Our KitchenAid Refrigerator was delivered in April 2012 along with 3 other KitchenAid appliances as part of a renovation. In August 2015 the fridge stopped cooling both the fridge and freezer to the proper temperatures. We are now 1 year later having had 7 visits by the authorized repair company and 3 calls to the KitchenAid expert tech line. It still doesnt work and they refuse to declare it non-repairable. Worst appliance experience of my life.

I have had this stove for 5 years. It is stainless steel but the top griddle area has all rusted! Also, when I used the self clean program it fried the entire control panel which was expensive to replace even under warranty as they did not cover the service charge and it took 2 months to receive the part. I had a repeat of this problem again, so the panel needed to be replaced. I now have to steam clean my oven which does not work effectively! Also, measuring the oven temperature is NEVER close to the temperature on the display panel. I would never buy another KitchenAid stove again. The fan is very loud as well. I use my microwave as my oven instead of using this stove. Expensive and poor quality!

KitchenAid Dishwasher Model #KUDS40CVSS4 - After owning this dishwasher for 22 months the therma fuse has been replaced four times. Should I have it replaced for a fifth time or purchase a new dishwasher? On 5/27/2011, I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears. On 5/31/2011, my dishwasher was not functioning. I called KitchenAid who scheduled a service call with Quaker City Service (215-355-4400). A service man replaced the therma fuse in the unit. On 10/12/2011, my dishwasher was not functioning. I called Quaker City Service and they replaced the therma fuse. On 9/19/2012, my dishwasher is not functioning. I called Quaker City Service. They indicated it was the therma fuse and would like to replace the circuit board as well. The repairman indicated the dishwasher could be a fire hazard. On 10/25/2012, the dishwasher was fixed with this special part. On 3/21/2013, the dishwasher overheated during the drying cycle and is no longer working.

Bought KRFF507ESS01 French Door Bottom Freezer. Has continued cooling issues since product was 6 month old. Now we are in the extended warranty and its worse than you can imagine. I have been 4 weeks with use of product waiting on parts. KitchenAid does not care, AIG does not care. I would caution anyone interested in their product, and service. STAY AWAY FROM KitchenAid at all cost.

Just had our 2 day old oven door shatter. We replaced a 1982 wall oven this week with a KitchenAid wall oven, model KOSE507ESS. It was installed yesterday. Tonight was the first time using the oven. I was preheating it to 400 degrees when I heard a loud pop and then glass was flying out of the bottom. The inside glass window shattered and glass is everywhere. I will be calling our appliance store first thing tomorrow morning. At the moment, no other damage has occurred to anything else other than the oven. I just want it fixed.

I have owned the KitchenAid refrigerator since 2000 and have not had a day's worth of trouble with it. The refrigerator section is on top, and the freezer, with 2 pull-out shelves is on the bottom. Items stored in either section are easily accessible. The refrigerator has no water maker or any other fancy do-dad, but does have an ice maker located in the freezer. When it has to be replaced, I will definitely look for another KitchenAid refrigerator.

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

I bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher less than two years ago and have been extremely unhappy with it! Model #KDTE334DSSO. My 17 year old dishwasher cleaned the dishes better than this one. I used to use environmentally friendly dishwasher soap but had to go to a heavy strength brand now. The plates fall down in the dishwasher (I recommend taking plates and trying them before you purchase any dishwasher) and now I have all of these little rust looking spots all over the front - which naturally is not covered under the extended warranty!! Terrible appliance!!!

As 32 others here have described, my KHMS155LSS-4 KitchenAid microwave turns on in PAN mode randomly after only 1 year of use. I left the door open to prevent it from recurring, but it beeps insistently. I ended up unplugging it. I called KitchenAid and they said it’s a known issue and will dispatch a no cost repairman. Having read the list of complaints here, I think I will start shopping for its replacement anyway. It sounds like this was a very bad model for KitchenAid. We also had the dishwasher door spring break just like others had described.

Purchased a $7000 Kitchen Aid refrigerator 6 years ago (KSSO48FTX02) at the suggestion of the salesman at JC Perreault in Montreal. Thankfully our $25,000 purchase of appliances did not include any other Kitchen Aid products as my recent problem has been nothing short of a customer service nightmare. Our refrigerator, which other than a constant noise problem, had been relatively reliable. Last month, a constant beeping sound and on/off of a motor was observed. In addition the control panel lights were constantly flashing whenever the door was opened. For 3 days - getting through the 800 number was impossible - so I was forced to call an outside tech. Upon hearing of the problem he informed me that there was a 90% chance the motherboard was fried. I told him to come over anyhow and in 5 minutes of pressing buttons he confirmed it - AND that the replacement part was DISCONTINUED by Kitchen Aid because of the Tsunami in Japan 5 years ago! The only fix would be a black market repair and it would cost me $2000, and it might not even work! When I finally got through to customer service at KA, they confirmed that the part was no longer being made and they suggested I check out Ebay or Amazon for replacements! The nightmare continues as I try to decide whether or not to cut my losses and buy a new fridge - and remodel my kitchen in the process since this one was built-in. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT MADE BY KITCHEN AID, or Whirlpool or Jenn-air.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, model # KUDC10IXWH4 on August 1, 2013. I have been having difficulty with the machine for the last 6 months. My dishes were coming out dirtier than when I put them into the machine. The machine was not using the soap, it just piled at the bottom. I tried powder soap, liquid soap, and pod soaps with no help. Finally my husband made it so he could watch the washing process. The spray was only going up about 4 inches - not hitting my dishes. No wonder I have problems. We are trying to put in a new motor at $100.00. I have only had this machine for 2 years and I already have to make costly repairs. Very disappointing!!

