The stove stopped working, the control panel is dead and the door is locked. This has happened 2 times with no successful resolution. We were advised by Sears not to use self-cleaning function, it is very frustrating! There should definitely be a recall for this widely experienced problem.

Bought the Kitchen Aid French Door Counter Depth (Model KBFS20EVMS9) from Lowes in Feb. 2012, and the 4 year extended warranty. It just started leaking on the floor, had the drain tube replaced. Leaking stopped but freezer is STILL forming ice inside. And I have no water feature or ice cube maker so I dont understand what the deal is. Maybe just a shoddy product? Another service call is scheduled. I get a feeling this isnt the last of it. I may end up hiring two strong guys to haul it down to Benton Harbor Michigan and dump on their front doorstep.

The first one I bought was defective so KitchenAid replaced and installed it. Never have I had the dishes cleaned. I have had to replace the toolbar at the top and now its defective again. The last repairman assured me it was installed well and the water was hot, etc. After he left, the dishes are still dirty. I just gave up. This dishwasher is just a piece of junk with a big price. Im going back to GE Profile, at least my dishes were always clean. KitchenAid should not be allowed to get away with selling defective dishwashers. Worst dishwasher I have ever owned.

When I was a kid my mom loved KitchenAid but we bought a Bosch because the style we wanted. After it failed miserably I said we will purchase a KitchenAid. We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher in 2014. We Paid for installation also. With it we bought A warranty. After just over two years, the top rack of the dishwasher failed. The top rack will not slide out and weve found metal ball bearings in the dishwasher that we assume are from the side rails. So frustrating... This is standard use and it is crap. When I called to get it repaired I was told that this type of repair is not covered by the extended warranty and the estimate was 2/3rds. The cost of the dishwasher. I was talking to my mom and she told me Son they will take care of it... They didnt and I told her It is not the brand it used to be. The top rack finally completely broke and now we have a bottom rack only. We are so over it and so sad.

The valve that allows water to shut off in the dishwasher freezes open causing the water to flow out of the front of door and flood your floor. The first time I was standing there and thought the door may not have closed. About 4 months later I was not there and it flood the kitchen, into the hall and living room. Called Sears. They sent a repair guy. He saw the water did not turn off even when you opened the door of the dishwasher, he said these valves have a problem and sometimes it is intermittent. Sears tested the valve and of course it worked, so they said the water damage was not from that. So lesson learned take a video. So where else did the water come from? Spent $800 for a turn off valve for dishwasher under sink and plumber said no leaks. Need this valve because I do not trust this dishwasher, will be looking at Bosch.

Side by Side KSC24C8EYY01 - We put in a new counter depth KitchenAid refrigerator 3 1/2 years ago. The freezer recently stopped working for no apparent reason, then kicked back on after 24-36 hours. This has happened 4 times in less than 3 weeks. By the time the service man gets here to check it out, the freezer is back to working, and he cant find a problem. The 2nd time he called Whirlpool and went through an entire diagnostic testing and still found nothing. He thought the Whirlpool technician that he spoke to was not too bright, and actually rather rude and indifferent. The only recommendation they had was to replace the mother board for a cost of $800 - with no guarantee that replacing it will solve the problem - it was just a guess. The service man told us that he wouldnt buy a KitchenAid appliance for anything - their service department was difficult to work with and trying to get parts needed for repair can be a nightmare. We will NOT be repairing this refrigerator and we will NOT EVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance - EVER.

I called KitchenAid and contacted the repair guy. He came and said he needed to get parts. Week passed. Meanwhile, our contractor had come and fitted the refrigerator with the custom panels to match our new cabinets. Then the repair guy came with 1 of 2 possible bad parts, opened the box and part was broken. I found out from him that the other part - the main circuit board - was made by some factory in Japan that was wiped out by the tsunami. KitchenAid has no replacement parts for this board. If it is bad, it has to be pulled and sent back to KitchenAid to be repaired. However, repair guy said, We should replace the control panel board first and see if that does the trick.I called again to KitchenAid and had the part shipped to our home to expedite the repair - another week passed before we could get the repair guy back (we live in the country) and he opened the box (part number of the box was right) and said the part that was sent to us was for a stove. That was today. We have now been over a month with nothing but a mini-refrigerator - KitchenAid has been unresponsive and uninterested in helping us. We have now contacted both the place we bought this turkey from and have agreed to wait until Monday for the sales person to contact KitchenAid and see if he can get a replacement (which we are pretty much boxed into, as we have a big investment in the custom cabinet arrangement).Im SO disappointed and frustrated.

Our KitchenAid Wine Cooler is in its sixth year and stopped cooling this week. With most refrigeration this age you automatically assume it is just a premature leak of the Freon/coolant which is bad enough. However, the repairman (his trip cost $85 for the bad news) reported it was the evaporator that failed and the parts are already out of production/not available and therefore, the unit will have to be replaced. Whirlpool which owns KitchenAid confirmed the part is not available and that there was nothing they could do for us. Since we would have to replace it with another KitchenAid unit for reasons of fit and appearance, one would think they might do something monetarily for the consumer. Ironically last evening at a New Year Eves party we heard a very similar story involving a failed KitchenAid refrigerator that was only in its third warranty year. KitchenAid/Whirlpool should not be getting away with this fraud-- no consumer expects to junk a relatively new appliance because it breaks. When the class action lawsuit happens, Whirlpool will wish they had done right by their customers.

This is an update to my post here on 11/24/2011. KitchenAid dishwasher KUDE
This is an update to my post here on 11/24/2011. KitchenAid dishwasher KUDE70CVSS2, 1.5 years old, sanitized light was blinking at end of sanitize wash, i.e. water was not heated up high enough to sanitize the dishes. Finally, it was repaired today, 2/8/2012, almost 11 weeks since it broke. We had 8 service repair visits made by 4 technicians from 2 service repair companies. During this period, the printed circuit board was replaced twice. We were told our hot water supply was not hot enough by one technician who didnt come prepared with a thermometer. A different visit and technician with a thermometer measured it at 142 degrees, well above the 120 degrees the KitchenAid manual says is needed. We were told the problem was in our household wiring. That was a miscommunication between one service repair company and the extended warranty company. Then the entire washer unit with pump and diverter valve was replaced, today, the 8th visit, and the unit now sanitizes and works just fine. Now Ill tell you how to navigate through the bad technicians, miscommunications and so on that I learned after being frustrated when the second service call did nothing to fix the problem. Inside the kick panel of the KitchenAid dishwasher is a large folded paper enclosed in a waterproof pouch. It a technicians debug sheet that describes how to operate and analyze the results of a built-in self test. Yes, these dishwashers can perform a rather complete self test that concludes with a code indicating what the problem is. Read the sheet in your washer to understand the proper sequence of front panel button presses needed to begin the self test. But beware, the test in my washer can be run to either display the concluding results, or skip the display. You will need to run it in the display mode to read the results, duh. Duh, because the first technician kind of ran it in the other mode and never saw the result. None of the other technicians even ran the self test. It takes about 27 minutes to run, and you have to sit and watch the lights flash so as to catch the final conclusion. Huh, KitchenAid? The technicians would rather just replace stuff than wait 27 minutes to find out whats wrong. But I ran it, not just once, but many times, and I always got error codes 4-1 and 4-4. And the documentation says that one of the causes of a blinking sanitized light is error codes 4-1 or 4-4. Duh again, only on the 7th service call did the technician say lets see what 4-1 and 4-4 are and the answer was an issue with the diverter valve, so he ordered a new one, replaced it on the 8th visit and the washer runs just fine. So run that self-test, get the error codes, then insist the repair company fix the error reported by the self-test. With each technician, I point to the KitchenAid refrigerator I bought in 1987 that still runs well, and, each has chirped, dont buy another KitchenAid refrigerator. Im not buying another KA dishwasher either!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in June 2011, model number KUDE70fvss2, and I have had nothing but problems with it. I bought it because KitchenAid is notoriously quiet and I live in a smaller home and I did not want to hear noise all over my house. Nothing has fallen off or apart, but this dishwasher has never and I do mean not one time cleaned my dishes properly. All dishes and glasses are left with stuck on food. Lipstick never comes off of cups, glasses or silverware. All glassware is cloudy with all kinds of drinking matter still inside. I have to wash everything by hand when the cycle is over... I have had the repair and warranty people out too many times to mention. Water that runs through is scalding. I use recommended products and have even made my own hoping something would help. Alas, this seems like nearly $2k down the drain. Anyone else with this problem? Im a senior and should have written Kitchen Aid a long time ago, but now that I plan to buy another dishwasher, I think I will deal with them. Has anyone else out there gotten their money back?

