My built-in microwave (KBMS1454SSS) stopped working properly while still under warranty. On advice from the KitchenAid customer service department, I took the microwave to the local factory authorized service center where I spent $234.85. I took the microwave back home and reinstalled it, but it still didnt work. I took it back to the local factory authorized service center and, after eight days, he told me there was nothing more he could do.I called the KitchenAid customer service department again, and they said my only option was to get a second opinion which, of course, I had to pay for. They sent A&E factory Service to my house ($128 for a service call) and the technician ordered a part, came out two weeks later to install it, and that part did not fix the problem. After six visits (each of which I had to take off work and wait at my home for the repairman), the technician finally deemed my microwave unrepairable. He put that in writing and instructed me to contact KitchenAid for a replacement unit. One month, twenty phone calls, numerous promises of call-backs, and several supervisors later, KitchenAid offered to replace my microwave (they called it a pro-rated exchange) for $990. I explained that I had already spent $400 to repair the $1100 unit that I had, and that an additional $990 hardly seemed fair to replace a high-end unit that did not work. They agreed to drop the pro-rated exchange price to $468. I told them that us unacceptable and they said, Were sorry, thats all we are prepared to do.This is a very attractive unit and I thought I was getting the best when I bought KitchenAid, but after this five month-long process of trying to get my problem solved, I could not be more dissatisfied with the KitchenAid customer service department.

The freezer drawer was bent and leaking air during manufacture. Ice built-up inches thick, then moisture leaked onto the oak floor. Warranty service takes hours to reach and starts with them saying you must have done something wrong. You have to contract with a local repair shop and pay them in advance, but order parts through Whirlpool. It has dragged on call-after-call for months and is still not fixed.

I purchased a KitchenAid French door bottom freezer for a long awaited, much needed kitchen remodel. I thought I did my homework on price, reliability and quality. Obviously, I did not do a good job. The fridge was purchased and shipped in late September 2010 and sat in the garage with all of the other components of the kitchen that were ordered and delivered. I wanted everything here before the contractor started work. The fridge was one of the last things to be installed late December, early January 2011. In the beginning of Dec 2011, I noticed some white water spots in front of the fridge, just thought I had spilled some water and hadnt noticed. Came to find out too late, since the warranty is one year from purchase date, that a sheet of ice was forming in the bottom of the freezer compartment (someone else on this site mentioned the same thing) and then slowly melted at the edge of the freezer door and dripping on the new hardwood floors. After pulling the unit out found the floor board under the edge of the door was warped.I spoke to customer service. Their solution was to pay over $300 for a six month warranty since the unit was less than 18 months old, which I did not do. They then set up an appt for a service call through AE Factory Service with a price of $130(any repairs made would be over and above that) for them to come out which would take 2 weeks. After thinking about it, I decided that was a ridiculous price for a service call and decided to cancel it. I called a local appliance repair company and they could have come out that day if I had been home. Price was $35 and that will go toward any repairs that are done. Makes you wonder why the company that KitchenAid refers you to such an expensive repair company. Do they have any interest in that company? Repairman that is coming out tomorrow said he has this particular repair down to a science, obviously having done it numerous times before. After spending over $2,300 for a refrigerator, the last thing I expected was to be having problems in less than a year of use from a company that I had always considered to have quality product and service. But it certainly seems like KitchenAid has gone the way of too many American corporations, that the quality of their products and the consumer is the least of their concerns. I will be mentioning to my contractor, who is very sought after for kitchen remodels in our area, that if his clients are considering any KitchenAid products they should reconsider their choice. Also, to anyone that mentions to me that they are buying a new refrigerator, buyers beware! After reading these other reviews for over an hour I am amazed that a class action lawsuit hasnt been filed yet. When will companies get it that all the consumer wants is value for the dollar spent and good customer service?

For such an expensive dishwasher, it does not clean dishes well. Also, the unit is less than 5 years old and the door balance parts break? They are made of nylon cord and plastic, attached to a metal door and metal spring. Why in the world would you use such flimsy materials for such a heavy door? I nearly injured myself when the door came crashing down, just missing my foot (the repair parts were in shipment). And after reading all the complaints here I am not impressed.

The top racks are difficult to load with glasses and cups as the metal rods interfere with loading. Equipped with eco wash and top tray can be adjusted vertically. Probably a good size as any larger would require second setting of dishware. The only beef I have with this unit is the fact that its noisy. What can a few inches of insulation cost?

My KitchenAid refrigerator was the worst purchase I ever made in my life. The only thing worse than this lousy refrigerator are the people that work for KitchenAid. Over ten times various major parts were replaced on my refrigerator. It NEVER WORKED RIGHT. Many times I was treated like an animal by KitchenAid customer service. Hangs ups, rude behavior and lies are the norm for this lousy company. There is a great company named Sub-Zero and KitchenAid should change their name to Sub-Human. NEVER BUT ANYTHING KITCHENAID!!!

This is the second review I am writing about this oven. The first review I wrote was a couple weeks after it was installed and I gave it 5 stars. Its a beautiful oven. The stovetop/burners work great. The top oven is the one I use the most and at first it was fine, but after about a month, I noticed the blue interior is peeling off the base plate on the top oven and black splotches started appearing. I removed the base plate and tried to clean it but there wasnt anything on it. The blue was just disappearing in places. I took the oven plate back to the store I bought it at and they ordered a new one.The second plate started doing the same thing after only a couple of weeks. The blue coating is clearly not perfected and I really wonder if it is releasing chemicals or flaking off into the food. I cannot recommend this to anyone. KitchenAid - you need to do more testing before you release products into the market. I am a product developer - I know when something hasnt been tested appropriately. Im waiting for my third base plate to arrive but I am likely going back to the store to tell them to replace the oven. My preference would be to replace it with a different brand, but the over the oven microwave that a purchased at the same time is also KitchenAid brand (ut-oh).

