We purchased a KitchenAid French Door refrigerator for $3000. So far we have spent over $1000 in repairs. Now it needs a “seal system”! I have asked for a new refrigerator but I have been told that Kitchen Aid will not replace it “until” it is unrepairable! Do you believe they want me to keep putting more money in repairs! I’ll give it to the scrap yard before I sink any more money into this defective product! They did offer a replacement for $2000! Can you actually believe they would think I would buy another defective product! Every time a technician comes to “diagnosis” the problem they charge me $100! And don’t use an unauthorized technician because KitchenAid will not recognize their repairs! Don’t buy this refrigerator. It’s a lemon!

Apparently, the rocket scientists at Whirlpool have decided we all want the vent fan to push heated or cooled air out of our homes the entire time our microwave runs. So the electronics theyre using are so poorly designed they cant tolerate normal operating temperatures. Ovens like this have been sold for more than 30 years without the need to run the vent fan like this. Buyer beware!

Bought fridqe 5/30/13. First Geek squad guy was at our home in August due to water dripping inside fridge. Geek squad was out at least 7 other times, replaced everything inside stove too (kept turning itself off). Bought extended warranty from Whirlpool, but not really whirlpool. Assurance is extended warranty company? Started sending AAA appliance out, theyve replaced everything inside at least once, some twice. Still doesnt make ice and leaks. They call whirlpool but apparently should be calling Assurance. AAA can’t fix it, told whirlpool it needs to be replaced. Assurance knows nothing about it? What a nightmare. Ill never buy whirlpool again. Just want what I paid for!!

We bought a new Kitchenaid refrigerator French door bottom freezer model # KFIS29BBWH03. The Fan noise is horrible. Sounds like an Ambulance coming down the road. Very unacceptable. We also have ice on the back of the unit inside the refrigerator part which the latest service man, whom we have had four come, said it was a problem with the indoor ice. It also causes the shelves to be wet all the time. The service man has ordered a new computer board for that issue but says the fan noise is normal even though we can hear it throughout the house. Just want to throw this refrigerator in the trash but it was very expensive and if they could fix the noise problem I would be happy. But the noise is driving me up the wall. Wont buy anything from Whirlpool, who owns Kitchenaid and Maytag, again.

Purchased a Kitchenaid range in May, a couple of weeks later it started to chipping where you put in the racks. Ive complained about it and they its cosmetic! My last range was a kitchenaid and had it 18 years and not one issue. It shouldnt matter if its cosmetic or not, its new! No one seems to care about the customer anymore and because most appliances are made by only a couple of manufacturers we dont have a choice. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

The finish on the liner looks like orange peel and the oven does not cook like it is advertised using the convection oven. I will replace this oven with another manufacturer and I will never purchase another KitchenAid product ever again. Your customer service is terrible. You see the products and dont stand behind them. You hide behind a very limited warranty of 12 months.

Had purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator new in September 2013. On January 3 the refrigerator broke AND WAS LEFT WITH NO REFRIGERATION. Being under warranty KitchenAid sent out their service repair service. On January 8, the service repair came and said they had to order a part. On January 14, service came back, installed part and that was not problem, had to order another another part. January 22 came, installed part, didnt work, said had to order another part. January 29 returned installed another part, still didnt work, said that new part installed was defective, had to order another part. On January 30, I called KitchenAid and stated that I wanted a different repair person and they would not do so because their repair service are qualified technicians. January 31, installed yet another part, didnt work and said it was unserviceable and wouldnt come back and refrigerator had to be replaced. KitchenAid said they would not replace but wanted to get another opinion. February 6, 2nd company came out and wanted to order more parts. In the meantime, we have Four children and have been LEFT WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR for excessive amount of time. Never seen service like this before. Please help because in the middle of all this more than several phone calls transpired and its obvious that no one at KitchenAid could care less that a family is left without a refrigerator.

Repair company that KA sent said it was like an engine going out on a new car and recommended it be replaced instead of repaired. Customer service said they wont replace. Email to CEO went unanswered. KA doesnt care about its customers and they dont build a quality product. If I could do it again I wouldnt buy KA again.

I purchased six appliances when I upgraded my kitchen: refrigerator, range, microwave oven, trash compactor, and beverage center to the tune of $10,000. At this point, I would never recommend KitchenAid to anyone. The microwave broke and the part was never available. After months of arguing, I had to get a new one. The refrigerator’s thermostat went out and they did not make the part. I had to get a new refrigerator/freezer. Now, I ran the clean cycle on the oven and the oven overheated and locked up for the second time. The oven is now not operable and I will have to pay a service man to put in another new thermostat. My research shows over 400 complaints. These ovens are a poor design and the self-cleaning feature cannot be used. In addition, I have had to have the trash compactor repaired. The appliances are 36 months old. And when I call KitchenAid, they really dont care to resolve the issues. Very frustrating!

This is the second review I am writing about this oven. The first review I wrote was a couple weeks after it was installed and I gave it 5 stars. Its a beautiful oven. The stovetop/burners work great. The top oven is the one I use the most and at first it was fine, but after about a month, I noticed the blue interior is peeling off the base plate on the top oven and black splotches started appearing. I removed the base plate and tried to clean it but there wasnt anything on it. The blue was just disappearing in places. I took the oven plate back to the store I bought it at and they ordered a new one.The second plate started doing the same thing after only a couple of weeks. The blue coating is clearly not perfected and I really wonder if it is releasing chemicals or flaking off into the food. I cannot recommend this to anyone. KitchenAid - you need to do more testing before you release products into the market. I am a product developer - I know when something hasnt been tested appropriately. Im waiting for my third base plate to arrive but I am likely going back to the store to tell them to replace the oven. My preference would be to replace it with a different brand, but the over the oven microwave that a purchased at the same time is also KitchenAid brand (ut-oh).

