I purchased this stove because it had a very large oven and I bake. Two weeks after installation I realized when I leaned up to get something from the cabinet above the stove I turned on burners, sometimes just enough for a gas leak and sometimes enough to burn my arm. First problem with design. A month later at Thanksgiving the turkey was in the oven and my grandson touched a knob with his arm and actually burned it. Thats how hot the knob. I see were due to a vent directly below them. Second design flaw.Later that afternoon. We realized the turkey wasnt getting done. Oven turned off by itself. Luckily I have a second oven. Very nice competent repairman (outsourced) checked the temperature of the knobs and they came in two degrees under government top number. He replaced an oven valve. This valve was replaced three times before the oven would function without failing. I took these safety and oven problems up with KitchenAid only to be told they were within government standards and be glad I bought a warrant for the oven. Cold, disrespectful and dismissive people. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID products.

I bought this 1st model about 8 years or when it was a new model. After 1 year the rectify started becoming very noisy to the point that you had to shut the bedroom door because of the sound! I bought it at Brandsmart USA and they sent out their tech in 2 weeks after call and ordered some parts and took another 2 weeks to come back and install. Seemed to work fine but soon the problem was back and another 2 weeks and a repeat of the latter! To make it short this went on into my extended warranty which I purchased with fridge. After humorous service calls from different techs they have me a refund and I purchased my 2nd same model rectify believing I had just got a lemon. Well to my surprise it began after about a year later with the same problems! I lost many days of work and pounds of food in this experience and was told this was going to be replaced also but to this day I have to defrost freezer and rectify about every 30 days. So my conclusion Dont buy a KitchenAid fridge because I see now after internet investigation Im not alone!!

We purchased a KUDE40 dishwasher in January of 2011 complete with stainless steel interior. The top rack glides keep popping open, letting the rack fall off. To make matters worse, the plastic wheels fell off the top adjustable rack due to the breaking of the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place. Of course, this happened right after the year warranty was up. Luckily, I saved the service call and ordered the part online for $25 each and replaced the parts myself. Based on what I have read on other places on the internet, this is a problem for everyone and KitchenAid will do nothing about it. I will not buy another KitchenAid dishwasher and plan to tell as many people as I can not to buy one either.KitchenAid needs to listen to the public and fix this issue free of charge. If it happens to you, order the part online and carefully disassemble about 4 parts to replace the plastic piece with the wheels. A small screw driver to pop off the plastic parts was all that was needed and we used the other side as a guide to what goes where were putting it back together. Total time: about 15 minutes to replace one side. The part is the same for the right and left sides. Save yourself the service call!

I am so glad I came here to read the reviews as I have a decision to make. I purchased this model Kitchenaid dishwasher which was to be installed today. It didnt work. The installer said it was either the washer motor or the CPU. Im not technically inclined enough to know the difference. He took it back to the store and brought out another one. It didnt work either. The suggestion was made that there was a problem with my power and/or water supply. My Kenmore dishwasher worked for 20 years on those resources.Store tested the machines and found that they were both defective. I was offered the opportunity to have them replace the defective part or get full credit and choose a different dishwasher. My confidence level was very low and it seemed akin to buying a new car, but let us put a new engine in it first. After reading these very helpful reviews, I shall select a different brand of dishwasher. Thank you all.

KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDC101X with touch-sensitive control panel too sensitive! Dishwasher can be turned on and off by my dogs or just standing in front of it. Most frustrating, I hate it! Dishwasher gets turned on by mistake then does not drain so it stays wet and smells, gets turned off mid-wash cycle and the KitchenAid customer service reps says, Sorry, it is working as it should. I say, bad design, and Im a very unhappy customer. No more KitchenAid/Whirlpool for me!

KSF22C4cYY01 - Purchased a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator in October 2014 from Lowes. Thinking that this refrigerator though a little higher price, it would be a better refrigerator. I was wrong! Shortly after purchase I noticed water freezing in the bottom of freezer. Had a repairman with warranty company come out to fix it. Also had a bad taste in the water that took over a month to clear up. Then the ice maker stopped working. Had the same repairman out. He was unable to repair said it needed a new ice basket. They had to order it. Several weeks went by. I called to find out that they could not find part needed, therefore the refrigerator needed to be exchanged. This has been ongoing for four months and I have yet to talk to the correct person for the exchange. Every time I call I am put on hold for a long time and then told someone will call me back and they never do. I am so disappointed with KitchenAid! I will not buy their product again.

The 8 months later same problem But now the Control board went out. Thought it was covered under the warranty but it was not. Now have to pay another $700. Be wary if you are considering buying (Model: KRMF706EBS). Already spent nearly $1000.00 in repairs and the refrigerator is only 3 yr old! Not to mention the loss of food since it took one week to get the board.

Our kitchen aid refrigerator is just over 5 years old and of course like clockwork, it stopped working. Weve been told that K will pay for a new compressor but the labor will cost $1050. Could that be any more exploitative? When the tech guy was here, he said the labor would be $600 and the part $400...now they changed it to look like theyre being cooperative by saying theyre paying for the compressor but the price is still outrageous because they say the labor is $1050. I offered to pay half of the labor but the answer is no, of course. Really horrible company and product....never again.

