At 1 year, the rivets that hold the sliding rails for the top rack rusted out and the rails fell off. I believe the new rails were almost $40 each and I had to pull the dishwasher out to replace them. Then about 6 months later, the wheels for the bottom rack started falling off one by one until over the course of about 3 months the bottom rack is wheeless. Ive just order 4 packs of wheels for another $30. The dishes no longer get very clean.... Ill never buy any Kitchen Aid product again.

My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KDFE304SS0 dishwasher back into place. Problem was traced to the right hand upper rack trucks bearing retainer failing, releasing multiple bits of plastic and several small stainless bearings into the interior of the dishwasher. Closer inspection indicates that the manufacturer chose to use a nylon (PA6?) carrier which is degraded by moisture and heat eventually causing the carrier to break down. Why they chose that material when so much of the other components are POM which would have held up is beyond me. This will be a problem for others for sure if they use the heated dry. An additional worry is that not all bearings could not be recovered so there may be additional issues due to small metal bits traveling through the rest of the system. The unit was purchased from Sears July 17, 2015 so entirely too soon for such a failure. Clearly a poor choice in materials.

I am having problems with our KitchenAid, KEBC107KWH03, again. The self cleaning feature shuts down the oven. This is our second time with just as many cleanings. It’s the same story from the repairman, Dont use the self cleaning feature”. I sent an email off to KitchenAid tonight. The last time, I too received the same sorry for you loss form letter from KA. This stove is a piece of $1,500 crap! What’s my plan? Thankfully, we have the extended warranty from Sears. If nothing can be worked out, I plan on self cleaning this thing after every service call.

Purchased KitchenAid refrigerator in Jan. 2013 for 2,500. Fast forward to Feb 2017, freezer defrosts food overnight. Freezer full of food lost. Next fridge no longer cooling. Call local appliance repair company. Comes out same day! Informs me he is unable to repair issue and advises that it is a recall issue and provides me all recall info. Well, calling Whirlpool customer service was the worst customer service I have ever received. After 2 calls and 2 hours later, finally got an appointment booked for a tech to come repair issue, but was told this repair would be at my expense as Whirlpool disputes the fact that this is a recall, even though I had the service point number quoted to me by a qualified repair technician. Regardless refrigerator needed repair. Was told I would receive call from agent evening before appointment date. No call. Appointment window I was given was 9am-5pm, by 2pm not even a phone call yet. Called CS line again and was advised no tech would be coming out to my home. No sympathy at all from any agent I dealt with, in fact, found them all to be extremely rude!! Next available appointment not for one full week. Was told they will not provide any compensation! Worst experience ever. Will NEVER recommend KitchenAid to anyone nor will I ever purchase another KitchenAid appliance in the future. So disappointing.

What a croc! We bought our house on May 12, 2012. The house was only 1-year-old at the time and had nice, shiny, new KitchenAid appliances in it. Last week I used the self-clean on my wall oven. After 3 hours and cooled, I wiped out the oven of the debris and found that the pretty blue interior has now changed to ugly grey. I didnt use the oven for a few days after cleaning, but when I did use it, it wouldnt heat up. I tried several times on several different days and temps, and followed the manual on troubleshooting to no avail. So I called the builder and the supplier. I was told only 1 year warranty on appliances. I would have to call a repairman. Well thats just great. For the price that these appliances cost, you would think they would have a better guarantee. Still waiting on what its going to cost me. After reading all these other reviews, if I need a new oven you bet your ** it wont be a KitchenAid.

I asked around before buying my last dishwasher, hoping to find a brand and a model that would last for some time. Instead, I purchased a Kitchen Aid from Sears. It stopped working last weekend, so we called a Sears for repair. They were booking appointments more than two weeks out. Next, we called a reputable, independent appliance repair shop, and they told us that our dishwasher had a defective motor that would cost more than $500 to replace. So between purchasing the product, paying for delivery, paying for install, then paying for a repair tech to come out and tell me that the dishwasher needed a new motor, I am into this Kitchen Aid dishwasher for more than $1,325 for a dishwasher that didnt even make it to two years of light service.Kitchen Aid should be ashamed of itself for selling an expensive product that couldnt handle 3 washes per week over a year and a half. Their standards and workmanship are not to be trusted, and Im stunned that such an expensive piece of equipment had such a short life. I conclude by saying that I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance again, and I dont recommend that anyone who reads this become a customer either.

