If your dishes have a white film on them - that isnt the dishwasher. That means you have hard water, complain to your water company. To get the film off your dishes, put three cups of white vinegar in the bottom of your dishwasher and put your dishwasher soap in as usual on run your cycle. The best brand out there to help get rid of hard water spots on the glassware is Finish Brand Quantum tablets.

I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had such a low standard. This is the third time that I am having problem with my dishwasher. Last year, I spent $120.00 on the door hinge and now problem with the dishwasher not working at all. I called KitchenAid and was informed I will either need to spend another $300 to fix the unit, or purchase a one-year warranty and pay $275.00. Unfortunately, I also have a KitchenAid refrigerator that so far I had to spend over $600 in the last 3 years for repairs.Do I need to keep on wasting $500.00 every 6 months with further service calls and parts? Why would KitchenAid make disposable appliances? They will need to disclose to consumer at the time of the purchase that appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid are disposable, and every year we need to replace them with a brand new unit. KitchenAid is responsible for taking care of my dishwasher. I can no longer invest more money on the defected appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS30IXBL2 - This dishwasher was purchased in May of 2011 by the previous owners of the home we purchased in March 2013. I started having problems in December 2014 with the dishwasher running about 10 minutes then stopping. Called Lowes who had sold the dishwasher. The previous owners had purchased a 4 year extended warranty, but Lowes wouldnt honor this because we werent the ones who bought the dishwasher. Just another rip off of getting out of honoring the warranty. Repairman came out and ran all the diagnostic codes. Came back and replaced the console. This didnt fix the problem. Called again. Still running intermittently. Sometimes completed cycle and sometimes not. He came and replaced the sensor. Meanwhile the rollers and glide holding the top rack started to break. As I see on this site, that seems to be a common problem. Called back to get repairman to come again and mentioned the rack problem and was told the company had a call back on the rack parts. So repairman came and replaced all the broken parts for the rack, ran codes again and said it might be the control. He got into the control and took off and reattached every wire and found no problems but said it might be the control. I ran the dishwasher again, and it quit after about an hour. Restarted it with no detergent in it, and it still didnt complete the cycle. Called back today and was told they could order the control, at a cost of $189. To date, I have spent $378.81 with another $200 part ordered and still have a dishwasher that doesnt work. The original dishwasher cost $773.19 so I will soon have an all redone dishwasher that may still not work. This is absolutely unforgivable. I have had about 3 dishwashers in 2 other houses in 40 years and NEVER had any of these kinds of problems. I was always led to believe Kitchen Aid was a top of the line dishwasher. This one is NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD and has almost cost its original purchase price! I want to see something done about this by the company. And I will NEVER, repeat NEVER purchase another Kitchen Aid product.

Bought the Kitchen Aid French Door Counter Depth (Model KBFS20EVMS9) from Lowes in Feb. 2012, and the 4 year extended warranty. It just started leaking on the floor, had the drain tube replaced. Leaking stopped but freezer is STILL forming ice inside. And I have no water feature or ice cube maker so I dont understand what the deal is. Maybe just a shoddy product? Another service call is scheduled. I get a feeling this isnt the last of it. I may end up hiring two strong guys to haul it down to Benton Harbor Michigan and dump on their front doorstep.

Our KHMS155L KitchenAid microwave would just turn on by itself. Luckily, the two times it happened (twice in two days), we were home. I cant even imagine what kind of damage could have been done with it, on and unattended for a long period of time. My husband called the KitchenAid Customer Service number in our manual. He was told that he would have to pay for the part and labor (over $200). I then read through this website and called the Whirlpool safety line at 1-800-331-7456. No problem. They mailed me a new panel and set up a local service repair. No charge to me for parts or labor. Thank you, Whirlpool!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in 2007 and have repaired this machine on an average, twice a year, and I’m disgusted with KitchenAid (not worthy of capitals). This is a $1,000.00 latch-less machine. I replaced the latch, strikes, and door cords, several times for all. Junk is the best description for this product. KitchenAid has a problem. They have never revised any of the replacement parts. I hope this helps some people look at other brands, I know I will!

About 4 years ago, I bought a top of the line Kitchen Aid dishwasher. I paid nearly $1,000 for it. I figured if I bought the best, that I wouldnt need to replace it for many years, since my aunt had 20 year old Kitchen Aid appliances, and they still worked like new. Everything was fine for a few months, then I noticed that its not as quiet as it was. Then if I didnt thoroughly rinse my dishes off, to the point of pre-washing them, there would be stuck food that was nearly impossible to remove. After doing the thorough pre-rinsing things, were fine for a while. The noise got louder. It got to the point that we would only run it a night, because of the noise. We looked into our warranty, and it had just expired, and knew that we couldnt do much about it. About a week ago, the noise was so bad that we honestly thought it would explode. We didnt touch it for a few days, for fear of explosion. Last night, we thought to run it through with a light cycle. We could hear the water filling, but after that, we couldnt hear anything. It sounded like it wanted to work, but it was stuck. We turned it off, and now its a glorified dish rack. Im replacing all my Kitchen Aid appliances with LG, because I know it wont fall apart.

I have had my KitchenAid slide in range for 3 years, model KGRS807SSS00. Ive had the panel burn out twice while cleaning the oven. Repairman said that this happens quite often due to the fact that the oven heats up so high that it burns out the panel. Email to Trail Appliance: I meant to email you earlier but weve been away. All appliances are in and look great. Were just wondering though if a support might be missing from the fridge. Ive attached a couple of pictures to show what I mean. The shelf above the two crisper drawers seems to be missing a middle support? Because as soon as you put any items on it, it really sags in the middle. You can see the glass shelf separating from its white plastic rim and then gap between two crisper drawers getting wider at the bottom. Are we missing a piece or is there anyway to fix this? It seems such an obvious flaw. Trails response: I have checked both units on the floor and neither have a little support... so sorry... It does seem odd that it does not though. My last email to Trail: So what are our options? I must say every time I open the fridge door - what I see (that sagging shelf) is unacceptable. I thought we were upgrading our 17 year old appliances - but it appears not, and Im sure that anyone else who has bought this fridge would be experiencing the same issue. So just wondering what my options are? Does KtichenAid stand behind the supposed quality (or lack thereof) of their products or are we on our own? And what about Trail Appliances? Where do they stand on selling crap (pardon the harsh language) like this? Suggestions? Waiting on response to this last email - but would NOT recommend buying this fridge for this reason.

