I too experienced the dishwasher top rack roller failure. The top rack rollers are secured by (2) cheap very thin plastic spreader clips. These clips are approximately 3/16 wide by 1/16 thick. If just one of these cheap clips breaks - the roller wheel will separate causing the rack to collapse along with progressive failure of the adjoining roller wheel clips. This deliberate design and manufacturing defect by KitchenAid is an obvious attempt at planned obsolesce. This once celebrated company is no longer interested in producing durable quality products. Avoid the purchase of all KitchenAid dishwashers!

I bought this French door refrigerator and it is beautiful! However, it is 2 years old and I have had to get it repaired three times due to compressor failure. Apparently this model has two compressors and it is causing a lot of issues. Being without a refrigerator for three plus days to defrost and then get serviced (my warranty ran out after 1 year) is a tremendous pain. I’ve always had Whirlpool but went a step up to KitchenAid and I am sorry I did.

Under no circumstances would I purchase the K-A double wall oven. Woe and pity to those reviewers who are stuck with one of these. I purchased the first one back in 2001, very excited about the great features. Within 3 years, the self-cleaning program failed 3 times, the entire motherboard once... Glad I bought the extended warranty. I had to argue with K-A/Whirlpool to finally get a replacement that supposedly had the bugs fixed. Not so; the self-cleaning cycle again twice blew out the entire oven(s). What was I offered this time? A percentage of my original purchase price to be used toward another of the same model? Why on earth would I pay for or even want another of the same failing product? After several repairs for the same issue, K-A told me they would no longer fix the ovens if the self-cleaning problem happened again. So, for the past 5 years, I have resorted to the old cleaning method (for fear of blowing the units). Now I am in the process of a kitchen remodel. Believe it or not, most of the retailers are recommending Kitchen-Aid, how dare they? I have investigated many brands of medium to high end quality and price. I recommend the GE Profile or Cafe series for both performance, worry free use and fair pricing. (NO, I do not work for GE!) FYI- The K-A tech told me the company has known about the self-cleaning blowout for years. Cheaper to fix on warranty or charge the customer that correct the problem! Let the buyer beware!

We purchased KitchenAid fridge, Model # KFIS29PBMS00 from Lowes in May of 2015. We began having problems within 2 weeks of it being installed in our home. We had to have it serviced 7 times to finally get it repaired. It was finally repaired by the end of June. Subsequently, I had to keep throwing away food, taking off of work, etc. Now, 9 months later, it is working infrequently now. It started making a noise, like a lower sound like a leaf blower. Then, it started losing temperature. Main purpose of my writing a review... dont be fooled by KitchenAid supposedly being one of the top the line fridges/freezers at Lowes. At our old home, the fridge was there when we moved in and was still working perfectly when we left 10 1/2 years later. It was a GE.Result: I will never buy another Kitchen Aid or Whirlpool product. Although some of their products may be acceptable, the company has cost my family money through the loss of food and work and inconvenience for 9 months for a fridge that cost almost $2000! They should replace it because apparently it is a sub-standard product.

The oven is just over a year old. The inside of oven the paint is coming off. Some chips some tiny pieces of blue paint. My concern is these pieces are floating around while my food is cooking in the oven causing it to land on my food. Called KitchenAid. They sent a technician out and they ordered me touch up paint. I explained this will not sell the safety issue of paint in our food. They are offering me nothing else. I really want my money back to buy another brand. We are extremely unhappy.

We bought our KitchenAid Built-In Refrigerator in 2008 for approx $7,500. We have had several issues with the Ice Maker. However, this week, the Main Controller Board went out and had to be repaired. The authorized repair company told us that the Board had been discontinued by KitchenAid and they would work to get the board repaired. I called KitchenAid and eventually got through to someone that explained that the company that produced this board is located in Japan and was hit by the Tsunami and can no longer provide the board. Also, we are out of warranty and this is now our problem. My issue is that I had expectations that this high-end expensive refrigerator would last more than 6 years. A built in refrigerator should be repaired not replaced. I find it unacceptable that KitchenAid wouldnt have a Dual Source for this key component to the refrigerator. Bottom Line - Very Disappointed in KitchenAid!

We bought out KITCHENAID dishwasher for a few reasons, (1) we love our KITCHENAID small appliances and (2) they were recommended by the sales person in the store. Our experience with all of our KITCHENAID large appliances has been very disappointing. Quality for price is zero. We have repaired our dishwasher 8 times in 8 years. To the point where the repairman is like an old friend! Our other KitchenAid appliances have had multiple repairs as well. Suffice it to say we will never buy another KitchenAid large appliance or anything else made by Whirlpool. I would rather pay more. Especially when all in I have paid the equivalent of a top of the line dishwasher for a piece of rubbish!

After reading all of the negative reviews about Whirlpools Customer Service, I felt I had to post my very positive experience. We purchased a KitchenAid Architect series refrigerator in April 2015. Unfortunately, it turned out be a defective fridge which would not be repaired. We had several visits to repair the unit since it simply would not defrost, and several different technicians, but in the end they couldnt fix the problem. I was quite apprehensive about what resolution would be offered and was ready for a big battle. To my surprise, Whirlpool (KitchenAid) Customer Service couldnt have been better. They offered me an exchange or a complete refund without hesitation. Even through my repairs, each call was handled promptly and efficiently. I have no complaints and even though this refrigerator didnt turn out to be what I had hoped for, I would not hesitate to purchase a KitchenAid appliance again in the future.

I purchased a new KitchenAid Superba EQ Series 24 dishwasher model KUDE40FX
I purchased a new KitchenAid Superba EQ Series 24 dishwasher model KUDE40FXBL4 from Sears.com on November 21, 2011. The appliance was delivered and installed on December 5, 2011. In May of 2012, the dishwasher stopped mid-cycle and would not drain the water from the tub. The control panel was totally non-functional. On May 18, 2012, a factory authorized repairman from A&E Factory Service attempted to repair the dishwasher by replacing a bi-metal fuse. The dishwasher functioned until June when the same repairman returned on June 1, 2012 because the dishwasher had again stopped mid-cycle, would not drain water and the control panel was non-functioning. At this time, the repairman installed a controller and fuse. I told the repairman I was very concerned that the dishwasher had to be repaired twice within a two-week timeframe. I also mentioned the fact that the dishwasher possibly could be defective and that I did not want an appliance that needs constant servicing. The repairman assured me that KitchenAid would replace the dishwasher if it continued to break down.Yesterday, December 6, 2012, one year and one day after the initial installation of the dishwasher, the dishwasher again shut down mid-cycle. I spent over an hour on the telephone attempting to get a satisfactory resolution from KitchenAid and/or Sears. I was not satisfied with anything KitchenAid or Sears offered. Their basic answer was that I should have the appliance repaired and buy an extended warranty. My answer to that is why throw good money after bad? All that accomplishes is to make the purchase price of a defective product cost even more. If after two service calls during the first six months of use KitchenAid factory service has not been able to accomplish a complete and total repair of the dishwasher so that it does not breakdown every six months, then purchasing an extended warranty will not fix the defective product.I was a loyal customer of KitchenAid products prior to this bad experience. I had a wonderful KitchenAid dishwasher prior to purchasing this defective model, but the wire baskets needed replacing and were so expensive. I thought it wiser to invest in a new dishwasher than to put new baskets in a 10-year old dishwasher. I now realize what a foolish decision that was. That dishwasher is still functioning perfectly in someone elses home while I am facing the possibility of dealing with a defective appliance that will require servicing every six months or replacing. Either way, I lose. It is my educated opinion that KitchenAid should replace the defective appliance and recall that model. To the reasoning mind, the thought occurs that these breakdowns are a built in ploy to sell extended warranties and thus keep the parts and service departments also in business. While this practice of planned breakdowns may appear to be a revenue generator equal to or greater than planned obsolescence, it may prove detrimental in the long run. As a particular and wise consumer, I will find another manufacturer of a longer durability and better quality product or just give up the dishwasher all together. The consumer does have other options. At any rate, I refuse to be forced into paying additional funds for a dishwasher that is not functioning up to the original expectation of the purchase price of $1,377.01, which is an overcharge for a product that only works for six months at a time.