Our problems with this dishwasher have been multiple over the 2 years and 5 months we have owned it. The electronic control board went bad almost immediately. This was fixed under warranty almost immediately. A few months later water leaked out of the machine and damaged our floors. We received a letter from KitchenAid owning up to the problem, with our model listed among the problem machines. When I called Customer Service to schedule repair I was told the serial number did not match up and that nothing could be done for us. The latest disaster is the warping, popping and breaking of almost all the plastic parts in the upper basket. Again, KitchenAid refuses to stand behind its miserably made product: I am told that I am out of warranty and that the Extended Service plan I purchased does not cover plastic parts. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid large appliance. I will not deal with a company that refuses to stand behind its product.

I have a KitchenAid double wall oven, convection on top. While running the self-clean on the top oven for the first time, the oven door glass shattered about 1.5 hours into the cycle. There is a near identical complaint on this website. KitchenAid will cover the part, but not the labor. I had shattered hot glass all over my kitchen floor because it slides out the bottom crack. It got into the bottom oven, shards come out every time I open either oven, even though I tried to vacuum in the cracks. Really KitchenAid?

On June 12, 2004 we bought four appliances from your business which at the time totaled $5,200.33. During the first year and beyond we had problems with the fridge with too much cooling on both sides. After numerous calls and service calls to troubleshoot and repair the fridge, Whirlpool agreed to scrap and replace with a similar model on 12/28/05 (see attached). Unfortunately the same problem has now occurred again with the replaced refrigerator. I appreciate that the item is no longer covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee as it was bought/replaced six years ago. However, the Sale of Goods Act 1979 makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. As the item has broken down well in advance of its normal life expectancy and has not been misused in any way, we regard the item as being of unsatisfactory quality in respect of its durability. I am, therefore, asking you to repair the item free of charge or to replace it with a similar model/finish, and more importantly one which is working properly. I want either a repair or replacement model (similar) that works well and as advertised. As a result of the problem fridge, we have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of perished foods over the years.

We purchased a KitchenAid double oven with the construction of our new home. Commencing with the installation there was nothing but malfunctions with the oven. The fan was bad; control board went bad and most importantly (and never satisfactorily resolved) the oven consistently failed to preheat at the correct temperature or to cook evenly. The oven consistently overheats between 40-50 degrees. Several holidays were less than satisfactory due to the condition in which the food was cooked. The oven was serviced several times over one year and problems were never resolved. Before warranty ended, demanded oven be replaced because lemon and was refused. Told the uneven temperatures and cooking was the way it was suppose to function. Not if you want to follow a recipe, it isnt!!!

While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher back in April of 2006. It hasnt worked right ever since we bought it. At first, I would notice that every once in a while, it wouldnt get the dishes completely clean, and then it got to be more and more. I had a repairman come out today and he said it needs a whole new motor mechanism. This will cost at least $250 (we paid almost $1,000 for the dishwasher). We have all KitchenAid appliances and have had issues with almost all of them. We will not buy anything else from them.

I purchased model KDTE104ESS1 in the Spring of 2017. The motor failed after 2 years of light use. We were advised that it would be $550.00 to replace the motor. The Service Tech was surprised the motor failed so soon. After some research, I discovered that this was a known problem, so I reached out to KitchenAid to see what they could/would do (especially given the cost of the unit, its light usage, short lifespan and cost of repair). Their response was swift and simple-- they would do absolutely NOTHING! No discount for a new motor/repair, no coupon/rebate for a new KitchenAid dishwasher-- absolutely NOTHING. They are completely unwilling to stand by their product. Makes my decision easy - I will never again spend a penny on any KitchenAid product. RUN- Invest your purchasing dollars with a company willing to do the right thing and stand by its Products. I will be purchasing another dishwasher and IT WILL NOT BE KITCHENAID.

The KitchenAid refrigerator we have is just over 1 yr old, 6 weeks over 1 year. With no warning, when opening the pantry drawer inside the fridge, the pantry drawer lid just dropped off - a piece of plastic (end cap) holding that lid just snapped off. My girlfriend had the same thing happen with hers and predicted this when she saw what we bought. I did not expect it to happen so soon (especially as we no longer have kids home), a mere 6 weeks past the one year mark!! Kitchen Aid calls it cosmetic as we still have a refrigerator though this lid piece can no longer be in place... Im not happy. KGRS505XSS30 - We are now on our SECOND KitchenAid stove (identical model) because we bought from a very reputable dealer and he had sent his service department out several times and finally just ordered us a new stove. So far, the oven is working okay but the knobs are definitely a safety hazard!!! When I go to clean the back of the stove, the safety knob, yeah right, will turn and flame up. I have burned paper towels, etc.Saturday, my son just reached to pick up a pot holder on the back of the microwave and a few minutes later we all smelled a foul odor. I went into the kitchen and the knob had simply moved enough to turn the gas on, but not the flame!!! Glad we had no smokers in the house. We had to raise windows and use fans to remove the gas fumes. DANGEROUS and should be recalled but after reading the reviews, it is obvious that KitchenAid could care less about safety. I have a aid mixer and am happy with that but will NEVER buy any of their products again.

