Does anyone have a KitchenAid KDTM404KPS dishwasher? If so, please let me know what you think. My local appliance store has them on sale for $899, which seems like a good deal. I've heard nothing but good stuff about KitchenAid, but have never owned anything from them before.

Its an amazing dishwasher. Im a little bias because I recently retired from engineering at Whirlpool and worked on the team that designed it. The top rack is amazing. The 2 rotating spray tubes gets mugs, glasses, cups and small bowls clean. This opens up so much more space in the lower 2 racks.


To fit the top rack, the interior space was increased vertically. There are a couple of compromises. The space between the bottom rack and middle rack is a little less that other dishwashers. The middle rack is adjustable, so you can raise it up to give more space. You cant fit a large cookie sheet on edge in the bottom rack that might fit in other dishwashers. Same with some really large plates. This isnt a problem for me. Another small compromise, to get the extra room, the lower rack is closer to the floor than other models. When you put the door down and roll out the bottom rack, you are bending over a little more. Thats not a problem for me either, but I wanted to show that theres always compromises when designing something.


Theres not another dishwasher I would trade mine for. It can wash a lot of dishes and it does a great job cleaning them and its quiet.
