I bought a Pro Series Thermador Dual Fuel 8 years ago. First off, I will say I love the simmer burners. The best feature. However, everything else sucks about this range. The oven is awful, with inconsistent temps. Ive spent $2000 on repairs (3) and Christmas morning after I put breakfast brunch in the oven, it quit working. Ive had it with this piece of junk. I am only thankful that I did not pay the full price of $5800 when I bought it. If you need a high end range, get a Wolf. I am not spending another $800 for another repair on this thing.

Called Thermador when my very expensive microwave-convection ovens quit. Two company names provided, one out of business, other doesnt do Thermador anymore. Find one company an hour away, and they have one person who might get out in the next 2-4 weeks to see what the problem is. Asked customer service for service manual. They refuse to provide them. I CANNOT recommend Thermador to anyone. An appliance you cannot get service on is a waste of money.

As with others, we spent a lot of money on this over/under oven. Looks nice but the internal design is awful. Its been 4 years now and we have had to replace the control boards 3 times already... and it died again a week ago. There is NO support for Thermador appliances in the Dallas area. Parts cost as much as the original unit almost if you can find them. I have replaced the faulty boards 3 times so far, but Im too tired to deal with this anymore. The analog & digital boards run about $600... 3 sets are enough for a new oven. Its a giant rip-off. Where is the quality design & service... missing totally. Were going to purchase a new oven now and it wont be Thermador. In 50 years, I have never experienced such poor design and support. I cant believe Thermador is still in business!

The oven stopped heating and the repair company said we need a new control board. Guess what, Thermador no longer makes the part so the oven needs to be replaced. After talking Thermador customer support guy, I was told that I need to replace the three piece combo even the microwave and warmer are still working. Can you imagine the quality and service they provide for such a high end appliance? My old oven kept working for 30 years. They just assuming we can throw everything out and get new ones every few years? I just dont trust them. Does anyone on this board have gone through similar ordeal? Is it possible to only replace the broken oven? It seems to me these have separate controls and why we have to replace all of them when just one thing breaks. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion.

My very expensive Thermador wall oven has been giving me an F-34 error code. When going online, I see we are one of many consumers experiencing the poor quality of this companys product. As frustrating as it is to need to call out a repairman, even more frustrating is that with so many of us having the issue, the parts are no longer available (or were ever available?) to fix the error. I expect a couple hundred dollar oven to be considered disposable but when you spend several thousand on what is suppose to be commercial quality, you dont expect to have to replace them in a few short years.

The overall performance was just as expected. It performed flawlessly. With its easy to use setup it was perfect for me and my family. There wasnt single thing on there that gave problems or had you questioning. Well for we paid for it its worth every penny we put down into it. I couldnt have been any more satisfied with it than I already am. I would recommend this brand to anyone and have already recommended to everyone I know. We have the stainless steel model with the side by side oven racks and double top cooking ranges and let me just say it looks absolutely stunning in my kitchen. Very sleek and modern look that would make any kitchen look spectacular. The overall size was just perfect for what I needed. Im able to cook multiple things at the same time without crowding my cook area. That goes for the oven and the ranges. If youre like me and have a big family and love to cook great food this is what youre looking for.

After being a happy Wolf user for many years, I purchased Thermador appliances looking to save some money. Big Mistake. The equipment didnt work since installation and was told I have to wait 3-4 weeks for a replacement to get to Puerto Rico from Miami. I called yesterday for an update and was told the replacement will travel from Germany to Miami, and then Miami to Puerto Rico. Who knows how long this will take?! I can still not review the range because I cant use it without the vent hood. Very disappointed and mad at myself for purchasing this brand.

The large oven kept shutting off and the door doesnt shut. Resetting the breaker appeared to fix it, but didnt. Repairman came out and replaced the main board and relay board for $600. Now the large oven works, but the light does not go off in the large oven, and the fan runs continuously after using the small oven until you shut off the breaker. The repairman does not know why. He also informed me that Thermador no longer makes hinges for the large door, so I need to replace the entire door for $1200. Also charged $200 to replace the switch panel on the vent hood, which he was certain would fix the halogen lights. It didnt. Is anyone aware of a class action suit? Hundreds or thousands of complaints at $6-12K per range, it seems like there are millions of dollars to be recovered from Thermador.

This oven has malfunctioned since the day it was installed. It doesn’t heat to the right temperature, it doesn’t maintain the right temperature and nothing ever cooks inside. When using the top oven simultaneously with the bottom oven, the bottom oven automatically cools down. It was finally replaced with a new one and the new one does the same thing. I am going to take the $8,500 loss, and buy a new oven. Also, I would steer clear of Thermador refrigerators as well. They are very poorly designed!

I am an experienced baker of 35 years. We finally finished building our dream house and purchased a Thermador double oven in 2015. It has done nothing but ruin everything Ive baked. Had the service repairman out and was told I wasnt using the settings right. After using the times and settings according to the manual, baked goods turned out worse!I have wasted countless hours and ingredients trying to make something turn out right, adjusting temperatures, times, settings and rack placements. What a huge waste of money and disappointment with this oven. If I could afford to replace it, I would. No help from store we bought it from or Thermador manufacturing. Do not buy a Thermador oven. I would never recommend any products from this company after this experience. For many years, I baked in cheap ovens with great results. This $1,800 appliance has ruined my baking ability since we are now unable to replace it with something that works and unfortunately, it is built into the wall in an expensive cabinet.