Unfortunately it is no longer under warranty as of March of this year. Control panel does not function as of today. Not impressed. Will never buy another KitchenAid Product as long as I or anyone in my family lives. And am going to spread the word to everyone I come in contact with. The KitchenAid dishwasher I purchased in November 2019 is pretty, and its the quietest one Ive ever had. When its running, its hardly noticeable. But...its simply not good at thoroughly cleaning every dish and utensil, especially for the price point (≈$900), to warrant spending the money on it. Add to this, it is horrible at drying the dishes/utensils. I would not purchase again. I bought a suite of KitchenAid appliances when I got it as part of an entire kitchen remodel. The double-oven, dual fuel range and above-range microwave with vent are fantastic, and the cabinet-depth refrigerator is decent. But whoever designs and then builds KitchenAids dishwashers needs to go back to the drawing board. Next purchase will be a Bosch. Stay away from this model from KitchenAid.

Two years ago, we brought 5 items from KitchenAid. Basically, we spent over $10,000.00 and we have nothing but breakdowns. I did not extend our warranty as this would cost us over $800 a year plus I thought. Why buy a warranty as I should be buying quality? Well I was WRONG. First, the Refrigerator had problems, but they were able to fix that (in the first year). Second, the range kept clicking. That took two service trips (first year). Third, cannot remember actually but we had a problem with the double oven. Fourth, the refrigerator was leaking and ruin by built in cupboard as we did not realize the problem straight away (second year), pay just over $200 and had to put one of those metal door plates over the bottom of the cupboard as it was soak so had to cut the bottom off.Fifth and last I hope, press self clean on oven and you guessed it, burnt out the oven. Cost of repair nearly $900. When I spoke to customer service, they told me basically, Tough luck. You should have brought the extended warranty. I am finding out that this is a problem with Whirlpool self clean ovens. But my argument is that this feature does not work so I should not be held responsible for this. Customer Service answer was YOU SHOULD have BROUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. So beware. If you are thinking that buying KitchenAid is Quality, THINK AGAIN. Will never buy or endorse KitchenAid again unless they step up to the plate and recognize their mistakes. Really, why buy quality if they can only support it with 1 year warranty (thats a red flag)? Because every major kitchen appliance from any brand gives you 1 year warranty. Thank you for reading this. Now you know the pitfalls.

My refrigerator has lasted me 21 years and its still ticking. I had 2 different KitchenAid Dishwashers in 9 years. Neither lasted more than 5 years. One only lasted 4 -- AND I bought the 5 year warranty. However, it doesnt cover the PUMP which broke. What is the use!?! I am so frustrated. I was dismissed by their customer service, and just told sorry. Well, that is certainly not good enough. This is a rip-off. If you are ok with spending over $800 every four years, good for you, but I am not. I called repair people in my area and they said the minimum cost to repair is 400. They said that model was not good to begin with, but I researched and researched, and I trusted the name. But they dont stand behind their product to even have parts in their warranty. I have been purchasing KitchenAid thinking about high reputation of the company. I bought all my KitchenAid appliances (refrigerator, gas range, microwave, dishwasher) at PC Richards 15 months ago. We are the family of two adults, so you can imagine that we use this dishwasher twice a week at the most. However, after 15 months of such rare uses the dishwasher failed. I rinse off the dishes every time before running the cycle but for the past couple of weeks all the dishes are not clean at all after even running two cycles. I tried to resolve the issue by calling PC Richards but all they told me that the service technician will cost me $125 to evaluate the problem. Apparently I am stuck with the product failed to operate after a bit over a year. I am extremely upset that the company doesnt stand behind the product they produce and will never buy KitchenAid products again.

In July of 2014, we bought a KitchenAid fridge with all the bells and whistles. French Door with the ice bin in the fridge door, electronic control of temp in wine drawer, 3 pull out trays in freezer and so on. We paid $3299.99 and it was by far the worst purchase I have ever made. 2 weeks after it was delivered I awoke to my kitchen floor covered in water. The water was dripping out of the LED lights in the fridge. I called to have a tech come out and they came 3 days later and changed 2 parts then said it would be fine. 3 hours later, it started leaking water again. I called and another tech came out 5 days later and did some adjustments then left. The next day, I woke to more water on the floor. Tech came again 6 days later changed a few parts. 6 hours later, water all over the floor. It took 7 technicians to finally fix the problem. I thought it must have just been a freak thing and surely everything will be fine now. 3 months later, my fridge wasnt staying cold. All the milk products were spoiled and I had just went shopping the day before. I called to have it serviced. Took 9 days for a tech to come out and they changed the seal. The following day still not cold. I called again waited 5 days for a tech and they changed the computer. All fixed again. 4 months later my freezer quit working. Again, it took 2 calls and 2 weeks to get it fixed.Well, I am on the last straw, my freezer quit working again yesterday. I called for a tech and I have to wait till next Thursday (8 days) for someone to show up. I told them I dont even want the fridge anymore, it is unreliable. They told me that if it had 4 or more problems in a 12 month period they would replace it but since they have been spread out over the past 20 months they will not. So here we go again.I thought KitchenAid was a great name brand. They make great mixers and other small appliances I cant go wrong. WRONG!!! They know what they are doing with small appliances but their large appliances are cheaply made and use the cheapest parts that always seem to fail. Stay clear of their refrigerators. In less than 2 years I have had 11 technicians out and the 12th is coming next Thursday. I have had 8 parts replaced so far and have lost who knows how much money in food spoilage. If they really stood behind their product they would have by now replaced the fridge.

I purchased a dishwasher from Lowes in 2015. 1st of all Lowes extended warranty runs consecutively with the manufacturers warranty so you really are getting 1 yr less of a warranty than you pay for. I had a service repair man come out and diagnose the problem and said it was $400.00 to repair. I called KitchenAid and they said it should still be under warranty because I had a 1 yr manufacturer warranty and I paid for a 3 yr extended warranty. WRONG!!! I called Lowes and thats when they said the extended warranty starts from day 1 of purchase, running the same time as the manufacturer. So I called KitchenAid back because the dishwasher does have a 2-5 yr manufacturer limited warranty BUT since I did not use one of their two service companies, both I have never heard of, to look at it, they will not cover the part needed and wont accept the other companys diagnosis because they are not an authorized service company with KitchenAid. The 1st customer service agent I had was very helpful, the 2nd call, the agent was not friendly at all. Said the 1st agent should have been more clear and have a good day. I will never buy another KitchenAid product and I definitely will never purchase another warranty for appliances. They are a waste of money.