Three years ago I upgraded my entire kitchen with stainless KitchenAid appliances, after much research - with a hefty price tag. I liked that the products were made in the USA and that they were considered high-end appliances. I even replaced a Bosch dishwasher (it did not live up to its reputation). The oven cost $1500 and change at the time of purchase, and the model is now over $1900. Two and a half years later my oven started having problems - it turns off during cooking and will not come back on. I had repair people out several times but they could not fix it. Turns out it needs a whole new keyboard, which is over $800 just for the part. I tried to contact KitchenAid customer service - yes, this was out of the 1 year warranty but I felt that it should not be having such problems after only 2.5-3 years (the oven that I replaced was 15 years old and was in perfect working order - and was a much lower-end appliance).Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. My dishwasher has also had several pieces fall off that have had to be replaced. You would think this company would help their customers but no, they ignored my letter. All I wanted was to purchase a new oven at a discount - which they would normally allow but they will not let me do so because I have a home warranty plan (which I had not used to help in any way other than to diagnose the issue). Shame on KitchenAid for such horrible customer service, and for selling overpriced appliances that do not last and definitely are NOT worth the high prices. I would definitely advise NOT purchasing KitchenAid.Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased
Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased new KitchenAid Proline KUDE40SPX3 to match our Wolf/Sub-Zero equipment. After several months, we noticed our cabinetry adjacent to the dishwasher was starting to warp and peel paint. We initially believed that the cabinetry was defective. Then one evening, our little 3-year-old screamed in horror from the kitchen. She had a burn on her face and said the dishwasher did it. We then noticed the steam coming from the side vent of the unit. The louvers are positioned so that the steam under pressure is directed downward. However, since the vent is adjacent to the kitchen cabinetry, the steam not only hits the cabinetry but is directed in front of the dishwasher. Most dishwashers have the vent at the top of front door lip, which directs the steam up and away from the front of the dishwasher. I notified KitchenAid Customer Service. Their first response was that the unit was 1 month out of warranty and they referred me back to Pacific Sales where I purchased an extended warranty. Pacific Sales extended warranty department stated that the defect was a manufacturer defect and not an electrical or mechanical defect and directed me back to KitchenAid. KitchenAid then agreed to send a service rep out and would cover any parts and/or labor to repair the defect, including any venting kit. They also said that the manual has a disclosure about the side venting; however, I pointed out there is no such disclosure and no special instructions with regards to steam being emitted out the side/front and being a potential hazard to children and surrounding cabinetry. KitchenAids factory repair rep came and observed the defect and notated such back to KitchenAid. Then, KitcheAaid took the position that it was not responsible since it was no longer within the 12-month warranty period.

One week after purchasing a new KitchenAid fridge, it began spitting ice all over the floor randomly. We had to put it in vacation mode every time we left the house otherwise we risked wrecking out expensive hardwood floor. After about a month, the part arrived (they replaced the main CPU) it was repaired. That lasted about 4 months then it began randomly puking ice on to the floor again. They sent out another CPU and the front screen and said that would fix it. In the meantime, the ice dispenser stopped working as well as the main freezer compartment. We lost all of the meat in our freezer (roughly $1000 worth). Our fridge has been down for almost 2 months now and now they tell us the fridge has to be gutted. It has a system seal leak which cannot be fixed on site. Our fridge will be sent out for repair and we will be without a fridge for 4-6 weeks. They offered $100 for us to purchase a small fridge to get us by! What a crock. This fridge has been problematic from day one and now after all of the repairs they still cant explain why the fridge continues to discharge ice randomly or how/if it can be fixed! DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID fridge!

I purchased the KitchenAid refrigerator KFIS29PBMS00 2 years ago. My refrigerator has not been keeping things frozen since before Thanksgiving of 2015... It’s now the end of January 2016. It is also leaking water from the water dispenser. I think it is a shame you spend a good amount of money on a new appliance and within 2 years you have 4 problems with it. It has iced up. There was a problem with the door. The ice maker / water dispenser problem... but this freezer problem is the worst. (Thank goodness I have an old refrigerator, you know one that was produced when quality with appliances was great!)But what has become the even worst problem is the warranty company, Consumer Priority Service. You call in your problem. They call someone in your area... they come out to check the problem... leave, order parts and then come back. The first time I called to get someone out they told me they could get someone out in 3 weeks... 3 weeks!!! Come on... 3 weeks! So I bypassed the warranty company the 1st time the freezer had a problem. When they came out they noticed the water leak and said to call the warranty company on it. I did. It was 12/2/2015... They came out 1/21/2016 with the WRONG part. Now Im waiting again. In the meantime, the freezer is broken again. The warranty company notified a repair company... I hadnt heard a response from them so I called them. They said they could not fix my problem and they contacted the warranty company again. Needless to say, this is very frustrating. My beautiful, KitchenAid refrigerator has been no working since before Thanksgiving of last year! I will never buy another KitchenAid product again or warranty service from Consumer Priority Service.

We purchased our dishwasher (as part of a full set as a matter of fact) 2 years ago. It’s quiet, but has stopped washing dishes. We only use the soap and dry aid recommended by the manufacturer, and the dishwasher itself is cleaner regularly. The soap dispenser opens, but unless the bottom rack is left half empty, Ten soap doesn’t come out of the dispenser, or comes out but doesn’t dissolve. This started about six months ago, as an occasional problem, but by now it happens more often than not. Based on this, as well as my experiences with the rest of my appliances, I would not recommend this brand.

