Installed this oven last month. Have used 4 times. First time for a Pyrex oven dish. Bottom oven set on 350 for baking brownies. Sitting in den and my husband and I hear a noise like metal racks falling. We go into kitchen and Pyrex baking dish has shattered inside oven. What a mess. I now read all the problems with Kitchen Aid ovens and Im scared of this oven. Loved the blue enamel interior, but now Im scared of this appliance. We will see. Thanksgiving on the horizon and a large meal to be cooked!

Regarding our 42 side by side built-in fridge. After some years it starting making some serious loud noises. Finally the fridge gave out. Repairman said he thought the motherboard had gone. OK, fair enough... just order another motherboard, right? My repairman could not find a motherboard in Canada or in the USA. It had to be order through Kitchenaid... but no problem, right?? The company is American, right??? Not so fast. The initial timeline was 4 weeks (which is bad enough) but in the end IT WAS 4 MONTHS!!! During this time I called Kitchenaid more than once to find out where my motherboard was. They could not, or would not give me a straight answer as to any timeline to expect it. My thinking was that it was somewhere in China being created. Thank God we had another fridge in the garage but I have learned my lesson. NEVER, NEVER never will I purchase another Whirlpool product ever again!!! You would think when you pay $10,000 for a fridge a better repair experience would follow. Clearly Whirlpool doesnt give a crap. STEER CLEAR, PEOPLE!!!

Bought our top of the line panel ready dishwasher 5 years ago, We have had 5 computer boards replaced and replaced the racks 2 times. Now the day before Thanks Giving the repairman says it is not fixable. Kitchenaid want $741.73 dollars from Us to replace it and the new one won’t be available for at least a month. This machine is a piece of crap! It started failing in the first year. DONT BUY KITCHENAID, they Do Not stand behind their products. So Frustrated! It has ruined the finish on our cabinets to the left of the dishwasher and buckled our floors in front. They can take their offer and Shove It!

I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with Kit
I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with KitchenAid. In 2003 I purchased a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. No calls ever to the customer service for any problems. They lasted 14 years. Thats why I went with them again. BIG BIG MISTAKE. This refrigerator Model#KRMF706ESS has been a problem since I plugged it in. I have missed almost two weeks of work waiting for technicians. I have had many service calls for the same issue and Im still not sure if its resolved. The last technician came out last week and within days my refrigerator is broken again. We started seeing puddles on the floor. The ice was melting in the container. We emptied container and now it doesnt make ice. I called KitchenAid, nothing they can do, when is enough, enough with these people. There was nothing wrong with the money I gave them for the refrigerator. I purchased a new appliance and its been nothing but a pain. They have replaced the same part three times. It still wont fix the problem. I am beyond frustrated. If I could give negative stars I would. When I contact the customer service department its like I am bothering them and wasting their time. They are wasting mine. Customer Service is a thing of the past with their rude customer service people and they dont care now that they have my money. It wasnt working right from the start and it continues to be a problem. I have lost faith in my refrigerator. I dont know if I could go on holidays and leave this appliance on. I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with this refrigerator. The service guy said that they have had nothing but problems with this model. They didnt test it long enough. I guess whoever buys it is a guinea pig. I would never ever ever recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid again. This is the absolute worst service. Since Day 1 it hasnt worked properly. They tell me in order for it to be replaced it has to not be cooling. A technician has to report to them that it is unrepairable and then after he does that, they send it to their engineers and then they see if they can come up with a solution. They could care less how many days of work I miss. They are waiting for my warranty to expire so they can take me to the cleaners for the continued work I know will have to be done once it is out of warranty. Thats the day they are waiting for... class action... thats the day I am waiting for. I know its only $5000.00 but it has cost me more than that now with all the time off work. What happened to the days where companies actually cared about the customer??? I was told the first time I bought the KitchenAid back in 2003 was when it was KitchenAid KitchenAid, now it is KitchenAid Whirlpool and now it sucks!!!!

My wife and I built a new house and moved in 8/2003. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances. We had to replace the ice maker twice on our 2003 refrigerator. The 2003 range top stove control panel does not work properly. The 2003 microwave completely stopped working at the end of 2011. The front door cracked in 2008 since it hits a screw at the underside. Our 2006 professional, heavy duty mixer broke in July 2012, my wife uses it about 15-20 times a year. How pathetic. They should be ashamed of the quality of all their appliance products.

I purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer in 2012 for my cottage from a local dealer. Over the last year Ice has built up in the freezer floor and then there is water leakage. I would get rid of the ice build up and then no leakage for a short time and then it would start all over again. In the meantime the floor and side wall of the kitchen which housed the fridge became damaged. I called the dealer and they tried to give some things to do which did not work. Eventually we got the dealer out and they came with a new valve and installed a P trap drain tube. Apparently Whirlpool have known of this problem and never let any of their consumers know.As we are on an Island it cost us a lot of money to get a repairman out to replace this piece. I called Whirlpool and they did not want to discuss it and dissuade they could have sent me a replacement but would not pay for the cost of the work to replace the valve even though they knew for years that there was a problem with this part. I will never again get anything made by Whirlpool.

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances for our new house two and a half years ago. I thought by spending twice as much on American made products I would be all set for quite some time. The stove started by making HORRIBLE noise. When I would call kitchen aid they said it was normal. My husband was able to fix it. The fan was hitting on something. Then the refrigerator stopped cooling and making ice. We had a service call and were told it was totally iced up. We had to defrost the refrigerator for 4 days, and keep putting towels to sop up the water coming out of the bottom. Now 3 months later the same thing has happened, no ice and not cooling. Also the dishwasher stopped closing, the rack had pieces that had broken. We spent about $75 in parts. Never had these problems with Samsung. I cant believe after spending over $6,000 on 3 appliances that they lasted 2 years. DONT BUY KITCHENAID.

We have an 18-month old KitchenAid refrigerator - high end model with the freezer on the bottom. It began to leak water that settled at the bottom of the freezer. After a time, it would freeze so much that it would eventually leak out onto the floor. We looked in the book - no help there. I found your forum and a problem just like ours (same model even). They said it turned out to be a grommet that was too small and that a new style had been developed. So we wrote to KitchenAid about this. They denied that there were any problems. After several conversations with them and a copy of one of your forum notes on this, they finally did agree to at least pay for the part. Well the appliance man came and fixed it. It was indeed the old style grommet. He said it happens all the time. We wrote to them again and asked them about paying the labor (part was about $12 and the labor is $100). No, they would not do this. Apparently, according to the repairman, this refrigerator is not the only one with this problem. This model is also sold by Maytag and some other - maybe Sears? Just slap a different name on them and they all have this problem. So buyer beware. Make sure that they check this out before you bring it home or you too will be paying the price to fix it. We really bought what we thought was a quality product (now that we are retired and didnt want to have to deal with repairs all the time). So much for that! KitchenAid support was of no help at all. If I had to do it over again, I would not buy another KitchenAid product!

