Worst experience ever. If I could give 0 stars I would. One door stands higher than the other. The freezer screws dont even match the knob. On top of the appliance being **. Customer service is horrible. Waited for the appliance man from 8 am-4 pm to be told he will be here by 5 pm. Waste of time. Sent me 3 different handles where none of them matched. Pick any other company but KitchenAid. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE.

Purchased all new KitchenAid appliances for a kitchen remodel. The dishwasher overheated in less than a year. A service repairman from the manufacturer replaced the control panel. It worked fine until it was 2 years old. Then it stopped cleaning. I tried working with my extended warranty at this point. One repairman said it needed spot remover (which I had only recently run out of). I disagreed, as the dishes were greasy with food particles left on them. A 2nd repairman replaced the control panel. Still had dirty dishes. They replaced with new control panel. Still had dirty dishes. Then the pump stopped working and you couldnt turn the dishwasher on or drain the water. At this point I had been without a dishwasher for 2 months & was tired of service calls with no results and hand washing all my dishes. The store where I bought it wouldnt replace the appliance & said it was up to the appliance repair to say it was broken...& couldnt be fixed. The appliance repair said that it was up to KitchenAid customer service to make that decision. Customer service said that the appliance repair had to document that enough repairs had been made that it would be cheaper to replace. The appliance people wouldnt do that. I called back the store, the appliance people & the warranty company & tried to get them to work together... with no resolution & ended up buying a new dishwasher...different brand, of course. I wouldnt leave a bad review for KitchenAid, but this dishwasher cost me $800 and a $2,000 KitchenAid refrigerator purchased at the same time has been leaking since it was a few months old. Ive had it 5 years...still leaks & getting the same run around with the store, Kitchen Aid customer service and the extended warranty. No one will take responsibility for their poor products. I do like their stove top and double oven combo, though.

Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! They told my service guy that they know they have a problem but my serial number does not apply. If I ran my company this way we would be broke with no customers. Buyers beware of KitchenAid.

I had this KitchenAid stovetop for 13 years KDRP407HSS4. Suddenly, without warning the broiler went on. I turned off the electricity at the fuse box. I turned it back on and this time the clean cycle went on while the knob was in the reset position. It created a fire. I was there to put it out. This is scary when a stove can turn itself on without a person doing it. If anyone else had this issue, please reply. I see some people had explosions. If you have a KitchenAid I would make sure it does not start on its own.

Like many other people with Kitchen Aid dishwashers, my top rack broke. The cheap little tabs that hold the wheel. After reading many complaints here I wasnt very hopeful. I emailed the company, told them my problem. A few days later I received a phone call from them. They asked a few questions and are now sending me a newly designed metal part to replace the old one, free of charge! I suggest calling them rather than email to expedite the process.

The very first time I utilized the self-cleaning feature of my oven, the screen went completely black (never to come back) and the door would not unlock. First thing I did was google the problem and it looks like Im not the only one that has encountered this, and that is an understatement. There were literally hundreds of accounts of the same thing happening. I contacted Kitchenaid and they told me that there has not been a recall on my range (model KGSA906PSS00) and that there was no known problem...really?? The best part was that the replacement part is almost $400 and they would gladly transfer me to the parts department to purchase it. Thank you for the help.

I brought a KitchenAid Dishwasher and a KitchenAid Refrigerator and both are THE WORST purchase I’ve ever made!! I’ve had problems within 30 days of my purchase. The dishwasher does not drain properly, parts were falling off, the top rack sprout continuously broke till the point of not being to use it anymore. My fridge kept building ice in the back of it, all the lights inside repeatedly die out, the ice maker makes ice intermittently. I could go on and on!! Please buyer beware! Buying KitchenAid is a complete waste of money!!

We have a KitchenAid microwave model # KHMS155LSS-3 that turns itself on by itself. I cannot tell you how frightening that was to discover it running all night. And then when we turned it off, it came on again. We called KitchenAid customer service. They were aware of the problem and offered to replace the panel. However, they should do a recall on this product. We depend on them to let the consumer know of dangerous faults in their products. My wish is to have this product recalled before someone is injured or lose their home due to fire.

Purchased this unit in 2010 with an extended warranty. The unit died in 2012 and was able to get it replaced because of the extended warranty. However an extended warranty was not offered to me on the replacement. The replacement was installed in November 2012 and failed to heat anything in 2015, approximately 2 1/2 years old. I called KitchenAid and spoke with their representative in Tennessee, I explained that this was the second microwave that failed in a two year timeframe. The lady was not very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a warranty or I could pay to have a technician come out and look at it. She advised me complaints on defective manufacturing are based on Service Technician calls since they did not have any for this Model then there is nothing wrong with it. I asked her why would 2 of the same units fail during the same time frame and KitchenAid would not recognize that something is wrong with the unit. I told her I could buy a microwave for less than $100.00 and it would last longer than this model. She told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Apparently I am to blame because I did not get an extended warranty from them for $329.00. At this point she stopped listening to my questions and proceeded in a very loud voice which can be heard clearly from 3 feet away that KitchenAid stands behind their product and there is nothing wrong with that Model microwave because there have not been any complaints. I told her to search the internet. If KitchenAid sold quality products and stand behind their products why would there be a need for an extended warranty. Very, very poor customer service. Therefore if you buy a KitchenAid appliance buy a very long extended warranty because their items are not cheap and the warranty is not cheap also.

