We remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Microwave, oven range, and dishwasher. About a year ago we started having issues with our refrigerator. First the ice maker then the water dispenser and then the circuit board. We have had repairmen come out 6 different times trying to fix the problems. Finally after the 6th attempt the repairman said it was unrepairable and notified our warranty company...What a flipping joke!!We contacted Sears where we bought the appliances from - useless. They did not care even though the warranty company is Sears Home Warranty, every time we tried to contact them we could not get through and when we did there was never a Supervisor available and they would pass us along to their main office and all we would get was a voice mail box. They finally called us back to say all they can do for us is offer us $247.00 for replacement (of a $3500 refrigerator that is 2 years old). DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! Just read all the other 971 reviews on this website.

YKERS306BSS - purchased within the last year. The oven randomly shuts off and will not work, nor will the oven panel. The only way to restart the oven is to pull the unit away from the wall, unplug it then plug it back in. Unfortunately this is not a viable solution for our 91 year old mother. We cannot find anything in the manual to help solve the problem. It would seem from the website that this is somewhat a common problem.

Upon baking a heavenly apple pie for desert, (we live in the Okanagan Valley of BC) the well stuffed pie spilled over during baking. After the range cooled off, we set the self clean oven on. The next day, we proceeded to wipe the residue with a damp cloth and we noticed that the oven base was badly pitted. We reported this damage to the manufacturer (1-800-807-6777) and it went on deaf ears. Our range is only four months old. Burnt sugar will pit all porcelain surfaces, we were told. That is not so!! We have never experienced damage to our porcelain ovens from other manufacturers. Our VIP SUPERIOR PROTECTION PLAN also will not cover this situation. We would not recommend Kitchen Aid Ranges. We would appreciate a settlement.

The dishwasher cleans the dishes reliably without worry! It was purchased in 1993 and it is still running great! It is a standard size dishwasher with a place separate for utensils. It is the top of the KitchenAid line at that time. It is the standard KitchenAid Superba from 1993. It has a black, shiny front with chrome control buttons. I have owned this dishwasher for a very long time. I have had one service call on it. I hope it lasts forever! The newer units are said to be less reliable and not as good at cleaning. I love this dishwasher. I am very pleased with it!

Installed 2003. There is something defective about this VERY expensive refrigerator. It builds up ice on the back refrigerator wall rendering 2 bins useless since it freezes the fresh food. If I turn down the freezer temperature down, ice cream turns to mush, so that is not an option. I have contacted KitchenAid over this situation years ago and all they do is send out a contracted appliance company to troubleshoot. You are responsible for paying for the troubleshoot and since I am not on warranty, I must pay for repairs. After the appliance company charges exorbitant fees, they say it is a bad baffle, and a new one is installed. I have done this 2x now, and the problem is still there. I am living with the ice build up as replacing these built ins costs almost $10,000. I wish I had paid more at the time for a Subzero. I had one for 20 years and NEVER a problem.

I have read some of the complaints written about the KItchenAid refrigerators to see if we can finally come to a resolve about our problem too. We actually have the same problem as the person who posted on October 27th, 2012 in that the refrigerator is not cooling. We have a Side-by-Side (water/ice on door) model#: KSRG22FTSS01. Today, Oct 29th, I have made a service call and this will be the 5th time they are coming to my house. We have replaced some parts and have spent a small fortune on dry ice, not to mention, having to throw away a lot of food. Does anyone have an idea of how to really solve this issue?

As one lady from Mount Pleasant, SC reported, we are experiencing the very same issues. Weve owned our 30 inch slide in gas range for 3 years and when you brush up against it you wont even know until later on when you smell gas that one of the knobs was turned ever so slightly emitting the gas fumes. I contacted KitchenAid Customer Experience and reported this matter and to see if they have come up with a fix or recall. There hasnt been any. With all the news of gas explosions happening to houses across the country, this is definitely a safety issue. Im hoping Consumers Union and/or the Consumer Product Safety Commission can do something before someone else experiences a horrifying event.

Hi. Purchased model number KH HC 2090 SSS - 3 n 2011 along with all the other kitchen appliances. We have been very happy with this powerful and feature packed microwave up until a few weeks ago. It began beeping and the touchpad but display all kinds of different functions. The microwave still worked so we continue to use it until my wife informed me that it had actually turned itself on and started cooking by itself. Unplug the unit and promptly called KitchenAid. Their customer service was great and even though the unit is 3 years out of warranty they offered to fix it free. We will see how the repair goes but so far I am very happy with their product and service.

I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher at Home Depot in April. I moved in my house the end of July. In Nov the dishwasher was not working. I tried returning it and home depot would not let me. I purchased the extended warranty and had to go through them. An appointment was scheduled for Nov 19 and the guy never showed up after waiting all day for him to come. I was told after all day he had to reschedule for another 4 day wait. The repair man said it was the motor. It is completely shot. I was told the motor would be in Dec 8th and installed the Tuesday after. After not hearing from them once again. For my appointment. I spent an entire day on hold. 10 am to 4:00 pm to be exact to now be told they can’t find the motor (due to covid) and have 3-4 weeks to locate one before I will be issued a new dishwasher. It is now Dec 22. Still no answer. No one answering a phone and on hold for entire day. After now a month of dealing with this and no one wanting to help I would never buy kitchenaid again. Terrible service, no customer care.

This range (Frigidaire Gallery 30 electric range model# CGEF304DK) was included in our new home purchased last year. The range looks nice but the oven racks repeatedly fall down causing the food and pans to spill out! This problem I was told was due to my neglect. Are they kidding? Steel racks are not long enough to stay in contact with the oven sides! The racks are not distorted or bent they just fall down. This could cause serious flesh burns and or a catastrophic fire if unattended for any short time period. KitchenAid totally abandoned their responsibility in this matter. Also the convection fan failed to operate. This upscale range is not older than 3 years, its a disgrace. We put tin cans in to support the racks when using the oven. Pitifully sad. DONT PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher broke down after eight months. They replaced the water pump, which took three weeks. Two months later it broke down again. They replace a circuit board and water pump again, but still did not work. They again replaced the third water pump with no luck. The technician thinks it may be a wiring harness so now we are still without a dishwasher and are waiting for that part. By now I am asking for a new dishwasher from KitchenAid but they insist that my warranty only covers parts replacement and will continue to replace parts until they deem it necessary to replace. Dealing with customer service has been a very unpleasant experience. I have vowed that I will never buy another KitchenAid or Whirlpool or Frigidaire appliances again. We are now looking at replacing the dishwasher at our own cost.

