Do not buy Thermador cooktops. This company does not provide high-quality products. When their product fail to operate, it is the customers problem. Their customer service personnel are awful and will say anything to the customer and make false statements to the customers. I will never buy this product again. I also plan to call, email, etc. and tell everyone I come in contact with not to buy this product.I purchased a glass ceramic stove top that stopped working after three weeks. They claimed it had been repaired; however, they kept the stove top for about six months. I have used this stove top for only two years. The entire stove top stopped working, and Thermador told me it was my problem and I would need to have the stove top repaired. Thermador products are expensive, but they are very poor products with no quality added.

Thermador / Bosch only support the newest models of their appliance, and have discontinued product support and parts for legacy ranges and appliances. I need something as simple as a knob for a range, and their customer service basically told me to search the internet to see if I can find something, because they do not support their product and cannot recommend a replacement. They went on to tell me that they have no responsibility after the product is purchased and that it would be best to spend $1500 on a new range. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service and support! Will never buy their products again!

Spent over $27,125.00 on Thermador appliances. 48 range knobs were very loose and oven temp was not working. It was on 350 but the oven would only slightly warm. Got a new thermostat knob yet the oven does not heat up accurately. Smaller oven to this day still does not work properly. Bake means broil!! We can never get a correct temp. And for the first 5 mins it broils no matter what temp you are on. Fridge/freezer side by side was delivered with broken wheels. Ice machine has broken twice - Went months without ice. Drawers have broken. Now our dishwasher on the outside panel has RUSTED. How does stainless steel rust? The whole front is brown. We sent pics in and complained. Oh but you only have 30 days on cosmetics. Buy this cleaner... Customer Service is disgraceful. They dont care at all - I want a Thermador sales rep in my house NOW! Shame on you Thermador. You have no customer service loyalty. You took my money and wont help anyone by the looks of things, not just me. Be warned. Dont buy Thermador, I am sick over this...

Multiple issues with a fridge, freezer and range. Spent close to $25,000 and not worth the money. They do provide a 2 year warranty and we had over 20 service calls between the 3 appliances. Theyre beautiful appliances but would never recommend Thermador and will never buy again. We have no faith in the products and were forced to buy an extended warranty that cost over $1,000.00 when the warranty expired. Youve been warned and hopefully you did you due diligence before buying these appliances - regretfully I did not.

Paid over $2,000 for a Thermador Star Sapphire Dishwasher. The top rack slides had the welds fail and the top rack collapsed after three years of part-time use. The 800 number was only helpful in how to charge me for the parts. A disgraceful excuse for an appliance. Now that Bosch has purchased Gaggenau and owns Thermador they are using the same parts in each one and couldnt care less for customer satisfaction. Buy only Subzero and Wolf for refrigerator/oven. They care and will address an issue after warranty. For dishwashers Bosch also has an issue with pumps which all go in five years.

We purchased a Thermador triple oven combination (model #semw302) in 2007 when we built our home. Over the past 9 years weve had to have multiple repairs on the main oven. The door hinges have been replaced twice, the circuit board replaced once, the self cleaning function stopped working twice. Actually only worked for one self cleaning. Each time. Now we once again have to replace both the circuit board and the relay board on the oven. Great. After paying a service man $80 yesterday, we were told that Thermador has discontinued the circuit board that we need and it also needs to have the relay board replaced. Which I believe is somewhere around $225.It was suggested we try to find someone to rebuild our circuit board. Even after spending some considerable time searching the internet, I havent found anyone who can rebuild this particular circuit board. and this would probably cost over $200. Plus installation. I already have spent close to $1000 on repairs. The microwave and the warming drawer are both fine. Now it looks like we will have to throw out the whole triple combination unit since its one piece. We will NOT be looking to replace it with another Thermador. This may be the worst purchase weve ever made in 50 years of marriage. JUNK!

As with others, we spent a lot of money on this over/under oven. Looks nice but the internal design is awful. Its been 4 years now and we have had to replace the control boards 3 times already... and it died again a week ago. There is NO support for Thermador appliances in the Dallas area. Parts cost as much as the original unit almost if you can find them. I have replaced the faulty boards 3 times so far, but Im too tired to deal with this anymore. The analog & digital boards run about $600... 3 sets are enough for a new oven. Its a giant rip-off. Where is the quality design & service... missing totally. Were going to purchase a new oven now and it wont be Thermador. In 50 years, I have never experienced such poor design and support. I cant believe Thermador is still in business!

We purchased a Thermador oven 2 years ago and it hasnt been working properly from the very beginning. We have gotten gas smell coming from the oven. Thermador has either come out to fix it or sent a subcontractor to fix it now 3 times. Each time the technicians instruments register an of gas. The technicians suggestions range from altering the settings inside to replacing parts to replacing the oven door. It originally took 3 attempts to install it properly. When first being installed, the hood was attached partially to my ceiling but the installers informed me that it wasnt their job to install the exhaust hood. Why would I need to contact Thermador specifically to have the hood installed, when I obviously purchased both? Last week I noticed the gas smell again as I was cooking bacon in the oven. I took the bacon out and clearly half the bacon was cooked and the other half was very underdone. The next day was Thanksgiving and the same happened with the turkey. I took photos, one leg was still bloody and rawish looking while the other leg was completely done. Plus there was a strong gas odor so I know something wasnt igniting in the oven again. This has been going on since we purchased the oven. I called technical support and they informed me they couldnt get a repair person out until January, and its November right now. The thing has never worked properly, they have some nerve telling me they cant come out and fix it until January. So they gave me the number of the subcontractor they refer people to and I called them several days ago. I had to leave a message. The next day I received a call that my information would be sent to the technician who would call me to schedule and I have not as of yet heard back, 3 days later. I will absolutely never deal with this company again.

