We purchased a KitchenAid range/oven, model # KGRS505XSS approximately 3 years ago. This is a gas unit, running on propane. Since we dont have supplied gas, in conjunction with the purchase, we had installed a propane tank, and supply line. Total cost, just over $3,000. Since purchase, we have had service for breakdowns 3 times, and I am currently taking time off from work for the fourth breakdown. The machine is out of warranty. My wife is meticulous with her equipment, and we purchased this based on other KitchenAid appliances purchased (albeit many years ago). UNEQUIVOCALLY, THIS IS THE WORST APPLIANCE PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE! We have repeatedly contacted the manufacturer to address the issues. The local appliance dealer, KLECKNER APPLIANCES, has REFUSED to help other than sending a paid tech. to address each breakdown. They refer us to the manufacturer. In my latest contact with them, they offered a PAID WARRANTY, TO THE TUNE OF $350. All aspects of this experience have been horrible. We host a number of family functions, and my wife is petrified that this appliance will break down Thanksgiving morning! From the appliance dealer to the customer service people at KitchenAid, not one individual has agreed that the breakdowns (complete, loss of use of one or more burner, now oven non working) that this should not happen, nor has anyone offered to address the situation, other than to send the tech. for what will probably not be less than $200. NOT CONSIDERING MY COST OF TIME...I STRONGLY URGE THOSE CONSIDERING THIS, OR EVEN OTHER KITCHENAID MODELS, TO LOOK ELSEWHERE. Had I known any of this would have occurred, I would simply have bought the Wolf or Jenn Air we considered. Absolute junk!!

Background: Purchased $6500 of appliances in November of 2010. Refrigerator, Oven/Cooktop combo, Dishwasher, and cabinet mounted Microwave. The only one weve not had issues with is the Microwave. Lets work in the order they are listed: 1> Refrigerator, YEAR 2 >> Freezer door would not properly close. 2 service calls later issue fixed. YEAR 5 >> Out of Warranty. Defroster drain line plugged with ice leaving the interior of the freezer coated in ice and the automatic defroster in operable. Went online, researched the issue and cleared the blockage after two hours of work. Year 6 >> Louder than usual noise when compressor running. Called my Appliance Technician, of thirty Years. Diagnosis issue as one or more bad springs in the compressor, allowing compressor rotor to contact the compressor housing. Contacted KitchenAid, explained the issue. Set up an appointment for the AM, two days later. Next day received phone call from the assigned Appliance Repair service saying they had an appointment scheduled for the PM next day. I explained I was told the appointment was for AM. They said no. They made it for the PM. Okay, right hand doesnt know what the left hands doing. Was also informed there would be a $109.00 service fee for coming out to diagnose the problem. Told them what my Technician had diagnosed. Said they would have to look at it. I asked how much the repair would be if it was compressor. They told me it would be a flat fee and wouldnt be able to quote me an estimate until THEY diagnosed the problem. I asked if the service call fee would be applied to the cost of the labor. They said no, it would be in addition to the labor. Called KitchenAid again. Asked if the parts could be sent to my Appliance Repair Technician? They said no, they could only be sent to a certified Appliance repair shop. KitchenAids definition of a certified shop is one that has a contract with them. Anyway. No other options, called Payless Appliance back and kept the appointment. Technician arrives, listens for the noise, He said the compressor was running and the only noise he could hear was coming from flap/door that allowed Freezer air into the Refrigerator to keep the Refrigerator at the correct temperature. I told him that the noise he was hearing was not the same rattling I would hear when the compressor was running. He said the compressor was running and that was the only noise coming from the unit. During the diagnosis process the Technician opens the Freezer drawer and says its not adjusted properly, and thats most likely whats causing the ice build up in the freezer. He adjusted the drawer. $109.00 later, Freezer drawer is more difficult to open and close and the noise is still there. I inquired if there would be another service call fee when the noise returned. He said, yes, there probably would be since the only thing he could hear was that door/flap noise.Dishwasher: Year 4 > Out Of Warranty. Control Panel starts flashing codes. Called my usual Appliance Tech. He diagnosed the issue as a defective heating coil. Ordered the part and called me when it arrived and was able install it the same. When I ask for a bill, He quoted me the cost and told me to use the Dishwasher for few days to make sure that took care of the issue.Oven: Year 1 >> Under Warranty. Cooking dinner, and the oven starting flashing an over heat error message. Attempted to the oven off, but no controls worked. Checked the trouble shooting section of the owners manual and still nothing worked. Not sure if the oven was still on, I shut off the power at the circuit breaker, waited an hour and turned the power back on. Unknown what the issue was but it has not happened again. Bottom line: $6500.00 worth of Appliances and only one of four has been without issues. Will never purchase another KitchenAid, Whirlpool or any other Appliance made by that group.

I have a kitchenaid (owned by whirlpool) refrigerator. It is a built in unit that cost almost 8k when purchased six years ago. A small electric board went out on the unit. In contacting whirlpool I was told that the board was not made any more and the only way to resolve my issue was to receive a prorated amount against the purchase of a new Whirlpool refrigerator. I was sent to a review board who got back to me within a couple weeks to relate to me I could purchase a new unit from them (I will never purchase another Whirlpool product ever again) and can get a 1,500 credit toward a new unit. So if you buy anything from these people dont expect it to last. Not only does it break but it is irreparable. Not to mention it is a racket. Think about it, they sell you an over-priced unit that to their own admission only last 6 years and then they hook you to keep buying from them. Crooks!!!

I too experienced the dishwasher top rack roller failure. The top rack rollers are secured by (2) cheap very thin plastic spreader clips. These clips are approximately 3/16 wide by 1/16 thick. If just one of these cheap clips breaks - the roller wheel will separate causing the rack to collapse along with progressive failure of the adjoining roller wheel clips. This deliberate design and manufacturing defect by KitchenAid is an obvious attempt at planned obsolesce. This once celebrated company is no longer interested in producing durable quality products. Avoid the purchase of all KitchenAid dishwashers!

My brand new dishwasher leaked from the moment we got it. Kitchenaid took a long time to send not one, but two repair men out to check it out and we were told by BOTH that we should have the dishwasher replaced since the tub was damaged in addition to a marked front panel. Then it took them weeks to finally say they are replacing the parts and then they come to refurbish it and the tub they bring is damaged. I now have to wait an additional 12 business days to have them come back. This will make a total of 3 months without a dishwasher and I have a toddler. They are the worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never ever buy a product from them and I will never recommend them to anyone.

