Buying a new to me home and all the appliances need replaced what brands should I look for and what brands should I avoid? TIA.

Answer:

Avoid Samsung for sure, and probably LG too (at least for kitchen appliances). I like Frigidaire or GE for refrigeration and cooking. Miele, Bosch, or Kitchenaid for dishwasher. Vent a Hood or Faber for ventilation. Speed Queen, Electrolux, or LG for laundry. Buy from a local, independent appliance dealer with their own service department, and buy extended warranties (especially on fridge, dishwasher, and washer).


If you have the budget (massive), then Sub-Zero - Wolf - Cove is absolutely worth it.
