General Motors Appliance Repair

General Motors Company is an American multinational automotive manufacturing company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, United States. It was founded by William C. Durant on September 16, 1908, as a holding company, and the present entity was established in 2009 after its restructuring.

Automobile Repair

General Motors manufactures cars that owners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy autos require occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of General Motors Auto repair from experienced professionals, your local Auto Helper can help.

Heater Core Issues
Heater Core Internal Passages: the heater core is like a miniature radiator built into the dashboard. it gathers heat from the warm coolant that circulates through it. but its narrow passages can become clogged from dust particles or other contaminants that can build when the coolant doesn’t get replaced or the cooling system doesn’t get flushed for a long time.
Solution: your mechanic can try flushing the heater core’s passages. if this doesn’t fix it, a replacement heater core may be needed.
Heater Core Exterior: the heat-radiating fins on the outside of your heater core could also be clogged with debris that makes its way in from the outside air intake at the base of the windshield. this can affect the heater’s output.
Solution: if you can access the heater core, try cleaning the debris from the fins and the air intake passages.

Heater Valve Issues
Heater Valves: these valves control the heat output of the heater core. they can be mechanical or vacuum-operated (like a rotary knob that you turn) or electronic (in electronic climate control systems with specific temperature settings). a valve that is stuck in the closed position will prevent heat from entering the cabin.
Solution For Manual Valves: the mechanical or vacuum-operated variety can usually be repaired, with any defective components replaced.
Solution For Electronic Valves: the electronic systems are more complicated, as they are usually integrated with the air conditioning system. some troubleshooting by your mechanic can isolate the cause, which can be mechanical or electrical.

Blower Fan Issues
Blower Fan: if your heater’s blower fan isn’t working, you won’t get much heat from the heater core to circulate into your vehicle.
Solution: This can be as simple as a blown fuse, it could be a wiring issue, or the blower fan could need replacement. you can check to see if the fuse is blown and replace it, but your mechanic will likely need to intervene if it’s more complicated than that.

How to Know if Your Engine is Overheating
• an overheating vehicle may display one or more of the following symptoms:
• a temperature gauge that is reading higher than normal and into the red
• an illuminated check engine light and/or engine temperature warning light
• white or black smoke from the exhaust pipe when accelerating
• the air conditioning stops working
• poor fuel mileage may be experienced
• contaminants in the coolant reservoir
• coolant escaping from the coolant reservoir due to boiling over

Coolant Leak
Your vehicle cooling system's objective is to maintain an optimal operating temperature for the engine. it achieves this by circulating coolant through the engine where it absorbs heat, then the coolant is delivered to the radiator where the heat is removed from the coolant. when the system has a leak and the coolant level drops too low, it will be unable to remove heat from the engine, and it will start to overheat.

Bad Radiator Fan
The radiator fan sits in front of the engine and helps cool hot coolant in the radiator before it returns to the engine to help keep it at a safe temperature while operating. when this fan stops working correctly, the radiator will lose its ability to cool the engine and the vehicle can quickly overheat. this will tend to occur more often while driving in traffic and not at higher speeds. In most cases, the solution to this problem will require a radiator fan motor replacement or replace the radiator fan itself.

Failed Thermostat
An engine coolant thermostat controls engine temperature by blocking coolant flow to the radiator until the engine reaches a predetermined temperature. because of this, the engine can first warm-up efficiently, and then begin to maintain a safe operating temperature once the thermostat opens and allows coolant to circulate. when a thermostat fails, it can either stick open or closed. in both cases, you may find that the heater doesn't blow warm air into the passenger compartment. A thermostat that is stuck open makes it difficult for the engine to warm up and can cause it to run colder than normal.

I had 49,500 miles in my Chevy Silverado and had a catastrophic engine failure. A lifter collapsed and damaged the camshaft when I took off from a streetlight. No engine should fail with less than 50,000 miles on it. GM offered to pay 10% of the repair costs which is inadequate given this engine is obviously a lemon and is unreliable from the factory. Taking a several thousand dollar loss and going back to Toyota. I should have never strayed from Toyota. Because GM does not stand behind their defective engine, I also sold my Tahoe and purchase a Tacoma. I was also able to convince a family member to not purchase a Corvette. I will also work to convince as many people as I can to not purchase a GM product.

I have a 2014 Chev Sonic, all 4 wheels are rusted, I went to the GM dealer and he told me that it was poor quality metal because they were made in Korea. Needed to contact GM. After 2 weeks of no news, I contacted GM customer service. They would check into it, 3 weeks later they told me there was no warranty but the dealer would paint them. The dealer said we would order the paint. That was in late June. They have still not contacted me. I went back last week to the dealer because the top center of the rubber steering wheel is worn smooth, not cover and no explication as why. I worked for GM dealers for 37 years and have seen a lot that was passed under warranty that should not have. The car is under 3 years old and less than 50,000 kilometers. I was a GM man all my life but that is over now. Never again.

After 83,000 miles on my Hummer 3 the head went out. The head has the same issue I was told by the dealer that the recalled 5 cylinder canyon head was having when GM recalled it. The cost for repair was $2705. GM made me believe that they would help me out but after the bill was paid 3 days later I received a phone call informing me that they would not help in this matter. At the GM dealer they did say that a head should not go bad after 83,0000 and thought the main office would do something. Just goes to show you why I will never buy GM the rest of my life and will make sure as many people as I know will know of this issue.

I am an owner of a 2013 Cadillac XTS. This vehicle is the third Cadillac car/truck I have owned. I am reaching out to you regarding case **. Ive leased the car in November of 2012, during this time I have had a serious safety issue and major concern. The brakes have failed on 4 different times. I have taken it to the shop, different reasonings why, but no complete/real answer. At this time I do not feel safe and confident driving the vehicle. The dealership which has it now, doesnt want to keep the car, stating it may not sell after. I am trying to get in contact with the sale manager at Crown Cadillac in Watchung NJ. As I will guess they would want me to take the vehicle to New Jersey to turn in, not sure what difference it would make. As stated the car isnt safe for my family, myself and possibly causing a crash on the road. After a week, they reached back to me, stating there is nothing they can or will do for me and have a nice day. Customer service for a loyal buyer, I think not. I will never purchase and/or lease a Cadillac vehicle again.

I bought this truck at Hampton Chevy. I went there to get it fixed on October 10, 2021, it is February 23, 2022, now and the problem has not been resolved. Ive been there over four times and they are completely stumped, one mechanics looked at me as if I should have bought me a Ford. At this time, I would agree. I have a iPhone 12 which cannot connect to my truck and the mechanic and the GMC representative are telling me its my phone but the same phone can connect to another Silverado same year and my brother phone which is the same model as my phone cannot connect to my truck. Under the same breath they say its my phone fault but dont recognize that two iPhone 12 cannot connect to that Silverado and the same 2 hour phone 12 cant connect to another Silverado. And now they basically are asking me to accept the condition of the truck 2020 truck because they dont know what to do to fix it.

I purchased a 2013 Chevy avalanche. It has less than 12,000 miles on it. The frame has a rust issue. The wax dipped, undercoating is coming off. There has been a tsb issued by GM about this issue. I took it to my local dealer over 7 weeks ago. I have been around and around. I have also called GM consumer affairs several times. They are useless. The regional rep looked at pictures of my truck taken by the body shop manager at Harry Green Chevy. They called me and said they had a solution to bring my truck in on a Monday. I did and waited for a week, drove by dealer the following Sunday. I found my truck out behind the dealer unlocked and NO work had been done. They were suppose to dismantle the entire truck and powder coat the frame. The body shop manager said regional manager oked the work. After finally talking to the regional guy, I found the body shop manager was lying. I was told my truck would be fixed. But they did not know how or when. I was told they would call me on Monday. That was over a week and a half ago. I have heard nothing. The rust is so severe I do not feel safe in the truck. I do not want to put my family or my employees in the truck for the fear of failure. I expressed this concern to the body shop manager and regional manager Rich **, he said it was safe even though he had never seen my truck - only pictures of it. I need resolution ASAP. I told ** I need a vehicle to drive until he decides what the solution is. Because my family does not feel safe in the truck. He laughed and he refused the rental. How I was on the phone with ** and talking to the body shop manager. The conversation was getting heated. The owner of the dealership Mr Green was in the same room. Never asked what the issue was, how he help nothing. He was talking to contractor doing remodeling. He was even trying to talk over our conversation. This dealership does not represent GM very well. I have called the service manager 5 times, still have never heard a thing from him in the last 6 weeks. I have even went to dealer three time to talk to him - he is never around. His name Byrd. I need this issue resolved. I need a rental or a dealer loaner until they find a solution. Or just pay me the sticker price for my truck, I will go else where. Please respond.

Sum it up, I traded in my 08 Infiniti. Purchased a certified used 2015 Cadillac XTS 33,000 miles. Lets just say 2 years later, 62,320 I have spent OVER $9,200!!! Both headlights and ballast, taillight = $3675, then while on a family road trip, the rear compressor decided to give up with no warning! Dropping the back of the car basically to the ground while going 70 miles an hour! Then the same week had to replace the front struts and mounts?? Not even including all of the nuisance system updates all over 150 bucks!! Come to find out my neighbor had the same problems but traded his! These cars are beautiful but they cut corners in quality!! Hence why you dont see any CT6s on the road and why Cadillacs product is deteriorating every year! Wish I would have known before my nightmare!

So I hit a deer in Illinois (I live in New York) on November 12th and it took forever to get my parts. GM customer service had no time frame as to when my parts would be delivered. Finally my parts arrived January 3rd and my truck was completed January 6th. The whole time while we were waiting on parts customer care told me they would pay for the duration of the rental, well that was a complete lie. State Farm only covered 30 days of my rental and GM customer care said they would cover 35$ up to 30 days. I said, Great. It would cover most of the cost of the rental. They then call me a week after and tell me, We are ready to cut you a check but we are only paying up to January 6th because thats when your truck was finished. Now remember I live in New York, have a job and had to wait til I could drive back to get the truck. I explain this to them. They tell me they will get back to me with a answer. Few days later they get back to me and tell me, Sorry but we can only pay to January 6th. This made no sense at all as I explained you never called me to tell me I had to return the truck by a certain date and I had to travel from New York to Illinois. This all could of been avoided if they could of just got my parts on time but now I have to pay around 500$ or more out of my pocket. I am now going to sell my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali pickup and never buy another GM product after this. To top it off GM has recalls and a major one is you lose brakes. So far its happen to me twice luckily Im not a idiot and caught it in time before I would crash. I turned truck off and back on and it went away. But all in all Im pissed and sure am not dealing with GM anymore.

