I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

My husband and I purchased all KitchenAid products for use in a new home we
My husband and I purchased all KitchenAid products for use in a new home we were building in late December 1997. In the first cleaning of the double-wall oven, it locked up; and we had to have the service man from Sears come out and fix it. Since that time, I have had some trouble with the touch pad working and then not working. About 2 weeks ago, I called Sears; and they sent a repair man out to fix this problem. He informed me that the part for my Superba KitchenAid double-wall oven had been discontinued and that I had probably paid $2,700.00 for this oven. Much to my amazement, because we purchased so many kitchen appliances, I had no idea we had paid this price. Nonetheless, he informed me he had other customers whom he had tried to get parts for and gave me very little hope of ever finding the part to repair this oven. So I called KitchenAid and was told it had been discontinued and hopes of finding part number 4451292 was going to be very unlikely. I proceeded to get onto the internet on Ask.com and found a repair site. I did some research and found it has been discontinued and that they dont have any idea of anywhere to get this control pad fixed or purchased. I feel that, after reading all the other complaints on these same malfunctions, there should be some kind of enforcement that KitchenAid or Sears should have warned the public at the time of purchase as to the approximate time you have to get parts for such expensive items. My oven is almost new inside and out. I and my husband (who is now deceased) worked out on the road for many years, and use of this oven was very limited due to us always being gone out on the road. The bottom oven has been used maybe 3 times, and the top oven has not been used hardly at all, compared to my KitchenAid microwave, which we both used all the time.when we were home. My guess would be that it would about compare a thousand or more to one. The touch pad on my microwave is still doing super. After viewing all the complaints on this model number KEBS277DWH1, part number 4451292, and the issues all of us are having with these ovens, I would hope that someone would stand up for us in a class action lawsuit. These products are very expensive, and nobody is helping the consumers on this product problem. Please someone stick up for all of us who need someone who can make this company responsible for such inadequate products. As of today, I have no ovens to cook Easter dinner in, because nobody has a part to repair this. And I am a widow and havent the money ($3,500.00) to buy another one. This is what repair.com wants for another one. Im very dissatisfied and angry with the outcome of all the work and research done and to get nowhere. Help!

I have a brand new Kitchen Aid Conversion Oven/Microwave combo. The way the microwave is designed, you open the door down, like an oven, toward you. Thus, my child opened the microwave, took out some warmed milk, and spilled it on the door as he was getting it out. Some of the milk seeped in between the glass of the door. Apparently, there is no way to clean it! It looks terrible!I called KitchenAid customer service and they told me this a cosmetic issue but a repairman could come and take the door apart for $129 to clean it! Clearly, this is a design flaw! Spills happen all the time with food preparation. The owner should be able to clean it themselves!!! There are no warnings about this in the instruction booklet. How is the consumer supposed to know they cant fully clean the appliance? Why isnt the glass sealed? I want the public to know about the design flaw in the appliance.

As I write this, my oven is being repaired for the fourth time, for the same problem. Since it is out of warranty, I will be paying for this. When you try to self-clean, it goes for an hour or two, then stops, giving an error code because the plastic, yes plastic, around the latch has melted, and the oven thinks the door is open. The repairman this time told me to never again try to self clean the oven. It will just keep happening! This oven is about 6 years old, but this has been happening since it was just over a year old. Also, even when it did clean in the beginning, the glass door does not actually get clean, particularly the space left between the two panes of glass, again yes, a space left open. I would suggest the designer of this oven be punished by having to use it. Clearly these should have been recalled or replaced by KitchenAid, as they are aware of the problem. But no such luck, at least not that I am aware of.

This is our 2nd Kitchen Aid dishwasher. The first lasted 15 years, which is why we went back to the company. The top rack on this one is plastic (terrible idea!) and had to be replaced. I went to the Lowes where we bought it and the new design is steel ball bearings - much better. But that leaves me and my family in the lurch with an $800 dishwasher that needs an upper rack every 2 years. Lowes and Kitchen Aid have not been helpful, I had to buy parts, $75, to install myself because I didnt want to pay an additional cost to have a repairman come to the house. I think either Lowes or Kitchen Aid should step forward with a better solution.

Five or six years ago I purchased a high end Kitchenaid Dishwasher. Three times it flooded my house including once that triggered a substantial insurance claim. To make up for this Whirlpool Canada offered me a discount on a new machine. I accepted the offer hoping the first machine was just a lemon. With the new machine I purchased the CertifiedCare extended warranty. This past July my dishwasher stopped working. I called in and it took almost a month for a technician to come to look at it. He said he would order parts. Now it is the end of September, almost three months later, and I still do not have a working machine and no one from CertifiedCare or Whirlpool has even given hint that they care about solving the problem. I am married with six kids and need a working dishwasher in my house. Whirlpool needs to step up and do something about this.

Our 3 year old, $3100.00 refrigerator is leaking water from the bottom. When checking it further, I found a layer of ice that had formed under the freezer drawer. I removed it once last week and rearranged the frozen food to ensure adequate circulation of air around the entire freezer drawer. Well, this morning, once again, the water is on the floor and ice under the drawer. WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS PROBLEM? All kitchen appliances are KitchenAid and this is the only one with problems, so far.

While building a new home we selected KitchenAid for several of the appliances. The freezer in this refrigerator failed after less than 2 years. The factory approved service company was called and on the first visit they determined it to be a evaporator fan. Of course they did not have the part. So it was replaced on visit number 2. It failed again after about 1 month and visit number 3 was scheduled. This time it was determined to be a controller board. Again, the tech did not have the part so visit number 4 is scheduled. So far it has cost me almost $600 and 4 days of waiting for the tech to show up. Not good for a $3,000 + appliance.