We set up a service appointment with a KitchenAid certified repair firm with a ridiculous $150 appointment charge. The tech tried to run diagnostics on it with no apparent success and just came back with a, It looks like you need a new control panel! Of course, he tried to sell me a $300+ extended warranty, in case anything else goes wrong. For just $430, I could have my gently used (run less than once a week in its life) $1200 dishwasher back in use. This unit was installed with our kitchen remodel when we also bought KitchenAid cabinet-depth refrigerator, dual fuel range, microwave and dishwasher, $7500 in what we thought were premium appliances. Im pissed at the lack of customer service support and, based on what I read here, are significant quality issues with KitchenAid dishwashers and a company focused more on selling extended warranties. In 2012 I purchased my new home and upgraded to ALL KitchenAid appliances. It was costly and I wish I would have done better research on appliance manufacturers. Just before the warranty was up on the first year, my refrigerator was leaking water. KitchenAid came out and fixed the water dispenser tubing. The repairman suggested that I buy another warranty and to keep buying them. He added that KitchenAid appliances are constantly breaking and the refrigerator was the worst appliance for reliability. I purchased a new 1 year warranty and that was up 1 month ago. I did not renew the warranty this year due to recent unemployment. Now the thermostat is out and it is going to cost me $300.00. I am going to purchase the warranty on all of the other appliances and ride this out. BBB and Consumer Reports recommend Thermador. I will be certain to never buy KitchenAid again and will go with what is recommended by the experts. Thanks KitchenAid!

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with KitchenAids failure to stand by their product. I purchased a $3000 stainless steel fridge last year and my fridge is still under warranty, but because the rust is cosmetic, KitchenAid feels no obligation to stand by their expensive stainless steel product and Ive been told that it is rust resistant, but not rust proof. They say all stainless steel can rust in certain environments. I have only used soap and water and never used a stainless steel cleaner or corrosive or abrasive product on the fridge and it is in my newly built and dry house. It is under a year old and I wonder what itll look like in another year. Kitchenaid offered me the opportunity to extend my warranty for hundreds of dollars, but offered no repair or replacement of the rusting door panel I called them about. What kind of stainless steel exists? Low-quality stainless steel with impurities. My stainless steel Bosch range hasnt started rusting and I clean it constantly with various cleaners. Clearly KitchenAids product is inferior and low quality.

First, I had to exchange this stove, because of the computer problems it had (exchanged it two times). Unfortunately it was over 30 days so I could not return it. Second, it takes over 30 minutes to preheat the oven! Third, after a month of using it two light bulbs went off!! At the same time!!!Last, but not least their service team checked and stated that the temperature in the oven is right, but to roast or bake it takes twice as long! I bought a KSCS25INS00 side by side and in its 3rd year of operation, the center wall between the fridge and the freezer started getting too hot to touch. When I bought the fridge from Sears, it stayed in their warehouse for one and half year (paid for) due to some family issue and therefore, when the problem happened, I was told it’s out of warranty. A technician checked it out and claimed the control board is bad. To my surprise, some time later, I was told KitchenAid does not sell this part anymore and I have to send it to some rebuilder for the tune of almost $500.00 plus shipping and of course, labor (about $875.00). I don’t think this a fair deal, to spend nearly $3000.00 for a fridge (I figured buying high end appliance will have fewer problems). That’s not bad enough. I had bought a stove and a dishwasher as well. The stove shows an error message and I have to pull it out and disconnect and reconnect every so often. The dishwasher had broken basket pieces and broken door spring line and roller. Now Im in the hell of a mess. Do I spend $800-900 fixing what I have or spend $1200.00 to buy another piece of junk to replace my HIGH END KitchenAid?

In Nov. 2017 we installed KitchenAid double ovens, model KODE500EBS02. The ovens look very nice, but they are not for bakers. They informed me someone would be out the next day to look at it. The serviceman replaced the thermistor and left. When I returned home from work the freezer was even warmer and the refrigerator was now moot cooling properly. I called Whirlpool again and they sent another serviceman Thursday. He said this thermistor is also faulty. He did not have one on hand some would have to order it and could possibly come back in a week.I called Whirlpool and explained that I am without a refrigerator/freezer and that I didnt think this was right. They stated this was the best they could do. I asked what if they dont fix it the next trip. She stated they would come back until it was fixed. I reminded them that I would still be without a refrigerator. They said they felt bad but they could do nothing else. I am frustrated and feel that Whirlpool likes to sell appliances but theyre not so good at fixing them and keeping the customer satisfied; probably my last whirlpool appliance. After looking at various makes and models of ovens online, we purchased/ordered our KitchenAid wall oven (KEBS107) back in August 2012, waiting for over 2 months for the actual delivery of the new oven. Over the next year and a half, we had occasional issues with the oven not heating properly - sometimes it would pre-heat quickly - sometimes it would seem to take a very long time to reach the desired temperature - especially if I was needing to change the temperature during use. After 16 months of use, the thermal fuse had to be replaced. Apparently the oven door has to be closed at ALL times, especially when broiling. Now, after two years of use, the oven is acting up once again and not heating properly. I purchased an oven thermometer to verify this. KitchenAid is going to cover this 2nd repair, even though I was told that my ESP was not currently in effect (which is another frustrating story that I wont go into). I am thinking at this point that there is a major design flaw with this appliance. Having any sort of electronic/module located just over the opening of an appliance that can get very hot was probably not a good idea. If I cant open the door of a hot oven to check on or remove the contents inside, what good is it????? This oven has been nothing but frustrating pretty much since we bought it!

