We selected KitchenAid panel ready, so our custom kitchen would have a designer look. Imagine how disappointed we were to learn that this refrigerator IS NOT counter depth!! The sides of the refrigerator stick out a 1/4 of an inch too far, and The sides of the door show. I understood the sides of the door would show, because you would not be able to open the refrigerator if the sides were enclosed. What I did not know or expect was the refrigerator to be black!!! Why would a black refrigerator be made for white panels? Why did my sales person not tell me I was getting a black refrigerator, especially since I was going to be seeing the sights around the door in my all white custom kitchen? EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION: The spec sheets that KitchenAid provides for your designer and cabinet builders is INCORRECT!! At least ours are! You should review yours!! The refrigerator does not measure the same as the spec sheets. This is why the refrigerator sticks out on the sides. I feel KitchenAid needs to be held accountable!

Its not enough to say - I will never use another Kitchen Aid appliance, or - Ill tell all my friends to never buy this product!!!!!! If you have purchased a Kitchen Aid dishwasher with its cheap plastic material, that when heated by the heating elements become weak and crumble apart, you need to know that this is very wrong and against the laws and rights of anyone who purchased this product. That means that it is your duty to call the Whirlpool complaints department and let them know that they have broken the law!!! And that you wont stand for it. I have called and asked to speak with the highest level (supervisor). She asked me for my full name, phone # and address. I asked her a few questions: 1) Where are the dishwasher manufactured (not assembled)? She did not know. 2) What is the plastic made of (knowing that she would not know) asked then can answer these question for me, she did not know. 3) Why are there so many Model #s for the same dishwasher? She said only the manufacturer can answer that question (and she has no idea who that is). I told her that on the Consumer Affairs website, there are 548 complaints on the same or similar issues that I am having with my 1 & half yr old dishwasher. I explained to her that when the plastic gets hot, it weakens and parts start to break off. I was told that they have not had any complaints. I gave her the website and asked her what she was going to do about it. She said she would record the information then pass it on to her supervisor (who I had already spoken with and was told that there was nothing she could to for me). I said that I would like her to email me a copy of that report. She explained that that was not possible. I asked her for her name. She replied - Kathy. I asked her for her last name and she refused. I asked for a phone number where she could be reached and she refused and said it was against company policy. I replied by saying - Kathy, did you ask me for my last name, address and phone # when I called? (yes). I finished the conversation by saying - Kathy, you get to hide behind your comfy, corporate desk protected... while the rest of us get to buy your plastic crap and have no way of getting any compensation. Thank You Kathy!!! I am now in the process of taking Whirlpool to court. I have all the proof I need to prove that Whirlpool is negligent. Im not doing this to have my dishwasher repaired for free parts included (which the company Corbeil where I purchased the dishwasher has agreed to do). I am doing this because it is the right thing to do and I wish more people would do the same...

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator 2 years ago. The quality is amazingly poor. The flange on both crisper drawers broke during the first year. KitchenAid was kind enough to send replacements. Unfortunately they are the same design/same materials. Next the housing that covers the water filter broke off during the first filter change. Now, at two years, we have the plugged defroster drain that seems ubiquitous with these refrigerators. We shut the refrigerator off for a day with a small space heater directed at the drain in an attempt to thaw the thing out. No luck. Water still leaks down into the bottom of the freezer and eventually drains onto the floor. Weve had more problems with this unit than with every other refrigerator weve owned over the past 40 years - combined. Such a disappointment. KitchenAid use to make a quality product. Now their Kitchen products need constant Aid.

We bought a brand new KitchenAid 29 cu. ft. French Door Architect Series II and it would not work right from day one. The ice maker is a joke and the freezer will not cool... Our ice cream was liquid by morning time. Luckily we didnt put everything in there after we thought something was off about the freezer. WHY in the WORLD would KitchenAid sell such a piece of junk to their customers. I bought this thinking it would be good quality, but all I have is headaches. I hope I can just return this and get something else...SOON!!! I would love to know if there is ever a lawsuit over this fridge because I would sue-thats how bad this fridge is.

Kitchen Aid KUDS301XSS8 - This dishwasher is a piece of junk! Expensive & for no reason the computer board turns on & off during cycle if you stand in front of dishwasher! (Interrupting was cycles... Repairman told us to put it on control lock where it gets stuck in lock mode & beeps obnoxiously at you! This feature doesnt work.) Our biggest complaint & the one the repairman said he fixed ALL the time... is the wheels on top rack. We had the dishwasher less than a year & two, rack fell apart! Well not even a year after repair, it broke again! Do not buy this dishwasher!!! I have no idea why we ever listened to the lame sales guy at Sears... Hmmmm maybe the fact that he had been unemployed for quite sometime & the job was new... Should have been a sign!

As has been noted in other reviews, KitchenAid has issues with the ice makers not functioning correctly and prematurely breaking. Not even three years into owning the refrigerator, the ice maker has now completely burned up. Brought the issue to KitchenAid/Whirlpools attention and they just dodged questions about the issue being a known issue and inquiries if there have been other reports of the problem (which there obviously have been, as one can see clearly in the reviews). Instead, they tried to get us to contact the seller and ask them to cover the repair. $2400.00 for a refrigerator is not cheap... We wont be buying KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, or any other brand under the Whirlpool umbrella after this experience. (We have several KitchenAid appliances, as we used to think they were a good company.)

I purchased a model # KFIS29PBMS refrigerator thru Whirlpool VIP program in Nov 2014 for 2K (List price nearly 3K!). Since nearly the day we bought this POS the fridge makes a non-stop buzzing sound. This sound is so loud that we have to turn up our TV at night and on some nights close our bedroom door to drown out the buzzing. We have had 4 service calls and the repair people run their diagnostics and come back with NO ISSUE! I ask them about the sounds and they tell me that it is normal fan operation and that these high end products are more energy efficient and the fans run more. But, I ask them about the DAMN noise and they say that it is normal. I say BS!!! It may be normal for when the fan runs but it cant be normal for them to run all day and all night! Whirlpool keeps telling me that they are sorry that I dont like their resolution and my response is what damn resolution! They have done nothing! I live in FL and am from St. Joe, MI. I am going back to MI in mid-June and I am going to go into Kitchenaid offices and go into their product showroom and see if their products buzz all day long. If they do I will shut up and if they dont I am going to play my videos for them all day long and see what they say. My product is junk and obviously they do not care!

We spent $665.11 on a microwave that lasted 1 year and 2 months. As is does not fall into their 1 year warranty, they refuse to help or compensate in any way. We had the same issue with a $900 dishwasher we purchased from KitchenAid a couple of years ago. BOTH appliances stopped working after exactly 1 year! It would seem that they are in the business of manufacturing CHEAP China appliances that break shortly after their warranty so you must purchase another one.Customer service is no help at all. They just read from a script repeating the same sentence over and over again. Other companies like Black & Decker and GE have much better customer service and ability to help customers when their products do not work. Would shop from them instead! I purchased a side by side Kitchenaid (KRFC704FSS00) fridge in April 2017 and was so excited for this beautiful appliance! It was their newest model, with all the latest features and upgraded interior and had a hefty price tag. After a few months our ice machine was not working properly so we had to have a technician come out. They told us this machine does not produce large amounts of ice and makes it every 3 hours. With a family of six this is not cutting it, there is never any ice!!!Woke up this morning to find our Fridge had DIED!!! No power and all the food was spoiling. The board blew out after 16 months of purchasing. Absolutely ridiculous. And of course since it has been over 1 year since purchase, so it is no longer covered under warranty. $500 later to have the unit fixed. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I will never purchase a Kitchenaid/Whirlpool product again!

