Called about cracks on inside of door. Two horizontal cracks the largest about 10 long. They told me needed to have a service rep come out. Cost 99.99. I find out this is a common problem with KitchenAid refrigerators and is not covered by any warranty even an extended warranty would have expired in my case (6yrs). The repair is tape and screws or door replacement. This is obviously poor manufacturing that KitchenAid refuses to acknowledge. Shame on them.

The broiler element on my KitchenAid range (Model No. KGSS907) came on by itself and stayed on. I was in the living room, and the first I knew was the smell of burning. Not only did it come on, I couldnt turn it off, the control panel being non-functioning. To stop it, I had to pull the unit away from the wall and unplug it, nothing else worked. Now I am afraid to leave the range alone. This is a big problem since I travel a lot. I was recently away in Europe for a month. Can you imagine what could have happened if the stove came on during that month? Normal practice for any controls designer is to make sure that any failure goes to the off position, but that apparently that does not apply to KitchenAid. Does anyone know of a recall?

We bought the KitchenAid refrigerator on Sept. 15, 2015 and it arrived with a non-working ice maker. We purchased it from a local Eugene, OR company rather than a big box store. My wife wanted to support a local business. When called about the non-working ice maker that dealer said wait 72 hours to see if it comes on because sometimes it takes that long. Had we known that we could not have made the purchase. Other manufacturers provide ice makers that begin work immediately (e.g., GE or LP). When it did not work 72 hours later we called the dealer again and he said he would call KitchenAid (KA) about warranty service. KA called a couple days later to say the parts were on order and would be ready in about 5 days. Nothing happen after 5 days and our dealer has not been any further help (Appliance and TV Center, Eugene, OR). Given the fact that the refrigerator arrived broken and there appears to be no KA service, we regret this purchase. Others in the market would be well-advised to avoid KitchenAid and look to GE or LP whose appliances have worked well for us.

KitchenAid refrigerator model #Ksf26c - We purchased our refrigerator less than a year ago and already have dents and scratches on the metal trim of the humidity control drawer and meat drawer. The quality of the metal trim is substandard. I called the parts department at KitchenAid and they will not replace the defective drawers because it is cosmetic. I would definitely recommend not purchasing this refrigerator.

You would think that you spend more money on a trusted brand that it would last for more than 5 years. Its only been used a couple times per week for my wife and me. Called three repair service companies who all told me that the issue is most likely a faulty circuit board which cost about half the price of a complete new dishwasher. Please be assured that I will never buy another appliance from KitchenAid in my lifetime. Hopefully my experience proves beneficial to you!

KitchenAid refrigerator model #KSCS25INSS01 failed, quit and died - This refrigerator quit working after only 5.6 years. It was the main control board. The fact that I lost some food wasnt the real issue for me. It was the response I received: We are very sorry, the control board is no longer available. The vendor that manufactures the part is no longer available, with no new supplier to manufacture the part at this time. Since we are also consumers, we understand your frustration. My only option is to send the part out and have it repaired. No response to my question about warranty and no to a new refrigerator. My issue is if KitchenAid cannot get parts, then they shouldnt be in the appliance business. So much for the warranty, its not worth the paper its written on. I only wish I would have read all of these other complaints prior to buying their products. Did this happen after Whirlpool bought them out or has it always been this bad? I have never had a problem with refrigerator, even the old secondhand ones always work. Any suggestions how to proceed? It looks to me like my experience doesnt even rate as a horror story compared to what I have read on this site.

We bought this refrigerator for our vacation home in Cabo and liked that it was a reputable American company with a local dealer if anything were to go wrong. Six months and four service calls later, KitchenAid has finally agreed that the unit is unrepairable and will replace it...but SIX MONTHS LATER? What if we hadnt kept the old refrigerator. This Kitchenaid doesnt get below 70 degrees, wont make ice cubes and doesnt keep anything in the freezer frozen! Basically it doesnt do one thing its supposed to do. Yet it has taken six months of aggravation to a least get Kitchenaid to own up to the fact that its a piece of junk. Now how many months till it gets replaced? I can understand that every once in awhile, a product gets through thats just not good, but thats where customer service comes in. The way that this has been handled is is a reflection of a complete lack of quality and integrity in every way. Beyond disappointing. While Id hope the majority of their projects work as they should, buying a product knowing how they treat the customer when the product doesnt work is a clear signal to look elsewhere.

After purchasing a high end dishwasher from KitchenAid, I am so disappointed in this machine. It has leaked water so long and ruined my kitchen floor to the extent it had to be replaced. The racks never stay up on the top shelf and had to be replaced three times. The dishwasher is just two years old and another leak, this time it was the motor/pump assembly to the tune of $210.00. I will never buy this brand again. I called customer service to complain and they wanted to give me a few hundred dollars discount on a new dishwasher, like I can afford another one. At any rate, it would never be this brand again when I do buy. So frustrated and so disappointed in this washer. You think you are paying more and getting a better machine, what a joke that is. Just not happy. Wish I would of read the above reviews before I had bought mine...

You have been fair warned. If you still buy a KitchenAid refrigerator after reading this then you have no right to complain. Total piece of junk - completely failed after less than 2 years. We lost several hundred dollars of food. Apt Appliances offered to do nothing but charge a $165 service call with a $400 labor minimum. This is after I bought ALL my appliances from them for a new house build. I called KitchenAid and they too denied warranty until I really started complaining and only then did they remember that there is some 2-4 year warranty covering many major parts and I could just purchase a warranty plan for $300 odd dollars to cover labor. They have zero pride in their product. I know the days of 30 year old appliances are gone, but 2 years - really???? Furthermore, their customer service people were aloof and rude. The best I can hope for is a class action law suit. Hopefully some law firm does a search that that term and stumbles upon these posts and takes action against them. This is what I get for buying made in America? Hopefully Honda will start making appliances!!!! In closing, may Satan curse KitchenAid.

Our problems with this dishwasher have been multiple over the 2 years and 5 months we have owned it. The electronic control board went bad almost immediately. This was fixed under warranty almost immediately. A few months later water leaked out of the machine and damaged our floors. We received a letter from KitchenAid owning up to the problem, with our model listed among the problem machines. When I called Customer Service to schedule repair I was told the serial number did not match up and that nothing could be done for us. The latest disaster is the warping, popping and breaking of almost all the plastic parts in the upper basket. Again, KitchenAid refuses to stand behind its miserably made product: I am told that I am out of warranty and that the Extended Service plan I purchased does not cover plastic parts. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid large appliance. I will not deal with a company that refuses to stand behind its product.

