I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer
I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer at the end of January 2019. The microwave did not work from installation. The repair man couldnt fix it after 2 months of working with him and Thermador. In the meantime, the repair man reinstalled the oven door poorly and it does not completely close. The warming drawer also does not heat evenly. After 2 plus months working with Thermador management, which never responds or finds resolution, and their certified repair companies, I am still without a microwave, oven and warming drawer that work properly.I have asked for my money back and they insist that I continually waste my time on the phone and at home waiting for someone to figure out how to repair the problem. I have a full time job and cannot spend endless days on trial and error. The management does not reach out to me with a better solution. I have to chase them. Each time there is a new person/manager with no follow up. When you pay that much money for quality, you would expect top notch products and customer service. Stay away from Thermador. You can find much better for a lesser price and better quality.

Built a new home 5 years ago and paid the price to install Thermador major appliances. The oven failed twice during warranty and was out of service about 10% of the first year of operation. Most recently the main circuit board in the refrigerator failed. The fridge is 5 years old and Thermador doesnt make or keep any spare parts. My options are to try to find someone who can rebuild the board or buy a new refrigerator. We are trying to get the board repaired by a free lance computer jock. Well see how that goes. Dont buy Thermador.

We bought a thermador 48 dual fuel oven 6 years ago. Every year we have had major problems and spent thousands repairing the oven to no avail. We have had the main board replaced twice, fan switches, heating elements, and a variety of other things. We have not been able to cook one holiday meal in the oven, we have had to resort to the BBQ and the toaster. It looks like this year is the same, code 43 is blinking which means I need to spend another 700$ on the oven. Thermador has been terrible to deal with, they really dont care. This time I am not spending the money to repair it. I am throwing this thing in the trash and getting a different brand. This is a terrible product made by a horrible company with third rate engineers and an insensitive work force. I can only hope that other good hardworking people dont spend their money on anything that comes from the thermador company.

We purchased a high end Thermador Dishwasher 3 years and 10 months ago. We had a Whirlpool dishwasher that lasted about 12 years, which we replaced with a nice KitchenAid that lasted about 7 years. We then decided to upgrade to a high end Dishwasher in December of 2015. We purchased a Thermador Stainless Steel Dishwasher because we were told it was a much higher quality machine than the Whirlpool or KitchenAid and it would outlast them all. It lasted only 3 years and 10 months before the heating coil quit working last week. Now it only washes with cold water and grease or butter stays on the silverware and plates. I called our local repair service and they said to contact Thermador because many companies will go ahead and cover repairs within a couple years of the warranty expiration. I called Thermador and they will not cover the repair diagnostic visit nor the parts if it is the heat coil, which is what the error code says that it is. I asked the representative to ask the supervisor again and he said we would have to pay for the first repair visit and he may consider covering 50% of the part ($54) only. I was shocked that the Thermador quit working only after 3 years 10 months of light use by only 2 people (1/3 of the time of the Whirlpool that had heavier use at that time) and then that Thermador wouldnt cover the complete repair even when asked nicely twice. I wanted to make sure others were aware and warned before they pay extra for a Thermador Dishwasher that may only last a couple years.

We bought this 36”, 6 burner stove new From a local appliance store. We have had multiple calls to have repairs made. 4 times for gas leaks, not a great experience, 4 different occasions. We have had to have two igniters replaced. I also had to have some control unit replaced after a pot boiled over and shorted out this element. That cost us $849. Now with the oven never heating to the desired temperature, and servicemen saying there is nothing they could do, the oven just won’t work at all. The parts to repair it are$2650 without the service call and installation. We paid over $5,000 for this piece of crap. After contacting Thermador, they offered me $ 200 off on parts. A range is suppose to turn on heat up and bake, cook as needed. What a waste of money and terrible customer service! Don’t buy one!

Thermador - This double oven has been used about 400 times. The upper oven has been used once. The oven fan is so loud you have to talk loudly above it. Good luck in an open kitchen like I have. My 2 friends have this oven and dont have the noise. Thermador told me (under warranty) when they came out that it was just loud. Too bad. They didnt do a thing. I never would have bought the oven. The display light has gone out now. No problem, just the electronic display board. $500.00 to fix an oven I hate. $100 for Thermador to come out, but you get 18 minutes. Hurray. Then $120 an hour. The board is $350 to see the temperature in your oven. Completely ridiculous for a consumer to buy an oven and have these issues. I would do anything to have my quiet, KitchenAid convection oven back! Complete monopoly in Los Angeles. There are no authorized repair folks, just Thermador. You are located on our turf, no other service options is what I was told.

I spent THOUSANDS on what Id expect to be high end appliances which included a column fridge/freezer/wine cooler, ovens, range and range hood. From day one when the installer came to install, parts were missing, for the freezer, the range hood had parts that were not correctly fabricated, the fridge had broken trays as well as a faulty motor which operates the push door for opening and closing. Contacted CS to explain and have them resolve. They sent a Tech out to verify the issues. He said the parts would to be ordered. This was in May and now we are in June and I still do not have these resolved. In my first follow up call, I was told the parts had arrived and I should be receiving a call from the Tech to schedule an appointment. A week late, no call so I called CS again and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I was told the part never came and he didnt know why I was told it had. He then proceeded to tell me the part is still on order and it may take another few weeks. In the meantime, one of the parts (fridge tray) had been in the Techs possession way back in June. I proceeded to ask if the Tech could come and install the tray but was told that it would cost Thermador an unnecessary expense and they would send the Tech out once the other parts are received. He made no attempts to accommodate nor had sympathy.Considering all the crap that I have experienced, and patiently, I expected far more service and accommodation than was given. I purchased high-end appliances at a high cost expecting top-rated service, but it has not been anywhere near that. Its one thing to have bad products but to have horrific service too!!! From the reviews Ive read on this site, it appears Im not alone.

I purchased a blower with a broken internal motor and Thermador is unwillin
I purchased a blower with a broken internal motor and Thermador is unwilling to address the problem in a logical manner that would reflect what one would expect from a premium brand. As part of a kitchen remodel, I chose a Thermador cooktop and hood insert. Their blower motor was faulty from the moment I first tried to use it to provide ventilation to my stove. This is mandatory functionality in my state, so it needs to be addressed. It took a while to diagnose it because thermador does not have enough techs in the San Francisco area. They finally (after months) diagnosed the problem as a faulty blower motor. I am still covered under the warranty period. The hood insert is inside a decorative hood. The custom hood was created prior to inserting the Thermador hood insert and blower so that the hood is easily removed and replaced, if needed. However, Thermadors techs are not comfortable with anything that is not standard. I was told by Thermador that I would need to hire an installer to remove the blower, so that their tech could then come and replace the blower motor specifically, and then I would need the installer to return in order to re-install the blower. Crazy! This results in my having to set aside 8-12 hours minimum across three separate days (because of service windows. Thermador alone has a 4-5 hour service window) AND having to pay 3 times what I would need to IF Thermador (a) could have done the whole job themselves OR (b) IF Thermador would have allowed the installer to do an a simple warranty exchange of the entire blower (as opposed to just the internal blower motor mechanism). I am using an installer who is authorized to do Thermador warranty exchanges. Thermador would rather their customer spend tons of money and time remedying a situation that they could have prevented with proper quality control processes than standing behind their product. I would expect much more from a premium brand. To me, this is not premium and I would recommend that others spend those premium dollars on true premium brands, such as Miele.