In October of 2016 the engine light came on, and it was discovered to have been caused by the mass airflow system. I had this part replaced but within a few days the light was on again. I brought the car back to the shop and the part was replaced a second time. Upon test drive, the light again came back on. A third part was ordered and replaced. When the light came on for the fourth time, my mechanic ran through the wiring system but did not find anything out of the ordinary. He ran checks on the gas pedal and various other sensors. He then deduced that the problem was not with any of the sensors, nor any of the mechanical systems in the vehicle. He thought it might be the ECM, but advised me to bring the car to Central Chevrolet to have them look deeper into the issue. The Astra was taken to Central Chevrolet, where they subsequently ran diagnostics and discovered that the ECM was, in fact, bad. I inquired about purchasing an ECM from a parts site that I will not name, but was informed that GM would be unable to or would not program the computer unless it was an OEM part. At this point, my hands were tied. I would have to spend $700 on the part if I wanted my car to run properly again. I bit the bullet and told them to go ahead and move forward with the repair.Central Chevrolet received the part and assigned one of their GM technicians to begin the programming. As the process neared completion, the ECM was bricked. A second ECM was purchased and a second, more qualified GM tech was assigned to do the programming. He was on the phone with either a TAC or TISS representative I cant recall which and together they went through the programming process step by step. Again, the programming failed toward the end and bricked the part. It was not until after this second part failed that GM decided to inform the service department at Central Chevrolet that the pre-2009 Saturn software for this part is no longer available. So here I am now, six months after the engine light first came on and at least six weeks without my vehicle. As I was without the car for several days here and there for troubleshooting between October and March, the inconvenience is even greater. How can GM just let software go away for a car that is not even ten years old? Its software, its not like its taking up a bunch of space in a warehouse somewhere. Additionally, how does GM sell a part to a repair shop TWICE without advising that the software required to make it work no longer exists? And then to wait until AFTER the second part bricks?I called GMs customer service line and spoke with Joe, who sent me to Shaneva. Shaneva informed me that she would call Central Chevrolet for more details, and that I would have to wait 24-72 hours before receiving an update. The call came at the 72nd hour. When Shaneva informed me that in lieu of a resolution, I was being offered an Owners Loyalty Certification, I asked to be directed to a supervisor. I was told my call would be returned within 24-48 hours. I received no response within that time frame, and I actually had to call back again.I have since retrieved my car from Central Chevrolet. It is now in much worse condition than it was when I brought it in, and the vehicle is simply not safe to drive. I expected the original issue to still be a problem. I did NOT expect to be left with a car that I can no longer drive AT ALL! I have been a GM customer/vehicle owner for over 20 years, and I have never had a problem, until now. I am extremely disappointed in the way this situation has been unfolding. When I purchase a car, I expect it to get old and to need repairs. I also expect to have the choice of whether to make those repairs. In this situation, not only do I have no choice, but GM has the gall to offer me an Owners Loyalty Certificate with the expectation that I would purchase another GM product.

I have an 2014 XTS Cadillac with 54000 miles. The transmission gave out with such low mileage. My warranty had expired 10 days prior to this happening. My mechanic bought a new transmission from GM dealership and was programmed by GM Representative. I called GM headquarters seeking for at least to help pay for the transmission not the labor since I realize it was installed by third party. I spoke with senior representatives, directors of customer service and even customer service to resolve issue when I complained to Better Business Services. They did not care that the car had only 54000 miles. They refused to even pay a portion of it. I will never buy a GM car! Nor will anyone in the my family. They showed such disservice to GM customer. What transmission gives out 54000 miles. Never again GM. I will only make displeasing comments about GM.

At the beginning of 2015 at 121,000 miles on my Traverse it was diagnosed with timing chain issues. A couple of weeks (end of Jan 2015) later I received a letter from Chevy extending the warranty on the timing chain (mind you the letter was dated for Nov 2014) to 120,000. However because I was 1,000 miles over the warranty there was nothing they would do for me. Repairs would start at $3,000. After calling GM on a few occasions still there is nothing they will do. Then there comes more warranty extensions for Throttle Position Sensor that is part of the Throttle Body again pass the allowable miles.I am at a loss how a company can have know about these issues for years then when knowing that most of these 2009 vehicles are probably past the mileage warranties they extend warranties to prevent a recall. As of right now my 2009 Chevy Traverse is now a $32,000 paperweight. The catastrophic break down of the timing chain has happened. Looking for some remedy for a mutual satisfaction my auto technician has told me that with all the issues that motor has (which GM has been aware of for sometime now) it is not worth putting that kind of money and work into it and suggests a used motor as the more reasonable remedy.

I purchased a 2013 GMC Terrain. It had 74000 miles on it when I bought it. 50000 miles later I have spent 2500 dollars on it. Hub replacement, wheel sensor replacement, leaking gasket causing strong fuel odor in the vehicle. Now, to top it all off I have an oil consumption issue. Its using a quart every thousand miles. When the oil gets low no warning lights come on. The dealer says it will be a minimum 3000 dollars to fix and very its very possible the motor would have to be replaced. I have 2 friends that own Chevy or GMC SUVs and they have had the same issue. GM is not the quality it used to be. Dont buy it.

Ive had my (purchased brand new in 2016) 2015 GMC Sierra held hostage at the local dealership for a total of 38 days so far while GMC makes up their mind to replace or completely rebuild the transmission. The decision has been made to rebuild so I can expect it to be in at least another couple weeks while parts are ordered. Huge inconvenience for my family as we had to cancel a family vacation which required the truck to tow our travel trailer. So far the truck has had 4-5 recalls and warranty replacement of the A/C unit and a radiator. The dealership Shop Manager told me GMC does not care about their customers if they can save themselves a few dollars. This will be the last GM product myself and my business will be purchasing. Go with Toyota if you want a quality product and service. I should never have made the switch. Shame on you GMC...

Buyers beware. I have a 2012 Silverado 3500 Dually with 6.6 motor. Had many issues with this motor but the big one was at 150,000 miles it busted the crank. Yes I said the CRANK BUSTED. I was covered for 120,000 but this was a factory problem but GM would not cover this at all. This cost me 10,000 to put a new motor in. All I pulled with this truck once a month I pulled a RV to LA. So looks like my next truck will be a Dodge.

I have a 2011 Terrain with the best gas mileage, 26 driving at 60 mph. I drive 120 miles a day to work and back, speed limit 55 mph and I have 63,000 miles on the car. On May 1st, I parked the car at work and when I went move it again, it would not go into gear. I had to get a tow truck and take it to the GMC dealership. They said they didnt have any loaners and I had no way of getting home. So, I found a car rental (only place in town) and all they had was a Chrysler van so I took it. The dealership said it was a bad transmission and replaced it on May 4. When I picked up my car, I asked about covering the cost of the rental. They asked what type of car I rented. I said Chrysler and they said it had to be another GMC. At that time, when they didnt have a loaner, nobody said you had to rent another GMC. When I got the car home, I noticed I had transmission fluid on the floor, so I had to take it back again on May 7 (no car for the weekend). They said they forgot the seal kit and were able to repair it the same day. On 7-20, coming to work, the transmission started to sound funny. Halfway to work, it would go into 1st gear. I had to drive to the dealership doing 35 mph, late for work. I did get a loaner car this time. Out of all the new cars I have bought (Chryslers), I have never had transmission problems and now I have two bad transmissions. Whats the chance of that? This vehicle is costing me time and money. I bought a new vehicle so I wouldnt have these problems. The company I work for supplies parts for this vehicle and you demand 0 defects. Im not sure why you would treat your customer this way!

I bought the car used with only 7000 miles on it in May of 2010. This car is a 2010 Chevrolet HHR. This car has been a NIGHTMARE to own. It has been the most expensive car to date that I have ever had to repair. Right out of the gate, the car had turn signal issues where it would not shut off. They repaired. Then it was the front wheel bearings which ironically they do not consider to be part of the Drive Train Warranty so I replaced both of these out of pocket. The car immediately afterwards required 2 new rear shocks at 40 thousand miles and then the front struts replaced again out of pocket at 45 thousand.Front discs needed replaced because they put in soft metal for the brake discs. Driving down the road, the car was fine, get to a red light and the car start sputtering and jumping and acting like it was going to die. Take it in and the dealership tells me that the codes state that they have to replace all the cam shaft sensors in the car since they have no way to diagnose which one is going bad and it was going to cost me 600 to do the work with 4 hours labor. Went online and lo and behold there is a video on just this issue and how to fix it. I bought the parts for $152.00 and 20 minutes under the hood closed it and started my car, Voila fixed. Why was it 600 dollars to fix with 4 hours labor when a peon like me can do it in 20 minutes. I can tell you why GM has to pay for the RECALLS somehow. I then one day went out to my car started it up and heard a loud bang and then the front end started jumping up and down. The cooling fan came on when I turned on the AC and broke a blade off. Again the dealership wanted almost 500.00 dollars to replace. Went to the trusted internet and there is the repair on video. Bought the cooling fan for 70 bucks and 1 hour of my time later, I had the old one out and new one in. The power window switches have gone out. The speakers on the radio come in and out whenever they want to work. Next thing that went out on, the car the Fuel Lines. Drove home and smelled gas, kept smelling it off and on for several weeks before it finally became evident that it was happening as it was running down my carport and eating the paint off the drive. I told the dealership and guess what? DING DING DING, 780 dollars to repair, not trusting myself with this repair. I contacted my mechanic that quoted me 360 dollars to fix and told me yep, just had another one of those cars in here for the same thing with the same car. He stated that Chevrolet is aware of this and has put out a bulletin on it. Really, you have these cars going down the road as a potential fireball and all you do is put out a bulletin. Just got the car back from GM last night with a repair bill of 1,707 dollars. The car on Saturday 12/12/15 started off with the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) light went off and the front end started groaning and vibrating, I got the car off the highway and shut it off, waited about 15 minutes and started it back up. No Light on so I decided I need to turn around and go home. The check engine light came on and the car lost power and at 60 going down the highway, was running at 5 thousand RPM.I finally limped into the driveway and do research and there are THOUSANDS of these complaints. I take it to GM Dealership with the codes that it was throwing. They call me later that day. The transmission solenoids had gone out and that the wiring harness inside the transmission had start a small leak inside it which most likely was the reason it shorted out the solenoids again. This took them dropping the transmission out of the car and replacing all this. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting the way GM is, they do not care about you or that car you bought. You are a sucker when you buy their product. Now we have not even touched the recalls. This car has gone through 3 ignition switches and a Power Steering motor and an Air Bag recall (not Takata related) they just exploded on their own.I have filed complaint after complaint after complaint to GM to only have them ignored for 2 years. What got them jumping was a complaint to The Better Business Bureau. I spoke to Mary at GM Disputes and took them 4 days to decide that they wanted to give me $1,500 dollar Gift Cert for a New GM Car she called it a Customer Loyalty Certificate. Told her that was very unacceptable that there was no Customer Loyalty when GM Shows no loyalty to their customers. I will see what I can do by contacting a lawyer. This car is the WORST thing to come from Detroit and that is to include the Studabaker because Im sure as ** would take a Studebaker over this car.

