I'm your average weekend warrior do-it-yourselfer and my wife asked me to refinish our wooden address sign recently. Now we inherited the address sign with the home when we purchased it and I'd estimate probably 30-ish years of painting and repainting caked onto that sign. After hitting it with some coarse sandpaper to get an idea of what I was working with I clearly needed the help of a mechanical sander. Enter the Dewalt DWE6423K Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander.

I was a bit skeptical regarding battery operated chainsaws - honestly I thought this would be under-powered having a previous crappy experience with Dewalt's 18v 6.25in circular saw. I decided on this unit after being very pleasantly surprised by the line trimmer and being quite happy with Dewalt's 20v line of tools. I purchased this saw after reading reviews and deciding to further my commitment to Dewalt (for context, I have about a dozen 18v tools that I began purchasing since they're inception - was a GC back in the late 90's and went with Dewalt so the batteries were interchangeable with the various contractors at job sites).

I love this driver so much I bought 3 of them (so far). Our crew uses them for almost everything, so I may buy more. We drive screws with it, drill holes, drive lag screws and tighten nuts onto carriage bolts. The get used so much, it's the tool of choice when we're building wheelchair ramps. The only time I prefer a drill to drill holes is when it's a really big hole or I need a hammer drill for concrete. Small holes in the end of deck boards to prevent splitting are much easier with this. It's so light, and even the light 2.0 Ah battery lasts forever. The DCF887 has the brushless motor for more power and less maintenance. It has TONS of power. We don't use nails in our ramps, only screws--so it gets a workout. I bought the kit that came with the charger and two 2.0Ah batteries (and case). I also bought several other bare DeWalt 20v tools, but decided to try Enegitech batteries, since they were so much less expensive. After more than a year, I'm sold on generic batteries, so save your money. Shop carefully, though; prices are all over the map. They are 5.0Ah batteries, and although I usually stick with the smaller DeWalt 2.0Ah that came with my kit (they're lighter so the driver is a little more balanced that way and much easier for smaller people to use), if I don't have a charged 2.0Ah ready, I just pop in the 5.0Ah and it runs forever. For my usage, I almost always keep the driver set on the middle power setting: 2. When set on 1, it doesn't have enough power to drive most screws for me, but if I need precision, it's a good way to get a screw started. However, after some experience, I find I can handle everything I need to do on 2. A bigger lag bolt might require 3, but not often. On 3, it's too easy to drive the screw halfway through the board if you're not careful. 2 is perfect for most of my requirements. Having a magnetic attachment is handy to hold your screws. I haven't found one I love yet. But for driving screws, I can't recommend this highly enough. You will love it! I strongly advise spending a bit more on this brushless one over the brush versions. More powerful and longer lasting.

So where to begin? I was considering buying a nearly $400 Husqvarna gas chainsaw. I’ve taken down 75 trees in my yard of varying thickness with a friends 16” and 20” saws. So about after 50, I decided to buy this little guy for the remainder, with intent of using it for cutting limbs and branches. Cue my friend getting forced to work overtime like crazy. So I started to experiment with this saw to cut down the remaining trees. Now I still had some thicker ones that would definitely test this saw, being it’s only 12”. But wow. Super impressed. The saw had plenty of power to slice through not only the branches, but I literally sawed about 15-20 trees down with this and fully cut them up. Oak, Maple, Pine, Sassafras. No problems. Had to change the chain once during this due to dulling but it was a lot of cutting. All I have to saw is wow is this convenient! First it’s light. Very easy maneuvering and one hand cutting is super easy when necessary. Powerful enough to cut through trees bigger than 12”. Though a bigger saw would be easier, duh. But it’s nice to know it’s capable. Most importantly, the battery life. I haven’t been more impressed with a battery powered anything in my life. These batteries power this saw for a long time and I’ve only needed to change the battery once during the day while cutting up multiple trees. It’s a small saw but you could use this all day without too much exertion. Quiet and perfect for thinner trees and branches but won’t disappoint you if you need to cut thicker trees. It does use some oil so make sure you have some. Amazing tool. Would give it 10 stars if I could. I ended up buying the Dewalt 20v weed trimmer, pole saw, and hedge trimmer as well. Very impressed with the battery life and quality.