I can do more than one thing in it at different temperatures. With this I can cook a dinner for a lot of people in less time. After its easy to clean and does not take a lot of space. The value is good. With all that it does it is worth the price of it. I would buy it again if I need to get on. It looks good, it makes the kitchen look like its better. With the two side by side it does not take up a lot of room in the kitchen. The color goes with everything in it. It fits into small spaces which makes it easy to have a lot of other stuff in the kitchen also. With this I can add other stuff I want to have in the kitchen also.

Thermador CM302 - We loved this oven for 10 years, then it started beeping for no reason and shutting down. We replaced the control panel twice because it was overheating and burning out due to a design flaw in this oven. We figured out that the cooling fan controls were not programmed to stay on after the oven turned off so the hot oven was burning out the adjacent panel. We tried limping along for a few years by turning the oven on to 100 degrees with the cook timer set to turn off in two hours in order to help the oven cool. This worked for awhile until we needed to heat both ovens above 400 for Thanksgiving. The oven died completely with fifteen guests waiting for turkey. I give thanks that my BBQ wasnt made by Thermador, which has been extremely useless, not even willing to pay for a service call in the event that the repair person was unable to fix the oven. This is an irresponsible company. Once you are out of warranty they do not stand behind their appliances, even if the problem is a design flaw. We will be buying our next oven elsewhere.

We had a Thermador double oven in our old house, dont remember the model number, purchased in about 2000. About 4 years into ownership we began to get fault codes. Cycling the power would restore operation but the problem became more frequent. Thermador were non-responsive to be polite about it. Im an electronics hobbyist so I pulled the circuit boards out myself. I found that they used a significant number of electrolytic capacitors. These are heat sensitive devices with a specified lifetime. I checked and found that 80% of the electrolytic capacitors were at end of life, displaying either a high esr or low capacitance or both. I replaced the capacitors with higher temperature rated and higher quality ones at a total cost of $15. Problems solved and unit was working well when we sold the house about 5 years ago. The local appliance repair shop wanted north of $500 to visit and replace the boards, no prizes for guessing what I told them.We purchased, maybe regretfully, a new model double oven Thermador for our new house that we moved into 5 years ago. Yeah, I know doing the same thing and expecting different results etc. It is now Christmas Eve and the oven has had to be re-started twice so far. Hopefully it will hang on and produce Christmas dinner before totally crapping out. I will then get into the guts and Ill bet every Christmas cracker in the house that I find the same issue as the previous model.I will not even bother contacting Thermador. What gets my goat is that if Thermador were to install higher temperature rated and better quality capacitors in the first place then a ten year life would be likely achievable. The cost, with their bulk purchasing power, would be probably less than $5 per oven. Ill lay another bet that their cost accountants are a part of the problem, shaving cents here and there and seriously compromising what, for the price, should be a rolls Royce oven.Tip for all, if the oven starts to exhibit strange behavior find a friend who is competent with electronics. He can probably fix it for you for a bottle of his favorite tipple and a few electrolytic capacitors at a cost of less than $20. Thermador, shame on you. Cheap electrolytic capacitors, poor thermal design and a ‘couldnt care less’ service attitude. I know I have the receipt for the current oven somewhere in my files, purchased from Trail appliances along with a five ring Wolf gas range top, Wolf wok burner, Wolf 60 inch external fan hood and a Bosch dishwasher. Just not going to go looking for it right now.

Since installing my new kitchen two months ago with the Thermador package of appliances I have had TWO major problems.1. After having the appliance taken out of the box and install (plugging in) my refrigerator, neither the fridge or freezer got colder than 70 degrees. I called Thermador and they walked me through steps to resolve the problem but to no avail. Thermador proceeded to refer me to two contracted repair services on Oahu. In the meantime I called the Authorized distributor (Servco Appliance Company) and informed them of the problem. They were able to expedite the service (and that was a week later). The service people came out and pushed the same buttons as well as read the manual, coming to the conclusion that my refrigerator was not working and would have to order parts...not having any idea what part! The next morning I got a call from the service company and was told the same thing and was told they would have the parts expedited and it would take 5 days to come in. In the meantime I called Servco and demanded that they get me a new (in the box) refrigerator. FIVE weeks later while waiting for my New refrigerator I received a call from ACE Appliance repair service saying they had just received the parts. I told them to forget it and contacted Servco for and update on my new refrigerator. Eight weeks after the service call, I finally got my new appliance. Now I have noticed a condensation problem on the side of the freezer door.2. Two and one half weeks ago my newly purchased Thermador built in oven stopped working. Error code E118. I must have used the oven 6 times since installing it, the same time as the original frig. I called Thermador again and was walked through the reset procedure (turn the 220 breaker switch off for 5 minutes then turn back on). This had no effect on the problem... it took 10 days to get a service man out here. Again we went through the whole thing again. He called Thermador and he was told E1108 meant a problem with the fan and it had to be replaced. I new that even before he walked in the door. Just google it!!!!!! I am told that NO PARTS are stocked in Hawaii and at a minimum it will take another 2 weeks before he comes out again....That is over a month without an oven and the clock is ticking on the warranty. I would not recommend this brand as they have no credibility.

My range is 4 years old. Finally called Thermador directly and they confirmed what the repair person told me. Once you turn the oven to a certain temperature you cannot adjust it, no turning down that pie thats been in for 15 minutes. You have to turn the oven off and let it cool down. And you cant leave the oven door open or else youll burn out the board that sits at the top of the opening. BIG PROBLEM for me. Cant believe that my $7000 stove doesnt have this feature. Love the burners though.

My oven stopped working and tried to get Thermador tech to come out. Even though we had agreed on a time they missed the appointment and then tried to blame me. They came out and the tech after 2 hours said he couldnt figure out what was wrong and would come out with his manager. But then no one followed up and I was told that it would take more than 2 weeks before they could get back out again with a manager. Nearly 7 weeks without stove working and Thermador doesnt seem to care. This is not the first issue in dealing with repair issues with Thermador. The customer service manager actually had the nerve to say to me, Your unit is out of repair, as if to say, since its not under warranty who cares what happens.