The main oven has never held even heating and now Thermador tells me they have discontinued the parts I need to repair the oven. Thermador, Bosch, Gaggenau are all the same company. When my repair company, Complete Appliance, call customer service, they get no satisfactory answer as to why this is happening. They are frustrated and I am frustrated. I am building a new home and will not be using Thermador! If I were told from the beginning this cannot be fixed, I would have gotten a new oven. We are really impressed with our new dishwasher! It is well designed in many ways. Our old DW had a small third top rack, like this one, but the rack in the old one was too shallow to hold things like our frying pan spatula and was fairly useless. This rack holds those utensils nicely and has a super silverware holder built in, so we removed the silverware holder from the lower rack, which makes more room in the lowest rack. Which brings me to another impressive feature. This dishwasher holds a LOT of dishes! The slots are very close together, which made me wonder if there was enough room for the dishes to get clean, but it does a great job of cleaning, even though I follow their recommendation and do NOT rinse my dishes. If you worry about odors like I did, when you shut the door, it REALLY closes tight, so the dirty dishes do not smell up the kitchen. As a final note, the cycle is quick, and the default energy-saving drying works so well that even the bottoms of my coffee mugs, which always used to have a small amount of water that I had to dry by hand , come out completely dry.

We purchased both of these units. Thought we would not have to worry about buying appliances for awhile...wrong!! The panel on the oven, even if you are cooking, turns off... starts beeping with a code f24. Thermador is fully aware of this problem. There is also a recall. If you try using the self-clean feature, the oven can catch fire. I did an online search for this oven. There is a recall -- An 800 number is listed on line for the owner to call. This is to set up a repairman to come out. This site claims they are open to take callers 24/7. I have heard a recorded message that has said, Thank you for calling, a customer service person will be with you shortly. I have heard this message 178 times as of this minute. As for the propane cook top, with the built in BBQ, the flames are so low, I stopped using the cook top, called out a repairman. He said, No way can I increase the flame size. Cost to me -- over $9,000.00, PLUS INSTALLATION. So, if you still want to purchase anything Thermador, you have a problem...it will be on you. You have been warned.

I don’t think I have ever written a review until now. I am just heartbroken. We spent $30k on a Thermador appliance package two years ago and have had so many issues! I am an avid cook and baker and also teach cooking classes in my home kitchen. I was so excited to install these gorgeous appliances into my kitchen even though it was a huge sacrifice for our budget. We bought the 4 burner with electric griddle cooktop, the built-in fridge and freezer, the double ovens, dishwasher and range hood. Our kitchen is gorgeous but that’s where the excitement stops. We have had multiple repairman to our house to try and fix our appliances with no results. Our burners on the cooktop don’t get very hot so it takes over 20 minutes to boil a pot of water. I can not can or even sear meat on on my stovetop which is a huge letdown. I have had two repairman and the gas company all out to look at it and they are perplexed and say there is nothing wrong with the installation or the gas line, that’s just how the stove cooks. Meanwhile our crazy expensive freezer has stopped producing ice and water and is leaking from somewhere and completely ruining our hardwood floors we installed during our remodel. They are built-in so you can’t just pull them out and find the problem, you have to wait for a professional. I live near a big city and there are only 2 repair places in our area. We have been waiting for over a month and the problem is still not fixed. The part is on backorder so meanwhile, our floor continues to warp and is now sleeping into our cabinetry. I just want to cry. I had such high expectations for these beautiful appliances and to say we have been “let down” is a complete understatement. Please spare yourself the frustration and disappointment and look elsewhere for your professional appliances.

We purchased a top-of-the-line Thermador CM302 double oven in 2004; since then, we have had to replace the Relay Board 3 times. The first time was covered under warranty, the second they paid for 10% of the part cost. We paid entirely for parts and labor after the 3rd failure. Now, it has failed again. Thermador Customer Service is unwilling to do anything about it; and to top it off, they tell me the relay board is no longer available. All they would do is give me the name of a company that might rebuild the board. No help as to who might remove and replace it for us, nor any support to get a new one. The oven wont operate properly - again. Their customer service associate was rude and arrogant. We own several Thermador, Bosch and Gaggenau products. NEVER AGAIN! I strongly suggest that anyone looking for premium appliances avoid EVERYTHING this company makes. Buy them at your own risk...

Seven years ago we remodeled our kitchen. Sadly the only location we had for a refrigerator was a wide, but shallow space. Our appliance contractor recommended this Thermador refrigerator Model # KBUDT4875E01, which cost over $14K! Recently the evaporator coil began leaking. We called the Thermador service department who referred us to a local repair company (Alltex Parker) in the DFW area. The service man told us our refrigerator was old, although is has a 12 year warranty. The good news is the $300.00 for parts was covered by our warranty. The bad news is the service call costs us $1500.00 for 4 hours to replace the coil! The service man informed us he sees many issues with Thermador appliances and it is not uncommon for these refrigerator coils to leak. He said he would be surprised if our refrigerator lasted the length of our warranty. This experience has taught me to do more appliance research upfront and to rely on customer reviews!