Thought Id share my KitchenAid experience. I purchased a refrigerator (KFIS29P), dishwasher (HUDS35FX), range (KGRS206) and microwave (KHMC185) on August 30, 2012. The first time we used the oven, an F30 error code popped up and it shut off. It came back on and would do this intermittently thereafter. I then tried out the new dishwasher and found that it didnt clean any better than the cheap one I replaced. On to the refrigerator, I noticed the seal between the door and icemaker was constantly wet and dripping water next to the ice bucket, freezing it in place. So after my first week with my new appliance set, I had to call service, something I didnt have to do for 15 years prior with my old appliances. One tech couldnt handle the different appliances, so separate appointments were needed for each individual unit. The repairman told me the dishwasher was fine, but unfortunately, the new dishwasher just doesnt clean as well as the older ones. It would have been nice to know this before spending $1,000 for an inferior unit. My friends Bosch dishwasher doesnt seem to have this substandard cleaning issue. Then Im told the refrigerator seal appears okay and it is probably due to the weather? Thats a new one. Not happy with this explanation and the constant need to dry the inside of the refrigerator. Another serviceman came out. He advised the seal was bad and a new icemaker door was needed. At that time, it was also noticed that the ice bucket was starting to rust in the bottom. A replacement was also ordered. The refrigerator issue is still being dealt with, while I even saw the outside stainless near the water/ice dispenser was starting to get a little surface rust. The range is requiring a new sensor and complete electronic panel to get it running properly. The microwave has been the only thing that has worked without issues, though when I bought the set, I was told it was all made in the USA. However, the microwave says Made in China. Maybe thats a good thing. The way Im asked every time I call about getting an extended warranty, its obvious its very much needed with the lacking quality of these appliances. My wife was so happy getting her new stainless appliance set, and I was happy about buying what I thought was a quality name - KitchenAid. We were both let down. So many problems in the first month of ownership, Im definitely concerned for the future. Paying over $5,000 for the set and now being practically forced to purchase an extended warranty to try to get a full life from them is disappointing. Im sorry to say I cant recommend KitchenAid to anyone nor would I likely purchase this brand in the future.

My parents bought this French door refrigerator Model # KRFC704FPS00 3 months ago (July 2017) from Sears in Cerritos. They paid a lot of money for this fridge. We called Sears first but because there’s no extended warranty, they don’t wanna schedule a service. Assistant Manager tried to help but that went down the drain. At first, it was making little to no ice then ice build up on the bottom drawer then few days after it was making this loud sound and not cooling anymore.I called, emailed, left messages through their website. No response. Posted on their FB wall. Responded so fast. Technicians scheduled, came and told my mom to go to Sears. Called Sears told me to contact Kitchenaid. Get the drift. Scheduled for repairs then days came near the technician reschedules. This is unscrupulous, delaying tactic that this company is doing. My mom’s health is at stake because she is taking insulin. Is there a way to help us just get a new refrigerator and get my parents money back? Please help.

04/06/2018 - Purchased french door refrigerator (KRFF507E). 09/30/2019 - First repair. Refer making noise and not cooling. Evap fan hitting ice buildup Tech replaced evap fan and thermistor assembly (took over an hour to remove ice build up). Tech also reprogrammed defrost cycle from auto-detect to every 8 hours.02/19/2020 - Second repair. Same problem as first repair except evap fan not destroyed. Contacted KitchenAid service basic response was too bad, so sad. I explained that the problem was a design flaw, not a faulty part problem but that fell on deaf ears. After a bit of debate service stated that replacement parts (from 2/2019) were under warranty. Service tech ended up replacing same parts and a control board. Again, over an hour to remove ice buildup. 08/08/2020 - Third repair scheduled for 8/17/2020. Sour milk, refrigerator temperature running about 57 degrees F. Ice buildup again, waiting for Tech to diagnose. Again KA Service response was too bad, so sad. Service authorized a $50 reimbursement card, which covers about half of technician service charge (not parts). The refrigerator was purchased to replacing an ancient (15 yr+) kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator/freezer that is still keeping my beer cool and my deer meat frozen! I will never purchase a kitchenaid refrigerator again (maybe anything from Whirlpool).

I purchased an oven (KEBS177SSS) almost a year ago. The first time, food spilled over in it and I used the self-clean option. The next morning, the beautiful blue interior turned an unsightly gray wherever the food had spilled. The interior is permanently scarred. Im now ashamed to open my oven door! I contacted KitchenAid by phone and in writing. They refuse to do anything about it, saying this is to be expected and that the damage to the interior of my oven is only cosmetic. We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator as part of an appliance package for a new home. We did not want the high-end option, so we were offered this package as an balance between cost and performance. We installed this refrigerator, a KitchenAid microwave, a KitchenAid cooktop and a KitchenAid dishwasher. Of all the four, the refrigerator is the worst. It broke down immediately after the 1-year warranty period ended. I had KitchenAid service people here on three occasions and they changed every computer component (board) in the machine. Each time, the machine would work well for a little while and then it would gradually degrade in performance. Right now, it is not cooling properly and not making ice. The gasket around the freezer is falling off so the freezer door will not close correctly, but the computer does not detect this as an open door for purposes of the alarm. At first, I was pleased to see the America sticker in the door - now I really dont care where my next refrigerator is made as long as it performs better than this very expensive paperweight.

I have always owned KitchenAid appliances. We thought they were the very best. I purchased a new stainless steel electric oven. The first time I cleaned it a fuse was blown. The oven has to be removed from the wall to fix it. I then realized that every time I used the self-cleaning it would blow the same fuse. After about 6 times I asked the repair man what could be causing this to blow and he said, I see this all the time so dont use your self-cleaning and it wont happen. Why buy self-cleaning if you cannot use it? So I used it again before Thanksgiving and another repair man from another company came out and had to order the fuse so no oven for Thanksgiving. I told him something must be causing the fuse to blow with the extreme heat cleaning the oven. He told me the same thing the other repairman said, Dont clean it. I have owned a double KitchenAid oven in the past that was wonderful and never had a problem. My other appliances are KitchenAid but after paying all this money for what I thought was one of the best I will never buy KitchenAid again.

You have to raise the rack up every time you put something in the 2nd rack. If you lower the 2nd rack so it doesnt hit the 3rd then you cant put plates on the 3rd or lowest rack. What a mess. I asked around before buying my last dishwasher, hoping to find a brand and a model that would last for some time. Instead, I purchased a Kitchen Aid from Sears. It stopped working last weekend, so we called a Sears for repair. They were booking appointments more than two weeks out. Next, we called a reputable, independent appliance repair shop, and they told us that our dishwasher had a defective motor that would cost more than $500 to replace. So between purchasing the product, paying for delivery, paying for install, then paying for a repair tech to come out and tell me that the dishwasher needed a new motor, I am into this Kitchen Aid dishwasher for more than $1,325 for a dishwasher that didnt even make it to two years of light service.Kitchen Aid should be ashamed of itself for selling an expensive product that couldnt handle 3 washes per week over a year and a half. Their standards and workmanship are not to be trusted, and Im stunned that such an expensive piece of equipment had such a short life. I conclude by saying that I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance again, and I dont recommend that anyone who reads this become a customer either.