Great if they work-HORRIBLE SERVICE IF THEY DONT. I recently purchased 33k worth of Thermador appliances from Ferguson. I took delivery of the appliances and just had the 12k+ range installed. I am in the middle of my move and eager to be settled. It is defective and I tried calling your service line. After being on hold over 25 minutes Teresa answered the line and was brusque in manner. She informed me that I could wait until September 22 for service. That is quite a distance away, so I asked for an alternative. She said I could call one other authorized service technician in the Los Angeles area that is permitted to service your brand. I am unfamiliar with this process so I asked if it is I that would call, and if your company would be taking care of the payment, and she replied “if you would let me finish I would tell you”. I was merely asking about the process. SO rude. I thought you were meant to be a luxury brand.Certainly your call center missed the service piece of that experience. I said that I was “trying to get clear about the process and that she needn’t be rude about it- that I was unfamiliar with this process as I had not done it before”. Teresa curtly answered that if I didn’t like her manner that she would turn me over to another agent and before I could protest she promptly hung up on me. I am frankly appalled and I plan on putting this company on blast all over the internet for the lack of service, and ridiculous treatment.I have an expensive product that is defective, am in the middle of a move, and am merely trying to get something fixed. Now I have to spend additional hours chasing this down while working full time and attending to various other obligations. I would hope to get some assistance. Built a new home 5 years ago and paid the price to install Thermador major appliances. The oven failed twice during warranty and was out of service about 10% of the first year of operation. Most recently the main circuit board in the refrigerator failed. The fridge is 5 years old and Thermador doesnt make or keep any spare parts. My options are to try to find someone who can rebuild the board or buy a new refrigerator. We are trying to get the board repaired by a free lance computer jock. Well see how that goes. I bought a $4000 professional 36 oven/stove. The power outage just fried the circuit board. This was the only time a power outage has ever damaged anything we own. Their response was to call service department if power cycling for 15 minutes doesnt do anything. Then to talk to the power company about fixing the issue with power (like they can control weather). The part was probably $400 and the repair was for another $120-240. It could happen any time when there is a power outage.

We installed a 36 gas range in Feb. 2014. We have been remodeling our home for the past 2 1/2 yrs. and finally moved in a month ago. We have already had to have a repair service come out twice and he informed me we would become good friends. The range will not turn down low enough to simmer and the constant on & off of the 2 simmer burners is annoying. I dont know why we didnt look at reviews somewhere besides the thermador site. Silly us. The good news is that we have only one more repair to go and the lemon law kicks in. Both repairs were 2 different issues so well see what happens next. Anyway, dont be like us, DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST. So far Thermador has been nice to work with, well see if that continues.

I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer
I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer at the end of January 2019. The microwave did not work from installation. The repair man couldnt fix it after 2 months of working with him and Thermador. In the meantime, the repair man reinstalled the oven door poorly and it does not completely close. The warming drawer also does not heat evenly. After 2 plus months working with Thermador management, which never responds or finds resolution, and their certified repair companies, I am still without a microwave, oven and warming drawer that work properly.I have asked for my money back and they insist that I continually waste my time on the phone and at home waiting for someone to figure out how to repair the problem. I have a full time job and cannot spend endless days on trial and error. The management does not reach out to me with a better solution. I have to chase them. Each time there is a new person/manager with no follow up. When you pay that much money for quality, you would expect top notch products and customer service. Stay away from Thermador. You can find much better for a lesser price and better quality.

Seven years ago we remodeled our kitchen. Sadly the only location we had for a refrigerator was a wide, but shallow space. Our appliance contractor recommended this Thermador refrigerator Model # KBUDT4875E01, which cost over $14K! Recently the evaporator coil began leaking. We called the Thermador service department who referred us to a local repair company (Alltex Parker) in the DFW area. The service man told us our refrigerator was old, although is has a 12 year warranty. The good news is the $300.00 for parts was covered by our warranty. The bad news is the service call costs us $1500.00 for 4 hours to replace the coil! The service man informed us he sees many issues with Thermador appliances and it is not uncommon for these refrigerator coils to leak. He said he would be surprised if our refrigerator lasted the length of our warranty. This experience has taught me to do more appliance research upfront and to rely on customer reviews!

When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, we purchased all new appliances from the Thermador/Bosch... We have really enjoyed the big fridge, the oven and microwave...the dishwasher has typical Bosch problems, including a sticking soap dispenser door and fast build up of clogging in the arms...but, its really quiet and great when its working properly. The glass cooktop blew its control module, and took some time and expense to have Thermador fix it... They brought the wrong replacement unit first, and only got the right one when we pointed out their errors and pointed them to the correct unit... It cost about half the price of the unit to fix...so, not so good on repairs. Overall, the appliances are lovely, quite pricey, and not nearly so reliable as one would like.

I too have had a most unsatisfactory experience with my double wall ovens from Thermador. I am now on my 4th replacement heating coil. The electronic control panel went out in year 2 and Thermador advised me that I would have to replace the entire electronic motherboard. The temperature does not stay on consistently throughout the baking process. Their customer service is non-existent. I am so disappointed in the lack of quality in this expensive product. We purchased 2 Thermador gas ranges in 2005, one smaller wall unit and a larger free standing 6 burner model PG3668s/05. I hardly have used the larger oven, only for holiday turkeys and meals in the past 12 years, as it has continually needed servicing! I am very disappointed in this model as it was expensive, and larger yet not at all efficient as I had hoped with larger meals. I wish we had purchased 2 of the SEC301 type wall units instead of this deluxe gas range. The problems we continually have had with this range are mostly concerning the heat of the oven. It does not heat to the desired temperature! We have had North Town service this issue so many times, with the fan and the controls, and the starter, and it never seems to solve the heating up problem. Then the large door fell off! It is a heavy door and the hinges on one side broke. I have stopped trusting it to fully cook the food after half cooked casseroles and turkeys. I depend on the smaller unit for all my baking and cooking because of these issues. I trusted the Thermador brand and at first, was excited to have purchased this large, convection/gas range... however, the oven has been out of commission much more than it has been functioning! Repairs have cost us more than we have expected since the oven consistently doesnt heat up beyond 250 degrees, and the warranty for repairs is only 6 months! I will not purchase another large Thermador professional gas range again because of all the problems I have encountered with this model.