I am very disappointed with Kitchenaid. Our dishwasher was purchased and installed 18 months ago. Our use of the dishwasher was very light, maybe using it 2-3 times per week. We were also very careful to remove excess food from the dishes before putting into the machine. After 18 months, the dishes were not getting clean. A repairman came to assess and found that the motor/pump needed replacement. The cost of the visit was 98.79. To repair the machine would be an additional 364.00 plus taxes. It is ridiculous that Kitchenaid is producing such poor quality appliances which are essentially disposable landfill objects and will not take responsibility. Their warranties (very limited) are only good for 1 year from purchase.

This product is an expensive piece of junk. I would not recommend it and beware before buying. Two years ago, I purchased a 24 KitchenAid electric wall oven (Superba) which never worked properly from the beginning. I thought I didnt read the recipe correctly! It never thoroughly baked/roasted in the center and now, the outside of the cake is baked but the inside is raw. Same with roasting meats. The same applies for both regular bake and convection.

We bought a KitchenAid dishwasher from Western Appliance in 2010. Paid $754.00 for it. Three years later, it died. I didnt pay up for extended warranty and was later told that just a service call would start at $120.00 for a technician to show up at my door step. Wow. This dishwasher started having problems with the lower rack rollers. They fell off and got melted in the drying element, $80.00 to replace. Then later, the upper rack had a problem with the attachments for it.A few months later, it popped the 20-amp breaker at fuse panel. I reset the panel and it worked for another week. The last straw was it just died. All it would do would have a blinking clean light on the interface panel. We used this appliance once a day for a family of 4. One would think that it would last longer than 3 years. To sum it up, looks nice but what a **. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID PRODUCT. YOU WILL REGRET IT IN THE LONG RUN. After reading the reviews about the factory and their customer service, I will never purchase another one as long as I an alive. Appliances like these should last longer.

This is a good looking, rather expensive refrigerator. It has a very well styled and functional interior; more room than I anticipated and much easier to store things neatly in freezer than my last side by side. The major disappointment is the drawers in the refrigerator part. They are so flimsy that they came apart and had to be taken out and put back together after using a short time. This was extremely disappointing since the rest of this appliance is sturdy, well thought out and beautifully styled. What were they thinking? I am very careful dealing with opening and closing filled drawers so they dont come apart again. I would certainly make checking out how well the drawers were made a priority when buying a new refrigerator. Something I would never have thought of before.

NEVER BUY A KITCHENAID REFRIGERATOR!! EVER!! My refrigerator has not worked since my install in July, 2019. Multiple service calls with no resolution. When I call I am put on hold for an average time of 30 to 45 minutes. Today on a 53 minute wait, when I connected they transferred me to the dept. responsible for my exchange and now it says a 75 minute hold. Customer service people have been nice and pleasant, but the company as a whole has a real issue and are understaffed. In addition, when I call to discuss the issue they just want to sell an extended warranty. I paid over $3,800 for the refrigerator, so expectation would be that it would work and be a good product. IT IS NOT!

Most unbelievable experience I have ever had in my life with an appliance (KFGG500EWH2), the other KitchenAid products have been fine? I bought this oven before Thanksgiving on 11-15-17. My wife just noticed now on December 25, 2017 that the top of the oven door and around the controls the white paint is turning Brown?!? I havent hardly used the oven but a half dozen times, a couple of pizzas and the turkey on Thanksgiving. We noticed on day one the stove top was more than just hot to the touch on Thanksgiving...more like untouchable!!! I will check the temperature now to see how hot it is getting. My guess is if it isnt a design defect, there may be some insulation missing in the door and or around the front of the stove top... Im not taking it apart to see why... This is more than disappointing. I will contact the manufacturer and the distributor ABT tomorrow to see what they will do. I have never seen anything like this before, this is the 3rd oven I have owned in my life, and never had this issue. I will post the receipt tomorrow if it lets me append this.

Bought a KitchenAid fridge, French doors, freezer on bottom two years ago for total kitchen remodel - all Kitchenaid appliances. I have had multiple programs with numerous appliances. I now have WATER from the ice maker coming out on my gorgeous hardwood floor and ruining the cherry cabinet around the fridge. French Door Refrigerator - KRFC300ESS. I should have read reviews about KitchenAid appliances before I purchased one. Please read this review and be careful when selecting your appliances and also check the warranty and service for these appliances. I purchased the refrigerator in October, 2016. In August, 2017, the freezer stopped working so all the food I had there I had to take out and consume or keep it in an ice box with ice. The refrigerator part also did not work - the temperature was +12C. I called Whirlpool (they are responsible for KitchenAid) and I was told that they will send out a technician. The technician came on August 23 but said he needs to order the part. The part came and the technician changed it on August 30. The freezer worked but the refrigerator didnt. I called back customers centre at Whirlpool and they sent out the technician again on September 1. The problem still was not fixed and the repair guy came back on September 13 and said he has to order another part. The part which was ordered was a wrong part so it had to be re-ordered and the 2nd order came on September 27th. After that call the refrigerator worked but then it started to freeze stuff. Once again the technician came on October 16 and said he has to order another part, on October 24 he installed it.Yesterday I discovered that my fresh basil, lettuce were frozen. Again. I called the Whirlpool and they will be sending out the technician again (I think this guy can moved in with my family- he has been here so many times). Luckily I purchased extended warranty. Be prepared when you call the service centre to be put on hold - today I was on the phone with them for over 1 hour. I BOUGHT A LEMON!!! IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH KITCHENAID I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED IT. How many times will it take to fix this lemon! Obviously there is something wrong with this unit.

We bought a very nice looking French door refrigerator and only six days later, it stopped cooling the food. The thermometers we put in it registered 50 degrees! The store would not replace it. Theyll just send out a technician and they dont know when that will be. Frankly, I dont trust KitchenAid as far as I can throw a stick if after only 6 days, it is not working. What happens in 60 days or 6 months? This was a brand new unit in the box and not a floor model. At least the freezer works and the full length deli drawer is working. I have food I have to move to an old garage fridge. They wont take care of that.

The design of the microwave section of the oven has the door opening down. You cannot remove it. Unless you are 6 feet tall and or an orangutan reaching the back of the microwave to clean the area that gets the dirtiest is next to impossible when you are a normal size person. In addition, periodically it decides that when you’re microwaving something, it just it doesn’t want to and it shuts off.

