I had an issue with the icemaker (not making ice). I called KitchenAid and technician came out. He stated he needed to order a part. We left for the weekend, came back and because the technician did not restart the refrigerator, we lost everything in the refrigerator and freezer. That was 3 months ago and icemaker is still not fixed.

We have been in our brand new house for six weeks now with our upgraded KitchenAid appliances and have used the dishwasher less than 10 times. Last week lights started blinking, called KitchenAid and they had me press some buttons, unplug for a while and then referred me to a local authorized service center. Repair person came out, did exactly what I did, wrote some notes and told me he would have to have KitchenAid authorize the order of a control board. Really????? I waited a week for the technician to do exactly the same thing KitchenAid had me do? Now it will be another week before the part comes in? Hugely disappointed in this product. I had my previous dishwasher (GE Profile) in my other house -- also brand new -- for 14 years with NO problems whatsoever. Very disillusioned with KitchenAid right now.

It’s an $840 fiasco. Almost from the beginning it would not clean the dishes. They came out dirtier! Food crusted on, glasses with a dirty grim on the outside, coffee stains still in the cups, silverware greasy. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn the hot water temp up on my hot water heater and Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye.” How does that help my bottom line? The hotter water had impact. I called again. I was told: Use the Pots & Pans setting and thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Still no improvement. I called again, and was told to check the drain . . . Thanks for calling KitchenAid. Good bye. Notice here they did not record my complaints: no name, address or model number was taken and no record of my complaints was ever taken. Finally—finally—after several more complaints and letters, they send a repair person out from KitchenAid no less. Nope, not our fault. I had to pay $185 for that news. Today, I took out 4 cereal bowls that are still filthily with stuck on grime, a greasy pancake flipper, food stuck to the silverware and on and on. I am appalled that KitchenAid has gotten so bad that the only thing left going for them is what is left of a once good name. I will never purchase another new item from them again, and that means the entire family of appliances. I am appalled.

Redid my kitchen with my dream kitchen and replaced it with all beautiful KitchenAid appliances. Replaced dishwasher after 5 years that was 6 months ago. And now looks like I am going to have to replace my double wall ovens after reading everyones comments on the e5 f1 costing $700. I might as well go buy new. And by the way I replaced my dishwasher not with Kitchenaid. I will doing the same with my ovens.

As above, with normal use, first one, then a second and a third wheel has come off the top rack rendering the rack unable to be moved. We took it out and are using only the bottom rack. We are waiting for this to be fixed. It is unacceptable that the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place have broken already, exactly 13 months after purchase. Our previous dishwasher lasted more than 15 years and the only reason we replaced it was because we updated our kitchen.

KitchenAid 21.9 cu ft Refigerator - KBFS22EWMS. Two year old 22 ft french door fridge with bottom freezer is falling apart. Poor build quality, poor service. For over two months, the freezer portion has be experiencing a build up of ice. We defrosted (manually) and build up began again. Waited for over a month for service man to visit. Upon inspection, service noted two things: 1) thermal defrost coil was faulty and 2) fridge door seal needed to be replaced. Our fridge does not experience abnormal usage, two adults and two university students. Why does a door seal deteriorate after two years unless...... its poor quality or defective... but no warranty?? (I have a 20 year old back of fridge in the basement, no problems other than its almond in colour). Why does a coil not work other than its defective or poor quality..... No warranty??? (I have a 25 year old deep freeze that still works). In addition to the defective manufacture and poor quality of this fridge, neither KitchenAid / Whirlpool or the service company can identify the part (i.e part number) to order, replace and fix the fridge. How do you build a product and not know the parts that go into it? Poor or lack of quality control! In the last two years I purchased a fridge, dual fuel range and dishwasher; all were KitchenAid. All were billed as being the best Kitchenaid had. I have had major repairs now on all three appliances! I bought and paid extra for KitchenAid, their quality was in theory better than most, NOT in my experience. In our home KitchenAid stands for KitchenDisabled or Kitchen in need of first aid. Poor build quality and poorer product knowledge and documentation. Run do not walk away from Kitchenaid/Whirlpool. They have a 1 year warranty on parts; is this because they know that within 14 months you will need to be replaced and thereby earn extra revenue from their parts sale? Interesting strategy and sales plan, poor customer service and reputation. Built NOT to last.

I purchased a suite of appliances after a home renovation and recently took delivery. The refrigerator (Model KRFC704FBS00) has not worked properly since it was installed on January 10, 2018. The water on the door does not work at all, the door for the filter does not snap closed. The water was leaking so badly at one point I had to shut the water line off. I am on the my second service company and they still cant get it right. And that is just the refrigerator!!! Two of knobs on the stove were bent. The vented microwave above the stove has a handle that gets so hot you risk third degree burns if God forbid you forget to cover your hand before you pull the door open! I rarely use the dishwasher so I cant comment on that. PLEASE stay away from KitchenAid especially the Bella series!! I have learned that KitchenAid stopped making this series because of so many problems but that does not stop stores selling this garbage. I am really upset with Whirlpool, the service companies , the salesman and the store on Route 35 in Middletown, NJ that sold me this mess!

We have had KitchenAid dishwashers for 20 years. I got this dishwasher three years ago after six months, it wasn’t cleaning the dishes. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the wrong detergent. I switched to Cascade. The fact that you need to buy a special detergent to go with these dishwashers seemed pretty peculiar, but I did it. Since then I’ve had a repairman out three times because it leaks, wasn’t cleaning the dishes, water wasn’t emptying, and now all of the wheels have dissolved and fallen off the dishwasher on the bottom rack. They have melted onto the drying bar. I am grateful they didn’t start a fire. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the detergent Cascade and that dissolves the plastic on the dishwasher wheels.... WHAT???? I finally called kitchenaid and she told me that have never heard of this ever happening and that my warranty was out. I told them that not have if any wheels on my bottom rack was inexcusable and I demanded they send me wheels. Finally they said they would. That was 7 days ago. They said they would send them but if I couldn’t put them on I’d have to hire someone, they would not pay for that. I am very disappointed in kitchen aid, and will never, ever buy another.

