Product Reviews:

Bought a full kitchen suite of commercial grade Thermador products in 2013.
Bought a full kitchen suite of commercial grade Thermador products in 2013. Got the one-two-free promotion so a great price point and other leading brands had equal pro/con review. Have had continual problems since day one; oven has been repaired 4 times for motherboard, temp dial, heating consistency, burners not igniting; freezer ice maker repaired 3 times for clogging ice buildup which shuts down the ice maker and needs to be re-set. Still clogs and quits but I have stopped calling for expensive repair visits and now turn off the freezer for 10 minutes to re-boot the ice maker every time it clogs (about every other month); refr has salad makings consistently condense and rot with water after two days.Read all the manuals, following instructions. Today needed to change out a bulb in the oven and find the lamp housing installed backwards in the very back of the oven, making it almost impossible to get a screwdriver in to pry the glass lens off (well, actually havent got this accomplished yet so maybe it is impossible). The auto-shut off for warming drawer (as part of range) has never worked. Repairman said he could replace drawer for $1,000 - think I will place a $.01 post it note on it for turn-off reminder. Products all look great - but look for other brands! I would not buy Thermador again and as an architect I have my clients look at any other brand first.

The worst service ever! My brand new range had a broken oven glass door and wont heat up to correct temperature. Didnt show up at scheduled time or later that day. Needed to reschedule. Finally came back and technician didnt know how to fix oven temp problem but did install new glass door. As temp problem still existing another appointment made with a request to have a different tech. Although appointment confirmed morning service call no one showed up. Customer support department worthless as only a call desk. Has no way to communicate with technicians nor can provide a COI as required in most apartment buildings in NYC. I will never buy another Thermador product again!

We had a range from Thermador that never quite worked. After growing frustration, we finally called service and they told us that there was a defect with the logic board for our year of manufacture. However, because we waited so long (partially because of the pandemic) we were out of our two year warranty and they wouldnt repair the defect without spending $700 on the repair. This is for a $20,000+ range. Avoid this company like the plague.

I want other people to know that as long as your appliance is in warranty, Thermador will take good care of you. If a problem comes up out of warranty they do not want to work with you and try to send you to a service co. that rips you off. They will not help you with problem, will not let you talk to their tech person, will not give you a parts or repair manual. They leave you to the mercy of service people. My latest repair of a range parts will be $40.31 plus labor. Their service co wants my credit card number and $792.88 to service unit plus if tech not able to complete job and returns they want another $550.00 service call.I will not specify Thermador products on my designs anymore, and I will repair my range myself. I was not aware I was leading customers into this trap. I called three local service companies and all were around $250.00 to fix including if they had to get a part and come back. No extra charge. I spent a lot of time trying to get Thermador to help me, even went to supervisor. They would not help at all.

The double wall oven is 2 years old and very seldom used. When using the upper oven, the probe light is on. I could not set the temp of the oven as the probe was primary. We never used the probe in any cooking process. An authorized tech for Thermador came and narrowed down the problem to be the probe element of the motherboard needs to be replaced. The cost range is between $525-775 to repair both. Thermadors response, It is not under warranty! The tech made an interesting observation when he opened the oven door. Is this a new oven or do you not use it much? Never again will we purchase Thermador.

My Thermador double oven is not working after three visits and several repairs from an appliance company this past week. The temperature reaches 250 and then it turns off. The broilers do not ignite; the griddle does not work and et cetera. I have been told that this model has been very problematic, and after reading many of the dismayed comments from others, I am wondering what recourse the consumers have. The reports are terrible. This company is not reputable, and the consumers are being ripped off.

We purchased our unit Thermador Pro Grand 48in stove around 2009. Have had nothing but problems with the unit. The biggest being the big oven is undependable. I complained constantly that my food was not cooking properly and everyone thought I was nuts. When I start the oven, I can hear the gas come on, then it shuts off again immediately. Today, July 21st, 2014, after replacing parts in Feb. 2014, I have to call someone again because it is broken again. We average 2 service calls a year with parts and labor. This unit also has a design flaw. The electronics sit under one of the burners and if you have a boil over you are in trouble. I am so hugely disappointed in this product and would not recommend Thermador to anyone.

Dont buy Thermador ranges. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND A LOT OF IT. Weve had the ProGrand garbage for 1 year. Excluding previous problems, the most recent is the oven lights no longer function. Called Thermador for assistance. They stated that while still under warranty, the oven bulbs (2 of them) are a routine consumer maintenance issue and a tech would not be assigned. So, I spent $40 for a bulb. Despite I specified that no lights function in the oven, Thermador sent me only 1 light. With much difficulty, I replaced the defective bulb in the lower right of the oven. Powered the oven back up, AND NOTHING. Removed the new bulb and placed it into the upper left socket. After powering back up, AND NOTHING.Frankly, Ive never had to replace an oven bulb in a 10 year old oven, you know, the far cheaper commonly found brand names of Kenmore, Amana, Frigidaire or other LOW END ovens. But for $10,000 you can buy a Pro Grand and have all kinds of fun calling for support, technicians, and an oven that is pure, bonafide garbage. Get this, in preheating mode, the oven will on occasion never reach set point. Rebooting the power supply seems to help. The racks are a dream too. They are extremely difficult to interchange to a new height setting. And they DONT CARE.On a prior occasion speaking with Thermador support, I asked if I could convey my dissatisfaction with their quality group. Specifically, they have some serious quality control issues. I was told that was not possible. This oven, and the lack of Thermadors concern is all the reason a consumer needs to know that this product is garbage and very expensive at that, relatively to conventional offerings. STAY AWAY, DONT BUY A THERMADOR OVEN.

We have purchased a full range of new Thermador appliances from Howard’s. We were instructed to make full payment for everything in July to ensure we get all our appliances in time for installation by end August. We are still waiting for our oven and microwave which we are told is on backorder for end October. They blame it on Thermador slow production. Why take our money if they can’t deliver? Calling Thermador to complain is the most horrific experience to go through. They keep you on hold for more than an hour and then cut you off. Twice!!! We have made a terrible mistake going with this brand, I can just imagine how their after sales experience is going to be if this is still pre-installation?!

Buyer beware - if you need support, you won’t get it easily from Thermador based on my experience. They charged me about $750 for a replacement part for a fridge. The part arrived in approx. Sept. 2021. For two months they have been unable to coordinate two techs (the number needed) to come install the part for my fridge. On the first visit, despite my reminding them in advance that we needed two techs, only one came and couldn’t do the job. He rescheduled for a month later. On the day, no one came (not a typo). Instead, Theramdor claims I cancelled the appointment… Why would I do that? Now it’s the third visit —11/29/2021. Despite advising them again that we needed two techs, they coordinated only one. I called today (11/28) to confirm they would get two out here, and there was literally nothing they could do to confirm one way or another. I’ve asked to speak with supervisors on multiple occasions. I keep being told a supervisor would “call me back.” No one has ever called me back. For a company selling high end (ie, very expensive) appliances, you would think they could treat their customers with a smidgen of respect. Definitely the last time we buy a Thermador product. It’s just not worth the headache in my opinion, particular with an appliance that is only about 5 years old.

I just purchased Thermador/Bosch appliances for our newly constructed/remodeled home. I regret it already. The refrigerator needed a replacement part at installation. This should have been a blazing red flag. 3 months after installation, the dishwasher stopped functioning. The part is on back order for so long that they are giving me a replacement, but it will take another 3 weeks. I will be out of a dishwasher for approximately 8 weeks. I have an infant meaning that I have to hand wash all bottles/breast pump parts non-stop. The customer service is garbage - the four (yes, count them, four) women I have spoken to are all rude and it appears that their employees take vacation every other day (at least that is what they have been attributing repeated lack of responsiveness). I hate this company already and now it looks like I am going to be dealing with them for years to come...great.