I have a 2018 Chevy Traverse High Country and underneath the wheel fender skirt below happens to be a cheap fiber material that is starting to come down on the fifth day that I drove this vehicle and it will become a road hazard issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Which I think in my professional opinion it should have been a hard plastic that repels and prevents water intrusion and moisture from getting in the engine area department etc. Also for the tow hitch you have to remove the plastic panel in order to install a tow hitch that completely exposes the structure of the bumper which it looks awful. It should be a trim nicely around the tow hitch. Also you dont get any TVs nor USB MP3 configuration, the navigation is not accurate.

The cabin heat controls dont work properly, a fuel filter and sensor has to be removed for service periodically, and be replaced. The radio wont pick up stations, as well as my 1999 F350, and when my wife took it to Deters in Atlantic, Iowa, she was treated rudely. From reading the complaints of others, I dont believe I am interested in another GM product! It doesnt sound like you take care of your complaints. I will be buying a new 1 ton crew cab diesel pickup in 2012, but it doesnt look like Ill even consider GM.

In May 2019 my son purchased a New 2019 1500 Silverado Trail Boss. He graduated college, got a great job and needed a pickup. He actually purchased the truck 1 month before he graduated because of Chevy Truck Month. Last month we noticed that light passed through the bed of the truck into the wheel well. Looking into the wheel well we saw a 3 split in the wheel well that went through the bed liner. We took it to the dealership and they suggested a patch to weld the steel of the truck and a patch for the factory bedliner because General Motors will not do anything else under warranty. A 6 month old Truck with 8,000 miles that he paid $48k has a defect and General Motors will patch it. Patch the wheel well, the bed and the bedliner?I called General Motors after a complaint/claim was filed and spoke to, a Senior Advisor of Customer assistance. She claimed even though they came to that resolution they have no idea how the body shop is going to fix it, they dont know how or even if they are going to fix the bed liner. I was told nobody at customer service knows anything about the construction of the vehicle because they do not have the technical training for that. I asked to give me to someone who did have that technical training to answer my questions regarding the bed material, the patch if its a weld, etc and I was told there is no one that could help me. I was also told there was no management above the Senior Advisor, my response was you dont have a boss to which she replied, yes I have a boss so I asked to speak with him/her and apparently her boss, the head of the customer assistance branch of General Motors does not talk to customers. The Senior Advisor said GM only will replace the bed if it has multiple defects. When I said It is going to look like it has been patched and then this was the last straw she actually said Well, like I told your son if it doesnt look good, he could replace the truck bed and pay for it on his own. THE TRUCK WAS $48,000, IT IS 6 MONTHS OLD, HAS 8,000 MILES AND GM SUGGESTS THE CUSTOMER SHOULD PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT OF A GENERAL MOTORS DEFECT?? At the end of the conversation GMs final resolution was a patch and that the work would be under warranty for 12 month and if it didnt look like new the customer could pay for the replacement. My questions are: 1. What about the bed and wheel well that have be exposed to rain since it was manufactured will there be corrosion? 2. What about the fact that he now has a less than Excellent Carfax report showing body work making the car less valuable to sell or trade in? 3. What about he has a patched bedliner and sheet steel weld patch on a New truck? Are they going to cover any problems stemming from this fix?4. Why would it ever be acceptable for your a Senior Advisor in customer service to suggest more than once that if the patch for a factory defect decreases value or negatively affects the aesthetics of the new vehicle then the customer could pay for it.I have owned 10 General Motors vehicles in my life some trucks, some cars, suv. I guarantee you I will NEVER buy another GM product, my kids and family will never buy a gm product, I am disgusted they will not stand behind their product or the quality of their product. We asked GM replace the bed not the vehicle and they wont even replace the FACTORY installed liner. General Motors is a disgrace to Made in the USA products.

It would seem that General Motors doesn’t understand customer satisfactio
It would seem that General Motors doesn’t understand customer satisfaction. Before today, if you would ever ask me what car to buy, I would always recommend a GM vehicle. It will be long time before I do that again. Through my local dealer I ordered a part 2 weeks ago, for which they took my money to order it, the part has shipped to one of the GM warehouses, who doesn’t seem to have any urgency to release to the dealer from which I purchased it.Even the dealer has no luck requesting the release of the part and GM customer service says I have to work through the dealer to get the part released because once it has shipped from GM, GM is no longer responsible for it, even though, according to my local dealer, this warehouse 75 is the GM centralized distribution center. I am now waiting on a supervisor from GM customer service to call me back. 24 to 48 hours although in the meantime I am stuck driving on a cracked GM rim that could go out at any time. Being a GM owner all my adult life, this has me frustrated and has developed a true regret in standing by GM all these years. General Motors, you have lost a long term supporter.

I am having transmission acceleration problems that no mechanics or machine can diagnose. They can tell by driving the car, but cant come with a solution. Just keep telling that I have to wait for the check engine to come. But that could be too late and costly. The thought of waiting to be stranded on the highway is scary. I dont know what to do or trust at this point.

I bought a 2013 Silverado used from Westside Chevy in Katy, TX... After having it several months, the coating on the center spokes of the steering wheel started coming off. The dash cracked on the passenger side of the airbag in 3 places. The white paint is peeling off the roof showing grey primer. Here is the reports from the Service Depts. I was told to have them look at it... The coating on the steering wheel is coming off due to oil in my hands. The dash cracked because of Armor All and my driving habits (I DONT USE ARMOR ALL AND I DONT GO OFF ROAD. HAHA. IM 70 YEARS OLD AND DONT DRIVE MUCH)... The paint coming off the roof was caused by an OUTSIDE SOURCE... they wouldnt say what outside source was. The body guy that looked at its paint said he was in it to make money which told me right then he wasnt going to repair it. Worst customer service I have ever seen!!!

I own a 2013 GMC Terrain. The car was part of a lawsuit against GM for excessive oil consumption. My car was 4qt low on oil, NO oil light ever came on. The car now needs $2,500 in repairs and GM is refusing to pay for it although the lawsuit states they are responsible for it and are to pay for it! Myself and my family have always driven GM vehicles. I’m the last one in the family left driving one and now I know why. They do not stand behind their products and do not support their customers. Customer service from GM just keeps say, We are working on this. Give us two days and we’ll call you. It’s been 3weeks!!! I’m paying for a rental out of my pocket and making a car payment. GM is useless. DO NOT BUY ONE!

My Escalade was in the shop almost 2 weeks and GM refuses to try to make the situation right. The thing that blows my mind is 4 months earlier my wife purchases a brand new Cadillac CT6 and less than having the car 2 weeks the sunroof motor completely goes out. Car was in the shop 1.5 weeks again. GM was no help and does not care about pleasing their customers. I highly advise anyone to stay away from GM vehicles. They are not reliable and GM will not be there for you after the sale.

The car has 90,000 miles and the AC wasnt working - just on the side note we live in Wisconsin and we use AC 3 months out of the year. After check up we were told that the motor in a front fan needed to be replaced. After we paid $300 for that the AC still wasnt working, so we took it back to the shop and we were told that there is a leak in the AC system which will cost $650 to get it fixed!!! 2 weeks later the cars engine breaks down. We contacted General Motors and we were told that the warranty has expired and they cant do anything for us!!! Can someone please advise me what can be done for the General Motor to step up their game and take responsibility for this crap???

Own 3 Chevy Sonics. 2014 I bought mine, loved it so much we bought our 2 children one each in 11/16. In Jan of this year (2018) our sons car burnt up while it was parked and ignition was off for at least an hour. No modifications were made to this car. Fire department, and insurance company both said that the fire started under the hood. We called GM immediately. It took over 3 1/2 months for GM to even send anyone to look at it and it was after the insurance company had to threaten them. I went back to dealership, and was told that the car was still under factory warranty and they should have investigated it as soon as it happened. The GM investigator that did speak to me was rude and told me (3 months after the fire), I am sure the car has been scrapped for metal by now...which it had not been. He also said Well we dont know that the car catching on fire was fault due to the motor...and I replied You wouldnt know cause you sent no one out. On April 3, 2018 I emailed our insurance company and they said that GM would have a decision in 2 weeks. I have requested a status regularly and it has been 7 months with no response as in no call, email or letter from GM. All I asked was that they stand by their warranty. I understand that to GM this is a game of corporate bullying. They have no interest in providing a valid service to their customers. Their mission statement We at GM make a strong commitment to our customers, employees, partners, and other important stakeholders. They continue to promote that they are guided by five principles including Safety and Quality first...Create Lifelong Customers. GM has demonstrated to me that they do not stand by their product or their mission. GMs only mission is to serve themselves at the expense of their customers. I will never buy a GM vehicle again.

They are refusing to cover the other series of 2.4 engines that are experiencing the same issues with the explanation that they have not seen this issue in the engines not listed. In Oct 2013, my wife and I purchased a new 2013 Sonic sedan. A few months later it developed a creaking noise in the steering at low speeds as well as a scrunching noise in the rear when sitting in the car each time. The dealer tried unsuccessfully to fix it on several occasions in which the car spent about 6 weeks at the dealership. They swapped out parts from other cars, replaced new parts; all unsuccessful. After owning the car for 6 months I had had enough so I traded it on a 2014 Sonic (what a mistake). The scrunching noise in the rear started soon after. But as winter set in 7 months after buying it, the creaking noise started in the newest car. Again the dealer attempted to fix it, telling me it was cured. But when I picked up the car the noise was still present. Again this car spent several weeks at the dealership - finally my car was dropped back off for the last time; creaking still there. GM customer service had been following the issue. I called the dealership and GM, told them the noise was still there. A few weeks went by and today GM call center called and explained that they could not fix the issue and that the creaking noise was a normal characteristic of the car and they would no longer try to fix this issue. I have never been so frustrated.