Fridge not getting cold, produce draws both sides broke and now... I cant get my freezer open. Each time contacted KitchenAid... no help. I cant get onto freezer!!! Our ice cream was liquid by morning time. Luckily we didnt put everything in there after we thought something was off about the freezer. WHY in the WORLD would KitchenAid sell such a piece of junk to their customers. I bought this thinking it would be good quality, but all I have is headaches. I hope I can just return this and get something else...SOON!!! I would love to know if there is ever a lawsuit over this fridge because I would sue-thats how bad this fridge is.

KitchenAid? More like KitchenFRAYED. Yesterday morning as we performed our regular cleaning on our KitchenAid fridge, a food takeout bag inside (not plastic) began to smoke. After several minutes of searching the house, looking for the fire, we checked inside the smoke infused fridge, noticing a charred bag as a result of the clearly DANGEROUS light bulb inside. What was a charred bag of smoke and ashes QUICKLY BURST INTO FLAMES!!! We had to call KitchenAid the following day (today) as they clearly do NOT take safety as a priority and have their phone lines open on Sundays and were immediately told it was our fault, not theirs, and completely BLAMED FOR the high-risk situation their fridge caused. Had we left the house or left the bag to smolder unknowingly, our whole HOUSE could have caught fire!!!There is pets and CHILDREN in this household but we were just informed it was our fault for leaving our barbeque takeout bag in the fridge it was required to be in. Horrible customer service, RUDE, unwilling to take responsibility and even wanted us to PAY to have it looked at after we couldve suffered the loss of our house, pets and family members inside. TRULY unbelievable and disgusted by KitchenAid. This fridge has had its issues from DAY ONE. We had to get a replacement immediately as it began to rust on its exterior within its first week in our house.Soon, bins began to crumble, plastic shards filling the interior as we suffered to obtain replacements. Of course, they were highly reluctant to send replacements and sent the bare minimum. HAZARDOUS, RUDE and IRRESPONSIBLE most definitely sum up the company as a whole. Do not recommend, especially if you wish to live your maximum lifespan and preserve your family, pets and friends.

I purchased a new refrigerator less than 90 days ago when it started malfunctioning. First the water dispenser wouldnt work (unless I was in another room when it would come on and dispense all by itself and all over my floor). Then the ice dispenser wouldnt work, followed by every other possible mechanical failure. The doors did not seal and the ice dispenser wouldnt seal properly causing frost to form around it and on the back panel inside the fridge. Now it wont cool properly. The store said it would take over a week to get a new computer panel and kits to fix the seals. I have to unplug and plug back in to get it to run at all.The KitchenAid customer experience center said they will only repair it, not exchange it and essentially “Too bad, so sad for you. There is nothing for us to do.” I have filed a claim in small claims court to get the purchase price of $3800.00 back and will have to get another fridge in the meantime. Extremely poor product and even worse service from the local store and manufacturer.

Design problems: Veggie & meat bins difficult to remove to wash as fridge door hinges don’t open far enough; ice bin jams, mechanism is frozen in place & won’t dispense, warm water must be poured in to release it, making a huge wet mess; front panels on both freezer pull-out baskets fall off dumping items on kitchen floor; very poor insulation - outside of fridge is always cold. I purchased all new KitchenAid stainless steel appliances in October 2009 from Bad Boy in Whitby. I also purchased the Gold extended warranty. I noticed about a week ago March 24, 2015 that the bottom of the fridge (model: KBRS22KVss1 and S/N KY3628480) has a crack right in the middle coming out from under the deli drawer. I called Bad Boy but of course the extended warranty expired in December 2014. I then checked the warranty in the KitchenAid manual but it expired the same time. I have never in all my 62 years seen or heard of a cracked liner yet in the manual it states it will pay for replacement or repair of the refrigerator/freezer cavity liner if the part cracks due to defective materials or workmanship. Just on the off chance I called KitchenAid....Due to the age of the refrigerator there is no warranty but they can send a serviceman for $89.00 for the first 15 mins. I talked to the parts department to get an idea of that cost and the liner is not a replaceable part but they do have a patch kit. He could not tell me how much that would be or what it consists of as its a service kit and hes not a serviceman. Beware appliances are made to last 5 years only.

We bought this Convection Oven/Microwave at the same time as our oven, KEBS107SS, and cooktop, KFGS 206VSS. After buying it at Sears and coming home and reading the reviews here, I was ready to cancel the purchase. Decided instead to purchase the 5 year extended warranty. Buying warranties is something we dont do. However, we were spending so much on these 3 appliances and after reading the complaints on the oven and microwave, we did purchase the 5 year warranty on the oven and the microwave. Less than 18 months later, the microwave went out. The service guy has been out twice with a 3rd trip scheduled. I have been without my microwave for 13 days and it will be another 10 waiting for the parts. The worst part was being without it while needing to cook for 25 during Christmas, which is not something Id expect to do with a microwave weve had less than 18 months. Next time we buy appliances, I will read reviews before we purchase and I will not purchase from KitchenAid. KitchenAid doesnt care about their consumers who buy their products. (That is a story Ill need to write on our cooktop that we didnt purchase the warranty on.) There are other appliances out there with better reviews. The KitchenAid appliances look nice, but the quality is not there. Our last microwave that was over the oven was not even broken when we replaced it and it was 15 years old without ever having a service call. It was GE and was the microwave that came with the house. It wasnt even an upgraded appliance! I dont write reviews, but I learned so much from reading these, and now that we are having problems with a relatively new appliance, I decided to write this for others.

We built our house 3 years ago. We chose a KitchenAid kude48fxss6 for our dishwasher. We chose the higher end model thinking it would be better. The dishwashers 1st issue was in our 2nd year of having it. A gasket of some kind went on the inside. The water during the cycle found the path of least resistance out, and cause a fair bit of water damage to our floor by the time we came home and saw. My husband repaired the dishwasher with a $5 part. The parts store commented that it was a very frequently breakdown on these dishwashers. Next came the plastic nub that connected the top basket to the roller. Each basket has 4 of these nubs. Plastic becomes brittle over time especially when exposed to hot Temps and water. So not surprisingly one broke. And now mother recently the entire connection piece that the baskets roll on has broke.Fortunately my husband has been able to fix these items but its extremely disappointing that we spent good money on such garbage and also have to still repair a damaged section of floor. There isnt any accountability for the disposable garbage these manufacturers make. The use the cheapest components designed to last just long enough though standard warranty so that you are stuck repairing and or replacing. It should be criminal. They should take notes from the Toyota production systems and learn about continuous improvement. Then people would be fistful to the brand and their businesses would thrive rather than their current model of cheat and deceit. Sincerely, a mom of 3 little kids who has better things to do than wash extra dishes.