I purchased KA side-by-side 48 counter-depth fridge, wall oven with microwave, dishwasher and 48 cooktop for new home 8 years ago. These were not middle of the road models. They were the top models available at the time! The microwave hasnt worked in three years; the dishwasher works but the door pops open right in the middle of washing, so have to prop heavy chair in front of it; and the fridge is now developing cracks in the wall between the fridge and freezer at the rate of 2 inches per day! BTW, the compressor gave up after only 3 1/2 years and was replaced by KA because the hot door burned my nieces hand. I have no hope of getting these repaired as KA said sorry; it’s out of warranty. I spent over $12,000 on garbage that should have lasted many years. I have an old fridge in the garage that has never had a problem in over 30 years, along with an old behemoth microwave that still can cook like a breeze after 20 years. I totally cannot afford to have the KA products repaired so I am stuck. Does anyone know if there is a certain kind of epoxy I should get to try and repair the fridge myself? I am disabled now and need all the advice I can get. Take it from me, dont ever buy a KA product.

Pretty much everything was covered, ad nauseam, in this blog. New house, new appliances - the repairman was here three times because our $7,000 SXS KitchenAid fridge/freezer (Model: Kss048FTX03) was not cooling. The repairman said the first time he was here that he installed the part that would solve the problem. Well, he will be back in 4-5 days with another part. It seems that the wall between the fridge and the freezer builds up ice that prevents cooling in the refrigerator. At least, that is what I am told. I was also told that he is very frequently called out to repair this issue.I mainly bought this product because we wanted to install custom door overlays to match our cabinets and a large unit. Not a lot is available in Hawaii and we were able to order this from Lowes. We are so sorry we did. Im glad that I purchased extended warranties on all appliances and am real glad that only two of them are KitchenAid! We, too, have lost all our food twice, not to mention the hassle of removing everything together with the thaw out and order process for parts. Should we have a class action here? We shall see. Im glad I found this site. My husband is a litigation lawyer with just such experience, so I may be back in touch with everyone when the next repair fails!

I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old. Its a lemon made by KitchenAid. I purchased the refrigerator KFIS29BBMS00 in brand new condition from a Texas appliance retailer in North Richland Hills in September of 2012. All was well until six months later, in March of 2013, the refrigerator stopped keeping the non-freezer items cool and ice was forming around the ice maker in the upper refrigerator, and also inside the door of the freezer. They, KitchenAid, dispatched an appliance technician for diagnostics. Lets start the count off for personal days of vacation stolen by these guys. (1 day) Evaporator fan ordered, and installed 10 days later mid April. (2 days) Load noise and additional ice build up 1 week later, service call scheduled. Same repair guy, different day. Parts ordered to replace faulty fan. (3 days) Two weeks later, installed firmware upgraded circuit board. (4 days vacation) In late June, the ice maker stopped working, service scheduled mid July with new service company and technician. (5 days vacation) Of course, parts ordered again... This time, the technician had them shipped to my house.About 12 days later, we received a parts shipment. We called KitchenAid when we received the parts package, asking when the service company was supposed to be back. They contacted them and they were out the next day. (6 days of vacation) Unfortunately, there were two additional parts being shipped and the repair could not be completed. Should not someone have known this dependency when we called? Fast forward an additional two weeks, now we are in early August and we called the service company again since all the parts are in. They cant come out until Sept 3, and in the meantime the refrigerator is making a very loud annoying noise. So, we called KitchenAid to report it and let them know we could not have the appliance serviced with the previous work order since the service provider stated they were only authorized to repair the ice maker. KitchenAid dispatched a third appliance repair company, who was scheduled by KitchenAid for 8/26, then no call no show. They said they did not receive a work order from KitchenAid, but assured me they could make it tomorrow, 8/26. (7 days vacation lost) The third repair company came out today, 8/27, and said they cant repair the refrigerator until the other company completes their work order. (8 days of vacation) Remember now, I still have another appointment scheduled for 9/3/2013, so count on another vacation day, totaling 9 for now and counting.

We purchased this dishwasher (KUDE70FXPA3) and had it installed 6 months later when our kitchen renovation was finished. After one use, the door latch froze and it would not shut. A week later, the repairman came and reset the lock. When we tried to use it again a few days later (not used in the interim), the latch was frozen again. Out came the repairman with a new latch. All seemed well until the unit started to leak from the lower right side. The repairman cant explain it but is ordering a new seal. KitchenAid did extend the warranty for another year for free as we have only used the machine for six months and have been helpful, but I think it is a poor design. It is also supposed to be able to support a wood cabinet face. The springs are so weak that it barely holds it up. The repairman says it is the same with all of them. We bought this unit, our third KitchenAid dishwasher, because we loved the first two. Suddenly, there is a real quality problem and I would not be likely to buy another KitchenAid unit in the future. The customer service has been good but I really have little faith in the product. It seems like KitchenAid is experiencing the General Motors Syndrome. Hopefully, like GM, they recognize the problems and get back to building quality products. I still love our KitchenAid stand mixer.