The thermal fuse has blown out several times over the last two years, and is costing money each time. KitchenAid could care less - they are raking in the money as exclusive supplier of the parts. We have other Whirlpool and KitchenAid products, and the process is always the same. Theres no help from the company, no cheap parts, and theres aggravation at a simple machine that is designed to break down. Our Whirlpool dishwasher is designed with too small of a draincock, and it constantly blocks up. I am a repairman, and I am tired of coming home and fixing these ** things. We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator and double oven wall unit when we moved into our new home March of 2010. We have had issues with the ice maker/water dispenser not working. The temperature Not staying cold. The veggie tray LID fell off. Now its dead! The repair man did not have an answer, he made many phone calls and theyve decided its the motherboard, which will cost us $500 and a week to get in. Well then it started working, then it died, right now its cooling. The Ice/water in the door was so gross - from water and ice? Theres no way to take it apart to clean. After months of trying to clean the black mold out of it, I finally found a hand held steam pressure cleaner to clean it. I WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE A 30 YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR in my garage thats still working. Its NOT a KITCHENAID! Then theres the double ovens, that are self-cleaning thats a joke. When I lock the oven to clean it, it blows a circuit and we have to call someone to fix it. The last time the guy said I wouldnt use it. Its NEVER worked, and that was the reason I bought it. BUT I have to clean the ovens by hand because the advertised self cleaning was just a lie. At this point I would rather buy a refrigerator that I can rely on. I tell everyone, Do not buy Kitchenaid. I just came in the house after spending about an hour and a half mowing the lawn. To my surprise, the KitchenAid Microwave (Model KHMS155LSS-3 Oct 2005) was running by itself. I tried to turn it off using the buttons, but none of them worked. I ended up opening the door and unplugging the unit to get it to stop running. The inside of the microwave was absolutely smoking hot! Before unplugging it, the digital display was indicating PAN. I plugged the microwave back into the outlet, and PAN again appeared. Seconds later, the microwave started to run by itself again so I unplugged it again. I called Whirlpool (800/331-7456) and they said it was most likely a control board problem, and that they would be mailing a new one to my house. They also scheduled a service call which is a week and a half from today. Thank God I was at home or we might not have a home (and pets) to come back to. This unit should have been recalled! Do I really want this unit in my house even if it has been repaired?

Bought a great looking KitchenAid oven last year, but it has an unusual malfunction of blowing hot air from the oven into the kitchen for extended periods of time while the oven is on, and most annoyingly, after the oven is turned off. It heats up the kitchen so much it is uncomfortable to be in there while cooking anything in the oven.Just now, we turned off the oven more than an hour ago, and incredibly, the fan in the oven suddenly turned on and for about five minute spewed more hot air into our kitchen. This is a major malfunction. Previously contacted KitchenAid, but the phone operator could not help and thought this was normal. This cannot possibly be normal. It probably heats up the kitchen by 10 to 15 degrees, which is a killer. DO NOT BUY THIS STOVE/OVEN.

Kitchenaid kdrp767rss01 range/oven - Have had the third (expensive) problem with my KitchenAid combo gas range and electric oven within a year. There are three expensive control boards in the appliance (each $200+). As of today, all three have failed and been replaced over the last 12 months. KitchenAid doesnt seem to know that heat is the arch enemy of electronics and that when you put electronics in a high temperature appliance, you need to take special care to protect them. My next stove will be a wood-burner with no electronics. Maybe not, but it wont be a KitchenAid.

Just 4 years ago we purchased this dishwasher (KUDC101XWH) to replace another KitchenAid that we had for almost 20 years with literally no problems. The new dishwasher has now stopped working for the 5th time. The first time was under warranty but the fuse was not covered - of course. Then it was the latches, and then it was the wiring which was fixed two months before. We have spent about what it cost to purchase it in the first place. KitchenAid has been no help. I was told by one of the service people never to buy this brand nor Whirlpool nor Maytag. I am attempting to get my last service payment refunded and will go out today to buy another dishwasher - not KitchenAid!

May 2011, I purchased a French door fridge, with bottom freezer. After several service calls, they finally changed the main electronic board on December 2011. However, this is the end of February and once again everything is freezing in the fridge compartment. I raised the temp to 40 degrees and it is still too cold to touch the food. I spent multiple thousands for Kitchen Aid Fridge, Oven, DW and microwave, at this moment, the fridge is the worst of them.

My control panel had to be replaced because the oven temp was off by sixty degrees. That was in November. However, it didnt repair everything because I can no longer turn the oven on. I have been told its the touch pad. The service company ordered the part and KitchenAid said it is backordered until at least the end of February. I have been without an oven since early December! I have a family and I am an avid baker. No oven for three months? In addition, all the apartments in our complex have this oven and one by one, the problems are the same. What can I do?

Please let me preface my following KitchenAid experiences with stating... I am well educated with university degrees in science and mechanical disciplines. Further, I completely understand that machines can be complex and occasionally need maintenance/repairs. I do not consider myself a complainer or online-junkie. However, KitchenAid warrants my outcry and warning to other consumers.December 2015 we replaced every major appliance in our kitchen with top-of-the-line KitchenAid appliances. A bad $9000 decision! Within 9 months the French Door refrigerator had two major repairs including a complete tear-down of the unit to replace the compressor. Since then it has been running more loud! The dealer (Anthonys TV and Appliance in Midwest City, Oklahoma) would not authorize replacing the defective unit despite an expensive extended warranty that was purchased during original acquisition. At least, on the refrigerator, we had the extended warranty or the compressor replacement would have cost huge dollars.Within 6 months the expensive built-in oven had to be re-calibrated because the temperature was so far off. It takes FOREVER for the unit to pre-heat. The screen readout on the unit shows the pre-heat is on, Low, and customer service states there is not a correction. This is a known issue on forums!Currently the dishwasher is awaiting pump motor replacement and has already had (a) the water valves replaced and (b) the expensive upper rack assembly replaced because it literally fell apart from becoming too brittle in the plastic sliding mechanism (another known problem on forums). Three (3) expensive repairs (out of warranty) on a dishwasher in 24 months? Bad! The $900 microwave has a mind of its own and often starts running again after a cycle is complete. And, sometimes when we close the microwave door, the unit starts running by itself necessitating the opening and closing of the door 2-3 times until the unit remains off. Bad!In summary... we purchased KitchenAid over Korean brands Samsung and LG in part to support the Made in USA label. Also, prior to purchase I contacted three appliance repair companies in the Oklahoma City area to ask their advice on brands that had good reputations for reliability and availability of parts. All three of the appliance repair companies recommended KitchenAid because Samsung and LG were reputed as having poor parts availability and did not offer training to techs as well as KitchenAid/Whirlpool Corp. does. Well, the Korean companies may have supply-side problems but... KitchenAid has very poor quality problems! To date we have had six (6) service calls and spent $100s to repair a suite of top-of-the-line KitchenAid appliances within 24 months of acquisition. That is unacceptable and I do not recommend KitchenAid to anyone. Avoid KitchenAid appliances. KitchenAid appliance have very poor reliability record. KitchenAid appliances are expensive to repair. KitchenAid appliances break down often. KitchenAid appliances are overpriced. KitchenAid appliance dealer (Anthonys TV and Appliance in Midwest City, Oklahoma) will not authorize replacement of lemon units and instead choose to force expensive warranty repairs onto customers, resulting in big cash flow to dealer from Whirlpool Corp. The dealer makes money and the customer must live with appliances which have lost factory integrity. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID APPLIANCES.

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

We purchased new Kitchen Aid Appliances for a total kitchen remodel 3 1/2 years ago. We also purchased the extended warranty from the people who sold us the fridge (Kitchen Aid Counter Depth Refrigerator with French Doors), range, and dishwasher. Both the range and the fridge have had problems within 2-3 years of use. The range had warranty (from the extended warranty coverage) repairs 3 separate times! Now, the fridges water valve stuck open and flooded the kitchen floor which is 3/4 inch tongue and groove maple hardwood. The extended warranty people (Repair Master) will only cover fridge repairs. (They deny they will cover any collateral damage.) We still have another year and a few months on the fridges extended warranty which would take it to the appliance being 5 years old. The extended warranty people said we have to go to Kitchen Aid for help with the floor damage. Just got off the phone with Kitchen Aid and they denied any obligation since their 1-year warranty was up. So, with what could be several thousand dollars of damage to the kitchen floor, we are forced to place a claim with our homeowners insurance! We have never paid more for appliances in our lifetimes (married 35 years) than we did for what was supposed to the top end appliances such as Kitchen Aid. And then, once Kitchen Aid has your money and a year out of you - you are on your own! We will never purchase Kitchen Aid again. They are simply not Worth IT! And the extended warranties are baloney too! You might as well save your money. Its too bad that big companies dont care about the little guy anymore! Think long and hard before you buy Kitchen Aid!