First repair was over $600 and this repair would have been Over $1400. We paid a little over $25K for Thermador appliances and have had this equipment for almost three years. Our experience has been very poor. Given the price point, the equipment is unbelievably terrible. i.e. Our GE Profile appliances in our prior house had ZERO issues in 5 years and the equipment was 4 years old when we moved it. Thermadors customer support is difficult to reach. Theyre techs act like their is not a larger issue at hand even after youve called them 5 - 7 times over the same issue.1. Double Oven (digital version): The double oven is either too hot or too cold (weve called Thermador 5 - 7 times and every time they come out their techs say Our ovens are within tolerance if they are 25 degrees over or under the set temperature! Literally, the $400 Magic Chef oven/stove top that I grew up with had a more accurate and consistent oven temperature than the Thermador.2. Stove top and Fridge: These havent been so bad. The stove top had some issues with flames not burning even, which was resolved with new hardware. The fridge hinge wore into the plastic which was super annoying.3. Dishwasher: Three years into use, this dishwasher stopped working. Weve spend $500 in repairs and the non-Thermador tech said that Thermador appliances are known to have maintenance issues. Dishwasher will not run. First the pump stopped working, but it turned out there was a wire loose. Now we need a new electronic panel--Im throwing this thing out and buying a Miele or Asko.4. Customer Service: No joke there are times that Ive waited for 30 - 50 minutes to reach customer support. Thermador techs tend to be arrogant and believe their equipment is the best (which wouldnt be a big deal if Thermadors appliances backed up it).I would not recommend Thermador--youd be better off buyings anything/something cheap from Lowes or Home Depot.

Just read about the experience of another consumer of thermador oven appliance. I had the same experience about 6 years ago with my relatively new thermador wall oven (MEDES/01). During a cleaning cycle, the bottom oven glass completely shattered. Could have been dangerous if I had been nearby. Shame on Thermador for not fixing this problem! Otherwise the oven has been good, even if a bit confusing at times to use due to the electronic panel (which also had to be replaced early on). We have purchased a Thermador Professional gas range, electric wall oven and warming drawer. The range and wall oven have given us many issues, particularly the Professional gas range. Seems comical to us that it is referred to as a Professional Series. We very rarely use the range and yet it is the most likely to break down when we do utilize. We have had most (close to all) of the electronics replaced; the ignitors several times! We have just had service once again performed for a measly cost of just under $1,200 and after the first use, the range once again does not work! Oh yes, we were without the use of the product for approximately 1 1/2 months as we waited for parts! This is so ridiculous saying nothing of the fact that it is extremely expensive! It is noon on December 23, 2016 and both the Thermador customer service line and the Bosch Home offices are closed. The product does not function; the repair person they sent was not helpful and wants me to wait until January 3, 2017 for a repair, and I cannot talk to anyone but an after hours messaging center about my non-functioning oven a day before Christmas. On December 3, 2016, my family tried to use its new Thermador double oven (Model ME302JS/04) and received an error code (118). We called to the customer service line for help and they failed to send a technician. We called again, but could not get a technician until December 23. When the technician came, he did not have the necessary parts - despite contacting the company weeks earlier and giving them the exact error code for the problem. The next available repair slot is January 3, 2017. The product does not fulfill the warranty of merchantability, fitness, or any general warranties; the customer service is ineffective; and the Bosch-employed repair organization is slow, unprepared, disorganized, and unhelpful. I have a 48 inch professional Thermador Range. Model # PG486GEBS/12. It came with the house when we purchased it. The house was new construction in 2007. Since the first year that we have had it, it has broken 14 different times and we have spent nearly $8,000 repairing it. The burners have broken a number of times. They wouldnt light at all. Ive replaced the simmer kits at least 5 times. The oven has also broken at least 5 times. Needed spark modules. Then there was the oven door latch that locked itself 4 times. Ive needed control board kits at least 2 times as well. Its a dual oven. It would turn itself off and not heat or it would not ignite at all. The burners on top would short out all of the time. I work full time and if we use the burners or the oven twice a week, that would be a lot. I finally got wise and called Thermador and they were awful and unhelpful. Last year, they did replace the parts for the burners for free but it took months for me to get them to actually send the parts. I had to provide more documentation than the Warren Commission had on JFKs assassination. This time around, the oven is broken again and needs an $800 repair. They offered to send me replacement parts for 50% of the cost, even though we have had nothing but problems. I declined their offer and am ripping this piece of garbage out of my house. They do not stand behind their products and the people that repair this appliance have stopped selling Thermador products completely. They look nice but are garbage. Do not spend the money on their ranges.

Called Thermador, got a case number, supplied all info, received an email saying I need a tech to diagnose that it is not operating properly -- da dude! No techs in Vermont are even returning calls, the store I brought it from says Thermador responds to customers. Not them. Wow $12 --!3,000.00 for a new stove that is 3 months old and this is the service one receives. !!!Dont Do It. Buy Something Else!!! Terrible! Nothing good to say about this stove, the service and the company.

We bought expensive Thermador double wall ovens about fifteen years ago. They are in perfect condition and have always worked perfectly and accurately until the other day when the knob that controls the upper oven broke. Now the oven cannot be turned on or off and Bosch/Thermador says they no longer have any parts available for the CT 127 or 227 series. So a terrific oven has to be torn out and replaced for lack of a $10 part. If anybody knows of an available knob, please contact me.

I purchased a complete set of Thermador appliances, double oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and refrigerator three years ago for my kitchen remodel. Every appliance has stopped working at least once. This Thanksgiving 2011, while cooking dinner for 25 family members, the ovens went out again. The oven and refrigerator has quit three times. They were repaired once under warranty and I have paid over 1600.00 for the other repairs. This stuff is junk. The service hotline was unhelpful and kept giving me service companies that would not work on their product anymore. I will never recommend or purchase anything from this manufacturer again.

