Deco Appliance Troubleshooting

Deco Appliances has been marketing laundry products to the small home industry since 2006. The company’s flagship product is a combo washer-dryer, a single unit that washes and dries in the same machine. Models have been available in venting and non-venting types and in white and silver colors.

Dishwasher Troubleshooting

Dishwasher Will Not Start?
Check if door latch is closed completely.
No cycle selected, select proper cycle.
Check if power cord is properly connected.
Check if water supply valve is opened.
The control panel is locked, dissable the control lock.
A circuit breaker is open, if so reset the circuit breaker.

Food Particles Remaining on Dishes (Dishwasher Not Cleaning Well)?
You selected an inappropriate cycle. Select a cycle according to the number and soil level of the dishes.
Wrong cycle selected. Select appropriate cycle according to number and soil level of dishes, see manual.
Water temperature is low. Connect water supply line to hot water supply. For best performance, temperature of supplied water should be 49˚C (120˚F).

Dishwasher Leaves Glasses with a Cloudy Surface?
Water supplied was too soft and/or too much detergent was used. Use less glasses and add a liquid rinse aid.

Dishwasher Does Not Dry Dishes Well?
No rinse aid was used. Add a liquid rinse aid to the dispenser.
Water temperature is too low. Make sure the dishwasher is connected to hot water supply.
Too many dishes are loaded. This can affect proper drying.

Dishwasher has Bad Odor?
There is leftover water from incomplete cycle. Remove all dishes, add detergent and run a normal cycle to clean dishwasher.
The Drain Hose may be blocked. Contact a qualified appliance repair technician to repair drain hose obstructions.
Dishwasher not being used often and/or dishes left inside too long. Remove all dishes, add 8 ounces of vinegar to empty glass upright on the bottom rack and run normal cycle.

Dishwasher is Too Noisy?
At the early stage of operation, sound is generated from dispenser cover and drain pump. This is normal.
Check if dishwasher is level on the floor.
An object fell inside the pump chamber (a screw, small piece of plastic, etc). Contact a qualified appliance repair technician to remove any foreign objects from pump chamber.

Dishwasher Nozzle Not Rotating Smoothly?
There is food particles clogging the nozzle hole, clean the nozzle.
Check if dishes are loaded properly, and the nozzles are not being blocked by large pots or dishes preventing them from rotating. Rotate nozzles by hand to check if they are free from obstructions.

Water Not Draining From Dishwasher?
The drain pump may be clogged. Contact a qualified appliance repair technician repair drain hose obstructions and check drain pump operation.

Dryer Troubleshooting

Dryer shakes or make noise
Some shaking/noise is normal. Dryer may be sitting unevenly.
Move dryer to an even floor space, or adjust leveling legs as necessary until even.

Control buttons not responding
Controls accidentally put in service mode. Press play.
Controls accidentally put in ‘Keylock’ mode. Hold the Keylock button for 3 seconds to unlock the dryer.
Controls performed an incorrect operation. Check the building’s fuse/circuit breaker box and replace fuse or reset breaker. Note: electric dryers use two fuses or breakers.

Dryer does not start
Control panel is “asleep”. This is normal. Press ‘POWER’ to activate the control panel.
Dryer is unplugged. Make sure the dryer plug is pushed completely into the outlet.
Fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped. Check the building’s fuse/circuit breaker box and replace fuse or reset breaker. Note: electric dryers use two fuses or breakers.
Dryer was accidentally paused when starting ‘Delay Start’. If the light on the play/pause button is flashing, the dryer is paused. Press play/pause to restart the countdown.
Water tank is full. If the ‘Water Tank’ light is on, you must empty the water tank before the dryer will start.

No numbers displayed during cycle, only lights
Dryer is continuously monitoring the amount of moisture in the clothes.
This is normal. When the dryer senses a low level of moisture in the load, the dryer will display the dry time remaining.

Dryer doesn't heat
Fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped; the dryer may tumble but not heat.
Check the building’s fuse/circuit breaker box and replace both fuses or reset both breakers. Your dryer may tumble if only one fuse is blown or one breaker tripped.

Inconsistent drying times
Type of load and drying conditions. The load size, types of fabric, wetness of clothes and the condition of the lint filter, condenser, and/or air intake vent located on the front of the dryer will affect drying times.
Excess debris has collected in the condenser preventing proper airflow.

Static occurs
No fabric softener was used. Try a recommended fabric softener.
Over drying. Try a recommended fabric softener. Adjust setting to a lower dryness level.
Synthetics, permanent press and blends can cause static. Try a recommended fabric softener.

Dryer continues to tumble
‘Wrinkle Free’, ‘Extra’ was selected.
Ensure ‘Wrinkle Free’, ‘Extra’ option is not selected.

Refrigerator Troubleshooting

Refrigerator not cooling
The condenser coils are usually located under the refrigerator. They dissipate heat as refrigerant passes through them. If the condenser coils are dirty, they won’t dissipate the heat effectively. As debris builds up on the coils, the refrigerator becomes less efficient, causing the refrigerator to work harder to cool down. If the coils are significantly dirty, the refrigerator will not be able to maintain the proper temperature. Check the condenser coils to determine if they are dirty—if the condenser coils are dirty, clean them.

