Viessmann Heat Pump Troubleshooting
If you're looking for help fixing your Viessmann Heat Pump, look no further! Our comprehensive Viessmann Heat Pump Troubleshooting guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.
Troubleshooting a Viessmann heat pump involves identifying and addressing common issues that may affect its performance. Keep in mind that specific troubleshooting steps can vary depending on the model and configuration of your heat pump. Here are some general troubleshooting tips:
Check Power Supply:
Ensure that the heat pump is receiving power. Check the circuit breaker and power switch to confirm that the unit is connected and turned on.
Inspect Thermostat Settings:
Double-check the thermostat settings to ensure they are correctly configured for the desired temperature and operating mode.
Review Error Codes:
If your Viessmann heat pump has a display panel, review any error codes or fault messages. Refer to the user manual or technical documentation to understand the meaning of the codes and take appropriate action.
Examine Water Pressure:
If the heat pump is displaying a water pressure-related issue, check the water pressure. If it's too low, repressurize the system following the manufacturer's guidelines.
Inspect Air Filters:
Dirty or clogged air filters can impact efficiency. Check and clean or replace the air filters according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Check for Refrigerant Issues:
Low refrigerant levels or refrigerant-related issues can affect heat pump performance. If you suspect a refrigerant issue, contact a qualified technician to inspect and address the problem.
Inspect Sensors:
Check the various sensors, including temperature and pressure sensors, for any visible damage or loose connections. Faulty sensors may need replacement.
Ensure Proper Airflow:
Check for any obstructions in the outdoor and indoor units that could hinder airflow. Remove debris or objects blocking vents and coils.
Check Water Circulation:
Verify that the water pump is functioning correctly and that there are no issues with water circulation through the system.
Professional Assistance:
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue or if you are unsure about any aspect, contact Viessmann's customer support or schedule a visit from a certified Viessmann technician for professional assistance.
Always refer to the user manual, technical documentation, or contact Viessmann's customer support for model-specific troubleshooting guidelines. If you are unsure about any troubleshooting steps or if the issue persists, it's recommended to consult with a qualified HVAC technician or Viessmann service provider for professional assistance.

Great experience with Viessmann - had a regular service which went well, but unfortunately uncovered another issue immediately afterwards leaving us with no hot water. Viessmann got a remedial visit sorted the next day and now all working again. Shout out to our engineer Chris Brown who fixed it, did a great job, explained everything that had happened - thanks! Also had a good chat about the future of heat pumps, batteries etc.
Would like to know more information on getting fault codes cleared on my air source heat pump. Codes F.793 and F.792. Was told by my installer that Viessmann would carry out a software update and this would clear these codes as the unit is continually flashing red. Apart from that very happy with our new heating system.
I love my new Vitocal heat pump so much! Installed by Heat Different, it looks great, and the Viessmann app is so easy to use. The hot water is always ready to use at just the right temperature, and I am using a quarter of the energy and creating no carbon thanks to a Green tariff. Goodbye polluting gas boiler, hello livable future for the planet! Thank you Viessmann for a quality product.
Air source Heat pump Viessmann 100A PCB failure fault evident at installation. Taken 9 months to have this corrected. Cost for fault 2 months €600 euros 2 Bed terrace house with only one occupant. There are approximately 25 plus houses on site with the same fault. legionella system faulty.
No Hot Water / Heating, for over a week. kept getting F2 fault. service engineer said not to use it, he also said it needed a new pump which didn't make any sense. I phoned Viessmann on a few occasions expressing my concern that we had to wait over a week for a part I didn't think it needed anyway but still had to wait a week for the next engineer who actually worked for Viessman he agreed it was unlikely to be the pump and it ended up some plate that needed cleaning. The 111-W boiler is now fixed at a cost but unhappy that we was fobbed off for a week with no hot water or heating.
