From the day we received our fridge we had problems: the doors wouldnt stay closed. If the right door only was open, then shut, the left door would pop open. There was condensation running down the flange between the doors constantly. In the morning wed come down to the kitchen and find a door slightly open even though it was closed when we went to bed. We had about 10 service calls for the fridge with the door issue in the first year and nothing ever was solved. Hinges were replaced, the fridge was re-leveled, moisture setting adjusted and so on, over and over again. What is the definition of insanity...doing the same thing over and over again know the results will be the same. This was what was happening because all the servicemen did the same thing over and over again without any different results. How much time can a person take out of their day to deal with such nonsense?I started asking for an exchange about half way into the process of service calls and was refused. I kept arguing we have a food safety issue here and this didnt seem to mean anything to anyone. I also tried getting to speak with a supervisor. Denied. Finally, just as the fridge was 1 year in my kitchen I managed to speak with someone who made an exchange finally happen. This refrigerator actually has doors that close, stay closed so therefore we dont have the condensation issue. The bottom line is that I had a lemon and everyone passed the buck to try and avoid exchanging the fridge. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product again. Look for my oven review next.

When we moved in our house six years ago, the appliances were mismatched and cheap. We ordered all new Kitchen Aid Appliances and I love them. My Kitchen Aid stove top is wonderful and so are the built in ovens. They make my life so much easier and more fun to cook with. I absolutely recommend Kitchen Aid.

We have the professional series KitchenAid package. The oven is incredible. Its also a convection oven also, which is like having a giant air fryer. Say bye bye to fryers forever. All food in convection cooking or normal cooking is always cooked perfectly. As a matter of fact if you have a recipe that you have to keep checking on with this oven that no longer exists. This cooks to the exact time specified. I would buy this oven or recommend this oven over and over again.

Our story is similar to everyone else. Our first fridge broke three days after it was installed & had to be replaced. A month ago, something else broke. We finally got parts after three weeks for a broken filter system which caused our fridge to fill the shelves & drawers with water. After two weeks of waiting, the authorized service company flat out lied about not ordering parts after I had contacted corporate to have them expedited. (If you buy the warranty, do not expect any type of respect or sense of urgency. The warranty company does not care & does not hold authorized agents accountable.) Long story short, the fridge was fixed today, but still no icemaker, only water & now the freezer has stopped working & a loud fan noise can be heard through the first floor. Called warranty repair, they said they could come out Nov 27th... Buyer beware. #kitchenaide.

I bought a KitchenAid Appliance suite 3.5 years ago. The dishwasher does not drain completely after the cycle ends. In addition, after the problem began a week ago after the cycle ends everything in the dishwasher has a soap film. Waiting for a repair person to arrive as I write this review. My previous dishwasher was still working after 25 years!

I have an unusual space to fit a fridge into. The KitchenAid was the only one that I could find that would fit. It turned out to be a great value and look great as well and Im very pleased. The interior space for a rather short fridge is awesome. The inside is very easy to keep clean and cleaning is not a favorite pastime. The stainless steel is easy to take care of and I would buy this brand again even if I was not looking for a hobbit of a fridge.

Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer)
Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer) - We bought our fridge in late June of 2013. Its now Early September and weve been without a properly functioning appliance for more than 2 weeks. Looking through the reviews, the prospect is daunting of waiting months to get this resolved.Same issue as many. After a call to Kitchen Aid, a technician came to evaluate the issue and determined that it was an evaporator fan malfunction. It took 5 days to get the new part. A new technician/refrigeration expert came to install the new (and faulty) fan (The freezer door, which was functioning fine up to this point, was somehow damaged by him so that now it makes a noise when I open it). He said to give the fan 24 hours to cool the machine. A day later it was no better than it was before, with the temperature hovering around 60 degrees. A new technician was sent out the next day. He determined, after taking the refrigerator apart that the new evaporator fan was faulty. He defrosted the evaporator with a heat gun and talked to Rick at the KitchenAid tech line (On an aside, the drawer display doesnt work at all, a whole different issue). Now were waiting a week to get a new fan and no guarantee that this fan will work. We are very frustrated.

KitchenAid refrigerator model #KSCS25INSS01 failed, quit and died - This refrigerator quit working after only 5.6 years. It was the main control board. The fact that I lost some food wasnt the real issue for me. It was the response I received: We are very sorry, the control board is no longer available. The vendor that manufactures the part is no longer available, with no new supplier to manufacture the part at this time. Since we are also consumers, we understand your frustration. My only option is to send the part out and have it repaired. No response to my question about warranty and no to a new refrigerator. My issue is if KitchenAid cannot get parts, then they shouldnt be in the appliance business. So much for the warranty, its not worth the paper its written on. I only wish I would have read all of these other complaints prior to buying their products. Did this happen after Whirlpool bought them out or has it always been this bad? I have never had a problem with refrigerator, even the old secondhand ones always work. Any suggestions how to proceed? It looks to me like my experience doesnt even rate as a horror story compared to what I have read on this site.

I noticed Sunday morning that my 3 month old KitchenAid refrigerator was not cooling properly in the freezer compartment. I waited until Monday to call Whirlpool to report this. They informed me someone would be out the next day to look at it. The serviceman replaced the thermistor and left. When I returned home from work the freezer was even warmer and the refrigerator was now moot cooling properly. I called Whirlpool again and they sent another serviceman Thursday. He said this thermistor is also faulty. He did not have one on hand some would have to order it and could possibly come back in a week.I called Whirlpool and explained that I am without a refrigerator/freezer and that I didnt think this was right. They stated this was the best they could do. I asked what if they dont fix it the next trip. She stated they would come back until it was fixed. I reminded them that I would still be without a refrigerator. They said they felt bad but they could do nothing else. I am frustrated and feel that Whirlpool likes to sell appliances but theyre not so good at fixing them and keeping the customer satisfied; probably my last whirlpool appliance. Beware, you may get a lemon and that Whirlpool is not customer-friendly. My loss.

KitchenAid KUDS30IXBL - Horrible product, barely worked right from day one.
KitchenAid KUDS30IXBL - Horrible product, barely worked right from day one. Never cycles through properly. I would recommend buying another brand than Whirlpool corporation products. Use the internet to find other brands. Whirlpool now owns/manufactures Kenmore, Maytag, Magic Chef, KitchenAid, among others. They are ruining these once great brand names. Read reviews, dont put up with it, find alternatives (LG, Samsung, GE all are superior quality durability) until they do something about their horrible quality and poor customer service. NEVER AGAIN, Whirlpool corp. I will not buy your products. For $630 I paid for this dishwasher I would expect 10 years service. Why make stainless steel inside and racking when all the rest of the components are so cheap, shoddy, they function for less than 6 months under normal to light use?

My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KD
My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KDFE304SS0 dishwasher back into place. Problem was traced to the right hand upper rack trucks bearing retainer failing, releasing multiple bits of plastic and several small stainless bearings into the interior of the dishwasher. Closer inspection indicates that the manufacturer chose to use a nylon (PA6?) carrier which is degraded by moisture and heat eventually causing the carrier to break down. Why they chose that material when so much of the other components are POM which would have held up is beyond me. This will be a problem for others for sure if they use the heated dry. An additional worry is that not all bearings could not be recovered so there may be additional issues due to small metal bits traveling through the rest of the system. The unit was purchased from Sears July 17, 2015 so entirely too soon for such a failure. Clearly a poor choice in materials.

