Dishwasher model kuds30lxblo: After 1-1/2 years, the dishwasher did not complete a wash cycle. Occasionally, it would. I had it repaired and within 6 months, the same thing was happening again. Kitchen Aid will only cover parts but not a service call or labor. I refuse to pay for service on an appliance that should last at least 5 years.

My counter depth KitchenAid refrigerator cant be repaired just 2 years after I bought it new. The power supply board I need is no longer available and Whirlpool couldnt care less. They claim there is a 12-year warranty but the electronic part I need is only warranted for 1 year. Therefore why bother having a 12-year warranty if the part you need cant be purchased. Therefore the effective warranty is only ONE YEAR. This is a $7,000 paperweight now. No one should purchase anything made by this company.

I have a 4 year old Kitchenaid Dishwasher. We spent over $1,000 for it thinking we were investing in a very nice, long lasting machine. After a year, the right clip on the top rack broke and needed to be repaired by a technician. 6 months later the other side broke and we needed another service call. In the last few weeks, all 8 wheels have fallen off the bottom rack. We run the dishwasher about once every three days. I spoke to Kitchenaid customer service this morning via their online chat. The service representative admitted that there were so many complaints about my model that it should have been recalled. She said there was nothing she could do for me. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and their supervisor and they both refused to provide the replacement parts. My model is KUDE 40FXSP3. I will never buy another Kitchenaid product. Even when they know theres an issue, they will not take responsibility for it.

Bought Kitchen Aid mod-kuds35fxssi dishwasher. The control board failed 10 months after bought along with the top rack wheels and the jet spot dispenser leaked. Good thing I bought it from a local appliance store. They are authorized repair for what they sell, very good to deal with. Fixed the 3 issues .100 days later the control board failed again its only covered 90days after a repair so we called Kitchen Aid. They wouldnt do anything so we bought service plan. Meantime the top rack wheels broke. 90 days after bought service plan, we got control board repaired. The rack not covered we paid for rack repair. Now about 16 months after buying the dishwasher 4th set of rack wheels broke. We called Kitchen Aid, argued for some help. A free replacement part only was offered, we accepted. I installed it. Now the bottom wheel on right of the bottom rack falls off. Not what you expect from a Kitchen Aid dishwasher.

This model KUDC2OFVSSO - has been terrible since day one. The only way it gets dishes cleaned, is by washing the dishes prior to putting them into the dishwasher. It functions basically as a sterilizer, not a dishwasher. I would NOT recommend getting a KitchenAid! Im not sure where to go from here, but I wont ever buy another one, as I dont have $500+ to throw away.

I have always owned KitchenAid appliances. We thought they were the very best. I purchased a new stainless steel electric oven. The first time I cleaned it a fuse was blown. The oven has to be removed from the wall to fix it. I then realized that every time I used the self-cleaning it would blow the same fuse. After about 6 times I asked the repair man what could be causing this to blow and he said, I see this all the time so dont use your self-cleaning and it wont happen. Why buy self-cleaning if you cannot use it? So I used it again before Thanksgiving and another repair man from another company came out and had to order the fuse so no oven for Thanksgiving. I told him something must be causing the fuse to blow with the extreme heat cleaning the oven. He told me the same thing the other repairman said, Dont clean it. I have owned a double KitchenAid oven in the past that was wonderful and never had a problem. My other appliances are KitchenAid but after paying all this money for what I thought was one of the best I will never buy KitchenAid again.

This range (Frigidaire Gallery 30 electric range model# CGEF304DK) was included in our new home purchased last year. The range looks nice but the oven racks repeatedly fall down causing the food and pans to spill out! This problem I was told was due to my neglect. Are they kidding? Steel racks are not long enough to stay in contact with the oven sides! The racks are not distorted or bent they just fall down. This could cause serious flesh burns and or a catastrophic fire if unattended for any short time period. KitchenAid totally abandoned their responsibility in this matter. Also the convection fan failed to operate. This upscale range is not older than 3 years, its a disgrace. We put tin cans in to support the racks when using the oven. Pitifully sad. DONT PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS.

We purchased in 2008 all of our kitchen in KitchenAid appliances. The biggest problem is with our microwave. We have replaced the grill cover twice. We replaced this product last in May of 2013. We also put in a new control panel because the panel would not work. That’s when I replaced the cover. Today is June 14, and they put my new panel in. When the technician handed me the grill cover, one of the clips had broken again. I called customer service, and they told me they could not help me because the warranty had expired. I told her this was the second grill I had purchased. They are $113 plus change, and I will have to buy another one.I told her I would like to talk to the President to tell how much trouble this product is, and that they need to fix it. I know $100 dollars to some people is nothing, but to me it’s a lot, especially if you purchase this all the time. My wife wanted KitchenAid because they were supposed to be the best. I dont have that feeling about their product. But you are right, customer service sucks! All I can say is that they better get their act together. It looks like they have no fan base.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (model KUDS530IXBL4) for $730 in 2011. By June of 2014, it had to be repaired 3 times and the 4th time the machine wouldnt start, I decided not to fix it anymore. The control panel was faulty and the 3rd time it broke, KitchenAid paid for the replacement control panel but not the labor. When it broke again just 5 months after it was replaced, I decided not to fix it again and buy a new dishwasher (Bosch) and write this letter. The salesman claims that Kitchen Aid knew the control panel was faulty but didnt change it.