My husband and I had been planning on renovating our kitchen for three years before beginning construction. We finally made the big move and gutted from floor to ceiling redoing lighting, flooring, sheetrock, every part of the kitchen. We chose Thermador appliances after visiting many appliance stores and talking to friends that have Thermador. Also, when you are purchasing all new appliances the appliance package is hard to pass up. We debated on getting Sub Zero/Wolf because it was only $3,000 more but in the end decided on Thermador 2018 Freedom Refrigerator and Freezer much to our dismay. We got our refrigerator first because both were on back order. Within the first 24 hours our refrigerator lights were not working properly and the unit switched off and on. We had to contact a repair person within the first day of having it. They replaced the main board at this time. We then finally received our freezer and again issues. Both appliances (2018 Freedom Refrigerator and Freezer) completely quit working within the first week. We are beyond frustrated and disappointed. The customer service at Thermador is terrible!!! I am wondering if anyone is having these issues and for anyone considering new appliances dont buy Thermador!!

I purchased the Thermador appliance package that included the Sapphire dishwasher in 2020. Since day one we have had nothing but problems with the dishwasher. Dishwasher not drying- then after the first use we got an error code, then after the technician came to fix the issue, the floor display stopped working and the dishwasher drying cycle again failed. I had heard from friends that the Thermador dishwasher was no good and now I understand why.... How can a company peddle this garbage?I am requesting a new dishwasher as I don’t think it’s fair to have bought this lemon that never worked from the beginning. Am being told by the supplier- Ferguson’s that we must have 3 service calls before a new replacement can be considered. The motor was shipped to us, which seemed in good condition. It was not until we installed the motor it was not working properly. I called Thermador and spoke to Kayla who in turn told me if we did not have a technician install the product then they would not refund the motor. The motor was obviously defective and or broken before - how would we have known unless installing the unit. Now she stated her manager could do nothing for us. This was very upsetting after spending thousands on a stove and now this motor doesn’t work for the hood - its setting us back another $350 dollars. The customer service I received is poor! I have a 48 inch professional Thermador Range. Model # PG486GEBS/12. It came with the house when we purchased it. The house was new construction in 2007. Since the first year that we have had it, it has broken 14 different times and we have spent nearly $8,000 repairing it. The burners have broken a number of times. They wouldnt light at all. Ive replaced the simmer kits at least 5 times. The oven has also broken at least 5 times. Needed spark modules. Then there was the oven door latch that locked itself 4 times. Ive needed control board kits at least 2 times as well. Its a dual oven. It would turn itself off and not heat or it would not ignite at all. The burners on top would short out all of the time. I work full time and if we use the burners or the oven twice a week, that would be a lot. I finally got wise and called Thermador and they were awful and unhelpful. Last year, they did replace the parts for the burners for free but it took months for me to get them to actually send the parts. I had to provide more documentation than the Warren Commission had on JFKs assassination. This time around, the oven is broken again and needs an $800 repair. They offered to send me replacement parts for 50% of the cost, even though we have had nothing but problems. I declined their offer and am ripping this piece of garbage out of my house. They do not stand behind their products and the people that repair this appliance have stopped selling Thermador products completely. They look nice but are garbage. Do not spend the money on their ranges.

Later, when I opened my Thermador oven as it was on the Cleaning Cycle, the entire inside glass was broken in large cracks. When I opened the door, little powder flakes went on the floor. When I cleaned the floor, little pieces came into my skin. No blood or anything, it felt like slivers in the skin. They worked out in a week. So no serious damage, just hurt and bothered me. I dont think any oven glass should break. It was a very expensive downdraft in the counter island type stove. I consider it a serious safety issue. I called Abt to let them know what happened, I was referred to Thermador and it took many calls back and forth. I offered to send them photos of the damaged oven. But, they wanted a repairman to come. So, I lost time waiting and having a man come to say, Yes. It is broken glass. A repair man came out for no charge from Abt paid for by Thermador. Abt repairman said it was a thermo blast and not uncommon. Later Abt said they would submit a claim to Thermador. The door and glass were not available any longer and no other contact was made. I waited several weeks, called back regarding the claim and was told by Abt that Thermador was doing nothing. End of Story. Abt said that Thermador said my stove was too old. It was 20 years old. I understand things do not last forever, however, should glass explode for no reason and their product should last as long as it is maintained and cared for correctly, which it was.I was surprised that Thermador did not write me a postcard or email or call to say that they didnt care what happened... Too bad. But instead, they took no responsibility for their oven exploding. Never ever said, Oh sorry, just really indifferent. I am writing as I do not think that Thermador stands behind their product. This stove of mine had every bell and whistle and was supposed to be top of the line. I was surprised that I was not offered a small discount on a new stove, or even an apology letter. Their customer service is definitely not very good to their customers and they do not stand up for service or care to the consumer. Thank you for your time and I appreciate it if others were made aware of Thermadors lack of customer service and that also to expect a glass explosion in the oven without warning. Watch out when baking if small children are nearby.

We purchased the extended warranty for our Thermador range. The oven has stopped working on three separate occasions in the last 10 months. My contract clearly states that they will replace the item if it fails three times within a 12-month period (Lemon Policy). They are refusing to replace and are going to attempt to repair it again. The first time it went out (December), it was done for 6 weeks. Then, it went out again in March. And now it stopped working again 2 weeks ago.

I purchased a french door refrigerator & paid over 6k for it. I have to call the one & only repair man (who is authorized to fix it) every year since Ive gotten it. It has not cost me over 10k for this refrigerator. The customer service is also horrible. The technician has to come in to diagnose the issue, order the part (which takes a week or so) then come back again to install. Usually a 3 week fix. How do you expect your customer to be without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks! The only authorized technician also dont want to come & fit it because he said it is just a huge hassle to fix. It has so many issues: ie. Ice maker had to be replaced twice at a cost of $500.00 for the parts, twice, the sensor panel went bad & totally froze the entire cooling unit. Now my freezer section does not freeze causing me to throw out hundreds of dollar of food! Dont buy it!