My brand new Kitchen Aid KBLS22KWMS arrived yesterday. Its a bottom freezer, single top door model. The bottom deli drawer kept sticking every time I opened it, so I took the drawers out, to try to find the problem. Thats when I saw that the molded plastic, on which rests the shelf supports on the deli and crisper doors, was very thin, and could be pushed in with just normal pressure from my finger. One of the supports was dented in already. Crisper drawers and the deli drawer are held by plastic frames, with no metal at all. Only the top shelves have full metal support. All the plastic is really shoddy workmanship. I have no faith that this fridge will last even a year, much less 5. Its going back to Lowes tomorrow. I had thought that Kitchen Aid was supposed to be a higher end appliance from Whirlpool. Now I will not buy another Whirlpool owned product.

Kitchenaid Model KDFE104DSS0 - I have before me FOUR repair records on a machine less than one year old. I bought it in January, and by June, the motor had burnt out. In October, yet again, another new motor needed. It still didnt work, did not even get the dishes wet. The company repairman from Platinum Factory Service came back again, ten days later, and replaced a board and wire assembly. Still didnt work; same problem as the one he came over twice now to fix, and both times left me with a machine that didnt work. Lowes, where I bought it, sent over their own repairman. It needed a new motor! After six weeks with a machine I couldnt use, it was finally fixed. Its been working okay now for almost two months.

I purchased in Feb. 2013 a new 27 convection double ovens Model kebs279bss00. Upper oven is very loud, exhaust fan constantly on, and it runs during preheat, cooking and cool down. Lower oven is much quieter. Cool down for a typical 350 oven is 30 minutes of this loud fan. Then it started a vibration noise. Both the convection and the exhaust fans have been replaced. Fan noise is still unacceptable. You cannot carry conversation over dinner! I attempted to contact Kitchen Aid to discuss further and waited on hold for 15 minutes. It was like waiting in outer space as there was no music. I even called back and had the same dead time. Im very unhappy with the product and with customer service accessibility.

After 2 months of trying to get it fixed and trying to fix it myself, I decided to replace it with an even more expensive Sub-Zero model. Two years ago, we brought 5 items from KitchenAid. Basically, we spent over $10,000.00 and we have nothing but breakdowns. I did not extend our warranty as this would cost us over $800 a year plus I thought. Why buy a warranty as I should be buying quality? Well I was WRONG. First, the Refrigerator had problems, but they were able to fix that (in the first year). Second, the range kept clicking. That took two service trips (first year). Third, cannot remember actually but we had a problem with the double oven. Fourth, the refrigerator was leaking and ruin by built in cupboard as we did not realize the problem straight away (second year), pay just over $200 and had to put one of those metal door plates over the bottom of the cupboard as it was soak so had to cut the bottom off.Fifth and last I hope, press self clean on oven and you guessed it, burnt out the oven. Cost of repair nearly $900. When I spoke to customer service, they told me basically, Tough luck. You should have brought the extended warranty. I am finding out that this is a problem with Whirlpool self clean ovens. But my argument is that this feature does not work so I should not be held responsible for this. Customer Service answer was YOU SHOULD have BROUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. So beware. If you are thinking that buying KitchenAid is Quality, THINK AGAIN. Will never buy or endorse KitchenAid again unless they step up to the plate and recognize their mistakes. Really, why buy quality if they can only support it with 1 year warranty (thats a red flag)? Because every major kitchen appliance from any brand gives you 1 year warranty. Thank you for reading this. Now you know the pitfalls.

We have a KitchenAid Double Wall Oven purchased at Sears in 2001. Just now, fully out of the ten year warranty. Its model no. YKEBSDB3 and serial no. YK210XXXX.This unit has been nothing but trouble since we got it and we are at the point of replacing it. In Canada, this unit sells for over $3500.00. I never even thought to check consumer reports before we bought because I knew (ha!) that KitchenAid appliances were the top of the line, had an excellent reputation, and felt so lucky that I could financially buy such an excellent set of ovens for the first time in my life. Boy was I ever wrong.I wont go through the litany of issues we have had but they are similar to the rest of the complaints and issues stated previously. We had a Warranty with Sears which has now run out. I have to say the serviceman who does the warranty work for Sears was wonderful and I have no issues with him but, he also disclosed problems with several similar ovens. One easy fix: we have had issues with the door hinges/springs deteriorating and the doors not fully closing, hence the oven not warming. A quick fix is to buy two approximately 1 diameter rare earth magnets and place them on the sides of the door about 3 down from the top so as not to affect the electronic panel. They will keep your door tightly closed.I too, would join in any class action suit against KitchenAid/Whirlpool and will continue to badmouth the company at every opportunity until they had the decency to admit publicly that there are problems with these ovens and offer to repair them free of charge. Thanks for the platform to speak up.

I have purchased two KitchenAid gas ranges (yes, I should have learned my lesson the first time!). Both have been seriously problematic. Within a year of purchase, both locked up when I cleaned them for the first time, and I could not use them without a tech coming to my house to repair. One of those ranges had a faulty fan which did damage to another part due to overheating during the cleaning process, which resulted in damage to other parts! Most recently, the electronic range control on my Architect II went on my three-year-old gas range. So back to the repair techs. I will never purchase another KitchenAid stove. Based upon my experience and that of others, they are simply poorly manufactured and not reputable. Repair costs are ridiculous and I am thinking of replacing mine due to the high repair costs and lack of faith in this happening once again, at a time when I really need to use the stove!

Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased
Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased new KitchenAid Proline KUDE40SPX3 to match our Wolf/Sub-Zero equipment. After several months, we noticed our cabinetry adjacent to the dishwasher was starting to warp and peel paint. We initially believed that the cabinetry was defective. Then one evening, our little 3-year-old screamed in horror from the kitchen. She had a burn on her face and said the dishwasher did it. We then noticed the steam coming from the side vent of the unit. The louvers are positioned so that the steam under pressure is directed downward. However, since the vent is adjacent to the kitchen cabinetry, the steam not only hits the cabinetry but is directed in front of the dishwasher. Most dishwashers have the vent at the top of front door lip, which directs the steam up and away from the front of the dishwasher. I notified KitchenAid Customer Service. Their first response was that the unit was 1 month out of warranty and they referred me back to Pacific Sales where I purchased an extended warranty. Pacific Sales extended warranty department stated that the defect was a manufacturer defect and not an electrical or mechanical defect and directed me back to KitchenAid. KitchenAid then agreed to send a service rep out and would cover any parts and/or labor to repair the defect, including any venting kit. They also said that the manual has a disclosure about the side venting; however, I pointed out there is no such disclosure and no special instructions with regards to steam being emitted out the side/front and being a potential hazard to children and surrounding cabinetry. KitchenAids factory repair rep came and observed the defect and notated such back to KitchenAid. Then, KitcheAaid took the position that it was not responsible since it was no longer within the 12-month warranty period.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher three months ago. We have had at least two previous dishwashers which were fine. This model KDFE104HPS O leaves water on the dishes and the door. We had two repairmen look at it. The most recent said there seems to be no problem even though the dishes do not dry. He stated that 1) The stainless steel models seem to have that problem; 2) We need to get the water hot before starting the dishwasher so it does not lose the first cycle heating the water; 3) We should use a special rinse agent to aid the drying and 4) We should use the extra dry cycle. In addition, there is an odor that smells like a wet blanket and I think I have even smelled mold. I have owned five dishwashers over the years and have never had this problem. The solutions provided by the repairman actually will cost us more money to run the machine. The only good feature is how quiet it runs.

Our sales rep indicates maybe even later since the manufacturer reps come and go and KitchenAid changes its mind on deliveries. I called them and asked if we could pay a little more and pick them up IN STOCK at Best Buy and still get our $600 rebate. They refused. They are making us wait for an unreliable delivery date. They misrepresented the purchase. I saw the manufactures computer screen that said they would deliver. We purchased all new kitchen appliances last September, 2017. Bought KitchenAid mainly because my dishwasher just died after 27 years, so we were pleased with its quality. We bought the items in black stainless. The electric stove top is the hardest top I have ever cleaned, I am a little ocd and hate smear marks on my stove top, and also it seems that the only thing to use to get burnt on spots or food off, is an SOS pad, referred to me by the owner of the appliance store. Also the so called Aqua lift for cleaning the oven, even after doing it twice in a row, is a joke! Still had to go in and clean up the grease and burnt on stuff, and then soak up all the water!! Also when turning on the oven, it seems to take forever to heat up to your desired temperature. Very disappointed, and will never buy KitchenAid again!!!

While building a new home we selected KitchenAid for several of the appliances. The freezer in this refrigerator failed after less than 2 years. The factory approved service company was called and on the first visit they determined it to be a evaporator fan. Of course they did not have the part. So it was replaced on visit number 2. It failed again after about 1 month and visit number 3 was scheduled. This time it was determined to be a controller board. Again, the tech did not have the part so visit number 4 is scheduled. So far it has cost me almost $600 and 4 days of waiting for the tech to show up. Not good for a $3,000 + appliance.

I purchased two of the same KitchenAid Dishwashers (KDTE204) in September of 2015. The first one began leaking in March 2019 and was repaired by the repair company that KitchenAid referred me to. This $405 repair bill. In November 2019, the second dishwasher began leaking. In between the time I placed the service call for the second dishwasher and the repair man coming, the first dishwasher began leaking again. When the repair man came out, he indicated that the repair would be $435 for each dishwasher. The price of repairing the first dishwasher twice would be $840 and the price of repairing the second is $405.When I called customer service at KitchenAid they said we cannot control when a product fails and offered me $185 toward parts for repairing the first dishwasher again. I spent an hour on the phone and spoke with three different customer service people. None of whom seemed to think a dishwasher should last longer than a year. So if you plan to throw out your dishwasher every few years, then by all means get a KitchenAid but if you want one that will last, you should definitely look elsewhere.

Dishwasher Model #KUDE40FXSS5 - We purchased KitchenAid appliances about a yr ago. Within the first 6 months we needed the oven broiler replaced. Now unfortunately the dishwasher after 16 months has leaked causing damage to our house. Upon inspection a clamp let loose from the drain motor. I called and email KitchenAid. They informed me certain criteria must be met for a recall. I have read complaints from other consumers with the same issue. Not sure what the criteria is for a recall, but I guarantee I will not be purchasing another KitchenAid product.

We purchased 6 years ago and have had non-stop issues with it. It stops working after about 10 min., then you have to push a few buttons and then it works for about 10 more min. until it stops again, and then finally you have to start the whole cycle over and then it will complete. Its like washing dishes twice! It takes about 2-3 hours for a complete cycle. Also there is a smell that is terrible and after trying dishwashing cleaners, it still smells. Finally, every few months Ive had to take the whole thing apart to clean out the filter area to try to rid the smell. Ive never had so much trouble with a dishwasher!!!! This was a top of the line and expensive model too. :(

Do not, I repeat, do not but a KitchenAid dishwasher... unless you expect to pay thousands of dollars to own it. I have model # KUD5301xbtr bought in 2011. Within 4 months, I had 4 service calls to replace a fuse. At that time, KitchenAid told me I was trying to get a new dishwasher. Gee, told them I had a new dishwasher - just wanted it to work. Finally it was fixed. I use the term fixed loosely. It quit again in early 2013, they would only offer me a new maintenance contract. But the company that does the maintenance contract were total jerks. Let me explain, what I called them about they recorded in their records to make it sound like one thing to their advantage. The long and short of this - the poor dishwasher will be taking space up in a local landfill. I have had my fill. I bought the dishwasher for $700+, and then add all the service agreements; it has become a $1,000 dishwasher that does not work. And KitchenAid will not admit there is a problem. DONT BUY A KITCHENAID!!!

I remodeled my kitchen in 2013. I thought KitchenAid was a higher end brand so I purchased all my appliances in the stainless steel finish. Within a year the dishwasher door was starting to delaminate and showing dulling spots. In addition the stove top was also starting to show signs of dulling spots and continued to grow in size. I would NOT recommend any KitchenAid appliances. The customer service with KitchenAid is not helpful at all and basically blamed me, the consumer for the problem. After spending over $5000.00 on KitchenAid appliances I expected better quality and customer service.

