Refrigerator Troubleshooting
Refrigerator does not run and the light does not work
• Make sure the refrigerator is plugged in securely
• Check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker
• Test the power outlet for current
• Inspect the electrical cord for damage
• Eliminate use of an extension cord, if any is being used
• Check the outlet voltage
Refrigerator or freezer is not cold enough
• Check the temperature setting
• Assure that there is enough room for air flow in the refrigerator or freezer
• Check for air flow restrictions in vents
• Test the temperature control
• Clean the condenser coils
• Check the door seals
• Test the door switch
• Test the defrost heater
• Test the defrost timer
• Test the evaporator fan
• Check for a clogged drain tube
• Check for refrigerant leak
Refrigerator does not run but the light works
• Check the temperature setting
• Make certain there is a three inch space outside of the refrigerator between the walls and the back and sides and at least a one inch gap above, to allow for air flow
• Clean the condenser coils
• Unplug the refrigerator, wait two hours and plug it in. If you hear it running, a problem is causing the compressor to overheat
• Test the temperature control
• Test the evaporator fan
• Test the defrost timer
• Test the compressor relay
• Test the overload protector
• Test the compressor motor
Refrigerator is noisy or makes strange sounds
• Hissing and popping is normal on frost free refrigerators, it is the defrost heater
• Check that the refrigerator is level
• Check the drain pan
• Check the condenser fan
• Check the evaporator fan
• Inspect the compressor mounts
Refrigerator runs continuously
• Defrost the freezer
• Clean the condenser coils
• Check the door seals
• Test the door switch
• If you recently adjusted the temperature control, loaded the refrigerator or are in a humid location, it is not uncommon for a refrigerator to run for 24 hours or more before getting cool.
Refrigerator starts and stops frequently
• Clean the condenser coils
• Check the outlet voltage
• Test the condenser fan
• Test the compressor relay
• Test the overload protector
• Test the compressor motor
Freezer does not defrost automatically
• Test the defrost timer
• Test the defrost heater
Test the defrost thermostat
Refrigerator has an unpleasant odor
• Remove spoiled food
• Clean refrigerator interior with a solution of hot water and baking soda
• Clean the door seals
• Remove breaker strips and check for wet insulation
Water on floor outside of refrigerator
• Check the drain pan
• If you have an ice-maker, check the water supply hose going into and coming out of the water inlet valve
Water inside the refrigerator
• Clean the drain tube
• If you have an ice-maker, check refrigerator and ice-maker for level

This is a good refrigerator. So far, it works great! Small size, not easy to occupy space. I like it so much! The packaging is great!
The compact refrigerator, freezer, microwave combination is perfect for the dorm room; man cave; entertainment area; patio. It doesn't take up much room and the safety aspects of utilizing one plug prevents overload and safety devices of smoke detector alarm system shuts off the microwave when accidently overcooking. The extra USB ports are great when there are so limited outlets available in such limited quarters. I liked the 2 door separate areas for freezer and refrigerator so as not to compromise the freezer compartment when opening the refrigerator door.
I bought the stainless steel version for my daughter to take to college. It has a true freezer, a nice size refrigerator, and a small microwave. Most colleges allow it because it uses one plug. When the microwave is on, the power cuts off from the fridge so no circuits will be blown in the dorm. It also has some convenient USB ports and an outlet to charge devices. The only con is that it's best to transport this upright and its tall, even without the microwave, so we might need to rent a mini-van for the move. It can be transported flat, but for every hour it's lying down, it needs to spend two or three hours upright. So for a three hour drive to school, you'd want to have it upright for 9 hours or overnight, before turning it on. It would be like starting a car with no oil in the engine. We got a great price with no shipping and no tax, so I'm happy with the purchase and I think it will beat the rental price at the college. It's also new and clean and the stainless steel is snazzy.
We are very happy with this unit. It provides a refrigerator, freezer, and microwave. The microwave has two USB ports and a power outlet. Knowing that she will not throw a breaker by running too many appliances at once is a great piece of mind. Pros: Separate freezer, USB charging ports, power outlet Cons: None.
Great fridge, compact & efficient, plenty of room for dorm essentials like frozen dinners, milk and juice, and of course ice cream for those stress days (love that the freezer is a separate compartment).