We bought all new appliances 4 years ago. The salesman at the appliance store said KitchenAid was the best. Well apparently he must get a kickback from them because nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the KF1S29BBMS00 french door refrigerator actually sucks! Shortly after we had it the freezer stopped freezing. At least this was covered by a recall. Now, the unit is 4 years old, the ice maker stops working. We called the repair place and they came out and very cavalierly said, Oh yeah there is a service bulletin on this. You need an add on kit to stop the unit from freezing up.OK to my thinking service bulletin is an admission of wrongdoing. Poor design in the first place. So since the unit is out of warranty and we chose not to pay for a ripoff extended warranty we have to pay over $430 to fix what was not designed right in the first place! How can this be our fault? Why would we need a warranty to cover a design flaw? Now while waiting for the repair person to come back with the part that they had to order the drawer in the freezer will not freeze. The lower main compartment is fine but the door will not freeze. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID APPLIANCE. Their poor design and engineering becomes your problem.

We bought a KitchenAid gas range in 2010. When I used the self cleaning mode my display went black and my oven was locked. We called manufacture while it was still under their warranty. They sent a repairman out and he replaced the circuit board. Now 2015 we have a reoccurring problem. Used self cleaning again. Oven locked. We bought an extended service plus warranty on Jan 9th 2015. Today on Jan 27th we are told that they will gladly refund us our money on the service plan even though it was stated in their warranty if its an electrical issue or mechanical they will replace it if it cant be fixed. Well they have stated its gonna cost more in parts for a 5 yr old stove. Well if they would of fixed the problem back in 2010 would I still be having this problem today in 2015. Seems to me there is a issue in the manufacturing of this range.

We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model KFIS29PBMS) with a 5 year extended warranty. We started having trouble with the unit after 1 year, in that the freezer compartment was making a lot of noise. About a year later, it started again. the problem was the freezer was not keeping ice cream hard. They diagnosed the problem to be the automatic defrost cycle not working properly. Ice would build up around the fan causing the loud noise. This time, the service technician replaced the control panel and another panel in the rear of the unit. The noise subsided, but two problems continue to exist. The unit periodically beeps (every five to ten minutes) and the refrigerator freezer compartment continues to not freeze ice cream.I called for extended service and was told they would NOT come out to fix the problem because it was already repaired. After an hour with their extended service rep, they agreed to find another service company but said I may have to pay for the repair. I have had KitchenAid products in all three of my homes in the past. The quality of their products has changed - unfortunately for the worse. When they refuse to stand by their extended service contract, then its time to find another company. After reading several reviews on this refrigerator, I found that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Do yourself a favor, when you look at a KitchenAid product in a store, just walk on by. Save yourself a lot of aggravation!!!

KitchenAid refrigerator model #KRFF507ESS01 defrost problems - Since purchasing the refrigerator I have had to have it defrosted four times. Every three to four months the fridge gets warm and the coils, fan and other components in the fridge get completely covered in a block of ice. Two service calls were made while the fridge was under warranty. The technician that came replaced a thermostat, but also said that he didn’t feel it would fix the problem and that it would happen again. In fact, it has happened twice since. KitchenAid refuses to do anything about this. My background is in engineering and product development and I must say that the design of this fridge is suspect. The use of a very low quality fan, no defrosting heater and some very cheap packing Styrofoam as part of the air routing system is very suspect in my opinion. It does not appear to be properly engineered. We are also experiencing some cosmetic degradation at the front of the water / ice serving area. We called on this also and KitchenAid sent us a replacement piece, which has already started to degrade since it was replaced. We purchased this refrigerator along with a gas stove top, convection microwave, oven, dishwasher and trash compactor. This was almost $11,000 in products from KitchenAid. We are very unhappy with the refrigerator since it will likely require regular defrosting for the rest of its life. The fridge is out of warranty, but this problem happened while in warranty and is in your records. We would very much a response from KitchenAid that include either fixing the problem once and for all or a replacement of the refrigerator with one that has the problem solved. It is not acceptable to sell a product like this.

My KitchenAid KBRS36FMX02 refrigerator frequently was losing temperature and started making a high pitch humming noise. I called an approved KitchenAid service company to come take a look and it was determined it was the control panel. I was told by the technician that he would try a panel on his truck that supposedly would only work in my refrigerator 50% of the time. He uninstalled mine and replaced it with another that did not work. My old one was reinstalled and now is totally nonfunctional. I found this hard to believe that KitchenAid would have parts that would work only 50% of the time. I then learned that with the tsunami of 2011 the factory that made the control board in my fridge was wiped out, so no more control boards. So 5 years later, there still is no replacement? Shame on you KitchenAid.I was told that since my refrigerator is out of warranty that they have no solution but for me to buy a new refrigerator. The replacement cost of my built-in unit is approximately $7500.00. KitchenAid would offer not even a discount. So since they could not provide a $250.00 part for their product I have to buy a new fridge?? Very very poor! I would never buy a KitchenAid product ever again!!!

Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power
Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power plant meltdown complicated it. Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) are telling hundreds of consumers they cannot provide a critical component -- main control board -- necessary to repair a frequent problem with their refrigerators. In my case we have a 42 built in, side-by-side, panel ready unit KSSO 42QMB02 purchased in 2007. The panel ready descriptor simply means we had it fitted with the same wood paneling we used for our cupboards. The board is failing and its causing the unit to freeze up with loud fan noises accompanied by disturbing clunks and thuds. Its a matter of minutes or hours or days before it fails entirely. This is a problem reported by others on this site. Worth mentioning is that this is a top of the line refrigerator/freezer that cost between $5,000 - $6,000 not including the paneling. So heres the terribly sad story KitchenAid is telling customers: They no longer stock the part because the sole source for it, a company in Japan was wiped out by a tsunami and to make matter worse, the meltdown of the Fukishima reactor complicated matters. They told me to have their authorized service provider (B&B - good folks) to just send the board in to be rebuilt. That my refrigerator/freezer would be down for the length of time it took for the board to be repaired. That they offer no service contracts. That if I wanted they would sell me a new unit at a small discount - $6,233 for a new unit. I should add that because this is a panel ready model with our custom panel wood on it, it would be darn tough to match the old stock so there would be at least several hundred dollars more in panel expense as the old panels no longer fit the new model. And this get this, when I called another provider in my hometown - a fellow Ive known for years, he told me that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool has just today (this was on October 5, 2014) posted a service bulletin that they were disassociating from the company, Cocentric, that has been rebuilding the Main Control Boards for hundreds of customers owing to service issues. So the bottom-line is that this expensive and beautiful side by side, built-in, panel ready refrigerator is a boat anchor? Then I found this blog from a very cool, smart and handy fellow, Steve **. In it he describes how pretty easily (if youre handy with a soldering iron and a volt meter that is) you can rebuild the Main Control Board for about $6. He suggest buying a beefier version of one component, a relay, to prevent this from happening ... suggesting a design flaw in this board to me. And he wisely suggests adding an Appliance Surge Protector to prevent spikes from burning the board in the future. This is all beautifully detailed with pictures and part numbers. So heres my take - Whirlpool/Kitchenaid want to sell you a new refrigerator freezer when they could easily set up a process to fix these boards themselves and support their products. It gets worse. If you want to buy a refurbished board you can! For $800 - $1,200 on eBay! WTF! KitchenAids service policies are fostering predatory online vendors. Why will people pay this much for a board that KitchenAid lists for about $235? Because ALL OF US CANT BE WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR FREEZER FOR 2-3 weeks. This is insane and immoral. California has tough consumer laws. The Song Beverly Act may cover this as in addition to providing relief for people that buy lemons, it also provides for people like us (in California any way) that expect a top shelf product should last longer than a pair of my boxer briefs.