Well for the send time our expensive KitchenAid Built-in Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer Failed. It is almost 10 years old. The refrigerator repairmen from Judd and Black Electric arrived about 12:00 and fussed around with our fridge for an hour. In my opinion they didnt have a clue really and ** thought they were rude. At the end of the process they said the main control module was out, KitchenAid didnt make the part, it wasnt available anymore and they couldnt fix the KitchenAid KSSC48QMS01 side by side built in refrigerator. Period. They said that Core Centric could rebuild the control board but they didnt offer to take it out or send it in to Core Centric. The entire afternoon I researched the issue and learned that there are several companies that will rebuild the control board for about $100, found a YouTube Video on how to remove it and learned the serial number (W10219463-119) of the offending part. I will NEVER buy a KichenAid product again.

We decided to purchase a Kitchen Aid dishwasher (KUDC10FXSS) to replace our Whirlpool dishwasher in the spring of this year. We have had nothing but problems with it. I noticed that it was running through rinse aid very quickly and then completely shut down. We were told that it needed a new control board, which was then replaced. It took three weeks to get this part in because it was on back order. Less than a week later, the rinse aid began pouring out from the dispenser, so once again a repairman came out and told us that we must have a bad dispenser so that was replaced next. Even with the new dispenser, I am now having to add rinse aid every two weeks and have a terrible film on my glasses and dishes. I called the business where we bought it and they sent out the same repair guy, who told me that he doesnt know why its going through rinse aid so quickly and that he would research it for me. Well, its been three weeks and no word from him or the business which he works for. We asked to replace this dishwasher because we think its a lemon and we were told that unless we have three separate incidents with it, Kitchen Aid will not replace it. We are very frustrated and will not buy any Kitchen Aid products in the future!

Poor reliability. Very disappointed based on initial reviews of how happy people were with model. I guess I like it too - when it is working. Who has the money or time for all these repairs? Purchased in September 2011 and the motor failed the first week. Best Buy swapped out dishwasher in October 2011. Had some intermittent issues when it would not turn on when we pushed the key pads. March 2013 - stopped working completely. The electrical panel on inside of door came loose. Was not an actual electrical problem so did not fall under warranty. I paid the $130 for a 15-minute service. September 2013. Dishwasher failed to complete rinse cycle and wont start again - just makes a louder than usual noise like it is trying to start. Just called for another repair.

Like many other reviewers, we purchased high end KitchenAid appliances base on reputation. The steaming sensor was the only thing that ever impressed me. The fan never did much except make a lot of noise and the unit seemed underpowered compared to every other 1200 watt unit Ive owned. At just over 2 years old (and just after the warranty expired) we started getting error messages directing us to open/close the door. That resolved nothing. I unplugged it and fiddled with different buttons and controls, got it to limp along for a few months. Then the appliance went black. The local appliance technician says its a design flaw. The heat from the cooktop overheats the electronics that are in the door directly above burners. Most microwaves have controls in a side panel. $900 wasted.

They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

The temperature settings have remained the same for both the freezer and refrigerator, as performed well in cooling.

As part of a complete KitchenAid appliance package purchase three years ago, we purchased a KitchenAid Fridge Model KRFF707ESS01. Rather than take the specced Frigidaire appliance group that was included with our new home purchase, we elected to spend the extra money believing KitchenAid was a superior product. During the past year, we have encountered some of the inner cabinet led lights not functioning and others flickering on and off. We have determined that it isn’t a simple fix such as a door switch, but rather defective led lights and or an led emitter control board. It appears this is a common problem, however KitchenAid is not acknowledging it as a manufacturer defect.I have read a number of online posts reporting the same issues. The reviewers report having replaced faulty led lights, only to have the same problem reoccur. In one case the reviewer stated they were advised that nothing could be done to remedy the problem. I strongly advise you to not buy a KitchenAid fridge with this led lighting design. Repairs are either extremely costly or impractical as the problem will only reoccur. A highly respected technician in our area has confirmed that this is a common problem with KitchenAid fridges. This is a manufacturer defect and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

Over the past week I have been placed on hold for 7 hours. The one time I did speak with someone about an exchange they were rude and misleading regarding the problems with this product, come to find out. When I had such a difficult time with corporate I went back to the dealer. After going through their channels, I was told that corporate tried to email me (not true) and wanted me to call them back! We have the big side-by-side stainless steel model, purchased in 2005 for our new home. We are in the same situation as the previous reviewer. The circuit board was removed and taken for repair. The problem is that the part is no longer available, so they are refurbishing them and must have weeks of backlogged work to do to fix them. We are also waiting on A&E. Unfortunately, they dont give you this information. They say the part is on backorder. Hello, its not on backorder. There is none.KitchenAid and Whirlpool are big companies and they should order some circuit boards because there seem to be an awful lot of unhappy customers losing food and waiting weeks or months for the repair to be done. If you have one of these big units, you can only leave the door open for a couple of minutes maximum. If you need to clean, remove the shelves or drawers and close the doors. Otherwise, the alarm will begin beeping and within days or weeks, the circuit board will fry. This is a known problem and a recall should be conducted to replace the offending parts on these units!

I asked around before buying my last dishwasher, hoping to find a brand and a model that would last for some time. Instead, I purchased a Kitchen Aid from Sears. It stopped working last weekend, so we called a Sears for repair. They were booking appointments more than two weeks out. Next, we called a reputable, independent appliance repair shop, and they told us that our dishwasher had a defective motor that would cost more than $500 to replace. So between purchasing the product, paying for delivery, paying for install, then paying for a repair tech to come out and tell me that the dishwasher needed a new motor, I am into this Kitchen Aid dishwasher for more than $1,325 for a dishwasher that didnt even make it to two years of light service.Kitchen Aid should be ashamed of itself for selling an expensive product that couldnt handle 3 washes per week over a year and a half. Their standards and workmanship are not to be trusted, and Im stunned that such an expensive piece of equipment had such a short life. I conclude by saying that I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance again, and I dont recommend that anyone who reads this become a customer either.

