Tesla and the future of HVAC

Tesla and the future of HVAC
Posted On: December 13, 2021

When you think of Tesla, you are likely to picture cars and not heating and cooling systems. Well, it's time to rethink the name as Tesla founder Elon Musk is starting to change the way HVAC systems work.

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. The system runs through homes and businesses that use furnaces and central air. HVAC systems can include heat pumps that use electricity instead of gas to heat and cool the home. Although heat pumps are more energy-efficient than their gas counterparts, the downside is they often struggle to work in colder climates.

So, what does Telsa have to do with all of this? Well, Tesla has already adapted the same heat pump technology in their cars as Tesla vehicles run solely on electricity. Tesla can use their knowledge of how heat pumps work and adjust it to homes.

Tesla model vehicles are also equipped with firm seals called Bioweapon Defence Mode, which provides each car with better airflow and HEPA filtrations.

HEPA stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Air.

HEPA filters help remove any dust, pollen, allergens, mold, and bacteria from the air. Elon Musk has said that the HEPA filters designed by Tesla can even keep out viruses and emissions.

We know that home HEPA filters work because we have seen them in the form of high-quality furnace filters. But imagine Tesla filters in our homes. These filters would be beneficial to those with severe allergies and asthma.

When it comes to heating and cooling your home, a thermostat is the key behind it all, and advancements in technology have made thermostats even smarter. Some thermostats can even be controlled by smartphones away from home. And if Tesla gets involved, homeowners can even control their thermostats through their car.

Tesla has also adapted solar roof panels, which can be used to power homes.

While all of this technology is still in the making, it is pretty interesting to think about Tesla getting involved with making our homes more comfortable. They have already changed the future of vehicles. It's only natural that our homes are the next big thing.