We bought our KitchenAid refrigerator in late 2013. Luckily we did purchase the extended warranty, something we didnt typically do. When we were first married it seemed like we could count on a refrigerator lasting fifteen years or so, not anymore. Two years into it we started having problems. It wasnt producing enough ice, started leaking water on the floor when freezer items began to thaw. When I called the place where we bought the refrigerator (Hills Flat Lumber, Grass Valley, CA), all I got was youll have to find your warranty and call them. I was in the midst of a family health crisis at the time, so it was extremely frustrating. I found the warranty and took care of all that. The refrigerator was back to working.About a month ago it started demonstrating all the same problems as before. Right before the holidays! Even though we had the warranty, it took awhile to get anyone out, and then two weeks longer for the parts. I was without a refrigerator over the Christmas holidays. Luckily the garage has been cold, so I have been storing my food out there. I finally had the guy out to fix it a couple of days ago. I called them back today to let them know that the freezer isnt the least bit cold. So... About a month without a working refrigerator. It is pretty frustrating. Ive always thought KitchenAid was a good product. I still use my KitchenAid mixer that I got as a wedding gift 33 years ago. But I think the refrigerator is a LEMON!

We purchased KitchenAid KUDS30IVWH3 a year and a half ago from Lowe’s. All new dishwashers have a new connector that hooks the water supply to dishwasher. It simply screws onto a plastic piece. Over time this connector simply came loose. It flooded our kitchen and laundry room which has been three months of restoration - new floors, rebuilt cabinets, etc. And it cost many thousands of dollars for the insurance company. It has been a serious problem. The plumber said these new connectors are not safe and he gets nervous every time he installs one. He said they cannot be refit with a different connector. I am the second person he has had with major flooding in the home due to the new connectors. He said the European dishwashers still have the old brass connectors.

Dishwasher gets turned on by mistake then does not drain so it stays wet and smells, gets turned off mid-wash cycle and the KitchenAid customer service reps says, Sorry, it is working as it should. KitchenAid feels that if your dishwasher is 9 years old, it is junk and should be replaced. I have spent $420 in repair bills in the last 1 1/2 years, and now I will have to spend another $156 in parts - I dont think so. This dishwasher has been an electrical nightmare and Im tired of it. We have had two kitchenaid ranges in the last two years. The first one burnt up twice on the self-clean cycle and was replaced by a range with a higher speed blower fan that is extremely loud and annoying. Kitchenaid replaced the fan twice and have come to a conclusion that this is normal. When I first contacted Kitchenaid, their comment was we have had no noisy fan complaints. Service techs they have replaced many. Kitchenaid have told us they no longer going to help us with the noisy fan as it is normal. We are now stuck with a $2200 range. We will never buy kitchenaid junk again.

First thing I did was google the problem and it looks like Im not the only one that has encountered this, and that is an understatement. There were literally hundreds of accounts of the same thing happening. I contacted Kitchenaid and they told me that there has not been a recall on my range (model KGSA906PSS00) and that there was no known problem...really?? I am extremely dissatisfied and could kick myself for purchasing KitchenAid appliances. We bought a suite of six KitchenAid appliances for our newly remodeled kitchen six months ago. We installed them four months ago. Last night, I turned on the self-cleaning cycle for the very first time and woke to a kitchen full of tiny pieces of glass. A repairman will come in five days. If this is anything like the experience we had with the new dishwasher. We installed the dishwasher and I ran a load of dishes. All of a sudden, I noticed water gushing (damaged new hardwood floor), faulty part. It was three weeks before it was fixed. I ran two loads of dishes and the door latch stuck. A repairman came out two weeks later and used a tool to pick out the latch. He told my husband to pick out the latch if it did it again. I did not feel so good about that. One load and the same thing happened again. We called for repair, and it is two weeks before they can come out. We didnt hear from them in two weeks, so my husband called the service department and then the salesman. The third week, the part came in and they said the part was faulty. Now we have to wait for another two weeks before they come out and replace the faulty part. The dishwasher is working now and the oven glass exploded during the cleaning cycle. I feel like I lit a match to $10,300. I have read the comments listed and feel this exploding glass is an extreme safety issue. And to think I was so proud of my Kitchen Aid appliances. Why does this company not care about their reputation and customer satisfaction? What a headache and heartache. I wish I could turn back the clock and that money would have gone to another manufacturer that stands behind their product and cares about customer satisfaction.

This is Kitchenaid model KEBC247VSS02. The problem is common among ALL kitchenaid wall ovens. When using the self-cleaning mode, the oven apparently overheats resulting in a thermal fuse to blow. The oven shuts down completely, the door is locked and the oven cannot be used. Thanks to Youtube, the repair is relatively simple, although the entire double oven must be removed from the wall to replace the fuse. Appliance repair is a minimum of $200- 250. EVERY time the self-clean is used, the fuse blows. Therefore, self-clean CAN NOT be used. Terrible design and useless self-cleaning.