Refrigerator water dispenser not working
To determine if the water supply tube is frozen, disconnect the tube at the bottom of the door and blow air through it. If air does not pass through, this indicates that the water supply tube is frozen. If the water supply tube is frozen, thaw it out. In addition, ensure that the freezer is kept at the proper temperature. The freezer temperature should be kept from 0-10 degrees Fahrenheit. If the freezer is too cold, the water line may freeze.

Refrigerator ice maker not working
If the freezer temperature is above 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12C), the ice maker will not produce ice cubes efficiently. The freezer temperature should be set between 0 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -15C) for the ice maker to work properly. If the freezer temperature is too high, ensure that the condenser coils are clear of debris and the condenser fan is working properly. In addition, check to see if frost has accumulated on the evaporator coils. If the evaporator coils are frosted over, part of the defrost system has likely failed.

Refrigerator ice dispenser not working
The dispenser control board governs most of the functions of the dispenser system. If the control board is faulty, it may stop supplying power to the entire dispenser system. If only one dispenser part is not working, test each of the dispenser components before testing the control board. It is more likely that a single part has failed. If the entire dispenser system is not working, the control board is more likely to be at fault.

Refrigerator not defrosting
The defrost control board determines how often to run the defrost cycle. If the board fails, the refrigerator will not go into the defrost cycle. Before replacing the defrost control board, first test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. If the defrost heater and defrost thermostat are working properly, the defrost control board is likely defective.

Refrigerator is noisy or loud
If the refrigerator is noisy or loud, especially when one of the doors are opened, either the evaporator or condenser fan blade may be at fault. First, check out the evaporator fan blade in the freezer behind the back panel. Try turning it by hand. If the fan blade does not turn freely, check to see if the blade is rubbing against something or if something is caught in the blade. Additionally, check the condenser fan blade in the back underside of the refrigerator to determine if it has any obstructions.

Refrigerator defrost drain clogged
The defrost drain might be clogged or frozen. If the defrost drain is frozen, the water will overflow the drain trough and drip down to the bottom of the compartment. If the defrost drain is frozen, thaw it out and ensure that the drain is clear of debris.

Refrigerator freezer is cold but refrigerator is warm
The defrost heater assembly turns on a few times throughout the day to melt away any frost that may have accumulated on the evaporator coils. If the defrost heater assembly is defective, frost will continue to accumulate on the evaporator coils, and the coils will become plugged with frost. If the evaporator coils are frosted over, the airflow through the coils will be restricted, causing the refrigerator not to cool. Check the evaporator coils to determine if they are frosted over. If the evaporator coils are frosted over, test each component of the defrost system.

Refrigerator leaking water
If the defrost drain is frozen, the water will overflow the drain trough and drip down to the bottom of the compartment. This water can eventually leak onto the floor. Check the defrost drain to determine if it is clogged or frozen. If the defrost drain is frozen, thaw the ice. In addition, flush the drain with hot water to ensure that it is clear of debris.

Washer Troubleshooting

Washer won't spin
The lid switch assembly prevents the washer from spinning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not spin. To determine if the lid switch assembly is defective, use a multimeter to test the lid switch for continuity. If the lid switch does not have continuity, replace it.

Washer is making loud noise
The tub bearing is mounted in the middle of the outer tub. The tub bearing helps to keep the inner tub spinning smoothly. Replacing the tub bearing is a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer. If the tub bearing is defective, we recommend replacing both the outer tub and bearing.

Washer won't agitate
If the washer won't agitate, replacing the agitator repair kit may solve the problem. The kit contains the agitator components that are most likely to wear out and/or fail. If any of the parts are worn out, stripped, or damaged, replace the kit.

Washer won't drain
Sometimes, small objects or articles of clothing can get caught in the drain pump. To determine if anything is blocking the drain pump, remove the drain pump and check the pump for obstructions. If the drain pump is clear of obstructions, but is still noisy during the drain cycle, replace the drain pump.

Washer vibrating or shaking
One or more of the shock absorbers might be broken or worn out. The shock absorbers dampen the vibration of the washer tub. If one or more of the shock absorbers are worn out, the washer will vibrate or shake. Sometimes, when a washer is moved to another location, the shock absorbers can separate. Check the shock absorbers to ensure that they are positioned correctly, and inspect them for damage and wear. If one or more of the shock absorbers are broken or worn out, we recommend replacing all of the shock absorbers as a preventative measure.

Washer fills slowly or will not fill at all
The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the washing machine. If the water inlet valve is defective, the wash may fill slowly or not fill at all. The water inlet valve requires sufficient water pressure to function properly. First, check the water pressure to determine that it is adequate. If the water pressure is adequate, try cleaning the screens inside the water inlet valve hose connection ports. If the washer still fills slowly, replace the water inlet valve.