I bought a suite of Thermador appliances a year and a half ago. Had issue with the oven and did NOT like their repairman. Recently our microwave handle began to peel. The foil covered a plastic handle which attaches to the front of the door. I actually cut my pinky opening the door from the foil. I found that I cannot get a warranty for it as it is over 9 months old. This will definitely happen again from stove heat and steam from the burner. It took over two months for the part to come in. I did not pay as this was under the 2 year warranty that came with it but I will pay next time probably almost 200$ to replace it. Should I just buy a new Microwave? Pathetic

I have a 36” gas/gas convection oven. It’s almost 4 years old. Bought it from ABT in Glenview Il. The bake setting never worked. I had service at least 4 times. I was told to get use to it. That’s how this oven works. If the oven is used for long time the temperature drops. I was told to do the biscuits test. When I send them the picture they told me that I used the wrong rack... We recently purchased a Thermador oven and paid over $10k for it. It has been cooking very unevenly - undercooked on one side, burnt on the other. The burners also function unevenly. The process of getting it serviced has been a nightmare. Thermador, through Bosch, has been unresponsive, inflexible, and unwilling to resolve quickly. Weve had three service calls and the oven has gotten worse. Charles ** is our rep at Bosch and had been ineffective, and Ferguson appliances in Dallas was the showroom and has been unresponsive. Terrible, I would never recommend this to anyone.

We have a Thermador wall oven that is 5 years old. Have used the self cleaning feature maybe on it, one or two times at most. We bought it through (Ferguson, in Fayetteville, GA., which they dont maintain records after a year). Anyway last week pressed the self cleaning button, and after it was done and the door unlocked, the total inside of the glass was shattered. I called client services at Ferguson, which the lady responded that shouldnt of happened. And told me to call Thermador and have it evaluated. Which they came out a week later, and it will cost $190.00 to fix. So again I wont be recommending their product to any of my clients in the future. Wolf or Viking here I come.

Updated on 11/03/2020: We bought a package of appliances for our home and because of past experience (20 years ago) with Thermador we decided to go that route again. It was a huge mistake as Thermador quality and customer service are far different now. We paid about $13,000 for the range and it has not worked since being installed. Had a service appointment scheduled which was three weeks out. When the date came no one showed up and they conveniently said they showed no appointment in their records. This caused another 3 week delay. Guy finally showed up today and once again he said he had to order parts and will schedule an appointment to install the parts. We are now at 2 months without an operating range. I strongly recommend anyone looking at Thermador, Subzero or any of their products to rethink it. These people are difficult to deal with, have next to no customer support and they could care less about their companys failure to take care of its customers.Original Review: We remodeled our home and used Thermador products. We originally had a Thermador range we build home the home 22 years ago. That range was pretty problem free. We bought the same type of model as well as a subzero refrigerator and other appliances. We just moved back into our home and tried to use the ovens. They failed and are not working. Called Thermador and they said it will take 3 weeks to get anyone out. No sense of urgency and next to zero in support. I would never use their products again and will certainly never recommend them. To expect someone to wait 3 weeks is insane.

My new Thermador dishwasher was installed on 6-12-06. When the original warranty was about to expire I decided to purchase an extended warranty, something I have continued to renew every year. Why? Because every single year Ive had this dishwasher, Ive had problems with it (wouldnt fill with water, water wouldnt drain, machine wouldnt shut off, etc). At the present time Ive been without a dishwasher for over a week because the machine isnt cleaning at all. I paid over $1,700.00 for this dishwasher and in the 8 years Ive owned it it has already needed repairs more than ALL of the cheap dishwashers Ive ever owned combined. Never again!!

Puchased my second set of Thermador appliances for a new apartment. The 36 Inch fridge with bottom freezer, came with a door does not close fridge overheats - so its turned off. This is NEW. Instead of giving me a new fridge, they have to repair. Also, after spending $26,000 on appliances you would think that the stainless steel used would match. Dishwasher stainless is glossy and rest of appliance stainless without shine; and it look pretty obvious. Customer service has nothing to say - they manufacture with different providers. I have had a very disappointing experience with Thermador and apart from keeping an induction cooktop since my granite was already cut! I returned all of my other Thermador items. The dishwasher (included in a buy +2 appliance package) independently measured as high as 70dBA vs. the advertised 48dBA. The 30 micro/oven wall combination came (twice) with a misaligned oven door. It was confirmed to me, after the fact, by a Thermador customer service person that Thermador is actually shipping ovens with a known defect that supposedly has an easy fix of replacement hinges. The issue is that NO ONE seems to know this! Not the Tech nor the appliance store. So +7 hours and 3 technician visits later (with minimum of 2 weeks between visits as I as told there are ONLY 2 techs that service the entire Austin, TX metro area). I am done with Thermador. I live in fear that should I have ever have a maintenance issue with the induction cooktop I have a 50% chance of getting the technician that was rude, condescending to me, my contractor, my designer and carpenter. So let me get this straight -- THERMADOR, you want me to pay top $$$ for your appliances. Chances are they may arrive defective. No one will know how to fix them (who wants a new $5000 appliance to need to be fixed anyway?) and on yeah, have to wait +2 weeks for a technician to come into my home and insult me. It doesnt get any worse than that. Thermador if you are reading this - shame on you!!! Perhaps you need to take a page from the KitchenAid playbook on how to treat your customers that are spending a ton of money on your over-hyped products.

My very expensive Thermador wall oven has been giving me an F-34 error code. When going online, I see we are one of many consumers experiencing the poor quality of this companys product. As frustrating as it is to need to call out a repairman, even more frustrating is that with so many of us having the issue, the parts are no longer available (or were ever available?) to fix the error. I expect a couple hundred dollar oven to be considered disposable but when you spend several thousand on what is suppose to be commercial quality, you dont expect to have to replace them in a few short years.

It was more expensive than most but I liked the style and thought it would work well because it is good enough to spend the few extra dollars. The size fits well in my kitchen. We experienced our first service issue within 6 months and the problems have persisted. Thermador refuses replace the range and continues to put us through misery to maintain this $20,000 appliance. Repair Issue #3 – 1/12/21 through 1/26/21 • Complete failure of internal electronic components. • All electronic boards had to be replaced over multiple service calls.• Top griddle warped and had to be replaced. Repair Issue#4 - 3/9/21• Warming drawer display module failed. Still not repaired. Repair Issue #5 – 4/15/21• Rear fans making growling noise. Still not addressed. All warranty work to date has been conducted by Huff Appliance, 1314 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206. Phone (615) 226-2080. On 4/15/21 Huff Appliance stated, “This unit has so many issues that in my opinion this unit is unrepairable.” On 4/26/21 Thermador requested additional information of Huff Appliance on all issues to decide on if they will replace the unit. This process has grown increasingly frustrating, given Thermador has a detailed service record of the repairs which they (Thermador) authorized to date. Our warranty (2 years) has now officially expired, and it appears Thermador is attempting to wash their hands of this issue. We purchased this appliance for daily use and entertaining. Parts have taken weeks and months to arrive. During much of our ownership over two years it has been non-operational (and still is). We understand that given COVID, parts may take longer. Given this was a new unit we should have not been put in this situation. We have zero confidence this unit will not break down again due to its performance history. My wife had double hip replacement surgery 10 days ago and Thermador called this morning telling us they want to send another service agent to our home. Unfortunately we are at a point where we will need to get attorneys involved. Avoid this company at all costs, their customer service is terrible.