I purchased a five-door KitchenAid refrigerator model number KRMF706ESSOO that was delivered 9/23/16. The refrigerators top right-hand door had rust on it & the ice maker did not worked at delivery nor the day after. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times and the water valve 3 times. Today is December 22nd 2016 and after seven attempts of the service techs that Whirlpool sent to make the repairs so that we can have ice we still have no ice. Because the water has always leaking out of the Chute of the ice makers, that they keep replacing and the water valves that they keep replacing wont seal at all where the two grommets are located the water continually leaks out around the grommets and tubes that supply water for drinking and ice for the ice maker. I have to keep towels inside my refrigerator to collect to the water that comes through the vent holes and drips on the shelves inside the refrigerator or choose to turn the water off completely to the refrigerator. Therefore not being able to have filtered water (because of the seriousness of the defects we turned the water off today to the refrigerator). The repairman had to replace the electronic control board on the drawer that has the temperature selection for your meats, cheese, etcetera because the water linkage shorted out the control panel. The water leakage at the top is so heavy that the 4 light panels were fill with water. Today when the technician took the panel off, it took three full-size bath towels to clean up the water mess. My husband and I are exhausted worrying about the refrigerator electrically shorting out.We feel like KitchenAid company is guilty of neglect & have a defective product and unsatisfactory service technicians that they have certified and require you to use. The tech today a new company that repairs refrigerators (not the company that KitchenAid originally schedule the repairs & said that we had to use) told us that there is a manufacturer defect & theres a aftermarket kit that has to be put on this model refrigerator in order for the ice maker to work and make ice and prevent the water from leaking out of the front of the ice maker. First of all they have to put a defrost element on our ice maker!!! Can you believe that? When the tech took the back of the refrigerator off there was solid wall of ice so now we have to have a defroster on the icemaker. Next the temperature has to be below 37 degrees in order for the ice maker to work; therefore, and aftermarket installation add-on kit to keep the cold air inside the refrigerator compartment has to be ordered and installed. The repair technician showed us at the back of the refrigerator where the cold air is leaking out at the back of the refrigerator that we never noticed before or would have considered a manufacture defect and design flaw; we were just dumbfounded at the amount of air leakage out of the refrigerator compartment to the outside of the refrigerator. There should be a class action suit against this FOR PROFIT (in my personal opinion only) driven company that would put their customers /consumers through this. Greed is rampant. Weve spoken with the supervisor at KitchenAid (after not getting any satisfaction from the call center customer complaint center). We were told that KitchenAid makes NO lemons NOR defective products. KitchenAid MAY be in complete denial or must have a phone script that they are required to read from. They voice record every conversation for their benefit. To collect all the facts and then deliver the same tired phrases Were not going to do anything other than to replace parts. The food that I have lost theyre not replacing. The seven or eight days of missed work (that I didnt get paid for) too bad theres no compensation. The time Ive spent complaining taking pictures and documenting the neglect and defects and telling them has been in vain because they keep saying your only option is for us to keep sending repairmen and replacing parts; were sorry youre having a problem.Well if youre sorry make a decent product that people do not have to go through hell after theyve spent a fortune purchasing their brand refrigerator. My money is now in KitchenAid pocket and they refused to replace my lemon refrigerator nor give me customer satisfaction thus far. I will have to keep taking off work and work with repairmen unless I resort to hire an attorney to save myself time and aggravation. Ive asked them to give me a new refrigerator and they wont do it.

We bought our KUDS301XWH6 dishwasher in the spring of 2012, and we have had nothing but trouble. Two wheels on the top rack have broken off, and the control panel only works when it wants to. Even flipping the switch on the circuit breaker doesnt work most of the time. Like others, we bought this *more expensive* machine because we wanted to buy an American-made product, and because we grew up with KitchenAid dishwashers that lasted, problem-free, for decades. KitchenAid is coasting on the reputation earned many years ago, but their reputation will change as more people learn of their current line of shoddy, overpriced products. We will never buy a KitchenAid product again.

I bought a higher end KitchenAid Dishwasher model W10502124A. It is almost 2 years old. I started having trouble with it after I used it for about a year. I took out the racks and got a flashlight inside the tub. It was covered with mold, grease and food residue. I took the spinner and cover off and cleaned the filter. It was somewhat dirty, so I cleaned out everything. I disinfected everything and put it back together. About 3 months later, I took out the racks again. The inside was covered in filth, grease and mold. I took it apart again and took out the food chopper assembly.First of all the food chopper was jammed into the opening, so it would have been impossible for it to even turn the blades. When I disassembled the unit, it appeared (I am not a professional repair person) that one of the arms that hold the shaft in the plastic assembly was broken off. I put the unit back together as well as I could. At least the blade could turn now. Its been about 2 months and there is powder residue left in my top rack, the dishes are not getting clean and I have finally summoned a repairman. I did contact KitchenAid and their cheerful reply was you need to call a professional repairman.

Why is it so difficult to make dependable products these days? We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in January 2013 and the control panel went out twice within the first year and now it is out again and the dishwasher will not run. The model number according to the inside of the machine is W10502126A. Now I just purchased a one year parts/labor warranty which was not cheap to have them come out to replace the panel. I bought the warranty because something tells me this is not a permanent fix rather a band aid as I think it will go out again before the year is up. Expensively made cheap product.

I purchased two of the same KitchenAid Dishwashers (KDTE204) in September of 2015. The first one began leaking in March 2019 and was repaired by the repair company that KitchenAid referred me to. This $405 repair bill. In November 2019, the second dishwasher began leaking. In between the time I placed the service call for the second dishwasher and the repair man coming, the first dishwasher began leaking again. When the repair man came out, he indicated that the repair would be $435 for each dishwasher. The price of repairing the first dishwasher twice would be $840 and the price of repairing the second is $405.When I called customer service at KitchenAid they said we cannot control when a product fails and offered me $185 toward parts for repairing the first dishwasher again. I spent an hour on the phone and spoke with three different customer service people. None of whom seemed to think a dishwasher should last longer than a year. So if you plan to throw out your dishwasher every few years, then by all means get a KitchenAid but if you want one that will last, you should definitely look elsewhere.

This is a good looking, rather expensive refrigerator. It has a very well styled and functional interior; more room than I anticipated and much easier to store things neatly in freezer than my last side by side. The major disappointment is the drawers in the refrigerator part. They are so flimsy that they came apart and had to be taken out and put back together after using a short time. This was extremely disappointing since the rest of this appliance is sturdy, well thought out and beautifully styled. What were they thinking? I am very careful dealing with opening and closing filled drawers so they dont come apart again. I would certainly make checking out how well the drawers were made a priority when buying a new refrigerator. Something I would never have thought of before.