I purchased my Kitchenaid Refrigerator on 8/15/2018 plus a Service Agreement with Safeware. The model number is KRFF507HBL. Within six months the freezer LED light extinguished. Within the another six months the LED lights extinguished in the refrigerator. I guess this is a common occurrence with this product. In the owners there is a sentence that states LED Lighting do not need to be replaced. Thats is obviously a lie. This has been very costly to repair and of course Safeware the Service Agreement plan will not cover lights. I will never purchase Kitchenaid product or buy a Service Agreement especially with a third party company. I am so disappointed but I stuck with product that is garbage and not living up to its good name.

Under no circumstances would I purchase the K-A double wall oven. Woe and pity to those reviewers who are stuck with one of these. I purchased the first one back in 2001, very excited about the great features. Within 3 years, the self-cleaning program failed 3 times, the entire motherboard once... Glad I bought the extended warranty. I had to argue with K-A/Whirlpool to finally get a replacement that supposedly had the bugs fixed. Not so; the self-cleaning cycle again twice blew out the entire oven(s). What was I offered this time? A percentage of my original purchase price to be used toward another of the same model? Why on earth would I pay for or even want another of the same failing product? After several repairs for the same issue, K-A told me they would no longer fix the ovens if the self-cleaning problem happened again. So, for the past 5 years, I have resorted to the old cleaning method (for fear of blowing the units). Now I am in the process of a kitchen remodel. Believe it or not, most of the retailers are recommending Kitchen-Aid, how dare they? I have investigated many brands of medium to high end quality and price. I recommend the GE Profile or Cafe series for both performance, worry free use and fair pricing. (NO, I do not work for GE!) FYI- The K-A tech told me the company has known about the self-cleaning blowout for years. Cheaper to fix on warranty or charge the customer that correct the problem! Let the buyer beware!

I have had a problem with my brand new KitchenAid side by side fridge since day 1 !! The ice maker freezes up within a few hours of producing ice. The dispenser wont dispense ice because the ice is a frozen mess, but a slight leak of water continues to drip through the ice maker onto my wood floor. I didnt break it, it came this way! KitchenAid has sent 4 different repairmen from 2 different companies and so far no one has figured out what the problem is. Now they want me to setup a fifth appointment for another repairman to come. The unit has always been broken.KitchenAid should stand by their reputation and heavy ticket price and replace my fridge. They can fix it in their factory, but taking 4 days of work off to await repairmen to fix a brand new fridge is enough. So I still have a broken fridge, as my wood floors are being ruined while KitchenAid continues to try to repair it . Kitchenaid is a joke of a company and I will continue to share this information and my story until they replace my fridge!

My parents purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator model number KRFF507ESS01 six months ago. In that time the ice maker has never worked correctly and it has been broken twice, causing them to throw all their food away. The first repair took 10 days. They are now waiting on the second repair and it has been 8 days and they cannot get anyone out here for another 9 days. They purchased a top of the line stove, microwave, and mixer at the same time. They spent a lot of money and the customer service is terrible. They have had to buy coolers and countless bags of ice to keep food in the house. I asked the customer service rep what they needed to do to have a new unit sent out. I was told, Nothing, your parents signed the extended warranty which states repair, it doesnt say replacement. Im sorry, but where on that warranty did it say that you were selling them a piece of crap? Very disappointed.

We have owned the KERS306BSS range since March of 2013. On balance, we like the design of the range and its features (except the AquaLift cleaning feature which, like others have reported, does not clean well). During this time, we have had five instances of a repetitive problem of the range unexpectedly turning itself completely off. This has happened both while using the range and while it is not in use. KitchenAid FAQ advises customers to turn the power off, wait a minute, and turn the power back on in an effort to reboot the system. After doing this, however, only one of the features (oven or surface units) starts working again. The range has been serviced after each of these instances and works correctly for another few weeks, or maybe a month, and the problem repeats.KitchenAid initially would not refund our money and only offered a replacement unit. When we did not receive delivery confirmation, we attempted to follow up. We were told delivery had been delayed to February. Then, we were told replacement units were not available and given instructions on how to fax in an application for a refund. We told we would receive a confirmation. We did not. We will post our additional progress at resolving this complaint.Overall, our experience with KitchenAid Customer Service personnel has been very poor. Each time you call you get a different person who has a hard time locating your previous calls. The first time we called the Product Exchange Group we were assigned a contact person who said we should call her for any questions. Unfortunately, we could never reach her again and other customer personnel did not seem to know her.

I build new houses and new high end rentals. We have in the past used KitchenAid Refrigerators and dishwashers and stoves. I have 20 year old KitchenAid appliance in my own house. I purchased a new refrigerator 2 years ago for a new house I was building. It lasted less than 5 months before total failure. KitchenAid eventually replaced it after I spent 8 hours on the phone. This week a 15 month old KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working. The failure rate for Bosch appliances is about 1/2 the failure rate for KitchenAid. Customer Service for the new KitchenAid sucks at best. KitchenAid is now owned by Whirlpool and cannot care less about the old customers. If you want reliability and customer service buy Bosch or Miele. If KitchenAid cannot warranty their product for both part and labor for 2 years do not buy KitchenAid. The old KitchenAid company and its products and customer service is gone.

We purchased nine top-of-line KitchenAid built-in refrigerators for the premium units in a condo development. A circuit board failed on the first unit after 6 years. We replaced the circuit board (at significant expense) and the unit seemed to work fine... for awhile. Then, two more circuit boards failed in other units but this time circuit boards were not available, reportedly due to the tsunami in Japan. There was no support from KitchenAid or Standard TV & Appliance in Portland, OR - out of warranty they said. We finally found a company that rebuilt circuit boards (very expensive). We want to thank Chris from B.C. who posted detailed instructions for repairing the electronic control board for Kitchen Aid refrigerators. Our 5 y.o. premium cabinet depth Kitchen Aid model #KBFC42FTS02 had the same problem that Chris described (constant alarm chirping, flashing lights on control panel), but our fridge was still cold. The Kitchen Aid affiliated repair service (contracted by KitchenAid/Whirlpool) told us that the electronic control board needed to be replaced. However, they claimed that the factory which manufactured the parts in Japan had been destroyed by the tsunami and no more parts were being made. Further, I called the KitchenAid parts service line on their webpage and that person (also a contracted service, not a KitchenAid/Whirlpool employee) told us that the date listed for availability of the part was 2020 (which he said meant that they had no plans to supply the part in the future)! The repair service offered to take the part out (then we would have no working fridge) and send it out for repair, which could take up to 30 days - not a viable solution from our point of view. At the repairmans suggestion, we attempted to find a new or refurbished part online and were not successful. Obviously, lots of other folks are having the same problem with their KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Before Christmas, reluctantly we schedule a repair visit to have the part removed and sent for repair. The repair service never showed, despite their assurances that a repairman was delayed but was on his way! After that, we were reluctant to trust them with the brains of our expensive refrigerator. After Christmas, we found Chris blog of 12/28/13, with his description of the parts we would need to repair the control board ourselves and detailed instructions. We were able to make the repairs and our refrigerator is now working. Our cost was under $20. Thanks, Chris - this was a welcome holiday gift! We cant believe how callous KitchenAid/Whirlpool have been in abandoning their customers. We will never buy another product from their company.

