I purchased $12,000 in appliances a year ago during a remodel of my existing kitchen. Since day one, the commercial gas stove has been a problem. I had more than five repairs and every time, it would start something new to go wrong. One afternoon, I thought I smelled smoke and when I turned around, the entire electronic portion of the stove was on fire. After extinguishing the fire, I called the distributor and was told Whirlpool will replace the stove immediately and we will cover the expense of the installation. That was seven weeks ago, no stove, so phone call from Whirlpool, no reciprocation for my patience. Yesterday, I was told that it is probably back-ordered. ** Whirlpool, my house could have burned down if I had not been there and yet seven weeks later, I am still waiting? Never again will I buy another Whirlpool product and especially KitchenAid. Im still without a stove in a $50K remodeling job. I have called an attorney so dont bother with a phone call.

My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher
My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher. I must be going crazy because I can hardly believe that a dishwasher cant wash dishes! Ive been pulling my hair out for 4 years trying to figure out why my dishes are so bad. I have convinced myself its our hard water (although we have a water softener) or the lack of phosphates in the detergents (I only use powder) and I even bought some contraband phosphate commercial detergent form amazon... No luck.I have to show you how bad my glasses are, so bad my kids have stopped using them because they are dirty. A lot of it appears to be etching, some is a film that can be scraped off with a razor, but none will come off with a scrubber or soap. This build up is an endless cycle of more crap sticking to it with every wash! I hand wash glasses all the time and refuse to buy another set of new glasses only to ruin them.I must say other than the door hinge cords breaking I havent had the misfortune of ANY broken parts or broken controls (crossing fingers!). I use my dishwasher every day. I do have a tip on the door hinge. DO NOT pay a repair person to do it. The part is $15 and 15-30 minutes of your time. Also note that we installed generic parts and we ended up with the loudest creaky door you have ever heard. The fix was to put the OLD wheels on the new part, and it worked like a charm (apparently the new wheels are made from a different plastic!) My request from fellow consumers... What dishwasher will you replace yours with? I just want this to go away!!!

This refrigerator is not even 2 years old and one of the LED lights burned out. Long story short, technician could not fix it, he said you need a new fridge, say what, for a light bulb??? KitchenAid offers to replace it, oh by the way it will cost you $600.00 because it is out of warranty. I ask KitchenAid if they are for real, $600.00 for a light bulb, are you kidding me. Everything else on the fridge works but the LED lights. Poor design such that the connector pulls off the wires that are buried inside the cabinet and the modern techs do not know how to repair, therefore, need new fridge is the answer. Do not buy this fridge if you want something that lasts. Also do not bother to call KitchenAid customer service, they are no help at all. I bought this fridge, a double oven and a dishwasher, all at the same time. I will never buy KitchenAid again.

We bought all KitchenAid appliances for our new home just under 10 years ago. The dishwasher lasted just 2 years before it needed replacing! Now the refrigerator leaks water everywhere! We found a sheet of ice under the freezer drawers…no drain plug or anything! It appears the ice was melting all over the kitchen floor! It will cost more to have someone come out to fix it than it would to just buy another appliance!! We’re buying a new LG refrigerator that Consumer Reports gives rave reviews! Staying away from KitchenAid forever!

I purchased a suite of appliances after a home renovation and recently took delivery. The refrigerator (Model KRFC704FBS00) has not worked properly since it was installed on January 10, 2018. The water on the door does not work at all, the door for the filter does not snap closed. The water was leaking so badly at one point I had to shut the water line off. I am on the my second service company and they still cant get it right. And that is just the refrigerator!!! Two of knobs on the stove were bent. The vented microwave above the stove has a handle that gets so hot you risk third degree burns if God forbid you forget to cover your hand before you pull the door open! I rarely use the dishwasher so I cant comment on that. PLEASE stay away from KitchenAid especially the Bella series!! I have learned that KitchenAid stopped making this series because of so many problems but that does not stop stores selling this garbage. I am really upset with Whirlpool, the service companies , the salesman and the store on Route 35 in Middletown, NJ that sold me this mess!

Bought a fridge from PC Richards. 10 weeks later it was broken and I lost all my food. They replaced a sealed evaporator unit. 1 week later it went again and lost all the food I replaced again. Store says KitchenAid is responsible for the food loss and they say they are not. So who really is? You pay $1700 for a fridge, lose food twice and no one is responsible? How could that be??

My last KitchenAid dishwasher was 19 years old and still running but the racks were getting rusty in spots so rather than spend nearly as much for new racks as what a dishwasher would cost, I elected to buy a new dishwasher instead. I bought the model one step down from the top of the line and used it 3 times and today the pump tries to empty the water and it cant. It keeps starting and stopping every 10 seconds or so. I am so disappointed as KitchenAid always was a very reliable brand. I guess they just dont make things the way they used to but they should at least make it the first week after purchase. Pump failed after 9th day of ownership.

The front control panel of stove/oven does not work well. I started the oven and then could not turn it off. It was very scary. The machine finally had to be pulled out from the slot and manually unplugged. The panel off button does not work, and the other functions work sporadically. Mary kept insisting that these issues do not exist with KitchenAid appliances, when there are so many complaints and similar scary experiences from other owners.

Kitchenaid refrigerator model ksrg25fvms - I bought this appliance in 2009 for $1,765. When I received it, I immediately started having problems. In the first 90 days, there were problems with the freezer. When the repairman came to fix it, he didnt do anything. He just said to unplug the fridge and it will fix itself. We continued having problems with it, and recently there is an accumulation of water in the fridge under the bottom compartments. We called to get it fixed, and KitchenAid said that we would have to buy a one year extended warranty to fix it. We did. The repairman came and said that a small pea was blocking the pipe, and that’s why there was water. That is not accurate and he charged $349 just to give this stupid diagnosis. We are extremely unsatisfied and would advise people not to buy KitchenAid fridges; it was quite expensive and defective. It has been giving problems since the beginning, and customer service is of no help. Instead of making people buy expensive warranties, they should just make products that are built to last and that are highly functional.

