After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears on 6/11. This was model KUDS30FSSX2. In November of 12, wheels came off the upper rack and soon after, the motor wouldnt start. It would hum and then not go further in cycle. We had a repairman look at it. He said the motor was bad and that KitchenAid would not replace it. We paid for a replacement (about $400). The wheels on the upper rack were replaced after we complained to Whirlpool. There was never one trip here. They had to call for parts which were sent in about a week. Now, the motor will again not start and we are waiting to get help again. We never talk to the same person twice. The reports above match our experience. This is the same experience we had many years ago with our SAAB auto. They of course are now out of business and their employees lost their jobs. Im sure the execs were well compensated. KitchenAid and their owner, Whirlpool, are headed for the same future. I feel sorry for the employees, but this is what will happen when quality and buyer satisfaction no longer counts. Needless to say, we will never purchase another KitchenAid product or a Whirlpool made product which are marketed under names like Kenmore, etc. Sears too has been no help.

Garbage refrigerators, stick to that mixer. $3200 junk. Had it for three years now and have spent thousands between fixing this worthless piece of garbage and throwing out spoiled food. KitchenAid just finds different ways of avoiding backing their product. I tell everyone when I get the opportunity to avoid Kitchenaid fridges. Mostly because they dont honor their warranty, which was in the neighborhood of $700 as well.

We purchased this KitchenAid Household Ref. from Lowes. 4 1/2 months of owning it there started a loud clicking noise from the back of the unit, ice built up in the veggie drawer that it couldnt shut, and water from the left side of the ref. dripping down into the two shelving parts. Once the door is open along the way the water runs out onto my floor. On the way to close MORE water runs onto the floor and then down the front of the freezer that is on the bottom. Since the issue we have had KitchenAids preferred service AAA out of Howell MI come out for 3 different service calls. Each time I am told, The problem is fixed and you will have no more water leaking. I have white water stains in my trays and the stain on the front of the ref. due to the leaks and sitting water. After calling again today because it is STILL leaking I spoke with Melinda (Customer Service) with all she could offer me was at first a service call at my cost then returned with a no cost, I spoke to Tim (Supervisor for KitchenAid Tennessee office) who explained there was not a thing anyone could to but another service call. Who is going to pay for ANOTHER day off of work? This will be the 4th time I have had to take a day off of work for repairs to this refrigerator. A consumer should NOT have to clean up a water mess every time the unit is opened and the water streak down the front is not appealing. This is obviously an issue with the unit. I asked for the unit to be exchanged with the SAME unit and I was told that You would be eligible for a replacement at a discounted price. Are you serious? I already paid the full price for this unit.Something has to be done to not allow consumers to be buying nonworking items and costing more than the unit itself. I have bought many KitchenAid items and I will never buy again since this incident. The do not stand by the product but keep sending service people who either cant fix the problem or the problem is simply NOT fixable.

Well for the send time our expensive KitchenAid Built-in Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer Failed. It is almost 10 years old. The refrigerator repairmen from Judd and Black Electric arrived about 12:00 and fussed around with our fridge for an hour. In my opinion they didnt have a clue really and ** thought they were rude. At the end of the process they said the main control module was out, KitchenAid didnt make the part, it wasnt available anymore and they couldnt fix the KitchenAid KSSC48QMS01 side by side built in refrigerator. Period. They said that Core Centric could rebuild the control board but they didnt offer to take it out or send it in to Core Centric. The entire afternoon I researched the issue and learned that there are several companies that will rebuild the control board for about $100, found a YouTube Video on how to remove it and learned the serial number (W10219463-119) of the offending part. I will NEVER buy a KichenAid product again.

On August 13, 2012 we purchased a French door refrigerator made by Kitchen Aid. 10 months later we were seeing water running down the inside door from the ice maker. I called the company and they sent out technician to fix it who didnt seem like he knew what he was doing. He made several phone calls to ask questions about the repair. After he left my refrigerator was working properly so I was satisfied. Meanwhile, my neighbors were looking to get a new refrigerator and loved the look of mine so they purchased the same model. Months later my neighbor called me complaining of water leaking from her ice maker. They had to have it repaired but then a couple months later she told me their freezer stopped working and they lost hundreds of dollars of food. She called Kitchen Aid to come repair it for a second time. My husband and I went on vacation and we returned home to find our freezer stopped working while we were gone and lost all of our food. When I called Kitchen Aid they informed me I was two months past my warranty and since I didnt buy an extended warranty (which I didnt think I would need to on a fridge that cost almost $3000.00) there was nothing they could do. It could be repaired but at my cost. After a very heated discussion and much screaming on my end about their inferior product I got them to agree to fix it at their cost. I am sitting here now while a repairman is here and he is running dye through the lines to find the problem. He has informed me that it will be at least a couple of weeks until this is fixed. Meanwhile I have no working freezer and have a family to feed. I called Kitchen Aid again to see if they could do something and the womans response was there was nothing they could do and she actually suggested that I leave food in a friends freezer! I googled complaints against Kitchen Aid and was shocked to say the least. It seems they are known for these problems and customer service is not their strong suit. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid appliance again and will tell everyone who will listen about my experience.

Our family has had problems with this microwave since we purchased in 2007. Realizing that recent history has proven manufacturers of some appliances cut overhead by skimping on parts made overseas, I assumed KitchenAid was a safe bet. I could not however have been more mistaken. I am what is considered a journeyman carpenter, mechanic, electrician and DIYer. So I assumed, again, mounting our new microwave should not have been space shuttle science. I was shocked and surprised to see how fragile the front intake grill design really was especially coming from a reputable company such as KitchenAid. If youre not extremely careful just mounting the intake grill where its supposed to attach could result in undue stress to the plastic tabs and cause them to break. The operative word being plastic unfortunately, not the real metal it is made to look or function as. Why were these at least not reinforced? About eight months later the main control board started giving us grief. Sometimes it would lock up or beep for no reason and other times would work fine. We lived with that for some time until the handle broke after a year and a half of normal use. By the looks of it, it seems the proximity of the heat from items being cooked caused it to crack mostly near the top where the handle is mounted, again causing stress fractures and ultimately causing the failure. I have been the sole provider for my family so money was something we cant be frivolous with. Weve ended up having to unplug the unit due to issues with the main control board. I am now in the market for another microwave and I will not buy another KitchenAid product. Unfortunately for my wife who has to match styles (since the range is also KitchenAid), this wont be an easy task. Ive always thought highly of this brand but I guess this new generation of people in manufacturing isnt what they used to be. Signed, DISSATISFIED CONSUMER.