KUDS30IVSS4 -- the top rack stops washing every month. We found a video on YouTube and shows how to disassemble the bottom to clean up the food grinder wheel to get the machine working again. But this is a PAIN IN THE BUTT process every freaking month! And I do rinse all my dishes but anything clogs that area. If I need to wash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, I dont need a dishwasher! We paid for top of the line model, thinking KitchenAid was a good brand. Customer Service is USELESS!

I never had a dirty dish come out of it; provided you used the jet dry. No matter what I threw at it, they came out clean and spotless. The controls were on the top edge of the door so hidden during use and programmed before closing the door. The dishwasher ran whisper quiet and had multiple cleaning cycles; including pot scrubber. It should also be noted that the heater in this unit heats everything to the point of sterilization. You can actually smell the clean when the dishes come out. This dishwasher had the adjustable top rack so cleaning large items in the bottom was very easing. It also had extra large capacity so it took a lot of dishes to fill it. Stainless steel, and hidden controls were very nice. The large, rounded, stainless door handle was the only protrusion from under the counter so it blended well into the cabinetry. Kitchenaid 24-inch Stainless Steel with Proscrub. It came with the standard warranty and I paid to extend it an additional 2 years. It also came with a nicely written owners manual which was clear and concise on the operations.

This is for a KitchenAid range that we purchased just one year ago. We actually love the range and its versatility but it has ONE MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. The writing on the knobs rubs off with just a finger. It happened to all four of my knobs and I have had to reorder all four as I can no longer tell what setting I am on. They cost almost $30 each. I feel ripped off. I think that this design aspect, by 2013 should be a no brainer. Guess I was wrong...

KitchenAid Model KDFE304DWH0 Dishwasher - We purchased this new dishwasher 3 months ago. Its very quiet and appears to clean dishes reasonably well, although we rinse our dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. The problem is that it doesnt dry dishes well, even when the Heat Dry option is selected. The flatware basket and its contents are especially wet, as are the sides and door of the dishwasher itself.Weve had a service technician out 3 times, and he doesnt seem to know what to do to fix this problem. The second time he came out he replaced the controller. That change didnt help the problem at all. The last time he had a KitchenAid engineer on the phone trying to come up with a solution. Still no solution. We suspect this is a design flaw rather than defective manufacturing problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem on this model?

We have had a lot of problems with this microwave. The door locks and does not open (happened twice! I had to take it apart to replace the plastic mechanism). The light bulb burned out. This is NOT a consumer serviceable item! (Im a licensed electrical engineer; I think I can replace a light bulb without getting shocked by the capacitor!) I found one online and fixed it. The latest problem is the microwave runs with the door open! It happened earlier today. Then it worked fine, but it just happened again! We put something in and started it and then it timed out and stopped. We opened the door and it started running again. This is DANGEROUS! I have small children and the microwave is mounted below the counter! I dont want my children getting hurt by this hazardous device! We chose KitchenAid because we thought it had a reputation for quality. Boy, were we wrong! We have had problems with our other KitchenAid appliances as well, but the microwave is the worst!

We bought all new appliances for our lake house from the same company we had bought appliances for our primary home (and NO it was not from a big box store but a legitimate appliance company). In 2013 we purchased KitchenAid refrigerator, dishwasher, double oven, range, microwave. The first season we had issues with the freezer draw icing shut and condensationing. Called the company. They came out and made some adjustments. Everything seemed ok. In 2014 we noticed the ice would work periodically, but then just started working. The range and microwave have never kept the correct clock time. Then late summer about a month prior to shutting the house down for the season. The freezer just stopped working. Then wishing 14 days the refrigerator stopped working. Being the end of the season, we emptied the appliance. I have called the company that we had purchased the appliances from (which had went bankrupt and was purchased by another vendor). I have yet to receive a call from the vendor. Know Im stuck on an island and trying to find an appliance company to hopefully repair my 3-year-old refrigerator. Unless the appliance can be repaired reasonably soon and at a fair cost I would never purchase or recommend KitchenAid appliances again.

We have had 5 service calls to try and fix the cooling in the refrigerator and the ice maker. This stainless steel side by side unit is barely a year old. Having this issue repaired has been such a headache. Whirlpool/KitchenAid has many hoops to jump through and documentation needed. A month later, this issue is still unresolved. I am about to purchase a new refrigerator and just consider this a loss. I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance again.

I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old. Its a lemon made by KitchenAid. I purchased the refrigerator KFIS29BBMS00 in brand new condition from a Texas appliance retailer in North Richland Hills in September of 2012. All was well until six months later, in March of 2013, the refrigerator stopped keeping the non-freezer items cool and ice was forming around the ice maker in the upper refrigerator, and also inside the door of the freezer. They, KitchenAid, dispatched an appliance technician for diagnostics. Lets start the count off for personal days of vacation stolen by these guys. (1 day) Evaporator fan ordered, and installed 10 days later mid April. (2 days) Load noise and additional ice build up 1 week later, service call scheduled. Same repair guy, different day. Parts ordered to replace faulty fan. (3 days) Two weeks later, installed firmware upgraded circuit board. (4 days vacation) In late June, the ice maker stopped working, service scheduled mid July with new service company and technician. (5 days vacation) Of course, parts ordered again... This time, the technician had them shipped to my house.About 12 days later, we received a parts shipment. We called KitchenAid when we received the parts package, asking when the service company was supposed to be back. They contacted them and they were out the next day. (6 days of vacation) Unfortunately, there were two additional parts being shipped and the repair could not be completed. Should not someone have known this dependency when we called? Fast forward an additional two weeks, now we are in early August and we called the service company again since all the parts are in. They cant come out until Sept 3, and in the meantime the refrigerator is making a very loud annoying noise. So, we called KitchenAid to report it and let them know we could not have the appliance serviced with the previous work order since the service provider stated they were only authorized to repair the ice maker. KitchenAid dispatched a third appliance repair company, who was scheduled by KitchenAid for 8/26, then no call no show. They said they did not receive a work order from KitchenAid, but assured me they could make it tomorrow, 8/26. (7 days vacation lost) The third repair company came out today, 8/27, and said they cant repair the refrigerator until the other company completes their work order. (8 days of vacation) Remember now, I still have another appointment scheduled for 9/3/2013, so count on another vacation day, totaling 9 for now and counting.