Purchased a higher end Kitchen Aid dishwasher model KUDE60FVSS3 in 2010. End of 2016 dishwasher was having issues with it not draining at the end of the cycle. Had a local repairman out twice. He replaced the drain pump and repositioned the drain line - didnt fix the issue. Contacted Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service and set up an appointment with a factory authorized technician. Factory certified tech couldnt figure out what was wrong (test was not producing an error code). He suggested replacing the main board and drain valve sensor - ($400+). He couldnt guarantee that this would fix the problem since he couldnt get an error code. I understand that appliances break down, and I was prepared to have this one repaired, but when the fix is a trial and error throw money at it approach, this deems a product as disposable, since its cheaper to buy something new.Although the dishwasher is 6 years old, I estimate that it has run less than 1500 cycles (running it every 3-4 days over the 6 years). Also, in the 6 years Ive had to replace the cutlery baskets twice - cheap plastic garbage. I sent a complaint letter to Whirlpool executives and their response, although quick, was one basically one of Were not prepared to do much. KitchenAid use to have the reputation for quality and reliability. Now they have cheapened the design to where the higher end models are no different than a cheaper $300 disposable machine. There was nothing wrong with the quality of money I paid for this dishwasher, but certainly Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid quality and reliability leaves a lot to be desired. Will never buy another Whirlpool product, nor will I recommend.

I was quoted $350 to repair the circuit board.... my dishwasher is a little over 1 year old.... I phone Kitchen Aid and they said no recall. After installing a Kitchenaid Microwave Convection oven we found that the door steamed to total fog, remaining this way often for 24-30 hours. After a service call and a recommendation to replace the unit by the service people, the exchange was denied by the product exchange department - who did not even have the grace to call and tell me of the denial. After protesting that 24-30 hours is not acceptable for a door to fog over (never has happened with any other microwave oven I have owned) was not normal, I was told point blank that the product exchange department has the last word and it is final. It is a $500 unit and I cannot believe that they would not just exchange it. I am a designer who specifies products often - I will not work with Kitchenaid again based on this experience.

Our $9,000 KitchenAid built-in fridge is 10 years old and required $1,500 in repairs for a faulty control board. The original control board is discontinued (my guess is because they found that it was faulty) and it will now cost even more for the repairman to rebuild the current board. I am not sure why this appliance costs so much when there is no noticeable difference between this fridge and our last homes fridge (except for the fact that it is built in) and clearly you are not paying for quality. For this price I expect better quality control and longer lasting products. When we replace this fridge I will definitely buy another brand. Apparently the fridge has had lots of previous maintenance as well. The company told us that they have been out to our house with the previous owners multiple times. Its shocking to me that a $8,0000-$9,000 appliance could require so much maintenance in the first ten years of its life. Dont waste your money - go with a company that is known for high quality, not just high prices.

I purchased a KitchenAid side by side with french doors and an in-door ice maker. It retailed for around $3,000 and is by far the worst appliance I have ever owned. Periodically it runs very noisily. If the refrigerator door is left open for more that a brief moment, the ice in the bin begins to melt and fuses together and must be dumped. I have replaced the ice maker four times in the six years I have owned this refrigerator. Ridiculous for any unit but especially one in this price bracket. I attempted to contact customer service to discuss the fourth replacement of the ice maker but simply received a form letter indicating that they have no obligation once the warranty runs out. With all the other manufacturers available, select from one of those!

We purchased two kitchenful of appliances, one was the Pro Series. Within a few months, the enamel on the KEBS208SSS top oven began to pit and chip away. KitchenAid sent out a new oven. We were happy. We should have known that this could potentially happen again. Meanwhile, the microwave computer board went out after the warranty date and it would have cost nearly as much as a new one to fix. The hood over the range has had issues with needing replacement bulbs, only to find out that this time the fuse connector was burnt. Too bad the warranty period is over and good luck, said the KA agent.Last week, I noticed that my replacement oven was showing pitting and wearing away of enamel once again (blue enamel). The KA agent was kind enough to tell me I was probably using it wrong and that I was supposed to clean up the large spills before running the cleaning cycle. I might add that a piece of the foil I used to line the rack for the large spills fell to the bottom of the oven and is now permanently attached to the enamel. I have not used the cleaning cycle in fear it will cause more damage. Again, the agent told us theres nothing KA can do and maybe search for an enamel repair kit and good luck with getting it resolved. I am shocked by KAs attitude and lack of support.

My KRFC704FPS Counter-Depth refrigerator has had issues since day one. I should have returned in within the 15 day window to Best Buy. It is super noisy and can be heard as far away as the 2nd floor of my home. The freezer temp wont go any higher than -7 degrees on a thermometer and that is with a setting of 5 degrees. I have a super accurate electronic thermometer in the freezer and it can get as low as -20 degrees. If I set it lower than 5 it can get colder. The refrigerator section has to stay at 39 degrees of food starts freezing. KA has been out 3 times for the issue and they wont help. The techs even brought their own thermometers and it states the same. Their only fix is to turn off the ice maker. I paid $4k for a refrigerator and they wont stand behind it. Also, the seal is tearing and water pools up and freezes in the bottom of the freezer. I have had it for 11 months. Every time the tech comes out he says there are issues, but KA wont do anything but say it is normal. I have all KA appliances too.