My brand new Kitchen Aid KBLS22KWMS arrived yesterday. Its a bottom freezer, single top door model. The bottom deli drawer kept sticking every time I opened it, so I took the drawers out, to try to find the problem. Thats when I saw that the molded plastic, on which rests the shelf supports on the deli and crisper doors, was very thin, and could be pushed in with just normal pressure from my finger. One of the supports was dented in already. Crisper drawers and the deli drawer are held by plastic frames, with no metal at all. Only the top shelves have full metal support. All the plastic is really shoddy workmanship. I have no faith that this fridge will last even a year, much less 5. Its going back to Lowes tomorrow. I had thought that Kitchen Aid was supposed to be a higher end appliance from Whirlpool. Now I will not buy another Whirlpool owned product.

Bought this June of 2016. Looks great and worked great. Received the ultimate error code. PO flashed every 10 minutes or so. Fridge shuts down and restarts. Fridge and freezer parts stopped working correctly. Replaced the pantry Drawer UI PCB circuitry board and the harness attached as instructed by Whirlpool through an authorized repair facility. Six hours later, error code returns and there are no noticeable changes. Had the evaporator motor replaced at a follow-up date, as the original part was wrong that was shipped. This cooled the fridge and freezer correctly, but the PO error code returned.$800 later, tech support at Whirlpool has 2 or 3 more ideas as to what else it could be. The fridge is out of warranty and customer support can only offer me $75 to help for the $3,500 spent. My 14-year-old Conquest fridge by Whirlpool in the warm garage is working better and has only cost me $45 in parts since new for a new fan motor. The design problem is that there is a circuit board under the water dispenser, and no way to keep any leaking water from frying the circuit if that was ever a problem. Im hoping the next dart we throw hits the problem(s) and fixes the issue.

It not only cleans the dishes but it dries them. I was very tired of having to dry the dishes after using my old dishwasher. This one solved that problem. Other than the few dishes with a lip, they all are dry. I also like that it’s so quiet that it does not disturb us while watching TV. I had it for 20 years, and it was already a used item when I purchased it. So that was my first introduction to KitchenAid and I have depended on their quality appliances ever since. I have not been disappointed with my all KitchenAid kitchen appliances for my oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher.

I purchased three appliances from KitchenAid - a dishwasher, gas range and a microwave. The microwave died and I had to buy another brand. The dishwasher had to have the panel replaced within a few months of use (fortunately under warranty then). The gas range KAID KSGA906PSS00 has had nothing but problems. The “Gas probe on” message problem is perennial even though I never use it. I have to reset the fuse switch off and mimic the probe as if I was cooking. The control panel died last year and I had to pay $303.45 to get it changed. Now a few months later, the oven does not shut off; I get the Cooking complete message which refuses to go away and I have to reset the fuse switch. Perennial problems - paid a hefty amount on this set of KitchenAid junk. Wish I had chosen another brand.

The glass on my KitchenAid lower wall oven shattered (it was not on at the time). When I called KitchenAid they gave me the name of their local approved repair vendor. I ordered the part and paid the high price for a replacement. When the repair technician came to replace the defective part HE COULD NOT DO SO! The replacement part had not been manufactured properly. It was defective. The subject part was the outside glass pane attached to the stainless front panel. The glass was not centered and there was a 1/8 gap on one side and the other side was attached so that the part was twice as thick as it should have been. The thickness prevented the attachment screws from connecting. Obviously, Whirlpool is not familiar with the concept of quality control. The technician took the defective part back to their shop and ordered a new replacement. That part has the same defect! I am told that the vendor has tried several other suppliers and have not been able to find a non-defective replacement part.I never had trouble with replacement parts when Hobart owned KitchenAid! The Whirlpool organization negotiated the lowest price possible with their replacement parts vendor--probably in China--who gives Whirlpool their moneys worth and KitchenAid owners now suffer with the result. IT HAS BEEN SIX WEEKS and there is not a properly manufactured replacement part in sight!!!! This oven is almost twelve years old but for the price KitchenAid charges it should last one hell of a lot longer than that! Model: KEBC208KSSO, SN: XM4400465. Sadly, the approved Whirlpool vendor who is suppose to be repairing my oven door has not bothered to call me back since the first week this fiasco began.

I purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer in 2012 for my cottage from a local dealer. Over the last year Ice has built up in the freezer floor and then there is water leakage. I would get rid of the ice build up and then no leakage for a short time and then it would start all over again. In the meantime the floor and side wall of the kitchen which housed the fridge became damaged. I called the dealer and they tried to give some things to do which did not work. Eventually we got the dealer out and they came with a new valve and installed a P trap drain tube. Apparently Whirlpool have known of this problem and never let any of their consumers know.As we are on an Island it cost us a lot of money to get a repairman out to replace this piece. I called Whirlpool and they did not want to discuss it and dissuade they could have sent me a replacement but would not pay for the cost of the work to replace the valve even though they knew for years that there was a problem with this part. I will never again get anything made by Whirlpool.

I purchased this fridge in early 2013. The ice bin latch has not worked since last summer. The bin does not stay latched and come forward the next time the draw is opened. When I called Kitchen Aid, expecting to speak with a customer service tech about the problem, the only option they offered was to forward me to an independent parts distributor. I did not want to purchase a new ice bin or schedule a costly service call if there was something I could do with the help of an over the phone technician. The distributor informed me that Kitchen Aid does not offer over the phone support and my only option was to call for a service technician to come to the house. Is it true there is no customer service support? That is a huge disappointment. After paying thousands of dollars for these appliances the customer is on their own. Also the quality of the stainless steel is poor. I find it difficult to clean and it dents very easily. I had another band stainless steel fridge for fifteen years, when my kids were small and crashing into everything, and it never dented. Now there are only adults in the household and it already has three dents. It is extremely upsetting to have a dented appliance in my brand new kitchen. I was planning to purchase all Kitchen Aid appliances in my new kitchen, but fortunately decided to go with a Bosch dishwasher and a Sharp microwave, which are of much better quality. I will not recommend or purchase another Kitchen Aid appliance.