KDRS483VSS - DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID RANGES!! They dont know how to repair them and their policy is not to replace them but to repair them. I am talking about an $8000 dual fuel range that I have waited years to purchase only to find out that once it was delivered the only thing working properly was the gas top. This is a very classy looking expensive piece of JUNK metal. The hinges on the large oven dont pull the door closed enough to turn off the oven light and you have to press the door in to turn light off. I now have no working ovens at all and this was through the Thanksgiving Holidays. No one cared!!! The oven shows several error codes and now just does nothing. Our story is similar to everyone else. Our first fridge broke three days after it was installed & had to be replaced. A month ago, something else broke. We finally got parts after three weeks for a broken filter system which caused our fridge to fill the shelves & drawers with water. After two weeks of waiting, the authorized service company flat out lied about not ordering parts after I had contacted corporate to have them expedited. (If you buy the warranty, do not expect any type of respect or sense of urgency. The warranty company does not care & does not hold authorized agents accountable.) As I write this, my oven is being repaired for the fourth time, for the same problem. Since it is out of warranty, I will be paying for this. When you try to self-clean, it goes for an hour or two, then stops, giving an error code because the plastic, yes plastic, around the latch has melted, and the oven thinks the door is open. The repairman this time told me to never again try to self clean the oven. It will just keep happening! This oven is about 6 years old, but this has been happening since it was just over a year old. Also, even when it did clean in the beginning, the glass door does not actually get clean, particularly the space left between the two panes of glass, again yes, a space left open. I would suggest the designer of this oven be punished by having to use it. Clearly these should have been recalled or replaced by KitchenAid, as they are aware of the problem. But no such luck, at least not that I am aware of.

Extremely dissatisfied with the KitchenAid product, warranty and customer service. I contacted them Feb. 5th 2015 to inquire as to the procedure to resolve an issue with the door of my microwave not opening. After a considerable time of answering questions, I was told that my unit was no longer covered under warranty. I then expressed the following info to the KitchenAid representative and offered copies of documentation:1/31/2014: Ordered 1/31/2014: Deposit $5412.50 4/22/2014: $3252.91 final pay 5/15/2014: Appliances delivered 1/16/2015: Moved in 1/19/2015: Microwave installed by Vassar Electric 2/05/2015: Door would not openYour representative stated that it did not matter, KitchenAid’s warranty is based on date of purchase (1/31/2014), not date of deliver (May 15, 2014) or the date of installation (1/19/2015). We were told by C&D Appliance that we had a deadline to order or the price would go up. We explained to them that we would not need the appliances for several months as the house was under total remodel. They said no problem as they would store them until we were ready so all the appliances were ordered at the same time and stored at C&D Appliance warehouse. We get a call one day that they needed to deliver the appliances as they need more room in their warehouse so we stored them in our shop area. Little did we know at the time of purchase that the warranties started on the day we ordered them which was also the date of invoice. It cost me $660.33 to use the microwave for 21 days. I also have no warranty on the KitchenAid dishwasher, the Jenn-Air cook stove and the Jenn-Air refrigerator, all of which are product lines of the Whirlpool Corporation. Adding insult to injury, I filed a product review with KitchenAid that they REFUSED to post!

We bought all new appliances 4 years ago. The salesman at the appliance store said KitchenAid was the best. Well apparently he must get a kickback from them because nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the KF1S29BBMS00 french door refrigerator actually sucks! Shortly after we had it the freezer stopped freezing. At least this was covered by a recall. Now, the unit is 4 years old, the ice maker stops working. We called the repair place and they came out and very cavalierly said, Oh yeah there is a service bulletin on this. You need an add on kit to stop the unit from freezing up.OK to my thinking service bulletin is an admission of wrongdoing. Poor design in the first place. So since the unit is out of warranty and we chose not to pay for a ripoff extended warranty we have to pay over $430 to fix what was not designed right in the first place! How can this be our fault? Why would we need a warranty to cover a design flaw? Now while waiting for the repair person to come back with the part that they had to order the drawer in the freezer will not freeze. The lower main compartment is fine but the door will not freeze. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID APPLIANCE. Their poor design and engineering becomes your problem.

As 32 others here have described, my KHMS155LSS-4 KitchenAid microwave turns on in PAN mode randomly after only 1 year of use. I left the door open to prevent it from recurring, but it beeps insistently. I ended up unplugging it. I called KitchenAid and they said it’s a known issue and will dispatch a no cost repairman. Having read the list of complaints here, I think I will start shopping for its replacement anyway. It sounds like this was a very bad model for KitchenAid. We also had the dishwasher door spring break just like others had described.

When my microwave was serviced by Prather Services, in Lexington,KY, it was discovered by the technician, that there were cigarette ashes inside the top of the microwave. Also, there was a nut driver found inside the microwave (I have photos). The microwave was operating well, except the door needed new springs. Prather Services took my microwave back to their shop for several months, then returned it, and it did not work at all. They indicated that it worked great in the shop, but now it didnt. They then have tried to make me pay for it. I ask about the unsanitary health issue with ashes in my microwave, and they said they contacted Kitchen Aid. They indicated that Kitchen Aid was going to do nothing about it. I have been without a microwave for more than a year. The Model of the microwave is KBMC140HSS03,serial #XR1601613. I have emailed Kitchen Aid direct, and they have refused to contact me about this unhealthy issue. Prather Services technician was very alarmed that our family had been using this appliance for preparing food, for at least three years, with the cigarette ashes inside that came from the factory.