The refrigerator freezer leaks water and then builds block of ice - have to remove every 3 weeks. The dishwasher, the door that soap is place in wont open making the soap not dissolve - has been replace once before. The caddy where the silverware is place into is all corroded making holes on the caddy pieces fall off. The stove door has fallen - have to unscrew the doors due to the style of the appliance. Food, grease falls in between the door and glass due to vents. The stainless steel which it is not stainless as they say is a poor type of metal that the appliance look smear all the time. I am able to stick door magnets on the door. Kitchen Aid will not take care of problem. All they say is, Unfortunately the appliance are 3 years old, but the problem is ongoing since the first month of purchase.

In May of 2017 my husband and I moved in to our newly built home. We purchased KitchenAid appliances. A dishwasher, a refrigerator and a stove. Shortly after they arrived I noticed that there were dents in the freezer door. They came to replace it. Then we noticed rust forming on the outside of the refrigerator. We had someone come and check it out. He told me to polish it more. That didnt change it in anyway. He came back out and said they will replace the doors. They ordered new ones. In the interim the new freezer door was getting rust on it. Then the compressor and the thermostat went out. They came to fix that problem. Now we are getting new doors and then they need to replace the freezer door. Now after all of this, the dishwasher is rusting. Our KitchenAid appliances have only been in our house for 4 and half months. I called the company, I called the place where we purchased them to replace them to no avail. We need help. We spent our hard earned money on a faulty product.

We did a total kitchen remodel and included a dishwashing machine, which the house never had before. We sprung for the higher end stainless steel tub KitchenAid KDFE104DSS1 (2016). 3 months later the machine stopped moving water, but could still drain. Warranty phone call... repair tech does two visits... one for diagnosis and one for part install (new pump). Up and running. 5 months later same deal. Another warranty call and two visits... back up and running. Now I notice the rusting slide rails for the upper deck. Now into the out of warranty mode and the pump fails again.Going shopping today for a cheaper machine... putting the KitchenAid trash out on the curb for the recycle guy. BTW there were intermittent events for soap dispenser door not opening. (No dishes in the way.) Food pieces splashed around hanging on the walls... and then theres the smell. This model likes to hold used water between washes and after just one day of no use, OMG what a stank.

KitchenAid sent Diamond Factory Service to take a look at it. I bought the KDTM604 top of the line dishwasher on July 26, 2020 from Lowes. I spent good money and had to wait forever. Well I am sitting here today writing a review because two weeks ago it broke and the service man was just able to come check it. So the pump is already broken. Before you wonder I must say, I am single so I do not use my dishwasher a lot and I do not use the highest setting. I use all the products they told me to use including the all important RinseAid (which I do love). So if you do buy this product get an extended warranty, but I would just not buy this product.

While still under warranty, the dishwasher circuit panel no longer operated. No lights and did not turn on. I called the recommend repair service and was told it would be too costly to replace the control panel and to buy a new dishwasher. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn off the circuit breaker that provides power to the dishwasher. This works but must be turned off after each use. If I dont turn it off immediately after using it and try and do it later, it takes days before it operates again and the circuit panel must be off during the wait.

We bought the Kitchenaid combination microwave/convection oven in 2017. Our problem with the unit is a faulty door latch, that apparently is a manufacturing flaw which Kitchenaid is not addressing. Sometimes as we attempt to use the microwave, we get a message that says open/close door. This is an indication that the latch portion that is in the unit (not the door) recedes back into the unit. We have had a repair man come twice to fix the problem, with a standard $89 fee that Kitchenaid does not recognize as covered under warranty. The second time he came, he told us he gets many calls for this problem, and showed us how to fix it ourselves to avoid the service call. It is a 30 minute nuisance to get into the panel for a temporary fix. We are disappointed that Kitchenaid would sell a product that is destined to malfunction repeatedly. We are hopeful they will stand behind their good reputation and fix this manufacturers error.

My experience with the KitchenAid Company was awful. I purchased a high end refrigerator with a 5 year warranty. The icemaker and freezer at the bottom broken. No ice is producing and the freezer is not keeping food frozen The repairmen came in three times to fix this problem. Three different times, not fixable. They actually said this refrigerator cannot be repaired. Called Kitchenaid and they advised me that they will give me 10 or 15% off of a new refrigerator. Then I spoke to another supervisor and he said the best he can do is give me 35% off of a new refrigerator. So what they are telling me is that I can spend another $4500.00 on a new refrigerator because that is what it would cost me with the discount, so they can do this to me again when the second one breaks.I told them that they are not standing behind their product and they indicated to me that is the best they can do. What the heck does that mean. The best they can do. Why would I purchase another Kitchenaid product when they cannot stand behind their product. If they dont do something about this issue, I will never buy another kitchenaid product and either will anyone else because I am the news media. I know how to get around this whole community. I am so angry. I have a warranty and my refrigerator is broken and no one is doing anything about this issue. Kitchenaid has to do the right thing.

While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

I have had problems with my KitchenAid gas range right out of the box. I purchased it for $2500 about 4 years ago. Just after the first year, self-igniting elements failed, so I phoned customer service - the worst customer service I have ever experienced! In short, a $500 repair bill to have a tech repair the problem. I have been using a lighter ever since! The convention oven worked 50% of the time. After one year, I finally have to go buy a new oven after only 4 years because the pilot failed to ignite the gas oven - very dangerous part to fail. I will never buy another KitchenAid product as long as I live. KichenAid Brand is owned by Whirlpool, and I will purchase any product Whirlpool sells. I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had a multitude of problems with the unit ranging from a broken ice maker, frost causing a leak from the freezer, but most frustrating is a repeated problem that the refrigerator will not cool appropriately. I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. At this point Ive spent close to an additional $1000.00 for a refrigerator that is 4 years old. This had led me to boycott any future KitchenAid or related company products.