I own a Kitchenaid dishwasher model # KUDS301XSS9. We bought it from Sears less than 3 years ago with the service warranty package. Ive had to have a service guy out 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS to fix 3 separate issues. The lower racks wheels have been falling off and melting, causing damage obviously. They, Kitchenaid, wont send me replacement wheels unless I pay $30 a piece for a pennyworth of plastic. They make their products so poorly that its basically guaranteed to fall apart in no time flat so youll be bound to pay their grossly inflated prices for replacement parts. Do yourself a favor and buy parts elsewhere online for a fraction of the cost. This company is such a joke and refuses to stand behind their products. Lost us and my family as customers for life.

I installed a new Kitchen Aid stove in May, 2010. The ovens preheat and self-cleaning features have not been working correctly since I first used the self-cleaning for the first time. I am 85 years old and gave up a perfectly good older GE stove because I could no longer reach the controls on the rear panel and bought this new Kitchen Aid because it has the controls conveniently on the front panel. It was a very bad decision. This is a very expensive junk. If you are considering buying a Kitchen Aid stove, dont do it. I am very unhappy with mine. I recommend you find a good used American-made made product and have it reconditioned by a qualified appliance repair person. I cannot afford this kind of ** product. Now, I do not have a stove that works and cannot afford to buy a new one. I would be happy to be involved in a law suit against Kitchen Aid.

Our KitchenAid built-in electric/convection oven started a fire and burnt a turkey to a crisp because I made the oh-so-unthinkable mistake of basting it during cooking. The repairman came out and said its normal for the broiler to come on during the cooking cycle if the oven temperature falls, but I cant see how any appliance manufacturer can think this is a good idea. Aside from the fact that this feature makes conventional roasting and other types of cooking impossible, more critically, it represents a serious design flaw that makes the oven a fire hazard. I have contacted the CEO of Whirlpool about this hazard but I do not expect any satisfaction given the response KitchenAid had when a cheap relay on our 13-month-old refrigerator failed causing the temperature to rise and all the food within to spoil. They simply told us that since the fridge was one month past the warranty, it wasnt their problem. How can they justify making appliances that have the potential to harm people?

Then, we muted the TV and we heard a second loud noise and went to see. The glass from the oven was scattered all over the floor and even reached the living room and adjacent rooms. We all were saying we are lucky nobody was at the kitchen at the moment it happened, but now I think there are many similar cases and want to do something. This event happened yesterday night, 10-19-12. Today, we will contact KitchenAid about it but as we read from the other complaints, it looks like Kitchen Aid is not going to cooperate. We purchased a KitchenAid SuperBa double oven KEBC207KSS05 a couple of year
We purchased a KitchenAid SuperBa double oven KEBC207KSS05 a couple of years ago and have had it repaired 4 times already. Two times because the control panel went out because it got too hot the repair person said. The fan became very loud and we had to replace that and the fourth time was because the upper oven stopped working but the lower oven still worked. Since the fan was replaced, the oven still makes the control panel get too hot and everything totally shuts off. After it cools down, the panel comes back on. Cant bake anything over 375 degrees it appears, or it shuts off. One piece of advice from the repairman, besides not using the self clean is to cut a large rectangle out of the side of the cabinet and put a steel vent cover over the hole. I shouldnt have to cut a part my cabinet in order to have this crappy oven work better. The double oven we had in before the KitchenAid was a Kenmore from 1992 and still worked perfectly and never gave us a lick of trouble. Now we need to scrap this one and look to spend money that we shouldnt have to. Its so hard to believe that the workmanship at KitchenAid is so bad. Where is their pride?

As others have written, KitchenAid describes this as cosmetic and will do nothing about it. I talked with 3 customer service persons and emailed pictures. New appliance in Feb. 2017 has not worked since plugged. Have scheduled tech, out 2 times and no show. Finally in May someone showed up and he could not repair it and need to order parts. Parts arrived and installed and fridge still not working and water pouring out of the door. Week later another tech showed up and said he knew exactly what was wrong. He orders parts or so I thought. 3 weeks later now June 12, 2017 and still no part. Called their tech repair and they did not know when the part would be in. I doubt they even ordered the part. Called Whirlpool again. Their people did not know when the part would be in??? So I insisted to know where they ordered the part or how to call them about the part. Finally they gave me the parts dealer. Still no part may have to locate myself. Dont buy Kitchenaid warranty. Worthless. I have a 5 year warranty may have to use as toilet paper. Purchased from Metro Builders and they have completely washed their hands of the matter. Now if I purchase a new car and drove it off the lot and the engine fell out who is going to fix it or do I drive it to Detroit for repairs. My check is made out to Metro Builders. NO ONE IS STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. GIVES A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO AMERICAN MADE. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED. They have no honor any longer $$$.

I have tried to be patient, but a week after an oven fire, that had it happened when we were gone, would have started a kitchen/house fire. As it is I had to call the fire department because I could not turn off the oven. A malfunction allowed the igniter to heat and by the time I woke up (4 am), the house was filled with acrid smoke smell. I went out and thought I had finally canceled the igniter (the cancel button seemed to turn things off after several attempts). Then my husband woke up and wondered what was going on and why, after 1/2 hour the smell was still very strong. Come to find out when I went back in that the igniter was still on and the cover plate over the heating element was bright red with flames shooting out of the sides (of the plate). It was self-contained in the oven, but so hot that when the fire fighters came, they couldnt touch it. They had to turn off the gas and unplug the cord.As I said, its been a week and there has been no call back after the initial phone call to send out a technician (The technician was great and found where there was a short on the board). What is most sobering to me is that my husband is disabled. Had the oven fire started on a day when I was gone volunteering, he could have been trapped by a house fire. I explained this and still no response. I would highly recommend not buying anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool until they have a better service record.

Our son bought a KitchenAid KUDS201XWH4 replacement dishwasher for us a few years ago. Like everyone else has mentioned, the prongs holding the upper rack rollers in place broke off causing precarious loading of the upper rack, in order to keep the wheels from falling off completely. I went online and ordered two replacement roller assemblies. Surprisingly, even though order acknowledgement indicated out of stock, the parts were delivered in a few days. Removal and reassembly of the roller component assemblies proved to be puzzling at first, but it didnt take long to get everything mounted correctly and working again. Now we stack the top rack with heavier items toward the rear, not in the front. Think teeter-totter balance. Unfortunately, after a recent momentary power outage our dishwashers wash cycle starts, but soon changes to the Cancel/Drain cycle then stops completely. Now what?