Thermador Commercial Grade Stove with 6 Burner Gas Range - We have had nothing but problems with this unit since we bought it many years ago. I originally spent around $8,000 for the unit with the overhead hood and fan. Since then I have invested a minimum of another $6,000 in what appears to be bi-annual service calls. The main issues are: 1. Thermador does NOT support their units. They push you to factory authorized service shops. Okay not a big deal - makes sense. 2. My local service rep knows less about the unit than I do (sad statement). The typical response is something on the order of I think its the ???? part. I have to order one - cant guarantee it will fix the problem until I install it. That will be $150 plus $400 for the parts - see you when the part comes in. 3. I have to go to the dealer in the next region and pay him extra travel time to get decent service. Typically he is so busy servicing other Thermador units that he cant get to me for 3-4 weeks. 4. I have replaced the same gas burner control 5 times - thats a $1,000 in parts only. They have now discontinued the part (dont know why, they were making a killing selling them). So the next time it fails I cant use the stove. 5. My most recent event deals with gas leaks at the burners. Im told they no longer make replacements. They dont even know if it can be upgraded. The service shop wont check to see if it is something simple like a valve stem nut or tightening or packing issue. They told me to call Thermador to see what can be done. Nice receptionist at Thermador but no information - cant get to the engineering department to ask intelligent questions.6. Its a shame because the electric oven has worked flawlessly.I think a class action lawsuit is a great idea.

Labor rates quoted for repair is $99 for twenty minutes and $12.00 for each additional 12 minutes, basically $179 per hour. Also, I purchased a Thermador $6K range and have had to have service on it twice in 1 1/2 years. Thank goodness we purchased a five-year warranty. Never will I purchase another Thermador product.

I purchased a $6250 (current retail price) 30 inch freezer column in 2009 when we built our home. 18 months after installation, the ice maker ceased working. No warranty. The freezer failed to cool 6 weeks ago. The part necessary to rectify the problem was also not covered -- just like the ice maker. We opted not to replace the ice maker, which would have resulted in a $700 charge and we paid approximately $350 to repair the current issue. It is unacceptable, and really borders on criminal, to incur these types of failures on a unit this new at a high end price point. I have an old GE fridge/freezer in the garage that was only several hundred dollars that is still working after 25 years. Shame on Thermador. I have several other Thermador appliances that are suboptimal. The Bosch washer died last Christmas after six service calls. Dont purchase Thermador or Bosch. You will be sorry!

I spent $3629 on a Thermador C272ZS double wall oven in October 2003. It has never worked correctly since that time, despite more than a dozen service calls from factory authorized reps, some in warranty and some since warranty ended. Perpetual F33, F34 and, more recently, F24 error codes. It turns off on its own, the interior lights blink on and off on their own, and now this incessant beeping about an hour after cooking has ended. Interior cooking temp is always off by about 30% verified with oven thermometer. The thing frightens me enough that I turn off the breaker when leaving for more than a day. No one seems to be able to fix it. There are countless complaints about this problem on-line and it seems as though the company should compensate owners. My husband has been very ill the last two years and unable to work, so I dont relish the idea of buying a new oven at this time. I would never ever buy Thermador again.

We purchased Thermador appliances in 2007 thinking we were getting top of the line units. Instead, we have had unbelievable problems with the electronic oven, model ME301/ES. Every time there is even a slight momentary pause in power, the control panel must be reset. This is a lengthy process calling for the month, day, year, time, etc. Often, the reset process does not work and the power supply breaker switch must be flipped and reactivated in order to reset the oven panel. There is also a message which travels across the electronic screen providing a number to call. When called, you reach a travel agency! We paid very high dollar for this unit and Thermadors response is totally inadequate. There is obviously something faulty with the design of this unit and it should be the response of the manufacturer to correct it! Im very angry about this!

The entire ice maker unit, including electronics, needed to be replaced. $800 later we are EXCEEDINGLY unhappy. Repairman said “I can’t even count the number of units I’ve replaced”. Went on to say they are made by Whirlpool and if replaced in a Whirlpool unit the cost is a fraction of the Thermador. He noted that the higher priced brands cost a lot more to repair. The ovens in my 48 Thermador Range are garbage. For years I have had problems with the larger oven not heating to the proper temperature (getting up to 250 degrees regardless of where the temperature is set). The motherboard had to be replaced but it still hasnt worked properly. Its hit or miss when I turn it on to see if it will get past 250 degrees. Recently the smaller oven went out completely. Over eight hundred dollars in repairs later, the small oven now acts like the large oven and it is hit or miss to see if it will get up to the proper temperature. It seems to work better if I turn the larger oven on at the same time. Its absolutely unacceptable that there are so many complaints with this company. I will NEVER again purchase anything from Thermador. Now my dilemma is whether to continue to invest money in repairs or just chuck the whole thing and go with another brand. It makes me sick to think about it.