Repairman told us that there is no sense in attempting to repair this machine; that he sees this same exact issue with this same exact refrigerator and he has never been able to repair one. THIS IS A LEMON. KitchenAid just says Oh, well.

Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I ha
Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I have several media contacts and once they report on all this I am hopeful that consumers will boycott your product. I also bought a 6300.00 refrigerator from the Great Outdoors in 2011. They were closing and since Sears owned them I purchased a floor model that was on display in a cabinet but had no power on to it. So I figured I saved 1100.00 between the brand new one. Wrong, I was told by the salesperson that it was a new model but when it was delivered and I tried to register it, it was manufactured in 2007. I called the store and Sears but since my receipt was stamped no refunds or exchanges they got me good. So now 3 years later the damn thing never worked right from the start and I have called it a piece of ** from the beginning. Guess what, my control panel out!! They do not have the part, tsunami story told and then broken contract with other company. I immediately called KitchenAid because I could not believe what this Tech was saying. Either I find an outside company with a rebuilt Control Panel or I can wheel the refrigerator to the side of the and basically its junk. KitchenAid confirm that they did not have the part and that the manufacturer was destroyed in the tsunami and the other company that has been listed several of these others complain are no longer is willing to make the control panels for them. I might have a chance of them rebuilding one for me directly and proceeded to provide the phone number for me which was wrong having to call them back and spend another 30 minutes on the phone. Another woman gave me two different phone numbers, none of them worked as well. After the third phone call I was provided with a company name and phone number they gave me that will certainly sell me a rebuilt one. I just paid $1200 for a rebuilt board. Interesting enough this company is offering a 10 year warranty on a rebuild control panel however KitchenAid only offers a one year warranty. I am sure kitchen Aid knew there was problems with this board for years. They should have recalled that or extend the warranty. I have never heard of a company not having a part in to be able to fix these refrigerator when people have paid so much money for them. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard and are able to pick enough for a new $8500-$10,000 refrigerator which I do not. They should stock the part and be able to control the market from other outside companies hiking it up prices to their desperate customers that just need their refrigerators fixed, realistically the part probably cost about $2.00 to make. I called KitchenAid as well, they said theyre putting in my case up for review to do the prorated. Its changed. From what Ive heard $1500 doesnt equal $6000 and these parts are not that expensive to obtain. This is absolutely the most hideous thing Ive ever seen a company do. This is the United States. This is a huge corporation. I hope everyone never buys a KitchenAid product again. Why would anyone in their right mind take $1500 for refrigerator thats worth more so we have no choice but to go to outside venues for these parts? Again outrageous, ridiculous and the most disgusting thing a manufacturing company can do. If they’re so willing to cough up the prorated amount why dont they do the right thing and at least split the cost of the part with the consumer if theyre giving them willy nilly numbers of outside companies and not controlling the market. Why would a company offer a 10 year warranty and not the manufacturer? I have purchased KitchenAid products for years. My whole kitchen is full of this top-of-the-line series. I will be slowly changing every single KitchenAid product out of my kitchen and if I am going to spend the money on that type of product itll certainly be Sub-Zero that offers a 12 year warranty from top to bottom on the refrigerators. There are hardly any bad reviews about Sub-Zero. KitchenAids competitors seems like they at least know how to stand behind their consumer. Shame on you KitchenAid. This is disgusting. Oh by the way, the tech Whirlpool factory care that KitchenAid called for me cause if I used someone else, my what little of a piece of junk warranty is left would be void. Charged me $145.00 for call and removal of board and oh by the way I have to have him reinstall the board for another $145.00. Cause warranty on motor and compressor will be voided if I reinstall. Pissed off!!

Seven years ago I bought this one million dollar home with a gourmet kitchen - Kitchenaid fridge, dishwasher, and all. Everything was fine until I realized there was a buildup of frost on the left hand side... since then Ive spent $400 trying to have repairs. Now the ice is in the cheese drawer, both crispers and underneath it all... frozen lunch meat and lettuce are not good on sandwiches. This must be solved and only you can do it = the Beast matches my kitchen or Id have replaced it...HELP.

I purchased the top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher 2 years ago, paid over $900. I bought the extended warranty and it broke within first 2 years. Turns out there are no parts for the repairs. National back order. This is a new appliance. I paid $250 for the extended warranty only to get a buyout of $573. I am now without a dishwasher and out over $600. My other rant is that they are now going to throw this thing in a dump. What is their carbon footprint? I have never been so dissatisfied with an appliance in my life! KitchenAid can kiss my ass!

The exterior is stainless but the interior is brittle plastic. Customer service says its out of warranty, and they are $23 each plus shipping. This is a design flaw and not a routine maintenance item! They should stand by faulty products and send replacements free of charge! I give this zero stars for my safety nothing can compromise that. I had a Kitchenaid stove up until yesterday. It was a stand alone range and for some reason it was putting out a abnormal amount of heat in the kitchen. Also it seemed like I was nauseous some time just standing close to the unit. I put the unit on self clean didnt seem like it worked at all. Had the unit tested by the gas company and they tagged it off as a hazard. The reading on preheat alone was high in carbon monoxide coming out the oven vent. I do not know why these products are so expensive when the quality isnt there. I just replaced the stove with a better brand and my kitchen isnt hot at all...and was tested no readings whatsoever. Stay away from this brand if you value your safety.