I bought a KitchenAid DW and am very dismayed by the lack of information regarding this bizarre drain line. I have installed several dishwashers before and never had any issues as this. The drain line seems to be long enough if you could unravel it from their mountings on the side of the unit, which apparently are not to be removed? I still have no clue. I had to butt together 2 drain lines with a 3/4 nipple and 2 hose clamps to connect the 2 soft ended hoses together, seems wrong but impossible to get any facts. Some say remove the hose from its bindings, which looks impossible to do safely, or butt connect 2 hoses jury rigging it like some Ethiopian setup, not happy!

I have a KitchenAid stainless steel side by side built in fridge. In August 2015, it started beeping constantly. I had a KitchenAid service person to my home. Immediately, thereafter, my fridge stopped working completely. The service person came to my home again and got the fridge working but it still beeps constantly (24 hours a day). I called KitchenAid last week to follow up on my replacement part and I still have no answer from them. Very poor service for a very expensive product.

We wait over a week to get it replaced and the food all has to be thrown out. Pathetic appliance. In fact, I put it in the garage and purchased another fridge that we can rely on. I purchased an existing house with a KitchenAid Superba stove/cooktop and microwave combo. Everything worked fine for 6 months until I got the crazy idea to use the self-cleaning mode. The oven no longer heats now. I tested the heating elements and they are both fine. I found out that it is most likely the thermal shutdown fuse, a part that runs about $45-$50 online. I can do the replacement myself but as many others have said, I wont use the self-cleaning mode again. For those who cannot afford the cost for a service call, its a pretty easy part to replace - if in fact that is all that went bad during the self-clean. After reading the hundreds of the same complaints out there, I guess I feel lucky that my oven didnt literally explode and possibly hurt my 3 year old. I would be willing to join in a lawsuit, should a lawyer out there be interested.

22.6 ft counter-depth model ksc23c8eyy02 - Weve had this fridge for over a year and after the third service call, should have sent it back as a lemon. We bought a Kitchen Aid because the one we were replacing is a 17-year-old Kitchen Aid SuperBa thats now in our garage, still working. Number of service calls in past year: 3, soon to be 4. We bought a Lowes extended warranty so I have only been dealing with Lowes contract service, not KitchenAid. I have no complaints about KitchenAid service, just the quality of their product.Pros: I gave it an extra star because its so pretty. Cool functionality, easy to keep clean. Stainless surface will hold magnets, too. Cons: Ice maker has only worked twice. Ice freezes into a large block since its on the door. We buy ice and pour it in, but the ice dispenser freezes up and does not dispense at all. Lowes contracted service technicians replaced the ice maker at 5 months after purchase and it worked for about a month before it stopped making ice again. I have not had time to call and take a day off work for yet another service call. Water dispenser doesnt work unless fridge temp is set above 40 F. The technician explained that the engineering is such that the water line is too close to the coils as it passes through the fridge and it freezes. So, the water line freezes and does not work unless you keep the fridge above 40F (and then the milk goes bad before the date during the summer months). The doors are not balanced or smooth in closing and the freezer door has been left a crack open several times because you have to push it to make sure its closed. They have been here to adjust the doors at least twice. I am so very disappointed in this fridge. I have many Kitchen Aid appliances and was always willing to pay extra for the quality, but I didnt get that this time.

A small chip on the edge of the top again cause this huge crack line that encircled the back burner and it fell in. Crummy stove, DONT BUY Kitchenaid - run and buy anything else. KitchenAid was once respected name now it deserves total disrespect. Expensive but no quality here and the heat from the stove turns the oven handle yellow and streaks appear inside the glass window which cannot be cleaned. All in all a horrible product. Now I have to pay for another cooktop on a stove that was VERY EXPENSIVE TO BEGIN WITH.

Update - In my November 5 complaint, I reported ice freezing on the floor of my KitchenAid freezer followed by water on the floor in front of the freezer after the freezer floor depression filled up. In another customer review with the same problem, the culprit turned out to be a duck-billed grommet and it was the same solution to my problem. What mystified me about my problem was that I could find no drain in the bottom of my unit that would have the duck-billed grommet attached to it that was prone to freeze up and stop the draining. It turns out the culprit is not in the bottom of the freezer, but several inches up and behind the back panel of the freezer. Our responding technician was very well versed regarding our problem and had the fridge fixed in about a half hour. This was no job for a reasonably competent homeowner to take on as it required a lot of dismantling, ice-chipping and hot water to fix before a new, improved grommet could be installed, which by itself took about 30 seconds to install from around behind the refrigerator. It seems that maybe more than a few of my model refrigerators were shipped with a defective grommet that has since been upgraded, so maybe complaints such as mine will become a thing of the past. At any rate, our fridge seems to be humming along just fine now. Thank you, KitchenAid telephone person, for setting up a service call that seems to have solved our problem.