Just like the last poster, my KitchenAid KUDS30IX is the WORST appliance I have ever purchased. Just 4 months after the one year warranty expired the already very wobbly top rack started losing plastic pieces and falling off when it had dishes in it. I called and they immediately knew what my problem was. They already had repair kits available for the problem which tells me many others have the same problem. Some of the parts in the repair kit are metal. Now it is not getting water to the top sprayers which means the top dishes are not getting clean. All the interior parts are flimsy and unstable except the stainless interior. The grinder gets louder by the day. I am completely dissatisfied with this product. I had other KitchenAids which were better quality, but I guess KitchenAid does not worry about making a quality product anymore. Warning. Dont buy one, youll regret it.

I have a brand new Kitchen Aid Conversion Oven/Microwave combo. The way the microwave is designed, you open the door down, like an oven, toward you. Thus, my child opened the microwave, took out some warmed milk, and spilled it on the door as he was getting it out. Some of the milk seeped in between the glass of the door. Apparently, there is no way to clean it! It looks terrible!I called KitchenAid customer service and they told me this a cosmetic issue but a repairman could come and take the door apart for $129 to clean it! Clearly, this is a design flaw! Spills happen all the time with food preparation. The owner should be able to clean it themselves!!! There are no warnings about this in the instruction booklet. How is the consumer supposed to know they cant fully clean the appliance? Why isnt the glass sealed? I want the public to know about the design flaw in the appliance.

Knowing we are under warranty we called KitchenAid to try and get service. However, their customer service is also horrible. That is totally unacceptable. In the meantime, we read the internet information saying that clicking noises signify a faulty compressor. This is really astounding considering that the fridge is just a couple of weeks in our possession. We have never had any major appliance fail badly like this and so quickly too. To conclude, we are returning to that major big box store where we purchased this defective appliance from and will have it returned. And we will NOT purchase another KitchenAid product ever again, not even to replace this damaged, useless fridge! Also we do not recommend anyone to waste good money and precious time on considering purchasing any KitchenAid product. Ironically we were told by the delivery person that KitchenAid is a durable, high end brand. It definitely isnt!!

I like the dishwasher. Stainless inside - great and stays clean and does not stain. I also like the shade of the white model. Washes consistently well. Nice arrangement of racks and silverware holders. It fairly quiet but not silent for sure. Purchased in about 2002. Only complaint is that the dishwasher sometimes leaks. Had a plumber here a bunch of times and Ive arranged dishes differently a bunch of times and neither the plumber nor I can figure whats causing the leak so I mop up with towels when it happens.

I purchased a model # KFIS29PBMS refrigerator thru Whirlpool VIP program in Nov 2014 for 2K (List price nearly 3K!). Since nearly the day we bought this POS the fridge makes a non-stop buzzing sound. This sound is so loud that we have to turn up our TV at night and on some nights close our bedroom door to drown out the buzzing. We have had 4 service calls and the repair people run their diagnostics and come back with NO ISSUE! I ask them about the sounds and they tell me that it is normal fan operation and that these high end products are more energy efficient and the fans run more. But, I ask them about the DAMN noise and they say that it is normal. I say BS!!! It may be normal for when the fan runs but it cant be normal for them to run all day and all night! Whirlpool keeps telling me that they are sorry that I dont like their resolution and my response is what damn resolution! They have done nothing! I live in FL and am from St. Joe, MI. I am going back to MI in mid-June and I am going to go into Kitchenaid offices and go into their product showroom and see if their products buzz all day long. If they do I will shut up and if they dont I am going to play my videos for them all day long and see what they say. My product is junk and obviously they do not care!

I remodeled my kitchen in 2004 with all new beautiful stainless KitchenAid
I remodeled my kitchen in 2004 with all new beautiful stainless KitchenAid appliances including a built-in $5000 fridge. The first thing that broke was the handle on my microwave right after the warranty ended - it couldnt be fixed without replacing the whole door, so I kept super gluing it till it finally blew in 2010 and couldnt be fixed. I replaced it with another KitchenAid microwave which was supposed to be comparable but it wasnt. It was my fault for not researching better, but it was Thanksgiving and I needed a new one immediately. The next appliance to break was my stove (also within just a few months of warranty ending) - just one burner, but wow! Was it pricey, a $300 part + the labor cost - so far so good. The next appliance to break was my dishwasher about 9 months ago - it needed a new inner door panel - part was no longer made. I finally found one in California, but between the part, shipping, and installation - over $400 - it doesnt make $ sense. Now, my gorgeous built-in fridge is broken. First, I replaced the thermostat. It worked fine for 1 day. Now, they say it must be a computer board - which the part is no longer available. It can be rebuilt, but with no guarantees it will work - so $300 for the rebuild, $150 to reinstall. Its about 5-8 weeks estimate to get the part back - so there is no fridge during that time. It may be worth it as the replacement cost for same fridge today is $8,000.Ive got to say that the service repair people have been awful (A&E). Theyre either late, or dont show up at all, and, so far, the majority of repairs Ive needed couldnt even be done. KitchenAid customer service is very frustrating. They love to tell you how sorry they are you are having these problems and are happy to set you up to purchase new appliances. I have 2 other refrigerators in my garage (thank God). One is a KitchenAid about 20 years old; the other is a 25+ year-old Maytag I think - neither of these have ever even needed a repair. Whats up with newer appliances? Do they have a chip in them designed to break right after the warranty is up? Ive started reading complaints not only for KitchenAid, but GE and others as well. It seems the consumer is just screwed as there are tons of complaints on all these manufacturers. Its painfully obvious that Im going to just have to replace all of these appliances very prematurely because of poor quality, design and workmanship, lack of replacement parts or rebuilding computer boards that have no warranties or guarantees. Im researching to see if there are any alternatives, any appliance manufacturer that can give me any sense of getting my monies worth. So far, it doesnt look good ... but for sure I will not buy KitchenAid products nor recommend them. I will, however, be happy to share with my friends/family/whoever what a bad experience I have had with their products, the lack of quality, the high cost, and the poor service after the fact. Sign me distressed, tired, ripped off. I almost forgot - my KitchenAid toaster also broke right after the warranty was out!

4 years ago when we built our new home, we bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher - retailed at $1800. The big attraction was how quiet it was supposed to be - and it is. However, in the past 8 months the control panel has gone out THREE times! At $150 for the part, and another $150 for service call and labor to replace it, it has reached the point of absurdity. The cycle times are also erratic. Sometimes it will take 4 hours! to go through a normal wash cycle, and others maybe 2. It has seemed to clean well, and it is quiet. But... the ridiculous lack of dependability makes KitchenAid no longer a desirable product.