We purchased our KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2015. This model has 2 French doors and a bottom freezer. We woke up to a wet floor this morning, with everything thawing in the freezer. We called KitchenAid and were told about their Goodwill Repair that covers appliances purchased between 12 and 18 months ago for a service charge of $94.95. Great we thought. Then were told they cant get anyone to our house for 5 days. Useless. We had the same problem 6 months ago, but assumed we had left the freezer door open. Not the case. I definitely would not recommend KitchenAid refrigerators to anyone, considering the issues weve had with the product itself, and the customer service.

I never had a dirty dish come out of it; provided you used the jet dry. No matter what I threw at it, they came out clean and spotless. The controls were on the top edge of the door so hidden during use and programmed before closing the door. The dishwasher ran whisper quiet and had multiple cleaning cycles; including pot scrubber. It should also be noted that the heater in this unit heats everything to the point of sterilization. You can actually smell the clean when the dishes come out. This dishwasher had the adjustable top rack so cleaning large items in the bottom was very easing. It also had extra large capacity so it took a lot of dishes to fill it. Stainless steel, and hidden controls were very nice. The large, rounded, stainless door handle was the only protrusion from under the counter so it blended well into the cabinetry. Kitchenaid 24-inch Stainless Steel with Proscrub. It came with the standard warranty and I paid to extend it an additional 2 years. It also came with a nicely written owners manual which was clear and concise on the operations.

We have had ongoing problems with our dishwasher model KDFE104DSSI, which we purchased as part of a total kitchen set of appliances for install in the fall of 2015. Since the first year of purchase, we have had four (4) electronic keypad replacements, as well as, other problem parts. Each time the technician assures us that this is the only working part and with the *new* keypad, the problem will be solved. Well, the problem has not been solved and we are left to wonder why they will not just replace the dishwasher with something that does not stop working every 4-6 months. We are always asked if we purchased the warranty and we have not as this is a continuing problem and we should not have to pay them to fix something that has not worked properly since the first year of purchase. Nor should we have to pay to have a technician to come replace a part (which generally requires a month to order and return visit to install) over and over again. Dishwashers that cost half of this monster are more reliable and clean better as even when this thing is working we have to pre-wash our dishes! We are extremely disappointed in this dishwasher and our KitchenAid (Whirlpool) experience.

I have had issues with this dishwasher since the beginning. The dishwasher racks are set up poorly and the mechanisms that hold the racks and allow them to slide in and out break often. A service repairman is the one who recommended I get a Kitchen Aid dishwasher and I am now wondering if he does this so that he gets more business. I have read other complaints since googling after having this problem and it appears to be pervasive. Kitchen Aid needs to recall these racks and offer a replacement of a newly-designed rack system. The dishwasher is 3 years old and this is the second time I have had a repairman out in the last 3 months not to mention that it has never operated well.

I wish you could give negative stars for their crappy product. We purchased a kitchenaid built-in refrigerator. After only 2 months of operation the refrigerator quit cooling. Both freezer and refrigerator stopped working. We lost all our freezer food and we were forced to rent another refrigerator while waiting for an appointment to have the refrigerator repaired. The refrigerator is still under the warranty period. We have had the assigned repair company come out three times. They have replaced the control module voltage inverter. The refrigerator is still not working and now the repair person has stated he is not sure and will start replacing more parts. KitchenAid has stated that they will NOT do anything but allow this technician to replace part by part. This is a $10K refrigerator and they have little regard to helping resolve the issue. Stay away from KitchenAid.

I have had KitchenAid dishwasher for a few years. I have not been, and am not happy with this product. We have had trouble with it almost constantly. The control panel has been replaced more than once, we have had to replace several parts on it, and the general service I have had from it is not satisfactory. Now the heating element is not working. We paid a lot for this appliance thinking we would get excellent service because of the KitchenAid reputation. This unit has been pulled out and apart and repaired more than I think is acceptable. When this unit gets replaced, I am thinking I will be going to another brand. It is aggravating to open this unit and find it has not drained, the dishes are not dry, or some other problem has become obvious. Perhaps a lot of people like this dishwasher, but I for one do not.

A five-year warranty was taken on my KitchenAid fridge. I called after 2 weeks of the delivery, and said that the lower box has a crack. They said they only accept claims of such when reported in 24-48 hours. I had moved to a brand new house; upon appliance delivery we went back to Markham and finally after all furniture was here, with small kids, we planned to stay, so I saw the crack then. After 3-4 days, I called cracks on the wall. They said no worries, that its cosmetic, and no heat or air is going out. Wow! A big expensive brand says that - its sad. Why not disclose this when I went to buy? I spent over $20k on KitchenAid when I built my house. I am very sad with the outcome. I need my fridge changed.