Latest KitchenAid KDTM354 dishwasher (June 2015 delivery) repeatedly (though not every time) leaks through the bottom of the door after about an hour into the wash cycle. Warranty service technicians so far made every excuse imaginable for us using wrong soap, wrong quantity of soap, machine can make occasional splash?! but practically fixed noting and problem remains. We tried their remedies but to no avail. KitchenAid indicated they only replace the dishwasher in proven non-repairable cases but refuse to specify how many tries to fix the problem are needed to qualify for that. In the end, it may prove cheaper to buy another dishwasher than to skip work another 4-5 times that will likely take KitchenAid to fix or replace this unit. If you live in the Philadelphia, PA area, consider a non-Whirlpool brand just to get more useful warranty support, if for no other reason.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2012 for $$$. So you know I had a Kenmore for 22 years that this KitchenAid was replacing and I actually sold the Kenmore for $50 because it still worked perfectly. I figured KitchenAid was a top of the line appliance. Ice maker went out within 13 months and after several calls I got them to cover parts and labor to fix it, but thats not the complaint here. Fast forward to 2016. In May 2016 the whole unit shut down and after several calls into CS found out it was my sealed system that went out and it was covered. It took a while to get my money back though. The day before Christmas 2016 my refrigerator went out. Long story short, I called the authorized KA service provider to come back out and they told me it would $450 to repair (again, 3rd major repair in 4 1/2 years while the 2nd major repair in 2016). After receiving the estimate I called KitchenAid CS to talk to them about this but their systems were down and couldnt help me and told me to call back the next day. Not thinking because I had a house full of kids on Christmas break from college I figured I would call back once I got back to work this week. Once I got a hold of someone from KA she told me KA would cover the parts only which I was ok with. She told me she would call the authorized repair company and get it worked out. I told her I already had it repaired because I had gone a week without a refrigerator anyway. KitchenAid wont reimburse a customer, just an authorized repair company. What a piece of ** company. Every time I contact KA they tell me the same thing. Appliances are meant to last forever and they never promised me that. I have another 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage thats worked perfectly that whole time and I spent like $500 on it. This was my first and MY LAST KitchenAid/Whirlpool purchase.

You can brush up against it and you wont even know until later on when you smell the horrible scent of gas. I was cleaning my stove earlier this morning and came back inside the house and I knew right away that the smell was gas and sure enough the knob was ever so lightly turned to the left and emitting gas fumes. I have never written a review, but compelled to because my experience with KitchenAid has been so terrible. I wish it was possible to rate KitchenAid zero stars. I have had nothing but problems with my brand new KitchenAid refrigerator (model #krmf706ess01) since I purchased it in January of 2017. In the last 7 months I have had to call KitchenAid on numerous occasions. The first time I called regarding the freezer because it had completely frozen over - The drawers would not slide open/shut because it was frozen solid. There was blocks of ice everywhere and all of our food was freezer burned. A technician from one of their hired contractors came out to fix the problem and afterward instructed us to empty the freezer for 24 hours and everything would go back to normal. We did so - throwing away all of the freezer burned food which was probably close to $300 worth of food. We refilled the freezer after that 24 hour period and the same thing happened again! Ruining all of my food again, and refreezing over again. At the same time, we began having problems with the water dispenser/ice maker leaking into the fridge. We called again and KitchenAid said they would send someone out. They scheduled the appointment for August 3rd - using the same repair contractor. I was given a 4 hour window meaning I had to stay home from work. August 3rd - nobody shows up or calls. I call Kitchen Aid to let them know that happened and after sitting on hold for 57 minutes, I was finally told that repair contractor needed to order a gasket and it would take 2-3 days to come in, but because of the inconvenience of nobody showing up, they would work with my schedule when rescheduling and give me a targeted time. Even though I complained about my food being ruined 2 times, nothing was done or said about that.2-3 days then passes by and nobody from the repair contractor called. 4 days later, someone finally calls and said they had to also order an ice maker in addition to the gasket. They have not seen the leakage problem at this point, but theyre ordering parts? Another 3 days passes and nobody called, so I called them. They let me know they had us scheduled for a technician to come out the next day. When was somebody going to tell me? They said they would try to get us a morning appointment. When I told them KitchenAid said they would work with my schedule, they just said they would try. I immediately called KitchenAid, explained this whole fiasco all over again, and the customer service rep offered me a $125 gift card for the ruined food, and said to have the technician come out one more time, and if problems still persisted after that, they would give us the option to either replace the unit or choose another refrigerator. The next day the repair contractor came with no parts that they claimed they had ordered and were waiting on. The guy looked at the freezer, said Wow thats really bad and claimed we needed a new door, which Kitchen Aid would need to approve, and would take 4-6 weeks to come in. He looked at the ice maker and said he would take care of that another time. I called Kitchen Aid immediately. The representative proceeded to tell me that they will not replace the refrigerator that their policy requires a certain amount of information and severity and our case does not qualify for a replacement as per their policy. He said the representative I already spoke to should have never promised me something thats not true. When I expressed my concerns - needing to miss work again, not being able to store food, having only $125 reimbursed even though I probably lost about $500 worth of food - his response was I understand, but offered no real solution. The only option he gave me was to send someone from a different repair contractor for a second opinion. So now I am left waiting on another appointment, with another technician, along with another day lost from work. The pictures Ive attached dont even begin to show how terrible the freezer ended up getting - this only shows the beginning of the problem. I am unbelievably disappointed in the product and service. When you spend thousands of dollars on a new refrigerator, you expect it to work properly.

We purchased a KitchenAid double oven with the construction of our new home. Commencing with the installation there was nothing but malfunctions with the oven. The fan was bad; control board went bad and most importantly (and never satisfactorily resolved) the oven consistently failed to preheat at the correct temperature or to cook evenly. The oven consistently overheats between 40-50 degrees. Several holidays were less than satisfactory due to the condition in which the food was cooked. The oven was serviced several times over one year and problems were never resolved. Before warranty ended, demanded oven be replaced because lemon and was refused. Told the uneven temperatures and cooking was the way it was suppose to function. Not if you want to follow a recipe, it isnt!!!

I bought a brand new KitchenAid refrigerator on December 26, 2013. On February went out, only lasted a year and four months. The unit does not cools and does not freeze - all my food went to waste. I contacted KitchenAid as soon as this happened. Has been almost four months and till this date they have been giving me the runaround. I been calling them every week. They keep transferring me to different person apologizing for what happened and still my fridge has not been fixed. It seems that they cant find anybody to work on it.I contacted a local service guy from Maytag. He did me a favor to check the damn thing. He told me what it needed. When I asked him to fix it he stated that the unit was under factory warranty and KitchenAid needed to take care of it. He also told me that he would not fix it because he would not deal with them. He also told me to call them again and keep insisting for them to fix it. He did mention that they would give me the runaround to avoid fixing it. He was was right. Here we go almost in the middle of June and still cant make them to fix my refrigerator. There is any one can tell me what I have to do to get this people to fix it. Somewhere I can call to ask for help. The unit was not cheap. I paid almost 3K for the refrigerator - for the damn thing to break in a year and four months. Help!!