I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. Am looking for a new refrigerator and am sure that it will NOT be a Kitchenaid.

Bought all new matching stainless steel KitchenAid appliances (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave/convection oven) about one year ago and have been very disappointed with the lack of quality and performance in the stove and refrigerator from the start. Thought KitchenAid was a top brand but obviously not any longer. The pieces look sharp in the showroom but buyer beware! The stove - glass top scratches easily, requires extensive cleaning/buffing after every use, the self cleaning oven feature really does not work at all, takes forever to preheat the oven. The refrigerator - cheaply made vegetable bins that fall apart (front panel comes off), water filter needs to be replaced almost monthly. The dishwasher is the only appliance I have no major complaints for. Very quiet and does a good job on plates, glasses, and silverware (wash pots by hand). I regret not updating the GE Profile appliances I replaced with this purchase.

Thinking Id go all out and buy my last and final refrigerator, I bought the fancy and expensive, and newest KitchenAid. Within four years I have spent over $600 on repairs (nothing covered by warranty). The first week of the Pandemic it again stopped working. I have thrown away over the last four years, THREE complete freezer contents with this refrigerator. The ice maker is positioned above the mother board, and drains onto it, and the repairman who finally came from the Factory said it was a major design flaw. This FIFTH repair was to cost nearly $1600 - and he said he didnt know if that would be all that was wrong. I have called and written my dealer and the parent company. I thankfully have an old KitchenAid in the back hallway, so have an inconvenient, but cold, refrigerator. Youd think when after only 4 years of wear by two people, and repairs requiring half the cost of the refrigerator, that KitchenAid would be more responsive to a long-time customer. I am so disgusted by this experience.

This range (Frigidaire Gallery 30 electric range model# CGEF304DK) was included in our new home purchased last year. The range looks nice but the oven racks repeatedly fall down causing the food and pans to spill out! This problem I was told was due to my neglect. Are they kidding? Steel racks are not long enough to stay in contact with the oven sides! The racks are not distorted or bent they just fall down. This could cause serious flesh burns and or a catastrophic fire if unattended for any short time period. KitchenAid totally abandoned their responsibility in this matter. Also the convection fan failed to operate. This upscale range is not older than 3 years, its a disgrace. We put tin cans in to support the racks when using the oven. Pitifully sad. The issue I am currently having is trying to get a new control panel for our built in refrigerator. The day after Christmas the refrigerator went out. The following Monday I called a local appliance repair business so we could get the refrigerator fixed. They showed up the following day and informed us it was the main control panel that was out and this part was not available. They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

We remodeled our kitchen 9 years ago. We put in all KitchenAid appliances. Dishwasher, microwave, gas range and fridge. I have never been more disappointed with a company in my life. This week after numerous service calls we replaced the dishwasher with a Maytag. Your dishwasher did not clean dishes from day one. We suffered for 9 years. The paint and I stress PAINT on the stainless steel microwave wore off the handle after a year. The range has needed the control panel replaced 4 times. The off button fails every 2 years. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times. The last time the tech told us we had the freezer set too cold. Can you imagine? A freezer, too cold? There were many other service issues that I will not mention because I consider them normal wear and tear. These totaled about $1000 over 9 years, which I think is acceptable. The cost for the unacceptable repairs is in excess of $3500.

Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator Model #KBFS22EWMS7 in November, 2012 along with a 4 yr extended warranty with a price of $1800. The first week in October 2013, there was a big pool of water on the floor near the refrigerator. Pulled out the fridge thinking a hose had been punctured or a connection was loose. But no, that was not the case. All connections on the back of the fridge were dry. Husband checked more thoroughly and could not find where the leak was coming from. Called the customer service number on the refrigerator user instructions and they set up an appointment with a service person. The service person came out on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, checked all connections and pulled off panels and checked the back and could not find where the water was leaking. He confirmed there is a leak by seeing all the water on the floor, which looks like had been leaking for a while after seeing the edge of the wall with water damage and mold. But he could not find it and could not tell where it was coming from. So he gave my husband a homework assignment to somehow keep a watch underneath the fridge to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. How about that for customer service!!!! Now after seeing all the similar complaints and issues with KitchenAid, I am so afraid that we are in store for a nightmare of our own!!!! Our current plan is to put some type of rubber mat on the floor underneath the fridge and somehow jack up the fridge a little to be able to see underneath to watch for the leak. This is very frustrating and wish now that I had gone with Maytag!!!!

Very poor cleaning performance. To get clean dishes, you become the person in that commercial who must wash the dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. As my daughter says, this isnt a dishwasher, its a sanitizer. What doesnt come clean? A coffee cup that sat overnight (coffee stains remain), a dish that was rinsed and 90% scrubbed that was put into the dishwasher immediately (before the food dries), knives with even a tad of peanut butter that was not 100% scrubbed off. Salesman told me it was their best seller and could clean the spots off a cat. They tell me that for my dishwasher to perform this badly, it must be a lemon. After nearly an hour on the phone with KitchenAid , I learned that if they send a technician out to check it, Ill owe $120 for the service call if the only problem is that the dishes arent clean. Yup, unless a service code/error comes up, Ill owe for them checking to see why it cleans so poorly. Cleaning dishes does not constitute a functional failure therefore dirty dishes are not covered by the warranty. Another call with a supervisor and theyre finally sending someone out and promised not to charge me as long as the technician can see how the dishes dont come clean (not a problem...since that happens every time).UPDATE: A trusted service technician came out today and ran it through its paces. No error codes. Nothing wrong though he agreed that the dishes that were not cleaned were something that hes experienced too. He said that the machine is as good as it can be and noted that the poor cleaning is probably from the new engineering that uses much less water. He suggested using TOUGH and HI TEMP every time and that it might cut the dirty dishes down to 10% or so. Not exactly a rave review and since its not defective Im stuck with a dishwasher that only sanitizes. The tech told me that any decent dishwasher does NOT require you to wash the dishes first; He said that a good rinse that removes the food particles is enough. He agreed that a dishwasher should actually do much better than the selection of still-dirty dishes on my countertop after the testing. But per KitchenAid, theres nothing wrong with my machine. If youre okay with COMPLETELY washing the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher OR rewashing about 1/4 of the load after doing a thorough rinsing before this machine, then buy it. Its very quiet and pretty. But if you expect a dishwasher to wash dishes well, dont say I didnt warn you. When you pull your dishes out after doing a load in this machine, you will remember this cautionary tale. Ill admit that I usually dismiss one or two bad reviews -- that person must be super picky or to the unit was a rare lemon. Im here to tell you that IF you get a machine like mine, and you go to KitchenAid for support, youll be logging on to write a review that continues my warning to others.