I purchased a KitchenAid Model KUDS301XBLO from Best Buy 2 years ago this month. The first week I had to call KitchenAid concerning the fact that the dishwasher did not get my dishes clean. Stuck on food on dishes and silverware and cloudy glassware. They sent a repairman out and he said there was nothing wrong, it must be my water or the temperature setting on the hot water heater. He checked and said the temp was correct and he couldnt find anything wrong. The next week I called KitchenAid again and reported the same problem. Another repair service was sent and he could not find anything wrong either (other than the dishes were dirty). They both suggested a multitude of things to try, i.e.,Use of different product (used Cascade), adding Lemi Shine, make sure to use Jet-dry, etc, etc, all of which I was using anyway. The first guy said pre-wash the dishes before placing them in dishwasher. The 2nd guy said never pre-wash the dishes, always leave food on them because with the new machines this acted as a washing agent to get the dishes clean... Lordy, that blew my mind. I tried that and had to take all the dishes out of the dishwasher when it was complete and wash them by hand. The 2nd guy also informed me I should have never gotten rid of my 20-year-old GE, that it was a superior product (it worked fine, just was very noisy). I emailed a complaint to KitchenAid and several weeks after the complaint I had a call while I was not at home, from some lady who left a message. I tried to call her back and got her voicemail and left a message for her to return the call. Never heard from her. The 2nd repairman gave me a bill for services and I refused to pay it, so thats when I emailed the company. As far as I am concerned, I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

Nothing covered by the company at all. Wonder what will be next. My last dishwasher (different brand) worked for 8 years with no issues. Almost $700 in repairs within 3 years is unacceptable. In 2013 I purchased a KitchenAid package of appliances for my house. Since last year I have had the repair people out on 5 different occasions and I am still having issues. The model number is KFIS29PBMS02. Initially I was having issues with the ice maker and freezer and the PO code which means powers failure. I was told to have an electrician check the outlet which I did and it was fine. They then said it was a circuit board but didn’t know which one and they recommend replacing both which we did. No sooner did they leave and the code popped up again. They said it must have been a bad board and replaced another board. After they left it acted up again. Tech came out and said it was a bad deli board which is the last thing the company wants to replace due to the cost. I told them ice machine is still not working right. He said I may need a new machine. I couldn’t afford one at this point after taking numerous days off from work to meet the repairman. Fridge had also frozen up and the guy defrosted with his heat gun and said KitchenAid knows that the condensers are bad because they are aluminum and they have been replacing them. Fridge froze up again, ice maker makes ice randomly say a tray a week if lucky. I put bought ice in the dispenser and it melts. They are coming to replace the condenser this week after making arrangements for someone to stay at my house to wait for the repairman.Talked to different repairman today before he came and told him the problem and he said it may not be the condenser which is under warranty still (5 years). Frustrated as hell and think there is class action status here. Customer service at Kitchenaid sucks. They do not care and basically told me I didn’t put enough money out to qualify as a lemon.

I have a built in side by side KitchenAid fridge purchased in 2007. The water input valve, part number w10146431 stopped working but the part was discontinued and is no longer available so the fridge cant be repaired. Whirlpools attitude was I can buy a new fridge at a discount. There should be a law that parts have to be available for 10 years so major appliances can be repaired. I think Whirlpool deliberately discontinues certain parts to force consumers to buy new appliances. Based on that thought I would never buy another Whirlpool appliance.

The silver circular thing on top is hanging down and the door even melted. My kitchen cabinets have been damaged. Thank God my house did not burn down!

We purchased a Kitchen Aid Refrigerator (Model KRFF507ESS, 27 cu. ft, French door with ice/water machine) and in the 4 years weve had it, weve spent almost 50% of the purchase price (close to $1300) on repairs. This model has a documented problem with the frozen fresh food evaporator - Google the issue and youll find numerous customer complaints about this very issue. Most recently, the ice maker stopped working and we were told itd be an additional $455 of repair. The authorized service repairman in our area (whom weve gotten to know due to the ongoing repair issues) even commented during this most recent visit that the KitchenAid models hes serviced last, on average, 8 years. When I explained the situation to KitchenAid Customer Service this afternoon, they offered to schedule a non-warranty service for me (i.e., something I could literally do by picking up the phone myself). After being transferred to a KitchenAid supervisor, I was then told that theyd offer me a 40% discount off a brand new product. After spending almost $1300 on a $2600 refrigerator! AS IF. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. We thought we were purchasing a quality product and its been nothing but a lemon, requiring costly repair after costly repair. We take impeccable care of all appliances/products, which is what made this situation all the more frustrating. Folks, be sure you purchase those extended warranties! You will need them with your KitchenAid refrigerator!!!!

I tried to find the diagrams for KitchenAid Model KDTE204DSS1 to no avail, as they keep providing a different but supposedly similar model. The washer has a pump that whines and screams and now it will not pump. I did the usual, and cleaned the filters etc. Finally with a turkey baster, I emptied all of the water from washer. I then carefully removed the three prong brown wire from the pump. I twisted the pump and it came out in my hands. Once the pump is totally dissimilar to all pump on the dishwashers that Kitchen Aid lists. This does not make very happy. As I write this, should I find/buy a pump in the morning and put it in place and the machine again fails, I look at the circuit board and head to Sears to buy a Kenmore. Kitchen Aid needs to be in the garburator.

First the ice maker then the water dispenser and then the circuit board. We have had repairmen come out 6 different times trying to fix the problems. Finally after the 6th attempt the repairman said it was unrepairable and notified our warranty company...What a flipping joke!!We contacted Sears where we bought the appliances from - useless. They did not care even though the warranty company is Sears Home Warranty, every time we tried to contact them we could not get through and when we did there was never a Supervisor available and they would pass us along to their main office and all we would get was a voice mail box. They finally called us back to say all they can do for us is offer us $247.00 for replacement (of a $3500 refrigerator that is 2 years old). DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! Buyer Beware! My partner and I bought a $6,000 KitchenAid 36-inch dual-fuel range about 12 years ago. Since then, the oven has failed three times, the last time for good. When I called the manager of the expensive appliance store where we bought it, Cocoplum, in Essex Junction, VT, he told me that we had a lemon and went on to say that the company was no longer any good. The problem, according to him, is that the high temperatures of the self-cleaning oven (which we have not used often) do not play well with the complex electronics of the stove. Bottom line: after 12 years, we have had to plunk down $7,000 for a new stove, this time a Thermador with gas only. There is a class-action lawsuit being brought against the company in New York, and other reviews online confirm our expensive bad experience.