I bought my KitchenAid Dishwasher (Model KUDK03CTBL) on 9/5/09. Three months later, the memory board went bad and parts and labor were covered under warranty. Now less than two years later, the memory board is bad again. Unfortunately, KitchenAid will only cover the part, not the labor, which we all know is the most expensive part. On August 13, 2012 we purchased a French door refrigerator made by Kitchen Aid. 10 months later we were seeing water running down the inside door from the ice maker. I called the company and they sent out technician to fix it who didnt seem like he knew what he was doing. He made several phone calls to ask questions about the repair. After he left my refrigerator was working properly so I was satisfied. Meanwhile, my neighbors were looking to get a new refrigerator and loved the look of mine so they purchased the same model. Months later my neighbor called me complaining of water leaking from her ice maker. They had to have it repaired but then a couple months later she told me their freezer stopped working and they lost hundreds of dollars of food. She called Kitchen Aid to come repair it for a second time. My husband and I went on vacation and we returned home to find our freezer stopped working while we were gone and lost all of our food. When I called Kitchen Aid they informed me I was two months past my warranty and since I didnt buy an extended warranty (which I didnt think I would need to on a fridge that cost almost $3000.00) there was nothing they could do. It could be repaired but at my cost. After a very heated discussion and much screaming on my end about their inferior product I got them to agree to fix it at their cost. I am sitting here now while a repairman is here and he is running dye through the lines to find the problem. He has informed me that it will be at least a couple of weeks until this is fixed. Meanwhile I have no working freezer and have a family to feed. I called Kitchen Aid again to see if they could do something and the womans response was there was nothing they could do and she actually suggested that I leave food in a friends freezer! I googled complaints against Kitchen Aid and was shocked to say the least. It seems they are known for these problems and customer service is not their strong suit. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid appliance again and will tell everyone who will listen about my experience.

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. We decided to purchase a Kitchen Aid dishwasher (KUDC10FXSS) to replace our Whirlpool dishwasher in the spring of this year. We have had nothing but problems with it. I noticed that it was running through rinse aid very quickly and then completely shut down. We were told that it needed a new control board, which was then replaced. It took three weeks to get this part in because it was on back order. Less than a week later, the rinse aid began pouring out from the dispenser, so once again a repairman came out and told us that we must have a bad dispenser so that was replaced next. Even with the new dispenser, I am now having to add rinse aid every two weeks and have a terrible film on my glasses and dishes. I called the business where we bought it and they sent out the same repair guy, who told me that he doesnt know why its going through rinse aid so quickly and that he would research it for me. Well, its been three weeks and no word from him or the business which he works for. We asked to replace this dishwasher because we think its a lemon and we were told that unless we have three separate incidents with it, Kitchen Aid will not replace it. We are very frustrated and will not buy any Kitchen Aid products in the future!

The first time it happening the dishwasher was under warranty and the service guy said that this happens often with this model. Why has KitchenAid not recalled this machine?

I have a built in side by side KitchenAid fridge purchased in 2007. The water input valve, part number w10146431 stopped working but the part was discontinued and is no longer available so the fridge cant be repaired. Whirlpools attitude was I can buy a new fridge at a discount. There should be a law that parts have to be available for 10 years so major appliances can be repaired. I think Whirlpool deliberately discontinues certain parts to force consumers to buy new appliances. Based on that thought I would never buy another Whirlpool appliance.

I have two pairs of the dishwasher drawers with custom wood panels and one pair started to make loud whirring noises and then would beep incessantly, resulting in us turning off the breaker switch to get it to stop. Then, the bottom drawer stopped draining and held water in the tub all the time. The repair man quoted me over $900.00 for the repair. He suggested that I not repair it, and I agreed with him. Now, my second pair is making loud noises and I am afraid it is on its way to death as well. I am so disappointed in these dishwashers. I am going to start a Facebook group to see how may others have defective dish drawers.

We just renovated our entire home, and I wanted a good, solid, basic dishwasher for the basement kitchen, thinking this a better option for my teens. This is not our main kitchen and it doesnt get the normal amount of use like our main, upstairs kitchen, and I didnt want anything too complicated. The KitchenAid dishwasher was installed and leaked from day two. It leaked out the sides and all over the floor, and ruined the brand new cabinetry that it was installed next to. In the two years that weve had it, it has been serviced 7 times, and tomorrow will be the eighth. It was barely nine months old and a pump had to be replaced.Early on, I begged the KitchenAid company for a new unit. I even offered to spend a little more and get a totally different unit, knowing Id have to have another cabinet panel made to match our cabinets. Anything to get this lemon out of my kitchen! Nothing doing. Im basically stuck with it, and now whenever I call (again) for service, they want to charge me the service call because its out of warranty, even though they have the service history. I ask for a supervisor and they finally agree to foot the service call, but for how much longer, its anyones guess. Thank goodness I chose two Bosch dishwashers for upstairs. They are quiet and work wonderfully, and they get a lot of use!

My wife and I built a new house and moved in 8/2003. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances. We had to replace the ice maker twice on our 2003 refrigerator. The 2003 range top stove control panel does not work properly. The 2003 microwave completely stopped working at the end of 2011. The front door cracked in 2008 since it hits a screw at the underside. Our 2006 professional, heavy duty mixer broke in July 2012, my wife uses it about 15-20 times a year. How pathetic. They should be ashamed of the quality of all their appliance products.