KitchenAid will not stand behind their product but is willing to give a discount on a 9000 dollar refrigerator. Please don’t ever buy a Kitchen aid or any other Whirlpool product. The quality is not there anymore. They should be ashamed of themselves and soon if this keeps up their doors will close. Spread the word about KitchenAid.

In September 2013, we remodeled our kitchen. I looked forward to having 30 double electric wall ovens, but over the years have been VERY disappointed! Preparing last evenings dinner really made me want to write & share my frustrations! The ovens take an inordinately long time to come up to temperature. Once it might be reached, it does NOT remain! The fan is noisy and sometimes seems to vibrate. Cookies become very browned in the back right corner. Last evening I started using the top oven to bake a pork tenderloin. Gave it a long time to pre-heat & it never really reached 325 degrees. I reset it for 350 which again, it did not attain. I finally tried the lower oven, using the convection Rapid heat to bring it up to temperature more quickly. Once it neared 350 degrees, I turned off the convection & used the regular bake. I had to rotate the pan several times to keep it from browning in the back. I have wasted too much mental time being frustrated with these! We did have a repairman visit, he adjusted the temperature & could offer no comments/suggestions re the fan, etc. Am looking for new ovens, but needed to vent.

I, like all the others had the same issue with the water leak. Purchased the extended warranty (thank God), had the service company out, they removed the rubber stopper and we were done, SO I THOUGHT. Have had 2 other repair companies out due to the rising temp, frost, food freezing in the refrigeration area, and the compressor running for periods of up to 4 hours continuously. Was told there was a part that should have been put in when the Rubber Stopper was removed. O.K., replaced that part, problem fixed... NO, and told that it is normal for the Compressor to run up to 80% of the day! Have called Lowes yet again due to the compressor running all day, and an electric bill that has jumped from an average of 125.00 to over 200.00 due to this refrigerator. Keep being told by Lowes that they will submit to their Review Board for replacement, but doubt that anything will come of that. I should have listened to my sister, and stayed away from KitchenAid appliances, when she told me 10 years ago that they were junk. With Black Friday coming, ADVICE, run away from this brand as fast as you can!

Salesman at my local appliance store said KitchenAid refrigerators are among the best. Great, paid $4000.00 for a model KRFF507ESS01. Beautiful fridge but, in just over a month it got really warm and we lost most of the food. Their warranty does not cover food spoilage. Service man comes, its the motherboard, of course. Its faulty and they know it. Not too impressed, you would think that in 2016 they could build a fridge that works.Updated om 10/14/2016: Fridge was good for the next two months and it died again. Another service call and the repair man said they do not have a fix at the moment. After a big fight the appliance store gave me another fridge. Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! I called KitchenAid to complain and they basically said, Sorry, would you like us to set up a service call for you?” I was on the phone for almost an hour with a supervisor. It will do no good! I will not be fixing this stove again. It originally cost $2199.00 in 2005 and I will be not put in another computer board again. I have all KitchenAid appliances in my kitchen and I can tell you this: I will never bring another KitchenAid product into this house again. KitchenAid does not stand behind their name. I purchased what I thought to be my last refrigerator in 2007, a KitchenAid KSSC48QMS03. I built my house and was able to maintain and solve any issues that arose and they were minor. 12.23.2014 my refrigerator stopped cooling. We trashed at least 500.00 worth of food and have been living out of an ice chest and an under counter refrigerator. I hired an independent repairman 12.26.2014. My cooling system was leaking but the control board was fine and the 12-year warranty was in effect. He referred me to Kitchen Aid factory service 12.29.2014 for 95.00. They told me it would be 1,200.00 out of my pocket to fix the WARRANTY coolant leak but they would not stand behind the repair. He also offered the tsunami tale. I went home and watched the evaporator fan run at full speed so my control board and refrigerator do not have the problems he outlined. I am now waiting for a call from Whirlpool to entice me to spend more on another of their wonderful products. This is criminal.

You would think that you spend more money on a trusted brand that it would last for more than 5 years. Its only been used a couple times per week for my wife and me. Called three repair service companies who all told me that the issue is most likely a faulty circuit board which cost about half the price of a complete new dishwasher. Please be assured that I will never buy another appliance from KitchenAid in my lifetime. Hopefully my experience proves beneficial to you!

My name is ** and Customer Service in America is dying a slow and agonizing
My name is ** and Customer Service in America is dying a slow and agonizing death! Im writing this in the hope that it will help others. Our fridge, KitchenAid model number KSSO42QMB01, was built and purchased in 2004. This is the unit that allows custom cabinetry front panels to be installed so that it matches kitchen cabinets. Around the two year mark, the motherboard, or control board, failed. I bought the needed part and had it installed. Summer, July 14th 2014, I came home after a three day trip and find that the entire fridge is down, inside control panel lights are blinking erratically, fridge is nice and warm. Called an approved product service company and they diagnose the problem as a component on the control board has failed again. They ship it to Core Centric in Chicago to have it rebuilt, which is the online suggestion KitchenAid provides all service companies. They dont have the parts necessary for rebuild so service company sends it to Fix Your Board in Texas and the same conclusion is made, that they dont have access to the needed part. We cross reference the KitchenAid control board #2307028 to a part that Sears Direct Parts says is guaranteed to work. This is Sears control board part #W10219463. I personally purchase the part online, receive confirmation of purchase and confirm delivery date of August 4th. August 8th, I email Sears Parts Direct and ask about status of my part. Sears emails back, sorry but we cancelled that order, as youre not an approved service company, but we did credit your credit card the full amount. Wonderful! Shame on you Sears! I email back, what if I have my service people purchase the part? They say fine. In the meantime I am in contact with KitchenAid in an effort to decipher if there is another avenue to get the part or if they have a resource to repair the existing board. In this version, they state that the factory burned down about two years after my fridge was manufactured, and all schematics and design plans were destroyed so figuring out which component is needed to repair was impossible. (So your telling me you cant figure out which component needs replacement by looking at the board and your telling me the components are no longer available anywhere in this country or on earth?) They suggest Core Centric! I explain that the part was shipped to them and the Texas company with no chance of repair. I propose the Sears Parts Direct control board might be a possibility. KitchenAid says they will consult with their engineer to confirm whether or not this part works. They contact me inside the 72 hours they said it would take to respond and say, go ahead and try it. In the meantime Sears emails back that their part will not work, so that stream dries up.I am now emailing Warners Stellian, the appliance company that sold me the fridge in the first place, to see if they know what to do to fix the control board. Response from them is send it to Core Centric in Chicago. This statement was delivered by an apparently, young person that couldnt deliver a full sentence without inserting a half dozen UMMs in it. Everybody has to start somewhere, but I curse my fortune at getting all the newbies! Sorry, I digress.I inform KitchenAid and the person there says she will pass that on to their people and see if there is another road to go down. I receive a call a couple days later and KitchenAid says after review, weve decided to send you a new fridge in replacement and in five days time you will receive a call from KitchenAid to identify which model fridge you need to replace the old unit!!! I am shocked and stunned! I am, by nature, not a rage filled consumer that screams abuse at anyone that doesnt treat me justly. I dealt with customer complaints for 30 years, from people that had far greater issues than a busted fridge, so I do not get worked up about warranty issues. I think to myself, the system still works and I guess I had the good fortune of doing business with a stand up company that realizes the value of backing up the product they sell! I thank them for the help and wait for their call.I get the call today, August 15th, from KitchenAid folks. I assumed that there would be a cost incurred for a new fridge, so I wasnt shocked that they said it would be a pro-rated warranty. KitchenAid says to get the model that fits the spot we need to fill, its going to cost me $3,550.00 and of course, theres no guarantee the custom cabinet faces will fit the new fridge. I noticed that they didnt offer another ice and water dispenser, but I am sure they will after I call them back. Im now at the One Month Without a Fridge mark and not loving it! Got an older, more reliable fridge in the garage, so its a bit of a hassle but not life threatening! This is a real first-world problem, so it could be worse. Notice that its now a month lost! My wife is tolerant, but losing her patience.I notice online that several products are manufactured by the same corporation so Im not certain if I should ditch this company and go to another equally frustrating company or stay the course with KitchenAid. I will be happy to keep you posted on the outcome. Hope your experience isnt nearly as exasperating!