We work with many Architects and homeowners that demand quality. When time came to remodel my own home, I wanted to go with the best appliances that we could afford at the time and the ones that offered the most value. Our research led us to KitchenAid appliances. Since the time we installed KitchenAid dishwasher, range, and microwave, all have been replaced except the range. With spending as much money on the range as we did, it was hard to just throw it away. When I mention my concerns and problems at the NAHB shows, the KitchenAid sales reps state that was the old KitchenAid, we did have problems with them, but things have changed since then.My point is if youre selling your product as best value, and a high-end product, you earn that title not just display it. You dont acknowledge that you had a problem then sweep it under the rug. You earn it by standing behind your product. I write this as I decide to throw another $500 at the repair of this stove or throw in the towel. Did I mention that we too had to turn our electric breaker off because the stove top would not turn off, then another time it would come on without turning the knobs. If this had happened to one of our projects, the range would have been removed immediately regardless of price and replaced with a manufactured product that cares for its customers.

Had purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator new in September 2013. On January 3 the refrigerator broke AND WAS LEFT WITH NO REFRIGERATION. Being under warranty KitchenAid sent out their service repair service. On January 8, the service repair came and said they had to order a part. On January 14, service came back, installed part and that was not problem, had to order another another part. January 22 came, installed part, didnt work, said had to order another part. January 29 returned installed another part, still didnt work, said that new part installed was defective, had to order another part. On January 30, I called KitchenAid and stated that I wanted a different repair person and they would not do so because their repair service are qualified technicians. January 31, installed yet another part, didnt work and said it was unserviceable and wouldnt come back and refrigerator had to be replaced. KitchenAid said they would not replace but wanted to get another opinion. February 6, 2nd company came out and wanted to order more parts. In the meantime, we have Four children and have been LEFT WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR for excessive amount of time. Never seen service like this before. Please help because in the middle of all this more than several phone calls transpired and its obvious that no one at KitchenAid could care less that a family is left without a refrigerator.

We started having issues with our KitchenAid dishwasher, KUDS301XBLO, potscrub light staying on just after the one-year warranty was up, but we were able to reset it. Then we noticed the dishes were not getting clean and the potscrub light was staying on. It will not even complete a cycle. We have only had this dishwasher 1 and 1/2 years. I called to ask about the 2- to 5-year warranty that covers all parts of defective equipment and was told I had to pay $129 service call for them to come and look at it, then I would have to pay for parts. I was offered to buy an extended warranty for $259. That seems like a lot for a dishwasher that cost more than $800 a year ago. I have been reading that the control panels have been malfunctioning and starting fires. I am very upset that this higher end dishwasher is less reliable than a $400 one. I have also read that the manufacturer is aware of this problem and has failed to recall this product.

Kitchenaid Microwave/and convection double oven MODEL KEHC309JSS - I have been very happy with this appliance until after years of use I have to replace the 12V 5W light bulb in the ceiling of the microwave oven component. Because it is not accessible from the inside (as the two in over are), it is necessary to pull the entire unit out and disassemble the top third of the sheet metal cabinet. I finally, after researching for a few days and spending 4 hours taking things apart, got to the light bulb only to find that it is not available locally. I have found it online for almost $7 and an equal amount of shipping. There is no reference in the documents from KitchenAid as to how to change a light bulb. It sounds like a joke, doesnt it? Believe me, I am not laughing. Perhaps the engineer who designed this mess should have to change a light bulb before the appliance goes on the market. If I had called a service man to do this, it would have cost near $100 to get this done! If there is a simple way to do this job, I would sure like to know about it for the next time. Believe me, I questioned all the way through the project if I was overlooking something.

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Its not the company that produced my 30-yr-old KA mixer, is it?

KGRS505XSS30 - We are now on our SECOND KitchenAid stove (identical model) because we bought from a very reputable dealer and he had sent his service department out several times and finally just ordered us a new stove. So far, the oven is working okay but the knobs are definitely a safety hazard!!! When I go to clean the back of the stove, the safety knob, yeah right, will turn and flame up. I have burned paper towels, etc.Saturday, my son just reached to pick up a pot holder on the back of the microwave and a few minutes later we all smelled a foul odor. I went into the kitchen and the knob had simply moved enough to turn the gas on, but not the flame!!! Glad we had no smokers in the house. We had to raise windows and use fans to remove the gas fumes. DANGEROUS and should be recalled but after reading the reviews, it is obvious that KitchenAid could care less about safety. I have a aid mixer and am happy with that but will NEVER buy any of their products again.

Tall side by side with brushed stainless finish and separate water and ice dispensers tall enough for glassware. Finish shows fingerprints and other marks, but cleans off ok. Filter cartridge accessed from outside and at bottom vent area. Controls and seals good for this unit and energy consumption seems about right and reasonable. Still has limitations of side by side for storage and standard depth is not as desirable as counter depth.

KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? Every time I decide to replace the unit - I want to try one more time to remedy this problem.

We bought a brand new KitchenAid 29 cu. ft. French Door Architect Series II and it would not work right from day one. The ice maker is a joke and the freezer will not cool... Our ice cream was liquid by morning time. Luckily we didnt put everything in there after we thought something was off about the freezer. WHY in the WORLD would KitchenAid sell such a piece of junk to their customers. I bought this thinking it would be good quality, but all I have is headaches. I hope I can just return this and get something else...SOON!!! I would love to know if there is ever a lawsuit over this fridge because I would sue-thats how bad this fridge is.