The first one I bought was defective so KitchenAid replaced and installed it. Never have I had the dishes cleaned. I have had to replace the toolbar at the top and now its defective again. The last repairman assured me it was installed well and the water was hot, etc. After he left, the dishes are still dirty. I just gave up. This dishwasher is just a piece of junk with a big price. Im going back to GE Profile, at least my dishes were always clean. KitchenAid should not be allowed to get away with selling defective dishwashers. Worst dishwasher I have ever owned.

After using the self-clean option on our Kitchen Aid range, the oven door locked, the oven could not be turned off or regulated, and an indicator light for the probe was on the display screen. Due to the inability to turn off the oven, weve had to unplug the unit, not use the oven, and light the stove top with a lighter. Ive read numerous complaints on the internet regarding this product and am applaud that KitchenAid has not recalled this item. Agreeing to replace a part through 2010 and not pay for the service call in unacceptable. We did not use the self-clean option until this year (2011) and had no reason to question the product prior. It is a very dangerous issue. KitchenAid needs to rectify this immediately.

Even after the microwave is unplugged for 5 seconds, it still starts up its beeping without input or any reason. Each time the unit is unplugged, the owner resets the time and date as requested by the screen. The light for the microwave does not go on adequately to see what is cooking. Due to the design, the window is so high that it takes steps to see into the oven.

I purchased a KitchenAid stove in 2006. In 2008, the electrical panel needed to be replaced. The electrical panel again has once again failed me, and the company says Im on my own because the warranty for electric has expired and it’s not a quality issue. First off, this is an ongoing problem with the electrical panel which is an obvious quality issue. Also, there is a slight bend on the front of the stove which causes water to seep in and destroy the panel over time. KitchenAid customer service could care less and left me hanging out to dry. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and I highly advice anyone interested in this product to stay as far away as possible. This company which is actual Whirlpool doesnt stand by its product in my opinion. They need to take customer service lessons from Apple and Dyson. What a terrible experience I have had.

Our 18-year old KitchenAid refrigerator had been working just fine until the ice maker failed. We had a new one installed. That one failed (actually never worked at all). Considering the age of the refrigerator, we decided to just replace it. We bought a new $2,500 KitchenAid side-by-side, water and ice in the door, refrigerator. Guess what? The ice maker did not work. I had a replacement put in. Also, it did not work. Four KitchenAid ice makers in around two months, is anyone at KitchenAid addressing this problem? Do you think just maybe there is a problem in manufacturing? If this problem cannot be resolved, the refrigerator goes back and I am buying another brand and will never buy another KitchenAid product again. Sadly, I was told that KitchenAid was top of the line. Heaven help us all if this is what is considered top of the line.

While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

I called KitchenAid and contacted the repair guy. He came and said he needed to get parts. Week passed. Meanwhile, our contractor had come and fitted the refrigerator with the custom panels to match our new cabinets. Then the repair guy came with 1 of 2 possible bad parts, opened the box and part was broken. I found out from him that the other part - the main circuit board - was made by some factory in Japan that was wiped out by the tsunami. KitchenAid has no replacement parts for this board. If it is bad, it has to be pulled and sent back to KitchenAid to be repaired. However, repair guy said, We should replace the control panel board first and see if that does the trick.I called again to KitchenAid and had the part shipped to our home to expedite the repair - another week passed before we could get the repair guy back (we live in the country) and he opened the box (part number of the box was right) and said the part that was sent to us was for a stove. That was today. We have now been over a month with nothing but a mini-refrigerator - KitchenAid has been unresponsive and uninterested in helping us. We have now contacted both the place we bought this turkey from and have agreed to wait until Monday for the sales person to contact KitchenAid and see if he can get a replacement (which we are pretty much boxed into, as we have a big investment in the custom cabinet arrangement).Im SO disappointed and frustrated.