I have never written a review, but compelled to because my experience with KitchenAid has been so terrible. I wish it was possible to rate KitchenAid zero stars. I have had nothing but problems with my brand new KitchenAid refrigerator (model #krmf706ess01) since I purchased it in January of 2017. In the last 7 months I have had to call KitchenAid on numerous occasions. The first time I called regarding the freezer because it had completely frozen over - The drawers would not slide open/shut because it was frozen solid. There was blocks of ice everywhere and all of our food was freezer burned. A technician from one of their hired contractors came out to fix the problem and afterward instructed us to empty the freezer for 24 hours and everything would go back to normal. We did so - throwing away all of the freezer burned food which was probably close to $300 worth of food. We refilled the freezer after that 24 hour period and the same thing happened again! Ruining all of my food again, and refreezing over again. At the same time, we began having problems with the water dispenser/ice maker leaking into the fridge. We called again and KitchenAid said they would send someone out. They scheduled the appointment for August 3rd - using the same repair contractor. I was given a 4 hour window meaning I had to stay home from work. August 3rd - nobody shows up or calls. I call Kitchen Aid to let them know that happened and after sitting on hold for 57 minutes, I was finally told that repair contractor needed to order a gasket and it would take 2-3 days to come in, but because of the inconvenience of nobody showing up, they would work with my schedule when rescheduling and give me a targeted time. Even though I complained about my food being ruined 2 times, nothing was done or said about that.2-3 days then passes by and nobody from the repair contractor called. 4 days later, someone finally calls and said they had to also order an ice maker in addition to the gasket. They have not seen the leakage problem at this point, but theyre ordering parts? Another 3 days passes and nobody called, so I called them. They let me know they had us scheduled for a technician to come out the next day. When was somebody going to tell me? They said they would try to get us a morning appointment. When I told them KitchenAid said they would work with my schedule, they just said they would try. I immediately called KitchenAid, explained this whole fiasco all over again, and the customer service rep offered me a $125 gift card for the ruined food, and said to have the technician come out one more time, and if problems still persisted after that, they would give us the option to either replace the unit or choose another refrigerator. The next day the repair contractor came with no parts that they claimed they had ordered and were waiting on. The guy looked at the freezer, said Wow thats really bad and claimed we needed a new door, which Kitchen Aid would need to approve, and would take 4-6 weeks to come in. He looked at the ice maker and said he would take care of that another time. I called Kitchen Aid immediately. The representative proceeded to tell me that they will not replace the refrigerator that their policy requires a certain amount of information and severity and our case does not qualify for a replacement as per their policy. He said the representative I already spoke to should have never promised me something thats not true. When I expressed my concerns - needing to miss work again, not being able to store food, having only $125 reimbursed even though I probably lost about $500 worth of food - his response was I understand, but offered no real solution. The only option he gave me was to send someone from a different repair contractor for a second opinion. So now I am left waiting on another appointment, with another technician, along with another day lost from work. The pictures Ive attached dont even begin to show how terrible the freezer ended up getting - this only shows the beginning of the problem. I am unbelievably disappointed in the product and service. When you spend thousands of dollars on a new refrigerator, you expect it to work properly.

We bought this KitchenAid stainless steel 5-Door French door refrigerator at Best Buy in Nov 2016. After a couple of days of installation, we noticed the freezer frosting, so we went back to Best Buy and requested a replacement. The replacement same model refrigerator was delivered in Dec. In Jan 2017, the same frosting problem occurred. We called Best Buy asking to get it replaced again but told us to call KitchenAid because the purchase date was already over 1 month. Called KitchenAid and asked them if we can just get the refrigerator replaced or get a refund and told them that Ive read a lot of reviews about this refrigerator with freezer frosting and that KitchenAid should have known about this problem already. But KitchenAid customer service lack knowledge. All they know is schedule repairs. From here started the repair process. Theyve sent this repair people several times (6x) already coming up with different ways to fix the problem but the freezer frosting still persist. This last fix that KitchenAid tech support told the repair people is to replace the door and it will take 4-6 wks to get the part. It is very inconvenient. All Im asking KitchenAid is give us a refund since it is new so we can get a good working refrigerator. But all they can do is schedule a repair.

Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator to replace my ten year old Kenmore. Model is KRFF300ESS. After a few months...noticed spots of rust on the stainless steel. Called KitchenAid...and they replaced the doors. After ten days of having the new doors installed, I can see rust forming on the steel again! I never even touched them with any sort of cleaner at all! Their customer service experience has been the worst. They keep promising theyll resolve the issue but never follow through. At this point theyre blaming me. Very disappointed in the construction of the product and their customer service. Ive owned multiple competing brands of appliances and other stainless steel products in my kitchen and have never experienced this. I cant in good conscience recommend KitchenAid refrigerators.

My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher. I must be going crazy because I can hardly believe that a dishwasher cant wash dishes! Ive been pulling my hair out for 4 years trying to figure out why my dishes are so bad. I have convinced myself its our hard water (although we have a water softener) or the lack of phosphates in the detergents (I only use powder) and I even bought some contraband phosphate commercial detergent form amazon... No luck.I have to show you how bad my glasses are, so bad my kids have stopped using them because they are dirty. A lot of it appears to be etching, some is a film that can be scraped off with a razor, but none will come off with a scrubber or soap. This build up is an endless cycle of more crap sticking to it with every wash! I hand wash glasses all the time and refuse to buy another set of new glasses only to ruin them.I must say other than the door hinge cords breaking I havent had the misfortune of ANY broken parts or broken controls (crossing fingers!). I use my dishwasher every day. I do have a tip on the door hinge. DO NOT pay a repair person to do it. The part is $15 and 15-30 minutes of your time. Also note that we installed generic parts and we ended up with the loudest creaky door you have ever heard. The fix was to put the OLD wheels on the new part, and it worked like a charm (apparently the new wheels are made from a different plastic!) My request from fellow consumers... What dishwasher will you replace yours with? I just want this to go away!!!

We bought all new appliances 4 years ago. The salesman at the appliance store said KitchenAid was the best. Well apparently he must get a kickback from them because nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the KF1S29BBMS00 french door refrigerator actually sucks! Shortly after we had it the freezer stopped freezing. At least this was covered by a recall. Now, the unit is 4 years old, the ice maker stops working. We called the repair place and they came out and very cavalierly said, Oh yeah there is a service bulletin on this. You need an add on kit to stop the unit from freezing up.OK to my thinking service bulletin is an admission of wrongdoing. Poor design in the first place. So since the unit is out of warranty and we chose not to pay for a ripoff extended warranty we have to pay over $430 to fix what was not designed right in the first place! How can this be our fault? Why would we need a warranty to cover a design flaw? Now while waiting for the repair person to come back with the part that they had to order the drawer in the freezer will not freeze. The lower main compartment is fine but the door will not freeze. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID APPLIANCE. Their poor design and engineering becomes your problem.