We purchased model KDTE104DSSO November 29, 2014. It was professionally installed and cleaned everything beautifully until this summer. We called Whirlpool and were directed to their service provider under the warranty plan. The technician has been here 4 weeks in a row and still the dishwasher does not work. Our concern is it will be out of warranty in 2 months. I spoke with a customer service rep who had the audacity to offer me an extended warranty! I intend to file a complaint with our county consumer affairs office.

KitchenAid has been my go to appliance ever since the first used dishwasher I purchased 30+ years ago, still working when I finally decided to upgrade it after 20+ years. I had it for 20 years, and it was already a used item when I purchased it. So that was my first introduction to KitchenAid and I have depended on their quality appliances ever since. I have not been disappointed with my all KitchenAid kitchen appliances for my oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher.

I bought this KitchenAid dishwasher thinking maybe it would last more than 6 or 7 years like the other brands Ive had. This one actually needed a repair before it hit the 4 year mark! Needed a new computer - of course the part was under warranty (five year) but the service call and labor were not. Spent $155.00 to have the part replaced. I also had to replace the upper rack after approx. 1 1/2 years. Ive had cheaper brands that have lasted longer without repair so next time I know better - Ill stick to the lower end brands as there seems to be no difference in the quality anymore. Disappointed!!!

Well with the refrigerator be less than 6 weeks old we have had two services calls. It sounds like a small plane getting ready for take-off, and I have ice build around the freezer door as well as in the fridge on the ice maker. We have been told a part in the ice maker needs to be added so I believe KitchenAid is well aware of the problem but has refused to recall the fridge. Sorry we spent $3000 for a new fridge KitchenAid will not replace for a new working fridge. I love the look and the size of the fridge but at this point that the best part of it.

I bought my french door bottom mount refrigerator in 2013. I have started having issues with the freezer and ice maker. The technician who came to check the fridge told me that this is a very common problem with KitchenAid. We have to pay $390.00 for labor and if the parts are not covered in extended warranty pay for that too. Our extended warranty ran out in 2018. We were also told that the dye leaks and it will have to be replaced every 4 or 6 months. I am annoyed at the expense this fridge is going to cost us. I called the appliance pros for KitchenAid and they did not help in any way. They are very rude and nobody knows anything there. They went on telling me, “We dont know how things work in Canada.” Well why then are you selling appliances in Canada. They know how to give customers a runaround and beat about the bush. I would not recommend this fridge to anybody. Please buy a fridge by a company which stands behind its product.

I have a house in New Jersey that was affected by Sandy. When installing the new kitchen I decided to buy KitchenAid appliances since I had them in my house in Florida and loved them. WHAT A MISTAKE!! I have had the range serviced 4 times now for the same problem (oven not lighting). It was recommended by the store where I bought the range that I should call Whirlpool and request a replacement. The answer I got from Whirlpool was that the warranty does not cover replacement only repairs. So keep in mind when buying KitchenAid that if you get a lemon like I did, you are going to be stuck with it and just keep getting service until your warranty expires. Also, once you get into the extended warranty period (if you still own it by then), you may have more issues. I havent reached that point yet and dont think I will. I think by then I will have replaced this range with a GE.

On November 11, 2016, we purchased all new KitchenAid kitchen appliances (nearly $10,000) from a local reputable appliance dealer. On December 27, 2016, we took delivery of the new appliances, and after cabinet modifications, the fridge (Model KRFC704FSS) was installed and working by the second week in January 2017. Near the end of May 2017, we started to notice reduced cooling and slow ice making in the fridge, and arranged for a service call. The service rep came out June 19, 2017, and concluded the main control board needed to be replaced. One problem, since this was a new model/design parts were not available, and we did not know when the parts would be made available! After being without a fridge for weeks and many phone calls, the parts were finally overnighted, and the main control board was replaced. This appeared to fix the problem for several months until just recently over the holidays.Keep in mind, we spent nearly $3500 for this fridge with LED lighting, wood serving tray, digital controls, etc., and absolutely love the looks, style, and functionality of it; However, we are now experiencing the same problem as before (not cooling and slow ice production), and again set up for a service call on January 3, 2018. The service tech came out and after running a few codes and consulting by phone with the Whirlpool/KitchenAid service repair team, spent nearly 3 hours completely disassembling the inside of the fridge to defrost the condenser cooling coils and reassemble the fridge. He indicated this should last for a several weeks, but also indicated the ultimate fix would have to wait until he returned to apply a silicon caulk along the exterior seam between the outer stainless-steel skin and interior plastic shell. Since he did not have the right color of caulk, he needed to order it from Whirlpool/KitchenAid, which should arrive in a few weeks. Since we had the initial problem under the original warranty, we elected to purchase the extended manufacturer’s warranty service plan (3-years); so, this activity was being covered (i.e., no out of pocket). After conducting some research (like Anthony), we discovered this same fridge model and problem is documented across the internet. The model had already been redesigned (less than a year in production). Giving this some thought, and not liking the direction the repair was heading, we decided to start working with Whirlpool/KitchenAid directly to resolve my concern. Here is where it gets very interesting.Initially, we went to the KitchenAid website and followed directions for a customer concern by sending an email to NAR Customer Solutions @KitchenAid.com. On 1/3/18, Lisha called and left a voicemail and requested a callback to 1-800-331-2689 and mention Ref # **. After about 40 minutes of hold, we talked with someone in Michigan (MI) who wanted to know if we used social media (?). We informed him no, that we just sent an email to NAR. Wrong department… He sent us to Kimberly in MI. When she realized we were on an extended service plan, again wrong department, and was told to call 1-866-265-2082. After about 30 minutes of hold, we get Ashley in Tennessee, we believe with AIG (the extended service plan underwriter). Then, we’re forwarded to Amber at 1-800-253-1301 and told to mention Ref #**. After going thru the whole spiel again with her, we’re told to talk to her supervisor Marisa (?). She informs us there is nothing flawed with this fridge, and we must go the repair route. Not liking the fix for the fridge, we persisted to pursue a replacement that would work without a modification of additional caulking. We called again and talked with Katrina in MI with KitchenAid, who understood our concern that the repair was being made outside of the service contract by making an addition or modification using caulk and not repairing with new or refurbished parts, but she had to discuss with the service rep to confirm that was the fix. The next day she called back and left me a voicemail and requested I call back to 1-866-640-7146 and ask for her or Aleah. Unfortunately, this was not a direct line (as she indicated), and we were sent thru the same calling tree, recordings, on-hold, transfers, etc., again as previously mentioned.Long story short, we finally gone thru to an Andrew in TN; then an Erin in TN; then her supervisor Katzman; and finally, the “Resolution Manager” in MI (?), Gabby (ext. **). This appeared to be where the buck stopped. She insisted that by adding the caulk, this was a fix under the extended contract (using new parts) because the caulk had a Whirlpool part # (even though caulk was not intended or initially installed there). We expressed our concern that the remedy to add a bead of caulk sealant to the exterior joint between the stainless steel shell and interior plastic was not a “repair” using “new or refurbished parts”, and that it was an “addition or modification”, and only appeared to be a “band-aid” fix for the poor design of air flow that was changed on this model of fridge within a year… She disagreed. After spending about a half-hour on the phone with this manager, we were at the end of our rope. She thanked us for our time and mentioned she would document in our file our dissatisfaction with the proposed remedy to fix our fridge. In summary, if Whirlpool/KitchenAid were to admit and own up to this poor design flaw having subsequent failures, they’d be needing to recall and replace several units; hence, the reason for what we have gone thru and “contract misinterpretation” push back. We will proceed with the current fix, and tolerate at least 3 more repair visits over the next 3-years until the “No Lemon Guarantee” stipulation as provided in the KitchenAid Service Plan kicks in. Unless a class action lawsuit is initiated. Stand-by to see how that goes!