Purchased in September 2011 and the motor failed the first week. Best Buy swapped out dishwasher in October 2011. Had some intermittent issues when it would not turn on when we pushed the key pads. March 2013 - stopped working completely. The electrical panel on inside of door came loose. Was not an actual electrical problem so did not fall under warranty. The repairman came out 5 times and replaced the tub twice, the door liner, the door, the hinges and the latching mechanism. There is still a 50/50 chance it will leak depending on how hard you slam the door and I do mean SLAM. They have taken up almost 15 hours of my time. We purchased a new refrigerator 2 weeks ago. The first one that was delivered was defective and after sending out a repair crew that could not fix it, it was replaced with a second defective refrigerator. After spending hours on the phone, KitchenAid sent out a repair company that stated the entire compressor and coils needed to be replaced and compared it to a new car needing a brand new engine and suggested having KitchenAid deliver us a new refrigerator. We requested that KitchenAid either deliver a brand new working refrigerator or pick up the defective one and refund us our money so we can buy another refrigerator elsewhere. KitchenAid refused and told us they just cant help us even though the refrigerator never worked from day 1 and is under warranty for 30 days. We spent a lot of money for a brand new refrigerator and do not want a rebuilt model when we paid for a new one. We have been without a refrigerator for 2 weeks now, have spent numerous hours taking off from work waiting for delivery and repair people and KitchenAid is not willing to assist us or even offered us any kind of concessions to make this situation right. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, model # KUDC10IXWH4 on August 1, 2013. I have been having difficulty with the machine for the last 6 months. My dishes were coming out dirtier than when I put them into the machine. The machine was not using the soap, it just piled at the bottom. I tried powder soap, liquid soap, and pod soaps with no help. Finally my husband made it so he could watch the washing process. The spray was only going up about 4 inches - not hitting my dishes. No wonder I have problems. We are trying to put in a new motor at $100.00. I have only had this machine for 2 years and I already have to make costly repairs. Very disappointing!!

I own an entire set of KitchenAid appliances. I am writing about our range, which I tried to self-clean for the first time on December 23. Dont you know that the oven shut down, and door is locked, and control panel is dead? I contacted KA to see what their remedy was. They are sending out a repairman, but will only cover parts, not labor. I was ticked off. I had a turkey to cook for Christmas and visitors are coming to stay for a week. It’s completely absurd to not have an oven to use. I asked the guy on the phone if there had been other issues reported on the same self-clean issue. He said no. Then he said that he didnt have access to personal records. Which is it? I am totally in for a class action suit as well. I’m waiting for a technician. It’s way to expensive of an appliance to have a repair 3 years later.

We purchased a nearly $4000 KitchenAid refrigerator on May 22, 2019 (KPFC704FSS). Within a year (June 17, 2020, the ice maker stopped working and the refrigerator stopped cooling. During the course of the next two and a half months, a new compressor was installed. The fridge began to cool again, but no ice was being made. A new ice maker was ordered, but Whirlpool initially refused to provide it at no charge. Eventually, the company relented and a new ice maker was installed on July 16. Within days of installation of the ice maker, there was still no ice being made. After more phone calls, we were offered a voucher for a new refrigerator of any kind or a new KitchenAid fridge identical to the one we had. We agreed to a new KitchenAid refrigerator be delivered. BIG MISTAKE!After no delivery or delivery notice for three weeks, on August 17, 2020, a call was made to the appliance store to determine the delivery status of our new replacement refrigerator and we were told to call back on September 16 —perhaps by then a there would be an answer to our question of ‘when?’ Presently, there is no known delivery date; not even a known month of possible delivery. Throughout the past three months, and who knows how much longer, the appliance store has continued to do its best; however, KitchenAid/Whirlpool has failed all ‘reasonable standards’ of good corporate consumer service. Never again will a Whirlpool product be purchased by us.

As above, with normal use, first one, then a second and a third wheel has come off the top rack rendering the rack unable to be moved. We took it out and are using only the bottom rack. We are waiting for this to be fixed. It is unacceptable that the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place have broken already, exactly 13 months after purchase. Our previous dishwasher lasted more than 15 years and the only reason we replaced it was because we updated our kitchen.

I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. Run, do not pass. Go as far away from this cheap as heck product. The product “looks” fabulous but it’s all a delusion. Again, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CRAP PRODUCT.

After only a year and a half we started noticing ice buildup on the inside of the freezer and the refrigerator was not as cold. Made adjustments to the temp settings and still no difference. Called manufacturer and they pointed out that the warranty was expired but if we paid $129.00 to have a service technician check the refrigerator the part that might not be working could be covered or maybe not. A shot in the dark in other words. So I’m checking website troubleshooting tips and this is a common problem. If that’s the case why don’t they show some class and fix it!

I just spent $165 for yet another service call to replace the latch on my KitchenAid range that was purchased in July 2006 from Builders Source in Albuquerque, NM. This makes a total of almost $500 spent on repairs to a range for which we paid $1,346. This was the third call and the second latch for the oven door. The technician noted that the door hinges, replaced in November 2011, need replacing also. The oven door would not shut; it is losing heat and it couldnt maintain temperature and could not extinguish the light. Then, it would not open. All of these are safety and performance issues. There is no response to emails and calls to KitchenAids customer service.” Builders Source offered a discount if I want to buy a new range, but I dont want to shop for major appliances every 5 years. I dont want KitchenAids unsafe, over-priced, and unreliable junk in my house either. In addition to the range, the handle fell off my KitchenAid microwave, the compressor failed on the refrigerator, and the latch, springs, and door failed on the dishwasher. There was a time when an appliance’s longevity and dependability relied on being well-made, and buyers weren’t saddled with purchasing extended warranties. Until retailers like Builders Source insist that manufacturers stand behind serviceable appliances, consumers will be deluded and disappointed with shoddy merchandise and choosing between which brands will provide the least trouble and expense. I expect that KitchenAid will continue manufacturing unsafe, overrated products and unresponsive, uncaring service until their once-respected reputation and the retailers that push these shoddy products disappear.

Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars
Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars. I purchased the full range of KitchenAid equipment (microwave, dishwasher KUDS02VR and gas range, architect II). Fortunately for us, we also purchased the extended warranty even though I thought with top end equipment we probably would not need it.The microwave has had multiple call outs over the 4 years of owning the piece: F2 errors, cooling fans that dont just turn on but partially start then stop then start for a second then stop and start for 10 minutes or so at a time. Its driving me nuts! The dishwasher has trouble cleaning anything. It leaves dishes dirty and the glasses have developed white film on them. Dishwasher has gotten clogged and according to the technician because we have the audacity to use it . We now use dishwasher magic every month.Range oven: First of all, the door lock keeps locking with an error when you use the oven above 400F and you cannot open the oven door until it has cooled down and you reboot the system by removing power, this you have to do multiple time before the door complies. We replaced locking mechanism, now it seems to work at last. Secondly, every time you use the clean oven function, the electronics go on the frizz. Now, we are without an oven again for a week while we get a technician to come again to look and hopefully fix the electronic issue.Through all this (including digital movies of the issues, pictures etc., sent to KitchenAid), the general response has been that all equipment works as designed. Works as designed! They should fire the designers and send the specs to some elementary school kids who could do a better job!I, for one, hate KitchenAid and will never buy another product from them again and will tell as many people as I can how lousy their products are.

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator as part of an appliance package for a new home. We did not want the high-end option, so we were offered this package as an balance between cost and performance. We installed this refrigerator, a KitchenAid microwave, a KitchenAid cooktop and a KitchenAid dishwasher. Of all the four, the refrigerator is the worst. It broke down immediately after the 1-year warranty period ended. I had KitchenAid service people here on three occasions and they changed every computer component (board) in the machine. Each time, the machine would work well for a little while and then it would gradually degrade in performance. Right now, it is not cooling properly and not making ice. The gasket around the freezer is falling off so the freezer door will not close correctly, but the computer does not detect this as an open door for purposes of the alarm. At first, I was pleased to see the America sticker in the door - now I really dont care where my next refrigerator is made as long as it performs better than this very expensive paperweight.

I purchased a KitchenAid French door bottom freezer for a long awaited, much needed kitchen remodel. I thought I did my homework on price, reliability and quality. Obviously, I did not do a good job. The fridge was purchased and shipped in late September 2010 and sat in the garage with all of the other components of the kitchen that were ordered and delivered. I wanted everything here before the contractor started work. The fridge was one of the last things to be installed late December, early January 2011. In the beginning of Dec 2011, I noticed some white water spots in front of the fridge, just thought I had spilled some water and hadnt noticed. Came to find out too late, since the warranty is one year from purchase date, that a sheet of ice was forming in the bottom of the freezer compartment (someone else on this site mentioned the same thing) and then slowly melted at the edge of the freezer door and dripping on the new hardwood floors. After pulling the unit out found the floor board under the edge of the door was warped.I spoke to customer service. Their solution was to pay over $300 for a six month warranty since the unit was less than 18 months old, which I did not do. They then set up an appt for a service call through AE Factory Service with a price of $130(any repairs made would be over and above that) for them to come out which would take 2 weeks. After thinking about it, I decided that was a ridiculous price for a service call and decided to cancel it. I called a local appliance repair company and they could have come out that day if I had been home. Price was $35 and that will go toward any repairs that are done. Makes you wonder why the company that KitchenAid refers you to such an expensive repair company. Do they have any interest in that company? Repairman that is coming out tomorrow said he has this particular repair down to a science, obviously having done it numerous times before. After spending over $2,300 for a refrigerator, the last thing I expected was to be having problems in less than a year of use from a company that I had always considered to have quality product and service. But it certainly seems like KitchenAid has gone the way of too many American corporations, that the quality of their products and the consumer is the least of their concerns. I will be mentioning to my contractor, who is very sought after for kitchen remodels in our area, that if his clients are considering any KitchenAid products they should reconsider their choice. Also, to anyone that mentions to me that they are buying a new refrigerator, buyers beware! After reading these other reviews for over an hour I am amazed that a class action lawsuit hasnt been filed yet. When will companies get it that all the consumer wants is value for the dollar spent and good customer service?

04/06/2018 - Purchased french door refrigerator (KRFF507E). 09/30/2019 - First repair. Refer making noise and not cooling. Evap fan hitting ice buildup Tech replaced evap fan and thermistor assembly (took over an hour to remove ice build up). Tech also reprogrammed defrost cycle from auto-detect to every 8 hours.02/19/2020 - Second repair. Same problem as first repair except evap fan not destroyed. Contacted KitchenAid service basic response was too bad, so sad. I explained that the problem was a design flaw, not a faulty part problem but that fell on deaf ears. After a bit of debate service stated that replacement parts (from 2/2019) were under warranty. Service tech ended up replacing same parts and a control board. Again, over an hour to remove ice buildup. 08/08/2020 - Third repair scheduled for 8/17/2020. Sour milk, refrigerator temperature running about 57 degrees F. Ice buildup again, waiting for Tech to diagnose. Again KA Service response was too bad, so sad. Service authorized a $50 reimbursement card, which covers about half of technician service charge (not parts). The refrigerator was purchased to replacing an ancient (15 yr+) kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator/freezer that is still keeping my beer cool and my deer meat frozen! I will never purchase a kitchenaid refrigerator again (maybe anything from Whirlpool).

2 months past a 2 year warranty and my back burner knob is stuck in locked position. When contacting customer service they had the audacity to tell me that there has been no reports of this type of thing ever happening, and if its not a burner problem the service repair and parts to fix the problem that shouldnt be happening in the first place is at my expense. Only the burner and control panel is covered for 5 years. The odd part about this is, this burner is barely ever used and has the least amount of wear and tear. This is clearly a manufacturing flaw and I made sure that the customer service representative knew that many people are having the same problem and is reporting it online and I fail to believe their claim that this has not been reported to them ever!!! Just because they refuse to document it doesnt change the fact that it is a known issue. I have not had the unfortunate experience of the glass breaking as others reported as of yet. But now that I know about it, I feel sick to my stomach. This was supposed to be my dream stove and really thought I was getting that stove with a KitchenAid product. As far as customer service, they sucked and lied to me about this issue and refused to acknowledge that the problem even exists. I think I will turn to Canada companies for my next dream stove who still care about product quality in the future. Not looking forward to all the upcoming difficulties as my stove succumbs to all the reported poor manufacturing design flaws. I feel sad and duped into buying a Whirlpool product that I hated from past ownership due to poor quality control and design flaws. Then finding out, Whirlpool is using the KitchenAid reputation of the past to sell inferior products that they know full well, will never live up to the superior products of KitchenAid.