I bought my french door bottom mount refrigerator in 2013. I have started having issues with the freezer and ice maker. The technician who came to check the fridge told me that this is a very common problem with KitchenAid. We have to pay $390.00 for labor and if the parts are not covered in extended warranty pay for that too. Our extended warranty ran out in 2018. We were also told that the dye leaks and it will have to be replaced every 4 or 6 months. I am annoyed at the expense this fridge is going to cost us. I called the appliance pros for KitchenAid and they did not help in any way. They are very rude and nobody knows anything there. They went on telling me, “We dont know how things work in Canada.” Well why then are you selling appliances in Canada. They know how to give customers a runaround and beat about the bush. I purchased what I thought to be my last refrigerator in 2007, a KitchenAid KSSC48QMS03. I built my house and was able to maintain and solve any issues that arose and they were minor. 12.23.2014 my refrigerator stopped cooling. We trashed at least 500.00 worth of food and have been living out of an ice chest and an under counter refrigerator. I hired an independent repairman 12.26.2014. My cooling system was leaking but the control board was fine and the 12-year warranty was in effect. He referred me to Kitchen Aid factory service 12.29.2014 for 95.00. They told me it would be 1,200.00 out of my pocket to fix the WARRANTY coolant leak but they would not stand behind the repair. He also offered the tsunami tale. I went home and watched the evaporator fan run at full speed so my control board and refrigerator do not have the problems he outlined. I am now waiting for a call from Whirlpool to entice me to spend more on another of their wonderful products. This is criminal.

Architect Series II Model KDTE704DBL0 is a $1,799 piece of junk. We purchased this top of the Kitchenaid line dishwasher to replace a 16 year old Bosch dishwasher. It was installed on May 11, 2015. Just two years later, in May, 2017, the control panel which operates the entire machine failed. It was still under warranty (labor not covered). It took a week to get the part which was replaced on May 26, 2017 at the cost of $100 for labor. About two weeks later, on June 10, 2017 the replacement control panel failed. This time it took over two weeks to get the replacement part. It was installed at the end of June. The owner of the appliance store gave me a break and only charged $50 labor this time.On Thursday, September 7, 2017 the second replacement control panel failed. And I am once again without a dishwasher. I have not yet heard when the third replacement control panel might be delivered and installed. And even when the dishwasher is repaired... After this how can I have any confidence that it will work for long? It was a horrible decision to buy this dishwasher. The price was three to four times the cost of the average dishwasher. I thought we were purchasing a quality product that would last for many years. I am so disappointed by how unreliable this dishwasher has proven to be. I wish I had stuck with the Bosch. My sister bought a Bosch for $1,200 a few months before I needed to replace my 16 year old Bosch. Its working fine and she loves it.

If the refrigerator door is left open for more that a brief moment, the ice in the bin begins to melt and fuses together and must be dumped. I have replaced the ice maker four times in the six years I have owned this refrigerator. Ridiculous for any unit but especially one in this price bracket. I attempted to contact customer service to discuss the fourth replacement of the ice maker but simply received a form letter indicating that they have no obligation once the warranty runs out. With all the other manufacturers available, select from one of those!

In 2012 I purchased my new home and upgraded to ALL KitchenAid appliances. It was costly and I wish I would have done better research on appliance manufacturers. Just before the warranty was up on the first year, my refrigerator was leaking water. KitchenAid came out and fixed the water dispenser tubing. The repairman suggested that I buy another warranty and to keep buying them. He added that KitchenAid appliances are constantly breaking and the refrigerator was the worst appliance for reliability. I purchased a new 1 year warranty and that was up 1 month ago. I did not renew the warranty this year due to recent unemployment. Now the thermostat is out and it is going to cost me $300.00. I am going to purchase the warranty on all of the other appliances and ride this out. BBB and Consumer Reports recommend Thermador. I will be certain to never buy KitchenAid again and will go with what is recommended by the experts. Thanks KitchenAid!

Ok, here we go! I am writing this review in the midst of having to repair an only 2-year old KitchenAid KRFF507ESS01 refrigerator. I wish I had seen these consumer report reviews prior to purchase!! Please take my review seriously so that I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake!! The major issues started about 3 months ago!! First, we noticed a noise (maybe fan) coming from back of fridge... louder at some times than others. I also didn’t realize at time that water leaking from ice dispenser when in use had preceded the noise! I just previously ‘chalked’ that issue up because it didn’t occur all the time! After about a couple of weeks of the noise getting louder and softer, it went away! The bigger issue a couple of weeks later became that the fridge was not cooling properly... Supposed to be 37* in fridge. And at this point the ice maker was not working well; making a handful of ice cubes that were not fully formed! My husband and I ran through the manuals extensive list of troubleshooting advice but could not find the issue! We cleaned the front vent from dust thinking this may be the cause... This seemed to resolved issue or so we thought!! 2 days later the fridge and ice maker were malfunctioning again with same issues except the noise!! I also purchased a thermometer for fridge and freezer to see what internal temps were... 50* in fridge and 30* in freezer! I purchased these because there is no other way that fridge indicates internal temps??? Only set temperature is accessible from LCD panel!I called a repairman who walked in and immediately knowing the (common) issue from a bottom freezer fridge, pulled out the deli drawer which revealed ice formed completely covering condenser cover. He proceeded to tell me these are the worst refrigerators (bottom freezer) and also that they are not built to last more than a year before needing repairs! He said he recommends anybody purchasing one to get the extended warranty because the manufacturer warranty is EXTREMELY limited beyond 1 year as stated in manual. He then ordered a fan, wire and harness and cover (I imagine because he may break existing cover removing it). Boom! $169. For service call. He wasn’t sure what parts will cost yet because his iPad was not working and had to place order on phone through his employer. He then gave me instruction to empty fridge and freezer and leave doors open to defrost ice for 2 days! Thanks KitchenAid once again!! I had to throw out over $500 worth of food from fridge and freezer!! He then said that it will get down to proper temps and that I could use again but that buildup of ice will start again but hopefully be resolved with replacement parts. Hopefully doesn’t sound promising!!Unfortunately, I didn’t purchase an extended warranty but that isn’t the point I’m trying to make! The fact of the matter is that KitchenAid builds a crappy fridge!! Unfortunately, I purchased matching dishwasher and wall oven/microwave combo at same time so now I’m just waiting for issues with these (As a side note, the handle on freezer drawer loosens all the time for which I have to tighten with allen wrench every few days!)!! Well that’s my story as I wait for replacement parts and looking forward to that bill! Sincerely FRUSTRATED KitchenAid customer!