Updated on 02/01/2020: I didnt get the car back until Dec due to the strike. I filed a claim with GM and requested either a new car or reimbursement. They refused to give me a new car and agreed to the reimbursement. They are only willing to reimburse me 2 car payments but had my car for a total of 3 months. Ive had to provide statements from my finance company and personal bank statements to show proof that I made those car payments just so they can reimburse me. Talk about feeling like a valued customer! Me paying my car note has nothing to do with me being inconvenienced over a product that I bought from YOU! They are telling me the dealership has to process my reimbursement because it will move a lot faster, however I got my car back mid December, it is almost February and I am still dealing with this and havent received anything! I am very dissatisfied with GMs customer service and the way they treat their customers! I will never purchase another GM car and I definitely wont be referring any one to either! I have a cousin who experienced some of the same issues with Dodge and her experience was smooth sailing! Original Review: I purchased a 2019 Chevy Camaro in June 2019 due to a car accident and my previous car being totaled which was a Dodge (Challenger). I had the Camaro for 90 days then had to put it in the shop due to safety issues! Passenger Airbag broken! This is a brand new car in which I should not be experiencing these type of problems. My car has been in the shop for almost 2 months now due to GM being on strike and the part to fix my car has not been available and no one can tell me when. I was told GM would not give me a new car but would compensate me once the problem is fixed! **! Im having to pay a car note for a BRAND NEW CAR that I cant even enjoy! VERY UPSETTING! Im totally dissatisfied with GM and I wish I never purchased this car! Shouldve just stuck with DODGE!

My 2011 Traverse has had many service issues and been unreliable. The local dealer has had an unhelpful and cavalier attitude at best. I have had warranty work 4 times and a recall once in 3 years 9 months. It is in its 3rd water pump. I have 85,000 km on the vehicle (52,000 miles). I asked the agent if he used an upgraded water pump since they were prone to failure. He said he did not know and that they were not prone to failure. (It is all over the internet - they leak from the shaft seal. Both mine did. It is unreasonable to expect to have to replace it every 2 years).I have lost many (uncompensated) days use of this vehicle waiting for warranty work. (The last time the pump went on June 26 & the dealer would not even look at it till July 6. I was vehicleless the entire time. The dealer does not provide a replacement until after they confirm warranty work is needed but then do not look to confirm such for many days). The first time I was vehicleless it was for several days too but I cannot confirm for how many. I have had other issues and now I am just frustrated.

Sad... to say the least... my family like many working paycheck to paycheck. I took our Truck a 2011 in for a tapping sound in engine. It was driving just fine. That made all kind of false claims. 1st aftermarket parts in engine they could not prove. 2nd they claimed that a engine treatment I had a year ago broke my piston. My Truck only way I have to get to work. They told me I needed a new engine rebuilt one for $5,000 or a new one for $12,000. They said the aftermarket parts and engine treatment I had voided the warranty. My Truck was towed from their location to a Auto Center where I had an auto expert look at my Truck. He stated they destroyed my engine. I ask him if he would sign a affidavit. He did. Stating that this dealership destroyed my engine and did other damage. I have a GM case number. My guy has all the affidavits to question anyone about this issues. I have spoken to him once in three weeks. Emailed and scanned and Faxed documents and instruments. No answer, no help... keep waiting... keep waiting... rent a car $800 a month plus keeping truck payment current is killing us. Cant last much longer. Single dad need help...

I have seriously dangerous electrical issues since I purchased this 2018 Equinox. GM claim they dont have a fix for the electrical issues. When I lift my foot off brake several sensors come on as well as door locks unlock and relock. The vehicle jerk forward or rolls backwards when foot is removed from brake. I have no choice but drive it as it is my only source of transportation. Lemon law attorneys are only concerned about getting their fee and GM offer to buy back with drastic deductions for depreciation for a few thousand dollars when my car loan was 25,000 plus thousands still owed. I have bought 2 Chevy Cobalts and I will never buy another one in my life. First one I bought was about 3 years ago. I was on my way back from GA and a semi hit me and I spun out on the highway and totaled my car. Well my airbags did not deploy. No big deal. No one was hurt. I called Chevy to let them know that the airbags did not deploy. I heard nothing back from them. I bought my 2nd Chevy Cobalt in May. I let my niece drive my car and she pulled out in front of a car going 50 mph. Car spun out hit another car. GUESS WHAT. The airbags did not deploy... Everyone that was in the car was treated at the hospital. Called Chevy and reported it. LOL. Guess what they said the airbags will only deploy if they are hit head on. WOW really. So because the car was hit on the side and the back of the car, the airbags did not deploy. Getting hit at 50 mph should have deployed the airbag. But my claim DENIED because they were not hit head on. Thank God that they were not hit head on because I probably would not have my niece, son, nephew or grandbaby. I will NEVER buy a Chevy nor will any of my friend and family. What a joke this company is.

This is my first SUV and I have only had it for about a month. It rides nice. There is a lot of room in there and I like being able to sit up high. Its comfortable and the seats have lumbar support. Tale of woe with my Chevy Silverado. If you dont want to read this entire tale of woe then let me sum it up here. Your Chevy truck may rust out to the point of being pulled off the road because of rust in as little as 84,000 miles making it a loss for resale or trade in. Ive had a Chevrolet Silverado since 2003. I purchased it new. It is an automatic V8 Z71. The off road sport model. This story isnt about the multitude of issues that it has had regarding brakes, brake lines, rotors, wheel hubs, and bearings. No, thats another story. Back in 2003 I worked out a price, with trade in of about $23,000. Since then, and as of this writing 2014, Ive put in about $7000 of non-maintenance work and parts into it. Yes, its going on 11 years old now but its only got 84,000 miles on it and it pretty much looks near new from about ten feet away. The other day I took it to my service station for an oil change and inspection. It seems that the frame is rusted out so much that an inspection sticker is impossible. The recommendation is to get rid of it as repair of the frame would be expensive as the rust is widespread and affects cross members that are pivot points. So, Im stuck with a truck that looks great on the outside but has a rusted frame that makes it junk status in a trade-in and unsellable privately as its not inspected. The vehicle has what I figure as half of its mileage. Id expect to get at least 160,000 miles instead of the 84,000 it currently has. Why? Because even though I do live in the snow belt in Maine where road salt is used, I have a Tahoe that is 14 years old, has 164,000 miles on it (double the mileage), has been driven in the same area and housed in the same garage and has a frame that has a few years left in it.I called GM. All Ill say is that I got a case number and promise of being called back. That never happened. I called and got another case number as there was no record of the first with the promise of a call back. That didnt happen. I took it to a chevy dealer, on my own, who lifted it and documented the issue. They called GM and I was promised a call from them. That didnt happen. I called again. My case number was classified as issue resolved. My last tussle with GM was a flat youre over warranty so theres nothing we can do. Two weeks to get that final answer. So what was I hoping for? A deal on a new vehicle? Some repair funding? An apology? Anything would have been okay. In looking for a new truck last week I did find out that Toyota had a horrendous frame rusting issue in some trucks from 2001-2004. What did they do about it? Up until 2012 they volunteered owners of these vehicles a new frame installed at Toyotas expense or 150% blue book value of the vehicle. Thousands of truck owners were contacted and restitution was made. What about after 2012? They will still come to some restitution on a case by case basis as long as you own the vehicle. So, a warning. If youve got a GM vehicle and have been happy with it like I have with my older tahoe, well thats wonderful. But, the next GM vehicle you purchase could be great or it could be a disaster that will drain your bank account and cause you to have to purchase a new vehicle before youre ready. With GM, its a crap shoot.Other notes: Notice driving/headlights out on cars as they pass. Most are GM. (my truck loses them all the time). Look for used trucks on Craigslist. You’ll see a bunch. 2/3 of them a Chevys. When I see someone in a parking lot with a Silverado truck that is about the same year as mine I ask about it. I hear the same tale of woe.

The vehicle has been in FIVE TIMES for various electrical issues including brake system failures (x3), and most recently the vehicle shut off while I was traveling +60mph. I fear for my safety. See attached invoice photos. Their staff sees you as a number - a price tag. Their “Customer Experience Manager” did not even look at me, he talked over me, and downright refused to help me - would not even give me the customer service phone number. We were able to return the part and exchange for a new one with the original dealership. I asked that dealership about getting our expense on having to replace the oil pump and the diagnostics testing ($850) refunded. I was told the dealership would not issue any refund on that and to contact GM. They have used several excuses from wrong oil filter installed even though according to websites it was the right one, to low oil even though it was fine until the incident and then started leaking oil on way to dealer on a flatbed. It is now 11/15/21. More than 3 months and my car is sitting at the dealership and we are yet to hear from GMAC. We have sent them a certified letter, when we call we leave voicemails and cannot get ahold of anyone. The dealership told us the tube to the turbo melted but would not say if that caused the engine issue. They offered to replace it at a cost to us but said may not fix the issue. Sounds like a flaw to me but GMAC is not recognizing this or covering under their warranty. How can a 3.5 year old car engine blow when we maintained it and was driven with care. I cannot believe that we are having this much trouble for a company to stand behind their product. Not only is the dealership doing nothing but GMAC doesnt seem to want to do anything either. I work two jobs and have had to rely on friends and family to borrow cars as they could not even provide a loaner car to me. I am still paying payments and insurance on a vehicle that has been sitting on a dealers lot still waiting to be diagnosed because they are not looking into it since they cant seem to get it covered under the warranty. What is wrong with this world with businesses not standing behind their products and doing the right thing. We come from a long list of Chevy/gmac owned vehicles from a 41 chevy coupe to a 2020 Gmac Denali and numerous in between and never ever have had an issue like this. I simply cannot believe it, but it is causing us to rethink about buy Chevy/gmac. I know I read reviews and I hope that this may help someone else in the future when considering to buy a Chevy/gmac be careful cause they may not stand behind their product. As for me, I will be continuing my fight for them to do whats right and fix my car.

I purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze in February of 2012 with 15 miles on it and have had it on the garage 3 times for major repairs. The first being a thermostat and seals on the coolant lines. Then had to have all the coolant seals replaced after it overheated again. All of this happened before the first 30000 miles. Most recently my check engine light came on so I took it in and found that a wire for the valve intake to the emission system had broken. All of this on a car barely 3 years old. Contacted GM with my concerns and was told that they would contact the dealership so that the dealership or GM would cover a portion of the repair expense. Was contacted 2 days later by dealership. They said it wasnt their problem that they did their part and would forward my concerns back to GM since my problem was with the car not the service I was given. Was contacted by GM the following day to be told that GM would not be covering anything because I was said to be bad mouthing GM by saying there was a problem with the car they made. How is stating that GM sold me a car that has been nothing but problems bad mouthing anyone. I was stating facts. I bought a new car to avoid these problems and got more than I could have imagined. GM you should take more concern in your customer satisfaction. At this point in time if I could I would trade in this car and never purchase a GM product again. Your company has done nothing to take care of my concerns or problems. All that has been done is a personal attack on me as a customer with your claims of bad mouthing. So now customers cannot speak negative of a product for fear of your company deciding to not help them. I will tell everyone I know what terrible service I received from GM.

I called the customer service line for General Motors, to inquire about financial assistance with my 2003 GMC Savanna 2500 cargo van. I advised the customer service represenative Stephanie that the van was a 2003 with 47,000 miles and i had bought it from a private individual approximately 4 weeks earlier. I advised her that i was driving it and it sounded like something broke in the engine. She advised me i would need to take it to a GM dealer to have it diagnosed, and they would then see if they could provide me some type of finicial assistance. I payed to have my vehicle towed to nearby Chevrolet dealership, where it sat for a week before being looked at. The service manager then advised me they would need authorization either from me or GM, to tear it down, to determine the exact problem. I told the service Manager i would not be able to afford that added expense, not knowing if GM would provide any finicial assistance in their final determination. The next call i received was from Stephanie at GM customer service, she proceeded to advise me that GM would not be able to provide me any finicial assistance, due to the fact that the van was a 2003 and that i had not purchased it from a GM dealer. I then requested a answer as too why she did tell me this during our initial conversation, seeing how she was privy to that information during our first conversation. She did not give me a answer to that question, only replying she was sorry.

I own a 09 Saturn Vue and have been pretty happy with it till now. My Saturn seems to be having transmission problems, the gears keep getting stuck which causing the engine light to come but after a day or two it goes away on its own. I experienced this problem now twice. Found a letter from Saturn stating some models had a fractured wave plate which would cause tranny to slip gears, low 3rd or 4th gear etc. I took my car to GM to drop-off service. Advisor tells me I would pay 120 if it wasnt the wave plate. I get a call today stating they need me to authorize a 1600 charge for them taking apart my transmission which it could be under warranty or it could be not. Long story short I would not authorize that since I was never told that when I first came in. The manager was arguing with my boyfriend and I left with my Saturn Vue being untouched. They didnt even care that my car could possibly have that issue and they would have to honor that at no charge. So they try to get money another way. Sneaky GM. Its sad they wont even look at the car thats a Product of their GM motors. Horrible!

On June 2, 2016 an engine light came on as we were on the on ramp proceeding to the highway. Immediately our engine losing power light came on. My husband managed to get the vehicle safely off the road. The vehicle shut down and would not restart. It was towed to ORegans on Robie Street where it was diagnosed with fuel injectors that exploded thereby causing major issues. The vehicle had 118,000 km and the warranty expired at 110,000. Had the car repaired, $2500.00 later! I asked if the car had been test driven, the reply was no when it was the check engine light came back on. Now it needed rear sensors. That same evening the check engine light came back on so back to ORegans. Now the timing chain was gone!!! So another $2700.00.No one from ORegans or GM would extend the warrant. There will never be another GM product in our driveway their attitude with customers is, Oh well we can offer you $2500 off a brand new car. Ha they have to be kidding. After doing research and speaking with a couple of mechanics I find out GM knew they had injectors issues and timing chain issues which they are saying, Oh we never heard of any issues regarding the injectors or timing chain. I have been in touch with the local media and Yvonne Colbert has sent me a recall which I am going to try one more time with GM to see if we can come to a resolve on this issue. I know they have a good will warranty. Wish me luck!!!

We purchased a new GMC Terrain Auto 2011 and a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze in November 2011. We had trouble with 2011 GMC Terrain, 6 speed transmission, not shifting properly and getting only 24mpg on the highway and 22 around town. This was reported to GM Head Quarters in February 2012 and GM complaint people called me several times, but they tried to convince me that I expected too much. I told them all I wanted was to have the 6 speed transmission shift properly, and then I would probably get better mileage. The service department at Fox Chevrolet in Negaunee, Michigan tried it out and they insisted that there was nothing wrong. They said I was probably trying to compare my GMC Terrain with my 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, which shifted real good and got 39mpg on highway and 34mpg around town all the time. They also told me that after I put another 5,000 miles on my GMC Terrain, it would probably be better. We now have over 14,000 miles on it and I am complaining once again. The main reason is gas is so expensive and GM advertises 30mpg on highway and about 26 to 28mpg in town. So my complaint is false advertising, on the part of GM. So, I am requesting that you correct this problem. Thank you. Also, I have been a GM customer for over 25 years.

PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN PURCHASING A 2020 GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCT. GM has no available parts to fix them, should you have an accident or something breaks. My 2020 GMC Terrain has been sitting in an auto body repair shop waiting on a rear left door since June 1st of 2020. My rental car insurance coverage has met the policy maximum as of June 26th, and now Im having to pay an additional $200 a Week for a rental, while my car sits waiting on a GM part. Their response to me was we have no parts available with no date of when parts will be available. I was informed by the repair shop it could be next week it could be 6 months, could be a year from now. GM is unable to provide a date when they expect to manufacture parts. GM is costing $800 of my monthly net income and has provided no customer service of any type. Ive called GM directly with no response other than the parts are on backorder. Ive filed a Customer Complaint with GM and with the Federal Trade Commission. - Hope this helps save someone a good deal of expense and aggravation. Thank you and take care.

I own a 2 year old Buick Envision. I heard a noise coming from under the vehicle at only 7k miles. The dealership and GM continually told me nothing was wrong. I did not give up. It took months but they finally determined there was a loose baffle in the exhaust. They finally replaced the exhaust. Dealing with them was extremely difficult. Very recently when leaving for vacation with bikes mounted on the back of the vehicle the car battery was dead. Nothing was left on and the vehicle is supposed to be protected from accessories remaining on and draining the battery. Again, GM is not standing behind the vehicle. The dealerships have prepared or canned answers for everything as to avoid making good on the warranty. As a professional buyer and car enthusiast I cannot recommend anyone buy a GM vehicle. You will not have the warranty you think you have and the vehicles experience more problems than other cars.

On October 13, 2014, I took my 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo to Harbor Chevrolet in Michigan City IN for the ignition recall. Sixteen days later on 29th of October, my car would not start. Key found, not turn. I had the car towed to Sauers Buick GMC in LaPorte IN. I was told the ignition needed to be replaced. $881.00 that cost. Car ran good, but in one week check engine light was back on. Took it back on the 10th of October. This time I was told that it was an emissions problem, and another $49 for a gas cap. I was assured this was the problem, even though I didnt think there was anything wrong with the gas cap. By the 14th, just 4 days later, the Check engine light is back on. I called and again was told to bring the car in. Returned and left car on October 24 for the afternoon. This time I am told its a vent valve leaking that is defective and this is going to cost over $300 dollars to fix. I declined this repair. Enough is enough already. I think each time I take the car in, they will keep finding something wrong...or making something wrong. I feel I am being taken for a ride in my own car, and its not a ride I am enjoying. This all started with that recall, and turned into a $900 ride. And they still want more. I doubt that there is a vent valve leak. I am sick of getting screwed. Highly doubtful I will be buying another GM car if this how they treat customers.

I am an upset customer and relative of an upset customer. My mother purchased a 2018 GMC Terrain in January 2018 and this car has had nothing but problems. On May 4th 2018 the car was taken to Jim Causley GMC for repairs which to us seems to be severe. The car stopped in the middle of a busy intersection and an error message came across the dashboard which read, This car is unsafe to drive, and the car stop working and was driving erratic. After the vehicle was towed back to Jim Causley GMC they kept the vehicle for approximately one week and I asked the service adviser the extent of the damage and he stated that he was informed by the service manager that he was not at liberty to disclose this information and they released the vehicle to me. I proceeded to drive the vehicle a few miles and the vehicle stopped on me in the middle of a busy intersection and once again I received the same error message which read that, This vehicle is unsafe to drive. I cannot believe that the technicians at Jim Causley GMC worked on this vehicle for a week and claimed that it was safe and road ready and yet again I am having the same mechanical issues.

The transmission on my 2010 Terrain failed at less than 52,000 miles and GMC has done nothing to help me. I have never heard of a transmission failing this early on a car that has been well maintained. When I initially brought it into my GMC dealer, all they were interested in was if I had an extended warranty (I did not) and told me if I needed a new trans, it would cost $ 6000 - $ 7000. Not being able to afford that and not being able to afford a new car, I took it to a local trans repair shop and had the trans rebuilt for $ 2750. When GMC was contacted after that to see if they would reimburse at least part of the cost, they told me they only work with their dealers and if I had gone to the dealer maybe they wouldve done something for me.Clearly they do not stand behind their products. Since they would be hard pressed to find anyone who would say it is normal for a trans to fail this early, that should be all they need to know and they should do what they can to make it right for the consumer. I am with others on this site who have stated they will never buy another GM/GMC product. The really sad part for me is I LOVED my Terrain, until it completely failed and I didnt.

Transmission began to malfunction after having the vehicle for one week. I went several months and Lumberton Chevy continuously refused to fix it. Finally they decided to fix the vehicle after me calling GM corporate office. GM called the dealership in Lumberton NC requesting that they pick my vehicle up for repair and they didnt! GM called roadside assistance and had my vehicle picked up. They kept my vehicle for two weeks and it took them a week to get me into a replacement vehicle. Im self employed and GM caused me to lose money. I asked to be reimbursed and they refused to reimburse me anything. I was told that they were going to pay my car payment for a few months, now they have refused to do anything. The district manager was supposed to call me in reference to the poor customer service that I have received and I have yet to hear from the district manager. I spoke to a lady by the name of Charisma on today and she stated that she was told that they would not allow me to trade the vehicle for another one neither are they willing to reimburse me for money that was lost during this time. There is no way that anyone could ever talk me into buying a GM vehicle. The customer service is past poor. They only care about themselves and how many cars they can sell. I have never ever experienced customer service like this. I traded my 2013 Fusion to get the traverse because I needed a third row vehicle, but at this point, I will be trading this poor excuse for a vehicle for a new Ford Explorer. I will never have anything to do with GM again. When you purchase a new vehicle, you expect to not have to worry about anything and if you do you expect to have excellent customer service. If you purchase a GM vehicle you will not get customer service. If you purchase a GM vehicle our just stuck!