25 month old KERS505XSS Electric Double Oven Range - Apparently, the self-cleaning cycle of KitchenAid ranges should not be used! After reading about the problems people are having with the self-cleaning cycle on KitchenAid ranges, we had a different problem. After using the self-cleaning cycle, a three-inch long section of the lower front corner of the Interior Porcelain coating was missing creating a deep groove where grease would collect. The KitchenAid Customer Service Department has a stock answer, We do not cover that problem! When we told Customer Service that we were worried about grease collecting in the groove and starting a fire, we were told Thats very simple, do not use the top oven!

We did a complete kitchen remodel and purchased the KitchenAid French Door
We did a complete kitchen remodel and purchased the KitchenAid French Door refrigerator. It was installed in March 2018. First repair call was in October 2018. The ice machine stopped working. We contacted the company, a repairman came out and had to order a new part for the fridge (which took another 2 weeks for the order to ship and installation). Less than one month later, the ice machine broke again and the LED light on the shelf started blinking like a strobe light. Repairman called again, new parts had to be ordered again and another 2 week wait for the parts to come in and be installed. I wish I had never purchased this product. All of the other new appliances in our kitchen are GE Cafe. Buyers remorse; I wish I had bought the GE refrigerator instead of this poorly built KitchenAid “wanna be”.

We bought this fridge in 2013, it looks good and has all the features that we need. We are senior citizens, so, prior to 2013, we had owned a number of fridges and never ever had a problem with any of them. This fridge is different, in 2019 the fridge stopped cooling because of the ice buildup. Repairman removed the ice, but he could not find was was wrong. Since then the fridge has not worked properly. In 2020 we placed another service call with Whirlpool (every service call cost a few $$ ).The tech suspected that there is a problem with a control panel, however he was not sure. He informed us that the repair would be quite expensive and it is not covered by warranty. The fridge is still not working properly - the cooling is on and off and we found an ice buildup under the freezer. By now we have had enough with costly repairs and persistent problems. It is time for a new fridge and we will make sure that it is not KitchenAid or Whirlpool. Stay away from these brands.

I purchased my second KitchenAid in 2005 since we were renovating our kitchen and wanted the counter depth model. I already had a KitchenAid that I was happy with, though it was only 2 years old. Within 18 months, the ice maker stopped working in the new one. We didnt replace it right away and we just used the ice from our other one, which was now in our basement as a second refrigerator. We finally had a new ice maker installed in July 2009 at a cost of $200, parts plus labor. Again, 18 months later (with a 1 year warranty), the ice maker stopped working. We went 2 more years without fixing it but finally did on February 27, 2013 at a cost of $242 when we needed it for a large family gathering. It broke again last week, June 20, 2014. 1 year and not even 4 months from the install date. It was suggested by the repair company that there may be a recall and I should call KitchenAid myself. After speaking to a customer service rep and then her supervisor, I was told they only warranty it for a year. Period. I explained that there was obviously a defect in my refrigerator, but that didnt seem to matter. They would have a service person come out for the usual fee. Meanwhile, my 11 year old other KitchenAid has started freezing food - but guess what? At least the ice maker works!! So unless you want to buy two of them to work as they should, I would buy another brand.

Im a commercial dishwasher repairman. My 10-month old dishwasher failed, dead, no lights, nothing. I checked the power and performed troubleshooting steps, determined the problem was a bad control board. I called the folks who sold it to me. They did not have a control board in stock. I asked that they bring a board with them so they could fix it with one visit. They said no, they could not be sure the board was the problem. I was going to have to wait 5 days (including Saturday & Sunday) for them to show up between 1 and 4, and then have to go through another wait until they were able to get the part. I am not very fond of washing dishes by hand, so I called around and found a parts place that could have the part by the next day (Saturday). The part came in and I installed the part, which fixed the problem. I called the dealer and canceled the service call and asked if it was possible to get any credit on the part. They said no, but I could call KitchenAid. I called KitchenAid this morning. No luck, it did not matter that Id saved them two service calls. It did not matter that I had taken the risk for the cost of the part if my diagnosis had been incorrect (with electronic parts, once the box is open, you own it). After speaking with Shari and David (a supervisor), KitchenAids policy is inflexible. If a customer touches it, they dont warranty it. In addition, they refused to send someone out to inspect my work or to confirm the board was bad. Im very disappointed! Heck, if they had offered to split the cost of the part or even to give me credit towards my next KitchenAid Appliance, Id have been thrilled. Instead, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

We have a KitchenAid Double Wall Oven purchased at Sears in 2001. Just now, fully out of the ten year warranty. Its model no. YKEBSDB3 and serial no. YK210XXXX.This unit has been nothing but trouble since we got it and we are at the point of replacing it. In Canada, this unit sells for over $3500.00. I never even thought to check consumer reports before we bought because I knew (ha!) that KitchenAid appliances were the top of the line, had an excellent reputation, and felt so lucky that I could financially buy such an excellent set of ovens for the first time in my life. Boy was I ever wrong.I wont go through the litany of issues we have had but they are similar to the rest of the complaints and issues stated previously. We had a Warranty with Sears which has now run out. I have to say the serviceman who does the warranty work for Sears was wonderful and I have no issues with him but, he also disclosed problems with several similar ovens. One easy fix: we have had issues with the door hinges/springs deteriorating and the doors not fully closing, hence the oven not warming. A quick fix is to buy two approximately 1 diameter rare earth magnets and place them on the sides of the door about 3 down from the top so as not to affect the electronic panel. They will keep your door tightly closed.I too, would join in any class action suit against KitchenAid/Whirlpool and will continue to badmouth the company at every opportunity until they had the decency to admit publicly that there are problems with these ovens and offer to repair them free of charge. Thanks for the platform to speak up.

I had this KitchenAid stovetop for 13 years KDRP407HSS4. Suddenly, without warning the broiler went on. I turned off the electricity at the fuse box. I turned it back on and this time the clean cycle went on while the knob was in the reset position. It created a fire. I was there to put it out. This is scary when a stove can turn itself on without a person doing it. If anyone else had this issue, please reply. I see some people had explosions. To date, the handle on my microwave didnt just come off, the plastic broke. It just doesnt heat food quickly and is the noisiest microwave ever. The range has knobs on the front and the writing on all the knobs came off within one month. Im currently on my third set of knobs and they now have no writing on them at all. Therefore if anyone else uses the range they have no idea what they are doing. Also, unless you lock the unit, if you lean over it to get something out of a cabinet, you can easily turn it on with your body without knowing it. Overall, this is a dangerous unit to own.