A few days after my dishwasher was installed my contractor noticed that vent [left side facing dishwasher KUDS35FXSS] was wetting inside door of my new cabinet. I contacted Kitchen-Aid. They said I had to contact where I bought it. I called the appliance store & told salesman (Dominic) whats happening. He said hed look into it. After a few days I went to store & asked him what was going on. He said his K-A tech said its probably a bad intake vent. Dominic told me to call the number he gave me to get a serviceman out & just keep the door of my cabinet open when I use DW until tech comes and fixes it. I went home & contacted the service dept. Tech came out. Tech said he felt moist heat coming out from side vent by cabinet. Tech called K-A Tech who told him venting system must be bad for that vent is supposed to takes in air. Tech said he had to order a new vent system & he would be back to install it. Two days before tech came back I opened door of DW & a screw fell on the floor. When tech came to put in new vent system I asked him about screw & he didnt seem surprised. He said it probably came from the insulation. Is that normal? He put new vent system in & left. I put on the dishwasher & about an hour later opened my cabinet & felt the inside of it. It was wet. I called tech again. He came out for the third time. He contacted a Kitchen-Aid Tech who told him to do a diagnostic check. Result is he has to put in a new Control board and dispenser. Now the front light indicator doesnt work. The dishwasher was installed a month and a 1/2 ago and I can only use it with cabinet door open because it is warping my new cabinet and somethings wrong with the dispensers. When youre looking for a dishwasher nothing in the details tells you where vents are. Who would put the vents of a built in dishwasher on side when there is wood cabinets on each side. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that when used is destroying my cabinet and doesnt take the jet-dry and I have no idea what cycle because light doesnt work. I didnt pay to have a dishwasher re-built I paid for a new working dishwasher. What upsets me also is the appliance store that I purchased it from acts like its not their problem, its the companys. H & H Appliance center is the one who sold it to me, not K-A. I bought a new dishwasher not one that has to be re-built. Please help I dont know what to do. I dont want others to go through something like this. I bought 3 other appliances from him ($4500.00 total) same day I bought dishwasher. I guess I was foolish to think hed make things right. I feel H & H Appliance Center, 909 Rt.130 North, East Windsor,NJ 08520 should hold some of the responsibility. Shouldnt you be able to go back to the person you bought from and expect them to make good? Please help me. This will never end until the warranty is up and they dont have to do anything.

I bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from Home Depot through what I am not getting to understand as special order from KitchenAid. What this means is that it cannot be returned even if you report an issue in the first two days after getting it. I spend over a 1000 dollars on this order which included an extended warranty. The installers came in, install the washer and told me it was working by showing me that the lights on the appliance were on. Unfortunately the appliance was not working. I loaded dishes in it later on in the day and 2 and a half hours later I opened the dishwasher and to my dismay the dishes were as dirty as I put them in.I went to Home Depot to report this issue hoping I will be given a brand new Dishwasher and the lemon that had been given to me would be taken out. To my utter dismay I was told they would have to send someone out to check it out. At that moment I thought that would happen immediately but no they had to call KitchenAid and they had to get their own service company. The company KitchenAid uses is called Flamingo and this company has really poor customer service. They called me. Told me they can only come out during the week before 6pm and I need to have the whole day blocked out. This outrageous time restriction with no weekend service makes no sense. This is especially relevant for those who have a job and commute that keeps them from being at home during the week before 6pm. With this kind of restriction if you buy a KitchenAid appliance that has an issue it mean you will not get service on an appliance unless you take a day off which is totally unacceptable. However I do not think the Flamingo representatives were being truthful about this restriction. I finally got them to come out on a Saturday to look at the nonworking dishwasher- but that took over 2 weeks. So I paid for a dishwasher for almost a month which I could not use. The guy who came out I must say was nice and it did not take him long to conclude that I had been sold a lemon. The dishwasher that was delivered to me had a bad pump so the dishwasher was not working. His conclusion was that it had to be repaired. I am still in shock as to what is going on here. Why should I have been sold a lemon and they have to fix the lemon versus replace the lemon. I tried to contact Home Depot but the customer service there was even worse. I got insulted on the phone by an appliance supervisor who was so condescending. I will not buy a KitchenAid appliance ever again. I have bought LG appliances and never had any problems. I am still without a working dishwasher, a debt on my credit card and waiting for Flamingo to get someone to come out on a Saturday to fix the lemon dishwasher KitchenAid sold to me via Home Depot special order.

The same model - a KitchenAid counter depth 29 inch depth refrigerator was put in our new kitchen by a reputable contractor, in addition to a new KitchenAid dishwasher, stove and in counter microwave. The refrigerator lasted exactly 22 months at which time the freezer stopped working. We called a service repair man and he noted that it was a very serious problem - the entire cooling unit of the refrigerator needed to be replaced and would cost $1500-1600 to repair. He advised we buy a new refrigerator. We are in the process of doing so, as the repair man said the refrigerator portion of it may last 2 days or 2 weeks. This is totally unacceptable. We contacted our kitchen contractor and he said he would call Whirlpool to see what they will do to remedy the situation. I would not want another KitchenAid appliance if they gave it to us for free.