I have a KitchenAid refrigerator that has a problem with the main circuit board. KitchenAid no longer has a company that can replace that board (manufacturing plant was destroyed in a Tsunami) and it cannot be repaired, according to them. They were offering me a pro-rated exchange of $5800, based on the age of my current refrigerator. A new one is priced at about $8000. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After receiving the complaint from the BBB, a representative from Whirlpools Product Review Board called me to process the exchange. I told her that $5800 was an unreasonable amount for me to have to pay to get my refrigerator replaced, given the fact that the parts and labor to fix it in the first place, should have only cost around $300. She spoke with her manager, who I believe is Jake **, and the pro-rated amount changed to $2300. She said that was their best offer and that I had 30 days to decide. Its not a perfect outcome, as we are still out of pocket the $2300, but I do think that filing the complaint with the BBB is what made them try harder to settle this issue. I highly recommend getting the BBB involved if you are experiencing issues with Whirlpool because in my case, they did follow through, and I had a better outcome because of it.

Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator Model #KBFS22EWMS7 in November, 2012 along with a 4 yr extended warranty with a price of $1800. The first week in October 2013, there was a big pool of water on the floor near the refrigerator. Pulled out the fridge thinking a hose had been punctured or a connection was loose. But no, that was not the case. All connections on the back of the fridge were dry. Husband checked more thoroughly and could not find where the leak was coming from. Called the customer service number on the refrigerator user instructions and they set up an appointment with a service person. The service person came out on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, checked all connections and pulled off panels and checked the back and could not find where the water was leaking. He confirmed there is a leak by seeing all the water on the floor, which looks like had been leaking for a while after seeing the edge of the wall with water damage and mold. But he could not find it and could not tell where it was coming from. So he gave my husband a homework assignment to somehow keep a watch underneath the fridge to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. How about that for customer service!!!! Now after seeing all the similar complaints and issues with KitchenAid, I am so afraid that we are in store for a nightmare of our own!!!! Our current plan is to put some type of rubber mat on the floor underneath the fridge and somehow jack up the fridge a little to be able to see underneath to watch for the leak. This is very frustrating and wish now that I had gone with Maytag!!!!

The wheel assembly broke for the top rack of our KUDS30IXSS6. We called to order new parts, and we have been waiting 3 weeks--using our dishwasher without the top rack. I called today, and they said they couldnt ship because they hadnt received enough parts. They had orders for 21,000 parts, but didnt receive that many. Clearly, this is a serious issue and a defective product. So much money on this stainless steel dishwasher, down the drain. What can the consumer do??!

I have been disappointed in my refrigerator from day one. Temperature is inconsistent throughout: items freeze and also, just simple design features, like being able to open a vegetable bin when only one door was open, but now taking the cake is my ice and water on the door only functions intermittently and service guys said needs a new board. It’s a $250 part, ok. Frig is 10 years old, I’m ok with that. WELL THEY DONT MAKE PART any longer and there is no work around! KitchenAid customer service’s best response was to send me to a discount supplier of new refrigerators. I’m beyond frustrated. They blame it on supplier, but we all know if KA cared enough for their consumers, it would be provided. This was an expensive refrigerator and I don’t want a new one!

I purchased a model KDTE204DSS0 KitchenAid dishwasher on 12/1/14 for $717.48. It has a stainless steel tub. Fourteen months later (2/16) we had water leaking from multiple pinhole leaks in the stainless steel tub where the base of the tub is molded to fit the screen and pump. I called Whirlpool and they said that the tub has a lifetime warranty but it can only be installed by an approved appliance repair facility. That cost $150.00 (I removed, delivered and installed the dishwasher again myself). On 9/8/16 (seven months later) the dishwasher is leaking again and has again the same pinhole leaks in the new tub. I get a slight shock when I touch the screen inside the tub and believe there is a galvanic reaction going on that is eating up the stainless tub at its thinnest area.Since I find no other reviews mentioning this problem, and it appears to be more than just a tub problem but a unit problem (i.e. a lemon), I asked Whirlpool to replace the unit. As you already know, they said no but would replace it for $17.00 less than I paid for the last one less than two years ago. If I paid another $150.00 to replace the last tub that would be about $500.00 a year to wash a load of dishes every other day. This negative review is as much about the manufacturer as it is about the faulty dishwasher.

The issue I am currently having is trying to get a new control panel for our built in refrigerator. The day after Christmas the refrigerator went out. The following Monday I called a local appliance repair business so we could get the refrigerator fixed. They showed up the following day and informed us it was the main control panel that was out and this part was not available. They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

At this time, I am facing a $350 bill to fix the problem that has escalated to freezing everything in my refrigerator. I had an upscale kitchen remodel done and spent probably $75,000 on appliances. I purchased two KitchenAid fridges and microwaves and an under counter ice maker. To date the microwave has almost no power. I have a $35 microwave from Walmart that heats food three times as fast as my KitchenAid. I had service out in the first month because the microwave sounded like a jet engine. They replaced a fan in there and then I had it out again because it just wasn’t powerful enough and they said there was nothing they could do. The cost of the microwave was $2500. One of the fridges randomly will just make this worrying waze. Who knows why. I don’t even want to call service man for that. And the ice maker has given us problems from the first six months. And now the ice maker has died. I would periodically have to unplug it and leave it for a day and plug it in and it would work but now nothing. I think that thing cost $2700. We did not buy these appliances at Lowe’s but at an upscale appliance store where they guaranteed me that it is a better quality than if you purchased a KitchenAid on the floor of a big box store. I would never purchase a KitchenAid appliances again. I also have Wolf Appliance as a double wall oven and a large commercial stove. The double oven timer you can’t hear it and less you have your ear up against it. I had a service man out and he said there’s nothing you can do about that. The commercial stove one of the front electrical ignition switches doesn’t work that up and cost 50,000. It is insanity that these companies are in business. So poor quality and they don’t seem to care. I don’t even know if it’s worth it to have a service man come out and check my ice maker.