The door and bins are the only good organization component. Unused space as too many high places. Ice maker the other day pumped water into the freezer area and leaked out onto the floor. My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel failure twice now. The first time it’s just the oven that would not light and one of the panels (there are evidently 3) was faulty and was replaced under warranty. The second time the electronic control panel short-circuited and turned on the convection fan, which got red hot. Sparks and smoke were coming from under the burners, which is where the panels are located. I was not using the stove at all, but thankfully I was home! I was able to throw the circuit breaker in the basement. When the stove stopped glowing red, I pulled it out from the wall and unplugged it. The repairman that first came is no longer available. I have not been able to find anyone that has a card for both electric and gas. Customer service expressed regret that they could not help me find a repairman, but said to let them know should I find one. What? I will not repair this stove. I consider it an extremely dangerous appliance and do not want it in my house. I feel that Whirlpool should do everything they can to correct the situation for other consumers. Ive found other mention of the same failure with this model.

I purchased a new refrigerator (KitchenAid refrigerator kfs25xvms9) that throws ice everywhere. I had a repairman come to look at it and I was told to use a bigger glass. If I go to something bigger, then I will be using a bowl. This has been embarrassing because I have to tell everyone who comes to the house to Stop! Let me get a bowl or the ice will end up on the floor! I have all new appliances and I was told what I was buying was good stuff but I have to use a bowl to get ice. My question is, why have they not recalled the plastic piece that is supposed to put the ice in the glass? If I had been able to try it out in the store, I certainly would not have bought this model. I really hope that Whirlpool will stand behind what they sell and recall this plastic piece and replace it with one that will do the job. Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I have several media contacts and once they report on all this I am hopeful that consumers will boycott your product. I also bought a 6300.00 refrigerator from the Great Outdoors in 2011. They were closing and since Sears owned them I purchased a floor model that was on display in a cabinet but had no power on to it. So I figured I saved 1100.00 between the brand new one. Wrong, I was told by the salesperson that it was a new model but when it was delivered and I tried to register it, it was manufactured in 2007. I called the store and Sears but since my receipt was stamped no refunds or exchanges they got me good. So now 3 years later the damn thing never worked right from the start and I have called it a piece of ** from the beginning. Guess what, my control panel out!! They do not have the part, tsunami story told and then broken contract with other company. I immediately called KitchenAid because I could not believe what this Tech was saying. Either I find an outside company with a rebuilt Control Panel or I can wheel the refrigerator to the side of the and basically its junk. KitchenAid confirm that they did not have the part and that the manufacturer was destroyed in the tsunami and the other company that has been listed several of these others complain are no longer is willing to make the control panels for them. I might have a chance of them rebuilding one for me directly and proceeded to provide the phone number for me which was wrong having to call them back and spend another 30 minutes on the phone. Another woman gave me two different phone numbers, none of them worked as well. After the third phone call I was provided with a company name and phone number they gave me that will certainly sell me a rebuilt one. I just paid $1200 for a rebuilt board. Interesting enough this company is offering a 10 year warranty on a rebuild control panel however KitchenAid only offers a one year warranty. I am sure kitchen Aid knew there was problems with this board for years. They should have recalled that or extend the warranty. I have never heard of a company not having a part in to be able to fix these refrigerator when people have paid so much money for them. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard and are able to pick enough for a new $8500-$10,000 refrigerator which I do not. They should stock the part and be able to control the market from other outside companies hiking it up prices to their desperate customers that just need their refrigerators fixed, realistically the part probably cost about $2.00 to make. I called KitchenAid as well, they said theyre putting in my case up for review to do the prorated. Its changed. From what Ive heard $1500 doesnt equal $6000 and these parts are not that expensive to obtain. This is absolutely the most hideous thing Ive ever seen a company do. This is the United States. This is a huge corporation. I hope everyone never buys a KitchenAid product again. Why would anyone in their right mind take $1500 for refrigerator thats worth more so we have no choice but to go to outside venues for these parts? Again outrageous, ridiculous and the most disgusting thing a manufacturing company can do. If they’re so willing to cough up the prorated amount why dont they do the right thing and at least split the cost of the part with the consumer if theyre giving them willy nilly numbers of outside companies and not controlling the market. Why would a company offer a 10 year warranty and not the manufacturer? I have purchased KitchenAid products for years. My whole kitchen is full of this top-of-the-line series. I will be slowly changing every single KitchenAid product out of my kitchen and if I am going to spend the money on that type of product itll certainly be Sub-Zero that offers a 12 year warranty from top to bottom on the refrigerators. There are hardly any bad reviews about Sub-Zero. KitchenAids competitors seems like they at least know how to stand behind their consumer. Shame on you KitchenAid. This is disgusting. Oh by the way, the tech Whirlpool factory care that KitchenAid called for me cause if I used someone else, my what little of a piece of junk warranty is left would be void. Charged me $145.00 for call and removal of board and oh by the way I have to have him reinstall the board for another $145.00. Cause warranty on motor and compressor will be voided if I reinstall. Pissed off!!

