Kucht Appliance Repair

Headquartered in Clifton, New Jersey Kucht is making itself known far and wide in the world of professional class ranges and kitchen appliances. Their appliances are made to be used. They don't have fancy electronic or computer driven displays or controls. Yes, these things look pretty, but they almost never do what the home chef wants to help turn out the most delicious recipes possible.

Dishwasher Repair

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Kucht manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Kucht appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

Dishwasher Does Not Run
Be sure the power is on, the door is latched, and the control is engaged. If absolutely nothing happens—in other words, nothing on the control panel lights up and there are no other signs of life—the appliance may not be receiving power. Look where the dishwasher’s cord plugs into a receptacle, usually under the sink. Check to see if that outlet is a GFCI receptacle with a reset button. If the receptacle has a reset button, push the reset. In the condition where the receptacle doesn’t have a reset, or where the dishwasher’s cord is hard-wired directly into the electrical box, look for another receptacle nearby that has a reset and try resetting it. (This is a long shot, but it’s easy to do and may solve the problem if the dishwasher is on the same circuit.) To test a receptacle for power, just plug a working hand-held appliance into it.

Dishwasher Does Not Fill
Make sure the water supply is turned on. Check the hot water supply stop valve, normally located under the sink. Open it all the way by turning it counterclockwise. If you can’t think of any reason this would have been turned off since the last time the dishwasher worked, go on to the next step.
Turn off the power to the dishwasher. When the dishwasher is cool (in other words, not right after a wash cycle), look for the float inside the dishwasher. The float is usually a small plastic dome or cylinder mounted inside at the tub’s base, near the front. When you move most types of floats up and down, you can hear them click because their spring-loaded action trips a lever. Lift out the float mechanism, and clean around the float tube. Many floats require disconnection from below; to do this you’ll have to remove the lower access panel. Rinse off the float, replace it in the tube, and make sure it moves up and down freely.

Dishwasher Keeps Filling
Unplug the dishwasher. Reach into the cabinet and lift up the dome-shaped plastic float switch. If it doesn’t lift up, remove the plastic top from the stem, scrub the stem clean, and then replace the dome.
Note which wires are attached to the float switch’s terminals, and, using small pieces of tape, label them for future reference should you need to replace the switch.
Set the volt-ohm meter’s dial to Rx100 and touch the two probes to the terminals. When you lift up the float, the tester’s needle should show an infinity reading, and, when you let the float drop, the needle should show a 0 reading. If it doesn’t, replace the switch. Unscrew it from the tub, take it to your local hardware store or home improvement center, buy an identical replacement part, and then install it.

Dishwasher Does Not Drain
Remove the cover from the air gap at the top of the sink (usually a short chrome domed cylinder that sits at the back of the sink), and, using a stiff wire, clean it out. Also check the entire length of the drain hose for kinks or blockages, especially at the drain connection to the disposer or drain line.
Once the dishwasher is cool, shut off the power to it, and—if your dishwasher is made to allow this—remove the strainer (shown below), located under the bottom spray arm at the base of the cabinet. Unscrew the hubcap, lift the spray arm off, and remove any clips that hold the strainer to get it out. Scrub it clean with a brush and then replace it.
If the dishwasher still doesn’t drain properly, the drain hose may be clogged or the drain valve may need replacement. You can check the drain hose for obstructions, but this usually involves pulling the dishwasher out from under your counter to access the hose, disconnecting the hose at both ends, and flushing it out with a faucet or garden hose, or replacing it with a new hose.

Range Repair

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Kucht manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Kucht appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

The Gas Burner Won’t Light
If you have a gas stove, you can light the range burners with a match if the electric ignition isn’t working. However, if the burners won’t light, and it’s not the result of an obvious problem like a power outage, you should troubleshoot it.
1. Lift off the burner grate, burner cap and burner base.
2. Clean any food debris out of the burner with a toothpick or some compressed air.
3. Clean the grate, cap and case while you’re at it.
4. Check the wires connecting the igniter to the control module. If there’s a loose connection here, tighten it.
5. Burner still won’t light? You may need to replace the igniter. There could also be another problem, like a kink in the gas line.