I have never been more unhappy with products I have bought, we upgraded all our kitchen appliances about 8 years ago and decided to go with KitchenAid products (Refrigerator, Stove top range). We have had numerous issues with both products starting within 2 years of purchase. The stove valves were the first to go, and then failed again several times in the past 6 years. The refrigerator ice maker solenoid was the second item to fail. Recently the refrigerator seal system went, just a few months after the warranty expired. Today the stove ignition switch failed and the stove wont stop clicking. The seal system repair on the refrigerator was estimated at $1700. A new GE sells for 1000. Speaking of GE, I kept my GE refrigerator in the garage and now 23 years later it still works.

KitchenAid double wall ovens/ WALL OVEN- ELE BI 30 - My LOWER oven (the one not used except on holidays) went out on me on CHRISTMAS as Im cooking a prime rib (at 500 degrees). The ovens have only been installed for a year! Got an error message asking for probe temperature. Wasnt using the probe although I do have the ability to use it. Checked the manual and found I did everything right. I then ended up with an under cooked prime rib for 13 guests. Thanks for that! Then I tried to clean the damned thing since it hadnt cleaned well after Thanksgiving (I usually try to do this when we are in bed because the fumes are so awful). Guess I know why it didnt clean! This time after waiting till everyone left, I opened the windows (glad its a warm December) and the oven wouldnt clean. Got an ERROR message this time of E3F3. Heck if I know what it means. They were able to schedule a service appointment quickly but if they have to order parts, then I have to have another service appointment. All I know is, Ive got an oven that doesnt work during the holidays (Im cooking for NY Day too). I called the extended warranty number and sat on hold for 42 minutes. THIS AFTER HAVING SPENT NEARLY 2 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY BUILT IN KITCHEN AID DISHWASHER FIXED THAT HAS ONLY BEEN IN USE FOR 6 MONTHS! It needed an entire new drum. Nice since it already damaged my NEW cabinets and NEW floor in my NEW kitchen. No offer to fix the damage they caused even though they finally fixed the dishwasher. Our first problem was that the plastic wheels on the top rack broke and it would not stay up. We had a repairman come and replace them. Less than year later they broke again. We were being very careful with the rack so it is not from being rough with it. They are made of very weak plastic and are not holding up to moderate use. Now the dishes are not being cleaned at all. We suspect that the upper arm is not working so everything on the top rack comes out dirty. To compound the problem, the dirt is now cemented on because of the drying cycle. That factor makes those dishes very hard to hand wash after being in the dishwasher. The dishwasher is just over two years old and is useless. We chose KitchenAid because we thought we were moving up to higher quality. It is so much poorer than our 12-year old dishwasher we replaced.

I bought a KitchenAid DW and am very dismayed by the lack of information regarding this bizarre drain line. I have installed several dishwashers before and never had any issues as this. The drain line seems to be long enough if you could unravel it from their mountings on the side of the unit, which apparently are not to be removed? I still have no clue. I had to butt together 2 drain lines with a 3/4 nipple and 2 hose clamps to connect the 2 soft ended hoses together, seems wrong but impossible to get any facts. Some say remove the hose from its bindings, which looks impossible to do safely, or butt connect 2 hoses jury rigging it like some Ethiopian setup, not happy!

Do not buy KitchenAID refrigerator KFIV29 model. My refrigerator stopped working in less than 2 years. I had an extended warranty and they basically kept on sending a service contractor to address the issue who kept on finding new issues as to why my refrigerator was not working. KitchenAid refused to take any responsibility in regards to the quality of the product or the extended warranty that they sold to me in the first place, and refused to help solve the problem. The extended warranty company refused to stop the payment to the contractor until they had a confirmation from me that the refrigerator was actually working and six weeks in I still do not have a refrigerator.