48 range with steam oven and warming drawer - I purchased over $14,000 worth of Thermador appliances February of 2014. I was installed at the end March. The flame is high on all burners which means you cannot cook on low or simmer without your pot boiling. The oven also cooks unevenly, burns in back and not on front portion of oven. I was told I needed to let oven preheat. I do that thank you very much. I have had 2 separate repair companies out and the last was told the Thermador said everything was fine.I have since contacted Thermador again many time, they do not return calls or emails and will NOT allow you to speak to anyone in management. Im just told my case is in review. I was actually told (by email) by one customer service person that they were very very busy on Mondays and she could not call me. Im still waiting. I purchased 3 Thermador appliances in 2015 when I remodeled my first Thermador kitchen, which I LOVED. First: the new wall oven, model MED271JS, the narrowest oven they make at 27 wide, does not heat properly. It beeps that it has reached the set temp., but actually is 50 degrees (more or less) below the set temp. Baking cookies is a crap shoot as to whether they will be flat, indicating too low an oven temp. and that is what I usually get...flat cookies. I have not been able to consistently correct this problem. Roasting is also unpredictable. I have ruined many of very expensive meals due to the temp problem.I have had our local Thermador repair people out 3-4 times to address the inconsistent heating problem. They were unable to correct the issue and told me that new ovens now take longer (up to 30 minutes) to preheat an oven, and that this oven was operating as it should. Also, the oven cannot be set to start at a later time. It does have a Sabbath mode, but that has to be scheduled the day before I want to start up the oven, which for me is useless. So the oven does not heat properly and has no TIME BAKE setting. I will not purchase a Thermador product for my new house that we are building.Second: the cooktop SGSX365FS, cooks beautifully. Temps are easy to control, but cleaning is a bear. The star shaped burners make cleaning far more difficult than round ones, but the shape does cover the bottom of pots better than round ones. And the glass plate under the knobs is not sealed to the cooktop, and is not removable to clean spills that flow underneath it! Now there is thoughtful engineering. I use a pipe cleaner to sort of clean the under surface. Lastly, the micro-convection microwave-oven combination unit, model MCES, works as expected. We often use it to bake small meals and the temp is far more predictable than in the main oven... It does not bake bakery very well but that is not recommended by Thermador. My first Thermador kitchen was beautiful and fabulous to use. Current Thermador products are sorely lacking. Sad.

36 pro range dual fuel 6 burner stainless - In the last 4 years we had 2 very serious situations with regards to Thermador ovens. The first incident was in a former home of ours where we decided to use the self-clean mode which we have had a lot experience with other brands in how to use a self-clean mode. After about 25 minutes the glass exploded sending glass throughout our kitchen. Had we not been at home, the oven would have continued to operate with the high risk of a fire. We moved to a new condo which had another Thermador oven. We put the oven on to preheat and again after 25 minutes a fire started in our oven caused by the heat sensor incorrectly reading the temperature. Thermadors response to this leaves us with the impression that they dont care about issues with their ovens even if it means that a dangerous situation could occur.

We bought Thermador appliances throughout four years ago when re-modeling our kitchen. Never again. Thermador is junk, its priced two or three times what a normal appliances cost, and they dont last as long as a typical Hotpoint. Our double wall ovens, model PODC302, ($5,700) have had temperature-accuracy problems after a year of use. Weve had thermostats replaced. We will likely need the control panel to be replaced (thats $1,500). The ovens currently either heat to 500+ degrees when set to 250-300 or they dont heat at all, ruining another holiday dinner. Our microwave, model MBES, ($1,500) has a door-open button made out of taffy -- replaced twice so far and failing again. The dishwasher works, and the $11,000 built-in fridge/freezer only required two service calls to work properly. So far. So thats 50% of the stuff that doesnt work. Never, ever buy Thermador. Their products are astronomically-priced trash, their support is nonexistent, and their replacement part costs are straight out of the Porsche parts-pricing school. Live and learn.

The product does not function; the repair person they sent was not helpful and wants me to wait until January 3, 2017 for a repair, and I cannot talk to anyone but an after hours messaging center about my non-functioning oven a day before Christmas. On December 3, 2016, my family tried to use its new Thermador double oven (Model ME302JS/04) and received an error code (118). We called to the customer service line for help and they failed to send a technician. We called again, but could not get a technician until December 23. When the technician came, he did not have the necessary parts - despite contacting the company weeks earlier and giving them the exact error code for the problem. The next available repair slot is January 3, 2017. We are in the middle of installing a new kitchen with all new Thermador appliances. We bought Miele for the dishwasher instead of the free Thermador. At this point, we wish we went all Miele for everything and here is why. Nothing has been used yet since we are awaiting countertops and water but we have electricity to the appliances. Right out of the box, one of the Thermador ovens has a defective main circuit board. The drawer microwave has a defective control panel. What is Thermadors response? Call a repair shop. Which we did, waited a week, tech shows up and yup its defective. Now we are waiting 4 weeks for the parts and then a week later, maybe they will repair our brand-new, never used, just installed Thermador appliances.Thermador is a brand name owned and managed by the same folks that make Bosch which is sold at Home Depot, etc. Thermador has splashy ads in high-end magazines, etc. but it is all hype. The product quality and service is abysmal. We were flabbergasted that Thermador would not let our kitchen designer/dealer replace the defective units. If you are considering premium appliances we would recommend Miele. Check out the information online before you buy. Miele is a private, family-owned company that is uncompromising in their focus on quality. They cost more than Thermador but they are worth it. We have three Miele dishwashers at other properties. Previously, we had a Thermador cooktop downdraft that the blower motor died after two years.