3000.00 KitchenAid (purchased in 2014) refrigerator truly a loud disappointment. The buzzing sound from this fridge is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. We have had KitchenAid dishwashers for 20 years. I got this dishwasher three years ago after six months, it wasn’t cleaning the dishes. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the wrong detergent. I switched to Cascade. The fact that you need to buy a special detergent to go with these dishwashers seemed pretty peculiar, but I did it. Since then I’ve had a repairman out three times because it leaks, wasn’t cleaning the dishes, water wasn’t emptying, and now all of the wheels have dissolved and fallen off the dishwasher on the bottom rack. They have melted onto the drying bar. I am grateful they didn’t start a fire. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the detergent Cascade and that dissolves the plastic on the dishwasher wheels.... WHAT???? I finally called kitchenaid and she told me that have never heard of this ever happening and that my warranty was out. I told them that not have if any wheels on my bottom rack was inexcusable and I demanded they send me wheels. Finally they said they would. That was 7 days ago. They said they would send them but if I couldn’t put them on I’d have to hire someone, they would not pay for that. I am very disappointed in kitchen aid, and will never, ever buy another.

I originally purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model# KRFC604FSS) May 313 2017, along with 4 other KitchenAid appliances (this is a new build). All but the stove arrived 6/21/17. When we plugged the fridge in, it was making a very loud noise and many of our contractors said it was abnormally loud and I should call Pacific Kitchen & Home/Best Buy. When I did, I was told to talk to the Geek Squad and then call KitchenAid directly. That was the beginning of long wait times on the phone, automated voice messages, getting disconnected after providing endless details (they cannot call you back) and waiting to speak with a human that could take action. When I finally did speak with someone they argued with me about the date of purchase (which I have the receipt for) and how loud the noise was. They refused to replace the fridge and sent someone out. The first time I sat home for 8 hours and no one showed up. They rescheduled. The second time, they said they would be there between 8 and 12. They didnt show up and said they would come at 2. I was not able to wait, so I asked to cancel, and they said they couldnt cancel the appointment after the driver was already en route. They showed up and no one was here. When I called to reschedule they said that I wasnt there for my appointment which I explained was not the case. Then they fixed the fridge but not the dent or the rust on the front door. So I started the process all over. Finally after many calls and arguments, asking them to just replace the door, they refused and sent me free stainless steel cleaner. Pacific Kitchen & Home agreed to replace the fridge since they thought KitchenAid should have done this. The new fridge came the end of September. The ice maker stopped working early December (who needs ice during the peak holiday season?) So I made another appointment and they then canceled it, a few days before. Today the repairman came (12/29) and said that he didnt have the parts. He will be back next Friday. So this is the general gist of my experience so far. When the repair person arrives he is polite and does his best. Pacific Kitchen & Home have also tried their best (by replacing the fridge in September). The bottom line is that KitchenAid produced a poor-quality product, would prefer to fight with the consumer than provide service, and sends their repair people out without the required parts. It is important to note that this fridge was over $2600 and I have now had to take time off from work, on four occasions, and it is still not working. I have had THE SECOND fridge in my house for three months. It is still not working properly and failed during the month that I have the most people at my home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going elsewhere with your business.

I bought all KitchenAid appliances at the beginning of 2013 and I have had to have the freezer fixed 3 times and now the cook top is broken. I have an extended warranty that I bought through KitchenAid. It is Dan Marc Appliance Repair in New Jersey and they are horrible. They either order the wrong part or the part comes broken. I always have to go 2 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. And I also lose a freezer-full of food. KitchenAid, who is owned by Whirlpool, is horrible to deal with and I would not recommend them to anyone. And to me these appliances are new and to have them fixed 3 times in 2 years is not acceptable. They are also overpriced.

I have a KitchenAid Superba double wall oven (#KEBC208KSS) needing a new electronic panel. It no longer cleans and the oven light doesnt always turn off. I have been told it needs a new panel (again). This is my second KitchenAid Superba oven. I replaced the last oven because the panel had to be replaced three times but only twice under warranty. Then we moved and the house we bought had the same ovens. The cost of these panels installed is now nearly $500 with only a 90-day warranty! I also have a hard time believing KitchenAid continues to make a faulty product and sells it for nearly $3,000. Ive ordered new ovens of different brand. Its tough to believe they cant find a way to fix the issues with their electronic panels.

So I call back in a NOT SO NICE mood because I hate being taken for an idiot. They gave me some run around excuse but did agree to send me the replacement part. It sounds like a class action suit to me as it also appears Kitchenaid does nothing to make it right. When you pay over $2,000 for an oven, you expect a solid 10 to 15 years of use. That is not what is happening. My choices are to pay another $2,000 to $3,000 for a new oven or $500 to $800 for repairs every 4 to 5 years or so. Its not good either way.

We purchased a brand new refrigerator in May. By June, it was not keeping things as cold as it should and the frozen foods started melting. We contacted KitchenAid, which sent out a person from A&E Appliance who stated that it was not fixable and reported this to KitchenAid. We were then told that we had to have someone come for a second opinion, which we have never heard of with a brand new appliance. The second opinion said that it needs a compressor. We were then told that this persons assessment is still not enough and that a supervisor now needs to look at the fridge. By this time, we have lost hundreds of dollars in frozen foods and are unable to purchase food for the week, causing us to go to the store each day to buy what normally could be kept frozen. Months later, we still have no working brand new fridge! We were told a part has to be ordered which takes another few weeks. When it arrived, my husband called and they arranged a time for the part to be installed. The person never showed even though my husband and I made sure that one of us was here all day. The appointment gets rescheduled and the person did not show again. When he was contacted, he stated that he was from the business that made the first assessment and refused to put the part in. We want a brand new fridge, which we paid for, in our house within the next week.

After 2 years of light use (empty nesters) machine would not start. Service tech (not Whirlpool connected) said board was bad. To replace cost was almost $400 with a 30 day warranty. I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher model kdpe234gps0 8 months ago. I have always like Kitchenaid, however this dishwasher has been a thorn in my side because it does not dry my dishes. It is almost easier to handwash and dry the dishes and be done. Instead the dishwasher runs for a long time and when you open to put up dishes you then have to dry each and every item. I would not recommend this product.

I purchased a KitchenAid induction double oven range, model KSIB900ESS1 through my home builder, who installed it in July 2017. We moved into the home August 1. It worked correctly until October, although the induction burners make a lot of noise. In October the ovens quit working. We called KitchenAid, who sent an appliance repairman out in two days. A week later we hear nothing from the appliance guy. After several calls, I found out that the part that needed replaced did not exist. Confused, I called KitchenAid again and asked for another repairman. This one came out, found the problem, and located a replacement board within a week. I preheated the top oven two hours after he left and both of the ovens quit again. It is now a week later (tomorrow will be a month without an oven) and we are no further along in getting this fixed. Added to that: today I received a large box on my doorstep from KitchenAid (which I did not order) that I think might contain pots and pans that I dont need. Im afraid to open it because I dont want them saying I accepted pots and pans in lieu of a workable oven. What the heck is going on with this company?? Two days til Thanksgiving but we wont be able to cook anything in the oven this year. Thank goodness the range still works or wed be eating microwaved everything.

