Answer:

Very close. The black jacket of the cable needs to be inside the cable clamp by at least 3/4" before the clamp screws get tightened, and the access cover should be screwed on before the unit gets plugged in.


You might also loosen the black wire connection and swing it away from the white connection before tightening it back down.