Horrible manufacturing!!! KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDE20IXSS8. Motor only mounted with a very SMALL PLASTIC grommet. Further, from the motor is a rubber hose/gasket that is clamped with a one-time-use flimsy ring. This attaches to the plastic drain pipe. When the grommet failed (vibration, etc), the flimsy plastic ring could not hold the weight of the motor separating the motor with the rubber hose FROM the drain pipe. SEE where Im going here, yes, catastrophic failure. Yup, water gushed out all over my kitchen floor. Under flooring, cabinets, under refrigerator. Water/moisture mitigation was encouraged by insurance company before repairs. Repairman also mentioned he has repaired this same problem 5 times. Shame on KitchenAid (made by Whirlpool), this should be recalled and at a minimum manufacturing resign is a must!

We purchased a high end KitchenAid side by side refrigerator in 2009, erroneously believing that KitchenAid products were of high quality. Wrong! In 2014 the refrigerator failed and was not repairable. Fortunately we had purchased an extended warranty and it was replaced with a new one, same model. In September, 2019, the replacement failed and was again not repairable. These are junk refrigerators with junk warranties as they do not last long enough to take advantage of repair and parts warranties. As they say, To forgive once is to be human. To forgive twice is to be a fool. Dont be a fool and buy a KitchenAid (Whirlpool) refrigerator.

The third rack is great improvement over the door-mounted utensil rack in our old Whirlpool (same company). However after two years st started blowing the circuit breaker and a second technician said it was a bad control board. These are back ordered 3-4 weeks. This range (Frigidaire Gallery 30 electric range model# CGEF304DK) was included in our new home purchased last year. The range looks nice but the oven racks repeatedly fall down causing the food and pans to spill out! This problem I was told was due to my neglect. Are they kidding? Steel racks are not long enough to stay in contact with the oven sides! The racks are not distorted or bent they just fall down. This could cause serious flesh burns and or a catastrophic fire if unattended for any short time period. KitchenAid totally abandoned their responsibility in this matter. Also the convection fan failed to operate. This upscale range is not older than 3 years, its a disgrace. We put tin cans in to support the racks when using the oven. Pitifully sad. My KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS35FX is 18 months old and has worked fine up until a few days ago when it just went completely dead. I didnt buy the extended warranty because I think they are a ripoff. I immediately started looking online for possible causes and solutions. It quickly became apparent that the problem was the thermal fuse. I called KitchenAid customer service 3 times, trying to get them to give me some help and what I got was ticked off. The first thing they told me was that I need to make sure and run hot water into the sink before starting the dishwasher, because the thermal fuse was overworked trying to get to the optimal temp, in this case when it failed, because I had the dishwasher set to sanitize. My issue is that I almost always start the washer right after dinner when I have finished rinsing off the dishes in hot water. They argued that the water needed to be 105, and I asked who in hell stands at the sink with a thermometer checking water temps? Why would they use such cheap and flimsy parts on a machine that I spent close to $900 on? If theres a sanitize feature, why do I have to worry that its going to wreck my machine? Next, they asked what temp my hot water heater is set at and did I know it was supposed to be 120. I said thats right where mine is. Then they suggested I could still spend $250 for their extended warranty and my repair would be covered. They refused to acknowledge that they are fully aware of these defects and refuse to make good on them. It is their cheap design and my tough luck. I called for repairs from the business that I bought the machine from and the tech told us that there is a harness kit for the wiring to keep it stable that KitchenAid came up with, because the connections would become loose from vibration, thus burn out the fuse when it became stressed. So they know they have a problem and they created a fix for it, but dont just fix it on their dime. They expect the consumer to do it. The service call and part cost me $170. I dont have money to waste on this ripoff.

We have a Kitchenaid KUDI01FLSS2 dishwasher. It came with the house we purchased six years ago - the unit was about 1 year old at the time. We have had constant problems: touch panel failed ($200), control board failed ($250), heater element failed which required a heater control board upgrade (design defect) ($250), chopper failed three times ($30 ea), door hinges failed, numerous plastic interior parts failed (all are overpriced), the door latch has a fundamental design problem (we have to use a clamp to keep the door from popping open in cycle). I am an engineer and was able to do all the repairs myself which saved hundreds of additional dollars. The dishwasher is a $1000 piece of junk. I would have scrapped in early on if I had only known!

After purchasing a high end dishwasher from KitchenAid, I am so disappointed in this machine. It has leaked water so long and ruined my kitchen floor to the extent it had to be replaced. The racks never stay up on the top shelf and had to be replaced three times. The dishwasher is just two years old and another leak, this time it was the motor/pump assembly to the tune of $210.00. I will never buy this brand again. I called customer service to complain and they wanted to give me a few hundred dollars discount on a new dishwasher, like I can afford another one. At any rate, it would never be this brand again when I do buy. So frustrated and so disappointed in this washer. You think you are paying more and getting a better machine, what a joke that is. This is Kitchenaid model KEBC247VSS02. The problem is common among ALL kitchenaid wall ovens. When using the self-cleaning mode, the oven apparently overheats resulting in a thermal fuse to blow. The oven shuts down completely, the door is locked and the oven cannot be used. Thanks to Youtube, the repair is relatively simple, although the entire double oven must be removed from the wall to replace the fuse. Appliance repair is a minimum of $200- 250. EVERY time the self-clean is used, the fuse blows. Therefore, self-clean CAN NOT be used. Terrible design and useless self-cleaning.

I purchased my KitchenAid French door fridge (Model # KFCS22EVWH2) new in Jan. of 2012. It is now September 2012 and I have a river flowing out of the bottom of my fridge. I have hardwood floors and the water is destroying them. I called Customer Service and a repairman came today. He explained that he reports this problem every day to KitchenAid. Apparently there is a small hole at the back of the freezer that allows condensation to drip into a pan under the freezer. When that hole becomes plugged, the water does not drain and creates an ice dam. When my kitchen heats up from weather or cooking, the ice melts and flows out of the freezer onto my floor. The only way to fix it is to unplug the fridge, let it defrost for 2 days and then plug it back in. Well, that does not fly with me. My husband and I are handicapped and we cannot go through this process every six months to save our floor. This is ridiculous. I called the company back and was told that this is new to them (right!) and they are sending another repair person in tomorrow. I dont know how this will turn out but I do know that I am not very happy right now. Can I trust the person tomorrow to tell me the truth? If he does get it to work, will the problem return after the warranty is up? Who fixes my floor? In all fairness to KitchenAid, I will post the results of tomorrows visit and a follow-up in a few months. I am in hopes that they will take care of this for me without a problem. I purchased a dishwasher and stove at the same time (also KitchenAid) so I hope that this is isolated and not an across-the-board disaster.