Refrigerator model KFIS29BBNS00 - We purchased this unit in 2012. Ever since we have add numerous repair calls. Not only the first year but since. They replaced left door and freezer pull out door rusted. Ice maker replaced, and mother board several times for the ice maker dispenser. Now we are under extended warranty and we need a compressor. They will be out next week to replace. We requested the first year for a replacement and they have spent more on parts. Since we purchased it then we paid for it. They will not replace unit. It is a lemon from day one. Always has made a noise. It was so loud at one point we had to close our bedroom door at night to sleep. Dont buy this appliance. It looks pretty but it doesnt work right and they keep repairing it. The warranty department said they do not have a record for the first year just since they took over.

KitchenAid refrigerator model #KRFF507ESS01 defrost problems - Since purchasing the refrigerator I have had to have it defrosted four times. Every three to four months the fridge gets warm and the coils, fan and other components in the fridge get completely covered in a block of ice. Two service calls were made while the fridge was under warranty. The technician that came replaced a thermostat, but also said that he didn’t feel it would fix the problem and that it would happen again. In fact, it has happened twice since. KitchenAid refuses to do anything about this. My background is in engineering and product development and I must say that the design of this fridge is suspect. The use of a very low quality fan, no defrosting heater and some very cheap packing Styrofoam as part of the air routing system is very suspect in my opinion. It does not appear to be properly engineered. We are also experiencing some cosmetic degradation at the front of the water / ice serving area. We called on this also and KitchenAid sent us a replacement piece, which has already started to degrade since it was replaced. We purchased this refrigerator along with a gas stove top, convection microwave, oven, dishwasher and trash compactor. This was almost $11,000 in products from KitchenAid. We are very unhappy with the refrigerator since it will likely require regular defrosting for the rest of its life. The fridge is out of warranty, but this problem happened while in warranty and is in your records. We would very much a response from KitchenAid that include either fixing the problem once and for all or a replacement of the refrigerator with one that has the problem solved. It is not acceptable to sell a product like this.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher was purchased about two and a half years ago. The model is KUDS301XSS1 for over $1000 from HH Gregg Appliances. One and a half years into its use, it had a repair for $215 for a $30 fuse. The rest was labor because nothing on the dish washer would operate. The compartments that hold the knives, forks and spoons in place are held up on the sides of the utensil tray by bread twiggies to keep them from constantly falling into the respective sections. If anyone is experiencing this problem, the twiggies have been working now for over a year. The bottom panel which is plastic is held to the metal frame with cheap plastic that breaks. It is now held on by, you guessed it, another bread twiggie. Last week, the roller on the upper rack broke off of the cheap plastic spindle that holds it to more plastic parts on the rack. Now it is engineered by an ingenious screw washer fed by a strong plastic tie through a small washer fed through the opening of the roller and twisted onto the plastic frame on the upper rack. This works as long as one doesnt force the rack open. One should note that the end stops on the rack are made up of more cheap plastic parts that are quite fragile and will probably break in time. The dishwasher does clean dishes and is silent, but the cheapness of all these parts leaves me with one opinion - KitchenAid and Whirlpool do not care about making a good appliance. The KitchenAid was a replacement for two previous Whirlpools that gave decent service. I sold appliances in the past and know that KitchenAid made by Hobart was quite a top of the line dishwasher. My advice now - not worth the purchase price, not worth buying so let buyer beware. Because of this atrocious record, the rest of the new appliances in our kitchen went to Frigidaire. I have read many other complaints from others on the internet about this fuse that keeps going out. My repairman left the instructions for replacement so I can do it myself.

INCREDIBLY BAD PRODUCT. The good: the format of a small micro/convection oven over a large regular/convection oven works nicely for me as I can cook almost everything in the small oven and don’t have to waste energy on large oven except special occasion cooking. That said, the electronics went out twice in first couple of years, had to be completely replaced. Now I’m never sure if oven will work on any given day.NEXT: the first time I tried to use the clean program, about a half hour in, I heard a very loud crash and rushed in to kitchen to find glass all over. The whole glass door exploded all over. I eventually got it replaced but now am afraid to use it again. The bell which signals “done” and the timer itself long since stopped working and the turntable doesn’t turn. Today I found the glass top part of the turntable in pieces large and small. I’ve no idea what caused this. I’m worried that a replacement brand will not fit into the custom built in space I will have when I try to dump this headache. P.S. Read my review of KA dishwasher and immersion blender, neither of which are favorable. I have learned my lesson about this brand.