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Its not the company that produced my 30-yr-old KA mixer, is it?

I purchased this 36 built-in side by side in 6/06 with the thought that it would be a good refrigerator --I couldnt be more wrong!! At 3 years, we started having problems. So far repairs include a new circuit board, hinge repairs, evaporator, drier, compressor and fan motor, and an ugly repair kit to cover up the burned area that runs the full length - top to bottom - on the front panel between the freezer and refrigerator doors that happened because KitchenAid didnt put a big enough fan motor in. And here again, it is leaking Freon, so the entire refrigerator has to be gutted again to replace the evaporator, compressor, heat loop and? KitchenAid will cover the parts at an approx. cost of $800-$1000, this type of sealed system is covered for 12 years. The labor, however, is out of my pocket at $2,000.One of the repair techs told me these type of sealed systems RARELY go bad which is why KitchenAid backs them up for so long. Go figure!! And, did I mention the cost of food spoilage!! GRAVELY DISAPPOINTED IN KITCHENAID!!! Oh, and I need to mention the KitchenAid convection oven that had to be replaced early on (under warranty) and the microwave oven that was replaced 3 times and after that I put up with door that didnt quite and still doesnt fit quite right. GRAVELY DISAPPOINTED IN KITCHENAID!!!! WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER -- even with the discount they are happily giving me to buy another $8,000 refrigerator!!

The machine is about 15 years old, with three shelves. It was one of the more expensive dishwashers on the market when purchased. At about about 4 years, due to abusive use (seriously soiled and grease laden everything) the machine progressively clogged. Over a weekend I tore it apart and cleaned it. It has performed admirably in cleaning since then due to reasonably use. Just recently a door spring has broken, meaning the door must be lowered manually with care until I have an opportunity to repair it. When the machine finally wears out, I will buy a KitchenAid replacement as close as is available to this machine.

Love the fridge, but after two years freezer started to fill with ice. Determined it was a clogged drain line which is a design flaw. Happens often enough that there is a YouTube video to correct problem. Still have to pay for service call. Learned that nothing has been done to correct the problem. Really? Would cost next to nothing to correct. Now a $22 replacement part is available to fix. Cost me $100. Apparently when you buy KitchenAid top of the line range (KDRU783VSS), it does not have the auto shut off baking function. It just basically alerts you when the time is up like the timer. Does turn on when delay time is used, but you have to manually shut it off. What a crock. Im glad Whirlpool bought them out. Maybe they will terminate KitchenAid. They used to be good. Nothing but crap now. Im sure to leave a review. Also bought the french door fridge and it would throw ice around your glass and end up on the floor. We got a replacement and it did the same thing. We finally had to upgrade so it would stop doing that. Now I cant get the water filter to reset on the new one. We bought the whole kitchen including microwave and dishwasher. So far the last two are doing fine. Stay away from kitchen-headache!! Buy something else. Anything else.

We purchased this refrigerator, along with an entire line of KitchenAid appliances (dishwasher, stove, microwave, even a toaster oven). It has been a disaster since day one. The doors have never aligned correctly (as seen reviewed before) and the ice maker stopped working early on and water ran and ruined my wood floor (as reviewed before). But, the main problem is with the coils in the refrigerator that consistently ice up, allowing no air flow, therefore no cooling (which has been reviewed before). Obviously, this leads to spoiling food, which we have replaced numerous times due to the problem. Now, we keep a thermometer in it at all times, so once we see it start getting warmer, we have to take apart the refrigerator to defrost the ice that has covered the coils. We have had this problem serviced four or five times. Each time replacing various parts... the last time pretty much replacing EVERYTHING INTERNALLY.The service techs admit this is a problem, due to the dual compressor KitchenAid tried to do with this model. Even store salespeople admit it didnt work and has been changed. Well, enough is enough. I want a new refrigerator, not a replacement, not any more service calls. But, I have been told that I need to wait until it fails again, then call customer service again to report the problem. Someone will have to come out again and assess the problem... Should I just leave the rancid food in there for them to take back to KitchenAid with them once they come? Come on KitchenAid... read the file. Its all there in black and white... every single service call. Time to fess up and fix the problem, with a NEW refrigerator.

Have had 6 technician visits to attempt to fix (back of refrigerator freezes up, cant get filtered water, stops cooling and food rots in our absence). EVERY replaceable part that is not considered part of the inner compartment has been replaced. Our last technician, in writing, wrote that there was nothing else that could be done except replace the entire refrigerator and that ours was a lemon. I called the manufacturer (Whirlpool/KitchenAid) and they told me that I had a problem and they didnt, in other words... I was SOL. This is the second review I am writing about this oven. The first review I wrote was a couple weeks after it was installed and I gave it 5 stars. Its a beautiful oven. The stovetop/burners work great. The top oven is the one I use the most and at first it was fine, but after about a month, I noticed the blue interior is peeling off the base plate on the top oven and black splotches started appearing. I removed the base plate and tried to clean it but there wasnt anything on it. The blue was just disappearing in places. I took the oven plate back to the store I bought it at and they ordered a new one.The second plate started doing the same thing after only a couple of weeks. The blue coating is clearly not perfected and I really wonder if it is releasing chemicals or flaking off into the food. I cannot recommend this to anyone. KitchenAid - you need to do more testing before you release products into the market. I am a product developer - I know when something hasnt been tested appropriately. Im waiting for my third base plate to arrive but I am likely going back to the store to tell them to replace the oven. My preference would be to replace it with a different brand, but the over the oven microwave that a purchased at the same time is also KitchenAid brand (ut-oh).

I purchased this dishwasher after reading reviews of lower priced units that were rated as cleaning as good as a KitchenAid. I have owned at least a half dozen dishwashers in the last 35 years and this is the ABSOLUTE WORST I have ever used. It is quiet, it is good looking, but it can spread dirt where none existed before. I have tried everything and to get clean dishes it must be set to MAX and HALF loaded to get your half dirty dishes clean, AND thats only if you remember not to put anything at the corners of the trays and they will come out clean and WET! The vent is so small on these units it is nearly impossible for the vapour to escape. This unit original price was $1,999 and it doesnt work 1/2 as good as a $350 Kenmore. We purchased a French Door KitchenAid Refrigerator model #KFCS22EVMS8, that is just over two years old. It recently started leaking water from the freezer drawer onto the floor on a regular basis. As we have hardwood floors, this is a concern. We called KitchenAid and they ordered a service call, and since our refrigerator was no longer under warranty, we were responsible for the service fee. However, they covered the parts as a one-time goodwill gesture. Well, I discovered from online research that this model has a defective part that has totally been redesigned. The service agent at KitchenAid knew exactly which part to order without really asking me for many details. Even though this defect is totally theirs, they refuse to cover the labor when the problem is no fault of the consumer or due to age of the appliance. It will happen if your refrigerator has been assembled with this defective part, and unless you purchase the extended warranty, the consumer is responsible for the repair. Bad Business!

Well, we pretty much gave up on the KitchenAid KUDS30CX dishwasher after the second control panel break and then it quit giving enough water to clean the dishes. The repair man came for the water flow. He put a coffee cup in the top rack of the dishwasher and let it run. Because it filled, he said that it was working. However, after he left, we noted the locations of the sprayers before we closed the door. After running for an hour or so, we opened up the door and the sprayers were in the same position. We did it several times with the same results. So, we decided it was a clogged line of a bad pump/motor.I opened up the area around the bottom sprayer to reveal any filters and also anything else. I saw no debris. I did get to see the food grinder. It’s pretty wimpy looking. We gave up when it was ruled as a problem with the pump/motor. Who knows how many times this is going to happen over its life? It’s just not worth it. I went and got another brand. It’s a Whirlpool. They also make KitchenAid, but I could tell it was different underneath and in the panel. Hopefully, this one will be better as they are known for reliability. I did not get the food grinder because I could not help think it was part of the problem. Could the grinder be putting extra load on the motor and allowing it to burn up?