Purchased new counter top gas stove with vent that comes up behind it. Was installed in December 2014 and vent hasnt worked ever. Local contract repair company has been out 7 times and on the phone with KitchenAid techs and replaced parts and still not working. Last time KitchenAid sent parts but missing a screw on back order and wont be here for another week to 10 days and may still not work. We were told today that if it doesnt work this next time they will send out another contractor to verify that it doesnt work and then may replace unit. We will never buy another one of their products and suggest no one else does. Worst customer service ever! We own 3 homes and will never buy another KitchenAid product. I hope others read this.

We bought a new KitchenAid gas range Model in 2014. The model# is KGRS505XSS. Within 1 year, one knob got stuck in off position. We had to pay $150 to service appliance person to get that fixed. Then less 1 year later a different knob has been stuck in off position. This is completely random and happens when were not even operating the knob. An amateur layperson cannot fix it. For the 30 years that we have been owning other gas ranges and operating it in similar home type situations, this has never happened to us. This KitchenAid unit is defective OR this could be a basic design flaw. Beware of this type of problem and do NOT buy KitchenAid for this reason.

I was cleaning it to prepared to load it from my old refrigerator only to find that the bottom freezer drawer cannot be removed for cleaning and there is no way to get to the bottom floor of the freezer to clean it. I contacted Whirlpool Customer Service to find out how to remove the drawers and after nearly 30 min, the CSR told me that he couldnt find a way to do it. How can KitchenAid (Whirlpool) sell something that cannot be cleaned? I am so angry and frustrated. The young man told me he would file a complaint but that there was nothing else he could do. Terrible design that cost me over $3000.

The repairman found the problem, but couldnt just buy the part needed. We had to buy a kit that costs $269 and $34 to ship!!! I already spent $99 for the repairman to show up once. So disappointed. Worst fridge Ive ever had, at any price. Its runs so loud that it sounds like a machine gun. Seriously, it wakes me up. In addition, after only two years the ice maker broke. Its only got a one year warranty. I replaced it, and one year, ten days later, it started leaking, so my ice container constantly has a big block of unusable ice in it that I have to break up and throw out. Im not spending $300 annually to replace the ice maker, so I shut the thing off. Ive been making cubes in my $500 fridge/freezer thats in my garage. Kitchenaid obviously knows its an inferior ice maker, or they would warrantyit longer than one year. Its a piece of junk. Never again.

We did a complete kitchen remodel and purchased the KitchenAid French Door refrigerator. It was installed in March 2018. First repair call was in October 2018. The ice machine stopped working. We contacted the company, a repairman came out and had to order a new part for the fridge (which took another 2 weeks for the order to ship and installation). Less than one month later, the ice machine broke again and the LED light on the shelf started blinking like a strobe light. Repairman called again, new parts had to be ordered again and another 2 week wait for the parts to come in and be installed. I wish I had never purchased this product. All of the other new appliances in our kitchen are GE Cafe. Buyers remorse; I wish I had bought the GE refrigerator instead of this poorly built KitchenAid “wanna be”.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 22 12552 last November. We are two seniors and we dont use the machine daily. So to our surprise, on Oct. 2, the machine went completely dead. No power. I called Sears and a technician came out and ordered the whole new board. We are waiting for it to arrive, but so far hasnt. Sears says its up to me to trace it and to call them tomorrow before 3 to tell them if the part is coming. This shouldnt be my job. I dont trust this machine, I want it replaced, to which Sears says no. It would be fine, but purchase the insurance for $150. This is a heck of a way to run a business. The machine is a lemon and should be replaced. Years past, I had a KitchenAid for 15 years without a service call, and now this unit isnt a year old and is having problems. Its up to the consumer to purchase insurance to keep it running. What a rip-off. This guy at Sears, Carlos, isnt working for the company--only Sears. Where do we have a consumer right? It doesnt wash completely and a huge residue is left on all the dishes. You cant look through the glasses.

My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher
My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher. I must be going crazy because I can hardly believe that a dishwasher cant wash dishes! Ive been pulling my hair out for 4 years trying to figure out why my dishes are so bad. I have convinced myself its our hard water (although we have a water softener) or the lack of phosphates in the detergents (I only use powder) and I even bought some contraband phosphate commercial detergent form amazon... No luck.I have to show you how bad my glasses are, so bad my kids have stopped using them because they are dirty. A lot of it appears to be etching, some is a film that can be scraped off with a razor, but none will come off with a scrubber or soap. This build up is an endless cycle of more crap sticking to it with every wash! I hand wash glasses all the time and refuse to buy another set of new glasses only to ruin them.I must say other than the door hinge cords breaking I havent had the misfortune of ANY broken parts or broken controls (crossing fingers!). I use my dishwasher every day. I do have a tip on the door hinge. DO NOT pay a repair person to do it. The part is $15 and 15-30 minutes of your time. Also note that we installed generic parts and we ended up with the loudest creaky door you have ever heard. The fix was to put the OLD wheels on the new part, and it worked like a charm (apparently the new wheels are made from a different plastic!) My request from fellow consumers... What dishwasher will you replace yours with? I just want this to go away!!!

We purchased a top-of-the-line over-the-range micro-convection oven by Kitc
We purchased a top-of-the-line over-the-range micro-convection oven by KitchenAid in September 2012. Within 30 minutes of installation the unit quit working. For 2 months we had 4 visits from a repair company while it hung without a door in our new kitchen. Finally it worked. Within the next 2 months the exhaust fan went out. They came, ordered a new one and when they pulled the original the tines on the wheels were shredded??? That was 2 more visits. Then just at the end of September this year the other motor did the same thing. That was 2 more visits. Now this week the control panel on the replaced door just started going crazy at random. So this will be another at least 2 visits. This will be 10 days of interruption of my work schedule for repairs to a microwave. Each visit requires you to allow a 4 hour window for the visit. My microwave has not been in full working order at least 4 months out of 14 months. Whirlpool the parent company will not replace it. They would rather I switch companies to LG or GE for my next appliance purchases. We have purchased just about every appliance from Whirlpool and KitchenAid for 35 years and 6 houses because they are a local company. BUT unknowingly this micro was built in China. Our loyalty to them is done because they have NO loyalty to us as a consumer. Very surprised at the lack of caring.