After using the Kitchenaid Smart Oven Plus powered attachments I found the following flaws: 1)Steamer attachment - Steam will escape and cause the oven to shut down. The only way to reset it is to let the steam completely out and turn off your circuit breaker. Kitchenaid did not design the control panel to be steam proof so you cant use this attachment without issues. They do have the ability to do this but wont respond. 2) Grill - You cannot set the attachment beyond a certain temperature so you cant grill like you can on an outside BBQ. 3) Baking Stone - It is difficult to clean if anything gets stuck on it. Again, your temperature for this attachment is limited so you cant bake a good pizza.4) The temperature is lower than indicated, especially in the lower part of the oven. When the oven reports the temperature to be ready, you need to wait an additional 15 minutes for this to take place. Calibration is a joke.

Kitchen-Aid model KUDE70FXSS4 - This dishwasher has a problem with the top rack that keeps rolling out when trying to load dishes into the bottom rack. I’m unable to adjust the level to allow the top drawer to stay in place because the rear of the washer has wheels and they have no height adjusters, and you cannot raise the front using the adjusters provided because it is as high as it can go, as the counter top will not allow further height adjustment.I noticed a part on the top drawer that connects to the water system for the top rack rotating spray wand had protruding plastic fingers that fit into female slots in the back of the washer. The fingers did not have any detents that would hold the rack in place. I added a detent to each finger, and now when you push the rack in, it locks it in place. They must have forgotten to include this in their design. If they would have provided adjusters on the back wheels, we could have lowered the back and the top rack would have stayed in position by gravity. However, I think the added detents to the fingers is a better solution as this locks the rack in place and gravity allows the rack to stay out when loading dishes. I hope this helps anyone else that has this same problem.

My Husband and I bought this stove 2 years ago for our rental unit, we never had any complaints from our tenants. But in January we moved in to the property and since then my mind has not been at peace. I have for little girls and we have had episodes were they pass by the stove and happen to bump into the stove and it will turn on the gas. I myself have leaned over the stove to get something and it will turn on, the sad part is we wont notice until we smell the gas. I tried buying some knob covers online but they did not fit due to an extra ring on each knob. So I called KitchenAid and explained the situation. I was expecting a solution, instead they sent some service guys who were very honest and said they couldnt do anything about it and that the company probably had no solution for this either. They recommended searching online for a piece that could cover all the knobs! Really? So if my house happens to blow up in the middle of the night its okay, or if my 3 year old turns on the stove and gets burnt then what? They need to recall these stoves or fix the knobs to be safer and harder to turn on.

Our stainless steel, French door, KitchenAid refrigerator is a year old. The ice cube maker stopped working, so we had to have a service person come out. The diagnosis is that the ice maker broke, due to ice build-up. The part is under warranty, but the first service charge is $189.00 and they have to come again after the part is ordered. Model #: KUDS35FXSS3. Purchase Date: 11/26/2011. In the second year of having this dishwasher the motor seized. Also the rack adjusters had to be replaced three times. (This problem is well documented on numerous Internet sites.) On Sunday, August 16, 2015, the dishwasher was approximately one half way through a normal cycle. A very loud buzz was heard and this lasted for a few seconds. Then a pop sound was heard. Upon investigation, the black smoke was pouring out the front of the dishwasher at the top. A very strong electrical burning smell was also present. The electric breaker for the dishwasher was tripped. When the dishwasher was taken apart it was found that the electronic control board (motherboard) had shorted and melted the internal wiring. The dishwasher was deemed unrepairable.

We have a 6-year-old Kitchen Aid (subsidiary of Whirlpool) built-in refrigerator. It is now longer able to maintain the appropriate temperatures, and the problem has been diagnosed by the Kitchen Aid authorized repair service as a defective control board. Unfortunately, Kitchen Aid (and Whirlpool) made or obtained these control boards from a factory in Japan that was destroyed by the Tsunami (this was over two years ago). Rather than sourcing this part from somewhere else, Kitchen Aid has decided to tell its customers that they are on their own. The only possibility seems to be to remove the control board and ship it to a company (Core Centric) in Illinois to have it refurbished. If the part gets lost, or damaged, or is unable to be refurbished, you are just out of luck. I assume this is the same situation for other parts in Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool appliances, as I assume the factory in Japan made more than just one part. This is outrageous conduct on the part of Kitchen Aid - I thought there was a Federal requirement that parts be available for items manufactured and sold for at least 7 years. The tsunami was unfortunate, but surely two years is long enough for Kitchen Aid to have found a way to obtain repair parts for its appliances. This sounds like a great opportunity for a class action lawsuit against Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool. There must be lots of customers that have been harmed by their action, or inaction. In our case, we will end up spending hundreds of dollars sending the control board out to be refurbished, and probably going for an extended period without a refrigerator (cant work with no control board). If the control board cant be repaired (for whatever reason), we will have to purchase a replacement built-in refrigerator, and have our kitchen cabinets redone so the new refrigerator will fit - estimated cost of that would be $10,000 or more.

Model # KSRD25F Door Bin Holder: Today, I contacted KitchenAid in regards to my refrigerator door cracking from the bin holder and around the outside of the door. This is the part that is made to hold gallons of milk and jars that are glass. I spoke to **, the supervisor, after I was told that the bins are covered for lifetime, but the holder that they sit in would not be covered. I read the label on the inside of the door and I quote, KitchenAid is dedicated to providing quality engineered appliances that offer lasting value.” But thats just the beginning. “Our lifetime warranty on door bins is synonymous with long-lasting, worry free performance. This is what is right inside the door where you place the bins. I was told that I could purchase a new door by Ms. **. I asked how much the door would be as this could cause one of our children to get hurt. She came back to say the door is no longer available to purchase and that my only option at this point would be to purchase a new refrigerator. My refrigerator, at this point, is not long lasting and not giving me that worry free performance that they apply to the door. The bins were supposed to be designed to hold a gallon of milk, jars and two liter bottles. They lifetime warranty the bins that you put the items in, but not the holder that holds them in your refrigerator. If these fall from the refrigerator, they have the potential to severely injure the person retrieving the items from this refrigerator.