We purchased a KitchenAid side-by-side in April 2004 for our new home. The fridge never was very cool and we ended up calling for service in Jan 2005. The service tech told us to clean the compressor and it should work. The fridge was barely cold, but the service tech told us the fridge was fine. In May of this year (2012), the fridge stopped cooling completely. We lost hundreds of dollars of food. It took a week for the service tech to come out. He told us to defrost the freezer as there was ice inside it. We turned the fridge off for 24 hours as per his instruction. That didnt fix the problem. I called the tech back and he told us it must need new parts. We thought he ordered the parts but 2 weeks later, I followed up with KA customer care and were told that the service tech had closed our file and had noted in the file that we had decided to purchase a new unit. We had decided no such thing. I asked for the parts to be ordered and were told they were on backorder. Another 2 weeks went by with no word from KA or the service tech. Meanwhile, its the heat of summer, I have young children and no refrigerator. I called KitchenAid back and were told that one part was still on backorder and they had no idea when the part would be available. They offered no solution to the fact that our family had no working fridge. I asked them for the name and part number and tracked the part myself and ordered it. It took another week for the service tech to come out. I had to take another vacation day and waited for over 4 hours for him. KitchenAid techs only work 9-5, Monday to Friday. The service tech replaced 2 parts and said the 3rd wasnt needed. That was on July 6th. On Friday, July 23rd, the fridge and freezer completely stopped working and was actually hot. I called the service tech twice with no response. Today, July 30th, I called KitchenAid customer care and asked for the tech to come out tomorrow (July 31st) early in the morning as I cannot afford to take another vacation day. I was told that their techs only work 9-5, they will not make any provisions to accommodate working families and the rude, arrogant customer care supervisor told me that I needed to make the necessary arrangements to be available when the service technician turns up.We have been without a working refrigeration since May 2012. Its now the end of July. Weve wasted hundreds of dollars in spoiled food and KitchenAid has no care or regards for our situation. Furthermore, no one at KitchenAid appears able to resolve our issues. For a company whose slogan is For the way its made, I feel like they are falsely advertising their products because they are poorly made. I will never ever buy a KitchenAid product again and will do my best to inform anyone who asks me of my dreadful experiences with KitchenAid Canada.

Since we had previously remodeled our home in Irving, Texas using KitchenAid products which gave excellent service, we assumed we could rely on newer models to do the same. This was a mistake. We installed a stainless steel oven/microwave combination (Model No: KEHC309KSS 05, Serial No: XS060040 57). The microwave door springs continually break and the light bulb burns out regularly. The product requires a service call every year. It requires two men to change the microwave light bulb because the whole unit has to be pulled from the cabinet. One man must hold the unit while the second replaces the bulb. Even though the service people are told they must send two men, they seldom comply, requiring the scheduling of a second service call. If we did not continually purchase extended warranties, there would be no way to keep the product operable. After reading all of the posted complaints, we are now afraid to use the self-cleaning part of the actual oven. This was a poorly designed product which never should have been marketed in the first place. After a two page letter listing the number of service calls and the problems, we received a call from KitchenAid stating they had received the letter, had no record of any previous complaints and were relaying the information to their engineers. It sounded as though there would be no follow-up and no effort to resolve the complaint. Its amazing that a company can continue in business with so many complaints against it by relying on past reputation. We would never recommend a KitchenAid product again.

Bought this range 3 1/2 years ago and it worked fine until last Friday when it exploded in my face, burning my forearm. Shards of the glass top hit me in the face drawing blood. Fortunately, nothing in the kitchen caught fire and I didnt lose an eye. After two phone calls and more than an hour on the phone with two KitchenAid representatives, they declined to have a repair person come out to evaluate the damage and make a determination of whether it should be replaced or not. After I called around to find someone who could replace the product at our own expense, we found out that KitchenAid does not pay service people for warranty work so nobody in our area would come out to see it unless we paid them ourselves--which we are now going to do.From close examination of the damage, our best guess is there was an internal gas leak within the unit that ignited by the burners ignition spark as I began to prepare a meal, causing an explosion that burned my arm and shattered the glass top, sending shards of glass more than 30 feet. Please keep your family safe! Do not purchase this dangerous product. And, consider avoiding all KitchenAid products if you want them to deal fairly with you. We will take our business elsewhere.

KitchenAid refrigerator model #Ksf26c - We purchased our refrigerator less than a year ago and already have dents and scratches on the metal trim of the humidity control drawer and meat drawer. The quality of the metal trim is substandard. I called the parts department at KitchenAid and they will not replace the defective drawers because it is cosmetic. I would definitely recommend not purchasing this refrigerator.

I am having problems with our KitchenAid, KEBC107KWH03, again. The self cleaning feature shuts down the oven. This is our second time with just as many cleanings. It’s the same story from the repairman, Dont use the self cleaning feature”. I sent an email off to KitchenAid tonight. The last time, I too received the same sorry for you loss form letter from KA. This stove is a piece of $1,500 crap! What’s my plan? Thankfully, we have the extended warranty from Sears. If nothing can be worked out, I plan on self cleaning this thing after every service call.

We bought the KitchenAid refrigerator in 2013. It was on clearance at Lowes. Now I know why it was a great deal, because they have problems with them. As I read the reviews from other consumers, we have the same exact problem with the freezer. It leaks water and freezes on the tray after 1 year. We have to break up the ice and empty it out every two weeks. The ice maker quit making ice after three years and now I just shut off the ice maker. My husband bought me a KitchenAid mixer for Christmas 2015 and after a year of sitting on the counter I decided to use it. It literally Sucks. I have had my Sunbeam Mixer for over 15 years, Im still happy to use it. I will never buy KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Amana Product again.

I bought this 1st model about 8 years or when it was a new model. After 1 year the rectify started becoming very noisy to the point that you had to shut the bedroom door because of the sound! I bought it at Brandsmart USA and they sent out their tech in 2 weeks after call and ordered some parts and took another 2 weeks to come back and install. Seemed to work fine but soon the problem was back and another 2 weeks and a repeat of the latter! To make it short this went on into my extended warranty which I purchased with fridge. After humorous service calls from different techs they have me a refund and I purchased my 2nd same model rectify believing I had just got a lemon. Well to my surprise it began after about a year later with the same problems! I lost many days of work and pounds of food in this experience and was told this was going to be replaced also but to this day I have to defrost freezer and rectify about every 30 days. So my conclusion Dont buy a KitchenAid fridge because I see now after internet investigation Im not alone!!

It looks great in the wall, but I HATE this oven & wish I could replace!! It blows a very loud fan any time it is on - and it takes FOREVER to preheat! I mean 30-45 minutes to reach 350. And then blows an hour after you turn it off. No way to shut it off. After reading reviews of shattering glass, I am scared to death to try the self-clean feature! How do they get away with selling us these problem appliances?!

Every Kitchen Aid appliance we own has failed. We have had multiple repairs to the refrigerator (compressor failed), dishwasher (door hinges made of cord failed), oven (multiple problems), microwave door, etc. Only after I started blogging all over the internet, did Whirlpool partially compensate us for repairs (that is a very long story). This month, the plastic tabs holding the vent above the microwave broke, and the oven racks rusted when I washed them. The oven self-cleaning cycle doesnt work very well either. I will never, ever, buy a Kitchen Aid product again. I will tell my story everywhere.

Our KitchenAid built-in electric/convection oven started a fire and burnt a turkey to a crisp because I made the oh-so-unthinkable mistake of basting it during cooking. The repairman came out and said its normal for the broiler to come on during the cooking cycle if the oven temperature falls, but I cant see how any appliance manufacturer can think this is a good idea. Aside from the fact that this feature makes conventional roasting and other types of cooking impossible, more critically, it represents a serious design flaw that makes the oven a fire hazard. I have contacted the CEO of Whirlpool about this hazard but I do not expect any satisfaction given the response KitchenAid had when a cheap relay on our 13-month-old refrigerator failed causing the temperature to rise and all the food within to spoil. They simply told us that since the fridge was one month past the warranty, it wasnt their problem. How can they justify making appliances that have the potential to harm people?