I had my oven in the medium setting to clean, but was not in the kitchen at the moment when we heard a very loud noise that sounded like an explosion. Immediately thereafter, shattered glass was falling out everywhere it could come out of. Very frightening moment. Called KichenAid in the morning and explained everything. They will send someone out tomorrow and assess the situation. We just moved into this place six weeks ago. The day we moved here, the freezer was leaking and formed a sheet of ice on the bottom drawer. Here I was offered to buy one year of warranty and paid $320.00 for it. All appliances are KiitchenAid and were installed in September 2011. They are like new. I, of course, have no warranty on these appliances and think this is absolutely crazy that after short time for such expensive appliances, these things happen. Our $600 KitchenAid microwave failed after less than 2 years. I spoke with customer service about repair, and was told that replacement parts are not made for this item as its a countertop appliance. Was not marketed as such - was sold to me as an installed piece with a matching trim kit. I was told that I would just need to purchase another microwave given that Im out of warranty. Very disappointing to discover that a seldom-used microwave that retails for that much money cannot be counted upon to last for 2 years. We purchased a brand new home in November of 2012 and ever since day one of operating our KitchenAid oven Model # KEBS109BSS00, we have had this awful metal on metal rattling noise. After contacting KitchenAid warranty repair department, they have sent Three different companies out over 18 visits to repair the issue. We have been informed that there are only two moving parts to the oven and both parts have been replaced TWICE. Also, we have had new extra insulation kits and exterior panels replaced, tightened, loosened, and so on and so on... to no avail. The oven still makes the awful noise through all three operating cycles. Kitchen Aid has been horrible with helping us repair this oven. They claim that some of the visits will not count because the tech that came out for the repair did not log a claim attached with the serial number of the unit. So we basically wasted half a day and and still have a broken oven. I will NEVER buy a kitchen aid oven again, cheap product and terrible customer service. Even the technicians they send out are saying that there is nothing more that can be done and they need to replace the unit but to be prepared that Kitchen Aid will fight us on that but 18 visits at $144 a pop they have already spent more than the oven is worth.

I had a similar experience with the interior. I ordered from a major online retailer (delivery was quick and professional). However, while I ordered installation, the delivery team informed me they could not install a wall oven. So, I had to look around for someone to install, and then wait until they could come out. This took about a month. While I inspected the unit upon delivery, and all looked great, I made the mistake of keeping the oven racks in. After installation, I pulled out the cardboard strips that kept the racks from damaging the interior during shipping, to discover one was covering a quarter-sized chip. Brand new, never used oven. KitchenAid just said sorry, its beyond the 30 day warranty, and it is not covered by the 1 year warranty as they consider it cosmetic. I turned it on for the first time today, and it started smoking horribly (yes, I have removed everything from the interior, including the yellow plastic feet from the bottom rack). I also ordered the glass downdraft KECD807XBL01 cooktop (both items replaced 30 year old JennAirs) directly from Whirlpool and the blower does not even come on at all. But, at least that is within 30 days, so they are sending someone to repair it next week. Well see, but I doubt it will sway my view that I am done with KitchenAid.

Each time they then set up a date in the not so near future for a repair company to come out and sometimes even then the job is far from over. I am now awaiting a company to come fix 3 different things on 2 different appliances. This after they were just out 3 weeks ago repairing something else. I HIGHLY recommend you stay VERY FAR away from Kitchen Aid. This company is absolute trash and uses the cheapest of plastic to make their products. I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from them again.

KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? Every time I decide to replace the unit - I want to try one more time to remedy this problem.

Short story - Within 3 years the main control has gone bad, it no longer keeps temperature, and KitchenAid cannot provide me the parts to fix it even though its in warranty!!! Stay away from this product and stay away from KitchenAid / Whirlpool all together. Long story - Its completely worthless WITHIN 3 YEARS for a $4k product! I called KitchenAid and scheduled service to come out within 1 week (ok so far). Their service provider came out and said I need a new main control. They would order it and call when received. Two weeks go by, no call from them so I call. They inform me they are not able to tell me when the part will come in. Its up to their distributor and they have no way of knowing. Over 3000 customers are waiting on back-ordered parts. I wait another week and still no availability update. Meanwhile, I look online and see the part is available to ship the next day thru KitchenAids part website repair clinic. I decide to call KitchenAid directly again and a service rep tells me he sees the part is available, apologizes for the now four-week wait and says theyll send it directly to me via 2nd day. Of course, its now the next week (5 weeks without a fridge at this point) and the part still hasnt arrived. I called KitchenAid to ask what is going on. They said now the part is back-ordered until the end of the year at the earliest! Best case scenario that means I will be without a working fridge for 12 weeks!!! For a part that is supposed to be covered by warranty. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID OR WHIRLPOOL.

I had both fridge and stove replaced as we threatened to take them to court. Well, we should have asked for our money back. Our 9 year old KBRS22KMSS $3500 fridge died and though KAid will replace compressor, it will cost $500 in labor and will not guarantee it will fix issue. To top it all off, the service man snickered as he looked at our $5700 pro series oven as he was leaving and commented on how many issues they had and the parts are not available so off to the scrap yard. I will never buy KA, WHIRLPOOL, AMANA, MAYTAG OR JENNAIR products ever again.