A repair man was sent. Upon looking at the oven, he called KitchenAid and told them that the oven was not only chipped in many areas, but that those areas were beginning to rust. KitchenAid would do nothing, stating it was a cosmetic problem. Same with the warranty company. After further research, I have discovered I am not the only one with this complaint. Ive had a KitchenAid dishwasher for 5 years. In March, it stopped running. And after some debate, I finally got KitchenAid to pay for parts (the control panel) which were covered under warranty. One week later, the control panel failed. And again, KitchenAid replaced the control panel. Today, the control panel failed again. When I called KitchenAid, they refused to replace the faulty part. Apparently, the warranty expired 2 days ago. Even though the part or parts have been faulty, they refused to replace them. At this point, I am better off buying a new unit, because the same thing will probably happen again. Oh, Ive been paying for all the labor charges each time it breaks. Could not touch the panel and I smelled fire and then I lost power to the stove. I read reviews about this particular model and two people said that it caught on fire and they caught it in time. I threw it away and I will never buy this brand again. I paid 1500 dollars for this slide in glass top stove. I dont know why KitchenAid is not standing behind their products. It showed clean and was done but kept making noise. It would stop then start, stop then start. I tried to cancel the cycle. Then without any lights on or anything, it kept starting and stopping. The only way to completely get it to stop was to unplug. So once again I have no dishwasher. I will have to take time off work for the serviceman. This model should be completely recalled and customers given full refunds for the amount of hassle involved.

We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator (dishwasher, stovetop and microwave) from Pacific Sales in Mission Viejo in July 2012. After three months, we noticed leaking from the refrigerator that ruined our hardwood floors and contaminated our kitchen with black mold! The technician repaired a cracked valve and we spent the next month living under construction to have our entire downstairs level repaired (new hardwood flooring, kitchen cabinets taken out and reconstructed, walls repaired and repainted). Flash forward two years, our freezer stopped working!! Kitchenaid referred us to Veterans Appliance in Garden Grove. They found a broken compressor and broken evaporator. After waiting three weeks for a repair, the repairman showed up with the wrong evaporator. We then needed to wait two months for this repair. Now our refrigerator is not producing cold air even though set at 34 degrees!!!! What proof does Kitchenaid need to REPLACE THIS DYSFUNCTIONAL REFRIGERATOR?!?!?! We have spent thousands of dollars and wasted excessive amounts of time dealing with Kitchenaid and their customer service. HORRIBLE!!!

KitchenAid® Superba® Series EQ Built-In Dishwasher - KUDE40FXBL1 - Like many others in this column, we spent a bit more money to buy a Kitchenaid dishwasher, thinking that the quality was better. The delivery date for our dishwasher was April 26, 2011. As many have noted, the wheel system on the upper racks continues to fail. The plastic tabs that hold the wheels onto the dishwasher rack adjuster breaks, allowing the wheels to come off and ultimately leading to the upper rack dropping down on top of the dishes in the lower rack. On April 7, 2012, a few weeks shy of one year, and just before the end of the full coverage warranty, we had the dishwasher rack adjuster replaced for the first time by Sears technicians (since the machine was purchased from Sears). In January 2013, two of the four wheels were falling off again and allowing the rack to unexpectedly drop from the upper rails. After much complaining to Kitchenaid, they agreed to send replacement parts (2 dishwasher rack adjusters, one for each side, part number W10350376). The new parts are exactly the same as the two sets of dishwasher rack adjusters that failed in the past. I had hoped that Kitchenaid would have made a design change to the parts by this point in time, but it appears as though they have not addressed the issue. I will be replacing the parts by myself, and if there is no change in design, it looks like this may be an annual task. If anyone knows of a solution, kindly advise.

I asked the customer service rep what they needed to do to have a new unit sent out. I was told, Nothing, your parents signed the extended warranty which states repair, it doesnt say replacement. We purchased a stainless freezer at the bottom model in January of 2013 from a local appliance store. Within a couple of months we had a freezer that stopped getting cold and lost all the food in it. A repairman came quickly and said it was working fine and it continued for a year. Then the freezer stopped working for a day, but came back on. In October of 2015 the freezer stopped completely. We have had a series of repairmen out and we still have no freezer. I have called KitchenAid and they said they would only fix and repair what is in the sealed unit, but that often the control panels fail and that they wont fix or replace the control panel. We paid top dollar for a fridge that lasted two years. There is no way I would ever buy a KitchenAid product again for any reason. This has been a nightmare. We bought all new appliances 4 years ago. The salesman at the appliance store said KitchenAid was the best. Well apparently he must get a kickback from them because nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the KF1S29BBMS00 french door refrigerator actually sucks! Shortly after we had it the freezer stopped freezing. At least this was covered by a recall. Now, the unit is 4 years old, the ice maker stops working. We called the repair place and they came out and very cavalierly said, Oh yeah there is a service bulletin on this. You need an add on kit to stop the unit from freezing up.OK to my thinking service bulletin is an admission of wrongdoing. Poor design in the first place. So since the unit is out of warranty and we chose not to pay for a ripoff extended warranty we have to pay over $430 to fix what was not designed right in the first place! How can this be our fault? Why would we need a warranty to cover a design flaw? Now while waiting for the repair person to come back with the part that they had to order the drawer in the freezer will not freeze. The lower main compartment is fine but the door will not freeze. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID APPLIANCE. Their poor design and engineering becomes your problem.

I can only assume after all our efforts that the quality of the stainless steel in these appliances is at fault, and would not recommend this brand. Unlike Emmas microwave which had control panel on the bottom, ours is on the side. I feel KitchenAid cannot successfully design a venting microwave to install over a cooktop. We bought our house in 2004 and immediately started anew with appliances, granite etc., in our kitchen. I chose KitchenAid because I owned it years ago and had great success. We bought the most expensive dishwasher, microwave, slide-in stove and trash compactor available, thinking it would last. As you know, this stuff isnt inexpensive. We purchased the convection slide-in stove (KESC308LSS0), which died on Thanksgiving Day amid turkey cooking. A halogen microwave, which died six months ago and had to be replaced with a convection microwave that sounded like a bucket of bolts until repair, arrived under warranty one month later. The dishwasher has plastic tabs in it on the slider for the rack that break and fall into the motor. We repaired this ourselves twice with new motors and rack sliders, which now have been redesigned without the plastic tabs. We needed a part for the stove but it is discontinued, so we will have to live without it. Thankfully it is just cosmetic. We await a new control board for the oven as we speak and if we are lucky, it will work; if not, we will have to pay someone to fix it. My point is 8-year shelf life? Discontinued parts? I will never buy KitchenAid again. If we had had to pay someone to fix all this stuff, it would have been very expensive. I am really disappointed.