I came to this site to see what others are saying about KitchenAid... it just made me angrier but justified my feelings! I, too, purchased ALL KitchenAid appliances for my renovated kitchen. HUGE MISTAKE! The appliances are less than 2 years old. My refrigerator has been broken for literally 3 months today, after MANY calls to KitchenAid and then Whirlpool - their parent company - I have a repair company coming to replace the CONDENSER! A huge job that takes 5 hours.. that is what I was told. The first time they came, they misdiagnosed so I had to make another appointment. The second trip they told me I needed a part. I make the appointment and have to take the day off of work (they wont do warranty work on Saturdays-- they actually said that) so Im waiting for the 12-3 window of arrival. At 11:45 THAT day I get a call its the wrong part... KitchenAid and Whirlpool has been NO help! I cant even talk about the stove and oven!! It just shuts off in the middle of cooking!!!! But yet the gas keeps blasting! So while I think something is in the oven cooking, waiting for timer... it shut off! I am afraid to even use this oven!! Again, no help, no assistance from KitchenAid. The Rep tells me to reset my breaker when this happens... I have no choice BUT to do that but this is not normal! My stove should not just shut off! And the dishwasher??? Please... more of the same! I will never again buy any KitchenAid or Whirlpool product or any product under the Whirlpool company! Nothing but issues since the day they were installed!I heard great things about GE but I wanted KitchenAid... my HUGE mistake. If only I had the finances to get all new appliances!!

We remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Microwave, oven range, and dishwasher. About a year ago we started having issues with our refrigerator. First the ice maker then the water dispenser and then the circuit board. We have had repairmen come out 6 different times trying to fix the problems. Finally after the 6th attempt the repairman said it was unrepairable and notified our warranty company...What a flipping joke!!We contacted Sears where we bought the appliances from - useless. They did not care even though the warranty company is Sears Home Warranty, every time we tried to contact them we could not get through and when we did there was never a Supervisor available and they would pass us along to their main office and all we would get was a voice mail box. They finally called us back to say all they can do for us is offer us $247.00 for replacement (of a $3500 refrigerator that is 2 years old). DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! After using the self-cleaning mode three times, the lock would no longer disengage. My oven (KEMC378) was still under warranty at the time so the locking device was replaced. Again after using the cleaning mode a few times, the problem reoccurred with the new lock. After about a week of not using my oven or microwave, the lock disengaged on its own. Needless to say, I no longer use the self-cleaning mode. Recently on 10/27/2012, the locking device, on its own, became engaged and will not release. I can no longer cook or microwave - its completely useless. I called KitchenAid on 10/29/2012 to see if my model was part of the recall. Customer service said no and transferred my call to the service dept. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to pick up my call but they never did.

Our microwave has failed more times than I can count: two circuit boards, the handle, the plastic grill, etc. The first failure was its turning itself on randomly. This unit is a fire hazard and the quality is absolutely the worst I have seen. I am a product design engineer and the plastic materials chosen are the cheapest and the design of the mechanical support features are like a rookie engineer did the work and knew nothing about plastics. The cosmetic cover and the air grill are now held on with black electrical tape. All of our KitchenAid appliances have had numerous failures. As near as I can tell, their product line is a total joke. Dont buy any of it ever.

We purchased our KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2015. This model has 2 French doors and a bottom freezer. We woke up to a wet floor this morning, with everything thawing in the freezer. We called KitchenAid and were told about their Goodwill Repair that covers appliances purchased between 12 and 18 months ago for a service charge of $94.95. Great we thought. Then were told they cant get anyone to our house for 5 days. Useless. We had the same problem 6 months ago, but assumed we had left the freezer door open. Not the case. I definitely would not recommend KitchenAid refrigerators to anyone, considering the issues weve had with the product itself, and the customer service.

When the water filter needed to be replaced, I could not find the product and could not get the old filter out. I also learned that you had to open and close the doors a certain was to prevent the seal from cracking (not mentioned in the manual). The seal is cracking, plus the door handle has come loose and cannot be tightened. KitchenAid just sent me a warranty solicitation, and for $387.95 I can get a one year extended warranty on the fridge, which cost $1,799.99. Seems too high to me and I just wish this was a better product.

Three years ago I upgraded my entire kitchen with stainless KitchenAid appliances, after much research - with a hefty price tag. I liked that the products were made in the USA and that they were considered high-end appliances. I even replaced a Bosch dishwasher (it did not live up to its reputation). The oven cost $1500 and change at the time of purchase, and the model is now over $1900. Two and a half years later my oven started having problems - it turns off during cooking and will not come back on. I had repair people out several times but they could not fix it. Turns out it needs a whole new keyboard, which is over $800 just for the part. I tried to contact KitchenAid customer service - yes, this was out of the 1 year warranty but I felt that it should not be having such problems after only 2.5-3 years (the oven that I replaced was 15 years old and was in perfect working order - and was a much lower-end appliance).Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. My dishwasher has also had several pieces fall off that have had to be replaced. You would think this company would help their customers but no, they ignored my letter. All I wanted was to purchase a new oven at a discount - which they would normally allow but they will not let me do so because I have a home warranty plan (which I had not used to help in any way other than to diagnose the issue). Shame on KitchenAid for such horrible customer service, and for selling overpriced appliances that do not last and definitely are NOT worth the high prices. I bought the French doors refrigerator just 6 months ago and right away the fan was very noisy. Now 6 months in the temperature reading shows 125 on the freezer but yet it is freezing everything not just in the freezer but the fridge compartment. Called customer service and they took a week to send someone who just kept saying it’s the computer board. Even a non-technical person like me knew it was a thermostat issue. Takes another 10 days to come back with the new board and installs it and leaves. Nothing changed so I called back and then took another week to come back to test. Admits it’s the thermostat and says will order the part. 3 weeks after still no part and just fake promises, they are working on getting a thermostat. 5 weeks no working fridge and no sign of it being fixed or compensated for it or even replacement fridge. I actually don’t even want their garbage fridge or their lousy customer service! Just want my 5000 back. Do not get any Kitchen Aid appliances. They will give you a runaround.