Trying to work with Thermador customer support to find an appliance service repair shop to service our under warranty products has been a nightmare! We only live a few miles from Hermann, MO but customer support has to negotiate a service rate with a repair shop and most shops wont comply. Unbelievable!! Thermador products are not worth the price you pay!! We thought buying a better brand name like Thermador would give us good quality for many years. Not so!! We even sent an email to CEO of Thermador with no solution. Our warranties will be up January 2021 and I have no idea how we will get service after that. Im sure we will have to reach deep in the pocket book for that! DONT BUY THERMADOR!

Purchased a stove, dishwasher and refrigerator a few years ago for my principal residence. Do they look nice? Sure. It stops there. For my rental properties, they are too expensive to justify so I went with GE Profile. So far, all of my calls have been to repair the three Thermador products. No calls for the GE Profiles. Whats wrong with this picture???? Limited Warranty is for two years and most issues are after the two-year period. To top it off, Thermadors are only serviced by a few service companies who have you over a barrel. My advice would be to stay away from their products.

Our home came w/a Thermador three piece microwave, warming drawer, and wall oven. The home is now 10 years old and the microwave has stopped working on the three piece unit. I was shocked to learn that you have to replace the entire unit for nearly $6,000 because they no longer make replacement parts. The rep on the phone was nice but explained that in order to keep up w/ technology they dont make replacement parts for things like microwaves. I guess when you buy a Thermador you should remember that it is unlikely you will get replacement parts and if you buy a three piece unit you will need to replace the entire thing if one component breaks. The rep seemed surprised that I would be upset about this... I guess they really only expect their products to last up to 10 years. That isnt very long for such an expensive high-end product. No more Thermadors for me or the new home I am building. Will call the appliance store and change my order stat!

The product works as expected. I have not had any issues or problems with the product since purchase. Its easy to use and operate, and has all the features you need in a range. It simple to use and efficient. I am extremely happy with the overall value. I was able to purchase at an amazing price. I actually spent less than I had budgeted for, which made me very happy. It looks great, works great. I am extremely happy with the appearance of the product. Considering I was able to get it at an amazing price, it still looks modern and stylish. It looks a lot more expensive than it actually was and it matches my other appliances, and looks awesome in my kitchen. The size of the range is perfect. Big enough that I can fit larger items in the stove and cook multiple sides on the range top. But its not so bulky that it looks obnoxious. It fits perfectly in the designated area.

My husband and I purchase a stove and a hood from Thermador. We had been remodeling our home for the past two months. In the process we ordered a hood which in turn needed a motor. The motor was shipped to us, which seemed in good condition. It was not until we installed the motor it was not working properly. I called Thermador and spoke to Kayla who in turn told me if we did not have a technician install the product then they would not refund the motor. The motor was obviously defective and or broken before - how would we have known unless installing the unit. Now she stated her manager could do nothing for us. This was very upsetting after spending thousands on a stove and now this motor doesn’t work for the hood - its setting us back another $350 dollars. The customer service I received is poor! Inexcusable when Thermadors product was defective. And they do not want to reimburse or exchange the product. Fan motor **.

At a minimum, we have replaced two circuit boards, two fan motors in the hood and most recently the boiler coil has caught on fire and appears to have partially melted. I bought a Thermador refrigerator (T360T810NS) in August 2014. It cost almost $8000.00. As other reviews have stated, it is noisier than I would have liked but that was tolerable. However, in May, 2019 (less than 5 years of service), the temperature sensor for the ice maker went out and had to be replaced ($420.00). Then it was determined that it was not the problem. It would have cost me another $500 to figure out what it was so I decided not to fix it. However, my major disappointment is in the response from Thermador when I tried to contact them. The people on the telephone were nice and did provide an email address after I waited over a month to get a response from the contact email on the website and after other calls. I sent that email over a month and havent heard a word and it did not bounce back. For high end appliances, they should have better consumer service. I will not buy another Thermador product.

I have owned my side by side for 12 years. You will discover that while the unit is under Warranty for 12 years--they do NOT stock parts after 8 years!! The trick is they will offer you money towards sliding into a new fridge--where you will continue to be captive to them. The new unit of what I own now costs $15,000. I made a service appointment THREE WEEKS ago for Monday, October 25, 2021, and was told I couldnt get one sooner because Thermador doesnt have workers. When I called Friday before to see why they had not told me a time, they said I had cancelled the appointment. (I had not). When I complained, the Thermador rep disconnected me. I had waited 20 minutes for her to answer the call. For their price, I could buy a new GE or Frigidaire every three years, and still not be out $15,000. We remodeled our kitchen before moving into our, new to us, but older home, back in 2014. When it was time to choose appliances, I was extremely excited, being a baker especially wanting to enjoy our new oven. The existing gas stove in the home was a Thermador so I thought I would get the same brand for the oven. The salesman wasnt very helpful so I just chose the double convection oven. Surprisingly, the convection aspect was not useful in controlling odors emanating from the oven, as I was told it would.Recently, the control panel went out, affecting many functions of the oven, the main one being only ONE oven would turn on at a time. The repair person explained the two year warranty and although this was a very expensive repair; upwards of $600, Thermador would not reimburse me for that reason. The oven also heats food is quite unevenly. Additionally we paid for the upgraded glider shelves, which do not glide appropriately. Then I discovered part of the shelf is bent, which explains the poor function, yet also indicates poor quality control. Overall, I am not impressed with this brand and would not recommend them.