A KitchenAid KEBS207BSS01 Double Oven came with a new house we purchased. The first time we self-cleaned the oven, the blue porcelain flaked off the convection cover, exposing bare metal. KitchenAid Customer Service stated this was a cosmetic problem not covered by warranty, since the oven was still functioning properly. I replied that the self clean feature was a function that was obviously not designed to chip off the oven interior, and therefore not functioning properly. They suggested a purchase a blue pen from Amazon that could be used to paint over the chipped interior. Incredibly poor product quality and customer service.

We purchased a very high end Kitchenaid refrigerator. Due to a design flaw
We purchased a very high end Kitchenaid refrigerator. Due to a design flaw (admitted by company as settlement decided upon) we incurred property damage. Due to the Global pandemic parts are hard to come by. Completely understandable. Not the companys fault. Once parts became available the issues with the service department started. We would have to wait online for literally hours at a time in order to speak with someone having to explain our story again and again. No direct number to call. And every time feeling like we were the bad guy. Feeling like we were trying to cheat the system. No one was willing to help us. They would just push us from department to department, manager to manager (never actually speaking with a manager). No one ever making a decision.Ultimately, problem being we live in a small community with limited access to service providers. We live over three hours from a large center. And we’re left on our own to find our own service provider. After we found a service provider Whirlpool would not approve the service provider because it was only one service man. They would only approve a company that had two or more service providers because the refrigerator was too big for one person. When we offered to hire a third-party they refused so we had zero opportunities to have our new refrigerator fixed. After hours and hours on hold and fighting just to get a refrigerator fixed they finally agreed to fix it for the amount that they had originally agreed to and then change their mind but would not send any kind of documentation stating this. So now we have to pay out of pocket hoping that when we submit the paid invoice that they will reimburse us. When asked what the turnaround time for repayment was I was told minimum four weeks. Moral of the story if you live in a small community away from a big service area you will not get your refrigerator fixed without having to pay some out-of-pocket expense. In our experience nothing last forever so if you think you’re going to phone and get warranty you’re wrong so maybe think twice.

After using the self-cleaning mode three times, the lock would no longer disengage. My oven (KEMC378) was still under warranty at the time so the locking device was replaced. Again after using the cleaning mode a few times, the problem reoccurred with the new lock. After about a week of not using my oven or microwave, the lock disengaged on its own. Needless to say, I no longer use the self-cleaning mode. Recently on 10/27/2012, the locking device, on its own, became engaged and will not release. I can no longer cook or microwave - its completely useless. I called KitchenAid on 10/29/2012 to see if my model was part of the recall. Customer service said no and transferred my call to the service dept. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to pick up my call but they never did.

This refrigerator is barely 2 years old. The lights began to fail after the first year and am told are not covered by the original warranty. Service just left and stated how ridiculously expensive the parts. We need a power supply board $387. And he may have to replace some or all of the LEDs at $77 each. This is absolutely ridiculous. It seems to be a common problem with LEDs in a cold environment. We could be looking at a bill of over $1000 for lighting on a $2,500 2 to refrigerator.

I had very similar experience on my 8-year old side-by-side KitchenAid built-in refrigerator (KSSC48QMS01). It started out with loud motor sound once in a while, then I noticed that the control panels numbers were flashing. Power Off/On from the panel, or on the physical switch did not make the flashing go away. This lasted for about a month before it produced chirping sound every 5 seconds. Four days after the chirping sound appeared, my food started to be not cool any more (The freezer side was still okay, and the foods in the drawers were not as warm as the ones on the shelves).Anyway, I ordered the Repair+1 plan from KitchenAid (actually it was Whirlpool), and they sent ASI to come the next day. The engineer from ASI was very good. In less than an hour, he replaced the control board, and I have cold food (and lots of ice from ice maker!) that night. All in all, I only lost two days use of the refrigerator, plus the cost of the plan (~ $400). A new refrigerator would have cost me more than $8,000, plus 3-4 weeks of time when I will have to wait for them to build it. I am very happy about the service I received from ASI (281-452-2121). The engineer arrived promptly, is competent and courteous, and the work was done professionally. He took my broken control board, so he can send it for repair and use it for the next customer.