Had the same thing happen with a potato that I sensor cooked this evening. I am so thankful that I was in the kitchen when it happened. The potato actually caught on fire and the flames were inside the microwave. I had to take the potato out of the oven and burned myself in the process. I dont dare use it now. If I had been in another room, who knows what would have happened? As far as Im concerned, its trashed! From what I have been reading here from you folks, it doesnt appear that KitchenAid is very helpful no matter what the problem. You pay top $ for what you think is a good product, lesson learned. Could have bought 10 one hundred dollar ones for what I paid for it.

I wish I had read reviews here before we bought our stove! We have a 2003 KitchenAid (KGSC308LSSO) -- $1400 and change. It has fussy controls and hard to clean; Ive never liked the thing. The self-cleaner stopped working years ago; weve just lived without it. Then last week the stove was preheating to 350F, and the inner glass window spontaneously broke. My husband called it in; gave them the model number and all other information.Today I have to take a half day off of work. The usual response, well come between 1-5 PM routine; around 3 PM a repairman called to say he would be coming by to look at the stove, and put in an order for any needed parts. What the **? We need a window. Its going to cost me half a day of work, plus the cost of a service call, or two calls, to have some guy who sounded pretty incompetent on the phone tell me that we need a new window? No more KitchenAid in this house.

We are lucky this did not catch fire. The service person is saying that the part may have been discontinued. Wondering how Whirlpool corporation is going to rectify this as they do not replace appliances, just fix them under warranty.

This fridge was bought at Fergusons in Florida in late 2006 (shipped overseas) and it has been a total disaster from the date of arrival. It is an extremely expensive fridge, over US$6,000. Stainless steel, architecturally designed fridge. Came with NO freon and the ice maker never worked. Took us about 6 months to get the part for the ice maker which the company did pay for the part considering it was a brand new fridge. Since then it has been one repair after another. Every year we are looking at a major repair and to source the parts is a living nightmare. Drops temperature very quickly.Right now it has been working poorly for over close to a year and we have spent about US$1,500 in new parts and still not working properly. Very cheaply made inside, always frosting up, wire baskets in the freezer part are all rusty. Need to try one more repairmen and if he cannot fix it have to throw out a fridge that looks perfectly NEW from the outside. The dishwasher arrived without a handle and we had to argue with Fergusons and KitchenAid to get the handle as if it was an option on the dishwasher. Has never worked properly and was only used about 25 times and just gave up on it.KitchenAid Double wall Oven KEBC208KSS0, worked well until about 18 months ago. Stopped heating properly and cannot find any repairman that can tell me what is wrong. Looks perfectly new from the outside. Note: all these appliances are stainless steel. Bought a food processor the other day 12 qt and it was never working from the start and had to return it. When I returned it found out that many are returned for the same reason. KitchenAid is a pathetic company. They should be ashamed to even call themselves an appliance company. Furnished my entire kitchen with stainless steel KitchenAid appliances and out of the fridge, double wall oven, dishwasher and hob cooker (total about US$10,000), after 7 years ONLY the hob cooker is working (and what can go wrong with that?). Another point, our goods had to be shipped overseas. We are convinced that retail outlets in the USA ship out defective goods especially in Florida where exports to Caribbean and South/Central America are high. Defective merchandise is sent to our region because guess what? Warranties are not applicable when the goods are taken out of the USA. I am happy to send you copies of the bills for all the items and reams of correspondence with Fergusons.Updated on 12/7/2015: I have exhausted all attempts to try and repair a KitchenAid Fridge we purchased at Ferguson Enterprises, Inc, Tamarac, Florida. 24.7 CF Architectural Designed SXS Fridge. Model number#KKSSC42FKS. At the time that we purchased the KitchenAid appliances, we wanted quality products as the items were being shipped to the Caribbean. We thought the KitchenAid brand was considered a quality product. We paid $4,741 for the fridge (excluding shipping and duties and taxes in our country). With all due respect to KitchenAid, the products we purchased appear like quality appliances. All are stainless steel with an excellent finish. That is the dilemma. The fridge looks brand new on the outside, but for the last year it has not been working. It is still in my kitchen as it is built into the kitchen wall and as I already stated it looks perfect from the outside. The big problem is that try as we may, we cannot get the part that is needed for this fridge. I have had 2 parts shipped to me at considerable expense and both are not the right part. Our technician who knows KitchenAid appliances says that we are getting the part for a new model and we need the part for the old model. PART REQUIRED: KitchenAid fridge, Model KSSC42FKSO1. Serial #QM4308660. Power supply board #10155702BO 19/0ct/04. EU 1156 02. These are the numbers that I got off the board. The board goes into a case and the case has written on it: Embraco EU 1556 02B 04. Compressor Electronic Control Unit - UCC2. The first part we purchased was from Angel Appliances. They sent me the part which as we have already said was the wrong part as it is for a new model. It was sent back to them. We have a purchasing agent in Florida who went direct to the KitchenAid factory for the part and it is still the wrong part, actually the same part that I got from Angel Appliances in California. I had a young lady on Skype from KitchenAid parts department the other day and she is the first person to tell me outright that the part I want is no longer manufactured for the old model fridges. She then went on to say that the new part that was sent to us is supposed to fit the fridge that we have. When I explained that the technician says that it does not, she then said that is probably needs some adjustment. When I asked what kind of adjustment? The line went dead. This is a typical trick. As soon as the question gets uncomfortable they hang up on you pleading the line went dead. I did not want to go back but this fridge has been a white elephant right from the start. It arrived in a beautiful crate but when it was unpacked it was not working. It had no Freon. When it started working the ice maker did not work. It took us forever to get the company we bought it from Fergusons to send us a new part for the ice maker at their cost. Then in 2009 we needed an electronic board and had to search for months before we got it from Marcone Supply Appliance, in Miami, Florida. I have had to replace the defrost heater, evaporator motor, all the rubber seal around the doors, only to name a few. This fridge is down continually and I hate to say but the mechanics for the working of the fridge is a terrible quality. Of course, warranties given in the USA fail to work in the Caribbean as the excuse is the appliance has been taken out of the country. So we are left with an appliance that looks perfect but for which we cannot get a part. I love the look of the fridge, its size and its capacity. However, the length of time it takes us to get parts that work and that fit the fridge make it a living nightmare. Yet, why should we have to throw it out? It makes absolutely no sense. Also how can your company justify not making parts for a fridge that is 12 years old? Is there anybody anywhere that can resolve this matter because we absolutely have no idea what to do other than throw the fridge out?

Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife
Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife and I remodeled our upscale homes kitchen 2+ years ago. Granite, all brand new top of the line Kitchenaid appliances. We wanted to buy American, since I have had a 35 year + career in US based manufacturing sales. Well, the KFIS29PBMS refrigerator was unbearably loud from day 1. We had 4 warranty calls right off the bat. They replaced the DC fan motor, the compressor and some icemaker components. This did nothing to relieve the very loud whiny electrical motor sound that was on almost constantly. This took us to the end of our 1 year mfg warranty. We called Kitchenaid several times and they basically showed us their corporate middle finger. They suggested we purchase the extended warranty, which was several hundred $ more! No way, we are not that stupid or foolish. 5 different factory authorized service people visited us. By luck, or I think, Gods grace, repairman #5, who had 18 years as a tech rep, finally solved the issue. The problem was the sealed refrigerant system had a leak. The compressor was kicking into the highest gear (hence the loudest noise level) to try and keep the freezer & refrigerator cool. Our bottom drawer freezers coldest temp was at 20 degrees, when it should have been 0 degrees. The icemaker requires 15 degrees to make ice. It could not do this since 15 degrees was colder than the freezer temp, and the icemaker is located in the refrigerator section! The sealed system has a 10-year warranty, so the final repair cost $0!! Our refrigerator is now very quiet, much to our delight. There were times when we could not deal with sitting at our kitchen table. So, justice was finally done. Call your factory authorized repair people and make them check the temps in the freezer. Kitchenaid needs to stand behind their substandard products. The repair people advised us that Kitchenaid will no longer pay for warranty calls based on noise. If their customers make them replace the expensive sealed refrigerant system enough, perhaps they will spend the extra $ to install better quality units from better quality suppliers. I was told by every tech rep that the quality of todays appliances have deteriorated significantly in recent years. The big companies wants your $, but dont care if they send you bad products. Thank you, I hope this helps many people.

We have had a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDI01FLBL3) for over six years now. We purchased this dishwasher so we could mount a cabinet panel on the front to match the kitchen cabinets. After just one year, the plastic parts in the door spring assembly broke and the door came crashing down. Customer service told me that the parts would not be under warranty. After several hours of talking to different departments, I finally received the parts at no cost. Less than two years later, the same parts broke again and the door came crashing down. I talked to several technicians at KitchenAid stating that this was a design flaw. They said it was more than likely due to the panel I had installed on the front of the dishwasher being too heavy. I removed it and took it back to the cabinet shop. It was one pound under the recommended weight. I paid $100 to remove another two pounds of wood from it before reinstalling it along with new plastic door parts (which I had to pay for this time). The same parts have broken two more times in the past three years. I have had the cabinet company install removable panels in the cabinets on both sides of the dishwasher for easier access to replace the broken plastic parts. Now, the door latch will not hold the door closed. I called customer service for replacement parts. It was going to be over $100 for parts and shipping! They stated that there was nothing wrong with the original design but they now have redesigned the original parts. This was the same story I got for the plastic door spring assembly parts! Between the door parts, cabinet work and now the latch, Im now going to buy another dishwasher. It will not be a KitchenAid ever!

Kitchen Aid KUDS301XSS8 - This dishwasher is a piece of junk! Expensive & for no reason the computer board turns on & off during cycle if you stand in front of dishwasher! (Interrupting was cycles... Repairman told us to put it on control lock where it gets stuck in lock mode & beeps obnoxiously at you! This feature doesnt work.) Our biggest complaint & the one the repairman said he fixed ALL the time... is the wheels on top rack. We had the dishwasher less than a year & two, rack fell apart! Well not even a year after repair, it broke again! Do not buy this dishwasher!!! I have no idea why we ever listened to the lame sales guy at Sears... We have the big side-by-side stainless steel model, purchased in 2005 for our new home. We are in the same situation as the previous reviewer. The circuit board was removed and taken for repair. The problem is that the part is no longer available, so they are refurbishing them and must have weeks of backlogged work to do to fix them. We are also waiting on A&E. Unfortunately, they dont give you this information. They say the part is on backorder. Hello, its not on backorder. There is none.KitchenAid and Whirlpool are big companies and they should order some circuit boards because there seem to be an awful lot of unhappy customers losing food and waiting weeks or months for the repair to be done. If you have one of these big units, you can only leave the door open for a couple of minutes maximum. If you need to clean, remove the shelves or drawers and close the doors. Otherwise, the alarm will begin beeping and within days or weeks, the circuit board will fry. This is a known problem and a recall should be conducted to replace the offending parts on these units!

The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking, then will turn itself back on, anywhere from 30-60 minutes later. My husband and I moved into our just built, brand new home with brand new appliances, in November 2006. We have a Kitchen Aid Gas Range Architect II series (model KGRS807SBL00). The first Christmas meal, in December 2006 was just shy of a disaster. The fan in the oven kept making a horrible sound, and then the oven shut off in the middle of convection cooking the prime rib roast. Luckily, the neighbors let us use their stove to finish the roast. Our entire family and guests didnt eat, until almost 9PM that night. The oven, of course, turned itself back on within an hour or so. A service call the next day showed nothing was wrong with the oven, and the issue couldnt be replicated. Next year, no noise from the fan, but during the Thanksgiving dinner, the oven shut off again unexpectedly, in the middle of a regular baking cycle, and of course, with no warning, turned itself back on 30 minutes later. This year, same thing happened, and again, a $30-$40 service call to a licensed Kitchen Aid technician shows nothing. The diagnosis cant be made, because the issue cant be replicated. The oven is barely 5 years old, and of course, is outside of the warranties, and frankly doesnt get much use. Its just me and my husband cooking. Were often not even home, and Ive used the self-cleaning cycle twice in the 5 years weve had it. This oven doesnt take a beating in terms of use, and certainly seems to be a faulty product. The only similarity to the occurrences when the oven shuts off appears to be that several burners are going while the oven has been on for a while. Its like the system overloads, which sounds like a computer or electrical sensor issue. Ive spoken with several customer service agents, and and ultimately, my calls to Kitchen Aid are a waste of time. They continue to recommend more service calls, which cost money every time, with no resolution and a stove Im stuck with, which wont work consistently. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool oven again, and will tell everyone who will listen what a crappy product they produce, and how they wont stand by them.