Our KHMS155L KitchenAid microwave would just turn on by itself. Luckily, the two times it happened (twice in two days), we were home. I cant even imagine what kind of damage could have been done with it, on and unattended for a long period of time. My husband called the KitchenAid Customer Service number in our manual. He was told that he would have to pay for the part and labor (over $200). I then read through this website and called the Whirlpool safety line at 1-800-331-7456. No problem. We want to thank Chris from B.C. who posted detailed instructions for repairing the electronic control board for Kitchen Aid refrigerators. Our 5 y.o. premium cabinet depth Kitchen Aid model #KBFC42FTS02 had the same problem that Chris described (constant alarm chirping, flashing lights on control panel), but our fridge was still cold. The Kitchen Aid affiliated repair service (contracted by KitchenAid/Whirlpool) told us that the electronic control board needed to be replaced. However, they claimed that the factory which manufactured the parts in Japan had been destroyed by the tsunami and no more parts were being made. Further, I called the KitchenAid parts service line on their webpage and that person (also a contracted service, not a KitchenAid/Whirlpool employee) told us that the date listed for availability of the part was 2020 (which he said meant that they had no plans to supply the part in the future)! The repair service offered to take the part out (then we would have no working fridge) and send it out for repair, which could take up to 30 days - not a viable solution from our point of view. At the repairmans suggestion, we attempted to find a new or refurbished part online and were not successful. Obviously, lots of other folks are having the same problem with their KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Before Christmas, reluctantly we schedule a repair visit to have the part removed and sent for repair. The repair service never showed, despite their assurances that a repairman was delayed but was on his way! After that, we were reluctant to trust them with the brains of our expensive refrigerator. After Christmas, we found Chris blog of 12/28/13, with his description of the parts we would need to repair the control board ourselves and detailed instructions. We were able to make the repairs and our refrigerator is now working. Our cost was under $20. Thanks, Chris - this was a welcome holiday gift! We cant believe how callous KitchenAid/Whirlpool have been in abandoning their customers. We will never buy another product from their company.

Worst dishwasher ever! Never worked right from day one. Dishes from every load still had food spots in them. The top basket is flimsy and the rollers continually broke. We purchased a combination oven & microwave/convection oven in 2008, the microwave recently began to not heat food and drinks. We notified KitchenAid and were referred to a local repair who diagnosed the problem and said it would require a new magnetron and control board, with labor the cost would be $650+, we decided the cost of the repair was much less than a new oven and microwave and committed to the repair. Repair was made, microwave now functions/heats food and drinks at a fraction of the previous level. Had repairman return today to diagnose and repair again. He proceeded to do test as dictated by KitchenAids factory tech on the phone with him, fill vessel with 10oz. of water, check temperature, heat for 30 seconds and check again. The difference was +20 degrees hotter which is the lowest level of their benchmark for acceptable being acceptable.Bottom line is it still doesnt heat as it did before the $650+ repair. I then spoke with rep at Kitchenaid for an hour expressing my displeasure and asking for help, their answer’s sorry but its a 10-11 year old appliance and they dont perform as well when theyre that old is the final word from them. My question to her was why didnt anyone mention that before we committed to the repair, she was silent on that. Sooo, I will not advocate KitchenAid as a quality product again much less purchase another of their appliances. I will advise others to look elsewhere when shopping for appliances! I have also filed a dispute with my credit card company in an effort to recover some of the cost we incurred.

We purchased a KitchenAid range/oven, model # KGRS505XSS approximately 3 years ago. This is a gas unit, running on propane. Since we dont have supplied gas, in conjunction with the purchase, we had installed a propane tank, and supply line. Total cost, just over $3,000. Since purchase, we have had service for breakdowns 3 times, and I am currently taking time off from work for the fourth breakdown. The machine is out of warranty. My wife is meticulous with her equipment, and we purchased this based on other KitchenAid appliances purchased (albeit many years ago). UNEQUIVOCALLY, THIS IS THE WORST APPLIANCE PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE! We have repeatedly contacted the manufacturer to address the issues. The local appliance dealer, KLECKNER APPLIANCES, has REFUSED to help other than sending a paid tech. to address each breakdown. They refer us to the manufacturer. In my latest contact with them, they offered a PAID WARRANTY, TO THE TUNE OF $350. All aspects of this experience have been horrible. We host a number of family functions, and my wife is petrified that this appliance will break down Thanksgiving morning! From the appliance dealer to the customer service people at KitchenAid, not one individual has agreed that the breakdowns (complete, loss of use of one or more burner, now oven non working) that this should not happen, nor has anyone offered to address the situation, other than to send the tech. for what will probably not be less than $200. NOT CONSIDERING MY COST OF TIME...I STRONGLY URGE THOSE CONSIDERING THIS, OR EVEN OTHER KITCHENAID MODELS, TO LOOK ELSEWHERE. Had I known any of this would have occurred, I would simply have bought the Wolf or Jenn Air we considered. Absolute junk!!

I too have the issue of an extremely foul odor coming from my dishwasher since day one (Ive had it less than a year). I have had 3 service calls per Sears. They have all told me the usual, clean with certain products, run a cycle with vinegar and baking soda, it must be my garbage disposal etc... nothing worked. I finally called KitchenAid directly. They sent one of their service people out to inspect the machine today. He explained that the machine was built without a vent fan. I was not aware that dishwashers had vent fans, but I am also not an appliance mechanic. He said that I need to leave the door open and run a cycle of vinegar through after each use. So, I need to use double the water and double the electricity to get one load of dishes done. Not to mention, trip over the open door each time I walk into my kitchen. My questions is... if there is no proper ventilation then I have to assume that mold and bacteria will ultimately become a problem (if not already). Why has no one from KitchenAid thought about this? Ultimately, this is a potential health hazard. All this time I think my dishes are clean when in fact I am just washing them within a dishwasher full of nasty things that can potentially make my family sick. Im glad I dont have infants anymore. Can you imagine sterilizing baby bottles in this piece of crap?! I am still working with KitchenAid to resolve the problem. We will see how this goes. I can say for sure that Sears has been awful, no help whatsoever. Customer service very very rude. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Sears, and after reading all the horrible reviews, I will never buy another KitchenAid. I am also having issues with the top rack. I have to hold it in while I load the bottom rack. Very inconvenient.Updated 5/30/2016: Just an update to my previous (5/24/2016) post. As I feared, KitchenAid customer service has been no more helpful than Sears customer service. I was told that theres nothing that can be done about the foul smell in my dishwasher. I have been committed to having a piece of crap dishwasher. In the meantime, I am writing letters to the CEO of Whirlpool as well as all the board and committee members. Perhaps if others do the same, one of our letters will end up in the hands of someone who cares. If you do a Google search of CEO of Whirlpool, the leadership page for Whirlpool will come up. On this page are the names of Whirlpool administration; including Jeff Fettig CEO. The address: Whirlpool Headquarters 2000 N M-63 Benton MI 49022-2692.