Apparently when you buy KitchenAid top of the line range (KDRU783VSS), it does not have the auto shut off baking function. It just basically alerts you when the time is up like the timer. Does turn on when delay time is used, but you have to manually shut it off. What a crock. Im glad Whirlpool bought them out. Maybe they will terminate KitchenAid. They used to be good. Nothing but crap now. Im sure to leave a review. Also bought the french door fridge and it would throw ice around your glass and end up on the floor. We got a replacement and it did the same thing. We finally had to upgrade so it would stop doing that. Now I cant get the water filter to reset on the new one. We bought the whole kitchen including microwave and dishwasher. So far the last two are doing fine. Stay away from kitchen-headache!! Buy something else. Anything else.

I just got off the phone and as usual got nowhere with KitchenAid people including the manager. I too have had nothing but headaches with this piece of junk. As someone said, the top rack just collapsed downward on one side. We replaced the rack, and another part already; the junky plastic on the rack keeps breaking. The door for the soap doesnt open and it has been a better dish rack than dishwasher. I have washed dishes by hand more often than I was able to use this product. I am so disappointed that they, as a big company, couldnt send someone out for free for a change and try to back their name. They brag as you wait on the phone (which is forever), about how wonderful their service is. Well, the last visit cost over $100 to have a man run my dishwasher empty and tell me to use less soap and not packets. Now a manager told me to see if it works in the other types of washes. I asked how that would solve my problem. What am I supposed to do, switch from my one hour and compromise? I told him management is not his calling and he should consider another job. Never again will I buy KitchenAid which is a shame because my first one was great!

I have had this Electric range KSEG950E for about 2 years and have had major problems with its self-cleaning technology. For starters, it simply doesnt work, even after repeated cycles. Cleaning out the water after the cycle is finished is tiresome. And the side and back panels never come clean. Its nearly impossible to scrub out these areas, as you can only use nonabrasive pads, and the oven is so deep, you cant reach in far enough to clean effectively. Even soil on the reachable areas is a challenge to clean, using only the recommended non-scratch scrubbing sponges and fresh kitchen appliance cleaner (the addition of which is recommended for hard to remove soil).Im not a heavy oven user and have tried to clean oven at the slightest sign of soil build-up. Once more, being 5 7, Id think that reaching around inside the oven to scrub should be easy. But after the lengthy clean-up sessions, I hardly need to go to the gym for exercise! Surfing the net, I see that Im not the only very dissatisfied customer! It may be good publicity to have low-energy cleaning technology. But if it doesnt work well, it cant earn high marks for the company.

What is the use!?! I am so frustrated. I was dismissed by their customer service, and just told sorry. Well, that is certainly not good enough. This is a rip-off. If you are ok with spending over $800 every four years, good for you, but I am not. I called repair people in my area and they said the minimum cost to repair is 400. They said that model was not good to begin with, but I researched and researched, and I trusted the name. But they dont stand behind their product to even have parts in their warranty. I have to buy a new dishwasher, and I looked here for recommendations. I hope this helps someone avoid a KitchenAid mistake.

I loved my two year old KitchenAid Dishwashers until it started falling apart. Literally, we found disintegrated plastic pieces and ball bearings in the dishwasher. The plastic and ball bearings are part of the rolling racks. Seriously? The dishwasher is only two years old and it is disintegrating before our eyes. I couldnt believe it. I called the service provider and they told me I cant use it for 60 days and that they wont cover the repair since it happened prior. Do not buy KitchenAid which is Whirlpool in disguise. After using the self-cleaning mode three times, the lock would no longer disengage. My oven (KEMC378) was still under warranty at the time so the locking device was replaced. Again after using the cleaning mode a few times, the problem reoccurred with the new lock. After about a week of not using my oven or microwave, the lock disengaged on its own. Needless to say, I no longer use the self-cleaning mode. Recently on 10/27/2012, the locking device, on its own, became engaged and will not release. I can no longer cook or microwave - its completely useless. I called KitchenAid on 10/29/2012 to see if my model was part of the recall. Customer service said no and transferred my call to the service dept. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to pick up my call but they never did.

In June, 2009, I did a complete kitchen remodel and installed all-KitchenAid appliances, including a side-by-side refrigerator model KSCS25MVMS which cost almost $2,500. I purchased a five-year extended warranty on all the appliances which, unfortunately, has now expired. I recently noticed water damage to the base of the cabinet surrounding the refrigerator and to the hardwood floor. I had an appliance repairman out and he determined that the water leak was the result of a crack in the evaporator drip pan under the refrigerator. He said he would order a replacement pan. A couple of days later he called to inform me that this part was no longer available. He said he could attempt to repair it, with no guaranty that the repair would be successful, or I could buy a new refrigerator. I think it is outrageous that a $2,500 6-year old refrigerator (which is otherwise working fine) is now rendered unusable because of the failure of a cheap plastic part that KitchenAid has discontinued. It sounds like KitchenAid is discontinuing parts availability in order to force people to buy new products. Well, all I can say is, if I end up having to buy a new refrigerator, it will most definitely NOT be a KitchenAid!!!