Nice arrangement of racks and silverware holders. It fairly quiet but not silent for sure. Purchased in about 2002. Only complaint is that the dishwasher sometimes leaks. Architect Series II Model KDTE704DBL0 is a $1,799 piece of junk. We purchased this top of the Kitchenaid line dishwasher to replace a 16 year old Bosch dishwasher. It was installed on May 11, 2015. Just two years later, in May, 2017, the control panel which operates the entire machine failed. It was still under warranty (labor not covered). It took a week to get the part which was replaced on May 26, 2017 at the cost of $100 for labor. About two weeks later, on June 10, 2017 the replacement control panel failed. This time it took over two weeks to get the replacement part. It was installed at the end of June. The owner of the appliance store gave me a break and only charged $50 labor this time.On Thursday, September 7, 2017 the second replacement control panel failed. And I am once again without a dishwasher. I have not yet heard when the third replacement control panel might be delivered and installed. And even when the dishwasher is repaired... After this how can I have any confidence that it will work for long? It was a horrible decision to buy this dishwasher. The price was three to four times the cost of the average dishwasher. I thought we were purchasing a quality product that would last for many years. I am so disappointed by how unreliable this dishwasher has proven to be. I wish I had stuck with the Bosch. My sister bought a Bosch for $1,200 a few months before I needed to replace my 16 year old Bosch. Its working fine and she loves it.

I bought a higher end KitchenAid Dishwasher model W10502124A. It is almost 2 years old. I started having trouble with it after I used it for about a year. I took out the racks and got a flashlight inside the tub. It was covered with mold, grease and food residue. I took the spinner and cover off and cleaned the filter. It was somewhat dirty, so I cleaned out everything. I disinfected everything and put it back together. About 3 months later, I took out the racks again. The inside was covered in filth, grease and mold. I took it apart again and took out the food chopper assembly.First of all the food chopper was jammed into the opening, so it would have been impossible for it to even turn the blades. When I disassembled the unit, it appeared (I am not a professional repair person) that one of the arms that hold the shaft in the plastic assembly was broken off. I put the unit back together as well as I could. At least the blade could turn now. Its been about 2 months and there is powder residue left in my top rack, the dishes are not getting clean and I have finally summoned a repairman. I did contact KitchenAid and their cheerful reply was you need to call a professional repairman.

We purchased a high end KitchenAid refrigerator (almost 3,000) and began having problems within 6 months. Have had 6 technician visits to attempt to fix (back of refrigerator freezes up, cant get filtered water, stops cooling and food rots in our absence). EVERY replaceable part that is not considered part of the inner compartment has been replaced. Our last technician, in writing, wrote that there was nothing else that could be done except replace the entire refrigerator and that ours was a lemon. I called the manufacturer (Whirlpool/KitchenAid) and they told me that I had a problem and they didnt, in other words... I was SOL. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID REFRIGERATOR or for that matter ANYTHING under the WHIRLPOOL umbrella since they will not stand by their products. Buy a GE!

Bought our KitchenAid spring 2016. November 2016, I noticed our cupboards next to the dishwasher are ruined because someone at KitchenAid had a brilliant idea of doing a side steam vent instead of a front vent. Clearly the product designer at KitchenAid has never used their own product... or they just dont care about the consumers buying a poorly designed product.

I have had this Electric range KSEG950E for about 2 years and have had major problems with its self-cleaning technology. For starters, it simply doesnt work, even after repeated cycles. Cleaning out the water after the cycle is finished is tiresome. And the side and back panels never come clean. Its nearly impossible to scrub out these areas, as you can only use nonabrasive pads, and the oven is so deep, you cant reach in far enough to clean effectively. Even soil on the reachable areas is a challenge to clean, using only the recommended non-scratch scrubbing sponges and fresh kitchen appliance cleaner (the addition of which is recommended for hard to remove soil).Im not a heavy oven user and have tried to clean oven at the slightest sign of soil build-up. Once more, being 5 7, Id think that reaching around inside the oven to scrub should be easy. But after the lengthy clean-up sessions, I hardly need to go to the gym for exercise! Surfing the net, I see that Im not the only very dissatisfied customer! It may be good publicity to have low-energy cleaning technology. But if it doesnt work well, it cant earn high marks for the company.

I learned Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service definition: The customer is responsible for serving KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I purchased a YKDSS907SS04 less than a year ago. The burners do not work correctly, heating unevenly and either taking too long to cook or burning food. I contacted Customer service, who gave the call to their local authorized service center. They called me back telling me they are not licensed to work on dual fuel ranges and would send the call back to Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Then the nightmare began. I received a call from Whirlpools re-scheduling department telling me to find a local repair shop and send them the bill. I refused. It is not my job to do their job. I followed up with a fax, received a call from their Executive Office - a woman named Carrie **. I could not take the call at the time. I called her back several times over the period of a week and only received a prompt return call after I threatened to contact my attorney. The story did not change - since Whirlpool cannot provide customer service, it is my job as their customer to provide service to them by finding a repair shop in the local Yellow Pages. Nothing changed. The story the same - different name. When I suggested to Ms. ** that Whirlpool should not sell their products in a market where they cannot service them, she told with a screaming tone of voice, that Whirlpool did not sell me the unit directly - but wholesaled it to Sears. Oh well. Forgive my poorly informed status. I initiated the service call reluctantly since I am uncomfortable about the fact that this is not a KitchenAid service provider. However, I will probably get much better service from them - since KitchenAid expect me - their customer - to service them. Carrie ** constantly interrupted me, screamed, and informed me that she would note my file that I refused to find a local provider, which would delay the warranty repair process and be noted in any legal action. BTW does a delayed return phone call qualify? Ms. **s voice mail states that she returns calls within 48 business hours. Well, she only works 8 hour days - I forgot - meaning it takes 6 days to receive a call.

My KitchenAid dishwasher caught fire caused damage to my home. There was a class action lawsuit with a substantial settlement/compensation to the owners. KitchenAid offered me $100 off MSRP for a new dishwasher. I can purchase a new dishwasher for hundreds off msrp at my local mom and pop store. KitchenAids offer is not only insulting and offensive but also no different to what they offer all their customers with minor complaints. Kitchenaid dishwashers involved in the lawsuit were found to be faulty and downright dangerous as they catch fire and can burn a home down. Had I not been home at the time, my home would have been destroyed and $100 is what they think is appropriate. KitchenAid does not stand by their products nor do they provide support or assistance.