I bought KITCHENAID FRIDGE IN FEB 2013 and paid $2500. It broke in 2 months. Then in 2 months, then in 3 month. I LOST FOOD, TAKING TIME FROM WORK AND HAD YESTERDAY (OCTOBER 29TH SERVICE DONE) FOR 8TH TIMES OF SAME/SIMILAR ISSUES. I was forced to buy extended warranty and paid another $300 for it. I contacted the Whirlpool and they said there is nothing they can do or replace the item and it is not their problem. They said I need to contact the dealer or warranty place. I contacted them. They said they can not take it back because it has been used. What is wrong with this picture? How do I know if I am satisfied or unit works if I do not use it? There is no right for customer specially who has kids and needs the fridge to store food? Now I have to wait until they order important cooling parts again second time so I can use my fridge. Can some lawyer help me to get legal action against the company? I need help to raise voice to this. I also bought Kitchenaid dishwasher and after one time use it smelled and dishes did not dry. The company again said there is nothing they can do as it works just fine with smelly dishes. We all need to take an action to solve this. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP TO FIGHT THIS. Every time we use the self clean program, the oven locks up and blows the high limit. This is the third time that we have had a service tech out to repair this wall oven today. He said that he had to replace the blower fan. Its because the old one did not produce enough CFH to keep the oven jacket cool near where the limit is. So, today was another $350.00 added to what we already paid for service calls! I called the customer service number again to register my concerns. The fellow at the other end of the line said that there was nothing he or the company will or would do to rectify the problem or recall the oven, or even say I am sorry. I too purchased a KitchenAid microwave convection hood combo. From the beginning the venting fan did not work well. Repairman did what he could to improve it but told me that it was designed primarily as a microwave and the hood function was secondary. This was covered under warranty. After warranty was up, the handle to open the door broke off at the bottom screw. This was because it is screwed into plastic on the inside of the door, and every time you pull the door open it strains this attachment. So the plastic broke. I was able to attach a metal strip inside and rescrew the handle in, reinforced by this metal strip. However each opening and closing puts strain on the rest of the plastic inner door that gets latched to the unit. The entire inner door plastic is now coming loose which causes faulty connections in the buttons on the outer door. So sometimes they do not work at all when you press on them. I have temporarily reinforced the inner plastic with superglue and electrical tape to hold it in place. But I have no idea how long this will last before I end up needing a whole new door. I should not have to superglue plastic parts in a $700 microwave!

We purchased our home 11 years ago new, with several builders grade items, including a relatively cheap GE dishwasher. We got about 7 years of service out of it, and decided to upgrade to a quiet KitchenAid dishwasher we bought at Lowes. Within 2 years, the plastic pieces of the upper rack started to crack. When we called KitchenAid to get them replaced, they told us that a) they were now owned by Whirlpool; b) the rack and parts werent covered by a warranty. So they kindly offered to sell us the parts. We bought them, at about 1/4 of the cost of the entire dishwasher. Now its been two years, and those same parts have cracked again. The dishwasher wont even come on at this point. What a horrific experience. I always thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid, or Whirlpool appliance again. This was dishwasher model #KUDS30IXBL1.

Two years ago we were renovating our kitchen and took out an old dishwasher that we had been using for 15 years. Still worked great but was very loud. We were looking for something quiet and it was a toss up between the KitchenAid and a Bosch. Sales guy steered us toward a high end KitchenAid, top of the line model, over $2000. What a piece of garbage. Within a couple of months we had control panel problems, then I noticed a huge stain on the cabinetry and called repair. Pulled the dishwasher out and it was leaking around all the screws that hold the racks in on the outside. Completely destroyed the cabinetry and that had to be replaced at our cost. Since then it’s been broke down three more times with electrical problems. It’s cost me at least half the value of the dishwasher and needs more repairs. I think I’m just going to pull it out and get a Bosch. What was I thinking... a BMW or a Pinto. Don’t buy a KitchenAid, they are garbage.

I am extremely dissatisfied and could kick myself for purchasing KitchenAid appliances. We bought a suite of six KitchenAid appliances for our newly remodeled kitchen six months ago. We installed them four months ago. Last night, I turned on the self-cleaning cycle for the very first time and woke to a kitchen full of tiny pieces of glass. A repairman will come in five days. If this is anything like the experience we had with the new dishwasher. We installed the dishwasher and I ran a load of dishes. All of a sudden, I noticed water gushing (damaged new hardwood floor), faulty part. It was three weeks before it was fixed. I ran two loads of dishes and the door latch stuck. A repairman came out two weeks later and used a tool to pick out the latch. He told my husband to pick out the latch if it did it again. I did not feel so good about that. One load and the same thing happened again. We called for repair, and it is two weeks before they can come out. We didnt hear from them in two weeks, so my husband called the service department and then the salesman. The third week, the part came in and they said the part was faulty. Now we have to wait for another two weeks before they come out and replace the faulty part. The dishwasher is working now and the oven glass exploded during the cleaning cycle. I feel like I lit a match to $10,300. I have read the comments listed and feel this exploding glass is an extreme safety issue. And to think I was so proud of my Kitchen Aid appliances. Why does this company not care about their reputation and customer satisfaction? What a headache and heartache. I wish I could turn back the clock and that money would have gone to another manufacturer that stands behind their product and cares about customer satisfaction.

The KitchenAid refrigerator we have is just over 1 yr old, 6 weeks over 1 year. With no warning, when opening the pantry drawer inside the fridge, the pantry drawer lid just dropped off - a piece of plastic (end cap) holding that lid just snapped off. My girlfriend had the same thing happen with hers and predicted this when she saw what we bought. I did not expect it to happen so soon (especially as we no longer have kids home), a mere 6 weeks past the one year mark!! Kitchen Aid calls it cosmetic as we still have a refrigerator though this lid piece can no longer be in place... Im not happy. I first called a parts supplier and they knew exactly what piece it was as they are continually supplying this piece to customers as they know it to be a weak design.

I have a kitchenaid (owned by whirlpool) refrigerator. It is a built in unit that cost almost 8k when purchased six years ago. A small electric board went out on the unit. In contacting whirlpool I was told that the board was not made any more and the only way to resolve my issue was to receive a prorated amount against the purchase of a new Whirlpool refrigerator. I was sent to a review board who got back to me within a couple weeks to relate to me I could purchase a new unit from them (I will never purchase another Whirlpool product ever again) and can get a 1,500 credit toward a new unit. So if you buy anything from these people dont expect it to last. Not only does it break but it is irreparable. Not to mention it is a racket. Think about it, they sell you an over-priced unit that to their own admission only last 6 years and then they hook you to keep buying from them. Crooks!!!

This is my second built-in KitchenAid Refrigerator. The first one lasted 13 years and the second one is 7 years old. We have had a company authorized repair service come out at least 7 items and they have replaced several parts in an attempt to get the ice and water to work. They have finally given up and said that the door needs to be replaced. However, KitchenAid no longer makes this door so it means we have to spend $10,000 to replace this lemon refrigerator.