Kitchenaid Gas free standing range. I always thought Kitchenaid was a dependable brand. I believe this range cost us $1700. I liked that it had convection oven and that the grates on top covered the entire top so no matter what size pan or griddle you used it did not wobble. This range turned out to be the worst range I have ever owned! The repair man knew us by name including our dogs! The other terrible thing about it is we had to order this range and had to pay in advance of receiving it. Purchased at Westar in Tucson Arizona. The range did not come in for 5!!! Months.AND to make matters worse our warranty started from the day we ordered it! Kitchenaid policy! I went on facebook and wished I had done that before the purchase because there were literally hundreds and hundreds of complaints. When I suggested we all get together and start a class action law suit Kitchenaid blocked me from posting on their wall. I will NEVER buy a Kitchenaid again. My advice would be stay away from Kitchenaid. They are not what they used to be. You pay alot of money for nothing!I now research completely before I buy any appliances. I take my time, I ask around. Sometimes the less expensive brands are 100% better. It took so long to get this range that after my complaining weekly (because every week they said it would be in that week) they finally gave me a GE use in the meantime since I had NO range. The GE they loaned me was a $700 range but after finally getting the Kitchenaid I realized the GE ran circles around the KA.

We decided to invest in a good dishwasher that we could rely on. We spent over $1300 on model #KUDE48FXBL2. It never really worked quite right. There would be periods when the keypad would not work. After roughly one year of use, it has died. The repair service quickly determined that it needed a new keypad and some sort of electrical part in the door. KitchenAid does not have the parts and does not know when they will be available. I am hand washing all of my dishes while a $1300 dishwasher sits in my kitchen with an out of order sign on it. There is no end in sight and we get no answers. We are trying to decide if we throw it out (and the $1300 we spent) or wait to see when it can be repaired (and how much it will cost). We spent a lot of money on a dishwasher that only gave us about one year of use. We will not buy an appliance from KitchenAid or any of their affiliated companies again.

We purchased the above-captioned refrigerator in February 2013. For many month after the purchase, we dealt with a bottom freezer door that would freeze shut and could not be opened without using tools. After four different repairs, the door was finally fixed. Just this month the freezer and ice-maker completely failed. Initially we were told it was a control board. Luckily, we had a second opinion (which we paid for) to find out what was really wrong. Both evaporators have to be replaced. The freezer has been out for two weeks and will not be fixed until the end of this week. The refrigerator is defective and should be replaced.

My KitchenAid KBRS36FMX02 refrigerator frequently was losing temperature and started making a high pitch humming noise. I called an approved KitchenAid service company to come take a look and it was determined it was the control panel. I was told by the technician that he would try a panel on his truck that supposedly would only work in my refrigerator 50% of the time. He uninstalled mine and replaced it with another that did not work. My old one was reinstalled and now is totally nonfunctional. I found this hard to believe that KitchenAid would have parts that would work only 50% of the time. I then learned that with the tsunami of 2011 the factory that made the control board in my fridge was wiped out, so no more control boards. So 5 years later, there still is no replacement? Shame on you KitchenAid.I was told that since my refrigerator is out of warranty that they have no solution but for me to buy a new refrigerator. The replacement cost of my built-in unit is approximately $7500.00. KitchenAid would offer not even a discount. So since they could not provide a $250.00 part for their product I have to buy a new fridge?? Very very poor! I would never buy a KitchenAid product ever again!!!

I purchased the KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM704ESS0, for around $1400 in 2015. After three years of light use (there are only two of us) the wash motor seized up and needs to be replaced at a cost of $500-$600. I called KitchenAid and they told me the motor was no longer in warranty so they would do nothing. This is my fourth KitchenAid dishwasher in forty years. None of my other KitchenAid dishwashers have ever needed a repair of any sort. In fact, I have never even had a service call on any of my other KitchenAid dishwashers. The previous dishwashers were replaced due to kitchen remodeling or upgrading, not because they stopped working. I cannot believe that a main component of this expensive dishwasher would last only three years. I would think twice about buying a new KitchenAid. I know two other people who have had their KitchenAid dishwasher motors fail after only approximately three years. Sad that the KitchenAid quality isnt there anymore! Also sad that the company is OK with a customer spending $1400 and having the product last for only three years!

I was told by KitchenAid it is my responsibility to unplug. I guess if you really want a KitchenAid fridge no sleeping or going out of town. I was told this did not meet their standard for safety hazard yet they could not give the standards that do! The ice maker has gone out. The water flow takes 5 minutes to fill the glass. The best was that I did not need to worry about fire, because the refrigerator walls would contain it! Keep in mind the bottom portion is cardboard!!! My last call the guy hung up on me!!! My experience with the KitchenAid Company was awful. I purchased a high end refrigerator with a 5 year warranty. The icemaker and freezer at the bottom broken. No ice is producing and the freezer is not keeping food frozen The repairmen came in three times to fix this problem. Three different times, not fixable. They actually said this refrigerator cannot be repaired. Called Kitchenaid and they advised me that they will give me 10 or 15% off of a new refrigerator. Then I spoke to another supervisor and he said the best he can do is give me 35% off of a new refrigerator. So what they are telling me is that I can spend another $4500.00 on a new refrigerator because that is what it would cost me with the discount, so they can do this to me again when the second one breaks.I told them that they are not standing behind their product and they indicated to me that is the best they can do. What the heck does that mean. The best they can do. Why would I purchase another Kitchenaid product when they cannot stand behind their product. If they dont do something about this issue, I will never buy another kitchenaid product and either will anyone else because I am the news media. I know how to get around this whole community. I am so angry. I have a warranty and my refrigerator is broken and no one is doing anything about this issue. Kitchenaid has to do the right thing.

We have an 18-month old KitchenAid refrigerator - high end model with the freezer on the bottom. It began to leak water that settled at the bottom of the freezer. After a time, it would freeze so much that it would eventually leak out onto the floor. We looked in the book - no help there. I found your forum and a problem just like ours (same model even). They said it turned out to be a grommet that was too small and that a new style had been developed. So we wrote to KitchenAid about this. They denied that there were any problems. After several conversations with them and a copy of one of your forum notes on this, they finally did agree to at least pay for the part. Well the appliance man came and fixed it. It was indeed the old style grommet. He said it happens all the time. We wrote to them again and asked them about paying the labor (part was about $12 and the labor is $100). No, they would not do this. Apparently, according to the repairman, this refrigerator is not the only one with this problem. This model is also sold by Maytag and some other - maybe Sears? Just slap a different name on them and they all have this problem. So buyer beware. Make sure that they check this out before you bring it home or you too will be paying the price to fix it. We really bought what we thought was a quality product (now that we are retired and didnt want to have to deal with repairs all the time). So much for that! KitchenAid support was of no help at all. If I had to do it over again, I would not buy another KitchenAid product!