We did a gut rehab kitchen remodel in 2012. Consumer Reports magazine point
We did a gut rehab kitchen remodel in 2012. Consumer Reports magazine pointed us to the best refrigerator and other appliances (virtually all KitchenAid). Everything (layout, space, ice maker and filtered water) was great with the refrigerator for 3 years. In late August, 2015 we started seeing water dripping from the freezer door onto the floor. Fortunately not hardwood flooring, but wooden cabinet enclosure got a bit wet and is damaged. Bottom line - after a couple of hopeful attempts assuming it might be the ice maker or the high humidity, the problem persisted and we called the dealer for repair. I asked the tech if hes seen this problem and he honestly answered Yes, a lot. He explained that the part to fix it would be free of charge, and that I would need to pay $164 for the service call. To the dealers credit, I was told on the phone that the minimum for a service call is $164. With this fresh info from the tech whos working on the refrigerator real time, things recalibrate.... If a manufacturer has a lot of the same problem happening, the product should be recalled and owners notified. From there, repairs should be gratis. While the tech was still at the house, I googled the problem and see many youtube videos and write ups about this problem which is a small black rubber check valve that gunks up and then backs up water into the freezer. The floor of the freezer becomes a mini skating rink, and when theres no room left for water down there, it leaks out the front of the freezer. I called the dealer while the tech was still at the house and plead my case. They did call back and agreed to pick up half of the service call. They tried KitchenAid and were unsuccessful. A couple days later, I called KitchenAids large appliance customer service and they stuck to their guns. The rep gave me the usual apology said theres nothing he could do. I asked for his supervisor. I waited a few minutes and finally spoke to a woman who listened, said sorry, and then when I asked for her manager, she refused to pass me up the line saying that she was as far as I was going to take this. $82 isnt the issue. Customer service or lack thereof, and a corporate decision to let the consumers be guinea pigs to figure this wet mess out for themselves is what frosts me. I wonder how long before I have a wet floor beneath the freezer again. Consumer Reports or not, Im done with KitchenAid, its products, and its affiliated companies.

In September of 2016 we purchased a very expensive KitchenAid fridge, almost $3,000. It was supposed to be the top of the line. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty, because as I write this I am waiting for the repairman to come out for the FOURTH time. This will be the third time that ice has built up along the inside of the back wall, and to fix it requires the unit to be shut off, drawers and shelves removed, and the ice to melt away so he can open up the back and do his thing. The ice build up impacts the fan, creating a loud noise, and inhibits the ability of the unit to make ice. The other service call was for a malfunctioning deli tray control. I waited many years to finally get my KitchenAid appliances. I purchased them at Sears and I even bought the Premium service agreement. For unknown reasons, my refrigerator doors began to rust (I have pictures and would be happy to send them). There is no apparent leak or reason for this rust. When I contacted my service agreement, of course, they told me doors arent covered. I was told the only thing I can do is buy new doors. I would gladly do that if the damage was the result of neglect on my part. The refrigerator was purchased 11-02-99. I realize it is 13 years old but my last refrigerator was 25 years old when I gave it away (still running perfect and no damage - Kenmore). Since I have not received satisfaction about repairs, I have decided to keep my refrigerator as is. I make it a point to show it to everyone that comes to my home and telling them about how KitchenAid stands behind their product lines. Rest assured I will never purchase another KitchenAid anything. As much as it is embarrassing to have this in my kitchen, I feel spreading the word is more important.

I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

Extremely disappointed that our Kitchenaid microwave magnetron has failed after only 2.5 years and requires $325 to repair (65% of the purchase price new). We have never put metal in the unit, which, after researching, appears to be the only possible operator cause of failure, meaning a part that is reportedly supposed to last 22 years is clearly defective from the factory. Service staff on the phone have been quite kind and sympathetic, but unable to help. They encouraged me to email the company directly, which I have done with the above verbiage, requesting explanation of their policy to not cover this under warranty, especially after seeing so many other people complain of the same issue. The company has not responded. The service tech who diagnosed says hes seeing this more and more, as the appliances are being built less and less robustly.

Email to Trail Appliance: I meant to email you earlier but weve been away. All appliances are in and look great. Were just wondering though if a support might be missing from the fridge. Ive attached a couple of pictures to show what I mean. The shelf above the two crisper drawers seems to be missing a middle support? Because as soon as you put any items on it, it really sags in the middle. You can see the glass shelf separating from its white plastic rim and then gap between two crisper drawers getting wider at the bottom. Are we missing a piece or is there anyway to fix this? It seems such an obvious flaw. Trails response: I have checked both units on the floor and neither have a little support... so sorry... It does seem odd that it does not though. My last email to Trail: So what are our options? I must say every time I open the fridge door - what I see (that sagging shelf) is unacceptable. I thought we were upgrading our 17 year old appliances - but it appears not, and Im sure that anyone else who has bought this fridge would be experiencing the same issue. So just wondering what my options are? Does KtichenAid stand behind the supposed quality (or lack thereof) of their products or are we on our own? And what about Trail Appliances? Where do they stand on selling crap (pardon the harsh language) like this? Suggestions? Waiting on response to this last email - but would NOT recommend buying this fridge for this reason.

My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel failure twice now. The first time it’s just the oven that would not light and one of the panels (there are evidently 3) was faulty and was replaced under warranty. The second time the electronic control panel short-circuited and turned on the convection fan, which got red hot. Sparks and smoke were coming from under the burners, which is where the panels are located. I was not using the stove at all, but thankfully I was home! I was able to throw the circuit breaker in the basement. When the stove stopped glowing red, I pulled it out from the wall and unplugged it. The repairman that first came is no longer available. I have not been able to find anyone that has a card for both electric and gas. Customer service expressed regret that they could not help me find a repairman, but said to let them know should I find one. What? I will not repair this stove. Refrigerator model KRSC700HPS just over 1 year old. Has been icing up inside the freezer and refrigerator causing air blockage so temp of refrigeration at 60 degrees. Told by repair service that they first need to replace thermostat and fan units. Then if ice repeats have to replace the control unit. All parts on backorder so have to do without the refrigerator for who knows how long. Repairman said even a replaced control unit may not fix the problem. Over $2,300 loss. Just learned that there is a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool regarding this problem with defective Control Units causing ice build-up in many of their different branded refrigerators.

My 7 months fridge is broken since end of January, high temperature in fridge and freezer area. Service man come on Feb3, run diagnostic test and left. He said it may need some parts. Called him next day that is not working. I was told no parts in stock, 3 weeks later serviceman show up with no parts and starts to look for leaks, found couple, fridge still is not working. Your warranty doesnt tell you when they will replace fridge. I was told 21 days then whenever serviceman will say it is beyond repair. This brand name doesnt stand for quality or consumer satisfaction. Still waiting for parts and no guarantee when it will be fixed or replaced.