It looked very nice in the store and we selected it because we thought the brand had a good reputation. Three months later, rust spots appeared on the stainless steel doors. I called KitchenAid, only to be told they saw this as a cosmetic issue which was not covered. They did say they could send a repairman to look at it, but I would have to pay for the service call. I protested and spoke to the service manager. No help! I returned to the Lowes store and the appliance manager had Lowes file a formal complaint with KitchenAid. He said Lowes would stand behind me. The new dishwasher has now stopped working for the 5th time. The first time was under warranty but the fuse was not covered - of course. He subsequent, 9/28/2015 returned and replaced electronic control and then confirmed that user interface was bad and needed replacement however, that was not covered under the warranty because, even though it is the electronic interface between the user and the electronic control, it was not considered an electronic control. My opinion is that seeing as it is a set of electronic pressure switches, connected to the electronic control by wires, it is an electronic control.9/28/15, I contacted KitchenAid and was curtly informed that it is not a covered part and that I could purchase it if I wanted. I am now back with the initial Home Warranty Company to determine if they will obtain and install the required part.

I just came in the house after spending about an hour and a half mowing the lawn. To my surprise, the KitchenAid Microwave (Model KHMS155LSS-3 Oct 2005) was running by itself. I tried to turn it off using the buttons, but none of them worked. I ended up opening the door and unplugging the unit to get it to stop running. Seconds later, the microwave started to run by itself again so I unplugged it again. I called Whirlpool (800/331-7456) and they said it was most likely a control board problem, and that they would be mailing a new one to my house. They also scheduled a service call which is a week and a half from today. Thank God I was at home or we might not have a home (and pets) to come back to. This unit should have been recalled! We replaced our old dishwasher with a KitchenAid one hoping to have a long-lasting efficient one that would really clean our dishes well. We have had several repairs from Best Buy where the dishwasher was purchased. Our problems started six months after purchase and are as follows: First, the heated dry function does not come on with normal cycle. Second, the on-hour wash cycle does not clean well at all, so we can only use the longer cycles which are more time-consuming. We have replaced the racks three times. KitchenAid was contacted and they feel Best Buy should take responsibility for the machine while Best Buy held Whirlpool responsible. We did not purchase the extended warranty on the faith that KitchenAid is a good brand with a quality product. We will not purchase a Whirlpool or KitchenAid product in the future.

Purchased from Lowe’s 9/21/18 and bought 5 year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Kitchen Aid did not supply refrigerator to Lowe’s until 11/15/18 (they said they weren’t ready to manufacture that model until then). I noticed first of August 2019 (8 months after delivery) that the long deli drawer (under the crispers) was not shutting completely on the left side. It stuck out like something stuck behind it. Upon checking, I found a block of ice (maybe 15” long by 5” high) behind the left half of that drawer. It was still under Manufacture warranty and they sent repairman from local appliance repair in 8/6/18.They returned 8/23/19 to repair. I had to empty the refrigerator and freezer 24 hours before and turn it off to allow the ice to melt I was informed. I did this. A pain is in the neck of course to relocate everything. The repair was made. 6 months later, I notice the same issue with left end of drawer not shutting. Sure enough, the same block of ice had returned. Called Lowe’s and they had no record of first incidence because that was MANUFACTURE WARRANTY incidence. Was rudely told this would be the FIRST incidence of such issue now that under Lowe’s extended warranty.I am set for yet another Appliance repair store to be here 2/13/20. So I’m sure they will also tell me to empty it before they return for repair! And my fear is this will be a temporary fix just like last time. I’ll be reporting it again in another 6-9 months and eventually my warranty will expire and I’ll be out the money because I have a LEMON!!! I think Kitchen Aid should replace it. I also would like to know if this issue has occurred often with this model. Maybe I don’t have a lemon, but the whole model manufactured at that time (between Sept 2018-November 2018) are faulty???

Two years later the off pad stopped working, being on a very tight budget we learned to use the timer to turn off the stove thinking that we would be able to afford a new touch panel at a later date. Last year the whole touch pad freaked out when trying to use the self cleaning mode which we had used on several occasions before. The last two years before the oven stopped working all together the convection oven didnt cook evenly. This is the absolutely biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased! About the only thing I think this range is good for is to use it as a boat anchor! KitchenAide/Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to produce such a faulty product. All I can say thank you for is that I didnt replace the panel over and over again like some of these poor folks did.

With only 23 months of use, two of your KitchenAid products have failed. One, an Architect series refrigerator, quit and we were told the replacement part would not be available until January of 2020 (not typo). They had only 3 rebuilt computer control boards in the country and agreed to send one with a promise to return my bad one. Done. Now my Architect series oven/ microwave unit has been out since January of 2015. The service company they recommended has been out four times replacing parts they suggested and sent to them, with me only paying the service fees, and it still does not work. The tech department says they do not know how to fix it. They say to replace it. I have been offered a replacement for the small sum of $1,800 for a $3,650 unit I was able to use for 2 years and is not repairable now. It has an internal communication problem, code F6E0. Why would I buy another unit from a company that cannot repair what they sell. Take 5 minutes and Google error code F6E0, there are hundreds of complaints about the same code in all Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands and none have been repaired. Every appliance I have is KitchenAid, never will I buy another nor would I ever recommend them. I plan to post this notice everywhere I see KitchenAid or Whirlpool listed. Before anyone buys from Whirlpool or any of their brands, Google this error code first.