Installed new 3 weeks ago. Convection microwave vents out the front. There is SO much hot air coming out, that the oven door handle is too hot to touch without a potholder, not to mention how hot it makes the kitchen with all that hot air!! It also shut off twice during the cooking process. Not sure if it overheated or what. Repair person replaced part that will hopefully fix the shutting off issue, but KitchenAid has no solution for the hot oven door handle. They have created a part that redirects the hot air coming out of the regular lower oven that makes the warming drawer handle too hot, but nothing for my situation. Very poor design!!

The dishwasher functioned marginally for about a year and then got worse. Theoretically, it works, so it cannot be fixed. It runs through the cycle normally, but the dishes do not come out clean. They have grease films, coffee stains, fingerprints, and spots. All of this must be removed by hand washing. Not much point in having a dishwasher. I have tried the longest cycle and additives of all sorts, but nothing helps.

I used to love KitchenAid. I had a suite (dishwasher, refrigerator and range/oven) from them for 10 years in my old home and had no issues. Naturally, when I went to purchase appliances for my kitchen remodel in my new home, I bought KitchenAid again. A year after they were installed, the fan in the oven started to rattle and I began to notice surface rust on the appliances. Ive always used stainless steel cleaner, and I never had this issue with my old appliances. The rust will not even come off with the cleaner. KitchenAid sent out a service technician who fixed the fan and looked at the rust. He said the rust was a problem with all of the stainless steel appliances when they get any water on them. Seriously? A dishwasher, refrigerator and oven? When do they not get water on them? When I contacted KitchenAid, they told me it was a cosmetic issue and therefore not covered. They did call their service technician who said he only saw a small amount of surface rust on the stove and did not look at the other appliances. He also told them it was an environmental issue. (Totally different from the story he told me.). KitchenAid also said it was a cosmetic issue and there was nothing they could do about it as I had used the wrong brand of stainless steel cleaner and the environment was too moist. My home is 30 miles from the ocean in a desert climate, and my previous home (where I did not have problems) was much closer to the ocean, so how it that environmental? KitchenAid offered to send out a second technician out at my expense. I will never buy another KitchenAid product again.

The thermal fuse has blown out several times over the last two years, and is costing money each time. KitchenAid could care less - they are raking in the money as exclusive supplier of the parts. We have other Whirlpool and KitchenAid products, and the process is always the same. Theres no help from the company, no cheap parts, and theres aggravation at a simple machine that is designed to break down. Our Whirlpool dishwasher is designed with too small of a draincock, and it constantly blocks up. I am a repairman, and I am tired of coming home and fixing these ** things. I went over to Maytag and Sub-Zero, and have not regretted it. I now tell all of my customers and friends to not use these products as they will constantly be fixing them because they are designed to fail.

It’s an $840 fiasco. Almost from the beginning it would not clean the dishes. They came out dirtier! Food crusted on, glasses with a dirty grim on the outside, coffee stains still in the cups, silverware greasy. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn the hot water temp up on my hot water heater and Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye.” How does that help my bottom line? The hotter water had impact. I called again. I was told: Use the Pots & Pans setting and thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Still no improvement. I called again, and was told to check the drain . . . Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Notice here they did not record my complaints: no name, address or model number was taken and no record of my complaints was ever taken. Finally—finally—after several more complaints and letters, they send a repair person out from KitchenAid no less. Nope, not our fault. I had to pay $185 for that news. Today, I took out 4 cereal bowls that are still filthily with stuck on grime, a greasy pancake flipper, food stuck to the silverware and on and on. I am appalled that KitchenAid has gotten so bad that the only thing left going for them is what is left of a once good name. I will never purchase another new item from them again, and that means the entire family of appliances. I am appalled.

As has been noted in other reviews, KitchenAid has issues with the ice makers not functioning correctly and prematurely breaking. Not even three years into owning the refrigerator, the ice maker has now completely burned up. Brought the issue to KitchenAid/Whirlpools attention and they just dodged questions about the issue being a known issue and inquiries if there have been other reports of the problem (which there obviously have been, as one can see clearly in the reviews). Instead, they tried to get us to contact the seller and ask them to cover the repair. $2400.00 for a refrigerator is not cheap... We wont be buying KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, or any other brand under the Whirlpool umbrella after this experience. (We have several KitchenAid appliances, as we used to think they were a good company.)

Did get advice on using quantum finish which helped with cleaning some. Cheap plastic rollers replaced. Now dishwasher rollers and door had to be tightened by repair man. Now needs seal for door because it is leaking. I will not be buying another KitchenAid product after this experience. Was told no recall on product just poorly made by repair company. I agree.

Model #KDTE204DSSo purchased approximately 18 months ago for over $1,000.00. Heat element stopped working and had that replaced. Still didnt work. Was then told it was probably a control panel issue. Also for several months had to do an additional rinse as the dishwasher retained soap. This was our second dishwasher purchased in two years. Obviously, appliances are not made to last anymore. We had an old Inglis dishwasher that lasted for over fifteen years. My advise. Buy the cheapest one and if you get two years out of it, toss and replace!

We have now had eleven service calls with the tech here up to three hours a call. The control panel has been replaced three times. The key board once. The sensor once. The temperature still goes from 325 degrees to 386 degrees after preheating two cycles. The bottom door hinges have been replaced twice with no change. Door still does not close properly resulting in bottom element not coming on. Whirlpool says this is all acceptable. My built-in side-by-side stopped cooling almost a MONTH ago. I did call a highly rated Yelp repair company but they were honest and said that since it was still under limited warranty I should work directly with KitchenAid. Let me keep it short... Its ugly. KitchenAid is deliberately slowing down service and forcing me to work with someone who has terrible Yelp ratings. In fact I have spent $1,000 with this company and even though he claims to be able to diagnose the issues - KitchenAid tech backs him up - as of today my unit is having the same exact issue. We have replaced a heating coil that required 6 hours of labor (KitchenAid confirmed) and a compressor.I called another service company who indicated it is a simple problem that can be fixed easily. When I called KitchenAid and explained this, the customer service guy actually fought with me...refused to speak to me any further unless I gave him the phone number and name of the other company. They were so concerned that one of their authorized repair companies was questioned that they tried to intimidate me into thinking I was going to lose support. Bottom line - I asked for a supervisor and she was understanding. I begged her to send different service company but she refused. As I write this, my $12,000 refrigerator/freezer is not working, despite KitchenAid forcing me to spend $1,000 with their service person. It also still sounds like the engine from a small commercial plane, even though prior to that it was so silent. And no refrigeration still. And guess what? My service repair person will not call me back. KitchenAid is clearly trying to stall until warranty runs out. I will never buy another one of their products. To top it off, it is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