We purchased a Kitchen Aid Refrigerator (Model KRFF507ESS, 27 cu. ft, French door with ice/water machine) and in the 4 years weve had it, weve spent almost 50% of the purchase price (close to $1300) on repairs. This model has a documented problem with the frozen fresh food evaporator - Google the issue and youll find numerous customer complaints about this very issue. Most recently, the ice maker stopped working and we were told itd be an additional $455 of repair. The authorized service repairman in our area (whom weve gotten to know due to the ongoing repair issues) even commented during this most recent visit that the KitchenAid models hes serviced last, on average, 8 years. When I explained the situation to KitchenAid Customer Service this afternoon, they offered to schedule a non-warranty service for me (i.e., something I could literally do by picking up the phone myself). After being transferred to a KitchenAid supervisor, I was then told that theyd offer me a 40% discount off a brand new product. After spending almost $1300 on a $2600 refrigerator! AS IF. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. We thought we were purchasing a quality product and its been nothing but a lemon, requiring costly repair after costly repair. We take impeccable care of all appliances/products, which is what made this situation all the more frustrating. Folks, be sure you purchase those extended warranties! You will need them with your KitchenAid refrigerator!!!!

Our KitchenAid dishwasher came with our new house and it is indeed very quiet and does a good job washing dishes. The third rack is great improvement over the door-mounted utensil rack in our old Whirlpool (same company). However after two years st started blowing the circuit breaker and a second technician said it was a bad control board. These are back ordered 3-4 weeks. It has been down for a month and probably another month or more before it gets repaired. KitchenAid ought to keep a stock of parts that are failing on their products. It was the same problem getting the microwave fixed 6 months ago.

I also purchased an extended five year warranty from H.H. Gregg for $149.99 but they too refuse to honor it. Thank God we opted for an extended appliance warranty because after every holiday with lots of use, we need to have the hinges replaced on one or both oven doors. Our KitchenAid stainless steel 5 burner built-in cooktop with Downdraft Vent has also needed replacement four times in the last 10 years and has been repaired five times in between the replacements due to the burners failure to light, or the burning of the bottom of our pots and pans due to burner malfunctions needing the burners to be removed and replaced.

I have owned the refrigerator for 3 years now and have nothing but problems. First time I did not buy extended warranty and it has bitten me. 1 1/2 years in and the fridge stops cooling. Repairman came out and said it lost Freon. He fixed it and it only lasted a month. Called different repairman out and he said same thing that fridge lost Freon but this time he would have to take to shop to repair. Fridge gone for 2 weeks. Both of these companies were recommended by KitchenAid for warranty work. I never paid a dime but I was without fridge for a total of 3 weeks and lost all of my food on the first failure. Now it has been about 8 months and now my ice maker has quit working and the fridge is not cooling like it should. Everything is now out of factory warranty and I am not throwing any more money at this thing. So disappointing that I could not get more than 3 years out of a $2200 fridge.

Husband had to turn breaker off and let oven cool down and then turn breaker back on so electronics would unlock door and then was able to get food out. Tried to use oven again and did the same thing. Called Kitchenaid and they would not admit or even acknowledge they were aware of the problem. I told them they had to be aware of the problem because I have seen postings of the same exact problem going all the way back to 2005. Had to ask twice to talk to supervisors at next level to try and get their explanation of what it would take to repair the range. I explained I wanted to talk to someone who had knowledge of what it was required to fix the problem. Someone at KA has to know what is wrong. I am now waiting for the third supervisor to call us back. One posting I read said that in the state of NY there was a class action lawsuit filed against KA. This is an extremely dangerous situation and could cause a serious fire. Do not understand why this problem has not been addressed. The ovens should have been recalled.

We built a new house in 2012 and bought all new KitchenAid appliances. I thought I was buying a great branded product. My natural behavior is to buy the best and when I went in to buy appliances for my new house, I was directed to KitchenAid. I started my experience by having several problems with our microwave and with my cooktop at one time, with the burners not working correctly. I also had the board on our dishwasher go out. However, my fridge is a nightmare. I started having a problem 4 months into my purchase. I bought a French door fridge, and my kids do not always pay attention to how the door closes so once in a while, it stays slightly cracked open. KitchenAid tells me I need to train my 2, 5 and 8 year old kids to check the fridge door. Do you think kids will remember this all the time? The problem is that the beeper does not let you know if someone left it open until after 5 minutes. The other problem is the sound on the beeper. I can hardly hear it, and there is no adjustment for higher volume there either.I can hardly blame kids or teach kids that are 2, 5 and 8 years old to shut a door and check it. I can tell you that I know I bought the most highly priced fridge on the market and a simple timer and beeper on the thing is not adjustable. I cant even get an upgrade to fix my problem. I offered to pay for the fix and nobody can help. I am asking for a louder beeper and a timer for an alarm, and nobody can help. More functionality is what the consumer is asking for. Supposedly, we buy the highest priced item on the market so that we would get more support, or at least an option to add this to your fridge? I would have expected this from cheaper models, but a KitchenAid, as far as what I have been told, is the best. Well, I got room for argument on that one. I went to Sears today and LG and Samsung have adjustable timers and adjustable sound within their appliances. My plan is to buy one and never own a Whirlpool, Kenmore, or KitchenAid ever again because I absolutely cannot get a response from this leadership team within the Whirlpool organization. This is the 6th time since I have owned this fridge that this has happened. I figured, to replace all the food in my fridge, it would cost me $60-$100 each time. At this rate, it is too costly, with your cost of the product and the way it is engineered to afford your products from this point forward. I am not happy about the communication I have gotten from KitchenAid and Whirlpool to address my problem. I am not happy about supposedly purchasing the best brand on the market and not having more flexibility to adjust timers and beepers.I am not happy about having to replace my fridge in my new home 18 months after purchase. I am not happy because I will have to try and match stainless colors on the new Samsung or LG brand product I intend on buying. I am not happy about not being able to match all my appliances in my new home because KitchenAid can’t offer a product with adjustable timers and beepers. I am only one customer, and I never bad mouth anyone’s products. But if someone asks about my new KitchenAid products, I will let them know my experience with customer support and product experiences I had from the Whirlpool umbrella.