Thermador PRL366EG Pro Range - This was supposed to be my dream range. Saved forever to buy it. Replaced a GE stove, which we donated to the fire department, with this piece of junk! The FD is still using the GE and Ive had two burners repaired and Im on my 4th oven repair in 6 years. Same problem on the oven; cant seem to get it fixed. The oven heats up but doesnt maintain temperature. Bake a pie at 450 for 15 minutes then reduce the temperature to 350 to finish the baking and the oven turns itself off, though the indicator light says heating. The technician cant seem to replicate the problem. If I turn the oven off, wait five minutes and then turn it back on the oven will come back up to the correct temp. One suggestion made by the service dept was to just turn the oven off and wait and then turn it back on every time I needed to reduce the temp in a recipe. Really? I tried to stay calm and explain why that was not possible and why I should not have to do that with a range that cost me $6000!!! So parts have been ordered (again) but there is no guarantee that this will be the fix. And a phone call to Thermador did no good, either. Keeping my fingers crossed that these parts are the cure since my technician is working diligently to resolve this for me.Would never, ever buy nor recommend a Thermador again. I recently purchased a Thermador double wall oven. Since I was replacing an existing Thermador double wall oven and needed the same size, I did not check the reviews. My mistake. The ovens do not properly heat, so I contacted the store where I purchased the ovens and they came and checked them out. According to Yale Electric where I purchased the ovens, I should not expect the ovens to be at temp when the ovens register that they are at temp. I was told to preheat for a half an hour before using. Even when I do this, the ovens do not properly heat. Second issue is with the door venting system. The vents are just above the window, and while you cook, splattering can seep into the space leaving you with streaks and food on the inside of the glass. There is no way to clean it. I would not recommend purchasing a Thermador and regret my decision to do so.

We purchased a group of Thermador appliances in 2016 when renovating our kitchen. We thought that we were purchasing high quality reliable appliances and we could not have been more wrong. Our double wall ovens have malfunctioned since 2017. Every year these ovens stop working and we have to pay out between $450-$900 each time even after these ovens were supposedly repaired before the warranty ran out. This year we had service on August 24 and paid $927.00 for a new relay panel. Now on November 18, 2021, within three months, we have to have both fans replaced at a cost of $864.00. The fans have already been replaced multiple times and contact with Thermador, the local rep and the retailer have produced either no response or sorry we dont deal with service issues. On top of this the Thermador dishwasher purchased at the same time requires a new motor. We have been careful with these appliances, do not put the self clean on too frequently and try to be mindful of usage. I would run for the hills before purchasing Thermador or any products under the same manufacturer-I feel we were sold a very expensive bill of goods-abominable!

Now after 3 years having the oven, my stress level had sky rocket. First, it took over a month to finally to get an authorized technician to come out to look at it. So, I had 3 technicians to tell me what parts I need to replace it. Thermador have given me 50% off the price of the parts. Well I guess the management felt sorry for me since it took over a month to get a Technician out here. So, the technician ask me to order the first two parts which was the wire harness & module control. Well it still didnt work. So I order the 3rd parts; it still didnt work. Then I finally order the 4th part which is the power supply. My oven is still not working! For the fourth time of replacing this parts. This oven is totally curse. This is beyond me. We purchased a complete Thermador package in 2015 that included the side by side fridge and freezer unit approximately $8000.00. The first 18 months, no problems. Then water/ice started to run down the inside of the freezer and interfering with the unit fan. Which then resulted in the temperature rising above freezing. The certified Thermador repair folks have been out at least 6 times and have replaced almost all of the components of the freezer unit usually at a cost of $200 per visit. When working on the unit, they were in voice contact with the Thermador technicians doing what they were told. Each repair lasted 3-4 months and then water and ice began to run down the insides of the unit, same old problem. Thank heavens the local, certified tech is nice to work with and he is totally frustrated with the Thermador experts. I would think Thermador would replace such a defective unit at cost or no cost. But not at this date. Working with the local tech we are going to send an itemized cost of repair to Thermador that has occurred over the past years and see what happens. Will keep you posted.

No solution offered by their service dept, they tell me its sophisticated software and has to be allowed to work these problems out over time!!Cant use double oven, it actually works but it loudly blows hot air into kitchen raising house temp 5 degrees. So you cant use it and entertain in the kitchen at the same time. Cant stress enough for the same money or less, try the other big brands, this one you will definitely regret. They will not help you with the repair, they take your call, tell you someone will contact you, no one does, then they get agitated with you when you follow up. It pretty amazing, cant believe there isnt more negative comments about the product quality and service.

