other than this self-inflicted problem, I would have to say that the Kenmore refrigerator has proven to be an excellent choice.

It was perfect. I would buy another one if I could afford it. It kept everything cooled or frozen exactly how it should. It was HUGE. Lots of room for any size container. The places in the door were awesome. The drawers were big and roomy as well. The freezer side wasnt hampered by the ice maker either. I loved the stainless steel. Easy to clean. Shiny. Sexy. Much better than the typical textured outside of most refrigerators. Smooth. Lovely. It was priced perfectly. Mid-range. It was a scratch and dent model too so there was an additional discount which made it much more appealing to me and much more affordable.

I attempted to retrieve a baked casserole from my Kenmore ceramic-top range/oven and when I bent to reach into the oven, the vented heat blew right at my eyes. I jumped back and almost fell. Eyes were reddened into next day; the left worse than right because I lowered myself with my left side closer to the oven. So far, I enjoy the stovetop and size of the range but the excessive heat at eye level seems like a flaw in the overall design and dangerous. Is there any recall or repair that should be done?

Always wanted a gas stove. However, I did not know that I would dislike the oven! It’s undependable and inaccurate. Love the cooktop a lot. Am replacing the unit with a Kenmore Elite dual fuel as soon as possible.

I have been trying for over a month to get a replacement part for my Kenmore Elite Over the Range Microwave oven. Sears, Searsparts, or even Sears Customer Service is either UNWILLING or UNABLE to fulfill my request. I will NEVER purchase another Kenmore Elite product. The part I needed is just the light socket that shines down on the range. It seems like such a simple request, however my experience has been most frustrating dealing with Sears or their part department. The part I need is shown below.

Ive had this microwave since October 2005. Its never been serviced. It is digital and very modern and sleek looking above the range by the same maker. The displays make it very user friendly. The options for different types of food prep are many. I just cant say enough good things about it.

It was a good size for the apartment and I was in. It was easy to clean, easy to move and I never had any issues with the machine. I would recommend it for others to buy. I would recommend the refrigerator to somebody with a small household. The appearance was fine. It was white. The price was right. I had bought it from a previous owner but generally the brand of this product are priced reasonably. A person can always find a unit in their price range.

I have bought Sears/Kenmore products. Even though today is not like many, many years ago. I dislike going to a hardware store to buy appliances. Cookie-cutter appliances. Just 3 years ago, I purchased a refrigerator, convection stove, and dishwasher.

We have been loyal Kenmore customers since we were married in 1975. Currently we have a Kenmore refrigerator, freezer, stove, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. We have been well served by Kenmore appliances for forty years but our washing machine is extremely frustrating. It is a series 500 high efficiency washer. It is not efficient at all because we frequently have to wash things twice to get them clean. We purchase and use the recommended detergent. It is very slow so it wastes time. I have tried to trick it by adding extra water but that doesnt seem to help. We regret our purchase every week on laundry day. Is Kenmore doing anything to retain dissatisfied customers like us? We are fed up with a all of the problems. If Kenmore will offer a solution to replace the machine I will stay with a Kenmore machine. If not I will buy a different machine.

I should have rated the stove at 5 but I did 4 for selfish reasons. I have had this stove for 15 years and all of the featured functions still work. I’m very satisfied with with the outcome of this stove. The only thing is that after this long time of usage it tends to make an odd sound when it is overheated. It sounds like a fan blowing. Otherwise it works very well.

I bought this washer 6 years ago and honestly I cannot complain. I have a large family, 7 people, counting myself, live in my household and you can imagine the amounts of clothes I wash in a weekend and this washer has never failed me. I am a proud Kenmore owner. I am not a washer owner only, I also have a stove and a fridge, for around the same amount of time and havent had any issues with neither of them.

I bought the Kenmore front loader washer and dryer in burnt orange when we purchased our home. I LOVED them. They worked great for years. We did have a small issue with the vibration and it was loud. We did have an issue with mold, but we bought the special cleaning tabs and kept the door open when not in use. Well, the dryer started going first... not drying well. I would run the dryer 3 times to dry one load. Then the washer went. Door lock would hold laundry hostage... cycles stopping. Id say we got 5 good years out of the dryer and 6 good years out of the washer. We paid through the nose for these things... Really sad.

I have owned numerous Kenmore appliances: refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, stoves and dryers. I have been very satisfied with their products. I highly recommend Kenmore appliances. I prefer them over many more highly advertised brands. I have owned others, had more issues and went back to Kenmore.