We remodeled our house and purchased a KitchenAid microwave oven wall unit Model number KEMS308SSS05. We have owned this unit 2 years and 2 months. The microwave always had a loud sound when running and did not heat. Well we had the microwave serviced within months of purchase while under the manufacturers warranty, it started heating better. Recently the turntable stopped working. We had 5 service calls before it was fixed. The motor had to be replaced along with several electronic boards. Now the oven will not heat to set temp and does not hold its heat. The repair company is coming to fix next week. I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance again. This was my 1st experience with KitchenAid. We also have a high end Kitchen dishwasher which we had to replace plastic parts for the upper drawer. Very Poor Quality. Now I know why KitchenAid does not have a customer service line you can call.

I purchased three appliances from KitchenAid - a dishwasher, gas range and a microwave. The microwave died and I had to buy another brand. The dishwasher had to have the panel replaced within a few months of use (fortunately under warranty then). The gas range KAID KSGA906PSS00 has had nothing but problems. The “Gas probe on” message problem is perennial even though I never use it. I have to reset the fuse switch off and mimic the probe as if I was cooking. The control panel died last year and I had to pay $303.45 to get it changed. Now a few months later, the oven does not shut off; I get the Cooking complete message which refuses to go away and I have to reset the fuse switch. Perennial problems - paid a hefty amount on this set of KitchenAid junk. Wish I had chosen another brand.

Boy was I wrong, the following is a list of costly issues Ive encountered over what I think is an unacceptable product life span...some of the breakdowns occurred just outside of warranty, some continue: - Fridge Fan assembly replaced (overheating) - Fridge cheap plastics, many shelves easily damaged - Stove burner replacement, electric front panel malfunctioning - Dishwasher Circulation Motor seized - Dishwasher door closing mechanism malfunction - Clothes Washer control board failure- Clothes Dryer faulty ignitor (gas appliance)This is the list so far but Im expecting further issues down the road, I paid thousands of dollars for these appliances and expected them to last much longer...next time I will do my homework, that said...Im done with Whirlpool/KitchenAid.

Our stainless steel, French door, KitchenAid refrigerator is a year old. The ice cube maker stopped working, so we had to have a service person come out. The diagnosis is that the ice maker broke, due to ice build-up. The part is under warranty, but the first service charge is $189.00 and they have to come again after the part is ordered. We were newly married and wanted appliances that would last for our new family. I had always thought that KitchenAid was top of the line and it would be worth the money. Boy was I wrong! We completely furnished our house with stainless KitchenAid appliances and had problems with the fridge before we made our first payment. The Homecenter said they that they would get it fixed but before they got there to fix the fridge, the range quit working. They sent a service tech that I swear served me my Big Mac at McDonalds the day before. He worked on the appliances and damaged one in the meantime but denied it. The fridge continued to leak water and the dishwasher then also started to leak and get much louder with every wash. They brought me a new fridge that leaked worse than the one before so we resorted to just shutting the water off to the fridge. These problems persisted with the three appliances and I should have been more persistent but I was trying to be nice. As soon as my 1 year warranty was up, the store would no longer talk to me and since then, our microwave starts and runs on its own (fire hazard). The only way to shut it down is to unplug it. The Homecenter and KitchenAid dont care about the consumer or there safety. We have put many calls in with no success. We have started to replace appliances with cheap China made ones that work great as we get the KitchenAid ones paid off. What really bites is we have to pay to get rid of the KitchenAid ones. So the best I can do is to advertise against KitchenAid as often as I can.

Kitchenaid Oven Model # KEBC177K5503: This was the second time it quit working after using the self-clean feature. We paid to have it fixed the first time but called KitchenAid the second time. After seeing all the other complaints, we thought they would at least send out a DIY kit to replace thermo piece that keeps the oven from working. They would only charge me for a service call and then any necessary parts. Their reasoning is that they wont fix something that hasnt been recalled but who has the authority to recall the defective ovens? KitchenAid! I will never, ever purchase any KitchenAid product again! And I will spread the word every chance I get. When I see how many complaints there are out there for this product and KitchenAid is laughing all the way to the bank, it makes me angry.

We purchased a Model KSC23C8EYY side-by-side KitchenAid refrigerator in November 2012 for over $2,499. Immediately we noticed that it was loud and often made strange noises. We tried leveling it precisely, but nothing made a difference. Sometime in 2013, we noticed that water had been leaking behind the refrigerator. We called the factory service people recommended by KitchenAid. They came out and replaced tubing at a cost of over $250 and said that it was not covered under the warranty because it had been installed incorrectly. In June 2014 The freezer and refrigerator quit getting cold. We called the same repair people. We had to wait days for a service appointment. They showed up and said they had to order the part. Again, we had to make an appointment and take off work for the next visit. This time, there was a different worker who said that the wrong part had been ordered. Again, we had to make an appointment and wait for days for someone to service our fridge. By this time we had been without a refrigerator for over two weeks and used coolers to try to keep as much of our food fresh as possible. Finally, on July 8, 2014 a repairman came out and fixed the refrigerator. It required a new compressor and recharging the system. I had to miss an entire day of work to wait on the repairman and then be there for the 3-hour repair. Luckily, this was clearly under warranty and the total cost of $654.79 was covered.Less than three months later on September 30, 2014, our refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling again. Unable to miss more work in order to wait for repairmen that may or may not fix the problem, we decided to just go to Home Depot and buy a GE refrigerator. In 55 years the KitchenAid refrigerator was absolutely the worst appliance that I have ever owned! Our money was truly thrown away.