We bought all KitchenAid appliances for our new home just under 10 years ago. The dishwasher lasted just 2 years before it needed replacing! Now the refrigerator leaks water everywhere! We found a sheet of ice under the freezer drawers…no drain plug or anything! It appears the ice was melting all over the kitchen floor! It will cost more to have someone come out to fix it than it would to just buy another appliance!! We’re buying a new LG refrigerator that Consumer Reports gives rave reviews! Staying away from KitchenAid forever!

We bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher Model KUDL03IVWH0 in December 2008. It has leaked since the first time we ran it. We were both commuting long distances to work, trying to get moved in after putting our stuff in storage to have all the floors redone, have otherwise busy lives, and agreed my husband would fix it or call to get it fixed. To make a long story short, we put a cup under and forgot about it until after the warranty ran out. The extended warranty is $309.95 for a year, which did not seem worth it since it was a manufacturers defect - we did not want to give them any more money. We are looking online for a way to fix it ourselves, but in any case well never buy a KitchenAid dishwasher again!

We purchased a KUDE40FXWH dishwasher in March of 2011. The top rack glides kept popping open letting the rack fall off. This probably was linked to binding due to breakage of the plastic pins that connect the glide wheels on the glide bracket. Three months out of warranty, the wheels on one side fall into the bottom of the dishwasher. Both sides have now been replaced for $250. The service technician said this is not isolated and they encounter this on these models. We called Whirlpool/KitchenAid and they politely noted the problems. But once they had the information, they made it very clear that they are unwilling to supply anything at their cost to correct our problem with their equipment. They are glad to have the info for engineering future equipment but are calculatingly unmoved about the predicaments of people who have bought their products to date. We paid for a higher end dishwasher to get reliability and service. KitchenAid is not worth the premium. I could just as well have bought a bargain brand and the repairs wouldnt have been any more than the glitzy one.

We have had this range for 6 years. If you check the service calls, 3 have been for the oven not reaching maximum temperature. Each service call is close to or more than $200.00. The temperature works for a while and then returns to 259 degrees. Never been fixed properly. Now we have an error F2E1, service call $125.00. The repairman said we have an error F2E1 and we would have to order a new keyboard. Really $125.00 to tell us what we already knew. Now, to make matters worse he said this part, estimated cost $500.00, may not correct the problem and further work/parts would be needed and he wouldnt know until he tried the new part. The most frustrating part is he said the keyboard part could not be returned if further work was necessary thus increasing the price and that couldnt be determined until he started the work! So, we have decided to buy a new gas range and a new fridge and obviously neither one will be a KitchenAid.

Today I phoned for my 4th service call for this 2 year old KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS30FXSS. It simply doesnt clean the dishes, leaving a food residue on mainly the top rack of dishes. Each time, the serviceman has cleaned out the chopper and pump (beware: there is no removable filter for this model) and it cleans for a few weeks, then we start washing by hand until I can find a time to stay home for another service person to come out to do the same thing. Even though I purchased the 4 year extended warranty, KitchenAid has denied this 4th claim. I have been a loyal KitchenAid customer, and will be replacing this dishwasher with different brand. What a waste of money and resources.

We purchased this oven (KitchenAid Superba convection oven) some year ago. Approximately two years later, we began to experience problems controlling the temperature. We had the oven serviced by an authorized repair company. The problem ultimately revealed itself to be the control panel. The oven was repaired. Sometime later, the same issue appeared. The oven was serviced and repaired. Months later, same issue. After a lengthy fight with KitchenAid, we replaced the oven paying a pro-rated price. Some months later; the same issue, more repairs. Same problem: the control board. Despite having an extended warranty in place, KitchenAid did not honor the warranty. The problems lie with the control panel which obviously suffers from a design flaw. Whatever reputation they may have enjoyed, we would never buy anything made by them under this or any other label, nor would we recommend their products. However, we receive regular correspondence regarding purchasing an extended warranty on the very product whose warranty they won’t honor.

Wife & I are close to retirement so we bought a top line KitchenAid Dishwasher for about $1,100 thinking we not only had a warranty but would have good performance and few if any repairs. Less than 2 years into the purchase we have now been without a dishwasher for over 4 weeks. The certified repair agency has been here 4x now and the dishwasher now has new: User Interface panel, CPU Control unit, dirty water sensor, motor, pump, tub, wiring harness.KitchenAid will not replace the unit with a new one (so much easier and so much better customer service). They would rather go through all of this replacement and inconvenience. This is similar to buying a rusted, dilapidated car from a junk yard. Made in Mexico I think. Very poor customer service. Very poor product. Not worth a $50 much less $1,100. Never again. Please tell your friends. I will be telling my friends as often as I can. The repair men are here today & if its not fixed, the BBB, the president of the company & the FTC will hear about it.

Owned this dishwasher (KDTO104SS) for 8 months. It replaced a Bosch. Gradual decline in performance for last month. Did the hard restart, worked for one cycle. Requested warranty service, waited one week for repairman, he ordered new part, waited another week for him to return. He then said another part had to be ordered, refused to overnight as he is only paid once for warranty service and only came once a week to this city. Then he indicated that the control unit was shorted as insects had gotten inside. We have professional pest control and have never seen those insects. They were, in fact, inside the controller. This must be a design flaw, as there isnt a place in the country where some insects do not reside. We have previously dishwasher for more than a decade with no problem. The manufacturer indicated there is no recourse. We bought this as it was made in this country and had good performance. The seller is working with us to get another appliance, but we will NEVER buy a KitchenAid again.

We purchased a KitchenAid side by side fridge from Sears ten months ago. I have since had it serviced for four times and Im now going on my fifth. This time around, I will have replaced nearly every part in the fridge. My complaint is not only with regards to the condition of the product and Sears failure to take responsibility for it (not to mention all the food Ive had to throw out), but the fact the Sears service department makes it extremely difficult to get them to come out in a timely matter.Last time we checked our fridge, it was 60 degrees. According to Sears, it would be a minimum of one week before they could come out and repair the fridge, even though our last repair guy had the part needed to fix the fridge shipped directly to our home. The part is currently sitting on our kitchen counter. I guess my question is, is there a lemon law that protects my family from Sears and the obviously faulty item that they sold us? If so, I would like this fridge replaced. Im very much considering contacting an attorney. What are your thoughts?

Having purchased an entire kitchen of KitchenAid products, almost every one
Having purchased an entire kitchen of KitchenAid products, almost every one has broken - more than once. While the company repaired the dishwasher handle the first time it broke, they refused to fix the dishwasher door, which flops open dangerously. I paid over $100 to have it fixed. Now that the microwave, which comes on spontaneously, must be fixed, theyve agreed to that, but not the handle that broke off or the faux-stainlesss/plastic vent cover that ironically fell on the floor days after the call. Turns out they now admit that the dishwasher door is a chronic problem and theyll cover it, but in astonishingly rude tones, refused to fully fix or replace the microwave, even though I have paid for defects they now acknowledge. Instead, theyve invited me to buy a new vent cover at my own expense, investing additional money in their plainly substandard appliances. Or, I can buy a new KA microwave = at 15% off?! (To be clear, I would sooner set $649 on fire and use the flame to cook). Customer service is, at the corporate level, woefully rude and disinterested in customer satisfaction, seemingly having deaf and numb to their growing number of angry consumers. Amazingly, I visited a friend in L.A. who has the same appliances. And the same problems.