We purchased a rather expensive KitchenAid refrigerator-freezer, model KSF2
We purchased a rather expensive KitchenAid refrigerator-freezer, model KSF26C7XYY04, one with a computerized, electronic control system located on outside of the freezer door. What we have found is that the ice maker inexplicably quits working and then equally inexplicably starts working again---days later. Two calls to the store where the unit was purchased (Lowes) resulted in two different technicians coming out to fix the problem. The first technician replaced the computerized electronic control unit. This did not solve the problem. The second technician had no lasting success either, even confirming that the temperature control settings were at the factory recommended levels. With the problem still continuing, we phoned KitchenAid and were eventually transferred back to Lowes. The only solution offered was to have still another technician come out to fix the problem (at our expense). A return chat contact with KitchenAid produced the same results. What is disappointing is the extent to which KitchenAid refuses to accept responsibility for a design/manufacture flaw in their product and the futility of their so-called solutions. Why would anyone pay for a third technician to address the same problem when two others couldnt? Is the third technician (reportedly more of a KitchenAid authorized technician) an admission that the first two that Lowes sent out were something less than competent? Why wasnt a KitchenAid authorized technician sent out the first time? I was asked if I purchased an extended warranty. What good is an extended warranty, if the same problem cant be fixed under the first warranty period? We need better products and better solutions.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDS30IXSS4) about 3 1/2 years ago when we remodeled the kitchen. The plastic clips that held the upper rack in place broke 2 different times... This was shortly after the warranty expired so I paid both times for the repair. KitchenAid did finally replace this plastic clip with a metal clip on all of their dishwashers but they called it an upgrade and not a recall so they did not reimburse me for the almost $300.00 I had spent on previously repairing the faulty clips. Shortly after the plastic clips had broken the second time the dishwasher made a funny noise. I shut the washer off and then restarted it... Upon restarting it...it seemed fine... However, shortly after this it stopped cleaning the dishes...This was right in the interim when KitchenAid replaced the plastic clip and went to the metal. What we did not realize is that pieces of the broken plastic went down into the chopper/grinder and broke that section of the dishwasher. When the repair man finally realized what had happened we called KitchenAid. I asked KitchenAid to step up and take responsibility for the faulty design and they declined saying that there was not enough evidence/proof that it was faulty design. Needless to say I will never purchase another KitchenAid/Whirlpool product only because they will not step up and take responsibility for their product. Final note...this new repair will cost another $300.00.

We purchased the KUDS201XBL1 in April. To this day, we have only seen the clean light 6 times. We have been through 2 different repair companies, 9 emails to KitchenAid, too many phone calls to count, a new control board, being told to turn up our water heater, being told to run the hot water in the sink every time the machine drains and refills, telling us our pipes are bad, maybe it is the motor, the heating element, the control panel again, etc. What we have determined on our own is that the Pro-Wash & Heavy Duty Cycles will not complete. Normal wash and 1 hour wash will complete occasionally as long as the heat dry option is not on. Currently the latest repairman (an outside vendor who in his defense has really tried to work with the company) is waiting for KitchenAid to get back to him. KitchenAid has already told us our warranty does not include replacement, only repair. Well, at this point, I dont expect we will be getting even the repair had. We have basically paid over $700 for a dish rinser.

In October, yet again, another new motor needed. It still didnt work, did not even get the dishes wet. The company repairman from Platinum Factory Service came back again, ten days later, and replaced a board and wire assembly. Still didnt work; same problem as the one he came over twice now to fix, and both times left me with a machine that didnt work. Lowes, where I bought it, sent over their own repairman. It needed a new motor! After six weeks with a machine I couldnt use, it was finally fixed. Its been working okay now for almost two months.

I was talked into purchasing a KitchenAid dishwasher by a sales associate. I went in to buy a Bosch (great product) but was talked into spending a little more because KitchAid is suppose to be the best. I am here to tell you it is NOT!! First, my heating element went out. It was a recall for that particular year so they sent me the parts free of charge but I had to pay someone to replace it! Then the wheels dry rotted on my top rack. That was another recall so once again, they sent me the part (top rack) free of charge, but it was up to me to install it. NOW...the wheels on my bottom rack dry rotted, not a recall (how odd bc the top rack did the exact same thing), this time they are not doing anything to remedy the faulty part!! Well, calling Whirlpool customer service was the worst customer service I have ever received. After 2 calls and 2 hours later, finally got an appointment booked for a tech to come repair issue, but was told this repair would be at my expense as Whirlpool disputes the fact that this is a recall, even though I had the service point number quoted to me by a qualified repair technician. Regardless refrigerator needed repair. Was told I would receive call from agent evening before appointment date. No call. Appointment window I was given was 9am-5pm, by 2pm not even a phone call yet. Called CS line again and was advised no tech would be coming out to my home. No sympathy at all from any agent I dealt with, in fact, found them all to be extremely rude!! I read a post where someone said their KitchenAid fridge had finally broken down after 15 years and that it served her well. Major appliances used to last decades, and still should last that long. Think about how much you pay for them 15 years is nothing. Our fridge has a pull down bin in the door that pops open every time we open the door. Even with nothing inside, rendering the space useless. Plus, the bottom of the freezer pools with water which then turns to ice making it impossible to close the freezer door. So far I have had to unplug it and thaw it out five times. If that sounds like nothing, remember you have to put all your groceries somewhere. Tonight instead of enjoying the beautiful summer evening, I made many trips up and down the basement stairs bringing groceries back into the fridge. My oven is also a mess. The knobs get so hot that my friend burned her arm on them. I cant imagine how this passed inspection. NOT SAFE if a toddler was around. Thats okay because she was in the middle of a remodel and was considering my oven until that happened, and I filled her in on the rest. Also, the back panel on the stove is made of resin! I thought it was stainless in the store. So needless to say it is peeling. I guess that is the reason they had the stupid idea to put the smaller burners in the back and the mega burners in front. So much fun trying to reach over a large pot of boiling water to stir a small saucepan in back. Does KitchenAid have third graders designing their appliances??? Clearly not someone who has any knowledge of a cooks needs. I will never purchase anything by KitchenAid ever again. Not even a can opener.

This is a good looking, rather expensive refrigerator. It has a very well styled and functional interior; more room than I anticipated and much easier to store things neatly in freezer than my last side by side. The major disappointment is the drawers in the refrigerator part. They are so flimsy that they came apart and had to be taken out and put back together after using a short time. This was extremely disappointing since the rest of this appliance is sturdy, well thought out and beautifully styled. What were they thinking? I am very careful dealing with opening and closing filled drawers so they dont come apart again. I would certainly make checking out how well the drawers were made a priority when buying a new refrigerator. Something I would never have thought of before.

We just built a house and bought all new shiny appliances, including a KitchenAid refrigerator side-by-side, counter deep, very expensive. On DAY 1, the freezer temp was raising, we kept lowering it back to 0 F. On DAY 2, it doesnt go below 16. Now day 5 and its 32, and doesnt respond to pushing temp control down. Technician may come tomorrow. Meanwhile, food will start spoiling. Also, no instructions came with it, except how to install. Gee, thanks! NOT BUY THIS!

I have had this Kitchenaid Electric Double Oven Range 2 & 1/2 years and I have noticed that the top oven floor is cracked and the porcelain has chipped. I noticed this the last time I cleaned the oven and when I was wiping the ash out I saw small pieces of the blue porcelain coming up. I called KitchenAid and was told that this is not covered under warranty. I paid $2000.00 for this oven.