I attempted to cook a baked potato in our KitchenAid over the range microwave (KHMS2040WSS). Please note that using the sensor setting was nothing new to me, I have used the Baked Potato sensor setting many times before with good results. This last time though went horribly wrong, the potato wasnt baked when I returned, it was charred to a black ash. It wasnt even recognizable as a potato. The microwave safe dinner plate that it was on had cracked into pieces and started to adhere to the glass rotating dish. The rotating glass dish itself fractured right at the center and the plastic pivot almost entirely melted. The white interior was stained dark gray with smoke soot. I called Sears because the microwave is only 11 months old. Sears sent out an appliance specialist from A&E Service. The A&E technician performed a few tests and found the appliance was working properly and had not malfunctioned. The finding was that it was my fault as the consumer. My next call was to Whirlpool customer service at 1-800-253-1301. They were unable to help for two days because no report from A&E was available. Finally on day three, the office at 1-800-253-1301 called A&E and got the report. Then the Whirlpool representative stated they were not going to assist because it was found that the potato caught on fire not the microwave. I asked for a supervisor and was transferred to another office (I know it was another office because the toll free number changed to 1-866-640-7146). At any rate, after an hour long call which truly amounted to wheel spinning, the supervisor agreed to call A&E again to see if any other options were available. Much later that same day, he left a voice mail stating that Whirlpool would help with the cost of parts. Ugh, I am so upset! The microwave is virtually new and I didnt choose how long to cook the potato, it was supposed to sense this and cook it accordingly. I have had $99 microwaves perform for years without incident. Then you really think that you are doing yourself a favor by branding up to KitchenAid and paying the extra cash for nothing. Has anyone else had this experience where the sensor setting overcooking something to the point of charring, smoke, fire etc? Have you contacted Whirlpool and if so, with what result? I feel that they should at minimum fully restore the microwave for no cost. Optimally, I would like to have a new microwave or a full reimbursement.

We purchased all new appliances for our new house about 2 years ago. After almost a year this refrigerator went downhill fast. Out of nowhere, the ice machine quit working. Then we went to the refrigerator one day and all of our food in the freezer and refrigerator had gone bad because at some point it just quit cooling. We got a KitchenAid service tech out to fix it. Turns out it was some sort of sensor that went out. The ice machine never worked like it originally did. Now, this hunk of junk is acting up again. The water/ice is not working, the control panel is not responding, and the interior lights will not come on. I wish I had gone with a different brand. I hate to replace this refrigerator because it matches all the appliances in our kitchen. This refrigerator was way too expensive to be having this many problems.

Everything has to be thoroughly rinsed before they go in, the regular cycles takes hours to run. So disappointed. I had my first KitchenAid for 15 years and it was quick and cleaned like it should. Repair man said everyone is complaining about the same thing. He had to fix the runners on the upper shelf because they were plastic and cracked. Bought this range 3 1/2 years ago and it worked fine until last Friday when it exploded in my face, burning my forearm. Shards of the glass top hit me in the face drawing blood. Fortunately, nothing in the kitchen caught fire and I didnt lose an eye. After two phone calls and more than an hour on the phone with two KitchenAid representatives, they declined to have a repair person come out to evaluate the damage and make a determination of whether it should be replaced or not. After I called around to find someone who could replace the product at our own expense, we found out that KitchenAid does not pay service people for warranty work so nobody in our area would come out to see it unless we paid them ourselves--which we are now going to do.From close examination of the damage, our best guess is there was an internal gas leak within the unit that ignited by the burners ignition spark as I began to prepare a meal, causing an explosion that burned my arm and shattered the glass top, sending shards of glass more than 30 feet. Please keep your family safe! Do not purchase this dangerous product. And, consider avoiding all KitchenAid products if you want them to deal fairly with you. We will take our business elsewhere.

I bought a higher end KitchenAid Dishwasher model W10502124A. It is almost 2 years old. I started having trouble with it after I used it for about a year. I took out the racks and got a flashlight inside the tub. It was covered with mold, grease and food residue. I took the spinner and cover off and cleaned the filter. It was somewhat dirty, so I cleaned out everything. I disinfected everything and put it back together. About 3 months later, I took out the racks again. The inside was covered in filth, grease and mold. I took it apart again and took out the food chopper assembly.First of all the food chopper was jammed into the opening, so it would have been impossible for it to even turn the blades. When I disassembled the unit, it appeared (I am not a professional repair person) that one of the arms that hold the shaft in the plastic assembly was broken off. I put the unit back together as well as I could. At least the blade could turn now. Its been about 2 months and there is powder residue left in my top rack, the dishes are not getting clean and I have finally summoned a repairman. I did contact KitchenAid and their cheerful reply was you need to call a professional repairman.

We bought this refrigerator for our vacation home in Cabo and liked that it was a reputable American company with a local dealer if anything were to go wrong. Six months and four service calls later, KitchenAid has finally agreed that the unit is unrepairable and will replace it...but SIX MONTHS LATER? What if we hadnt kept the old refrigerator. This Kitchenaid doesnt get below 70 degrees, wont make ice cubes and doesnt keep anything in the freezer frozen! Basically it doesnt do one thing its supposed to do. Yet it has taken six months of aggravation to a least get Kitchenaid to own up to the fact that its a piece of junk. Now how many months till it gets replaced? I can understand that every once in awhile, a product gets through thats just not good, but thats where customer service comes in. The way that this has been handled is is a reflection of a complete lack of quality and integrity in every way. Beyond disappointing. Our KitchenAid built-in electric/convection oven started a fire and burnt a turkey to a crisp because I made the oh-so-unthinkable mistake of basting it during cooking. The repairman came out and said its normal for the broiler to come on during the cooking cycle if the oven temperature falls, but I cant see how any appliance manufacturer can think this is a good idea. Aside from the fact that this feature makes conventional roasting and other types of cooking impossible, more critically, it represents a serious design flaw that makes the oven a fire hazard. I have contacted the CEO of Whirlpool about this hazard but I do not expect any satisfaction given the response KitchenAid had when a cheap relay on our 13-month-old refrigerator failed causing the temperature to rise and all the food within to spoil. They simply told us that since the fridge was one month past the warranty, it wasnt their problem. How can they justify making appliances that have the potential to harm people?

I purchased the extended warranty coverage although this model received poor ratings. But it fit perfectly into my cabinets. I specifically asked 2 years ago when purchasing the second unit if anything goes out on microwave would I receive a replacement. I was told “yes, we’ll replace the microwave since we don’t repair countertop models.”About 2 weeks ago the lcd display digits started to burn out. I checked online and found this same model is still being produced. I called Whirlpool who’s the parent company to discuss my options since I had 2 more years on extended warranty. After escalation to 3 levels of supervisors I was told they would only send me the depreciated amount of the microwave. The terms state replace or give cash settlement. But I was told at this time they are not replacing the microwaves. This is very upsetting and breach of what I was told when I purchased the extended warranty because this model fits my cabinet and trim kit.