I purchased more than $20,000 worth of Thermador appliances in 2007 for a whole kitchen remodel. Fortunately, I also purchased an extended warranty as well. The oven was installed in June 2007. The first problem within the first week was when the ignitor for large oven was not working properly, and nearly made the oven explode. Since that time, I have had over 10 service calls for the same problem. The large and small ovens are not working, and the x-lo burners are not working, or not cycling off and on as well. I have had ignitors replaced, and control boards replaced, numerous times (ignitor gap adjustments, etc.), all to no avail. It works for two or three months, then stops working altogether. This was my third ruined Thanksgiving dinner. I told Maytag (the extended warranty company) that I wanted a replacement oven. They pretty much laughed at me. Unless the same item has been replaced three times within a calendar year, they will not replace it,and theyll only fix it. At this point, after reading all of these complaints, I dont think it would do me much good to get a new one, because they apparently only make junk, which will obviously not work anyway. Not what I had hoped for, out of an $8,000.00 stove. I placed a complaint with the BBB, but there were already four on there that had not been responded to by Thermador. What a surprise. I can not believe that this company is getting away with this. Isnt there a law against knowingly selling faulty equipment? Buyers beware! Now, I am stuck with an oven that cost as much as a used car, and I will have to continue to pay for an extended warranty, just so I dont get stuck with the bi-monthly repair bills.

I remodeled my kitchen 6 years ago and purchased 4 major appliances from a dealer specializing in this company - Thermador! I researched Thermador and saw that they were highly rated. Well, every appliance has been a piece of trash and I cant use my oven as it doesnt keep temperature and the part has been in limbo for 2 months. My induction cooktop has been repaired a couple of times over these 6 years. Now my dishwashers springs have popped and I am waiting for a certified Thermador tech to come and fix it. We recently purchased a home that has a Thermador range in it. I love to cook and believed this unit was a high end range, just waiting, waiting for an opportunity to use it. Well, the first time I turned it on, the igniter did not work. That was replaced however, the oven door does not close all the way. In reading the numerous reviews, it seems the hinges are faulty. All I can say is, of all the ranges I owned, I have never had to replace either the igniter or the oven door hinges. Appears Thermador, maybe resting on its laurels, or what used to be.

The product works well and provides what I need to feed my family. That is what I need in equipment. Good price and works wonders. Appearance is great. Looks strong and sturdy and I like the modern look that it provides my kitchen. Makes it stand out more than the past stove I had in there. Fits in the little spot where my stove goes, not too big nor too small in size. Perfect oven size for what I need to cook in there also.

Thermador PRL366EG Pro Range - This was supposed to be my dream range. Saved forever to buy it. Replaced a GE stove, which we donated to the fire department, with this piece of junk! The FD is still using the GE and Ive had two burners repaired and Im on my 4th oven repair in 6 years. Same problem on the oven; cant seem to get it fixed. The oven heats up but doesnt maintain temperature. Bake a pie at 450 for 15 minutes then reduce the temperature to 350 to finish the baking and the oven turns itself off, though the indicator light says heating. The technician cant seem to replicate the problem. If I turn the oven off, wait five minutes and then turn it back on the oven will come back up to the correct temp. One suggestion made by the service dept was to just turn the oven off and wait and then turn it back on every time I needed to reduce the temp in a recipe. Really? I tried to stay calm and explain why that was not possible and why I should not have to do that with a range that cost me $6000!!! So parts have been ordered (again) but there is no guarantee that this will be the fix. And a phone call to Thermador did no good, either. Keeping my fingers crossed that these parts are the cure since my technician is working diligently to resolve this for me.Would never, ever buy nor recommend a Thermador again. It would be great if when someone does find a fix to a noted problem, they could post the solution. Might help others.

A fan constantly blows hot air into the kitchen until the oven is turned off & completely cooled down. There are alerts during cooking but the explanation disappears in a split second so if you are not right in front of it, you have no idea what the alert is! The oven timer bings low at its highest setting & ONLY ONCE! The baking mode bakes unevenly so everything needs to be rotated! I’m so incredibly disappointed! Customer service is as disappointing as the double ovens!

We experienced our first service issue within 6 months and the problems have persisted. Thermador refuses replace the range and continues to put us through misery to maintain this $20,000 appliance. Repair Issue #1 – 10/17/19• Door Gasket on Steam Oven Failed Repair Issue #2– 4/20/20• Stainless steel borders (sides and front) became discolored and pitted. Thermador replaced. Repair Issue #3 – 1/12/21 through 1/26/21 • Complete failure of internal electronic components. • All electronic boards had to be replaced over multiple service calls.• Top griddle warped and had to be replaced. Repair Issue#4 - 3/9/21• Warming drawer display module failed. Still not repaired. Repair Issue #5 – 4/15/21• Rear fans making growling noise. Still not addressed. All warranty work to date has been conducted by Huff Appliance, 1314 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206. Phone (615) 226-2080. On 4/15/21 Huff Appliance stated, “This unit has so many issues that in my opinion this unit is unrepairable.” On 4/26/21 Thermador requested additional information of Huff Appliance on all issues to decide on if they will replace the unit. This process has grown increasingly frustrating, given Thermador has a detailed service record of the repairs which they (Thermador) authorized to date. Our warranty (2 years) has now officially expired, and it appears Thermador is attempting to wash their hands of this issue. We purchased this appliance for daily use and entertaining. Parts have taken weeks and months to arrive. During much of our ownership over two years it has been non-operational (and still is). We understand that given COVID, parts may take longer. Given this was a new unit we should have not been put in this situation. We have zero confidence this unit will not break down again due to its performance history. My wife had double hip replacement surgery 10 days ago and Thermador called this morning telling us they want to send another service agent to our home. Unfortunately we are at a point where we will need to get attorneys involved. Avoid this company at all costs, their customer service is terrible.

Spent over $27,125.00 on Thermador appliances. 48 range knobs were very loose and oven temp was not working. It was on 350 but the oven would only slightly warm. Got a new thermostat knob yet the oven does not heat up accurately. Smaller oven to this day still does not work properly. Bake means broil!! We can never get a correct temp. And for the first 5 mins it broils no matter what temp you are on. Fridge/freezer side by side was delivered with broken wheels. Ice machine has broken twice - Went months without ice. Drawers have broken. Now our dishwasher on the outside panel has RUSTED. How does stainless steel rust? The whole front is brown. We sent pics in and complained. Oh but you only have 30 days on cosmetics. Buy this cleaner... Customer Service is disgraceful. They dont care at all - I want a Thermador sales rep in my house NOW! Shame on you Thermador. You have no customer service loyalty. You took my money and wont help anyone by the looks of things, not just me. Be warned. Dont buy Thermador, I am sick over this...