We bought a new Kitchenaid refrigerator French door bottom freezer model # KFIS29BBWH03. The Fan noise is horrible. Sounds like an Ambulance coming down the road. Very unacceptable. We also have ice on the back of the unit inside the refrigerator part which the latest service man, whom we have had four come, said it was a problem with the indoor ice. It also causes the shelves to be wet all the time. The service man has ordered a new computer board for that issue but says the fan noise is normal even though we can hear it throughout the house. Fortunately I also purchased a Sears Service contract. It is now on its fifth ice maker and has had fans, sensors and boards replaced. Admittedly all covered by the contract but the inconvenience involved is important. I just called for a service repair which will be in 8 days. KitchenAid outsources all of their repairs to Whirlpool who has DESTROYED my $1500 stove in order to fix the fan. They have forced me to stay home from work for over 2 weeks worth of time due to repairs caused by the previous repair damage that theyve caused. Every time they leave I find another rookie mistake that has caused additional damage. I am FED up with this company and will never buy from them again. I have tried to be patient, but a week after an oven fire, that had it happened when we were gone, would have started a kitchen/house fire. As it is I had to call the fire department because I could not turn off the oven. A malfunction allowed the igniter to heat and by the time I woke up (4 am), the house was filled with acrid smoke smell. I went out and thought I had finally canceled the igniter (the cancel button seemed to turn things off after several attempts). Then my husband woke up and wondered what was going on and why, after 1/2 hour the smell was still very strong. Come to find out when I went back in that the igniter was still on and the cover plate over the heating element was bright red with flames shooting out of the sides (of the plate). It was self-contained in the oven, but so hot that when the fire fighters came, they couldnt touch it. They had to turn off the gas and unplug the cord.As I said, its been a week and there has been no call back after the initial phone call to send out a technician (The technician was great and found where there was a short on the board). What is most sobering to me is that my husband is disabled. Had the oven fire started on a day when I was gone volunteering, he could have been trapped by a house fire. I explained this and still no response. I would highly recommend not buying anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool until they have a better service record.

The repairman came and opened the back of the oven and realized that there was a fuse (?) that hadnt been pushed in during the assembly and then thought this would be the resolution but the self clean feature scrolled across still saying, feature not available. So next the repairman felt that there must be a computer issue with the stove so he ordered a new panel after speaking to the engineers at Kitchenaid and the next time he came he installed the new one and again the self cleaning feature wasnt available. The repairman had spent at least two hours of time at my place on the two visits he made and I was stressed with what my bill was going to be. He left my house not knowing what to do next and told me he was going to speak with Kitchenaid on my behalf as something was extremely wrong with how this stove was working or should I say not working. I got a telephone call later that afternoon from the repairman who told me that the engineers at Kitchenaid had found what they thought was the problem. Apparently if the power to the stove is interrupted as in unplugging the stove (which was done each time the repairman did anything to the stove) or a power outage, the stove goes through electronic checks to prevent damage and will not self clean for 10 minutes after the power has resumed and will say the feature isnt available. This is not written in any manual, and apparently it was found by the engineers in a small written place in their information. This was a new problem they hadnt ever encountered because obviously no one has come in from a power outage and started cleaning their stove within 10 minutes of the power coming back on.In the end, it looks like the fuse that hadnt been plugged in was probably the culprit and the repairman didnt know to wait for 10 minutes after repluging in the stove to test the feature. Kitchenaid paid the entire repairman bill...my stove is working perfectly now. I can imagine that in the future that the repairmen will be informed off this 10 minute wait period, or that it will be written in the manuals...what a headache to resolve a simple issue but Im happy now with my stove and with Kitchenaid.

Just days outside warranty, defrost or mister, or whatever they called them broke, stopped working, and so did my refrigerator. Pay a lot to repair and 6 months later the freezer defrost, or leak in freon, or whatever is broke and doesnt work again. Called KitchenAid and get a very calm, no need to get excited because we never do anything about your complaints voice, who helps me by scheduling someone to come look at it and pay them $99 for their trouble and then pay more to fix something that should not be broken!!!Thought we paid top dollar for quality company and appliance...never again. But just told by my repairman that 7 appliance brands are now owned by same company. If this is true we are all screwed! Model KFIS29BBMS00. Their recommended repair company coming in two days. We will see what it costs this time and if they can actually repair the problem.

I purchased a new KitchenAid model KUDL15FXSS5 for a house I moved into in January of this year. It was professionally installed and seemed to be operating properly when I ran it with normal load of dishes. The dishes did not come clean. There was food still on the plates and silverware. Soap was still draining from the detergent tray. I was perplexed. To give some background, I had been living across the street from my new location for 2 years in a house with the same water supply (main), using a 10-year-old dishwasher, using the same Cascade liquid detergent (recommended brand), getting great results. The only new variable is the dishwasher. I tried again using the ProWash cycle, same results.I added the recommended rinse aid, same results. I took out the dishes and washed them by hand. I then tried the dishwasher again with another load of dishes, still not clean. I ran the sink water until it was hot then tried again, still no improvement. I went online to the KitchenAid site and submitted a detailed problem report but never received a response. I finally called KitchenAid, went through all the call center questions and set up a service call. The technician spent about 30 minutes running through diagnostics only to tell me that everything checked out. He suggested the problem could be hard water or my detergent. When explained that Ive been living in the neighborhood for two years, his comment was, Well, they dont make them like they used to.I asked about the heater since it seemed to me that the water never got very hot. He indicated that energy star compliance has reduced the heater output to the point that it may impact cleaning performance. Long story short, Ive used KitchenAid products for 40 years. They were a good brand. Current product performance is not acceptable. The company does not seem to care. I guess Ill go to Goodwill and try to find a good used one.

We purchased KitchenAid KUDS30IVWH3 a year and a half ago from Lowe’s. All new dishwashers have a new connector that hooks the water supply to dishwasher. It simply screws onto a plastic piece. Over time this connector simply came loose. It flooded our kitchen and laundry room which has been three months of restoration - new floors, rebuilt cabinets, etc. And it cost many thousands of dollars for the insurance company. It has been a serious problem. The plumber said these new connectors are not safe and he gets nervous every time he installs one. He said they cannot be refit with a different connector. I am the second person he has had with major flooding in the home due to the new connectors. He said the European dishwashers still have the old brass connectors.

Five years ago, we fully remodeled our kitchen with all KitchenAid appliances including ice maker, side-by-side refrigerator, cooktop and wall oven/microwave, all supposed to be the top of the line. We have had nothing but problems with everything except the icemaker. Junk! We have just replaced both refrigerators with Samsung and we are looking for a new oven and cooktop, both of which died this past weekend. Junk! My sister and a close friend have the exact story. I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had such a low standard. This is the third time that I am having problem with my dishwasher. Last year, I spent $120.00 on the door hinge and now problem with the dishwasher not working at all. I called KitchenAid and was informed I will either need to spend another $300 to fix the unit, or purchase a one-year warranty and pay $275.00. Unfortunately, I also have a KitchenAid refrigerator that so far I had to spend over $600 in the last 3 years for repairs.Do I need to keep on wasting $500.00 every 6 months with further service calls and parts? Why would KitchenAid make disposable appliances? They will need to disclose to consumer at the time of the purchase that appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid are disposable, and every year we need to replace them with a brand new unit. KitchenAid is responsible for taking care of my dishwasher. I can no longer invest more money on the defected appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid.