This is coming out of frustration dealing with KitchenAid fridges. Had an older KitchenAid fridge (Built-In) which lasted about 15 years and decided to go with another KitchenAid as a replacement. Purchased the KBFN402ESS - where its categorized as a Luxury fridge, thats built-in with the latest technologies and cooling features, yet it was super expensive and have been a major headache since the get-go.1) The fridge delivered came as a LEMON. This was during a crucial time, when my wife just gave birth and were new parents, trying to have the fridge ready to cover my wifes nutrient intake, and breastmilk storage. It took KitchenAid 4 weeks to come back and forth for diagnostic / small repairs, and it was not until I was adamant that we must replace the fridge, and finally they noted as out of courtesy they will replace. If KitchenAid cannot guarantee the fridge will operate and perform well within 1 year of purchase, PLEASE GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS - why are you producing such poor quality products?2) Upon replacing the fridge, and its only been 8 months - this new fridge has gone berserk once again under normal operational usage. Freezer had frost build-up, and the technician came and noted that the whole control board, along with fans and other parts will now need to be replaced. All the frozen breastmilk and frozen items, including some of the items in the main fridge have been spoiled. In summary, 1) KitchenAid does not stand behind its products. 2) KitchenAid produces POOR QUALITY fridges labelled as LUXURY and HIGH-END Fridge. 3) KitchenAid customer care is slow, and does not address customers concerns and compensation.4) KitchenAid should perform stricter quality control and thorough testing before releasing products into the market with prompt service and warranty/guarantees - what good is your internal QC, if the fridge breaks on Day 1 or within 1 year?

Purchased from Lowe’s 9/21/18 and bought 5 year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Kitchen Aid did not supply refrigerator to Lowe’s until 11/15/18 (they said they weren’t ready to manufacture that model until then). I noticed first of August 2019 (8 months after delivery) that the long deli drawer (under the crispers) was not shutting completely on the left side. It stuck out like something stuck behind it. Upon checking, I found a block of ice (maybe 15” long by 5” high) behind the left half of that drawer. It was still under Manufacture warranty and they sent repairman from local appliance repair in 8/6/18.They returned 8/23/19 to repair. I had to empty the refrigerator and freezer 24 hours before and turn it off to allow the ice to melt I was informed. I did this. A pain is in the neck of course to relocate everything. The repair was made. 6 months later, I notice the same issue with left end of drawer not shutting. Sure enough, the same block of ice had returned. Called Lowe’s and they had no record of first incidence because that was MANUFACTURE WARRANTY incidence. Was rudely told this would be the FIRST incidence of such issue now that under Lowe’s extended warranty.I am set for yet another Appliance repair store to be here 2/13/20. So I’m sure they will also tell me to empty it before they return for repair! And my fear is this will be a temporary fix just like last time. I’ll be reporting it again in another 6-9 months and eventually my warranty will expire and I’ll be out the money because I have a LEMON!!! I think Kitchen Aid should replace it. I also would like to know if this issue has occurred often with this model. Maybe I don’t have a lemon, but the whole model manufactured at that time (between Sept 2018-November 2018) are faulty???

It’s an $840 fiasco. Almost from the beginning it would not clean the dishes. They came out dirtier! Food crusted on, glasses with a dirty grim on the outside, coffee stains still in the cups, silverware greasy. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn the hot water temp up on my hot water heater and Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye.” How does that help my bottom line? The hotter water had impact. I called again. I was told: Use the Pots & Pans setting and thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Still no improvement. I called again, and was told to check the drain . . . Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Notice here they did not record my complaints: no name, address or model number was taken and no record of my complaints was ever taken. Finally—finally—after several more complaints and letters, they send a repair person out from KitchenAid no less. Nope, not our fault. I had to pay $185 for that news. Today, I took out 4 cereal bowls that are still filthily with stuck on grime, a greasy pancake flipper, food stuck to the silverware and on and on. I am appalled that KitchenAid has gotten so bad that the only thing left going for them is what is left of a once good name. I will never purchase another new item from them again, and that means the entire family of appliances. I am appalled.

I have had problems with my KitchenAid gas range right out of the box. I purchased it for $2500 about 4 years ago. Just after the first year, self-igniting elements failed, so I phoned customer service - the worst customer service I have ever experienced! In short, a $500 repair bill to have a tech repair the problem. I have been using a lighter ever since! The convention oven worked 50% of the time. After one year, I finally have to go buy a new oven after only 4 years because the pilot failed to ignite the gas oven - very dangerous part to fail. I will never buy another KitchenAid product as long as I live. KichenAid Brand is owned by Whirlpool, and I will purchase any product Whirlpool sells. Finally, after two months, one technician said he had just returned from KitchenAid training session where he learned that there was a defective part that broke down while self cleaning. He replaced part with warning that I should be careful about self cleaning in the future. Over next 7 years we had technician came five times for various problems. Last week my daughter inadvertently activated self cleaning - first time since 2007. The entire unit shut down again and KitchenAid wants $400 for repair. I argued that it is a defective part. Most unbelievable experience I have ever had in my life with an appliance (KFGG500EWH2), the other KitchenAid products have been fine? I bought this oven before Thanksgiving on 11-15-17. My wife just noticed now on December 25, 2017 that the top of the oven door and around the controls the white paint is turning Brown?!? I havent hardly used the oven but a half dozen times, a couple of pizzas and the turkey on Thanksgiving. We noticed on day one the stove top was more than just hot to the touch on Thanksgiving...more like untouchable!!! I will check the temperature now to see how hot it is getting. My guess is if it isnt a design defect, there may be some insulation missing in the door and or around the front of the stove top... Im not taking it apart to see why... This is more than disappointing. I will contact the manufacturer and the distributor ABT tomorrow to see what they will do. I have never seen anything like this before, this is the 3rd oven I have owned in my life, and never had this issue. I will post the receipt tomorrow if it lets me append this.

Bought a new side by side with ice maker from Sears in Feb 2012. By July noticed my floor was swollen and wet. Called the tech out. It had a crack in the water valve so it had a slow leak for months. The tech said he never sees these crack. Told me to call Whirlpool. Did, they told me to call Sedgewick which handles the insurance claims. Then Sedgewick told me they couldnt do anything because I didnt have the broke part. How is the average consumer suppose to know to keep it? The tech took it with him. How nice for them. Sedgewick told me to call Whirlpool back. Did, no answer. Had to leave message. Did that twice. Then I went to Sears, said they would look into it. Havent heard a peep. Needless to say have to turn it into my insurance for the 6000.00 damage to the floor you can see, doesnt include the sub floor that might be damaged or the mold that might be under there. This has been a ongoing thing for over a year. Never again will I buy anything Whirlpool or Sears. Customer service is awful. Now 2 of the knobs on the stove I bought at the same time will not turn. No quality built into these products!!

I had an old KitchenAid microwave that Sears could not fix, so they offered a $575 credit replacement for it. I went to Sears and the one they stated was the same one was on sale for total of $484.49, so I ordered it and a week later it was installed. With just the two of us, we barely used it. Three weeks later while doing a baked potato in it on sense position, it caught on fire melting the plastic inside. They came out and stated it wasnt repairable so now they would only give a replacement value of the $484.49, so I had to add money to it just to get another microwave. Only this time I bought a GE. It should be here on Saturday and I hope it lasts longer then the KitchenAid did. Do not buy KitchenAid KHMS 2040, it will catch on fire.