We used the Aqualift feature for the first time this weekend on our Kitchenaid oven. The oven really wasnt that dirty, but we wanted to get the glass door cleaner. The Aqualift process did nothing to clean the oven door. No matter how many times we ran the process. We ended up using a half of box of Brillo pads to get the oven door glass clean. This is not what we expected for the price of the range we paid from a kitchen specialty appliance dealer. This experience was unbelievable. The inside of the oven wasnt that much cleaner either. But the 2 cups of water were still sitting on the bottom of the oven like the manual stated. Note: We did not use the Brillo pads on the oven cavity as we did not want to scratch the finish. We have used the pads on other glass items without scratching the glass; therefore did the oven glass door only. It took about 2 hours of manual labor to get the glass cleaned. This will be the last Kitchenaid product we purchase as a result.

It takes longer to run a cycle and has lower pressure than my previous Inglis model. Items on the top shelf sometimes are not thoroughly cleaned. We bought the KitchenAid refrigerator on Sept. 15, 2015 and it arrived with a non-working ice maker. We purchased it from a local Eugene, OR company rather than a big box store. My wife wanted to support a local business. When called about the non-working ice maker that dealer said wait 72 hours to see if it comes on because sometimes it takes that long. Had we known that we could not have made the purchase. Other manufacturers provide ice makers that begin work immediately (e.g., GE or LP). When it did not work 72 hours later we called the dealer again and he said he would call KitchenAid (KA) about warranty service. KA called a couple days later to say the parts were on order and would be ready in about 5 days. Nothing happen after 5 days and our dealer has not been any further help (Appliance and TV Center, Eugene, OR). Given the fact that the refrigerator arrived broken and there appears to be no KA service, we regret this purchase. Others in the market would be well-advised to avoid KitchenAid and look to GE or LP whose appliances have worked well for us.

Did get advice on using quantum finish which helped with cleaning some. Cheap plastic rollers replaced. Now dishwasher rollers and door had to be tightened by repair man. Now needs seal for door because it is leaking. I will not be buying another KitchenAid product after this experience. Was told no recall on product just poorly made by repair company. I agree.

Why is it so difficult to make dependable products these days? We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in January 2013 and the control panel went out twice within the first year and now it is out again and the dishwasher will not run. The model number according to the inside of the machine is W10502126A. Now I just purchased a one year parts/labor warranty which was not cheap to have them come out to replace the panel. I bought the warranty because something tells me this is not a permanent fix rather a band aid as I think it will go out again before the year is up. Expensively made cheap product.

This may be a fine refrigerator; maybe we bought the lemon of the bunch? Either way, KitchenAids repair service/process is TERRIBLE. KitchenAid uses Flamingo Appliance Repair based out of Florida with a branch here in Atlanta. They have been to my house 8 times within 4 weeks and they have been incredibly rude and unhelpful. How many of you have that much time that you can take off from work? Yea, me too! The customer service representatives with KitchenAid and Flamingo have been polite, but all they can do is read to you the script that is written for them. Meanwhile, we have spent $3,000 on a refrigerator that doesnt cool below 50 degrees and the ice maker may or may not dispense ice from the door, which Flamingo cannot address if the one time it decides to work is when the technician is here.. I write this review, because I WISH I would have read this review before purchasing ANY KitchenAid product! Buyer beware!!

I purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher from Lowes a few years ago to replace my 14-year-old perfect Whirlpool. The KitchenAid worked well for awhile, but suddenly the entire inside tub had a film on it, and now every glass, every utensil, every plate, etc., has a white film all over. I have tried everything - changing detergents, washing every dish thoroughly before loading into dishwasher, etc. Nothing has worked. I cant even clean the film off once it is on. After reading the reviews on this site, I feel like calling KitchenAid will only frustrate and upset me. This dishwasher was expensive and it is a huge disappointment. I would advise anyone to look at other brands first.

On 2/4/12, I purchased a Kitchen Aid double oven microwave unit nearly three years ago, when doing a kitchen remodel. All the appliances are Kitchen Aid, thinking we were purchasing a good, reliable brand name. Yesterday, I placed the oven in the self cleaning mode. After about 2 and a half hours, the inner glass panel on the oven door exploded, sending hot, shattered glass onto the floor. The intensity of the heat cracked the new cabinet along the top of the oven. I called the service center, and they indicated there have been no recalls on this problem. I am horrified to think that if my grandchildren were present, they could have been injured. After reading other complaints on this website, I think Kitchen Aid needs to do a recall on this unit. By the way, they did not offer to replace the glass. They said the glass was covered, but not the two service calls to replace it, and the glass can only be ordered by a service technician.

KitchenAid double wall ovens/ WALL OVEN- ELE BI 30 - My LOWER oven (the one not used except on holidays) went out on me on CHRISTMAS as Im cooking a prime rib (at 500 degrees). The ovens have only been installed for a year! Got an error message asking for probe temperature. Wasnt using the probe although I do have the ability to use it. Checked the manual and found I did everything right. I then ended up with an under cooked prime rib for 13 guests. Thanks for that! Then I tried to clean the damned thing since it hadnt cleaned well after Thanksgiving (I usually try to do this when we are in bed because the fumes are so awful). Guess I know why it didnt clean! This time after waiting till everyone left, I opened the windows (glad its a warm December) and the oven wouldnt clean. Got an ERROR message this time of E3F3. Heck if I know what it means. They were able to schedule a service appointment quickly but if they have to order parts, then I have to have another service appointment. All I know is, Ive got an oven that doesnt work during the holidays (Im cooking for NY Day too). I called the extended warranty number and sat on hold for 42 minutes. THIS AFTER HAVING SPENT NEARLY 2 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY BUILT IN KITCHEN AID DISHWASHER FIXED THAT HAS ONLY BEEN IN USE FOR 6 MONTHS! It needed an entire new drum. Nice since it already damaged my NEW cabinets and NEW floor in my NEW kitchen. No offer to fix the damage they caused even though they finally fixed the dishwasher. KitchenAid used to be really good appliances. NOT ANY MORE. I will avoid them in the future!