KitchenAid? More like KitchenFRAYED. Yesterday morning as we performed our regular cleaning on our KitchenAid fridge, a food takeout bag inside (not plastic) began to smoke. After several minutes of searching the house, looking for the fire, we checked inside the smoke infused fridge, noticing a charred bag as a result of the clearly DANGEROUS light bulb inside. What was a charred bag of smoke and ashes QUICKLY BURST INTO FLAMES!!! We had to call KitchenAid the following day (today) as they clearly do NOT take safety as a priority and have their phone lines open on Sundays and were immediately told it was our fault, not theirs, and completely BLAMED FOR the high-risk situation their fridge caused. Had we left the house or left the bag to smolder unknowingly, our whole HOUSE could have caught fire!!!There is pets and CHILDREN in this household but we were just informed it was our fault for leaving our barbeque takeout bag in the fridge it was required to be in. Horrible customer service, RUDE, unwilling to take responsibility and even wanted us to PAY to have it looked at after we couldve suffered the loss of our house, pets and family members inside. TRULY unbelievable and disgusted by KitchenAid. This fridge has had its issues from DAY ONE. We had to get a replacement immediately as it began to rust on its exterior within its first week in our house.Soon, bins began to crumble, plastic shards filling the interior as we suffered to obtain replacements. Of course, they were highly reluctant to send replacements and sent the bare minimum. HAZARDOUS, RUDE and IRRESPONSIBLE most definitely sum up the company as a whole. Do not recommend, especially if you wish to live your maximum lifespan and preserve your family, pets and friends.

I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in 2013, stainless steel model #KFIS29BBMSOO. Ive had numerous problems with it, many service calls. The first was the hose in the freezer splitting, which took 5 service calls to figure out, costing me for each one. Finally they said it was a recall item and I should not have had to pay. It was difficult to get my money back from the service people, took months. Now there is ice building up behind the drawers in the refrigerator, blocking the vent. There is about 2 of ice built up so the drawers do not close completely. Everything in the drawers freezes. When I called repair people suggested by Whirlpool. As soon as they heard the model number they refused to come. I called Whirlpool again, they said they have never heard of any problems like this, however, when I read all of the reviews listed here there are a lot of problems with these refrigerators. The repair guys said KitchenAid is one of the worst brands now, made so poorly, but so expensive. They finally found me a repairman, he is about 5 hours away, I told them he is not close, they said he probably knows someone closer to me, however the call is from 8:00-5:00, I have to wait. This has been so frustrating. I purchased 7 appliances at the same time, I did a remodel on my kitchen. My dishwasher failed after one year, the motor actually fell on the floor, it slow leaked onto my wood floors doing $40,000. damage, cabinets had to be pulled out walls repaired, took 5 months. KitchenAid would do nothing. The motor was not installed right at the factory, they tried to blame it on the installers. Im fed up with KitchenAid, would never recommend it to anyone. I just cant believe they dont worry about their reputation.

I too have the issue of an extremely foul odor coming from my dishwasher since day one (Ive had it less than a year). I have had 3 service calls per Sears. They have all told me the usual, clean with certain products, run a cycle with vinegar and baking soda, it must be my garbage disposal etc... nothing worked. I finally called KitchenAid directly. They sent one of their service people out to inspect the machine today. He explained that the machine was built without a vent fan. I was not aware that dishwashers had vent fans, but I am also not an appliance mechanic. He said that I need to leave the door open and run a cycle of vinegar through after each use. So, I need to use double the water and double the electricity to get one load of dishes done. Not to mention, trip over the open door each time I walk into my kitchen. My questions is... if there is no proper ventilation then I have to assume that mold and bacteria will ultimately become a problem (if not already). Why has no one from KitchenAid thought about this? Ultimately, this is a potential health hazard. All this time I think my dishes are clean when in fact I am just washing them within a dishwasher full of nasty things that can potentially make my family sick. Im glad I dont have infants anymore. Can you imagine sterilizing baby bottles in this piece of crap?! I am still working with KitchenAid to resolve the problem. We will see how this goes. I can say for sure that Sears has been awful, no help whatsoever. Customer service very very rude. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Sears, and after reading all the horrible reviews, I will never buy another KitchenAid. I am also having issues with the top rack. I have to hold it in while I load the bottom rack. Very inconvenient.Updated 5/30/2016: Just an update to my previous (5/24/2016) post. As I feared, KitchenAid customer service has been no more helpful than Sears customer service. I was told that theres nothing that can be done about the foul smell in my dishwasher. I have been committed to having a piece of crap dishwasher. In the meantime, I am writing letters to the CEO of Whirlpool as well as all the board and committee members. Perhaps if others do the same, one of our letters will end up in the hands of someone who cares. If you do a Google search of CEO of Whirlpool, the leadership page for Whirlpool will come up. I bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from Home Depot through what I am not getting to understand as special order from KitchenAid. What this means is that it cannot be returned even if you report an issue in the first two days after getting it. I spend over a 1000 dollars on this order which included an extended warranty. The installers came in, install the washer and told me it was working by showing me that the lights on the appliance were on. Unfortunately the appliance was not working. I loaded dishes in it later on in the day and 2 and a half hours later I opened the dishwasher and to my dismay the dishes were as dirty as I put them in.I went to Home Depot to report this issue hoping I will be given a brand new Dishwasher and the lemon that had been given to me would be taken out. To my utter dismay I was told they would have to send someone out to check it out. At that moment I thought that would happen immediately but no they had to call KitchenAid and they had to get their own service company. The company KitchenAid uses is called Flamingo and this company has really poor customer service. They called me. Told me they can only come out during the week before 6pm and I need to have the whole day blocked out. This outrageous time restriction with no weekend service makes no sense. This is especially relevant for those who have a job and commute that keeps them from being at home during the week before 6pm. With this kind of restriction if you buy a KitchenAid appliance that has an issue it mean you will not get service on an appliance unless you take a day off which is totally unacceptable. However I do not think the Flamingo representatives were being truthful about this restriction. I finally got them to come out on a Saturday to look at the nonworking dishwasher- but that took over 2 weeks. So I paid for a dishwasher for almost a month which I could not use. The guy who came out I must say was nice and it did not take him long to conclude that I had been sold a lemon. The dishwasher that was delivered to me had a bad pump so the dishwasher was not working. His conclusion was that it had to be repaired. I am still in shock as to what is going on here. Why should I have been sold a lemon and they have to fix the lemon versus replace the lemon. I tried to contact Home Depot but the customer service there was even worse. I got insulted on the phone by an appliance supervisor who was so condescending. I will not buy a KitchenAid appliance ever again. I have bought LG appliances and never had any problems. I am still without a working dishwasher, a debt on my credit card and waiting for Flamingo to get someone to come out on a Saturday to fix the lemon dishwasher KitchenAid sold to me via Home Depot special order.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in March 2011 from Lowes. I chose the KitchenAid brand and paid a slightly higher amount as I was told they are well built and work better than any other brand on the market, and because I thought they would stand by their product. In December 2012, the upper rack adjuster broke because it is made of plastic and the dishwasher has the lift higher feature, that is used quite a bit. I contacted customer service and they said the part was out of stock and finally in late January I received the replacement part. Last week it broke again, same place, so I contacted customer service again and I asked them if anyone else has this issue and I was told they could not discuss this with me but there is no recall. Was told I am sorry but the part is in stock, call Marcone to order the part. The cost is $40.00 plus shipping. I am so angry right now. I have a dishwasher that is useless. Without the top rack in the upper spray unit will not work.