I have had my KitchenAid appliance for less than 3 mos when I started to have problems with the french door model making funny loud noises when making ice. During a Thanksgiving meal, it refused to heat up to the desired temperature needed. Again, another call to service man, time off from work to wait. The problem was covered under warranty. It took the service department two times to get the problem fixed. This should not be happening to a new appliance, unless it is terrible workmanship from the factory. I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. We purchased a KitchenAid gas stove (Model KGRC608LSS0) in 2003. The first year we had Thanksgiving, the oven completely shut off in the middle of cooking a Turkey. The oven would not restart for 2 hours. We called KitchenAid and had a repair come out, the next day, who of course could not find any problems, $150.00 wasted. The next Holiday dinner, the same thing happened, again couldnt find a problem. The next time I had Thanksgiving, I decided to cook the Turkey early so that I could turn the oven off for at least an hour before cooking the rest of the meal, and that worked. This past Thanksgiving, I tried my method again but this time the oven would not go back on for 1.5 hours. I tried heating the rest of the meal using the convection and after 45 minutes it shut off again. 22 people waiting for dinner and cooking side dishes in the microwave, not the way I want to host the Holiday. Perhaps this is one way of getting out of cooking the Holiday dinner. We also had used our self cleaning and it ran for entire day, the control panel didnt blow but this happened before we experienced our problems with the oven shutting off, perhaps connected? All of my major kitchen appliances are KitchenAid. I will not make that mistake again!

As I write this, my oven is being repaired for the fourth time, for the same problem. Since it is out of warranty, I will be paying for this. When you try to self-clean, it goes for an hour or two, then stops, giving an error code because the plastic, yes plastic, around the latch has melted, and the oven thinks the door is open. The repairman this time told me to never again try to self clean the oven. It will just keep happening! This oven is about 6 years old, but this has been happening since it was just over a year old. Also, even when it did clean in the beginning, the glass door does not actually get clean, particularly the space left between the two panes of glass, again yes, a space left open. I would suggest the designer of this oven be punished by having to use it. Clearly these should have been recalled or replaced by KitchenAid, as they are aware of the problem. But no such luck, at least not that I am aware of.

We bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from a wholesale dealer in Mississauga, Ontario less than a year ago with a 3-year extended warranty. Seven weeks ago, the fuse burnt and had we not stopped the machine, there could well have been a fire hazard. The repairs was called via the wholesale dealer who directs you to KitchenAid head office who eventually send a repairman who tells us that the parts have to be ordered and will be in touch. Weeks drag into months and it 7 months now. The handler for the company incidentally is in the USA and we live and bought the equipment in Canada. Multiple calls followed and we are offered a 3-year extended warranty to placate our annoyance. It seems 94 people ahead of us are waiting for their parts. Threats to reach the decision makers are blocked. We are given 48 hours notice which turns to 3 days. We are thinking of connecting with the Toronto newspapers and the Better Business Bureau. Where else can we complain where it will be noticed by other consumers and heed taken?

I contacted KitchenAid by phone and in writing. They refuse to do anything about it, saying this is to be expected and that the damage to the interior of my oven is only cosmetic. I have an old oven that is over 20 years old and it looks much better than this one does now. This is a total shame!

It looks great in the wall, but I HATE this oven & wish I could replace!! It blows a very loud fan any time it is on - and it takes FOREVER to preheat! I mean 30-45 minutes to reach 350. And then blows an hour after you turn it off. No way to shut it off. After reading reviews of shattering glass, I am scared to death to try the self-clean feature! How do they get away with selling us these problem appliances?!

My compressor overheated. Dangerously hot. I do not want the same part. There is no way to know how much damage was done! Not to mention fire hazard. I was told by KitchenAid it is my responsibility to unplug. I guess if you really want a KitchenAid fridge no sleeping or going out of town. I was told this did not meet their standard for safety hazard yet they could not give the standards that do! The ice maker has gone out. The water flow takes 5 minutes to fill the glass. The best was that I did not need to worry about fire, because the refrigerator walls would contain it! Keep in mind the bottom portion is cardboard!!! My last call the guy hung up on me!!! If you are thinking about KitchenAid dont. If you just got one run dont walk it right back in the store!!!

Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power
Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power plant meltdown complicated it. Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) are telling hundreds of consumers they cannot provide a critical component -- main control board -- necessary to repair a frequent problem with their refrigerators. In my case we have a 42 built in, side-by-side, panel ready unit KSSO 42QMB02 purchased in 2007. The panel ready descriptor simply means we had it fitted with the same wood paneling we used for our cupboards. The board is failing and its causing the unit to freeze up with loud fan noises accompanied by disturbing clunks and thuds. Its a matter of minutes or hours or days before it fails entirely. This is a problem reported by others on this site. Worth mentioning is that this is a top of the line refrigerator/freezer that cost between $5,000 - $6,000 not including the paneling. So heres the terribly sad story KitchenAid is telling customers: They no longer stock the part because the sole source for it, a company in Japan was wiped out by a tsunami and to make matter worse, the meltdown of the Fukishima reactor complicated matters. They told me to have their authorized service provider (B&B - good folks) to just send the board in to be rebuilt. That my refrigerator/freezer would be down for the length of time it took for the board to be repaired. That they offer no service contracts. That if I wanted they would sell me a new unit at a small discount - $6,233 for a new unit. I should add that because this is a panel ready model with our custom panel wood on it, it would be darn tough to match the old stock so there would be at least several hundred dollars more in panel expense as the old panels no longer fit the new model. And this get this, when I called another provider in my hometown - a fellow Ive known for years, he told me that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool has just today (this was on October 5, 2014) posted a service bulletin that they were disassociating from the company, Cocentric, that has been rebuilding the Main Control Boards for hundreds of customers owing to service issues. So the bottom-line is that this expensive and beautiful side by side, built-in, panel ready refrigerator is a boat anchor? Then I found this blog from a very cool, smart and handy fellow, Steve **. In it he describes how pretty easily (if youre handy with a soldering iron and a volt meter that is) you can rebuild the Main Control Board for about $6. He suggest buying a beefier version of one component, a relay, to prevent this from happening ... suggesting a design flaw in this board to me. And he wisely suggests adding an Appliance Surge Protector to prevent spikes from burning the board in the future. This is all beautifully detailed with pictures and part numbers. So heres my take - Whirlpool/Kitchenaid want to sell you a new refrigerator freezer when they could easily set up a process to fix these boards themselves and support their products. It gets worse. If you want to buy a refurbished board you can! For $800 - $1,200 on eBay! WTF! KitchenAids service policies are fostering predatory online vendors. Why will people pay this much for a board that KitchenAid lists for about $235? Because ALL OF US CANT BE WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR FREEZER FOR 2-3 weeks. This is insane and immoral. California has tough consumer laws. The Song Beverly Act may cover this as in addition to providing relief for people that buy lemons, it also provides for people like us (in California any way) that expect a top shelf product should last longer than a pair of my boxer briefs.

I purchased a brand new KitchenAid double oven range model KGRS505XWH01. Three weeks after use, we noticed that the paint is lifting off the front panel, above the knob on the left side. I called and they sent a repair person and it was changed. The same problem appeared 2 months later. I sent pictures to the service department and questioned why this problem is reoccurring. They told me that they are changing the service company and the new service crew will take care of it. After a month, a new panel arrived and then A&E Factory service called and set up appointment for repair. The panel was changed and again, a couple months, the same issue. I called the service department and to my surprise, they told me that they do not warranty cosmetic issues. I complained that this is a defect in design or their manufacturing process. They did not care. I sent a letter through my attorney to Jeff Fettig, President and CEO, Whirlpool Corporation. I had a call from their executive office and they promised the problem will be fixed for good. Next, we had a call from A&E Factory service for repair schedule. They changed the front panel, top tray and a burner. I thought this fixes it and were excited, but the serviceman hinted on similar problem many places which has been reoccurring. Anyway, the problem is back after four trips and now I called Whirlpool service and they are telling me that it is over a year and out of warranty. I am sure this product has a major defect and they need to do a recall or get a panel which the paint stays on. I will never buy anything from Whirlpool corporation for as long as I live.

So disappointed. Worst fridge Ive ever had, at any price. Its runs so loud that it sounds like a machine gun. Seriously, it wakes me up. In addition, after only two years the ice maker broke. Its only got a one year warranty. I replaced it, and one year, ten days later, it started leaking, so my ice container constantly has a big block of unusable ice in it that I have to break up and throw out. Im not spending $300 annually to replace the ice maker, so I shut the thing off. Ive been making cubes in my $500 fridge/freezer thats in my garage. Kitchenaid obviously knows its an inferior ice maker, or they would warrantyit longer than one year. Its a piece of junk. Never again.