I learned Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service definition: The customer is responsible for serving KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I purchased a YKDSS907SS04 less than a year ago. The burners do not work correctly, heating unevenly and either taking too long to cook or burning food. I contacted Customer service, who gave the call to their local authorized service center. They called me back telling me they are not licensed to work on dual fuel ranges and would send the call back to Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Then the nightmare began. I received a call from Whirlpools re-scheduling department telling me to find a local repair shop and send them the bill. I refused. It is not my job to do their job. I followed up with a fax, received a call from their Executive Office - a woman named Carrie **. I could not take the call at the time. I called her back several times over the period of a week and only received a prompt return call after I threatened to contact my attorney. The story did not change - since Whirlpool cannot provide customer service, it is my job as their customer to provide service to them by finding a repair shop in the local Yellow Pages. Nothing changed. The story the same - different name. When I suggested to Ms. ** that Whirlpool should not sell their products in a market where they cannot service them, she told with a screaming tone of voice, that Whirlpool did not sell me the unit directly - but wholesaled it to Sears. Oh well. Forgive my poorly informed status. I initiated the service call reluctantly since I am uncomfortable about the fact that this is not a KitchenAid service provider. However, I will probably get much better service from them - since KitchenAid expect me - their customer - to service them. Carrie ** constantly interrupted me, screamed, and informed me that she would note my file that I refused to find a local provider, which would delay the warranty repair process and be noted in any legal action. BTW does a delayed return phone call qualify? Ms. **s voice mail states that she returns calls within 48 business hours. Well, she only works 8 hour days - I forgot - meaning it takes 6 days to receive a call.

The first occurrence was last summer and I should have addressed it then. This past month the refrigerator door pops open every time the freezer is shut. Called KitcheAid service to find out what it was and how to handle this. They scheduled me a service call. Did not offer any kind of warranty at that time and per conversation with KitchenAid today, they should have. Now its too late since I have already had a service man here and agreed to service with him.The service man told me both door closure cams were worn and that this was very unusual. He said this type of problem does not happen until the refrigerator is 10 to 12 years old. Also said that its usually bad on one door or the other and in my case, both doors are equally bad. It is going to cost me $280 for the repair. I called KitchenAid to register a complaint with their company and see if there is anything they could do to help out with the repair. No help with a relatively new refrigerator. Wont be buying this brand again.

Within the first year, the interior shell began developing cracks. It took hours on the phone to get a satisfactory response from the company. Its been about 7 years now, and the repairman said ...it would cost close to $1,000 to fix, and that it isnt worth it since it will likely break again. Because they always do. I spent a pretty penny on KitchenAid because I was told they are top of the line. Well, I feel cheated out of $2,000.... I have to throw this refrigerator away that literally looks brand new!!! It is absolutely gorgeous, and having to wheel it to the curb is a gross obscenity!

Brand new oven. Used oven in bake mode twice before. First time using in convection roast, set temp at 350, 45 minutes later heard a pop, went into kitchen, fine glass shards on floor, glass door in oven shattered. Called kitchenaid, they asked questions, said they would transfer me to the safety department, and disconnected me. I re-called, waited another 8 minutes and finally got connected to a person. Asked if anyone was hurt, I stated my dog got cut on his foot, they said they were sorry. They set up a repair appointment for the next week, they said if the repairperson had the glass they would fix it, otherwise they would order the part. I asked why they didnt tell them to bring the part, they said that was up to the repair people. I asked if there was any compensation for the meal in the oven covered in glass, they stated they dont do that. I asked if this was a recurring problem, she never did really answer, except to say that it is glass and glass does break. This issue really should be revealed when purchasing, and the extent of the problem revealed and pursued. If anyone had been in the kitchen at the time, they definitely would have gotten hurt.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher W10321621D has to be located just below the busiest food prep/washing counter. After starting, it appears if theres the slightest bump against the washer, it will shut off - all lights go out. It wont even hold the point where it needs to resume. We have to put in more soap and restart the process. Sometimes we dont realize what has happened until the next day. A younger family member will open the dishwasher. Ill start unloading and then realize the contents are still not clean, figured out what happened, and then try to figure out what has to go back in! Very aggravating. It could have something to do with the exposed touchpad on the front, even though we have been so cognizant not to touch while running. We now have to put a chair in front of the dishwasher every time it runs to make sure no one goes within 2 feet of it. Hard to work around.

Purchased new KitchenAid Architect Series French Door Bottom freezer refrigerator KF1S29BBMS02 for new house. This is the top of the line unit and we were extremely happy with the look, features and functionality. After 10 months of use the unit suddenly stopped working. Freezer temperature would barely get below freezing, the top refrigeration unit would not cool below 50 degrees and no ice would be produced. Obviously disappointed, but knew that we were under warranty and the unit would be fixed at no cost to us.Calling into warranty service was not too painful, short wait time and easy phone tree. People manning the warranty service line were all very pleasant and respectful. The issue is the process. The process as I understand it based on conversations with KitchenAid warranty service is that they will exhaust all options to attempt to repair the unit and then and only then will they consider other resolutions. In our situation we are in week five of the process. Four visits to repair unit, none successful and another visit planned in 2 days, which will be the start of week six, and we are still without a working unit. They will not offer a rental unit, but if you push they may offer you some minor value to offset the cost of a rental unit. In our area the shortest rental term was one month and the cost was over $160 per month. When I brought that number to KitchenAid, they would not provide that amount so we have to spend additional money due to their faulty product. When asked how long this may go on, they stated until the KitchenAid Warranty techs decided that the unit could not be repaired. Sounds reasonable, but what it equates to is weeks and weeks of back and forth between the third party service companies and KitchenAid Warranty techs trying different things to fix the unit. With each visit taking 3-5 days to schedule or longer if parts need to be ordered. Sounds like this effort goes on until the KitchenAid Warranty tech has replaced every part possible and there is nothing else to try. Based on current trend...this could take 8-10 weeks for our situation.I understand that process is necessary to protect business interest, but this has been a very frustrating customer experience that has completely thrown me off the KitchenAid brand and any other brand owned by Whirlpool. This is both from the quality and durability of the product standpoint and especially how the company deals with unsatisfied customers. While KitchenAid wont commit to what resolution they will offer if the unit cant be repaired, my preference would be a refund so that I can buy a product that is more reliable. My advice, Bing search how many complaints against whatever model of appliance your are considering and look for models with the lowest number or less significant type complaints. Reading the complaints about the model we bought after the fact, I very much doubt we would have purchased.