Almost exactly one month past the one year warranty, our KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer Model KRSC503ESS is having intermittent freezer issues. Came home from vacation to find water leaking from ice bin because temp inside compartment was well above freezing. Had hoped appliance store would stand behind product but did not/would not and passed it on their contracted repair service. I thought I was upgrading to KitchenAid when spending $2600. Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

I have a KitchenAid refrigerator that has a problem with the main circuit board. KitchenAid no longer has a company that can replace that board (manufacturing plant was destroyed in a Tsunami) and it cannot be repaired, according to them. They were offering me a pro-rated exchange of $5800, based on the age of my current refrigerator. A new one is priced at about $8000. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After receiving the complaint from the BBB, a representative from Whirlpools Product Review Board called me to process the exchange. I told her that $5800 was an unreasonable amount for me to have to pay to get my refrigerator replaced, given the fact that the parts and labor to fix it in the first place, should have only cost around $300. She spoke with her manager, who I believe is Jake **, and the pro-rated amount changed to $2300. She said that was their best offer and that I had 30 days to decide. Its not a perfect outcome, as we are still out of pocket the $2300, but I do think that filing the complaint with the BBB is what made them try harder to settle this issue. I highly recommend getting the BBB involved if you are experiencing issues with Whirlpool because in my case, they did follow through, and I had a better outcome because of it.

KitchenAid Refrigerator Counter Depth Side by Side KSC23C8EYY02 - This pertains to a new Refrigerator purchased in January 2013. Condensation formed above the ice/water dispenser on exterior of original freezer door. New freezer door was installed last week (after 2-month wait). Now, new problems pop up - the ice maker does not produce ice. The electronic display is defective (light segments do not work) and the freezer is super-cooling. 3 different service companies have been here since last Monday and the problem continues. Why cant someone figure this out? A new ice maker is on order, a new display is on order and today, we are told that the heaters (supposed to keep water line to ice maker from freezing) may be defective. We have 4 months before our one-year warranty runs out and no confidence that we will have a functional refrigerator before then.

Each time they come out, it will generate yet another visit if they need to order a part. AT WHAT POINT WILL YOU TAKE THIS APPLIANCE OUT OF MY HOUSE! I foolishly purchased the extended warranty for all my appliances - well this only lets the manufacturer off the hook because they push everything off to the extended plan that I paid for even if the problem occurred under the original warranty! What a hoax. LEARN FROM ME AND DO NOT PURCHASE THESE APPLIANCES.

I moved into a house with a KitchenAid 42 built-in side-by-side refrigerator. In Sept. 2013, the ice maker stopped working. A reputable repair company told me the cause was one circuit board. They determined the board was no longer made by KitchenAid, and if a third party board repair company couldnt fix it, the fridge couldnt be fixed. A complete fridge replacement would be about $7,000! The good news: I then uncovered an extended warranty bought by the prior owner. The fridge was purchased Jan 2009, and extended warranty ending Jan 2014. Mercifully, the warranty company transferred the warranty to me, with 3 months left before expiring. The prior owner bought the fridge and warranty from a high touch, full price appliance store. Turned out the people who do the warranty companys repair are the people at this appliance store who told the same story as the earlier repair company. They sent the offending board to a board repair company and meanwhile supplied a loaner fridge as without that circuit board not only did ice maker not work, the entire fridge didnt work. Board repair company returned it a few weeks later, saying it was unrepairable. Now the warranty company had to replace the refrigerator, so they are actually the big losers, not me.Everyone involved tells me its not unusual for a 4-year-old $7,000 refrigerator to fail and be unrepairable after 4.75 years, regardless of the brand, apparently because appliance manufacturers havent placed importance on reliability of electronics. The problem is not specific to KitchenAid. In selecting the replacement fridge, I discovered that parent company Whirlpool owns, among others, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag and Amana. In the store, these brands are obviously the same fridge with minor differences in door and shelf decor. My conclusions after all this: 1) There should be some law requiring Whirlpool (and its several brands) to make it possible to buy parts, including electronics, for at least 10 years, for a $7,000 fridge. Today, Whirlpool stops making some board replacements 4.75 years after manufacturing the unit. Meantime, theres some opportunity here for entrepreneurs who can figure out how to acquire and stock working boards for whatever Whirlpool and its brands are manufacturing now. 2) $7,000 Built-ins are a particular ripoff: for about $2,000 one can buy an almost-as-large free standing counter-depth fridge. A few years from now, it would be lot less painful to lose $2,000 compared to spending $7,000 on a replacement. 3) Ive never bought extended warranties in the past, but an extended warranty saved me. For expensive kitchen appliances with significant electronics, I now buy extended warranties.4) Full-price full-service family-owned appliance stores (where they exist) offer more value than I ever appreciated. They held my hand through the whole process, I always had a working fridge, and they helped get an excellent settlement from the warranty company that they recommended when the fridge was purchased.

Purchased the KitchenAid KUDS35FXBL3FXBL3 dishwasher for approx $1000. In less than 2 years time, I have had the upper rack rollers break numerous times, and have replaced 4 sets at this point. On one occasion, the small plastic roller part that tends to break ended up falling into the drain system of the dishwasher and jammed the mechanism, causing it to immediately shut down. To date, all but one set of rack roller parts have been replaced under warranty, and the problem with the jammed motor/pump was also fixed under warranty. HOWEVER - the repeated breaking of the rack rollers in an ongoing and unacceptable problem. Despite the evidence, KitchenAid customer service claims there is no known issue with these parts. I offered to send them a link to this site, which details numerous complaints for this very issue, but they declined. AVOID PURCHASING SIMILAR KITCHENAID DISHWASHER MODELS.