Washer leaking water
The drain pump pumps water out the drain hose. If the drain pump is cracked or damaged, or if the bearings are worn out, the drain pump may leak water. The drain pump is not repairable—if the pump is leaking water, replace it.

Washer won't start
The timer is frequently misdiagnosed—before replacing the timer, first check all of the more commonly defective parts. To determine if the timer is defective, consult your washer’s wiring diagram and use a multimeter to test the timer for continuity.

Washer won't spin or agitate
Inspect the drive belt to determine if it is broken or if it is loose on the pulleys. If the drive belt is broken or loose, replace it.

Our mom has been asking us for present for awhile now I figure we'd replace our old dishwasher at her house. I think I made a good choice just a little difficult with it's operation I had to teach her how to use it properly because it's functions is not as simple as others I've seen or our old washer but this is really good quality and the noise level is not distracting like our old one. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

It doesn't give me any problems and been using it for 4 months now. I love how quiet it is after starting the cycle, once it's done, I checked everything and all of the plates were real clean. I absolutely love it, price is also competitive with other brands, this unit cost less compared to them but I think the performance are quite the same.

Our office is small, but we often have clients come in an visit. We considered having a small mini-fridge put into the office, but - I didn't want our employees also storing their lunch in there, forgetting about it, and them turning into science projects. So, I considered buying a mini fridge for some time to ensure that we could put sodas in there, and that we could adjust the temperature as needed. The fridge has been easy to use, and the ability to see the variety of sodas, iced coffees, and bottled water has made it easy for clients to come in, see what they want - and upon invitation, grab whatever they want. We will be looking into removing the dishwasher from our office kitchenette and installing this in it's place to make it more convenient for future use. :)

If you're expecting to do your laundry with this machine as with a sta
If you're expecting to do your laundry with this machine as with a standard non-combo machine (large loads, doing lots of laundry in one day), you will be disappointed. If you're willing to change the way you do you laundry (a small load everyday), then this thing is for you. This machine allowed us to move our laundry upstairs, which is critical because I have inflammatory arthritis and the stairs were getting awful. I love it. It is like the crockpot of laundry machines - put your laundry in it, push start, and forget about it until its ready. No need to manually switch from washer to dryer. You do have the option to choose "wash only" or "dry only" if that better matches what you're washing. If you're using the condenser dryer feature be warned that you should only fill the drum about half-way (rather than 2/3), and the full cycle will take 3-3.5 hours to complete. There is a vented drying option, so keep that in mind. I like to put the clothes in the machine in the morning before I go to work and then set the delay timer for a few hours so that when I come home from work the dryer has just finished. If you have large queen/king comforters they won't work in this machine; consider doing what the Europeans do (they primarily use this type of combo/condensation dryer machine) and switch to each person having their own smaller/twin size of comforters. Then it will fit! Overall, a great change for our household.

The driver left this in the driveway. It is a full size washer & dryer attached and I was expected to drag it inside by myself. When I called to find out why I was told this brand is considered a small appliance! A full size washer & dryer is a SMALL appliance. The same thing in any other brand is a major appliance and would be brought in and installed. Be aware if you buy this item you will have to be able to move it by yourself and that's no easy task.

I really like the fact that this washer/dryer combo does it all in one but thank goodness I keep it on our porch because where the coin catcher is it seems to hold water & I have to drain it at least every other load or the clothes don’t dry very good & it’s about 1/4 to 1/2 cup that drains out which is the only disappointing aspect of this combo but other than that under my circumstances needing a small unit & 110 plug it’s great & does what I need it to do or I would have given this rating a 5 star!

I have had this washer/dryer combo for about 6 months now and I am pretty happy with it. It works well for me but there are a few things I wish I would have know before hand. The options on this machine are pretty limited compared to other washers and dryers I've used. There are preset cycles for both wash and dry and those are the only options. There is no timed dry - you are limited to 1 hour or 2 hour drying times (or something in between), so if something just needs a little bit more dry time there is no way it put it in for just 20 or 30 minutes without stopping mid-cycle (so you don't get a cool down). With the wash options, you can't select the temperature you want for the cycle. The standard wash cycle is set at a warm temp. I usually like to wash my clothes in cold water to reduce shrinkage, but the only options for a cold cycle is delicates or wool, which i assume isn't going to get my jeans and regular clothes as clean as the standard wash cycle. Also, the dryer does not work the same as a standard dryer even using the vented option - my clothes come out extremely wrinkly (fabric softener helped but they are still very wrinkly) and never have that crisp, dry feeling you get from a standard dryer. There is also no lint trap on this machine, which I don't understand as I have a very hairy dog and I worry about where all that hair is going. Overall, its a good machine as long as you aren't looking for a lot of options.

As long as you don't expect too much it is a good little machine. We are moving to our cottage and there isn't room for a washer dryer. We haven't set it up for venting yet and are only using it non vented. Figure a typical load of laundry (5 pounds) will take 3 hours to wash and dry.