In 2003 we built our new home, and builder chose all Thermador appliances for the kitchen. We thought it was a reputable brand, and went along with it. These are the worst appliances we have owned. The electric smart zone stove takes literally hour to bring water a boil, wasting my time. I have two ovens, one of which lost its LED display and required replacement. The other does not heat the inside on BAKE, you have to put it on CONVECTION. On both, the door stopped closing completely after a while, requiring repair (even though we use the ovens maybe once every other week at maximum). The dishwasher, which does not clean dirty dishes (you have to prewash them) required repairs twice. The bottom dish rack is rusted and it costs ~$200 to replace it. When we renovated our kitchen 6 years ago we got all Thermador appliances. The dishwasher has since been replaced (after 4 years and over $1,500 in repairs that lead to nothing), the double ovens work but I cannot read the digital display that shows the time or timer. This has never worked since day one and no matter what the technician tried to do, it didnt fix the problem that area just flashes. My favorite (tongue in check) appliance by far is the fridge. After about 8 months the left door suddenly wouldnt close. We discovered the plastic sleeve that rolls in when closing and out when opening kept buckling and we would have to smooth it over with our hands in order to close the door. Try having anyone under 5 feet do that every time they open the fridge door. This has been repaired 4 times. Presently, the door does not shut again, the fridge turns off every night so we wake to a warm fridge and turns itself back on once we start opening the doors in the morning. The ice maker also stopped working last week. Technician is coming today. I cannot tell you how excited I am to hear what will need to be done and the cost to start the process to fix the problems. If history repeats itself, I will spend a few thousand dollars trying to repair what is wrong, only to discover that I will need to spend more money to try other fixes... since the ones we have done are not working. If you are thinking about buying a Thermador... DO NOT DO IT. Leaking Brand New Thermador 36-Inch Built-In Refrigerator (KI KBM36US). Model Number: T361B900SP/09. FD: 9812. Serial Number: 100481. We moved into a new condominium in September 2020 with brand new high-end Thermador appliances which we paid a high premium for. We adored the brand and its sleek design. Unfortunately, the Thermador refrigerator has been nothing but a nightmare for us. January 2021: It stopped cooling and became warm inside after barely 4 months of use. Feb 2, 2021: We created a ticket with our building management and the breaker was reset. Feb 9, 2021: The refrigerator was still not cooling so a service call was placed with Thermador. We were told that they are not on-site so we have to wait for an ETA but no one followed up. Feb 16, 2021: An urgent service call to Thermador. Feb 24, 2021: We were informed that a Thermador technician won’t be able to come until March 11 since they were so backed up. March 18, 2021: A Thermador technician finally came. He replaced the inverter board then quickly fled by saying “it’s fixed but takes a few hours to lower the temperature....” He never returned for follow up.April 2021: It is still not cooling. May 5, 2021: Second Thermador technician came and we were told that a new compressor is needed after he inspected the unit. We have to wait for the replacement part to arrive before they return. May 17, 2021: Third Thermador technician came back with a new compressor but he noticed a complete leak of refrigerant, which he determined to be the culprit (which probably makes sense since this refrigerator never worked in 2021 despite having reset and changed parts). We were told that we will likely be without a refrigerator for three months and repairing the fridge would take even longer till September. The technician did put in a request that the refrigerator be replaced as the leak is apparently in a difficult area to try to fix so no guarantee of functionality even after the repair in September. Both I and my wife have complex medical conditions requiring a modified diet but without a functional refrigerator for the last five months, we have largely relied on take-out three meals daily. As a result, our blood pressure and blood sugar have been significantly elevated during our last medical check-up. I am also on injectable insulin requiring refrigeration. I have relied on a small old refrigerator I borrowed since the Thermador malfunctioned in January and I am so worried that it will fail and ruin all my medications. We understand the delay related to the pandemic and we have been more than patient through the long daunting process. However, the service from Thermador has been completely incompetent and neglective, resulting in much hardship for our daily life, medical and mental health. It is absolutely unacceptable at this point and we request Thermador to replace the refrigerator as soon as possible!

We had a Thermador double oven installed (built in) in 1999. We have had two major issues in that time. First was the control panel replacement - the electric panel needed to be switched out with a new one (2006). Now the convection feature for both ovens is not working (the bake, broil, self-clean are working properly - thats the good news!). So I called Customer Service and did you know the life of a Thermador oven is roughly 13 years? My message is, dont be fooled by Thermador!

No replacement part available for a $1300.00 Thermador oven - The part of the thermostat on our oven that controls the self-cleaning mechanism is broken. There are no replacement parts available and was told there never would be. The stove is 10 years old. I cannot even get the company to tell me how to hand clean the oven so that I do not do damage to it. Customer service is non-existent at Thermador. We are stuck with an expensive 48 oven and hood that our kitchen was built around. I am sickened by Thermadors lack of customer service. I am desperate to find this part or have one made. Thermador would not help me with advice and will not return calls.

Thermador - This double oven has been used about 400 times. The upper oven has been used once. The oven fan is so loud you have to talk loudly above it. Good luck in an open kitchen like I have. My 2 friends have this oven and dont have the noise. Thermador told me (under warranty) when they came out that it was just loud. Too bad. They didnt do a thing. I never would have bought the oven. The display light has gone out now. No problem, just the electronic display board. $500.00 to fix an oven I hate. $100 for Thermador to come out, but you get 18 minutes. Hurray. Then $120 an hour. The board is $350 to see the temperature in your oven. Completely ridiculous for a consumer to buy an oven and have these issues. I would do anything to have my quiet, KitchenAid convection oven back! Complete monopoly in Los Angeles. There are no authorized repair folks, just Thermador. You are located on our turf, no other service options is what I was told.

Thermador customer service was useless, telling me I had to get a repair company here before they’d consider paying. These ovens were installed late August 2019! Cannot get anyone here for a week. Bought a full kitchen suite of commercial grade Thermador products in 2013. Got the one-two-free promotion so a great price point and other leading brands had equal pro/con review. Have had continual problems since day one; oven has been repaired 4 times for motherboard, temp dial, heating consistency, burners not igniting; freezer ice maker repaired 3 times for clogging ice buildup which shuts down the ice maker and needs to be re-set. Still clogs and quits but I have stopped calling for expensive repair visits and now turn off the freezer for 10 minutes to re-boot the ice maker every time it clogs (about every other month); refr has salad makings consistently condense and rot with water after two days.Read all the manuals, following instructions. Today needed to change out a bulb in the oven and find the lamp housing installed backwards in the very back of the oven, making it almost impossible to get a screwdriver in to pry the glass lens off (well, actually havent got this accomplished yet so maybe it is impossible). The auto-shut off for warming drawer (as part of range) has never worked. Repairman said he could replace drawer for $1,000 - think I will place a $.01 post it note on it for turn-off reminder. Products all look great - but look for other brands! I would not buy Thermador again and as an architect I have my clients look at any other brand first.