Nov Posted by Amna 11/28/21 7:55 PM. I bought a kitchen aid dishwasher 4 months ago. Its stopped working right after one month. I called customer support and warranty, they said that they dont have any availability until next month. We waited patiently and the services guy showed up finally after one month. He took a peek at the dishwasher for 3 minutes and claimed that the motor has stopped working. He said that he does not have an extra motor and he needs to order one. He claimed that the motor would arrive by next week and he could come and install it. It has been 2 months now and the guy never shows up! We are calling and calling the customer support and there is no response. After a long wait time the callDisconnects. I would never ever recommend kitchen products to anyone ever! They have the worst customer service and they have no empathy for their customers! I am disappointed because I overpaid for this kitchen aid dishwasher. The worst company ever people! Bought a very nice KitchenAid refrigerator less than a year ago, was one of the better models (KFIS29PBMS00) and today it is repairable but according to the warranty service technician, it would be cheaper to replace it but that will take 5 BUSINESS days. WHAT? Surely that is a joke, this company makes good products and I thought would stand behind their warranty as in replacing something quickly. In 5 Business days when THEY make a decision, all my food will be spoiled ($600 down the drain). If they know they have an issue, and my issue is known, and they determine it is best to replace the appliance, why in HELL does it take 5 business days to make that decision? Obviously there is an issue with this model.Do yourself a favor, find a different brand, or expect any issues that are essentially recalls to take 5 business days to decide upon and who knows how much longer to actually get appliance in house. I have called them 3 times, and no remedy. Just the standard it takes 5 business days to go before a review board... WTF? That is BS. We should have bought the Sub Zero. KitchenAid has gone the way of any other use to be good product. The customer service rep thought it comical that I would get on the social media sites and provide this information. If you are in the habit of spending 3K for a throw away item and like to buy new major products every year, this is the one for you. For the rest of us, run and find something else and make sure the company will actually do as they claim on the warrant in a reasonable time frame. The issue is a known problem with the compressor that causes a leak of refrigerant over time. The company has determined it is cheaper for them to replace the product rather than fix it with proper materials. Yet, they take 5 business days to make this determination? If it is a known issue with all the same error codes and profiles of the same problem, the right thing to do is to apologize to the customer and ask them when they are available to receive the replacement. Now I am out $600+ on food.

I purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher from Lowes a few years ago to replace my 14-year-old perfect Whirlpool. The KitchenAid worked well for awhile, but suddenly the entire inside tub had a film on it, and now every glass, every utensil, every plate, etc., has a white film all over. I have tried everything - changing detergents, washing every dish thoroughly before loading into dishwasher, etc. Nothing has worked. I cant even clean the film off once it is on. After reading the reviews on this site, I feel like calling KitchenAid will only frustrate and upset me. This dishwasher was expensive and it is a huge disappointment. I would advise anyone to look at other brands first.

We work with many Architects and homeowners that demand quality. When time came to remodel my own home, I wanted to go with the best appliances that we could afford at the time and the ones that offered the most value. Our research led us to KitchenAid appliances. Since the time we installed KitchenAid dishwasher, range, and microwave, all have been replaced except the range. With spending as much money on the range as we did, it was hard to just throw it away. When I mention my concerns and problems at the NAHB shows, the KitchenAid sales reps state that was the old KitchenAid, we did have problems with them, but things have changed since then.My point is if youre selling your product as best value, and a high-end product, you earn that title not just display it. You dont acknowledge that you had a problem then sweep it under the rug. You earn it by standing behind your product. I write this as I decide to throw another $500 at the repair of this stove or throw in the towel. Did I mention that we too had to turn our electric breaker off because the stove top would not turn off, then another time it would come on without turning the knobs. If this had happened to one of our projects, the range would have been removed immediately regardless of price and replaced with a manufactured product that cares for its customers.

I have a KitchenAid Model KHHC2090SSS-2 Architect series. I have an extensive experience with concerns regarding this model. I replaced it once under warranty because it was arcing, and finally died completely. A year later, the microwave began to start on its own. There is nothing like walking into your kitchen and finding out the your microwave started it, set the cook time for an hour, and had already been running for 6 minutes. I called KitchenAid, and they immediately sent me to their safety department. They offered to fix it free of charge. Well, 4 months after being repaired, it started doing this again. After investigating this more, I have learned that KitchenAid has this problem, and Consumer Reports did an extensive investigation. Other models are involved. Fires have occurred. Buyer beware - these microwaves are a huge safety hazard.

I originally purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model# KRFC604FSS) May 313 2017, along with 4 other KitchenAid appliances (this is a new build). All but the stove arrived 6/21/17. When we plugged the fridge in, it was making a very loud noise and many of our contractors said it was abnormally loud and I should call Pacific Kitchen & Home/Best Buy. When I did, I was told to talk to the Geek Squad and then call KitchenAid directly. That was the beginning of long wait times on the phone, automated voice messages, getting disconnected after providing endless details (they cannot call you back) and waiting to speak with a human that could take action. When I finally did speak with someone they argued with me about the date of purchase (which I have the receipt for) and how loud the noise was. They refused to replace the fridge and sent someone out. The first time I sat home for 8 hours and no one showed up. They rescheduled. The second time, they said they would be there between 8 and 12. They didnt show up and said they would come at 2. I was not able to wait, so I asked to cancel, and they said they couldnt cancel the appointment after the driver was already en route. They showed up and no one was here. When I called to reschedule they said that I wasnt there for my appointment which I explained was not the case. Then they fixed the fridge but not the dent or the rust on the front door. So I started the process all over. Finally after many calls and arguments, asking them to just replace the door, they refused and sent me free stainless steel cleaner. Pacific Kitchen & Home agreed to replace the fridge since they thought KitchenAid should have done this. The new fridge came the end of September. The ice maker stopped working early December (who needs ice during the peak holiday season?) So I made another appointment and they then canceled it, a few days before. Today the repairman came (12/29) and said that he didnt have the parts. He will be back next Friday. So this is the general gist of my experience so far. When the repair person arrives he is polite and does his best. Pacific Kitchen & Home have also tried their best (by replacing the fridge in September). The bottom line is that KitchenAid produced a poor-quality product, would prefer to fight with the consumer than provide service, and sends their repair people out without the required parts. It is important to note that this fridge was over $2600 and I have now had to take time off from work, on four occasions, and it is still not working. I have had THE SECOND fridge in my house for three months. It is still not working properly and failed during the month that I have the most people at my home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going elsewhere with your business.