Ok, so for the 2nd time in less than 3 years, the wheel clips on the top wash basket broke, which in turn makes the basket fall down and the washer inoperable. For the price I paid for this dishwasher I will tell you that I was a little more than miffed. The last time it happened, I called my home insurance company out because I did not have the time to deal with the washer (that cost me $70). This time I went online to see about ordering parts. I found this site (and after reading through numerous comments) I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in KitchenAid, especially when I see so many people experiencing the same problem as me. This is obviously a design flaw that needs fixing. So, why did I give them a rating of three? Because upon calling the company to lodge a complaint, I talked with a VERY nice, young lady who worked with me to figure out exactly which part I needed. No stalling, no dodging, she took care of business, put my parts on order and all with no charge to me. Her professionalism is the reason why I gave this a 3 star rating. I have found from experience that when a company has a problem with a product, if you call them (and stay courteous) 9 out of 10 times they will do what it takes to make it right. The lady I talked to was named ** and I am hoping that her supervisor sees this email. Again, thank you ** for your help and professionalism. Semper Fidelis.Updated on June 13, 2015: To be fair to KitchenAid, I am following up from a post I made on June 6th. My parts for the top rack wheel assembly arrived and I just finished installing them. I am happy to see that they have modified the wheel assembly actually using a metal plate this time and it looks like more solid connections for the wheels. I will give them a four star for now as I wait to see how well this modification holds up. Thank you KitchenAid for getting the parts to me in a timely manner. Semper Fi **.

Why they put the fan in the oven is beyond me. I wish I was told that it was noisy and slow! It gets hotter as you bake also. I would not buy another one.

I purchased a refrigerator ($2,500) that continues to break down, and all they do is send a third-party to (temporarily) repair but it keeps happening again and again. I should have had a replacement by now but they keep stating that the problem is not the same, yet the symptoms are...my freezer keeps breaking and food spoiling. This has happened 4 times already and no one takes ownership. I tried going on live chat to get assistance, asking to escalate to a higher level representative and the chat ended. My wife was speaking with Assurant, the service contract company and they said We dont make the KitchenAid products. NO ONE will take ownership or stand behind the product.

About 3/4 of the potato was completely burned to a black crisp while about 1/4 of the same potato was burned but no black. The fire was so hot that the microwave plate was burned. This was my second experience with a fire in a Kitchenaid microwave. The first time was during the warranty period 2 years ago. The company was supposed to have fixed the problem.

New appliance in Feb. 2017 has not worked since plugged. Have scheduled tech, out 2 times and no show. Finally in May someone showed up and he could not repair it and need to order parts. Parts arrived and installed and fridge still not working and water pouring out of the door. Week later another tech showed up and said he knew exactly what was wrong. He orders parts or so I thought. 3 weeks later now June 12, 2017 and still no part. Called their tech repair and they did not know when the part would be in. I doubt they even ordered the part. Called Whirlpool again. Their people did not know when the part would be in??? So I insisted to know where they ordered the part or how to call them about the part. Finally they gave me the parts dealer. Still no part may have to locate myself. Dont buy Kitchenaid warranty. Worthless. I have a 5 year warranty may have to use as toilet paper. Purchased from Metro Builders and they have completely washed their hands of the matter. Now if I purchase a new car and drove it off the lot and the engine fell out who is going to fix it or do I drive it to Detroit for repairs. My check is made out to Metro Builders. NO ONE IS STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. GIVES A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO AMERICAN MADE. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED. They have no honor any longer $$$.

We purchased the KA model KFIS29BBMS02 in December 2013. We noticed it was rather noisy but we were told that refrigerators make some noise. We have already had technicians out 4 times. They have replaced the evaporator fan motor on July 25 for a flapping noise. That noise is still present. We have a high pitched whirring noise that happens a few times each day. We have found out the mostly constant humming noise is the compressor, as it is always running. We have been told at todays appointment that the compressor needs to be replaced since it is apparently leaking Freon and will hopefully keep working until the repairman can get the part - which is on back order because so many have needed to be replaced!!!! We have also had to replace the touch pad control panel as it popped out of the front of the fridge! After 9 months, we are still unsatisfied with the refrigerator and the KitchenAid brand. So disappointed.

At that time, I should have insisted they replace the dishwasher because it is an absolute piece of junk. Two and a half years later, the plastic pieces that hold the upper basket have broken for the third time. I called KitchenAid and spoke to a manager. They offered to pay for the parts but I would have to pay for the service call and labor. I told them forget it since the pieces can only cost pennies. What government agency forces manufacturers to recall faulty items? Obviously from the amount of complaints online and the numerous complaints to which the service company responds to, this is an ongoing problem that KitchenAid has failed to address. I will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid or Whirlpool product again. I advise anyone that is looking for an appliance to avoid this brand!!!!