The door opens up even more causing the light to come on, and the heat cooks the computer. We replaced one computer for $800 and then two years later, we made the connection that it was cooking its computer as it started to fail, so we replaced the hinges ($200). That was six months ago and the door is still slightly open and cooking its own computer. The repairman came three times and tweaked something but the door is still open.

We purchased 2 Thermador gas ranges in 2005, one smaller wall unit and a larger free standing 6 burner model PG3668s/05. I hardly have used the larger oven, only for holiday turkeys and meals in the past 12 years, as it has continually needed servicing! I am very disappointed in this model as it was expensive, and larger yet not at all efficient as I had hoped with larger meals. I wish we had purchased 2 of the SEC301 type wall units instead of this deluxe gas range. The problems we continually have had with this range are mostly concerning the heat of the oven. It does not heat to the desired temperature! We have had North Town service this issue so many times, with the fan and the controls, and the starter, and it never seems to solve the heating up problem. Then the large door fell off! It is a heavy door and the hinges on one side broke. I have stopped trusting it to fully cook the food after half cooked casseroles and turkeys. I depend on the smaller unit for all my baking and cooking because of these issues. I trusted the Thermador brand and at first, was excited to have purchased this large, convection/gas range... however, the oven has been out of commission much more than it has been functioning! Repairs have cost us more than we have expected since the oven consistently doesnt heat up beyond 250 degrees, and the warranty for repairs is only 6 months! I will not purchase another large Thermador professional gas range again because of all the problems I have encountered with this model.

Speaking with Thermador design engineers in Calif. does NOT provide a solution to: Grill VALVE not functioning, Thermador does not offer a replacement valve, they do not manufacture the valves anymore. This is a $10,000 range. Thermador has told me to scrap this 6 foot wide stainless steel, double oven, 6 burner range and purchase a new one versus simply offering to REPAIR this unit. Do NOT buy Thermador, go commercial.

When our old Thermador oven gave up the ghost, we looked at Thermador plus two other competitive top-end brands. Picking another Thermador was not a hard decision after twenty plus years of great experience with our old oven. We were really sold by the way Thermador has improved their already beautiful stove top. The new unique simmer feature where the burner actually turns off and on automatically is amazing.

The device is a decent size and fit the area we had for it. It didnt take much to get it in the right position for it to fit snugly. Very good performance of the device. We have had no issues with how it runs and we use it constantly. Only once have we had to unplug but that was during a power outage. Very nice looking machine with some nice trim details. This looks like a quality appliance and would help the looks of most any kitchen. I have enjoyed this refrigerator immensely and really like the brand and functions. If youre in the market you wont go wrong with this one.

Remodeled kitchen 3 yrs ago & installed all Thermador appliances. Even though the built-in refrigerator didnt work from the time they installed it they would not replace it until they tried to repair it! So we basically went without a refrigerator for 2 months because it was not repairable and had to order a new one! The microwave went out a month after the warranty expired. Thermador did agree to honor the warranty. Repairman had to order part which took 6 wks. I was out of town when he came to repair. My son was home. When I returned I noticed dark spots & small dents on the front. After trying to clean spots off with no luck, I asked my son if he saw him work on the microwave and if he was rough with it to cause the damage. My son said he brought another microwave in. I called Thermador. After giving the serial # I was informed the unit was a 2008 model. My oven was a 2011. They asked for pictures of damage which was sent. No one from Thermador came to look or call me about complaint. I get a call saying the claim was closed because from the pictures I sent they couldnt see the damage. I asked about the fact that I got a used 2008 damaged unit. They said it was brand new! I told them that was fine but I would be warning others! Finally the Thermador rep called & asked what I wanted. I said, My microwave back and fixed. They did replace it with a new one. However exactly a year later the clock has stopped working which is what quit before the entire unit quit. Soooo, 2 weeks ago our gas oven quit working! I told my husband I refuse to call any of Thermadors licensed repairman and to just rip it out & go buy a Kenmore!!! He got online and chatted with someone that told him what could be the problem & how to repair himself. Ordered the part and tore the oven apart & fixed it himself!

I purchased a Thermador gas range years ago for $5,000.00 new. Since I purchased it has broken down at least 8 times. It was replaced new one 1 year after purchase because they could not fix it. The new one has broken down several times since replacement. The stove portion will not light. Thermador service fixed it recently, it lasted one day. Thermador service is the worst repair service out there. They do not care about their clients. They are rude. This range is a piece of crap. DONT BUY THERMADOR.

I remodeled my kitchen in July 2015. I was so excited when my Thermador Range arrived and was put into place. My daughter and I couldnt wait to use it! She started by baking cookies. She is an amazing baker. The cookies she baked in the Thermador came out very different. They were done on the outside and raw on the inside. Same thing every time she baked after that. She really thought she was losing her touch. Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I had 8 people coming for dinner. I couldnt wait to show off my new range! I put the Turkey in the oven at 11:30 on 325. At 5:30 it looked done on the outside but was raw on the inside. It was thoroughly thawed when I put it in the oven. As a matter of fact everything took twice as long to cook as it should have. After everyone went home and I was cleaning the kitchen I decided to put the self cleaning on. About 20 minutes later there was a big crash and shattered glass all over my kitchen floor!! The interior glass exploded!! I was so scared and in such shock! I started researching and realized there are so many problems with Thermador! I dont want to fix it. I just want it out of my house. I contacted an attorney and Im hoping I can give it back. I called the appliance place I bought it from and asked them to take it back. I told customer service I would purchase a Wolf and pay the difference. She laughed and said What are we supposed to do with the Thermador? Why Thermador is still in business I dont understand! I will never make a big purchase again without seeing the reviews first. I hope this saves someone else from making the big mistake I did.

It happens twice a day for about 30 minutes and there is one click about every 5 minutes, seems like it is coming from the bottom. Had a repairman to the house, said everything is fine and I cant diagnose it since I dont hear it and of course it happened again the second he left. I dont care but my dog freaks out every time this happens. Anyone out there have any clue what this could be and how to stop it? No warning lights or error messages at all. Thanks!

Bought the dual fuel range ($15,000), column fridge, column wine fridge and d/w in fall 2016. Oven failed for our first Thanksgiving AND this Thanksgiving. Seriously?! ?Bought a countertop turkey roaster (thank you, Costco!) that saved our holiday. Have had SEVEN service calls - our THIRD defective computer board is being replaced this morning. Hinges replaced on main oven in June. Angry does not begin to articulate my feelings about this sham company. The last customer service rep was beyond rude - after holding 15 minutes to reach the rep and explaining our unacceptable situation, the rep said, I dont know what you want. What I want is a $15,000 oven that is one year old to freaking WORK!! Do not waste your $$ on these appliances. Buy good looking cheaper ones and replace as needed. And dont forget to buy a turkey roaster! They are still on sale at Costco!

When I tried to have that fixed, the technician said Thermador no longer makes that part. This product is 15 years old. In 1993 a 30 dual fuel RDSS30 was installed in a custom home. We bought the house in 1998. Within 2 years the front panel would start to blink. This turned into the panel shutting down. We were told back then that we could not get the computer panel. My husband just happened to find a floor model of the same stove so we purchased another RDSS30 not realizing this was a chronic problem with Thermador. Within a year the computer panel would start blinking then the oven would just randomly shut off. We never even used the self clean feature being afraid the extra heat would make it worse. Now it is to the point where the number are so dim you cannot see them unless you are in the dark. The oven will not heat beyond around 300. It shuts off without warning. How can a 5 year old $5000 stove not be able to be fixed? There are outside companies that offer the service to rebuild the boards. So why cant Thermador? I will tell you why. They do not give a damn.