Very poor cleaning performance. To get clean dishes, you become the person in that commercial who must wash the dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. As my daughter says, this isnt a dishwasher, its a sanitizer. What doesnt come clean? A coffee cup that sat overnight (coffee stains remain), a dish that was rinsed and 90% scrubbed that was put into the dishwasher immediately (before the food dries), knives with even a tad of peanut butter that was not 100% scrubbed off. Salesman told me it was their best seller and could clean the spots off a cat. They tell me that for my dishwasher to perform this badly, it must be a lemon. After nearly an hour on the phone with KitchenAid , I learned that if they send a technician out to check it, Ill owe $120 for the service call if the only problem is that the dishes arent clean. Yup, unless a service code/error comes up, Ill owe for them checking to see why it cleans so poorly. Cleaning dishes does not constitute a functional failure therefore dirty dishes are not covered by the warranty. Another call with a supervisor and theyre finally sending someone out and promised not to charge me as long as the technician can see how the dishes dont come clean (not a problem...since that happens every time).UPDATE: A trusted service technician came out today and ran it through its paces. No error codes. Nothing wrong though he agreed that the dishes that were not cleaned were something that hes experienced too. He said that the machine is as good as it can be and noted that the poor cleaning is probably from the new engineering that uses much less water. He suggested using TOUGH and HI TEMP every time and that it might cut the dirty dishes down to 10% or so. Not exactly a rave review and since its not defective Im stuck with a dishwasher that only sanitizes. The tech told me that any decent dishwasher does NOT require you to wash the dishes first; He said that a good rinse that removes the food particles is enough. He agreed that a dishwasher should actually do much better than the selection of still-dirty dishes on my countertop after the testing. But per KitchenAid, theres nothing wrong with my machine. If youre okay with COMPLETELY washing the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher OR rewashing about 1/4 of the load after doing a thorough rinsing before this machine, then buy it. Its very quiet and pretty. But if you expect a dishwasher to wash dishes well, dont say I didnt warn you. When you pull your dishes out after doing a load in this machine, you will remember this cautionary tale. Ill admit that I usually dismiss one or two bad reviews -- that person must be super picky or to the unit was a rare lemon. Im here to tell you that IF you get a machine like mine, and you go to KitchenAid for support, youll be logging on to write a review that continues my warning to others.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher was purchased about two and a half years ago. The model is KUDS301XSS1 for over $1000 from HH Gregg Appliances. One and a half years into its use, it had a repair for $215 for a $30 fuse. The rest was labor because nothing on the dish washer would operate. The compartments that hold the knives, forks and spoons in place are held up on the sides of the utensil tray by bread twiggies to keep them from constantly falling into the respective sections. If anyone is experiencing this problem, the twiggies have been working now for over a year. The bottom panel which is plastic is held to the metal frame with cheap plastic that breaks. It is now held on by, you guessed it, another bread twiggie. Last week, the roller on the upper rack broke off of the cheap plastic spindle that holds it to more plastic parts on the rack. Now it is engineered by an ingenious screw washer fed by a strong plastic tie through a small washer fed through the opening of the roller and twisted onto the plastic frame on the upper rack. This works as long as one doesnt force the rack open. One should note that the end stops on the rack are made up of more cheap plastic parts that are quite fragile and will probably break in time. The dishwasher does clean dishes and is silent, but the cheapness of all these parts leaves me with one opinion - KitchenAid and Whirlpool do not care about making a good appliance. The KitchenAid was a replacement for two previous Whirlpools that gave decent service. I sold appliances in the past and know that KitchenAid made by Hobart was quite a top of the line dishwasher. My advice now - not worth the purchase price, not worth buying so let buyer beware. Because of this atrocious record, the rest of the new appliances in our kitchen went to Frigidaire. I have read many other complaints from others on the internet about this fuse that keeps going out. My repairman left the instructions for replacement so I can do it myself.

Did you know KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool which includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Kitchen Aid... Pretty much all the heavy hitters from the US fall under the Whirlpool umbrella now. Just keep that in mind as read through all of these disappointing posts about quality, service and general safety. I, like many, replaced my entire kitchen with what I believed was the TOP quality KitchenAid appliances. I bought the KEMS308SSS05 which is a Micro/Convection oven combination. Its failed now 5 times since I purchased new in 2012. I am 4 months outside of the 2 year warranty but the first problems (for which theyve never corrected because it continues to happen) started with the first 90 days.I get sometimes there are lemons at ANY company, we are humans and were not perfect, but a company when realizing their faults need to step up and cure the deficiencies. Purchased new KitchenAid Architect Series French Door Bottom freezer refrigerator KF1S29BBMS02 for new house. This is the top of the line unit and we were extremely happy with the look, features and functionality. After 10 months of use the unit suddenly stopped working. Freezer temperature would barely get below freezing, the top refrigeration unit would not cool below 50 degrees and no ice would be produced. Obviously disappointed, but knew that we were under warranty and the unit would be fixed at no cost to us.Calling into warranty service was not too painful, short wait time and easy phone tree. People manning the warranty service line were all very pleasant and respectful. The issue is the process. The process as I understand it based on conversations with KitchenAid warranty service is that they will exhaust all options to attempt to repair the unit and then and only then will they consider other resolutions. In our situation we are in week five of the process. Four visits to repair unit, none successful and another visit planned in 2 days, which will be the start of week six, and we are still without a working unit. They will not offer a rental unit, but if you push they may offer you some minor value to offset the cost of a rental unit. In our area the shortest rental term was one month and the cost was over $160 per month. When I brought that number to KitchenAid, they would not provide that amount so we have to spend additional money due to their faulty product. When asked how long this may go on, they stated until the KitchenAid Warranty techs decided that the unit could not be repaired. Sounds reasonable, but what it equates to is weeks and weeks of back and forth between the third party service companies and KitchenAid Warranty techs trying different things to fix the unit. With each visit taking 3-5 days to schedule or longer if parts need to be ordered. Sounds like this effort goes on until the KitchenAid Warranty tech has replaced every part possible and there is nothing else to try. Based on current trend...this could take 8-10 weeks for our situation.I understand that process is necessary to protect business interest, but this has been a very frustrating customer experience that has completely thrown me off the KitchenAid brand and any other brand owned by Whirlpool. This is both from the quality and durability of the product standpoint and especially how the company deals with unsatisfied customers. While KitchenAid wont commit to what resolution they will offer if the unit cant be repaired, my preference would be a refund so that I can buy a product that is more reliable. My advice, Bing search how many complaints against whatever model of appliance your are considering and look for models with the lowest number or less significant type complaints. Reading the complaints about the model we bought after the fact, I very much doubt we would have purchased.