We walked into one of the dealerships to check out the new Cadillacs and the new Chevys and have an idea about the cars. When I walked into the dealership, I sat in the back of one of their cars and when I tried to get out, I couldnt. After that, the sales person at the Cadillac dealership approached us and I was disgusted by her attitude. We talked about leasing an SRX and she told us she would like to get us into a 2013 SRX. The car that we brought in had less than 8,000 miles on it. She offered to appraise the vehicle, but to our surprise, she came back with a high lease payment with high down payment for a 2013 SRX even when all incentives and discounts were applied to it. I was even more disgusted by her and her attitude. After that, we left. Personally, I would never do business with a dealership like that, and you would think that we would be treated better given the fact that we have been loyal customers with GM for 21 years.

I filed an complaint with GM online for a problem I was just became aware of on my own. My check engine light went on several months ago and found out that it was flagging a problem with my Cam Shaft intake sensor. When my oil was checked they found out that I had NO OIL in my car. I was well under my 5000 miles due for an oil change and NEVER had a warning signal go on from my vehicle while the oil was burning low. It was confirmed that my car had NO leaks. So something else was causing my oil to burn. I went online to try to find other cases of this and found out that GM knows about this issue with my exact Model and year vehicle (2011 Chevy Equinox LT 2.4 liter 4 cyl) and as a result increased the coverage for this problem for these vehicles from 85000 miles to 120,000 miles. After speaking with the dealership and a manager at GM CAC, they said they could only cover 50% of $4048 needed to fix this problem. The fix for this KNOWN problem is to replace the pistons and rings and gasket, etc. A very invasive job. Which indicates to me this is a very serious problem. Unfortunately, my car is at 139,000 miles (all highway) and they said that this is the best they can do for me. They agreed that there was no other way for me to know my vehicle was burning oil unless someone checked it regularly. The car uses Dexos oil (a synthetic blend) known to have less cases of burning oil. I have made regular oil changes on time for the almost 6 years Ive owned my vehicle and all services including the 100,000 mile services were performed at the dealership. I have been diligent with all required maintenance and now GM / Chevrolet and saying there is nothing more they can do because I am over the 120,000 allowable coverage. When I filed the complaint I was at about 137,000 miles. They will make no exceptions for my case. Even after I am able to prove that ALL required maintenance has been performed on the vehicle. The Manager that I spoke with Craig was short and condescending with me. He said YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKING YOUR OIL ON A WEEKLY BASIS. Seriously? Who does that today and why should I if I am diligent on my vehicle care. I was insulted and extremely dissatisfied with the answer and support GM is offering for this very serious issue. I now have a vehicle that is damaged as a result of a known issue that GM did not deliver to any of the dealerships or to the consumers of these 2011 Equinox LTs.I had a much more pleasant experience with Nissan when I found out my daughters 2003 Nissan Altima had a problem with the ECM and it needed to be replaced. After I found that there was an issue with the ECM for that model year of Nissan Altima and brought it up to their attention and filed a case online with Nissan CAC, they agreed with the dealership to cover 90% of the $1400 cost to replace the ECM. The car was a 2003 with 92000 miles and well over the warranty period, but they still made good for us the customers since it was a previously known issue for that model year. If only GM, the company Ive been loyal to for over 30 years would have made the same consideration for me and my Equinox. Extremely disappointing and unfair to their consumers.

My 2012 Cruze that purchased in FL Dec 2011 had no cruise control. So I had the Dealer install it before the vehicle left the lot. Over a week ago my car started acting weird. It wouldnt go over 38 mph and it would show traction control - say the car was overheating and would go in Idle mode and said it needed to save power. Now I currently live in PA and took it to the closest dealer. The dealership told me that cruise control was installed improperly and needs to be removed because the wiring is spliced and it would cost me $214 with the diagnostic fee and the uninstallation. I was upset at this point because I didnt understand why I would have to pay to have something I paid to have put in uninstalled and I wont have it now? So I then contacted the dealership in FL to see if they would credit me back since the cruise control was put in improperly according to the dealership my car is at currently. From going back and forth and waiting for a call back, I finally got a call back to find out from the FL dealership that it was an aftermarket cruise control that was installed and that the module just needed to be changed and that’s it. So I called the dealership in PA and they said since it’s an aftermarket piece they didnt know that and there is nothing they can do. So I contacted GM and spoke to a rep Lauren there who I have been dealing with over a week to only get NOTHING resolved, and everyone just wants to play the he said she said game and not take responsibility for this and their employees not knowing what they are doing! I am upset and dont know what to do at this point. I am out of a cruise control and now have to pay for their mistake? This just doesnt seem right to me. I am still waiting on a call back from Lauren’s supervisor at GM customer service as well. This is my third car I purchased from this company and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I dont understand why a customer knows more information on this than their actual employees and now I have to pay for this?

If youre looking for a practical small SUV with decent fuel economy and plenty of usable space inside and comfortable ride. The 2017 Equinox is not a bad choice. Whether a long trip or a short trip around town. That being said. My experience owning this vehicle has been poor. In the short time that I have owned it. I have had to replace the power seat track and then back again 40k later to have the switch on the power seat replaced along with the fuse block. The front brakes dont last the expected average in normal driving conditions. Most recently I picked up on a issue the Equinox has had since the current version came out in 2010 and GM has never addressed it at the manufacturing level. The inner door seams on all four doors have rusted. Bulletin# 15136. Unfortunate I didnt notice the issue until 62 so paid out of pocket for repair. Outside of these issues there are other know issues that I have not experienced. And outside of regular maintenance and the issues I have mentioned. It is a good all around SUV that can be purchased at a more affordable price than most competitors. Also if safety is a concern. The equinox is one of the best at a 4 out of 5 stars. P.S. GM does not supports their product long term adequately enough.

I have been complaining about the same concerns to GMC customer assistance for months. I am not getting any assistance from the dealer and a customer “senior” case manager seems to forget our conversations EVERY TIME! I have been being pulled along for a ride regarding how important my business is and that they will have a resolution to either trade me out of my car with assistance or buy this lemon back. It is appalling how I am being treated right now after being patient for months and months and trying to work with a brand that I have been very loyal to, to receive zero action and all talk. I will be trading in my vehicle and leaving the brand after spending over 75k on a Denali and 60k on a Suburban brand new off the lot from a GMC dealer. All over poor customer service.

From the day we took delivery of this new Hummer H2, it has been nothing short of a nightmare of repairs. The roof seam leaked from day 1 and it took at least a dozen trips to the dealer to fix. The check engine light was next and 2 trips to the dealer fixed that, a new fuel filler neck assembly. Next the speedometer quit working and we had to drive the truck for a year with no idea what the speed was before the parts were available at the dealer to fix. At the same time, the ignition switch failed and was replaced with 1 trip to the dealer. After that the climate control system quit working correctly, blows heat out of one side and A/C out of the other when in the A/C mode. A part called an actuator fixed the passenger side but now the drivers side is blowing heat out like the passenger side. The climate control system has never worked right and never will. Theres nothing like a family summer vacation with the heat on in a $52,000 truck. We have had to just roll the windows down and suck it up until you get home. I have lost tens of thousands of dollars in lost work time taking this truck to be repaired. Would I buy another GM product? I would not take it if you gave it to me. I cant afford the time off work or the repair bills. This truck is a 2004 with 54,000 miles on it and is garage kept, never been off road. It still has the original tires on it and they are only about 70% worn. The customer service dept stated that GM would buy the truck back during the dozen roof repair attempts, but the amount they wanted to give us back should have been a criminal offense after what we paid for this truck.

Chevy Corsa 1.4i, vehicle not repaired properly - I bought a brand new vehicle. Three days later, I contacted the dealer and reported a faulty air con. I straightaway asked for a new car and was told that it has to be repaired and that it was the air con unit box in the dashboard. After a month and a half, I was told my car is ready for collection. On inspection, my fuse box cover was damaged and was replaced by a demo vehicle. The front of my bumper was damaged and had to go to the panel beaters for a re-spray after one of the workshop guys (unprofessional) try to touch it up with paint, causing more damage. After I received it back, I returned it within 24 hours complaining my left mirror cover is not lining up like the right hand side. One of the guys tried to repair it (not the same guy who assembled the job) after I received it back, they broke the right hand side leaving it out of its bracket and a big gap. I was told then, that I must return the vehicle in two weeks when the guy who assembled my car will be back from leave. When I try and put my car in reverse, the gears are scratching badly before it goes in. I feel that my car was not worked on by professional and my life is in danger with the gears scratching believing it might jam while I am driving or leave me stranded.

It has been 3 months since GM has classified our truck as a lemon, and still do not have a replacement truck. After complying with documents 3 times to Henry and getting little to no help we were turned over to Sean who has only been slightly better. If you ask to speak to his supervisor first he will then call you back, then today being told by Sean that he contacted the Dealership about ordering us a new truck, then checking with that dealership and being read the emails from Sean this was not the case. I was told that we had to find a like truck and send the VIN # which I have but the truck is sold by the time Sean gets around to replying to the emails I send. This whole experience has caused extreme hardship as I need the truck to tow our trailer to Houston for my Husbands cancer treatments and it has been a financial burden driving and paying for Hotels as well as compromising my Husbands health by staying in Hotels, etc. All we want is a truck to replace the Lemon Truck we have so I can keep my Husband safe in our own trailer.

Purchased used vehicle in 2015. 1 year later transmission failed (2008 Saturn Vue XR). Turns out to be 3-5-r waveplate. Part was not heat treated to spec in this year’s vehicle (faulty part). Should have been a recall for this problem. GM finally honored coverage of said repairs but only 120,000 miles or less. My vehicle had 123,000 miles when this happened. GM would not honor repairs even though the said faulty part was installed into transmission during assembly.

I wanted a taller vehicle and I like the 2003 GMC Envoy. I am tall and I really enjoy how easy it is to get in and out of. I also liked the price they were asking for it. I also favor GMC automobiles, I know they are dependable. This is the first SUV that have ever owned and I love it! I highly recommend this type of vehicle. I like the way it drives, the color and it isnt bad on gas. I also like the fact my heat blows hot as soon as I start my GMC. But I would make the leather seats heated. I have interior lights on floor in both front and back.