DO NOT BUY THERMADOR PRODUCTS!!! I bought my expensive double oven, cost $8000, 9 years ago. I have had over 18 appointments to repair it. It has cost me thousands. The electronic panel is right under the burners. Moisture constantly seeps in and shorts it out. Electronic panels cost $1100. I had to pay to have this done 3 times! Eventually I had to have a metal part designed at a sheet metal shop in Fullerton, installed to deflect the moisture and to lift it up off the bottom. I havent had a problem since. Went to clean the glass inside the oven and it shattered. I called and they said I had to buy a whole new door at a cost of $1100! Are you kidding me? I HATE MY OVEN! Now I am having NOTHING but problems with my expensive refrigerator! I have spent thousands on it as well. The list is endless: compressor out twice, heater once, ice maker three times. Rubber seal twice, it goes on and on!!! NO one cares at the customer service desk. NIGHTMARE!!!

We are in the middle of installing a new kitchen with all new Thermador appliances. We bought Miele for the dishwasher instead of the free Thermador. At this point, we wish we went all Miele for everything and here is why. Nothing has been used yet since we are awaiting countertops and water but we have electricity to the appliances. Right out of the box, one of the Thermador ovens has a defective main circuit board. The drawer microwave has a defective control panel. What is Thermadors response? Call a repair shop. Which we did, waited a week, tech shows up and yup its defective. Now we are waiting 4 weeks for the parts and then a week later, maybe they will repair our brand-new, never used, just installed Thermador appliances.Thermador is a brand name owned and managed by the same folks that make Bosch which is sold at Home Depot, etc. Thermador has splashy ads in high-end magazines, etc. but it is all hype. The product quality and service is abysmal. We were flabbergasted that Thermador would not let our kitchen designer/dealer replace the defective units. If you are considering premium appliances we would recommend Miele. Check out the information online before you buy. Miele is a private, family-owned company that is uncompromising in their focus on quality. They cost more than Thermador but they are worth it. We have three Miele dishwashers at other properties. Previously, we had a Thermador cooktop downdraft that the blower motor died after two years.

I too have a Thermador hood range PSE36US which we purchased in 2005. I also spent an additional $650 for the powerful blower to go along with the hood. I bought this product, thinking I was making a permanent purchase to install into my custom kitchen. I was sadly wrong. The buttons quit working for the lights along with some of the speed buttons for the fan. Then the housing that contained the circuit board with the buttons broke. The local appliance parts store I use told me that Thermador was the absolute worst company for parts, and in many cases, he refuses to deal with them because of their customer service. After some ordeal, I finally got to order both of these items. The circuit board was shipped and the housing is on backorder. Its going on three months, and all I can get is that the part is on backorder with no due date for the housing. I even wrote to the headquarters company in France with no response. Im going to have to somehow jerry rig the housing in order to close the filtering area. My advice to potential purchasers is to do your homework and research the company you are about to do business with. This will, no doubt, be the last Thermador product I will ever own. Dont be fooled by how pretty the product looks if you want something that can last. Its all about longevity, repair and service.

Weve owned our oven for over 10 years. Ive loved using this Thermador oven. Two years ago, the oven would beep continuously after its turned off. The only way to sop it was to literally pull the electric switch to the oven on the outside of the house. Weve had many repairs... new control panel, oven hinges, new seals, more tech repair visits, you name it. Nothing has stopped this beeping. Evidentially, the oven heats up and hit the panel sensors somehow and the beeping begins! Im frustrated and disappointed in Thermador. Customer service acts as though Im the only person this is happening to. Shame on them! As much as I loved this ovens capabilities, I have to say that Ill never purchase a Thermador again!

I purchased a 30 Stainless Steel Thermador Range Hood HSB30BS in June of 20
I purchased a 30 Stainless Steel Thermador Range Hood HSB30BS in June of 2008. Within a year and a half and six months out of warranty, the buttons that control the fan and the light began to come off. They are push buttons and are configured in such a way that when you press one to change the fan speed, another will be pushed out and deactivated - similar to an old style car radio with mechanical buttons. The problem is that the sub-assembly that receives the metal buttons is a square plastic peg and the button itself on the inside is round. The proverbial square peg in a round hole. The plastic gets worn and the buttons shoot off when they are pushed. I asked for the repairman to leave the sub-assembly with me after the repair ($350.00) to see exactly what went wrong. The hood cost me $700.00 new. So now that it is broken again, it does not make sense making the same repair again with a poorly designed part. I contacted Thermador the first time it broke and the best they could offer me was 10% off of the cost of the replacement part. I was busy at the time and was not able to write a proper letter to someone at Thermador, but I have to wonder if the results would have been much different. I have a Thermador stove as well that had a cooling fan motor ($300.00) repair just a little over a year and half after purchase. This one was out of warranty too. The stove cost $3,700.00. So I am, for obvious reasons, not a great fan of Thermador. I had two other repair calls on the stove to deal with a faulty ignitor, but they were thankfully covered by the initial warranty. I have never been a complainer, but it is hard for me to believe that I have just had bad luck with this companys products. I am a contractor by trade and like some of BSHs products. Bosch makes good tools and others that are not so good. At a certain price point though, my expectations go way up. Thermador looks nice and thats about the only nice thing I can say.

We remodeled 12 years ago. Purchased a Thermador cook top which has only had one issue, the igniter. Easy fix, my husband did it himself. The Thermador 30 inch double oven has had the control panel replaced twice. Once in the first few months, and again 2 years later. It was a hassle getting Thermadors attention. Their authorized repair dealer took a long time to get the parts, both times it took many trips to fix the panel properly. The repair guy showed up with either the new part not working or the incorrect part. The door has always been a problem since the first year we purchased it. Didnt pursue the door problem because frankly, Thermador is a big hassle to deal with. After internet searching on how to repair the ourselves, I see that we were not alone with this door and panel issue. As a side note, we have friends that purchased the same oven; and they have had the control panel go out many times as well! Its too bad Thermador is not held to a higher standard of quality for their expensive high-end products. The consumer is left with practically no recourse with a short time frame on the return policy, installation expense, only a 1 year warranty, in-addition its very difficult to rip an appliance out to return it.

We remodeled our home of twenty-plus years and bought a 30 Thermador Pro Harmony gas range. One of the first times we used the oven we accidentally spilled some liquid on the front of it with the oven door open - it shorted out a circuit board that should have been protected. This was fixed very quickly under warranty and had no further problems with it.Sold that house and bought another that needed a whole new kitchen. Bought a 36 Thermador Pro Harmony range and love it, no problems at all so far 1.5 years later. Along with that got the free dishwasher, Thermador though its made by Bosch, works beautifully, quiet. Also have the 36 Thermador French Door, bottom freezer refrigerator with NO in-door water or ice to keep things simple. Its gorgeous, with brilliant LED lighting and lots of storage. With it came the free range hood that is strong and has good lighting, easy to clean grease filters. To finish things off we purchased the Thermador drawer microwave which we were a little leery of, but have grown to love it. No more awkward reaching into a wall-mounted unit, we pluck everything out of the drawer! No turn-table but do not miss it.The 36 range has very flush grates making it easy to move pots around. The burners are very strong with great low simmer capabilities. The oven works well with roller bearing glides on the racks making them a breeze to pull in and out, even with the Thanksgiving turkey. Would definitely recommend Thermador to anyone, given our experience.