How does KitchenAid have an overall 4 star review on this site? All the recent reviews I have read sound SO familiar. All are equally deserving of the 1 star scored. Our experience is no different. We made the mistake of buying based on reputation. KitchenAid had a good reputation (past tense); thats about the sum of it. Very much appears the KitchenAid brand and reputation got flushed down the toilet when they went under the Whirlpool umbrella - both in terms of product quality and customer service. So, here is our story. We furnished our entire kitchen with KitchenAid appliances. Though we have had our appliances about 4 years, the failures started within months. The scratch resistant cook-top easily scratched. KitchenAid wouldnt honor. The bottom handle on the refrigerator has never attached correctly. KitchenAid doesnt seem to care. The dishwasher, however, is the gem! We have had to replace the soap dispenser three (3!) times. We have had to have the entire motor replaced. The wheels on the bottom tray ALL fell off. And, then just this evening, the digital control panel failed. Failure is the operational word here. KitchenAid appliances are a fail. Would NOT recommend to an enemy.

We purchased a Model KSC23C8EYY side-by-side KitchenAid refrigerator in November 2012 for over $2,499. Immediately we noticed that it was loud and often made strange noises. We tried leveling it precisely, but nothing made a difference. Sometime in 2013, we noticed that water had been leaking behind the refrigerator. We called the factory service people recommended by KitchenAid. They came out and replaced tubing at a cost of over $250 and said that it was not covered under the warranty because it had been installed incorrectly. In June 2014 The freezer and refrigerator quit getting cold. We called the same repair people. We had to wait days for a service appointment. They showed up and said they had to order the part. Again, we had to make an appointment and take off work for the next visit. This time, there was a different worker who said that the wrong part had been ordered. Again, we had to make an appointment and wait for days for someone to service our fridge. By this time we had been without a refrigerator for over two weeks and used coolers to try to keep as much of our food fresh as possible. Finally, on July 8, 2014 a repairman came out and fixed the refrigerator. It required a new compressor and recharging the system. I had to miss an entire day of work to wait on the repairman and then be there for the 3-hour repair. Luckily, this was clearly under warranty and the total cost of $654.79 was covered.Less than three months later on September 30, 2014, our refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling again. Unable to miss more work in order to wait for repairmen that may or may not fix the problem, we decided to just go to Home Depot and buy a GE refrigerator. In 55 years the KitchenAid refrigerator was absolutely the worst appliance that I have ever owned! Our money was truly thrown away.

We bought all new KitchenAid stainless steel appliances for our kitchen. Stove had a broken door piece - ok fair enough, we are still waiting on the new part. Fridge specs were given without consideration for the hinges so when it arrived it did not fit - poor. New fridge arrived with door overfilled so that foam was puking out from all the edges. KitchenAid makes the fridges with a greyscale side and the stove with a black side so they dont even match. Called Kitchenaid - the service gentleman arrived and agreed door should be replaced but will take minimum 8 weeks as the doors are made in Mexico. 2/10 would not buy from this company again though I thought they were supposed to be about quality. KitchenAid now owned by Whirlpool, includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana and Inglis.

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

Background: Purchased $6500 of appliances in November of 2010. Refrigerator, Oven/Cooktop combo, Dishwasher, and cabinet mounted Microwave. The only one weve not had issues with is the Microwave. Lets work in the order they are listed: 1> Refrigerator, YEAR 2 >> Freezer door would not properly close. 2 service calls later issue fixed. YEAR 5 >> Out of Warranty. Defroster drain line plugged with ice leaving the interior of the freezer coated in ice and the automatic defroster in operable. Went online, researched the issue and cleared the blockage after two hours of work. Year 6 >> Louder than usual noise when compressor running. Called my Appliance Technician, of thirty Years. Diagnosis issue as one or more bad springs in the compressor, allowing compressor rotor to contact the compressor housing. Contacted KitchenAid, explained the issue. Set up an appointment for the AM, two days later. Next day received phone call from the assigned Appliance Repair service saying they had an appointment scheduled for the PM next day. I explained I was told the appointment was for AM. They said no. They made it for the PM. Okay, right hand doesnt know what the left hands doing. Was also informed there would be a $109.00 service fee for coming out to diagnose the problem. Told them what my Technician had diagnosed. Said they would have to look at it. I asked how much the repair would be if it was compressor. They told me it would be a flat fee and wouldnt be able to quote me an estimate until THEY diagnosed the problem. I asked if the service call fee would be applied to the cost of the labor. They said no, it would be in addition to the labor. Called KitchenAid again. Asked if the parts could be sent to my Appliance Repair Technician? They said no, they could only be sent to a certified Appliance repair shop. KitchenAids definition of a certified shop is one that has a contract with them. Anyway. No other options, called Payless Appliance back and kept the appointment. Technician arrives, listens for the noise, He said the compressor was running and the only noise he could hear was coming from flap/door that allowed Freezer air into the Refrigerator to keep the Refrigerator at the correct temperature. I told him that the noise he was hearing was not the same rattling I would hear when the compressor was running. He said the compressor was running and that was the only noise coming from the unit. During the diagnosis process the Technician opens the Freezer drawer and says its not adjusted properly, and thats most likely whats causing the ice build up in the freezer. He adjusted the drawer. $109.00 later, Freezer drawer is more difficult to open and close and the noise is still there. I inquired if there would be another service call fee when the noise returned. He said, yes, there probably would be since the only thing he could hear was that door/flap noise.Dishwasher: Year 4 > Out Of Warranty. Control Panel starts flashing codes. Called my usual Appliance Tech. He diagnosed the issue as a defective heating coil. Ordered the part and called me when it arrived and was able install it the same. When I ask for a bill, He quoted me the cost and told me to use the Dishwasher for few days to make sure that took care of the issue.Oven: Year 1 >> Under Warranty. Cooking dinner, and the oven starting flashing an over heat error message. Attempted to the oven off, but no controls worked. Checked the trouble shooting section of the owners manual and still nothing worked. Not sure if the oven was still on, I shut off the power at the circuit breaker, waited an hour and turned the power back on. Unknown what the issue was but it has not happened again. Bottom line: $6500.00 worth of Appliances and only one of four has been without issues. Will never purchase another KitchenAid, Whirlpool or any other Appliance made by that group.