The Range Burner Won’t Heat
If you have an electric stove, your range burners need electricity in order to heat up. Sometimes, these burners go bad and need to be replaced. If one of your electric burners won’t heat up, follow these steps:
1. Switch out the faulty burner with one that you know works. Simply unplug it from the burner socket and plug the working one in.
2. If the working burner heats up, the problem is your burner. Replace it.
3. If the working burner doesn’t heat up, the problem is either the infinite switch or the socket. Does the socket look burned or damaged? You may need to replace it.
4. Test the burner again. If it still doesn’t work, test and replace the infinite switch.

The Oven Won’t Heat
An oven that won’t heat is usually the result of a faulty igniter (for a gas oven) or heating element (for an electric oven). If both your gas oven and your gas burners have stopped working, the problem is most likely with the gas line, and will require professional repair. However, you may be able to replace the heating element or igniter yourself.
1. Use a screwdriver to remove the old igniter or heating element. Heating elements are usually located inside the oven, while you can access an igniter from underneath.
2. To get to your igniter, remove the broiler or storage drawer.
3. Make sure to turn off the power to your oven before servicing it.
4. If your heating element is of the hidden variety, you may need to call a repairman to replace it for you.

The Oven Won’t Heat to the Right Temperature
This could be a problem with the temperature sensor, the gas igniter or the heating element.
1. Check the temperature sensor. It shouldn’t be touching the inside wall of the oven.
2. Use an ohmmeter to make sure the sensor is functional. The resistance should rise as the temperature of the oven increases.
3. If the sensor isn’t working, replace it.
4. Verify that the heating element or gas igniter is working, and replace it if not.
5. If everything’s been checked or replaced, recalibrate the oven.
6. Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Check the temperature inside the oven with an oven thermometer after 20 minutes, and every 20 minutes thereafter for the next 90 minutes to two hours.
7. Add up the sum of the temperature readings, and divide by the number of readings you took, to get the average temperature of the oven.
8. Adjust the oven’s temperature dial accordingly.

The Oven Door Won’t Shut
An oven that won’t shut isn’t safe for use. Follow these steps to fix it:
1. Unplug the oven and turn off the gas, if it’s a gas model.
2. Pull straight up and out on the door to remove it from the oven. If it won’t pull up, look to unscrew any screws holding the hinges in place inside the oven.
3. Check the hinges. Replace them if necessary.
4. Check for broken door springs. Slide out the bottom drawer and look under the oven to see the door springs.
5. Remove any broken springs with pliers. The ends should be wrapped around two bolts. Replace them, rewrapping the ends of the new springs around the bolts.
6. Replace the silicone or rubber gasket around the door.
7. If the oven door still won’t shut, the door sensor may need to be replaced.

Refrigerator Repair

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Kucht manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Kucht appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

Leaking
Door gaskets or seals are found along the outside of the refrigerator’s doors. They are normally made from a vinyl material and will typically have a flexible magnetic strip inside to adhere to the cabinet when the door is closed to create an airtight seal. If there is moisture along the edge of the door then inspect the gaskets for distortion or damage. Air leakage through a defective gasket will create excessive moisture in the refrigerator, possibly resulting in defrost issues and potential water leaks.

Will Not Start
The overload relay is a protection device used in the compressor circuit on your refrigerator. Power is applied to the compressor motor windings through the overload device, and the relay is used to add the start winding in the circuit until the compressor is at running speed. If the fans are running and your compressor won’t start or if you hear a clicking sound from the unit, check the overload relay for signs of overheating or arcing.