I purchased a used 2014 Chevy Captiva Sportage with about 37,000 miles less than 1 year ago. Paid 20K cash and now I regret it since it looks like I was sold a lemon. A month ago the key started sticking in the ACC position when attempting to shut the car off after driving. It would require constant shutting on and off of car or sitting it out in car for 1 or more hour praying that the key would turn to the off position in the ignition and not get stuck in the ACC position, which drains the battery. This continued during the WORST of times, at medical appointments, arriving home at night, dining out and July 4th weekend. With the key in the ignition, it meant car door could not be locked, could not get keys to go into my house or to the doctors office, etc. We lost our hotel reservations and money since the battery died after the key was stuck in the ignition for hours over the Independence Day weekend and the dealerships were close. After spending more than a week in the dealership and them troubleshooting the issue - with the keys sticking in the ignition some days and with it coming out some days, with difficulty, the dealership diagnosed the issues with the lock cylinder being damaged and requiring replacement to a tune of nearly $400. GM and dealership basically said, Tough luck - youre not covered by warranty.

GM customer service and appreciation is so poor, I’ll never again purchas
GM customer service and appreciation is so poor, I’ll never again purchase a GM product, after my husband and I have been loyal GM owners all our lives. On October 13th, we were in an unfortunate vehicle accident where my vehicle has been in the repair shop since October 17th. Since this time, parts for my vehicle repair are still in an “Unknown” status. The dealership escalated parts with GM as unavailable on October 31st, however after not being able to receive an ETA, I reached out to GM directly to escalate this concern on December 3rd. December 5th was able to speak to my case worker who reached out to the dealership on the same day. December 10th, I was finally provided an update from my case worker but only confirming all the details I already knew; My parts are unavailable, escalation has been file by dealership, and they would be sent when they are available (no ETA). The only detail he provided me that I wasn’t aware of was GM wasn’t the point of contact, my dealership was and there was nothing more GM could do. My case worker was unsympathetic in every conversation we’ve had, only re-iterating the whole country has been impacted by the GM strike. I then emailed the CEO of Chevrolet, Mary Barra, on December 10th, in which I received another case work. After patiently waiting, finally received a call December 15th from my new case worker. This one was worst than the last in regards to customer service. Saying the same thing as the last case worker about the GM strike and parts not available, only worse, she kept insisting my case first escalated on December 10th. I’m sure you can imagine how far my frustration had gone by this point. I requested to speak to her manager since it was obvious she was only performing the same actions as the last case worker, only more poorly. I was given a 24-48 hour turn around. Finally, December 22, got a call from her manager and again got nowhere, no update. Today is December 29 and GM still has no update on parts for my vehicle yet they are still pushing the same vehicles to production.

Leased a 2019 Colorado crew cab long box 4x4 on Dec 12, 2018. Fuel gauge has not worked properly since taking possession. Has been back to dealer 2 times now with no resolve. Truck has now developed a nasty rumbling sensation (like driving over rumble strips) at all speeds with it being more noticeable at 55 or above. Dealer states that this is due to the wrong transmission fluid being used in the 8 speed transmission but they (dealership) does not have the required tools to drain and replace fluid. Gas gauge issue is still not resolved. Requested a GM buyback of vehicle three weeks ago. (Truck has under 1000 miles on it) Have finally heard back from GM and they agree to buy back the truck. Now I have to figure out what to buy. Note: I also leased a 2019 Traverse LT for my wife the same day. I am thinking that these will be my last GM products.

I am writing this complaint as I am very disappointed the way my whole purchase and ownership experience. I feel that a profit motivation has ruled the decision making process and customer service non existent. Firstly at the purchase of our 2012 Chevrolet Cruz, one major significant item was not offered and when we became aware of this item we were told it was too late. Then on the first trip we hit a pothole and damaged two tires. No problem, we have warranty. But even the dealership gave us the vehicle with three tires with a maximum of 21 PSI 2 at 18. We paid for this as no one was responsible. We noticed on the side mirror at the outset what we perceived to be polish dust. Upon the initial washing we became aware that it was actually a defect. We drove to the dealership only to be told we will sort it out. However, after repeated complaints we were told it was never written down and you now are out of warranty. GM in their infinite wisdom agreed and refused to change them. Managers looking at the mirrors have said off the record that it is definitely a flaw, but I guess in this experience it will be up to us to solve it. Other items which were not on the warranty. Replace the brake disk and the pads at 30,000 KM (As a former Rally racer this is absurd). The air conditioning works poorly to say the least, even I had to pay to change to replace all the filters. There is a power surge from the gearbox at gear change - still unresolved but we are out of warranty.I worked at GM and this is something I never saw from a quality perspective. I am also a second generation GM owner as my father lived and breathed GM and owned GM cars for approximately fifty years. At this point Big Brother and its profits have lost a customer and I will never consider a GM product again. I can assure you I will expound my experiences to prospective buyers as well. I have never favored Lemon Laws but I now realise that they have a place and are needed to protect customers. Thank you for reading.

GM provides a full bumper to bumper warranty on their new cars as well as 2
GM provides a full bumper to bumper warranty on their new cars as well as 24-hour roadside assistance program if your car happens to break down. As a consumer you are entitled to a tow and transportation to your home, work, or dealer. As I read in my contract after buying a new car from GM. My new car unfortunately broke down in an extreme way at only 300 miles due to water pump failure and engine overheat. Naturally I cannot drive the car anymore and have to pull over to side of the road and call GM 24 roadside assistance. This breakdown is a bummer, but it happens. Overall the call goes well. I am told a tow truck is on its way as well as a cab to take me home. Sounds fine. Except none of this happens.I call again after over an hour. Apparently there is no record of the tow trucks being sent or the cab. They apologize and resubmit the requests for me. Okay, mistakes happen. Again I wait for a tow and cab, but they never come. I call a third time. Same issue. So my request is resubmitted. I wait again, nothing comes. Its getting near 10pm now. Real bummer for me. Eventually I get a tow truck though. No cab. Reason? Cab cant be located. Weird. I get a cab via my phone app shortly afterward. That was a fun 5 hours.Since my car wasnt picked up till after 10pm, dealers are closed and I could not be given a loaner car (which you are entitled to if your car breaks down under warranty) to take me to work the next day. This is fine though since I am told GM can provide transportation to either the dealer or my work the next morning. Next morning I call GM roadside assistance. They say they will get me a ride to work. They call back 30 minutes later, they cannot provide me a ride to work. I ask for a ride to the dealer. They say okay. They call back 45 minutes later and say they cannot get me a ride to the dealer. I call my local dealer rather than 24 roadside assistance - they come pick me up and provide me with a loaner. Guess I shouldnt rely on promised services from GM directly. Conclusion: GMs 24 roadside assistance has obligations that they failed to meet in my situation. I do not understand why. If something is promised, but not provided, there should be accountability. I have not the time or resources to hold GM accountable, but the fault does not vanish. If GM cannot execute on obligations then they should not be stated to the consumer when vehicle is being purchased. One main reason I purchased a new car was the security of a warranty and assistance from GM if poor car operation became an issue. The car issue happened unfortunately, but GM failed to rise to its promises.GMs problem: big on promises, poor on execution. It was cheaper to screw me then to make good on a promise of service. As one person, what can I reasonably do? How can I reasonably prove lack of service effort on GMs part? GM knows the average consumer has neither the time or awareness on how to stand up for themselves. Thanks GM, you swindled me good. Even after going through bankruptcy, which as I recall we citizens paid for, GM still stutters about on cost savings of value proposition. Thanks US government, you made us pay for it. Next time, let capitalism run its course.

I am contacting you in reference to my vehicle. Unfortunately the service manager William has showed and made it very clear he does not want to service my vehicle at all. He told me that he did not know 100% what was wrong with my car unless they tear it down and that his techs dont want to do that and he dont want to pay them to do it. I had took my car to a front end specialist and got a second opinion and they suggested struts and strut mounts. He told me that if my warranty cover my struts, he would have them changed and I was going to pay for the strut mounts to be put on, which he said would be an extra $56. He also stated I needed a timing belt which is going bad for the second time around. I know when I bring my vehicle in, the parts that I am told are bad are covered under my warranty. He told me my warranty denied my struts but when I called come to find out, they never mentioned the struts at all being needed to repair. He also made a big deal about my warranty not covering my timing belt and they do, its in black and white and plus I asked them myself. Well, he called my warranty and told them that I dont need any struts and there is nothing wrong with my timing belt so they could block my repairs and he did not have to pay the techs out his pocket to do the work. I always come there for service to my vehicle from oil changes I paid for on up. I have never had to fight and bicker to get my car serviced there before at all. This unprofessional matter and stunt he pulled was uncalled for, all he keeps doing is wanting me to come out my pocket for repairs. Why should I if I have a warranty to pay for the labor and repairs? He tells me if they pull my front end apart, I will have to pay the tech out my pocket to do it. I am past fed up with his attitude and unwillingness to repair my vehicle. On top of that, lying to my warranty company so they can block the repairs so I can pay for them myself and basically, his way to show me that he is not going to fix my car and he is not going to let his tech either. Timing belt is a major repair issue. This is my only mode of transportation and for him to lie about it so he want have to do anything to my car - WOW. I have never seen this type of service before at all. If I know my parts are not under warranty, I would not bring my car in to have techs fix it when I know they have to be paid. Plus, warranty cover labor and parts and all this service manager does is throw in my face about he not going to pay the techs and someone has to pay the techs and he not paying them out his pocket. Customer service should be this service manager main priority and not how much money you can spend for parts that are all ready under warranty, makes no sense at all. Stop throwing temper tantrums when its work that need to be done and you dont want to do it. Its part of your job to work and make sure the customer car does not leave the same way it came in, which mine has every time I took it in to be serviced. This is not the first time I have had to get my front end looked at. One time they charged my warranty people and come to find out when I got the car back same way it went in. No work was done to my vehicle at all. The tech admitted that he never changed anything on my car that he had another car like mine and did that work to it. This service department and service manager are very unprofessional and wants to take the easy way out of things. Then he told me that he can spray some lubrication on the parts and that will take care of the noise as well as how my main concern should not be the noise, it should be the oil leak that I have never seen in my drive way - which is more than likely from my cover gaskets I paid out my pocket to have changed.