This skill saw is a great addition to DeWalts 20V Max line of tools. My first reaction after using this skill saw for a while, was just WOW, this thing is Amazing!!! The motor they use is smooth as silk, and powerful. I was hoping to wait till DeWalt incorporated there brushless motor into this skill saw. But I needed it, so I bought it. Man am I happy I did, I really LOVE this skill saw! This is a superb saw! It has all of the features and power of a Top Quality corded skill saw, and it's light weight, with the 4Ah & 5Ah batteries, it does the work of a heavy duty skill saw. I've been in construction since 1980, and have used most all light and heavy duty power tools. This Skill Saw ranks among the best I've used, in cordless saws. Just remember your blade choice is the most important factor in how effective this saw will perform. Please see my blade recommendation below. Others have commented on it's longevity with there batteries (1.5Ah & 2Ah batteries), regarding they drain fast. The smaller DeWalt batteries are going to drain faster. This skill saw is powerful, and puts a heavy load on the batteries. With this saw, you need the High Capacity 4Ah & 5Ah batteries (model 204 & 205) . This saw will work with any and all of DeWalts 20V Max batteries, but the lower capacity batteries aren't recommended. I only use DeWalts 4.0Ah and 5.0Ah batteries, and with those, I can use this skill saw all day long, with 1 battery lasting most of the day, and usually all of the day.

I bought this framing nailer to build some 2x4 walls in the basement, a platform and storage shed in the backyard, and some other projects such as quickly repairing rail fencing, etc. It performs very well - shooting 3 1/2" common and galvanized nails nicely. I don't really use bump mode much, as I like to position my nails pretty precisely. It's an expensive tool that I really can't justify financially for only home use - but I really like not having to have a compressor to power it, and to be free of the power cord, hoses, etc. This brushless nailer runs for a LONG time on a single charge of the 4 amp battery, and I have multiple batteries.

I do note this is not a verified company as of yet due to it not being claimed, still credit is due to the company. My reason for a perfect star rating is simple, I was gifted the DeWalt XR 2 x 1.5Ah Li-ion Cordless Combi drill & impact driver by my Grandad, the product was clearly already well used and I know my Grandad had it for at least a year. I have almost had them for a year and never had any faults and they are super reliable especially for basic users for around the house DIY jobs. I would highly recommend for those with basic DIY needs. The power of the impact driver is by far my favourite thing about the set.

I am very happy with the performance of this DeWalt angle grinder. The user manual leaves a lot to be desired, though. However, most of the set up and operation is common sense (at least I felt that way). I used it to strip paint from a house foundation, and it worked very well. I want to emphasize that it's critical that the user wear appropriate safety gear: eye protection (safety googles) and proper respiratory protection (use a face mask that matches the possible particulate contamination that will become airborne and surrounds the user). Very happy to include this angle grinder in my DIY toolset. 4.75+ stars.

You have to hold the trigger to get rapid fire or pull the trigger once for each nail. It will nail as fast as you want it to. I built 6 offices for my wife’s company. The gun worked great. The hanger could be longer though and more ridged. Easily adjust your nail depth. Very happy with it.

I used the sander to refinish a maple table. I found the sander easy to use and effective. The dust collection is just okay. It will collect a good deal of dust, however there will still be dust everywhere. I used this inside of an apartment and my partner nicknamed me "little Chernobyl", after basically coating our apartment in dust. I don't think you can really avoid that though. Dust is small and is hard to contain.

Added this 12” chainsaw to my DeWalt collection earlier this year and finally had enough time to put it through its paces. Had a large (11” diameter) branch from a hackberry fall in a storm, and this thing helped me buck it up into firewood length for splitting without skipping a beat. Surprisingly powerful and lightweight. A good 5 Ah battery balances the weight in the hand. Light enough to hold at odd angles for best cuts. Is it a big 2 stroke logging saw? Not close. But the best electric saw I’ve used and great for the average home owner

This Dewalt DWE402 replaces a cheap Chinese 4" grinder that is about to die on me, but you cannot compare these two! This is a pretty amazing tool for the price (often well under $100). Buy it even if you don't think you need it! You won't be disappointed. It's a bit more bulky than a 4" grinder, and it also has a tremendous starting torque which tends to twist it in your hands when you first hit the trigger. Also, the trigger lock is a bit clumsy with gloves. So I dropped it one star in Maneuverability. But having too much torque is hardly a "flaw".