Our $600 KitchenAid microwave failed after less than 2 years. I spoke with customer service about repair, and was told that replacement parts are not made for this item as its a countertop appliance. Was not marketed as such - was sold to me as an installed piece with a matching trim kit. I was told that I would just need to purchase another microwave given that Im out of warranty. Very disappointing to discover that a seldom-used microwave that retails for that much money cannot be counted upon to last for 2 years. Sadder still that KitchenAid is not willing to stand behind their product by at least offering a discount toward the purchase of a replacement product. We purchased a KitchenAid stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and over the stove microwave three years ago. All stainless steel (except for the plastic parts that are colored to look like stainless steel). So far the refrigerator and dishwasher have not been a problem. In the case of the stove, I was very disappointed with the quality of the stove, particularly the drawer below the oven. You cant describe it as anything other than flimsy. I should have checked out the drawer in the showroom model, but who would think to do that. However the microwave Model YKHMS 1850SS2 is the biggest problem. Having read the other reviews I realize that my complaints are shared by many other customers and that they have not been successful in resolving their complaints with KitchenAid. The first problem was with the vent grill. As others have found the plastic grill is so poorly made it cracks and snaps when you tighten the screws to hold it in place. In fact I discovered beyond the warranty period that the grill was damaged on delivery. Within the last month, the door handle, which looks like stainless steel but is in fact plastic literally broke apart under normal use. I was interested to read the reviews and learn that this is not an uncommon problem. I went online to see if I could get a replacement handle. Replacement handles are readily available for most microwaves, including earlier KitchenAid models at around $45. However, KichenAid will not supply a replacement handle for this model. They will gladly supply a new door for $350. This is unacceptable. Based on the many problems reported in the customer reviews it would be stupid of me to invest in a new door and then be faced with some of the other problems consumers have had with a KitchenAid microwave. We will replace it with a new microwave that is not a Whirlpool product. And we will never buy another KitchenAid stove, refrigerator, dishwasher or other Whirlpool appliance.

Call local appliance repair company. Comes out same day! Informs me he is unable to repair issue and advises that it is a recall issue and provides me all recall info. Well, calling Whirlpool customer service was the worst customer service I have ever received. After 2 calls and 2 hours later, finally got an appointment booked for a tech to come repair issue, but was told this repair would be at my expense as Whirlpool disputes the fact that this is a recall, even though I had the service point number quoted to me by a qualified repair technician. Regardless refrigerator needed repair. Was told I would receive call from agent evening before appointment date. No call. Appointment window I was given was 9am-5pm, by 2pm not even a phone call yet. Called CS line again and was advised no tech would be coming out to my home. No sympathy at all from any agent I dealt with, in fact, found them all to be extremely rude!! I have put the following letter in the mail to Whirlpool, owner of KitchenA
I have put the following letter in the mail to Whirlpool, owner of KitchenAid, because my experience over the last year has been so extremely frustrating. The letter summarizes my experiences. Please review the following timeline of events: On 10/28/2011, my husband and I purchased KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDS30IXSS from D&K Appliances in Newtown Square, PA. The dishwasher was installed by D&K on 11/3/2011 and by 3/5/2012, the dishwasher has no power. Then by 3/6/2012, D&K Appliances repaired it by replacing a fuse. On 5/21/2012, the dishwasher had no power. Then on 5/23/2012, D&K Appliances repaired it by replacing the fuse again. On 6/26/2012, the dishwasher had no power. The following day, 6/27/2012, D&K Appliances repaired it by replacing the fuse again and refers us to A&E Factory Service because they can’t figure out why the fuse keeps blowing. On 7/9/2012, A&E Factory Service looked at the dishwasher and tightened the connection to the fuse. They told us that we must run the hot water before we use our dishwasher. Since the dishwasher has a 4-hour delay start feature, this seems ridiculous. On Saturday, 12/15/2012, the dishwasher had no power. On Monday, 12/17/2012, we called Whirlpool Customer Service to request a replacement dishwasher. We had an extremely aggravating conversation with two customer service reps who insisted that the dishwasher needed to be looked at again by a third company, Micro Ovens of Delaware. Your rep set up a repair visit for 12/19/2011, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.On Wednesday, 12/19/2012, I placed a call to Micro Ovens to see if I can get a more exact time that they will be arriving. They informed me that they do not come to my area and that Whirlpool should not have set it up. I then called Whirlpool Customer Service again. Your rep was very kind and apologetic and handled the call very well. However, despite her best efforts, she could find no one to repair my dishwasher before Christmas, 12/27/2012 was the first available. Between 12/15/2012-12/27/2012, I had no working dishwasher. On 12/27/2012, Ace Appliance Service of Delaware Valley spoke to your tech line while they are here. They were informed that there is a “Fuse Kit” that needed to be ordered. This will take about a week to come in. Ace replaced the fuse to get my dishwasher working in the meantime. On 1/3/2013, the dishwasher had no power. I called Ace Appliance to see if the “Fuse Kit” has come in. They advised me that the wrong thing arrived yesterday. They will order the right thing. I asked for the right thing to be overnighted. They advised me that I would have to pay for that because Whirlpool would not. They will not set up a new date for the install of this kit until it comes in, which most likely will be Monday. Throughout this process, I have been appalled at how many times someone has referred to the rules set up by Whirlpool as the reason for not doing what should be done to make this situation right. I need a replacement dishwasher. Any advice you can give as to how you can make this happen would be greatly appreciated.

Model #: KUDS35FXSS3. Purchase Date: 11/26/2011. In the second year of having this dishwasher the motor seized. Also the rack adjusters had to be replaced three times. (This problem is well documented on numerous Internet sites.) On Sunday, August 16, 2015, the dishwasher was approximately one half way through a normal cycle. A very loud buzz was heard and this lasted for a few seconds. Then a pop sound was heard. Upon investigation, the black smoke was pouring out the front of the dishwasher at the top. A very strong electrical burning smell was also present. The electric breaker for the dishwasher was tripped. When the dishwasher was taken apart it was found that the electronic control board (motherboard) had shorted and melted the internal wiring. The dishwasher was deemed unrepairable.

We have had a top-of-the-line KitchenAid dishwasher for over 5 years. This washer gets light use as we eat out a lot and only seasonal residents. The first problem was the failure of the door to stay closed. A repairman came out and we discovered that they use heavy string to attach the door and it broke with a $200 repair. About 6 months later, my wife was pulling out the dish rack and a plastic piece in the track came out. About 2 weeks later, the other sides plastic piece came out and now the entire rack falls down if you pull the rack out too far. Another $210 to fix. None of this should have happened if they used quality dependable parts.

KitchenAid stove - KESA907PSS (ARCHITECTSERIES). Almost burned my house down last night - 10-05-2016. Well one of the knobs got stuck on this stove and had a mind of its own sometimes. I worked on and off. Then last night I was cooking on one stove top and baking at the same time all of a sudden the panel got piping hot and started to smoke. Could not touch the panel and I smelled fire and then I lost power to the stove. I read reviews about this particular model and two people said that it caught on fire and they caught it in time. I threw it away and I will never buy this brand again. I paid 1500 dollars for this slide in glass top stove. I dont know why KitchenAid is not standing behind their products. Why dont they admit there is a problem with the stove and recall it. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher broke down after eight months. They replaced the water pump, which took three weeks. Two months later it broke down again. They replace a circuit board and water pump again, but still did not work. They again replaced the third water pump with no luck. The technician thinks it may be a wiring harness so now we are still without a dishwasher and are waiting for that part. By now I am asking for a new dishwasher from KitchenAid but they insist that my warranty only covers parts replacement and will continue to replace parts until they deem it necessary to replace. Dealing with customer service has been a very unpleasant experience. I have vowed that I will never buy another KitchenAid or Whirlpool or Frigidaire appliances again. We are now looking at replacing the dishwasher at our own cost.