I purchased the entire Thermador kitchen since they were offering the deal of free dishwasher and hood. Now I know why they are giving this crap away. The dishwasher is broken and has been for about 1 month, service is terrible. Now I’m trying to bake Christmas cookies with my kids and Im ready to cry. Nothing is baking according to how it used to bake in my old oven. This thing is taking loads of extra time to bake a batch of cookies. Not to mention that my Thanksgiving turkey was totally dried out. This oven is an expensive piece of garbage that we are stuck with! Dont buy Thermador!

When we renovated our kitchen 6 years ago we got all Thermador appliances. The dishwasher has since been replaced (after 4 years and over $1,500 in repairs that lead to nothing), the double ovens work but I cannot read the digital display that shows the time or timer. This has never worked since day one and no matter what the technician tried to do, it didnt fix the problem that area just flashes. My favorite (tongue in check) appliance by far is the fridge. After about 8 months the left door suddenly wouldnt close. We discovered the plastic sleeve that rolls in when closing and out when opening kept buckling and we would have to smooth it over with our hands in order to close the door. Try having anyone under 5 feet do that every time they open the fridge door. This has been repaired 4 times. Presently, the door does not shut again, the fridge turns off every night so we wake to a warm fridge and turns itself back on once we start opening the doors in the morning. The ice maker also stopped working last week. Technician is coming today. I cannot tell you how excited I am to hear what will need to be done and the cost to start the process to fix the problems. If history repeats itself, I will spend a few thousand dollars trying to repair what is wrong, only to discover that I will need to spend more money to try other fixes... since the ones we have done are not working. If you are thinking about buying a Thermador... DO NOT DO IT. Unless you are the kind of person that enjoys throwing money out the window and dealing with a service department that loses interest in you the second you buy their product.

Our 13 year old Thermador oven relay panel caught on fire. After extinguishing the flames, I contacted a service company and Thermador. Thermador said replacement parts are made for ten years and when they are all sold, Thermador cannot supply parts for its broken ovens. I do not want to purchase another Thermador oven knowing after ten years parts are no longer made.

The following information is based on MY observations pertaining to the new Thermador kitchen appliance product line (range, microwave, oven and dishwasher) that we purchased in March 2019 and had installed in our home in May 2019. The six burner range with a grill is beautiful and works as designed to work. The microwave has a timer function that you cannot use because the panel light times out thereby cancelling the timer you set for cooking needs (I’m told this is a design function that cannot be changed due to energy-savings guidelines). You have to press six (6) button options before it’s set and starts to warm up a cup of water or other warming/heating needs. There is no distinction in the sound coming out of it whether set at the lowest (1) or the highest (5). The volume control, while set at its lowest setting (1), is so very loud and can be heard throughout the entire house (I’m told this is a design function that cannot be changed). The oven works as designed to work, however, the volume control is similar to the microwave except in REVERSE; the sound is barely audible while set at the highest setting (5) which means you must remain in the kitchen to hear the timer go off indicating your food is ready to be checked and come out of the oven (I’m told that they’re working on a design fix due to consumer feedback and it could take several months to correct). The dishwasher manual encourages you NOT to rinse your dishes but to scrape the food off and allow the sensor to regulate the cleaning mode.Since it uses a condensation heat mode to dry your dishes it never seems to completely cool down and dry out inside the unit so the remaining food on the plate starts to decay and smell foul when you open the door. I had to purchase an old fashioned timer to set on the kitchen counter for cooking timing purposes, and warming up a midnight snack or a cup of water for tea in the morning are a thing of the past unless I want to wake everyone in the house up.

After much research we purchased a higher end stove which at the time we paid over $6000 for. We remodeled an old farmhouse and built the kitchen around the stove. Soon after we had it we had to have a few service calls but that was no big deal. Now only four of the burners work and we called out a Thermador service tech who informed us they no longer make parts to fix it. I called the Thermador factory and talked with customer service who also stated they no longer made parts and told us we were out of luck and the stove is 19 years old. That is unacceptable to me. The attitude I received was shameful. Just because an appliance is nineteen years old should not make it obsolete. I assure you I will never purchase any Thermador product in my lifetime and I will ensure any family member will NOT purchase one either. It is hard for me to believe that that just quit making parts and it is not only for my model either, it is for numerous models they misrepresented when they sold them.

We are really impressed with our new dishwasher! It is well designed in many ways. Our old DW had a small third top rack, like this one, but the rack in the old one was too shallow to hold things like our frying pan spatula and was fairly useless. This rack holds those utensils nicely and has a super silverware holder built in, so we removed the silverware holder from the lower rack, which makes more room in the lowest rack. Which brings me to another impressive feature. This dishwasher holds a LOT of dishes! The slots are very close together, which made me wonder if there was enough room for the dishes to get clean, but it does a great job of cleaning, even though I follow their recommendation and do NOT rinse my dishes. If you worry about odors like I did, when you shut the door, it REALLY closes tight, so the dirty dishes do not smell up the kitchen. As a final note, the cycle is quick, and the default energy-saving drying works so well that even the bottoms of my coffee mugs, which always used to have a small amount of water that I had to dry by hand , come out completely dry.

I purchased the PDR364GLZS Stove/Oven/Grill unit in 2004. Since then Ive had to replace 3 grill igniters, 3 stove burner igniters, the pc board and an oven heating element. Now, parts are becoming, discontinued by the manufacturer. So soon, I will have a $3,200+ hunk of stainless steel taking up space in my kitchen. If you insist on buying a Thermador product, be prepared to spend money on future repairs, and the parts being discontinued rendering your appliance useless.

We have repeated failures of the blower motors on our oven. If the oven senses that either fan isnt spinning at nominal speed, the oven shuts down. Its a $500 bill every time one of the motors goes out ($300 service plus $200 for the part). The first went out barely a year after we bought the oven. The next went out later the same year. Barely a year later and one of the replacements is failing. Replacing the fan involves pulling the oven from the wall, no easy feat for the do-it-yourselfer.Note that sometimes a reset will work, at least temporarily. Thermador doesnt make the reset easy. You have to cut off power at the circuit breakers, turn power back on, then do the programming for date and time. Very frustrating if you have to do this several times hoping that fan will spin a bit faster on the next go around.