We purchased a Thermador double oven and had it installed the day after Thanksgiving. Seemed ok for the first few weeks but then the bottom oven stopped working. Reset the circuit breaker and the bottom oven turned back on. Went to rotisserie a prime rib on Christmas Eve, rotisserie wouldn’t turn. Ended up using the roast option. Called the appliance store where we bought the oven and Thermador to get a technician to come out. While waiting on parts the upper steamer oven stopped working completely. Resetting the circuit breaker didn’t help. We finally got the bottom oven fixed a couple weeks ago but the technician didn’t know anything about the upper oven problem. We purchased a Thermador Pro Harmony 36 range in 2010 and have been disappointed with it ever since. It was purchased as part of a kitchen remodel package and all 3 Thermador appliances purchased have been replaced over the 7 years we had them, except our oven which only performs sporadically. The griddle stopped working after a year, the circuit board has been replaced, the burner ignitors have been replaced, the broiler function no longer works and the oven door hinges no longer work to keep the door shut. We literally have to push a stool up against the door when we use the oven to keep the door closed. Thermador says they no longer make hinges since the oven is discontinued. And, they couldnt even provide me the name of a parts company to order new hinges. Apparently the hinges are no longer available, anywhere! They are worthless! DO NOT BUY THERMADOR!

I purchased a complete set of Thermador appliances, double oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and refrigerator three years ago for my kitchen remodel. Every appliance has stopped working at least once. This Thanksgiving 2011, while cooking dinner for 25 family members, the ovens went out again. The oven and refrigerator has quit three times. They were repaired once under warranty and I have paid over 1600.00 for the other repairs. This stuff is junk. Many functions for the fridge and love the stainless steel. Has nice drawers that are interchangeable and a new modern design. Have purchased and would recommend to anyone looking for a new fridge. The refrigerator has a nice variety of settings to adjust the temperature. It also runs excellent and make lettuce and meats always stay crisp. The refrigerator has beautiful stainless steel door with a movable compartments so you can put a cake in there. The amount of room really helps because I can pack a fridge. Made it easier to have a lot of more storage and flexible cooling settings. Ever since my old refrigerator, Ive been looking to replace it since the late 90s. My old one was horribly outdated and didnt seem to hold my valuable food anymore. Purchasing this new one has changed my life for me and my family. This product was so high quality my aunt went and purchased one from one of the retailers. Amazing drawer spaces and high end LED lighting along with French doors. Perfect for my huge home gatherings and keeps beer cold.

Based on our experience, changing the one-year warranty to five years would be the only way we would recommend Thermador. You will read in my post what was under the one-year warranty, which is not sufficient. We purchased a refrigerator, stove and vent hood, dishwasher, under the counter double drawer refrigerator, and double drawer refrigerator top/freezer bottom, all purchased between 2017 - 2019. The vent hood motor, installed in 2017, has been replaced twice—one under warranty and one we just bought last week (11/2020) for $400++. The refrigerator replacement parts are drawer rollers, freezer drawer latch (not warrantied), and icemaker sensor was replaced under warranty. The double drawer refrigerator/freezer ice maker was not working when delivered in September of 2019, replaced under warranty. Currently, the dishwasher has a high pitch sound when you start it and only runs on the auto setting. All other wash settings do not run. Due to COVID, income loss, and out of warranty, we havent addressed this issue. Vent hood labels have all worn off, and if liquid splatters on the stovetop while cooking, mostly burn on the surface. Yes, a removable cover would be great, as mentioned in another post. How about one for the oven? Remember, all issues happen between 2017 and 2020; three years!

Yes, its been 12 years, but, for what we paid for this oven, to have the horrible response from Thermador. And, to have a piece of scrap metal after paying $480 in repairs...well, just unthinkable. Customer service was dismissive, at best. Condescending at worst. My story begins. Purchased 12 years ago, several repairs along the way, but she was well used. Then, about 4 years ago, the self cleaning went. I had only used it twice, so it was not worth putting up with or paying for repairs (which are quite expensive and require a Thermador Tech to come out). No error code, it just wouldnt work. Then, the broiler started to give me trouble. All of a sudden, we had the power go out and BOOM! We have no oven with 1 error code indicating the main circuit board is out. While the board was $250 -ish, with the service calls and labor, the cost was about $480. Which, I would have been fine with, if the oven worked. The tech put the oven on, it went on, went to about 275, and he determined it was fixed. That evening, in preparation of dinner, I turned the oven on and it would not go beyond 325 before shutting down. I called back. We are on service call 3 at this point. He cant figure out the problem, maybe a faulty circuit board, he will have to contact Thermador and get back with me. Service call 4. Wow, big problem, it is NOW the blow motor. And, they no longer manufacture Blow Motors for this model. (Used to be a $100-ish part, pretty inexpensive). Well, sorry, but the main circuit board is not refundable, basically, ** you. I called Thermador, initially, to ask about the Blow Motor.I was told, Well, these arent like automobiles where we manufacture parts forever. My response, Well, you charged me as much as my first automobile, so I would think there should be an alternative. Sorry, check online, see if anyone has old parts...basically, ** you. So, I begin the search for a new oven, and yes, I have EXCLUDED Thermador from my search. I begin to think, how do I verify the tech didnt break this blow motor in his install? I do not think I should have paid for this repair if that is the case. Or, did he misdiagnose and there were 2 issues he should have seen, basically saving me the payment on the board. So, I call Thermador again, to verify if there are multiple issues, should I have seen multiple error codes? Seems like a reasonable question. Well, customer service cant answer this. Only a technician can. Ok, transfer me to a technician, please. Well, they are on the road. Well, can I leave a message. Well, no. Well, can someone else answer this? Well, of course not. But, I will be happy to get you another outside technician to come in. But, you see, I know the error code, I know the part is not available, why would I pay for ANOTHER visit to tell me my oven is a 400# piece of trash? Maybe I should be happy I had 12 years of reasonable happiness with her, but, I would hope that when you pay this much for an appliance the Co would stand behind her. Well, just to let you know, that will only last for a few years, until they stop manufacturing parts for it.

However per recipe, 350 degrees 11-15 minutes resulting in pale underbaked cookies over 30 minutes later. He documented the facts but after 10 days, I havent heard a word... Weve had range 4 months and still problematic! Thermador Rep doesnt want to believe anything is wrong with range even after witnessing failure to bake... with all my written documentation and ruined food. We have repeated failures of the blower motors on our oven. If the oven senses that either fan isnt spinning at nominal speed, the oven shuts down. Its a $500 bill every time one of the motors goes out ($300 service plus $200 for the part). The first went out barely a year after we bought the oven. The next went out later the same year. Barely a year later and one of the replacements is failing. Replacing the fan involves pulling the oven from the wall, no easy feat for the do-it-yourselfer.Note that sometimes a reset will work, at least temporarily. Thermador doesnt make the reset easy. You have to cut off power at the circuit breakers, turn power back on, then do the programming for date and time. Very frustrating if you have to do this several times hoping that fan will spin a bit faster on the next go around.

My 2-year-old $2,700 glass Thermador cooktop has begun to look like an old wall mirror. The black continues to spread and mar the meticulously maintained surface. It was not an easy decision to buy such an expensive appliance, but I had just remodeled my kitchen and love to cook; so, I splurged. Big mistake with Thermador. It was a process of over a month with continued correspondence. Finally, they agreed to replace the glass, but not to pay for the installation. How absurd! It was no fault of mine that they produced a defective cooktop. I already paid to have it installed when I purchased it! I guess I am keeping my fingers crossed that this one will not need to be replaced and installed again in another two years; furthermore, it took over a month to convince them to at least pay for the glass.I also purchased two Wolf ovens and a Liebherr refrigerator. I had problems with both of them as well, but unlike Thermador, their customer service departments were amazing. The warranties were out of coverage as well, but they stood behind their name and all was immediately replaced and installed at no charge! Stay away from Thermador!!!