We have had a French Door fridge by KitchenAid in March 2019. Today is the third service call on the freezer filling with frost, and the ice maker, which pours ice out at an unbelievable volume constantly. The ice maker has now been replaced twice, and the technician tried to blame me for its malfunctioning (because I love taking time off work to hang out with him, I guess?). The door has rust spots all over it (which he has used my baking soda and vinegar to attempt to clean), and he told me today that part of the motor sounds like its going to need to be replaced, too. Customer service is like a Kafka story...theres no way to replace what is clearly a defective item until its deemed unrepairable, but theres also no rule about how many repairs/replacements will deem something unrepairable. I just know my warranty will end up running out before they replace the item. Im so deeply disappointed because something like a brand new fridge doesnt make it into my life very often, and thinking that Ive wasted my money on a clunker that will continue now to waste my time & money is heartbreaking. I wish the company will take responsibility for their product and stand behind it when it doesnt work properly.

I bought my french door bottom mount refrigerator in 2013. I have started having issues with the freezer and ice maker. The technician who came to check the fridge told me that this is a very common problem with KitchenAid. We have to pay $390.00 for labor and if the parts are not covered in extended warranty pay for that too. Our extended warranty ran out in 2018. We were also told that the dye leaks and it will have to be replaced every 4 or 6 months. I am annoyed at the expense this fridge is going to cost us. I called the appliance pros for KitchenAid and they did not help in any way. They are very rude and nobody knows anything there. They went on telling me, “We dont know how things work in Canada.” Well why then are you selling appliances in Canada. They know how to give customers a runaround and beat about the bush. I would not recommend this fridge to anybody. Please buy a fridge by a company which stands behind its product.

We purchased this refrigerator, along with an entire line of KitchenAid app
We purchased this refrigerator, along with an entire line of KitchenAid appliances (dishwasher, stove, microwave, even a toaster oven). It has been a disaster since day one. The doors have never aligned correctly (as seen reviewed before) and the ice maker stopped working early on and water ran and ruined my wood floor (as reviewed before). But, the main problem is with the coils in the refrigerator that consistently ice up, allowing no air flow, therefore no cooling (which has been reviewed before). Obviously, this leads to spoiling food, which we have replaced numerous times due to the problem. Now, we keep a thermometer in it at all times, so once we see it start getting warmer, we have to take apart the refrigerator to defrost the ice that has covered the coils. We have had this problem serviced four or five times. Each time replacing various parts... the last time pretty much replacing EVERYTHING INTERNALLY.The service techs admit this is a problem, due to the dual compressor KitchenAid tried to do with this model. Even store salespeople admit it didnt work and has been changed. Well, enough is enough. I want a new refrigerator, not a replacement, not any more service calls. But, I have been told that I need to wait until it fails again, then call customer service again to report the problem. Someone will have to come out again and assess the problem... Should I just leave the rancid food in there for them to take back to KitchenAid with them once they come? Come on KitchenAid... read the file. Its all there in black and white... every single service call. Time to fess up and fix the problem, with a NEW refrigerator.

We wanted a good quality and because we had heard good things about KitchenAid, that is what we looked at. After doing some research, we decided to purchase our entire kitchen appliances and to go with the KitchenAid. The first month we had our dual fuel convection range, the lights went out in the oven. We called the recommended service tech and he replaced them. A short time later (approx. three months) the lights once again burned out, and again we called the tech and he once again replaced them. At that time, the oven also was not working and he said it needed a new motherboard and replaced it. Now several months later once again, the stove is not working and once again the lights are out, again. We bought the recommended extended warranty only to find out you have outsourced it to a company that will not cover the stove under the warranty because it could have been a power surge? I will never purchase another product from the Whirlpool company. Because if you cant fix it, what is the sense in having it? We spent $3,300 for this stove and cant use it. What do you recommend?

I always bought KitchenAid for my appliances. I bought it on Nov. 2004. I had the Service Saver Agreement until 2005. On Jan 2005, the microwave glass door exploded for the first time. We replaced the glass with their service rep, Allstate Factory Service, for $400. On Nov 2005, the same glass exploded again, another $400 to replace it. We replaced the glass with their rep from Appliance Expert Appliance Repair. For the Third time on March 05 2012, the glass exploded again. The microwave glass door always exploded when was not in operation. We already spent $800 replacing the microwave glass door for a microwave that should work fine at the first place. We never experienced such a bad performance by any KitchenAid products before. I have to assume that the Range Oven/Microwave that I bought has a defect from manufacture, faulty and represent a safety hazard. Maybe they should have issue a recall of this model. But to tell you the truth, we feel scared about this product. We know it will cause an explosion or a fire or glass will start flying in the air, etc. We expecting to obtain a replacement since the unit never work properly and represent a safety hazard.