My Thermador double oven is only 3yrs old. The first problem I had was to replace the clock. It had stop working. Thank goodness it was still under warranty that time. Now after 3 years having the oven, my stress level had sky rocket. First, it took over a month to finally to get an authorized technician to come out to look at it. So, I had 3 technicians to tell me what parts I need to replace it. Thermador have given me 50% off the price of the parts. Well I guess the management felt sorry for me since it took over a month to get a Technician out here. So, the technician ask me to order the first two parts which was the wire harness & module control. Well it still didnt work. So I order the 3rd parts; it still didnt work. Then I finally order the 4th part which is the power supply. My oven is still not working! For the fourth time of replacing this parts. This oven is totally curse. This is beyond me. I have never in my life had never run into this kind of problem. Worse than a vehicle. This issue has been going on for 5 months now. Please if someone is reading this or had the same similar incident. I need help!

I recently purchased a Thermador double wall oven. Since I was replacing an existing Thermador double wall oven and needed the same size, I did not check the reviews. My mistake. The ovens do not properly heat, so I contacted the store where I purchased the ovens and they came and checked them out. According to Yale Electric where I purchased the ovens, I should not expect the ovens to be at temp when the ovens register that they are at temp. I was told to preheat for a half an hour before using. Even when I do this, the ovens do not properly heat. Second issue is with the door venting system. The vents are just above the window, and while you cook, splattering can seep into the space leaving you with streaks and food on the inside of the glass. There is no way to clean it. I would not recommend purchasing a Thermador and regret my decision to do so.

We recently purchased a new Thermador oven Model MSD301WS/01. The user interface is horrible as it uses a display panel that is located about 2 feet off of the floor and requires you to swipe the menu options (like a smartphone) to make your selections. I literally have to kneel down on the floor to read the display and the text swipes so quickly that I have to carefully swipe word by word to find what I want to do. I never thought that turning on an oven to bake something would be so difficult and uncomfortable! The oven comes with WiFi capability that is impossible to connect to your router. It is so bad (not even sure if it works) that there are 3 places you have to get instructions to try and connect it - the user manual, a special home connect instruction pamphlet, and the app you have to install on your smartphone. After spending several hours trying to connect to my router (I come from the IT industry) I finally called customer support. We spent almost an hour trying to get it connected while he gave me step by step instructions from 2 different instruction sources. We could never get it connected so we decided I need a service call. He told me that if the problem is due to connectivity from my router then I would have to pay for the service call. My router works fine but I think that this is really poor customer service! I discourage anyone looking at new ovens to buy this one. I will probably send mine back.

Its the same problem that I have read about over and over and over again. My 10 year old Thermador 27 double oven has had most of the problems described in previous reviews. The incessant beeping where you have to shut down breaker for it to stop, the default codes that pop up because of the erratic sensors, and finally the control board going on the fritz and finding out that there is no way to purchase anew or even rebuilt one because it has been discontinued. Yes, its been 12 years, but, for what we paid for this oven, to have the horrible response from Thermador. And, to have a piece of scrap metal after paying $480 in repairs...well, just unthinkable. Customer service was dismissive, at best. Condescending at worst. My story begins. Purchased 12 years ago, several repairs along the way, but she was well used. Then, about 4 years ago, the self cleaning went. I had only used it twice, so it was not worth putting up with or paying for repairs (which are quite expensive and require a Thermador Tech to come out). No error code, it just wouldnt work. Then, the broiler started to give me trouble. All of a sudden, we had the power go out and BOOM! We have no oven with 1 error code indicating the main circuit board is out. While the board was $250 -ish, with the service calls and labor, the cost was about $480. Which, I would have been fine with, if the oven worked. The tech put the oven on, it went on, went to about 275, and he determined it was fixed. That evening, in preparation of dinner, I turned the oven on and it would not go beyond 325 before shutting down. I called back. We are on service call 3 at this point. He cant figure out the problem, maybe a faulty circuit board, he will have to contact Thermador and get back with me. Service call 4. Wow, big problem, it is NOW the blow motor. And, they no longer manufacture Blow Motors for this model. (Used to be a $100-ish part, pretty inexpensive). Well, sorry, but the main circuit board is not refundable, basically, ** you. I called Thermador, initially, to ask about the Blow Motor.I was told, Well, these arent like automobiles where we manufacture parts forever. My response, Well, you charged me as much as my first automobile, so I would think there should be an alternative. Sorry, check online, see if anyone has old parts...basically, ** you. So, I begin the search for a new oven, and yes, I have EXCLUDED Thermador from my search. I begin to think, how do I verify the tech didnt break this blow motor in his install? I do not think I should have paid for this repair if that is the case. Or, did he misdiagnose and there were 2 issues he should have seen, basically saving me the payment on the board. So, I call Thermador again, to verify if there are multiple issues, should I have seen multiple error codes? Seems like a reasonable question. Well, customer service cant answer this. Only a technician can. Ok, transfer me to a technician, please. Well, they are on the road. Well, can I leave a message. Well, no. Well, can someone else answer this? Well, of course not. But, I will be happy to get you another outside technician to come in. But, you see, I know the error code, I know the part is not available, why would I pay for ANOTHER visit to tell me my oven is a 400# piece of trash? Maybe I should be happy I had 12 years of reasonable happiness with her, but, I would hope that when you pay this much for an appliance the Co would stand behind her. Well, just to let you know, that will only last for a few years, until they stop manufacturing parts for it.

Now we fight through another battle. The oven was again eventually fixed and survived several cleanings but once again the oven is kaput after an attempt to use the cleaning cycle. The appliance service from the purchaser was supposed to be wonderful, however, not so much for Thermador. Its been almost 2 weeks now, no fridge and Thanksgiving is in 5 days. Very frustrated with no callbacks and having to chase service provider. Breakage: The range door, upon moving into place, simply came off. Im unsure the motive to have it work this way, please beware. I do wish that my experiences were better, they are beautiful, however having appliances that are ready to install when delivered and in working order is much more important. Good luck.

NEGATIVE STAR RATING!!!! We spent almost $6K for a double-oven that is BARELY USED. After 4 years, the top oven burnt food and blew up Pyrex baking dishes within just a few minutes at 325 degrees. Thermador customer service informed us that we would have to absorb any diagnostic and repair costs since the 2-yr. manufacturers warranty has expired. This is unacceptable!!!!

The product works as expected. I have not had any issues or problems with the product since purchase. Its easy to use and operate, and has all the features you need in a range. It simple to use and efficient. I am extremely happy with the overall value. I was able to purchase at an amazing price. I actually spent less than I had budgeted for, which made me very happy. It looks great, works great. I am extremely happy with the appearance of the product. Considering I was able to get it at an amazing price, it still looks modern and stylish. It looks a lot more expensive than it actually was and it matches my other appliances, and looks awesome in my kitchen. The size of the range is perfect. Big enough that I can fit larger items in the stove and cook multiple sides on the range top. But its not so bulky that it looks obnoxious. It fits perfectly in the designated area.