We built a new home and Thermador MADE us upgrade to the newer model because they sold the one we bought. THAT said, our freezer broke 2 years later. After multiple attempts to repair with a local third party repair company, Thermador admitted they CANT fix our freezer. As you can imagine they will NOT replace ours free of charge and want to charge us money for a new one. We have been trying to get this fixed or replaced for over 6 months and they will NOT help us. They will NOT do what they say and they will not email or call us back as they have promised over the last 8 phone calls. Each time I call I sit on the phone for at least 30-50 min before getting through and getting NOwhere with them. This is an awful company with awful service and products. DO NOT BUY their products. It is the worst service I have ever had by a luxury company. what a waste of money and time.

The oven stopped heating and the repair company said we need a new control board. Guess what, Thermador no longer makes the part so the oven needs to be replaced. After talking Thermador customer support guy, I was told that I need to replace the three piece combo even the microwave and warmer are still working. Can you imagine the quality and service they provide for such a high end appliance? My old oven kept working for 30 years. They just assuming we can throw everything out and get new ones every few years? I just dont trust them. Does anyone on this board have gone through similar ordeal? Is it possible to only replace the broken oven? It seems to me these have separate controls and why we have to replace all of them when just one thing breaks. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion.

I have a double wall oven (SCD302ZS) that is a piece of junk. I bought this thing brand new and paid a substantial amount for it. We have nothing but problems; the control panel has been replaced three times (at $300 per panel) and it still doesnt work. You cant read the numbers on it (i.e., the clock, the temperature). If you set the panel flush on the wall like its supposed to be, it doesnt work so you have to leave the panel hanging off the wall about 1/4 in order for the buttons to work. The elements have been replaced once, but the bottom oven still wont work. Today, the convection fan and light will come on in both the upper and bottom ovens but it wont heat up. Piece of junk! Dont bother calling Thermador, they will do nothing. We fought with them over the control panels, wrote letters to the headquarters and got nowhere. They dont care. Do not buy Thermador. I have one more brand new control panel for this piece of junk. If anyone is interested in buying it, Ill sell it for less than it cost me.

Im on my 3rd Thermador full package in my 3rd house. Same pkg 3 times w/ some upgrades: Pro Harmony range, Pro fridge, Top of the line Sapphire dishwasher, microwave drawer, hood. $25k+. The 1st pkg was good. The 2nd pkg had issues w/ the range. Spark units were intermittently working. Repaired, worked fine. Dishwasher recalled electrical shocks or leaks. Dont remember. Microwave/dishwasher made by Bosch worked well. Now 3rd pkg. Fridge auto door assist mostly doesnt work. Replaced parts-still doesnt work. Gave up. The range is THE WORST! Ive had 12 repair calls.. 4 of 6 burners are blasting like blow torches since day 1. Theyre super loud. The repairman said tech support told him Its supposed to be like that. I appealed because my last one didnt do that. Thermador told me to convince the boss to help even tho she agreed that theres something wrong with it. This is ridiculous! After replacing almost every part in the range w/ 12 service calls. Countless phone calls! 4 burners still blast like blowtorches. I memorized the model # PRG366, $6300. Replaced regulator twice. Gas company checked pressure twice. I need a replacement, but Thermador isnt helping. The PRG366 at my last house on the same street didnt do this.

Thermador Dual Supply Range - PD484GGEBS-4 burnerOur Thermador Oven stopped working (oven) due to what they called a control board short issue. Thermador has no record for this issue and we were routed to a local repair (Gourmet Appliances). This was after 4 years of use. The control board materials to replace it was about $800 and installation just over $1000.Now after 5 years after a normal cleaning mode, the oven switched to automatically release the door after cleaning and was stuck. We are really concerned over the quality of this product; a professional series product. I have saved the original control board if you wish to pursue. I also urge action against Thermador for their quality problems and lack of quality service.

I was saddened when I finally went to look at the reviews on Thermador; THE REVIEWS ON ALL PRODUCTS ARE ALL POOR. DO NOT BUY ANY THERMADOR PRODUCT, YOU WILL REGRET IT. I bought a dual fuel range Model #PRD486EDHU/01 with a dishwasher. I could go on for some time about the many shortcomings of this equipment, here is the short list: expensive electronics are UNDER THE BURNERS, WHERE SPILLS LEAK ONTO, then it takes weeks and $1000s to repair. When one part fails, the whole system is out of commission. There are blowers that blow a strong stream of air away from the front of the stove. This blows all the smoke from inside the ovens out into the room where it cannot be removed by the hood. The Burner design extremely difficult to clean up spills.

Buy any other brand other than Thermador for refrigeration! Fortunately we only purchased the under counter drawers but 2 motherboards have been replaced and it still is pinging 3 times every time the compressor goes on. First problem- the drawers just stopped cooling - first motherboard replacement after 4 months of waiting for them. Second problem- the pinging that happens when you accidentally leave the doors ajar, once it went off, it would not stop even though closed. Motherboard #2 replaced and the control panel after 3 weeks of waiting. Repair guy left, and now it is still pinging 3 times when the compressor goes on. What a friggin nightmare for $6000 bucks. Should have bought a sub zero or any other brand. This thing is a lemon, and going out of warranty soon- would never buy a Thermador again! A company that does not understand how to do refrigeration has no business selling them.

Thermador Oven ME ll0: I just ruined an expensive coffee cake that I was making for company that is arriving tomorrow. After increasing the temperature by 25 degree and baking an extra 15 minutes, it appeared to be done by testing with a toothpick. After wanting 10 minutes to turn the cake out the middle was raw. We purchased the oven October 2014 and experienced problems with the temperature. The service man came out in November and replaced the motherboard but this did not fix the problem. It is sad to say that if I could afford a new oven, this oven would be the trash tomorrow. We owned a Thermador Oven from 2005 until we moved in 2013 and it was a wonderful oven. Not so with this one and will advising everyone I know not to buy any Thermador appliances.

The equipment didnt work since installation and was told I have to wait 3-4 weeks for a replacement to get to Puerto Rico from Miami. I called yesterday for an update and was told the replacement will travel from Germany to Miami, and then Miami to Puerto Rico. Who knows how long this will take?! I build my kitchen around Thermador appliances... I received my range in December. It kept turning off after 10 min could not use self clean etc. Tech came out to fix...but after coming 3 times with no success my place of purchase decided to replace the whole range. I received a new 60 inch range 2017 model. They dropped it off without installing the unit...so I had someone come who I paid to do install. After install I was getting a cooling fan error. I had tech come again and he arrived after his second visit. He arrived with wrong part. A week later arrived again with wrong part...then called to say he would have to come back because he wasnt able to move unit by himself. Now another appointment a week later. He arrived with a pump to lift oven but wasnt strong enough to lift it...so lucky I was there. I helped him move the oven to install cooling fan. While oven was out I asked if he can pls raise the legs in the back about an inch so unit can be flush with tile. His response was its not my job. After all this and to say its not my job was very annoying...so now he installs fan but Im still receiving same error. I called again. They are sending same the same guy out with a helper. The day of repairs I get a call saying his helper could not get out of his driveway due to snow...really...but I was able to leave house with the same area snow. Now its end of March still no oven. 4 months without an oven to use and taking my wifes taken 10 days off work for them to come and fix. Horrible service. People whatever you do stay away from Thermador. Im am now going to place of purchase and asking them to remove all Thermador stuff from my home. I will be buying Wolf and Sub-Zero. Not sure of the issues I will be having if any with them but it cant be worse than Thermador...worst customer service I have ever come across. Also I paid like 20k for this range. My old oven I believe was a Miele. Ive had for 15 years without an issue. All I can say is stay far away.