Our Kitchen Aid Model KFIS29PBMS00 is about 16 months old. We purchased a higher end appliance thinking it would last. It is the loudest (grinding noises) refrigerator I have ever had/heard, but we have dealt with that. When the unit recently stopped cooling we found it was under warranty. When the service technician saw which model it was, he said I knew what the problem would be. It needs a new compressor and evaporation unit. Unfortunately, the fastest it can be repaired is 5 days. Having children and no refrigerator is quite a problem when it comes to eating. Everything in the unit is a total loss. And despite being under warranty, there is nothing Kitchen Aid does to help you during this time with no way to cool food. No loaner and they wont just replace this faulty unit. This is really not customer service. Do not buy this model and if you can help it, do not purchase from KitchenAid because if you have a problem, despite a warranty, it will be a loss.

This Kitchen Aid gas range was less than a month old when the first stuck and shorted key message popped up. The oven would spontaneously try to turn itself on at random times. I had to keep it unplugged when not in use. Then it got so I couldnt turn it on. After four repair sessions (thank God I had protection plan), they replaced it. My biggest mistake was getting the same oven!! How could I have been so stupid. Less than a month after getting it, the oven timer would try to go on and it would keep beeping. Then when I tried to start baking temp, it would only go to 6 degrees and I couldnt push any other buttons. The thing is a piece of crap. AND I have wasted countless days on the phone with SEARS and waiting for the repairman. No more Kitchen Aid for me. So frustrated....

We installed all KitchenAid appliances in our new house which we moved into on September 3, 2014. The microwave/convection appliance (model KBHS179BSS00) failed completely after three days. The store where we purchased it RELUCTANTLY replaced it. That unit worked only in microwave mode. In convection mode, it would not finish a cycle and had to be reset over and over to complete a cycle. KitchenAid replaced this one, but it froze up and could not be cleared to use it again. On December 22, they sent a third one and it also froze up. Today they replaced the entire keypad and electronic motherboard, but it would not work at all. They put the old part back and it is working right now, but they are going to order another new keyboard, etc. The vendor has washed his hands of the problem, so we are at the mercy of KitchenAid. They did tell us they would replace the entire unit again if the new part fails.

I bought a Kitchenaid dish washer (KUDS30IXSS8) based on my experience of decades of reliable, high quality product ownership. If you are reading this, you already know what a complete piece of junk your dish washer is because youre once again repairing the thing. My upper dish rack height adjustment mechanism self destructed after only one year, sending small pieces of plastic into the water flow. Of course they ended up in the food chopper and thus, trashed the blade and plastic shaft assembly. Whirlpool refused to send the part, even though the flawed design from the rack mount is what caused the damaged. They wanted to order a service call, at my expense, or they offered me an extended service plan for $270. The part only cost around $12 from from Amazon. There was plenty of how-to videos on the web to show you how to fix the part, so I opted to fix it myself. The new part looks exactly the same with no structural improvements so Whirlpool continues to put out inferior parts to go perfectly with their inferior products.

I absolutely love my KitchenAid dishwasher. It is so quiet you cannot tell is running. It is energy-efficient and the temperature of the water can be increased if necessary. There are three racks in the machine. The very top rack is flat and holds either cooking utensils or knives, forks, and spoons. That rack can also be removed if you prefer. The machine also has a special feature where you can place bottles directly on individual water spouts that will shoot up into the bottle for a perfect cleaning. The other thing I love about it is Shane is that it has a removable cover that goes over the normal utensil holder automatically separate utensils so they will not stick together during the washing process.

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Its not the company that produced my 30-yr-old KA mixer, is it?

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator Model: KSC24C8EY in March 2013. 13 months later the ice maker started to generate less and less ice. I called KitchenAid for support but they told me the warranty expired so I waited to see what would happen. In June 2015 my kitchen floor flooded with water from the refrigerator, forcing me to call KitchenAid again. They told me they could send someone to fix the problem but asked me to pay $319.00 first. Instead I called and hired a local technician for $75.00 who found out that one of the hoses connected to the ice maker was cracked and leaking. After he replaced the broken hose the ice maker began to function normally and the leaking problem stopped. I am upset that this new refrigerator gave me so many problems, from the leaking hose that consistently flooded the floor to the non-functioning ice maker. After only using it for two years I am very depressed and dissatisfied with the service provided by the machine and KitchenAid.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with KitchenAids failure to stand by their product. I purchased a $3000 stainless steel fridge last year and my fridge is still under warranty, but because the rust is cosmetic, KitchenAid feels no obligation to stand by their expensive stainless steel product and Ive been told that it is rust resistant, but not rust proof. They say all stainless steel can rust in certain environments. I have only used soap and water and never used a stainless steel cleaner or corrosive or abrasive product on the fridge and it is in my newly built and dry house. It is under a year old and I wonder what itll look like in another year. Kitchenaid offered me the opportunity to extend my warranty for hundreds of dollars, but offered no repair or replacement of the rusting door panel I called them about. What kind of stainless steel exists? Low-quality stainless steel with impurities. My stainless steel Bosch range hasnt started rusting and I clean it constantly with various cleaners. Clearly KitchenAids product is inferior and low quality.

I bought this range during a kitchen remodel some months ago. While it is a good-looking range, it is dangerously easy to turn the knobs on without noticing. If you lean against the knobs, Id even say brush up against them, they turn on with no flame, and you end up with gas escaping until somebody smells it. My spouse has no sense of smell, so its usually me that notices. Id say this happens weekly at least. (You also have to be very careful not to lean on the control panel on the top of the stove, as that will turn on the ovens.) Overall, as I said, a nice looking range but this is a design flaw that so far KitchenAid have refused to acknowledge. When I contacted them about it, they told me I could buy bushings to prevent this happening - so why do they sell bushings if they dont think its a problem? Very disappointed.