I bought the Kitchenaid 5 door refrigerator (French Door) in May 2016. The ice maker went out a couple months after I got it and it was replaced and then 2 more times it was replaced in less than 6 months. I decided that maybe the water filter was the problem and didnt replace it. Took it out and didnt have any more problems with the ice maker. Now only 3..5 years later it started having more problems but not with the Ice Maker. It completely stopped cooling and everything in the freezer thawed out and had to be thrown away including things in the refrigerated area. I researched and they no one will provide an extended service on it because they dont cover french door refrigerators. Now I know why they require too much service and dont work well. I called a repairman and will have to wait a few days for them to come out. Lo and behold I was woke up this morning to the sound of ice cubes dropping into the bucket. It has started cooling again. I am still having someone come out but am wary of this refrigerator and dont trust it. I spent over 3 thousand for it 3 years ago and never again will have a french door refrigerator or a Kitchenaid one.

In 2012, I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, model KFCS22EVBL. Weve had nothing but problems with this product. First, the freezer leaked water onto my beautiful hardwood floor. The refrigerator was repaired but it ruined my hardwood floor. My research indicates that this is a known design defect. I wrote a complaint letter to a Whirlpool executive, who referred me to their quality assurance expert. What a joke! I was left extremely frustrated and angry. Neither Whirlpool nor its QA representative understand the concept of customer satisfaction. Second, the refrigerator is extremely noisy. We have an open floor plan and sometimes we have to speak over noise from the refrigerator to hear conversations. Lastly, cleaning the coils is a nightmare. The user instructions state There is no need for routine condenser cleaning in normal home operating environments. I dont have pets; however, due to dust buildup, I need to vacuum the coils at least 2-3 times a year. Additionally, dust tends to collect behind the front coil and there is no way for the average consumer to reach the area behind the coils. Yet, Whirlpools instruction states Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to clean the grille, the open areas behind the grille and the front surface area on the condenser. Gee, I wish I can figure out how to get behind the front coil. (The attached image shows unreachable dust behind the coil). I suspect the refrigerator was purposely designed this way to shorten the lifetime of the refrigerator. Whirlpool has underestimated this consumer. I will no longer purchase another Whirlpool product, especially since Im also having problems with my KitchenAid double oven. Im now looking for another refrigerator.

French Door Refrigerator - KRFC300ESS. I should have read reviews about KitchenAid appliances before I purchased one. Please read this review and be careful when selecting your appliances and also check the warranty and service for these appliances. I purchased the refrigerator in October, 2016. In August, 2017, the freezer stopped working so all the food I had there I had to take out and consume or keep it in an ice box with ice. The refrigerator part also did not work - the temperature was +12C. I called Whirlpool (they are responsible for KitchenAid) and I was told that they will send out a technician. The technician came on August 23 but said he needs to order the part. The part came and the technician changed it on August 30. The freezer worked but the refrigerator didnt. I called back customers centre at Whirlpool and they sent out the technician again on September 1. The problem still was not fixed and the repair guy came back on September 13 and said he has to order another part. The part which was ordered was a wrong part so it had to be re-ordered and the 2nd order came on September 27th. After that call the refrigerator worked but then it started to freeze stuff. Once again the technician came on October 16 and said he has to order another part, on October 24 he installed it.Yesterday I discovered that my fresh basil, lettuce were frozen. Again. I called the Whirlpool and they will be sending out the technician again (I think this guy can moved in with my family- he has been here so many times). Luckily I purchased extended warranty. Be prepared when you call the service centre to be put on hold - today I was on the phone with them for over 1 hour. I BOUGHT A LEMON!!! IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH KITCHENAID I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED IT. How many times will it take to fix this lemon! Obviously there is something wrong with this unit.

We purchased a stainless freezer at the bottom model in January of 2013 from a local appliance store. Within a couple of months we had a freezer that stopped getting cold and lost all the food in it. A repairman came quickly and said it was working fine and it continued for a year. Then the freezer stopped working for a day, but came back on. In October of 2015 the freezer stopped completely. We have had a series of repairmen out and we still have no freezer. I have called KitchenAid and they said they would only fix and repair what is in the sealed unit, but that often the control panels fail and that they wont fix or replace the control panel. We paid top dollar for a fridge that lasted two years. There is no way I would ever buy a KitchenAid product again for any reason. This has been a nightmare. We were without a fridge during the hottest two months on record and now we are going into the holidays without a fridge/freezer. I would never recommend buying a KitchenAid appliance and would warn anyone to avoid this company.

Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher model: KUDS30CXWH7 in august 2012. I realize that is some time ago. I have been unhappy with this appliance since the first time I used it. The only positive thing I can say is it is more quiet than the previous dishwasher. I have the heavy duty cycle - it is no better than the normal cycle for cleaning pots or pyrex baking dishes. Please understand they are virtually clean when put in the washer yet not thoroughly clean at the end of the cycle. The heat dry cycle dries NOTHING so a dish towel or drying pad must be used daily.I also find it so odd that an appliance that is supposed to clean must also be cleaned with a special dishwasher soap otherwise it smells like a wet dog. I have had repair people here for a variety of dishwasher complaints - some have been remedied - but generally their comments are thats the way new appliances are. They dont clean thoroughly, they dont dry thoroughly, and they will smell unless you use dishwasher cleaner. An unhappy customer.