We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store
We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store gave us a 5 yr warranty which we used on 5 different occasions. Long story shortened greatly... 2 yrs in we had water leaking on the floor which was warping the newly done wood! Ahh! We couldnt figure out what was going on b/c it both seemed to be running/leaking as well as there was water freezing up in the back of the freezer, until it created a frozen pool in the bottom and started to leak out the front. So I turned off the water supply (stinks to have this huge fancy fridge and NO ice or cold water!) But that didnt seem to stop the prob. First they said it required the duck bill to help w/ draining the water inside the fridge which wasnt covered under the warranty- even though KA had HUNDREDS of calls on this issue at that point in 2012. Then later we found that we were experiencing 2 separate problems. We needed a faulty valve which was covered and the repair company was nice and thorough in fixing the duck bill for free. The valve we were told might have been b/c the water was freezing inside the ice cube maker in the fridge (our ice is not indoor but in bottom freezer on left side). He showed me how the water was frozen inside the hard plastic tubing. NOTE that we DID defrost it and that sorry to say didnt help. ALSO BE AWARE that for us these issues seemed to coincide via coincidence or not.. We are unsure... But seemed to occur when either someone left the freezer opened for a prolonged time.. OR we went out of town for over a week and the freezer remained unopened. Unfortunately, we have never gotten an answer on that one.. BUT we just came back from a 1 month trip overseas and bam! The prob was back! Grrrr.. Anyway... So that repair of the duck bill and double valve seemed to work for 3 yrs.. b/c now we are in 2015 and experiencing very similar issues again. I called our old repair guys again and they told me that KA has changed out the duck bill for a new piece called the goose neck/P-trap drain tube. We just ran out of the warranty of course last month.. So to fix this would be $110 labor, $80 service fee + part $25. I found this website that shows how to put it in yourself. I dont even cut my own grass or nail something in the wall myself.. BUT this looks so easy I will do it myself! See link to Repair Clinic! Not sure it will show up here but google it! Has a video. Im going to give it a try. ** Also check out the threads on this forum **. ALSO lastly.. Sorry.. Wanted to let you know that one of the other calls we have had to make on this which was NOT at difficult to figure out but would have been pretty costly had we not had the warranty was the condenser went out 4 yr after we bought it 2014. The thing just started not to cool anymore! But the guys figured it out pretty quickly and got the new part in straight away. OHH And lastly... Really it is.. Haha. The stainless doors are the WORST of ALL of our stainless appliances to clean. and EVEN are getting tiny rust spots which is crazy as our fridge isnt anywhere near the sink/stove. Anyway... SO FOR CLEANING them.. I have tried several different products and the one that has by far done the best at cleaning and keeping spots away is Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. I agree w/ ALL that has been said re: this machine.. Looks great.. But a total lemon! I will NEVER spend $2300 on a fridge again. I figured it was my once in a lifetime. Im grown up and get the kitchen I want & have it last a long time.. Im a teacher... So the cash is not flowing like the water on my floor. But I will never buy something like this again. Sadly too much $$, hassle, and time.

Superba YKEBC107KM - 2 issues; Door hinges seized and new thermostat blew after one self clean. 2 authorized repairmen failed to fix my door hinge problem. The 2nd guy said it would be $600 parts & labor in addition to the $150 service call that left my oven torn apart! I ordered new hinges and receivers from Partselect.ca and installed them myself. All good. I thought it would be smart to replace the 12 year old thermostat while I had the unit out. The replacement thermostat blew with the first self clean cycle. Partselect sent me a replacement which I just installed (now Im a pro at working on this unit!). I suspect the part is NOT at fault. Its more likely the lack of ventilation in the cabinet space to dissipate the extreme heat created during self clean. The thermostat is actually working properly. It senses the operating temperature has risen beyond what the components can handle and shuts it down. Unfortunately, this solution is not prioritized by manufacturers and technicians. The feature is what sells more units. So its true; more bells and whistles doesnt necessarily mean better! KA will not give consumers any insight into repair of their products. It is a racket that insulates the manufacturers through the technicians, financed by the consumer.

Nothing but crap now. Im sure to leave a review. Also bought the french door fridge and it would throw ice around your glass and end up on the floor. We got a replacement and it did the same thing. We finally had to upgrade so it would stop doing that. Now I cant get the water filter to reset on the new one. We bought the whole kitchen including microwave and dishwasher. In December, 2013, I purchased a replacement dishwasher for my then 20 year old KitchenAid. Shortly after it was installed, we discovered that the handle was improperly attached and one end stuck out, catching on clothes and tearing them. KitchenAid informed me, That was just the way it was on some units. I found that unsatisfactory, so they sent a technician out who basically did nothing. I called the retailer, who replaced the unit completely with a new dishwasher within a couple of weeks. The new unit was installed in January, 2014. It came with a one year manufacturers warranty, and I purchased an extended warranty good through 2019. Since we are at our second home much of the time, and use this dishwasher twice weekly on average, we thought we would be safe with the new unit, which had a properly installed handle, by the way. No such luck. Shortly before Thanksgiving, 2015, while the unit was less than two years old, the top pull-out drawer fell down, landing on the dishes below. We removed the top drawer/pull out unit, and tried running it without the top drawer, but no luck. The unit would not operate without the top drawer. I called the warranty company, Bankers Insurance. They dont cover mechanical parts, I was told. So I called KitchenAid, and the wait was so long I was directed to their website, where I was instructed to enter my zip code to find a service technician. So I did, and the results? NO SERVICE in my area... impossible to believe, with over a million people in my greater metro area! Nonetheless, I contacted the retailer, who gave me the name of a service company. Their technician came out today, took one look, and said that the problem was a repetitive one, a defective part that KitchenAid was replacing with metal parts. No more plastic -- they had so many issues with this part that they were in most cases repairing the defective parts at no charge. That of course, was not my luck when I called KitchenAid. Nope, no replacement. We are not showing any problems with that model! Exact words. Not their problem! But they would be happy to direct my call to the parts department where I could order the parts, and pay for them, of course. I spent over a thousand dollars on this dishwasher, it gets light use, is less than two years old, and it wont run without a cheap plastic pull out part that will cost me well in excess of $200 to replace, because they only sell the entire mechanism. My biggest regret? I specified KitchenAid for my dishwasher in my second home. Trust me, they are not what they used to be, nor is their customer service department.