Yes, its been 12 years, but, for what we paid for this oven, to have the horrible response from Thermador. And, to have a piece of scrap metal after paying $480 in repairs...well, just unthinkable. Customer service was dismissive, at best. Condescending at worst. My story begins. Purchased 12 years ago, several repairs along the way, but she was well used. Then, about 4 years ago, the self cleaning went. I had only used it twice, so it was not worth putting up with or paying for repairs (which are quite expensive and require a Thermador Tech to come out). No error code, it just wouldnt work. Then, the broiler started to give me trouble. All of a sudden, we had the power go out and BOOM! We have no oven with 1 error code indicating the main circuit board is out. While the board was $250 -ish, with the service calls and labor, the cost was about $480. Which, I would have been fine with, if the oven worked. The tech put the oven on, it went on, went to about 275, and he determined it was fixed. That evening, in preparation of dinner, I turned the oven on and it would not go beyond 325 before shutting down. I called back. We are on service call 3 at this point. He cant figure out the problem, maybe a faulty circuit board, he will have to contact Thermador and get back with me. Service call 4. Wow, big problem, it is NOW the blow motor. And, they no longer manufacture Blow Motors for this model. (Used to be a $100-ish part, pretty inexpensive). Well, sorry, but the main circuit board is not refundable, basically, ** you. I called Thermador, initially, to ask about the Blow Motor.I was told, Well, these arent like automobiles where we manufacture parts forever. My response, Well, you charged me as much as my first automobile, so I would think there should be an alternative. Sorry, check online, see if anyone has old parts...basically, ** you. So, I begin the search for a new oven, and yes, I have EXCLUDED Thermador from my search. I begin to think, how do I verify the tech didnt break this blow motor in his install? I do not think I should have paid for this repair if that is the case. Or, did he misdiagnose and there were 2 issues he should have seen, basically saving me the payment on the board. So, I call Thermador again, to verify if there are multiple issues, should I have seen multiple error codes? Seems like a reasonable question. Well, customer service cant answer this. Only a technician can. Ok, transfer me to a technician, please. Well, they are on the road. Well, can I leave a message. Well, no. Well, can someone else answer this? Well, of course not. But, I will be happy to get you another outside technician to come in. But, you see, I know the error code, I know the part is not available, why would I pay for ANOTHER visit to tell me my oven is a 400# piece of trash? Maybe I should be happy I had 12 years of reasonable happiness with her, but, I would hope that when you pay this much for an appliance the Co would stand behind her. Well, just to let you know, that will only last for a few years, until they stop manufacturing parts for it.

The third time the inside glass shattered inside the oven, they told me Thermador will be sending an engineer from the New Jersey area to come and see the problem with this door on this model. I am still waiting. It has been 4 years and I had to replace the door myself. However, the glass has cracked inside shortly after replacement and I continue to use it with broken glass. This unfortunately does not give an accurate oven temp because there is not a seal. So dissatisfied with Thermador for not backing their products. All I want is a new door oven that does not break at high temps.

Bought a full kitchen suite of commercial grade Thermador products in 2013.
Bought a full kitchen suite of commercial grade Thermador products in 2013. Got the one-two-free promotion so a great price point and other leading brands had equal pro/con review. Have had continual problems since day one; oven has been repaired 4 times for motherboard, temp dial, heating consistency, burners not igniting; freezer ice maker repaired 3 times for clogging ice buildup which shuts down the ice maker and needs to be re-set. Still clogs and quits but I have stopped calling for expensive repair visits and now turn off the freezer for 10 minutes to re-boot the ice maker every time it clogs (about every other month); refr has salad makings consistently condense and rot with water after two days.Read all the manuals, following instructions. Today needed to change out a bulb in the oven and find the lamp housing installed backwards in the very back of the oven, making it almost impossible to get a screwdriver in to pry the glass lens off (well, actually havent got this accomplished yet so maybe it is impossible). The auto-shut off for warming drawer (as part of range) has never worked. Repairman said he could replace drawer for $1,000 - think I will place a $.01 post it note on it for turn-off reminder. Products all look great - but look for other brands! I would not buy Thermador again and as an architect I have my clients look at any other brand first.

BUYER BEWARE!! Do not buy this product. Own a 48 range and both ovens are continually broke. Indicator lights blew out, oven door does not close (on 2nd door). Temp is higher than on indicator. Whole kitchen smells like gas when turn on oven. Small oven does not heat. Called customer service and was told it is 10 yrs old and they are beyond life expectancy and she was no help and rude. You cannot get compatible parts. Do Not Buy Thermador - bad experience for me. Company does not back their products.

Thermador Commercial Grade Stove with 6 Burner Gas Range - We have had nothing but problems with this unit since we bought it many years ago. I originally spent around $8,000 for the unit with the overhead hood and fan. Since then I have invested a minimum of another $6,000 in what appears to be bi-annual service calls. The main issues are: 1. Thermador does NOT support their units. They push you to factory authorized service shops. Okay not a big deal - makes sense. 2. My local service rep knows less about the unit than I do (sad statement). The typical response is something on the order of I think its the ???? part. I have to order one - cant guarantee it will fix the problem until I install it. That will be $150 plus $400 for the parts - see you when the part comes in. 3. I have to go to the dealer in the next region and pay him extra travel time to get decent service. Typically he is so busy servicing other Thermador units that he cant get to me for 3-4 weeks. 4. I have replaced the same gas burner control 5 times - thats a $1,000 in parts only. They have now discontinued the part (dont know why, they were making a killing selling them). So the next time it fails I cant use the stove. 5. My most recent event deals with gas leaks at the burners. Im told they no longer make replacements. They dont even know if it can be upgraded. The service shop wont check to see if it is something simple like a valve stem nut or tightening or packing issue. They told me to call Thermador to see what can be done. Nice receptionist at Thermador but no information - cant get to the engineering department to ask intelligent questions.6. Its a shame because the electric oven has worked flawlessly.I think a class action lawsuit is a great idea.