I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator and Microwave Oven Combo which are 8 years old. The refrigerator went out on 11/26. My warranty was out so they sold me a 1-year extended for $429.00. A&E came out on December 3 to fix the refrigerator. The repair guy said it was the circuit board and would order it. He said it would take 1 week to get the part. The part never showed up and A&E called to find out if I received the part. The repair guy told me to move the fan to keep the refrigerator cool. He told me the part is back ordered until January 19. Now I am out of a refrigerator and freezer. I lost over $400 in food. I called KitchenAid back to get a tracking number for the part. They told me the part is due in on December 19th so I booked another appointment. After 15 calls to A&E and KitchenAid, I found out the part is now discontinued! And the reason is that KitchenAid stopped making it. But the system had a glitch and no one knew it was not coming in. Four weeks and still there is no working refrigerator. A&E came out to pull the circuit board to have it rebuilt. Another week before its fixed or is it? I called to get some sort of compensation and answers but again no one knows what is going on. I got mixed answers to my questions. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance! Then the spring on my microwave/oven went out. They sold me another warranty for $350.

Refrigerator model KRSC700HPS just over 1 year old. Has been icing up inside the freezer and refrigerator causing air blockage so temp of refrigeration at 60 degrees. Told by repair service that they first need to replace thermostat and fan units. Then if ice repeats have to replace the control unit. All parts on backorder so have to do without the refrigerator for who knows how long. Repairman said even a replaced control unit may not fix the problem. Over $2,300 loss. Just learned that there is a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool regarding this problem with defective Control Units causing ice build-up in many of their different branded refrigerators.

I owned a KitchenAid gas stove (model KGSA906PSS) since 2005. The control board has been replaced twice. The first problem I had I could not turn the stove off. The second problem was I could not turn the stove off, had to use the house circuit breaker. The final problem occurred today, I heard a continuous beeping sound in the kitchen and the stove was burning. The control panel was not on, the stove was extremely hot, smoke filled the kitchen and there was a continuous red glow on the back wall, inside the stove. I turned off the main breaker and call New York Bravest. If we were not home at the time our home would have surely been damaged by fire. I also have a nonworking Kitchen Aid (model KHMS155lSS) that has been serviced three times, no heat. Pay close attention to your appliances by Kitchen Aid. PROTECT YOUR FAMILY.

I own 4 KitchenAid appliances, all 7 years old and all have needed repair. The microwave door spring broke, as well as the dishwasher door spring after the warranty. The refrigerator needed the entire electronic board and fan replacement, of course after the warranty. Lastly, the oven. But it was repaired while under warranty. We are 2 adults, no children and live in this home 6 months a year. I asked KitchenAid if there was a recall. The answer was no! So, I am not very happy about KitchenAid appliances and will not recommend or ever purchase Whirlpool products again. Not happy to say the least.

I have mixed emotions on this as it has been a great dishwasher. Used probably every day for 7 or so years. No problems. Then my wife comes home from walking the dog... she had started the dishwasher 15 minutes before. Smoke was pouring from the top of the dishwasher.... but no lights or sound. Smoke dissipated but really smelled bad. I got home, took apart and the control panel was 1/2 charred. I check the internet and find that a lot of people have had this happen. Its a good thing it didnt start the house on fire. I figured I would just buy a new control panel and wire harness but the wife refuses to have the thing in the house anymore.

KDRS483VSS - DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID RANGES!! They dont know how to repair them and their policy is not to replace them but to repair them. I am talking about an $8000 dual fuel range that I have waited years to purchase only to find out that once it was delivered the only thing working properly was the gas top. This is a very classy looking expensive piece of JUNK metal. The hinges on the large oven dont pull the door closed enough to turn off the oven light and you have to press the door in to turn light off. I now have no working ovens at all and this was through the Thanksgiving Holidays. No one cared!!! The oven shows several error codes and now just does nothing. I thought that KitchenAid was a reputable company but that is not the case. This is a known problem with these units. After many complaints still no results!!

I have owned the KitchenAid Pro Scrub for two years. I purchased on the previous reputation of KitchenAid, and what a complete disappointment. What I was told about the dishwasher was, it is quiet, heats water to ultimate sanitation, no need to rinse, with garbage disposal, high powered, is an excellent option... the dishes have not gotten cleaned even pre-rinsing from day 1. Called the company I purchased the dishwasher from and the claim is I was not using the correct chemicals to clean the dishes. Really? I was told the dishwasher was the top product for cleaning the dishes... not chemicals. The dishwasher was somewhat quiet at the beginning but progressively became noisy, cleans off and on, and now, water does not make it up to the top basket. Followed the troubleshooting recommendations to check for blockages, although I always pre-rinse. No blockage; however, no water is getting to the top basket. Even tried dropping the basket to the lower setting and no luck. The top basket drops down and forward. The plastic pieces to the top sprayer in the back of the dishwasher does not line up properly, the plastic piece on the back is possibly warped. This is a very bad product.

3 years ago we bought a new KitchenAid energy star KUDC101XSS. It has never worked properly ..The washer completes its cycle only 1 time out of 10. The 1st month that we owned it, Sears Appliance Repair came to fix the problem. Completed the cycle a few times and then back to cutting off mid cycle. Repair call #2: same result. Finally, a new Mother Board was installed. Even with a new control board (new brains) the machine continues to cut off before the soap has dissolved. We then signed up for the extended warranty and when the repairman came out again the $$$ coverage of our contract was used up. For 3 years, weve have to hit the resume button several times during the cycle or cancel/drain and then restart the cycle. It still will not complete the cycle and never dries the dishes. Recently, Sears had the nerve to call to renew our extended warranty. We have decided that when it completely stops operating, well just throw it off the back and watch it roll down our back hillside. If a class action lawsuit is ever begun against KitchenAid, we will certainly join the ranks.

We bought our oven in 2008 and paid about $1500. Immediately noticed that every time wed cook it would smoke furiously. Called the place we bought it from and were shunted back and forth between sales and repair people. Then we noticed that it was getting dirty - like super filthy with thick residue everywhere that could not be scrubbed, so decided to use the self-clean setting. I left the house and returned an hour later and the entire house was covered in smoke. Dog was literally choking, and cat had holed up in the basement. Had to open every door and window to ventilate. Called the place, we bought it and got the same run-around.Were not a wealthy family so this oven has been our ONLY oven since we purchased it and its a daily battle. The door has fallen off, the board has been compromised, the stove top is awful to clean and cant keep an even temperature. Every time we use the oven we end up having to open the doors and windows. Total nightmare. Surprised no one has sued KitchenAid since its apparent theyre aware of these issues. Read the reviews online and realized that this was a thing with KitchenAid ovens in particular.

Well, we pretty much gave up on the KitchenAid KUDS30CX dishwasher after the second control panel break and then it quit giving enough water to clean the dishes. The repair man came for the water flow. He put a coffee cup in the top rack of the dishwasher and let it run. Because it filled, he said that it was working. However, after he left, we noted the locations of the sprayers before we closed the door. After running for an hour or so, we opened up the door and the sprayers were in the same position. We did it several times with the same results. So, we decided it was a clogged line of a bad pump/motor.I opened up the area around the bottom sprayer to reveal any filters and also anything else. I saw no debris. I did get to see the food grinder. It’s pretty wimpy looking. We gave up when it was ruled as a problem with the pump/motor. Who knows how many times this is going to happen over its life? It’s just not worth it. I went and got another brand. It’s a Whirlpool. They also make KitchenAid, but I could tell it was different underneath and in the panel. Hopefully, this one will be better as they are known for reliability. I did not get the food grinder because I could not help think it was part of the problem. Could the grinder be putting extra load on the motor and allowing it to burn up?