We purchased a top-of-the-line over-the-range micro-convection oven by KitchenAid in September 2012. Within 30 minutes of installation the unit quit working. For 2 months we had 4 visits from a repair company while it hung without a door in our new kitchen. Finally it worked. Within the next 2 months the exhaust fan went out. They came, ordered a new one and when they pulled the original the tines on the wheels were shredded??? That was 2 more visits. Then just at the end of September this year the other motor did the same thing. That was 2 more visits. Now this week the control panel on the replaced door just started going crazy at random. So this will be another at least 2 visits. This will be 10 days of interruption of my work schedule for repairs to a microwave. Each visit requires you to allow a 4 hour window for the visit. My microwave has not been in full working order at least 4 months out of 14 months. Whirlpool the parent company will not replace it. They would rather I switch companies to LG or GE for my next appliance purchases. We have purchased just about every appliance from Whirlpool and KitchenAid for 35 years and 6 houses because they are a local company. BUT unknowingly this micro was built in China. Our loyalty to them is done because they have NO loyalty to us as a consumer. Very surprised at the lack of caring.

In our fairly advanced years, my wife and I Splurged on a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Gas stove, Warming drawer and a lot of other matching KitchenAid appliances and tools to complement our new kitchen. While a bit above our financial means, we purchased these based on KitchenAids reportedly High End quality and reputation with the expectation they would very likely outlast us. The stove, while being a self cleaning model, quickly experienced a failed control panel and we were summarily told that we cleaned our oven too often and the ovens heat fried the high tech front panel electronics. It’s fairly common. ARE THEY KIDDING? OVENS ACTUALLY PRODUCE HEAT? Whod O Thought! Then, our Top of the line Dishwasher went to scrap metal Heaven due to its being used too much... Water steam vapor damaged the doors inside control panel. Hmmm... As we have always done, we do our dishes every day as we strangely appreciate cleanliness and a healthy environment in our home which is evidently contrary to KitchenAid’s philosophy of product serviceability and durability standards. I think I get the part where an appliance would necessarily last longer if its not used, thats pretty simple even for me. What I just can’t seem to grasp though is how KitchenAid obtained its reputation for high end quality (as in durability) if their products require virtual non use to maintain any semblance of usability. Are They Kidding? Seriously? And as for the very expensive KitchenAid refrigerator we ordered direct from the factory? It was missing a plastic grill like air disperser part that subsequently caused a complete failure of the entire refrigerator and freezer shortly after the warranty expired. WooHooo... Im so happy, I wish I could say what I really think about KitchenAid and their products but the NSA would lock me up forever. KitchenAid obviously has their piece of the Corporate American Pie. Unfortunately, by most of the comments Ive read, it seems that consumer dissatisfaction will continue to be an ongoing experience for and at the expense of a growing number of very angry KitchenAid customers. Until that is, enough consumers educate themselves en-mass and RE-RATE KitchenAid products to accurately reflect the extremely poor quality and reputation they deserve. Seriously KitchenAid. ARE YOU KIDDING?

I purchased the Kitchen Aid model KUDS301Xss and had it installed in Jan. of 2011. In the first year, under warranty, I had the rollers on the rack replaced (they are plastic and after heating in the dishwasher, they get brittle and break) and then I had the control panel replaced. Shortly after the year warranty was up, the rollers on the rack broke again, and I was told that it was not covered, so I spent $50 to purchase the parts and I repaired it myself. I was offered an extended warranty, and I purchased it because I had already had so many problems that I thought it would be a good idea. So now, I have had the dishwasher for just over 2 years and the rack rollers are broken again! I called to use my extended warranty, dont bother. Its not covered! The rack is covered, just not the rollers; this doesnt even make sense to me! So I called Kitchen Aid Customer Service and after talking with a supervisor, I was told that they could offer me the parts for 50% off - $75 + tax! I explained that I paid $50 for them from a local distributor and they could keep their parts. All I wanted was for them to give me the parts; I was willing to fix it myself! I will never purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance again and I will tell everyone I can to do the same! I wouldnt be so upset if the company would stand behind their product. Today I ran it and nothing would light up, plus theres water standing in the bottom of the tub. Yes there is power to the unit and the fuse on the circuit board is good. We have 2 KitchenAid dishwashers, supposed to be made by the same folks, with the top rack for silverware. This model is awful, would not recommend it at all. You have to raise the rack up every time you put something in the 2nd rack. If you lower the 2nd rack so it doesnt hit the 3rd then you cant put plates on the 3rd or lowest rack. What a mess. Had the appliance folks come out and they say there is nothing that can be done. This is an expensive dishwasher to have such a lousy system. We know KitchenAid knows how to get this done. Bad on us. Dont do the same....

KitchenAid Model #KUDS30IVBT, 4 cycles, 6 options Architect SeriesII. I researched to find a dishwasher with a few upscale options at a reasonable price ($700). I also wanted the silverware rack separate & not built in to the dishwasher itself. This gives me heavy duty, normal, light/China & rinse only options. I also have a Pro scrub for those dirty pots & pans, a Sani-rinse, a high temp scrub, heat dry, and a 4 hr delay.

On DAY 1, the freezer temp was raising, we kept lowering it back to 0 F. On DAY 2, it doesnt go below 16. Now day 5 and its 32, and doesnt respond to pushing temp control down. Technician may come tomorrow. Meanwhile, food will start spoiling. Also, no instructions came with it, except how to install. Gee, thanks! NOT BUY THIS!

We purchased a combination oven & microwave/convection oven in 2008, the microwave recently began to not heat food and drinks. We notified KitchenAid and were referred to a local repair who diagnosed the problem and said it would require a new magnetron and control board, with labor the cost would be $650+, we decided the cost of the repair was much less than a new oven and microwave and committed to the repair. Repair was made, microwave now functions/heats food and drinks at a fraction of the previous level. Had repairman return today to diagnose and repair again. He proceeded to do test as dictated by KitchenAids factory tech on the phone with him, fill vessel with 10oz. of water, check temperature, heat for 30 seconds and check again. The difference was +20 degrees hotter which is the lowest level of their benchmark for acceptable being acceptable.Bottom line is it still doesnt heat as it did before the $650+ repair. I then spoke with rep at Kitchenaid for an hour expressing my displeasure and asking for help, their answer’s sorry but its a 10-11 year old appliance and they dont perform as well when theyre that old is the final word from them. My question to her was why didnt anyone mention that before we committed to the repair, she was silent on that. Sooo, I will not advocate KitchenAid as a quality product again much less purchase another of their appliances. I will advise others to look elsewhere when shopping for appliances! I have also filed a dispute with my credit card company in an effort to recover some of the cost we incurred.

