Buying a new washer
I currently have a Maytag bravos top loader.
Have had it for 4 years maybe.
It has crapped out on me for the second time too expensive to fix this time.
I'm looking at either a whirlpool shadow chrome 4.9 cuft top load or a GE profile 5.0 top load washer.
Anyone have experience with either of these as far as reliability? Nothing seems reliable anymore.
Question from user Legitimate_Crazy2578 at Appliances at reddit.
Apologies for the inconvenience you've experienced with your Maytag washer. When it comes to reliability, it can vary from model to model and individual experiences can differ. However, I can provide you with some general information about the brands you mentioned.
Whirlpool and GE are both well-known and established brands in the appliance industry. Whirlpool has a good reputation for producing reliable and durable appliances, including washers. Many consumers have had positive experiences with Whirlpool products, and they are often praised for their performance and longevity.
GE is also a reputable brand, but there have been mixed reviews regarding their reliability in recent years. Some customers have reported issues with certain GE appliances, while others have had no problems at all. It's important to note that individual experiences can vary, and it's always a good idea to research specific models and read customer reviews to get a better understanding of their performance and reliability.
In general, when considering a new washer, it can be helpful to look for models with good consumer reviews, extended warranties, and reliable customer service. Additionally, it's beneficial to consider factors such as features, energy efficiency, and pricing that align with your needs and preferences.
Ultimately, I recommend researching specific models of both Whirlpool and GE washers that you are considering, reading customer reviews, and comparing their features and warranties to make an informed decision based on your specific requirements.