This in turn makes my over the range microwave door handle extremely hot also. Having contacted them, I was told since the range is working appropriately (hmm, how would they know; no one came to look at it) there is nothing they can do. Kitchenaid Microwave/and convection double oven MODEL KEHC309JSS - I have been very happy with this appliance until after years of use I have to replace the 12V 5W light bulb in the ceiling of the microwave oven component. Because it is not accessible from the inside (as the two in over are), it is necessary to pull the entire unit out and disassemble the top third of the sheet metal cabinet. I finally, after researching for a few days and spending 4 hours taking things apart, got to the light bulb only to find that it is not available locally. I have found it online for almost $7 and an equal amount of shipping. There is no reference in the documents from KitchenAid as to how to change a light bulb. It sounds like a joke, doesnt it? Believe me, I am not laughing. Perhaps the engineer who designed this mess should have to change a light bulb before the appliance goes on the market. If I had called a service man to do this, it would have cost near $100 to get this done! If there is a simple way to do this job, I would sure like to know about it for the next time. Believe me, I questioned all the way through the project if I was overlooking something.

I knew that I was taking a warranty risk as it was going to take 8 months to get my cabinets but I expected KitchenAid products to be high quality. However, in less than 8 months of actual operation the microwave has died and from what I’m reading on this site it can’t be repaired so I’m out over $500. Our Gas Range/Oven is a little over two years old. It has a self cleaning feature, that you would think I should be able to use. The first few times it worked fine, no issues. I used the self cleaning feature in November of 2017 and received an error message, but didnt really tell me the problem, after it was done the oven door locked and I could not get it to open, even after I tried to cancel and reset. I had to call a repair person, since KitchenAid wanted no part of it, since it was no longer under warranty, how convenient. $180.00 dollars later it was repaired, I needed a new part, since the technician said that with the self cleaning feature it tripped something in the electrical system, and he also added that it will probably happen again. So I have this self cleaning and I cant use it. Unbelievable.Anyway, I did use it again, and no issues, but last night I set to self clean for one hour and guess what, it happened again. My door is locked and the inside oven light is on, and I cant turn it off. I reached out again to KitchenAid, and they were very sorry and would refer this to their support team, but no recalls on my appliance are on file, therefore, they cant do anything for me. Unbelievable, now Im waiting for the repair person again to fix the issue again, and Im the one paying for it. NEVER EVER again will I buy a KitchenAid product. It is exactly only 2 wks. since we purchased a KitchenAid French door fridge. Last night clicking sounds were emitting from the fridge to which we could not find the source. This morning to our shock and horror all of the frozen food were thawing out, the refrigerator section did not feel as cold as it should be as well. Knowing we are under warranty we called KitchenAid to try and get service. However, their customer service is also horrible. Was put on hold listening to idiotic music for over 15 minutes with no one coming to answer the call. That is totally unacceptable. In the meantime, we read the internet information saying that clicking noises signify a faulty compressor. This is really astounding considering that the fridge is just a couple of weeks in our possession. We have never had any major appliance fail badly like this and so quickly too. To conclude, we are returning to that major big box store where we purchased this defective appliance from and will have it returned. And we will NOT purchase another KitchenAid product ever again, not even to replace this damaged, useless fridge! Also we do not recommend anyone to waste good money and precious time on considering purchasing any KitchenAid product. Ironically we were told by the delivery person that KitchenAid is a durable, high end brand. It definitely isnt!!

The last time I talked to a service manager, she refused to pay for the labor, so I called her back three times and told her to mail us the part since it was free and she never called us back. Finally they sent the part. They always say the part is covered under warranty but we have to pay for the $150 labor charge. One time they paid for the guy to come and tell us what was wrong but wouldnt pay for him to come back and put the warranty item in!? Our oven latch constantly gets stuck and I have to keep hitting self clean on and off until the stupid thing can unlock itself. Now the latch keeps the door from closing all the way and then the oven will not heat up properly. The one customer service girl asked me if we unplugged the oven and I said no then she proceeded to tell me I had to pay $150 for the service guy to come and look at it. When I asked her why she wanted to know if I had unplugged the oven, she told me, “Well, that resets the computer”. Why wouldnt you tell me to try that first?! Because that worked! They put you on hold for 45 minutes before they pick up the phone to schedule a warranty person to come out. The service company that they used had to ask me how to turn the ice maker on and off. They are completely inept, its been over a month with a broken product and Whirlpool could care less. So if you want to do yourself a favor, buy a GE... they are a superior product and not absolute crap like Kitchen Aid.

I have a KitchenAid dishwasher (Model: KUDI01FLBL3). During the cycle, the control panel caught on fire with flames shooting out of the dishwasher and billowing smoke from the front of the unit. Additionally, the springs also broke on the door a few months prior. As a result, we had to endure the smell of a burnt electrical wire inside the house.

Bought a kitchen high end gas double over stove and refrigerator. Thought it was best. Boy was I wrong. Was 4 years ago November, first the paint on bottom oven started to crack and peel. Call CS and was offered a 700 to go toward a new one which I paid 2500 for in the first place. Since then the top oven doesnt always work and when opening the top oven door it falls off. We are older so its not been abused. Still looks new but junk. Going to go with LG or Samsung next. I am done with anything KitchenAid. They do NOT stand by their product at all.

Purchased new 4 years ago. When received didn’t work. They sent out repairman and decided it was junk. Replaced with a new one. Since 3 repairs on ice maker. Now problems cooling. Schedule service through KitchenAid. Waited a week. Today they said couldn’t make it. Wanting to reschedule next week. Found another authorized KitchenAid repair place to come out. Says $750-$1000 to repair. Tech says he would replace with different fridge. Pretty disheartening to have a $4,000 fridge that’s been replaced once and repaired 3 times now needs replaced again all within 4 years.

Had to have KitchenAids preferred service company out to replace the duckbill drain with a p-trap to drain defrost cycle water as the duckbill clogs and overflows to bottom of freezer and had to chip out ice every few days. KA directed us to use the service as there is a service notice out on this model (so obviously KA knows about this issue), and KA says they have no intention of paying any part of the repair service. I would not recommend KitchenAid to anyone. If we still had wood floors instead of having recently replaced them with tile, the floors would be ruined.