When we purchased $18,000+ on Thermador Gas range, Built in oven/Microwave and Dishwasher we were never told that we were in a no service area for repairs. Trying to work with Thermador customer support to find an appliance service repair shop to service our under warranty products has been a nightmare! We only live a few miles from Hermann, MO but customer support has to negotiate a service rate with a repair shop and most shops wont comply. Unbelievable!! Thermador products are not worth the price you pay!! We thought buying a better brand name like Thermador would give us good quality for many years. Not so!! We even sent an email to CEO of Thermador with no solution. Our warranties will be up January 2021 and I have no idea how we will get service after that. Im sure we will have to reach deep in the pocket book for that! DONT BUY THERMADOR!

I got so sick of it being fixed that I took out insurance with American Home Shield. Another disaster, it never kept the right temperature. The self cleaning was terrible, so now I said let me buy new ovens. When I went to buy new ovens, any brand they discontinued the size. Nobody was ever able to fix it so now I have one oven that barely works. Totally fed up.

We are now two months without a working freezer. I cannot stress enough how bad our experience has been. My wife is on the phone nearly everyday with customer service reps, but nothing gets done. They have sent the same incompetent repair people four times to no avail. They cancel appointments and reschedule without informing us. The corporate headquarters are in Germany, so there is no one else to talk to. At the same time, they have wanted to charge us $1,500 in labor costs. Can you imagine paying $1,500 for a job not done? I might add we have seven Thermador appliances in our kitchen! I would not recommend Thermador to anyone.Updated on 08/01/2016: We have now entered our fourth month without a freezer. It is very clear to us that Thermadors game plan is to frustrate the customer so that he/she will eventually give up. To recapsulate: we had repairmen out four or five times unable to fix the problem. On four occasions, the company cancelled the appointment without informing us and we had to reschedule. This caused additional delays. Without exaggerating, I would say my wife has been on the phone with customer service more than 30 times. Now they have offered us a new freezer at a discount, but will not provide any kind of installation or delivery into the house; nor will they remove the old, non-working freezer. The installers they recommend refuse to remove the old unit for insurance reasons. They also refuse to bring the new unit into the house from the curb. So here we are: it will cost us nearly the price of the freezer to have the new one installed if we could find someone to do it.My wife is in tears with frustration and anger. We have not been able to speak with anyone outside of customer service. It is a German company with apparently no executives here. I want to restate that our unit remains under warranty. I cant think of a worse example of customer service in my 55 years. Next step: New York State attorney general.

I build my kitchen around Thermador appliances... I received my range in December. It kept turning off after 10 min could not use self clean etc. Tech came out to fix...but after coming 3 times with no success my place of purchase decided to replace the whole range. I received a new 60 inch range 2017 model. They dropped it off without installing the unit...so I had someone come who I paid to do install. After install I was getting a cooling fan error. I had tech come again and he arrived after his second visit. He arrived with wrong part. A week later arrived again with wrong part...then called to say he would have to come back because he wasnt able to move unit by himself. Now another appointment a week later. He arrived with a pump to lift oven but wasnt strong enough to lift it...so lucky I was there. I helped him move the oven to install cooling fan. While oven was out I asked if he can pls raise the legs in the back about an inch so unit can be flush with tile. His response was its not my job. After all this and to say its not my job was very annoying...so now he installs fan but Im still receiving same error. I called again. They are sending same the same guy out with a helper. The day of repairs I get a call saying his helper could not get out of his driveway due to snow...really...but I was able to leave house with the same area snow. Now its end of March still no oven. 4 months without an oven to use and taking my wifes taken 10 days off work for them to come and fix. Horrible service. People whatever you do stay away from Thermador. Im am now going to place of purchase and asking them to remove all Thermador stuff from my home. I will be buying Wolf and Sub-Zero. Not sure of the issues I will be having if any with them but it cant be worse than Thermador...worst customer service I have ever come across. Also I paid like 20k for this range. My old oven I believe was a Miele. Ive had for 15 years without an issue. All I can say is stay far away.

No replacement part available for a $1300.00 Thermador oven - The part of the thermostat on our oven that controls the self-cleaning mechanism is broken. There are no replacement parts available and was told there never would be. The stove is 10 years old. I cannot even get the company to tell me how to hand clean the oven so that I do not do damage to it. Customer service is non-existent at Thermador. We are stuck with an expensive 48 oven and hood that our kitchen was built around. I am sickened by Thermadors lack of customer service. I am desperate to find this part or have one made. Thermador would not help me with advice and will not return calls.

This 48 Range #PRD48JDGU has been giving me problems since I purchased it. At two months old the small oven went out. Then the control panel needed to be replaced. Then right front burner had to be replaced. Next Left front burner had to be replaced. Now the small oven fan wont turn off, and door will lock and unlock. I had to turn off entire unit. For fear that its going to cause a fire. Customer Service is a joke. They put you on hold forever. I really believed in this company. But I guess because they have been around 100 years. Thermador SC302T Double built-in ovens. - There have to be the worst appliances for parts availability, reliability and service. You pay Cadillac prices and end up with Yugo reliability. Although the oven is now 12 years old, during this time, it has been nothing but trouble. After the first year, the display started to fade until it was gone. Clearly, someone decided to save 1/10 of a cent per oven by using poor tolerance capacitors in a hot environment. Hey, they made an extra cent, and the customer had to pay 125 dollars for the part and a couple of hundred for a service call. Fast forward two years, same story. The second unit died a couple of years later. By this time, there were no replacements, so I sat with a dark screen for a couple of years. Some time, Thermador changed hands and BSH started making the displays, AND control panel as a unit for 450 dollars. The upper oven temperature was failing, due to the temperature control module. I purchased the board and control, and made the replacement myself. Im sure that in another 2 years, it will need to be replaced again by which time I suspect the parts will be obsolete and unavailable.

I have a Thermador stove. The stove was very expensive and is a piece of junk. Never buy Thermador! The convection brain went out in the oven and I contacted service. Service came and told me the brain went out and I would need a new one. I tried to order it but they would never call me back. Does Thermador service even exist? When I am in a store selling Thermador and see people looking at them I run over and tell them what crap they are. When a person puts this kind of money into something they expect it to work. The service guy asked me if I really needed the convection bake system. Really? Buy a different brand. Fortunately only my stove is Thermador. The rest of the stuff is good.