I have two pairs of the dishwasher drawers with custom wood panels and one pair started to make loud whirring noises and then would beep incessantly, resulting in us turning off the breaker switch to get it to stop. Then, the bottom drawer stopped draining and held water in the tub all the time. The repair man quoted me over $900.00 for the repair. He suggested that I not repair it, and I agreed with him. Now, my second pair is making loud noises and I am afraid it is on its way to death as well. I am so disappointed in these dishwashers. I am going to start a Facebook group to see how may others have defective dish drawers.

I am sick to my stomach... Just redid my entire kitchen in KitchenAid products thinking they were a good investment. The built-in wall oven is the WORST. I have used it once, for one batch of cookies - 350 degrees, bake time - 10 minutes. The first sign of trouble was how loud the oven was when cooking, seriously annoying. I figured I could get used to that, thinking it was just new technology at work. Was I ever wrong. The fan (and it is loud) has continued for an hour... As I write this, it is still as loud as can be. And we are talking only 10 minutes of cook time at 350 degrees! I am so bummed I cant stand it. I have never written a review for anything in my life, but because I know that I am going to have absolutely no recourse on this (I can hear it now... But there isnt anything wrong with the oven), Id like to prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

I used the self-cleaning cycle for the first time on my KitchenAid (Model: YKESS970) electric range which cost me over $2,500. The oven is now a year and a half old and completely finished. The door is locked and the display panel is not working at all. I called KitchenAid and they said that the parts might be still under warranty but we have to pay the labor of $81 just for them to show up, plus $19 every 15 minutes (the first 15 minutes are free). Wow!

The fridge started leaking at the top. I paid $115 from a repairman to be told this is a known defect for this fridge (air leak at the top). So KitchenAid should offer free repair for anyone who this affects. They are now made differently, so why should I be stuck with a lemon? I am so mad right now, repairing it is out of the question as I was quote $650. Also if this is a known defect, why didnt KitchenAid alert us? I could have saved $115 by not having a repairman out to our house. The solution for this is to turn the water off to our fridge and not having a water or ice maker, which is half the reason we bought the fridge. Stay away from this entire brand. We are also dealing with a Kitchenaid microwave that the whole door has fallen apart, literally, cracking and chipping away and I spent $225 for a new door that should arrive any day.

Purchased a $7000 Kitchen Aid refrigerator 6 years ago (KSSO48FTX02) at the suggestion of the salesman at JC Perreault in Montreal. Thankfully our $25,000 purchase of appliances did not include any other Kitchen Aid products as my recent problem has been nothing short of a customer service nightmare. Our refrigerator, which other than a constant noise problem, had been relatively reliable. Last month, a constant beeping sound and on/off of a motor was observed. In addition the control panel lights were constantly flashing whenever the door was opened. For 3 days - getting through the 800 number was impossible - so I was forced to call an outside tech. Upon hearing of the problem he informed me that there was a 90% chance the motherboard was fried. I told him to come over anyhow and in 5 minutes of pressing buttons he confirmed it - AND that the replacement part was DISCONTINUED by Kitchen Aid because of the Tsunami in Japan 5 years ago! The only fix would be a black market repair and it would cost me $2000, and it might not even work! When I finally got through to customer service at KA, they confirmed that the part was no longer being made and they suggested I check out Ebay or Amazon for replacements! The nightmare continues as I try to decide whether or not to cut my losses and buy a new fridge - and remodel my kitchen in the process since this one was built-in. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT MADE BY KITCHEN AID, or Whirlpool or Jenn-air.

We are having the same problems as others with the Kitchenaid Microwave Hood Combo (KIHMS155LSS3). We own two units (one at lake cabin & one at home). The cabin one was running when I returned after being gone for 6 days & the only way to shut off was to unplug it. It was not used or plugged in for three days. Then last night at 1:20 am I woke up to it beeping and the control panel read 5:42 & it would not cancel so I had to unplug it. When I heard about this a year ago I started unplugging my cabin microwave whenever we were gone. Im frustrated & will be contacting Kitchenaid even though others have said it will do no good.

I have a KitchenAid build in refrigerator that is 9 years old, the board needs replacement. I called Whirlpool (owns Kitchenaid) and after their service provider came in they diagnosed that the board needs to be replaced. Here is where the problem starts and the reason of of my 2 star review. They informed me that the part if not available, that they have no idea when it will be available, and that they can not provide a date or any other resolution. Basically what they told me is your 9 year old $8,000 product can stop working and we do not care if we produce the parts to service it anyone. Please do not buy any product from a company that cannot produce the parts to fix it after only 9 years. I know the time seems like a long life, but 9 years life for a $8K product is not a reasonable expectation. Last the customer service is very poor, representative refused to escalate, or provide any other resolution. They really do expect that I have to accept a no working refrigerator while I am waiting for some magical date to resolve the issue on a part that they do not produce anymore. I do not recommend the product. Companies should stand behind what they produce and provide the parts to service it (not for free I am happy to pay).

On June 12, 2004 we bought four appliances from your business which at the time totaled $5,200.33. During the first year and beyond we had problems with the fridge with too much cooling on both sides. After numerous calls and service calls to troubleshoot and repair the fridge, Whirlpool agreed to scrap and replace with a similar model on 12/28/05 (see attached). Unfortunately the same problem has now occurred again with the replaced refrigerator. I appreciate that the item is no longer covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee as it was bought/replaced six years ago. However, the Sale of Goods Act 1979 makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. As the item has broken down well in advance of its normal life expectancy and has not been misused in any way, we regard the item as being of unsatisfactory quality in respect of its durability. I am, therefore, asking you to repair the item free of charge or to replace it with a similar model/finish, and more importantly one which is working properly. I want either a repair or replacement model (similar) that works well and as advertised. As a result of the problem fridge, we have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of perished foods over the years.