Buyer Beware! My partner and I bought a $6,000 KitchenAid 36-inch dual-fuel
Buyer Beware! My partner and I bought a $6,000 KitchenAid 36-inch dual-fuel range about 12 years ago. Since then, the oven has failed three times, the last time for good. When I called the manager of the expensive appliance store where we bought it, Cocoplum, in Essex Junction, VT, he told me that we had a lemon and went on to say that the company was no longer any good. The problem, according to him, is that the high temperatures of the self-cleaning oven (which we have not used often) do not play well with the complex electronics of the stove. Bottom line: after 12 years, we have had to plunk down $7,000 for a new stove, this time a Thermador with gas only. There is a class-action lawsuit being brought against the company in New York, and other reviews online confirm our expensive bad experience.

Brand new oven. Used oven in bake mode twice before. First time using in convection roast, set temp at 350, 45 minutes later heard a pop, went into kitchen, fine glass shards on floor, glass door in oven shattered. Called kitchenaid, they asked questions, said they would transfer me to the safety department, and disconnected me. I re-called, waited another 8 minutes and finally got connected to a person. Asked if anyone was hurt, I stated my dog got cut on his foot, they said they were sorry. They set up a repair appointment for the next week, they said if the repairperson had the glass they would fix it, otherwise they would order the part. I asked why they didnt tell them to bring the part, they said that was up to the repair people. I asked if there was any compensation for the meal in the oven covered in glass, they stated they dont do that. I asked if this was a recurring problem, she never did really answer, except to say that it is glass and glass does break. This issue really should be revealed when purchasing, and the extent of the problem revealed and pursued. If anyone had been in the kitchen at the time, they definitely would have gotten hurt.

KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS02FRSS2 - We bought this dishwasher from a local distributor to the trade for more than $1100 in September 2006 and now, in less than 6.5 years, the control panel has stopped working. I tried all the suggestions in the manual and that customer service recommended without results. We set up a service appointment with a KitchenAid certified repair firm with a ridiculous $150 appointment charge. The tech tried to run diagnostics on it with no apparent success and just came back with a, It looks like you need a new control panel! Of course, he tried to sell me a $300+ extended warranty, in case anything else goes wrong. For just $430, I could have my gently used (run less than once a week in its life) $1200 dishwasher back in use. This unit was installed with our kitchen remodel when we also bought KitchenAid cabinet-depth refrigerator, dual fuel range, microwave and dishwasher, $7500 in what we thought were premium appliances. Im pissed at the lack of customer service support and, based on what I read here, are significant quality issues with KitchenAid dishwashers and a company focused more on selling extended warranties. Kitchenaid Duel Fuel Range Oven Problem Model KDRP407HSS10 - While baking oven door locked and went into cleaning cycle, food in oven was smoking and could not cancel cycle. Husband had to turn breaker off and let oven cool down and then turn breaker back on so electronics would unlock door and then was able to get food out. Tried to use oven again and did the same thing. Called Kitchenaid and they would not admit or even acknowledge they were aware of the problem. I told them they had to be aware of the problem because I have seen postings of the same exact problem going all the way back to 2005. Had to ask twice to talk to supervisors at next level to try and get their explanation of what it would take to repair the range. I explained I wanted to talk to someone who had knowledge of what it was required to fix the problem. Someone at KA has to know what is wrong. I am now waiting for the third supervisor to call us back. One posting I read said that in the state of NY there was a class action lawsuit filed against KA. This is an extremely dangerous situation and could cause a serious fire. Do not understand why this problem has not been addressed. The ovens should have been recalled.

BUYER BEWARE...DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. I have read the comments made by many people regarding the refrigerators but I have another issue with KitchenAid/Whirlpool. The Plate on the bottom of my electric oven states that the Country of Origin is Canada..I provided the appliance pamphlet and layout information to my service repairman and he noted that that pamphlet said that only US-made models have a fuse so after his inspection determined that the reason the oven was not working was because of the Circuit Board and subsequently ordered. When the part was received and put in, the oven still did not work. The repairman did another detailed inspection and found a fuse and it was blown. The pamphlet specifically states that only US models have a fuse. I will take this matter further to determine what agency regulates mislabeling of Country of Origin. With all the deception detailed by the many complaints by homeowners, there must be a reason why KitchenAid/Whirlpool mislabels the electric ovens and I suspect mislabeling may give some sort of money advantage. In addition, as most of the complaints state, KitchenAid customer service is horrible and when I furnished them with supporting documentation, they would not even try to justify why the Country of Origin was misrepresented or direct me to anyone that could address the problem. The age-old adage, keep on stalling and the complainant will probably give up and go away. If not for the mislabeling, the repair cost me $600 instead of $2 to replace the fuse.

To KitchenAid Dishwashers: Compliments and thanks! KitchenAid has stepped up big time, so I want to update my November 7 negative review of dishwasher model # KDFE204EWH. This morning, we got a very nice phone call from KitchenAid’s customer care people. They will pay for the part replacement and the installation labor. In a happy coincidence, their local authorized service operation happens to be the same (first-rate) dealer we bought the dishwasher from, so I know the follow-through will be there. Two takeaways: At least one of the “squawking platforms” that we used for our complaining this past week did the trick, so complain widely! And It likely also helped that we promptly registered our purchase with KitchenAid, so they already had all the details.

Both freezer and refrigerator stopped working. We lost all our freezer food and we were forced to rent another refrigerator while waiting for an appointment to have the refrigerator repaired. The refrigerator is still under the warranty period. We have had the assigned repair company come out three times. They have replaced the control module voltage inverter. The refrigerator is still not working and now the repair person has stated he is not sure and will start replacing more parts. KitchenAid has stated that they will NOT do anything but allow this technician to replace part by part. This is a $10K refrigerator and they have little regard to helping resolve the issue. We purchased KitchenAid model # KDFE204EWH1, paid $145.00 to have it installed, bought extended warranty and it has never cleaned a dish. We had two technicians out who gave us hints to help, i.e. put more soap in, run your faucet until the water is so hot that you cant touch it because the first rinse in the machine is cold water, use Jet Dry. Ive been using dishwashers for a long time and have never needed technicians to come to the house and instruct me on how to use it. KitchenAid has officially chalked the problem up to owner misuse. This is highly insulting and ridiculous. We even paid our plumber to come and see if the problem could be caused by our plumbing - negative on that. I called the company and was told that if I try another dishwasher detergent, that it might help. Other customers have found it to be very helpful.Give me a break! The machine is a piece of garbage and has never, ever worked. $1,000. of our money has been thrown out the window and we have been treated poorly by this company to say the least. The internet chat line person knew nothing about that. He sent me a copy of what was included with the owners manual that doesnt reflect the actual model. Question is, do I waste another $250 with further service calls and parts or do I buy a disposable one for only $247 and give up on those pretty premium expensive disposable appliances? Bought a complete line of KitchenAid products for a remodel job on my kitchen a year ago. Purchased the products in April 2017 but did not install them until the first part of June. The KRSC503ESS side by side, counter depth refrigerator does not cool properly. In December 2017 I notice the refrigerator was warm and the bottom drawer was not going in all the way. There was an ice build up at the back of the refrigerator. Also, the freezer was not cooling properly. Call for service and they replace a fan motor and thermistor. The unit seem to be working fine until this week. Same problem. Pulled everything out and turned the refrigerator off for 24 hours to let it thaw out. Turned it back on and everything is working fine again. I personally feel there is a bad design in this unit. The bottom doors are against the cooling unit in the back of the refrigerator. I feel this will continue forever.I call for service again and now KitchenAid and the extended warranty company are saying its not their problem. The KitchenAid service said that I might be responsible for the service call if they come out and find it is not a warranty issue for them. Additionally, the ice maker makes loud noises when it dumps the ice in the ice container. It does wake me up at night. I thought KitchenAid was suppose to be the higher end of appliances, but boy, was I wrong. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have done my homework a lot more. Never again.