Replaced a FUNCTIONING yet older dishwasher that was 12 years old. Purchased KitchenAid thinking Id get many years of trouble-free operation! NOT!!!! Within a month we were seeing that dishes were not coming as clean as our old machine. 4 months later the entire pump assembly had to be replaced. NOW at 14 months (two months out of warranty), it wont even light up... DEAD... and Im told its going to cost me damn near HALF of what I paid for it to get it fixed... REALLY... The top basket of my 2011 KitchenAid dishwasher has begun to fall onto the dishes below. I called the manufacturer but was told that despite the wording in the instruction manuals warranty section, Second Through Fifth Year on Certain Component Parts, the problem was not covered, this despite the specific inclusion of nylon dish racks and electronic controls. I also purchased an extended five year warranty from H.H. Gregg for $149.99 but they too refuse to honor it. In other words I bought a defective product which the manufacturer refuses to stand behind while the retailer ripped me off for an additional 150 bucks. Needless to say Ill never buy from either company again.

This began just before Thanksgiving. :( Repairman came out since we purchased the warranty and replaced the rack holder with new metal parts and the front computer. Background: Purchased $6500 of appliances in November of 2010. Refrigerator, Oven/Cooktop combo, Dishwasher, and cabinet mounted Microwave. The only one weve not had issues with is the Microwave. Lets work in the order they are listed: 1> Refrigerator, YEAR 2 >> Freezer door would not properly close. 2 service calls later issue fixed. YEAR 5 >> Out of Warranty. Defroster drain line plugged with ice leaving the interior of the freezer coated in ice and the automatic defroster in operable. Went online, researched the issue and cleared the blockage after two hours of work. Year 6 >> Louder than usual noise when compressor running. Called my Appliance Technician, of thirty Years. Diagnosis issue as one or more bad springs in the compressor, allowing compressor rotor to contact the compressor housing. Contacted KitchenAid, explained the issue. Set up an appointment for the AM, two days later. Next day received phone call from the assigned Appliance Repair service saying they had an appointment scheduled for the PM next day. I explained I was told the appointment was for AM. They said no. They made it for the PM. Okay, right hand doesnt know what the left hands doing. Was also informed there would be a $109.00 service fee for coming out to diagnose the problem. Told them what my Technician had diagnosed. Said they would have to look at it. I asked how much the repair would be if it was compressor. They told me it would be a flat fee and wouldnt be able to quote me an estimate until THEY diagnosed the problem. I asked if the service call fee would be applied to the cost of the labor. They said no, it would be in addition to the labor. Called KitchenAid again. Asked if the parts could be sent to my Appliance Repair Technician? They said no, they could only be sent to a certified Appliance repair shop. KitchenAids definition of a certified shop is one that has a contract with them. Anyway. No other options, called Payless Appliance back and kept the appointment. Technician arrives, listens for the noise, He said the compressor was running and the only noise he could hear was coming from flap/door that allowed Freezer air into the Refrigerator to keep the Refrigerator at the correct temperature. I told him that the noise he was hearing was not the same rattling I would hear when the compressor was running. He said the compressor was running and that was the only noise coming from the unit. During the diagnosis process the Technician opens the Freezer drawer and says its not adjusted properly, and thats most likely whats causing the ice build up in the freezer. He adjusted the drawer. $109.00 later, Freezer drawer is more difficult to open and close and the noise is still there. I inquired if there would be another service call fee when the noise returned. He said, yes, there probably would be since the only thing he could hear was that door/flap noise.Dishwasher: Year 4 > Out Of Warranty. Control Panel starts flashing codes. Called my usual Appliance Tech. He diagnosed the issue as a defective heating coil. Ordered the part and called me when it arrived and was able install it the same. When I ask for a bill, He quoted me the cost and told me to use the Dishwasher for few days to make sure that took care of the issue.Oven: Year 1 >> Under Warranty. Cooking dinner, and the oven starting flashing an over heat error message. Attempted to the oven off, but no controls worked. Checked the trouble shooting section of the owners manual and still nothing worked. Not sure if the oven was still on, I shut off the power at the circuit breaker, waited an hour and turned the power back on. Unknown what the issue was but it has not happened again. Bottom line: $6500.00 worth of Appliances and only one of four has been without issues. Will never purchase another KitchenAid, Whirlpool or any other Appliance made by that group.

The light in the oven of our 8 year old kitchenaid superba stove doesnt light up anymore. Apparently we have to change the whole board? Total loss of function for the oven and the visible control area (lights, timer, programs) resulted. The cost of a new board in Canada is close to $500 + installation so it is not worth repairing. Kitchenaid offers no assistance in this matter. The stove cost us $2500. We thought we were buying the best but were we ever wrong.Fridge door bottom hinge is sinking in the door, the door is basically just foam there is. No support to hold the weight, very bad design. I called Kitchen aid and all they want to do is to sell us another door for $800. Believe me, they will never sell me anything ever again, they are far from being the best.

I have a KHMS 2050SSS-2 microwave. It was purchased new in 2011. Very little use. In the middle of the night my smoke alarm went off. The kitchen was lit up like somebody was running a arc welder. The microwave was running even though no one was using it. I tried turning it off. I even opened the door but the thing keeper going. The glass plate was melting and a hole was burning through the bottom. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. My wife dialed 911 because we really expected a house fire. Whirlpool was contacted. They sent out a repair team who said it was “not repairable. Since then I have contacted Whirlpool 3 times but there is zero response. I find that their could not care less attitude disturbing to say the least.

I purchased a new home in February of 2014. As part of the purchase, I upgraded all the builder appliances to top of the line KitchenAid appliances. Shortly after the initial warranty expired, I started having issues with all the appliances. $9,000 Fridge - the freezer is icing over and leaking on the floor. Dishwasher - cheap plastic bracket broke; cost me $300 to fix. Microwave oven - display panel malfunctioning and microwave light went off. Light stopped working after a year. You can buy a cheap microwave at Sears and the light wont go out for 10 years. Stove - this one is fresh, after you light the stove and walk away, the auto light clicker continues to go off. I would never buy these products again.

Bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher at a cost of almost 1600.00. The very first time I used it, it leaked large amounts of water onto my new hardwood floor. It arrived with a dent in the front panel. KitchenAid refuses to replace the dishwasher even though it is within their 1-year warranty period. They want to send a new tub then have the repair technician disassemble this one and rebuild it from the old and new parts. And, because we didnt install it within 30 days of purchase (because our kitchen reno took longer than expected), their cosmetic warranty has expired and they wont replace the door without a charge to me. The dent in the door seems to indicate damage to the unit before I ever received it. The leak of this brand new dishwasher is in no way my fault yet they refuse to replace the unit. If I had known this was their policy, I would have NEVER purchased a KitchenAid. I have a Samsung refrigerator. The delivery people scratched the outside cabinet - Samsung replaced the entire refrigerator with a new one. It appears that when it comes to KitchenAid, buying American is not the prudent thing to do.