My 2-year-old $2,700 glass Thermador cooktop has begun to look like an old wall mirror. The black continues to spread and mar the meticulously maintained surface. It was not an easy decision to buy such an expensive appliance, but I had just remodeled my kitchen and love to cook; so, I splurged. Big mistake with Thermador. It was a process of over a month with continued correspondence. Finally, they agreed to replace the glass, but not to pay for the installation. How absurd! It was no fault of mine that they produced a defective cooktop. I already paid to have it installed when I purchased it! I guess I am keeping my fingers crossed that this one will not need to be replaced and installed again in another two years; furthermore, it took over a month to convince them to at least pay for the glass.I also purchased two Wolf ovens and a Liebherr refrigerator. I had problems with both of them as well, but unlike Thermador, their customer service departments were amazing. The warranties were out of coverage as well, but they stood behind their name and all was immediately replaced and installed at no charge! Stay away from Thermador!!!

I purchased a 48 dual fuel Thermador range on July 20th 2016. It is now September 22nd and it still does not work. The first problem after setting up making connections and checking for gas leaks I found the third valve from the left had a gas leak at the main manifold. So the process of repair begins. What a mess.I call the authorized service facility four times trying to communicate with the repair technician so he would be able to order parts prior to traveling 110 mile to look at problem then return waiting 7-10 shipping days, two weeks, to get the part then make a return trip. After the fourth call I was told I had to call between 8:00 and 8:30 to be able to talk with the repairman. FINE! So I call the next day and explain where the leak is. He orders parts. After two and a half weeks he makes the trip. Upon removal and disassembly he sees, Yep I was correct. Then he opens box at job site. I remind you Im a 110 miles from the service station. So WRONG PART! Back to plan B.I chew on them and they promise to expedite the correct part and open the box prior to leaving the shop. I receive a call after one and a half weeks. They have the part and the box was opened and its correct. I am scheduled for the following Tuesday. So Monday arrives and I receive a call stating my parts will be on Thursday and Im scheduled for the following Tuesday. NO NO NO! Im scheduled for tomorrow. Nothing can be done no part! The serviceman arrives a week late and makes the repair. Before he leaves we have troubles with the two XLO burners on the two outsides of the stove top. He says I have a power problem and it was up to me to fix. Im an electrician and told him I didnt believe that. He returns to the shop. I pull the range back out and test. NO power problem! I try the small left-hand oven and I get ERROR TEMP PROBE, call some 1-800 number so I do. Yep Im in need of service. So back to the service station I go. Ive received a call stating the part is in. However the serviceman is on vacation until October 2nd and Im scheduled for the 4th.Ive tried several calls direct to Thermador. The last call I was told I would receive a call back on what they plan to do about this problem. This is the fourth day and no return call. I just want this thing out of my house and Im done with it! Outside of an attorney Im not sure what I am able to do. Im going to call consumer reports next. DONT ever buy one of these! Terrible quality control and even worse service network!

Were on our second Thermador. The first one died several Thanksgivings ago, after several repairs in its first year. After much complaining to Thermador corporate, they agreed to sell us a new oven at a steep discount. I was sick of dealing with this thing, so I went for it. The discount was not steep enough, as now the new one isnt working either. The oven wont turn on. The fan comes on, we smell gas, but no heat (oh, and the light has been stuck on since a few weeks after purchase and the stove top burners have a habit of randomly firing the igniters, even when the stove is off). Absolute piece of crap! We were fooled by the neat looking speedometer thermometer, but you shouldnt be. These stoves suck, steer clear!

We purchased the top of the line model stove and have had issues with the baking for 6 months. When repairman finally got it working, 3 visits, it turns out the motherboard had failed. He agreed that this part should not be failing on a $10,000 stove. Calling Thermador was of no help at all. Their warranty motto of we stand behind our products is a complete sham. Very dissatisfied. After much research we purchased a higher end stove which at the time we paid over $6000 for. We remodeled an old farmhouse and built the kitchen around the stove. Soon after we had it we had to have a few service calls but that was no big deal. Now only four of the burners work and we called out a Thermador service tech who informed us they no longer make parts to fix it. I called the Thermador factory and talked with customer service who also stated they no longer made parts and told us we were out of luck and the stove is 19 years old. That is unacceptable to me. The attitude I received was shameful. Just because an appliance is nineteen years old should not make it obsolete. I assure you I will never purchase any Thermador product in my lifetime and I will ensure any family member will NOT purchase one either. It is hard for me to believe that that just quit making parts and it is not only for my model either, it is for numerous models they misrepresented when they sold them.

Thermador 48 double oven ,4 burner, grill and griddle - We remodeled our kitchen in 2005, and I purchased what I thought was the best cooking appliance available. I was sadly mistaken. The small left side oven no longer works properly and can only be used as a warming drawer. The temperature will no longer go above 120 degrees. The part needed to repair this I am told is $900 plus labor. I doubt if I have used this oven more than 25 times since it was installed. I’m very dissatisfied since the oven we replaced (not Thermador) had worked perfectly since 1986.