Model # KUDL021RBS4 - As two retired old folks, we use a lot of paper plates and have used our expensive all stainless dishwasher no more than three times a month. It was purchased from Lowes 2007. A month ago, the LEDs on the control panel started flashing. Wife called KA and they connected us to a tech. No problem, he says, change the circuit board. No problem, I say. I build computer up from parts. Ill change out the part from Whirlpool. The washer worked once and the lights started flashing again. Washer wont run. The internet chat line person knew nothing about that. He sent me a copy of what was included with the owners manual that doesnt reflect the actual model. Question is, do I waste another $250 with further service calls and parts or do I buy a disposable one for only $247 and give up on those pretty premium expensive disposable appliances? Samsung did me wrong, now Kitchen Dis-Aid. Why pay more? Whats the point?

I purchased this dishwasher in October 2011 which was a Kitchen Aid model KUDC10IXWH4. This was installed in a basement kitchen which is only used at New Years and Easter and is run for a total of 10 loads per year. The control panel failed within the first five loads and we needed factory service. When the service tech arrived I was informed that we had to pay the labor and service call. This failure was in early 2102 after the unit was run for the New Year holiday. We were told by the tech that we should consider the extended warranty because these units constantly fail. The unit starts by itself. The thermal fuse fails about every 6th load at a replacement cost of $138 per trip. Kitchen Aid is absolutely useless in this process and deny any responsibility in this matter. As this unit has just been run enough to empty the sample bottle of Jet Dry and had for service calls I would tell anyone never to buy another Kitchen Aid appliance as we will not ever again. Their customer service is horrible!

I never had a dirty dish come out of it; provided you used the jet dry. No matter what I threw at it, they came out clean and spotless. The controls were on the top edge of the door so hidden during use and programmed before closing the door. The dishwasher ran whisper quiet and had multiple cleaning cycles; including pot scrubber. It should also be noted that the heater in this unit heats everything to the point of sterilization. You can actually smell the clean when the dishes come out. This dishwasher had the adjustable top rack so cleaning large items in the bottom was very easing. It also had extra large capacity so it took a lot of dishes to fill it. Stainless steel, and hidden controls were very nice. The large, rounded, stainless door handle was the only protrusion from under the counter so it blended well into the cabinetry. Kitchenaid 24-inch Stainless Steel with Proscrub. It came with the standard warranty and I paid to extend it an additional 2 years. It also came with a nicely written owners manual which was clear and concise on the operations.

KitchenAid drop-in stove/oven bought in January of 2015. DONT YOU JUST HATE IT WHEN YOU BUY SOMETHING AS BIG AS A STOVE -- RELIABLE ONLY ON THE NAME? It is my fault for buying from SEATTLE HOME APPLIANCE THAT WAS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. I didnt know that but it was KitchenAid so was thinking they would stand behind their product. I paid for the person to come and I paid for a new element on a new drop-in stove/oven and it made no difference at all. IT SUCKS!!! I dont cook/bake at all. I cant afford to buy another one and Im almost 70 and just wanted to bake cookies. well you cant!!! They need to replace these terrible products and give me one that does work.

Ive had a KitchenAid model KSC24C8WH refrigerator for over a year now. Technically, it works as it cools food as intended. However, the unit makes a loud grinding noise periodically that sounds like a chainsaw gradually cutting through a metal pipe at different speeds. As you might imagine, its very irritating. I highly recommend trying a different brand. Hearing this noise drives me nuts and I cant wait to replace the unit which will happen much sooner than it would have with a refrigerator that works the way a normal refrigerator works.

Our KitchenAid model KUDD01DSSS stainless steel dishwasher is a double drawer unit with plastic interior. It is very nice for my wife and I and small loads but probably not as useful for a family. It is a bit noisy and seems to run quite a long time. This is a 2006 model, so perhaps a newer model would be more efficient and address the noise issue. Overall, I have been satisfied with this dishwasher.

We purchased our new KitchenAid oven in July 2010. We finally moved into our new home in May 2011. It is now early 2014 and the ovens blue enamel lining is peeling and chipping and the racks have rusted. I contacted Lowes where we purchased the appliance and the extended warranty. A repair man was sent. Upon looking at the oven, he called KitchenAid and told them that the oven was not only chipped in many areas, but that those areas were beginning to rust. KitchenAid would do nothing, stating it was a cosmetic problem. Same with the warranty company. After further research, I have discovered I am not the only one with this complaint. Do not buy their products, they do not stand behind them and will not return phone calls. KitchenAid is a rip off and my $2,700.00 KitchenAid mistake makes me sick.

I wrote a letter to the Jeffrey Fettig, Chairman and Chief Executive Office
I wrote a letter to the Jeffrey Fettig, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Whirlpool and Marc Bitzer, President of Whirlpool North America regarding a part they no longer made for my 5 yr. old KitchenAid refrigerator. Because of problems I was having with the refrigerator lights and the ice maker not working a repairman told me I needed to replace the electronic control board but that KitchenAid no longer made the part. I called KitchenAid customer service and was told I had to send the control board to Illinois for repair which meant my refrigerator would not be operating for a week or more. After spending hours online I found that Sears Parts Direct had a replacement control Board for my KitchenAid model which I ordered. By some miracle I was able to get the lights working by making an adjustment on the door hinges and the ice maker suddenly started to work. I returned the control board I received from Sears. What is interesting to me is the fact that I never received any response to my letter to Whirlpool senior management. In the letter I asked them 3 questions:When and why did they make the decision to stop producing an integral component for a KitchenAid product causing major inconvenience and problems for consumers? Why does KitchenAid Parts online show this component as available when it is no longer made? Why would a Whirlpool control board be defective in a 5 year old product? (As stated above my control board was not the problem after all.) I also told them I had noted the number of KitchenAid product complaints on Consumeraffairs.com. The fact that I never received any kind of follow up shows Whirlpools total lack of integrity and concern for their customers. The JOKE is Whirlpools Vision and Mission statements..... Pride, passion and performance.... Creating Loyal Customers for Life. We are a company of people captivated with creating loyal customers. Unfortunately the joke is on their customers.

In mid February I wrote a complaint about all the problems I had with my # kfis29 French door fridge. I contacted whirlpool who makes the unit and told them that when I call kitchen aid they wouldn`t do nothing for me! After a week the place that sold the unit to me who had nothing to do with the problem also called whirlpool and told them the story. Guess what? He told me to come in and pick out a new fridge of equal value and that whirlpool corp. was giving me a full refund. So the store rep, told me that he had very little problems with GE and that if he did GE backed him 100% so I bought a GE French door, super quiet and they also threw in a 5-year extended warranty! PS DON`T GIVE UP! KEEP CALLING UNTIL THEY SATISFY YOU. WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THESE AND JUST WANT WHAT WE PAY FOR! THE STORE I USED WAS RICHMOND APPLIANCE, STATEN ISLAND NEW YORK! We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher Model KUDS30CX. The first one didnt work right and we were within 30 days so we exchanged for the same thing, thinking it was just a fluke - worst mistake ever! The second one was repaired over 8-10 times. Finally, KitchenAid replaced it with the same thing. Now Ive had this one for 2 months or so and after my last cycle, the dishwasher wont stop running. It showed clean and was done but kept making noise. It would stop then start, stop then start. I tried to cancel the cycle. Then without any lights on or anything, it kept starting and stopping. The only way to completely get it to stop was to unplug. So once again I have no dishwasher. I will have to take time off work for the serviceman. This model should be completely recalled and customers given full refunds for the amount of hassle involved.