After looking at various makes and models of ovens online, we purchased/ordered our KitchenAid wall oven (KEBS107) back in August 2012, waiting for over 2 months for the actual delivery of the new oven. Over the next year and a half, we had occasional issues with the oven not heating properly - sometimes it would pre-heat quickly - sometimes it would seem to take a very long time to reach the desired temperature - especially if I was needing to change the temperature during use. After 16 months of use, the thermal fuse had to be replaced. Apparently the oven door has to be closed at ALL times, especially when broiling. Now, after two years of use, the oven is acting up once again and not heating properly. I purchased an oven thermometer to verify this. KitchenAid is going to cover this 2nd repair, even though I was told that my ESP was not currently in effect (which is another frustrating story that I wont go into). I am thinking at this point that there is a major design flaw with this appliance. Having any sort of electronic/module located just over the opening of an appliance that can get very hot was probably not a good idea. If I cant open the door of a hot oven to check on or remove the contents inside, what good is it????? This oven has been nothing but frustrating pretty much since we bought it!

I purchased this fridge in early 2013. The ice bin latch has not worked since last summer. The bin does not stay latched and come forward the next time the draw is opened. When I called Kitchen Aid, expecting to speak with a customer service tech about the problem, the only option they offered was to forward me to an independent parts distributor. I did not want to purchase a new ice bin or schedule a costly service call if there was something I could do with the help of an over the phone technician. The distributor informed me that Kitchen Aid does not offer over the phone support and my only option was to call for a service technician to come to the house. Is it true there is no customer service support? That is a huge disappointment. After paying thousands of dollars for these appliances the customer is on their own. Also the quality of the stainless steel is poor. I find it difficult to clean and it dents very easily. I had another band stainless steel fridge for fifteen years, when my kids were small and crashing into everything, and it never dented. Now there are only adults in the household and it already has three dents. It is extremely upsetting to have a dented appliance in my brand new kitchen. I was planning to purchase all Kitchen Aid appliances in my new kitchen, but fortunately decided to go with a Bosch dishwasher and a Sharp microwave, which are of much better quality. Last night our KitchenAid oven locked at the end of an hour long chicken bake at 350 degrees. I turned the bake knob off immediately. Within 15 minutes, the inside of the oven was on fire. Firemen arrived and by then, the glass front was broken and they put out the flames. Luckily, it was contained within the oven but of course, time for a new range now. Approx 10 years of use was fine for many years but this computer problem of locking and the very hot self cleaning feature just coming on by itself is ridiculously unsafe! Who knew a product could be so poorly designed that it would do this, start a fire by self locking and then heating up to serious temperatures!

I asked around before buying my last dishwasher, hoping to find a brand and a model that would last for some time. Instead, I purchased a Kitchen Aid from Sears. It stopped working last weekend, so we called a Sears for repair. They were booking appointments more than two weeks out. Next, we called a reputable, independent appliance repair shop, and they told us that our dishwasher had a defective motor that would cost more than $500 to replace. So between purchasing the product, paying for delivery, paying for install, then paying for a repair tech to come out and tell me that the dishwasher needed a new motor, I am into this Kitchen Aid dishwasher for more than $1,325 for a dishwasher that didnt even make it to two years of light service.Kitchen Aid should be ashamed of itself for selling an expensive product that couldnt handle 3 washes per week over a year and a half. Their standards and workmanship are not to be trusted, and Im stunned that such an expensive piece of equipment had such a short life. I conclude by saying that I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance again, and I dont recommend that anyone who reads this become a customer either.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (side-by-side with Ice Maker) from Lowes that was recommended by our builder for our dream house! I was so excited that I was going to have KitchenAid appliances, thinking that I would have something that was really going to last and be beautiful at the same time. Ha! In less than 5 months after we bought it, it was coated with ice in the freezer bottom and leaking water all over the floor. The repairman came out and said that a lot of times they are shipped with gunk in the lines. Stupid us, we actually believed him and thought all was going to be fine now. Now, less than 8 months later, it has been leaking water all over my kitchen floor again and it took us a while to get someone out. We are now told on a refrigerator that is not even 3 years old, that it has a defect, was made that way and that KitchenAid knows it and doesnt have a fix for it. Something to do with a valve that is too small and the heater and the line. He would defrost it for us for a charge of $220.00. Plus he informed us that this refrigerator that I (not a we in this case) paid $2,000 for will only last at most about 8 years and that the next thing to go out will be the compressor at a cost of $800.00 or more to replace, not including the service call. So I have this beautiful to look at refrigerator sitting in my kitchen that has the bottom drawer open, it is turned off at the breaker... Oh yes, that is what he recommended and we are hoping that after the past 24 hours, there is no more water in the lines that will freeze up immediately and the leaking will begin again, only sooner. I refuse to be taken advantage of on this. I think a BIG Class Action Lawsuit is in order. I have never thought of suing someone before, but now, I am not so sure.

We bought all KitchenAid appliances when we moved due to their reputation for quality. We didnt get it. The refrigerator has leaked (a recall that we werent notified of) and it marked our hardwood floor. The ice maker quit and now the deli door has broken off. The gas cook top hums all the time and the double oven heats slowly and cools with a noisy fan for a long time. It also snaps and pops when heating and cooling. Our dealer says this is normal. Im writing this so people dont pay extra for KitchenAid quality that is no longer there.