This refrigerator is barely 2 years old. The lights began to fail after the first year and am told are not covered by the original warranty. Service just left and stated how ridiculously expensive the parts. We need a power supply board $387. And he may have to replace some or all of the LEDs at $77 each. This is absolutely ridiculous. It seems to be a common problem with LEDs in a cold environment. We could be looking at a bill of over $1000 for lighting on a $2,500 2 to refrigerator.

He looked at it for about 10 minutes and said he had to order some parts. 3 months later he returns after the parts arrived at my house, he shows up opens the doors of the fridge started taking it apart, broke one of my shelving slides in the process then I see him cut a 3 or 4 wire plug off and said, Oh you dont need that, so to remind you the ice block is completely melted by now. He said these Kitchenaid refrigerators all freeze up so when hes done he leaves 2 months later the same problem. Like many other reviewers, we purchased high end KitchenAid appliances base on reputation. The steaming sensor was the only thing that ever impressed me. The fan never did much except make a lot of noise and the unit seemed underpowered compared to every other 1200 watt unit Ive owned. At just over 2 years old (and just after the warranty expired) we started getting error messages directing us to open/close the door. That resolved nothing. I unplugged it and fiddled with different buttons and controls, got it to limp along for a few months. Then the appliance went black. The local appliance technician says its a design flaw. The heat from the cooktop overheats the electronics that are in the door directly above burners. Most microwaves have controls in a side panel. $900 wasted.

The ice cube maker is finally working but the drawer is bent out on the upper right hand corner. There is warm air and air leakage on the upper right corner. Ill try to keep my comment short. We built our house two years ago; and all new Kitchen Aid appliances were bought. I have no complaint with any of them (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher) except for the range. I have had difficulties on occasion when the oven would not preheat. However, my biggest complaint is with the Aqualift self-cleaning feature. It doesnt work well at all. I dont want to scrape, scrub, reach into the oven to clean. Im getting too old for that. I truly would not recommend this type of range to anyone unless they want a workout cleaning the oven.

Then when I set the buttons to run the washer, it would act like it was going to start, then cancel and drain! Found out today from the repairman that this is a common problem. The pump is out! Says this happens frequently usually within the first 5 years! Thankfully I did purchase the extended warranty but on a dishwasher that cost nearly $1,000 one should not have to! I will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid again! Also, bought KitchenAid Refrigerator a year ago. And have already had to replace the ice maker and had a service call about a leak in one of the hoses! I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher May 2013. HORRIBLE. Within weeks, problems showed up. Wine glasses exploded in top rack, their shards damaging the engine. Food sticks and dries on dishes, requiring hand washing of ALL items first. Plastic mixing bowls melt in top rack. And that top rack, so flimsy, falls off its track at will. When I complained to KA, they said it was my tough luck and, because they dont replace their faulty products, that I should shell out more money for extended service. I did that. And wow, what a nightmare thats become! Horrible and rude technicians come out, late and almost always accusatory: dont use right detergent, dont use right amount of detergent. We selected KitchenAid panel ready, so our custom kitchen would have a designer look. Imagine how disappointed we were to learn that this refrigerator IS NOT counter depth!! The sides of the refrigerator stick out a 1/4 of an inch too far, and The sides of the door show. I understood the sides of the door would show, because you would not be able to open the refrigerator if the sides were enclosed. What I did not know or expect was the refrigerator to be black!!! Why would a black refrigerator be made for white panels? Why did my sales person not tell me I was getting a black refrigerator, especially since I was going to be seeing the sights around the door in my all white custom kitchen? EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION: The spec sheets that KitchenAid provides for your designer and cabinet builders is INCORRECT!! At least ours are! You should review yours!! We have now been trying for a week to get the person responsible for our case with no response to move forward. Its now been a month without a refrigerator that cost us 9K to be offered a unit at their cost without any consideration of what we have been dealing with all this time. They are even willing to offer us the newest version of their unit. All together this will end up costing us 15K for a unit that should last more than 5 to 6 years or at least should have parts for them to repair it. WE also spend another dollars a year ago to repair the ice maker. Model number of the unit is the Kssc48qXs. X refers to year made.. Its like spending 3 thousand dollars a year for a refrigerator. If the fuse keeps blowing, there must be a reason; although the service tech assured me that the unit is in perfect working order. Purchased dishwasher in 2011. 1 month after warranty the control panel went. A year later the wheels fell off the top rack and plastic parts ruined the motor. 2 years later we replaced the top rack wheels ourselves as did every other owner based on repair forums. A week ago in 2015 our panel went again. Never ever, ever will purchase a KitchenAid dishwasher again.