We purchased a very high end Kitchenaid refrigerator. Due to a design flaw (admitted by company as settlement decided upon) we incurred property damage. Due to the Global pandemic parts are hard to come by. Completely understandable. Not the companys fault. Once parts became available the issues with the service department started. We would have to wait online for literally hours at a time in order to speak with someone having to explain our story again and again. No direct number to call. And every time feeling like we were the bad guy. Feeling like we were trying to cheat the system. No one was willing to help us. They would just push us from department to department, manager to manager (never actually speaking with a manager). No one ever making a decision.Ultimately, problem being we live in a small community with limited access to service providers. We live over three hours from a large center. And we’re left on our own to find our own service provider. After we found a service provider Whirlpool would not approve the service provider because it was only one service man. They would only approve a company that had two or more service providers because the refrigerator was too big for one person. When we offered to hire a third-party they refused so we had zero opportunities to have our new refrigerator fixed. After hours and hours on hold and fighting just to get a refrigerator fixed they finally agreed to fix it for the amount that they had originally agreed to and then change their mind but would not send any kind of documentation stating this. So now we have to pay out of pocket hoping that when we submit the paid invoice that they will reimburse us. When asked what the turnaround time for repayment was I was told minimum four weeks. Moral of the story if you live in a small community away from a big service area you will not get your refrigerator fixed without having to pay some out-of-pocket expense. In our experience nothing last forever so if you think you’re going to phone and get warranty you’re wrong so maybe think twice.

With it under warranty the repairman states, I have seen this on all of these and they know it is happening and continue to put the faulty valves on these dishwashers. Then within a year the bottom rack wheels came off and did this on 2 occasions. Then all the front panel light went out about 6 months later. 6 months ago the top rack fell off (wheels & welds broke and were rusty) onto the bottom rack full of dishes with several glasses. Last night I started up the machine with no water intake and nothing occurred except the smell of wires burning. I will be purchasing a new dishwasher and it will not be a KitchenAid nor Whirlpool! I am an electrician and repair appliances, Ive kept all the appliances in my house going for many years by diagnosing and repairing them myself. I recently bought a condo which has KitchenAid appliances; a French-door refrigerator, a dishwasher, and an over-the-stove microwave. Although I am writing about the microwave as garbage, so is the refrigerator. The microwave is model YKHMS1850SS2. I knowingly bought the condo with this microwave, which is damaged, the door handle had broken off and the grill cover at the top has broken mounting tabs, thinking I could fix the damage at a reasonable cost which is not possible because Whirlpool, which owns KitchenAid, is replacement part price gouging. The parts are made of very cheap easily breakable plastic which probably cost Whirlpool very little to manufacture and look to be designed to break. If I could, I would take the door apart and replace the handle but the handle is not available as a separate part, only the whole door which costs half as much as a new KitchenAid microwave is available so I currently use a cheap suction auto body dent puller stuck to the glass door until I get a metal towel bar which I am going to cut down to the right size and mount it with the microwave handle screws that are currently protruding from the holes in the door cover which will last the lifetime of the microwaves electronics. The grill cover also costs quite a bit, the plastic mounting insert that fits in the stainless steel cover is not available separately so the two-part assembly also costs a lot of $$$ and is very wasteful because the stainless steel cover part, which is not damaged, will be redundant and dumped in the landfill. Instead of doing that, I am going to judiciously drill some holes in the plastic insert and use black tie-wraps to fasten it to the microwave. Kludged together but cheap and quick.Theres a big difference in the quality of appliances made in the 1970s and 1980s and now, the quality has very significantly declined and the price has significantly increased. In my house, I had a Maytag dishwasher, purchased in 1981, model WU300, which washed dishes very well and I kept it going by repairing it myself until about two months ago. It would still be running except the part needed is extremely hard to find. I replaced it with a Bosch dishwasher, probably made in the same US factory as Maytag/Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Ironically, just after it was installed and the old dishwasher was taken away I managed to find the repair part for it at an online used appliance parts supply for a very reasonable price. There really were the good old days for appliances.

Horrible manufacturing!!! KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDE20IXSS8. Motor only mounted with a very SMALL PLASTIC grommet. Further, from the motor is a rubber hose/gasket that is clamped with a one-time-use flimsy ring. This attaches to the plastic drain pipe. When the grommet failed (vibration, etc), the flimsy plastic ring could not hold the weight of the motor separating the motor with the rubber hose FROM the drain pipe. SEE where Im going here, yes, catastrophic failure. Yup, water gushed out all over my kitchen floor. Under flooring, cabinets, under refrigerator. Water/moisture mitigation was encouraged by insurance company before repairs. Repairman also mentioned he has repaired this same problem 5 times. Shame on KitchenAid (made by Whirlpool), this should be recalled and at a minimum manufacturing resign is a must!

I am real happy with the performance. Its quiet... cleans great so far. The bad news is that a thousand dollar dishwasher should not have such a poorly designed upper basket. The wheels just broke and several expensive pieces of glassware fell out and broke. Ask me if I am angry...LOL. After reading the many complaints on the design and quality of the parts used and that most have experienced the same problem I urge everyone to call Whirlpool corp. at Corporate Office Headquarters HQ: Address: 2000 N. M-63, Benton Harbor, Michigan 49022-2692 USA, Corporate Phone Number: 1-269-923-5000, and ask for the Office of the President and complain. The cost of repair with service is over a 150.00 but if youre handy you can fix it better than new for under $2.00.

The refrigerator is on the expensive side but has a beautiful style. I also love the two extra drawers for drinks and produce. Ice maker components are metal not plastic like other refrigerators so it is much better for crushing ice and less likely to break. Plus ice maker is on the door so it doesnt take up space on the shelf of refrigerator. However, fingerprints are a problem and theres not enough storage space on the doors.

We bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from a wholesale dealer in Mississauga, Ontario less than a year ago with a 3-year extended warranty. Seven weeks ago, the fuse burnt and had we not stopped the machine, there could well have been a fire hazard. The repairs was called via the wholesale dealer who directs you to KitchenAid head office who eventually send a repairman who tells us that the parts have to be ordered and will be in touch. Weeks drag into months and it 7 months now. The handler for the company incidentally is in the USA and we live and bought the equipment in Canada. Multiple calls followed and we are offered a 3-year extended warranty to placate our annoyance. It seems 94 people ahead of us are waiting for their parts. Threats to reach the decision makers are blocked. We are given 48 hours notice which turns to 3 days. We are thinking of connecting with the Toronto newspapers and the Better Business Bureau. Where else can we complain where it will be noticed by other consumers and heed taken?