I loved my Kitchenaid krff507e, until I didnt. Spoiled milk and sour orange juice is a bad way to start your day. I called Customer Service, and even though the fridge was just a little over a year old, they refused repair service. After much time spent on Google, I found the resolution for the frost behind the Deli/Cheese drawer and why the fridge wasnt cooling to acceptable temperature. The Temperature Sensor was in the wrong place. An actual appliance repairman was kind enough to post that this was KNOWN to Kitchenaid, that there was actually a technical service bulletin FOR this issue. Now, given that I spent $2500 on a fridge that I could only use for a year, I was not about to spend another dime for service, and since kitchenaid was not offering to repair what, in my opinion, SHOULD have been recalled, I fixed it myself. Hopefully my fridge and I will have many great years together, no thanks to Kitchenaid.

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator as part of an appliance package for a new home. We did not want the high-end option, so we were offered this package as an balance between cost and performance. We installed this refrigerator, a KitchenAid microwave, a KitchenAid cooktop and a KitchenAid dishwasher. Of all the four, the refrigerator is the worst. It broke down immediately after the 1-year warranty period ended. I had KitchenAid service people here on three occasions and they changed every computer component (board) in the machine. Each time, the machine would work well for a little while and then it would gradually degrade in performance. Right now, it is not cooling properly and not making ice. The gasket around the freezer is falling off so the freezer door will not close correctly, but the computer does not detect this as an open door for purposes of the alarm. At first, I was pleased to see the America sticker in the door - now I really dont care where my next refrigerator is made as long as it performs better than this very expensive paperweight.

I was asked when I called for service of the same issue for the second time in about a month, if I had called the manufacturer to inquire about the issue. I quickly responded that this is the very reason that I purchased a 3-year extended warranty and that I consider this to be her/the companys job to investigate and find out and not mine. I suggest before anyone purchases a major appliance to do a considerable amount of research to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly about the product. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time being frustrated.

I just replaced my 29 year old dishwasher. Things just don’t last anymore.??? I’m very impressed with the improvements that have been made in the 3 decades. I can easily put more items in and they come out cleaner.

I bought my KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM354DSS5 from Best Buy on December 10th 2017. I noticed my dishes werent coming out clean and went on a trip to NY. When I got back my floor was covered in water. I called the repair center at Best Buy and they told me the warranty expired on the 10th of December 2018. What the heck - 9 days later and you cant cover it. They sent me to a call center and the lady sold me service plan for $286.00. I called the service provider and they told me I cant use it for 60 days and that they wont cover the repair since it happened prior. Do not buy KitchenAid which is Whirlpool in disguise. I spent over a $1000.00 for a dishwasher that didnt hold up for a year. It is the pump. A very costly repair.

Purchased this unit in 2010 with an extended warranty. The unit died in 2012 and was able to get it replaced because of the extended warranty. However an extended warranty was not offered to me on the replacement. The replacement was installed in November 2012 and failed to heat anything in 2015, approximately 2 1/2 years old. I called KitchenAid and spoke with their representative in Tennessee, I explained that this was the second microwave that failed in a two year timeframe. The lady was not very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a warranty or I could pay to have a technician come out and look at it. She advised me complaints on defective manufacturing are based on Service Technician calls since they did not have any for this Model then there is nothing wrong with it. I asked her why would 2 of the same units fail during the same time frame and KitchenAid would not recognize that something is wrong with the unit. I told her I could buy a microwave for less than $100.00 and it would last longer than this model. She told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Apparently I am to blame because I did not get an extended warranty from them for $329.00. At this point she stopped listening to my questions and proceeded in a very loud voice which can be heard clearly from 3 feet away that KitchenAid stands behind their product and there is nothing wrong with that Model microwave because there have not been any complaints. I told her to search the internet. If KitchenAid sold quality products and stand behind their products why would there be a need for an extended warranty. Very, very poor customer service. Therefore if you buy a KitchenAid appliance buy a very long extended warranty because their items are not cheap and the warranty is not cheap also.

While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

I have purchased a KitchenAid oven. Never again. It takes over 12 minutes to heat up. All the while it is running, it is loud. The burners take forever to get hot also. I have also purchased a refrigerator. The ice maker is awful...Its too small and doesnt make ice fast enough. The other product from KitchenAid I purchased is a front load washer and dryer. The washer needs to be cleaned all the time. I was not told that. The dryers lint catcher, for a large capacity dryer, is so small, its ridiculous. None of these things were mentioned to me. I would have never purchased these appliance if I knew! Very upset buyer.

I have a KitchenAid refrigerator that has a problem with the main circuit board. KitchenAid no longer has a company that can replace that board (manufacturing plant was destroyed in a Tsunami) and it cannot be repaired, according to them. They were offering me a pro-rated exchange of $5800, based on the age of my current refrigerator. A new one is priced at about $8000. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After receiving the complaint from the BBB, a representative from Whirlpools Product Review Board called me to process the exchange. I told her that $5800 was an unreasonable amount for me to have to pay to get my refrigerator replaced, given the fact that the parts and labor to fix it in the first place, should have only cost around $300. She spoke with her manager, who I believe is Jake **, and the pro-rated amount changed to $2300. She said that was their best offer and that I had 30 days to decide. Its not a perfect outcome, as we are still out of pocket the $2300, but I do think that filing the complaint with the BBB is what made them try harder to settle this issue. I highly recommend getting the BBB involved if you are experiencing issues with Whirlpool because in my case, they did follow through, and I had a better outcome because of it.

We bought this refrigerator from our builder, Pulte Homes in 08/2017. It is model number KRFC604FSS00. Do not buy this or any other Kitchen Aid product. Every single person in our development is having the same problems with their ice makers. Kitchen Aid is owned by Whirlpool. They put you on hold for 45 minutes before they pick up the phone to schedule a warranty person to come out. The service company that they used had to ask me how to turn the ice maker on and off. They are completely inept, its been over a month with a broken product and Whirlpool could care less. So if you want to do yourself a favor, buy a GE... they are a superior product and not absolute crap like Kitchen Aid.