This is a Thermador, built-in, French-door fridge/freezer (Model #T36IT800NP), only 2 yrs. old that cost approx. $8500, uninstalled, pre panels. The design is very poor to begin with. The shelves span all the way across the interior. Having split shelves that allow different height items (like most French door refrigerators) would allow far more versatility in storage. As it is, all tall items must go in the door which means condiments clutter up the only three shelves. Within the first year, the seal on the left door started to fail. Next was the ice maker (made by Samsung!). The water filter needs to be changed every 6 mos. The first change was fine, the second change was not recognized by the computer and the change filter display was constantly illuminated. I had a service tech out who suggested I try another filter, perhaps my replacement was defective. I could ignore the display, but it quit making ice. Then it started making ice again sporadically. At this point, the tech suggested I order a new ice making unit and filter valve. Before I could even place the order, the machine went hyper and made so much ice it overflowed (supposed to have a sensor to prevent that) blocking the back of the freezer drawer so that it could not close. After removing the ice blockage, the flimsy top freezer shelf (which holds the ice bin) would not close and small piece of plastic that kept it in place fell off. Upshot, had to turn off the erratic ice maker, permanently remove the top shelf and bin, and we now have no ice mid-summer.I did my research and had ordered a KitchenAid, problem with stocking and time crunch so ended up with this very expensive and disappointing model on the recommendation of the sales person. Massive mistake! Top of the line machines should NOT be made with cheap parts. It also appears that the warranty will not cover any of the parts or labor to replace. Ive built many kitchens, but this is the first appliance that Ive ever regretted purchasing. Caveat emptor!

We paid a little over $25K for Thermador appliances and have had this equipment for almost three years. Our experience has been very poor. Given the price point, the equipment is unbelievably terrible. i.e. Our GE Profile appliances in our prior house had ZERO issues in 5 years and the equipment was 4 years old when we moved it. Thermadors customer support is difficult to reach. Theyre techs act like their is not a larger issue at hand even after youve called them 5 - 7 times over the same issue.1. Double Oven (digital version): The double oven is either too hot or too cold (weve called Thermador 5 - 7 times and every time they come out their techs say Our ovens are within tolerance if they are 25 degrees over or under the set temperature! Literally, the $400 Magic Chef oven/stove top that I grew up with had a more accurate and consistent oven temperature than the Thermador.2. Stove top and Fridge: These havent been so bad. The stove top had some issues with flames not burning even, which was resolved with new hardware. The fridge hinge wore into the plastic which was super annoying.3. Dishwasher: Three years into use, this dishwasher stopped working. Weve spend $500 in repairs and the non-Thermador tech said that Thermador appliances are known to have maintenance issues. Dishwasher will not run. First the pump stopped working, but it turned out there was a wire loose. Now we need a new electronic panel--Im throwing this thing out and buying a Miele or Asko.4. Customer Service: No joke there are times that Ive waited for 30 - 50 minutes to reach customer support. Thermador techs tend to be arrogant and believe their equipment is the best (which wouldnt be a big deal if Thermadors appliances backed up it).I would not recommend Thermador--youd be better off buyings anything/something cheap from Lowes or Home Depot.

I remodeled my kitchen 6 years ago and purchased 4 major appliances from a dealer specializing in this company - Thermador! I researched Thermador and saw that they were highly rated. Well, every appliance has been a piece of trash and I cant use my oven as it doesnt keep temperature and the part has been in limbo for 2 months. My induction cooktop has been repaired a couple of times over these 6 years. Now my dishwashers springs have popped and I am waiting for a certified Thermador tech to come and fix it. I am afraid to try my Thermador steam oven in the case that it may break before I sell my house and wont meet inspection. What a BAD company selling this trash. BEWARE!!!

We purchased Thermador thinking it was a high-end model. After 10 years, over the last 6 months our Cooktop and Convection oven (Model SC302TS) have gone bad. In both cases we have been told the replacement parts are no longer available. I would definitely not recommend Thermador products. When I spoke to their customer support, this seemed to be consistent with their strategy/philosophy, to not carry replacement parts for greater than 5-10 years.

Buyer beware - if you need support, you won’t get it easily from Thermador based on my experience. They charged me about $750 for a replacement part for a fridge. The part arrived in approx. Sept. 2021. For two months they have been unable to coordinate two techs (the number needed) to come install the part for my fridge. On the first visit, despite my reminding them in advance that we needed two techs, only one came and couldn’t do the job. He rescheduled for a month later. On the day, no one came (not a typo). Instead, Theramdor claims I cancelled the appointment… Why would I do that? Now it’s the third visit —11/29/2021. Despite advising them again that we needed two techs, they coordinated only one. I called today (11/28) to confirm they would get two out here, and there was literally nothing they could do to confirm one way or another. I’ve asked to speak with supervisors on multiple occasions. I keep being told a supervisor would “call me back.” No one has ever called me back. For a company selling high end (ie, very expensive) appliances, you would think they could treat their customers with a smidgen of respect. Definitely the last time we buy a Thermador product. It’s just not worth the headache in my opinion, particular with an appliance that is only about 5 years old.

Thermador Professional Pro-Guard Model PRL486EDG/02 - After reading many of the reviews on this website, it is fitting that we share our negative experience as well. Many of the issues posted by other owners are the same we have experienced - small oven explosion, XLO burners not working, replacement of both oven controls and most recently, ovens not operating. The stove is 5 years old and was purchased new. The first issues began shortly after moving in to our new home. The local authorized service representative really didnt know much about the equipment. We have since found a local repair rep who has tried to repair each issue and has gotten timely tech support but for the most part, it has been to replace a part. Currently, every feature is working; however, we do not recommend buying a Thermador product due to lack of meaningful warranty, customer support, and the cost of ownership. We will replace it rather than invest any more money in life support. Had we discovered this forum before we purchased the stove, we would have chosen another manufacturer.

Based on our experience, changing the one-year warranty to five years would be the only way we would recommend Thermador. You will read in my post what was under the one-year warranty, which is not sufficient. We purchased a refrigerator, stove and vent hood, dishwasher, under the counter double drawer refrigerator, and double drawer refrigerator top/freezer bottom, all purchased between 2017 - 2019. The vent hood motor, installed in 2017, has been replaced twice—one under warranty and one we just bought last week (11/2020) for $400++. The refrigerator replacement parts are drawer rollers, freezer drawer latch (not warrantied), and icemaker sensor was replaced under warranty. The double drawer refrigerator/freezer ice maker was not working when delivered in September of 2019, replaced under warranty. Currently, the dishwasher has a high pitch sound when you start it and only runs on the auto setting. All other wash settings do not run. Due to COVID, income loss, and out of warranty, we havent addressed this issue. Vent hood labels have all worn off, and if liquid splatters on the stovetop while cooking, mostly burn on the surface. Yes, a removable cover would be great, as mentioned in another post. How about one for the oven? Remember, all issues happen between 2017 and 2020; three years!