Drops temperature very quickly.Right now it has been working poorly for over close to a year and we have spent about US$1,500 in new parts and still not working properly. Very cheaply made inside, always frosting up, wire baskets in the freezer part are all rusty. Need to try one more repairmen and if he cannot fix it have to throw out a fridge that looks perfectly NEW from the outside. The dishwasher arrived without a handle and we had to argue with Fergusons and KitchenAid to get the handle as if it was an option on the dishwasher. Has never worked properly and was only used about 25 times and just gave up on it.KitchenAid Double wall Oven KEBC208KSS0, worked well until about 18 months ago. Stopped heating properly and cannot find any repairman that can tell me what is wrong. Looks perfectly new from the outside. Note: all these appliances are stainless steel. Bought a food processor the other day 12 qt and it was never working from the start and had to return it. When I returned it found out that many are returned for the same reason. KitchenAid is a pathetic company. They should be ashamed to even call themselves an appliance company. Furnished my entire kitchen with stainless steel KitchenAid appliances and out of the fridge, double wall oven, dishwasher and hob cooker (total about US$10,000), after 7 years ONLY the hob cooker is working (and what can go wrong with that?). Another point, our goods had to be shipped overseas. We are convinced that retail outlets in the USA ship out defective goods especially in Florida where exports to Caribbean and South/Central America are high. Defective merchandise is sent to our region because guess what? Warranties are not applicable when the goods are taken out of the USA. I am happy to send you copies of the bills for all the items and reams of correspondence with Fergusons.Updated on 12/7/2015: I have exhausted all attempts to try and repair a KitchenAid Fridge we purchased at Ferguson Enterprises, Inc, Tamarac, Florida. 24.7 CF Architectural Designed SXS Fridge. Model number#KKSSC42FKS. At the time that we purchased the KitchenAid appliances, we wanted quality products as the items were being shipped to the Caribbean. We thought the KitchenAid brand was considered a quality product. We paid $4,741 for the fridge (excluding shipping and duties and taxes in our country). With all due respect to KitchenAid, the products we purchased appear like quality appliances. All are stainless steel with an excellent finish. That is the dilemma. The fridge looks brand new on the outside, but for the last year it has not been working. It is still in my kitchen as it is built into the kitchen wall and as I already stated it looks perfect from the outside. The big problem is that try as we may, we cannot get the part that is needed for this fridge. I have had 2 parts shipped to me at considerable expense and both are not the right part. Our technician who knows KitchenAid appliances says that we are getting the part for a new model and we need the part for the old model. PART REQUIRED: KitchenAid fridge, Model KSSC42FKSO1. Serial #QM4308660. Power supply board #10155702BO 19/0ct/04. EU 1156 02. These are the numbers that I got off the board. The board goes into a case and the case has written on it: Embraco EU 1556 02B 04. Compressor Electronic Control Unit - UCC2. The first part we purchased was from Angel Appliances. They sent me the part which as we have already said was the wrong part as it is for a new model. It was sent back to them. We have a purchasing agent in Florida who went direct to the KitchenAid factory for the part and it is still the wrong part, actually the same part that I got from Angel Appliances in California. I had a young lady on Skype from KitchenAid parts department the other day and she is the first person to tell me outright that the part I want is no longer manufactured for the old model fridges. She then went on to say that the new part that was sent to us is supposed to fit the fridge that we have. When I explained that the technician says that it does not, she then said that is probably needs some adjustment. When I asked what kind of adjustment? The line went dead. This is a typical trick. As soon as the question gets uncomfortable they hang up on you pleading the line went dead. I did not want to go back but this fridge has been a white elephant right from the start. It arrived in a beautiful crate but when it was unpacked it was not working. It had no Freon. When it started working the ice maker did not work. It took us forever to get the company we bought it from Fergusons to send us a new part for the ice maker at their cost. Then in 2009 we needed an electronic board and had to search for months before we got it from Marcone Supply Appliance, in Miami, Florida. I have had to replace the defrost heater, evaporator motor, all the rubber seal around the doors, only to name a few. This fridge is down continually and I hate to say but the mechanics for the working of the fridge is a terrible quality. Of course, warranties given in the USA fail to work in the Caribbean as the excuse is the appliance has been taken out of the country. So we are left with an appliance that looks perfect but for which we cannot get a part. I love the look of the fridge, its size and its capacity. However, the length of time it takes us to get parts that work and that fit the fridge make it a living nightmare. Yet, why should we have to throw it out? It makes absolutely no sense. Also how can your company justify not making parts for a fridge that is 12 years old? Is there anybody anywhere that can resolve this matter because we absolutely have no idea what to do other than throw the fridge out?

I purchased an Architect Series II gas range in July 2009. The range is in a home that is inhabited only part time and has not been used much. In fact, it has probably been used a total of twelve times in two years. The first time that I used the self-clean function, the digital control panel went blank and the oven door remained locked. This occurred after about 1.5 hours of the self-clean cycle. I have researched this issue and discovered that it is an exceedingly common defect. Although this is marketed as a self-clean oven, it can never be self-cleaned without the risk of damaging a fuse that controls the control panel. When I contacted KitchenAid, they acknowledged that this defect has been recognized and repaired, but that my model and serial number do not fall within the recognized group of defective products. My product is an Architect Series II gas range. The numbers associated with it are KGRS807SSS and XY0202920. I have attempted to get KitchenAid to address the problem, but, as described above, they claim that my product falls outside the range of those that are defective. My problem is purely coincidental, although there are many similar complaints regarding the same product listed here.

I bought the French doors refrigerator just 6 months ago and right away the fan was very noisy. Now 6 months in the temperature reading shows 125 on the freezer but yet it is freezing everything not just in the freezer but the fridge compartment. Called customer service and they took a week to send someone who just kept saying it’s the computer board. Even a non-technical person like me knew it was a thermostat issue. Takes another 10 days to come back with the new board and installs it and leaves. Nothing changed so I called back and then took another week to come back to test. Admits it’s the thermostat and says will order the part. 3 weeks after still no part and just fake promises, they are working on getting a thermostat. 5 weeks no working fridge and no sign of it being fixed or compensated for it or even replacement fridge. I actually don’t even want their garbage fridge or their lousy customer service! Just want my 5000 back. Do not get any Kitchen Aid appliances. They will give you a runaround.

After looking at various makes and models of ovens online, we purchased/ordered our KitchenAid wall oven (KEBS107) back in August 2012, waiting for over 2 months for the actual delivery of the new oven. Over the next year and a half, we had occasional issues with the oven not heating properly - sometimes it would pre-heat quickly - sometimes it would seem to take a very long time to reach the desired temperature - especially if I was needing to change the temperature during use. After 16 months of use, the thermal fuse had to be replaced. Apparently the oven door has to be closed at ALL times, especially when broiling. Now, after two years of use, the oven is acting up once again and not heating properly. I purchased an oven thermometer to verify this. KitchenAid is going to cover this 2nd repair, even though I was told that my ESP was not currently in effect (which is another frustrating story that I wont go into). I am thinking at this point that there is a major design flaw with this appliance. Having any sort of electronic/module located just over the opening of an appliance that can get very hot was probably not a good idea. If I cant open the door of a hot oven to check on or remove the contents inside, what good is it????? This oven has been nothing but frustrating pretty much since we bought it!