We purchased a KitchenAid microwave/oven combo in April 2013 while building our home. It was installed in December. It immediately experienced an error. We called to have it serviced, but the repairman could not find the problem. The error had disappeared! It is now May, the warranty has expired, and the oven is beeping non-stop at all hours of the night and intermittently throughout the day. When it is experiencing this problem, none of the keys on the keypad work. I thought KitchenAid made a quality product, but this is not the case. Very disappointed that such an expensive product could cost us this much trouble and sleepless nights. Its a holiday weekend, and no one at KitchenAid can be reached. Kitchenaid dishwasher model kuds301xwh7 - This dishwasher is 23 months old. 3 of the 4 upper rack clips have broken. When I called Maytag to schedule service for 10/30, the service provider Bragdon Appliance never showed up. When I called, on 3 occasions, I left messages with no return calls made to me. I called Maytag again to be told they couldnt get them back until 11/7/14. I escalated to a supervisor, Benjamin, who told me they couldnt anyone out any sooner b/c there arent any other providers. I have scheduled service and I am going to buy the replacement part and try to fix on my own. Looking @ the racks they are highly corroded and brittle looking. We dont use high heat or heated dry. We use the silverware rack from our old GE from 7 years ago that is not as corroded nor does it feel brittle.

Please let me preface my following KitchenAid experiences with stating... I
Please let me preface my following KitchenAid experiences with stating... I am well educated with university degrees in science and mechanical disciplines. Further, I completely understand that machines can be complex and occasionally need maintenance/repairs. I do not consider myself a complainer or online-junkie. However, KitchenAid warrants my outcry and warning to other consumers.December 2015 we replaced every major appliance in our kitchen with top-of-the-line KitchenAid appliances. A bad $9000 decision! Within 9 months the French Door refrigerator had two major repairs including a complete tear-down of the unit to replace the compressor. Since then it has been running more loud! The dealer (Anthonys TV and Appliance in Midwest City, Oklahoma) would not authorize replacing the defective unit despite an expensive extended warranty that was purchased during original acquisition. At least, on the refrigerator, we had the extended warranty or the compressor replacement would have cost huge dollars.Within 6 months the expensive built-in oven had to be re-calibrated because the temperature was so far off. It takes FOREVER for the unit to pre-heat. The screen readout on the unit shows the pre-heat is on, Low, and customer service states there is not a correction. This is a known issue on forums!Currently the dishwasher is awaiting pump motor replacement and has already had (a) the water valves replaced and (b) the expensive upper rack assembly replaced because it literally fell apart from becoming too brittle in the plastic sliding mechanism (another known problem on forums). Three (3) expensive repairs (out of warranty) on a dishwasher in 24 months? Bad! The $900 microwave has a mind of its own and often starts running again after a cycle is complete. And, sometimes when we close the microwave door, the unit starts running by itself necessitating the opening and closing of the door 2-3 times until the unit remains off. Bad!In summary... we purchased KitchenAid over Korean brands Samsung and LG in part to support the Made in USA label. Also, prior to purchase I contacted three appliance repair companies in the Oklahoma City area to ask their advice on brands that had good reputations for reliability and availability of parts. All three of the appliance repair companies recommended KitchenAid because Samsung and LG were reputed as having poor parts availability and did not offer training to techs as well as KitchenAid/Whirlpool Corp. does. Well, the Korean companies may have supply-side problems but... KitchenAid has very poor quality problems! To date we have had six (6) service calls and spent $100s to repair a suite of top-of-the-line KitchenAid appliances within 24 months of acquisition. That is unacceptable and I do not recommend KitchenAid to anyone. Avoid KitchenAid appliances. KitchenAid appliance have very poor reliability record. KitchenAid appliances are expensive to repair. KitchenAid appliances break down often. KitchenAid appliances are overpriced. KitchenAid appliance dealer (Anthonys TV and Appliance in Midwest City, Oklahoma) will not authorize replacement of lemon units and instead choose to force expensive warranty repairs onto customers, resulting in big cash flow to dealer from Whirlpool Corp. The dealer makes money and the customer must live with appliances which have lost factory integrity. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID APPLIANCES.

Did you know KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool which includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Kitchen Aid... Pretty much all the heavy hitters from the US fall under the Whirlpool umbrella now. Just keep that in mind as read through all of these disappointing posts about quality, service and general safety. I, like many, replaced my entire kitchen with what I believed was the TOP quality KitchenAid appliances. I bought the KEMS308SSS05 which is a Micro/Convection oven combination. Its failed now 5 times since I purchased new in 2012. I am 4 months outside of the 2 year warranty but the first problems (for which theyve never corrected because it continues to happen) started with the first 90 days.I get sometimes there are lemons at ANY company, we are humans and were not perfect, but a company when realizing their faults need to step up and cure the deficiencies. Thats the difference between an average company and a great company, and sadly whirlpool seems no longer to be or even want to be a great company.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave for $784.00 and $102.00 for the extended warranty and both of those were my problem. The microwave went out and I have had to make over 10 different calls and waste over 5 hours on the phone with KitchenAid extended warranty company. At first they refused to cover the oven because they said it was heat related damage. I have to admit that I am not very smart but I do know that a microwave oven has to get hot in order to work! After I called the store I purchased it from and after the repair company called them on my behalf, they want me to accept only 75% of replacement value. I can never recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid or Whirlpool products because with my experience, they do not stand behind their products or care about their customers. I have spoken to 3 supervisors; all of them follow the company line. The difference in dollars to keep a satisfied customer is $236.00. That is not much for a multi-billion dollar company. I will continue to contact as many information outlets as possible including TV, radio and newspapers, as well as spending time in appliance stores to inform others of my experience. All I can say is purchase KitchenAid/Whirlpool at your own risk!

Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others
Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others changed with kitchen upgrades, never had a failure such as this. Previous dishwashers were Kenmore, Frigidaire; latter was a very basic model; in same residence 32+ yrs, kids (3) no longer part of current household. Dishwasher used 6-7 times per week in household of 2, with my wife cooking 5-6 days a week; moderate use, rarely use heavy-duty clean cycle with present dishwasher. This model has a 2-stage filter (fine, coarse), with recommended cleaning varying from once/2 months to yearly. We did not clean it since new, since we scrape dishes, do minimal pre-wash or none - our usual practice for 32 yrs in present house, 6-8 yrs in prior house. When dishwasher quit draining, checked filters, small amount of residue (1/2 tsp or less), no significant coarse grit seen. Noted no discharge from DW via exhaust tube with 3 successive cycles. I watched running empty DW. Had purchased an extended warranty for a year (3 appliances, range, fridge & DW), all purchased together, all KitchenAid, 13 mos ago with complete kitchen remodeling after 22 yrs since last remodeling.Repairman (under warranty) checked machine, found exhaust pump clogged with debris, failed; emptied some particulate matter from exhaust tube into a bucket, looked like congealed fat, a few parsley & other leafy matter. No hard grit seen. He did say that matter had been pulled past the filters (couldnt say why other than pump has a suction like a vacuum), though neither filter was even moderately clogged.KitchenAid approved a $300 plus sum for pump replacement; their consumer services could not answer my query as to how so much debris got past the filters to cause pump failure within 13 mos. This model does not have a grinder as in next higher model, but again, there was not much particulate debris I could see; pump was not yet removed, so will wait to see what it looks like.In summary, very disappointed with this early pump failure, with way less usage than in prior dishwashers that functioned well for a family of 5 for 10 yrs, and 22 yrs respectively. Believe Kenmore is made by Whirlpool, the parent company of KitchenAid, so the design, though older, is I feel similar. Modern DW detergents (we use the satchets, not powder or liquid) recommend NOT scraping too much food residue off dishes, to allow triggering of enzymatic action for cleaning dishes. We rarely see residue, occasional baked on material such as egg yolk, which we now clean off; no pots go in DW, rare baking dishes, which we scrub off in the sink. So we dont feel this DW was overworked.Writing this while searching for others with similar pump failures, trying to understand why two levels of filters failed to protect a pump that obviously is rather delicate, hence recommendation by KitchenAid Consumer Services now that every month we run an empty cleaning cycle with an Affresh tablet to clear the system. BTW, weve never seen hard-water residue inside any of our dishwashers; the prior two did not have stainless steel interiors, never required special interior cleaning with bicarbonate etc., for any build-up; we get city water, pipe-bourne, just flushed out my gas water heater after 4-5 yrs, saw a small amount of milky flow at beginning of drainage, then clear; I have a water filter at my house cold-water intake; the water (filtered) in the fridge is always clear, no problems with ice-makers over 32+ yrs, no hard-water cum anywhere.KitchenAid has no answer for us other than the Affresh cleaning cycle; we use a comparable DW detergent to the recommended Cascade, not Cascade Platinum as recommended; anybody with a similar problem, either with KitchenAid dishwashers or any Whirlpool family dishwashers (include the high-end Jenn-Air brand now)? Am feeling very disappointed with this choice right now, will expect another pump failure in 1-2 yrs, if so will look for remedy from KitchenAid, or else...!Can scan receipt of purchase from Lowes store locally if required. I have no repair order number, as requested below. Do have extended warranty # if required. We had Sears brand appliances in our old house (8 years), still have Sears (Kenmore) washer and dryer, 3 sets over 43 yrs of married life, 2nd set in this house, first set lasted 24 years, top-loaders, replaced when laundry room was remodeled, now with HE front loaders that are currently 8+ years old. Some repairs were needed, recall replacing motor of current washer when motor-bearing became noisy.