Purchased the machine almost 3 years ago. It has been a good machine with the exception of the plastic support for the top rack which breaks about every 12 to 14 months. Apparently looking on YouTube this is a common occurrence and not just an isolated incident. The part is $20 plus shipping, but buy 2 and replace the other side at the same time, it will save on inconvenience. I am baffled by dishwashers these days. None seem to last. I purchased the KitchenAid refrigerator KFIS29PBMS00 2 years ago. My refrigerator has not been keeping things frozen since before Thanksgiving of 2015... It’s now the end of January 2016. It is also leaking water from the water dispenser. I think it is a shame you spend a good amount of money on a new appliance and within 2 years you have 4 problems with it. It has iced up. There was a problem with the door. The ice maker / water dispenser problem... but this freezer problem is the worst. (Thank goodness I have an old refrigerator, you know one that was produced when quality with appliances was great!)But what has become the even worst problem is the warranty company, Consumer Priority Service. You call in your problem. They call someone in your area... they come out to check the problem... leave, order parts and then come back. The first time I called to get someone out they told me they could get someone out in 3 weeks... 3 weeks!!! Come on... 3 weeks! So I bypassed the warranty company the 1st time the freezer had a problem. When they came out they noticed the water leak and said to call the warranty company on it. I did. It was 12/2/2015... They came out 1/21/2016 with the WRONG part. Now Im waiting again. In the meantime, the freezer is broken again. The warranty company notified a repair company... I hadnt heard a response from them so I called them. They said they could not fix my problem and they contacted the warranty company again. Needless to say, this is very frustrating. My beautiful, KitchenAid refrigerator has been no working since before Thanksgiving of last year! I will never buy another KitchenAid product again or warranty service from Consumer Priority Service.

My KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS35FX is 18 months old and has worked fine up until a few days ago when it just went completely dead. I didnt buy the extended warranty because I think they are a ripoff. I immediately started looking online for possible causes and solutions. It quickly became apparent that the problem was the thermal fuse. I called KitchenAid customer service 3 times, trying to get them to give me some help and what I got was ticked off. The first thing they told me was that I need to make sure and run hot water into the sink before starting the dishwasher, because the thermal fuse was overworked trying to get to the optimal temp, in this case when it failed, because I had the dishwasher set to sanitize. My issue is that I almost always start the washer right after dinner when I have finished rinsing off the dishes in hot water. They argued that the water needed to be 105, and I asked who in hell stands at the sink with a thermometer checking water temps? Why would they use such cheap and flimsy parts on a machine that I spent close to $900 on? If theres a sanitize feature, why do I have to worry that its going to wreck my machine? Next, they asked what temp my hot water heater is set at and did I know it was supposed to be 120. I said thats right where mine is. Then they suggested I could still spend $250 for their extended warranty and my repair would be covered. They refused to acknowledge that they are fully aware of these defects and refuse to make good on them. It is their cheap design and my tough luck. I called for repairs from the business that I bought the machine from and the tech told us that there is a harness kit for the wiring to keep it stable that KitchenAid came up with, because the connections would become loose from vibration, thus burn out the fuse when it became stressed. So they know they have a problem and they created a fix for it, but dont just fix it on their dime. They expect the consumer to do it. The service call and part cost me $170. I dont have money to waste on this ripoff.

With only 23 months of use, two of your KitchenAid products have failed. One, an Architect series refrigerator, quit and we were told the replacement part would not be available until January of 2020 (not typo). They had only 3 rebuilt computer control boards in the country and agreed to send one with a promise to return my bad one. Done. Now my Architect series oven/ microwave unit has been out since January of 2015. The service company they recommended has been out four times replacing parts they suggested and sent to them, with me only paying the service fees, and it still does not work. The tech department says they do not know how to fix it. They say to replace it. I have been offered a replacement for the small sum of $1,800 for a $3,650 unit I was able to use for 2 years and is not repairable now. It has an internal communication problem, code F6E0. Why would I buy another unit from a company that cannot repair what they sell. Take 5 minutes and Google error code F6E0, there are hundreds of complaints about the same code in all Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands and none have been repaired. Every appliance I have is KitchenAid, never will I buy another nor would I ever recommend them. I plan to post this notice everywhere I see KitchenAid or Whirlpool listed. Before anyone buys from Whirlpool or any of their brands, Google this error code first.

I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had a multitude of problems with the unit ranging from a broken ice maker, frost causing a leak from the freezer, but most frustrating is a repeated problem that the refrigerator will not cool appropriately. I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. At this point Ive spent close to an additional $1000.00 for a refrigerator that is 4 years old. This had led me to boycott any future KitchenAid or related company products.