After several experiences with our KitchenAid Dishwasher (Model KUDE60HXSS, purchased 4/17/12) including flooding, pump failure, control board failure etc. starting less than a year after purchase, I can only say that our voice has joined the chorus. I discovered this website and upon reading a recent entry seriously thought my husband had already gone on this website and written a review. There were many that were practically identical/very similar to our horrific experiences with our KitchenAid dishwasher and the accompanying atrocious customer service. At this very minute I am typing to the sound of 3 industrial size fans in my kitchen drying out my wood flooring and kitchen cabinetry for the third time in 2 years. My guesstimate for all this is in the realm of a year of college tuition (private, liberal arts) as we have now had 3 replacements of flooring, cabinetry, and plumbing. So I definitely hope my daughter is cramming in those college classes, because she is going to have to hurry up and graduate in 3 years as KitchenAid has burned up one year of her tuition!

I purchased this fridge in early 2013. The ice bin latch has not worked since last summer. The bin does not stay latched and come forward the next time the draw is opened. When I called Kitchen Aid, expecting to speak with a customer service tech about the problem, the only option they offered was to forward me to an independent parts distributor. I did not want to purchase a new ice bin or schedule a costly service call if there was something I could do with the help of an over the phone technician. The distributor informed me that Kitchen Aid does not offer over the phone support and my only option was to call for a service technician to come to the house. Is it true there is no customer service support? That is a huge disappointment. After paying thousands of dollars for these appliances the customer is on their own. Also the quality of the stainless steel is poor. I find it difficult to clean and it dents very easily. I had another band stainless steel fridge for fifteen years, when my kids were small and crashing into everything, and it never dented. Now there are only adults in the household and it already has three dents. It is extremely upsetting to have a dented appliance in my brand new kitchen. I was planning to purchase all Kitchen Aid appliances in my new kitchen, but fortunately decided to go with a Bosch dishwasher and a Sharp microwave, which are of much better quality. I will not recommend or purchase another Kitchen Aid appliance.

We purchased the Range along with a Fridge, over range Microwave, Dishwashe
We purchased the Range along with a Fridge, over range Microwave, Dishwasher and even a toaster at the same time as we were redoing our kitchen. Right off the bat the fridge, Model KBLS22KVSS1 leaked water. This was traced to a cracked evaporation pan. The repairman said we should just use a glue gun on it. We refused his suggestion since the fridge was only a week old. A new pan was ordered and installed three weeks later. Took the repairman two hours and a lot of grief to replace the pan. No wonder he hoped we would just glue it.With the range, Model YKERS807SS01 we had it go completely dead 1 hour into the first time we tried the self clean feature. Reading about other peoples failures with KitchenAids eager to help service department we will not even bother to try to get any support for an obvious known issue. Having a look at the internet we were provided with numerous incidents describing the same problem. Apparently there is a one time thermal switch attached to the rear wall of the oven that fails to open when the temperature gets too hot and kills the power to the rest of the Range including the door lock. I sourced out the part (75 dollars) at a local Appliance Parts store and installed it. Needless to say with the new part installed, an hour into the self clean cycle it blew again. I am not about to buy a third one. I guess we will never be able to use the self clean feature on this oven. The Dishwasher, Model KUDS40CVSSO had the pump motor go after a year. Cost us 400 dollars for a new one. Service man said that the design was poor and we could expect the pump to fail again. He also noted that our Range had a Keypad/Display that would probably fail as he had replaced several in the last while. More good news.To add insult to injury, the toaster, Model KMT211OB0 gave it up shortly after the dishwasher did. The rack would no longer stay down when the side handle was depressed. We just threw it out and bought a different brand instead and it works just fine. Yeah, Im upset. So is my wife as KitchenAid was her preference for our new kitchen and she wanted our appliances to match. I guess they do to some extent, they are all pieces of crap, aside from the microwave Model YKHMS1850SS-2 that still seems to be fine. Buyer beware, do your research before spending your money. Im doing plenty of that now looking for new appliances and KitchenAid would never even have been a contender had we known what we do now.

I give this zero stars for my safety nothing can compromise that. I had a Kitchenaid stove up until yesterday. I put the unit on self clean didnt seem like it worked at all. Had the unit tested by the gas company and they tagged it off as a hazard. The reading on preheat alone was high in carbon monoxide coming out the oven vent. I do not know why these products are so expensive when the quality isnt there. The dishwasher had to have the panel replaced within a few months of use (fortunately under warranty then). The gas range KAID KSGA906PSS00 has had nothing but problems. The “Gas probe on” message problem is perennial even though I never use it. I have to reset the fuse switch off and mimic the probe as if I was cooking. The control panel died last year and I had to pay $303.45 to get it changed. Now a few months later, the oven does not shut off; I get the Cooking complete message which refuses to go away and I have to reset the fuse switch. Perennial problems - paid a hefty amount on this set of KitchenAid junk. Wish I had chosen another brand.