I purchased a KitchenAid stainless steel dishwasher on 5/9/2009, model number KUDX03FTSS. As of now, the stainless steel is rusting. How can this be? All of my other stainless steel appliances are over 10 years old and they are not rusting. The bottom line is KitchenAid is using a sub quality of stainless steel in all of their appliances. I called KitchenAid and they said there is not a warranty for finish on their appliances. How convenient is it for KitchenAid to reduce their cost of materials by using substandard stainless, then say there is no warranty on the finish? That is nothing but a ripoff by KitchenAid. I will never purchase a KitchenAid appliance ever again. I hope who ever reads this seriously considers another brand.

Model # KUDL021RBS4 - As two retired old folks, we use a lot of paper plates and have used our expensive all stainless dishwasher no more than three times a month. It was purchased from Lowes 2007. A month ago, the LEDs on the control panel started flashing. Wife called KA and they connected us to a tech. No problem, he says, change the circuit board. No problem, I say. I build computer up from parts. Ill change out the part from Whirlpool. The washer worked once and the lights started flashing again. Washer wont run. The internet chat line person knew nothing about that. He sent me a copy of what was included with the owners manual that doesnt reflect the actual model. Question is, do I waste another $250 with further service calls and parts or do I buy a disposable one for only $247 and give up on those pretty premium expensive disposable appliances? Samsung did me wrong, now Kitchen Dis-Aid. Why pay more? Whats the point?

The springs on both the dishwasher and the microwave broke leaving the doors to open precariously. The inside screws that hold the door together came unscrewed during a cleaning. Thankfully I was home to clean up the puddle that was growing on my wood floors. On June 27, 2018 my parents purchased side by side KitchenAid refrigerator model: KRSF505ESS. They made this purchase at Canadian Appliance Source. The product was delivered on Sep.20.18. The product has not performed well since opened, the freezer didn’t freeze and the ice maker didn’t work. To resolve the problem, we contacted WHIRLPOOL CANADA, at phone 1-800-807-6777 as they are taking care of the appliances after the purchase as a manufacture warranty. We scheduled an appointment for Sep.27.2018 and the technician appeared on the wrong address, even though he was provided with the address shown above and the postal code. We called to Whirlpool Customer service again and scheduled new appointment for Oct.1.2018 from 9am-1pm, Spoke to Brenda. We arranged the time and took time off from work, nobody appeared, no phone call made to notify us.When called Whirlpool on Oct.2.2018, they advise that the appointment from Oct 1st rescheduled for Oct. 2nd (without any notification to the customer) and the technical behind the schedule. The time of my call was 8pm Est. on Oct.2.2018. The tech didn’t come (spoke to Stephanie). I called Whirlpool on Oct.3.2018 stating that the technician wasn’t at the place and they offered to reschedule the appointment for Oct.10.2018 for 8am-12pm (Spoke to Tylor). At this time the technician Ram **, from “The Appliance Pros came. He did some maintenance and advised to wait for 24 hours to see if the fridge is working. The refrigerator didn’t work, and at this point both the fridge and the freezer weren’t operated.I was calling Whirlpool Canada on Oct.11.2018 and explaining that the fridge is not working. The representative after a long wait on hold explained that we are on emergency status but unfortunately she doesn’t have any records or documentations from the technician about the issue. I called Whirlpool Canada on Oct.12.2018 at 8:30am Est, and they said that the technician should come secondly to monitor the issue, and it is scheduled for Oct.16.2018, and again nobody notified us about this.I am very frustrated customer of being offered poor service, very long waiting times on hold, NO COMMUNICATION between the customer, the Customer Service and the maintenance team, and no resolution in timely manner. I would like to address it, since it is not the way Whirlpool should serve their customers. I would like to get faster response for the addressed issues, need to be notified about any changes that done by the customer support representative about any changes or updates about the service. Im not typically writing reviews but this situation should definitely be addressed. I hope my review will avoid people of dealing with CAS in particular and Whirlpool Canada in general.

I was cooking at the KitchenAid Architect II Slide In range on November 20, 2012, and had the oven set to turn on automatically. Just after it reached the temperature, I heard a hissing noise followed by a really bad smell. I moved back across the room. Then there were many loud bangs and pops, followed by large flames behind the range and black smoke. I quickly turned off the oven and cook top, and then the last explosion blew out all the lights on the range and the fire went out. We purchased the range 4-1/2 years ago and took the extended warranty through the appliance dealer - Queen City (QC). The model is the KESS908SPS, and we paid $1600. We purchased 5 kitchen appliances at that time. This is the second time we have had a wiring problem with the range. The last time, the stove stopped working, and they said the plug was not installed correctly to the stove. They fixed the plug. This time, QC sent out a repairman who is giving them an estimate of $500 to repair. Again, he says the plug was not installed correctly to the stove. We do not believe it to be repairable and are afraid of the range. I spent the night vomiting and ended up in the ER the next day from dehydration. I called Whirlpool to see what that smell came from to see what I had ingested. They gave me a case file number, but seemed more interested in whether or not we had the tip-over safety feature installed. QC is offering to give us the $500 toward a new range, but no offers to replace it even with the extended warranty. Were through with Whirlpool.