I purchased a 48 dual fuel Thermador range on July 20th 2016. It is now September 22nd and it still does not work. The first problem after setting up making connections and checking for gas leaks I found the third valve from the left had a gas leak at the main manifold. So the process of repair begins. What a mess.I call the authorized service facility four times trying to communicate with the repair technician so he would be able to order parts prior to traveling 110 mile to look at problem then return waiting 7-10 shipping days, two weeks, to get the part then make a return trip. After the fourth call I was told I had to call between 8:00 and 8:30 to be able to talk with the repairman. FINE! So I call the next day and explain where the leak is. He orders parts. After two and a half weeks he makes the trip. Upon removal and disassembly he sees, Yep I was correct. Then he opens box at job site. I remind you Im a 110 miles from the service station. So WRONG PART! Back to plan B.I chew on them and they promise to expedite the correct part and open the box prior to leaving the shop. I receive a call after one and a half weeks. They have the part and the box was opened and its correct. I am scheduled for the following Tuesday. So Monday arrives and I receive a call stating my parts will be on Thursday and Im scheduled for the following Tuesday. NO NO NO! Im scheduled for tomorrow. Nothing can be done no part! The serviceman arrives a week late and makes the repair. Before he leaves we have troubles with the two XLO burners on the two outsides of the stove top. He says I have a power problem and it was up to me to fix. Im an electrician and told him I didnt believe that. He returns to the shop. I pull the range back out and test. NO power problem! I try the small left-hand oven and I get ERROR TEMP PROBE, call some 1-800 number so I do. Yep Im in need of service. So back to the service station I go. Ive received a call stating the part is in. However the serviceman is on vacation until October 2nd and Im scheduled for the 4th.Ive tried several calls direct to Thermador. The last call I was told I would receive a call back on what they plan to do about this problem. This is the fourth day and no return call. I just want this thing out of my house and Im done with it! Outside of an attorney Im not sure what I am able to do. Im going to call consumer reports next. DONT ever buy one of these! Terrible quality control and even worse service network!

I just purchased Thermador/Bosch appliances for our newly constructed/remodeled home. I regret it already. The refrigerator needed a replacement part at installation. This should have been a blazing red flag. 3 months after installation, the dishwasher stopped functioning. The part is on back order for so long that they are giving me a replacement, but it will take another 3 weeks. I will be out of a dishwasher for approximately 8 weeks. I have an infant meaning that I have to hand wash all bottles/breast pump parts non-stop. The customer service is garbage - the four (yes, count them, four) women I have spoken to are all rude and it appears that their employees take vacation every other day (at least that is what they have been attributing repeated lack of responsiveness). I hate this company already and now it looks like I am going to be dealing with them for years to come...great.

$14k oven external temp gauge broke a few weeks after short warranty. After multiple phone calls the company agreed to fix it. They replaced the whole computer panel. However, this was NOT the problem and the temp gauge was still broken. They argued this was not the original issue I called in about (it was). I even have the pictures I took when I initially called them that highlighted the broken temp gauge. Now they want to charge me $500 for the repair. I absolutely hate them. It was $100 service call to inform us 2 days later that they cant get the parts as Thermador no longer carries them. So I called Thermador itself and they were very polite but totally unapologetic. You might be able to get them for a parts store on Internet (did not work). So unless you plan to throw out your ovens if you have a or any Thermador product I recommend you buy some other product. Bought a full kitchen suite of commercial grade Thermador products in 2013. Got the one-two-free promotion so a great price point and other leading brands had equal pro/con review. Have had continual problems since day one; oven has been repaired 4 times for motherboard, temp dial, heating consistency, burners not igniting; freezer ice maker repaired 3 times for clogging ice buildup which shuts down the ice maker and needs to be re-set. Still clogs and quits but I have stopped calling for expensive repair visits and now turn off the freezer for 10 minutes to re-boot the ice maker every time it clogs (about every other month); refr has salad makings consistently condense and rot with water after two days.Read all the manuals, following instructions. Today needed to change out a bulb in the oven and find the lamp housing installed backwards in the very back of the oven, making it almost impossible to get a screwdriver in to pry the glass lens off (well, actually havent got this accomplished yet so maybe it is impossible). The auto-shut off for warming drawer (as part of range) has never worked. Repairman said he could replace drawer for $1,000 - think I will place a $.01 post it note on it for turn-off reminder. Products all look great - but look for other brands! I would not buy Thermador again and as an architect I have my clients look at any other brand first.

I mentioned it and was told oh when the freezer reaches temp the door will suction close?? Ok the door doesnt close and the light is on. I called service again. Our range oven (RDF30RS) oven stopped heating, so since only 2013, we had the control panel repaired by auth repair co. The night the repair was completed, the stove stopped igniting (spark modulator failed?). Repair co said it was only coincidental, so after almost $500. to repair oven (which we assumed made sense given over $4,000. price), but we are now told that it is difficult to replace the spark modulator due to impossibility of removing stovetop (screws need to be bored out and replaced), so repair cost is almost $800. Thermador Professional Pro-Guard Model PRL486EDG/02 - After reading many of the reviews on this website, it is fitting that we share our negative experience as well. Many of the issues posted by other owners are the same we have experienced - small oven explosion, XLO burners not working, replacement of both oven controls and most recently, ovens not operating. The stove is 5 years old and was purchased new. The first issues began shortly after moving in to our new home. The local authorized service representative really didnt know much about the equipment. We have since found a local repair rep who has tried to repair each issue and has gotten timely tech support but for the most part, it has been to replace a part. Currently, every feature is working; however, we do not recommend buying a Thermador product due to lack of meaningful warranty, customer support, and the cost of ownership. We will replace it rather than invest any more money in life support. Had we discovered this forum before we purchased the stove, we would have chosen another manufacturer.

The large oven kept shutting off and the door doesnt shut. Resetting the breaker appeared to fix it, but didnt. Repairman came out and replaced the main board and relay board for $600. Now the large oven works, but the light does not go off in the large oven, and the fan runs continuously after using the small oven until you shut off the breaker. The repairman does not know why. Also charged $200 to replace the switch panel on the vent hood, which he was certain would fix the halogen lights. It didnt. Is anyone aware of a class action suit? Today, July 21st, 2014, after replacing parts in Feb. 2014, I have to call someone again because it is broken again. We average 2 service calls a year with parts and labor. Replacement part of oven sensor no longer available which makes the double ovens non-operational when it senses a problem that usually does not exist. All other parts of the oven work and it is poor customer service to leave a total replacement as the only option. Built-in oven replacements amount to thousands of dollars. I cannot in good conscience recommend a company that said they are only liable for the parts for 7 yrs. This is Thermador using Government Regulations to provide poor customer satisfaction and quality control.

I bought the hood 30 days ago and since the day I receive it it didn’t work. Yes it’s 10,000$ defective range. They sent me a technician 3 times trying to fix it and he disassemble the range piece by piece and put it back together and still not working. This is a scam. This appliance didn’t pass quality check before selling it for the big $$. Stay away from Thermador. Stay away from Thermador. I can’t say it enough. Scammers and thiefs!!