Control lights failure when buttons are pushed - This has happened repeatedly, and is expensive to have out-of-warranty repairs made. Also KitchenAid/Whirlpool uses third party service technicians, which in my case proved to be incompetent and actually broke other parts of my dishwasher. Kitchen Aid refuses to stand by their recommended third party service organization (whom they have since fired) and allows them to sell the customer (me) an extended warranty which both the since-fired service organization (A&E Factory Service) and KitchenAid refuse to honor.

Then the oven will not heat. The problem is the failure of the Oven Overheat Thermal Fuse. Why does the fuse fail but the cleaning cycle completes its job? Most importantly, where is the RECALL? We bought a whole suite of KitchenAid large appliances (from Fergusons) for our new home build. We have been very satisfied with the performance of all - UNTIL the dishwasher tore up. It was still under the factory warranty. We called the issue in and there was a local company (American Appliance) that arrived 3 weeks later to repair. They discovered that the heating element of the dishwasher was broken and needed to be replaced. They ordered the part. They said it should arrive in 7-10 business days. After that amount of time, I called to be told that it was on backorder. They didnt have any clue of when the part would be back in stock. Therefore, we started reaching out to KitchenAid directly. We have spent over 6+ hours trying to reach KitchenAid and to speak to their technical department, parts department, warranty group, and finally complaint group. We have been told multiple things - there was a recall on the part (cant confirm that one), the part was out of stock and would not be in stock until after December 30 (totally unacceptable), and that the part was finally now in stock. We were told on July 8 that the part would go out to us on a truck the next day. Apparently that didnt happen. We have been on the phone with KitchenAid complaints again today for over 1.5 hours (more time) to be told that the part has been ordered but has not been pulled and shipped yet and that it would take another 2-3 weeks for that to happen. We made the choice to buy Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) appliances for our new house because they are American made and felt that they would stand behind their products. We are so dissapointed in how this has been handled. We are going to be without our dishwasher for at least 2+ months (and we are a family of 6 people). Our disappointment comes from both the quality of the part but even more importantly the way we have been treated and the repair handled once it tore up. I would not recommend them today. I would be cautious because if you have issues it is not an easy road to travel! Our warranty has not been very effective up to this point.

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances when we built our house in May 2010, after being told that they were top-of-the-line. Regarding our refrigerator (model KBFS25EVMS2) with French doors and freezer on the bottom thats been in the house for about 8 months, we noticed that the right side of its doors was not sealing properly. When I contacted the store about this, I was told that this is a typical problem with the French-door models. Should this not be disclosed upfront?! When I contacted KA about this, I was told that my refrigerator was out of warranty (date of purchase, not date installed) and they refused to help in any way.My problem with all this is my old refrigerator (Maytag) had it for 23 years, and I never replaced a door gasket or worked on it in any way. I dont know a door gasket should go bad in less than a year. Now being two years, it is crumbling and falling apart when you open the door. If you buy from KA or an approved service company, the seal is $199. I purchased one on the internet for $99 and replaced it myself. Buyer, beware! KA does not care about the customer, just the dollar! I will never purchase another KA brand or Whirlpool brand ever again, and I will make sure all my friends know about it too.

Its now January of 2021, still no dishwasher and KitchenAid said they dont know when parts will be available! I should have spent the extra money and bought the Miele like I had previously. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with KitchenAids failure to stand by their product. I purchased a $3000 stainless steel fridge last year and my fridge is still under warranty, but because the rust is cosmetic, KitchenAid feels no obligation to stand by their expensive stainless steel product and Ive been told that it is rust resistant, but not rust proof. They say all stainless steel can rust in certain environments. I have only used soap and water and never used a stainless steel cleaner or corrosive or abrasive product on the fridge and it is in my newly built and dry house. It is under a year old and I wonder what itll look like in another year. Kitchenaid offered me the opportunity to extend my warranty for hundreds of dollars, but offered no repair or replacement of the rusting door panel I called them about. What kind of stainless steel exists? Low-quality stainless steel with impurities. My stainless steel Bosch range hasnt started rusting and I clean it constantly with various cleaners. Clearly KitchenAids product is inferior and low quality.