Light Not Working
Most light bulbs or lamps can be checked visually for a broken filament or can be checked with a multi-meter for continuity. You can also simply replace the bulb with a new one.
1. Remove the bulb from the refrigerator.
2. Set your multi-meter to the Rx1 setting.
3. Place one probe on the bottom of the lightbulb, and place the other on the threading of the bulb.
4. If you receive a reading of infinity, you need a replacement lightbulb.

Fridge Too Cold
The air damper, baffle or diffuser is the device that balances the air flow from the evaporator fan housing. This normally is a mechanically controlled baffle or flapper that controls the amount of cold air entering the fresh food compartment. If the baffle is damaged or the linkage to the control knob is damaged, then too much cold air may enter the fresh food compartment resulting in lower than normal temperatures. The baffle or damper will be located where the cold air enters the fresh food compartment. The housing that the baffle or damper is encased in is often made of plastic with a Styrofoam lining and may have a foam seal to prevent air leakage.

Good value for the money. It was hard to find a stylish white microwave that did not look cheap, so we bought this one and it is pleasing. With a black granite countertop and a white tiled backsplash, white was the only thing that looks good.

I have had this microwave for several years now and it has always performed as expected. So far, my wife and I have only used it for warming up leftovers. My wife also uses it to make corn-on-a-cob. It works perfectly for this particular task and is very quick. I would definitely purchase this same type of unit again.

We cook a lot. I am a stay at home. Mom and we cook breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. We received our range in April and have been using this now for three months. I have had absolutely no issues with it. I really like the convection fan feature. It really cooks things evenly. The burner options on top are nice for different things that you may want to cook at different rates. The only thing that would be nice are a timer and also some sort of notification that the oven is up to temp, but otherwise we are very pleased with this range and would definitely purchase it again.

I recently made the choice to be a stay-at-home dad and try to prepare a wholesome meal for my family every night. That's why I appreciate the separate temp controls for the crisper drawer and meat drawer in this Kucht refrigerator. Everything is as if I'd just picked them up at the grocery until I'm ready to cook.

I remodeled my kitchen almost 10 years ago and at that time I wanted a professional functioning and looking stove but it was not in my budget. I settled and for ten years had difficulties with the functioning until I hexed it and it finally died. I have a family of five and cook 6/7 days so to not have a stove was going to be a challenge and due to COVID I could only research options online. I knew I wanted something functional, purposeful, within a price point and certain appearance. I made the decision to purchase this product sight unseen and with no reviews available thru the vendor and didn't look back. Not only did the shipping come even sooner then estimated installation was easy and we are back in business to cook meals. The impact of the stove updates my kitchen immediately and we are all amazed with how it is performing. So excited to work with this gorgeous stove in the years to come.

I have to admit, I just chose this Kucht appliance set because it looked good in our kitchen. I only use the refrigerator while the au pair uses the rest. Fridge looks good on this inside too and keeps things cool. Can't complain.

The stove was installed three days ago. It is the royal blue 301 model. I have to admit I did lean toward this stove due to the color as a match for the back splash, but being practical I did check out the features. This stove checked all the boxes. It was the only one that had a steam clean oven , a big plus. We did have a professional stove prior to this and the manual clean oven was a bear to clean. The grates are heavy, very solid, and the knobs are not the cheap plastic that come with many stoves. The large burners heat amazingly fast. It is a learning curve to determine cooking time since our last gas stove was not as powerful. The oven will be another learning curve, as convection is more efficient . All in all, this stove is a winner. Ich liebe dich Kucht !

Easy to understand and operate, no complicated controls. Never had a repair, over 10 years old. Cooks anything easily, has separate controls for each food you are cooking, pizza, popcorn, frozen vegetables, meat, defrosting. Mine is 1000 watts and cooks most foods adequately for me. It has a glass turntable, easy to remove and clean, mine happens to be portable and not installed above my stove. It is moderately sized yet will accommodate a large casserole dish if needed. The front is dark glass but can be seen through while running since it is lighted inside.