KitchenAid freestanding induction range model KIRS608bss, purchased new, 4/12/13 3 months later the oven stopped working. I bake a lot so I knew when my baked products were taking 20 minutes longer than normal. I called for service and the first 2 times the tech literally said that all oven temperatures vary, this is to be expected! By the 3 call my oven started blinking message across the stovetop panel. They finally replace the computer system and told me I no longer had a warranty. At this point my range was 4 months old.. This same model although the oven is working the cleaning part is not. I have tried multiple time but the water does not get hot enough or steam long enough to clean the oven. To make matters worse, the front glass panel has so many grease stains in between the two glass panels that Im embarrassed to have people in my kitchen as it appears I have never cleaned the glass.. I was told the only way it can be cleaned is to remove the screws and bolts inside, clean the inside of the panels then replace. The technician also said its a waste of time as those streaks will come back the first time you use your oven and each time you remove the screws the tightness of the door panel loosens and heat will escape..

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY03 just a year old. Problem with ice forming behind bottom drawer in refrigerator section. Needs a new fan and thermistor. After waiting for parts and then put on the service schedule, the repairman came but had the wrong part. Now, again waiting for the part and to be put on the service schedule. Without a refrigerator for three weeks. Also, the fan is encased in styrofoam held together by tape. No wonder there is a problem. Also the reviews for the repair company sent by KitchenAid were not favorable. I found this out firsthand.Updated on 03/10/2016: In August I had ice built up behind the drawers in the bottom of the refrigerator. KitchenAid replaced the fan and thermistor. Seven months later, same problem. KitchenAid denied any problems with these parts.

I have had this fridge for three years. We have been seeing issues with every feature on it. The lights won’t come on, the ice maker is malfunctioning, it won’t dispense water or ice. The fridge will turn off completely for hours and sometime days. My only saving grace is to unplug the fridge, wait ten minutes and plug it in. When I do this, the fridge goes back to normal for about a week.I reached out to Kitchenaid and they sent a tech to my house. The technician told me that there is a common error with the circuitry stemming from the deli drawer. If you read all the negative reviews you will see I am not the only one experiencing the issue. The technician did all his diagnostics and found nothing. He called the tech hotline for Kitchenaid and they told him this is a common issue with this model. The deli circuit and wiring needs to be replaced. They have done it to hundreds of this model. (READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.) The technician told me that even though there are many models that have gone through this, it is not covered under warranty. The parts start at $600 not including labour. When I called Kitchenaid back and told them of the issues and how this is a common issue, they did not deny this. They did say that yes there are a lot of negative reviews on here about this problem, as there are a lot of negative reviews about any product on the internet. They advised that even though it could be a manufacturer defect, the warranty is one year on this and they will do nothing for me. Marie from the Whirlpool Hotline was very adamant that regardless how many people are experiencing this issue, the warranty is one year. Kitchenaid will not repair the fridge, and I am on the hook for what should be considered a recall due to manufacturer defect.I have since reported the issue to the consumer protection act, and advised them that Kitchenaid is aware of the defect, even acknowledges it, but won’t repair or replace. I am not asking for cash back for the food that was spoiled, nor am I asking for a new fridge. I just want the defect repaired, but that is too much to ask outside of one year.

KitchenAid double wall ovens/ WALL OVEN- ELE BI 30 - My LOWER oven (the one not used except on holidays) went out on me on CHRISTMAS as Im cooking a prime rib (at 500 degrees). The ovens have only been installed for a year! Got an error message asking for probe temperature. Wasnt using the probe although I do have the ability to use it. Checked the manual and found I did everything right. I then ended up with an under cooked prime rib for 13 guests. Thanks for that! Then I tried to clean the damned thing since it hadnt cleaned well after Thanksgiving (I usually try to do this when we are in bed because the fumes are so awful). Guess I know why it didnt clean! This time after waiting till everyone left, I opened the windows (glad its a warm December) and the oven wouldnt clean. Got an ERROR message this time of E3F3. Heck if I know what it means. They were able to schedule a service appointment quickly but if they have to order parts, then I have to have another service appointment. All I know is, Ive got an oven that doesnt work during the holidays (Im cooking for NY Day too). I called the extended warranty number and sat on hold for 42 minutes. THIS AFTER HAVING SPENT NEARLY 2 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY BUILT IN KITCHEN AID DISHWASHER FIXED THAT HAS ONLY BEEN IN USE FOR 6 MONTHS! It needed an entire new drum. Nice since it already damaged my NEW cabinets and NEW floor in my NEW kitchen. No offer to fix the damage they caused even though they finally fixed the dishwasher. I purchased a five-door KitchenAid refrigerator model number KRMF706ESSOO that was delivered 9/23/16. The refrigerators top right-hand door had rust on it & the ice maker did not worked at delivery nor the day after. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times and the water valve 3 times. Today is December 22nd 2016 and after seven attempts of the service techs that Whirlpool sent to make the repairs so that we can have ice we still have no ice. Because the water has always leaking out of the Chute of the ice makers, that they keep replacing and the water valves that they keep replacing wont seal at all where the two grommets are located the water continually leaks out around the grommets and tubes that supply water for drinking and ice for the ice maker. I have to keep towels inside my refrigerator to collect to the water that comes through the vent holes and drips on the shelves inside the refrigerator or choose to turn the water off completely to the refrigerator. Therefore not being able to have filtered water (because of the seriousness of the defects we turned the water off today to the refrigerator). The repairman had to replace the electronic control board on the drawer that has the temperature selection for your meats, cheese, etcetera because the water linkage shorted out the control panel. The water leakage at the top is so heavy that the 4 light panels were fill with water. Today when the technician took the panel off, it took three full-size bath towels to clean up the water mess. My husband and I are exhausted worrying about the refrigerator electrically shorting out.We feel like KitchenAid company is guilty of neglect & have a defective product and unsatisfactory service technicians that they have certified and require you to use. The tech today a new company that repairs refrigerators (not the company that KitchenAid originally schedule the repairs & said that we had to use) told us that there is a manufacturer defect & theres a aftermarket kit that has to be put on this model refrigerator in order for the ice maker to work and make ice and prevent the water from leaking out of the front of the ice maker. First of all they have to put a defrost element on our ice maker!!! Can you believe that? When the tech took the back of the refrigerator off there was solid wall of ice so now we have to have a defroster on the icemaker. Next the temperature has to be below 37 degrees in order for the ice maker to work; therefore, and aftermarket installation add-on kit to keep the cold air inside the refrigerator compartment has to be ordered and installed. The repair technician showed us at the back of the refrigerator where the cold air is leaking out at the back of the refrigerator that we never noticed before or would have considered a manufacture defect and design flaw; we were just dumbfounded at the amount of air leakage out of the refrigerator compartment to the outside of the refrigerator. There should be a class action suit against this FOR PROFIT (in my personal opinion only) driven company that would put their customers /consumers through this. Greed is rampant. Weve spoken with the supervisor at KitchenAid (after not getting any satisfaction from the call center customer complaint center). We were told that KitchenAid makes NO lemons NOR defective products. KitchenAid MAY be in complete denial or must have a phone script that they are required to read from. They voice record every conversation for their benefit. To collect all the facts and then deliver the same tired phrases Were not going to do anything other than to replace parts. The food that I have lost theyre not replacing. The seven or eight days of missed work (that I didnt get paid for) too bad theres no compensation. The time Ive spent complaining taking pictures and documenting the neglect and defects and telling them has been in vain because they keep saying your only option is for us to keep sending repairmen and replacing parts; were sorry youre having a problem.Well if youre sorry make a decent product that people do not have to go through hell after theyve spent a fortune purchasing their brand refrigerator. My money is now in KitchenAid pocket and they refused to replace my lemon refrigerator nor give me customer satisfaction thus far. I will have to keep taking off work and work with repairmen unless I resort to hire an attorney to save myself time and aggravation. Ive asked them to give me a new refrigerator and they wont do it.