The oven (model # KGRK806PSS01) was put in self clean mode. I came back to the kitchen later and found it had powered off; the oven glass was shattered and hot pieces were falling on the floor. After letting it cool down, I unplugged it. I later plugged it back in; still, it had no power and the self clean oven door latch will not unlock. Oven is completely useless now. The glass and parts alone to fix it are over $450 plus a service call & labor would put it closer to $600. I bought this at Sears about 5 years ago and they referred me to KitchenAid. KitchenAid finally offered to fix it for $370; however the glass is on back-order for 3 months. I see many similar complaints online and judging by the long back order on the glass, Im sure there are a lot of other people in my boat. Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife and I remodeled our upscale homes kitchen 2+ years ago. Granite, all brand new top of the line Kitchenaid appliances. We wanted to buy American, since I have had a 35 year + career in US based manufacturing sales. Well, the KFIS29PBMS refrigerator was unbearably loud from day 1. We had 4 warranty calls right off the bat. They replaced the DC fan motor, the compressor and some icemaker components. This did nothing to relieve the very loud whiny electrical motor sound that was on almost constantly. This took us to the end of our 1 year mfg warranty. We called Kitchenaid several times and they basically showed us their corporate middle finger. They suggested we purchase the extended warranty, which was several hundred $ more! No way, we are not that stupid or foolish. 5 different factory authorized service people visited us. By luck, or I think, Gods grace, repairman #5, who had 18 years as a tech rep, finally solved the issue. The problem was the sealed refrigerant system had a leak. The compressor was kicking into the highest gear (hence the loudest noise level) to try and keep the freezer & refrigerator cool. Our bottom drawer freezers coldest temp was at 20 degrees, when it should have been 0 degrees. The icemaker requires 15 degrees to make ice. It could not do this since 15 degrees was colder than the freezer temp, and the icemaker is located in the refrigerator section! The sealed system has a 10-year warranty, so the final repair cost $0!! Our refrigerator is now very quiet, much to our delight. There were times when we could not deal with sitting at our kitchen table. So, justice was finally done. Call your factory authorized repair people and make them check the temps in the freezer. Kitchenaid needs to stand behind their substandard products. The repair people advised us that Kitchenaid will no longer pay for warranty calls based on noise. If their customers make them replace the expensive sealed refrigerant system enough, perhaps they will spend the extra $ to install better quality units from better quality suppliers. I was told by every tech rep that the quality of todays appliances have deteriorated significantly in recent years. The big companies wants your $, but dont care if they send you bad products. Thank you, I hope this helps many people.

This is the second Kitchenaid refrigerator I owned. The first one had problems right from the start. Multiple repairs within the year. Symptoms were not cooling properly, no ice, ice buildup on evaporator coil. Kitchenaid finally replaced the unit because of leak in sealed system. The second one came Jan 2018. By March had issues again. The same problems. Ice build up, no ice, not holding temp. 5 more house calls, loss of food, missed work then conveniently after the manufacturers Warranty expired Kitchenaid deemed it unrepairable. How convenient. I could have told them that back in March. The only problem is that now I am in extended warranty and they only offer 70% of the value. They would not say why it was unrepairable (the sealed system again which should have a 5 year manufactures warranty). I know this because its the same problem as the first one and the same symptoms on last house call. What else would be unrepairable?? I spent 4 hours on phone trying to get satisfaction but they just said, I can transfer you but it will be same answer. Unbelievable that they would rather lose customers for life than replace what is apparently a Manufacturing issue. You can search for class action lawsuits and find many complaints on the same issue. They simply do not care.... I actually believe they deliberately instructed the repair people what to do to stretch out the time to avoid giving me another replacement or my full purchase price money back. I bought Model KRFF707ESS01 for $3,500. Never had a working unit for more than a few months.

When we moved into our new house (new build) this was our refrigerator. It looked wonderful, but thats about all I can say positive about it or Whirlpool. Constant icing issues with no resolution from Whirlpool. This is a known issue as Ive come to find, but all Whirlpool does is provide a repair to melt the ice. No replacement, this is the third or fourth time this has happened. My recommendation is to NEVER buy this model, and if possible, never buy from Whirlpool.

Purchased two KitchenAid (owned by Whirlpool) under-counter refrigerator/freezer drawer units for a remodel. Both had issues from day one. I called Whirlpool, and they scheduled their choice of tech to come look at the units. After the third tech visit the unit started leaking. After the 5th service call (they came out 7 times before it was fixed) for the leak I had to go out of town and while I was gone my buildings maintenance team entered my condo and found that the unit had been leaking again and ruined the wood flooring. I filed claim with Whirlpool. They promptly denied any wrong doing and blamed Panasonic for a faulty part. Because I did not keep the faulty part, how was I to know to keep the faulty part?? Panasonic is denying the claim saying, How can we prove it was their part that caused the damage! How about all the notes from the multiple tech visits to try and fix the POS I bought!? Also, how is it that Whirpool can push blame to Panasonic and not have to take ownership of the problem??? Its been over a year that I filed with them. Whirlpool wont answer or return any calls. Total BS. I will not buy any of their products again and I will let everyone I know about this issue!

This microwave oven is a replacement for the Electrolux that I previously owned. I would not own another because I had several issues before it totally stopped working. I have only owned this KitchenAid microwave for a few months but it's been great and has more features than I will ever use. It's also a convection air oven which I like very much even though we don't use that feature very much.

I called KitchenAid service and spoke to a supervisor. I told her that I have had one of their fridges for under 4 years, and had purchased the extended warranty. She expressed no interest in looking at photos of the hundreds of small rusty colored spots all over the front of my fridge. She did not seem interested in finding out what caused them. She told me I would have to pay for a service call, as they only warranty cosmetic damage for 30 days. I have always used stainless steel cleaner on my appliances and the fridge is the only appliance that has these dots. KitchenAid offered to help whatsoever. Terrible customer service; will never buy their products again.

Until now, Kitchenaid has been our choice in kitchen appliances. Two weeks ago, our Kitchenaid flooded our kitchen and four rooms in our basement. Obviously the Overflow protection float which was not impeded in any way, didnt work. Now the kitchen hardwood floor is being ripped out and replaced. Walls and ceilings have been repaired downstairs. Even the electrical system between the walls was damaged and had to be fixed. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and just wanted some answers. It is very apparent Kitchenaid doesnt care. I am so disappointed in this company and will never purchase from them again. The most expensive dishwasher.... Thousands of dollars for repairs!

We have had our KitchenAid KGRS505X oven for less than 3 years and it has broken down twice. First time only after a month which was under warranty. The 2nd was a couple weeks shy of three years. It is costing us $300 for a one year service warranty so we can get it repaired. Reasonable expectation for an oven of this cost would be 10 years of trouble-free service. So, at this rate I will have purchased this appliance twice in the expected 15 years of service. I cant tell you how much I regret buying this piece of garbage.