I have owned my KSF26CXYY04 side by side for about a year. It does keep food correctly cooled and there have not been problems with leaks or other mechanical issues. However, the drawers (bins) are designed so that all the tension is on tiny triangles. We have had two drawers crack at this stress point and consequently they are unusable. Replacement drawers were ordered $90 a piece plus $20 min. fee for delivery ($200 and counting). It wouldnt be bad if that solved the problem, but it is a matter of time before these also break. I have never had this issue with any other refrigerator.

We have owned this refrigerator for 7 years, and it started to leak. Wood floor and all the other issues included. Since we had extended warranty, we contacted the company. Although it did take longer than I hoped to have them come out, but thank goodness we think the problem is fixed, thanks to a great serviceman from A&E. He was an older repairman, and I give credit to that. He seemed very experienced and it was fixed within one and a half hour. After I read all the reviews before he came I was very discouraged, but he explained what the problem was and it sure makes sense. When he came, he removed the panel, defrosted all the ice and blew air through the drainage hose. Once the drainage hose was cleaned out, we found in the drain pan a plug of vegetables (frozen kale) He explained that this must have fallen on the bottom of the freezer, ended up in the drainage hose and plugged it up.Once it was all cleaned up, we have not had a problem. So what is of great importance in the future is that a person does not let pieces of vegetables fall into the bottom of the freezer. Because it might get stuck again into the drainage hose. I hope I have saved other owners from this misery and maybe prevent you from the same problem we had.

We purchased KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDS30IXSS1 approximately 3 years ago, stainless steel. Performed well the first 5 or 6 months. Has been nothing but trouble with the control panel. Fortunately while still under warranty, the recommended repair store replaced the control panel. Very touchy control panel, and not in a good way. After warranty ran out, have had the control panel replaced 2 more times. Its happened AGAIN. We cannot turn on the dishwasher. First time we bought a KitchenAid dishwasher, and will definitely be our last KitchenAid we buy for any kind of appliance. Stay away from this model!!! Considering how much it cost, very very frustrating. One day the control panel will let us turn it on, the next day not. Then it might work again the next day... Like its possessed. But has been a few days of trying the buttons off and on, and no luck with turning on. Hmm, should we pay for another control panel or just buy a new one?? Advice or recommendations?

I remodeled my kitchen in June of 2012 and installed all KitchenAid appliances. Two weeks after the warranty was up on my dishwasher, it stopped working. I decided to get a contract, in case something happened again. Well it did. In 2014, the panel needed to be replaced, and today I just had a service person in to fix it again because its not cleaning the dishes. So to date, I have spent another $600 on this dishwasher, in addition to its original cost. The next time it breaks, Im just going to buy a new one -- and it will not be a KitchenAid! One other thing to note. I complained and complained to KitchenAid about the problems, thinking that they would do something to make up for the issues. But all I received was a form letter that basically said, too bad!

Today I phoned for my 4th service call for this 2 year old KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS30FXSS. It simply doesnt clean the dishes, leaving a food residue on mainly the top rack of dishes. Each time, the serviceman has cleaned out the chopper and pump (beware: there is no removable filter for this model) and it cleans for a few weeks, then we start washing by hand until I can find a time to stay home for another service person to come out to do the same thing. Even though I purchased the 4 year extended warranty, KitchenAid has denied this 4th claim. I have been a loyal KitchenAid customer, and will be replacing this dishwasher with different brand. What a waste of money and resources.

Purchased the machine almost 3 years ago. It has been a good machine with the exception of the plastic support for the top rack which breaks about every 12 to 14 months. Apparently looking on YouTube this is a common occurrence and not just an isolated incident. The part is $20 plus shipping, but buy 2 and replace the other side at the same time, it will save on inconvenience. I am baffled by dishwashers these days. None seem to last. Our KitchenAid electric wall oven indicated temperature drops 50-60 degrees whenever the temperature is adjusted or if the door is opened momentarily. Then its necessary to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to rise and for the timing to begin or resume. Weve used other brand ovens and this has never happened with them. The KitchenAid Chat respondent says it was designed this way. Hard to believe, since they must have had numerous complaints about this problem. These days, with all the enthusiasm about home cooking, such a design problem is a very bad one, and very unacceptable for anyone interested in cooking at home. We certainly advise against buying any KitchenAid product if this indicates the quality of their designs and response to problems.

The Kitchenaid French Door refrigerator (KFIS25XVMS8) has an ice dispenser that is poorly designed. When you remove your glass from the dispenser, the dispenser continues to eject ice, all over the hardwood floor. This has occurred since the refrigerator was purchased six months ago. The repairman sent by Kitchenaid said that this was normal operation and could not be fixed. Kitchenaids customer service said the same thing. This is a terrible design and makes the ice dispenser unusable. The refrigerator is otherwise OK.

When I re-did my kitchen I went with all Kitchen-Aid Appliances based on reputation. I included the Kitchen-Aid 25.8 CF French Door, 5-drawer refrigerator. I purchased all of this in 10/1/16. I am now on my second repair. About 2 years ago the fridge part stopped working and a technician had to replace a coil. Today my freezer stopped working. It is very disheartening to know how much was spent on the this product just to have it break down every two years. I called Kitchen-Aid directly who stated they can send out a service guy out of warranty. That is also, in my opinion, bad customer service. This is a higher end product that they are not willing to work with me on. I will rely on my home warranty for this repair but be mindful if you are thinking of buying this refrigerator.

