You have to use a rolling lift jack to move a Fisher & Paykel range?????
Posted On: November 13, 2023

Just decided to make the jump to induction and found a deal on a scratch & dent Fisher and Paykel, so decided to try out a high end range. Model OR36SC16X1, 36 inch. Apparently high end range people never actually need to move their own ranges. It is super heavy and can only be moved by having a person on each side carry it by the holding the top of the range through the open door and the back. This is great until you need to move it into the range opening in your cabinets or move it out. Tried to put sliders under the legs but they appeared to have bent the metal attachment point on the underside of the range. So my legs have a slight angel to them now. After doing some research the manual states to move the range in or out of the surrounding cabinets that I need to use a rolling lift jack? This can't be right. We are installing our cabinets now so this hasn't been an issue, but once they are completely installed, I'm not sure how I will be able to get it in or out if needed. Anyone else have this issue? Or if I need this rolling jack does anyone have one they would recommend that I buy for the very rare situations when I need to move the range? How does a company build a high end product like this without engineering in a reasonable way to move your range? Frustrated..

Question from user copiouszoid at Appliances at reddit.com.

Answer:

Open the oven door, put your hands on the top of the inside of the oven, and pick up while you pull out. Once its out of the cavity, unhook the lines, and you can put a dolly on the side of the range to move it out. Youll need some straps to tie the range down to the dolly.