I would love to share my experience with my new KitchenAid refrigerator, however it appears at Whirlpool who makes KitchenAid refrigerators is not up to the task of manufacturing it and getting it shipped!!! How can one have faith in a company that cannot manage its supply chain? I ordered this refrigerator from a major appliance retailer on the East Coast, Karls appliance on the 5th of June 2020. Its delivery date has been postponed three times already with no firm commitment as to when the product will ship. I made the mistake of continually waiting thinking Ive invested this much time already I might as well wait for it to arrive. This turned out to be an ill-advised strategy. KitchenAid refrigerators are simply not shipping.Had I ordered a Bosch, or GE or any of a number of brands not manufactured by Whirlpool, I would have had my refrigerator for months. If you are prepared to put your trust in a company that cannot honor its commitment dates, then Whirlpool/KitchenAid maybe a viable option for you. For me however this incompetence in handling supply chain management is a deal-breaker! I will not likely ever purchase a Whirlpool/KitchenAid product again.

We have had them since our first house in 1976. Four homes later in Fargo, ND we downsized. We have always upgraded appliances over the years. Not because they failed... we just wanted new ones at the time. This condo is brand new, built in 2013. This has been a nightmare. 45 days later and its still broken. 2 service calls from the assigned warranty repair service dealer, and Im still washing my dishes. Im 64 yo and this is a pain! I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator model # KBLS22KWMS4, which was delivered to my home on July 8, 2010. We had 2 service calls to repair the appliance in the first year of purchase and 2 service calls in the second year of purchase, all for the same problem. We purchased a KitchenAid because of the reputation and as you can see, we are extremely unhappy with this appliance. When I called Whirlpool Canada for an exchange after the second call, I was told that they only provide service calls, no exchanges. Today, I called again as this is the fourth time the refrigerator is not working properly and again, I was told that you do not offer exchanges on appliances even though I have had 4 service calls for the same problem; 2 in the first year of purchase and 2 in the second. Obviously, this product is defective. From this I can only conclude that you do not stand by your equipment.

The dishwasher does work quite well. The problem is the racks are garbage. They fall apart easily and are very very costly to repair. All the little bits fall off constantly hit the element and melt and burn. The adjusters on the top rack are very poorly made and quickly become useless. The wheels are the first thing to go. I asked KitchenAid if I can just buy two new racks with all the bits attached. They said no! I would have to buy all the bits and pieces, and yes get the technician in to assemble the whole thing starting at 400.00!!! NIce really nice, so they have you anyway you turn. This will be the second time we have had to replace all the bits of on a 5 year old dishwasher, first time was around 400 bucks so 800 in total to Date. It is the top of the KitchenAid line at that time. It is the standard KitchenAid Superba from 1993. It has a black, shiny front with chrome control buttons. I have owned this dishwasher for a very long time. I have had one service call on it. I hope it lasts forever! The newer units are said to be less reliable and not as good at cleaning. We have owned the KERS306BSS range since March of 2013. On balance, we like the design of the range and its features (except the AquaLift cleaning feature which, like others have reported, does not clean well). During this time, we have had five instances of a repetitive problem of the range unexpectedly turning itself completely off. This has happened both while using the range and while it is not in use. KitchenAid FAQ advises customers to turn the power off, wait a minute, and turn the power back on in an effort to reboot the system. After doing this, however, only one of the features (oven or surface units) starts working again. The range has been serviced after each of these instances and works correctly for another few weeks, or maybe a month, and the problem repeats.KitchenAid initially would not refund our money and only offered a replacement unit. When we did not receive delivery confirmation, we attempted to follow up. We were told delivery had been delayed to February. Then, we were told replacement units were not available and given instructions on how to fax in an application for a refund. We told we would receive a confirmation. We did not. We will post our additional progress at resolving this complaint.Overall, our experience with KitchenAid Customer Service personnel has been very poor. Each time you call you get a different person who has a hard time locating your previous calls. The first time we called the Product Exchange Group we were assigned a contact person who said we should call her for any questions. Unfortunately, we could never reach her again and other customer personnel did not seem to know her.

Fridge purchased May 2015. Lid for cheese drawer kept falling off whenever opened and puddle kept forming on floor below bottom freezer. New cheese drawer lid ordered, still didnt fit properly so technician had to shim the sides and now there is a gap on either side where debris could collect and cant be cleaned out. Door on bottom freezer deemed to be warped causing it not to seal properly, thus huge frost accumulation on inside of freezer and bouts of thawing causes puddles on floor in front. Waited 2 months for a new freezer door, arrived and when technician went to install found it also was warped. Now have to wait another 2 months for a second try. Whole unit is substandard. I asked for a replacement fridge. Of course, they refuse but they are happy to keep making repairs. I am not happy to have to make myself available for repeated visits by technician for a problem that remains unfixed.

KDRS483VSS - DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID RANGES!! They dont know how to repair them and their policy is not to replace them but to repair them. This is a very classy looking expensive piece of JUNK metal. The hinges on the large oven dont pull the door closed enough to turn off the oven light and you have to press the door in to turn light off. Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking, then will turn itself back on,
The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking, then will turn itself back on, anywhere from 30-60 minutes later. My husband and I moved into our just built, brand new home with brand new appliances, in November 2006. We have a Kitchen Aid Gas Range Architect II series (model KGRS807SBL00). The first Christmas meal, in December 2006 was just shy of a disaster. The fan in the oven kept making a horrible sound, and then the oven shut off in the middle of convection cooking the prime rib roast. Luckily, the neighbors let us use their stove to finish the roast. Our entire family and guests didnt eat, until almost 9PM that night. The oven, of course, turned itself back on within an hour or so. A service call the next day showed nothing was wrong with the oven, and the issue couldnt be replicated. Next year, no noise from the fan, but during the Thanksgiving dinner, the oven shut off again unexpectedly, in the middle of a regular baking cycle, and of course, with no warning, turned itself back on 30 minutes later. This year, same thing happened, and again, a $30-$40 service call to a licensed Kitchen Aid technician shows nothing. The diagnosis cant be made, because the issue cant be replicated. The oven is barely 5 years old, and of course, is outside of the warranties, and frankly doesnt get much use. Its just me and my husband cooking. Were often not even home, and Ive used the self-cleaning cycle twice in the 5 years weve had it. This oven doesnt take a beating in terms of use, and certainly seems to be a faulty product. The only similarity to the occurrences when the oven shuts off appears to be that several burners are going while the oven has been on for a while. Its like the system overloads, which sounds like a computer or electrical sensor issue. Ive spoken with several customer service agents, and and ultimately, my calls to Kitchen Aid are a waste of time. They continue to recommend more service calls, which cost money every time, with no resolution and a stove Im stuck with, which wont work consistently. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool oven again, and will tell everyone who will listen what a crappy product they produce, and how they wont stand by them.