I have a KitchenAid hood top microwave oven I paid almost $1,200.00 about 2 years ago. I just had a heating element replaced in March 2013. KitchenAid refused to help me and had to pay out of my pocket for repairs. It is 3 months later and the microwave heating element quit working. I called KitchenAid and they refused to help me. I now have to pay out of pocket expenses again to fix the same problem. I tried to reason with KitchenAid, but they refused to help a customer. You can tell there is something wrong with the unit if I need to keep replacing the same part. Its a very expensive microwave for $1,200.00. I thought KitchenAid was an honest company. I guess wrong. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again. Bad customer service.

I purchased the KitchenAid refrigerator Model Number KS3C23C8EYY02 after building a new home which required new appliances. The date of purchase was May 2014. Today is April 5, 2016. Several months after purchase ice machine didnt work. This was summer 2014. After several visits from tech, it was fixed. Now, ice accumulating in my refrigerator and the fan is continuous on sounding like a twin engine in the kitchen. Tech said I needed a sensor. For a new refrigerator and may I say it was an NOT inexpensive appliance, I very discouraged by the quality. My warning to future buyers... Stick to another manufacturer or if you insist on purchasing, be sure to purchase extended warranty.

My new KitchenAid double wall oven exploded 1 1/2 hour into the self-clean cycle. Shattered glass flew out the oven, spraying all over my kitchen and out into other rooms of the house. I couldnt get near it to shut it off, because glass shards kept recirculating in the convection oven out the vent. So I ran out to shut off the circuit breaker. I spent 2 hours cleaning up the mess. I vacuumed out, but the glass in both ovens that is stuck in gaskets surrounding doors spills out of hinges every time I open the door. I want a new oven, because I dont want glass shards in my food; and what is going to happen when I run the cycle on the bottom oven? It is a miracle no one got hurt, except for the cut on my daughters foot from a small piece I missed. I am scared to death, and I havent had an oven to cook with for my family since it happened in May. I have already spoken to my lawyer.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave for $784.00 and $102.00 for the extended warranty and both of those were my problem. The microwave went out and I have had to make over 10 different calls and waste over 5 hours on the phone with KitchenAid extended warranty company. At first they refused to cover the oven because they said it was heat related damage. I have to admit that I am not very smart but I do know that a microwave oven has to get hot in order to work! After I called the store I purchased it from and after the repair company called them on my behalf, they want me to accept only 75% of replacement value. I can never recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid or Whirlpool products because with my experience, they do not stand behind their products or care about their customers. I have spoken to 3 supervisors; all of them follow the company line. The difference in dollars to keep a satisfied customer is $236.00. That is not much for a multi-billion dollar company. I will continue to contact as many information outlets as possible including TV, radio and newspapers, as well as spending time in appliance stores to inform others of my experience. All I can say is purchase KitchenAid/Whirlpool at your own risk!

Spent $3200+ on a KitchenAid Refrigerator model KRMF606ESS00 about a year ago. Weve had nothing but problems since we got it. The ice/water dispenser would stick open and wed end up with water and ice on the floor. The tech that came out to fix it said that theres a known delay between the ice/water paddle dispenser and the computer that tells the refrigerator to dispense the water. He did replace the unit because it was sticking as well as the delay. This helped. Would have been nice to know this before ordering the refrigerator. Shortly after that was fixed we noticed that our food was spoiling prematurely and the refrigerator seemed warm. I bought a thermometer and found out that the inside of the refrigerator was around 46-48 degrees when it was set to 33. This time the tech that came out said that the paddles werent opening to allow cold air into the refrigerator. Fine. Ordered a part that came in in a few days and installed it. The tech cleaned out pounds of ice that had built up in the back of the unit between the fridge and the freezer when he installed this part. Because of this, all seemed well for a week or 2 until the thermometer started climbing up again. However, this did not fix the problem. This time the tech that came out said it was a gas solenoid that needed to be ordered - something about the coolant not distributing properly between the freezer and fridge. He said it would be a few days to order the part. Five days later I call the repair people again and they said they had to order the part from the manufacturer and it would still be another week or 2. Um HELLO we have spoiled food here and it is the week before Christmas. Nothing we can do maam. We can overnight the part for $100. Call the manufacturer to see if they can do anything. Called the manufacturer WHIRLPOOL who proceeded tell me that theres nothing they could do - they got the order for the part - it IS IN STOCK but they havent shipped it yet. Well, can you overnight it? That is not our policy maam. What? Why not? Can I talk to your supervisor? No maam, that is not our policy. I can email my supervisor and they will get back to you in 24-48 hours. Are you kidding me?? You dont have a supervisor? That is not our policy maam. If he called me maam one more time I would have jumped through the phone. So basically, screw you, customer. Were not helping you and dont care if your food is spoiling. Oh, but were happy to take your $100+ per year to extend your warranty on this piece of crap. DONT BUY KITCHENAID IF YOU WANT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ARE THE WORST.