In the Spring of 2006, I purchased 4 new KitchenAid appliances for my new gourmet kitchen. Within a month, the control panel of the slide-in oven had to be replaced. The oven stopped working a month ago. The dishwasher has been performing worse and worse every week for a year.I am tired of rewashing by hand all my gritty dishes and glasses. We rinse dishes before we put them into the machine and they come out dirtier than when they went in! Today I will spend the day taking it apart in the hope of cleaning out the guts and getting it to work. Never had to do this to any other dishwasher before. The Magnatron in the microwave had to be replaced one year ago ($125) out of pocket. Two months ago a chip in the control panel had to be replaced ($150), I should have listened to my girlfriend who said throw it out and buy a different brand. My french-door Kitchen Aid fridge has half a dozen broken plastic parts. I have never seen anything so flimsy. I have no kids man-handling my appliances, they are just poorly made.Thirty years ago I got a top quality Kitchen Aid mixer, it still works like new. That is what led me to buy Kitchen Aid everything when I did my upgrade in 2006. I had forgotten that the mixer was really made by Hobart (a really good company) What happened to Kitchen Aid? When did they start making the worst quality appliances? Or was it always this way with them?

This is the third time in 4 years that we have to get a serviceman in to repair our KA wall oven (KEBS107SSS03). This product has a definite weak point. You cannot use the self-clean function because if you do, your oven quits working. Something burns out. I suspect that it may be a temp high limit switch - unable to get straight answers from Whirlpool who sell KA appliances. Our local dealer was unable or couldnt be bothered to help. Whirlpool said that this was the first time they heard of this problem!! What a bunch of malarkey. I spent $8,000.00 on a wall oven, fridge, gas countertop stove, dishwasher and microwave. We have a 6-year-old Kitchen Aid (subsidiary of Whirlpool) built-in refrigerator. It is now longer able to maintain the appropriate temperatures, and the problem has been diagnosed by the Kitchen Aid authorized repair service as a defective control board. Unfortunately, Kitchen Aid (and Whirlpool) made or obtained these control boards from a factory in Japan that was destroyed by the Tsunami (this was over two years ago). Rather than sourcing this part from somewhere else, Kitchen Aid has decided to tell its customers that they are on their own. The only possibility seems to be to remove the control board and ship it to a company (Core Centric) in Illinois to have it refurbished. If the part gets lost, or damaged, or is unable to be refurbished, you are just out of luck. I assume this is the same situation for other parts in Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool appliances, as I assume the factory in Japan made more than just one part. This is outrageous conduct on the part of Kitchen Aid - I thought there was a Federal requirement that parts be available for items manufactured and sold for at least 7 years. The tsunami was unfortunate, but surely two years is long enough for Kitchen Aid to have found a way to obtain repair parts for its appliances. This sounds like a great opportunity for a class action lawsuit against Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool. There must be lots of customers that have been harmed by their action, or inaction. In our case, we will end up spending hundreds of dollars sending the control board out to be refurbished, and probably going for an extended period without a refrigerator (cant work with no control board). If the control board cant be repaired (for whatever reason), we will have to purchase a replacement built-in refrigerator, and have our kitchen cabinets redone so the new refrigerator will fit - estimated cost of that would be $10,000 or more.

This is the first time I am taking out the time to write a review in hopes I can save people from making the bad choice of choosing KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. We have experienced several problems with several of their appliances but by far the worst is with our 42 side by side built in fridge (over $6,000.) Our first unit had so many problems within two years that Whirlpool finally replaced the unit. This was not easy but with good documentation, photos and me just not backing down, they finally did the right thing. We received the new unit on 12/3/08 (so only 4 years ago) and the icemaker which never really worked well is now broken and caused a lot of damage to our kitchen wood floor.Water dripped down through the bottom of the freezer door onto our hardwood floor. Unfortunately, water can do a lot of damage fast. After another frustrating experience with their customer service department, I finally got an appointment with a repair service. I wont even get into the details of that frustrating experience. Well, the ice making unit cannot be replaced because of insulation in the fridge door and we would have to purchase a brand new door. This would cost about $1,400 to replace and take 6 weeks to order the new door. Never mind the expense of replacing the hardwood floors. The Whirlpool Company could not care less. The door is rusted at the bottom, so this went on for a while but we did not notice it until it got really bad and the water started puddling in front of the fridge. Also just two weeks ago, we had work done on our 4 year old Whirlpool washing machine ($350 repair cost) and now it is starting to act up again. I assume that I will have to replace it soon since I am not willing to put any more money into it. These appliances are poorly built and dont represent the quality product they once were. I hope I was able to save someone out there from making the mistake of investing in any Whirlpool (or any of the other lines built by them) large appliance.

Built In Side by Side Purchased 1999. In 2000 the ice dispenser started leaking water and the panel in the door discolored. Thank goodness it was fixed at no charge after threatening to sue. Forward to 2016 refrigerator quit working and it took numerous visits to replace a fan, in the freezer, charge with Freon, replace the compressor, forward to 2017 and the refrigerator needed a valve replaced but the valve was discontinued (door from freezer left slightly opened). July 2018 same fan in freezer went out and had to be replaced. One year warranty on fan. I have a side by side Whirlpool from the late 80s and it runs like a top no problems!!!

My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel
My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel failure twice now. The first time it’s just the oven that would not light and one of the panels (there are evidently 3) was faulty and was replaced under warranty. The second time the electronic control panel short-circuited and turned on the convection fan, which got red hot. Sparks and smoke were coming from under the burners, which is where the panels are located. I was not using the stove at all, but thankfully I was home! I was able to throw the circuit breaker in the basement. When the stove stopped glowing red, I pulled it out from the wall and unplugged it. The repairman that first came is no longer available. I have not been able to find anyone that has a card for both electric and gas. Customer service expressed regret that they could not help me find a repairman, but said to let them know should I find one. What? I will not repair this stove. I consider it an extremely dangerous appliance and do not want it in my house. I feel that Whirlpool should do everything they can to correct the situation for other consumers. Ive found other mention of the same failure with this model.

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances when we built our house in May 2010, after being told that they were top-of-the-line. Regarding our refrigerator (model KBFS25EVMS2) with French doors and freezer on the bottom thats been in the house for about 8 months, we noticed that the right side of its doors was not sealing properly. When I contacted the store about this, I was told that this is a typical problem with the French-door models. Should this not be disclosed upfront?! When I contacted KA about this, I was told that my refrigerator was out of warranty (date of purchase, not date installed) and they refused to help in any way.My problem with all this is my old refrigerator (Maytag) had it for 23 years, and I never replaced a door gasket or worked on it in any way. I dont know a door gasket should go bad in less than a year. Now being two years, it is crumbling and falling apart when you open the door. If you buy from KA or an approved service company, the seal is $199. I purchased one on the internet for $99 and replaced it myself. Buyer, beware! KA does not care about the customer, just the dollar! I will never purchase another KA brand or Whirlpool brand ever again, and I will make sure all my friends know about it too.

