If you're looking for help fixing your EcoSmart Pool Heaters, look no further! Our comprehensive EcoSmart Pool Heaters error code guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

Problem: Water heater is not heating at all (water is flowing but the unit is not heating at all - the incoming water temperature is the same as my cold water supply) - the digital display does NOT light up.
Reason: No power or incorrect wiring.
Solution: Make sure the breakers at main electrical panel are ON. You may have a faulty breaker or the unit may be wired incorrectly.

Problem: Water heater is not heating at all (water is flowing but the unit is not heating at all - the incoming water temperature is the same as my cold water supply) - the digital display does NOT light up.
Reason: Flow rate is too low / water pressure is too low.
Solution: Make sure the breakers at main electrical panel are ON. You may have a faulty breaker or the unit may be wired incorrectly.

Problem: Water heater is heating but the water temperature is not hot enough.
Reason: User temperature setting too low.
Solution: Turn up the temperature setting on the unit. (see General Operating Instructions section of this manual).

Problem: Water heater is heating but the water temperature is not hot enough.
Reason: Flow rate is too high.
Solution: Depending on your incoming water temperature and the power output of your model, your water flow rate may exceed the physical heating capacity of your water heater. Reduce the flow rate at the faucet or slightly close the shut-off valve installed on the inlet side of your heater to reduce the inlet water flow rate. (see General Operating Instructions section of this manual)

Problem: Water heater is heating but the water temperature is not hot enough.
Reason: Crossed wires.
Solution: If it's a new installation, have your electrician double check the wiring. Is possible that the wiring is incorrect.

Problem: Water heater is heating but the water temperature is not hot enough.
Reason: Voltage less that 240 volts.
Solution: The heating elements on your water heater are designed for 240 volts. When use with a lower voltage, they produce less heating power. You may need to upgrade to a larger model. Call your authorized dealer for more information.

Problem: Water heater is heating but the water temperature is not hot enough.
Reason: Mixing too much cold water.
Solution: You do not need to mix as much cold water with your tankless water heater compared to when you use a conventional water heater. You may also have an anti-scald feature on your faucet that is mixing cold water. These types of faucets can usually be adjusted to reduce the amount of cold water mixed. (see General Operating Instructions section of this manual)

Problem: The water temperature at my faucet is less than the temperature setting of my water heater.
Reason: Voltage less that 240 volts.
Solution: The computer chips in your tankless water heater are programmed with the expectation that your incoming line voltage is 240 volts. If you have less than 240 volts, it may affect the reading on your water heater's digital display and cause it to read slightly higher than the actual output temperature. To compensate for this, increase the setting on your water heater if you need / want hotter water.

Problem: The water temperature at my faucet is less than the temperature setting of my water heater.
Reason: Anti-Scald pressure/balancing valve or tempering valve.
Solution: Your faucet may have an anti-scald feature or a tempering valve that automatically mixes cold water even when you turn your control lever or handle to full hot. These devices are usually adjustable so you can turn off the cold mix completely. You can compensate for this by increasing the setting on your water heater if you need/want hotter water.

Problem: The water temperature at my faucet is less than the temperature setting of my water heater.
Reason: Thermal loss due to long pipe run.
Solution: As the hot water from the heater runs through the hot water delivery system to you faucet, some heat will be lost especially if it has long distance to travel or the pipes are cold. This is normal. You can compensate for this by increasing the setting on your water if you need/want hotter water.

The instructions are not great for pool heater so I wanted to explain how it works for people that are new to heater buying such as myself. I have an intex pool and actually spent more on this heater then the pool but I wanted to put my pool in my garage and see if it would work and it did. The heater is awesome. The heater does take 2 50 amps, the package says 40 and some things say 50, we used 50 and it works, if you are handy you can do it or you will need to hire an electrician, you cannot just plug this thing in. We spent about $200 on pvc pipe, wires and stuff to get this heater working so it will cost more then just the heater. We have a sandfilter and we are able to put it on N to make the heater run faster through the pump, when the heater runs through on filtration it does not run as fast. I hope the pictures help. It took an afternoon to get it all set up. Our heater would not turn on right away and it was because the flow was not fast enough.

This product works very good. Not too many people were swimming on Xmas, we were :) Yes, we live in Florida, but it does get a lil' chilly. After about 8 months we are having an issue with the temp-sensor (inlet), we thought it was the control board, but no go. The reason i'm giving 5-stars is because when I call I get right through to customer service. They're very helpful and follow-up on what they say they're going to do (emails/calls/shipping etc..). We have a 18,000 gal pool and this unit brings the temp up about 1 degree per hour. It does use a lot of power and your bill will jump up, but we only use it a few months out of the year. Compared to a traditional pool heater (heat pump) that I was quoted at $4,000...this Ecosmart 27 unit is a great buy!

This is a great product, been running this for about a week on a 28K gallon pool, unit tank is built well and made out of stainless steel despite older reviews saying it is not stainless possibly older model was not stainless? also cool feature is you do not need to have all three breakers on for example, i turned on only two of three breakers, (due to not having enough power in current load center) keeping one of the heating elements off and warmed pool quickly 6 degrees a day approximately

Very easy to install, added two fifty amp breakers to my shop sub panel and ran two 8-2 conductors, 4 wires, from breakers to power connection on heater. I'm using a 1.5 hp pool pump to pump the water from my pool to the heater which is in the shop about 50 away. Make sure you plumb inlet to bottom fitting and outlet to top fitting. It turns on automatically when it sees flow from the pool filter pump.

I only had this for 3 weeks before I closed my pool for the year. But when I turned it on my pool was 68 degrees and within 12 hours it was 86°. That evening it got down to 46 degrees, and when I woke up and checked the temperature it was still sitting at 86 degrees.