We purchased a KitchenAid wall oven KEBS107SSS in March 2012. This oven does not turn off and just keeps hot air blowing into the kitchen for at least an hour or longer after pushing the off button. The sales person at the high end appliance store we purchased it from said to turn off the power to the oven, which we did as it had a dedicated breaker switch. Then the oven just latched automatically, wouldnt open, and had a nice error message on the screen. Took the repairman over two weeks to get the part to fix the latch as he said that was the problem.... thats why the oven doesnt turn off efficiently??? I cant get anyone from KitchenAid to even answer my phone calls and I truly dont think the repairman has a clue as to why this oven wont turn off. Do not buy a KitchenAid oven. We are so disappointed in this appliance, but cant afford to get it replaced. Stuck with it, but it will probably completely break down in the next two to three years.

I have had a problem with my brand new KitchenAid side by side fridge since day 1 !! The ice maker freezes up within a few hours of producing ice. The dispenser wont dispense ice because the ice is a frozen mess, but a slight leak of water continues to drip through the ice maker onto my wood floor. I didnt break it, it came this way! KitchenAid has sent 4 different repairmen from 2 different companies and so far no one has figured out what the problem is. Now they want me to setup a fifth appointment for another repairman to come. The unit has always been broken.KitchenAid should stand by their reputation and heavy ticket price and replace my fridge. They can fix it in their factory, but taking 4 days of work off to await repairmen to fix a brand new fridge is enough. So I still have a broken fridge, as my wood floors are being ruined while KitchenAid continues to try to repair it . Kitchenaid is a joke of a company and I will continue to share this information and my story until they replace my fridge!

I was leery about buying another Whirlpool product but the reviews were good and it was bigger than the comparable Bosch dishwasher. The dishwasher does NOT clean the dishes. We have had 2 techs out (1 from the store, 1 from Whirlpool), taken 2 days off, bought 4 different types of detergent, tried each suggestion that was made (use powder, use pods, run hot water, dont run hot water, dont rinse the dishes before putting them in...) and NOTHING works. I have called Whirlpool and the reps are civil but not sympathetic and keep repeating suggestions that have already been tried. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. BUYER BEWARE!

I believe their service technicians dont even know how to fix or advise about this product. I called today Monday and no one was available until Tuesday. What kind of nonsense is this? But I can see why no one is readily available, because there are way too many complaints with only a small number of service people. I want a new refrigerator or my money back. I have 10+ yr old KitchenAid Superba double ovens. I was baking cookies at 350 degrees in top oven. I took one tray out after 7 minutes and cookies on top were burnt. Door locked itself before I was able to move other cookie trays around. Smoke in oven and perhaps oven fan not working. We turned the wall breaker on and off several times to restart the electronics, which seemed to indicate fan was working when electricity was on. After an hour of oven smoking, refusing to open and oven message of too hot, flames were seen through the door, like a smoldering fireplace. I ended up calling 911 for oven fire. After trying to open the door and let smoke out, the appliance cooled down apparently while firemen were in the kitchen so that the flames dissipated and door would open. Apparently, the flames were from the cookies igniting.

I bought the Kitchenaid KDTE404 (architect series) dishwasher for $900 and had it installed by company who sold it to me. The dishwasher bottom rack was broken, but installer/company repaired it within a week. The rack system is crap. Has plastic inserts with ball bearing. Inserts get hard, breakoff and ball bearing fall out. After 30 months the top rack fell off due the roller assembly breaking. Bottom rack has same issue. Cost for replacement of upper and lower assemblies parts alone were over $350 with discount. Dishwasher must be completely un-installed to replace assemblies. Dishes come clean, its very quite, but if the racks fall out/down while loading, its not really a good product. I can break my own dishes thank you very much. The KSSC48QTS00 refrigerator I put into service in Dec. 2007 failed Aug. 3, 2015. I am having the same experience with KitchenAid as many others. The circuit boards controlling the refrigerator failed due to an overheating problem brought on due to a design flaw of the compressor housing on top of the unit not being large enough to adequately have proper air flow which caused the circuit boards to overheat and fail. Like the rest of you, I too was told the of plant being destroyed making the parts unavailable to fix the problem. They are now available at the consumers expense because of the warranty expiring. That seems reasonable until I find that the failure was caused by the enclosure being too inadequate to handle the heat load generated by the compressor and motor. I was told that their authorized service technicians have been trained on how to modify the upper enclosure to add more air flow to the newly designed circuit boards to keep them from overheating. I was told that the new board will carry a one year warranty. That seems reasonable, except that if they fail due to heat not being dissipated properly that I would again be responsible for any parts and labor to fix the unit.If a product has to be redesigned for the new parts to work properly, that the expense of the modification should be borne by the company that initially designed the product, not the consumer. I tried in vain to relay this to them. All I got was that it is out of warranty. The consumer is responsible for the parts, labor, and any other expenses associated with the repair. They do though say that they are sorry for our inconvenience and that we have a good day, and thank you for choosing KitchenAid.