After driving my 2010 Equinox purchased new for 18000 mi. with mostly highway driving at 55-60, the best I get is 22mpg. That is a far cry from the22/29 which was highly advertised for a 4 cylinder awd. It was the main selling point for me. The service manager at Richard Chev. told me that I will not see those numbers and he didnt know how they came up with them. After 45 yrs., this will be my last GM purchase. Bought a 2017 Silverado from Clark’s, after 8 month agonizing experience with a dealer who ran me around with excuses, charged me for repairs which had nothing to do with the flawed product they sold me, even though it was under warranty, which is a joke by the way. They kept telling me they didn’t know what was wrong with the vehicle and after many trips there basically told me it’s up to me and GM to solve. By all the reviews I’ve read about this treatment of their customers it sounds like it’s a trend. I wouldn’t recommend a GM product to anybody with this lack of concern about their customers or their product in which they do not stand behind. Id rate them a negative 5 stars.

I bought a 2010 Chevy Equinox in Feb, 2015. I was given a carfax and told, appears there are no serious issues or repairs. # mo. later had a 1,500 repair - GM picked up half as timing chain had an added extd warranty due to many failures. It was THEN I was told about MANY EXTD WARRANTY ISSUES BEING fixed before 80,000 on my car! Now at 114,000 I have complete trans. failure!! I was told Oh well. I didnt get the extended warranty at 104,000 when I bought it because I was assured the car had NO major issues. GM WILL DO NOTHING although there are HUNDREDS of complaints online about the 2010 transmission failing. The dealer wants 4,000 to fix it. It will be returned and repod as I cant pay for it, and I cant fix it. Thanks GM. CAR is a lemon from the word GO!! As many people who have a failed transmission on this car, there should be a RECALL or another extd warranty. I will go back to a foreign car! I will never own a GM again.

Four locks failing on the same vehicle has to be a quality issue that should be subject to a recall. I know other owners that are having the same issue with their door locks. This just seems like a quality problem that Chevy should recognize and address.

I purchased a brand new 2021 trailblazer in September 2020. While driving home from work November 20, 2020 my breaks, power steering, and stabilitrack went out all at the same time. Mind you, I am driving on a very busy street in Indianapolis also coming up on a very busy intersection. Luckily the left turn lane had no vehicle in it, but there was a red light and I could not stop. I looked both ways and braced myself for a horrible accident. Thankfully, I was able to get my vehicle turned and into a parking lot without getting hit or hitting anyone. I had to have my vehicle towed to Hubler Chevrolet (who took very good care of me). I did not purchase my vehicle from them. When I got home and checked the mail, there was a recall letter from GM stating there has been a recall on my vehicle due to the breaking system and the parts being contaminated. Also, due to the vehicle being so new, there were no parts yet available to fix the issue. I opened a case through GM and it was a struggle from then. Over a month for them to let me know that it was not a manufactures issue, but they would fix my vehicle at no cost to me due to the recall. Fast forward two months. Mind you, I still do not have my vehicle, yet I’m still paying on it. I receive a call from Hubler that the parts came in, but they are not programming with my vehicle. Two weeks later I received another call that more parts came in and those were not programming with my vehicle. I then called GM to initiate a buy back. About two weeks later Hubler called and stated my vehicle is now fixed and I could come pick it up. I receive a call today from GM stating they refused my buy back because my vehicle is now working properly. I am livid to say the least!

Got a 2017 GMC Sierra and the chrome wheels started peeling. Warranty had me give them 500.00 to replace the wheels which I did. Got new wheels on, got home from dealership and looked the wheels over. To say the least they looked like **. I could see sand scratches all through the chrome and pit marks everywhere. I took them back to the dealership the next day and they said there was nothing they could do. Fast forward a year and 7 days and the chrome is peeling, and the tires wont hold air. I took them to a tire shop and they pull me into the garage to show me that the chrome is peeling off and corroding underneath where the tire seals. Clearly these wheels were refurbished and not prepped correctly. I contacted GMC multiple times and since I was 7 days out of warranty there was nothing they could do. Needless to say, Ill never purchase another GMC product again. Its sad when you spend so much on these trucks that they wont replace something so simple and go back on the company that refurbished the wheels.

July 22, 2019, we (Fiance and I) purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado from Crew’s Chevrolet in North Charleston, SC. Within the first few week, we heard a constant thump coming from the rear of the cab. We took it in to the dealership not once, not twice but three times in order for the problem corrected. We were informed by the dealership that we could file a claim with GM so, we did. It has been a pain ever since. Once filing the claim with GM, we were assigned to a Senior Advisor. After a few conversations with the initial Senior Advisor, we found out they were no longer with the company and no one knew anything regarding the status of our claims. A week or so later, we received a phone call from another Senior Advisor, Tori, who was now assigned to our case. From here, I can’t even begin to describe the frustration I have felt. I have gone round for round with Tori regarding what to do, what’s going on and what to even think regarding our thumping with the truck. A civil engineer was sent to the dealership, a ton of sealant was applied and it is still thumping! (NO surprise there). Tori calls every 2 to 3 days to tell me that there is no update regarding our claim. There is an “Internal Resource Team” that apparently has not responded to her since the beginning of January. I have even called the service advisor at the local dealership and she seems to know more about our claim than the Senior Advisor assigned to our case. We are extremely frustrated and just want this to be over. We want our money back for the lemon that was manufactured by GM. We want to move on and not have to deal with the constant frustration with GM, Tori and the 2019 Chevy Silverado sitting in our yard. We have to make our payments while we do not feel safe driving this vehicle and have made that extremely clear. When will we get the answers?

Just wondering if anyone else who had this recall done ran into a situation where the low beam headlights had to be replaced at the owners expense. This situation is ridiculous. Let me first state the I accept partial blame for not taking my car in as soon as I received a recall notice. When my low beam lights went out I took my car to JohnBear to have the HDM recall addressed. I picked up my car after the recall work was done and went in to work for night shift.Leaving work the next day I found I had no low beam headlights and now no dash lights. Took it back to JohnBear where I was informed that both my low beam headlights had burnt out at the exact same time(?) and that had nothing to do with the recall(?). Ive dealt with a service rep at Buick (Sheri) that I must apologize to for letting my frustration get the better of me. I was charged $373.40 for two installed low beam headlights(?). In my mind and 3 or 4 mechanics I have spoken with this is excessive and should have either been tied to the recall or the original work performed at the dealership. Yet no one is taking responsibility.

Truck has 1400 miles on it and has been in twice for check engine light and the last time was for a backup camera that is all static at night time. I have been told by the dealership that there is no fix for the camera and that all of the Silverados are doing it. Pretty sad when youre told that a safety feature on a brand new vehicle has failed and there is no fix. Also not happy about my time being wasted by taking the vehicle to the dealer and being told nothing can be done. Now Im being told by GM that they are waiting for details from the dealership and the dealership is telling me theyre waiting on GM. What a joke. Very very unhappy customer.

Took my Silverado with 38000 miles with warranty ending less than 30 days prior to Ferman Chevrolet in Brandon Florida; air was not blowing cold and the AC compressor and smelled like it was burning. Took them two days to contact me back after several calls to them. Finally they tell me I had a leak in the hi pressure hose and it would cost $560.00. Then by the end of the next day I call them again “again no communication from them“ they tell me, -By the way- the compressor is bad too and it will now cost you $1580.00. So, at this point I tell them no way. Then I can’t believe my ears- the service guy tell me fine but you still owe us the $560.00 for the work you already approved. Wow (I won that battle). I googled GM issue with ac systems and omg it’s a known issue. There’s even a class action suit. So I call General Motors and the girl tries to contact Ferman Chevrolet and get no answer. A day later I call General Motors back and the girl tells me she has tried to call them seven times so she escalates the ticket to a senior advisor. It takes three days for the senior advisor to call me just to tell me “more or less” that there’s nothing they can do for me; it’s out of warranty. I finally had it fixed by an AC guy that was recommended to me by a friend. He found metal shavings throughout the entire system. For $1300 he has replace the entire system to make sure there was no parts that would have the metal shavings. I write this in hopes that something can be done for other customers with the same known issue.

I own a 2012 GMC Terrain that is covered by a GMPP. The vehicle is 5 years old and has 28K miles on it. I noticed some mold growing in the carpet. The cause turned out to be a broken drain tube in the sunroof. The GMPP is a bumper to bumper coverage not covering maintenance items or wearables. This part is neither, yet GM refuses to warrant the repair in any way. Anyone who purchases a GM product has rocks in their head. This is my last GM product.

Looked online for car prices, found new car at dealership (Pat O Briens). Salesman said car was $3500 more than online price, that GM only allows them to sell 1 a month at that price. They are liars. Called GM Customer Service who doesnt seem to care about image of being liars. Same old sale stuff as always, false advertisement to get you in - switch and bait.

I took my 2015 Chevrolet Colorado to South town Chevrolet, Newnan, GA, on Sept 2, 2021, for a recall item. I informed them about a light on the instrument panel. The dealership repaired the recall item. They informed me that my oil pressure pump or my engine needed to be replaced. The dealership recommended replacing the engine D2 replacing the oil pressure pump might not fix the problem. The replacement cost for the oil pressure pump it was $4,500 and engine was $7,500. The dealership did take $500 off the engine replacement cost.I then inquire why would my oil pressure pump or engine need to be replaced. My truck is (6) years old with only 116,000 miles. I was given no clear explanation at the dealership. So, I file a complaint with General Motors, still no clear explanation of why I would need to replace my oil pressure pump or engine. Ive been an avid GMC customer, no more. I will not recommend GMC vehicles to any buyers. I am disappointed with GMC and their products.

I purchased my vehicle in October, 2019. A couple months later, the vehicle experiences 4 recalls - 1 battery, 2 brake and 1 seat belt. After the dealer performed the recalls, the update broke several safety features such as front camera system, driver collision alerts, lane keep assist and whatever else. After attempting to fix the issue, they were unable to do so and escalated the case within GM. After GM was involved, the recommended solution was to replace the front camera system but the part was not in stock with no ETA of when it could be delivered. Over 20 days later, my brand new vehicle remains at the dealership unfixed due to the lack of a part. I escalated the issue with GM customer service and was assigned to someone named Victoria. Case #: **.After several exchanges with Victoria, nothing has been resolved. Victoria has assured me of several updates and working on the case, but has not been able to deliver for this vehicle. At this point, Ive explained my discomfort with the vehicle due to the variety of safety recalls and safety features that have gone awry. Ive explained I would like a comparable vehicle or a resolution that would restore my faith in a vehicle that seems to have had a bad run. Nothing has been done.