I have KitchenAid Refrigerator KFIV29PCMS/01 Serial K33102532 (Less than 2 years old). The unit wasnt cooling so we decided to call any service company to get it fixed. They found that there was a leak on the refrigerator evaporator. We tried to order the part but there was no record of the part number on the system, so we decided to call customer service and they told us that that part was not serviceable so we ask them to talk to a supervisor for an advice because we dont want to dump a refrigerator that was barely new. Finally they had someone from the service depart. calling and telling us that of course the unit can be service but it has to be service by them, because they warranty the sealed system for several years and that was part of the sealed system. They got all my info. Never heard from then. I tried to call back many times to find out for a solution. They make you wait... Then I tried the call me back option and yes they call you back and then they make you wait... and then they redirect your call and then they make you wait... and they redirect your call again. Conclusion Im stucked with a new broken refrigerator. They wont let you solved the problem not even if you pay for it and they dont freaking care. Really sad for such a big corporation.

This refrigerator is not even 2 years old and one of the LED lights burned out. Long story short, technician could not fix it, he said you need a new fridge, say what, for a light bulb??? KitchenAid offers to replace it, oh by the way it will cost you $600.00 because it is out of warranty. I ask KitchenAid if they are for real, $600.00 for a light bulb, are you kidding me. Everything else on the fridge works but the LED lights. Poor design such that the connector pulls off the wires that are buried inside the cabinet and the modern techs do not know how to repair, therefore, need new fridge is the answer. Do not buy this fridge if you want something that lasts. Also do not bother to call KitchenAid customer service, they are no help at all. I bought this fridge, a double oven and a dishwasher, all at the same time. I will never buy KitchenAid again.

I purchased a KitchenAid induction double oven range, model KSIB900ESS1 through my home builder, who installed it in July 2017. We moved into the home August 1. It worked correctly until October, although the induction burners make a lot of noise. In October the ovens quit working. We called KitchenAid, who sent an appliance repairman out in two days. A week later we hear nothing from the appliance guy. After several calls, I found out that the part that needed replaced did not exist. Confused, I called KitchenAid again and asked for another repairman. This one came out, found the problem, and located a replacement board within a week. I preheated the top oven two hours after he left and both of the ovens quit again. It is now a week later (tomorrow will be a month without an oven) and we are no further along in getting this fixed. Added to that: today I received a large box on my doorstep from KitchenAid (which I did not order) that I think might contain pots and pans that I dont need. Im afraid to open it because I dont want them saying I accepted pots and pans in lieu of a workable oven. What the heck is going on with this company?? Two days til Thanksgiving but we wont be able to cook anything in the oven this year. Thank goodness the range still works or wed be eating microwaved everything.

I have purchased two KitchenAid gas ranges (yes, I should have learned my lesson the first time!). Both have been seriously problematic. Within a year of purchase, both locked up when I cleaned them for the first time, and I could not use them without a tech coming to my house to repair. One of those ranges had a faulty fan which did damage to another part due to overheating during the cleaning process, which resulted in damage to other parts! Most recently, the electronic range control on my Architect II went on my three-year-old gas range. So back to the repair techs. I will never purchase another KitchenAid stove. Based upon my experience and that of others, they are simply poorly manufactured and not reputable. Repair costs are ridiculous and I am thinking of replacing mine due to the high repair costs and lack of faith in this happening once again, at a time when I really need to use the stove!

We bought Model # KRFC300ESS01. Plug it in and two weeks later wasnt cooling in the refrigerator, but the freezer was freezing over, lost all of our food. KitchenAid sent out repair service, ordered parts replaced and said it was fixed and here we are 2 weeks later with the same thing happening again. Now kitchenaid wants to send out another repair service and order more parts. 3 months with no refrigerator, however we still have to make our payments. We lost 2 complete refrigerators full of food and endless amounts of money eating out. So Sad KitchenAid another American company goes down the tubes with no responsibility towards their customers. I guess the $4500.00 we spent on the full package means nothing.

We purchased a KitchenAid two drawer dishwasher in November 2011. Soon after install and a couple wash cycles, the machine began to make loud (heard throughout our entire home) noises during both the wash and dry cycles. Our dealer was contacted and our first repair completed. Now after three repairs with no success and multiple calls to KitchenAid, we are left with an obscenely loud machine that basically just houses dishes. The machine does not clean nor dry and makes such awful noises that we are left to hand wash our dishes. And when we absolutely must run the machine, we do so when we are leaving the home so we do not have to hear the noise. After yet another call to customer service today, I was told that our replacement request was denied and yet another service call would have to be scheduled. The quality of this machine and your customer service are unacceptable. If I could return all my KitchenAid appliances and never have to deal with your company again, I would.

Ive owned my KitchenAid Refrigerator since 2011. In 2014 I had a problem with water build up on the freezer floor, and it cost $150 for repair. A drain hole clogs up and they have to replace and clean it out. It has been 18 months and it has happened again. Im very disappointed. I never spent repair $$ on a previous KitchenAid Refrigerator.

My fridge is great. Sturdy, sleek & keeps my food fresh. Freshness is important to me and my family. Just the right size! Not too big or too small. With three people in our house that drink different flavors of soda, all three 12 packs fit!!!