KitchenAid double wall ovens/ WALL OVEN- ELE BI 30 - My LOWER oven (the one not used except on holidays) went out on me on CHRISTMAS as Im cooking a prime rib (at 500 degrees). The ovens have only been installed for a year! Got an error message asking for probe temperature. Wasnt using the probe although I do have the ability to use it. Checked the manual and found I did everything right. I then ended up with an under cooked prime rib for 13 guests. Thanks for that! Then I tried to clean the damned thing since it hadnt cleaned well after Thanksgiving (I usually try to do this when we are in bed because the fumes are so awful). Guess I know why it didnt clean! This time after waiting till everyone left, I opened the windows (glad its a warm December) and the oven wouldnt clean. Got an ERROR message this time of E3F3. Heck if I know what it means. They were able to schedule a service appointment quickly but if they have to order parts, then I have to have another service appointment. All I know is, Ive got an oven that doesnt work during the holidays (Im cooking for NY Day too). I called the extended warranty number and sat on hold for 42 minutes. THIS AFTER HAVING SPENT NEARLY 2 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY BUILT IN KITCHEN AID DISHWASHER FIXED THAT HAS ONLY BEEN IN USE FOR 6 MONTHS! It needed an entire new drum. Nice since it already damaged my NEW cabinets and NEW floor in my NEW kitchen. No offer to fix the damage they caused even though they finally fixed the dishwasher. KitchenAid 21.9 cu ft Refigerator - KBFS22EWMS. Two year old 22 ft french door fridge with bottom freezer is falling apart. Poor build quality, poor service. For over two months, the freezer portion has be experiencing a build up of ice. We defrosted (manually) and build up began again. Waited for over a month for service man to visit. Upon inspection, service noted two things: 1) thermal defrost coil was faulty and 2) fridge door seal needed to be replaced. Our fridge does not experience abnormal usage, two adults and two university students. Why does a door seal deteriorate after two years unless...... its poor quality or defective... but no warranty?? (I have a 20 year old back of fridge in the basement, no problems other than its almond in colour). Why does a coil not work other than its defective or poor quality..... No warranty??? (I have a 25 year old deep freeze that still works). In addition to the defective manufacture and poor quality of this fridge, neither KitchenAid / Whirlpool or the service company can identify the part (i.e part number) to order, replace and fix the fridge. How do you build a product and not know the parts that go into it? Poor or lack of quality control! In the last two years I purchased a fridge, dual fuel range and dishwasher; all were KitchenAid. All were billed as being the best Kitchenaid had. I have had major repairs now on all three appliances! I bought and paid extra for KitchenAid, their quality was in theory better than most, NOT in my experience. In our home KitchenAid stands for KitchenDisabled or Kitchen in need of first aid. Poor build quality and poorer product knowledge and documentation. Run do not walk away from Kitchenaid/Whirlpool. They have a 1 year warranty on parts; is this because they know that within 14 months you will need to be replaced and thereby earn extra revenue from their parts sale? Interesting strategy and sales plan, poor customer service and reputation. Built NOT to last.

Two years ago we purchased all new kitchen appliances. We did all appliances with KitchenAid, french door refrigerator, dishwasher, countertop range and built-in oven and microwave. The appliances were all mid range models, not bottom of the line. In the two years, we have had a gas stove top burner that would not light, the refrigerator stop cooling and freezing and now the upper rack on the dishwasher is broken and falls out when it has the weight of dishes. The stove top was in excess of $100 (but covered by warranty) and the refrigerator was in excess of $1200 (just squeaked in under the 2 yr warranty), the dishwasher part is $45, not covered by warranty. I would NEVER recommend KitchenAid. This has been just way too many problems with these appliances in such a short period of time, makes us worried by the quality and long term functionality.