If youre thinking of buying KitchenAid major appliances, read the letter I recently sent to KitchenAid below. I got a legalistic form response offering nothing, not even an apology. They even got my name wrong. Never again.I am writing about a series of problems I have had with several large KitchenAid appliances. I have never written a complaint letter before, but the coincidental problems with your products reminds me of the planned obsolescence complaints from 30 years ago about American made cars. I thought about just posting all of this on the internet, but thought I should give you a chance to respond first. Here is my story. On December 2, 2004, I bought three major KitchenAid appliances as a part of a high-end kitchen renovation. A built in refrigerator was the big ticket item, but I also bought a gas stove/electric range, and a silent dishwasher, all brushed silver. Together, the three items cost me $11,494.35.Everything worked fine until this past spring, but within six months, all three appliances have had major problems. The compressor on the refrigerator failed. You covered the parts, but I paid over $600 in labor. A hinge on the door of the dishwasher rusted out, and I replaced it for over $300. Currently, the washer motor on the dishwasher is screaming every time it runs. Ive been quoted a cost of about $500 to replace it. What about the stove? This past summer the small control board (near the dials) failed, and I had to replace that at a cost of over $400. Last week, the large control board misfired, turning the oven my 16-year old daughter was using to make cupcakes on to clean mode, locking the door, setting the cupcakes on fire, and sending plumes of smoke throughout the house. Luckily, I was home from work with an injury, and thought to flip the circuit breaker. The fire died after about an hour, and the door opened when I put the breaker back on. I just replaced the big control board at a cost of over $500.All told, Ive paid over $2,200 to repair very expensive appliances that are less than 10 years old, and I still have a screaming silent dishwasher. How do you explain this? Planned obsolescence? If so, you certainly have the timing down pat. So why am I writing? I am hoping you will do the right thing by me and in making appliances that last. What is the right thing to do for me? Cut me a check for $2,200? Fix my dishwasher for free? Give me all new appliances and install them? Send me a letter of apology? Im not sure. I will leave that to you. I do hope someone responds. It might be cathartic for me to post a bunch of nasty reviews on the internet, but I hope there is a more constructive alternative.

I have a brand new Kitchen Aid Conversion Oven/Microwave combo. The way the microwave is designed, you open the door down, like an oven, toward you. Thus, my child opened the microwave, took out some warmed milk, and spilled it on the door as he was getting it out. Some of the milk seeped in between the glass of the door. Apparently, there is no way to clean it! It looks terrible!I called KitchenAid customer service and they told me this a cosmetic issue but a repairman could come and take the door apart for $129 to clean it! Clearly, this is a design flaw! Spills happen all the time with food preparation. The owner should be able to clean it themselves!!! There are no warnings about this in the instruction booklet. How is the consumer supposed to know they cant fully clean the appliance? Why isnt the glass sealed? I want the public to know about the design flaw in the appliance.

In April of 2014 we purchased an expensive KitchenAid refrigerator from Best Buy, later delivered & installed by Best Buy. The refrigerator was purchased for the ice machine and water filter. From the time we purchased the frig, the ice maker made very small ice cubes and then stopped making them all together. The frig began leaving a puddle of water on the floor, so we turned off the ice maker and I asked my husband to call KitchenAid, while the product was under warranty. He finally did and in September the first repairman came out from Quaker Appliance who said the product was installed improperly, then Best Buy, who came out and showed us the product was installed properly. We went back to KitchenAid and they sent out Ace Appliance. The Ace Appliance repairman has been out here 6 - 7 times, replacing tubes that are broken, electric boards, the actual ice maker itself and still it does not work. We contacted KitchenAid today, after Ace Appliance did not show up for an appointment, and begged them to please end this and stand behind their product. I have had to take numerous half and whole days of vacation, resulting in greater cost to our family than we ought to bear. When I pointed it out to the Supervisor after speaking with 2 customer service reps, she said that they will do nothing to replace the item until both a technician and the KitchenAid technician deem it unfixable. I asked how many times would that mean someone should have to schedule an appointment, take time off work and she said it could be once or 20 times. Her name was Shannon. We told her we were going to submit a complaint to BBB and she didnt seem to care. All the repairmen who have been out here have told us that KitchenAid will just wait for you to give up, toss a few dollars at you or keep wasting your time. They do not return their faulty products. This is what we were told from experienced technicians...

Im on a mission to let everyone know how much KitchenAid sucks. They obviously have no quality control on their production. They have no ethics about making a quality product. About 8 years ago, we upgraded our kitchen and bought all new KitchenAid appliances. Since then, every appliance has had issues. Microwave (KHMS155LSS), weve had to replace the face plates (all of them) at least once because the cheap plastic latches broke. Dishwasher (KUDS01FLSS), the spring holding the door has broken twice so that the door flies open and bruises any body parts in the way. Hand mixer (Classic Plus 5), less than 1 year after purchasing, one of the beaters separated (has been fine since we replaced it though). Stand mixer (KSM9O), the cover over the motor doesnt stay close and easily pulls open if you touch it. Oven/Stove (Superba Range), the final straw, I was baking potatoes tonight and the oven shut off and locked shut with my potatoes inside. I cannot open the door. I tried all the things I saw on the internet and its still locked with my potatoes inside. Im going to replace it with a non-KitchenAid appliance ASAP!

IN 1953 my parents built a house after I was born. They had a KitchenAid dishwasher that was still working perfectly in that house when they retired to Florida in 1986. I figured that was a good reason to look at KA appliances when I remodeled the kitchen in my current house in 2011. BAD MOVE!! I bought a whole stainless KitchenAid kitchen (warming drawer, cook-top, double built-in convection oven, hood, etc.). Im now looking at the four repair tickets that document the three months it took for them to get the double oven model #KEMS308SSS04 brains working - thankfully covered under warranty as it was within weeks of installation that the troubles began - and thinking I didnt know how good I had it then compared to the dishwasher travails Im still going through!.The dishwasher - Model #KUDS30FXSS1 - has broken down four times. The first time was just after the warranty ran out and we paid for labor when they replaced the controller circuitry. The second was shortly after the first and we paid again for the part to be installed - both times having to wait several days, dishwasher less, for the part to be delivered after the diagnosis. On the third time the control panel went dark, about two months ago, I opened the unit (having seen techs do it four times) and after jiggling the circuit boards and re-seating the plugs it lit up and worked... until we loaded it after dinner last Thursday. Now the control panel is once again dark. Im waiting for some response from Kitchen Aid and Im warning you not to buy Whirlpool corporation stuff as it doesnt dont work and the company doesnt care.