The product works well and provides what I need to feed my family. That is what I need in equipment. Good price and works wonders. Appearance is great. Looks strong and sturdy and I like the modern look that it provides my kitchen. Makes it stand out more than the past stove I had in there. Fits in the little spot where my stove goes, not too big nor too small in size. Perfect oven size for what I need to cook in there also.

Since installing my new kitchen two months ago with the Thermador package of appliances I have had TWO major problems.1. After having the appliance taken out of the box and install (plugging in) my refrigerator, neither the fridge or freezer got colder than 70 degrees. I called Thermador and they walked me through steps to resolve the problem but to no avail. Thermador proceeded to refer me to two contracted repair services on Oahu. In the meantime I called the Authorized distributor (Servco Appliance Company) and informed them of the problem. They were able to expedite the service (and that was a week later). The service people came out and pushed the same buttons as well as read the manual, coming to the conclusion that my refrigerator was not working and would have to order parts...not having any idea what part! The next morning I got a call from the service company and was told the same thing and was told they would have the parts expedited and it would take 5 days to come in. In the meantime I called Servco and demanded that they get me a new (in the box) refrigerator. FIVE weeks later while waiting for my New refrigerator I received a call from ACE Appliance repair service saying they had just received the parts. I told them to forget it and contacted Servco for and update on my new refrigerator. Eight weeks after the service call, I finally got my new appliance. Now I have noticed a condensation problem on the side of the freezer door.2. Two and one half weeks ago my newly purchased Thermador built in oven stopped working. Error code E118. I must have used the oven 6 times since installing it, the same time as the original frig. I called Thermador again and was walked through the reset procedure (turn the 220 breaker switch off for 5 minutes then turn back on). This had no effect on the problem... it took 10 days to get a service man out here. Again we went through the whole thing again. He called Thermador and he was told E1108 meant a problem with the fan and it had to be replaced. I new that even before he walked in the door. Just google it!!!!!! I am told that NO PARTS are stocked in Hawaii and at a minimum it will take another 2 weeks before he comes out again....That is over a month without an oven and the clock is ticking on the warranty. I would not recommend this brand as they have no credibility.

When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, we purchased all new appliances from the Thermador/Bosch... We have really enjoyed the big fridge, the oven and microwave...the dishwasher has typical Bosch problems, including a sticking soap dispenser door and fast build up of clogging in the arms...but, its really quiet and great when its working properly. The glass cooktop blew its control module, and took some time and expense to have Thermador fix it... They brought the wrong replacement unit first, and only got the right one when we pointed out their errors and pointed them to the correct unit... It cost about half the price of the unit to fix...so, not so good on repairs. Overall, the appliances are lovely, quite pricey, and not nearly so reliable as one would like.

Bought all products (wall oven, range, refrigerator) from Best Buy. Sale items packaged together. Biggest mistake of my life. Fridge did not work from get go. Got no response from either company until I hit their web pages and blasted them. Now, less than four years later, ice maker does not work. Over $500 to fix with a one year warranty. I do not need $500 worth of ice for one year. Wall oven: less than four years old. Close to $600 to replace heating board, again with only one year warranty. Range: sold to me not explaining it was for a center island. Didnt work. Shut down completely when turned on. Had to pull away from wall to get it to work. Ive seen several complaints similar to mine with products from Best Buy. I think we should start a class action lawsuit.

Thermador -Unless you enjoying seeing F-34 codes on the panel, do not buy! Their products are suppose to be a higher end brand of appliances and the cost goes right along with that. I have a Thermador built in double wall oven. I cannot tell you how many control panels I have had replaced at $486 each plus labor! Tack on the relay and touch panel replacements, Ive clearly spent more on the repairs than the outrageously priced oven. I had an authorized Thermador service company here. After following the advice of THERMADOR tech. (who was on speaker phone,) they decided to replace the control panel. That was done but it did not fix the problem. So now trying a display panel BUT once an electronic part is opened it cannot be returned. So $486 down the drain. When panel was connected something happened with electric and everything went out. Now they say I need relay, control and display! NO THANK YOU!!I have never written a negative comment on any appliance before and probably would not have bothered with this, but the poor customer service was worse than the actual horrible oven. When I called customer service, I can tell that she was not interested in what I had to say. All service call copies were emailed to the email address given with a case number she gave me. I followed up 3 days later and of course they said customer service gave me the wrong email address. Back to square 1. No working oven, in the middle of a pandemic with a family of 6 and only a cooktop and microwave. Thank goodness my cooktop is a Viking. Never had a service call on it. I am purchasing a new wall oven. I would love to drop this off at Thermadors doorstep. Purchasing a new oven. Needless to say it will not be a Thermador.

I don’t think I have ever written a review until now. I am just heartbroken. We spent $30k on a Thermador appliance package two years ago and have had so many issues! I am an avid cook and baker and also teach cooking classes in my home kitchen. I was so excited to install these gorgeous appliances into my kitchen even though it was a huge sacrifice for our budget. We bought the 4 burner with electric griddle cooktop, the built-in fridge and freezer, the double ovens, dishwasher and range hood. Our kitchen is gorgeous but that’s where the excitement stops. We have had multiple repairman to our house to try and fix our appliances with no results. Our burners on the cooktop don’t get very hot so it takes over 20 minutes to boil a pot of water. I can not can or even sear meat on on my stovetop which is a huge letdown. I have had two repairman and the gas company all out to look at it and they are perplexed and say there is nothing wrong with the installation or the gas line, that’s just how the stove cooks. Meanwhile our crazy expensive freezer has stopped producing ice and water and is leaking from somewhere and completely ruining our hardwood floors we installed during our remodel. They are built-in so you can’t just pull them out and find the problem, you have to wait for a professional. I live near a big city and there are only 2 repair places in our area. We have been waiting for over a month and the problem is still not fixed. The part is on backorder so meanwhile, our floor continues to warp and is now sleeping into our cabinetry. I just want to cry. I had such high expectations for these beautiful appliances and to say we have been “let down” is a complete understatement. Please spare yourself the frustration and disappointment and look elsewhere for your professional appliances.

We have a Duel Fuel Thermador range. We bought it about 4 years ago. But due to construction, we have only been using it for a little over three years. At a minimum, we have replaced two circuit boards, two fan motors in the hood and most recently the boiler coil has caught on fire and appears to have partially melted. My three-year old was standing next to the oven. If I had not been in the kitchen to turn it off and pulled her away, it could have been a disaster. My husband and I had been planning on renovating our kitchen for three years before beginning construction. We finally made the big move and gutted from floor to ceiling redoing lighting, flooring, sheetrock, every part of the kitchen. We chose Thermador appliances after visiting many appliance stores and talking to friends that have Thermador. Also, when you are purchasing all new appliances the appliance package is hard to pass up. We debated on getting Sub Zero/Wolf because it was only $3,000 more but in the end decided on Thermador 2018 Freedom Refrigerator and Freezer much to our dismay. We got our refrigerator first because both were on back order. Within the first 24 hours our refrigerator lights were not working properly and the unit switched off and on. We had to contact a repair person within the first day of having it. They replaced the main board at this time. We then finally received our freezer and again issues. Both appliances (2018 Freedom Refrigerator and Freezer) completely quit working within the first week. We are beyond frustrated and disappointed. The customer service at Thermador is terrible!!! I am wondering if anyone is having these issues and for anyone considering new appliances dont buy Thermador!!