Extremely disappointed that our Kitchenaid microwave magnetron has failed after only 2.5 years and requires $325 to repair (65% of the purchase price new). We have never put metal in the unit, which, after researching, appears to be the only possible operator cause of failure, meaning a part that is reportedly supposed to last 22 years is clearly defective from the factory. Service staff on the phone have been quite kind and sympathetic, but unable to help. They encouraged me to email the company directly, which I have done with the above verbiage, requesting explanation of their policy to not cover this under warranty, especially after seeing so many other people complain of the same issue. The company has not responded. The service tech who diagnosed says hes seeing this more and more, as the appliances are being built less and less robustly.

I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. Run, do not pass. Go as far away from this cheap as heck product. The product “looks” fabulous but it’s all a delusion. Again, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CRAP PRODUCT.

My KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS35FX is 18 months old and has worked fine up until a few days ago when it just went completely dead. I didnt buy the extended warranty because I think they are a ripoff. I immediately started looking online for possible causes and solutions. It quickly became apparent that the problem was the thermal fuse. I called KitchenAid customer service 3 times, trying to get them to give me some help and what I got was ticked off. The first thing they told me was that I need to make sure and run hot water into the sink before starting the dishwasher, because the thermal fuse was overworked trying to get to the optimal temp, in this case when it failed, because I had the dishwasher set to sanitize. My issue is that I almost always start the washer right after dinner when I have finished rinsing off the dishes in hot water. They argued that the water needed to be 105, and I asked who in hell stands at the sink with a thermometer checking water temps? Why would they use such cheap and flimsy parts on a machine that I spent close to $900 on? If theres a sanitize feature, why do I have to worry that its going to wreck my machine? Next, they asked what temp my hot water heater is set at and did I know it was supposed to be 120. I said thats right where mine is. Then they suggested I could still spend $250 for their extended warranty and my repair would be covered. They refused to acknowledge that they are fully aware of these defects and refuse to make good on them. It is their cheap design and my tough luck. I called for repairs from the business that I bought the machine from and the tech told us that there is a harness kit for the wiring to keep it stable that KitchenAid came up with, because the connections would become loose from vibration, thus burn out the fuse when it became stressed. So they know they have a problem and they created a fix for it, but dont just fix it on their dime. They expect the consumer to do it. The service call and part cost me $170. I dont have money to waste on this ripoff.

I had bought this KitchenAid Refrigerator KFCS22EVMS in May of 2012 at Pacific Sales for $3000. In the first month, my ice maker NOT function and it did fixed the problem. After 2nd years, my refrig is starting to leak bottom of the refrig, and it happened twice to 3 times a week. Overall we had a very bad experienced with this brand and model. Not happy with this product at all, including the repair costs will be over $3000.00.

We purchased this model of KitchenAid wall oven from a Portland OR appliance company (Sept. 19, 2019). After the new oven was installed it quit. The were kind enough to replace the oven with another new oven. That oven also had the same problem and KitchenAid had repairmen come out for months replacing parts to no avail. Finally they replaced our oven with another new oven on 12/3/19-, (Our 3rd wall oven installed, same model) This oven quit on Christmas Eve. Now it is working intermittently and KitchenAid will not refund our money; will not waive the fee charged by the repairman if the oven is not acting up at the time they are here to service it. I am very unhappy with the wall oven and with KitchenAid customer support. Beware. Go to another brand.

Count me in the group of very angry KSSC42QTSOO refrigerator owners. My circuit board started to ting about one month ago. It was sent to CoreCentric 1 week ago, and Im hopeful to have a working refrigerator in another week or two. In my Google search of this problem, I came upon an interesting post (which I could not relocate today) that may be helpful to some. A realtor from Ariz posted her problem with the same circumstances; same circuit board part number (W10121049 and substitute board 10219462. She said her husband had experience with soldering and circuit boards and was able to repair their refrigerator with a $5 capacitor, purchased at Radio Shack. She said she had found out these boards had defective capacitors manufactured in South Korea. Sure enough, my repairman showed me the rounded top of the blown out capacitor on my circuit board... Dont scrap the fridge until you check all avenues. However, never buy a KitchenAid appliance again.

Purchases and installed 2/2015. Been using the top oven. Went to use the bottom one Christmas day, it kept blowing the fuse. Cant understand what is going on. I have read reviews of the oven shutting down when cleaning both but not using. If this is the case, why isnt there a recall on these ovens? Spending over 2600 on oven, you expect it to work and the problems getting solved but its not. Unfortunately Kitchenaid was closed but I plan on getting this problem solved or they can pick it up and dump it. Hum. American made. Theyre not being tested before selling them. Sorry I am not a big fan of Kitchenaid. At this time wish I had my Jenn-Air back. Old faithful never let me down. Merry Christmas Kitchenaid. Hope your ovens work today.

Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS30FXSS5 in September 2012. The cheap plastic upper rack assembly has broken three times. The plastic parts to pull out the rack break every year and have fallen into the chopper causing further damage. Clearly this machine is made with plastic parts that cannot withstand normal usage. I will not buy a KitchenAid appliance ever again.
