Lion Appliance Troubleshooting

Lion grills are solidly built using 304 stainless steel and the hood is double-lined for extra durability. The grill comes with cast stainless burners that radiate heat well and tend to last longer than other burners.

Gas Grill Troubleshooting

If grill fails to operate properly
1. Turn off gas at source, turn control knobs to “OFF”, and wait five minutes before trying again
2. Check gas supply/connections.
3. Repeat lighting procedure and, if grill still fails to operate properly, TURN “OFF” GAS AT SOURCE, TURN CONTROL KNOBS TO “OFF”, wait for grill to cool, and check the following:

a. Misalignment of burner tube(s) over orifice(s)
CORRECTION: Reposition burner tube to properly seat over orifice.

b. Obstruction in gas line
CORRECTION: Remove fuel line from grill. DO NOT SMOKEI Open gas supply for one second to blow any obstruction from fuel
line. Close off gas supply at source and reconnect fuel line to grill.

c. Plugged orifice
CORRECTION: Remove cooking grids, flame tamers, grease draining tray. Remove burners from bottom of grill bowl by pulling cotter pin from beneath burner peg using a screwdriver or needle nose pliers. Carefully lift each burner up and away from gas valve orifice. Remove the orifice from each burner up and away from gas valve and gently clear any obstruction with a fine wire. Re-install each orifice, reinstall burners over orifices and seat each burner peg into mounting bracket at bottom of grill bowl. Replace cotter pins.
Replace cooking components and grease collectors. If an obstruction is suspected in gas valve(s) or gas valve bracket, please contact your gas grill dealer or gas appliance service person for assistance.

d. Misalignment of igniter on burner
CORRECTION: Check for proper position of electrode tip. The tip of the electrode should be pointing forward toward the front and free from grease for spark discharging. The ignition wire should be connected to the valve ignition and electrode firmly. Replace the ignition wire if the wire were broken or cracked. With gas supply closed and all control knobs set to “OFF”, check each positive igniter individually for presence of spark at electrode. In turn, push each control knob in fully and rotate about 1/4 turn to the left (counterclockwise) until click is heard; the trigger hitting the strike block should produce a blue spark at the electrode tip. Return control knob to “OFF” before checking next igniter. If re-ignition is necessary.

While the gas grill is still hot, you must wait for a minimum of five minutes before commencing to re-ignite (this allows accumulated gas fumes to clear). If all checks/corrections have been made and gas grill still fails to operate properly, consult your grill dealer or gas appliance service person.

YELLOW FLAME
Once the entire burner is operating, check the flame color to be sure it is mostly blue (some yellow color will be present because of impurities in the fuel). If the flame is golden or yellow in color the reason could be seasoning salts, oil film, or other foreign matter on burner.
CORRECTION: Either wash burner with mild detergent, or operate burner at “HI‟ setting with lid closed for about 10 minutes.

First of all, I rate the Lion Premium gas grill 5 stars. I tried to select five stars on this review, but my computer was unable to highlight the stars for some reason. Now to the real good stuff. My wife and I purchased the Lion 32" Premium gas grill about two weeks ago and since our purchase, we have grilled a London Broil, Hamburgers and Chicken Breast. Each grilling experience was such a pleasure and grilling with the Lion grill is truly a fun experience as well. As for ordering experience from BBQ Guys.com, my wife placed the order online on a Saturday and we received the Lion grill on the following Monday afternoon. In all, the order to the delivery to our front door was 8 days. The grill arrived to our home in great shape , which the grill and cart were boxed individually and on one pallet. The delivery driver was extremely helpful and profressional. As for the assembly, it was very easy except for the two stationary caster wheels on the service cart. It's took a little creative thinking on my part to tighten the four bolts on each caster. There's just not enough room to use a socket wrench or standard wrench to tighten the bolts. The only other minor problem that I noticed after the grill was put together, is that the left shelf on the service cart has a little blemish on the front area, which I notice. I'm planning to call Lion Premium direct and see if that one shelf can be replaced. If not, I'll ask them how to buff it out properly. In closing, the purchase of the Lion Premium grill is a solid purchase and expect to receive many years of maintenance free grilling. As for the build quality of the Lion grill, it is excellent. The grill is built like a tank and will hold up for many years to come.

I think it is a great product for the price and even better with tge promotional accessories it came with. The propane regulator stopped working after the second use, this is really not a big deal I contacted the seller to get it replaced. I'm sure they will honor that if not I'll submit another review.

After going through many grills I decided on the Lion L75000 and it did not disappoint. 1. The grill was shipped fast and very well packaged 2. Install was easy, only had to put in the flavor bars and grates Over all the grill looks great and cooks great, its large enough to put a lot of different items on it, steak, potatoes, corn on the cob all at once and not feel squeezed. If I had one complaint its that the light is not automatic. You have to turn it on and off. I have forget to turn it off a time or two. Its on a plug so not a big deal but would be night if it was auto on and off.

I really like this grill so far, it seems really well made and operates just as it should. I am using Grill Grates instead of the regular cooking grates because they even out the heat on the cooking surface. I only wish I had bought this grill a couple of years ago when I called BBQ Guys and they pushed hard that I should buy the Blaze grill over the Lion. In my opinion there is no comparison in build quality. The Blaze grill looks totally worn out after just 2 - 3 years and I was replacing the sear burners every year. The burners, valves, flame tamers and vaporizers on the Lion are basically the same as you get on most of the mid range grills (Cal Flame, Bull, etc.) and with proper care I expect them to last for many years. The stainless steel all appears to be of good quality and should last as long as you would expect. I'm very happy with the Lion grill so far, just wish I wouldn't have thrown away the $1400 on the Blaze model first, but BBQ Guys really seem to push that brand.