The gun works great. People with bad reviews are complainers because they are comparing this gun to an Pneumatic nailer. This gun works great for framing. I own 3 and I have a jamb here and there but not really a problem. The biggest reason why people are having so many jams is because they aren’t using the correct nails. You have to use dewalts nails. Which in my area, home depo nor Lowe’s carries them. So I order them a head of time from amazon. That’s the draw back if your on a jobsite and run out. If you can find a store that carries the specified dewalt nails your in luck. Don’t use paslode nails. They will jam almost every time. They must be slightly bigger then dewalts nails. So pros, great gun, 20v. No gas needed, no maintenance (so far) and works faster then a paslode. Key is to make sure your patient with the nailer and let the motor rev all the way or the nail will either jam or not shoot properly. Bump option works fine. Once your used to it. Just need to learn the tool. Real easy to clear jams. I don’t know why people are complaining about taking so long. And of course it’s a big possibility of a jamb when you hit a knot. Cons, purchasing dewalt nails not readily available. Makes a lot of sense Home Depot sells this gun but not the nails. Real smart.

Well, as a former woodworker, it has been about 10 years since I’ve built anything, but The wife had a need for kitchen table, and with my sander in storage, I picked up this little number. I am currently without workshop space, so I opted to get the sander with the optional carrying bag, which is REALLY nice and keeping the house clean since sanders are the worst offenders for being messy. The bag itself isn’t all that, but it’s great at containing the mess and giving you a space to put the sandpaper.

This is my second Dewalt grinder, first one lasted for 10 years. Having a steel sailboat, I put my grinder to heavy use, cutting and grinding steel plates...the main advantage of the new grinder is the design change of replacing grinding wheels/cutting disks with an Allen wrench instead of wrench. Moving the guard doesn't require any tool and the grinder is much more powerful. Been using for 9 months and no problem whatsoever.

The saw is fine, it’s just that the Amazon listing states in the details that it is the brushless version of the saw and it is NOT. So watch out to order the model you actually want. The saw itself works good. We have a lot more from dewalt and like the batteries. It just works. We just used it for a few cuts for a shelf and cabinet and that went well. So we have no experience how it would hold up under a “production” environment. For hobbyists it seems to do its job.

I own a Stihl 036 as my big felling and bucking saw, and it's what I will still use for trees and logs larger than 10" diameter. However, I've always liked to keep a second, smaller chain saw around for limbing, bucking small logs, and the lighter weight. Over the years, I owned top-handle (i.e.- pruning/arborist) models from Stihl (their 019) and Efco. While this saw is not technically a top handle, it has the balance and light weight to be used for amateur arborist purposes, while also being useful for making cuts on the ground (note, however, that this saw does not have a lanyard loop like any professional, top-handle arborist saw would). I paid cash/regular Amazon price for my saw, and am not being compensated for this review in any way.

I chose this saw for trail cleaning work over some others because it was lighter weight. I was not disappointed. It is easy to carry and has cut everything I want to cut (up to about 7-8" diameter). I am not cutting for hours on end, but going out and clearing downed trees (so limbing/bucking about 5 trees at a time), and the battery hasn't ever died on me. I do carry an extra battery which was the point of getting a light weight saw to be able to carry both easily. Some people have looked down on my little battery operated chainsaw until they try it out for themselves. Everyone who has used it has liked it. It's not going to handle big trees or plunge cutting, but with the light weight and easy to use, its a great second saw to carry for limbing and save (your arms and) the gas saw for the bigger stuff.

I'm very pleased with this nail gun. I did a lot of on-line and in-store reviewing/research before buying this gun. I wanted to go DeWalt as I have mostly DeWalt battery powered tools. However, I was willing to go with another brand if I saw a price/value/quality/function difference. I finally settled on this nail gun and am very pleased. It is easy to use, hasn't jammed on me yet (I'm using DeWalt 3" and 2.5" nails so far), and it sets the nails pretty much as the manufacturer describes. The only issue I"ve had with nails not setting flush or further is when I get "lazy" and don't hold the gun firmly against the wood. I'm not enamored with the plastic nose piece that is placed over the end of the gun when you want to protect the wood from the "sawtooth" end, as it seems to occasionally interfere with the gun "charging" and firing. Probably operator error until I get more experience with it. Overall so far, I'm glad I bought it.

Well now Dewalt is Dewalt, ain't it. Good shipping, good saw, got here fast and undamaged, all parts accounted for. Saws through whatever I've given it so far. My older son used it (with supervision) with no problem so easy for beginning carpenters too. Get the googles and level 5 gloves with it too. A little more expense but you won't be sorry.