The KitchenAid Double Oven KODE500ESS is advertised as an Even Heat True Co
The KitchenAid Double Oven KODE500ESS is advertised as an Even Heat True Convection with Even Heat Preheat. The machine is attractive with its huge viewing windows, its highly polished finish, its commercial style handles, and blue enamel interiors. The electronics are elaborate. You are able to adjust almost every function of the oven should you wish to so, down to alarm sound loudness, and calibrating the oven without a technician nearby. However, this oven is not without fundamental flaws. The engineering is deficient in crucial areas: the temperature sensors are located near the top broiler unit, a unit which is used in the preheat cycle resulting in unreliable preheat readings; the heat release vent is located at the top near the electronics components, which could be affected by the extreme temperatures, such as those used in the cleaning cycle, ultimately causing an oven computer crash. We chose this oven based on the many positive reviews and have had the oven for 6 months. Even after talking with KitchenAid representatives and two repairmen, we have yet to feel comfortable with the ovens ability to function properly. First, the preheat operation is worthless due to the location of the sensor. When the preheated indicator sounds after 8-10 minutes, the oven is probably 20-30 minutes away from the achieving the desired heat, should it ever be attained. Second, the highly emphasized Even Heat claim is questionable. Once attained, the temperature can, by design, fluctuate. This we understand and have no problem with fluctuations, unless the variations are large. We have experienced 50-degree swings. We have agonized with uneven cooking in many directions: dishes done on the sides, unfinished in the middle; dishes browned on one corner, not on the others; when two dishes in same oven baked at same temperature, both requiring same number of minutes, one will be done before the other. The repairmen state there is nothing they can do to fix these problems. This is not a bakers oven. It is not even a novice’s oven. It certainly is not as functional as our previous ones. It is unreliable, untrustworthy and we wish this one were not ours. If KitchenAid planned to put an extremely inferior product on the market prematurely at an exorbitant price, they have exceeded their expectations.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator. I could never get the ice maker out. Later found out it was stuck shut. At about 11 months I notices residue on the bottom of my glass after my drink sat. The volume of the powdery substance was quite substantial and noticeable. I really worked on the ice maker and forced it open. There was a pile of white powder inside the ice maker and on the sides of the interior. I cleaned it thoroughly removing all white power and thought the problem was solved. They just forgot to clean it before shipping it. After cleaning it the water/ice was clear. Within 3 months I noticed the white powder was back in my drinks. I cant believe how much of this powder I must have ingested. I called KitchenAid. Sorry you are out of warranty. I suggested they come out and get a sample of this white powder and identify it as harmless or toxic, if not for me then other who may have not noticed it. Sorry your out of warranty. I usually have to run the cycle twice to get them clean, and even then the dishes still don’t come out completely clean. I’ve also tried different brands of dishwashing detergent and finishing rinses. Even if I reduce the number of dishes I put in the dishwasher, I still get the same results. I had the machine looked at while it was under warranty. All they did was clean the arms. I was still getting the same results. New cheese drawer lid ordered, still didnt fit properly so technician had to shim the sides and now there is a gap on either side where debris could collect and cant be cleaned out. Door on bottom freezer deemed to be warped causing it not to seal properly, thus huge frost accumulation on inside of freezer and bouts of thawing causes puddles on floor in front. Waited 2 months for a new freezer door, arrived and when technician went to install found it also was warped. Now have to wait another 2 months for a second try. Whole unit is substandard. I asked for a replacement fridge. Of course, they refuse but they are happy to keep making repairs. I purchased a KitchenAid induction double oven range, model KSIB900ESS1 through my home builder, who installed it in July 2017. We moved into the home August 1. It worked correctly until October, although the induction burners make a lot of noise. In October the ovens quit working. We called KitchenAid, who sent an appliance repairman out in two days. A week later we hear nothing from the appliance guy. After several calls, I found out that the part that needed replaced did not exist. Confused, I called KitchenAid again and asked for another repairman. This one came out, found the problem, and located a replacement board within a week. I preheated the top oven two hours after he left and both of the ovens quit again. It is now a week later (tomorrow will be a month without an oven) and we are no further along in getting this fixed. Added to that: today I received a large box on my doorstep from KitchenAid (which I did not order) that I think might contain pots and pans that I dont need. Im afraid to open it because I dont want them saying I accepted pots and pans in lieu of a workable oven. What the heck is going on with this company?? Two days til Thanksgiving but we wont be able to cook anything in the oven this year. Thank goodness the range still works or wed be eating microwaved everything.

The glass on my KitchenAid lower wall oven shattered (it was not on at the time). When I called KitchenAid they gave me the name of their local approved repair vendor. I ordered the part and paid the high price for a replacement. When the repair technician came to replace the defective part HE COULD NOT DO SO! The replacement part had not been manufactured properly. It was defective. The subject part was the outside glass pane attached to the stainless front panel. The glass was not centered and there was a 1/8 gap on one side and the other side was attached so that the part was twice as thick as it should have been. The thickness prevented the attachment screws from connecting. Obviously, Whirlpool is not familiar with the concept of quality control. The technician took the defective part back to their shop and ordered a new replacement. That part has the same defect! I am told that the vendor has tried several other suppliers and have not been able to find a non-defective replacement part.I never had trouble with replacement parts when Hobart owned KitchenAid! The Whirlpool organization negotiated the lowest price possible with their replacement parts vendor--probably in China--who gives Whirlpool their moneys worth and KitchenAid owners now suffer with the result. IT HAS BEEN SIX WEEKS and there is not a properly manufactured replacement part in sight!!!! This oven is almost twelve years old but for the price KitchenAid charges it should last one hell of a lot longer than that! Model: KEBC208KSSO, SN: XM4400465. Sadly, the approved Whirlpool vendor who is suppose to be repairing my oven door has not bothered to call me back since the first week this fiasco began.

During the cleaning, my oven glass exploded! Also, we have just spent $200 to have the microwave door repaired and this is the second time in five years! This time, it almost fell off. My sister has a KitchenAid and her microwave door did the same thing. Our repairman said he sees this all the time with KitchenAid. The oven glass flew everywhere in the oven. This is unacceptable. I so wish I had gone with another oven. This is ridiculous.

Dishwasher just quit working about 3 weeks ago. After about one week, I tried cleaning the inside. The bottom was all rust. When I went to wipe it out I got shocked. Needless to say, I left it alone. Called technician in and he said it was the worse dishwasher he had seen. The seal on the motor evidently leaked and blew out all the functions for operation. It would be too expensive to repair. Here is a picture of the dishwasher. This dishwasher was installed 2 years and 1 month ago.