The springs on both the dishwasher and the microwave broke leaving the doors to open precariously. Purchased this unit in 2010 with an extended warranty. The unit died in 2012 and was able to get it replaced because of the extended warranty. However an extended warranty was not offered to me on the replacement. The replacement was installed in November 2012 and failed to heat anything in 2015, approximately 2 1/2 years old. I called KitchenAid and spoke with their representative in Tennessee, I explained that this was the second microwave that failed in a two year timeframe. The lady was not very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a warranty or I could pay to have a technician come out and look at it. She advised me complaints on defective manufacturing are based on Service Technician calls since they did not have any for this Model then there is nothing wrong with it. I asked her why would 2 of the same units fail during the same time frame and KitchenAid would not recognize that something is wrong with the unit. I told her I could buy a microwave for less than $100.00 and it would last longer than this model. She told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Apparently I am to blame because I did not get an extended warranty from them for $329.00. At this point she stopped listening to my questions and proceeded in a very loud voice which can be heard clearly from 3 feet away that KitchenAid stands behind their product and there is nothing wrong with that Model microwave because there have not been any complaints. I told her to search the internet. If KitchenAid sold quality products and stand behind their products why would there be a need for an extended warranty. Very, very poor customer service. Therefore if you buy a KitchenAid appliance buy a very long extended warranty because their items are not cheap and the warranty is not cheap also.

I always bought KitchenAid for my appliances. I considered myself a good customer but right now Im completely dissatisfied and angry because on what is happening with my Range Oven/Microwave (Model KEMC308KSS01 - Serial XR5013510). I bought it on Nov. 2004. I had the Service Saver Agreement until 2005. On Jan 2005, the microwave glass door exploded for the first time. We replaced the glass with their service rep, Allstate Factory Service, for $400. On Nov 2005, the same glass exploded again, another $400 to replace it. We replaced the glass with their rep from Appliance Expert Appliance Repair. For the Third time on March 05 2012, the glass exploded again. The microwave glass door always exploded when was not in operation. We already spent $800 replacing the microwave glass door for a microwave that should work fine at the first place. We never experienced such a bad performance by any KitchenAid products before. I have to assume that the Range Oven/Microwave that I bought has a defect from manufacture, faulty and represent a safety hazard. Maybe they should have issue a recall of this model. But to tell you the truth, we feel scared about this product. We know it will cause an explosion or a fire or glass will start flying in the air, etc. We expecting to obtain a replacement since the unit never work properly and represent a safety hazard.

Worst dishwasher ever! Never worked right from day one. Dishes from every load still had food spots in them. The top basket is flimsy and the rollers continually broke. The computer went bad after 3 years. Bought the rip off extended warranty that gave me more excuses than repairs but was sold as a complete coverage warranty. Called the company and they agreed to cover the parts but I had to pay for the repairs. They sent out Bragdon Appliance in Cedar Rapids, a slip shot company that never fixed it or delivered all the parts, but charged me anyway.I bought a Kitchen Aid because my mother had one for years. I purchased this stove because it had a very large oven and I bake. Two weeks after installation I realized when I leaned up to get something from the cabinet above the stove I turned on burners, sometimes just enough for a gas leak and sometimes enough to burn my arm. First problem with design. A month later at Thanksgiving the turkey was in the oven and my grandson touched a knob with his arm and actually burned it. Thats how hot the knob. I see were due to a vent directly below them. Second design flaw.Later that afternoon. We realized the turkey wasnt getting done. Oven turned off by itself. Luckily I have a second oven. Very nice competent repairman (outsourced) checked the temperature of the knobs and they came in two degrees under government top number. He replaced an oven valve. This valve was replaced three times before the oven would function without failing. I took these safety and oven problems up with KitchenAid only to be told they were within government standards and be glad I bought a warrant for the oven. Cold, disrespectful and dismissive people. Admittedly all covered by the contract but the inconvenience involved is important. I just called for a service repair which will be in 8 days. Thinking Id go all out and buy my last and final refrigerator, I bought the fancy and expensive, and newest KitchenAid. Within four years I have spent over $600 on repairs (nothing covered by warranty). The first week of the Pandemic it again stopped working. I have thrown away over the last four years, THREE complete freezer contents with this refrigerator. The ice maker is positioned above the mother board, and drains onto it, and the repairman who finally came from the Factory said it was a major design flaw. This FIFTH repair was to cost nearly $1600 - and he said he didnt know if that would be all that was wrong. I have called and written my dealer and the parent company. I thankfully have an old KitchenAid in the back hallway, so have an inconvenient, but cold, refrigerator. Youd think when after only 4 years of wear by two people, and repairs requiring half the cost of the refrigerator, that KitchenAid would be more responsive to a long-time customer. Our $9,000 KitchenAid built-in fridge is 10 years old and required $1,500 in repairs for a faulty control board. The original control board is discontinued (my guess is because they found that it was faulty) and it will now cost even more for the repairman to rebuild the current board. I am not sure why this appliance costs so much when there is no noticeable difference between this fridge and our last homes fridge (except for the fact that it is built in) and clearly you are not paying for quality. For this price I expect better quality control and longer lasting products. When we replace this fridge I will definitely buy another brand. Apparently the fridge has had lots of previous maintenance as well. The company told us that they have been out to our house with the previous owners multiple times. Its shocking to me that a $8,0000-$9,000 appliance could require so much maintenance in the first ten years of its life. KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? I am very disappointed and frustrated with KitchenAid customer service. We purchased a $2,300 KitchenAid refrigerator on 6/21/13 and after 10 months of use, it started leaking and making really loud noises. Our freezer does not work. Our ice dispenser does not work. The water tastes bad. Water leaking on the floor has warped our wood floors and we have had to discard meat, ice cream and other frozen food. When we contacted KitchenAid about our defective refrigerator, we were told to make an appointment with Dan Marc.Dan Marc came out for the first time in May, 2014. I took off from work and waited for the repair technician. When he inspected the refrigerator, he said that it was the ice maker compartment. He advised that the ice maker wasnt sealing and warm air was getting in, but that KitchenAid had fixed the sealing issue. He advised that he would order the replacement parts and that it would take care of the problem.A week later, Dan Marc finally rescheduled for 6/9/14. My husband took the day off from work and at 7:30 a.m., Dan Marc cancelled the appointment. I contacted KitchenAid to advise of the customer care offered by Dan Marc, as we were unhappy with them cancelling on the morning of the appointment and the fact that I have an unusable refrigerator. I was advised by KitchenAid that we would have to wait on Dan Marc.On 6/10/14, a different repair technician came to the house and installed 3 replacement parts. He installed 2 replacement parts on the ice maker and 1 on the deli drawer. I took the day off from work and the repair technician took about 2 hours. He again said that the problem was fixed and that the replacement parts would take care of everything. He advised that there was a problem with the original parts, as they did not seal properly. Because it did not seal, warm air got into the ice maker, causing the leakage and host of issues. He advised that KitchenAid was aware of the problem and had taken care of the problem in the replacement parts. On 6/10/14 and 6/11/14, the refrigerator continued to leak water all over, and the freezer and ice dispenser continued to not work. I again contacted KitchenAid and was told that Dan Marc would have to come back out again to my house. As frustrated as I was, I again contacted Dan Marc and made an appointment for the next day. On 6/12/14, Dan Marc sent a specialist to my house. I again had to take off from work and waited for the technician. The technician told me that it is the compressor. He advised that he would have to flush out the system and install a new compressor and evaporator. He said that the job would take a minimum of 4 to 5 hours. He also advised that there would be no guarantee that it would work properly with a new compressor and evaporator, as oil and gases were sucked in. He also said that these refrigerators should last about 10 years and not 10 months. On 6/19/14, a specialist from Dan Marc came to my house and replaced the compressor and evaporator. I had to take the day off from work and he was there for 5 hours. So, the problems continue - Water leaks everywhere in the fridge. Water leaks from ice dispenser. Freezer does not freeze properly. We again contacted KitchenAid and now they are sending Morris County Appliance to my house. On 7/8/14, Morris County Appliance came to my house. They said that there is a seal system issue and that compressor overheats. They do not believe fridge can be fixed. On 7/10/14, KitchenAid is forcing us to allow Morris County Appliance to replace more parts. We are clearly frustrated and need a solution from KitchenAid. We do not want a defective refrigerator, as we clearly paid for a brand new, $2,300 refrigerator. We now have a refrigerator with replacement parts and cannot continue to add replacement parts to a clearly defective refrigerator. KitchenAid was clearly aware that the seals on the ice maker compartment were bad, as the replacement parts were modified and have different seals. Knowing that there was an issue with their product, KitchenAid sold me a defective refrigerator and is not willing to stand behind its product. The refrigerator has clearly failed to meet expectations and it is unacceptable for me to have to keep a defective product. The refrigerator has repeatedly failed to meet the standards of quality and performance. I have not been able to use my freezer, have any ice made or drink any water for almost a month and KitchenAid wants to add another Band Aid, by adding more replacement parts. It is unacceptable for me to keep taking off from work and to wait at home for countless hours, when the refrigerator was clearly defective when I purchased it. In addition, the water leaking from the refrigerator has warped our wood floors and Ive had to discard bags of food. I am clearly stuck with a lemon and KitchenAid refuses to replace their refrigerator.