This dishwasher KUDS30IX is the worse single appliance I have ever owned period. Cheap plastic rack, adjustment brakes, and sheds plastic parts into the sump destroying the food grinder and impeller on the wash pump. I have had this repaired 4 times under the extended warranty in three years. Now it has failed again. Still under warranty but now I have to take a day off of work AGAIN to meet the repairman. Repairman said that it was good I had the extended warranty as the repair would have been $350.00! KitchenAid/Whirlpool never again on a dishwasher. I have owned other KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances and they have been of good quality with minimal issues. If you still want to purchase a KitchenAid/Whirlpool dishwasher product after reading this be sure to get the extended warranty. You will need it. P.S. I would have given it a zero star rating but 1 is as low as the website will allow.

Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer)
Kitchen Aid Fridge model KF1S29BBMS00 (French Door w/ lower drawer freezer) - We bought our fridge in late June of 2013. Its now Early September and weve been without a properly functioning appliance for more than 2 weeks. Looking through the reviews, the prospect is daunting of waiting months to get this resolved.Same issue as many. After a call to Kitchen Aid, a technician came to evaluate the issue and determined that it was an evaporator fan malfunction. It took 5 days to get the new part. A new technician/refrigeration expert came to install the new (and faulty) fan (The freezer door, which was functioning fine up to this point, was somehow damaged by him so that now it makes a noise when I open it). He said to give the fan 24 hours to cool the machine. A day later it was no better than it was before, with the temperature hovering around 60 degrees. A new technician was sent out the next day. He determined, after taking the refrigerator apart that the new evaporator fan was faulty. He defrosted the evaporator with a heat gun and talked to Rick at the KitchenAid tech line (On an aside, the drawer display doesnt work at all, a whole different issue). Now were waiting a week to get a new fan and no guarantee that this fan will work. We are very frustrated.

We purchased our home 11 years ago new, with several builders grade items, including a relatively cheap GE dishwasher. We got about 7 years of service out of it, and decided to upgrade to a quiet KitchenAid dishwasher we bought at Lowes. Within 2 years, the plastic pieces of the upper rack started to crack. When we called KitchenAid to get them replaced, they told us that a) they were now owned by Whirlpool; b) the rack and parts werent covered by a warranty. So they kindly offered to sell us the parts. We bought them, at about 1/4 of the cost of the entire dishwasher. Now its been two years, and those same parts have cracked again. The dishwasher wont even come on at this point. What a horrific experience. I always thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid, or Whirlpool appliance again. This was dishwasher model #KUDS30IXBL1.

I bought a Kitchenaid refrigerator model no. KFIV29PCM501 in June 2014. Within 1 month I had problems with the water dispenser and the ice maker. It took 3 months to get the parts and the service completed. Within 2 weeks I am having the same problems - water dispenser does not display the correct amount of water being dispensed (if you are measuring your water intake this is a good feature to have) and the ice maker does not make enough ice to serve 6 people within a 3-hour period. When I pay close to $3,000 for a refrigerator I do not expect to have to pick up bags of ice to serve a few guests. Also there is very limited space to store tall pitchers, milk, or wine bottles. DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR!!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, model #KDPE234GPS0, in March of 2020.
I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, model #KDPE234GPS0, in March of 2020. In November right before Thanksgiving, the pump and motor died. The service tech told me that this normally happens in about a year and a half. He was surprised it happened so soon. He told me to get an extended warranty because it will happen again. Its now January of 2021, still no dishwasher and KitchenAid said they dont know when parts will be available! I should have spent the extra money and bought the Miele like I had previously. DONT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE!!! STAY AWAY!! Oh yeah and 1 more thing.. This thing always has an awful odor to it.

I purchased KitchenAid top of the line stainless steel refrigerator at APT
I purchased KitchenAid top of the line stainless steel refrigerator at APT Appliance in Glenview, IL on 12/9/13. We are senior citizens who live alone. We needed service on 3/18/16, only to find out that we need a NEW switch for our Ice maker dispenser. Shame on you! You are proud to make things American? Well the products SHOULD be made BETTER. After a little over 2 years, I must replace it to the tune of over $120.00. Now this Refrigerator was not the cheapest one you sell, but the most expensive. Shame! Shame! I guess the idea is foreign made is the way to go. Unsatisfied in Lincolnwood, IL.