We built a brand new house in 2011/12. New house means all new appliances. Our KUDS30IXSS6 from Sears seemed like a great product at first. So quiet you sometimes didnt even realize it was on. But then the wheels of the top rack broke off one by one. I realized my brand new Hickory floor boards were beginning to warp - the leak apparently inviting a colony of ANTS to live under my dishwasher!!! And the control panel would stop working from time to time, only to magically start working again after a week or two - just as I was about to call in a repairman. Well it has stopped working again and after reading countless stories of people with the same exact experiences as mine, Im not going to waste my money getting it fixed because according to the reports of others it will only happen again and again. This dishwasher is only 3 years old!! Within the first few months the problems started. A $900+ dishwasher that is worth nothing but a headache.

Purchased a KUDS30IXBL4 dishwasher. One year later it stopped working. Under warranty. $125 later repairman shows up, takes one look at the dishwasher and tells me hell be right back. He doesnt even touch it. He comes in with a new control panel and has it working in 10 minutes. So many of these fail that we keep them stocked on the truck now. Oh, and the worst thing is that the original is warrantied for 3 years, but now that you have a replacement part in it is only warrantied for 90 days. He warned me that I would have problems down the road. One year later and guess what? My 90 day warranty long expired, the control panel has just failed again. It is cheaper to order the part and change it myself. I bought Kitchen Aid because of the brand reputation and quality. Now I know where the AID comes from in the name. Never again.

I bought this KitchenAid dishwasher thinking maybe it would last more than 6 or 7 years like the other brands Ive had. This one actually needed a repair before it hit the 4 year mark! Needed a new computer - of course the part was under warranty (five year) but the service call and labor were not. Spent $155.00 to have the part replaced. I also had to replace the upper rack after approx. 1 1/2 years. Ive had cheaper brands that have lasted longer without repair so next time I know better - Ill stick to the lower end brands as there seems to be no difference in the quality anymore. Disappointed!!!

I renovated my kitchen a year ago. I insisted on two KitchenAid dishwashers as I had had great success with them in the past (still own an older model that I love). A month after installation, I called for service because the dishes were not drying and the wash cycle was taking 4.5 hours. First technician told me I need to use particular detergent and rinse product. This did not fix the problems. Second technician told me the same and reconfirmed that these new machines dont dry like the older ones did. What happened to the HEATING ELEMENT everyone mentions that dries the dishes? Third technician told me not to use SANI RINSE. This reduced the cycle time from 4.5 to 4 hours. Fourth technician (2) told me that it needed a part, so I made an appointment to have that part installed. On the day of the appointment, the fourth technician did not show and instead, his service manager came to inform me that no parts would be installed. He said I need to run the hot water in the sink adjacent to the machine before using and that this is just how the new machines are made. I pointed out that my hot water heater is about 20 feet away from the sink, so hot water is not an issue. I then had him hold his hand under the faucet to show how fast hot water comes to this area. Took all of 2-3 seconds. He was very insistent that this is just the new machines being made and there is nothing he can do about it or fix it. Did not even try. I am appalled at KitchenAid, their products and high costs (each of my 2 identical machines cost almost $2000), their warranties (and extended warranties paid for, I remind you), the manner with which they casually dismiss their consumers. No loyalty to long time customers. If I had it to do over, I would stay far away from KitchenAid. Maybe we can get Arnold Diaz involved?

Purchased a KitchenAid Dishwasher 4 years ago and have had trouble with it beginning 2 months after purchase. It flooded my kitchen due to a faulty water valve. With it under warranty the repairman states, I have seen this on all of these and they know it is happening and continue to put the faulty valves on these dishwashers. Then within a year the bottom rack wheels came off and did this on 2 occasions. Then all the front panel light went out about 6 months later. 6 months ago the top rack fell off (wheels & welds broke and were rusty) onto the bottom rack full of dishes with several glasses. Last night I started up the machine with no water intake and nothing occurred except the smell of wires burning. I will be purchasing a new dishwasher and it will not be a KitchenAid nor Whirlpool! Totally giving KitchenAid and Whirlpool a 0 rating.

In the first six months of owning it the circuit board went out then it stopped working again right after the warranty ran out. Had a service man come out to fix it. A wire burn in half in the panel that lasted a few months and again the board has gone out. My service guy said wed be better off buying another dishwasher without the touch controls because the boards are always going out in them due to bad design. Thought KitchenAid was a great brand maybe for mixers but not dishwashers.

We uninstalled the dishwasher and noticed the panel was delaminating opposite the vent on the dishwasher. We called for service and they looked at the problem. And after they called KitchenAid, they said there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher and the vent could not leak steam because it was only open when the water was filling to vent the pressure and because of the weight of the small plastic door, it could not let steam out. We contacted Hhgregg where we purchased and not much help. This product is under warranty; definitely a design problem and a company who is not willing to look into or correct it.

However we continue to have some food residue on dishes and cutlery and need to re-wash them. We have purchased other dishwashers in the past that were less expensive but clearly better quality. We have had a lot of problems with this microwave. The door locks and does not open (happened twice! I had to take it apart to replace the plastic mechanism). The light bulb burned out. This is NOT a consumer serviceable item! (Im a licensed electrical engineer; I think I can replace a light bulb without getting shocked by the capacitor!) I found one online and fixed it. The latest problem is the microwave runs with the door open! It happened earlier today. Then it worked fine, but it just happened again! We put something in and started it and then it timed out and stopped. We opened the door and it started running again. This is DANGEROUS! I have small children and the microwave is mounted below the counter! I dont want my children getting hurt by this hazardous device! I purchased the KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM704ESS0, for around $1400 in 2015. After three years of light use (there are only two of us) the wash motor seized up and needs to be replaced at a cost of $500-$600. I called KitchenAid and they told me the motor was no longer in warranty so they would do nothing. This is my fourth KitchenAid dishwasher in forty years. None of my other KitchenAid dishwashers have ever needed a repair of any sort. In fact, I have never even had a service call on any of my other KitchenAid dishwashers. The previous dishwashers were replaced due to kitchen remodeling or upgrading, not because they stopped working. I cannot believe that a main component of this expensive dishwasher would last only three years. I would think twice about buying a new KitchenAid. I know two other people who have had their KitchenAid dishwasher motors fail after only approximately three years. Sad that the KitchenAid quality isnt there anymore! Also sad that the company is OK with a customer spending $1400 and having the product last for only three years!