After a thunderstorm and lightning storm our power went off. When the power came back on we had no control board lights - none. Oven not working. Called repair man - waited 2 days for new power board and replaced it. Same thing - no control board. Now he says he needs to change the control panel boards because he gets no power out from the power board he changed out that supplies power to the control panel on top. Well about $200 for a board he changed and they want another $400 for the control panel if we decide to order it. Those prices are w/out labor costs. Min $85 just for call out. Even if I replace this part that is no guarantee that the oven will work again. I could spend as much money as it cost me originally to buy it. It was not cheap for the Kitchen-Aide Superb gas range when I bought it. I can remember when people would replace ovens/ranges just because they wanted a newer bigger one. Not that anything was wrong with the one they had, they just wanted to replace something that had already given over 25 years of service and was given to someone else just starting out in life. Where is the quality of workmanship that used to be in the things that we build and buy? It seems like today the young people have been brainwashed into thinking that when something breaks it is to be thrown away and replaced. I guess the manufacturers have succeeded in instilling a real throw away society in our youth. It dont work, throw it away because it will cost you more to fix it than its worth. Rule of thumb should be if something is going to cost you about 50% of what it originally cost to buy it --- then throw it away. They dont make anything like they use to.

Repair man came 8-14-15, said I was using too much soap, told me to put soap in prewash cup only. Same day I called KitchenAid, Ester told me to put 1 dishwashing tablet in the main wash cup only, use a rinsing agent, run my dishwasher thru a clean cycle monthly (where is the clean cycle?) & do not prewash my dishes. Ester told me all about her mother owning the same dishwasher only a SS. I told Ester we have had dishwashers for many years & I have already tried all the troubleshooting that was required many times. I told her I wanted to exchange the dishwasher, this was not an option. She told me if I requested another service call, I would have to pay for it. I believe KitchenAid wants to stall you so your warranty will run out then say sorry.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher W10321621D has to be located just below the busiest food prep/washing counter. After starting, it appears if theres the slightest bump against the washer, it will shut off - all lights go out. It wont even hold the point where it needs to resume. We have to put in more soap and restart the process. Sometimes we dont realize what has happened until the next day. A younger family member will open the dishwasher. Ill start unloading and then realize the contents are still not clean, figured out what happened, and then try to figure out what has to go back in! Very aggravating. It could have something to do with the exposed touchpad on the front, even though we have been so cognizant not to touch while running. We now have to put a chair in front of the dishwasher every time it runs to make sure no one goes within 2 feet of it. Hard to work around.

Yes, indeed they do have about the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They completely fail to acknowledge the very frequent problem that their ovens fail after using the self-clean. I paid for high-end KitchenAid appliances because of the reputation of quality and service, and Ive experienced nothing but the opposite; in 2 years, my refrigerator needed a cooling element replaced, my oven glass exploded across my kitchen (thank goodness my children were not standing there!), a heating element in my convection microwave needed to be replaced, and most recently a door switch in the microwave needed replacing because it was causing it to not operate. This last repair, I was out of the 2-year warranty by one month, and they are refusing to cover the $142 cost of the repair. They dont stand by their products. In 2 years, for the thousands of dollars we paid, nothing should go wrong with any appliances, let alone these many occurrences. And to not cover a repair being 1 month past warranty, especially with all of the other problems Ive had, even just to save face, is ridiculous for such a large company.

Ive had more issues with this dishwasher due to its design flaws than any other appliance Ive owned.Design Fault #1: Attach for wheels for the upper rack are weak and regularly break with normal use. Ive had this happen 3 times so far and no amount of gentle use or babying will keep these from breaking over time. The design flaw is the thinness of the plastic used to hold these on. If you dont want to replace these, you can sacrifice some ease of mobility and use a wire twisty tie to reattach the wheel to the rack. It makes it harder to pull in or out, but at least its attached.Design Fault #2: Upon my wife complaining that it wasnt cleaning well, I found that the chopper had broken off from the shaft. No idea why, Ive seen others say that it is a design flaw and that over time it hits the housing enough to break the plastic. I cant say why it broke as I saw nothing in the housing that would have caused it to break off.Customer Service Issue: My wife called them and they told her only the rack itself is covered by the warranty and not the attached components. I called them and asked them if a hypothetical customer were to buy the dishwasher and it came without the upper dish rack, whether they would simply send the rack bare without any of the supporting components. She sheepishly told me they would and I told her that was ridiculous and I needed to talk to a supervisor. Upon returning after a hold she told me shed send me the parts under a one-time goodwill gesture from the company. So I had them send me 3x of the wheels and 1x of the chopper for the parts that had broken to-date. Ill hold these in reserve for when these items break again. Its simply ridiculous that they dont either fix the design flaw or cover the part as part of the warranty. I think they have to be aware of the design flaw otherwise they wouldnt explicitly refuse to cover it when you call.

