Range Troubleshooting

Not lighting 
• Are the burner ports clogged?  
• Are the burner base and cap properly installed?  
• Was the range recently installed or re-connected to the gas supply? There could be air in the gas lines. Turn on any one of the surface burner knobs to release the air. 
• Is the main gas valve turned on?  

Gas Odor  
Is there a gas odor? An odor while burners are turned on can be normal; an odor while they are turned off indicates that there could be a leak. 

Burner Issue  
For a burner issue, check to see if the pilot serving that burner is lit. If the pilot is lit but the burner is not, inspect the ignition tube since it may be clogged. 

Oven Issue  
If the problem is only with the oven, open the broiler and pull out the broiler drawer, cover plate and flame extender according to your model's instruction manual. Using a flashlight, inspect the ignition system and look for either a pilot light or a filament that glows red when the oven is working. Knowing what to do next depends on the oven's type of ignition system. 

Burner  
Relight the pilot feeding the burner tubes and try to light the burner. If it will not stay lit, the pilot tube could be blocked and in need of cleaning. Clean out the burner tubes and make sure there is a clear pathway for gas to flow, then try to relight the burner. 

Oven Pilot  
Try to relight the pilot feeding the oven burner by holding a match to the pilot flame aperture for about ten seconds. If the pilot does not stay lit once the flame is removed, there is likely a problem with the thermocouple. 

Oven Burner  
If the pilot stays lit, turn on the oven. The oven burner should ignite and produce an even flame all around. If this does not happen, there is a problem with the oven burner itself.

Refrigerator Troubleshooting

COMPRESSORS WILL NOT START  
• Ensure that the power cord is plugged in to appropriate outlet. 
• Check circuit for blown fuse. 

INADEQUATE PERFORMANCE  
• Make sure that the door is closed.  
• Move the unit away from anything that generates heat.  
• Check if there is a blockage in the air duct.  
• Make sure that the unit is in a well ventilated area with a minimum clearance of 6" from any walls.  
• Check to see if refrigerant is low. 
• Make sure that the temperature controller is set correctly.  
• Clean the condenser if necessary.  

NO INTERIOR LIGHT  
• Ensure that the bulb is properly installed in the socket.  
• Check to see if the bulb needs to be replaced.  
• Turn off the light switch, then turn it on again.  

UNIT IS NOISY  
• Check for any loose parts or mounting.  
• Make sure the unit is on a flat sturdy surface.  
• Make sure all tubing is away from any contact that would cause a rattling sound.  
• Make sure there is minimum clearance of 6" from any walls.   

THERE IS CONDENSATION ON CABINET AND/OR FLOOR  
• Make sure that the gasket on door or head is creating a proper seal.    
• Reduce the humidity in the area.