I mentioned it and was told oh when the freezer reaches temp the door will suction close?? Ok the door doesnt close and the light is on. I called service again. The following information is based on MY observations pertaining to the new Thermador kitchen appliance product line (range, microwave, oven and dishwasher) that we purchased in March 2019 and had installed in our home in May 2019. The six burner range with a grill is beautiful and works as designed to work. The microwave has a timer function that you cannot use because the panel light times out thereby cancelling the timer you set for cooking needs (I’m told this is a design function that cannot be changed due to energy-savings guidelines). You have to press six (6) button options before it’s set and starts to warm up a cup of water or other warming/heating needs. There is no distinction in the sound coming out of it whether set at the lowest (1) or the highest (5). The volume control, while set at its lowest setting (1), is so very loud and can be heard throughout the entire house (I’m told this is a design function that cannot be changed). The oven works as designed to work, however, the volume control is similar to the microwave except in REVERSE; the sound is barely audible while set at the highest setting (5) which means you must remain in the kitchen to hear the timer go off indicating your food is ready to be checked and come out of the oven (I’m told that they’re working on a design fix due to consumer feedback and it could take several months to correct). The dishwasher manual encourages you NOT to rinse your dishes but to scrape the food off and allow the sensor to regulate the cleaning mode.Since it uses a condensation heat mode to dry your dishes it never seems to completely cool down and dry out inside the unit so the remaining food on the plate starts to decay and smell foul when you open the door. I had to purchase an old fashioned timer to set on the kitchen counter for cooking timing purposes, and warming up a midnight snack or a cup of water for tea in the morning are a thing of the past unless I want to wake everyone in the house up.

DO NOT BUY THERMADOR PRODUCTS!!! I bought my expensive double oven, cost $8000, 9 years ago. I have had over 18 appointments to repair it. It has cost me thousands. The electronic panel is right under the burners. Moisture constantly seeps in and shorts it out. Electronic panels cost $1100. I had to pay to have this done 3 times! Eventually I had to have a metal part designed at a sheet metal shop in Fullerton, installed to deflect the moisture and to lift it up off the bottom. I havent had a problem since. Went to clean the glass inside the oven and it shattered. I called and they said I had to buy a whole new door at a cost of $1100! Are you kidding me? I HATE MY OVEN! Now I am having NOTHING but problems with my expensive refrigerator! I have spent thousands on it as well. The list is endless: compressor out twice, heater once, ice maker three times. Rubber seal twice, it goes on and on!!! NO one cares at the customer service desk. NIGHTMARE!!!

I had heard from friends that the Thermador dishwasher was no good and now I understand why.... I too have a Thermador hood range PSE36US which we purchased in 2005. I also spent an additional $650 for the powerful blower to go along with the hood. I bought this product, thinking I was making a permanent purchase to install into my custom kitchen. I was sadly wrong. The buttons quit working for the lights along with some of the speed buttons for the fan. Then the housing that contained the circuit board with the buttons broke. The local appliance parts store I use told me that Thermador was the absolute worst company for parts, and in many cases, he refuses to deal with them because of their customer service. After some ordeal, I finally got to order both of these items. The circuit board was shipped and the housing is on backorder. Its going on three months, and all I can get is that the part is on backorder with no due date for the housing. I even wrote to the headquarters company in France with no response. Im going to have to somehow jerry rig the housing in order to close the filtering area. My advice to potential purchasers is to do your homework and research the company you are about to do business with. This will, no doubt, be the last Thermador product I will ever own. Dont be fooled by how pretty the product looks if you want something that can last. Its all about longevity, repair and service.

I installed a 5 burner Thermador luxury optioned gas cooktop around 24 months ago. After repeated expensive repairs, scary operating issues and very poor customer support as so many here already reported, this cooktop was slightly modified and plopped into our outdoor poolside entertaining area. At least it couldnt burn anything serious down to the ground out there. Like our house.. The burner ignition problems started after a few months. Followed all the advice in the manuals and from Thermadope call center zombies; tried to arrange service calls, different techs came out several times over the ensuing months and replaced ignition modules and other parts. The appliance just kept failing to operate. After enough frustration, I bought a cheap Chinese gas cooktop that had great reviews and swapped the Thermador clunker out. No problems with cheapo cooktop at all. Ever. Before I chucked the Thermador luxury boat-anchor into the recyling bin, I thought, what the hell, I’ll try to repurpose it. First thing I did was measure the temperature inside the cooktop while a couple of burners were on for about 20 minutes. Incredibly, it was running over 150°C inside where the electronics were located! Even if Thermador used high-temperature military or space grade components, it was still WAY too hot for any electronics to survive in there very long in those conditions. I waved goodbye to any hope of salvaging a normal operating cooktop with a Frankenstein electronics transplant. So, I removed all the cooktop electronics and wiring in a few minutes with some wirecutters, plopped it into the old cooktop opening place by our pool and now use a dollar-store butane igniter to fire up my castrated ‘luxury’ Thermador cooktop. Having it by my pool makes me look a lot richer than I am! ????

Microwave wave generator broke for no apparent reason after 3 years of moderate to low use. It cannot be fixed so the microwave unit is worthless now. According to Thermador there is no way to replace just the microwave. What?????? So they want me to spend another $6,500 to replace the whole unit????? Total BS. I will never buy another thing from Thermador even again. This is pure extortion.Just FYI - you can buy the current built-in microwave ($900) alone and rig it to fit in the space of the old microwave in the tower. The faceplate (another $350) is different and were still working on getting to look as good as the original, but at least we dont have a big unfinished hole in the wall over the oven. It still cost us $1,400 total by the time we were done which is also a huge amount just for a microwave. The whole experience was total crap. Never again.