Purchased a $7000 Kitchen Aid refrigerator 6 years ago (KSSO48FTX02) at the suggestion of the salesman at JC Perreault in Montreal. Thankfully our $25,000 purchase of appliances did not include any other Kitchen Aid products as my recent problem has been nothing short of a customer service nightmare. Our refrigerator, which other than a constant noise problem, had been relatively reliable. Last month, a constant beeping sound and on/off of a motor was observed. In addition the control panel lights were constantly flashing whenever the door was opened. For 3 days - getting through the 800 number was impossible - so I was forced to call an outside tech. Upon hearing of the problem he informed me that there was a 90% chance the motherboard was fried. I told him to come over anyhow and in 5 minutes of pressing buttons he confirmed it - AND that the replacement part was DISCONTINUED by Kitchen Aid because of the Tsunami in Japan 5 years ago! The only fix would be a black market repair and it would cost me $2000, and it might not even work! When I finally got through to customer service at KA, they confirmed that the part was no longer being made and they suggested I check out Ebay or Amazon for replacements! The nightmare continues as I try to decide whether or not to cut my losses and buy a new fridge - and remodel my kitchen in the process since this one was built-in. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT MADE BY KITCHEN AID, or Whirlpool or Jenn-air.

I checked online and found this same model is still being produced. I called Whirlpool who’s the parent company to discuss my options since I had 2 more years on extended warranty. After escalation to 3 levels of supervisors I was told they would only send me the depreciated amount of the microwave. The terms state replace or give cash settlement. But I was told at this time they are not replacing the microwaves. This is very upsetting and breach of what I was told when I purchased the extended warranty because this model fits my cabinet and trim kit.

I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with KitchenAid. In 2003 I purchased a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. No calls ever to the customer service for any problems. They lasted 14 years. Thats why I went with them again. BIG BIG MISTAKE. This refrigerator Model#KRMF706ESS has been a problem since I plugged it in. I have missed almost two weeks of work waiting for technicians. I have had many service calls for the same issue and Im still not sure if its resolved. The last technician came out last week and within days my refrigerator is broken again. We started seeing puddles on the floor. The ice was melting in the container. We emptied container and now it doesnt make ice. I called KitchenAid, nothing they can do, when is enough, enough with these people. There was nothing wrong with the money I gave them for the refrigerator. I purchased a new appliance and its been nothing but a pain. They have replaced the same part three times. It still wont fix the problem. I am beyond frustrated. If I could give negative stars I would. When I contact the customer service department its like I am bothering them and wasting their time. They are wasting mine. Customer Service is a thing of the past with their rude customer service people and they dont care now that they have my money. It wasnt working right from the start and it continues to be a problem. I have lost faith in my refrigerator. I dont know if I could go on holidays and leave this appliance on. I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with this refrigerator. The service guy said that they have had nothing but problems with this model. They didnt test it long enough. I guess whoever buys it is a guinea pig. I would never ever ever recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid again. This is the absolute worst service. Since Day 1 it hasnt worked properly. They tell me in order for it to be replaced it has to not be cooling. A technician has to report to them that it is unrepairable and then after he does that, they send it to their engineers and then they see if they can come up with a solution. They could care less how many days of work I miss. They are waiting for my warranty to expire so they can take me to the cleaners for the continued work I know will have to be done once it is out of warranty. Thats the day they are waiting for... class action... thats the day I am waiting for. I know its only $5000.00 but it has cost me more than that now with all the time off work. What happened to the days where companies actually cared about the customer??? I was told the first time I bought the KitchenAid back in 2003 was when it was KitchenAid KitchenAid, now it is KitchenAid Whirlpool and now it sucks!!!!

I bought a Kitchenaid dish washer (KUDS30IXSS8) based on my experience of decades of reliable, high quality product ownership. If you are reading this, you already know what a complete piece of junk your dish washer is because youre once again repairing the thing. My upper dish rack height adjustment mechanism self destructed after only one year, sending small pieces of plastic into the water flow. Of course they ended up in the food chopper and thus, trashed the blade and plastic shaft assembly. Whirlpool refused to send the part, even though the flawed design from the rack mount is what caused the damaged. They wanted to order a service call, at my expense, or they offered me an extended service plan for $270. The part only cost around $12 from from Amazon. There was plenty of how-to videos on the web to show you how to fix the part, so I opted to fix it myself. The new part looks exactly the same with no structural improvements so Whirlpool continues to put out inferior parts to go perfectly with their inferior products.

This fridge is 5 years old only, and have been struggling to repair the ice maker for one whole year and no one could fix the problem. KitchenAid is not a good brand. I bought it from Pacific Sales. The rust showed inside the bucket of the ice maker since we bought it, mold created inside the fridge, bad built kind of refrigerator, very fragile drawers. Don’t you ever buy KitchenAid products, trust me I’m still struggling to repair it.

It is almost easier to handwash and dry the dishes and be done. Instead the dishwasher runs for a long time and when you open to put up dishes you then have to dry each and every item. I would not recommend this product.