We purchased a new home with KitchenAid appliances and from day 1, my wall
We purchased a new home with KitchenAid appliances and from day 1, my wall microwave did not work and my stove malfunctioned. I called to register my products and was given a quote for an extended warranty (because apparently I am going to need it with these garbage appliances). I was told that they had to ship me some parts, which were out of stock and that I had to wait. After a month, I received the wrong part and called back. I was told the right part I needed was out of stock and had to wait again. After several weeks, I was told that they no longer made my microwave and that they would be sending me a new one. I was told that I could not get the extended warranty at this time because I would be getting a new microwave and if I bought the warranty now, I would have to pay extra to add my new microwave once it came. After several more weeks, the microwave came in and it was a countertop microwave, not a wall microwave. Obviously, it did not fit in my wall cabinet so the installers had to make modifications for it to fit. This whole process took about 3 months to resolve and I did not have a working microwave. Next, my oven malfunctioned with an error code and it would not turn off. I called customer service again, armed with my extended warranty price quote because clearly these appliances have significant issues. I was told that it is common for the error code to appear on my double wall oven model and that I had to shut my power off and on for it to reset. When I complained and said that it was unacceptable, I was told that it was an unfortunate situation involving these appliances and nothing could be done. I asked about my extended warranty, ready to shell out hundreds more on these appliances so that I could get them replaced when they break (which is clearly going to happen). I was told that the price had now gone up over 100.00 because it had been over a month since I registered my appliances. I told Jasmine, the call taker that I had a faulty microwave and had to wait months for a new one, so that is why I did not get the warranty when I first got the quote. She told me repeatedly that there was nothing that she could do and the quote was computer generated and she could not change the price. I asked for a supervisor and was told that Amber (supervisor) wanted me to know that she could not change the price either.I have decided not to purchase the extended warranty on these products. I spent over $10,000 on my gourmet kitchen and now I am stuck with these expensive appliances that will no doubt breakdown again and again. For now, I will make sure my flashlight batteries are charged up so I can make the trip to re-set my circuit breaker each time my oven acts up. Thanksgiving should be especially fun.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (KUDP02FSPA3) for my new home. We moved in December of 2007 and by December of 2011 the door to the dishwasher broke. It would no longer spring close. Because this model has the customizable front door to match the cabinets, the door is extremely heavy - heavy enough to kill a small child when the door broke. We immediately removed the cabinet part so that my 12-month-old baby girl would not be harmed or killed by this defect. I called last week to have someone come out and fix my dishwasher door and the cost was $164. Now that I am doing the research online, I see this is a common problem with this dishwasher model. Why does KitchenAid continue to sell a product that has a defect which could kill a small child? Why did we have to pay $164 to fix this common problem? Is KitchenAid waiting for the defect to actually kill a small child before coming up with a permanent solution to the problem?

KDRU783VSS-48 in dual fuel range - My 2 1/2 year old dual fuel convection range with steam assist (48 in) caught fire and was non-repairable. I was baking in the smaller oven when I heard a pop. Black smoke started pouring from the front of both ovens. Upon opening the smaller oven door, I saw flames up around the broil elements (I was NOT broiling at the time). My husband commented that it smelled like an electrical fire. We proceeded to cut off the power to the range. Smoke still poured out. We then heard the sound of gas burning off inside the oven (I was NOT using our gas stove top at the time). The stainless steel outside top and sides of the oven were burning hot to the touch. The control knobs were so hot they had become gummy/tacky to the touch. With no end in sight to the black smoke pouring out and the extreme heat OUTSIDE of the oven, we called the fire department. They cut the gas off to the house. The firemans hand-held temperature reading gun (Bullard Thermal Camera) measured over 250 degrees atop the range and along the back wall behind the range. Firemen said had we not been home, the back wall would have caught fire and this would have become a rescue call.KitchenAid sent a repair person to look at the oven. Deemed not safe enough to repair, the spark ignitor box inside was melted, wires crystallized, touch screen displays melted, wall plug charred and melted. After many lengthy calls and emailed pictures, we were given 2 options: get a replacement unit only by paying a participation fee of $2500 or get a prorated refunded due to age of unit (2 1/2 years old). We opted for the partial refund, as this unit is a FIRE HAZARD. To get a different brand, we still were out several thousand dollars, since we were not offered a full refund on a faultily designed range. Funny, because 8 WEEKS later when I finally had a different brand installed, the installer noticed my old unit had steam assist. He said he had replaced 3-4 other KitchenAid models that had burned up - all with steam assist. No one at KitchenAid could tell me anything. There has been no recall. BEWARE: This unit is poorly designed and is a fire hazard!

We bought a KitchenAid KUDS30CXWH1 in 2011 and from day 1 it has been the worst lemon appliance we have ever owned. The thermal fuse (protecting the control panel) has failed 9 times! The control panel went 2 times. The top rack collapsed 3 times. Despite the fact that we scrape every dish, we have to rip the guts out of the dishwasher every 4-5 weeks to get at the filter and clean it. Out of self defense we have had to learn to do our own maintenance, which is difficult for senior citizens. Even at that, to date, we have spent 4 times on parts and maintenance, than the machine originally cost. Ive written to the CEO of Whirlpool several times, even sending letters by return receipt requested. The machine is now 7 years old and has been a nightmare for 7 years. We are finally going to dump it. We are NOT replacing it with KItchenAid, Whirlpool or Kenmore (all made by the same manufacturer.) We are not surprised to see, by reading these reviews, that KitchenAid is still putting out trash. What a pity, our previous KitchenAid dishwasher lasted 20 years and was replaced for cosmetic reasons. Something BAD has happened to this company. Shame on Consumer Reports for continuing to rate them highly, but then Consumer Reports does not have to keep them running.

I have contacted the local parts people and have called Whirlpool directly without success. There seems to be no definitive date of replacement available. Dont burn down your house, I survived 9/11 today. The under counter dishwasher (KUDPO1ILBS0) KitchenAid had a few seal problems 5 years ago. Last night, I heard a loud noise in the kitchen at 1:30AM (Sept. 11, 2012) while the whole family was sleeping. I got up and waited 1-2 minutes to compose myself and then noticed light rubber burning smell in my bedroom. I walked down the stair to the kitchen and felt stronger smell of electrical wire burning. I turned the light on and noticed that the dishwasher passing out steam after complete cycle and also white smoke from the front panel where buttons are situated. I tried to open the dishwasher while placing hand on the electronic panel as usual, when I heard sparks and more intense smoke. I ran to the basement and turned the switch from the main electrical panel and noticed smoke diminishing, but smelled very intense. When steam and smoke stopped and I felt safe, I took the dishes out which were clean and well dry as usual. The whole family was down by this time due to the commotion and ready to call 911 and exit to pre-plan spot. I noticed that it was only front panel smoke and now no sign of fire or smoke. I asked everyone to go back to bed and watched TV until 3:00AM on guard. I later went to bed and in the morning, the family decided to replace our 10-year old dishwasher.

I feel ripped off. I think that this design aspect, by 2013 should be a no brainer. Guess I was wrong...

I will never buy or recommend KitchenAid products again! We have a $10K built-in KitchenAid refrigerator that is only 4 years old. It has not been working for a month! Every time (9 so far) their certified techs come it goes over temperature again a day or two later. As a result I have had to throw out thousands of dollars of food, over a hundred ounces of breast milk for my 3 month old, wasted days now dealing with Kitchen-Aid and waiting for repairs, and had to endure this beyond frustrating experience just trying to get my fridge working. They should stand behind their products and their warranties and if their certified repair people cannot fix the problem, they should replace the product. Also, their customer service does not care, is not helpful, and is sarcastic. I am done!!

It looks great in the wall, but I HATE this oven & wish I could replace
It looks great in the wall, but I HATE this oven & wish I could replace!! It blows a very loud fan any time it is on - and it takes FOREVER to preheat! I mean 30-45 minutes to reach 350. And then blows an hour after you turn it off. No way to shut it off. After reading reviews of shattering glass, I am scared to death to try the self-clean feature! How do they get away with selling us these problem appliances?!

We bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from a wholesale dealer in Mississauga, Ontario less than a year ago with a 3-year extended warranty. Seven weeks ago, the fuse burnt and had we not stopped the machine, there could well have been a fire hazard. The repairs was called via the wholesale dealer who directs you to KitchenAid head office who eventually send a repairman who tells us that the parts have to be ordered and will be in touch. Weeks drag into months and it 7 months now. The handler for the company incidentally is in the USA and we live and bought the equipment in Canada. Multiple calls followed and we are offered a 3-year extended warranty to placate our annoyance. It seems 94 people ahead of us are waiting for their parts. Threats to reach the decision makers are blocked. We are given 48 hours notice which turns to 3 days. We are thinking of connecting with the Toronto newspapers and the Better Business Bureau. Where else can we complain where it will be noticed by other consumers and heed taken?

I have owned a KitchenAid Gas Range/Convection Oven KGSA906PSS for several years. I attempted to use the self-clean feature for the first time ever yesterday. I wished I had searched for KitchenAid complaints on this website first. Apparently, I am one of many who has burned up the oven control panel by merely using a feature of the oven. How is this possible that there is no recall or product support from KitchenAid for such a common problem and obvious product defect? I called KitchenAid and as you can guess from their low ratings on this and other sites. They were zero help and I got the impression they could care less if any of us ever buy a KitchenAid product again. They should be happy to know that I in fact would never buy another KitchenAid product or recommend that anyone else ever does. The repair (punishment) cost is estimated at $600. This is a repair for attempting to use the oven clean feature one time. One of the features we looked for on an oven although for some reason (thankfully) we didnt use. This represents a full 45 percent of the ovens purchase price and yet KitchenAid has no assistance or comment. Good Job, KitchenAid. I hope this experience helps somebody make a wiser purchase decision.

I purchased an all new KitchenAid appliances in 2006 and have had major problems with them. The microwave was a fire hazard because it would randomly start on its own with nothing in it. A service technician was out several times to repair it (three trips in all). Now, the electric range (Model: KESA907PSS02) is not working again! We had the electronic range control and the touch pad replaced within the first year. They were covered under warranty. The same problem occurred this month and KitchenAid (Shari) will do nothing to remedy the problem. The cost to repair the range will be well over $450.00 if we have a technician do the work. I spoke with Shari from KitchenAid and she was not the least bit supportive or apologetic. She kept saying that it was no longer under warranty and there was nothing she could do. They have very poor customer service given my ongoing appliance issues. She was well aware of my appliance issues but was not at all concerned or helpful in providing assistance. We paid more money for the KitchenAid appliances than what we could have spent on other brands because we thought that we were getting premium appliances (definitely not so). Paying more does not mean that they are better! I will never purchase another KitchenAid product and will share my experience with others. They have horrible customer service and poor overpriced products. Shame on them for taking advantage of consumers and not providing a product that stands the test of time. I have paid for this range twice due to the repair costs over the years and I cannot afford to do so especially in these economic times. KitchenAid needs to address consumer satisfaction and produce a better product that warrants the high price tag.

Purchased dishwasher and had it professionally installed 4/16/2013. 9/13/20
Purchased dishwasher and had it professionally installed 4/16/2013. 9/13/2015 unit stopped working. Called Home Warranty Company who sent out repairman and diagnosed problem as bad Electronic Control and Console Assembly. Repairman called back and advised that items were covered under second through fifth year warranty by manufacturer. Contacted KitchenAid 9/14/15 and appointment for their repairman was scheduled for 9/24/2015. At time KitchenAid was notified, I advised the parts that we were told were required.9/24/2015 KitchenAid repairman came and confirmed that electronic control was bad and needed replacement. He subsequent, 9/28/2015 returned and replaced electronic control and then confirmed that user interface was bad and needed replacement however, that was not covered under the warranty because, even though it is the electronic interface between the user and the electronic control, it was not considered an electronic control. My opinion is that seeing as it is a set of electronic pressure switches, connected to the electronic control by wires, it is an electronic control.9/28/15, I contacted KitchenAid and was curtly informed that it is not a covered part and that I could purchase it if I wanted. I am now back with the initial Home Warranty Company to determine if they will obtain and install the required part.

We purchased the oven (Kitchenaid Double Oven Gas Range KGRS505X) 1 1/2 yea
We purchased the oven (Kitchenaid Double Oven Gas Range KGRS505X) 1 1/2 years ago. The top broiler will not stay on when a pan is in the oven. It seems like it overheats and turns off. I called Customer Service and got no help. Now the baking unit failed. I called service and they replaced the ignitor. We asked about the broiler so they also replaced that ignitor but it didnt help. Then they said we needed a new oven gas valve but they dont have the part. Ive spent almost as much on repairs as I paid for the oven and its only 1 1/2 years old. I called Customer Service to complain but they were not concerned. All they wanted to do was to sell me a service contract that is half the cost of a new oven for just one year coverage. My GE appliances lasted nearly 20 years. KitchenAid is the worst. They have poor quality product and bad customer service.

I purchased this model in March and had it for four weeks when the freezer dipped down to zero degrees and the refrigerator went up to 65 degrees. The store where I bought it immediately exchanged it. In less than a month the freezer in the new refrigerator went down to 6 degrees. Someone came to replace a part. It was defrosted and plugged in again but has not gone past 6 degrees. I have lost a lot of money in food and KitchenAid will not reimburse. The store where I bought this piece of junk is replacing it with an LG.

Im on a mission to let everyone know how much KitchenAid sucks. They obviou
Im on a mission to let everyone know how much KitchenAid sucks. They obviously have no quality control on their production. They have no ethics about making a quality product. About 8 years ago, we upgraded our kitchen and bought all new KitchenAid appliances. Since then, every appliance has had issues. Microwave (KHMS155LSS), weve had to replace the face plates (all of them) at least once because the cheap plastic latches broke. Dishwasher (KUDS01FLSS), the spring holding the door has broken twice so that the door flies open and bruises any body parts in the way. Hand mixer (Classic Plus 5), less than 1 year after purchasing, one of the beaters separated (has been fine since we replaced it though). Stand mixer (KSM9O), the cover over the motor doesnt stay close and easily pulls open if you touch it. Oven/Stove (Superba Range), the final straw, I was baking potatoes tonight and the oven shut off and locked shut with my potatoes inside. I cannot open the door. I tried all the things I saw on the internet and its still locked with my potatoes inside. Im going to replace it with a non-KitchenAid appliance ASAP!

Fridge purchased May 2015. Lid for cheese drawer kept falling off whenever
Fridge purchased May 2015. Lid for cheese drawer kept falling off whenever opened and puddle kept forming on floor below bottom freezer. New cheese drawer lid ordered, still didnt fit properly so technician had to shim the sides and now there is a gap on either side where debris could collect and cant be cleaned out. Door on bottom freezer deemed to be warped causing it not to seal properly, thus huge frost accumulation on inside of freezer and bouts of thawing causes puddles on floor in front. Waited 2 months for a new freezer door, arrived and when technician went to install found it also was warped. Now have to wait another 2 months for a second try. Whole unit is substandard. I asked for a replacement fridge. Of course, they refuse but they are happy to keep making repairs. I am not happy to have to make myself available for repeated visits by technician for a problem that remains unfixed.