One technician from Thermador who knew very well the appliances came to my house and resolved our problems! So far we have been two months with a new icemaker that works pretty well! I will say that he fixed the range but they are not made to be used everyday all day 24/7. Thank you!

I just bought Thermador appliances (Refrigerator, Stovetop, Microwave Oven, Dishwasher, Exhaust fan for stovetop) from Best Buy and they delivered the appliances on Feb 06, 2016 for my newly refurbished kitchen. When they delivered the appliances to my house and I opened the boxes, I noticed the Refrigerator had a dent on the door and the Microwave Oven had permanent marker markings on the sides of the appliance. The Stovetop that was installed started making noises the first day it was installed. Every time I turn the stove on, there is a ticking noise that does not go away and stays on until I turn off the stove. All five burners make this noise. Along with the ticking noise, the stainless steel stove turned dirty yellow upon first use. If I cook anything for 5 minutes, the cooktop turns gets a dirty yellow stain which does not go away. I complained to Best Buy, however, no one helped me. I used a normal sized pan to cook my food and the entire stovetop around that burner turned dirty yellow! The color does not come off! Since I noticed all these problems I called Best Buy that I want to return the appliances because they are horrible quality and also I received damaged goods upon receiving the appliances whereas I paid for brand new items. I spend about $10,000 dollars on these appliances. I called Best Buy again on the 10th day of my purchase and said I want to return the appliances. I talked to several people from Best Buy, Sam, Stan, Richard, & Jason and they kept putting me on hold but no one was able to help me still. Eventually, they said they would call me back and no one ever did. Finally, after five days of continuously trying to contact Best Buy, I finally got to the manager and he said it has been more than 14 days to return the appliances because the 14 days return policy had been over. Just to mention, upon purchase, no one had told me there was a 14-day return policy. However, I was trying to reach Best Buy since day 10 and they kept pushing me off. Now I am stuck with appliances I don’t want because they came damaged upon arrival. Best buy manager said that he can change the refrigerator door but I do not want it anymore. I am trying to get in touch with Thermador but no one is able to help me. I am extremely upset! My Sales Number is ** and **. I need someone from Thermador to contact me so I can get things cleared up and I want to return the appliances back as soon as possible. Some of the appliances seem like they may have been previously used and returned by other people. I really appreciate the corporate office if they take notice of the used items and help me. I have not used any of the appliances besides the cooktop; the rest are still sitting there waiting to be installed. Can someone please help me for God sake?

I was led into buying a complete Thermador kitchen when I remodeled. I got top of the line Thermador Freedom tower fridge/freezer at $6000, 40 double oven at $3000, stainless dishwasher, forget price, and a range top. The stove top is the only one still functioning after three years. Every other unit has failed multiple times, both in and out of warranty. None of the issues were ever addressed by Thermador. The oven was so broken I got a credit card refund after a long dispute over 18 months after the purchase date. As a software engineer, I can tell that all these problems are from poorly written software. The behavior is characteristic of inexperienced developers and poor error handling. I contacted the Western US distributor director and suggested that he contact me if he wanted some objective feedback on the oven problems.I had a conference call with Thermador engineers and they truly had no idea how an oven controller is supposed to work. They claimed that the oven knew better what temperature to use than the user and as such it never got hot enough. Apparently, it second-guesses the cook and decides on some other temperature based on a combination of sensor readings. The freezer failed after about 14 months when the ice maker unit self destructed and was going to cost 40% of a new freezer to fix. I declared time of death on the fridge when the main controller ceased communicating with any of the peripherals. I had been diligently replacing them as they failed but once the brain died, it was over, too much money to replace. The dishwasher, well, who ever thought a dishwasher needed an on/off button? With Thermador, you need one so you can reboot it frequently when it locks up. I guess this is the least problematic unit. All the plastic gizmos for flip up trays, etc. have all broken off in the the first six months. OK, I lied, this ones still working. 1 out of 3, after a > $10K outlay. Never again.

First a little background. We own 2 homes and in them we have 3 Bosch dishwashers, 2 Thermador Cooktops and Thermador oven. All purchased new within the last 5 years. So with our one cooktop [$1,530 purchase price] one burner wasnt working and the burner cap had fallen down into the unit. We contacted the local AUTHORIZED Thermador repair center. They came out and said the end caps had fused on due to heat and the cooktop couldnt be taken off to do the repair. They said it would have be drilled out and a new cooktop installed. We then contacted where we had purchased it and they said this was a common problem with Thermador and suggested we contact them. We contacted Thermador and opened a claim. They asked us to get an invoice showing we purchased the cooktop new, verification of the diagnosis by their authorized repair center, and the new cooktop invoice and installation receipt. While I was gathering all of those invoices we received a call back saying they would not do anything to assist us because we hadnt contacted them to see if it could be repaired. In fact we had and contacted their repair center. We hadnt contacted while the problem had occurred. In fact we had and opened the claim the day the repair was being done. We even spoke with a supervisor [Vanessa] who simply said they do not help in these cases. If this is how they treat a customer who had purchased what we had [and all high end products] I cant imagine how they treat everyone else. There will be no Bosch or Thermador going back into our home.

We remodeled our kitchen and purchased all new expensive Thermador applianc
We remodeled our kitchen and purchased all new expensive Thermador appliances in mid-2013. In mid November, 2014 the door on our dishwasher slammed down, as the hinge/spring/cable had broken. Both my husband and I were hit with the door, in trying to close the dishwasher door. Both times, resulted in our being bruised by the door!We called Thermador Customer Service (800)735-4328 for repair. We were told that the springs were on Quality Alert. Although, we had never heard from Thermador to advise us of this problem and had sent in our Product Registrations. It takes 3 weeks for repair service. The technician was unable to pull the dishwasher out and told us to call our contractor. We thought he may have been inexperienced and arranged for another technician. 3 weeks later, another technician comes out and he is also unable to remove the dishwasher.Another 3 weeks later, we now have our contractor come out to remove the dishwasher and he had absolutely no problem. The dishwasher has a rubber siding on each side of the unit and with a putty knife, he was able to easily slide the dishwasher out. Something a skilled and trained Thermador technician should be aware of and to handle. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and there is an extreme shortage of qualified technicians, with service calls all seeming to be 3 weeks. It has now been over 2 months later since the problem was reported. Again, not our problem we created, but a Thermador Quality Alert problem! Today the 3rd technician has scheduled to be at our home between 12-4pm and I receive a call from him that he wont be coming because Thermador Parts Center in North Carolina, didnt send all the needed parts! We now have to wait again and since the dishwasher is pulled out, we cant even use it. I called Thermador again to report the problem and was seeking a corporate contact to advise them, but theres no corporate contact name or e-mail address and customer service was going to e-mail them (haha). Buyer beware and be truly informed of the products youre buying and their service (or lack of) records.