I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old. Its a lemon made by KitchenAid. I purchased the refrigerator KFIS29BBMS00 in brand new condition from a Texas appliance retailer in North Richland Hills in September of 2012. All was well until six months later, in March of 2013, the refrigerator stopped keeping the non-freezer items cool and ice was forming around the ice maker in the upper refrigerator, and also inside the door of the freezer. They, KitchenAid, dispatched an appliance technician for diagnostics. Lets start the count off for personal days of vacation stolen by these guys. (1 day) Evaporator fan ordered, and installed 10 days later mid April. (2 days) Load noise and additional ice build up 1 week later, service call scheduled. Same repair guy, different day. Parts ordered to replace faulty fan. (3 days) Two weeks later, installed firmware upgraded circuit board. (4 days vacation) In late June, the ice maker stopped working, service scheduled mid July with new service company and technician. (5 days vacation) Of course, parts ordered again... This time, the technician had them shipped to my house.About 12 days later, we received a parts shipment. We called KitchenAid when we received the parts package, asking when the service company was supposed to be back. They contacted them and they were out the next day. (6 days of vacation) Unfortunately, there were two additional parts being shipped and the repair could not be completed. Should not someone have known this dependency when we called? Fast forward an additional two weeks, now we are in early August and we called the service company again since all the parts are in. They cant come out until Sept 3, and in the meantime the refrigerator is making a very loud annoying noise. So, we called KitchenAid to report it and let them know we could not have the appliance serviced with the previous work order since the service provider stated they were only authorized to repair the ice maker. KitchenAid dispatched a third appliance repair company, who was scheduled by KitchenAid for 8/26, then no call no show. They said they did not receive a work order from KitchenAid, but assured me they could make it tomorrow, 8/26. (7 days vacation lost) The third repair company came out today, 8/27, and said they cant repair the refrigerator until the other company completes their work order. (8 days of vacation) Remember now, I still have another appointment scheduled for 9/3/2013, so count on another vacation day, totaling 9 for now and counting.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDC20CVSS4 in September 2010 to match all my other KitchenAid SS appliances. It will not totally rinse off top rack dishes and glasses of food residue, and as a result, food particles harden on them so bad that I must soak them in the sink to get them cleaned. I had repairmen out periodically since November 2010 to fix the problem. I have been told to run hot water before starting dishwasher, scrape/rinse dishes thoroughly before washing, switch to liquid Cascade from powder or tablets because H20 doesnt get hot enough to dissolve it, and to run dishwasher with 1/2 to 1 cup white vinegar on occasion. Nothing has worked. The bottom line is that we bought an $800.00 lemon with no recourse. Oh yeah, I was also told that new dishwashers are all made the same since the government enforced new Energy Use standards. I think its baloney being sold to me in order not to buy a new dishwasher (which we are considering). KitchenAid knows about the problems with this unit since it is now discontinued and replaced! Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator/dishwasher and stove Sept 2010 at Lowes. There was nothing wrong with my appliances. They all worked at the time I was redoing my kitchen and but wanted all new appliances. I chose KitchenAid because I thought they were one of the top of the line products. Wow was I so wrong. I have had problems with my refrigerator, started about a year after having it. I would empty my ice bucket and could not get the door to close properly. Had them out here 3 times never got it resolved. So now I just slam it as hard as I can and it closes nice. Well now it is leaking underneath on my hardwood floors so whats that mean? My hardwood floors is now ruined. I made my first phone call on Wednesday Aug 17 2016 and spoke to a supervisor Ben to tell me to buy the warranty and he will have someone out here on Monday.Well thats not acceptable now he gets someone to come out on Friday 8-12 so my husband waits and no one shows up. I am at work and I am fortunate that I am able to make phone calls. I literally was on the phone for two hours trying to get this resolved to get nowhere except Im sorry. I appreciate the Im sorry but what are you doing about it? Nothing. They blame the service that is supposed to come out and the service blames it on KitchenAid. I tell KitchenAid I will never buy another KitchenAid product again and all they say is, Im sorry you feel this way. Really, dont you want to keep your customers? Bottom line - dont buy KitchenAid. They dont stand behind their products.

I purchased a KitchenAid built-in dishwasher last fall and if it wasnt so difficult to take out I would not have kept it. Not only was it costly, the top tray does not stay in and you have to hold it while filling the bottom tray. The two trays are so close together that you cannot use the utensils box to hold a knife or spatula or a large spoon. Even plates and cutting boards will stop the sprayer from rotating. Truly the worst purchase I have made in years.

I paid over 800 for this KitchenAid dishwasher - it was on sale and rated very high on Consumer Reports. I expected it to last longer than the 2 1/2 years I got out of it! It took me over a month to get someone out to look at it and they said it would be 350 for the part and another 200+ to put it in, he recommended we get a new dishwasher and not a KitchenAid. Very disappointed!

Had to buy this refrigerator to fit into an existing built in space. The size fit perfectly. Only positive to our experience. DO NOT BUY this refrigerator for the following reasons: Installed in Jan 2016 and already had to replace icemaker, slides on bottom drawer dont work, seals on top french doors moldy, temperature not regulated in refrigerator, and freezer section froze up. Labor costs to repair is very high: quoted $340 to replace freezer drawer slides and around $100.00 each time someone comes out to check. Mold started accumulating on refrigerator seals. Noticed some small rust spots on the freezer door (exterior) that I could not remove. We do not overload either freezer or refrigerator and we vacuum out coils regularly. My next review will be on my Kitchenaid double ovens - very disappointed with these as well!!!

4 years ago when we built our new home, we bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher - retailed at $1800. The big attraction was how quiet it was supposed to be - and it is. However, in the past 8 months the control panel has gone out THREE times! At $150 for the part, and another $150 for service call and labor to replace it, it has reached the point of absurdity. The cycle times are also erratic. Sometimes it will take 4 hours! to go through a normal wash cycle, and others maybe 2. It has seemed to clean well, and it is quiet. But... the ridiculous lack of dependability makes KitchenAid no longer a desirable product.

I purchased a KitchenAid induction double oven range, model KSIB900ESS1 through my home builder, who installed it in July 2017. We moved into the home August 1. It worked correctly until October, although the induction burners make a lot of noise. In October the ovens quit working. We called KitchenAid, who sent an appliance repairman out in two days. A week later we hear nothing from the appliance guy. After several calls, I found out that the part that needed replaced did not exist. Confused, I called KitchenAid again and asked for another repairman. This one came out, found the problem, and located a replacement board within a week. I preheated the top oven two hours after he left and both of the ovens quit again. It is now a week later (tomorrow will be a month without an oven) and we are no further along in getting this fixed. Added to that: today I received a large box on my doorstep from KitchenAid (which I did not order) that I think might contain pots and pans that I dont need. Im afraid to open it because I dont want them saying I accepted pots and pans in lieu of a workable oven. What the heck is going on with this company?? Two days til Thanksgiving but we wont be able to cook anything in the oven this year. Thank goodness the range still works or wed be eating microwaved everything.