Our microwave was bought in 2007 and it is terrible. The door is cracked where they put the screw in too tight. The biggest concern is that it turns on by itself. We have already had it repaired once because it would not heat correctly, of course, not under warranty! Now, like many others, we get an F2 locked message and have to unplug it or the microwave runs by itself. What a terrible product. We bought all our KitchenAid products--microwave, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher--at Lowes and they have only lasted five years. Even the refrigerator was cheaply made!

My new KitchenAid double wall oven exploded 1 1/2 hour into the self-clean cycle. Shattered glass flew out the oven, spraying all over my kitchen and out into other rooms of the house. I couldnt get near it to shut it off, because glass shards kept recirculating in the convection oven out the vent. So I ran out to shut off the circuit breaker. I spent 2 hours cleaning up the mess. I vacuumed out, but the glass in both ovens that is stuck in gaskets surrounding doors spills out of hinges every time I open the door. I want a new oven, because I dont want glass shards in my food; and what is going to happen when I run the cycle on the bottom oven? It is a miracle no one got hurt, except for the cut on my daughters foot from a small piece I missed. I am scared to death, and I havent had an oven to cook with for my family since it happened in May. I have already spoken to my lawyer.

We purchased the KUDS201XBL1 in April. To this day, we have only seen the clean light 6 times. We have been through 2 different repair companies, 9 emails to KitchenAid, too many phone calls to count, a new control board, being told to turn up our water heater, being told to run the hot water in the sink every time the machine drains and refills, telling us our pipes are bad, maybe it is the motor, the heating element, the control panel again, etc. What we have determined on our own is that the Pro-Wash & Heavy Duty Cycles will not complete. Normal wash and 1 hour wash will complete occasionally as long as the heat dry option is not on. Currently the latest repairman (an outside vendor who in his defense has really tried to work with the company) is waiting for KitchenAid to get back to him. KitchenAid has already told us our warranty does not include replacement, only repair. Well, at this point, I dont expect we will be getting even the repair had. We have basically paid over $700 for a dish rinser.

It is amazing to me that KitchenAid is continuing to stick their head in the sand when it is obvious that a problem exists with the oven shutting off. I preheated the oven to 375 and put the food in the oven for no more than 15 minutes and the oven shut off. I have tried shutting off the breakers, pressing 3, which I read on a blog resets the lock-out, and nothing worked. So, I googled KitchenAid Superba wall oven and sure enough found the same complaint on multiple sites. This does qualify for a class action lawsuit. I am not one for suing as the lawyers make out the best in the long run. But it is ridiculous that the company has not stepped up and helped out their customers. Shame on you, KitchenAid!

I have been purchasing KitchenAid thinking about high reputation of the company. I bought all my KitchenAid appliances (refrigerator, gas range, microwave, dishwasher) at PC Richards 15 months ago. We are the family of two adults, so you can imagine that we use this dishwasher twice a week at the most. However, after 15 months of such rare uses the dishwasher failed. I rinse off the dishes every time before running the cycle but for the past couple of weeks all the dishes are not clean at all after even running two cycles. I tried to resolve the issue by calling PC Richards but all they told me that the service technician will cost me $125 to evaluate the problem. Apparently I am stuck with the product failed to operate after a bit over a year. I am extremely upset that the company doesnt stand behind the product they produce and will never buy KitchenAid products again.

My husband and I bought a refrigerator from Gerhards at 9475 Roosevelt Blvd a Philadelphia, PA on 06/09/13. We also purchased the extended warranty thru them. Kitchen Aid model KF1S27CXMS, 27CF DR bam REF ICE KA, purchased from Gerry Gerhard, one of the owners. It was delivered about a week later, thought everything was okay. My husband noticed that the doors were not lining up, so service from Gerhards came out. First tech had no idea how to fix it so we scheduled another tech from Gerhards to come out. This time he said not only the doors were off, the right door was dented, he said he would recommend another fridge. So we had set up another date for a pick up and exchange. The next one was worse than the one we already had, so we scheduled another pick up and exchange. That also was damaged when it arrived at my house. So we called Jerry said we could pick out a different fridge but when we got there, he told us to travel to his Glenside store for a bigger selection. We picked out another brand but Jerry said it would be another $400.00 which we just couldnt afford, so we kept the original one with a $200.00 credit from Gerhards. Well about 2 months ago, the water and ice stopped working, so being under the warranty we were told to call Kitchen Aid and we were told to contact Quaker City which we did. The tech came out had to order a part, but in the meantime the fridge stopped being cold and the freezer quit. So Quaker City said food would stay good approx 48 hours. The part that was replaced didnt work so now there are 2 parts on order, and this was well before Thanksgiving!!!!!!! We had to throw all our food out! This has been and continues to be a complete disaster! We dont know who to turn to, I was so happy getting a French door freezer on the bottom with ice maker and water. Now I wish we kept our old no frills one! Communication with Quaker City is the Pits! I also called Gerry Gerhard and he wont return any of my calls! Great business ethics!!!!!