I paid for high-end KitchenAid appliances because of the reputation of quality and service, and Ive experienced nothing but the opposite; in 2 years, my refrigerator needed a cooling element replaced, my oven glass exploded across my kitchen (thank goodness my children were not standing there!), a heating element in my convection microwave needed to be replaced, and most recently a door switch in the microwave needed replacing because it was causing it to not operate. This last repair, I was out of the 2-year warranty by one month, and they are refusing to cover the $142 cost of the repair. They dont stand by their products. In 2 years, for the thousands of dollars we paid, nothing should go wrong with any appliances, let alone these many occurrences. And to not cover a repair being 1 month past warranty, especially with all of the other problems Ive had, even just to save face, is ridiculous for such a large company.

In December we purchased a complete appliance package from KitchenAid. When delivered the first problems were damaged interior of the dishwasher, fan on the microwave was hitting on something. KitchenAid sent out a service company to fix that problem. Next the interior of the oven start to fall apart. There were crack all along the bottom and pieces of the blue enamel started to break off. KitchenAid sent out another tech. And the stove top started having bubbles show up around the heating elements. KitchenAid sent out another tech. The tech said that the stove was bad and had to be replaced. KitchenAid fought us on the cooktop saying it was cosmetic and would not change it out. We told them no way. Brand new appliances should not be doing that after only a month. They only agreed to replace the glass top. The tech told us that they are experiencing a lot of problems with this new line of appliances. The new oven microwave unit came in yesterday and the microwave doesnt work properly. The tech said that he has to open up a brand new appliance can take it apart to fix it. KitchenAid has been absolutely unhelpful. My next step is to call up an attorney! We have brand new appliances that are breaking down after a few week and the same day. I have no confidence in KitchenAid.

Regarding our 42 side by side built-in fridge. After some years it starting making some serious loud noises. Finally the fridge gave out. Repairman said he thought the motherboard had gone. OK, fair enough... just order another motherboard, right? My repairman could not find a motherboard in Canada or in the USA. It had to be order through Kitchenaid... but no problem, right?? The company is American, right??? Not so fast. The initial timeline was 4 weeks (which is bad enough) but in the end IT WAS 4 MONTHS!!! During this time I called Kitchenaid more than once to find out where my motherboard was. They could not, or would not give me a straight answer as to any timeline to expect it. My thinking was that it was somewhere in China being created. Thank God we had another fridge in the garage but I have learned my lesson. NEVER, NEVER never will I purchase another Whirlpool product ever again!!! You would think when you pay $10,000 for a fridge a better repair experience would follow. After looking at various makes and models of ovens online, we purchased/ordered our KitchenAid wall oven (KEBS107) back in August 2012, waiting for over 2 months for the actual delivery of the new oven. Over the next year and a half, we had occasional issues with the oven not heating properly - sometimes it would pre-heat quickly - sometimes it would seem to take a very long time to reach the desired temperature - especially if I was needing to change the temperature during use. After 16 months of use, the thermal fuse had to be replaced. Apparently the oven door has to be closed at ALL times, especially when broiling. Now, after two years of use, the oven is acting up once again and not heating properly. I purchased an oven thermometer to verify this. KitchenAid is going to cover this 2nd repair, even though I was told that my ESP was not currently in effect (which is another frustrating story that I wont go into). I am thinking at this point that there is a major design flaw with this appliance. Having any sort of electronic/module located just over the opening of an appliance that can get very hot was probably not a good idea. If I cant open the door of a hot oven to check on or remove the contents inside, what good is it????? This oven has been nothing but frustrating pretty much since we bought it!

My KitchenAid dishwasher caught fire caused damage to my home. There was a class action lawsuit with a substantial settlement/compensation to the owners. KitchenAid offered me $100 off MSRP for a new dishwasher. I can purchase a new dishwasher for hundreds off msrp at my local mom and pop store. KitchenAids offer is not only insulting and offensive but also no different to what they offer all their customers with minor complaints. Kitchenaid dishwashers involved in the lawsuit were found to be faulty and downright dangerous as they catch fire and can burn a home down. Had I not been home at the time, my home would have been destroyed and $100 is what they think is appropriate. KitchenAid does not stand by their products nor do they provide support or assistance.

My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel failure twice now. The first time it’s just the oven that would not light and one of the panels (there are evidently 3) was faulty and was replaced under warranty. The second time the electronic control panel short-circuited and turned on the convection fan, which got red hot. Sparks and smoke were coming from under the burners, which is where the panels are located. I was not using the stove at all, but thankfully I was home! I was able to throw the circuit breaker in the basement. When the stove stopped glowing red, I pulled it out from the wall and unplugged it. The repairman that first came is no longer available. I have not been able to find anyone that has a card for both electric and gas. Customer service expressed regret that they could not help me find a repairman, but said to let them know should I find one. What? I will not repair this stove. I consider it an extremely dangerous appliance and do not want it in my house. I feel that Whirlpool should do everything they can to correct the situation for other consumers. Ive found other mention of the same failure with this model.