I purchased a complete set of Thermador appliances, double oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and refrigerator three years ago for my kitchen remodel. Every appliance has stopped working at least once. This Thanksgiving 2011, while cooking dinner for 25 family members, the ovens went out again. The oven and refrigerator has quit three times. They were repaired once under warranty and I have paid over 1600.00 for the other repairs. This stuff is junk. We remodeled our kitchen before moving into our, new to us, but older home, back in 2014. When it was time to choose appliances, I was extremely excited, being a baker especially wanting to enjoy our new oven. The existing gas stove in the home was a Thermador so I thought I would get the same brand for the oven. The salesman wasnt very helpful so I just chose the double convection oven. Surprisingly, the convection aspect was not useful in controlling odors emanating from the oven, as I was told it would.Recently, the control panel went out, affecting many functions of the oven, the main one being only ONE oven would turn on at a time. The repair person explained the two year warranty and although this was a very expensive repair; upwards of $600, Thermador would not reimburse me for that reason. The oven also heats food is quite unevenly. Additionally we paid for the upgraded glider shelves, which do not glide appropriately. Then I discovered part of the shelf is bent, which explains the poor function, yet also indicates poor quality control. Overall, I am not impressed with this brand and would not recommend them.

We purchased both of these units. Thought we would not have to worry about buying appliances for awhile...wrong!! The panel on the oven, even if you are cooking, turns off... starts beeping with a code f24. Thermador is fully aware of this problem. There is also a recall. If you try using the self-clean feature, the oven can catch fire. I did an online search for this oven. There is a recall -- An 800 number is listed on line for the owner to call. This is to set up a repairman to come out. This site claims they are open to take callers 24/7. I have heard a recorded message that has said, Thank you for calling, a customer service person will be with you shortly. I have heard this message 178 times as of this minute. As for the propane cook top, with the built in BBQ, the flames are so low, I stopped using the cook top, called out a repairman. He said, No way can I increase the flame size. Cost to me -- over $9,000.00, PLUS INSTALLATION. So, if you still want to purchase anything Thermador, you have a problem...it will be on you. You have been warned.

When we remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago we purchased Thermador appliances - 2 ovens, an induction stovetop, and a dishwasher. I called for repairs on the ovens right away. They did not cook to temperature. Sometimes it takes me twice as long to cook a recipe. When making cookies and the recipe say 12 minutes, I set the trimmer for 16. When the repair man got there he told me that I needed to learn to cook again and that the times on recipes were not right. I told him that if an oven cooked to temp, then if they say it is done in 30 minutes, then it should be. I was told that, This is the way German engineers wanted it. I guess they do not want their appliance to work accurately. So we called the factory show room in Burlingame and attended their cooking class. I kept asking them about my problem with the ovens not being on temp. There I was told that I needed to look up on a chart the weight of our food and what type of food it is to determine the cooking time and temp. I was told to never just turn the oven on but to always use the fast preheating setting. This is hog-wash. To this day my ovens do not cook to temp and baking anything is a gamble. I have been very disappointed with my Thermador ovens.

Guy came to fix our oven and was beyond insulting to me. I requested a second guy, who fixed the first problem but then did something that incapacitated 3 out of 6 of our burners, which had worked perfectly when he walked in the door. He told me it would be another $1000 to fix the burners. Really? In the last house we rented, we had a Thermador microwave which did nothing but turn food into a slimy mess. Popcorn could not be made in the microwave. Really? This brand seems awful all the way around.

And then he went on vacation, then he was too far, too tired etc. I called the company and was treated with disdain. They just suck!!!

We built a new home and Thermador MADE us upgrade to the newer model because they sold the one we bought. THAT said, our freezer broke 2 years later. After multiple attempts to repair with a local third party repair company, Thermador admitted they CANT fix our freezer. As you can imagine they will NOT replace ours free of charge and want to charge us money for a new one. We have been trying to get this fixed or replaced for over 6 months and they will NOT help us. They will NOT do what they say and they will not email or call us back as they have promised over the last 8 phone calls. Each time I call I sit on the phone for at least 30-50 min before getting through and getting NOwhere with them. This is an awful company with awful service and products. DO NOT BUY their products. It is the worst service I have ever had by a luxury company. what a waste of money and time.

We recently purchased a home that has a Thermador range in it. I love to cook and believed this unit was a high end range, just waiting, waiting for an opportunity to use it. Well, the first time I turned it on, the igniter did not work. That was replaced however, the oven door does not close all the way. In reading the numerous reviews, it seems the hinges are faulty. All I can say is, of all the ranges I owned, I have never had to replace either the igniter or the oven door hinges. Appears Thermador, maybe resting on its laurels, or what used to be.

$14k oven external temp gauge broke a few weeks after short warranty. After multiple phone calls the company agreed to fix it. They replaced the whole computer panel. However, this was NOT the problem and the temp gauge was still broken. They argued this was not the original issue I called in about (it was). I even have the pictures I took when I initially called them that highlighted the broken temp gauge. Now they want to charge me $500 for the repair. I absolutely hate them. Will go back to less expensive appliances in the future or companies that back their products and services. Thermador was a HUGE waste of money.

Where do I begin? The refrigerator, ice machine leaked and ruined my beautiful wood floors. The doors dont line up properly. The cook top on my stove needed repair. The clock on my oven stopped working and now the microwave sounds like there are loose parts in the machine. Nice looking appliances, but not worth the money! Do Not Purchase Thermador. There is better out there for the same money.