I have on three occasions spent over 30 minutes on hold. I still have hope that someone will eventually be able to help me with this repair but my experience so far is extremely bad or non-existent. Unfortunately, I am joining a long list of customers who purchased the Kitchen Aid Superba microwave oven/oven built-in combination. After less than 5 years, the bottom oven door locks, without warning or just cause. KitchenAid is aware of this manufacturer defect, but chooses to ignore it, and refuse to resolve this issue. Turning off the circuit breaker should reset the computer, but dont count on it. The other solution you may be given is to turn on the self clean feature, cancel it after 2-3 minutes, and hopefully it will unlock. I am appalled that managers like Kia (ID 8592), has no concern for customers. Kia basically stated that after one year, warranties expire, it becomes the customers problem. The licensed technicians are stumped to fix the problem, but wont tell you until they collect a service call fee. What is even more outrageous is the model and serial number are inside the oven, but when the door is locked, you cannot not see the number. It is a no-brainer to relocate the model and serial number, so it is accessible when the oven locks up, because it will. The bottomline is, a class action lawsuit needs to be filed, and a national recall needs to go into effect. Please send me an email if you want to be included in this lawsuit. Send facts with your complete information to **. This is an obvious manufacturer defect which is a hazard. The oven light will not turn off, and the oven door locks for no apparent reason. I am writing to the president Mark Bitzer and the CEO Jeff Fettig about the issues that should be a concern to them. Others experiencing this problem should write to them at ** Benson, MI 49022.

I have a french door refrigerator (Model KBFS22ECMS00 purchase date 1/27/15) and gas range (Model KGRS202BSS-1 purchase date 1/19/15) that have issues. I called 2 weeks before Thanksgiving about the freezer not maintaining temperature (set at -6 degrees, maintaining 6-15 degrees) at time of call. Several days BEFORE Thanksgiving, the refrigerator started doing the same thing (set as low as possible, maintaining 45+ degrees). On the day of Thanksgiving, my oven refused to maintain set temperature. It would get to temperature then the igniter failed to ignite the gas and maintain the set temperature. No smell of gas in the house.November 30 when service techs arrived, it was discovered my condenser leaked all the oil out and the compressor had locked up. They had to order parts. Had a service date of 12/16 to repair the refrigerator and troubleshoot the issue with the oven. Was called the day before by Video Tech Services (the servicing company) to cancel my service appointment because one of the refrigerator parts was on backorder. Called KitchenAid/Whirlpool early last week and lo and behold, THEY had the part that was on backorder so I have no idea where the service company is getting their parts from. Parts were sent to the service company 2 day shipping so they SHOULD have received it last Friday (12/18)... At the latest.I called KitchenAid/Whirlpool again on the Tuesday (12/22) since I had not received a scheduling call from the service company. Interestingly enough, the servicing company received the backordered part on SATURDAY (12/19) but had since FAILED to call for a service appointment. Now mind you, this is going into a SECOND MAJOR HOLIDAY without appliances. The service company finally called 30-45 minutes AFTER my call to the manufacturer. I am now scheduled for a repair on January 15 because I refused to take another day off from work (11/30) to accommodate them. I had taken the day off on 12/16 as well. Both appliances 10 months old (actually the refrigerator was 9 months old (delivery date of 2/22)) before failing and 60+ days before repair? Through two MAJOR holidays???

The stove started by making HORRIBLE noise. When I would call kitchen aid they said it was normal. My husband was able to fix it. The fan was hitting on something. Then the refrigerator stopped cooling and making ice. We had a service call and were told it was totally iced up. We had to defrost the refrigerator for 4 days, and keep putting towels to sop up the water coming out of the bottom. Now 3 months later the same thing has happened, no ice and not cooling. Also the dishwasher stopped closing, the rack had pieces that had broken. We spent about $75 in parts. Never had these problems with Samsung. I cant believe after spending over $6,000 on 3 appliances that they lasted 2 years. DONT BUY KITCHENAID.

Latest KitchenAid KDTM354 dishwasher (June 2015 delivery) repeatedly (though not every time) leaks through the bottom of the door after about an hour into the wash cycle. Warranty service technicians so far made every excuse imaginable for us using wrong soap, wrong quantity of soap, machine can make occasional splash?! but practically fixed noting and problem remains. We tried their remedies but to no avail. KitchenAid indicated they only replace the dishwasher in proven non-repairable cases but refuse to specify how many tries to fix the problem are needed to qualify for that. In the end, it may prove cheaper to buy another dishwasher than to skip work another 4-5 times that will likely take KitchenAid to fix or replace this unit. Unfortunately, I also have a KitchenAid refrigerator that so far I had to spend over $600 in the last 3 years for repairs.Do I need to keep on wasting $500.00 every 6 months with further service calls and parts? Why would KitchenAid make disposable appliances? They will need to disclose to consumer at the time of the purchase that appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid are disposable, and every year we need to replace them with a brand new unit.