This is coming out of frustration dealing with KitchenAid fridges. Had an older KitchenAid fridge (Built-In) which lasted about 15 years and decided to go with another KitchenAid as a replacement. Purchased the KBFN402ESS - where its categorized as a Luxury fridge, thats built-in with the latest technologies and cooling features, yet it was super expensive and have been a major headache since the get-go.1) The fridge delivered came as a LEMON. This was during a crucial time, when my wife just gave birth and were new parents, trying to have the fridge ready to cover my wifes nutrient intake, and breastmilk storage. It took KitchenAid 4 weeks to come back and forth for diagnostic / small repairs, and it was not until I was adamant that we must replace the fridge, and finally they noted as out of courtesy they will replace. If KitchenAid cannot guarantee the fridge will operate and perform well within 1 year of purchase, PLEASE GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS - why are you producing such poor quality products?2) Upon replacing the fridge, and its only been 8 months - this new fridge has gone berserk once again under normal operational usage. Freezer had frost build-up, and the technician came and noted that the whole control board, along with fans and other parts will now need to be replaced. All the frozen breastmilk and frozen items, including some of the items in the main fridge have been spoiled. In summary, 1) KitchenAid does not stand behind its products. 2) KitchenAid produces POOR QUALITY fridges labelled as LUXURY and HIGH-END Fridge. 3) KitchenAid customer care is slow, and does not address customers concerns and compensation.4) KitchenAid should perform stricter quality control and thorough testing before releasing products into the market with prompt service and warranty/guarantees - what good is your internal QC, if the fridge breaks on Day 1 or within 1 year?

Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I have several media contacts and once they report on all this I am hopeful that consumers will boycott your product. I also bought a 6300.00 refrigerator from the Great Outdoors in 2011. They were closing and since Sears owned them I purchased a floor model that was on display in a cabinet but had no power on to it. So I figured I saved 1100.00 between the brand new one. Wrong, I was told by the salesperson that it was a new model but when it was delivered and I tried to register it, it was manufactured in 2007. I called the store and Sears but since my receipt was stamped no refunds or exchanges they got me good. So now 3 years later the damn thing never worked right from the start and I have called it a piece of ** from the beginning. Guess what, my control panel out!! They do not have the part, tsunami story told and then broken contract with other company. I immediately called KitchenAid because I could not believe what this Tech was saying. Either I find an outside company with a rebuilt Control Panel or I can wheel the refrigerator to the side of the and basically its junk. KitchenAid confirm that they did not have the part and that the manufacturer was destroyed in the tsunami and the other company that has been listed several of these others complain are no longer is willing to make the control panels for them. I might have a chance of them rebuilding one for me directly and proceeded to provide the phone number for me which was wrong having to call them back and spend another 30 minutes on the phone. Another woman gave me two different phone numbers, none of them worked as well. After the third phone call I was provided with a company name and phone number they gave me that will certainly sell me a rebuilt one. I just paid $1200 for a rebuilt board. Interesting enough this company is offering a 10 year warranty on a rebuild control panel however KitchenAid only offers a one year warranty. I am sure kitchen Aid knew there was problems with this board for years. They should have recalled that or extend the warranty. I have never heard of a company not having a part in to be able to fix these refrigerator when people have paid so much money for them. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard and are able to pick enough for a new $8500-$10,000 refrigerator which I do not. They should stock the part and be able to control the market from other outside companies hiking it up prices to their desperate customers that just need their refrigerators fixed, realistically the part probably cost about $2.00 to make. I called KitchenAid as well, they said theyre putting in my case up for review to do the prorated. Its changed. From what Ive heard $1500 doesnt equal $6000 and these parts are not that expensive to obtain. This is absolutely the most hideous thing Ive ever seen a company do. This is the United States. This is a huge corporation. I hope everyone never buys a KitchenAid product again. Why would anyone in their right mind take $1500 for refrigerator thats worth more so we have no choice but to go to outside venues for these parts? Again outrageous, ridiculous and the most disgusting thing a manufacturing company can do. If they’re so willing to cough up the prorated amount why dont they do the right thing and at least split the cost of the part with the consumer if theyre giving them willy nilly numbers of outside companies and not controlling the market. Why would a company offer a 10 year warranty and not the manufacturer? I have purchased KitchenAid products for years. My whole kitchen is full of this top-of-the-line series. I will be slowly changing every single KitchenAid product out of my kitchen and if I am going to spend the money on that type of product itll certainly be Sub-Zero that offers a 12 year warranty from top to bottom on the refrigerators. There are hardly any bad reviews about Sub-Zero. KitchenAids competitors seems like they at least know how to stand behind their consumer. Shame on you KitchenAid. This is disgusting. Oh by the way, the tech Whirlpool factory care that KitchenAid called for me cause if I used someone else, my what little of a piece of junk warranty is left would be void. Charged me $145.00 for call and removal of board and oh by the way I have to have him reinstall the board for another $145.00. Cause warranty on motor and compressor will be voided if I reinstall. Pissed off!!

I thought I was buying a quality product when I purchased my side by side KSF26C7XYY00 refrigerator. The refrigerator I had was very old and not cooling. Since I was renovating my kitchen, what better than to purchase a quality product like KitchenAid... Unfortunately that was not the case! After six months to the day, the freezer stopped working. I had to throw everything away the day before Christmas. Knowing no one would be taking calls on Christmas I waited a couple of days. In the meantime, the refrigerator side stopped cooling as well. I called the KitchenAid customer service line to go through the proper procedures and protocol for the warranty. The service guy came out on Dec. 28 and told me he did not know how to fix it and he would order the parts. Several days pass. I had to call them to find out where the parts were only find that they had no idea. There was a new tracking system and they could not track the parts in transit. After a week and a half and after speaking with one of KitchenAids corporate reps and some emails to the Brand Experience Senior Manager they finally agreed to replace the refrigerator. You would think this would be a good thing however they had to order it and it would take 7-10 days. After calling the delivery company I found that they had had the refrigerator and no information on who it belonged to, yet no one investigated this. I received the new replacement refrigerator on Jan. 20. Now, you would think that the saga would be over, but no. After nearly ONE MONTH without a refrigerator, the new refrigerator does not work! The freezer is not freezing and the refrigerator side is only slightly cool compared to the 37 degrees that it is supposed to be according to the manual. I called KitchenAid only to have the customer service person tell me I needed to make an appointment for a service call. At this point I am beyond frustrated and I would like to get my money back so I can buy something that works. I cant afford to replace food or eat out daily. I will NEVER buy KitchenAid or any of their affiliates again and will advise everyone I know and work with (the 9th largest school district in the US) of the same.