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freeze
I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freezer compartment for about $2,600 in July of 2013. By mid-2016, we began to experience problems with the refrigerator. There was water leaking onto the floor after water had filled the tray at the bottom of the refrigerator and had frozen. A certified KitchenAid repair person replaced the defective part. The repair person was very familiar with the problem as the company had replaced quite a number of these. KitchenAid supplied the part free of charge because of the frequency of this problem. There was a service charge of $125.00 and a labor charge of $89.00, bringing the total to $214.00. Within two months, we had another problem, this one with the ice maker. The KitchenAid recommended company sent its technician out again. This time the bill totaled $335-$125 service, $129 labor, $75 new ice maker, and $6.37 tax. We had given the service provider the exact make, model, and description of the problem. Again, they were very familiar with the problem, but sent a technician out who did not have the part on the truck! He is scheduled to return after the weekend. Frankly, after reading others reviews on this site, I have to agree that I would not buy a KitchenAid product again. Why should anybody be shelling out over $500 for parts and labor on a three year old, high end, appliance? Our last KitchenAid refrigerator, which we left at our former residence, was 17 years old and had never required service of any kind. KitchenAid is apparently not interested in providing a quality product, though were paying for one and, according to the reviews on this site, KitchenAid is not interested in providing good customer service. Im frustrated with this refrigerator, which never produced ice as well as my old KitchenAid. Im frustrated with the certified KitchenAid repair company, and Im not willing to become frustrated by contacting customer service because all these reviews have all made it clear that it would be a waste of my time.

I purchased the Kitchen Aid model KUDS301Xss and had it installed in Jan. of 2011. In the first year, under warranty, I had the rollers on the rack replaced (they are plastic and after heating in the dishwasher, they get brittle and break) and then I had the control panel replaced. Shortly after the year warranty was up, the rollers on the rack broke again, and I was told that it was not covered, so I spent $50 to purchase the parts and I repaired it myself. I was offered an extended warranty, and I purchased it because I had already had so many problems that I thought it would be a good idea. So now, I have had the dishwasher for just over 2 years and the rack rollers are broken again! I called to use my extended warranty, dont bother. Its not covered! The rack is covered, just not the rollers; this doesnt even make sense to me! So I called Kitchen Aid Customer Service and after talking with a supervisor, I was told that they could offer me the parts for 50% off - $75 + tax! I explained that I paid $50 for them from a local distributor and they could keep their parts. All I wanted was for them to give me the parts; I was willing to fix it myself! I will never purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance again and I will tell everyone I can to do the same! I wouldnt be so upset if the company would stand behind their product. Its a poor design and poor customer service makes for one unhappy consumer!

I had a similar experience with the interior. I ordered from a major online retailer (delivery was quick and professional). However, while I ordered installation, the delivery team informed me they could not install a wall oven. So, I had to look around for someone to install, and then wait until they could come out. This took about a month. While I inspected the unit upon delivery, and all looked great, I made the mistake of keeping the oven racks in. After installation, I pulled out the cardboard strips that kept the racks from damaging the interior during shipping, to discover one was covering a quarter-sized chip. Brand new, never used oven. KitchenAid just said sorry, its beyond the 30 day warranty, and it is not covered by the 1 year warranty as they consider it cosmetic. I turned it on for the first time today, and it started smoking horribly (yes, I have removed everything from the interior, including the yellow plastic feet from the bottom rack). I also ordered the glass downdraft KECD807XBL01 cooktop (both items replaced 30 year old JennAirs) directly from Whirlpool and the blower does not even come on at all. But, at least that is within 30 days, so they are sending someone to repair it next week. Well see, but I doubt it will sway my view that I am done with KitchenAid.

Wife & I are close to retirement so we bought a top line KitchenAid Dishwasher for about $1,100 thinking we not only had a warranty but would have good performance and few if any repairs. Less than 2 years into the purchase we have now been without a dishwasher for over 4 weeks. The certified repair agency has been here 4x now and the dishwasher now has new: User Interface panel, CPU Control unit, dirty water sensor, motor, pump, tub, wiring harness.KitchenAid will not replace the unit with a new one (so much easier and so much better customer service). They would rather go through all of this replacement and inconvenience. This is similar to buying a rusted, dilapidated car from a junk yard. Made in Mexico I think. Very poor customer service. Very poor product. Not worth a $50 much less $1,100. Never again. Please tell your friends. I will be telling my friends as often as I can. The repair men are here today & if its not fixed, the BBB, the president of the company & the FTC will hear about it.

KitchenAid electric range # KERS807SSS00. I am very disappointed in KitchenAid! They don’t deserve a star! Because They sold out to Whirlpool to avoid covering their poorly built products that should’ve had been recalled or, came up with a seal to prevent control board burnout! This is my second spillover and the dash control panel is burned out again. At least the range does work because it’s independent from the oven, you do need the control panel to operate the oven. I called KA which is Whirlpool now. Whirlpool, simply have a way of not covering any warranties on KA. They always have an excuse. Or, there’s no record of a complaint by me or by anyone else on this issue!I find that hard to believe because I had a spillover and I called and complained to KA within two months of purchase about the faulty glass top (No Seal) to prevent spillovers from the glass top to the bottom of where the control board burned out. Which they did cover because it was during the warranty period. And their excuse was, “Didn’t you read the manual?” Well No Maam! I didn’t! This is the third one in my family, and there’s been spillovers and nothing was blown out!! I should have realized. They had General Electric ranges. At the cost of $ 480.00 plus labor for the part. We will rather buy a new range other than KA or Whirlpool or any other products made by them!! In the meantime, I’ll be grilling out on the grill ☀️????

The tech said that the stove was bad and had to be replaced. KitchenAid fought us on the cooktop saying it was cosmetic and would not change it out. We told them no way. Brand new appliances should not be doing that after only a month. They only agreed to replace the glass top. The tech told us that they are experiencing a lot of problems with this new line of appliances. The new oven microwave unit came in yesterday and the microwave doesnt work properly. The tech said that he has to open up a brand new appliance can take it apart to fix it. KitchenAid has been absolutely unhelpful. My next step is to call up an attorney!