I have had this Electric range KSEG950E for about 2 years and have had major problems with its self-cleaning technology. For starters, it simply doesnt work, even after repeated cycles. Cleaning out the water after the cycle is finished is tiresome. And the side and back panels never come clean. Its nearly impossible to scrub out these areas, as you can only use nonabrasive pads, and the oven is so deep, you cant reach in far enough to clean effectively. Even soil on the reachable areas is a challenge to clean, using only the recommended non-scratch scrubbing sponges and fresh kitchen appliance cleaner (the addition of which is recommended for hard to remove soil).Im not a heavy oven user and have tried to clean oven at the slightest sign of soil build-up. Once more, being 5 7, Id think that reaching around inside the oven to scrub should be easy. But after the lengthy clean-up sessions, I hardly need to go to the gym for exercise! Surfing the net, I see that Im not the only very dissatisfied customer! It may be good publicity to have low-energy cleaning technology. But if it doesnt work well, it cant earn high marks for the company.

Thought Id share my KitchenAid experience. I purchased a refrigerator (KFIS29P), dishwasher (HUDS35FX), range (KGRS206) and microwave (KHMC185) on August 30, 2012. The first time we used the oven, an F30 error code popped up and it shut off. It came back on and would do this intermittently thereafter. I then tried out the new dishwasher and found that it didnt clean any better than the cheap one I replaced. On to the refrigerator, I noticed the seal between the door and icemaker was constantly wet and dripping water next to the ice bucket, freezing it in place. So after my first week with my new appliance set, I had to call service, something I didnt have to do for 15 years prior with my old appliances. One tech couldnt handle the different appliances, so separate appointments were needed for each individual unit. The repairman told me the dishwasher was fine, but unfortunately, the new dishwasher just doesnt clean as well as the older ones. It would have been nice to know this before spending $1,000 for an inferior unit. My friends Bosch dishwasher doesnt seem to have this substandard cleaning issue. Then Im told the refrigerator seal appears okay and it is probably due to the weather? Thats a new one. Not happy with this explanation and the constant need to dry the inside of the refrigerator. Another serviceman came out. He advised the seal was bad and a new icemaker door was needed. At that time, it was also noticed that the ice bucket was starting to rust in the bottom. A replacement was also ordered. The refrigerator issue is still being dealt with, while I even saw the outside stainless near the water/ice dispenser was starting to get a little surface rust. The range is requiring a new sensor and complete electronic panel to get it running properly. The microwave has been the only thing that has worked without issues, though when I bought the set, I was told it was all made in the USA. However, the microwave says Made in China. Maybe thats a good thing. The way Im asked every time I call about getting an extended warranty, its obvious its very much needed with the lacking quality of these appliances. My wife was so happy getting her new stainless appliance set, and I was happy about buying what I thought was a quality name - KitchenAid. We were both let down. So many problems in the first month of ownership, Im definitely concerned for the future. Paying over $5,000 for the set and now being practically forced to purchase an extended warranty to try to get a full life from them is disappointing. Im sorry to say I cant recommend KitchenAid to anyone nor would I likely purchase this brand in the future.

When cleaning up a small spill in my KitchenAid side by side I removed the glass shelf over the vegetable crisper and placed in my sink. Picking up a paper towel I wet it with tap water and started to wipe off the spill when the glass exploded in little small shards that shot across my kitchen. My dogs were sitting beneath the sink and got glass in their coat, my shirt had glass on it. I was stunned. It took an hour and a half to completely clean up all of the glass. Very very dangerous. I did not use any warm water.

An unusual problem occurred with my 1999 refrigerator. A screw broke inside one of the back wall brackets that hold the shelves. I called KitchenAid for an authorized factory dealer thinking their experience would know how to resolve the problem. KitchenAid informed me the cost to send someone would be $129 plus parts, and if the tech stated it could not be repaired, they would offer something towards the purchase of a new refrigerator. The tech was not able to get the broken screw out of the bracket. I called KitchenAid in his presence, and they refused to stand by their original statement. The tech called his employer, A&E Service Co. and was told to do the best he could. He claims he inserted another screw near the broken one and put tape across the top and bottom of the bracket to hold it. He said this is a temporary repair that might last 3 months and then I would have to buy a new refrigerator. A&E charged me $166.20. I complained stating that wasnt the quote I received, and the tech was not able to fix the problem. They said they will reimburse me $26. I feel because the refrigerator was not able to be repaired, I should be reimbursed the full amount (A&E Factory Service, 35 Melville Park Rd, Melville, NY 11747, tel.# 800-905-9605). The tech arrived on January 7. I spoke to KitchenAids repair department, customer service, and the sales department stating what I was initially told about partial compensation towards a new refrigerator. Each department refused based on the year of the appliance. This is a very unusual matter. The tech noticed only very light items are placed on the 2 shelves involved. He said he never saw anything like this in all his time as a repair person. He noted it wasnt weight that caused the bracket to separate from the back wall. Am I entitled to a full reimbursement from A&E since they could not fix the refrigerator and I will eventually have to buy a new one? Is KitchenAid responsible in any way?

KitchenAid Refrigerator Model #KSSC42QVS00; part #10219462 - Total frustration! They should be more accommodating to us and all who have filed complained on this site. We purchased our $8,000 refrigerator from Slyman Brothers in St. Louis in 2009. A couple of months ago it started making a hissing sound and finally quit working about 3 weeks ago. We call a certified KitchenAid service agent, very helpful, but found no help via KitchenAid or Whirlpool. He was advised to order a board that we received a few days later. The service technician returned only to find out it did not fix the problem. He was then advised by KitchenAid that it needed another part - part #W10219462. After some investigating, we were told by KitchenAid that that part was no longer available. I checked further and found a generic part that Sears claimed would work. That part was delivered, wrong part once again. We again called Sears and they ordered another part, which we received today, and it too was the wrong part. We were told by the Sears part department that they could not obtain that part. It was no longer made. This is a real problem. Here we are, left with this beautiful refrigerator that doesnt work because they no longer make the replacement part. I am not stopping here!

4 months after I bought my 3000.00 KitchenAid refrigerator. It stop cooling. I also noticed the cheese and butter drawer wouldnt close all the way, I also purchased a extended warranty so I called Sears. They sent out a repair person. He told me he would return when I took everything out of my fridge and freezer, so I did. He returned a couple days later. He looked at it for about 10 minutes and said he had to order some parts. 3 months later he returns after the parts arrived at my house, he shows up opens the doors of the fridge started taking it apart, broke one of my shelving slides in the process then I see him cut a 3 or 4 wire plug off and said, Oh you dont need that, so to remind you the ice block is completely melted by now. He said these Kitchenaid refrigerators all freeze up so when hes done he leaves 2 months later the same problem. I thawed out the ice block again then worked fine for 2 months then again in 2 months the same and thats my life with this garbage Refrigerator! DONT EVER BUY A KITCHENAID REFRIGERATOR! EVER EVER EVER!

Kitchenaid khms2056sss-2 microwave - Microwave keeps beeping for no reason.
Kitchenaid khms2056sss-2 microwave - Microwave keeps beeping for no reason. Often controls are frozen and cannot be accessed for several minutes. Randomly selects cooking task such as reheating pizza or melting butter with no input from owner. Even after the microwave is unplugged for 5 seconds, it still starts up its beeping without input or any reason. Each time the unit is unplugged, the owner resets the time and date as requested by the screen. The light for the microwave does not go on adequately to see what is cooking. Due to the design, the window is so high that it takes steps to see into the oven.

W10476359A - This is the WORST dishwasher we have EVER owned!! Initially many of the dishes had food residue after the cycle so in addition to the usual rinsing we began wiping many of the dishes. However we continue to have some food residue on dishes and cutlery and need to re-wash them. We have purchased other dishwashers in the past that were less expensive but clearly better quality. This dishwasher was included in our new townhouse and although it looks sleek and is relatively quiet, its true purpose which is to clean dishes is atrociously substandard. I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid dishwasher!!