Purchased dishwasher and had it professionally installed 4/16/2013. 9/13/2015 unit stopped working. Called Home Warranty Company who sent out repairman and diagnosed problem as bad Electronic Control and Console Assembly. Repairman called back and advised that items were covered under second through fifth year warranty by manufacturer. Contacted KitchenAid 9/14/15 and appointment for their repairman was scheduled for 9/24/2015. At time KitchenAid was notified, I advised the parts that we were told were required.9/24/2015 KitchenAid repairman came and confirmed that electronic control was bad and needed replacement. He subsequent, 9/28/2015 returned and replaced electronic control and then confirmed that user interface was bad and needed replacement however, that was not covered under the warranty because, even though it is the electronic interface between the user and the electronic control, it was not considered an electronic control. My opinion is that seeing as it is a set of electronic pressure switches, connected to the electronic control by wires, it is an electronic control.9/28/15, I contacted KitchenAid and was curtly informed that it is not a covered part and that I could purchase it if I wanted. I am now back with the initial Home Warranty Company to determine if they will obtain and install the required part.

Unfortunately, I am joining a long list of customers who purchased the Kitchen Aid Superba microwave oven/oven built-in combination. After less than 5 years, the bottom oven door locks, without warning or just cause. KitchenAid is aware of this manufacturer defect, but chooses to ignore it, and refuse to resolve this issue. Turning off the circuit breaker should reset the computer, but dont count on it. The other solution you may be given is to turn on the self clean feature, cancel it after 2-3 minutes, and hopefully it will unlock. I am appalled that managers like Kia (ID 8592), has no concern for customers. Kia basically stated that after one year, warranties expire, it becomes the customers problem. The licensed technicians are stumped to fix the problem, but wont tell you until they collect a service call fee. What is even more outrageous is the model and serial number are inside the oven, but when the door is locked, you cannot not see the number. It is a no-brainer to relocate the model and serial number, so it is accessible when the oven locks up, because it will. The bottomline is, a class action lawsuit needs to be filed, and a national recall needs to go into effect. Please send me an email if you want to be included in this lawsuit. Send facts with your complete information to **. This is an obvious manufacturer defect which is a hazard. The oven light will not turn off, and the oven door locks for no apparent reason. I am writing to the president Mark Bitzer and the CEO Jeff Fettig about the issues that should be a concern to them. Others experiencing this problem should write to them at ** Benson, MI 49022.

We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator (dishwasher, stovetop and microwave) from Pacific Sales in Mission Viejo in July 2012. After three months, we noticed leaking from the refrigerator that ruined our hardwood floors and contaminated our kitchen with black mold! The technician repaired a cracked valve and we spent the next month living under construction to have our entire downstairs level repaired (new hardwood flooring, kitchen cabinets taken out and reconstructed, walls repaired and repainted). Flash forward two years, our freezer stopped working!! Kitchenaid referred us to Veterans Appliance in Garden Grove. They found a broken compressor and broken evaporator. After waiting three weeks for a repair, the repairman showed up with the wrong evaporator. We then needed to wait two months for this repair. Now our refrigerator is not producing cold air even though set at 34 degrees!!!! What proof does Kitchenaid need to REPLACE THIS DYSFUNCTIONAL REFRIGERATOR?!?!?! We have spent thousands of dollars and wasted excessive amounts of time dealing with Kitchenaid and their customer service. HORRIBLE!!!

When we purchase our home, we inherited a built-in refrigerator, model listed above, and it immediately broke down. We had a home warranty and it was repaired satisfactorily under that warranty without assistance from KitchenAid. It was around a 1K repair. The unit was 6 years old. The next repair was one month out of warranty and we repaired again. This time it was over $600.Now my fridge is dead again. I contacted KitchenAid to request a concession due to the fact that the first repairs were done without their assistance and the fact that this unit cannot seem to operate without major repairs. Mind you, this units replacement cost is over 14K. They denied my request for assistance. We now are facing replacing the entire sealed system and multiple boards, and maybe the evaporator fan motor (that have already been replaced before at our cost). I would not ever consider purchasing another unit from KitchAid due to the longevity and customer satisfaction. At our prior home we had a SubZero built-in that was purchased new in 1987 for 6K and when our home sold 29 years later, it was still working with only minor issues during those 29 years.

She said her husband had experience with soldering and circuit boards and was able to repair their refrigerator with a $5 capacitor, purchased at Radio Shack. She said she had found out these boards had defective capacitors manufactured in South Korea. Sure enough, my repairman showed me the rounded top of the blown out capacitor on my circuit board... We purchased KitchenAid model # KDFE204EWH1, paid $145.00 to have it installed, bought extended warranty and it has never cleaned a dish. We had two technicians out who gave us hints to help, i.e. put more soap in, run your faucet until the water is so hot that you cant touch it because the first rinse in the machine is cold water, use Jet Dry. Ive been using dishwashers for a long time and have never needed technicians to come to the house and instruct me on how to use it. KitchenAid has officially chalked the problem up to owner misuse. This is highly insulting and ridiculous. We even paid our plumber to come and see if the problem could be caused by our plumbing - negative on that. I called the company and was told that if I try another dishwasher detergent, that it might help. Other customers have found it to be very helpful.Give me a break! The machine is a piece of garbage and has never, ever worked. $1,000. of our money has been thrown out the window and we have been treated poorly by this company to say the least. Kitchen Aid Refrigerator MOD # KSF26C6XYY04 Low quality - I bought this refrigerator from Sears as a slightly physically damaged product. That didnt bother me. What bothers me is that the cheap plastic draws inside the refrigerator side have all cracked and broken. When I called customer service in a right to work for less state they said that they would replace them, but that if it happened again it was a one time thing. Why I asked? They said the fronts of the drawers are cosmetic? Are you kidding me? You cannot open the drawer without the front on it. Can you open a cabinet without a handle, a front door without a door knob? I am incredibly disappointed with this company. We had a Kitchen Aid refrigerator we bought in 2000 and it was great. This is a $2000 sub par product. Stay away from companies like Kitchen Aid that build low quality products and then dont back up their own warranties. I will not buy from this manufacturer again.