I contacted KitchenAid customer support during January 2012. I had bought a KitchenAid Microwave KHHC2090SWH in February 2011. It had suddenly decided out of the blue to stop working. I had contacted a repair technician and they agreed to pay for his visit. It is now March 14, and after 4 visits, the technician has been unable to fix the problem. He has now removed it from my home and even though I have had to contend with the absence of a microwave for almost 2 months, left me nothing to use in the meantime and no promise that it will be fixed only the confirmation that the company will almost never replace a defective product.I am so sorry that I decided on a KitchenAid and I will certainly let everyone and sundry know about my problems with the KitchenAid Microwave. I am at a loss as to what to do next. It seems like I am just trying to fly against the wind.

When I was a kid my mom loved KitchenAid but we bought a Bosch because the style we wanted. After it failed miserably I said we will purchase a KitchenAid. We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher in 2014. We Paid for installation also. With it we bought A warranty. After just over two years, the top rack of the dishwasher failed. The top rack will not slide out and weve found metal ball bearings in the dishwasher that we assume are from the side rails. So frustrating... This is standard use and it is crap. When I called to get it repaired I was told that this type of repair is not covered by the extended warranty and the estimate was 2/3rds. The cost of the dishwasher. I was talking to my mom and she told me Son they will take care of it... They didnt and I told her It is not the brand it used to be. The top rack finally completely broke and now we have a bottom rack only. We are so over it and so sad.

EVERY replaceable part that is not considered part of the inner compartment has been replaced. Our last technician, in writing, wrote that there was nothing else that could be done except replace the entire refrigerator and that ours was a lemon. In a nutshell, the same part on my fridge (the thermistor assembly) has broken down 5 times since I bought it (roughly every three months) causing the fridge to simultaneously ice over yet not keep the food cold. I have a warranty on it, and per CAs Lemon Law, they should have replaced the fridge by now. But every time I call, they keep coming up with reasons why that it doesnt qualify for a Lemon replacement. (This latest time was that the latest repair had the same claim number because it was technically within 90 days of the last time a technician came out. By this logic, they could give me the same claim number till the end of time and never replace the fridge).I can afford a new fridge, but at this point its a matter of principle. I have wasted thousands of dollars in food, not to mention days of my life dealing with this issue -- and have become convinced (based on my research of other consumer complaints) that this is an issue KitchenAid is aware of and that they have knowingly foisted a faulty product & loophole-ridden warranty onto their consumers and EXPECT us to give up when they give us the run-around. I have researched lawsuits against KitchenAid and their warranty company and have been contacted by lawyers who are interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. If you are interested in getting more information/participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid, please email me.

We purchased all new appliances for our new house about 2 years ago. After almost a year this refrigerator went downhill fast. Out of nowhere, the ice machine quit working. Then we went to the refrigerator one day and all of our food in the freezer and refrigerator had gone bad because at some point it just quit cooling. We got a KitchenAid service tech out to fix it. Turns out it was some sort of sensor that went out. The ice machine never worked like it originally did. Now, this hunk of junk is acting up again. The water/ice is not working, the control panel is not responding, and the interior lights will not come on. I wish I had gone with a different brand. I hate to replace this refrigerator because it matches all the appliances in our kitchen. This refrigerator was way too expensive to be having this many problems.