Purchased from Lowe’s 9/21/18 and bought 5 year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Kitchen Aid did not supply refrigerator to Lowe’s until 11/15/18 (they said they weren’t ready to manufacture that model until then). I noticed first of August 2019 (8 months after delivery) that the long deli drawer (under the crispers) was not shutting completely on the left side. It stuck out like something stuck behind it. Upon checking, I found a block of ice (maybe 15” long by 5” high) behind the left half of that drawer. It was still under Manufacture warranty and they sent repairman from local appliance repair in 8/6/18.They returned 8/23/19 to repair. I had to empty the refrigerator and freezer 24 hours before and turn it off to allow the ice to melt I was informed. I did this. A pain is in the neck of course to relocate everything. The repair was made. 6 months later, I notice the same issue with left end of drawer not shutting. Sure enough, the same block of ice had returned. Called Lowe’s and they had no record of first incidence because that was MANUFACTURE WARRANTY incidence. Was rudely told this would be the FIRST incidence of such issue now that under Lowe’s extended warranty.I am set for yet another Appliance repair store to be here 2/13/20. So I’m sure they will also tell me to empty it before they return for repair! And my fear is this will be a temporary fix just like last time. I’ll be reporting it again in another 6-9 months and eventually my warranty will expire and I’ll be out the money because I have a LEMON!!! I think Kitchen Aid should replace it. I also would like to know if this issue has occurred often with this model. Maybe I don’t have a lemon, but the whole model manufactured at that time (between Sept 2018-November 2018) are faulty???

We trashed at least 500.00 worth of food and have been living out of an ice chest and an under counter refrigerator. I hired an independent repairman 12.26.2014. My cooling system was leaking but the control board was fine and the 12-year warranty was in effect. He referred me to Kitchen Aid factory service 12.29.2014 for 95.00. They told me it would be 1,200.00 out of my pocket to fix the WARRANTY coolant leak but they would not stand behind the repair. He also offered the tsunami tale. I went home and watched the evaporator fan run at full speed so my control board and refrigerator do not have the problems he outlined. I am now waiting for a call from Whirlpool to entice me to spend more on another of their wonderful products. This is criminal.

I purchased a new KitchenAid model KUDL15FXSS5 for a house I moved into in
I purchased a new KitchenAid model KUDL15FXSS5 for a house I moved into in January of this year. It was professionally installed and seemed to be operating properly when I ran it with normal load of dishes. The dishes did not come clean. There was food still on the plates and silverware. Soap was still draining from the detergent tray. I was perplexed. To give some background, I had been living across the street from my new location for 2 years in a house with the same water supply (main), using a 10-year-old dishwasher, using the same Cascade liquid detergent (recommended brand), getting great results. The only new variable is the dishwasher. I tried again using the ProWash cycle, same results.I added the recommended rinse aid, same results. I took out the dishes and washed them by hand. I then tried the dishwasher again with another load of dishes, still not clean. I ran the sink water until it was hot then tried again, still no improvement. I went online to the KitchenAid site and submitted a detailed problem report but never received a response. I finally called KitchenAid, went through all the call center questions and set up a service call. The technician spent about 30 minutes running through diagnostics only to tell me that everything checked out. He suggested the problem could be hard water or my detergent. When explained that Ive been living in the neighborhood for two years, his comment was, Well, they dont make them like they used to.I asked about the heater since it seemed to me that the water never got very hot. He indicated that energy star compliance has reduced the heater output to the point that it may impact cleaning performance. Long story short, Ive used KitchenAid products for 40 years. They were a good brand. Current product performance is not acceptable. The company does not seem to care. I guess Ill go to Goodwill and try to find a good used one.

My new KitchenAid double wall oven exploded 1 1/2 hour into the self-clean cycle. Shattered glass flew out the oven, spraying all over my kitchen and out into other rooms of the house. I couldnt get near it to shut it off, because glass shards kept recirculating in the convection oven out the vent. So I ran out to shut off the circuit breaker. I spent 2 hours cleaning up the mess. I vacuumed out, but the glass in both ovens that is stuck in gaskets surrounding doors spills out of hinges every time I open the door. I want a new oven, because I dont want glass shards in my food; and what is going to happen when I run the cycle on the bottom oven? It is a miracle no one got hurt, except for the cut on my daughters foot from a small piece I missed. This is the second Kitchenaid refrigerator I owned. The first one had problems right from the start. Multiple repairs within the year. Symptoms were not cooling properly, no ice, ice buildup on evaporator coil. Kitchenaid finally replaced the unit because of leak in sealed system. The second one came Jan 2018. By March had issues again. The same problems. Ice build up, no ice, not holding temp. 5 more house calls, loss of food, missed work then conveniently after the manufacturers Warranty expired Kitchenaid deemed it unrepairable. How convenient. I could have told them that back in March. The only problem is that now I am in extended warranty and they only offer 70% of the value. They would not say why it was unrepairable (the sealed system again which should have a 5 year manufactures warranty). I know this because its the same problem as the first one and the same symptoms on last house call. What else would be unrepairable?? I spent 4 hours on phone trying to get satisfaction but they just said, I can transfer you but it will be same answer. Unbelievable that they would rather lose customers for life than replace what is apparently a Manufacturing issue. You can search for class action lawsuits and find many complaints on the same issue. They simply do not care.... I actually believe they deliberately instructed the repair people what to do to stretch out the time to avoid giving me another replacement or my full purchase price money back. I bought Model KRFF707ESS01 for $3,500. Never had a working unit for more than a few months.

The induction electric range with aqua lift technology to clean the oven is very disappointing. The oven wasnt used often. Had some soil, but minimal. I followed the instructions and put 2 cups of filtered water in the oven and turned it on for 40 minutes. It did a terrible job cleaning, it looked like it wasnt cleaned at all. One good thing is there was no smell when using the cleaning process, not like my GE stove. My GE stove always did a good job with soil, had the stove for 30 years, it was great! The oven was always left clean after using the cleaning cycle.