Avoid at all costs the custom Architect series of KitchenAid 48inch built-in refrigerators. This $8,000 custom refrigerator has severe problems with the icemaker. I took delivery and installation of this refrigerator. From day one, the ice maker has not worked. It rains water into the freezer leaving ice all over the freezer. Two so-called KitchenAid repairmen came out the second and fourth day. They cant find the solution. After 10 days of no ice, they hope to replace some part that might fix the problem. The fact is that this unit has a design problem that may never be rectified. There is no reason a brand-new unit should have this problem and the service persons cannot fix it. This indicates either a KitchenAid ice maker design problem or incompetency on the part of repair/service providers. This kind of headache is unacceptable just to have ice cubes and cold milk! I should have gotten a cheaper fridge at one tenth the cost. If you research the reliability records of other built-in fridges, Sub-zero, Thermador, etc, they all have major issues with their ice makers and their compressors. I hope that Pacific Sales, now owned by Best Buy, can help rectify this nightmare. They want me to keep this defective fridge and give me an extended warranty to cover predictable malfunctions. Not a good way to start out. I could understand if this was a 10-year old unit but not with a brand new lemon!

Purchased a $7000 Kitchen Aid refrigerator 6 years ago (KSSO48FTX02) at the suggestion of the salesman at JC Perreault in Montreal. Thankfully our $25,000 purchase of appliances did not include any other Kitchen Aid products as my recent problem has been nothing short of a customer service nightmare. Our refrigerator, which other than a constant noise problem, had been relatively reliable. Last month, a constant beeping sound and on/off of a motor was observed. In addition the control panel lights were constantly flashing whenever the door was opened. For 3 days - getting through the 800 number was impossible - so I was forced to call an outside tech. Upon hearing of the problem he informed me that there was a 90% chance the motherboard was fried. I told him to come over anyhow and in 5 minutes of pressing buttons he confirmed it - AND that the replacement part was DISCONTINUED by Kitchen Aid because of the Tsunami in Japan 5 years ago! The only fix would be a black market repair and it would cost me $2000, and it might not even work! When I finally got through to customer service at KA, they confirmed that the part was no longer being made and they suggested I check out Ebay or Amazon for replacements! The nightmare continues as I try to decide whether or not to cut my losses and buy a new fridge - and remodel my kitchen in the process since this one was built-in. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT MADE BY KITCHEN AID, or Whirlpool or Jenn-air.

I checked to make sure they received my warranty. No answer. Now my stove wont come on and the oven wont come on. When I put the knobs on, no red light. We pulled it out and made sure it was clean. Knobs fell on and cant get on. Now we are stuck. Glad I didnt the cheap one as this one is a piece of junk. Dont know what to do. I figured the mixer is awesome. Not the appliances. I bought a higher end KitchenAid Dishwasher model W10502124A. It is almost 2 years old. I started having trouble with it after I used it for about a year. I took out the racks and got a flashlight inside the tub. It was covered with mold, grease and food residue. I took the spinner and cover off and cleaned the filter. It was somewhat dirty, so I cleaned out everything. I disinfected everything and put it back together. About 3 months later, I took out the racks again. The inside was covered in filth, grease and mold. I took it apart again and took out the food chopper assembly.First of all the food chopper was jammed into the opening, so it would have been impossible for it to even turn the blades. When I disassembled the unit, it appeared (I am not a professional repair person) that one of the arms that hold the shaft in the plastic assembly was broken off. I put the unit back together as well as I could. At least the blade could turn now. Its been about 2 months and there is powder residue left in my top rack, the dishes are not getting clean and I have finally summoned a repairman. I did contact KitchenAid and their cheerful reply was you need to call a professional repairman.

We purchased our home 11 years ago new, with several builders grade items, including a relatively cheap GE dishwasher. We got about 7 years of service out of it, and decided to upgrade to a quiet KitchenAid dishwasher we bought at Lowes. Within 2 years, the plastic pieces of the upper rack started to crack. When we called KitchenAid to get them replaced, they told us that a) they were now owned by Whirlpool; b) the rack and parts werent covered by a warranty. So they kindly offered to sell us the parts. We bought them, at about 1/4 of the cost of the entire dishwasher. Now its been two years, and those same parts have cracked again. The dishwasher wont even come on at this point. Purchased Kitchen Aid dishwasher model KDTM404KPS from Home Depot in Nov2020. The 1st dishwasher had a problem day 1. It was extremely loud. Like a jet plane crashing. Metal grinding weird burning smell. I called Home Depot & told them it wasn’t working. I refused repair & demanded a replacement. I then had to spend 10hrs dealing with Home Depot & Whirlpool customer service before they would agree to replace the unit. The 2nd unit had to be returned because it arrived with massive damage to the door. Huge dent. The 3rd unit was finally installed in Dec2020. However, it still makes a lot of noise. Nowhere near their 44dba rating they claim. It’s the loudest dishwasher I have ever owned. Also, the dishes come out with a white haze. They come out dirtier than when you put them in. I’m going to call customer service again. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned.

I called for service and the first 2 times the tech literally said that all oven temperatures vary, this is to be expected! By the 3 call my oven started blinking message across the stovetop panel. They finally replace the computer system and told me I no longer had a warranty. At this point my range was 4 months old.. This same model although the oven is working the cleaning part is not. I have tried multiple time but the water does not get hot enough or steam long enough to clean the oven. To make matters worse, the front glass panel has so many grease stains in between the two glass panels that Im embarrassed to have people in my kitchen as it appears I have never cleaned the glass.. I was told the only way it can be cleaned is to remove the screws and bolts inside, clean the inside of the panels then replace. The technician also said its a waste of time as those streaks will come back the first time you use your oven and each time you remove the screws the tightness of the door panel loosens and heat will escape..