During the course of the next two and a half months, a new compressor was installed. The fridge began to cool again, but no ice was being made. A new ice maker was ordered, but Whirlpool initially refused to provide it at no charge. Eventually, the company relented and a new ice maker was installed on July 16. Within days of installation of the ice maker, there was still no ice being made. After more phone calls, we were offered a voucher for a new refrigerator of any kind or a new KitchenAid fridge identical to the one we had. We agreed to a new KitchenAid refrigerator be delivered. BIG MISTAKE!After no delivery or delivery notice for three weeks, on August 17, 2020, a call was made to the appliance store to determine the delivery status of our new replacement refrigerator and we were told to call back on September 16 —perhaps by then a there would be an answer to our question of ‘when?’ Presently, there is no known delivery date; not even a known month of possible delivery. Throughout the past three months, and who knows how much longer, the appliance store has continued to do its best; however, KitchenAid/Whirlpool has failed all ‘reasonable standards’ of good corporate consumer service. The repairman even said that the refrigerator we bought was a piece of junk because he has like 5 calls a week for the same one. Long story short, we waited for another part, the part came in and the repairman said he wasnt qualified to put it in so we had to call KitchenAid for one of their people. One of their people came and took our refrigerator. They said it would take a week to fix. Well 3 weeks later and I still dont have a refrigerator! SO FRUSTRATED!!! Well for the send time our expensive KitchenAid Built-in Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer Failed. It is almost 10 years old. The refrigerator repairmen from Judd and Black Electric arrived about 12:00 and fussed around with our fridge for an hour. In my opinion they didnt have a clue really and ** thought they were rude. Period. They said that Core Centric could rebuild the control board but they didnt offer to take it out or send it in to Core Centric. The entire afternoon I researched the issue and learned that there are several companies that will rebuild the control board for about $100, found a YouTube Video on how to remove it and learned the serial number (W10219463-119) of the offending part. I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. I bought my side-by-side fridge at Sears as part of a suite of new KitchenAid appliances. I had the kitchen in my 100-year-old house completely remodeled last summer, and the new KitchenAid refrig, dishwasher and range hood were the centerpieces. The refrigerator just fit under a new custom-made wooden cabinet (designed around it) and beside a custom-made cabinet with granite countertop. Price for the refrig: $2, 266; price for the kitchen remodeling: @ $30,000. I started getting letters from KitchenAid right after buying the products about buying an extended warranty. I figured that $2,000 refrigerator was likely to work for a good long time. (Of course, this was a very naive view of present-day appliance quality.)The new refrigerator was installed by my contractor on Aug 15, 2012 and was a problem right from the start. The icemaker didnt work when we first plugged it in, and a service call from Sears was necessary to get it working initially. In early June 2013, both freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. By the time we realized the problem, the food in our freezer had thawed out, so we each ate three pork chops and a lot of melting ice cream and called Sears for a repairman. We couldnt schedule a repair appointment with Sears A&E Appliance Repair Service (another horror story) for a whole week, so we brought two camping coolers up to the kitchen, put the food we really needed to keep - milk, eggs, butter, etc. - in them and started making a daily trip to the store to buy $4 or so worth of ice.I took a day off from work to meet the A&E repairman. (A&E schedules their appointments in four-hour windows - 8:00 am to12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 5:00.) The repairman finally arrived, took the whole refrigerator apart and said it needed a new evaporator. He said the part would be delivered to our house by UPS in about a week. So we continued buying ice, emptying the coolers, and eating out a lot. The part finally came and we got calls from A&E asking us to call them and verify that the parts had been delivered. When I called, I was put on hold and then finally spoke with someone whose English was so heavily-accented I really couldnt understand her. After loudly repeating, The part is here! The part is here! over and over, I hung up, hoped the repairman would show up, and arranged for another half-day wait.A new repairman wed never seen came the second time, opened the parts box, and commented that the evaporator was all banged up. I took a look and it was obvious that a number of the flanges or fins or whatever were bent. He tried to bend them back into shape and said, Theyll be fine. It wont make any difference. I left then, but my husband was there with the repairman. When I returned a couple of hours later, my husband told me the repairman said the wrong parts had been delivered. He had ordered new parts and they would be delivered in about a week. We scheduled another repair visit. That was when we got sick from eating the food in our cooler. The whole situation was making me really angry and depressed, so I called Sears Customer Service (another nightmare) and the woman I spoke with recommended that I use dry ice in my coolers, which would have required that I drive across town to pick it up. Before the next repair visit, we were asked to make another verification call, which I made. Around 8:30 the night before the visit, A&E called and another English language-learner told me that the parts had not been delivered and the repairman wouldnt be coming. I had already arranged to miss work the next day and two boxes from UPS were sitting in my hall. I started calling anyone I could get in touch with to tell them to send the repairman, that the parts were there.I guess I convinced someone because the first repairman showed up the next afternoon at 1:00. He opened the boxes, said the essential parts were there and again, took the refrigerator apart. He installed the new evaporator, but said he couldnt get the pressure right. He spent a lot of time on his cell phone talking with another repairman who was advising him. Finally, he said, Ive done everything I can. It may cool off by tomorrow, but if it doesnt, call A&E and tell them to send Bob **, the person he had called for advice. The next morning, the refrigerator wasnt cool at all. I called A&E and asked that they send Bob out. I was told he was out sick but would come the next day. The next morning, they called back and said he was still sick. I called A&E back, got another ELL on the phone and asked to speak with his manager so I could understand the speaker. I was transferred to another number that rang for five full minutes. No one ever answered the phone. Since then, I have learned that no one ever answers that number. By this time, my entire life centered around the refrigerator. Sympathetic friends were inviting us over for dinner and showing up with casseroles. Of course, if we didnt eat the whole dish, we had to throw the rest away because we were afraid of the food in the cooler. After another few hours on the phone, I contacted someone at Sears who arranged to have a loaner refrigerator delivered to my house. Again, I arranged for a delivery. Now I had a new, broken KitchenAid refrigerator in my kitchen and a small, dented GE in my dining room. I moved my milk into the loaner and bought some ice trays.I continued my calling and got a secret number from someone at Sears that enabled me to speak with a Blue Ribbon service person at Sears (talk about oxymorons) who sounded like hed had a LOT of Xanax. The Sears employee who gave me the number said, Dont tell them where you got the number. Is this a number available only to movie stars and Columbian drug cartel bosses? After hearing a condensed version of the whole awful story, the Blue Ribbon man I spoke with said Sears would replace the refrigerator with one of equal or lesser value. I reminded him that the price had probably gone up over the past year and that I had bought the original fridge on sale. This seemed to throw him for a loop. He said he had to get some more information and hed call me back in a couple of days.I called the Blue Ribbon number again this morning and asked how my refrig had been rated by other owners because I wasnt sure I wanted another fridge just like the first one if it was going to be the same piece of junk I got last summer. (Product ratings and customer reviews werent available to me online because the appliance was a special order.) But the guy at the secret number had reviews. There were only five reviews and four had given the fridge a one--out of a possible five--points. The reviewers had reported problems that sounded like mine. I then called KitchenAid and they informed me that the only KitchenAid refrigerator that will fit into my custom-built kitchen is the same one-rated model that I now own. So much for the carefully planned kitchen with the matching appliances. If Im lucky, Sears will have something that will fit in the spot built for the other fridge.

My two year KitchenAid refrigerator developed rust spot on the bottom freez
My two year KitchenAid refrigerator developed rust spot on the bottom freezer door. The company wont give any support because its over a year old. The highest I got is a supervisor who thought giving me a brand new one for $1189 was a good offer. I paid $1600 for it. Sure is nice to sell me a refrigerator every two years! What makes them think I would ever buy another KitchenAid product? Very disappointing! My whole kitchen, when done in the 80s, was KitchenAid. After Hurricane Sandy hit and it had to be redone, I went with KitchenAid again! I was loyal to them but obviously not reciprocated!

Purchased this expensive gas oven less than 3 years ago. Three of the five
Purchased this expensive gas oven less than 3 years ago. Three of the five burners now have frozen valves and do not work. The middle burner went first, then the right front and now the left back burner. Very disappointed. Would not recommend this range to anyone for purchase.

My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KD
My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KDFE304SS0 dishwasher back into place. Problem was traced to the right hand upper rack trucks bearing retainer failing, releasing multiple bits of plastic and several small stainless bearings into the interior of the dishwasher. Closer inspection indicates that the manufacturer chose to use a nylon (PA6?) carrier which is degraded by moisture and heat eventually causing the carrier to break down. Why they chose that material when so much of the other components are POM which would have held up is beyond me. This will be a problem for others for sure if they use the heated dry. An additional worry is that not all bearings could not be recovered so there may be additional issues due to small metal bits traveling through the rest of the system. The unit was purchased from Sears July 17, 2015 so entirely too soon for such a failure. Clearly a poor choice in materials.