Our KitchenAid oven/convection oven combo with Microwave Model # KEMS308SWH blew a fuse while on self-clean. Repairman said that KitchenAid ovens blow fuses all the time while on self-clean. He suggested that I not try to use that feature again because it will happen again and that Kitchen Aid tends to overheat. Repairs are expensive since the entire oven has to be removed from the wall and the back removed to access the fuse. Purchased from Lowe’s 9/21/18 and bought 5 year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Kitchen Aid did not supply refrigerator to Lowe’s until 11/15/18 (they said they weren’t ready to manufacture that model until then). I noticed first of August 2019 (8 months after delivery) that the long deli drawer (under the crispers) was not shutting completely on the left side. It stuck out like something stuck behind it. Upon checking, I found a block of ice (maybe 15” long by 5” high) behind the left half of that drawer. It was still under Manufacture warranty and they sent repairman from local appliance repair in 8/6/18.They returned 8/23/19 to repair. I had to empty the refrigerator and freezer 24 hours before and turn it off to allow the ice to melt I was informed. I did this. A pain is in the neck of course to relocate everything. The repair was made. 6 months later, I notice the same issue with left end of drawer not shutting. Sure enough, the same block of ice had returned. Called Lowe’s and they had no record of first incidence because that was MANUFACTURE WARRANTY incidence. Was rudely told this would be the FIRST incidence of such issue now that under Lowe’s extended warranty.I am set for yet another Appliance repair store to be here 2/13/20. So I’m sure they will also tell me to empty it before they return for repair! And my fear is this will be a temporary fix just like last time. I’ll be reporting it again in another 6-9 months and eventually my warranty will expire and I’ll be out the money because I have a LEMON!!! I think Kitchen Aid should replace it. I also would like to know if this issue has occurred often with this model. Maybe I don’t have a lemon, but the whole model manufactured at that time (between Sept 2018-November 2018) are faulty???

Ive had this refrigerator about 20 years and it works fine except recently. The ice maker has been problematic. It makes ice but we have to take it out manually as the little black door does not work properly anymore and ice cannot be dispensed automatically.

I purchased a Kitchen Aid refrigerator (Superba) and it barely lasted nine years. I was told the quality was so great and it was the top of the line Whirlpool product, yeah right! These products seem to be made to last only about ten years and that’s it, but they still want you to buy American. My next refrigerator will be a Samsung; I just purchased it from Sears and I am already reading it’s a piece of junk, oh well!

How does KitchenAid have an overall 4 star review on this site? All the recent reviews I have read sound SO familiar. All are equally deserving of the 1 star scored. Our experience is no different. We made the mistake of buying based on reputation. KitchenAid had a good reputation (past tense); thats about the sum of it. Very much appears the KitchenAid brand and reputation got flushed down the toilet when they went under the Whirlpool umbrella - both in terms of product quality and customer service. So, here is our story. We furnished our entire kitchen with KitchenAid appliances. Though we have had our appliances about 4 years, the failures started within months. The scratch resistant cook-top easily scratched. KitchenAid wouldnt honor. The bottom handle on the refrigerator has never attached correctly. KitchenAid doesnt seem to care. The dishwasher, however, is the gem! We have had to replace the soap dispenser three (3!) times. We have had to have the entire motor replaced. The wheels on the bottom tray ALL fell off. And, then just this evening, the digital control panel failed. Failure is the operational word here. KitchenAid appliances are a fail. Would NOT recommend to an enemy.

Less than a year old KitchenAid stove oven racks falling off on one side. Thanksgiving turkey dinner and grease spilled over caused fire! This is a safety issue, government needs to step in. The company knows these racks are an issue! I had to pick one star - would have picked none if allowed!

Frustrated and disappointed with KitchenAid regarding refrigerator model nu
Frustrated and disappointed with KitchenAid regarding refrigerator model number KSC23C8EYY03 bought new in October 2014. Purchased refrigerator in October 2014 for residential use. In May 2016, owners observed ice accumulation behind the crisper drawers of the refrigerator. Items in fridge were not being cooled to appropriate temperature and freezer cold but not adequately freezing contents. Not under warranty at that time, owners called a local service company to review situation and a part was replaced.Owner then purchases a warranty, which was enacted in September 2016 when the same issue presented itself. Since then KitchenAid warranty has been called - February 2017, July 2017, October 2017, February 2018 and now April 26, 2018 - all for the same issue. The refrigerator is essentially inoperable during each service request every 2-5 months, resulting in food spoilage and loss of money. Owners are aware of the Lemon Law, however, there is no recognition on KitchenAid Warranty’s part on customer frustration regarding the investment of money into a product that has simply proven 6 times over that it does not work. It wasn’t until speaking with a KitchenAid Warranty supervisor today (April 2018) that owner was informed about the option of filing a food loss claim (again, after dealing with KitchenAid Warranty 5 times since September 2016). We again are having the refrigerator serviced, with the expectation that any repair would prove fruitless, a part will be replaced that won’t get us closer to a Lemon Law review, and resulting in a temporary fix that would need to again be serviced in 3 months time. The service repair technician who has serviced the unit all 6 times is equally frustrated that the solutions given to them by KitchenAid Warranty does not fully resolve the situation.

We bought a brand new, 48 built-in refrigerator kssc48qts02 in Aug. 2008. Two years ago the electronic motherboard had to be replaced to the tune of almost $1000. Now our thru-the-door water dispenser is leaking. Had 2 different companies look at it with the same diagnosis... 1). The water line is broken 2.) There is no way to repair the line as it is built into the freezer door 3.) The freezer door needs to be replaced 4.) THEY NO LONGER MAKE THE FREEZER DOOR!!! Come on KitchenAid, you used to make good products. What happened? The refrigerator is only 8 years old and was very expensive to begin with. Another thousand in repairs. And now they no longer make this product? MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS.

My KitchenAid dishwasher experienced failure of the detergent dispenser. I
My KitchenAid dishwasher experienced failure of the detergent dispenser. I obtained a replacement part. To access the failed part for replacement, one first remove the front panel from the door. It is held on only by six screws. Inside the panel is a foam sound and heat insulation and panel brace/stiffener panel made from form-fitted polystyrene. It is glued to the panel surface and faces against at rubber liner on the inner panel. The design permits free removal of the panel/foam assembly.Unfortunately, the foam has welded itself onto the inner panel rubber liner, preventing the front panel from being removed without destroying the foam insert. This is a critical part, dampening noise, keeping the cycle heat inside the washer, and stiffening and bracing the panel. Whirlpool has discontinued this part and it no longer is available. Their only advice is to locate one form, an independent parts supplier who might have an old one in stock. Yeah, right! I have tried every parts place I could find on the Internet, but with no success. This dishwasher is around eight years old. I would expect Whirlpool to support it for at least ten years. I will not be purchasing any more appliances made or sold if (not) supported by Whirlpool.