Our 7 year old built in fridge stopped keeping its temperature. Customer service was nonexistent, they refused to provide a contact person and various agents kept asking for the same documents for over a month and a half (which were provided on day 1 with a confirmation of receipt) and not addressing our file. When we got tired of sending the same documents repetitively and getting the run around, we got angry and pushed for an answer. They offered us an insulting discount on the new model of our fridge. As with others, we spent a lot of money on this over/under oven. Looks nice but the internal design is awful. Its been 4 years now and we have had to replace the control boards 3 times already... and it died again a week ago. There is NO support for Thermador appliances in the Dallas area. Parts cost as much as the original unit almost if you can find them. I have replaced the faulty boards 3 times so far, but Im too tired to deal with this anymore. The analog & digital boards run about $600... 3 sets are enough for a new oven. Its a giant rip-off. Where is the quality design & service... missing totally. It’s a horrible oven and the worst customer service - poor controls, unreliable and poor response from customer service. The bottom line: no, I would not recommend this to a friend. This Thermador ME301E[S] wall oven is the bane of our lives. The interface panel had been replaced and still the oven did not work. The call to the Thermador supervisor took a week to get back to me. They would not take the $250.00 memory panel back even though that was not the cause of the self-clean operation as suggested by their authorized repair person. Thermador Double Oven C302US - Re-did the kitchen about 10 years ago with high end appliances. The Thermador Double Oven had been giving beeping sounds the past year, but now a F24 error comes on and the touch panel stops working. Have to shut the breaker off to stop the beeping. Called Thermador for the part (Glass Touch Pad 00368774) and they said it is discontinued. Told to go search ebay. No one has it. An almost $4,000 oven is now useless.

We had our kitchen completely renovated in 2007. We installed a complete spectrum of Thermador products: Pro Grand Dual fuel range, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer and wall oven. This week, we will have our eighth repair visit. The range (4x) has been worst but the MW and the refrigerator have also failed. The failures have been the same as the other ones listed below, including the side oven heating element explosion. Do not buy Thermador. Interestingly, my detailed email complaint bounced back to me today as undeliverable, yet I got the regional managers name and address on the Thermador website an hour earlier.

Ive had nothing but bad luck with this thing. I’m so upset as my husband and I spent $$$ on renovating my kitchen (something I begged for many years). I purchased the entire Thermador kitchen since they were offering the deal of free dishwasher and hood. Now I know why they are giving this crap away. The dishwasher is broken and has been for about 1 month, service is terrible. Now I’m trying to bake Christmas cookies with my kids and Im ready to cry. Nothing is baking according to how it used to bake in my old oven. This thing is taking loads of extra time to bake a batch of cookies. Not to mention that my Thanksgiving turkey was totally dried out. This oven is an expensive piece of garbage that we are stuck with! Dont buy Thermador!

36 pro range dual fuel 6 burner stainless - In the last 4 years we had 2 very serious situations with regards to Thermador ovens. The first incident was in a former home of ours where we decided to use the self-clean mode which we have had a lot experience with other brands in how to use a self-clean mode. After about 25 minutes the glass exploded sending glass throughout our kitchen. Had we not been at home, the oven would have continued to operate with the high risk of a fire. We moved to a new condo which had another Thermador oven. We put the oven on to preheat and again after 25 minutes a fire started in our oven caused by the heat sensor incorrectly reading the temperature. Thermadors response to this leaves us with the impression that they dont care about issues with their ovens even if it means that a dangerous situation could occur.

We purchased the 36 professional range, with 4 burners and griddle in the middle, about 2 years ago and are fairly content. But the reason for the 2 stars is that for nearly $10,000 we should be completely satisfied. The light inside went out within about a year, weve had a few issues with the bake function (which Thermador took care of), but have also been dealing with a loud noise in the back for about a year.Upon looking at the back, up top, right inside the vent area, its apparent that the sheet metal they used wasnt installed flat. So basically theres a bulge that rattles, since it doesnt sit flush, and they used far too few rivets to secure it. For this amount of money it just doesnt seem right. Dont even get me started on the dishwasher, if you dont pre-clean dishes very very thoroughly, it will start giving you problems. My last GE dishwasher, which was just a few hundred dollars, ran like a champ without a problem - ever.

We bought a high-end double wall oven because my wife loves to bake. Within the first year, it started having problems and Thermador sent out multiple repairmen to fix it. All claimed it was fixed but the same problems returned. The door will not close and the motherboard is fried. This thing is a piece of garbage and any appliance store that sells it such as Spencers TV and Appliance should be questioned for having such garbage in their store.

We have a broken Wall unit (combo of microwave+oven+hot drawer) that is ~2.5 years old. We got the unit from Karls Appliances in Fairfield NJ and Wendy ** was the sales rep. We have had number of issues with several appliances that we ordered from Thermador. First, the double drawer fridge stopped working in 1.5 years or less and had to be completely replaced. Then, the second most expensive appliance of wall unit (combo of microwave+oven+hot drawer) developed a problem just a few months past 2 years of purchase. The microwave stopped working and started giving errors. We didn’t expect this kind of quality of appliances from Thermador. Thermador provides warranty for 2 years and having the appliances fail just a little more than 2 years makes their quality inferior compared to the other brands out there. We used Thermador website to call George appliances and the person they send had no clue about the error nor how to even handle the trim of the microwave. We ended up paying the service call but with nothing in return. On top of that, we got quoted by George’s appliance for $1000 just to fix the microwave. This is a complete rip off by Thermador and their registered appliance repair shops. Thermador quality of appliances has been suspect in the last few years that we have used their appliances and even after buying expensive products, their products fail just as soon as the warranty expire. I wouldn’t recommend buying from Thermador or Karls appliances and definitely not calling George appliances.

We built our custom home in 2007 which was completed January 2008. We were living in California and spent five months out of the year in our future retirement home in Washington State. In 2014 we sold everything in California and moved permanently to Washington. In 2014 and 2015 we spent nine months of the year in Washington and the rest traveling and in Portland. My control panel went out on my double Thermador oven three weeks ago. I contacted Thermador and requested that they give us a discount on our oven part as we were not here using it as we lived in California and were not retired yet. The management told us that it was too long since it was installed. This doesnt sit well with my husband and I at all. We have had Thermador products for the past 35 years with a double oven and single in California as well as a stove top. We WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. This oven cost almost $4,000. The appliance people who diagnosed the problem had a terrible time finding this part. This is not acceptable either. Thermador is not a company that we will recommend to anyone with the outcome of this problem. Their management SUCKS.

36 inch dual fuel range & dish washer - We have had our Thermador for two years and the oven has been out of service for four months to date and its out again! When we first tried to clean the oven, the heat burned up the circuit board. But that was not the first thing they tried and every part they need they have to order after a home visit, so the process took almost two months to resolve the first time. No oven for Thanksgiving and almost no oven for Christmas. Next time we cleaned the oven, poof, its broken again. Now, the warranty is out of date but it is the same problem! Now we fight through another battle. The oven was again eventually fixed and survived several cleanings but once again the oven is kaput after an attempt to use the cleaning cycle. There is also the story about the issues with the Thermador dishwasher sometimes running and sometimes not. Less painful than the oven but not what you would expect from new top of the line appliances. Never buy a Thermador appliance! I am sure you will do much better with any other manufacturer.