I purchased this stove because it had a very large oven and I bake. Two weeks after installation I realized when I leaned up to get something from the cabinet above the stove I turned on burners, sometimes just enough for a gas leak and sometimes enough to burn my arm. First problem with design. A month later at Thanksgiving the turkey was in the oven and my grandson touched a knob with his arm and actually burned it. Thats how hot the knob. I see were due to a vent directly below them. Second design flaw.Later that afternoon. We realized the turkey wasnt getting done. Oven turned off by itself. Luckily I have a second oven. Very nice competent repairman (outsourced) checked the temperature of the knobs and they came in two degrees under government top number. He replaced an oven valve. This valve was replaced three times before the oven would function without failing. I took these safety and oven problems up with KitchenAid only to be told they were within government standards and be glad I bought a warrant for the oven. Cold, disrespectful and dismissive people. We purchased a KitchenAid wall oven KEBS107SSS in March 2012. This oven does not turn off and just keeps hot air blowing into the kitchen for at least an hour or longer after pushing the off button. The sales person at the high end appliance store we purchased it from said to turn off the power to the oven, which we did as it had a dedicated breaker switch. Then the oven just latched automatically, wouldnt open, and had a nice error message on the screen. Took the repairman over two weeks to get the part to fix the latch as he said that was the problem.... thats why the oven doesnt turn off efficiently??? I cant get anyone from KitchenAid to even answer my phone calls and I truly dont think the repairman has a clue as to why this oven wont turn off. Do not buy a KitchenAid oven. Our KitchenAid refrigerator has had a host of issues since we bought it. The main current issue is ice buildup at the bottom of the freezer, which has created huge puddles that have warped our wood floor. The issue is a plugged defrost drain line. KitchenAid knows about this issue, as there is a published workaround and a new part to replace the too narrow, easily plugged drain line. I havent bothered to call them because its out of warranty, and they are sticklers for their 1-year warranty. Also about 9 months after I bought it, I noticed rust starting on the stainless steel door. It was caused by a faulty heating unit in the French doors, which was causing moisture buildup along the inside of the doors. KitchenAid sent a tech out to fix it for free. BUT the rust was not covered by warranty at all (Theres a 30-day warranty for cosmetic issues, never mind that the cosmetic issue was caused by an equipment failure).

About 8 years ago, we upgraded our kitchen and bought all new KitchenAid appliances. Since then, every appliance has had issues. Microwave (KHMS155LSS), weve had to replace the face plates (all of them) at least once because the cheap plastic latches broke. Dishwasher (KUDS01FLSS), the spring holding the door has broken twice so that the door flies open and bruises any body parts in the way. Hand mixer (Classic Plus 5), less than 1 year after purchasing, one of the beaters separated (has been fine since we replaced it though). Stand mixer (KSM9O), the cover over the motor doesnt stay close and easily pulls open if you touch it. Oven/Stove (Superba Range), the final straw, I was baking potatoes tonight and the oven shut off and locked shut with my potatoes inside. I cannot open the door. I tried all the things I saw on the internet and its still locked with my potatoes inside. Im going to replace it with a non-KitchenAid appliance ASAP!

We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator KFXS25RYMS and had it delivered to our summer home in Wildwood NJ. The thing never made ice and after having 4 visits from 2 different service companies the summer ended still without making ice. We called them back the next spring (house was winterize during winter months) and guess what? The warranty had expired. I had to buy a separate ice maker (not KitchenAid) so we could have ice. Now this year it has water coming from bottom. We called different service company and it needs a heater!!! My advise would be never buy a KitchenAid.

Its not enough to say - I will never use another Kitchen Aid appliance, or - Ill tell all my friends to never buy this product!!!!!! If you have purchased a Kitchen Aid dishwasher with its cheap plastic material, that when heated by the heating elements become weak and crumble apart, you need to know that this is very wrong and against the laws and rights of anyone who purchased this product. That means that it is your duty to call the Whirlpool complaints department and let them know that they have broken the law!!! And that you wont stand for it. I have called and asked to speak with the highest level (supervisor). She asked me for my full name, phone # and address. I asked her a few questions: 1) Where are the dishwasher manufactured (not assembled)? She did not know. 2) What is the plastic made of (knowing that she would not know) asked then can answer these question for me, she did not know. 3) Why are there so many Model #s for the same dishwasher? She said only the manufacturer can answer that question (and she has no idea who that is). I told her that on the Consumer Affairs website, there are 548 complaints on the same or similar issues that I am having with my 1 & half yr old dishwasher. I explained to her that when the plastic gets hot, it weakens and parts start to break off. I was told that they have not had any complaints. I gave her the website and asked her what she was going to do about it. She said she would record the information then pass it on to her supervisor (who I had already spoken with and was told that there was nothing she could to for me). I said that I would like her to email me a copy of that report. She explained that that was not possible. I asked her for her name. She replied - Kathy. I asked her for her last name and she refused. I asked for a phone number where she could be reached and she refused and said it was against company policy. I replied by saying - Kathy, did you ask me for my last name, address and phone # when I called? (yes). I finished the conversation by saying - Kathy, you get to hide behind your comfy, corporate desk protected... while the rest of us get to buy your plastic crap and have no way of getting any compensation. Thank You Kathy!!! I am now in the process of taking Whirlpool to court. I have all the proof I need to prove that Whirlpool is negligent. Im not doing this to have my dishwasher repaired for free parts included (which the company Corbeil where I purchased the dishwasher has agreed to do). I am doing this because it is the right thing to do and I wish more people would do the same...