We did a gut rehab kitchen remodel in 2012. Consumer Reports magazine point
We did a gut rehab kitchen remodel in 2012. Consumer Reports magazine pointed us to the best refrigerator and other appliances (virtually all KitchenAid). Everything (layout, space, ice maker and filtered water) was great with the refrigerator for 3 years. In late August, 2015 we started seeing water dripping from the freezer door onto the floor. Fortunately not hardwood flooring, but wooden cabinet enclosure got a bit wet and is damaged. Bottom line - after a couple of hopeful attempts assuming it might be the ice maker or the high humidity, the problem persisted and we called the dealer for repair. I asked the tech if hes seen this problem and he honestly answered Yes, a lot. He explained that the part to fix it would be free of charge, and that I would need to pay $164 for the service call. To the dealers credit, I was told on the phone that the minimum for a service call is $164. With this fresh info from the tech whos working on the refrigerator real time, things recalibrate.... If a manufacturer has a lot of the same problem happening, the product should be recalled and owners notified. From there, repairs should be gratis. While the tech was still at the house, I googled the problem and see many youtube videos and write ups about this problem which is a small black rubber check valve that gunks up and then backs up water into the freezer. The floor of the freezer becomes a mini skating rink, and when theres no room left for water down there, it leaks out the front of the freezer. I called the dealer while the tech was still at the house and plead my case. They did call back and agreed to pick up half of the service call. They tried KitchenAid and were unsuccessful. A couple days later, I called KitchenAids large appliance customer service and they stuck to their guns. The rep gave me the usual apology said theres nothing he could do. I asked for his supervisor. I waited a few minutes and finally spoke to a woman who listened, said sorry, and then when I asked for her manager, she refused to pass me up the line saying that she was as far as I was going to take this. $82 isnt the issue. Customer service or lack thereof, and a corporate decision to let the consumers be guinea pigs to figure this wet mess out for themselves is what frosts me. I wonder how long before I have a wet floor beneath the freezer again. Consumer Reports or not, Im done with KitchenAid, its products, and its affiliated companies.

We have had 7 service appointments during this time; each time the technician assured us the issue was repaired but the fridge never got below 76 degrees. We requested a replacement refrigerator several times but were told the warranty would only cover repairs and we were locked into using their repair service provider. I dont know any other business that could take a customers money (almost $2,500) and deprive them of a working product. If I tried their approach with my companys clients, I would be sued or out of business or both. Horrible experience.

KitchenAid KDTM404KPS Bought this dishwasher for new Kitchen Reno. Very disappointed with it so far. While it appears to clean well, it is very noisy on the wash cycle, definitely not the 44 db they claim. The grids on the racks are far apart and if smaller items are placed they can fall right through. No grips on the racks that would normally hold these items in place. My biggest disappointment is the third rack. I would have preferred a full cutlery rack. This one does really not hold too much cutlery or cooking utensils. Also plastic items on the racks are not kept secure and I think fly around during the wash. I now wash these smaller items by hand! Have been trying to contact someone at Kitchenaid through CHAT on their website, and after a few minutes, before any one responds to me, I am disconnected. Would like to ask Kitchenaid if they have any grips I can install in the dishwasher to secure smaller, lighter items. I hope they get to read this review. I would have bought a BOSCH instead, like the previous one I had. Just loved the third rack on it and with a higher db of 50, it was a lot more quieter. It too held a 16 place setting, and more as the area where the cutlery basket sits could hold large serving dishes. I bought my items in a rush during Covid-19, and was anxious to get out of the dealership as soon as possible.

As I read through the other reviews, I see that I am one of many dissatisfied customers. I purchased all KitchenAid appliances for my new home almost 5yrs ago. The refrigerator started giving me problems several months ago. Both the freezer & the refrigerator stopped working. A repairman has been out at least 8 or 9 times. It will work for a few weeks & then stop. The repairman keeps coming back over & over & its still not working properly. Ive contacted KitchenAid & their solution is to have another serviceman come out & we have to pay for labor a 2nd time or they can give me 40-50% off on another refrigerator. I thought the life of a refrigerator should be a lot longer than 5 yrs. My last refrigerator, a Kenmore was still working after 20 yrs. I am highly disappointed in KitchenAid for selling me a LEMON. Stay away from KitchenAid Appliances.

I want to start by saying that the only KitchenAid appliance I have in my kitchen is a fridge. Model #KBLS19KTMS1 S/N K21016987. If you are in the market for a fridge, dont buy this one. I purchased it from a company called Trail Appliances. It made a loud noise from day one. They attempted to fix it, it started again, too loud to sleep. They came again and when they left it started again. I asked them to take it away. I did not want a KitchenAid. They would not do that. They did an in-apartment surgery on it that took two hours and replaced the generator. The noise stopped. It is still loud but not screeching loud. But now the bottom drawer freezer just turns off. It has ruined food a number of times. Ice cream...forget it. Ice cubes, meat..defrosts to the point where it either has to be thrown out or cooked immediately.I hate this appliance. I tell everyone I know not to buy KitchenAid. I have a Miele dishwasher, an LG gas convection stove and a Breville convection counter oven. They all work. KitchenAid sucks. It is a total disappointment and was from day one. Today it ruined another load in the freezer. I will be getting rid of this appliance because it continues to cost me money. Dont let it cost you too.