Purchased the KitchenAid KUDS35FXBL3FXBL3 dishwasher for approx $1000. In less than 2 years time, I have had the upper rack rollers break numerous times, and have replaced 4 sets at this point. On one occasion, the small plastic roller part that tends to break ended up falling into the drain system of the dishwasher and jammed the mechanism, causing it to immediately shut down. To date, all but one set of rack roller parts have been replaced under warranty, and the problem with the jammed motor/pump was also fixed under warranty. HOWEVER - the repeated breaking of the rack rollers in an ongoing and unacceptable problem. Despite the evidence, KitchenAid customer service claims there is no known issue with these parts. I offered to send them a link to this site, which details numerous complaints for this very issue, but they declined. AVOID PURCHASING SIMILAR KITCHENAID DISHWASHER MODELS.

Every Kitchen Aid appliance we own has failed. We have had multiple repairs to the refrigerator (compressor failed), dishwasher (door hinges made of cord failed), oven (multiple problems), microwave door, etc. Only after I started blogging all over the internet, did Whirlpool partially compensate us for repairs (that is a very long story). This month, the plastic tabs holding the vent above the microwave broke, and the oven racks rusted when I washed them. The oven self-cleaning cycle doesnt work very well either. I will never, ever, buy a Kitchen Aid product again. I will tell my story everywhere.

All 4 of my KitchenAid appliances (Superba dishwasher, range, slide-out hood, and fridge) are not working properly or not working, period. Its going to cost me over $1000 to fix them. I called customer service, spoke to the supervisor, but was told theres no extended warranty. So, I am solely responsible for the repairs. Its no surprise. Had I had problems with one appliance, Id probably be ok. But all 4? We thought we were purchasing quality appliances that would be dependable and lasting! All 4 are 11 years old, and in year 5, we had our first problem. Now, theyre all worthless! If the control panel for 3 of them is bad, that has to be inferior design. I will not purchase another KitchenAid appliance, and I will discourage others from doing the same.

This is the third time in 4 years that we have to get a serviceman in to repair our KA wall oven (KEBS107SSS03). This product has a definite weak point. You cannot use the self-clean function because if you do, your oven quits working. Something burns out. I suspect that it may be a temp high limit switch - unable to get straight answers from Whirlpool who sell KA appliances. Our local dealer was unable or couldnt be bothered to help. Whirlpool said that this was the first time they heard of this problem!! What a bunch of malarkey. I spent $8,000.00 on a wall oven, fridge, gas countertop stove, dishwasher and microwave. This is the service we get. We have been without an oven since April 6, 2013. 9 weeks!!!

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

Dispenser door for powdered soap does not open so soap is dispensed through open door. Part very expensive to replace. Last week heard loud noise like explosion. Door blew open while dishwasher was running. Fortunately we have a very nice and honest repair person who bent the latch in hopes of keeping the machine going until we redo our kitchen in a few months. Now run dishwasher with a chair in front and towels on the bottom in case this happens again. We will never purchase another kitchen aid product again.

I purchased the KFIS29BBMS French Door Bottom Freezer refrigerator in 12/13. On November 1, 2014 the refrigerator quit cooling and the freezer quit. Of course, we lost food. The dealership brought us a loaner refrigerator because it took several weeks for the part to be delivered. It was repaired on Dec. 12, 2014. On Christmas Day 2014 while we were gone, it quit working again. Again we lost food. It was picked up to be repaired by the dealership on 12/26/14. The old loaner fridge was brought back and I havent seen my refrigerator since. I have called Whirlpool corporation and have been given the standard warranty speech that they will repair it. I have asked for a new refrigerator to replace mine since it was less than 1 year old and obviously defective. Supervisor Chris was not helpful and said I shouldnt have bought the refrigerator if I didnt like the warranty. So count me in if a class action suit is started. I suggest we now go to social media and tell the stories.

I purchased the KitchenAid KESK901SSS Electric Slide In Range five years ago as part of a kitchen remodel. My experience is that the product is inferior and cannot withstand normal use, and parts are prohibitively expensive. A few years ago it cost me $600 to replace cooktop after a bottle fell on it and was not covered by insurance. More recently, after spilling water on the stovetop the oven control unit stopped working. Who would engineer a range that cannot withstand a water spill??? I was told by the technician sent by insurance carrier that replacement parts again were expensive -- in the $500-$600 range. Since I had insurance, I thought that this would be an easy fix. After waiting two months, it turns out that the replacement parts are unavailable! The best insurance would offer was a buyout at a fraction of the original cost of the product. I checked with a reputable appliance repair shop to see if I could have it repaired on my own. They wouldnt touch it... They said that parts were expensive, could not guarantee that it would even work, and that they have gotten stuck in the past. I am now forced with the inconvenience and expense of purchasing a new range at current prices which are twice as much as original model. In addition, since the original product did not slide in flush to the wall (there is a 3 gap), I need to have my custom granite countertop modified to accommodate a new range. I am very dissatisfied with KitchenAid (and its parent company, Whirlpool) quality and service.

We bought our house in 2004 and immediately started anew with appliances, granite etc., in our kitchen. I chose KitchenAid because I owned it years ago and had great success. We bought the most expensive dishwasher, microwave, slide-in stove and trash compactor available, thinking it would last. As you know, this stuff isnt inexpensive. We purchased the convection slide-in stove (KESC308LSS0), which died on Thanksgiving Day amid turkey cooking. A halogen microwave, which died six months ago and had to be replaced with a convection microwave that sounded like a bucket of bolts until repair, arrived under warranty one month later. The dishwasher has plastic tabs in it on the slider for the rack that break and fall into the motor. We repaired this ourselves twice with new motors and rack sliders, which now have been redesigned without the plastic tabs. We needed a part for the stove but it is discontinued, so we will have to live without it. Thankfully it is just cosmetic. We await a new control board for the oven as we speak and if we are lucky, it will work; if not, we will have to pay someone to fix it. My point is 8-year shelf life? Discontinued parts? I will never buy KitchenAid again. If we had had to pay someone to fix all this stuff, it would have been very expensive. I am really disappointed.

I have owned this KitchenAid DishWasher mod KUDS301xwh8 for only 3 years and today I find out I need a new motor plus a motherboard. When I called into KitchenAid for the repair scheduling, after I gave them this model number, they immediately offered me a one year warranty deal for more than 350$ which would cover the service call and all costs plus another year on a warranty. I thought that was odd to offer that right out of the gate and right after the model number, SO now I know that this model is a lemon and they have replaced motors on it so they offer this coverage to prevent fights from consumers. So now I will file an official complaint and request a new dishwasher plus I am canceling the payment of the warranty on my credit card as this is fraud on their part. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND... I have owned many dishwashers in 50 years of homeownership and never had any of them as much as need a service call in over 14 years of owning them but I never owned a KitchenAid and this one cost me more money than any other brand I ever owned. We recently purchased a Kitchenaid stainless steel dishwasher from Lowes. It is the quietest dishwasher I have ever had but it stinks! I mean it SMELLS terrible a day after it has been run. Smells like stale garbage filled water. When I questioned KitchenAid about this I was told the dishwasher does not entirely drain as not to dry out the gaskets... Well, that is all well and good but the leftover water stinks. I leave the dishwasher open almost all the time, which is very inconvenient in my small kitchen, to try to get it to dry. I would never recommend this dishwasher to anyone because of this. I tried running the cleaning product (Affresh) thru it but that didnt work. After one additional use, it was back to the same smelly condition. VERY disappointed in the expensive dishwasher.