Ive had more issues with this dishwasher due to its design flaws than any other appliance Ive owned.Design Fault #1: Attach for wheels for the upper rack are weak and regularly break with normal use. Ive had this happen 3 times so far and no amount of gentle use or babying will keep these from breaking over time. The design flaw is the thinness of the plastic used to hold these on. If you dont want to replace these, you can sacrifice some ease of mobility and use a wire twisty tie to reattach the wheel to the rack. It makes it harder to pull in or out, but at least its attached.Design Fault #2: Upon my wife complaining that it wasnt cleaning well, I found that the chopper had broken off from the shaft. No idea why, Ive seen others say that it is a design flaw and that over time it hits the housing enough to break the plastic. I cant say why it broke as I saw nothing in the housing that would have caused it to break off.Customer Service Issue: My wife called them and they told her only the rack itself is covered by the warranty and not the attached components. I called them and asked them if a hypothetical customer were to buy the dishwasher and it came without the upper dish rack, whether they would simply send the rack bare without any of the supporting components. She sheepishly told me they would and I told her that was ridiculous and I needed to talk to a supervisor. Upon returning after a hold she told me shed send me the parts under a one-time goodwill gesture from the company. So I had them send me 3x of the wheels and 1x of the chopper for the parts that had broken to-date. Ill hold these in reserve for when these items break again. Its simply ridiculous that they dont either fix the design flaw or cover the part as part of the warranty. I think they have to be aware of the design flaw otherwise they wouldnt explicitly refuse to cover it when you call.

For such an expensive dishwasher, it does not clean dishes well. Also, the unit is less than 5 years old and the door balance parts break? They are made of nylon cord and plastic, attached to a metal door and metal spring. Why in the world would you use such flimsy materials for such a heavy door? I nearly injured myself when the door came crashing down, just missing my foot (the repair parts were in shipment). And after reading all the complaints here I am not impressed.

The first fridge was returned after a day when it never cooled. The replacement lasted 7 months and is currently at 65 degrees. Since it is still under warranty I must go through KitchenAid. Over the past week I have been placed on hold for 7 hours. The one time I did speak with someone about an exchange they were rude and misleading regarding the problems with this product, come to find out. When I had such a difficult time with corporate I went back to the dealer. After going through their channels, I was told that corporate tried to email me (not true) and wanted me to call them back! Can you believe that!

Regarding Model: KUDC10FXSS7. Despite our pre-rinsing all dishes well, using the Heavy Duty cycle, and never having any trouble with the other 3 brands of dishwashers we have had, the KitchenAid dishwasher just does not clean the dishes. The unit is less than two years old and has never worked well. Additionally, the cycle time for the dishwasher is at least twice as long as the other brands we have used in the past. My wife and I are very disappointed that we have wasted our money on a product that does not work.

2 years and one month after purchase, my $6800.00 Kitchen Aid refrigerator had to be fixed. Price: $600.00. What a lemon! I am telling my friends and anyone who will listen what lousy refrigerators they make now. This company has really tanked in their quality.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator in August 2010 for $1,500. From the beginning, it was freezing items on my top back shelf and shooting ice cubes all over my freezer. At this time, I am facing a $350 bill to fix the problem that has escalated to freezing everything in my refrigerator. I have called KitchenAid many times on this to be told I should have bought the extended warranty on my $1,500, 2 1/2 year product from a company that I trusted. In addition to this, I have been getting rust on the door for years now. I am very disappointed and will never recommend KitchenAid!

We purchased the KA model KFIS29BBMS02 in December 2013. We noticed it was rather noisy but we were told that refrigerators make some noise. We have already had technicians out 4 times. They have replaced the evaporator fan motor on July 25 for a flapping noise. That noise is still present. We have a high pitched whirring noise that happens a few times each day. We have found out the mostly constant humming noise is the compressor, as it is always running. We have been told at todays appointment that the compressor needs to be replaced since it is apparently leaking Freon and will hopefully keep working until the repairman can get the part - which is on back order because so many have needed to be replaced!!!! We have also had to replace the touch pad control panel as it popped out of the front of the fridge! After 9 months, we are still unsatisfied with the refrigerator and the KitchenAid brand. So disappointed.