Wife & I are close to retirement so we bought a top line KitchenAid Dishwasher for about $1,100 thinking we not only had a warranty but would have good performance and few if any repairs. Less than 2 years into the purchase we have now been without a dishwasher for over 4 weeks. The certified repair agency has been here 4x now and the dishwasher now has new: User Interface panel, CPU Control unit, dirty water sensor, motor, pump, tub, wiring harness.KitchenAid will not replace the unit with a new one (so much easier and so much better customer service). They would rather go through all of this replacement and inconvenience. This is similar to buying a rusted, dilapidated car from a junk yard. Made in Mexico I think. Very poor customer service. Very poor product. Not worth a $50 much less $1,100. Never again. Please tell your friends. I will be telling my friends as often as I can. The repair men are here today & if its not fixed, the BBB, the president of the company & the FTC will hear about it.

I, like many of the already listed complaints, purchased a KitchenAid Microwave (Model KHMS155LSS-4) as part of a complete appliance purchase in 2006. I had the same issue last year that others have listed about the unit randomly turning itself on. After contacting Customer Service, they escalated my issue and immediately had it handled by the Safety Department that ordered a new control panel and sent out A & E to repair. The unit seemed to be working fine until this past week when it stopped heating food. Everything seems to run as normal but it no longer heats anything. I contacted Customer Service today and nobody seems to care about the long repair history and lack of quality product they are producing. Im concerned that the current issue is somehow related to the prior issue, but they will not acknowledge that to be the case. It has to be bad on a microwave that runs without anything in it for long periods of time, even though Customer Service says their biggest concern when it runs without anything in it is damage to the inside cook chamber. If I decide to repair this microwave again, it will be the third time this unit has been repaired since I purchased in 2006. I am disappointed with the constant problems I have had with this microwave.

I too purchased a KitchenAid microwave convection hood combo. From the beginning the venting fan did not work well. Repairman did what he could to improve it but told me that it was designed primarily as a microwave and the hood function was secondary. This was covered under warranty. After warranty was up, the handle to open the door broke off at the bottom screw. This was because it is screwed into plastic on the inside of the door, and every time you pull the door open it strains this attachment. So the plastic broke. I was able to attach a metal strip inside and rescrew the handle in, reinforced by this metal strip. However each opening and closing puts strain on the rest of the plastic inner door that gets latched to the unit. The entire inner door plastic is now coming loose which causes faulty connections in the buttons on the outer door. So sometimes they do not work at all when you press on them. I have temporarily reinforced the inner plastic with superglue and electrical tape to hold it in place. But I have no idea how long this will last before I end up needing a whole new door. I should not have to superglue plastic parts in a $700 microwave!

I purchased a full set of Kitchenaid appliances 2 years ago. My purchase included a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave. Close to $10,000 worth of appliances. My experience with the refrigerator and Kitchenaids support had been a nightmare. (For clarification, Im middle aged, this is the 5th home I have owned and remodeled in my lifetime, and I consider myself reasonably intelligent with reasonable expectations.) I have had issues with the refrigerator within the first month of installation. - The water dispenser was and is incredibly loud. You can hear it on the other side of house. The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done - The ice maker would randomly defrost and leak all over the floor: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done. If the left door was left slightly ajar, the alarm would not go off: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was the design, and that one particular door is impacted and there was nothing wrong with the unit. - The lights on the inside of the unit would randomly not work, but then work 1 hour to 2 days later: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a head-scratcher, But because it was functioning when he looked at it, nothing to be done.I decided to purchase an extended warranty because I was already nervous about the longevity of the unit. During that extended warranty time, the previously mentioned items continued. Three weeks after the warranty expired, the unit basically died. It would randomly defrost the entire freezer and only come back on by flipping the breaker several times. The interior lights would not work about 30% of the time and the water dispenser would randomly stop working. When the freezer would start to thaw, so would the ice in the icemaker... and leak all over the floor. I had a different repair person come out. I was not going to have the same useless waste of time company come out if it was going to be out of my pocket. They replaced the entire motor. It worked for two days, and started the process again. They then replaced one of the primary computer boards. $1100 later, it worked for 3 weeks and then started thawing, defrosting, lights off, etc again. The thing is either possessed or a total lemon.

We spent $6000.00 for a built-in side by side 48 inches refrigerator. Nothing but trouble with the ice machine. First, it froze up soon after purchase. They sent a appliance person out. He said just break up the ice. How stupid was that? The next appliance person, the water is leaking into the motor of the ice dispenser freezing it up. When exposed, you could see all the frozen ice. A lot of it. No wonder the motor wont work, it was frozen up. When the new part came, it had a new part with it. This rubber washer was to stop the water from going into the motor and freezing it again. Now these motors are not cheap. So this was a design flaw. Here we go again: same problem even with the new rubber washer. It’s frozen up solid. It makes a lot of ice you just can’t get it out of the dispenser. I am sure there are a lot of people that have this same problem. This started before the warranty was out. This is a two years and 9 months appliance. There’s trouble with the ice maker all the time. They just tell you your warranty is out even though they made a flaw in the ice machine design.

I just got off the phone and as usual got nowhere with KitchenAid people including the manager. I too have had nothing but headaches with this piece of junk. As someone said, the top rack just collapsed downward on one side. We replaced the rack, and another part already; the junky plastic on the rack keeps breaking. The door for the soap doesnt open and it has been a better dish rack than dishwasher. I have washed dishes by hand more often than I was able to use this product. I am so disappointed that they, as a big company, couldnt send someone out for free for a change and try to back their name. They brag as you wait on the phone (which is forever), about how wonderful their service is. Well, the last visit cost over $100 to have a man run my dishwasher empty and tell me to use less soap and not packets. Now a manager told me to see if it works in the other types of washes. I asked how that would solve my problem. What am I supposed to do, switch from my one hour and compromise? I told him management is not his calling and he should consider another job. Never again will I buy KitchenAid which is a shame because my first one was great!

We bought very expensive KitchenAid Dishwasher including the guarantee. As system works well until now (estimates) 3 years. But we have an annoying problem with the rollers of the upper part constantly are coming out. This part of the dishwasher is very frail and delicate including without any dish appears very heavy for the rails and plastic rollers. Definitely in my opinion is a mistake of design. We call the technician for the guarantee - the answer is no solution. Do not buy this dishwasher.
